Tedependent (and bi Ted) in season 3 episode 7
We have Ted whistling and being impressed by a man's hair “Look at that head of hair”. Ted and Trent have both talked about Trent's hair before "Because of the hair and the whole vibe?" and Ted's: "You know, they got a big old Ziploc bag full of your hair ties down at the lost and found. You should pop on down, if you still want 'em." As far as I can remember they are the only ones who has ever talked about Trent's hair in the show (correct me if I'm wrong). To compare it to another scene, we have a scene between Roy and Keeley, which is meant to be seen romantically between them where they say this: "Yeah. Woman with the hair." "Keeley Jones, The Independent Woman Magazine." A scene set in the pressroom where most of Ted and Trent's interactions, with a few exceptions, take place during season 1 and 2. She also uses The Independent as a joke about her being independent while still looking to be in a relationship. Which is similar to Trent always introducing himself in the pressroom with "Trent Crimm, The Independent." And Ted and Trent's last scene of season 2: "You know what this makes you now, though, right?" "Trent Crimm. Independent." Hair is also talked about with other couples we're supposed to look at romantically. Roy and Keeley, Higgins and his wife, Sam and Rebecca.
More under the cut:
When Beard is talking about Jane dropping hints and Ted thinks he’s talking about marriage but Beard is talking about pegging and Ted doesn’t seemed shocked or outraged or anything he just “Oh. Well, still.” Ted have been pegged confirmed??? (And then he asks what magazines contains the topic of pegging, just for normal reasons, no big deal). And while pegging can be enjoyed by people of all sexualities, I find it interesting that they brought that up and the "straight man in middle America" isn't at all fazed by that. Not even a double take, just "yup, that's a big commitment", with all the other hints that Ted is not straight... yeah...
“Hey, Trent” “Hello Ted” Now this isn't really evidence, because even non queer people say hello to each other. But I wanted to include it because it's just Ted that acknowledges that Trent is standing there. Beard and Roy doesn't say anything, nor does Trent say anything to them. It's an interesting moment to include, if they hadn't said anything no one would have really noticed. Because you'd just assume that they'd seen each other earlier that day so there is no need to say hello again. But they did include it. It's about Trent being present and Ted noticing it. It's like the scene in the last episode of season 2 when Trent is absent from the pressroom. Ted notices and he stops speaking for a moment while looking worried/confused. Only for him to be happy to see him, even admitting that he was worried he'd been injured. Ted's excitement when he sees Trent in Rebecca's office in season 3 episode 2. We see them talking after the match against West Ham (they could have had him talking to anyone, but he was talking to Trent). It's Trent being the one to notice and the first to acknowledge that something is wrong when Ted gets the text about Henry being in a bullying incident. It's the fact that these two seem to be drawn to each other, seeking each other out and noticing each other.
Ted not knowing what step number four is yet and Trent being obsessed with finding out what number four is. We even get to see his notes about it, something we haven’t seen before. And with Trent's newfound confidence since his talk with Colin, he's being more comfortable around Ted and Ted rewards him with smiling and even a touch to the shoulder (that Trent even reacts to by looking at his shoulder afterwards). Just look at the way he runs after Ted and just gushes over Ted's work as a coach. (Would he have done that pre-Amsterdam, I doubt it.)
Ted talking about people being put in boxes since an early age. (Children are always assumed to be straight and are often told to stay in that box for the rest of their lives). In Sunflowers Colin talks about not wanting to be a spokesperson, he just wants to live his life, to have his two lives combined. But if he were to come out he'd be a spokesperson whether he wants to or not. Because he'd be put in a box, his box would be "gay footballer". What boxes are Ted put into? American? White? Straight? Which one of those boxes are something he could have actually have been forced into? Straight. He may or may not have already realised that it's not a box he fits into. But to have him talk about being put into boxes when we know that he's being looked at as straight by everyone around him, including the TV audience...
Trent asking Ted if he thinks that it's a good idea to use a tactic the boys don't understand and while doing so he's holding his glasses with his little finger out (while we can see the two threads of red on Ted's jacket). Later Ted explains to the team: "In Japanese culture, they have a myth where they believe that all soulmates are connected by an invisible red string. And those strings are attached to each of their little fingers."
"Well, Trent, the way I see it, it's kind of like taking a hike with Robert Frost. It could go either way." That's a very bi thing to say, Ted. Also this poem by Robert Frost: The Road Not Taken: Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair, And having perhaps the better claim, Because it was grassy and wanted wear; Though as for that the passing there Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay In leaves no step had trodden black. Oh, I kept the first for another day! Yet knowing how way leads on to way, I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.
Two roads, coming back to the other one another day, not knowing if you'll come back. Taken a road less traveled and that made all the difference. Pretty queer if you ask me. Especially considering bi people are constantly told to pick one, pick one side and stay there, you're either gay or straight, you can't walk both roads.
Ted feeling the need to express his individuality by growing facial hair. He didn’t go for the beard (because he didn’t want to hide his sexuality aka use a beard because Beard already had that) so he went with a goatee. And then Beard pointed out that he shouldn’t have a goatee right before he was about to walk down the isle (get married to a woman) and instead he went with a moustache. When we think of bisexuality and moustaches, who do we think of? Who do we know that Ted saw perform at Wembley in 1985? "I remember being a little kid, sitting in front of the television and watching Queen perform right over there during Live Aid." Who in Queen famously had a moustache? Freddie Mercury. Freddie Mercury who wrote "Love of my Life" for Mary Austin, his then girlfriend. Freddie who, as we all know later got together with Jim Hutton and they were together until he passed away. Ted has said that he will always love Michelle, because they are still family. He still loves her, but they are no longer together.
Trent running after Ted to excitedly tell him that it's going to work. Telling him how he's noticed what Ted has been doing for three seasons (again, it's about being seen). How he's created a space that is filled with trust and support, something he himself has been the recipient of. Ted has both trusted him (allowing Trent to write a book about the team, having him follow them around even after Trent wrote that article) and supported him (when Rebecca, Higgins and Keeley wanted him to say no to Trent and he said yes anyway, him telling Roy to knock it off with his treatment of Trent, Ted inviting him in to share his ideas).
“Yeah, but he’s our dork.” Ted says smiling fondly. It's about the fondness. Roy is the one who refers to Trent as a dork first, but Ted is the one who turns it into something that is only positive. He's smiling and to him, having Trent be their dork is something that makes him happy. The other two are more like "yeah, I guess he's cool" *shrugs*.
Does this mean that Ted and Trent will get together? No. But I do find it interesting to find all of these small details that connects the two of them. It's the way Trent went from "Is this a fucking joke?" to excitedly telling Ted that "It's going to work!". Ted changed Trent's life, and in a way I believe that Trent changed his. Trent doesn't have a problem asking the hard questions, but he also sees Ted. He can see that Ted is a mess (when it comes to coaching and possibly also on a personal level) and yet he believes in him. He challenges him on his tactics and his way of doing things, but he believes him and the thought of Ted succeeding makes him excited enough to run after him to tell him that he's done something with the team that is going to work. Something he could have told him calmly and in private, but he couldn't wait. He had to tell Ted right at that moment. It's the running through the airport at the end of the movie.
And as for Ted being bi or not. Well, I know that he's referred to himself as both straight and an ally. But as someone who once thought they were both straight and an ally before they realised that they were in fact bi, because they fell in love with a girl... he might not feel ready to deal with that, or like me he knew about his attraction to women in his case, men in mine and so we must be straight, and then just assumed that all straight people think that people of the same sex/gender are attractive.

I don't mean to pile onto your bad day but I've been seeing a lot of creators on tiktok complain/compare the bucktommy and henren tags/fic count on ao3 because there's almost more bucktommy fics then there are henren fics. The number one claim is always that bucktommy writers are racist because we don't write for henren. But like, that's not correct at all? People can write fanfiction for whatever they want to. If they want to see more henren stuff then they can write it on their own.
We can coexist without fighting each other. I'm just tired of people screaming about how bucktommy is anti this or anti that, when we're just vibing by ourselves and don't want the drama but the drama finds us anyway because Sucky People are loud and get heard the most.
You’re good, anon. It actually gave me something to think about during work.
As a quick disclaimer, before we begin, I’m not a POC. I am not speaking for anyone in the Black community and am not attempting to speak over them. My following thoughts are as a queer woman-ish who is also a writer.
I think it must be noted that Hen and Karen have been overlooked since day one. The fact that Buck coming out made it the “gay firefighter show” when we’ve had a beautiful canonical lesbian couple since the very beginning? Is only proof. Is this proof of racism in the fandom? Maybe. Quite possibly. I would argue that it comes from a misogynistic point as well.
If you look in any fandom, regardless of the color of their skin, any wlw ship is horribly overlooked. I’ve done some tag searching on ao3. Straight and mlm ships battle for dominance while there are canonical and fanonical wlw ships that have a drastic difference in numbers. This isn’t a good thing. But it’s an experience that spans fandoms.
I find it sad that BuckTommy has almost more fics, with only two episodes under their belt, than Henren with 7 seasons. However, this isn’t a reason to hate on BuckTommy. The ship didn’t do anything wrong. Comparison is the thief of joy and it’s also rage bait. I think that some creators simply are using anything they can to hate on BuckTommy. Which that makes it sadder, that they aren’t concerned about Henren other than pushing their own agenda.
This isn’t to say all creators who are speaking about this are doing this, but I guarantee some are.
Now, let me speak as a writer.
As someone with 62 published fics on ao3, I write almost exclusively mlm ships. This isn’t because I hate women. And as a queer woman-ish, don’t even start about homophobia. But for some reason, I find it so much easier to write men than I do to write women. This is true for straight and wlw ships and also just in general. I love Henren, but I don’t have the faintest idea about how to write them.
It’s hard enough to write as it is and I’m already writing on ships that are easy for me. I try to write women and it just hasn’t come out right. I want to challenge myself, branch out, and maybe I’ll write for Henren to do that. But I say all this to point out that for some people like me, writing some ships and demographics of ships are just a little more difficult.
That leads me into something else.
I, as a white person, worry about accidentally writing non-white characters wrong. And this was reinforced not too long ago when we had that whole thing on ao3 with deliberate racism in 9-1-1 fics. If anyone has resources or advice for writing non-white characters, I would love to hear that! The last thing I want to do is cause any harm.
I feel like I’ve spoken a lot about me, but that’s because I can’t really speak for anyone else. I can only speak from my experience.
We already have a ship war between BuckTommy and Buddie. We don’t need to pit more people against each other. I think we can love BuckTommy while agreeing that Henren needs to be seen and appreciated and treated equally.
End note to say: I tried to speak as delicately and as sensitively as I could, but if anything came out wrong, please feel free to point it out (kindly). Again, I speak for no one but my very little section of the world. I’m interested to hear what people of other backgrounds have to add!

something i fucking adore about puppet history, or at least this season of it, is how predictable (not the right word but i cant think of a better one right now) it is. not in the sense of like "ohh cmon we all knew that was gonna happen boooo" but in the sense of "oh my god i was right ! i knew that was gonna happen !" like, for example, from the beginning of this season, i knew that the professor was a hologram, i instantly theorized about the idea that hea a hologram and the box is his power source. and when i found out i was right ? i was ecstatic. i was so fucking excited that i was right. and thats what i love about this show. the fact that you are able to pick up on all these little hints and clues, all the little breadcrumbs and foreshadowing. we are given all these little things to pick apart and sink our teeth into. the fact that you are able to build theories upon them and even have your theories be correct, but even if you are wrong, or slightly wrong, its still all worth it. every episode leaves you on your toes, needing the ticking of time to go faster so you can get your grubby little hands on the latest episode. we are all putting together pieces of some grander, and probably way more surprising puzzle, and its so fucking beautiful. its so fun, and exciting, and just..god i love it.
plus, this ties into a huge reason why i love shane madej so much. why he is such an inspiration to me, especially creatively. because who else is going to do something like this ? who else is going to craft an entire multi-season puppet show about a puppet teaching insane events in history, with trivia segments for ryan bergara and whoever that episodes guest is to compete for the title of history master, that in-show puppet shows, and a musical number, where the host of the show, the professor, ends up being sent back in time and immediately eaten by a dinosaur because ryan bergara made a deal with the devil and a genie because he was sick of loosing every episode, he then realizes what a mistake he made and during the professors funeral, where it is revealed that all the puppets were turned into puppets because of the professors weird time shit and are now in some kind of limbo where theyve also created a hologram of the professor, so he kinda wishes that he never made the deal, so the weird limbo hologram professor gets sent to the now and does the show as a disguise for the fact that he wants to become fully corporeal by skinning ryan bergara and wearing him like a meat suit and successfully? (we were left on a cliffhanger) does so, MEANWHILE, back during the crustaceous period, the dinosaur that ate the professor gives birth to him, the egg hatches and now the professor is part dinosaur and has a t-rex mom and pterodactyl/pterosaur dad who love him very much, however its the fucking crustaceous period so guess whats heading the way of that sweet little family. AND THERES STILL AN ENTIRE EPISODE LEFT. who else could even do something like this? think back to the hotdaga. what started out as a silly little hotdog on a skateboard turning into a fully fleshed out story with musical numbers. he even combed through every unsolved voice over file to compile clips to create an entire fucking song using ryans voice. this is where shane excels, his creativity truly shines. he is a mad genius, a fantastic artist. shane is and always has been a storyteller, and i am so fucking proud of how far hes come. i am so happy that he is truly able to delve into his passions and create.
puppet history is such a genuinely well crafted story, a work of art, and i am so excited to see the finale of this season. thank you to everyone that has put their efforts, their hearts, and their souls into this show. thank you @wearewatcher.
i love you.

The Movie - The Bad Parts
Based on discussions with @emsylcatac earlier today, let's talk about Miraculous Ladybug & Chat Noir - The Movie (also known as Miraculous Awakening), and specifically what sucks about it. I want to clarify that this post is meant to be unfair on purpose. It's all about complaining because complaining is fun! Overall I think the movie was perfectly fine, I had fun and I recommend watching it on a big screen because it is really pretty. This post is full of spoilers, and I'll put it in the queue for the 29th so people who watch on Netflix can see it then.
Let's get to it. There are a number of different directions from which you can criticise the movie. Too many fart jokes. Too many Volkswagen cars. Not enough metro trains. Uninspired songs. I'd like to pull it back a step, though, and ask fundamentally: What was the movie trying to do, you know, as a story? Because I don't think it knows.
About something
The movie has set itself a fairly difficult task, trying to fit a monster-of-the-week show into a single cohesive narrative. This isn't impossible, other superhero movies from Marvel and sometimes Sony and even the odd DC one do that all the time. They do that by finding a core story to tell about the people involved. Tony Stark goes from war profiteer to taking responsibility. Shang-Chi fled his father and must now face him. Jessica Jones faces her trauma. Kamala Khan must figure out who she wants to become and what it means to be a hero. Hawkeye must shoot an arrow out of a bow. Stuff like that.
As a show, Miraculous Ladybug doesn't really have that. Marinette isn't standing on the wrong side of a central dramatic argument and must learn to find and believe the correct answer. Her only real problem is that she isn't kissing Adrien right now. Similar things go for Adrien, who has plot attached to him, but not really any arc beyond going from not kissing Marinette to kissing Marinette. And that's perfectly fine for a show like that, there are plenty of arcs for each individual episode. And sometimes you don't even need that and can just save yourself with twenty minutes of being fun.
The movie is exactly like the show in this regard, and in my opinion, that's a mistake. Marinette is clumsy and afraid of being awesome, but that is just basic hero's journey stuff, that isn't a real character arc. Adrien doesn't have an arc at all. So really, there is nothing here, no theme, no arc. Stuff just happens. The stuff that happens is very adorable in my opinion, but most of it doesn't mean anything.
And really, that seems to be the main point of the movie: Have adorable stuff happen. There are a lot of great trailer moments, but then if you see how they fit together in the movie, well, they mostly don't. There are some cute Adrinette scenes, but they are just here to be cute, they don't actually matter. There's some excellent Ladynoir banter, but it doesn't actually change anything or tell us anything about the characters, it's just here.
The movie certainly pretends that there's an arc here. Marinette gets an "I want" song that tells us she's unhappy about being clumsy, and she'd like to design clothes. We have a bit of a hero's journey. We have a tiny bit of a conflict when Chat Noir is in love with Ladybug, but she can't be in love with him because she's in love with Adrien, and he reacts poorly to that (oh god, are we going to get Adrien discourse again? Please, anything but that!). We defeat the villain, and Marinette learns the "Miraculous Ladybug" healing power. It feels like an arc, but the things don't connect to each other in any thematic way.
And sure, the movie pretends there is a theme here, which is "we're stronger together". Except being together is not really that relevant for the conclusion, and besides, nobody ever said they weren't stronger together.
Weirdly enough, there is one character who gets an arc, which is Gabriel, who realises his mistakes when he sees that Chat Noir is his son. That's nice but comes a bit out of nowhere. And the way Adrien forgives him that easily also feels unearned to me. If you go strictly by which character learned the most and changed the most, you could technically argue that this is Gabriel's story more than anyone, which is just silly.
So it all feels a bit lifeless. Many subplots start and stop at random, and many scenes in between the trailer moments feel too short and lifeless.
The Changes
The other thing that feels weird is all the ways that the lore was changed. I'm totally okay with changing the lore to fit into the movie, but so many of the choices just feel less interesting.
Most crucially, when Marinette falls in love with Adrien in the show, it's the culmination of a mini-arc in which she was wrong about him, and he was bad at social interaction, which they resolve with a ritual umbrella exchange. That is really meaningful. In the movie, Marinette falls in love with Adrien because he's handsome and he asks her if she's alright after she drops some books. That's less interesting.
A smaller detail, but in my opinion even more important, are the Akuma villains. There's no doubt that the gargoyle looks great… but it's a random person who we don't know. We certainly didn't know Ivan that well at the end of season 1 either, but we had at least some connection to him. Most importantly, Marinette had a connection to him, and so her fear for this guy she knows felt real and important. That's gone here. Same for the other villains. They're all just some guys Hawkmoth found somewhere. They don't matter to us or to the heroes, they're just around. In their fight for great visuals, they made the story less interesting.
There are plenty of other examples where the show weirdly forgoes personal moments. The Adrinette montage, for example, is sweet, but it passes by way too quickly. And it's not like the movie didn't have the time, I mean, have you seen these fart jokes?
When it comes to the superhero fights, I am mostly stumped. The movie invented completely new rules, but these rules are for the most part not better or worse, just different. It feels like they feared they'd infringe someone's copyright, but doesn't Zag own the copyright? I think the lack of insane plans prompted by a lucky charm was a bit sad, but I wouldn't call it a dealbreaker.
The Music
I think the songs were alright, I'm just mentioning them here because I know others hated them. My main issue with them is that they felt so unmotivated. It felt like someone had said, "this is where a Disney movie would have a song, so we'll put one here as well".
The Ending
Cutting there? Come on. Not gonna lie, that part got a big groan at my cinema.
The Nachos
Mine didn't taste that great.
In Conclusion
I really should have written this Sunday or Saturday when my memory was still fresh. But I think you get the gist of it. It was a fun experience, but I think it squandered most of its opportunities. There were fun moments, but the connection between them wasn't really there. Most importantly, the movie just didn't really have any story to tell other than "that Ladybug one". But while that is a fine story to have as the premise of a show, it doesn't really work well for a single movie.

The eclipse of - What happened and what's going on 509. 🌞 ☀️ 🌙 🌚
In past posts, I've mentioned how the eclipses of 2017, 2023, and this weeks eclipse in 2024 were important to Beth's return.
You can read more on the eclipses here and here.
They are time markers to her return, and we can count it as a sign to look for, because Leah and Daryl were looking up at the 2017 eclipse.
I stumbled across this connection, placing them in 2017, but yesterday, other walking dead accounts put out material saying the same thing. It's confirmed, and this eclipse symbolism is part of the clues on how we "find me" or find Beth.
So it is important...
Tumblr media
Emily mentioned Monday's eclipse by re-posting a story of a person talking about how the eclipse was a big old waste of time. He thought It left much to be desired, considering all the hype there was around it.
All the whether people were talking about it. All the conspiracy people were talking about it. He thought he was gonna get superpowers from it, but he just got really cold 🥶 (notice Leah and Daryl are watching the eclipse on a fridge)
Tumblr media
I've learnt over the years that Emily leaves clues, but she will also lie lie lie. (I still love her 😆)
This is fitting because as they are using the biblical end time template over and over, and the number one sign Christ points to as a sign of his coming is deception.
Matthew 24.3
The Signs of the Times and the End of the Age
3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”
4 And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Leah's "son" called Matthew?
The fact that Emily even acknowledges the eclipse points to it meaning something.
And while it may have been a big nothing burger in some locations. Other locations got a magnificent show.
Tumblr media
The eclipse symbolism was front and center at Rick's reunion. The glowing ring of the CRM logo in the sky, is the eclipse.
Tumblr media
We saw wedding symbolism and wedding ring symbolism, which is also eclipse symbolism, and it's all connected to the return of Christ.
His coming is connected to marriage to the "bride" of Christ.
Eclipse terminology even uses the term diamond ring to describe the eclipse (You can see the "diamond" in the above eclipse picture)
It's wedding season (return/union/reunion/wedding season), and Emily is well aware of the symbolic connections to the eclipse and marriage.
She's seen here - the humming bird, at Hummingbird Nest in wedding season...
Tumblr media
Emily released the song called Rock Star when she had just left The Walking Dead.
I have talked many times before about how the end is the beginning, and the beginning is the end. The projects she did after just leaving the walking dead give clues to how she will return.
She has used the biblical end times template in much of her work, as has TWD - they just rework it.
And that's exactly what Emily did with the song Rock-star.
It's a song about marriage, and the video is in black and white (colour eclipsed). Listen here
Tumblr media
The song mentions diamond rings 💍, Converse (star) shoes, something Emily posted about recently, too.
Tumblr media
The song also talks about satellites, The Walking Dead, getting old, and...Lofting a bed above his practice space.
This scene below is from an episode after Jesus dies. (The end is the beginning)
Daryl shares the loft bed with dog, aka Beth.
Tumblr media
The loft or penthouse suite...Beth picked it.
Tumblr media
Knowing that the end is the beginning and the beginning is the end, I went back and re-watched episode 509 - What happened and what's going on.
To look for any clues that point to an eclipse and oh boy I was not disappointed.
The episode literally shows us a solar eclipse. They use flashes of blinding colored light to block out the sun...
Tumblr media
The use of pulsing and flashing lightning all through the episode always seemed odd, but now, in light of the eclipse symbolism, it makes sense.
Especially with the knowledge that the episode starts and ends with Father Gabriel quoting the bible verse about looking at what is unseen and what is eternal.
Go re-watch the episode if you get a chance, with eclipse symbolism in mind. You will see it differently.
Not only do we get the depiction of a solar eclipse, but we also see this image...
Tumblr media
We have analysed this picture many times before. What stands out to me having the eclipse in mind is the X shape on the door pointing to the X eclipse.
Obviously. We have the dog on the porch, Sirius, and the American flag, which would point to the X eclipse being over the United States.
We also see Doctor Jekyll and Mr. Hyde statue, looking up at the sky through what seems to be a magnifying glass or lens. You could say Doctor Jekyll and Mr. Hyde's personalities are night and day (eclipse)
What I found most interesting about this picture is the globe. The globe has shadows of eclipse lines on it...
After some digging, I discovered the map on the globe focuses over Africa.
If you look closely, you'll see the little growing ball of light over the ocean. I discovered that is a representation of the moon.
The globe here is pointing to a blood moon lunar eclipse that is scheduled to happen over this exact location In the year 2029.
Tumblr media
Notice in the graphic above, the eye 👁 of the moon goes from closed to open - keep this in mind for later.
I point this out because Emily has written about blood moons before in her song Mortal.
Many people thought when she released the song that it was about her and Daryl, and it is.
Here are the relevant words from the song Mortal...
Baby, that's what I call feeling mortal.
Put your head and cry on my shoulder.
We can watch the moon turn bright blood red.
We can stay the night in my tree house bed. (Loft that 🐕 dog chose)
If the end is the beginning and the beginning is the end, then It's very possible when Beth returns, Daryl and her will watch a blood red moon in her tree house bed. Their story may well end in 2029, when this real blood moon is scheduled. Why the Africa link? Who knows, maybe it's a link to the pyramids, Sirius rising and Alexandria/Andrea (Revived Roman empire territory)
After posting the story about the guy talking about the eclipse, Emily also posted this blood red picture of the album, Oh Jonathan. From which the song Mortal comes.
Tumblr media
Not a coincidence.
I've mentioned before how the antichrist receives a mortal head wound but is healed from that head wound.
Emily chose the title Mortal for this reason, it's another hint to her head wound survival and her return.
Both of these again link back to the return of Christ and the antichrist.
The beast is another term for the antichrist...
Revelation 13.3
And I saw that one of his heads was, as it were, wounded to death, and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world wondered after the beast.
Back to the blood moon clip that I showed you from Africa. What's really interesting is one specific piece of Emily's artwork for her album swim team.
Tumblr media
It matches the blood moon chart, and the blood moons eye 👁 goes from closed to open. We can watch 👁 the moon turn bright blood red...
One other connection that's worth mentioning here since we are back at Noah's house is that the bible describes the return of Christ as being like the days of Noah. 🌈
‭Matthew 24:36-39 (once again, Matthew is connected to FIND ME and Beth, and so are the days of Noah)
“Now concerning that day and hour no one knows — neither the angels of heaven nor the Son — except the Father alone. [37] As the days of Noah were, so the coming of the Son of Man will be. [38] For in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day Noah boarded the ark. [39] They didn’t know until the flood came and swept them all away. This is the way the coming of the Son of Man will be.
The days of Noah are associated with the rainbow, and we just saw Rick (Andrew Lincoln) post about a rainbow after the final of the ones who live. Here
When I took a video of the certain portions of What's happened and what's going on I realised they used all the colours of the rainbow 🌈 over the top of particular footage...
Tumblr media
And we see the same colour eclipse Beth, in this clip below, that we saw in the sun drawing eclipse...
Tumblr media
Beth - blue eclipse - Sun
Now i need to back up a bit, because before the group arrived at Noah's home.
We see them drive into a clearing, in a vehicle with this number plate
Tumblr media
The number plate says WBT 1417
This clearing they park in before going on foot to Noah's house, is the first time we see the symbol of the wolf, which is carved into the walkers that have been chopped in half and shoved into the red vehicle.
Tumblr media
We also see a girl walker trapped in a car that's been shot up, and many have speculated it was to remind us of Beth.
I very much think it's symbolic of Beth.
Tumblr media
All these connections made me think about what the number plate could stand for.
W Stands for wolf.
B T stands for Beth, Beth means house of...so WBT means house of wolf.
When I searched for house of wolf 1417, the results led me to the Wolf of Rimini.
Tumblr media
After reading about the Wolf of Rimini, for me, the most notable connection is that the Wolf of Rimini is from Italy, which connects to the antichrist coming from a revived Roman empire.
The Wolf of Rimini was known for being a military leader, which is another thing he would have in common with the antichrist, who will conquer through great military power.
The last connection that the Wolf of Rimini has that reminded me of Beth, is that he led a group to steal the remains of one of his teachers and mentors.
So in one clearing, we have wolf, antichrist, Beth, and stolen remains symbolism.
But that's not all...
The other car we see in this clearing has the number plate Luke 8:41-67.
Tumblr media
I talked about this number plate in my last post that you can read here.
This Luke number plate was related to Jesus's healing miracles around the pool of Bethesda. It's super interesting that this car has the wolf or W marked walkers in it that have had their legs cut off.
Luke in the show had his leg cut off.
The Luke number plate was also seen when Jesus was first introduced in 610, and the Luke car is parked next to the car with the walker "Beth" in it.
During this episode, Tyrese keeps talking about keeping up with the news and being aware of what's going on in the world.
Well, I was keeping up with the news over the eclipse and one article caught my attention because right as the eclipse was happening, a lady decided to shoot up a car.
It caught my attention because it looked exactly like the shot up car that the Beth Walker was in.
Tumblr media
The article said that God told her to shoot the car up.
I had to add this because the connections are too bizarre to just skip over. Hopefully, no one was hurt.
What happened and what's going on is all related to the coming wolves.
Wolf symbolism in the bible is described as something bad.
The wolf is repeatedly mentioned in the scriptures as an enemy of flocks: a metaphor for evil men with a lust for power and dishonest gain, as well as a metaphor for Satan preying on Christians, contrasted with the shepherd Jesus who keeps his flock safe.
So, the wolf symbolism being tied to the antichrist (wolf of Rimini/Roman Empire) and the Wolf Praying on the Christians (Christ/Beth/Luke) and the potential stealing of Beth's remains, all works together to paint a picture of the past but also the future story they will tell.
Another eclipse sign i noticed in this episode was when Glenn broke a C.D. in half.
Tumblr media
To me, the CD glowing in the sun reminded me of an eclipse. We have been analysing a hidden or eclipsed version of Beth's story ever since she "died."
When the group finally arrived at Noah's house, We see more hints of Beth return.
We see a sign that says Summer place (pine for Summer)
Tumblr media
We see the eclipse sun on the ground which i already showed, and the wolves not far sign.
When Noah enters his house, He places a blanket with black and white XXXX's all over it, over the dead body. While he says...
Tumblr media
When Tyrese enters Noah's brother's bedroom, we first see a telescope 🔭 and rockets. Telling us to look to the skies, more hints at the eclipse, sun, moon, and star symbolism and as if mentioned before those are also signs of the coming of Christ.
Tumblr media
The book of Luke also gives instruction to look up when you see all the signs of the second coming of Christ.
Luke 21.28
When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”
The bedroom he enters has a lot of plane and dog (Sirius) symbolism.
We saw a lot of planes and helicopters around Rick's return, and in other posts, I've already mentioned how they are symbolic of inter-dimensional travel. That can relate to God Satan, angels, or fallen angels.
Tumblr media
The Governor returns, and he represents Sirius, returning with the one eye symbolism. He talks about paying the bill. At the same time, we see more of the sun eclipse and Beth in the car symbolism in the background.
Tumblr media
All this is happening in Noah's house, and it's a sign of judgment day and the end times. 🌈
This is emphasized by showing us the train tracks to Terminus (coda/end) being shown along with the flickering rainbow eclipse lights.
Tumblr media
The last thing i want to mention is something Glenn says in this episode. At one point, he mentions the guy in the train car that they came across at Terminus (the end) who screams... they're us, we're the same...
Tumblr media
To sum up, the eclipse symbolism is huge in this episode and to Beth's return, and I bet no one (not even me) realised just how much symbolism there is for it surrounding Beth.
She will return with the same signs and symbolism that she left with.
💫🌈👁🌚✝️♾️✝️🌚👁🌈💫
If you have any questions, just send me an ask.

Lloyd is not a master, and Wu is lost in time.
I'm going to guess that the next season is going to be about Lloyd really taking on the title, and the ninja trying to find Wu. And oni are involved somehow.
Beyond that, I'm not really sure what's going to happen. I know that a majority of y'all really like these next 3 seasons, and that you've said the animation is stunning bc the budget increase from the movie. And the characters get upgraded looks, also bc of the movie.
So, I'm really looking forward to it. But first, we have Decoded and the movie. Decoded will be tomorrow. If I can, I'll try to start the movie tomorrow as well, but it will most likely be a Sunday/Monday thing. So, until tomorrow!
Below the cut are the predictions I got right and wrong
Correct
Time shenanigans and hijinks. Less that I thought there would be.
Acronix either sped up Wu's aging or severely damaged his internals. I forgot I made this guess on the first episode. I didn't know it would be a whole thing this season.
We will learn more about Kai and Nya's parents. We did! But not enough.
The numbers Zane was saying were coordinates. They were latitude and longitude points to the Time Blades' locations.
Jay will go to the scrapyard to protect his parents. There was never any doubt that he would.
The apparatus Krux was having Borg build was a time machine. A giant mech time machine.
Something will happen to the GPS Nya installed into Zane. Something did, I just can't remember what it was.
Wu is not going to do well as a prisoner. He really wasn't doing well in general, but it did get worse after he was taken as a prisoner.
Kai and Nya will meet their parents and familial conflict will ensue. It did, and then Ray almost died, and there was time travel.
Krux and Acronix will not use the fourth Time Blade to help save Wu. It wouldn't have benefited them at all to heal him, so why would they have?
Kai and Nya time traveled. And they had to pretend to be their parents for a whole 5 minutes.
They traveled to the past, and now Kai and Nya need to help out the previous Elemental Masters. Was not actually expecting this one to be correct.
Incorrect
Krux and Acronix will travel through time to collect all of the Time Blades. This would have been a fun idea.
Zane will be down and out until they can get Borg back. Nya was able to get him up and working. Albeit some... issues. And the loss of Pixal.
Kai will tell Nya about their parents in the next episode. It took him SO LONG to tell her.
The collecting of the Time Blades will parallel the collecting of the Fangblades. Not really. No.
Ronin and the other Elemental Masters will come and help the ninja collect the remaining Time Blades. They did not.
Ronin is Samurai X. He sure wasn't!
Karlof will call in reinforcements or be a member of the reinforcements. They really could have used his and the other Elemental Masters' help.
Partially
Krux and Acronix needed Borg to help create a time machine, so that they could travel through time to collect the Time Blades. The time machine part is right, but not the reason why.
Kai recognizes the symbol as his parents/fathers. I predicted way too early that he knew what it was and who it belonged to, but he did recognize it in some way.
Unconfirmed
Samurai X knows the ninja on a personal level. As their identity hasn't been confirmed in the show, I'm putting this down here.
Pixal is with Samurai X. See above.
Pixal IS Samurai X. See above.

i was looking at mai’s design again just as you do and this has no relation to the mv, theories or anything really but I LOVE her shoes????
Tumblr media
I used to have a pair similar to them (sadly they are old and broken and gone by now) but now i wanna go find similar shoes all over again
also unrelated i really love her design it’s just so pretty — but also not overly bright or complex (say, compared to levi’s stark blues and purples or ace’s red and orange).
In fact she’s almost muted, like she’s supposed to be this background character — which is what she was made out to be at the start, if not a mystery unknown character for us to solve — interestingly enough, who can blend into a crowd (thinking of min here who described her as “average” though that was probably more referring to her grades — though most describe her in those quotes according to what they noticed about her, not strictly about her looks and before seeing her title card the only hint to how she looked was teruko’s flashback scene) yet also stand out if she wishes.
Practical, maybe: she wears gloves (though I may be overthinking this, thank you kirigiri kyoko),
Tumblr media
And: She is wearing what looks like a standard hope’s peak uniform.
(Actually. Nvm. This is an analysis post. I started writing this as a funni little drabble of: omg i love Mai’s design so much!!!! and it turned into this. ah well.)
No, but, whats interesting is if you compare the anime’s Hope’s peak uniform, you should note how Mai’s uniform appears to include a black blazer that she wears tied around her waist.
Tumblr media
Why is this important you may ask?
In the anime, the talented students wore brown uniforms (blazers) while the reserve course students wore black blazers. In Min’s bonus episode, we see Mai is getting tutoring from Min, and I’m pretty sure she’s wearing a brown blazer?? Or she’s not and I’m misremembering, again, correct me if i’m wrong — I think it’s the lighting in that particular scene that’s making me think this).
Also, from Min’s episode, we can assume then that normal lessons take place within this new and improved Hope’s Peak’s Academy — or do they?
Of course Min would be taking lessons like any good student, that’s her talent, she’s got to nurture it. But why would Mai? Unless her “???” talent relates to academia, then it strikes as odd, as comparing to what we know of Hope’s Peak, Main Course students aren’t really strictly needed to attend normal lessons. So long as they hone their talents, they’re basically allowed to wander the campus and do whatever.
So unless the teacher figure Min speaks of acts in a similar way to Yukizome in forcing the class together to bond and experience their highschool (college?) years together, why is Mai doing regular school work? Why does she need tutoring, why bother keep up those grades at all? She doesn’t seem particularly on board or interested in studying, as Min shows, Mai is prone to distractions: she spends the bonus episode getting Min to talk about her origins (and why is that? That’s another thing I’ll touch on later when i remember to) and procrastinating from her studies (same, Mai).
But Mai could be a reserve course student trying to work for some sort of talent — and she’s lucky, because say, in their class, on most days, the Ultimate Student herself joins their ranks within their halls (because the main course doesn’t teach their students normal lessons, apparently in their buildings, so Min has to come down to them). And then Mai jumps to get to know her — or maybe that’s just something that happened over time, Mai just gradually drew Min closer, despite her being “average” in Min’s eyes.
Because there is something about Mai that has enthralled all (most? not sure where Teruko stands because all we know is Mai was searching for Teruko. Also Eden i’m unsure of, as it describes her calling a number — who’s number? why? i have so many questions on eden’s quote I can’t lie) of the cast into adoring her, and I’m guessing it’s nothing malicious — it’s just who Mai is. She’s clearly loved (if the quotes don’t convince you then the words in the mv pointing towards her should) dearly by the majority of the cast, and I think that’s just from her being her own self. She’s just one of those people who is just likeable. Someone who draws people in, who is approachable, who is someone who just had that sense of “you can rely on/trust them”
The “dearly loved” as opposed to Teruko’s “dearly unloved”.
And yes, Mai is an Ultimate technically as displayed by the “Ultimate ???”, but what if she wasn’t at the time of the bonus episode? What if she was a reverse course who then discovered or cultivated a talent (or, if similar to Hajime, was chosen for some sort of project? Was that what killed her? Is that the consequences she didn’t foresee in signing up to a program?). Maybe her talent was linked to how she connected to all the other Ultimates. Maybe the number of “???” translates to “God” as the same amount of characters as shown in a few quotes here and there (i think?? correct me if i’m wrong) in the mv. It would certainly explain their devotion they seem to have towards her.
Though, again, this is just speculation.
Another small note on the uniform: it’s simple. Almost shockingly so. It reminds me of Mukuro’s actually (in her first appearance — shirt and skirt alone) and how it almost suggests how plain she is, before you remember once again that she’s a part of something bigger — is something bigger (and in Mukuro’s case that’s Ult. Despair, but in Mai’s it could be the opposite).
And that’s something else — a wild left field guess i’ll touch lightly on here, but will eventually do something deeper on later — we all know about hope and despair and yadayada but I think, definitely, in some way shape or form, Mai represented Hope. She was the symbol of that class’ hope, if not bigger, yet she burned out far too fast and now her fate is uncertain. So either that hope flickered out too quickly (think side: despair Chiaki) and was killed in order to break the class and there was some great tragedy, or she was being built towards becoming that hope.
As in, she was a reserve course or something similar but started making changes around her, just by being herself, a natural charisma that charmed and delighted the people around her. She grew close to people and inspired them in turn. She was genuine, friendly and honest. People respected her for her authenticity; she was someone reliable, trustworthy, determined, kind. She was on her way into becoming an Ultimate — maybe she was granted it, and she was flourishing. Maybe she started to be pushed to hard, spread too thin — we don’t know yet. She was a little naive maybe, head in the clouds, forgetful (as shown in the bonus episodes from what I remember, again correct me if i’m wrong bc I haven’t rewatched in a few months), and so she didn’t think of any underlining threats — she didn’t think she was a threat to someone (the mastermind). She didn’t foresee the consequences to being such an open symbol of trust, a symbol of Hope, and she died for her lack of awareness. Or betrayal. Or however she died.
So i. terms of the “simple” design as I put it, it’s first used to throw you off. You don’t think much of her. She’s an unknown, sure, but because there’s nothing on her, you sort of dismiss her. When Mukuro’s face is revealed, there’s nothing really to suggest she’s a soldier, or a member of Despair. She is dressed in a shirt and skirt (highly impractical, thanks danganronpa), and you look at her and go “her? really?” and then you remember she’s potentially the mastermind or the one hidden somewhere in the school, watch out for her, and then immediately reevaluate her and her importance.
I think the same applies to Mai but in the opposite direction; Mai is — or was — the supposed symbol of Hope for this class, and at first she was nothing more than a mystery, but now we see her with the knowledge we’re slowly piecing together and we go “aha! it’s you! you’re the one they all love! (why is that?)” (i am also guilty of this i’m a mai akasaki truther i love her i too have been pulled into her charm). We sort of dismiss her at first and then we notice her, we see her, and we point fingers in delight because it’s her!! She’s important in some way for the plot!
We are already reevaluating her and how she fits into the storyline. What her fate is (or was), and how she links all the cast together. Maybe i’m wrong and she was a main class member. Maybe she wasn’t the symbol of hope. But this is just my evening rambles (and my procrastination in avoiding the tally5 thing bc goddamn i started to get really frustrated. so. i wrote this instead. you’re welcome??)
-
this was supposed to be a ramble about her pretty design.
sorry not sorry. oops.
I am fascinated by Mai. I don’t know if I’ve actually properly said that yet, and maybe it’s obvious (well, duh) but yeah!
if you read this far jesus christ thank you for sticking with me because I just started typing and now i have this: I was expecting this as much as you were, I wasn’t!
if you’re still reading,
here

all the weird time in go s2, e1-3
I am working off a 2k display, so if someone else has a 4k and wants to take a look at these timestamps to get a better reading, or has better photo editing skills, have at it. Almost all the time the "hour" hand is at the wrong spot, ie at 650 it should be nearly on the 7, not directly on the 6. I will say when it's correct. Timestamps means "this is where in the show it happens", also shown with "t[number]".
Rewrote some of this after reading this post about the clock hands being backward: what ought to be the hour hand is the minute hand on the big clock next to Az's desk, and I grabbed some time pictures I missed. I'm putting this in chronological order within each episode rather than show order. I did try to include both ways to read the clock, reversed and "not reversed". I think using the short hand as mintues most of the time makes sense.
I will edit this as more stuff comes to light, ie we get more shots of time stuff or realize things.
Jim showing up seems to mess with time, even before the hiding miracle--though idk if the hiding miracle can reach back through time to change things? Delete the memory of him being there? That would be consistent with how "deleting time" works, ie jumping it forward.
Episode 1
1. Crowley meeting Shax in the alley at timestamp 19:27 in s2e1: an hour discrepancy between his phone and his watch. Watch has normal/correct hour hand placement. The watch says it's 11:35am and the phone 10:35, aka six hours prior to the scene where Az meets Jim. Crowley hasn't learned anything about Gabriel or the book of life at the time we see this discrepancy except that "something is up", and in all later scenes the hour hand of the clocks is incorrectly placed/time is "fake". This missing hour is something different than the rest of them? Crowley either doesn't notice the missing time, or he already knows what it is. He has an analogue watch, presumably he knows how to read time, and would know when his hour hand is not behaving correctly/doing fake things.
Was Gabriel doing something on earth for an hour? That the hiding miracle deleted from everyone's memories? That wouldn't desync the clocks though, and should not affect our heroes who can still recognize him. I did try to look at Gabriel's eyes in the elevator in e6, they did look purple still, so I think he didn't remove his memory until after he got to earth--but that doesn't make sense with how Saraqael says she "can't find his memory anywhere", implying he already took it out in the elevator. I do not think they waited an hour for him to "clear out his desk". I tried to run the symbols on the angel security cam footage through Google translate, but no dice.
2. Az gets Maggie's note about the rent, we see a tiny clock behind Az at timestamp 8:18. One hand is just before 12, the other seems to be on the 4? We can see where the 9 and the 8 are, so it looks like the other hand should be on the 4, not the 3. It's easier to see if you watch this in the show, you can see the clock face appear and it looks more clear if you watch from about 8:16-19. This clock says either just before 4pm or it's 11:20am, because that looks like the short hand near the 12. I don't know if this clock should be read backwards like the big clock should. (Edit: this clock is the big one by his desk, we're seeing it through a gap in the bookshelves, it's not sitting in the bookshelf.)
Tumblr media
2.5. We can see Maggie's watch when he goes to forgive her rent, after getting her note. seems like it says 11:25-27, t1008. Crucially, this is supposedly less than 21min before Jim shows up.
Tumblr media
3. t1441, Jim knocks. When Az gets up to answer, we see this on the clock next to his desk, behind him, it's definitely 4:20 no matter what weirdness the hands are doing. It is now 5 hours later???
Tumblr media
4. Time seems to stand still while Az talks to Jim for the first time, as the clock never moves from 4:25 (520 not reversed), but the long hand ought to be further along if that's the real time. Time is not stopped as you can see people moving outside the window. t16:32-19:26,
Tumblr media
and picking up again timestamp 20:18 after he gets the box, it is 4:30 (620 not reversed),
Tumblr media
Crowley says he'll see Az in two minutes, and then Nina starts to close down because it's nearly 5:00 (7pm not reversed), which makes sense.
5. t26:51, meeting Jim with the feather duster. The hands are either both on the 5 or one's on the 4 and one on the 5. It was already 430pm, so surely it's not 425 again, it must be 525? Either it's been an hour when Crowley said "two minutes" or we've gone backward in time. As we see in the apology and miracle scene though, clocks get weird around jim, so we very well could have gone back in time. They have a fight and Crowley does his lightning, etc.
Tumblr media
6. stolen from the "hands on the clock are reversed" post, timestamp 38:47, time is 2102 aka 9:02. this is when crowley releases nina and maggie from being locked in the cafe.
Tumblr media
7. the apology scene. If we say Nina closes at 5pm(maybe 7?)....time is just fucky in this scene, idk man. Time seems to run fine, around 9pm, except when Jim shows up. Did he do something to himself before he went to earth? But if so, he would have screwed up time when first talking to Az too. When did he alter himself, though, if Saraqael couldn't find his memory? Did whatever or whoever was involved in the Big Miracle also reach back through time to change things?
If changing your identity means you never existed, maybe did Gabriel invent time, hence him removing his memory....removed him from reality, so now time is fucky? What would be the point of going through all this though just for that though???? Did the damn fly have miracle powers and perform a miracle at some point??? If so then why didn't it register as his memory when Saraqael was looking? If he could hide simply by being on earth, there would be no point to putting himself in the fly.
Episode 2
1. It appears to be 10:40am in the scene where Jim is singing, where Az gets the Clue right before the angels show up in e2 at timestamp 6:05. It seems that the hour hand is correct, between the 10 and 11? IF we don't read it backward, then the hands are not correctly positioned and it's 652am.
Tumblr media
However, the clock when the angels are in the shop appears to say something in the realm of 845 or 945? t1348
Tumblr media
But while we're talking to the angels, we see the clock again at a very different time, what appears to be 954am, t1422.
Tumblr media
But at t1516, it looks like a different time? Short hand on the 8, long on the 10, so 10:40 again (or 750am, not reversed).
Tumblr media
There does not seem to be a hand directly on either the 55 or the 9, they seem closer to the 8 and the 50. I don't know if there's even a hand anywhere but the 8/9 though.
2. The angels leave, Az and Crowley go to the pub, then go back to talk to Jim. Time stays at 4:29, t2058; (620 not reversed, but the hands would be in a really bad placement).
Tumblr media
After the Job flashback at t4016, the clock now says 630 regardless of weirdness.
Tumblr media
It looks like there are two short hands, no long one? Why?? Timestamp 4016. The double hands stay in every shot, pretty obviously, until we leave the scene. Crowley also leaves, and either it's only been ten minutes or it's been two hours and ten. If it's only been ten minutes, that's not something he usually does. Az goes to get Crowley to ask for the car, and his watch says....
Tumblr media
Definitely not 630. This is at timestamp 4324. No clue if his watch should be read backward, but in the first episode it was read normally and its hands were correctly positioned.
Episode 3
1. Timestamp 2:30, Muriel shows up. Clock seems to say 10:50, regardless of weirdness. I think this is directly after the previous scene of asking Crowley for the car. It should not be four hours later.
Tumblr media
2. Whlie Az is out Cluing, in the bookshop the time says 3:30 at timestamp 1638, and it appears that the long hand is in the correct position between the 3 and 4. It's 617 if we don't reverse it, and the hands would be in the wrong position.
Tumblr media
When Az uses the guy's phone in the graveyard at t3451, it says 1750 aka 550. Obviously something is wrong because it can't be way later in the bookshop than it is where Az is. There are not multiple timezones between London and Scotland. This is confirmed at t3511, where we see Crowley answer the phone in the shop, and the clock says 525. It's blurry here but at t3624 we see a moving shot of the clock behind Crowley's head, and it does say 525 clearly (regardless of weirdness). There's another shot of the graveyard phone at t3639 but I can't read the time off it.
Tumblr media
It cannot be 525 in the shop and 550 on a phone. That's half an hour of time missing. Notably here, Nina's shop is still open, so either her closing times are not consistent or there was a whole lot more time missing in ep1 to make it later than the clock said it was.

Note
sorry i dont have tumblr (i only use it to stalk cabby art LOL) and idk if youll answer this but i am known as the cabby yapper by my friends so i wanted to bring this up to someone who thinks about her as deeply as me
do you ever like think about how terrifying mephones plan for a season 4 would have been to cabby specifically? out of all of the final 3 she has been hurt by the game the most (with no closure mind you unlike balloon), i think having to go through everything again would genuinely break her. even if shes less misunderstood the game still puts pressure onto her to be a facts machine, a strategist. when shes literally the kindest person ever, trying to comfort silver (despite his constant mistreatment of her), and sacrificing almost every post merge challenge for the sake of somebody else (i.e giving up her inani-mate for yinyang, sacrificing herself in episode 13 to put herself on the line with yinyang even if she was manipulating them out of obligation, AND EPISODE 15 SHE DEFINITELY WOULD HAVE WON IF SHE HAD USED HER FILES and completely foiling blueberrys plan, but she didnt because she cared about bot)
in the episode when shes reading the file, the screen actually starts shaking a little. implying she was absolutely horrified at what she was reading. and she had every single right, especially considering what shes gone through.
the other thing that’s absolutely insane to me is the fact that this information was conveyed to her via a file. aka her disability aid, something she relies on. that mustve been horrifying to see something so person to her used against her in such a way.
sorry i regurgitated a lot of this info from the shut i put on tiktok. im just genuinely crazy about cabby
ALSO UR A CABTUBE TRUTHER IM LITERALLY SO IN LOVE WITH CABTUBE i am lesbian cabbys number one truther and see her shipped with men far too much. but like i was so hoping test tube would at least apologize or something. it irritates me how they can make one sided silvercandle canon but they cant show us anymore one-sided cabtube. just make her blush or something. but tbh it made me emo when test tube (and pb bc they nodded) oraised cabby, it made me genuinely crazy.
also unshout out to everyone bullying cabby this episode genuinely why were half of them so mean please let silver Die slowly and painfully. also if lifering (i hc him and cabby as father and daughter, like u cannot convince me lifering and floory arent her dads) switched up on cabby i will personally take his soul like the grim reaper he will be seeing these hands.
sorry feel free to ignore this!
-🍭
😭 I was for real thinking about that earlier today like hasn’t she been through enough… Yes Cabby is a very competitive person but after everything that happened to her in this season and the fact that she’s Still in a vulnerable place right now I don’t think she would find it particularly enjoyable to not receive a prize and then immediately be thrust into a new season of competition— and as a team leader, no less.
Test Tube thanking her for apologising was,,, weird to me. I literally rolled my eyes. It gave me the impression that she (and Paintbrush) think Cabby *should* be apologising to everyone for making some of them uncomfortable? And I just don’t agree. As polite as it is, I think it’s way overstating her actions. Like… why is it “right” to apologise to the entire jury for her past behaviour making “some of them uncomfortable” pre episode 7 when she had never even worked with half of them when said behaviour was supposedly occurring? It’s so frustrating to me, like… how much smaller does she have to make herself for them to be satisfied? I don’t get it.
And of course, “making them uncomfortable” thing again comes back to her files. It’s basically impossible for her not to internalise the idea that keeping information is bad because she Might get things wrong (which. Is another thing. As far as we’ve seen, her writing is almost always correct, barring Bot which is an obvious outlier, and erroneously attributing Suitcase turning on her alliance in season 2 to Balloon’s manipulation.) In episode 15 too, aka the worst Test Tube episode to me, she says Cabby thinks everyone is just “what she happened to write down” as if Cabby is careless and doesn’t do her due diligence when writing her files. Which to me directly contradicts her calling Cabby’s Fan file “impeccable” and having “so many notes” back in episode 2?
And as for Test Tube’s assertion that Cabby would turn on her the moment she stopped being useful, and that she treated everyone like chess pieces on her little board, it really felt like her jumping to conclusions because of what happened with Fan. Because she has done that to no other member of the Pinkers. And there is way less manipulation on Cabby’s part in the show than Test Tube’s irritation would have it seem.
I’m not sure if the writers intentions were to make Cabby as manipulative as Silver from the beginning, but if it was and that’s why this is all going on, well. Mission status isn’t exactly a success to me— the only manipulation she does is in episode 2, when she tries to get Bot to vote out Fan (and presumably the rest of the team as well), and episode 7, where she makes a big show of approaching Silver about how it would be better for him to stack the ice cream because, knowing him to be lazy and careless, it would increase the odds of him screwing up the challenge and make it easier to vote him out.
I’m at least relieved that Test Tube seems to have been thinking about things whenever Cabby says something self-effacing or seems to be nice, because it gives me hope that she may finally realise she’s been taking it too far and maybe Cabby will get an apology, but the fact that she’s been just sitting on it for like 3 episodes by now is killing me,

Greetings from the rabbit hole "Kiseki: Dear to me" made me jump into. 👋🏻
Well.. What should I say? I'm still down here and I refuse to ever come out again. Quite comfortable down here. 😅
First of all: The trailer didn't promise too much. I'm high over heels for the series and this is definitely an understatement. Two amazing episodes to start with - without a doubt.
Still we have to discuss two things I just can't get over.
Number one is definitely this scene from episode two.
Tumblr media
I mean.. Did that really happen? My little blond bunny [rabbit hole, the carrot he picked out with the chopsticks - you get the point 😅] really tortures his man with spicy food? Please! How amazing is this? I couldn't help but laugh. I mean how did he come up with this idea in the first place? Hilarious. He definitely needs to write a "How to torture the right way" guide right now. 😅
Now let us talk about my number two from episode one.
Tumblr media
For real. You see what I see right? Please tell me I'm not the only freak around here who probably thinks way to deep about some things.
Just in case you don't see it yet - let me help. Looking at picture one and two we see the earlier bunny with black hair [by the way: Who do I have to thank for his now blond hair? So beautiful! 🫰🏻] and his just arrived man to pick him up. Bunny wears no choker, no necklace at all while Chen Yi wears two. So far so good. Now look at the last picture. Chen Yi, blond bunny. Besides his choker what else is he wearing? Correct! A really noticeable silver necklace. Haven't we seen that one before? Like in picture two for example? 🤔
Call me crazy but for me it's the same necklace Chan Yi wore when he picked him up back then. And right here my mind goes crazy. I mean the choker and the necklace? What's that? The Chan Yi way to show everyone who owns the bunny? 😳
Don't get me wrong though. I kinda love my own crazy thought that this is indeed what both choker and necklace mean. But maybe I just overthink it? I don't know and honestly I don't care cause down here in the rabbit hole everything is possible, every thought is welcome. 😏
With that being said - I'm really curious about your thoughts for episode one and two. Any likes or dislikes? Favorite scenes? Scenes that also deserve a little shout-out or a deeper thought? Feel free to share it all. I gladly invite you all to join me in the rabbit hole. Drinks and carrots on me! 😏😅

Initial Thoughts on The Lando GQ Article
Perhaps I am struggling a bit with insomnia but on the plus side, it gives me a chance to write out my first thoughts on Lando's GQ article (which, if you haven't read it, you can find it here)
First and foremost, I don't think for a second that some of the emphasis in this article is on accident. When I read articles in this lens, I operate under the assumption that there is a means to an end for everything.
And we start with the little article summary (I cannot think of what it's actually called) -- "The nicest guy in Formula 1 and the breakout star of Drive to Survive has sped through the young ranks to lead a team a McLaren's new first driver."
This article hammers two things hard:
Lando is a really fucking nice guy
Lando hasn't been McLaren's first driver (until now).
And that starts in the first paragraph with an anecdote about the writer's car breaking down and how Lando is sympathetic.
And then it immediately flips to the second thing the article is hammering with, "... A fact that will see him take on the role of McLaren's lead driver at the start of the 2023 season in March. It's a significant milestone for Norris, who, over six years with McLaren, has served a comprehensive apprenticeship. "I was patient, but I always felt like I wanted to be ahead of where I was," he admits of his time being spent first as a bench warmer, then as a second driver to Carlos Sainz and Daniel Ricciardo.
I think we are seeing the beginning of McLaren's attempt to get their PR back on track from everything that happened with Daniel but saying that Lando somehow served as the second driver to Daniel is a bit laughable (and I tend to be a harsher critic of Daniel than most).
I also wonder if this piece is meant to mark a wanted shift of Lando's image from like "goofy boy next door" to something more adult because this writer says, "The first thing that strikes you Is just how handsome Norris is." And I think that declaration is so much more adult than just about anything written about Lando that I can recall.
(Also I just -- sometimes I read things about racing drivers and I'm like 'wow, that sounds very neurodivergent of you.' and I had that exact thought about the tidbit about Lando wearing sunglasses because bright lights give him headaches.)
ANYWAYS not the point.
The article mentions Lando's reputation for shyness but Zak Brown himself reveals that Lando has come out of his shell more recently, the article calling him a 'good leader in-waiting'. We're just hammering away the idea that Lando has been waiting in the wings to take this coveted leadership role.
The article flips back to the idea that the 2023 season is the first season that Lando will be McLaren's first driver. Talking about Drive to Survive and describing the fourth season as "...The 2021 World Championship, Daniel Ricciardo's first season as McLaren's first driver."
There it is again.
First driver.
It's so interesting because I cannot recall McLaren ever calling Daniel or Carlos their first driver. (Correct me if I'm wrong, though, like my title says these are my initial thoughts). The writer goes on to detail episode five and it uses the phrase "repeatedly outperforming Ricciardo..."
And that might be the truth but it doesn't feel like an accident that that wording is included.
BUT the author is quick to point out that "Ricciardo has also refuted rumours of bad blood, telling Channel 4 that he felt no tension with Norris."
The article now starts to pivot towards Lando and how he is 'just a normal guy' and how 'he navigates fame by being unapologetically himself'. Other descriptors are 'the kid your mum might ask to make sure things don't get out of hand at a sleepover.' and 'nice' and 'modest'. The one thing Zak Brown faults Lando over is the fact that he runs five minutes late.
The article details his career which I don't feel the need to rehash -- it doesn't tell us anything new.
But then we go back to the idea of Lando becoming McLaren's number one with a little caveat, "He may have signed a multi-year contract to race as McLaren's number one, but when it comes down to the wire, his position is dependent on his ability to win races." This sounds a whole lot like what was floated at/about Daniel by Zak Brown.
Then the article touches on Lando speaking on mental health (although nothing new is added by Lando which is a little bit disappointing but I digress). It goes into his hobbies and then continues onto how Lando wants to be a WDC (which is like the most cliched thing ever because if you're an F1 driver and don't want to win a WDC, what are you doing it for?)
It closes with "This might not be Norris' season. It might not even be next season." etc etc etc.
So circling back to the two things the article hammers hard, I have some thoughts about why.
Of all the things that could have been written, why were those the two things that were hammered home?
One of the most surprising things to me about my gain data is that Lando did not gain over a million new followers over the 2022 season. Especially considering the fact that in 2021, he gained ~2.3M new followers.
I think McLaren's lack of performance didn't help but I think there was a general dimming of enthusiasm about Lando in 2022. There were LandoGates (which conveniently were not even implied in the article) and everything that happened with Daniel just dimmed the enthusiasm around Lando Norris and that 100% affected his gains.
So I think this article is attempting to remind fans why we love(d) Lando. And it hit all of the highlights (that he's nice, relatable and he has spoken about mental health etc etc).
This also was a PR piece for McLaren. They are holding that Daniel was in fact the first driver this entire time and now! Now it's finally Lando's turn! Which means that obviously, the allegations that they've been developing the car for Lando specifically cannot be true because Lando has been the second driver this entire time! (It feels a bit like gaslighting and I'm not even trying to be glib here).
The fact that it is mentioned/alluded to multiple times in the article suggests that it probably wasn't an accident or a silly journalist writing it because he doesn't know any better.
I wonder if they are preemptively pushing back against whatever DTS storyline is going to be shown in just over a month's time.
So yeah, maybe I am just an insomniac who thought too hard but those were my initial thoughts about the article. If you read this far, thank you and I'm sorry but I'd love to know your thoughts on the article!

HFJONE Death of the Author analysis
Fresh off of a recent rewatch of ONE and i had a bit of a epiphany today about a theme that i don’t think i’ve seen anyone talk about yet. Post of course contains major spoilers for HFJONE season 2 so if you have not seen it yet, begone from this post until you have. NOW for starters i’d like the start this with bringing up what “death of the author” means so everyone is on the same page. Death of the author is a concept in literary criticism in which an author's intentions should hold no special weight in determining and interpretation of their writing. But this theory isn’t about the literal author Cheesy but instead Airy. In the last few episodes of ONE we learn ALOT about Airy when Liam confronts him in person. Its alot to take in for both us as viewers and for Liam, who has built up Airy in his head as some crazy evil villain who’s purposefully torturing the contestants for his personal enjoyment. Liam is constantly on guard and waiting for Airy to take a chance to “get him” and is very offput by that expectation not being met. In fact not only does Airy not want to hurt Liam, but the first thing Airy does, even after Liam is physically violent and screams at him, is go get reeds to make place for Liam to sleep that night. It is very evident that Airy lacks emotional empathy, but not all empathy. It’s certainly no secret that Airy is a heavily damage person mentally, long term isolation does so much damage to the mind and body and Airy also seemingly went through the same kind of song and dance as Bryce and Liam did when trying to get the correct numbers on the radio based on what he tells Liam about it even if it’s not shown. As much as Airy is in the wrong for what he does to the contestants on The Plane, his intentions weren’t malicious in nature,  and he himself is deeply traumatized and detached from the reality of his actions because of it. Liam doesn’t want to acknowledge that, it goes against everything driving him forward, but lucky for him he never has to.  Airy dying is his own thematic author’s death. We can probably assume that Airy was crossing over the waterfall to get more supplies to care for Liam, which would have challenged Liam’s mental image of Airy further. But instead Liam awakes to find him dead, and stares down at his remains with uncaring conviction, never having to acknowledge Airy’s intentions behind his creation and living on with his own interpretation as Airy are a cruel villain.

clowning 101 : how cpns work ( short version )
let’s do a little exercise to illustrate a point about cpns/sugars and how these things work. this is based on my personal experience in the fandom and what i find is the best way to handle them. first things first, not all cpns are there to prove a romantic relationship. tho that is implied, it’s often a proof of their connection and because of that why they work so well together as a pair.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now time for the exercise :
Now time for the exercise :
A CPN going around today is another incidence of same/similar shoes. WYB wore one for his Bottled Joy Ad and GG while filming his new drama. The brand is one of those streetwear ones — Starwalk Soldier. They have a store in Shanghai and if you look at their Weibo or Instagram — you’ll see that there are other c-ent celebrities who were photographed wearing shoes from the same brand. So it’s not as niche as the other wardrobe CPNs we have. We’re not sure when the Bottled Joy Ad was filmed, but their Weibo account posted WYB wore their brand 10/8. Then today, GG was photographed with the opposite design of that shoe ( yes I know, one should be all white to be the opposite but it’s another take on it. ) Now that we have the facts let’s go to the next step.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As a turtles, this can go in different ways:
1. You can dismiss it. Walk away. Oh. same/similar ones again? sure. Nothing new. They have the same style and look more and more alike each day. Bye.
2. Probably their stylist’s choice. It’s a coincidence that it’s from the same line and one choice b&w while the other all black.
3. This is true CPN. What are the chances that ZZ would wear it the day after the brand posts about WYB wearing it. Also people have already CPN’d another same/similar shoe recently so ZZ must be paying attention and decided to clown us. This may be another example of one of them buying a “pair” so they can have couple shoes.
4. Add number 3 + The imagery is appealing to them because of the Star. An image that is both special to them and the fandom. Also it looks like a shooting star, similar to the one in WYB’s racing suit which we CPN ( my god not even cpn, we have video that GG said he will design a suit for him ; but we still gotta label it properly ) GG designed. So maybe that’s why one of them picked it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
5. Nah. This not for me. Not everything is CPN.
All of the above ( and more if your reaction is a combination of the numbers ) are correct reactions. There is no right or wrong answer. The ones who believe it don’t need to convince the other. If you don’t buy it— you don’t need to force yourself or feel bad about it either. That’s the fun in CPN. This is why it’s such a popular part of fandom and the fact that we have so many for people to discover is an exciting activity too.
Next example is Sailor Moon. 🌙 since WYB is promoting it via Shu Uemura’s collection. This is not the first time we CPN’d a collectiom from SU, Web did one featuring One Piece before and that has a stronger CPN theme to it.
It’s an example of a CPN that is about similarities and connections. ZZ loved this cartoon when he was a child and said he would go home and watch it instead of do what other boys his age did. In today’s Let’s chat episode WYB also recognized it, which means he knows it. And well, he is Sailor Mercury after all —
Tumblr media
Also, ZZ’s “sailor moon” hairstyle from his XNINE Days.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You can go deeper and say that these two are not ashamed to say out loud that this show which is considered “girly” is something they like. They both were never really afraid to be associated with feminine things.
Lastly is WYB’s pose in today’s GQ photoshoot materials.
Tumblr media
You can CPN this as much as you want and add in some backstory but it’s CPN already with how the photos “match”. Sometimes, it’s as simple as that.
What I just find harmful is when people say it’s REAL and forget to label things. Or ones who say they “know” what’s going on based on their friends/sources who are close to the boys. Lol. No. “sources” are sisheng accounts who follow the boys and invade their privacy. Random posts on weibo too about hearsays and so on. Second/Third/Fourth hand information. None of these accounts are in ZZ/WYB’s inner circle.
The point is, CPN/Candies is a part of fandom that should be enjoyed. Don’t get stuck in frustration when things don’t affect you as much as the others. Worse, try and make so/os and non believers buy into it. Or think about what so/os would say about certain candies. It’s for turtles only. It’s made and written for us and not anyone else. 💛
-END.

Ok so one more post i wanna say to the rise fandom, and forgive me if i get something wrong I've only been here for 2 weeks.
1) Remain CAUTIOUSLY optimistic! Keep your expectations in check. Hope for the best but don't expect much, if something does come of this I'd imagine it might take longer than a week to hear any definitive news on the fate of the show, good or bad. I'd give it a month and that might still be a little early.
2) i know we all want the show on Netflix, damn I do paramount sucks, but there's probably some legal hoops they'd have to go through to make that happen if they even could. Paramount is now officially Nick's hosting service for their shows for streaming. Pretty sure the only reason Netflix got the exclusive rights for the movie was because at the time of development i don't think paramount plus even existed yet. Now that it does, and it's the only legal place to watch season 2 (in the US) if we get more seasons i think its more likely it'll be on Paramount.
3) if the show does get renewed expect at least about a year for it to return or to get trailers. I know we got boards out there but idk how far into development they got on those deleted episodes. I also don't know like who has like custody of those boards ya know? I imagine Nick but i also feel like the artist who worked on those boards have been releasing them i think? Either way the point is those episodes aren't finished. And the show has been on pause for like what, 2 years right? It would be pretty difficult to get everyone back. I garuntee a large number of the people involved have moved onto other projects and don't have the time to return to the show. Plus what was already developed might still need to be edited or cut due to the sudden change in dynamic at the end of the season 2 finale (mostly leo being dubbed the leader)
4) who is this man??? (/srs /lh)
Tumblr media
And why does it seem like we're taking his word as gospel on the fate of this show? Unless I'm getting people confused here, Everyone seemed to be talking about him talking about the show. So much so i assumed he was one of the creators, but i looked into it and he's not? Idk i kinda just glanced at his info but it seemed like the only involvement he had in Rise was creating a calendar (?) And i think creating the krangified challenge? I even asked my friend who got me into the show who was following it when it was airing and even they don't know who he is. Genuinely who is this person, just let me know if he's even a credible or reliable source. Cus unless it's coming right from the creators themselves im not convinced.
5) last thing. Please do not harrass people about the show! I've seen people try and pressure at least one youtube reviewer into reviewing it like he was the only thing standing in the way of season 3 like Nick was holding thw show at gun point til he reviewed it. (Not like that dramatic but also i don't think its going to make that much of a difference. Pretty sure these studios don't look at who's reviewing their show unless they're trying to copyright strike them) and please don't bug the people who were with or on the show. They probably can't tell you anything anyways cus ya know NDAs are a thing. Just please be civil 🙏 (but the Nick and Maybe Netflix and Paramount that's fine probably. It is always morally correct to bully corporations /hj)

Episodes 7 + 8 Thoughts
Spoilers for TBB Season 2
79's!!! 🍹
Haha, emotional damage *cries*
You know the drill, bullet point thoughts down below!
(Also, I'm writing this a few hours after I saw the episodes so I may be missing some stuff/this may be in a ridiculous order).
Love how the last time we saw that was during the Fives inhibitor chip arc. Love that! (Also, I miss Fives ☹️).
None of the Batch this ep but I still really enjoyed it!
Riyo and Bail!!! We love them both. 🥰
The shear amount of bullshit that came out of Rampart's mouth.😤
Tipoca City destroyed by a storm? What sort of excuse is that?!
Ah yes, this building (designed to withstand harsh weather) built on a storm-weathered planet was completely destroyed by a freaky weather phenomenon that just so happened to coincide with us wanting to get rid of the clones. 🤨
Coincidence? I THINK NOT!
Man, I love the clones so much. 😭
More clones with beards is something I appreciate. 🥰
SO MANY PEOPLE GOT SHOT IN EPISODE 7 WTF
Poor Slip. ☹️
The number of times I said "IS IT REX?!" to myself in the first episode. 🤣
Eventually I was correct!!!
PONCHO REX
I miss his armour so much, but the rebel outfit... damn.
Are Riyo's bodyguards voiced by Noshir Dalal or am I just hearing his voice in random places because Rampart is haunting me?
ALSO HOW ARE WE PRONOUCING RIYO?!
Did I just get that wrong this entire time or...?
The person shooting clones was another clone. The pain is real in these episodes. 😭
But dark purple is totally Rex's colour. 😏
GONKY! 🥳
Wholesome Echo and Omega moments making me cry again. 😭
Interesting that Omega has taken up meditation. 🤔 It might be playing into the idea of her being Force sensitive but she doesn't seem to connect to it on the same level as Gungi.
Echo doesn't like solitude because of Skako Minor. 😭😭😭
As soon as he brought up what the Batch did for him, I was like "oh, that's interesting considering Echo might be thinking of leaving. I wonder if they're going to play into that this episode. 🤔"
... I was not emotionally prepared.
Rex and Echo actually have more than 5 lines of dialogue with each other this season! 🥰
Echo pushing Omega back so she can't see the body. He's such a good mum. 😭
Wrecker's fear of heights OMG 😭🤣
"This is him doing better." I'm crying. 🤣
Rex saying that they need more people for the Rebellion and Echo considering it. 🥲
Also Echo volunteering to be Riyo Chuchi's witness?! He just wants to help people. I love him so much. 😭
PONCHO OMEGA.
I thought they were going to steal a wholeass Venator for a second.
Love Echo being so intouch with the Batch's plans now and Rex is just like WHAT IS HAPPENING
Tech being annoyed with himself for being 6m out.
Palps is back!!!
Hahahaha Rampart getting arrested makes me very happy. 🤣
BUT THAT PLAN BACKFIRED BADLY
R.I.P all the clones. 😭
...I cry just thinking about the end of this episode
I find it interesting how they have the Batch clustered very close together on one side of the shot and Rex and Riyo close on the other side. But Echo is kind of floating in the middle. Am I looking too much into the framing of this shot? Maybe. But I think it's interesting. 🤔
I thought Echo and Hunter might have talked about this on the nugget mission but Wrecker and Tech knew as well??? 😭
AND THEY'RE ALL SO SUPPORTIVE OF HIM 😭
THEY KNOW THAT HE NEEDS THIS 😭
I KNOW THAT HE NEEDS THIS 😭
I DON'T NEED THIS PAIN THOUGH 😭
Him crouching down and putting a hand on Omega's shoulder.
Him telling her to keep training (I'm convinced Echo taught her most of her combat).
He's so soft around her I can't do this 😭
OMEGA HUGGING HIM 😭😭😭
He looked so surprised but then he hugged her back and I'm literally dying inside
They way he steps forward a bit when be watches them leave
HIS FACE 😭
I remember seeing the trailer and thinking "I don't like the fact that he looks sad there"...
The last shot of Omega hugging Lula 🥲
I WAS NOT EMOTIONALLY PREPARED
So erm, yeah...
If you couldn't tell this episode completely destroyed me. I am lacking all coherent thoughts. No, I will not be okay.
How do I go on from this??? DO WE GET LESS ECHO???
I'm kinda hoping for an Echo and Rex centric episode, but I don't know if that's going to happen. Maybe, but I think we may just not see them until a Batch reunion later on or something.
I feel like I should have more to say but I am struggling to process emotions right now. Might watch episodes 6-8 again later but I need to work out if I am willing to cope with that. 🥲

OKay gotta distract myself from constantly refreshing my fic and staring at numbers, by continuing my spop rewatch
If you're new here: I'm rewatching all of She-Ra for fic writing purposes, and live-blogging it, with too many screenshots. None of this is spoiler-free. I make a lot of jokes and talk about my life and make references to other shit.
Also, I find Catra's villainy to be kinda hot (okay more than just kinda hot)
s4 ep1 the coronation
"April did you rewatch the Portal scene again"
Yes, because that's where I left it paused, mind your own business
OKAY so I remember this from the first time I watched it, like, four years ago--that of all the emotional stuff this show gets 100% correct, I'm not sure Glimmer's grief over her mother is all that accurately portrayed. She just seems to "get over it" too fast?
By which I mean: yes, it's the focus of this episode, but that's basically it.
When my dad died--and keep in mind I'd been no contact for six months, I'd already done most of my grieving for him!--I was so out of it I couldn't even read anything longer than a few paragraphs for multiple months. All my writing basically screeched to a halt. And Glimmer likes her mom!
BUT tbh I keep remembering someone pointing out that each season covers WAY more time than I originally assumed. Because the first time I watched this I assumed we were like, literally a week or two after the events at the end of s3. It's probably closer to several months. And that makes way more sense.
Also who else is confused as to what "princess" and "queen" even mean in this universe, like there are several princesses who are clearly in charge of their kingdoms? is just when their parents DIE that they become queens? if so wtf is wrong with Frosta's parents "lol you're eight now, time for you to be in charge of literally everything, and you'll never see us again"??
Tumblr media
okay but literally did they only ask Mermista to do the flowers as a joke bc I am literally sad for her now :(
Tumblr media
There she is!!! 😍
Also I read some (old) commentary from Nate about why her hair is flatter this season and nooooooo
Tumblr media
oh hey remember that you tied up Adora
okay do you remember this specific time you tied up Adora lolol
Tumblr media
"Don't talk about my ex-girlfriend!!! it's a very sensitive topic *sobs*"
Tumblr media
Glimmer's coronation robe is so great. I wonder if, like IRL ones, it's made out some insanely hard-to-get fur and weighs approximately five tons.
Tumblr media
The line delivery of "BOW! CALM DOWN!" made me laugh so hard I had to play it for other people and then watch it again.
Tumblr media
"Power changes people"
Not everyone is like you!!! >:(
(if anything, responsibility is more likely to change Glimmer)
Tumblr media
poor bb
Tumblr media
it's Entrapta's little naked mole rat robot!! which is also somehow also a squeaky toy??
Tumblr media
Scorpia wants SO BAD to find a way to see Catra as not a terrible person
Tumblr media
the robot didn't deserve that
Tumblr media
"Don't talk about my ex-girlfriend!!! it's a very sensitive topic *sobs*" (pt 2)
Tumblr media
Scorpia is such a cinnamon roll
Tumblr media
Adora literally only owns like three outfits. And this is her "nice dress."
Tumblr media
Bow's dad's!!
Also this is framed so much like a wedding, even the music is wedding-ish
Tumblr media
I'M NOT SAYING A DAMN THING ABOUT THIS
Tumblr media
A FRIEND
Tumblr media
okay maybe not
Tumblr media
I'm sticking with my theory that this is several months after the end of s3 which means she's been like this (unable to teleport) for a while
Tumblr media
Yeah, people have discussed this a great deal, re: grief: most people want to talk about the people they've lost, if you give them a safe time/place to do it. You don't have to avoid the subject.
Tumblr media
;_;
Tumblr media
I once again ask myself: where were you keeping the sword this whole time lolol
Tumblr media
NICE (Glimmer put the fancy lantern into the little niche for it)
Tumblr media
Aziraphale? Is that you?
Tumblr media
IT'S SO CUTE
Tumblr media
I wonder when Angella recorded this
Tumblr media
YEAH!
Tumblr media
where did you get the new outfit 2. isn't your other arm cold 3. she's fucking purring
Tumblr media
She says this the exact same way she says "Hey, Adora" and I went "EUGGGH" out loud
Tumblr media
Some people were like, "oh, her redemption arc in s5 was so rushed" and meanwhile I'm like, "I wish they'd made her deranged and mean a little longer, actually. For Reasons."
Anyway I've run out of images unless I reblog the post, SO: she yanks the little crystal thing Entrapta made out of Hordak's suit so he collapses and then taunts him with the knowledge that Horde Prime is not gonna be happy to find out he can't even subdue the Rebellion, basically puts herself in charge, end of episode
WOOOOO
