honestly, as much as i can see, this is about their comeback concept. except something min heejin would usually do (from concept perspective). it's not that much "as simple as that" because whatever concept min heejin (and possibly the girls) will want to do, it won't be that experimental and innovative. therefore, the stories of the double singles will most probably be ignored because it's already .. common. nonetheless this will be successful no matter what, so it seems that nwjns will have similar sound or the same as their previous songs.
should we worry of this?: temperance rx, queen of wands, the empress rx • 7 of pentacles
to some extent.. yes but because of the boycott some fans (not specifically bunnies) are doing because they want to remove scooter out of the corporation ador and newjeans are in. ador is DEPENDING A LOT on these album sales because this brings the company independence from the corporation's team. however, i don't see significant decrease but sort of gradual (like if for their previous album they had 600k sales in their 1st week, now it can be 500k or 400k, sth like that). i am unsure how much chinese people can buy for newjeans too bc of their own issues with the paper, or it was the inflation, i really cannot remember, but this can play significant role too. still, i feel the boycott the most.
how the comeback will be percieved? (card pov: bunnies, bunnies, overall, k-netizens, outsiders • bottom card): the tower rx, justice, 10 of swords rx, the star, queen of swords • 7 of cups
bunnies: there can be some sort of riot from bunnies because of the symbolism of the concept min heejin is making. i can see the mixed opinions some of them will have (example: newjeans is talking about politics somehow, bunnies will either defend it or will just be furious about it, the mixed opinions might be rare occurances). they will like the songs but not the story behind it.
k-netizens: they'll LOVE it!
outsiders: this era will make newjeans more known in foreign lands than before possibly due to connections hybe have with the usa radios and etc. i don't feel achieving something significant :|
overall: i'd say as usual as the reversed 10 of swords is usuaully a neutral card of mine. they can be more expressive though from one or another side.

newjeans might start promoting even more into foreign lands. i've read about japanese debut, right? this seems bold and risky desicion from ador's side, or even hybe's side (i feel ador more tbh). although newjeans will release one of these singles as japanese cf ost first in april, this is just .. it feels really risky. i understand the anticipation, and i am not saying it won't be as expected or even exceeding it, but ador should act very, very cautious in the japanese industry as i see that at some point (i am putting the fanmeet aside and also the debut) hybe will try to force their connections into newjeans in japan either for the group to promote more in the western industry or to overwork there. the comeback seems to do well though. i wouldn't say like usual though as this is more visible behind the scenes for some reason.

I'm so happy!!! I missed our boys so much! 💎
The T5 release will be in July and the actual comeback is in August. That means there will have been 11 months between 2 album releases and that seems insane to me. But Treasure has worked so hard this past year, they literally didn't have time to comeback sooner. How do other groups do this? Straykids, Twice, NCT etc they go on tour but still have multiple comebacks per year. How?? Are they not severely overworked or is JYP, SM, HYBE etc just better at time management? (that might be it tbh lol)
It feels unfair to ask of artists to have a comeback during or immediately after a (world) tour, but fans see so little of a group during a tour that it feels as if they weren't doing anything (no new music or big promotions etc)
For example Blackpink has been on tour since oktober 2022 and it will last at least until August 2023. That's almost a full year of touring! Jisoo had her solo debut and they did Coachella and they will perform at Hyde Park.
Right now everyone is saying that they deserve a break, Jennie performed 3 songs with an IV drip today, but had to leave the stage because she felt so sick, Jisoo had covid last week, the girls have all been seen with injuries. Only now will fans be sympathetic. The tour will be over, October 2023 will come and go and people will complain and riot that Blackpink should have had a comeback by now, only a month after their world tour ended.
And like, I'm not pointing fingers here, I've also been impatiently waiting for Treasure to make a comeback. I've had to remind myself how hard they've worked since last october.
They did so much promotion on youtube for Hello era which gets overlooked a lot because they did less in-person promotion in Korea.
Immediately after the comeback promotions, they did 'Hello concert in Seoul' + The exhausting Japan tour from November until January while also rehearsing and attending award shows. I remember being so worried for the members because that schedule was inhumane, it was way too much. Half the members had gotten sick, Junkyu lost his voice for three concerts, Jihoon was severely sleep deprived etc + they had to film content for Treasure World Map (which all Teumes should watch btw! it really doesn't get enough appreciation. Every episode makes me cry tears because they truly act like family 😭)
January and february they were seen filming Tmap + that's when they probably filmed a lot of the new episodes of T-talk, 3 minute treasure, fact check and tmi-logs + they shot the welcoming collection
March was the start of their Asia tour where they kept shooting for TWM + multiple members have said that at the same time they were working on the comeback.
My point is, they have had back to back schedules for the past year, they couldn't fit a comeback anywhere until now. Ideally, Treasure would take a well deserved break now, the tour ended, maybe they could visit their families (I was shocked when Jihoon said he only sees his family 3 times a year because of their busy schedule) or travel or maybe just rest for a few weeks and take a break from their Idol life... But they can't... Because it's been almost a year since their last comeback and fans are getting anxious. Just this week they have barely uploaded on social media or communicated with Teume (probably because they've been so busy preparing for the comeback) and already fans were having a hard time (me included btw and I feel bad because I still have a lot of Treasure content to catch up on, but it's not new content you know? So it's just not the same 😶)
All of this to say that I'm so happy Treasure is having a comeback but seeing Jennie so sick during Blackpinks concert and getting the Treasure announcement on the same day... It just made me think about how much fans ask of Idols... fans keep asking for more until their favs are sick or injured because they are overworked and suddenly fans change their mind (They should rest!, the tour should be cancelled! etc) but they will have forgotten about that by the next day, because it's always more fun to get content and it fucking sucks to wait.

about the credits and outside producers, the way song credits work is that the name(s) listed first are the people who contributed most/are the main composers, so it's like a ranking. and in all songs it's woozi first, then bumzu, then sometimes another member, and only then the outside producers. it does give me hope that woozi (and bumzu) really took the lead with the songs and the other people maybe worked on details or gave input to "enhance" it. there's also no real way to tell with the names listed later how much exactly they contributed - they could have added a synth in the chorus or something and it was enough to get them credited. this is me trying to be optimistic haha 😅 i'm so torn on this issue to be honest, on one hand i don't want these strangers to mess with the process and take too much credit, on the other hand it's good to introduce some variety to their style and sound and it's also an opportunity for woozi to learn from these professionals and grow. but yeah all in all i agree with the anon and you, there's too many random names on the track list this time :/ i guess let's reserve our judgement until the album is out and until then let's trust the boys and be open minded, it's not like we can do anything about it anyways </3
Omg I got so worried seeing so many different producers on the tracks and then I felt ridiculous for it, so seeing other ppl having the same reactions makes me feel better. I just hope the tracks still have sincerity in them, like you said. BUT because Woozi, Bumzi and Prismfilter are in most of the songs I have faith that they wouldn’t release something they felt wasn’t on-par with the group’s image, you know? And rock w u had a lot of different producers and arrangers involved but it still ended up really well (it’s actually one of my fave title tracks).

yeah, i am aware that's how the credits work, but it is a good point to bring up for anyone who might be super concerned about this. if there's ever a song where the svt members or bumzu aren't credited as the main producer i'm sure carats will really riot, esp if it's a title track lol. but i am comforted that that hasn't happened yet, and i'm hoping hybe has enough common sense to not let that happen. although i feel like they've increased the amount of outside producers with each comeback, so a part of me is worried that it's just going to continue to escalate
i often get frustrated that we can't know how much a person has contributed to the song other than the general order tbh. like you said, they could just contribute a small part. which on one hand is a comforting thought that woozi and bumzu are still largely in control, but on the other hand, if they're only contributing a small piece, it feels even more unnecessary to have all these people
i agree that having variety and letting woozi collaborate with other producers isn't necessarily a bad thing. i just wish it were like... two or three new outside producers on an album as opposed to like... 15 you know? that would just feel more reassuring (to me at least) that hybe isn't trying to take over svt's music or change their sound. which may not be what they're doing, but that's just how i (and i think a lot of other carats) feel when we see that many unfamiliar names on the tracklist
i agree with both of you though that we should keep an open mind and just try to enjoy the music regardless. there's nothing we can do about the production now, and it still looks like woozi and bumzu took the lead. just because there are other producers on the tracks doesn't mean the songs are going to be bad
i think it's also important to keep in mind that if you don't like any of the songs, not to blame it to heavily on the other producers or act like it's the worst song in existence. i saw this a lot with rtl and to a lesser extent with rwy and i don't think it helps anyone. it just makes people who do like the song feel bad about it. and it's also important to keep in mind that the boys, especially woozi, still worked hard on the songs. it's perfectly okay to not like a song, and it's okay to share that opinion, regardless of who produced it. but don't try to find a deeper reason for why the song is "bad". it's okay to just not like it, doesn't mean it's a bad song or that others can't like it. and as the first anon said, we can't know for sure what each producer contributed anyway

this coachella performance is just...so bad. its really, really bad. so far, the most interesting part has been the dancers having their little moment before boombayah and typa girl, but like...the girls are BARELY coordinated, they arent dancing in sycn with eo, and its NOTICEABLE when they are lipsynching. even their vocals when they sing is b a d.
i would LOVE to hear isolated vocals during lovesick girls bc that shit was SO out of tune. their vocals have been pretty good, too! like these girls can sing! rose and jisoo are pretty decent singers! even lisa and jennie have cute vocals! but you cannot look at me after hearing the vocals of that performance and say that was good. rose fudged the lyrics, jisoo straight up sang off beat, and lisa and jennie lypsynched most of the time. they are acting like amateurs, which is insane given how long theyve been in the game and the fact that theyre TOURING RIGHT NOW.
after the HARSH criticism they received for their shit stage presence and timing back when they started touring, youd think they would actually take that to heart and do better, but this is horrendous.
and credit where credit is due, the stage looks really cool. i love the colors i love the outifts i love the hair and make up, they all look amazing and gorgeous so far. the dancers are amazing and thank god for them bc otherwise this would be unsalvageable. and also props to jisoo and rose for singing almost the entire time. but everything else? it really sucks.
its just really disappointing bc they do know how to put on a show. their first ever coachella performance was AWESOME. they SHOWED the fuck up back then. they were really good! and then this new comeback happened and they have just given up. they dont give a shit anymore lol and if they do, that makes these performances even worse. theyre supposed to be professional and his is what they do?

VALORANT Episode 6 Will Be a Nightmare for Serious Players

When Riot lifted the curtain on Haven in 2020, the Valorant whisper network started buzzing with praises; someone had finally broken away from the typical FPS game layout. The forgotten monastery became professional players’ favourite map, but some were still on the fence about the three sites. It seems Riot is sure about the new layout. Enter Lotus, the worst nightmare for dedicated players of Valorant episode 6. Haven is popular among professional players, but it’s simply not cut out for fast-paced ranked games. Now, having two maps with three sites in a map pool of seven is a disaster waiting to happen. The triple-site aftermath should unfold in a few weeks, shaking up the Valorant meta for the worse. Valorant’s triple-site maps are a terrible idea Maps with gimmicks like dual-mid or triple-site work well in pro play. You spawn with a team of five capable of executing the complex strats. Months of practice, coordination, and communication act as catalysts. But, when you play Valorant to rank up quickly with random players, communication isn’t always warranted, let alone strategising. Haven isn’t just popular among pros. It’s a favourite. The map is heavily attacker-sided, with 52% of matches going in favour of attackers. You’re set for the rest of the game if you pick attacking first on Haven and bag the majority of rounds. For example, if the half wraps in a 9-3 score line at best, defence feels like a picnic. But casual players don’t have the luxury of picking sides. If you get thrown into the game on defence, losing the majority in the first half is enough to break morale. Comeback potential on such maps is high, but it’s tough to keep hopes up of random players ready to tab out of the dull game. GG Go Next! Breeze is out, despite being newer than other maps. But Haven stays, along with Lotus, a map that bears a similar threat of three sites. Lotus, however, isn’t just big; it’s also more rambling, with ample rat corners and revolving doors. Now, players in ranked will have to stroll on two large locations without communication. We can already feel the silence ringing in our ears; Lotus doesn’t only sound boring, it’s a map where solo players may never see the green winner screen. FPS maps must provide balanced grounds for competition. But, three-site maps naturally benefit the attackers, no matter how easy it is for defenders to rotate. Holding two sites is a tall order; now imagine doing it on three. Attackers can march into an empty site on the back of an intel-gatherer. Conversely, defenders must read patterns, identify a mock execution, and run across the map carrying a knife. Winning as defenders on Lotus and Haven requires a well-thought-out composition. In competitive Valorant, a few players care enough to hover on their desired agents and put thought into the lineup. In contrast, attackers rely only on an initiator to help gather early information. This imbalance was negligible on one site, but two sites are a recipe for a sloppy Valorant meta. Large maps in competitive Valorant slow down the pace of the game. On the other hand, maps like Icebox, Bind, Split, and Fracture are all excellent. But Riot needs to get the layout for large maps right. Ascent is a perfect example of a map that’s more on the larger side and fits right into the Valorant pool. It’d be interesting to see how serious Valorant players adjust to the labyrinth that is Lotus. They may need luck more than aim! Valorant map nine is already making waves, but winning won’t be easy. Paging Healer Malfoy // Chapter Five - Past Hauntings (D.M.)
A/N: CHAPTER FIVE!! Dates and drama, what more could you ask for? I actually wrote most of this before I even started to write Chapter Four, I was that excited for one bit! I hope you all like! All my medical knowledge comes from ER, so if there’s anything wrong, I apologise!
Summary: Draco has finally asked (Y/N) out, but will their date run smoothly?
Warnings: I made up a jinx, mentions of injuries, brief descriptions of procedures, strong reader, fluff, swearing, mean old men, mentions of food, kissing - IT ENDS WITH A BUTTLOAD OF FLUFF.

Draco lands on (Y/N)’s doorstep half an hour before their reservation at a bistro recommended to him by Dean.
He releases a shaky breath before knocking twice on her front door. Draco had only been to her home three or four times through the length of their friendship; (Y/N) much preferred to relax at his place and at his, she was closer to the hospital should she be called for anything.
Calming his heart, Draco fiddles with the cuff of his white shirt; ensuring that just enough poked out from underneath the black suit jacket he had chosen to wear.
It takes another knock at her door for (Y/N) to answer; she wrenches the door open with an apologetic smile, “I’m so sorry, Draco, I’m almost ready. I just need to find my shoes, jacket and bag and we can go.”
“Don’t apologise,” He laughs; his nerves abating somewhat, “You were dancing weren’t you?”
(Y/N) flushes, “How did you know?”
Draco points above him; to her bedroom where he can hear the well-known sounds of ABBA playing, “You love ABBA, it makes sense you would dance.”
She rolls her eyes, “Alright Sherlock, I was dancing to ABBA and I lost track of time, is that better?”
Draco laughs, nodding, “Much better.”
She smiles, “Good. Let me go grab the rest of my things and we can go.”
Draco doesn’t verbalise his response; he simply nods at her, watching her walk away, admiring her outfit. (Y/N) wears figure hugging tailored trousers; tapered so they’re tighter at the hems. His eyes rake over her body as she climbs the stairs to her room; he chides himself for not acting like a gentlemen but the stirring desire in his veins tells him not to bother.
(Y/N) rushes back down the stairs; almost tripping on the last step as she bounces around, trying to slip her foot into her heel. Draco lurches forward; reaching for her just as she topples forward. He can’t help the laugh that leaves his mouth, “Are you okay?”
She stands with a huff; hoisting her bag on her shoulder having put her jacket on upstairs, “I’m fine. Shall we get going?”
Draco smirks; holding out his arm for her to take, “As you wish, Dancing Queen.”

Draco had booked a table at a small bistro; nothing overly fancy, but still cosy enough to retain the romantic atmosphere he hopes will continue throughout the date.
It’s not an overly large restaurant; fifteen or so tables all covered with red and white gingham cloth. A small kitchen resides in the back of the bistro; the scent of Mediterranean herbs making Draco’s stomach rumble as he and (Y/N) are led to their table.
“How did you find this place?” She asks, sliding into her chair, shucking off her jacket.
“Dean recommended it to me.”
(Y/N) smiles, “I was gonna say. This doesn’t have ‘Malfoy’ written all over it.”
He raises an eyebrow, “And what does?”
She taps a finger to her chin; deliberating with a small smile, “Michelin Stars, for starters. Huge plates with tiny portions of food, and expensive wine lists.”
Draco holds his hands up in surrender, “You’re right. However, my father is the sommelier of the family, I simply drink the stuff.”
(Y/N) snorts, “Is Draco Malfoy a rebel?”
He blushes at her teasing tone; glancing back down to the menu in his hands. A satisfied smile spreads across (Y/N)’s face at the sight of leaving Draco speechless; he so often had comebacks ready. It was a treat to see him so affected by her.
She peers down at the menu, “What are you thinking?”
“Is it completely stereotypical of me to go for the steak?” Draco ponders.
She shakes her head, laughing, “I may have been thinking the same thing.”
They hand their menus over to the waiter; giving their orders and choosing not to drink. Instead, they stick to water. Work tomorrow would be easier if they didn’t have a hangover to deal with as well.
“How long are you on tomorrow?” Draco asks.
(Y/N) shakes her head, “Let’s not talk about work.”
“I can do that,” He comments, “What would you like to talk about?”
She raises an eyebrow, “How did you know I was listening to ABBA? I thought you didn’t care much for muggle music.”
Draco flushes, “I don’t care for a lot of muggle music.”
“But you like ABBA?”
Draco nods; trying not to roll his eyes, “I like ABBA.”
(Y/N) laughs; clapping her hands together in delight, “That is my new favourite thing about you, Draco.”
“Oh?” He smirks, “What was it before?”
(Y/N) flushes as she averts her eyes; glancing around the room, “Truthfully?”
“Now you have me worried…”
She shoots him a glare, “I won’t tell if you’re going to be an arse.”
Draco holds one hand up in surrender; the other crosses over his heart, “I promise I won’t be an arse tonight.”
(Y/N) smiles shyly, “Your eyes.”
“My eyes?”
(Y/N) nods; the flush spreading to her neck as she bites her lip. The specific knowledge settles in Draco; making its home in his heart.
She recovers quickly, “What about you?”
“What about me?” Draco counters; knowing exactly where she’s going with this.
“What’s your favourite thing about me?”
Draco shuffles in his seat; butterflies running riot in his stomach. He reaches for his glass of water; wetting his mouth before speaking, “I don’t have a specific thing.”
(Y/N) visibly deflates; disappointed at his words, “You don’t?”
Draco nods; deciding honesty to be the best policy, “My favourite thing about you is all of you.”
“Oh…” (Y/N) whispers; a mesmerising smile breaking over her face and leaving him breathless. She opens her mouth to say more; to say what she feels in this moment, but as the words start to form on the tip of her tongue she’s interrupted by the arrival of their food.
With practiced flourish, the waiter places their food in front of them. The smell and sight making Draco’s mouth water. He digs in after sending a broad smile over to (Y/N) who watches Draco with bright eyes and a large smile herself.
Conversation is little as they eat; the both of them practiced in the art of needing to eat and rushing off to the next patient.
They get halfway through their main courses when Draco’s pager sounds. He looks at (Y/N) apologetically, “I thought I had turned it off. I told the hospital that I was off for the night, not be called in at any time.”
(Y/N) moves to answer, but she is interrupted by her own pager sounding in her bag. She glances at Draco sheepishly; the apology glimmering in her eyes as she reaches for it. Her expression changes as she reads over the number on the screen; Draco feels so concerned he can’t help but reach for his own pager to read what’s on the screen.
It takes them less than five minutes to pay the bill and rush from the restaurant; hurrying into a side alley to apparate to the emergency room.
They’re greeted by Vera; she looks them up and down, “Did you drink?”
Draco and (Y/N) shake their heads, “We’re both on tomorrow; we stuck to water.”
Vera thrusts trauma gowns at them, “Good. We need you sharp.”
Draco’s senses hone in; attention becoming laser sharp and focused. The shift in him is visible all to watching him; the relaxed posture dropping away to make room for the attending. He looks to Vera as he slides on goggles, “What do we have coming in?”
“Large raid on one of the last death eater hang outs. A battle broke out; everyone injured is coming our way,” Vera shakes her head, “It’s even being reported on muggle news; that’s how bad things got.”
“ETA?”
“Less than two minutes.”
Draco exhales, “Where are the trainees?”
“Behind you Healer Malfoy,” Matthew Kinghorn’s voice calls out.
He turns to find all four already gowned and gloved, ready and waiting. He meets the eyes of each one, “This will be your first large trauma, am I correct?” At their nods, he continues, “Okay. Split off to your attendings; do not get in the way. Help when you can but do not overcrowd. Kinghorn, I want you with me.”
Matthew startles; already heading towards his attending. Draco shakes his head; waiting for the other trainees to file away, “I want to see how you handle a trauma situation after I saw you with our impalement. We don’t exactly know what’s coming in but stay alert. If you think you’re going to be sick, leave the room. Do you understand?”
Matthew nods; remaining silent, following Draco as the first of the injured roll up.
From there, it’s close to a blood bath. St. Mungo’s is the only wizarding hospital in the entire country; supposedly equipped to handle such traumas. However, when the patients are from two groups with such differing ideals, keeping them separated is difficult.
In his head, Draco plans to make another appeal to the Minster for Magic; wondering if Hermione could help him persuade the powers that be for another hospital.
Piercing screams distract Draco from his plans to expand the hospital. With Matthew close behind, Draco rushes towards the sound. Being wheeled in by medics is a young Auror; barely out of his twenties or so Draco assumes – his face and body have been burnt so badly by a jinx that it makes it difficult for Draco to age the patient but also for the patient to offer anything but his screams.
The moment they enter the trauma room, Draco administers a pain potion. In cases like this, the survival rate was low. The most that could be done is to offer as much comfort to the patient as possible.
Draco looks over to Matthew, “How are you feeling, Kinghorn?”
Matthew’s gaze finally meets Draco; his skin looking rather green, “I’ve never seen something so bad.”
“Cases like this are rare, but they do happen. Now, the patient isn’t getting enough oxygen with the mask, what do we need to do?”
Matthew flounders; Draco adjusts the mask on the patient’s face, repeating his words, “What do we need to do, Matthew?”
The use of his first name snaps his out of whatever stupor, “Intubate. He needs to be intubated.”
“Have you seen one done?”
Matthew nods, “Healer (Y/L/N) showed me last week.”
“Good. You know what they say, ‘see one, do one, teach one’. Get over here, Matthew,” Draco leans over the patient, “Sir, we’re going to have to put a tube in your throat to help you breath.”
The patient nods; a tear falling down his face as he realises the likelihood of him coming off the vent is low. At the patient’s nod, Draco administers a sedative – to help the patient and Matthew through this. Draco looks to Matthew; nodding his head slightly for him to begin the procedure.
Matthew bounces to life; rushing to the head of the patient. Draco hands him the scope and tube needed for the procedure; speaking him through it as Matthew visualises the cords, slipping the tube down the patient’s throat – aiming for the lungs and not the stomach.
(Y/N) joins Draco as Matthew finishes intubating the patient; the need for muggle medicine a priority when the jinxes and curses were so bad there was little chance of recovery. This particular patient had been hit with the extensive burn jinx – a nasty jinx that isn’t seen too often as it causes third degree burns across 80% of the body; spreading across the body like a wildfire, giving the witch or wizard hit a low chance of survival.
“How did you find our first date?” Draco asks as (Y/N) begins to debride the burns; giving the patient some chance of relief.
(Y/N) smiles at him from over the trauma, “It’s like you knew exactly what I wanted.”
Draco can’t help the laugh that escapes him; quickly regaining his professionalism, however and apologising to the patient even though he is sedated. He looks back to her, “Can you handle it from here?”
She nods; eyes flickering the trauma room behind, “I’ve got it. I’ll find you when I’m done.”
Draco grins at her; pulling off his gloves and gown before rushing into the next trauma. The patient is agitated; shouting and screaming at the nurses, leaving Jude Prewett scared but firm as she talks him down.
The Auror only gets angrier at the sight of Draco; hollering for the whole floor to hear, “I won’t have you treat me! I demand another Healer. Get me another Healer.”
“Healer Malfoy is the best Healer we have,” Jude reassures; eyes flickering between the patient and Draco.
The patient shakes his head; adamant, “I won’t have a Death Eater treat me. He’ll kill me just as he would look at me.”
Draco wants to shout; wants to get in the patient’s face and list all the ways he’s repented since he was a scared and vulnerable sixteen year old, doing what he thought was right for his family.
He doesn’t though; he sighs sadly, stepping back from the patient, “I understand sir, I’ll go fetch another Healer,” He looks to Jude, “Are you okay for a few more minutes while I go get Healer (Y/L/N)?”
Jude nods; eyes sad from Draco’s quick dismissal. As Draco returns to trauma room one, he hears Jude say, “I hope you know you just insulted one of the best Healers we have.”
(Y/N) looks up as Draco re-enters, “What’s wrong?”
Draco shakes his head; hating the lump that has formed in his throat, “Do you mind treating next door?”
She nods down to the patient she is currently working on, “I’m busy here. Why can’t you do it?”
“He doesn’t want to be treated by me. Wants another Healer.”
“Why?” She demands; voice angry, eyes angrier as they glance into the room behind Draco.
“We’ll talk about it later. Will you please treat him? I can take over here.”
(Y/N) looks like she very much wants to argue with him, but she decides against it. She nods quietly; handing Draco her scalpel before disrobing, “What’s his name?” She asks, referring to the patient.
Draco shrugs; focusing his attention on the burn victim, “We didn’t get that far.”

(Y/N) liked to believe that she was patient; she knew when she began her training as a Healer that she would need to learn the art of patience and fast for there are some patients who have a list of medical complaints a mile long.
However, she did not have any patience for the narrow-minded Auror ranting before her.
“I can’t believe a place like this would hire him.”
“Hire who?” She asks; daring him to say it.
“Him,” He spits; jutting his chin to next door when (Y/N) knows Draco works diligently over another Auror who may only have hours to live due to the extensiveness of their burns.
“That man you’re spitting about happens to be working on your colleague.”
The Auror rolls his eyes, “My colleague wouldn’t be in his mess if it wasn’t for families like his. I knew who he was the moment he walked in the room; Lucius Malfoy’s brat.”
(Y/N) grits her teeth; continuing to stitch up the man’s arm; refusing to rise to his vitriol. He takes her silence as permission to continue, “I’m surprised we didn’t find his father there. We certainly found a lot of his friends; hiding together like rats, plotting their next uprising as if the last one worked. Who are they going to worship now? The Dark Lord is gone.”
“And yet,” (Y/N) breathes, “You cannot say his name without being scared.”
The Auror glares at her; not happy to have his courage questioned. He remains silent through the rest of his treatment; seething at her words, knowing that she called him on his bullshit.
(Y/N) removes her gloves, standing from her chair, “I would say that it’s been a pleasure to heal you given that you’re an Auror, but it hasn’t. I will be contacting your superior for the abuse you’ve shown my colleague – who, for your information, has nothing to repent for. I understand questioning the adults that followed Lord Voldemort, but you do not get to question the children who were innocent bystanders in a game they didn’t understand.”
The Auror laughs menacingly, “Speak to my superior, see if I care.”
(Y/N) grins, “I will. You’ve ballsed up big time – want to know why?”
The Auror remains quiet so (Y/N) tells him anyway, nodding towards Draco, “Your boss is one of his best friends.”
The colour fades from the Auror’s face and (Y/N) admits to herself that she rather enjoyed telling him what’s what. Patience is something that (Y/N) is still learning; even almost ten years into her career, but what she will not stand for in any form, is bullying.

Draco takes a moment of leave from the burn patient when his family arrive in floods of tears; asking about statistics and whether he was positive that nothing could be done.
He doesn’t see the commotion, but he hears it; her voice travels down the hall, easily leading Draco to her. He finds her gesturing wildly to an unprepared Harry Potter.
Harry catches his eye; pleading silently for help. Draco makes his way to her side; placing his hand on the small of her back, “What’s happening here?”
“I was just tell Harry about that lovely patient we have
“Auror Flintlock?” Draco asks; taking the chart from (Y/N)’s hands.
Her hands settle on her hips, “Potter, you have to do something about him. He was wildly inappropriate towards Draco.”
Draco sighs, “Patients can refuse to be treated by certain Healers, (Y/N).”
(Y/N) purses her lips; her attention still fixed on Harry, “I want to see him at least written up and giving an official warning for how he continued to speak after Draco left the room.”
Harry nods, “He’ll be written up, (Y/N). He’s been skating on thin ice for a while.”
(Y/N) folds her arms; a victorious look on her face, “Thank you, Potter.”
Harry smiles; nodding at them both, not missing their closeness. He makes a mental note to mention it to Draco the next time they go drinking. Harry looks towards trauma one, “How’s he doing?”
Draco pats Harry’s shoulder, “80% thickness burns to most of his body. It was a nasty jinx, Harry.”
“How long does he have?”
“Hours,” Draco states plainly, “His family is with him now.”
Harry nods; silver lining his eyes, sighing, “Good. They should be. He’s been on the force less than a year.”
With little else to say, Harry leaves Draco and (Y/N) – fulfilling his duty as an Auror; going to comfort the family of one of their own.
Draco and (Y/N) retreat to the break room; never officially being on in the first place. Like always, the ancient television set only displays the muggle news in a hushed volume; the red banner skirting across the bottom of the screen announcing an unexplained explosion on the outskirts of London. The news anchor repeats how lucky it was that no-one was hurt. Draco represses the urge to roll his eyes; muggles weren’t hurt, that’s correct and he’s thankful for that, but his emergency room is filled with Aurors and Death Eaters alike – all injured and vulnerable because of what happened tonight.
Draco settles at the round table in the middle of the room; sighing in relief at getting off his feet for a little bit. (Y/N) sits next to him; her hand reaching for his across the table. An act of affection so naturally displayed that it sends Draco’s heart rate through the roof.
He regrets the fact that their date had been cut short, but with any luck, (Y/N) wouldn’t mind a repeat. He thinks to their brief conversation in the bistro and for a second, he wonders whether she would protest much to his version of wining and dining. Reservations needing to be made weeks in advance; wine lists four pages long – each bottle with multiple zeroes behind the name. He realises he would like to show her the world in which he grew up; the fancy dinners and balls, but he also accepts that he would be happy in any world as long as he’s with her.
“Are you staying with him?” (Y/N) asks; concern in her eyes.
Draco nods, “I’ll stay with him through this. Matthew will need me to help pronounce.”
(Y/N) nods, “I’ll stay with you too.”
He reaches for her hand, “Thank you.”
She squeezes once, shrugging, “One thing’s for certain, you’re not a boring date, Draco.”
“It’s about to get even more wild,” Draco drawls.
“Oh? How’s that?”
Draco points to the pile of unfinished paperwork near his locker, “We have all that to work through.”
(Y/N) fans herself, “Slow down, Romeo. Paperwork is a second date kind of thing isn’t it?”
Draco laughs loudly, “So you see a second date?”
(Y/N) beams at him; pulling a pen from her bag, “I see a second date.”
------
Two hours later, Matthew interrupts their squabble about news anchor’s to say that the young Auror’s oxygen levels have dropped. Draco stands; knowing it won’t be long now.
It isn’t. Less than ten minutes after entering the room, Draco helps Matthew pronounce the young Auror; explaining the death kit and how the nurses do it.
(Y/N) looks up when Draco re-enters the break room; the question written over her face. Draco nods; silently confirming her suspicions.
They apparate back to his place; neither of them hungry after such an extensive trauma. (Y/N) throws herself on the couch; groaning at the softness, “You know, this is the comfiest couch I have ever sat on.”
Draco laughs; picking up her legs and settling them over his as he sits down next to her, “Are you just saying that because you wore heels all night?”
(Y/N) frowns down at her bare feet; having kicked off the offending footwear the moment she landed in Draco’s flat, “That could be part of it.”
“I knew it!” Draco declares with a broad smile, “You only agreed to the date so you could lay on my couch more.”
(Y/N) stretches her limbs out, “Can you blame me? This couch is a gift from Merlin himself.”
Silence falls between the two of them; it’s not awkward – far from it. It’s the kind of silence where they both know they’re thinking over the night’s events and remembering the young Auror who passed less than two hour ago.
“You didn’t have to do that earlier, you know,” Draco whispers.
(Y/N) sits up the couch; swinging her legs around. She cuddles up to Draco, “Yeah, I did. I saw your face in there, I had to do something.”
Draco shakes his head, “It wasn’t the first time; it won’t be the last either.”
“What do you mean it wasn’t the first time?”
“I mean that it wasn’t the first time a patient has refused to be treated by me,” He sighs; heart heavy as he thinks of the early days of his career when the mark on his arm was as dark as the day it had been seared into his skin, “There are still those who have not forgiven my family for their involvement in both wizarding wars.”
(Y/N) frowns; staring up at him, “Why didn’t you tell me?”
Draco shrugs, “Truthfully, it hadn’t happened in a while. Auror Flintlock was the first patient in almost a year to refuse my treatment.”
“You still should have told me.”
“I know,” He admits, “Will you forgive me?”
She clicks her tongue against the roof of her mouth, “I don’t know,” She starts, “What’s in it for me?”
Draco chuckles; leaning in to her, “What would you like?”
(Y/N) takes it upon herself to connect their lips. She brushes her lips against Draco’s softly; to gauge his reaction. Draco gasps gently as the touch; unexpected but definitely not unwelcome. She pulls away; a hairsbreadth away from him, but he surges forward, reconnecting their lips in a kiss that screams pent up emotion and long-lasting love.
She lets him take control of the kiss; surrendering herself to his mouth and wandering hands as he presses her further into the couch.
They’re a mess of hands, lips, and tongue. Her hands work on the white button down he wears; unfastening the buttons and pushing it from his shoulders before running her hands down the flat expanse of his stomach.
Draco shudders at her touch; briefly wondering if whether this is what it feels like to internally combust. He’s dreamt of this for long so; sometimes waking up in the middle of the night with the taste of her in his mouth and desire lighting up his veins.
Her hands continue wander as he slows down the kiss; slowing their pace so they move together languidly. He doesn’t want to rush a thing; he wants to feel every inch of her set him on fire.
Breaking the kiss, Draco pulls her from the couch. She throws him a puzzled look as he leads her into his bedroom. Draco gives her a questioning look; searching her eyes for permission, making sure she hasn’t changed her mind since the couch. With a small smile, (Y/N) tugs Draco towards her by grabbing his belt.
He connects their lips once more, kicking the bedroom door shut behind him.

Following that obey me post I reblogged about a gen z mc, and seeing how I already thought about this a couple times, I decided to write this! Enjoy~
ALSO,, sorry for disappearing for two days, I didn't really have any ideas nor motivation to write,,
When the vampires see a teenager coming out of the door, they kinda think "oh shit". An adult is something, but a teenager? It's a big responsibility
Gen Zers are very independent and autonomous so you often tell them not to pamper you nor treat you like a child, you know what you're doing and you can handle your responsibilities
You work hard and you're humble, often saying self deprecating or suicidal jokes, making everyone look at you like 👁👄👁are u ok, but you tell them it's normal and not to pay you any mind
Some of them will just get worried at how much self deprecating humor you use but you just keep using it to confuse them even more lmaoo
You particularly get along with Vincent for his good vibes and his dedication to art. You really love staying there with him and watch him paint, often asking him questions about his technique and stuff
You compare him to Bob Ross and start rambling about him to Vincent, who on the other hand thinks must be a very good man
Mozart would be the second member of the mansion you spend most time with if it wasn't for the fact that he likes being alone and your presence disturbs his work more often than not
Despite this you offer to sing/show him some songs from your time so that he could play them for you and find some inspiration. It's a win-win situation for both, especially since your phone died after 3 days of your stay
This brings you extreme pain. We all know how phones and electronics are a dependance to most of us, but you ask Leonardo and Isaac to help you create a charger and a socket to charge your phone (you'd still be without internet but you could at least show them photos of the 21st century)
You admire Napoleon a lot. He started a mfing revolution for civil rights! How cool is that? Also, rebellion and equality run in your veins, and you find yourself telling him all about the protests in your time
You tell him about suffragettes, stonewall riots, the blm protests, etc. listing all the reasons why they started, how they ended and what they achieved
Napoleon listens carefully, relieved and proud about the fact that there are so many people still fighting for they rights and to achieve freedom
Seeing the fire in your eyes as you talk about it reminds him of his younger self, a feeling of nostalgia accompanying him for as long as you stay and making him act kind of like an older brother
Your strong sense of justice and your fiery personality, make you very "responsive" to Shakespeare's schemes. He wants to start some weird shit? You will flip him over and kick his ass while giving him a 45 lessons long course about ethics. He won't be doing any toxic shit on your watch!
You and arthur communicate through vines. You taught him all the vines you knew and you're extremely proud of this. On the other hand, Arthur is very happy to have another way to confuse and make fun of the other residents

The amount of chaos you bring into that house eye-
No one is able to get a hold of you and you have a sassy comeback for every joke is thrown your way
Whenever Theo refers to you using a dog analogy you just tell him "someone here is pretty kinky huh? Good job theo, implying these kind of things in front of a child like me~". This statement has both Arthur and Vincent holding Theo back before he does anything out of shame and anger lmao
You aren't the sweet and innocent angel you seem to be, and everyone realizes this pretty soon
Jean almost passes out after he hears you say with all the confidence in the world that God doesn't exist and you definitely wouldn't fear him even if he was up there. The amount of sacrilege things you say hurt his soul
But something that doesn't go unnoticed is that you respect everyone's opinions and ideas even if they are different from your own (unless they go against equality and human rights, in that case you're more than ready to throw hands)
Anyways, random fights and general chaos aside, you also bring a lot of positivity in the house. Everyone's quirks, diversity and positive sides are respected, enhanced and appreciated by you. Everyone's faults are accepted and you help them become the better version of themselves.
Your flexibility, awareness and knowledge on subjects like depression and mental illnesses make you the official therapist for these very sad vampires
The fact you're also very perceptive and don't step any of the residents' boundaries makes you even a better presence! You can kind of figure out what's going on in their minds without making them uncomfortable
When you go back to your time everyone can feel the void you left behind. Days pass by without your laughter echoing through the hallways. Your genuine interest towards everyone's problems now replaced with the hard and cold truth: you weren't there anymore.
But who knows, if they waited long enough, they might meet you again when fate decided to reunite you all

Gwen Stefani had begun working on new music before the lockdown hit, but says it was only when she brought up the idea of reintroducing herself to her collaborators that inspiration struck. “I'm not trying to force myself on anyone, and I'm not trying to have a comeback,” she says with a laugh. “I’m simply going to do some music without feeling defensive about it. Whoever likes me can listen. If you don't like it, you can actually say you don't like it! I don't care. I just want to put music out.”
After cutting a song in February with rising songwriter and producer Luke Niccoli (who’s worked with buzzy acts like Yves Tumor, Miya Folick, and Joji), Stefani was virtually introduced to pop hitmaker Ross Golan (Selena Gomez, The Chicks, P!nk), who suggested the trio write about exactly what the singer was feeling: a desire to remind people that she’s not just records collecting dust on your shelf.
“Let Me Reintroduce Myself,” released Monday, is a feel-good return to the ska/pop/reggae hybrid — record-scratching, horns, a walking bass line — that Stefani perfected during her time fronting No Doubt. Using her downtime in Oklahoma during the pandemic to dig back into ska’s roots, she immersed herself in the history of the genre, leading her to feel like now was the right moment to return to the sounds that first put her on the map 30 years ago. “All of the riots had happened, and I just started thinking so much about when I started loving music and why,” she says. “It was eighth grade when I learned about ska and Madness and the Selecter and all those bands that started to define the kind of music that I felt like I fit into; here I was, this Catholic girl from Anaheim doing reggae music! But that music was all about unity and anti-racism, and that was in the '70s. Then we were doing it in the '90s. And now here we are, again, in the same old mess.”
After the “Let Me Reintroduce Myself” writing session in late August (for which she later cut her vocals safely at the Los Angeles studio, the Village), Stefani began referring to Golan and Niccoli as her “song soulmates,” joining forces on a handful of other Zoom-born songs since then that will, if all goes according to plan, see the light of day some time in 2021. But for now, the No Doubt singer’s new track is a welcome return to form after five seasons judging The Voice, twice topping the country charts with fiance Blake Shelton, and building upon the success of her first-ever Christmas album, 2017’s You Make It Feel Like Christmas. “I just said, "I want to do some reggae,’” she remembers. “And it was just this weird full circle moment, because as soon as I started telling whoever I was going into the studio about that, they were so inspired too.”
In a call late last week, Stefani walked EW through returning to solo music, revisiting her back catalogue on the heels of Tragic Kingdom’s 25th anniversary, and how some of her biggest hits have gained new resonance in recent years.
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: How are you feeling knowing this song is about to come out? GWEN STEFANI: Under the circumstances, to be able to put out new music is just beyond a gift. Even if it wasn't a pandemic it would be exciting, but it's crazy with the pandemic, you know what I'm saying? I just didn't think it was going to come this year or that I'd be this lucky.
What was your headspace like as you went into writing and recording new solo material this year? Well, this is the deal: I haven't really put a record out in five years. That's a long time. I don't know how it went by so quickly. I would have loved to, but I was doing the Vegas show [Just a Girl] and that took up a lot of time. Before that, I toured the record before, [2016’s This Is What the Truth Feels Like], and the next thing you know, five years passed. I also was feeling like... "Does anyone really want to hear new music from me?" It's so much work to make new music, and I think about all the bands that I loved — I don't go looking for their new records. I just listen to the stuff that I liked in high school .
Somebody sent me a song called “When Loving Gets Old,” and I really loved it. Nobody sends me songs. Why doesn't anyone just send me, like, “Umbrella”? I got this song, I actually liked it. I went in to record it. The girl that sent it to me said, "They actually wrote this for you." And I was like, "Really? No wonder the lyrics feel so good. Why don't I write with them?” We wrote this song called “Cry Happy,” made up of all of these lyrics I’d written on my phone. We had this really great day, but I had to rush home to the kids. It's so different these days; you get there and you have to get home to cook dinner, so I didn't get to cut a demo. That was last February. And then we hit lockdown.
I spent a hundred days in Oklahoma, doing laundry and cooking. We had 15 people there. It was an incredible pause on life to be there at the ranch with the boys and just have this surreal lifestyle for a while, but nothing to do with the life included creating music or anything like that. But Blake happens to have a studio there and had to do some work and brought an engineer in. So I recorded the vocals on “Cry Happy,” and that was like lighting a match to a wildfire because I was like, “My god, I’ve got to do music."
You felt inspiration again? I felt all kinds of inspirations and ideas. It's like God saying, "You’ve got to do this now." When I get that urgency, you can't stop me. I'm like, “I’ve got to go write songs. That's what I need right now. And I don't even care if anyone hears them, or if they think they suck, I'm doing it, now.”
When I got back to L.A., I went into the studio. Everything was plastic-guarded. You get your temperature taken. Everybody's wearing masks. By then, all of the riots had happened. I started to go back and investigate ska and reggae, and I found all these documentaries about how ska was born in the 1960s, how that was linked to the Jubilee when Jamaica was being freed from England. Starting No Doubt, we were the third-wave imitating the 1960s.Then I found this documentary on a school in Jamaica called the Alpha Boys School, which was run by Catholic nuns. There's this little white Catholic nun called Sister Mary Ignatius Davies who helped nurture reggae music. You can see all these pictures of her with these little boys and they're learning these brass instruments. The first ska band that was ever born was these kids out of Alpha Boys School, the Skatalites. No Doubt used to listen to them. Doing my research, it all just felt so full-circle.
So this music was born out of that. I wanted to go back and make something that was joyful and back to my roots, where it all started. [Pre-pandemic] I’d been in the studio with Luke Niccoli and he's the one that said you really should work with my friend Ross, who turned out to be someone who really gets my sarcasm, and the fun side of my lyrics. We really hit it off.
With Luke, we taught each other a lot, especially when it came to ska and reggae, because I kept saying, "Dude, no, listen to Sublime. It has to have scratching in it. It has to be '90s." So he was discovering all this stuff that he didn't know, but bringing his technology and youth to the sound. It was a perfect kind of combination between the three of us. And we wrote a bunch of songs together and I know we're going to write more.
Lyrically, “Let Me Reintroduce Myself” addresses the idea of people thinking of you as a relic. Is that how you feel? At the beginning of this process, I feel like I had to make excuses for why I wanted to make new music. I felt like people were going to judge me and be like, "Well, you're like super old. Why would you even want to?" This is just how my brain works. Anyone would, you know what I mean? Everybody has their own fears or insecurities.
Ross’s reaction was [for us to incorporate] a way of saying, “Well, I haven't really gone anywhere if you really think about it.” I just had a No. 1 hit on [country] radio ["Nobody But You"] — two of them actually, because the next one's ["Happy Anywhere"] going to go No. 1 soon [Editor’s note: it did, 24 hours after our call]. We were just trying to say I haven't really gone anywhere. I'm still doing the same thing. I still wear the same kind of stuff that I've always worn. It's just an evolution.
“Let Me Reintroduce Myself” references your past, lyrically and visually. Some artists are really loath to look backwards, but you seem extremely willing to. Why is that? Five years ago, when my life blew up in my face, there was a lot of looking back. Music has always been a really amazing place to pour my heart and emotions into. It's like therapy.
When I was offered to do the Vegas show — a huge milestone for me — it was very reflective. I think it's an incredible thing to put out new music and have your sound evolve, whether it be through the No Doubt years or the three solo records I did. The first solo record [2004’s Love. Angel. Music. Baby.] was very much a dance record — that was the pop music when I was in high school that I wasn't into, but was the backdrop of my life. Back then, I said, "You know what? I want to try to make that kind of music. I want a dance song." It was so incredible to be able to work with all the talented people that I did and have such a different kind of sound like that, which made me want to do the second record, [2007’s The Sweet Escape].
The third solo record was not born in the same way. It didn't have a reference for the production. It was just, “How do I get through this time in my life? I've got to write these songs. I don't care how they're dressed up sonically. It's just getting them out.” During the process of doing that, I fall in love and I'm writing a song about my life basically being over and then starting to fall in love at the same time, all with one album.
After that, it was like, how do I evolve? When you do a new record, usually everything comes with that: the tour, the merch, the vibe. But when you're doing a Vegas show, you don't have a new song. You don't have anything new. How do you create a show around everything you've done? So there was a lot of looking back and thinking about, “How do I make this feel super nostalgic? How do I make this feel like, when everyone's coming from around the whole world to see me in this room, we have this common story, and that these songs were the backdrop to our lives?”
This year marked the 25th anniversary of No Doubt’s Tragic Kingdom. How has that record changed meaning for you over the years? I don't really like anniversaries. I don't really celebrate like, “Oh, I wore that in 1995. Now it's 10 years later, woo!” But then when it actually happened and I started seeing everyone posting and seeing all the stuff that we had done — things I don't remember, until I see the image — I was just overwhelmed, like, "Oh my god, we did that?" It was a really emotional couple of days. I really enjoyed hearing just how much that record impacted people. It really is truly mind-blowing to me that I get to do music, let alone to be part of people's lives in that way. It's hard to wrap my head around it.
I'm really proud of Tragic Kingdom. It was a very weird album. I was so naive. I didn't even know how to write a song. I don't know how I wrote those songs because I didn’t know anything back then. But doing the Vegas show was a really reflective time, because doing a song like “Just a Girl” every night felt more relevant than ever, especially in the last couple of years with the rise of the #MeToo movement. It feels like history repeating itself. We've come far, but we haven't. I always thought that I would outgrow that song and be a woman and not be able to sing the words “I'm just a girl” anymore, but it felt more relevant than it ever felt in my whole life. It was bizarre.

To anyone who’s seeing this for the first time: what this is a list of observations, jokes, reactions and criticism which occur to me upon a rewatch. I wait every week until Saturday to do this so that I have had my fill of scrolling through the tag and aggregating what has already been said. I tried doing a whole spoof (here where I gave up 10% in) but tbh a) I don’t know the history well enough b) it’s more time consuming than I thought and c) this series is just not as funny or as crazy as TWQ, so it’s untenable. Having said that: This is not a hatepost. I’m not hatewatching this series and nitpicking on purpose but expressing my honest views and trying to find the good in it as well as the bad.
Without further ado...
First Scenes: 
LMAO the way Wolsey suggests they break their alliance with Spain is freaking hilarious because the actor delivers the lines as if he were a high school girl making a personal attack by suggesting the prom change its theme to 70s disco to the chagrin of the peppy up-and-coming rival.
Also @ Henry VIII looking like the peppy up-and-comer’s bff and shy stan with that pencil bite and small smirk when Catherine loses her cool against Wolsey.
I’m sorry... who is Henry married to again?
Also what is Margaret Pole doing at the council meeting?? I’m not saying I don’t like it.
Margaret Pole warning against certain repetitive thinking creating madness :(((
Attempted Naked Twister:
Oh Catherine, what is with you and all the other STARZ protagonists and that weird politcky bedroom talk? Who actually finds this sexy?
‘Catherine you are unnatural’ ooof that line delivery was somehow haunting.
Was the whole ‘I can’t be rushed you are off-putting with your overpowering’ a callback to Arthur and Catherine? Apparently there’s another writer for this episode so I won’t put all subtly past them. 
Scotland:
‘Shitey men’ asdkjashd
Look I’m tired of all this ‘my children won’t be safe’ line getting repeated. Look mate, murder of royal infants and children was not exactly a common occurence, even in cases of deposition. The Princes in the Tower are an exception to this but a very infamous case for that reason. Child murder was extremely taboo. In situations like this with an infant kid, no one is going to bother murdering the babies and taking their thrones, the lords will just vie for power and make themselves de facto rulers and oust the queen. It’s not a question of safety but a question of holding power. Stop giving all women characters perma mummy brains.
Maggie being all caring:
‘Barnaby’ *scoffs* ‘Such an English name’ - OH MAN 0_0 is Catherine mocking them for trying to adapt ? Like I know it’s meant to show her envy for Lina, but it’s coming out all messed up.
Our girl Maggie’s smile screams I’m beating your ass in chess.
Anyhow this is the least histrionic we’ve seen Catherine so far.
Chaplain vs Catherine:
I’m interested how Catherine will feel at Stafford’s execution given that I have noticed this show build up to a friendship between them.
Why is everyone laughing at the whole ‘will you delight us with new schemes’ line was not that funny?
LMAO at Thomas Boleyn’s attempted brown-nosing. 
You know what? Ruairi is a decent actor. When he says ‘so you admit it? you lost the child because you tried to be a man?” the actor conveys Henry’s troubled mind, lowkey scare towards Catherine and bewilderment all in one. The way his eyes do not move but just widen emotionlessly also gives this sense that he is being manipulated (which I guess they are going for with Wolsey). Then the whole choir music in the background.. I don’t know.. I’m liking this, it’s creating a vibe of a king of haunted and increasingly paranoid Henry. I’m sure they are going for that, so good.
Ursula Pole and Mama:
Maggie Pole say ‘riches don’t keep you safe’ with tears in her eyes :’(. Please tell me how this is not her thinking on her parents and granddad Warwick and what befell them ;’(.
I find Ursula refreshing actually, don’t get those types of heroines often. But they are making her similar to a gold-digger, an exhalted marriage was first and foremost considered a thing of honour. Noblepeople wouldn’t speak in such mercenary terms regarding their marriages. 
Post Mary Defiance:
I love the ‘horse’ nickname from Brandon n’awwww
Also just realised what made TWQ so atmospheric - that wierd ‘oooo’ sound effect in the background when a character was being paranoid or worrying. They are using it during Henry’s ‘How is it that I have no sons?’ and it is just... so effective.
Catherine calling them ordinary children... she just keeps striking me as more and more classist. Like ok, I know every royal was... but still, I thought she was meant to see Lina as a friend and equal despite her race and status. To add the race element, this kind of rubs me the wrong way.
Also it is so clear by the end when Catherine states how the king is upset with her, she expects Maggie to ask her about it.. but she doesn’t lmao.

I like how they address that some men don’t really like killing and that violence isn’t inherent in a man’s nature.
Oh man, are we supposed to look at Lina’s house and deplore the impoverished conditions? It would go for at least 3,000,000 pounds in today’s property market?
Is Catherine being particularly classist again with ‘Why u not becoming a butcher Wolsey, ey?’. 
Though I will admit the ‘but giving meat to the poor is also good’ was one of her only smart comebacks.

OOOFF we have Stafford as regent instead of Catherine. (edit: I suppose it’s cause they go to France which they didn’t historically? Also if Stafford is at home then what is his son later doing in France, why would he be there without his father. This show didn’t think this through)
Meg Singing:
An impassionate speech is not too anachronistic. But despite the title of this post (what hasn’t been said) I will reiterate that 16th century and Medieval people’s problem wasn’t that they were ashamed of their grief and didn’t cry. In fact, crying was somewhat more socially acceptable then than it even is now! Even manly men like Arthur were written as crying in literature such as Malory’s Morte d’Arthur. Obviously you couldn’t go overboard, but in truth crying was indeed often too performative rather than hidden too much behind doors.

God Mary Tudor is so beautiful in this scene jesus. and the music when she was being presented was also very beautiful.
Maggie Pole getting given ‘a modest income’ yeah... she was one of the wealthiest peers of her day.

William Compton cracks the hell out of me. I love this guy. He is just so creepy and twisted yet super keen and friendly. ahaha He looks like a riot, I hope we see him more. lmao tiles.
Also this palace feels very anachronistic almost 18th century-ish.
I like the Louis and Mary sequence, it’s nice seeing him trying to make her feel less scared, but OMFG when he lay on that chair.. for one second I thought they were trying to kill him off already.
Scotland: ‘Love is an open doooooorrrrr’ + Last Scene:
I ship Meg and Douglas ahhhh this soft boi x strong woman match is everything Henry and Catherine could have been.
I wonder... why is Lina speaking in Spanish more than Catherine. hmmm Are they trying to foreshadow Lina’s eventual return home and how Catherine become a true englishwoman?

I cannot in all fairness believe it. This was actually decent. I’ve given up on historical accuracy long ago so by this point I’m focusing more on how it stands as as drama. I mean, TWQ was also a flop when it came to grasping the complex issues of that era but why do I feel compelled to rewatch it every year? Because it had atmosphere when it came to acting, music, certain aesthetics (though the costumes let me down often). It felt adequately gothic and dark, yet bright and jewel-lish when it had to be, sometimes both at the same time. Some one-liners were also memorable etc...
So far TSP 2 did not have any of this. Everything felt way too off and anachronistic. But not even consistently anachronistic. The music was also often very meh (though I just noted the absence of the spanish stringy theme that kept playing in season 1 - I guess I understand why), the dialogue very clichéd (‘alright lads let’s throw in the words: king, crown, power, fight, battle + other buzzwords and we have ourselves Shakespeare’) and so on... but I saw a change in this episode and I couldn’t initially point out what it was.
Upon rewatch, I identified some of the improvements (noted above) but above all: The producer was different! Boy does it show. Unfortunately, I think she is only for this one episode which really sucks. Come back! There is more chemistry between the couples, less predictable interactions, pervy Compton, cinnamonroll Douglas, better music, more scenic shots (e.g Douglas and Margaret in church) e.t.c. I hope it will match the rest of the STARZ productions in getting better towards the end.
Look it’s no masterpiece. But I’ll give credit where it’s due because at least this time it didn’t leave me feeling wanting and unsatisfied (if that makes sense).
