It is sooo good but technically yes it is just implied. I think it is HEAVILY implied to the point of not actually being just implied BUT we do not actually get on-screen confirmation between the two leads. (There are some spoilers here that have probably already been spoiled for you if you've seen the gifsets I've reblogged.) We get Daniel's mom telling him and telling Betty (separately) that he's in love with her, and then Daniel goes after her, but we never get more than him asking her to dinner and her saying yes! And I think that should be illegal!!! Especially because there are MULTIPLE versions of Ugly Betty in different countries and languages and in EVERY SINGLE OTHER VERSION, they get together in canon and get married. I really truly do believe that they were setting up Daniel and Betty from the start, especially on rewatches, because there is just soo much stuff throughout the show. They found out they got canceled I believe halfway through shooting season 4 so that changed everything, and I've seen some people say him asking her to dinner in the last scene is platonic because they didn't build up a love story enough. But I don't agree! I have seen it since the pilot! And they definitely kicked it up a notch for the last half of the last season. He threw a fit when she tried to take someone else as a date to her sister's wedding and he spent the WHOLE night dancing with her and gazing lovingly at her and telling her how beautiful she looked! And I'm sorry but why would they have his mother tell both of them he has feelings for her, show him writing a whole public letter to the editor about changing your life for someone important to you, leaving the magazine he's spent the entire show clutching onto, and then following her to a different continent if they meant it all PLATONICALLY??? It does not make sense just from a writing perspective. In conclusion, they're canon and the haters can pry them from my cold, dead hands.

Worst part of getting a tattoo is hands down the paper towel. It scccccraaappes over your raw and freshly inked skin. And it's been hours since you started so the adrenaline's worn off. It's a widespread and more intense pain than that of the needle. Like sandpaper on sunburn.

Second worst part is you gotta be shaved/the months it takes to regrow your hair. Even on a place with fine almost invisible hair the prickly regrowth is annoying. But I want a mons tattoo at some point! How will I live without my bush?!? I love her. Haven't changed it in nearly 15 years. It even pains me just to think about shaving a small area of my leg :( that hair's a part of me why is it the price of cool art on my body?? I would pay more money if I didn't have to pay in hair.

okay nope: one more thought because this show Does Things to me.

ofmd sort of... instinctively understands that to say a relationship is toxic isn’t necessarily a statement on the morality of the people involved, or their ability to do and be otherwise than toxic (whether that ultimately means separate or together)

instead, it’s an assessment of the overall net effect on the people involved. 

they also understand that people stay in toxic cycles because they’re getting something out of it they can’t get anywhere else. it’s the feast/scraps metaphor in a new light, and the show allows so much empathy for the people trapped in their own versions of the cycle.

it’s interesting to me how lowkey passionate about all forms of restorative justice ofmd is, but how it might be easy to miss if punitive justice is any given viewer’s unconscious framework for how all this works because it’s sort of... part of the show’s overall mission statement, i guess, but also one of my FAVORITE NARRATIVE TRICKS TO PULL

aka, the audience litmus test. shit like this is a reflection turned outwards and sort of... forces accidental commentary and gets very We Live In A Society funhouse mirrors real fast

i’m boo boo the fool. my retainer broke last year and i didn’t replace it bc anxiety and depression and bc mean girls from high school work at the orthodontist, and i finally went in for a new retainer and they suggested 10-12 months of braces again 😫

#me reassuring myself for the past year: my teeth probably only look bad to me no one else probably notices #the assistant BEFORE SHE EVEN LOOKED IN MY MOUTH after i told her my retainer broke last year: oh yeah i can see #what do u mean u can see 😭 #there goes my self esteem #my dentist (not ortho) said my bite looked ok and my front teeth could be fixed w invisalign but it isn’t necessary #so i was expecting to hear the same from the ortho #actually i wasn’t expecting to hear anything from the ortho yet bc i was only there for a retainer not an exam #but the assistant called him over when she saw my teeth 😖 #he said my bite shifted differently than how it was pre-braces and 10-12 months of braces could fix it #and two years of invisalign wouldn’t even fix it by 50% #i was anticipating doing like a few months of invisalign in the future #not being told invisalign can’t even fix my teeth 😭😭😭😭 #it’s all my fault tho and it’s been eating at me for over a year #thought i would feel relieved after going to the ortho but i feel worse 🙃
