Hi! Love your TikTok translations, they help me learn so much. Sorry if you've answered this before already, but as a language student myself, I was just curious about how you got so good at Chinese - is it a native language for you, or what's your background in using/studying it? Thank you!

I think I answered this a long time ago (like 2021 maybe) so I will just tell it again. It's kind of a longwinded boring post that's very self-centric (😬) and also probably not going to have any helpful advice to the average language learner, so I'm going to put it under a read more!

Background

My family is Chinese so it's my heritage language. I did learn it before English as a baby but then forgot a lot of it. My parents speak Chinese at home but I always replied in English growing up. Part of this is because I have a twin sibling and because we spoke English at school, we also started speaking English to each other at home.

We went to Chinese school on Sundays growing up (this is like a community/cultural school; it included other courses like math, Chinese dance, art, pre-SATs (lol), etc, depending on who in the community was available to teach), but I didn't really pay attention so my Chinese was pretty shit for a long time—like broken conversational level shitty, although I have always had a strong comprehension ability. My dad's side is from Sichuan so I grew up understanding a bit of Sichuanese.

The beginning of my "studying"

I don't actually have much of a background studying Chinese in a formal setting. I took Chinese 101-103 in college as part of a language requirement (specifically chose to start with 101 so I could relearn basics, even though my teachers kept offering to place me in higher levels). I really credit my Chinese 101 prof who was also the college's calligraphy teacher for making us focus on brush stroke order and recognising characters and understanding semantic components, which is something other profs did not emphasise (they were more focused on building conversational skills).

Anyway, that was only my freshman year of college because I ended up changing majors and not having a language requirement anymore (boo). I continued studying a bit of Chinese in the intervening years, but I am not a very disciplined person when it comes to self-study, so much of it was just translating song lyrics for my own amusement. During this time, I also started watching some cdramas, but mostly just Chinese web shows, which maybe helped? (I don't think I was watching enough for it to really make a difference).

Fast forward a couple years to 2020 and I started watching more cdramas during lockdowns, including watching 成化十四年 (The Sleuth of Ming Dynasty), which I was super invested in for about two years (this used to be a fandom blog lol). Basically, hyperfixation led me to rapidly improve my Chinese; I started translating a few behind-the-scenes videos for fandom friends. In order to keep up with Chinese fans and gain access to more material about the show, I started venturing onto Chinese sites such as weibo, bilibili, and eventually, douyin, which I downloaded around October of 2020 (so this was 6 months into my increased interest into Chinese things). At first, I translated a couple of douyins to share with fandom friends as I had done with behind-the-scenes materials, but for whatever reason I felt like some of the videos I wanted to translate would just be annoying to spam into the chat... I couldn't figure out a way to connect them to the blorbos, but I still wanted to translate them, so I started posting them here on tumblr. That's how my douyin translations started out. This was the height of covid-19 related sinophobia, too, so at some point I started realising how important it was to continue translating douyins, and that motivated me to continue even beyond it just being a fun thing to do. On that topic, it was through this blog that I realised how poorly understood China and Chinese people are, specifically on this site. I feel like that has changed a lot, or maybe that's just a comment on insular online spaces, but I have to think not; since I started translating douyins, I've seen a noticeable decrease in sinophobic comments and messages (not that I don't still get them, but it's lessened), and I think that's also thanks in great part to other blogs on here that were posting/have started to post more content from China to help increase exposure to tumblr users.

Improving

In any case, in the beginning, I did a lot of translations mostly by ear rather than reading captions because my Chinese reading wasn't that good.

It's kind of slowly improved with time and repetitive reading, and over the last three years now, I've also gone through periods of taking notes and actively seeking out some vocab lists or grammar explanations... but it usually comes in the process of trying to translate something. My motivations in "studying" (it's more like "figuring out") Chinese is largely based on the simple desire to know what people are talking about... what they're joking about... what they're ranting about and roasting. Related: I also started reading fanfics in Chinese about a year ago. Some fics have been easier to read than others, but some of the best ones I've read were also the ones that challenged me the most, and which I had to take a lot of notes on while reading. I'll admit! There have been times where I just took a fic and dumped that sucker in google translate and have it read the Chinese to me, so I could just listen to it like a podfic. But even so, I would take notes, because I think my improvements in Chinese are heavily connected to my Chinese literacy.

Reading douyin comments and forums on douban or comment sections on bilibili has been one of the main ways that I've picked up on common phrases and characters. I often write things down but I do so more as a muscle memory practice, because I have never really been the sort of person who reads back notes (this was also how I studied in school, iirc). Branching out and translating things that are written in formal or non-colloquial styles is also a way I challenge myself from time to time, and I do like to look up the etymology of Chinese characters from time to time because it helps me pick up patterns of semantics and phonetic hints when I'm reading (this makes it easier to guess what a character might mean or sound like, even if you've never seen it before). Overall, translation has been the great learning tool for me. I think maybe it comes down to learning styles? I have always learned better from trying to teach others, and I feel like translation works a similar muscle in the mind; translation is about figuring out ways to efficiently communicate a message, and in order to do so, you must be able to grasp the essence of what it is you're relaying.

All this said... And to try and return to your original ask after all my usual Wawa rambling... I actually don't think my Chinese is that good, lol. In fact, there's probably people who follow this blog who are studying Chinese in a more conventional and methodical manner whose Chinese is objectively much better than mine 🤷🏻‍♂️ I mean, if you crunch the numbers, I have really only be self-"studying" for three years. Three years of what is really just vibe-based learning. There's a lot of vocab I still don't know (I mean my English vocab is pretty limited too, sooo.... 😭), a lot of areas that I can still improve on, and am improving on, and try to improve on... when the mood strikes. Again, I am not a very disciplined self-study type.

Maybe this will give any other Chinese diaspora hope, though. I feel like it's never too late for us to start learning. There is probably a seed or language foundation within you already which will make it easier for you to start, and then after that, I think it sort of comes down to finding what interests you and will keep you motivated.

Most of the stuff I talk about on here when it comes to culture or folk art or what have you, I did not know even five years ago! I learned about it because I was interested to find out more. (That's another reason I have to laugh when I get some of the asks I do in my inbox... The stuff I don't answer is dumbfounding at times. You translate a couple of funny videos and people think you're some kind of Tripadvisor cultural ambassador guy! I swear...)

Yandere Crimson who met you through one his workers you were the sibling of one of the demons that worked for him. Crimson thought you were beautiful and that he couldn’t take his eyes off you. Some of the demons in that room loved to stare at you. Crimson felt jealous because only he should be allowed to look at you so anyone who looked at you had their eyes removed and was thrown into the waters. Crimson planned to have to himself that he had your sibling convenience you to come by more often and you did.

Yandere Crimson who treats you like the rarest diamond in the world but also doesn’t want anyone stealing you away so he always has his best men watching you, no one knows that they are there even you. Anyone who has ever flirted with you or hurt you has vanished into thin air or ended up dead. Crimson watches you sometimes even when you are sleeping he is watching you, he thinks that you look so adorable when you sleep he just wants to snatch you away and give you a better life so he does.

Yandere Crimson who tries to calm you down when you wake up in a panic in his bedroom, even though he tells you that;s it 's alright and it’s just him. But that doesn’t help because he fucking kidnapped you, eventually one of his men have to knock you got and Crimson kills him for hitting you to hard over the head, He’s worried so he calls the black market doctor Rosemary who tends to you but when you wake up, Rosemary informs Crimson that you have memory loss. Crimson takes this as a win and pays the doctor; but he also pays your brother so that he could lie to you.

Yandere Crimson who lies about being your husband, he tells you that we were in a small accident and that he’s been taking care of you. And you believe but ask him about your wedding rings. “ I’m getting them cleaned, only the best for my jewel. “ Crimson would give you a sweet twisted smile. Something didn’t feel right but you believed him, he also told you the reason you both don’t have pictures together is because he wanted to protect you since he is the mob, Crimson had created a new life for you.

Yandere Crimson who keeps you trapped in the house telling you that it’s far too dangerous to go outside because his rivals would kill you. He even goes as far as telling you that your friends are working for his rivals so you cut them off. Crimson keeps you isolated from everyone but your brother who helps Crimson with his lies. Your brother tells you how the wedding was beautiful and that you quoted it was one of the happiest days in your life.

Yandere Crimson who tells you that Moxxie is your step son. You want to call him but Crimson tells you that Moxxie is too busy and has abandoned the family. You frown at his words.You wanted to meet your step son, but you listen to Crimson because he knows what’s best for you. He kills anyone that could refresh your memories or destroys anything that brings back your memories which is why he got you a new phone and made an email for you and watches your new social media accounts.

Yandere Crimson who gaslights you whenever you remember something he tries to brush it off or guilt trips you whenever you ask too many questions about the wedding and why can’t you meet any of your family or his family. But things don’t work out when your brother feels guilty and works behind Crimson’s back so when he helps you finally regain your memory you both try to escape but your brother meets his end with a bullet in the head.

Yandere Crimson who tells you to shut up and stop screaming when he tries to tie you up while his men are dumping your brother’s body in the river. Crimson tells you that you’ll continue your new life with him and that he’ll never let you go and if you try to escape that he’ll also kill you. You don’t want to die so you listen to Crimson and remain tied to the bed until Crimson feels like he can untie you.

Yandere Crimson who always has you by his side because he’s scared you’ll leave so you end up sometimes witnessing what he does in the mob. Sometimes as punishment for not listening to him or trying to run away he forces you to watch the torture that he puts demons through. If you end crying he’ll apologize and buy you whatever you want but it doesn’t make up for all the shit he puts you through.

Yandere Crimson who eventually breaks you down to where you now just listen to him and have grown numb to the things he does in front of you. Did he just cut open the throat of one of his men, you just sigh and go back to what you were doing. Did he give you a kiss, you give him a kiss back not wanting to fight. Does he want to cuddle, fine let’s cuddle if it will shut him up, and does he wants you to help get rid of a body, I’ll go get the chainsaw honey.

Finally Yandere Crimson who is finally happy to have you where he wants you trapped underneath his fingers he always reminds you that if you ever try to leave him, cheat on him, or challenge him that you’ll end up just like his ex wife and you don’t want that so it’s best to listen to him. He has eyes and ears all over Greed so it’s hard to know who you can trust that is until a certain cowboy imp wants to talk with Crimson.

You walked up the stairs to your little apartment, as you opened your bag to find your keys. You turned around to put your groceries in the fridge. You got your eye on the white wine you opened yesterday and grabbed it from the fridge. You poured yourself some wine and sat down in your couch. You bowed down and grabbed a box from under the couch. Inside there was secret documents that you had gotten in the mail, which was the reason why you came to Riverdale.

Inside there was your birth certificate and you found a note where it stood: From Alice cooper. Apperently this Alice had sent them to you months ago. So when you found this Alice Cooper from Riverdale, ofcourse you packed a bag and travelled to find Riverdale and this woman, only when you found this woman you ended up getting interviewed instead of getting answers. She swore that she had found them in her mailbox and had made copies and mailed them to you. She swore she didnt know anything more.

That woman really got on your nerves, you left that day and promised yourself you were going to find out what the hell is going on. You bought an apartment and got a job at some diner named pop’s. You just had to find out what actually stood on that birth certificate. But the thing was they had been blacked out and when you asked your adoptive parents they said it was an closed adoption so they knew nothing. you figured out you were on your own.

You sighed and took a big sip of wine as you threw the box away. After a couple of weeks after you had settled in, you found someone who was willing to help you. He was tall, dangerous smile and god damn: handsome as fuck. So was it really a suprise you couldnt resist and eventually flirted with him? For months you had worked together to try to find out who you are related to, But you grew more interested in him than your birth parents.

You wanted to know the truth ofcourse but you already had a family who you missed like crazy and loved deeply.. You only did this cause you hated not knowing. You wanted to know but this man, right now, he was much more intresting. After months with flirting you fell hard. He had flirted back and he was after all trying to help you, but you could tell he should be with someone else. Infact he convinced you today himself.

Today at 4 pm:

He sighed out loudly and it looked like he was debating on what to say. "tell me" you said as you took your handkerchief from your apron and playfully smacked him on his arm. He let out a short laugh as he sighed long. "I found out something big and I think you should sit down" he said, you looked worried at him. "just tell me" you asked and he sighed "alright" he looked into your eyes as he said. "Youre a blossom" he said "blossom? really?" you asked and knew some stories from the blossom family. You had heard allot of stories at pop's, so you werent all unimformed.

"apperently Clifford and Penelope Blossom tried to hide the fact they got pregnant when they were young and had you adopted." he explained. "wow" you simply stated. "I need some time to thaw on this" you said. But honestly you were more concerned with him. Right now he felt so right in your life that he had become the light in your life. Everytime the bell rang at pops you hoped it was him, you became more and more invested in this research because of him?

"are you ok?" he asked. you shaked our head clean, from stopping yourself of thinking anymore about this. "yeah, anyways I should probobly go, thanks again" you said and hated that, thats what came out of your own mouth. "I mean it, thank you so much" you tried to smile and he took out his hand and touched your arm. The warmth that came from his hand made your heart flutter. you starred into his eyes as you walked closer to him and gave him a hug.

He arms wrapped softly around your waist and you heard yourself exhale. "thanks" you whispered softly, you tried to walk away from his hug but it was so damn hard. You didnt want to leave. you felt his cheek come close into yours, you leaned back to get a look at his lips. You froze and looked at where the voice were coming from. "I can't believe this" you felt tears build up as you saw Fp hold her both hands and said something only she could hear. Now 6pm:

Yep, that happened. You felt anger rise inside you as you inhaled and exhaled. You rised up to go and find something stronger to drink. You opened your cabins from the kitchen and found a bottle. «There you are» you sighed, grabbed a shotglass and poured tequila into it. «fuck them» you said as you raised your hand and threw down the shot.

Today you had found out the truth and that you were some secret blossom daughter. Honestly you didnt care about the blossom family, you already had a loving family. The only thing you couldnt get out of your head was him, you just wanted him.

But you cant have him, because of Alice. Fuck this and fuck him and her, you made up your mind to go out and drink somewhere not alone. You took another shot and changed out of your uniform into something better. You found a black strapless dress and put on some red lipstick.

You stood ready to leave when you opened the door and you saw him standing there in the doorway. "hi" he said as he starred at you on your dress "what do you want?" you asked as you leaned your hand on your waist as you held the door open with your other hand. He couldn't stop looking at your waist and tried to not stare his hardest but failing. "why aren't you with Alice?" you asked with a mean look. "If you came here to gloat why didnt you bring Alice?" you joked and shaked your head, you looked into his eyes waiting for him to respond.

"hm?" he looked up confused "wait, why are you talking about Alice?" you crossed your hands and shaked your head. "I couldn't care less about Alice" he reasured. "yeah right" you let out a snort and tried to shut the door in his face but he grabbed the door and walked halfway inside and looked at you with a smile which made your knees turn into gello once again.

"youre mean" you barely managed to say. He walked inside, closed the door behind him and gave you a puzzling look. "what" you asked annoyed. "Do you know how frustrating this whole situation is?" he sighed as he walked further inside the apartment, He had been here a couple of times but he never let you out of his sight. he slowly walked over to you until he stood close enough for you to inhale his perfume.

the perfume made you let out a whimper, you covered your mouth trying to hide the sound that made him look into your eyes with hunger "what do you want? and why arent you with alice, you should be with her, not me" he shaked his head slowly as you asked all these questions, he looked down on his shoes and let out a sigh "y/n" he began "can you leave, If youre going to let me know youre not interested you didnt have to come here and pity me, I have your money right here, so you can just go back to that fuckin-" you barked.

he looked at you with a tense look in his eyes and interupted you "I dont care about Alice" he explained and shook his head, "what are you even talking about, I want you!" he said annoyed "I didnt come here for her or money" he took out his hand and placed it under your chin. "I came here for you" he whispered, "can you please stop making this so damn difficult" he let out a short laugh. "I saw you in your car today driving home from pops, I know what you saw and I knew you would misunderstand, She was jelaous of you and wanted to be with me, but I told her that I was falling for someone else" He leaned closer to you, just a few inches away from your lips.

You held out your hand on his chest trying to stop him, you felt his heart bump like crazy under your palm. "Fp" you whispered, he grabbed your hand and guided you around his neck as he leaned closer to your ear. "I dont have anything more to talk about that woman, I only want to talk about us." he whispered, "I want to feel you lay naked under me" he said as he kissed your chin "I have wanted to kiss your neck for months now" he said as he kissed your neck softly, you let out a whimper.

"How much more do I have to explain to you that youre the one I want?" he kissed your chin once more and grabbed your head and looked softly into your eyes. "I'm in love with you, not her" he finally said and waited for you to respond. you completly froze and after a second your body reacted "don't break my heart" you said and kissed him deeply, he inhaled your kiss and sucked your lips playfully.

He broke the kiss and grabbed your legs and held you in his arms as he walked into the wall, as he deepend the kiss. he pushed you up into the wall more as he licked your upper lip. You held his shoulders, he grabbed your thighs and lifted slowly up your dress as he kissed your neck with soft kisses.

He grunted as he grabbed your ass and pushed himself into your core. You let out a whimper as his hard shaft made contact with your core, you began thrusting into his shaft and wanted to kiss him more. He grunted and thrusted back as he opend his mouth to let you explore his tounge.

I cry. Sorry this took so long!

BUT I Did handwrite some stuff down, so here we go!

(Just a note that while I proabably will analyze link click - how could I not - I won't try to do as much analysis as I did with Jujutsu Kaisen... because... well I did too much. Maybe burnt myself out? I hyper analyzed that to the point where it became another school subject... and LInk Click actually SHOWS backstory, so I don't' have to connect as many dots. )

CHeng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang's strengths and weaknesses.

Cheng Xiaoshi: he's empathetic, but so much so that it turns into impulsive decisions. Other than that, when he does have space and time to process his emotions, he's INCREDIBLY good at strategizing based on the factors of the environment + the emotions of those involved (Lu Guang will follow rules without being as adaptive)

Overall, I'd describe the Cheng Xiaoshi emotion pipeline to be this:

gets overwhelmed with strong emotions, especially when possessing someone or in a high stakes situation. In this state, he'll do reckless, impulsive decisions, oftentimes for the good of others... but he usually regrets it later

CXS has more time to sit with and process his emotions. He usually withdraws from the world at this time. (Post episode five, or after diving into the photo on his own, when he thought Lu Guang was dead)

He does his whole 'I have a plan thing' and it's ridiculously smart. He just needs time (and lots of it) to process his emotions.

Cheng Xiaoshi is also almost.. too trusting. He trusts others, empathizes with them, so easily feels and assimilates himself with others that he'll... probably get taken advantage of. (See season two)

He also clings to the people he has. This is neither a strength nor a weakness... it's both, it's a trait, and it will become either beneficial or a detriment depending on the situation, as is the case with a lot of character traits. The plot tests the flaws and benefits of a character. (Sorry small tangent)

CXS tries to prevent the same pain of loss from befalling anyone else/ people he possesses. He fears being alone (probably also feeds into his 'too trusting' + relies on Lu Guang thing. Neither are inherently flaws) and perhaps part of the reason he is so impulsive is because his parents left him so suddenly. He gets so stressed because he has to help them/save them, and he must do so immediately, before they leave him forever.

(See I'm analyzing but I'm having trouble with fitting CXS into the overall themes... hmmm.. I'll figure it out.)

EDIT: I HAVE THOUGHTS, I THINK I FIGURED IT OUT... MAYBE I SHALL LET THE THOUGHTS MARINATE MORE!!

Lu Guang:

I'm not sure if he restrains his emotions, has subdued ones, or if whenever he's around CXS he can act more 'low energy' because CXS is... a lot. /aff

Versus when he's alone:

He acts like he's the level headed one, but he's far from it. Even in season one, especially in episode five (when he took a risk and it ended up backfiring on CXS) he can and will freak out the moment something doesn't go according to plan. And who often doesn't go according to plan?

Cheng Xiaoshi.

Lu Guang does his very best to... prevent against this. He means well. Pretty much every moment he's on screen is him trying to protect CXS.

He does keep secrets, but overall, I think he isss pretty open about what he thinks and feels (except for when it comes to CXS to his face... he'll gladly talk about it to Qiao Ling). In... I think it was episode six, he openly told Cheng Xiaoshi his reasoning for going back in time to deliver the messages in episode four... to alleviate the client (and prove to himself that it is possible) of regret.

As far as the 'strengths and weaknesses' go, for all the issues and benefits that happen because of him, it's really caused by his personality, his traits, that will be either useful or detrimental depending on the situation. LInk Click is wonderous at using the plot to fully explore the nuances of the characters, so none of their traits are 'black and white'. Very 'trolley problem esque' and up to the viewer to decide. *buzzes and explodes* /pos

In essence: Both CXS and Lu Guang are emotional idiots in their own ways (CXS's just louder about it /pos /aff) and QIao LIng is actually the only levelheaded one here.

... I need some more time and rewatches before I can fully analyze them well so that's that for now!

What I love about their dynamic

They both trust each other, and will break all of time and space (or not break all of time and space) for the sake of the other.

MOST OF ALL HOW'LL THEY'LL BREAK THEIR USUAL CHARACTER IF IT MEANS PROTECTING THE OTHER.

Like Lu Guang, for all the times he says that CXS cannot change the past, that he shouldn't interfere, caves if it means giving Cheng Xiaoshi solace. (Episode five when tried to help Cheng Xiaoshi save his mom, and in season two when he let Cheng Xiaoshi dive to allow police assistant guy - I forget his name - to give a flower ring to his wife)

For Cheng Xiaoshi, he'll resist his impulses and emotions, even if it causes him immense pain, to comply with what Lu Guang would've wanted. Epppiisooddee fivvee is a good example of this. (And of course... I think it was episode two of season two where Cheng Xiaoshi decided not to go back in time for the sake of Lu Guang's wishes). Cheng Xiaoshi 'gave up' on trying to save everyone in the town because of Lu Guang's urging, and even throughout all the dives he does, as early as episode one, he trusts Lu Guang.

Also, in a less dramatic sense, ... alll the little things they constantly do for eachhh other aklsjfkaslfklasjd fSCREAMSSS

Lu Guang checking on Cheng Xiaoshi during his nightmares, comforting CHeng Xiaoshi after the trauma that was episode five, the both of them constantly teasing each other, how comfortable they are in each other's presence. IT'S SO QUEER PLATONIC CODED I LOVE THEM SO MUCH.

Honestly episode five is a masterclass in good writing. The moment where Cheng Xiaoshi's mom is singing to him, then it cuts to Cheng Xiao's mother dying is just... *sobs*

WHEN QIAO LING CANNONICALLY CALLS CXS HER BROTHER AND IT FLASHBACKS TO HER AND YOUNGER CXS AND lakjfalksfjasklfjaslkfjaslkdfj

Cheng Xiaoshi's backstory in general... it was either in episode ten or eleven... or nine??? I still have to rewatch up to there. Epsically because CXS's backstory was explored in really nuanced and explorative ways before the whole thing was revealed, which makes any rewatches 1000x sadder. It's such good writing holy herbs.

In episode... seven I think it was.... when CXS as Doudou punched the human trafficker and Lu Guang had a surprised pikachu face... peak fiction. How this donghua manages to make me smile and laugh then ugly cry and stare at a wall for the next few hours is beyond me /pos /sooo impreeessive the wriittttnggg.

Lesbian Noodle ladies were amazing. 100/10. Bring them back the trio needs happiness

Lu Guang wanting to go the funeral in season two with an IV and half formal clothes, half hospital gown. He's smart but in the 'I've memorized an entire Library but can't navigate a practical/social thing to save my life' sort of way. Love him for that.

Wang Juan. She has an Ivan (alien stage) haircut and she was great and yes I have another aesthetic crush shhhh

When the trio dressed up as the cartoon characters to reunite Doudou with his dad.

The Power of Understanding

Time to find out why, who, what, where, when, and how exactly. More importantly, will there be NSFW?!!

1) When is the story taking place?

It is taking place well into the adventures of the Chain. However, it is a non-linear story, so you "think" back to the times when you first met them. Most stories take place after the Twilight's near death arc. Basically you have been there with them. This is an AU of course.

2) When did you join them?

You first spent around two years with Link & Zelda in the post-calamity Hyrule, before being thrown in with the chain.

3) How did you speak with Link and Zelda?

You couldn't. You learnt their language later, it was a process. They took you to the four Great Fairies, and also used a drop of Triforce of Wisdom (via the fairy help) to enhance your learning and to make you more understandable to the others ASAP. This had however some long lasting, not so positive consequences. We'll dive into them in the "Wobble of the Head" arc. (coming soon)

4) Do you have an accent?

Hylian has dialects, so yes. You do have an accent, but it only appeared after you met the Chain, for obvious reasons. *Coughs* No spoilers, sorry.

5) How do the Links talk with each other?

Language change is a very very slow process, even in our world. Things like immigration, wars and other conflicts make it faster but even then it's very slow in most cases. World of TLoZ did have its fair share of conflicts, but mostly it was within the same cultures, so language didn't warp there to a point of becoming unrecognizable for most Links. Sure, some are harder for others to understand due to distance, accents, dialects and some vocabulary, but they can communicate mostly just fine after a while.

Wild however is from a very far era (we are talking about 10k+ plus years), so he struggles the most.

I can make a separate post about it to answer more detailed questions (e.g. language dynamics between Links), just let me know!

6) What do the Links think about your height and ears?

You are in your mid/late twenties and so are most of the Links (reminder that this is an AU). Some of them were surprised, but some already have people in their worlds with rounded ears. They don't think that much about you being taller, they are used to being shorties, as they are in most cases shorter than the average Hylian anyway.

7) What is your relationship status with Wild and Flora?

It's complicated. You never had time to talk about it since you were always hopping through worlds, facing life & death situations. All three are into each other, you did share each other, and you definitely have space in your heart for more. But that's a difficult conversation.

For now, Wild is there for you and you for him. He also notices Twilight's subtle advances and it is difficult to gauge what he feels. We shall explore those in the story, dear reader!

8) Do Links know that you know them from the games?

Nope. That's gonna be a conversation as well. For now, they know you have been a researcher in Wild's world and that you also come from another. But sometimes you hit a spot too that's too personal. You tried to explain but they didn't get it and you didn't push back. It will be a shitshow when they find out exactly what you mean with "interactive stories". Wild won't be happy for sure.

The problem with you (and your flaw for that matter), you are a blabber mouth. Let's be honest, how can you keep all that info to yourself? This sometimes causes conflicts and issues within the group. There is a reason why Legend nicknamed you "trivia bitch" at some point.

"Prison." She said simply. "Stillwater?" You then asked, she nodded. "Mm, Marcus had ties there. Didn't think... well shit." You stared into her silver eyes for a moment, both of you swallowing as a thick silence fell over you two again.

"How long you been out?" "A day-ish."

Silence again.

"How're you enjoying freedom?" "It's nice knowing you didn't leave us by choice." You laughed slightly, shrugging once again. "Nice knowing you aren't dead." Again you both nodded and went quiet, no words being spoken.

"So-" "I-" Both speaking at the same time, taking a step forward. "You can-" "You go-" Again, your mouths both snapping shut. Vi then pointed at you, watching you quietly nod.

"So... you miss me in there? Or have you spend the past... how many years, hating me?" You swallowed hard, staring at her with sad eyes. "Bit of both. I was angry, I didn't know-" "It's fine. I get it."

You looked down at your shoes, regretting your decision to ask in the first place. Shifting your weight back and forth as you teeter-tottered on your heels.

"What about you?" "Hm?" Your head shot up, realizing she was much closer than before. "What've you been up to?" "Helping Ekko, finding people who don't want Silco in power. Trying to keep Jinx on the right side."

"Pow?" "She doesn't go by that anymore." You stated clearly, looking away from her seemingly burning gaze. Getting closer.

"She's happy with Jinx." "You are?" "It doesn't matter what I think." You cleared your throat, Vi scratching messing with her fingers, or her hands instead of looking up at you. "Vi?" "Yeah?" "Did you atleast miss me?"

"...Yeah. Even though I was mad." "I missed you too." You smiled slightly, seeing a ghost of one of Vi's face. "We should... get back to Ekko soon." "He can wait a little longer. I had to wait forever."

Vi's hand finally reached out to yours, lightly grabbing your wrist before taking your hand in hers. Staring down at them. Hers just slightly bigger.

"I like what you'd done with your hair." You heard her laugh slightly, meeting your teary eyes with her own. "Yeah, I second that." You giggled as she twirled a some around her fingers, not minding when it it snagged slightly.

"Thanks." She hummed slightly before noticing the slight nervousness on your face. In reality your face was burning, just in temperature. "You okay?" "No." You answered quickly.

"I missed you." "Yeah, me too cupcake." Vi pulled you closer by the hand she was holding. Forcing you to wrap it around her waist, not that you put up much of a fight as your face squished into her chest.

Hand coming to pet the back of your neck, holding you close as tears fell from her eyes. Holding back any noise from passing her lips. Staying silent as the seconds passed.

"Vi?" "Yeah, yeah just hold on, okay?" You nodded against her, squeezing her tighter, feeling her body shudder and begin to lean towards you. A hiss leaving her lips before she began to silently sob.

Anyway, may I kindly request an angst/comfort about close friends Itto and gn reader?

Reader was in a dark alley and encountered some creeps who wanted to harass them. The creeps asked if the reader has a partner or someone they like and they said yes. Unbeknownst to the reader's knowledge, Itto was just nearby and ready to jump in the scene but stopped when he heard their friend's answer to the creepy guys. He was confused why he suddenly felt heavy about you liking some possibly another guy and became curious about who is it.

On the other hand, the creepy guys are slowly getting closer to the reader and they said "He's an oni so don't come any closer or you'll regret it!" something like that lmao. The creeps didn't believe it for some reason (either they came from another nation or etc. You can insert your own idea 💓)

“well that’s that. we’ll meet back up here tomorrow afternoon!” he agreed. the two of you hugged, and he watched as you began walking off to take your usual walk back home.

he couldn’t help but fall further in love with you as your skin and the moon made the most graceful combination. he felt like he was blessed to see such a sight.

it almost made him wish you were his already. he’s not quite ready to confess yet. too early, he’d say.

looking down at the ground to pick up the cards, he realized something — they were yours.

“shit.” he mumbled, picking them up hastily and following where he thinks you went, come to find there was a detour due to the overwhelming population of hilichurls and samachurls.

he would’ve offered to help, but he really wanted to get your cards back. he’d hate for you to come out in the cold again. the detour to your home was a bit sketchy though. a dark alleyway, filled with a bunch of junk.

not only that, but he heard your faint yelling in the distance. disappearing into the darkness, he followed your voice.

once he found you, he saw quite average looking treasure hoarders. the type he’d occasionally see roaming inazuma. however, the event transpiring was anything but average..

listening quietly, he watched the scene go down, careful to be ready to shut the situation down if anything gets out of hand.

“what’s someone like you doing out this late? hmm?” one of the men asked, circling around you.

“trying to get home. now would you please-“ you said, walking to leave them there, though being stopped.

“c’mon. we just wanna talk a bit, yeah? let’s get to know one another.” one of them said, smiling with a false sense of innocence.

“mhmm, have anyone you like? eyes on anybody particular?” another asked, hands on his hips. hesitantly nodding, you decided to simply entertain them until they either got bored of you or left an opening for you to escape.

from the sidelines, itto could feel his heart weighing down on him. he almost felt played, if he hadn’t remembered you were best friends., despite the fact that he always winced internally at that label.

“is that so?” he mused, hands behind his back, the other standing beside you. “he anybody important? or rather, wealthy at all? what’s his life like.” the other pressed.

thinking about it, you could somewhat see through the little plan they had. seeing as though they were treasure hoarders, they most likely planned to rob whoever you described.

with the questions you were asked, it was quite easy to tell. ask anybody about anyone they had eyes on, get them to talk about them a bit and have a general idea of their life or habits. once that’s done, they just have to go look for the matching appearance and do their so-called ‘job’.

you couldn’t help but feel his angsty tone press down on you, pressure growing. what if you’d told too much? would it even be right to answer? thinking about it, itto would be able to handle his own. he’s told you many stories before.

“an oni,” you said briefly. “can i go now?” you asked impatiently. you didn’t feel like fighting, not in this cold.

they shook their heads. “not yet. oni’s don’t exist, don’t you know?” the one on the right sighed. “an urban myth at most.”

you were confused until you realized. the use of oni’s would be in scary stories to tell children, and merely considered child’s play. something used to keep kids from going out late.

however, never exactly recognized as an actual creature, let alone being.

the one on your left chuckled. “I’m sure you’ve already caught onto our plan, or so it seems. so, im only gonna say it once,” he sighed, removing his hands from behind his back. grabbing your arm harshly, he pulled you close to whisper in your ear. “give me a name or you’ll regret it.”

pushing him away, you began running only to be tripped and pulled back. hand wrapping around your throat, you struggled as you were held up. “tell me a name.”

falling down, you choked as you saw the man who was once holding you by your throat on the ground, holding his head.

with itto standing over him, broken bottle shards on the ground. the other man came from behind him, though to little to no avail after being backhanded to the floor as well.

looking back at the man on the ground, he’d passed out from what you’d like to think, a concussion. the next thing you saw was the once aggressive oni meeting you eye-to-eye.

he couldn’t help but give you a silly grin. he could never think to be the least bit of aggressive with you.

“itto?” you asked, confused. when did he get here? how long was he there, and what exactly did he hear?

“heya..” he said shyly, what was once silly turned shy and hesitant in an instant. he held the cards up beside his face. “you..left it.” he told you, sliding them beside you. “so uh..” he began, ready to ask the question he’s been so eager to find an answer to. “i’d like to think..you have somethin’ to tell me?”

the two of you sat silently, not knowing how to communicate at the moment.

author’s note: this is my 2nd jay fic I am posting on tumblr, I do hope you all like it! the upcoming titles for the jay fics in my masterlist are all based on songs, but (if it makes sense) they revolve around the same universe in this fic (as in, Y/N and Jay are in a relationship, and Namjoon is the ex). if you're also an ARMY and Joon is your bias too then congratulations?! LOL

“I think it’s absolutely beautiful.”

Y/N flinched at the sound of her boyfriend’s voice that tickled her ear. She could have sworn Jay was still in another room. How did he get to her so fast?

“I see it,” Y/N tilted her head, trying to look at the painting from a new angle. “You spent quite some time in that room.”

“Yeah, guess who I bumped into,” Jay chuckled as he put both his hands in his pockets.

Before Y/N could answer, she noticed a figure walking towards them. He was smiling and awkwardly fixing the beanie he had on his head.

“Sorry I kept your boyfriend away for a while. We were discussing a particular sculpture,” Namjoon smiled apologetically.

No way, Y/N thought to herself. But of course, this is the art gallery.

“Oh, I’m glad he found someone to talk to, as I’m pretty much clueless about the arts,” Y/N instinctively took a step closer towards Jay. Jay just smiled back.

“First time seeing the exhibition?” Namjoon asked.

There was a slightly longer silence as neither Jay nor Y/N knew who Namjoon was actually talking to, but Jay took the initiative to answer.

“For me, no. For her, yes, I’m guessing?” Jay looked at Y/N to confirm. His eyes were asking something else.

Are you okay with this?

Y/N nodded. “I don’t go to museums unless someone asks me too.”

“Right,” Namjoon nodded, thinking he should have known. After all, he did ask her to go several times before. He then cleared his throat before checking his watch. “My free time is up. Gotta catch a meeting in an hour. See you around at the office?”

This time Y/N looked away and observed a painting on purpose, knowing that Jay should be the one answering.

“Of course,” Jay smiled, giving Namjoon a firm hybrid between a handshake and a fist bump.

Oh God, they’re both awkward. Y/N was mentally facepalming.

Once Y/N was sure Namjoon was out of the premises, her knees turned to jelly and she immediately grabbed a hold of Jay’s arm.

“You good?” Jay’s face immediately turned to worry.

Y/N shook her head. “I’m sorry I left you and walked ahead.”

Jay laughed. “Why would you be sorry?”

“If I stayed back you wouldn’t have to face him alone,” Y/N’s grip became tighter. “No one wants to face their partner’s ex.”

Jay shrugged. “It’s no big deal. I see him pretty often at the office too.”

Y/N was in shock. “You do?”

They both started walking towards the exit of the art gallery, Y/N’s hand still latched around Jay’s arm.

“Is there a reason why you’re so worried about me interacting with my own senior?” asked Jay. He squeezed Y/N’s hand for reassurance.

It was cloudy outside and Y/N took this as an opportunity to dodge the question.

“Tea time at my place?” She asked, turning to look at Jay.

Sighing, Jay nodded and let his girlfriend drag him to the parking lot.

As they entered Y/N’s apartment, they both took off their jackets and while Jay headed to the kitchen, Y/N froze for a while staring at her phone before she headed to the bedroom.

“I’m gonna shower first,” said Y/N as she set her phone on the kitchen counter. Jay answered with a nod.

Once she was done, she was greeted with a hot cup of tea on the coffee table while Jay was sprawled on the sofa, already done with his drink.

“Sorry I took too long,” Y/N sat on the sofa while Jay pulled his legs to make room.

“So, are you still worrying over what happened earlier?”

Jay’s question really had to come out as Y/N took her first sip of tea, which was still piping hot, so she set her cup on the table and turned sideways to face Jay.

“Don’t you think it’s weird?” asked Y/N.

“What’s weird?”

“That you’re dating me. Or that Namjoon is my ex. I mean…”

Jay smirked and let out a chuckle, oblivious to how nervous Y/N was getting.

“Babe,” Jay scooted closer and took Y/N’s hand in his own. “You don’t have to worry about a thing.”

“Is my status making your relationship with him weird? Because if it is…”

“Then what?” asked Jay. He brought Y/N’s hand to his lips and kissed it. “If it is, then what would you do?”

Y/N realized she did not have an answer prepared. “I don’t know. I can cut him off. Not contact him at all. Ghost him. Whatever.”

“Wouldn’t that make it even weirder?” asked Jay nonchalantly as he started caressing Y/N’s cheek.

Y/N frowned. “You’re right. I’m making a big deal out of this, aren’t I? It’s not like you and Namjoon are best friends.”

Jay nodded. “If your ex was Heeseung, then that would be a problem.”

Y/N rolled her eyes and smacked Jay’s hand away playfully. Jay laughed out loud. Ever since he found out Y/N used to have a big fat crush on Heeseung for the shortest period, he had never let it go.

“Promise me you’ll tell me if you feel uncomfortable?” Y/N turned to look Jay in the eyes again. Jay nodded.

“I thought you don’t do promises?”

“Ever since I met you, a lot has changed.”

“For the better, I hope?” Jay leaned in, closing in the gap between their faces.

Y/N answered with a kiss which Jay happily reciprocated. The kiss was chaste, at first, but as Jay’s arms snaked around Y/N’s waist, their kisses became fervent. She climbed on top of him without breaking any contact while his grip on her tightened. As they continued to make out, Y/N’s hand roamed over Jay’s chest as the other finds its way up to the locks of his jet black hair. Jay adjusted his position, causing friction, and Y/N moaned into his mouth.

Hastily breaking off the kiss, Jay cupped Y/N’s face in his hands. “Wanna take this to the bedroom?”

Y/N shook her head without missing a beat. “Do me here.”

At that, Jay carefully laid Y/N on the couch, his handling careful and his touches soft. As his mouth travels down Y/N’s chin, neck, breasts, and all the way down to her thighs, Y/N noticed the sun setting outside through the window. When she felt the familiar warmth in between her legs, she closed her eyes.

Y/N woke up to the brightness of the phone screen in Jay’s hands. They were on the floor, their clothes and the sun long gone. Jay’s hand stopped rubbing circles along her back when he noticed her move.

“Good nap, babe?” He asked, putting his phone away and pulling in Y/N for a kiss. “I didn’t want to wake you up.”

“What time is it?” Y/N tried to get up, but one of her arm is still asleep. Jay sat up with her holding her in check.

“Almost 9pm,” Jay tucked a strand of hair behind Y/N’s ear and noticed all the marks around her neck and breasts. “Oh shit. You’re gonna have to cover up tomorrow. Sorry.”

Y/N took a quick glance down her body and shrugged. “What if I want to flaunt it?”

The tone in her voice and her glowing confidence inadvertently made Jay shiver.

“Fuck, please don’t make me hard again, I have zero energy right now,” Jay was practically pleading. Y/N let out a soft laugh.

“It’s okay, you don’t have to do anything,” Y/N pushed Jay’s hair back and gently nudged him to lie back down. “After the really good fuck you just gave me, it’s only fair for me to pay you back.”

Jay snickered as he covered his face with his arm, clearly embarrassed, while Y/N hovered over him and planted kisses all over his face before making her way down.

your post: Once again, I am wishing Rise fans can praise the movie without insulting/demeaning other iterations of TMNT. It's absolutely frustrating, as a fan of all the iterations plus Rise, constantly seeing people go "Rise did the Raph/Leo fight better than other where it's not just "Who's a better Leader/Leader" fights!" when not that's not the case. Rise didn't do it 'better' than the others, they just made it much more explicit, without using leadership as the framing of the fight, but the other iterations are not actually fighting about Leadership.

Yes your ask did get through, the only reason I didn't answer quite immediately was due to me not really being on Tumblr this past week. I saw your ask and was intrigued because it's a BIG /pos question, I had to ramble to my partners @dakotafinely and @namiikilo about this, and share my thoughts with them about what you asked first.

I also wanted to present my answer in a way that makes sense, hence why it took me so long. So don't worry about pressuring me, I just wanted to take time and make sure I could convey my point in a coherent manner. Sorry about causing the anxiety /gen

This is the original ask:

Since the way you worded your ask leans more towards Bayverse Leo from how you included certain actions only he does, I have to compare him to 07 Leo to make my point. Here are my thoughts, as coherent I can make them:

The Short Answer: I think Bayverse Leo, as a whole, was an attempt by the writers to expand upon 07 Leo's characterization, but fundamentally misunderstood what made 07 Leo so infuriatingly perfect.

The Long Answer(buckle up):

07 Leo is, at his core, a natural evolution of how Leo would have matured as an adult Pre-Rise. Perfectionism and having such a high standard on himself of all people combined with the knowledge of him being so good at what he does, would heightened his arrogance and beliefs in his own skills.

This is how it was/is before he took the journey, across the world that kept him separated from his brothers for over a year. Leo has been expected to be perfect for so long there would only be a matter of time before that expectation jades him, that he would become a bit of an asshole who wrongly believes he doesn't need to lower himself to anyone's standards because he is the standard.

*I discuss things that are mentioned in the prequel comics, specifically the issue that discuss and expands upon Leo's Journey. So I'll include screenshots from the wikia that explain the events in that.

** I also own these 5 prequel comics!

However, since he went on the trip by himself, and with none of his brothers, especially Raphael, to keep him in check, his ego and sense of self got warped, and especially with the things he's gone through on his journey. He learned all of these things from his journey but never actually put them in use towards his own family in several different ways:

Leo lacks compassion when it comes to his brothers and why they took on their jobs and new roles and scoffs at April when she's explains to him what they do. He lacks the compassion to inquire with his brothers and the way they were all hurting-- Mikey feeling like his family isn't whole anymore, hence his nostalgia for the good days, Donnie having to care for their arguably disabled father while also working an at home job, Raph having the trauma of witnessing an former vigilante who seemed to understand him die in front of him, and that being how he got the Nightwatcher armor we see in the movie(Promise he would take it because David, the vigilante, didn't want anyone in his family/police to figure out who he really was.) Compare this to Bayverse Leo, who audibly and explicitly hears and knows how his actions harm his family, but chooses not to engage with it and dismiss their feelings.

Leo lacks humility and refuses to understand his brothers as they've changed. Because of that, he refuses to try and understand his brothers as the people they are now.

07 Leo is extremely selfish and shortsighted because of how he constantly frames the journey he went on was for them, to better himself for them.

He lacks the courage having the courage to even consider how badly they were effected by him going on this journey.

He most importantly lacks community that he continually estranged himself from

Each one of these things that's bolded or italicized is a trait that he was supposed to have learned and fully understood on his journey.

In my eyes, the things that makes 07 Leo stand out from Bayverse is more so how all of these external components worsened his fractured development. Bayverse, in a way, engineered those components that fractured his development.

07 Leo has never actively gone out of his way to revoke or invalidate his family's autonomy, right in front of them compared to Bayverse(who as a reminder forced Donnie to lie to his brothers about the possibility to be human and got on Raph when he called him out for revoking their autonomy to make a choice at the chance of gaining privilege where they are currently systemically disadvantaged), but does it in the way that can be perceived as him doing what is best for his family. Examples being him not wanting to admit or entertain the idea that the night watcher is going good or that his own family made the choice to idolize the vigilant on their own—he believes that night watched is encroaching on his territory and also being a bad influence to his brothers, primarily Raph and Mikey and fights to stop Nightwatcher from being a bad influence on the two and the fact that Leo perceived his own methods to be effective, combined with his own hypocritical view of Nightwatcher—or him attributing fault to everywhere else but 07 Leo potentially being part of the problem as well.

However, you can possibly argue that because the world has jaded him so hard and he has forgotten the point of community, the world had literally made him hate humans on his training journey. It eroded him of certain things that by the time he gets back home, he just doesn't have that compassion he supposedly learned on his training and doesn't learn to dig within himself to practice empathy to his brothers and doesn't bother seeing them as who they are now, he literally scoffs at the idea of who they have become when April tells him and expects them to fall inline as perfect soldiers and obey orders, to erase what made them them, doing unto them as what has been done to him.

In addition, along with him being a pretty perfect development for a character like Leo, pre-rise,he has been expected to be perfect for so long there would only be a matter of time before that expectation jades him, that he would become a bit of an asshole who wrongly believes he doesn't need to lower himself to anyone's standards because he is the standard.

Leo's and his family's arc in the 2007 movie is about growing up and fixing a broken family caused by abandonment from pretty much all angles, Bayverse Leo is the one who's the agent and inevitable cause of abandonment nor is he mired by the tenets of nostalgia among him and his family either and the unwillingness to grow up and mature.

Could this be more coherent? Absolutely, maybe in the future I'll make a video essay giving a full retrospective on the 2007 movie and especially with the frustrating yet beloved nuance of 07 Leo's character.

This is my first ask on Tumblr, so I hope i'm not doing anything wrong, i'm understandable (english isn't my first language, unfortunately) and i'm not breaking any of your rules.

First of all, I really want to tell you that I really appreciate your blog and love how you always support everything with comparisons from your own life (or others) and how you provide us with original content and support us to see them and form our own opinions. 💜

I'd love to ask you some questions and get your thoughts about it. I hope you haven't answered them before and I just missed it (otherwise please link them again!). And I'm hard at work going through your masterlist and your other posts (that's really a lot, respect! And I'm probably still counting as a Baby Army (October 2021) and young Jikook supporter, so it'll take me a while to get through). So...

1. Who do you think is on Jimin's lock screen during the Sunshine-line Wlive in Busan? It looks like the pics from the Vminkook outing in LA so maybe Jimin, Tae or JK? Do you think Jimin would take himself as lock screen? And I heard that Hobi might have been there too, or am I just mixing it up? As far as I know there aren't any pictures of him...

2. I would like to hear your thoughts about the timeline while they were in Busan and about the Taekook beach debate. Simply because I am confused by the different statements and times and your posts and replies often help me to understand. Also, you often point out things or views that I would have missed. And I just enjoy your thought processes and your writing. So first I heard that there were rumors that JK and Tae arrived early (on 13.10?) and that they were on the Busan beach at night (around 3 o’clock?) with staff and there is a video of them (please JK, if you were there with Tae, please show us the pictures, they must be mega cute!🥺🥰) and that they shared a hotel room. And that Koo was in Busan at the time of the video recording for Jimin's birthday. For that another question: do you think Jimin and Jungkook didn't sleep with their parents to protect them or because it was too far away or something? Or maybe there are guidelines from Hybe that all their idols have to share the same hotel for logistics and security reasons? When do you think JK and Jimin visited their parents, the 13th or the 14th? And Tae was out to dinner with his parents and his friend Seo-Joon on the 15th (I'm so happy for him that they were there and he got to spend time with them) and Hobi was also out once (?). Did I miss something?

I recently stumbled across the Jikook timeline by jiminieloved and was extremely pleased with the great sorting and lots of content that was unfamiliar to me. Since Tumblr confuses me and I don't really know who you know and who you don't, I thought I'd mention it. If you know and can recommend other great in-depth Jikook or OT7 blogs I would be very happy. Same goes for non-shipper (but also Jikook or other pairings) translators who gives background on language, expression and culture. And since you responded to a Taekook account the other day (thetaekookcloset), I took a look at that one and liked it. While I don't agree with her/his/their (?) opinion, blogs like this still give me a different perspective, which I think is important and interesting. Plus they often have cute new gifs and pictures. If you know any good blogs about other pairings I'd really appreciate it too.

Hi! Sorry it took me so long to answer this. I'll do my best. Lol as for your first question, who's Jimins photo background? I mean, people DO post themselves as their background, especially when at cool places and its a more artistic photo and not just a selfie all the time. Jimin even shared back in 2015 that his phone background was a photo of him and Yoongi together. SO I do personally think its himself at beach. Otherwise the possibilities are that it's either JK, Tae or Hobi. Hobi DID go to beach. There is some speculation on if he was there with the maknae line or by himself at an earlier time, but they all posted photos there and were all 4 there. Maknae line defintely there together, Hobi maybe (probably?) With them too. The 4 of them were all attached at the hip in LA and going on little dates all together the whole time. Lol it was so cute. And it's such a blurry blob from what we can see, it's hard to make any kind of reasonable guess lol

2) Busan Timeline! Lol not easy, and nothing is definitive honestly either. But we can try to piece it together in a way that makes sense. Honestly this just feels like the nicest phrased can you debunk tkkr rumors for me ask. Lol No, Tae and JK didn't show up to Busan early. They were in Rehersals with the rest of the members up until they all left for Busan at the same time. Jimin during his WLive stated that they had all just got done rehearsaling together before he went and started his birthday live. But let's timeline it.

October 12th

BTS members all together in rehearsals and practice and filmed the RUN BTS practice video. He was in the same outfit when Hobi caught him in the company building after filming said dance practice (above) and said he just wanted to wish him a happy birthday. Before assuming they went to get ready to travel to Busan.

Jimin then changed his clothes and started his Wlive at 11:49 PM on the 12th. His Wlive ended around 1 AM on the 13th KST time. Link to the live below too

October 13

Jimin ends his live (above) around 1 am and then at some point, presumably all 7 members and their staff get ready to go. They all leave for Busan after this Wlive and then get settled into their hotel. We know they all left then too and not early becayse not only do we see footage of them all there at Hybe on the 12th and not in Busan on the 10th... but they also told us during rhe after concert Wlive that they all came down 2 days before the concert on Jimins bday.

It only takes an hour to fly from Seoul to Busan, it only takes 4 hours to drive. If they left after 1 am, that gave them all plently of time to get into their hotel, settle in, and go to sleep before waking up to rehearse for the concert. Jungkook probably filmed his birthday video for Jimin after getting settled in/before going to sleep right before 5am KST. Almost 5 hours of time between the 2 events (JMs live ending and JK posting) is more than enough time for them to travel there and get settled into their rooms.

They probably rested and then all went to rehearsals later that evening where again, they were all together. Hobi posted again a HBD to Jimin with a video of him FROM rehearsals and Jin posted with him a photo they took after rehearsals

October 14

They spent the next day in rehearsals and practice and setting things up for the concert, that would be the 14th. Jimin and JK probably went to see their parents either on the 13th or 14th to see their families while in town and celebrate Jimins birthday. Sometime when they weren't in rehearsals for odd hours. And as for your side question over why they didn't sleep at their family homes, probably because they were keeping odd practice hours and it was easier and made more sense to stay in the hotel with the rest of their team and all their staff.

October 15

They have their concert! Lol the concert started at 6 PM and ended around 830 PM. Give them some more time to get cleaned up a bit back stage, gather their stuff, leave, get back to the hotel and get resettled in too. And then vhopeminkook do an after concert Wlive for us for just 20 minutes. My Post over that live here. It gets reiterated that they had just all gotten to Busan on the 13th and everything else discussed in the vlive, I basically include in my post linked. JK also mentions having not really gone out to do anything yet while they were there. I'm assuming jikook don't count visiting their family as going to do something. After the Wlive, Tae goes out to dinner with hus family and Hyungshik, his friend from Wooga Squad who all had come to the concert, as well as his manager too. This has been confirmed both by the many fans who saw them there and the restaurant themselves. No other members were there at this dinner.

After the restaurant Tae went to the beach and posted photos to his Instagram that he took while he was out there. Apparently the beach was Haeundae Beach and is quite close to the restaurant that he ate at with his family. So to me, personally, I think it would make more sense to guess that the people at the beach with him were the same people at the restaurant with him. Hyungshik, his manager, maybe a bodygaurd or 2, and maybe his parents too if they decided to come along. Honestly, that just makes more sense to me.

People said it was Jungkook as fact because they claimed the shoe print was birkenstock slipper print of the shoes that JK wore. And that the other shadow who wasn't Tae was wearing a bucket hat and that JK wears bucket hats. (Like no one else owns those shoes, or could make a similar shoe print or wears bucket hats) And someone claimed to have seen them there and posted "proof" which was just a super grainy pixels of what only honestly looked like one person. And for all we know, wasn't even Tae alone but a stranger. Plus that same person was caught lying about other "photo evidence" they had of posting what else they had done that day. Stealing a different armys photo of the line at Magnate. They also proved to be a lowkey sasaeng taking JKs photo after an event where fans werent supposed to really be and posting photos of random motorcycles trying to pass it off as Jungkooks. So clearly their credibility is trash. The evidence just isn't there as proof. And honestly, if JK was there, I'm pretty sure Tae just would've posted him. BUT there also isn't any evidence that JK WASNT there. So it could've been them. Tae could've wanted to go to beach, called up the members and asked if anyone else wanted to go and JK said yes and Taes family all went back to their own hotel instead. So who knows. Passing anything off as fact here is silly. It's likely that it wasn't JK, but it can't be proven one way or the other. Trying to do so is ridiculous.

They claimed Taekook to be sharing a hotel room early (they weren't there early so moot point) or through the rest of their trip because Tae posted the photo above on insta as well in his hotel room bathroom mirror. People found the hotel they were staying at (weirdos) and "proved" taekook were sharing rooms based on how the rooms had the same wall and headboard patterns (they used JKs bday video to Jimin as proof to show his hotel room walls/headboard) and that the bathrobe is the same too (robe you can see is blue/white in the corner of Taes pic).... like hotels don't have a common theme of "things" like walls, headboards, beds, sheets, robes, towels, etc. Lol so again, it's just kind of silly and doesn't make any sense. I'm pretty sure at this point all the members are getting their own rooms as Hybe rents out an entire floor of a hotel for BTS and their staff members when they go places for concerts. Both for comfort and for safety as this is something they can now afford to do. Lol but again, no proof none of the members decided on a hotel room sleepover in any variation. But the "facts" are facts or proof of anything in either direction.

A/N: part 2 of the fuck you drabble/oneshot i made- Also due to the amount of p*rn bots circling tumblr, im blocking blogs who have a default pfp, no title, and have no posts. Sorry for the inconvenience! Also this is long af- I wont be posting for the next 3 days as it is my exams, again. Warning/s: Murder, mentions of cheating, violence, successful assassination attempt. Summary: It's been a few years since you last saw them. You have been working as an assassin to make ends meet. You get a request to take out a girl. Not just any girl. The girl Alma was with. ︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶

You were opening up your phone to check on social media. As you were watching some videos, you decided to go check on your secret. The main reason you were making money. You opened up the app that looked like a dictionary. It asked for facial recognition and the password. You let the app scan your face and entered the password. It was the assassination app. You checked your requests for any new assassination requests. So far, there were a lot, it makes sense as you are the third top assassin, and was never caught. But one request caught your eye. It was requesting for you to kill a girl. Not any normal one. The girl you caught Alma with. And their offering a hefty amount of money too! 10,000$ to be specific. You accepted their request and were going to meet up at their house in Wales when the job is done. Ha! Funny isnt it? The risk of getting caught by your ex-wife. Almost like the time you caught her. Actually scrap that, Just like the time you caught her. Adrenaline was rushing through your veins. The thought of seeing her again in shock of her seeing her ex-wife murdering a-not-so-innocent girl. You were getting ready for the job. Shotgun's, pistol's, knives, smoke bombs, your mask, your hoodie, and most importantly your lucky necklace, which included a photo of the children in it. Just the children, no Alma cause you were heartbroken and cut that part of the photo off. You made sure that everything was intact and ready for murder. Violence is not the answer is what you would tell to a child. But to a grown adult? Violence is the answer to almost everything. They can take it, their a grown adult adult after all. You found out that this girl was in Wales. Stalking skills sure do come help in assassination. ≪•◦ Time skip ◦•≫ You were currently on Wales, your backpack was heavy, but it is a small price to pay for you not getting killed by police. After all, you did kill hundreds. If they found out, you would be sentenced to death almost immediately. Oh sweet Cairnholm. I missed you. You tried to find out where this girl was, your not planning to stay for long. You put on your white hoodie and mask and started to walk the place. A regular person would think; why would an assassin wear a white hoodie? Well because, you can just see the blood splatter across your hoodie. One might say you were crazy. But you have gone too crazy to care. You heard a crack. Reflexes kicked in, you turned around almost instantly. There you saw her. The very girl you saw Alma with. "Well. Long time no see hm? Never knew your name." You said, your voice deep. "Huh? Who are you?" The girl foolishly said. "The person you will see last." You murmured. Grabbing your knife and then slashing her dead. The blood splattered against your white hoodie. Oh, this was fun. You took off your hoodie and was ready to go to the person's home. The person was non-binary, so you tried your best to use their preferred pronouns, which was they/them. You started to walk to their house and knocked. The person answered and asked you to come in "Hey, thanks for eliminating her for me. She was cheating on me and tried to kill me after wards. Anyways, I know your here for the money and not my sad story so here it is" The person said, and you wanted to help her out so you replied with; "No problem. I know the feeling. Please contact me again, next time is on the house." You grabbed the briefcase and started to walk back to the ferry. You decided to might as well visit them. As long as they dont find out your secret. You walked to the cave entrance and heard the familiar popping sound you hadn't heard in years. You heard the flowing of the grass as the weather of Cairnholm was changed from a foggy day, to a clear, sunshine day. You started to walk to the home. You heard the familiar laughing of the children in the distance. But, you couldnt stay long. Or else, they might find out your secret. You breathed in and finally stopped being scared and knocked. Ready to face whoever it was, after all, if it was Barron you could easily slice his head off.

Emma answered the door, her eyes wide as she saw you. "Miss Y/n?" She said, her voice shaky and laced with both curiosity and sadness. "Yes?" You said, mischief laced in your voice in contrast with her curiosity and sadness. She came forward and hugged you, tears coming out of her atlantic-like blue eyes. "Shh, I'm here now." you cooed. You were an assassin, not a monster. "Now let's come inside, shall we?" You said as the blonde-haired teenager sniffled. She led you inside. You were wondering were Alma was and that question was soon answered when you saw her outside watching the children with a smile on her face. You started to walk closer to her, your black and white Japanese-styled shoes clicking on the wooden planks beneath you. "Hello darling, long time no see hm?" You murmured in her ear from behind. She instantly turned around. "Y/n!" ︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶

how do you find so much music to listen to? i don't have any friends who like music as much as i do, so i end up getting all my recs from tumblr, but i feel like i'm perpetually lagging behind all my cool mutuals. also, i feel like it takes me a long time to listen to an album and form a conclusive opinion on it, but you seem like you can knock that shit out super fast (remembering that music rating project u did). any tips for broadening my library? thank u and have a great day

This has been in here forever but i never took the time to answer it, i'm sorry! Hopefully belated is better than not at all

Long story short, it's one of those things where the more music you listen to, the more you find to listen to, so once you get to a certain point it's a bit of a self-perpetuating thing. That said, i do have some tips, and a lot of them will be really basic but i'm writing this more as a general thing for people who want to listen to more / different music but don't know where to start:

something that really helps (and especially helped when i was first getting suuuuuper into music listening and criticism as a main hobby of mine (i used to write actual full length reviews instead of the tiny capsules i do on twitter lol)) is just lists! As bullshit as stuff like Rolling Stone's "500 Greatest Albums of All Time" or the p4k decade lists are, they're undoubtably great overviews of things from the perspective of each outlet that puts them out, and i definitely only got into certain bands or albums because they were canonized in some way or another. plus, if one outlet's lists seem to vibe with you consistently well (for example, Tiny Mix Tapes' decade and year end lists are so very much my shit that i'd listen to almost everything on them) you can follow that site and see what they're reviewing and liking now (RIP TMT for many reasons but losing this especially from them was a bummer for me)

in addition, more narrow lists are great for if you want to get into something specific but don't know where to start. a lot of times, if i want to check out a specific genre but don't know anything about it, i'll check out the RYM "top 5" of whatever that genre is (RYM has its own clear biases and limitations, but especially for smaller microgenres i find it a super helpful starting point) or i'll literally just google "best reggaton albums of all time" or something similar and check out the albums everyone is recommending. canonization is problematic, but by looking into what the majority of people have come to call the best of a certain style or genre or period of time can give you an idea of what the tropes and characteristics of something are, and you can branch out from there if you see yourself digging at least parts of it.

from there, once i have a good starting point, i will both look up smaller / more personal lists (individual people's "best of" lists are always way more interesting than ones multiple people voted on because there's nearly always a curveball or two) and dive deep on both "suggested" similar bands as well as looking into the label or people they made music with, other projects by the same creators, etc., and that can get you quickly off the mainstream road and into fun little sidestreets.

then, last but not least, i will literally just search bandcamp or a music torrent site (by which of course i mean a place where you completely legally buy music and never pirate it) for a specific tag or genre or year and download the ones with covers i like lol. this is way more likely to lead you to mediocre or bad music, but like, that fairy pop album by diana starshine i loved last year i found exactly by searching for i think "hyperpop" on bandcamp. i saw the cover, liked it, checked out a few tracks, and voila. it's shallow and doesn't pay off all the time, but honestly it's been surprisingly successful for me in the past (except when it comes to post 00's j-pop, for some reason many of the best j-pop album covers contain some of its blandest music).

What has been the BL that took you by surprise this year?

Love In The Air!

I remember watching the pilot trailer when it aired but truthfully I forgot about this show until everyone started talking about it again 😅 Anyways... I fell in love so fast it’s not even funny. My mental health has been meh at best the past few months and I needed a show like LITA to just watch without having to really think :) Also the cast? Like?! In love with all four of them (especially Noeul).

The Eclipse!

I watched ep 1 when it first came out but never continued the show because I wasn’t feeling it (little did I know 🤡). Everyone was hyping this show up so I made myself sit down and watch it... ended up binging all 6 (aired) episodes and safe to say I was hooked... I mean if anyone on here saw my blog you were probably fed up of me talking about this show (very sorry). So yeah... It’s now one of my favourite BLs. We won’t talk about the cast because I will never stop, lets just say I am now a Neo and khaotung fanpage!

This technically doesn’t count but I finally watched Bad Buddy this year and I’m mad at myself for waiting so long.

What has been the BL that you felt a bit disappointed with this year?

Cutie Pie- I didn’t dislike it but I found myself getting bored and skipping a lot, especially towards the end... shout out to Perth in that black shirt tho😏 Also loved the side couples

Even Sun- Listen I will do anything for BounPrem but lord I was struggling with this one. Why was the intro so long?! also who wrote the script because ooft. Skipped everything apart from the BounPrem scenes.

What has been your favourite BL this year?

KinnPorsche- Lets all act surprised! This show was my entire personality all summer and the reason I came back to tumblr lol. Met so many lovely and amazing people because of this show and it will always have a special place in my heart. It also gave us the masterpiece that is Why Don’t You Stay aka my most played song of 2022. Again the cast is everything to me!

Semantic Error- No explanation needed for this one really. I swear Seoham has been in the military for years! Why is it going so slowly?!

Between Us- Are we only 4 episodes in? Yes. Do I care? NOPE! After waiting almost 3 years they could just stand in that locker room arguing for 12 episodes and I would still watch every second! As much as i tried not to, I did and still do have high expectations for this show BUT so far everything is perfect- I don’t really care about Team’s friends as characters or the relationship between Bee and Prince? but I also don’t hate it.
