Eeva, a triptych altarpiece, acrylic on wood panel

a piece about t4t, my love of transgender bodies and the holiness of transsexuality

its the biggest painting ive ever painted, around 1 m 40 cm wide (with the side pieces) and around 1 m 20 cm tall. i had to relearn carpentry to work the wood panels into the right shape & screw them together. i had a super tight schedule and nearing the deadline worked on this almost 24/7 but i had soooooo much fun!!!!!

went down a rabbit hole of this subject.

Filippo Lippi, painter and carmelitan friar, and Lucrezia Buti, a nun, meet and fall in love while she poses as model for an altarpiece. Classic.

#dont be fooled by the canon of dynamic that seemed to get more artists going. she was absolutely into it #they eventually eloped together and gained the blessing of cosimo de medici to abandon their vows. they even had kids #also the painting thats in the first 2 is a famous of his but i cant find that its actually supposed to be lucrezia #the altar piece was another one. but he did draw her in other things after too. one time as salomè too #<- so jealous its unreal #art #oh but also dont be fooled by these paintings romantic approach he was not this handsome and also she was 20 and he was way older

🍇💘 happy rural dionysia! 💘🍇

This is my altar for today! Theres a candle for Dionysus in the middle (back), bracelet I made for him on the left, fluorite hearts carving on the right, and a peen shaped cookie in the middle (front)

As for dionysia activities, today I’ve prayed to him and accidentally fell asleep, made sugar cookies (with vanilla frosting & sprinkles), read hymns, prayed again, and now I’m probably gonna play some video games and maybe later watch a movie :3
