I have begun reading #9 in the Amelia Peabody mysteries, "Seeing A Large Cat". In the early part of the book, they mention Theodore Davis. Emerson refers to him as a "wealthy dilettante". While Davis was not an actual archaeologist or Egyptologist, he was important in the world of Egyptian archaeology. Davis discovered artefacts relating to Tut. He believed, though, that there were no more relics to be found, once he found the items. Here is the whole story:

Netflix’s first big hit series is in itself a pastiche of the works of Stephen King, and now it comes in the form of this parody musical, which pokes fun at rather than venerates the source material. Writer of the book, music and lyrics, Jonathan Hogue is clearly a fan; the mockery he makes is always affectionate as it…
Great job to "The Young and the Restless" casting department for casting Hayley Erin as Victoria and Cole's daughter Claire/Eve!!! 😀 I at first didn't see it as she's dyed her hair blonder and when she played Abby her hair was blonde too, but finding this pic of her with light brown hair I actually see her resembling both Amelia and J. Eddie. The blonde hair is easily explained though as both her grandmothers Nikki and Eve are and Victoria had blonde hair too when she was played by the child actress in the 80s (and the first adult actress Heather Tom did too for a time). Actuallly surprised most of us didn't notice this earlier and figured out she was Victoria and Cole's, but it's been such a great surprise especially for us long-time viewers. And also love when casting directors actually find actors that can pass for family.
We had only two other guests—Howard Carter and Edward Ayrton, with whom Ramses had struck up a friendship the previous year. Ned, as he had invited me to call him, was the archaeologist in charge of Mr. Davis’s excavations. He got little credit from Davis, who referred to his discoveries in the first person singular, but since the American was completely ignorant of excavation procedures and disinclined to follow them anyhow, Maspero had required him to employ a qualified person.
