Your ideal type based on astrology 💕

We'll look at the Venus, Mars and Moon for this one. Since Venus is who you tend to be attracted to, Mars can be more physical and Moon is emotionally. (Can be also applied to Moon, Venus, Mars and DSC persona charts)

Aries placements/aspects: People who can take the lead. Confident, bold and unapologetically themselves. Intimidating a bit. Dominant. Athletic too? Very passionate. Can be into people that would fight for them or just very protective as well. Brutally honest. Aries natives (like Gemini) need someone that can keep up with them, because they're always moving. They get bored often which can lead to them acting impulsive. Aggressive appearance. People attracted to females may tend to like the "Instagram baddie" type of girls but people attracted to males can like traditionally masculine strong guys. Ohh and the rbf! (Resting bitch face).

Taurus placements/aspects: Neat and classy. Someone that dresses well and takes care of themselves. Someone that doesn't cause trouble. Calm and relaxed. To be honest, they'd probably prefer someone financially stable. Taurus's don't like to play games, as their very devoted and like stability, so someone that isn't devoted isn't a good match for them (but it also depends on certain aspects as well). As a Gemini rinsing, I really like someone that's outgoing and fits my vibe. Gemini placements tend not to go well with a very quiet and introverted person. Someone who they can talk freely with. Tend to like someone with a type of "duality" in their face (can have a masculine and feminine face at the same time basically).

Cancer placements/aspects: A caring person, the type that hates everyone that isn't their loved ones. Very loving and (sometimes) affectionate. Cancer's value emotional connection and a deep bond with a person. You can have the looks, status and everything else, but someone that they can't connect with isn't a great match. Cancer's have quite an intuitive nature, so they want someone that understands them and can deal with their moody natures. Appearance wise can like someone that they can "protect" (like when you see someone and you're like "I wanna protect them, they're so cute).

Leo placements/aspects: Oh they're all about fun! Even though they don't like someone overly sensitive, they're sensitive themselves and need a lot of support and reassurance. Always wanting to be and feel "enough". They want someone that can match their loyal nature and can get really possessive at their worst. If a Leo Venus doesn't go showing you off to people and doing it all, THEY DO NOT LIKE YOU!!

Virgo placements/aspects: Virgo's tend to have high standards and are picky with a lot of things. Are you unemployed? Do you smell? Immature? People critize Virgo placements for this (which is ironic because Virgo's are the one supposed to do the critizing) but the truth is, they like a lot of order. They want their partner to match them which is why they tend to be reserved because they're just waiting for that special someone.

Libra placements/aspects: Libra placements have the reputation of being players which yeah, BUT TO A CERTAIN EXTENT! They have a lot of charm and draw people in (even the ones that are more reserved). They want a partner that can "complete" them. They also want to be the perfect partner and want to make their partner happy. Yes looks do play a factor for them, as Libra rules over beauty but also the arts so they like a creative person. These people really like nice people that are considerate.

Scorpio placements/aspects: Like Taurus placements, Scorpio's don't joke when it comes to devotion and with connections. They're sensitive and take a lot of things personally (I know a guy with a Scorpio Sun, Mercury and Pisces moon and he was.. something!). Attimes, they feel like people don't "get them". Someone that can deal with their intensity and doesn't ridicule them is they perfect person for them. People merely reduce Scorpio's to sex gods/goddesses but they gloss over that they get really vulnerable and need someone that can hold them and connect with.

Sagittarius placements/aspects: Sag's are very fun and free-spirited. They don't like to be held down by tradition and like adventure. They like to try new things without feeling restrained. They would be attracted to someone that is independent like themselves. (Also like people of different cultures/races). Sag placements want someone that they can learn and explore with. The funnier, the better. Sagittarius natives feel uncomfortable with someone that's too intense and serious.

Capricorn placements/aspects: Capricorn dominant here 💁🏾‍♀️. So it's safe for me to say that Capricorn's value stability. During the beginning, Capricorn's can play "hard to get" and seem detached but in reality just want someone that doesn't play around. From a young age, they've been serious and mature when it comes to this. Capricorns like someone that can support themselves and want to be the supporter as well. These people don't really like to rush and want to be very sure of a person before taking steps further with them. Like Virgo's, they're reserved and would settle for someone that is "the one" for them. They want someone realistic and grounded.

Aquarius placements/aspects: Aquarius's are similar with Capricorn's in the whole detached aspect. The major difference between those two are that Aquarius's are separate from societal expectations about romance and dating. Though, they really like people that are smart. Not really book smart but someone that they can have smart conversations with. Aquarius natives are not a fan of overly attached and sensitive people. It's weird to them, they want someone that's a bit detached. Aquarius natives are attracted to people that are independent and are their own person. Pisces placements/aspects: Pisces get really attached to someone. Like Cancer Venus, their sensitive and intuitive. They don't joke with romance. re: evan dating news

whoa, okay, i don't know what prompted the flurry of messages today but there's just no way for me to address each one individually, so i'm going to attempt to generally answer some of the common questions people are asking. i'll pin this post for a little while in hopes it will reach all those inquiring.

background: on friday, i received an anonymous message containing an instagram story saved as a highlight titled ''best vday EVAN'' which featured a man filming his roommate getting ready for a date, he says, with a celebrity. the woman was trying on different outfits to decide what to wear. according to the anon who sent it, they (anon) were already aware of evan and this woman's involvement and felt comfortable sending me a message, because the woman's roommate essentially outed them on his public page, which has a few thousand followers.

in the following days, the roommate of the woman in question posted several instagram stories about evan's appearance in ariana grande's music video/bopping to the song. it's also been discovered that the woman in the instagram story has mutual friends/acquaintances with evan on instagram.

this is all of the information i have presently, the only thing i have omitted is anyone's social media handle. i chose to delete my initial response to the ask that contained the link to the instagram account of the roommate and the woman alleged to be dating evan currently. please understand that after considering it, while it is technically ''public'' i can't in good faith leave identifying information up knowing that while the vast majority of you are lovely, level-headed people, i am unable to control where the information shared here spreads to or who sees it. there are troubled people who frequent this blog with severe boundary and mental health issues, who have stalked me personally on my own personal social media accounts in attempts to dox and harm me. considering the people involved are not public figures or celebrities who have chosen to share this aspect with the masses, i do not want to put them in a position where ''fans'' may harass and bother them. BUT.. this is a gossip blog. tea is what we're here for, so what i will do is share information if the story develops further and i have reason to believe any leads received are credible. remember, this is all speculation and not presented as fact.

so, with that said - anon who asked: yes, you are certainly allowed to share but i won't be posting any identifying information that could bring harm to anyone. feel free to message me anonymously or on a burner account should you feel comfortable that way.

Do you see memes and shitposts about Alexander and his time? If yes, do you like them, you hate them? Would you change something about these memes?

I’m sorry. I’m just really curious about what a professor thinks about this. Do you perhaps have a favorite Alexander meme?

Well, for me there’s a big difference between memes and shitposts. The former can be rather entertaining, the latter are just trolling. Don’t feed the trolls. I realize I’m perhaps defining shitposting more narrowly than some, but there’s enough of the narrow sort out there I don’t want to confuse it with memes.

Meme are great. I have two favorites, although not about Alexander, ironically. I’ve shared them below. Both show up in my class Power-points, btw! Many of my colleagues also enjoy clever memes. My buddy Borja Antela was trying to collect some on Alexander last year. For a while, I followed Alexandergoatmemes on Instagram, but finally left because about 85/90% of them seemed to be about Alexander naming cities after himself. Sure, it’s funny maybe the first 20 times, but at 100+?

So memes are great. Shitposting and ignorant-posting, however, are annoying.

I’m deliberately creating that third category. Shitposters know they’re posting shit; ignorant-posters (usually) don’t. The latter put up videos, tweets, or blog entries about (in this case) Alexander that perpetuate a lie, a false quote, or an oversimplified-and-mostly-wrong factoid. Some ignorant-posters are just reposting what they heard because they don’t know any better and may receive correction well enough—especially if offered politely. Yet others get upset (sometimes disproportionately so) when their errors or distortions are pointed out.

This can be about controversial matters, such as Alexander’s putative “sexuality” or it can be something surprising. I once had a fellow fly off the handle when he posted that Alexander was left-handed and I (gently) corrected him.* You’d have thought I’d called his mother a whore. It seemed quite silly…except that left-handedness used to be considered a Very Bad Thing. So being able to claim famous people as lefties was apparently more for him than just leftie pride.

Aside from oddities, most of the ignorant-posting I’ve seen comes in three main types.

First, we have the religious/spiritual/life-coach sorts who usurp Alexander for a moral lesson—not unlike the orators of the (Roman-era) Second Sophistic, or both Muslims and Christians in some of the Alexander Romances. Alexander has ALWAYS been a malleable figure for lecturing. Ergo, he pops up in homilies/sermons as a parable, like his supposed Last Three Wishes. It is, of course, total bullshit, but there’s quite a lot of stuff like it out there. People read it, go “Aww,” and reblog without bothering to check if it’s correct. It has “the authority of hearsay.” These can be either Alexander-positive or Alexander-negative parables, btw.

See also: quotes attributed to famous celebrities that they never, in fact, said. Alexander gets these too. The ¡Inspirational! “Army of Sheep Led by a Lion” is especially egregious, as it’s a general proverb that appeared well after Alexander (no, he didn’t say it). It seems to be currently popular, along with, “There is nothing impossible to him who will try” (also not ATG). Yet these make great quotes for those damn “Inspirational Posters.” Here’s a whole page of them, lion quote right at the top, suitable for a Power-point!...with no attempt to verify their authenticity or say where they got them. But the image with the quote below is especially funny as they even put a date on their fictional quote. If it has a date, it must be true! Netflix, btw, used that bloody quote even though I told them not to; it was fake. Didn’t matter.

Second, we have the alt-right/white supremacist groups, or hangers-on who might reject the label (coyly or not) but embrace much of its Eurocentric thinking. These folks present Alexander as spreading good [white] Western values to the poor benighted East [brown people]. It’s essentially warmed-over Plutarch with a dash of Curtius and some Arrian. Their Alexander even sometimes has longish flowing (blond) locks and is oddly tall.** Like Thor. I stay the hell away from them but have occasionally stumbled over them on Tik-Tok.

Anyway, the alt-right crowd may have read some about Alexander, written by other alt-right guys who take material from a carefully curated set of “accepted” histories: Arrian and Plutarch, and not just Plutarch’s Life of Alexander, but his double-essay from the Moralia, “On the Fate or Fortune of Alexander.” They tend to be war/conquest-approving and see the Greco-Roman past as some pure Aryan utopia from which we’ve fallen into our “wretched age of iron.”*** Of late, a lot of their associated images are AI generated, btw. A couple examples below.

Last, and on the opposite end of the spectrum are the Alexander-was-Queer-AND-Wonderful, and oh, boy, some of them also don’t want a single bad thing said about their hero. They may know relatively little about his life aside from his putative gayness, but are just as resistant to/resentful of being corrected in their errors and romantic oversimplifications.

And that is what all of these categories share: oversimplification for the sake of a particular social and/or political agenda.****

Isn’t it, then, also shitposting? No. Because shitposters intend to stir the pot. They may or may not believe what they say, but they’re saying it TO get a reaction. Like the Tweet Heard Round the Alexander-verse after the Netflix thing (below). THAT was a shitpost. His entire goal was to go viral, and he succeeded.

By contrast, ignorant-posters usually aim for a particular audience and rarely expect to go viral outside their circle. Nor do they expect to be corrected. When they are, they react with surprise and anger. (Again, there are exceptions.)

I tend to observe these things, but rarely engage—although I did engage more when I was a young grad student. Now if I reply, it’s general (as here), not to the original post/tweet itself. TBH, I have books and articles to write, classes to teach, and papers to grade. 😉 I don’t have time for flamewars.

* Yes, I made Alexander left-handed in Dancing with the Lion, partly for the hell of it. But there’s zero evidence one way or the other—which I point out in my Author’s Note at the end of book 2, Rise.

** BTW, there’s a Whole Thing out there online about Alexander as tall, even Super Tall, claiming evidence which they don’t actually cite (correctly). Note the “many stories suggest….” Oh, really? These are? Anyway, I don’t think the author of that blog entry is alt-right—which is why I put it as a footnote—but dig the wacko AI white-haired Nordic Alexander at the top! And I’m still chuckling at a 7-foot-tall Alexander. Good Lord, how tall would that make Hephaistion?

*** Yeah, that’s a little bow to Hesiod’s theory of the Ages of Man.

**** Note that I didn’t include Greek Nationalists. While some of them also swing right (Golden Dawn, Front Line, National Reform Party, etc.), many are more moderate. Alexander is a Greek hero, and if what’s presented about him by some is also oversimplified to fit a national narrative, it doesn’t spring from ignorance so much as deliberate choice and what they learned in school/at home. Think about what the average (white) American knows about George Washington or Thomas Jefferson, or for that matter, the average native person about Tecumseh or Crazy Horse.

Thanks Michelle! Choosing five fics was like trying to choose a favourite child which is to say, it's impossible. Okay, that's a lie, my favourite child is the one who is not sucking the life from my soul at any given moment. Yesterday both of my kids got a turn - first my youngest, because he very sweetly packed me a little fun size Crunchie bar from his personal stash of lollies and brought it to the movies for me and kept checking whether I'd eaten it yet and if I liked it. But then later he was being so loud I couldn't think, so his older sister became my favourite child because she told him to be quiet. Anyway, I'm turning into one of those recipe bloggers who can't give a recipe without sharing their whole life's story, so here is my list of fics I'm proud of in which I absolutely cheat by sharing some fic series:

I'm really so proud of this lawyer AU! I had an absolute blast writing these fics and I think it shows in my writing - it's definitely some of my best. What, like it's hard? is the first really substantial long fic I've ever written and that in itself was a challenge but the snarky rivarly between Alex and Henry is just so fun to write! Whenever I see comments roll in on these fics it just makes me smile so hard to see other people enjoying them

Soon (Tarlos)

PWP but make it bite-sized (aka 37, 100-word chapters). This started as a drabble but then I got the slightly unhinged idea to continue the fic in drabbles (ie precisely 100 words at a time). Was it a challenge to write only 100 words and make sure each chapter told enough of the story in so few words? Yes. Did I have so much fun edging Carlos and the fandom alongside him? Also yes.

artist!David unwittingly helps Patrick find himself and finds love along the way. This one is a little different in style to my usual writing, and I really leaned into the slightly more poetic style in the second part which I actually structured around a poem.

A 5+1 exploring TK's relationship with love and self-worth. I don't usually write much angst but I dove into it for this one and I like how it turned out! Don't worry, it has a happy ending, I'm incapable of writing anything else!

aka my Tarlos gym AU - each of these fics (Let's Get Physical, Let Me Hear Your Body Talk, I gotta handle you just right) stands alone as a one-shot but they are part of a planned seven-part series which contains an actual plot, despite the way they read like pwp. The thing I'm most proud of in these fics though, is the coding - with a big assist from @celeritas2997, I learned to code well enough to embed actual instagram posts and DMs with photos in these fics, which for someone who is absolutely not a STEM girlie, is a very big deal.

What do you think BTS will do next as soloists? Which member has been the most impressive in Chapter 2?

Hi hey hello :) I’ve been MIA for months but I’m surprised to see I’ve still been getting lots of asks. Did you miss me? Did ya did ya did ya? Going by the number of messages in my inbox I’d say, yes :) Sorry for ghosting you guys; I simply got bored with BTS and stopped keeping up with the group as whole. Meanwhile, their solo era has been fun to observe, huh? Some things I expected, other things I did not. I’m sure you’ve all missed supop thoughts. So, without further adieu, here are my guesses for 2023-2024, in no particular order:

Truthfully, I’ve been trying to post for the past 3 days but tumblr is glitching, and none of my posts are saving. Just as I was about to say F it.... if you can read this, then the issue must be fixed, right? This post hasn’t been proofread, so ignore any grammatical errors and the weird use of punctuation. I have a flight to catch soon, so I’ll answer more asks when I land, and as always.... keep it cute~

Individual YouTube channels (starting off with this because there’s been rumors about it for months now; I doubt all members will have one, but I feel like j-hope or Jungkook may go this route. I actually started to believe it when j-hope posted about his new Leica camera a while back. I know he’s into photography, but there’s always a deeper meaning behind everything he does/posts and he’s been carrying that camera around to all the events he’s been attending; maybe it’s just me overthinking, but it’s giving vlog material at the very least. Each member has a YouTube topic channel, but this will likely be a platform for more direct professional/business use where other creatives are featured or personal use for vlogging, trips, unedited material etc. without constant company oversight; aka without every single piece of content being scheduled by bighit/hybe and distributed via weverse; I also wonder if any more of them will get solo shows like Suchwita on the BangtanTV channel)

Individual Twitter accounts (this one seems farfetched, but so were their instagrams at one point; if they do indeed go this route I can eventually see some members leaving it up to the company to handle their respective social medias while others take a more hands-on approach with their fans—since instagram alone already seems like a struggle for some; they can also repost content from instagram which would also give them more individual exposure since the two social media platforms tend to have completely different audiences; it would also be nice for collaborators/brands/media to be able to tag them directly instead of @ the group account; finally, there’s a reason why each member has stuck to uploading all personal content on their respective instagrams since Dec 2021, so expect the group Twitter to become even more desolate than it already is if this does happen)

Individual TikTok accounts (Instagram, YouTube and Twitter....then why not TikTok too? It would make more sense when it comes to promoting their solo music and once again connecting with their respective audiences/fanbases; it only makes sense for solo artists to promote their solo work on solo accounts especially when their music and personalities are all so different; that’s 7 different audiences that should be catered to instead of trying to fit everyone into one big purple-colored box. All 7 members together represent BTS, but no single member is a representation of BTS; there’s a reason why JITB is completely different from anything BTS has released as group, and it’s the same reason why Indigo is so different from JITB; someone who likes JITB may not care for 90% of BTS’s discography and the same would apply to other members’ solo albums that have yet to be released; this is the obvious truth, but armys will continue to delude themselves as if the term bias doesn’t exist.)

Individual Facebook pages (and lastly, Facebook because all artists need a Facebook page to be able to link their music to their personal Instagram accounts; the BTS official Instagram account has it but when you scroll through you only see JK and RM’s music, which to me isn’t fair to other members who have music under their official Spotify profiles; the members are artists first, right? not influencers, therefore, artistry should be respected in a similar manner)

Opening their comment section on Instagram (limited comments are boring, but i don’t blame them; I’d sure they’re well aware that a select group of their “fans” are unhinged; just look at the way those same “fans” have attacked people who they’ve deemed to be “wrongly” associated with them or people they’ve “accidentally” followed; honestly I’m also worried about the occasional wave of hate/d.threats some members would receive in their comment sections from deranged akgaes; I will never understand not liking someone, yet going out of your way to invade their public accounts or content posted related to them just to spew hateful nonsense or send d.threats about how much you don’t like them; take a breather because it’s never ever that deep. And if you ever feel the need to take it that far towards anyone (celebrity figure or not), then may your pathetic existence quickly reach its expiration date; people also seem to have a lot more balls on instagram, so it’s a good thing Instagram’s safety features are a lot better than Twitter’s—i.e., the report and block buttons def work)

Following more people on Instagram (lol honestly following 0 people isn’t anything new from the celebrity pov and we can all thank Bey for establishing that, but following only your 7 group members is just...meh; are they gonna live as 7 for the rest of their lives? No, but they probably have to keep it this way otherwise there’s a possibility that every single non-bts related account on their following list would be harassed and stalked to oblivion by deranged fans; not to mention as it is, BH/Hybe staff already do such a great job at leaking private info related to BTS, you would think their proximity to such high-profile celebrities would result in ironclad NDAs but I guess not...sigh when will we be free)

Individual brand deals/endorsements (this one is already under way and was really really obvious from the start because we all know “7 or nothing”—not necessarily their bond but the way they’ve been marketed to fans—has always been nothing more than a sales gimmick; seriously not every member will have the skillset that a specific brand is looking for, so let’s let the ones who shine, shine; instead of trying to sell the lackluster ones as a package deal; “buy one get one free” should never apply to people; for the members yet to be announced there’s been rumors of various brands so let’s just wait and see...hopefully no controversial brands are chosen.

Individual fashion global ambassadorships (similar to the above, except I think only the members interested in fashion should get involved in this, but then again, this is the k-entertainment industry we’re talking about, and as of late ambassadorships have become part of the whole “album promo” package deal; either way I’m sure the money is good for BTS, and at the end of the day it’s a win-win; interest or not, the artist gets paid and the brand gets “exposure”) **side note: ambassadorships are cool, but the real deal would be with whichever brand pursues a true partnership with the artist by creating a collaborative fashion line or collection that expresses their artistic vision through fashion and/or even a performance that speaks to the brand’s image. pretty red carpet and campaign pictures are nice, but what the world needs is a tangible piece that can be held or tangible memory that can be seen. I think that’s what truly separates the artist-turned-fashion icon/creative director/business mogul from the rest.

More fashion week appearances (so far we’ve gotten Louis Vuitton, Dior, Hermès. I’m glad j-hope didn’t/hasn’t yet? signed with LV otherwise we never would’ve gotten 3 completely different, yet ultimately iconic looks from him in the span of just 3 days; Jimin for Dior; Suga for Valentino; other members may also attend shows for the brands they will be announced as Global/House Ambassadors) **another side note: Hobi wore clothes from LV’s unreleased collection which is rare feat in itself and he was also invited behind the scenes, shown the collection prior to the show, and he entered and exited the venue via a private entrance that was reserved for VIPs. I also saw a photo of Hobi with the Arnaults. Do you know how difficult it is to meet them? You can’t just meet them lol, they’d first have to want to meet you. And Hoseok did that with not 1, but 3 (maybe 4 because 2 of the brothers attended the Dior show) members of the family, including the LVMH CEO himself. It’s not even enough to be a high-profile celebrity; You usually have to have a long-standing working relationship with them or with one of their brands which means their connection with Hoseok must run pretty deep, and they have plenty of trust in him as a global representative. The same thing applies to Hermès. They do no care how rich or famous you are. Before you’re even able to purchase one of their bags directly, you’d have to be a longtime/VIP shopper. Even then getting a bag isn’t guaranteed. You’ll forever be on a waitlist, it could even take years, until you’re invited to purchase one. You also can’t pick and choose which model or color of bag you want lol. Everyone knows about the Birkin, but most are lucky to even be offered a Kelly for purchase. More solo albums (duh! and emphasis on the solo part; as much as I love a good feature or collab, there’s no good reason for those featured artists to be eating you up on your own song, much less album; features should add to the album, not make the album itself—especially when you’re a musician who aims to establish an individual identity and move away from the idea that you’re nothing without bts/without other people propping you up; next: jimin -> suga -> jungkook -> v ; in that order of album release is my guess)

More solo singles/EPs (the 94s; Namjoon has been hinting a lot at releasing new music, so likely an EP; I think Hoseok will also release another album before he enlists, if not an EP; I think they both have more options than other members since they’ve already officially debuted as soloists)

Yoongi has until the end of 2023, Hoseok and Namjoon both have until the end of 2024, Jimin and Taehyung 2025, Jungkook 2027; I’m curious to see—to the absolute horror of armys—if anyone, especially maknae line, will put off their enlistment past 2024....I think Hybe was foolish to announce a “comeback” date; only doing so to calm investors and give themselves an additional 2 years to “ease their dependency on BTS” by bridging the profit gap between them and all their other groups; well if all else fails, i guess they’ll have the company stans to rely on)

or Paired enlistments (again? I really doubt a 2025 reunion will happen simply because a lot of things aren’t adding up at the moment, but if they enlist in pairs it may be a sure sign otherwise. It still makes me laugh how this time last year armys were so sure they’d be getting a bts world tour announcement only for it to be a hiatus + enlistment announcement instead. The signs of exhaustion from the members and lack of effort with the group in all aspects were way too obvious. I will never understand why fans keep deluding themselves. Seriously what group at the peak of success releases an anthology as an album? With only 3 new songs? And the purple warriors ate it right up. They could’ve at least put the demos on streaming platforms. Don’t even get me started on the 3 english songs that took over a year of “convincing” before the members agreed. Lmao my point is bts have never 100% been open about their plans, yet we all know they plan and settle things months in advance. Which means enlistment had likely already been decided on prior to the second leg of the ptd concerts. And yet, they showed no signs of it and acted like everything was swell. Even RM said the 2025 date was tentative; there’s also the Expo 2035 to consider, but after all those infrastructure problems, I’m pretty sure Busan won’t win the bid. People should accept that if the members want to keep doing their thing solo after 2025, then that’s okay. If they come back as a group, then that’s okay too. These days most of them seem happier and lighter being able to do their own thing without being tied down to the rigorous schedules that come with being “7”. So, why pressure them to do anything more as a group just to fulfill the selfish desires and needs of fans?)

Dating news ??? (this isn’t a big deal either and it’s none of our business but all it really takes is one member to open the floodgates of deranged hyperventilated tears; although it’d probably be in their best interests to continue to keep their personal lives private for that very obvious reason)

Grammys attendance (BTS has several nominations, but I doubt all 6 members will attend; j-hope’s Equal Sign was submitted for “Best Song for Social Change”; there’s been hints of a Pharrell collab involving RM; I doubt the Recording Academy will want to miss out on that BTS viewership clout so I expect at least one or two members to attend and maybe we’ll even get a performance from them)

Met Gala attendance !!!!!! (first comes FW....then comes....seriously, j-hope is just wow and this has to be said. I’ve seen the photos/videos from PFW and modeling/posing aside, not only does his entire aura change, but even his etiquette and mannerisms change depending on where he’s at and what he has on. It’s like the outfit and environment molds itself to him. It’s almost as if cameras were created for the sole purpose of capturing his presence. You know how Koreans have this thing of calling someone “Human [insert brand name here]” j-hope is like that but with every brand. As a longtime lover of fashion, it’s rare to see someone be able to digest every style so well. I can actually count on one hand the number of celebrities who are able to pull it off. He fits perfectly in everywhere he goes, and it’s no wonder why every show gave him the best seat in the house next to all their executives and other notable figures in the fashion industry. It’s amazing, not only do brands love him but so did all the photographers/journalists. He gives you something to write about just by simply existing. So it wouldn’t be a stretch to expect the star of this year’s Paris Fashion Week to finally make his Met Gala debut this May, right? Imagine j-hope attends, goes all out and does one of those behind the scenes ‘get ready with me’ videos with Vogue. Do you see the vision? He’s the only member who has a genuine passion for fashion, does his research, looks good in everything he wears, and isn’t just content with wearing whatever a stylist hands him. He’s also the only member who I’ve seen several designers go out of their way to praise. This year’s Met theme is super flexible too and I’m sure there’s lots of brands that would absolutely love to see j-hope ‘The MVP of Fashion Week’ dressed in their designs)

Hope On The Street Comeback (putting this out there just because there’s rumors that people saw him filming something dance related in Paris; what could it be? maybe for his YouTube channel? a MV? maybe LV ad campaigns or commercials of him dancing? one of the models danced at their recent show so i’m sure they’re open to incorporating more of that type of creative expression in their marketing; either way, if the rumors are true, then naturally we’ll find out soon enough because it’s j-hope)

Drama/Movie roles (lead, second lead, or guest appearances; I don’t think any of them will go this route until they’ve at least released a solo album because if they’re actually serious about their solo music careers, it’s much easier to take an established artist-turned-actor seriously, than it is to take an amateur actor-turned-artist seriously—especially in these fragile times of solo uncertainty for many)

Contract renewal announcement (their contracts expire in 2024?, but I don’t think all of them will renew with BigHit/Hybe; I doubt there’ll be any news on this until later this year at the earliest...although there may be leaks and speculation here and there; since solo activities are in full force—besides re-releasing BTS’s entire catalog as vinyls and repackaged special editions—I’m curious to know what other ways hybe plans to milk them during their hiatus in order to keep pumping that BTS money into their new groups and push a BTS successor. Gotta keep those investors happy, right? Hybe has always had a lot of internal issues with their staff and the way things are handled. Hybe has also spent the last two years promoting their plans to “reduce dependency on BTS”, and have been investing in any and every venture, to the point that their slogan “we believe in money” should be changed to “we believe in profit”. If you notice any positive deviations in the company’s usual behavior regarding how the members are being managed, then they’re likely trying to butter them up behind the scenes to get them to renew. I’m also curious about the current status of their contracts, and if any new conditions were added regarding their solo work; I feel like some may have already renewed but, again, I could be wrong; half the members have already sold a portion of their 1.2% in collective hybe shares; all it really takes is for one member to leave the company and I’m pretty sure at least half would follow suit; there’s power in solidarity)

That’s all that comes to mind for now. As for your second question (which member has been the most impressive in chapter 2) if it wasn’t already obvious, the answer is: j-hope. It’s only been 6 months, and between his solo debut, critically-acclaimed album, multiple iconic performances, being the star of Paris Fashion Week, documentary on the way. Who else is doing it like him? He’s been booked and busy since the group’s hiatus was announced, accomplishing all that in just 6 months. He set the bar high for himself and continues to raise it. 2022 was the year of HOPE and there’s no signs of him slowing down in 2023. He deserves all the recognition he’s getting because not only is he the most impressive, he’s also produced the most impressive results overall. Let’s put bias aside and face the facts because anyone who says otherwise is a l-i-a-r.

I’m sure the haters are gonna say “he only accomplished all those things because he was the first one to release his album”. Well, any of the other 6 could’ve released theirs first, yet here we are 6 months later where some of them still have nothing close to a finished album and are busy idling their time away. Any reason they give for not being in the studio working is an excuse. Not to mention j-hope was working on his solo debut and preparing solo performances while BTS was still active as a group, meanwhile others were what? Taking vacations? Partying? Playing video games? Not that there’s anything wrong with doing any of that. If you want to rest, then by all means rest, but don’t expect to be on the same level or have the same results as someone who consistently works hard like j-hope. Even with the group being inactive it was only j-hope showing up to every award show in the name of BTS (Jin enlisted, but what were the other 5 busy doing)? Failing to prepare is preparing to fail.

And “j-hope always has a plan”, so it’s only natural for him to never miss out on a golden opportunity to show the world who he is and what he’s capable of doing. It’s one thing to be talented, it’s another thing to have excellent work ethic, strong social skills, the confidence and charisma to pull off anything. Not to mention he’s always super genuine, humble and polite with everyone he meets—and we can’t forget that heart-shaped smile. These attributes go a long way and are invaluable especially when you work in industries as cutthroat as music or fashion where first impressions are always a make or break. That sort of discipline and awareness isn’t built overnight. I’ve seen some videos of j-hope’s PFW interactions (with executives, photographers, and just recently, his bodyguards) and it always makes me go: “wow I want to meet him, I want to talk to him, he seems like a really nice guy, he’s a natural model, he’s super good-looking, I can’t help but smile too”. So, imagine how all those people on the receiving end of his affections feel? Exactly. Hence why j-hope will continue to be invited into those exclusive spaces. His body language is always warm and inviting, he’s good at connecting with people from all walks of life. Even something as simple as a smile or wave is enough to make someone’s day and j-hope gets that. The more time passes, the more obvious it becomes that he’s the main reason BTS even lasted this long as a group. Other members don’t call him “갓이홉” (god j-hope) for nothing. **final side note: even the way j-hope reposted all those photos from local photographers on his IG story is so ¡wow! Lots of celebrities wouldn’t even bother. Not only is he giving them more exposure in such a competitive industry, he’s also letting them know how much he appreciates their work. And some of these photographers often run around FW for free in order to build up their portfolios. Now, you never know who could’ve watched his story, saw those photos he reposted, and offered them a job. It’s little things like that, that go a long way, because guess what? The next time he comes back to Paris the same photographers will be happy and ready to capture him on their cameras. In fact, notice how some of them posted even more photos of him after that repost? Exactly. j-hope should really teach a masterclass on networking and building connections; the first thing on the agenda? Making the best first impressions. The second thing? The subtle art of personal branding. Don’t try to give Bighit/Hybe any credit either because as we’ve seen from some lackluster solo activities and the incredibly botched debut solo album rollouts (especially j-hope’s and especially when compared to the debut of other groups under the same company), thus far, BH/H does not give enough fvcks about BTS as soloists to invest money into them individually. the same way they’re currently doing for their other groups; they might care for some members more than others so a sponsored opportunity or two may come in the realm of that possibility, but they definitely value “OT7” above all because that’s where they believe the money lies. Ultimately, how each member’s solo career will turn out relies heavily on their ambition, respective goals, personal initiative, the drive to want more and to be more in their own right. They may be at the top as a group, but as soloists they’re just getting started.

I wrote this post about a year ago, and it seems that Hoseok has finally given us an answer. He’s clearly in it for the long haul and plans to have a very long and very flourishing career in both music and fashion; chess, not checkers~

The amount of people I've blocked since yesterday is huge. I understand being frustrated but straight up hate is not the answer lmao. And they love to say "im only joking" but it's like... are you? if writing awful hate comments and just being an asshole is how you "joke" then maybe u should check yourself.

And not to be that person, but our fanbase loves coddling a certain player who keeps missing obvious goal chances and it's also not playing well and he has been there for a while now. So, what the fuck.

Just... give constructive criticism and don't be a fucking asshole to anyone. Oh, and I'm only talking about what I've seen here on Tumblr, i don't have a twitter account so i can only imagine how awful everything must be over there (or even instagram).

Even with how insane it can get, I usually enjoy footie twt, but yesterday/today I did my first ever blockings. And I do think I'm pretty tough-skinned when it comes to handling hate towards my favourites, so you can only imagine how bad were things there. Not here, I think tumblr is quite disrespectful in this regard, or maybe I just follow the right people, lol.

All for constructive criticism, but some of those people don't even criticise, they just hate. You can tell it wasn't even a moment of passion for them, they must have been sitting for weeks on those hateful agendas towards certain players or the team in general. The late and lucky winners we had in the past couple of weeks just left no room for them to talk. Yesterday gave them the chance to unleash all that bottled up hate.

Ridiculous, isn't it? Yes, yesterday was very disappointing, not even because of the result, but for the reaction and performance we showed for being in the top 4 and possible title-contenders, but if there is any time to stick by your club and support your players, this is one. I'm as frustrated as anyone, because you can tell that something is not clicking, and with the fantastic players we have and the manager, we are still absolute favourites for both the Prem, the EL or the domestic cups. We were saved by brilliant individual performances from different players all season so far - because hate to say this, but team spirit got left in the dressing room in a few games -, yet some of those players were getting dragged, like it's only them on and only them. Always singling out players, hating on whoever gets the most engagement.

My one-sided beef with the Anfield Agenda bald dude literally turned into a public enemy type of situation, when I saw what he said to say about Salah for example:

This is NOT how you talk about a club legend, even if he did have a few poorer (and only by his standards!!) games. Not even if he had a poor season ffs, how disgusting this man can be! He has a lot to say for someone, who literally looks like aboiled egg left in the back of the fridge for who learnt how to talk and decided to have a tiktok page.

Hi!!

This is a really interesting question and I will try and be concise though I am not always good at that. Largely I was someone who was always sharing their writing online and during the pandemic I felt the desire to really take it more seriously as publications began closing and my options felt more limited. I was also like, I've essentially finished all my creative writing classes so why should I hold off from being a "writer."

A part of that did involve, in some ways, changing and reworking. I feel my motives in regard to social media is always how can I make this the easiest possible thing for me. I always want it to be easy and fun to do especially since I work full-time outside of writing for all my stuff. I didn't want it to feel precisely like a second job and I wanted it to be accessible to me on the go.

I changed my presence online in a kind of way. When I thought about what would be easy the easiest thing was like how can I be myself? Which I think is what makes So I had the handle chloe in letters reserved across most if not all platforms and I slowly began to establish myself on each. Instagram was probably the hardest and took the longest to figure out as far as the presentation. I began to experiment in early 2021 and I switched to a more casual personal approach so that it was easier and more me rather than a kind of steril homogenous vibe I had before which didn't really lend itself to, what I think is important in writing, which was feeling connected. It was also difficult to maintain.

Then one day I was on my way home from work and I wrote something in google docs and took a screenshot and I was like yes this is it. That was like in early 2022 so it took me a good year to get there! and then it was like wow its so easy to just....take a screenshot of my work wherever its posted and share it across all platforms. Most platforms support this kind of sharing of words really seamlessly. So in establishing myself one place, it was also easier to establish myself elsewhere. I wanted to take each social one step at a time so I could learn to juggle them all with practice rather than going all out on each. Substack first, then tik tok, then Instagram, then tumblr, then twitter. Since I had experience in most of these from my personal use of them it was pretty seamless to figuring out what to post.

All in all its a long process of linking. I mean I struggled with algorithms with readability, with length etc etc but there's a real learning curve and I think its one of those learn through doing. I don't think anyone has to join the internet in a fully formed way to begin with the process of finding your footing in its large capacity. The bulk of my following came from the period in which I was working out how I wanted to be ~online~

I wouldn't say I changed anything in terms of compromising myself either. I think if anything this has been a really thorough look at how can I really be myself. What feels good for me, what feels like me so that when people do find me it's consistent because it's always just who I am as a person. I don't wish to sound arrogant in saying that I think a big part of what is likeable about my work is the authentic (as much as social media can be) presentation of myself. Maybe yes I am more tender on twitter and funnier on Instagram or what have you, but its not a widely different shift because I have really gotten to the heart of myself and my desire. Which is honestly hard with social media and the idea of aesthetics.

I also think a big thing in linking everything was again this idea of who is going to say I'm a writer if not me? I really began this with a sense of the world is falling apart and I thought someone was going to pluck me from a sea of candidates and coronate me into the vast net of people who write for the internet. The fact was I wanted to be a writer so I decided to be one. And every day since has been a question of what kind of writer do I wish to be. ALl of that changes, it all changes all the time, but I feel more capable of it because I spent so much time trying to find a way to present myself that felt true and real so I know how to identify when some things don't serve me anymore or are old stories I am still telling myself about who I am.

I hope this answers your question! I feel like I kept rereading your ask and confusing myself on what you were asking so it was not concise at all. I also hope it doesn't sound bleak I think the technical stuff on algorithms and such was a big part of my life at the beginning but really again it's boiled down to how can I make this easy since everything else is so hard. It's become less of a science and more of a joy. Even if it sounds like it's all very complex it's only because I am a work in progress as always!

I realize it’s THE SUN but it annoyed me

No idea who said this and it reads as a half-baked, inexperienced publicist frantically trying to protect an actress at the direction of her managers, but you know, it’s got my professional back up.

I frankly doubt this is even one of Sweeney’s people working on her behalf because that girl isn’t stupid and her team is better than that at this shit. They’d just drop a line or two to Deux Moi and Page 6, not the Sun. that’s not her audience.

Disclaiming: No one not involved knows the story and I frankly don’t care who is with whom but this SUN article ticked me off so I’m going to vent right now.

Humour me and let me deconstruct this article for all the many PR oops in it:

Quote 1:

Pretty sure GP didn't expect his apparently now-ex girlfriend to go passive-aggressive bunny-boiler (yes, I said it and I am so not sorry) on the ‘gram and try to impact the career he's busted his ass trying to build. Those posts? Human scorned shit has a short shelf life and always backfires on the person who goes low in Hollywood. See also Brad and Angelina at the moment.

Two mistakes: blaming the guy for his ex publicly pulling shit on her personal instagram while blaming the guy for also leaving what clearly became an unpleasant relationship, while also implying he should have ‘controlled’ his ex and was responsible for parenting her behavior online!

Sympathy is going to turn towards Powell if it turns out there really is nothing going down but acting to sell the movie happening and this article will age really poorly.

Also: the extent of his being public was, this is my girlfriend. [shares photo, red carpet thing]. Pretty sure that has been the exact same extent of Sweeney’s stuff with her BF, who by the by - and yes, I am going there - Sweeney’s supposed BF is 39. She is 25. If they have been together for 5 years, she was 20 and he was 34 when they hooked up. 14-year age difference.

He could have babysat her before he got his high school diploma. Just saying. The ick is strong with this one, IMHO, and the public (esp the woke part) post-me-too is not fond of that, optically speaking. They aren't the great Leo DiCaprio and people are even tired of that crap from him now.

It’s a rom-com, the believability of the leads doing the rom-ing IS the market strategy.

The PR teams at Sony are loving this because they could not have begged for better press for this flick, even if this pushed JLaw, Denzel, and the Barbie movie off the front pages of the news cycle. Everyone has actually heard this film is coming out now and will probably be dying to see what the what is about it. Wouldn’t be surprised if this got fast-edit for October now.

If she hadn’t said a damn thing when they split, none of this news coverage would exist and no one who didn’t follow Glen Powell would have ever heard her name.

Let me tell you how the industry is going to see this situation in about a week:

The chemistry with his blonde-of-the-moment co-star Sydney Sweeney (see also Margot Robbie/Will Smith and JLaw/Helmsworth) was hot enough to dominate the entertainment social news cycle globally for 48 hours now because everyone was interested in a rom-com where people actually had chemistry. (Ghosted is bad, Your Place or Mine was worse, and the best part about The Lost City was Daniel Radcliffe and Sandra Bullock’s scenes together.)

And after all that: Powell still showed up to do prep for Twisters in Oklahoma without being a dramatic diva about the shitstorm his life became in April 2023 because he left a dead-end relationship?

Producers are loving what they’re seeing from him. Family-oriented, clean-cut gentleman who can handle his emotions and still work? Christmas came early!

Whoever this “friend” of Sweeney’s is, it would have been better for them to have kept their mouth shut and let this fade out quietly. That piece did her no favours, especially after that red carpet in Vegas because whoever did that just tried to throw her co-star under the bus to explain it all away and all the other actors in the industry are going to remember that.

So it’s that time again where people can’t behave in my asks.

-I have gotten many very mean-spirited asks targeting very specific people from Twitter, Instagram, etc. I don’t mind rude asks targeted at me as much because I can handle those. These other asks that try to insult, bully, or otherwise stir up drama by going after specific individuals are going too far. To the several (yes, several) people doing this in my asks: STOP.

-I’ve also gotten quite a few asks attacking different groups of players for their opinions. And no, I don’t mean they’re respectfully disagreeing with other players, and I don’t mean they’re saying stuff like “The players who like X series are dumb”. There is some very truly awful stuff being said about different sections of the fandom and I am not going to help perpetuate that, so just knock it off.

-Finally, and I cannot fucking believe I have to say this, DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES DOX OTHER PEOPLE!!!

I am nearly 22 years old and that is too old to be dealing with petty middle school shit like this. I’m going to go out on a limb and say anyone interacting with this page is also too old for this type of behavior.

My asks are not here to air your dirty laundry or personal drama you may have with other players, my asks are not here to act as a channel for you to make bigoted statements towards other players, and my asks are sure as shit not here to help you dox other players.

I am so fucking disappointed that any of this needs to be said, but here we are.

What are your thoughts when you see mutuals of yours using AI in their binds? I'm not defending afb at all, I think what they did and their attitude is vile, but why don't a lot of binders on instagram hold the same attitude towards AI and programs like midjourney? From my understanding, it's the same concept. It's still theft. These programs steal from artists without permission for the AI database. I've even seen someone using AI to edit a piece (avendell's art from grayscale to colored), which is as horrible as editing someone's typeset. I guess I'm just frustrated as an artist when I see such pretty books only to find out AI was used in the endpapers or dustjacket, and then see their friends cheering them on in the comments :/ It is so harmful to the art community, yet I feel like I can't speak up because many binders support it. I'd appreciate your thoughts on this though as a fellow artist

Hi! This is a very interesting ask and something I have been pondering for some time now but never really had the chance to put into words, so I will try me best to do it here :)

Disclaimer: those are my thoughts and observations about AI being used in book binds since I started binding almost 6 months ago. Please keep in mind this is just how * I * personally have decided to deal with my mutual using AI for their binds. I am not telling anyone that they should do or feel the same way as I do, each person has their own way to handle it.

Short answer: Have spoken up about this before, which you can find in a post here and also on my IG story, there is a highlight called “no AI”. This is mostly from when I first started binding. I think my tone there is a bit more aggressive because there were just a lot of penned-up frustrations LOL, but most of the things I said there I still stand by them.

Long answer under cut:

I’m an artist and have been drawing for 13 years now, and mostly hang out in the creative / artist sphere of the fandom sides online. Most artists do not support AI, and it has been incredibly frustrating to see how AI has just made life so much harder, from getting accused of using AI even though no AI is used, to seeing companies hiring artists who have also made a switch to AI and also support it, to Etsy sellers selling AI art on mugs and what not.

I was in the exact same spot as you when I was doing my social media research on how to get started with bookbinding, and spent a lot of time scrolling through other binders instagram accounts to see what they have made. I am in awe of what they can make because like every craft, it takes money and time and practice to get really good at it and I have seen so so so so many pretty books, but then also quite shocked at how most binders view on AI art differs so much from the art community. AI is used for typesets and endpapers and dust jacket, and scrolling through the comment sections, there was no one speaking out against AI art (or some did and got snarky replies or comments were straight deleted). This did discourage me at first from taking up a new hobby and being an active part of the community. I should add here though that no one has to make their hobby public and post everything they make. Personally, for me, I don’t have any IRL friends to talk about bookbinding or, and I’m also an introvert, so meeting and making new friends online to chat about hobbies is the best way for me to go. Also I just like sharing my work, I’ve put so many hours and time into it, why shouldn’t I get to show it off.

In the end, I have decided to make a book-binding account and be part of the fun and honestly, I don’t regret it. Everyone is super welcoming and will help you with any questions you have, I have made many great new friends and exchanged a few binds with people from across the pond.

And yes, some of those friends and mutual binders use AI for their book binds, I’ve had discussions with them about it, where everyone gave their input and thoughts on the topic in a respectful, mature, and civil conversation. Opinions are split on the topic in the binding community, this is what I have observed and gathered from my binding journey so far:

some people don’t know much about AI art or how it works, hence they decide not to touch it.

Some didn’t know how AI worked, dabbled with it, read up on and decided not to use it anymore.

Some have done extensive research on it with arguments from both artists and tech side, and then made a decision based on that

Some see MJ as another tool like Canva to make graphics or whatever for your bind.

Many binders use AI for their binds, because no money is made from it. It is (mostly) personal use, either for themselves or to gift away to friends.

One should always be transparent about whether MJ (midjourney) was used in their binds or not, to give people the choice to decide if they want to interact and support something with something that uses AI or not

Not all artists reply DM requests for permission to use their art for personal binds, or the art style / concept they have in their mind exists, so they resort to MJ as a quick solution

Not everyone has the money to commission artists, and especially for commissioned book binds, the prices for commercial art are not something everyone can afford.

The gist I got from the instagram binders (I don’t want to muddle them with AFB binders), is that they will try to use artist’s art with permission as much as they can, but roadblocks like the ones mentioned above happen and make them resort to MJ

Some artists do no want to be associated with AI at all so when they see that binders have used MJ for their binds before, they will not permit them to use their art

Some artists have spoken out against AI and talked with binders about the AI, but still take commissions / collab / trade with binders that have MJ works on their account

I see more artists permitting binders to use their art for binds than rejecting the request even though some of those binders used MJ in their binds. I do believe that most artists do a quick social media check and see what exactly their work is being used for before answering

Some binders are not fully active on IG anymore because they see so many AI being used

Many binders are still supporting artists in different ways such as subscribing to their patreon, donating to their ko-fi, buy their merch, share their art etc.

If given the chance, many binders would also love to collaborate with artists on a bind together - I’ve had several reach out to me and express their interest in collaborating together which I think is great.

About Avendell’s art being colored via AI: there is one known binder on IG that edits art without artist’s permission and we all do not like them LMFAO. All the binders I have hang out and spoken to respect artist’s boundaries and would not use their art or edit it without their permission.

The points above-mentioned are not me trying to justify and defend the binders that use MJ/AI, it is just me listing up my observations and things I have read and heard from binders that use AI.

I can’t fault artists for charging xxx amount for commissions because they have to make a living and pay bills too, but you also can’t condemn binders for not having the spare funds to commission artists because they also have bills to pay and groceries to buy.

So on the one hand, if I put myself in the binder's shoes, I do understand the appeal of MJ and understand to a certain extent why they use MJ for their personal works, no money is made etc etc etc. On the other hand, it’s AI/MJ and as an artist myself it is frustrating to see AI on my dashboard and until there is a more ethical way to use AI, the law has updated on the usage and the artists whose work were used to train the machines without their consent, I will not support AI.

AI art aside; binding books - especially a whole fanfic from scratch - requires so many other skills and labors put into making a book that also takes a long time and money invested to get better at. There is so much love and creativity put into a bind, and it amazes me what people can come up with that you most likely will never see in any mass production because it is a one-of-a-kind book. There are binders who have spent money purchasing stock image and font license for their personal binds, and will make sure they are respecting fanfic authors wishes and boundaries. For that, they have my admiration and respect and support and I am very happy to be still part of the community. I don’t think I need to get into how disrespectful the AFB Admin’s tone is in the overall post on top of them seemingly flipping off every one that is trying to have a civil conversation on the topic of sharing typesets without permission, editing art and straight up hold a best-copy-contest in a “”Private”” group that accepts pretty much any application and has over 6k members.

I don’t support AI, but I am very grateful that I have been welcomed very openly into a new community even though I have expressed freely in my public instagram account and on discord servers my disdain for AI. If I see my friends and mutual doing a bind where MJ is used, I simply don’t interact with the post, will not comment and share it in my stories, and move on. I personally don’t have the energy to comment and educate binders in comment sections for using MJ. I am friends with binders that use MJ, despite our different views on it, I have also blocked binders on insta because I do not agree with some of the things they said about AI and artists. And if binders do not want to interact with me because I don’t wanna support binds with AI - or artists do not want to talk to me anymore because I am friends and mutuals with MJ users, that’s fine too. I don't wanna get too caught up in the us (artist) against AI war, I wanna enjoy my new hobby and make pretty books.

I have been trying to incorporate more art that I draw myself into my binds and sharing WIPs and timelapses of the process, and I do hope that in some way this may help other binders also want to give digital art a go.

At the end of the day, it’s up to each individual both binders and artists how they wanna deal with MJ being used on binds and how they are gonna interact with it. I’ve decided for myself that I do not want to let my view completely stop me from enjoying what has been a wonderful community experience so far.

clowning 101 : how cpns work ( short version )

let’s do a little exercise to illustrate a point about cpns/sugars and how these things work. this is based on my personal experience in the fandom and what i find is the best way to handle them. first things first, not all cpns are there to prove a romantic relationship. tho that is implied, it’s often a proof of their connection and because of that why they work so well together as a pair.

Now time for the exercise :

A CPN going around today is another incidence of same/similar shoes. WYB wore one for his Bottled Joy Ad and GG while filming his new drama. The brand is one of those streetwear ones — Starwalk Soldier. They have a store in Shanghai and if you look at their Weibo or Instagram — you’ll see that there are other c-ent celebrities who were photographed wearing shoes from the same brand. So it’s not as niche as the other wardrobe CPNs we have. We’re not sure when the Bottled Joy Ad was filmed, but their Weibo account posted WYB wore their brand 10/8. Then today, GG was photographed with the opposite design of that shoe ( yes I know, one should be all white to be the opposite but it’s another take on it. ) Now that we have the facts let’s go to the next step.

As a turtles, this can go in different ways:

1. You can dismiss it. Walk away. Oh. same/similar ones again? sure. Nothing new. They have the same style and look more and more alike each day. Bye.

2. Probably their stylist’s choice. It’s a coincidence that it’s from the same line and one choice b&w while the other all black.

3. This is true CPN. What are the chances that ZZ would wear it the day after the brand posts about WYB wearing it. Also people have already CPN’d another same/similar shoe recently so ZZ must be paying attention and decided to clown us. This may be another example of one of them buying a “pair” so they can have couple shoes.

4. Add number 3 + The imagery is appealing to them because of the Star. An image that is both special to them and the fandom. Also it looks like a shooting star, similar to the one in WYB’s racing suit which we CPN ( my god not even cpn, we have video that GG said he will design a suit for him ; but we still gotta label it properly ) GG designed. So maybe that’s why one of them picked it.

5. Nah. This not for me. Not everything is CPN.

All of the above ( and more if your reaction is a combination of the numbers ) are correct reactions. There is no right or wrong answer. The ones who believe it don’t need to convince the other. If you don’t buy it— you don’t need to force yourself or feel bad about it either. That’s the fun in CPN. This is why it’s such a popular part of fandom and the fact that we have so many for people to discover is an exciting activity too.

Next example is Sailor Moon. 🌙 since WYB is promoting it via Shu Uemura’s collection. This is not the first time we CPN’d a collectiom from SU, Web did one featuring One Piece before and that has a stronger CPN theme to it.

It’s an example of a CPN that is about similarities and connections. ZZ loved this cartoon when he was a child and said he would go home and watch it instead of do what other boys his age did. In today’s Let’s chat episode WYB also recognized it, which means he knows it. And well, he is Sailor Mercury after all —

Also, ZZ’s “sailor moon” hairstyle from his XNINE Days.

You can go deeper and say that these two are not ashamed to say out loud that this show which is considered “girly” is something they like. They both were never really afraid to be associated with feminine things.

Lastly is WYB’s pose in today’s GQ photoshoot materials.

You can CPN this as much as you want and add in some backstory but it’s CPN already with how the photos “match”. Sometimes, it’s as simple as that.

What I just find harmful is when people say it’s REAL and forget to label things. Or ones who say they “know” what’s going on based on their friends/sources who are close to the boys. Lol. No. “sources” are sisheng accounts who follow the boys and invade their privacy. Random posts on weibo too about hearsays and so on. Second/Third/Fourth hand information. None of these accounts are in ZZ/WYB’s inner circle.

The point is, CPN/Candies is a part of fandom that should be enjoyed. Don’t get stuck in frustration when things don’t affect you as much as the others. Worse, try and make so/os and non believers buy into it. Or think about what so/os would say about certain candies. It’s for turtles only. It’s made and written for us and not anyone else. 💛

A lot of the language people use (like "CP" and "kiddie diddler") is well. It just shows a complete lack of sympathy for victims of sexual abuse.

Children are not a porn category. Giving child molesters a fun little quirky name is. Well. Disgusting.

Like there's a big difference between being attracted to children. And being attracted to fictional characters.

One of these is a photo of an actual real life child that was abused. The other is a photo of a fictional dragon loli.

The child in that photo was extremely damaged mentally because he, for some ffucking reason, used to show off his body to strangers on Omegle and Instagram. That was CSEM.

The loli in the other photo is not a real child, drawing lewd art will not hurt her.

It's like. Drawing gore art or making a slasher film are not illegal, because it's not real murder. Drawing furry porn is not illegal, because no actual animals are being harmed. Drawing loli porn is also not illegal, in the US, because no actual children are being harmed. Accusing people of being pedophiles because they draw lewd art of lolis or shotas is just as absurd as accusing furries of being zoophiles because they draw lewd art of their fursonas.

When you accuse people of pedophilia for their interests in fiction, you actively help actual pedophiles because you are watering down the term pedophilia.

Cartoons do not look like real people. Real children do not have naturally blue hair or dragon horns.

Anime characters especially, barely resemble real people. Cartoon characters also do not look like real people.

Being attracted to Kanna from Dragon Maid is not pedophilia, but it is dumb, because that creature doesn't even have a nose.

Is it weird to like loli and shota porn? Yes. Very very weird. It's also weird to like guro or furry porn. But that doesn't mean someone who likes that stuff is a serial killer or child molester. It just means they're a weirdo.

When I was a kid on the internet I was forced by a man on Instagram to send nude photos of myself to him. I also would regularly expose myself to strangers on Omegle. That is not CP because children are not a porn category, it was CSEM.

I am constantly afraid that those photos are still out there somewhere. I don't want them to be.

But that's difference between CSEM and hentai. One directly hurts children, and the other is porn except good because it's not real at all.

I think. Sometimes. That my experiences have stunted me mentally. That I am permanently stuck in a childish mind because of what I went through. Everyone in my life thinks I am childish and immature. And I'm 19 so I should stop being a child.

I should get a job, I should move out, I should stop crying all the time.

But I can't. I like to play with Legos and Lalaloopsies and talk about Powerpuff Girls and My Little Pony.

My therapist doesn't help me, and I don't trust her with my problems because she's transphobic. The only thing she cares about is making me get a job.

I don't want a job I don't want to grow up I just want to be a kid again and not experience all the abuse I went through.

I'm just an idiot. A massively childish and aggressive idiotic piece of shit.

I have low impulse control I can't handle money. I have low emotional control I can't handle when people are mad at me.

I would blame it on the autism or ADHD but I think it's just a flaw with who I am as a person.

I would never hurt a child I don't want to ruin a kid's life. I want to be hurt by someone older than me. I deserve it. Because I'm a disgusting terrible person.

I got snot all over one of my Ghostface shirts while writing this, why am I such a baby that I can't even handle mildly aggressive internet interactions without crying? I DIDN'T EVEN CRY WHEN MY FATHER DIED. But I cry over this? I'm WEAK.

Both the 3 year old's, Lavender (nickname Lav) and Ash are really close to each other, something which their parents are really grateful of.

They ran outside to surprise their dad as they heard his footsteps coming downstairs. While running Ash accidentally fell and started to sob uncontrollably. Harry and Y/N ran towards him, Harry went and tried to calm his son down. While seeing her beloved brother cry Lav also started crying. And soon both of them were fine, not at all crying anymore.

Harry and Ash both had a very amazing relationship, unlike most baseball father and son duo they both were fairly open to each other but still Ash was a mom’s son after all. Even Lav was a total daddy’s girl.

Ash had a more reserved, observant and calm nature unlike his sister who was a totally hyperactive and enthusiastic creature.

End of the day they are the Styles, one of Hollywood's most popular and happy family.
