the angst in your zombie au bREAKS MY HEART INTO PIECES (I LOVE IT VERY MUCH)
okay, okay, so!! if the kagebros got separated from reigen and teru when mob is still fine, i imagine that their reunion would be hEARTWRENCHING also, i'm a bit curious, would mob still be able to recognize teru and reigen? or would he thought about them as strangers?
(tbh, following your lore, i imagine mob would act a similarly like nezuko from demon slayer? but instead of little hums, his zombie sounds would more like babbling and incoherent mumbles :"D)
the reunion is fuckin AWFUL man it's SO gut-wrenching. both reigen and teru feared this for Months while looking for the brothers; pretty much the worst case scenario was that mob or ritsu or Both turned—a lot of humans prefer death over being a zombie any day, so the idea of ritsu or mob having to go through that and wander around aimlessly until starvation or smth else gets them,,,
it hurts them so much to think about. teru forces himself not to dwell on it and he's pretty good at that but reigen thinks abt it a lot and he's honestly not sure what scenario is worse. best case is that they're both alive and unturned, obviously, but what's the worst case? you'd think it's both of them getting killed, or turning, but reigen also knows that if One of them got killed/turned, the other would probably lose their mind, especially if they had to watch. the fact that they're kids makes this all three times worse and reigen has to act like he's Not worrying himself sick over the brothers while he tries to keep teru in high spirits
the reunion itself is rly fuckin gut-wrenching for them. they see mob from afar, wandered off just a bit from ritsu and tome who are just around the bend looting a place, and they book it bc ofc they do, it's mob!! but then they see how pale he is, and when he turns around they don't see that light in his eyes that's usually there and the red is dulled and dead looking,, teru almost moves in for a hug before he realizes mob looks vastly different when he Rly takes him in, and mob doesn't rly react too much besides staring at them blankly. the obvious answer is almost too horrifying to even consider, so it takes them a minute to rly,,realize what's going on
tome comes around the bend and shouts, cuz when humans and zombies mix it's usually guns pointed at zombie heads. ritsu comes running out after her and when he sees reigen and teru his thoughts go, in order: holy shit is that reigen and tero ohmygod oh my god they're alive they're alive ohmy god i could fucking cry, and ohmy god they see shige ohno oh no oh no
ritsu sounds like a lunatic when he pulls mob away from them on instinct and says that he's safe to be around and that he's "still him" and he's "not gone" and he's very aware of that. he's very, intimately aware that he sounds fuckin crazy, bc ofc he does, this is what all the crazy people in zombie movies sound like. but he doesn't care, he doesn't care if reigen or teru dismiss him as nuts—he has to make them understand that his brother is still in there somewhere
and yeah, they both kinda think that ritsu's lost his marbles a little bit, but while teru is focused on that and the fact that mob doesn't look like he's rly tuned into Anything that's happening rn, reigen is a bit more focused on the fact that both ritsu and mob look awful? they're both very skinny and very dirty, obviously barely scraping by. they're cut up and ritsu's jacket is basically blood and dirt with a little bit of green fabric mixed in. and just by the look in ritsu's eyes, reigen can tell, man ... reigen can tell ritsu is like.not okay at this point he's kinda lost it.
i think the most painful thing about this whole reunion in general is that later that night, when reigen and teru r finally like ok we get it he's,, he's still mob. we believe you (they want to believe him... [they Do believe him, later, wholeheartedly]) and they settle down someplace safe, teru asks how long mob's been like this. and ritsu has to answer "since we got separated" and they both have that to stew over while everybody else sleeps
they realize that ritsu likely watched mob turn, watched the entire process, and that process takes a long time. it's at least a week of deteriorating motor functions and cognitive skill, and the fact that ritsu stayed for that to keep mob company is .ough. and it doesn't end there bc ritsu obviously stayed after that too
given how these things usually go, ritsu probably did think about killing mob. it probably did cross his mind, bc that's basically what everybody's been told to do. kill them before they have a chance to do any more damage. and it's obvious that ritsu did not have it in him
ritsu not only did not have it in him to kill him, he didn't even have it in him to leave him there. the kid fucking took him with him. a zombie. and he's somehow made it work, for months. and the next few days are filled with watching him still treat mob like a brother and take care of him and gently steer him away from a bird he tries to follow down the wrong street.ritsu is as gentle and kind as he's ever been with his brother. and even tho they're both hungry and tired and barely making it, ritsu is doing a rly good job taking care of mob with what he's been given
the kid obviously wholeheartedly believes in a cure and that mob is still There. he's gone through the trouble to take care of him, and the grief of continuously seeing a loved one that many would consider effectively dead, to get him that cure. to get him his brother back. and mob doesn't seem to be in any pain or distress, so reigen and teru think that this path ritsu has followed is probably infinitely kinder than the mercy kill method they've been taught to do
i think they have a new respect for ritsu, after that reunion
#qktalks#anon#zombie au#and also yes!! mob Would indeed recognize them and not attack them#i've never seen demon slayer but im assuming ur talking abt the main character's ??little sister?? smth like that#but yes i adore the idea of mob saying rly weird incoherent sentences that Almost sound like real words but like slightly to the left#bein a zombie rewires ur brain completely man .his mind is struggling a lot to say what it wants to say#it takes mob a moment to rly catch onto who's in front of him during the reunion but when he does realize there Is recognition in his eyes#fun fact; if u hug zombie mob muscle memory kicks in and he hugs back!#reigen and teru don't find this out until a few days later. they're a bit.. scared of him snapping at them for a while#but once they see that mob never once snaps at ritsu Or tome they're a little more willing to get near him and touch him#teru finally hugs mob and mob hugs back and it makes teru cry VGEAYEAV#(ritsu has hugged zombie mob enough to where now mob leans into his hugs.just giving u smth to sob over)#still related to the reunion but focusing more on ritsu:#after they reunite reigen notices that ritsu has a lot more..authority in his tone. he's a lot more comfortable taking charge#but he also notices that ritsu looks Exhausted and for a while he has trouble relinquishing the lead role to reigen aka the only adult#and it's entirely bc ritsu is just so used to doing things on his own now that he Forgets he has people to lean on#so it takes a bit for him to remember he has an adult to take care of him now#bro definitely overworks himself a lot in his haste to take care of mob :(#ritsu eventually lets himself lean on reigen when he's tired#poor kid melts into that kind of care after so long of not having that and being the sole provider for him and mob#when tome came around it got easier. but that also meant it was another mouth to feed so.only a little bit easier </3

"I am a Slayer, after all..." You say to Neo, and you feel the something that stirs with in you settle in such a way that you wonder if this is what she's always wanted.
"Are you sure? Once I begin the ritual, I can't undo it." You nod, and Neo sighs, grabbing the spare cigarette behind his ear and lighting it.
The end burns red and he breathes a long pull out.
"Alright, let's begin." He opens his spell book and starts.
Tumblr media
You lay in the center of the summoning circle Neo has drawn in white chalk on his concrete floor. It's cold, dirt and grit touch you wherever your skin makes contact with the floor. Your head sits uncomfortably on the hardness of it, and you wish Neo would hurry up.
He's currently annoiting sigils he's drawn, then coming to you and sprinkling herbs and oils around you. You look up at him with wonder and urgency.
"How long is this going to take, Neo?" You whisper, already an hour into this mess and impatient.
"I'm seperating your soul connection to Helen, it's not a simple spell." He says with an eye roll.
You sigh and try to get comfortable, then Neo advises you to stop moving because you're rubbing around the chalk. You just hope this fixes things.
"Alright, were ready to begin." Neo says after another half hour, lighting the last candle that surrounds you.
"What do I need to do?" You ask, unsure of how much work you'll be doing.
"I need you to focus on staying yourself. Which parts of you are truly you, and which parts of Helen you're seperating from." Neo speaks as he looks over a small tome, from which he grabbed the spell from.
"Okay, but how do I know that?" You aren't trying to make this harder, but you also have lived your life as you are for so long. You have no idea how much of you is Helen manifested and how much is truly you.
"You'll have to look inward for that, I'm sorry I don't know an exact answer." He says, and you believe he is truly sorry you're in such a situation. He leans down and takes your hand tenderly.
"You're going to make it through this, one way or another." You nod at his words and you don't know why, but your eyes prickle, tears threatening to fall.
You can't imagine how it will feel to loose such a big part of yourself, it scares you to think who you might be after.
You nod once more, to let Neo know it's time to start, and he gives your hand one final squeeze. You really wish Constantine were here, but you know he wouldn't want you to do something so dangerous. Neo already told you the things that could go wrong if the spell isn't done correctly, and you know if Constantine knew you were planning on doing something that could make you a shell of yourself, he wouldn't allow it.
No, you have to do this alone. You're glad Neo is there to guide you as much as he can, and you suddenly realize how good it is to have such a friend.
He begins to speak, his words in a foreign tongue, and your eyes close. You can feel the energy begin to pulse, and any inklings of doubt you had about Neo being able to perform such a spell vanish. You know, this is it.
Neo takes a lock of your hair he cut earlier, and burns it, dropping it in a bowl filled with other herbs. It burns and the room begins to stink, but you can feel the power growing. You feel a weigh in your chest, and it builds, as if trying to escape your ribcage. You grit your teeth, and try to stay focused on becoming just yourself again. You still have no idea who that is, but you start to think of Constantine once more and the entity inside you pulls again.
You think about all the times you've tried to make something happen between you too, but no matter what something was stopping you. And you realize that Helen never stopped loving John, there was no way you were ever going to love someone else when she was inside you. You think of all the ways Constantine makes you feel, and you realize that those feelings of love for him, are your true feelings, the kind only you can make.
You think of when you two first met, and how nervous you were around him, but still giggling like a school girl despite yourself. You think of all the times you've leaned into him, and how the something that stops you was never happy about it. Constantine and you have always been an almost, a could be, a wish that hadn't come true yet.
You focus on that feeling of love you have for that grumpy asshole, and Neo's voice rises. He burns the photograph of Helen and you feel the power in your chest reel, lurching and trying to be set free. This is what she wants too.
You feel yourself spiralling downward, away from it, the connection between you and Helen growing thinner and thinner as you think more about the life you've lived, and all the friends you've made along the way. There's no way that any of that wasn't your true self. That nights spent with Ted on the couch, laughing until the sun comes up, was always you. That the teasing between you and Neo, so easy and light, was always you. That want between you and Constantine. Even now, it's you who desperately wants him here, holding your hand through this. It's what YOU truly want. No one else. Just you.
And as you dig deeper into that, you feel the pain of losing a part of your soul. You try not to cry out, but the muffled yell escapes your trembling lips. You feel as if a part of your heart is dying, getting ripped out and taken from you. But you know, deep down, Helen wouldn't want you to be with John anyways. He's lost his love, kindness, tenderness from being bitter over her death for all these years.
No, you must separate, you must set Helen's soul free.
"End the cycle..." you hear it. Her voice whispering in your head.
And your jaw sets, teeth biting into teeth, and you take the pain, your screams gutteral and whining, body beginning to writhe as Neo continues the spell, knowing he cannot stop in the middle of it.
You feel your soul being torn apart and all you can think about are the people you love, the people you stay on this earth for, and somehow, you make it through.
Sweat clings to your face and body, and as you open your eyes you see yourself, transparent and floating above you. But you know it's not really you. You watch and Helen seems more peaceful than ever, her soul fading into the abyss. The magic dwindles down and finally after Neo says the final closing words to the ritual, and it's over.
You lay there, exhausted, and Neo comes to your side, and you barely hear what he's saying to you. You feel more hollow, less full and terrified. You have a numbness in your chest, but you also feel as if you can finally breathe after not being able to on your own for so long.
"You did great, I didn't know what would happen, but you made it!" Neo speaks kind words to you, slowly helping you sit up and rubbing your back as you do.
Your stomach clenches as you finally sit. The world seems so different now that you're looking through your fresh pair of eyes, and you stay there, still as Neo dabs your sweaty face kindly with a cloth.
"This should be enough to get him to stop hunting you, now that he can't find Helen's soul within you..." You nod as Neo talks and finally stand up after a while.
Neo takes you out of the summoning circle, letting you lean into him when you need. You sit on the edge of his bed and he leaves for a moment, returning with a small glass of water.
"Here," he says, and you don't realize how dry your mouth is until you take your first sip, happy to be in Neo's care.
"What if he keeps coming..." You whisper out finally.
"Then we kill him." Neo looks at you, and you can see in his eyes that it's true, he really does believe you can defeat this one way or another.
The someone knocks on the door to Neo's apartment, bangs really, and Neo leaves your side to open it.
It's Constantine, he's sweaty and looks worried. He rushes to your side, taking your hand and holding it in his.
"I felt," he speaks, his mouth open to search for the right thing to say. "I knew something was wrong..."
His Slayer abilities are more honed than yours but you wonder if the connection between you two goes deeper than that.
"How...?" You say, but Constantine puts his forehead to yours, and you close your eyes, feeling something between you two.
It feels as if the block between you and him has faded into nothing but scarred tissue. The connection is starting to truly flow for the first time, and it buzzes through your body.
"It's like..." Constantine whispers out. "A sudden weight was lifted, and I could finally feel you..."
You wonder if Helen's soul had been blocking this connection between you two, but you don't know if you'll ever know. All you do know is that he's here for you, and that's what you've always wanted.
Constantine moves and wraps his arms around you tightly, his hug warm and deep.
"Don't you dare scare me like that again." He whispers into your neck, and you nod, tears welling up.
"It's over now, I think..." You whisper back, and Constantine holds you as if he is afraid of letting you go.
"I'll make sure it is..." Constantine mumbles, the anger in his voice clear. For a second you're not sure if you heard him right or not.
You don't want Constantine hunting the vampire down if John is truly no longer interested in you. You don't feel like arguing now though, you're way too tired for all of that. Instead, you let Constantine and Neo take you home, both helping to carry you back.
˚₊‧꒰ა ☆ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚
It's been a few days, but Constantine hasn't left your side. He doesn't say much, as usual, but with the newfound connection between you two, he doesn't need to.
You begin to feel a bit better, the time after the soul seperation made you so weak. It was truly as if you recovering from some illness or injury. You suppose you were though, having soul surgery was no little task, as Neo later said.
Neo as well was there to support you, not always, but he often went out and got the things you and Constantine needed. He would stop and assess how you were doing as well, looking over your aura and making sure you were healing properly.
Ted has been out the whole time, and as the days go on you wonder where he's at. It wasn't uncommon for him to spend a few days a month just at Bill's place, but usually you would have seen him by now...
Tonight, you and Constantine sit on the couch, enjoying one of your favorite movies while he reminds you to drink more water every 15 minutes. You humor him, and let Nurse Constantine prescribe anything he deems necessary. Through your connection, you can feel how worried he is, so you don't want to add to it at all.
You haven't had any nightmares since the soul severance as well. In fact, you've had no dreams at all, and that's just fine with you. You wouldn't care if you ever dreamed again if it meant all that was over.
You gaze out the window by your couch, the full moon casting her loving gaze on the city. You feel the wind stir outside and you wonder what's next for you. You consider how much more slaying you really want to do, but you also know the need is in your blood. It's what you're made for, trained for. You aren't sure if you could ever give it up, but you also love how domestic and calm things have been the past few days. You glance to Constantine and see him for once, almost relaxed next to you, his arm gently and warmly around your shoulder.
Neo knocks at the door, and you can tell because Constantine has been training you to recognize energies better. You get ready to lift yourself from the couch to get the door, but Constantine is already getting it, not wanting you to lift a finger until you're better.
"I'm fine! Really!" You call out to him, and he shakes his head.
"Neo said it takes at least a week until you're fully better, it's only been three days." He grumbles back to you and opens the door.
What neither of you sensed or expected was what was behind that door.
Neo was there, yes, but behind him, claws dug into Neo's throat, was the vampire. Constantine immediately growls and wants to charge him, but it's clear that John will rip out Neo's throat if he does.
"Drop him!" Constantine barks, and you feel as if this is a dream.
"No, you're not supposed to..." You whisper out, slowly rising from the couch, still in some pain.
"Did you really think I wouldn't come back for a taste of that sweet blood of yours?" The vampire hisses at you, ignoring Constantine completely.
"You really shouldn't have done that, my sweet." John cackles. "Now that you've severed yourself from my past love, there's nothing stopping me from draining you dry."
Your body chills at his words, but you have to do something or else he may just kill the people closest to you. You step forward once more and you watch as John holds out his free hand to you, beckoning you to come to him.
"No! I'm not letting you go with him!" Constantine growls out and holds up a protective arm in front of you, trying to stop you from going.
"I'm not going to let him hurt my friends." You say this and know how true this statement is in your soul. You would rather sacrifice yourself than allow Neo or Constantine die trying to save you.
"That's right, my pretty little slayer...I will let your friends go in exchange for you." The vampire confirms with a sickening grin, fangs showing.
As you get closer, the vampire slowly lessens his grip on Neo. John gets more distracted by you coming near, obviously hungry and anger clouding his mind. You can feel Constantine planning something, and you want to call out to him to stop, but before you can, he has rushed the vampire just as you come to meet John's hand.
John's claw grazes Neo's throat, blood slipping from the shallow wound, but he also looses his grip on him. Neo scrambles away, into the apartment, and Constantine rolls on the ground with the vampire in the hallway. You immediately search for anything to help, and spot Constantine's slayer gear near the door.
You grab two stakes and run into the hallway, watching as the vampire begins to over power Constantine. You're screaming and you don't even know for what, but you run, stakes in hand, ready to kill. Just as you're about the strike, John turns, seeing you and using his arm to throw you back, against the wall. You hit it, your head bouncing off with a thud, and your visual blackens.
You see the fuzzy images of the vampire on top of Constantine, his claw coming down in a long gash against his chest. Neo is in the doorway, holding his neck and fumbling with something to try to help, but he was never made to be killing creatures like this. You see the fear in your friends eye, and hear the screams of your love as the vampire descends into the killing blow.
You struggle to attempt to get up, your head pounding, body still weak and recovering, when you hear it. A pounding down the hall. The sound of some great beasts coming your direction. You stare up in shock and awe as two furry creatures jump over you, straight for the vampire. You watch as what looks like giant wolves grip the vampire's arms in their teeth, dragging him off of Constantine. They snarl and growl, and you find yourself on your feet again, gripping the stake you could hold onto and walking towards the vampire.
All that rage, all that fury, it builds inside of you. You feel it moving off you in hot waves, especially as you see Constantine, halfway torn, and you don't know when you start screaming, but you do.
You move faster, the pain moved aside for anger and adrenaline. You watch as the wolves are practically playing tug of war with the vampire, but you know even ripped to shreds that's not how you kill him. The wolves seem to sense your plan and hold the writhing, spitting creature as you do what you should have done that first night.
You watch as the vampire looks you dead in your eyes, that redness showing only evil and hatred, and you raise the stake.
"I'm not letting you get another chance to kill my friends." You say plainly, and the vampire laughs, which only pisses you off more.
You don't wait for him to say some stupid line, his mouth opening to attempt something along those lines. No, you've heard enough.
You drive the stake down, through his heart, and he screams out, shaking and sputtering. The wolves drop his arms from their mouths and the vampire bursts into flames, thrashing until he's burned out into a pile of ash.
You stand there, the carnage before you, the mess of your apartment hall, and you feel your knees weaken. You know you're not done yet, you turn to Constantine, and see Neo is already at his side, dripping some sort of liquid from a vial into his wounds, and speaking a spell.
You rush to his side, falling next to him and holding his hand.
"I'm so sorry..." Is all you can say, tears streaming down your face.
You watch as Constantine tries to keep breathing, in and out, the pain obviously immense. His wounds begin to glow as Neo continues and you lean forward, kissing Constantine's forehead and murmuring words of encouragement to get through this. You can sense how much it helps, and you continue.
"I'm not going to let you die on me now, not after everything." You say to him, your hand gripping his, your tears falling on his face where yours is so close.
"You wish, Princess." He finally sputters out, and with that signature sarcasm of his, you know he'll be alright.
The spell finishes, and Constantine's wounds are closed, blood and rips in his shirt still evident.
"He'll live, but it looks like both of you will need to take it easy for a while." Neo says, and you see he's also healed his own neck where he was knicked.
You reach over Constantine's body and pull Neo into a deep hug.
"Where would we be with out you..." You give him a long squeeze and he laughs.
"Dead. Probably." He says with a wheeze from how hard you've hugged him. You let him go, and smile, happy that you have the type of support you do here.
Just as you're starting to help Constantine sit up, carefully, you see two people walking up to your little scene.
"That was like, so totally awesome, dude!" You hear that familiar voice and look up in surprise.
It's Ted! And he's stark naked next to an equally as naked Bill, neither really finding it important to cover up.
"What! You didn't tell me..." You start, confusion and awe sweeping away your words.
"That we were like, kinda cool and rad werewolves?" Bill answers with a chuckle and Ted high fives him.
"Yeah, we didn't think you needed more supe's in your roster, babe!" Ted replies with his signature goofy grin.
They both lean down and help you and Neo carefully move Constantine inside, setting him carefully on the couch. You all manage, despite a few groans and coughs from Constantine along the way.
You stay by his side while Bill and Ted leave to get dressed, and Neo says he's running to the bathroom to clean the blood from his neck. You look down at Constantine who looks up at you through tired eyes.
"Guess it's you who needed the saving this time," you say, teasing him just a little despite the small tears that still fall gently down your cheeks.
"Guess I did..." He says and his arm reaches up, softly cradling the back of your head and pulling you in.
Your breath is stolen as he kisses you for the first time, tasting of blood and sweat. You don't even care, you kiss him back, hard. You've been waiting for this for so long now, and you're not going to let it go. You move your lips against his with so much want, and he returns the feeling fully, the connection between you two pulsing with love. You know now that you two can make it through anything, and you have never felt more capable, in love, or safe by those around you.
You know that despite everything, you truly are a slayer, and with those you love by your side, you need not worry about the future.

Un-horny BG2 mods
Ok, so I often hear that BG2 mods are very horny--not denying that, but here are some horny-free BG2 mods that I enjoy. I'm only including Quest and NPC mods here. I'm also only including mods that I have entirely played through myself.
The White Queen, by Lava: a quest mod that allows player to visit brand new place - Silent Swamps - where something happened some time ago. Curious? Let yourself discover what lies under the layers of the mud, meet the White Queen and her servants. Also, the music is bangin'
I Shall Never Forget, by Lava: This Baldur's Gate 2 mod allows you to work with Orion - a mage who has lost the sense of his life. Either help him regain what he lost or let him die without the faintest ray of hope.
Southern Edge, by Lava: Southern Edge is a new district for Athkatla available from the very start, once you talk to Gaelan and hear his offer. You can get a Book of Intelligence as a reward for one of the quests, and there's a scribe who will buy your unneeded quest documents (like The Tome of Amaunator, the Noontime Ritual, the Book of Kaza, etc. It's a nice lore-friendly way to get rid of some items)
Ooze's Lounge, by Lava: The mod introduces a brand new part of Athkatlan sewers. You may now use the originally inactive grate in Slums to enter a locked part of the sewers and discover its dark corners. The mod offers three new areas as well as a couple of mini-quests, new items and graphics.
Yoshimo Romance, by Lava: Mod includes 16 timered talks with Yoshimo (pre-Brynnlaw) plus those fired by circumstances - including talk in Brynnlaw and at entrance of Spellhold. Those who love reading may also install additional portion of text - dialogues for both male and female players fired by in-game events. There's no horniness here; the most you can do is kiss his cheek once, IIRC
Everything else, by Lava: seriously, all of his mods are great, and none of the ones on his site are horny
Trials of the Luremaster, by Argent77: This mod makes the Icewind Dale expansion "Trials of the Luremaster" available to BG2:EE (v2.0 or later), Siege of Dragonspear and EET (Enhanced Edition Trilogy).
✨Adrian✨, by Rhealla: Adrian has lived an interesting life, for lack of a better term, though he's hoping to finally put his past behind him. Aside from his magic, he has a background in espionage and a decadent -- some might say romantic -- streak that has gotten him into trouble in the past. He once pursued (and ultimately wrecked) a political career with one of the most notorious organizations in the Realms, and may very much enjoy the opportunities for intrigue the Shadow Thieves have to offer... if you can drag him away from fighting with the Harper and the Red Wizard long enough to notice, that is. Don't let his alignment scare you off. He's the least evil Evil character in the game, and his alignment can seamlessly shift to LN. He does fine in my good-aligned playthroughs. His romance isn't particularly horny--he offers once, but you can turn him down just fine (and there are multiple ways to tell him no). He's by far my favorite romance and favorite NPC in the game; I am not normal about him at all; and I could probably write an entire essay about his character arc. Please do try him out
Sir Ajantis by jastey: With this modification Ajantis can be acquired as a member of the PC's group after the fight in the Windspear Hills (which was not changed by the mod principally). The player must first solve a quest to free Ajantis from Firkraag's ransom. You have the option to continue his romance from BG1 or start a new romance with him--I've done the new romance route, and I didn't notice any horniness.

the last time reigen let dimple possess him, it was, well, — it felt fucking great, despite everything. standing in the eye of the storm, indestructible, fast, strong, agile, powerful, together; having entrusted him with reigen's useless old little body and gotten a 200% return on the investment! so what if he wanted to feel something at least a little bit like that again, if he missed the crowdedness under his skin? so what if he's been feeling kind of lonely lately, especially when off work, what with mob being busy, and himself not being all too close to tome-chan yet, and not letting himself get all too close to serizawa? so maybe reigen starts letting dimple possess him from time to time, just, casually. most of the time the possessions aren't even justified, but it's not weird if they don't talk about it. dimple enjoys being able to breathe, and says exactly that; reigen enjoys being together, and says nothing of it.
reigen never admits any of his reasons, obviously; neither does dimple admit that he deeply appreciates what reigen does for him. it's just a weird little thing that happens between them, largely unacknowledged, mentioned either not at all or through crude lighthearted jokes, with emotions welling in the whitespace between words.
over time, reigen gets his head out of his ass, and him and serizawa become good friends, best friends, boyfriends, even, and later move in together. the thing with dimple continues to happen because there's no real reason for it to stop, and frankly it's not like they ever discuss that; it just carries on. katsuya's been noticing for quite a while that Something has been happening, but he never felt like it's his place to ask, especially when it seemed so silent — nearly non-existent, despite being very real. well, whatever arataka chooses to do with his free time, right?
***
one night katsuya stays out drinking with his school friends a little later than he was expecting, and comes home a little drunker than he was going to. he finds arataka in the kitchen, chopping some vegetables, main lights off and over-the-counter lights dim and amber around his frame; he's so, so pretty, and katsuya hugs him from the back, reaching to try and place a kiss. arataka turns around, his face flashing a wide grin and very bright red cheeks. "oh hi," dimple says. katsuya backs off clumsily, and stammers, "ah, i'm so sorry! i was expecting arataka to be here, but it's you, ah-h-h, this is awkward, again i'm so sorry!"
"no big deal," dimple waves off, and turns back to chopping. "fyi, usually when i'm here, it doesn't mean reigen's not — i don't displace him, yanno? just hanging around in his head, it's like buddy time." he grins again. "right now he isn't, though: i'm just puppeteering the thing. he passed out on the couch waiting for you, and i thought y'all wouldn't appreciate not having shit to eat for breakfast. i'll whip up some stir-fry for tomorrow and dump this back where i found it for a good night's sleep, dw about it"
"ah," katsuya says eloquently, "thank you."
he doesn't leave the kitchen, still — changes positions, getting comfortable, leans on the counter, and watches dimple work. his quick movements, his(?) elegant hands, his concentrated expression, his(?) golden hair, his red cheeks. he looks so handsome like that.
"you look so handsome like this," katsuya says before his brain-to-mouth filter catches up to the rest of him.
dimple puts the knife down and stretches his(? arataka's?) hands out before him, admiring. "it's a beautiful body," he admits. it's not a grin, but smile, softer this time; private, even. "don't tell reigen i said that, but — i really enjoy this; being like this. not just the whole getting to be alive, running around and breathing and eating thing, though of course that too, but also — you know what i mean," he shifts a shoulder up. "possessing anyone is fun, but possessing reigen..." he runs one of his(?) hands down another of his(?) arms, lightly — almost reverently. "it's nice."
katsuya's breath hitches.
he's standing closer than he remembers being. arataka is so pretty like that, in this soft lighting; dimple is so pretty like that, in this soft body.
"i still want to kiss you," katsuya whispers.
dimple's breath, just for a flashing moment, hitches too; he wouldn't admit it. "go ahead," he says, louder than a whisper, but way quieter than his voice.
katsuya does.
it's not chaste and not desperate; gentle-slow and quick-curious, soft, warm, almost exactly the same as every kiss he'd had before, just like this, but so unlike them, and almost tangibly new.
it feels great.
"it feels great," dimple breathes. "it's been a long time, and i've kind of... forgotten what it's like. so i've always wondered how it would feel if i did it."
"you mean, kissing in general, or?..." katsuya makes a terrible, embarrassed pause. "...kissing me?"
dimple shrugs, and turns back to the cutting board again. chop-chop-chop! katsuya stares, maybe a bit dumbly.
***
katsuya wakes up in the middle of the night, slightly less drunk but significantly more disoriented, and stumbles towards bathroom, and gets arataka's phone flashlight shone right into his fucking face (and then quickly towards his feet with a bit-louder-than-necessary apology).
" 'm going to the bathroom", katsuya explains.
"ah, i'm just heading back. samesies moment!" arataka jokes.
katsuya buffers.
"i kissed your boyfriend last night and i'm so sorry!"
"...you are my boyfriend, tsuya," he raises an incredulous brow, and then a hand to brush at katsuya's forehead. "you alright, buddy?.. uh, do you mean you gave me a kiss while i was asleep? if so, it's fine, you shouldn't worry about little things like that-"
"no! i mean kinda yes? agh, i mean dimple-was-posessing-you-while-you-were-asleep-and-i-kissed-him-and-he-kissed-me-back-i'm-so-sorry!"
"ah yea he does that someti- you What? dimple WHAT? wait, did you just call dimple my BOYFRIEND?"
***
the conversation that ensues is horrible. not because anyone's fighting — no one is even angry, unless you count violent bafflement as a subtype of anger — but because a honest, serious, 3-way conversation regarding dimple, gayness, feelings, and gay feelings for dimple, by definition can not be not horrible. arataka takes a smoke break in the middle. (he quit 5 years ago, but a guy needs exceptions). katsuya feels the closest he's ever felt to a heart attack, and that's including all his previous life experiences. dimple grows out a weird little perfunctory foot to tap it in the air.
but they try their best, and they figure things out.
in the end, not much changes; they still don’t talk about too often, but now it feels more like comfortable lack of necessity rather than avoidance; they all just get it. and occasionally, dimple possesses arataka while he kisses katsuya, and oftentimes vice versa.
it's nice.

Sleep Token X D&D
An expansion of this post because je suis trés unhinged and I miss playing DnD. I'm not including homebrew content for simplicity sake, guiding myself through this website. Feel free to add or change as you will. I'll leave some links for each class specs in case you wanna read more, or aren't super familiar with it.
At first it would make sense for all of them to be different types of Warlocks or Sorcerers, with Sleep as their common patron. BUT I think that would be an easy cop-out, and I want to make things interesting. This is just my headcanon so yeah, don't mean, don't be weird. Let me know how you'd do it!!
(and if there are any DnD players who happen to come across this post and want to take inspiration on it, you're more than welcome to do so!)
Let's get to it, nerds 🎲2️⃣0️⃣
[cut because this is LONG]
Vessel
Race: Tiefling. A lot of room for inventiveness here, and you can change his appearance as you'd prefer. Maybe that's why he's always cloaked and masked. Maybe he gets even more disfigured every time he connects with Sleep. Class/Sub-Class: Warlock, The Great Old One (mysterious entity whose nature is utterly foreign to the fabric of reality). Obviously Sleep would be his patron. I like to think Vessel had an encounter with Sleep whilst not knowing who or what They were, and eventually became their servant. For the pacts, I had thought of Pact of the Tome, where the Book of Shadows would be his lyrics, but Pact of the Talisman is also great, because of the mask. @a-s-levynn had suggested The Fathomless for his sub-class, which is also AMAZING, especially if you want to lean into the whole tentacle/water horror aesthetic. Alternatively, Sorcerer, Divine Soul is an EXCELENT class for Vessel (actually, now that I'm editing this, I kinda prefer this one lmao). Read this and tell me this isn't exactly what Vessel is: Sometimes the spark of magic that fuels a sorcerer comes from a divine source that glimmers within the soul. Having such a blessed soul is a sign that your innate magic might come from a distant but powerful familial connection to a divine being. Perhaps your ancestor was an angel, transformed into a mortal and sent to fight in a god’s name. Or your birth might align with an ancient prophecy, marking you as a servant of the gods or a chosen vessel of divine magic. Yeah.
ii
Race: Lightfoot Halfling (yes I'm making him a hobbit, what about it?) Fire Genasi is also very apt. Class/Sub-Class: Druid, Circle of Wildfire (these druids bond with a primal spirit that harbors both destructive and creative power, allowing the druids to create controlled flames that burn away one thing but give life to another). This primal spirit, of course, would be Sleep. They are a bit of a mysterious entity. ii was the hardest to come up with. I knew I wanted him to be somehow connected to the land/elements, because I think that would be the best translation for his rhythmic prowess (drums wouldn't make much sense as a Bard). And that photo of him with the painted red fingertips reminds me of fire, so it seemed like a perfect fit. Some other alternatives: Druid, Circle of Dreams or Monk, Way of the Four Elements (monk would be SO good because of his silence, like LoZ Link, and the ability to harness his energy).
iii
Race: Obviously a Dark Elf. Obsidian-black polished skin, pale blond hair, pale blue eyes, slim figure. Need I say more? Earth Genasi could also be a good option, due to his golden vein-like paint. Class/Sub-Class: Ranger, Fey Wanderer (a ranger who represents both the mortal and the fey realms. As you wander the multiverse, your joyful laughter brightens the hearts of the downtrodden, and your martial prowess strikes terror in your foes, for great is the mirth of the fey and dreadful is their fury.) I quite like this because the options of how you acquire the magic are endless, and can be traced to Sleep or even Vessel (maybe he granted them?). iii is our favourite chaotic boy, but he can be so intimidating at times, this one plays off his duality quite well. Plus you get Otherworldly Glamour similar to iv which makes sense. A cool alternative could be Sorcerer, Wild Magic, as it has a similar base to Vessel and it draws magic out of chaos.
iv
Race: I thought about making him a Genasi or Half-Elf, but honestly I love him as a Human. I just love the idea that this human is sooo charming and talented, that even all these supernatural creatures can't help but be enthralled by him. Changeling or even Eladrin could also work. Class/Sub-Class: Bard, College of Glamour (these bards are so eloquent that a speech or song that one of them performs can cause captors to release the bard unharmed and can lull a furious dragon into complacency). I like that iv appears to be super low-key, but is actually insanely seductive (I see you mask pulling) and talented. So out of all of them, he was my obvious choice for a bard.
The Vesselettes
I think they could either be sort of like a greek chorus or muses but for Sleep, that appeared at key moments to help the party, or actual campaign members. Race: Aetherborn Class/Sub-Class: Clerics, Twilight Domain (The twilit transition from light into darkness often brings calm and even joy, as the day's labors end and the hours of rest begin. The darkness can also bring terrors, but the gods of twilight guard against the horrors of the night). It would be awesome to have them as healers and protectors of the party, who serve Sleep directly (if Sleep is evil, they could also be secret spies? To make sure the party does as Sleep intents). Or maybe they are protecting the party from Sleep (they can never sever their connection to them, but they will do everything they can to make sure the vessels won't go too far).
I'm not sure how they would all get together, but my [abridged] story would place them all as servants of this magical deity, called Sleep. Vessel was the first to encounter Them and lives as an actual, living vessel for them. They believe that Sleep, albeit mysterious, is a benevolent creature, who was wrongfully cast away from Their plane/stripped of their powers or divinity.
As the one closest to Sleep, Vessel can sense that something isn't quite right, but he's already so entangled and manipulated by them, that he doesn't even care.
So they fight all these people and creatures, believing they're doing something Good, but then it turns out that Sleep was evil all along? The people they have conquered and killed were actually good, trying to stop them from giving this awful, terrible being their power.
Sleep basically uses them to defeat their enemies and get back to whatever place or power they no longer have access to. Maybe the vessels turn their back on them? Maybe Vessel doesn't want to and they fight with each other? Or maybe they just keep serving Sleep?
Or, you know, Sleep could also be an actual helpful deity, and they are genuinely doing good by fighting in Their name. But maybe in the end Vessel can't let go of Them and drama ensues and everybody cries.
I don't know, this is just an idea. I spent WAY too much time researching for this, but it was fuuun. I love talking DnD.

for the ask game: sauron + 3, 13 and 22 <3
AHHH HIIII HARA !!! 🙏❤
3. Least favorite canon thing about this character?
i'm going to be honest. i don't think i have any "least favorite canon thing" about sauron. he's a very well written villain with flaws and soul. like, okay, tolkien i see the vision.
13. What's an emoji, an emoticon and/or any symbol that reminds you of this character or you think the character would use a lot?
🩸💥💢 - this is the emoji i like to associate him with. red like his hair and his uncontrollable bloodlust <333
💘💝💋💌💖💞💗💓💕💔❣🖤💫💣 - THIS is the emoji sauron would use #tome. i just know it in my soul that he love hearts emoji, while tweeting or posting the shadiest shit about someone. like- just straight up mean shit 😭😭😭 he DON'T HOLD BACK. if he has a priv he's the kind of mutual that would openly talk shit about you.
22. If you're a fic reader, what's something you like in fics when it comes to ths character? Something you don't like?
OOF good question. i'm going to list my top three that i like and i hate when it comes to sauron in fanfic. starting with what i like :
1) i love it when author present sauron as this ancient spirit that has a strong allegory to fallen angel. like they don't even hide it, because that's what he is and melkor inspired by!!! it just feels right when i see him characterized like that. it also add to this creepy factor where you know- that this creachure is evil- and YET- he dress himself in light. there's something uncanny about that. it's like he's a shadow of what he used to be. BONUS : when it's written from his perspective and he curiously thinking about how fragile everyone is,,,, oooh so good.
2) that he has a genuine connection with the characters he paired with ( romantically or platonically ). it's so SO GOOD. i don't like it when villains are spiteful with no substance. i find it so much more interesting if author intepret sauron as someone that yearn to bond. when i think about the valar, maia, and ainur, i like to base them off from most folklores where spirits can still have attachment towards (im)mortal beings. sauron may be hateful but he can still appreciate and adore the elves and men of Eru.
3) there's a balance between sauron the cruel and sauron-that-believe-he-Did-The-Right-Thing. OOOOOH when the author hit this perfectly, i did a little dance. i just love it when author emphasize sauron's tragedy with his own blinding pride. he is capable of kindness, but his belief deny him of this. once in a while he would show fondness to the children of Eru- BUT- his hatred would take over that light in his heart. so basically more sauron inner struggle.
NOW FOR THE THINGS I dislike :
1) when he's so.. humanized. as in his character doesn't feel like this creepy spirit that haunt the entire middle earth lmao. this is purely my personal opinion, but i want to be unsettled when i read his pov. i don't like it when he talk like a common man or think like a common man.
2) when the author write him as TOO nice. unless it's an au, i could never continue a fic where he's being so out of characterly sweet. he need a little sprinkle of darkness there. PLEASE.
basically that's it. lotr writers are so talented i could barely think of another point 😭 the good outweight the bad.

I’ve been meaning to post these for a while, we’re not technically done, since I haven’t done Mikoto yet, but what can you do.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
From top left to bottom right, it is Dot(Grimoire), Tenten(Tome), and Mai(Archive), then on the bottom it’s Ivy(name undecided), and Kushina(Kitsune).
The top three are the focus of Shuriken, Spikes and Swords, a crossover magical girl au I’m still working on, although it is fully planned out, just not fully written out.
Kushina and Mikoto were the generation before them, so they function a bit as mentors. I'm hoping to write out some shenanigans from when they were active. I've been meaning to get around to doing Mikoto, although I haven't managed it yet. I have a sketch for her, I just have to do it.
Ivy will be introduced in a second fic, something I had been intending to do anyway, just because it's been a lot of fun working on SSS. I had been intending to just continue with the three from the first one, however...I am not active in loz anymore, and that is very much on purpose, so I'd rather not have a fic still involving that. So, we're swapping Dot out. She'll just be moving away and Ivy will take her place. Ivy will be a couple years younger then Tenten, so just a year younger then Dot.
Please ask me about this au, I love it dearly, I have so much for it.
It got Long, so design notes under the read more.
Design notes going from top left to bottom right:
Dot: Her colors were a little rough since, well, almost all of her associated colors are already in Tenten or Mai. Pink, Red, and Teal all show up in one of those two. So it was a bit of a struggle to work that out. I think it worked out alright in the end though. Her design was originally a bit more complicated, then someone noted that her design was more complicated then Tenten and Mai's, so I ended up simplifying it a bit in the final version. She does have a cape, although it's rather hard to see. I swear it's there though. The bag at her side holds her magical item, which is a book, a grimoire you could say. It holds spells and potions and other such things. Her and Tenten were designed first, then Mai, so I could work out what things the two of them had in common and make them show up in Mai, since she had the least direction as she doesn't have any particular typical outfit from her anime. If you're wondering, the golden orb is magic and yes it's fully there to hide the fingers of that hand. We don't talk about that hand. Oh yes, please note the crown as well, that blue diamond is something you can note shows up on Tenten, Mai, and Ivy. It's a sort of team identifier thing. It's used when multiple teams of magical girls are in the same area, for something like a natural disaster usually.
Tenten: I settled on that hair option after it was decided to be the superior one between it and something similar but with braids. That one's probably more fun, if very Sailor Moon ish. Oh well. Her outfit does look very similar to one of her canon ones, which of course is on purpose, although note her forehead protector has the blue diamond on it instead of the Konoha symbol. She has a thigh pouch, and the bag hanging from her waist holds her magic item, which is a scroll similar to the ones she used in Konoha. When she's transformed it holds seals for all weapons she used in Konoha, when she's not, she draws her own seals on it, and those work like normal seals where she needs to put something in to take something out, as opposed to the transformed seals, which just spawn things in for her. There's a good chance I designed her first, since she's got the easiest design. You'll notice the waist belt system thing also shows up on Kushina and will show up on Mikoto, that is on purpose.
Mai: There was no particular reason for the boob window, Mai just wanted one and thought it was fun. Which, fair. It's mostly blocked by her hand in the drawing though. She's holding her magical item, which is a binder she writes in. She uses it to keep track of things, including the kinds of monsters they're seeing and in what quantities. She's got a couple other uses for it too, but that's the big one. She's technically a support type magical girl as she does not have magic from a past life, but she does still have magic she can use. Her specific ability is to briefly slow down time. She can't use it for very long though, as she doesn't have much magic. She's got blue diamond earrings, and if you're wondering, no one can pull on them, they're actively not technically attached to her ears. Not just a design choice they're actively not attached. Grab one and pull and you're just going to pull it away. It'll reattach itself when you let go. Notes I had when designing her outfit primarily were the skirt design, the lining of the top and sleeves, the gloves length, the bag, and the presence of the blue diamonds. Oh and the boots being like that. Her hair is held back by a headband, to go with the forehead protector on Tenten, and Dot's crown and hair bow.
Kushina: Her name is Kitsune, I'm sure you can guess why. She originally did have the long elf-like ears the others do, but after she figured out she could change her transformed state, she swapped them out for the big fox ears. It doesn't really matter as long as the ears aren't human. (Editor's note, here I realized while looking at my Ivy design that I had forgotten to do the long ears, and hurried off to fix that, this post has the proper version.) The whiskers on her face are fully because she knows Naruto had em in the other world, and she remembered his birth(and her death) soon after she became a magical girl. So there are very very few pictures of the times Kushina didn't have whiskers or big fox ears. Her magical item is the necklace, Mikoto's is also a necklace, although hers is a hawk. If you're wondering, Mikoto does have giant hawk wings, just because she could. And she should match Kushina. Kushina's actually wearing shorts under the green over dress.
And Last but Not least, Ivy: I lowkey almost forgot to draw the long ears on em. Luckily I remembered before posting this lol. Most important thing here and now: I'm going with a genderfluid Ivy! Mostly since I think it'll be fun. There is gender stuff going on with the whole magical girl situation, and while this isn't on display with any of the others, I figured I might as well get someone on board who could show off that side of this. that's mostly why I ended up picking Ivy out of all of my options for who would replace Dot. I'll just be using she when describing Ivy this time, but I'll probably switch it up in future posts. Ivy's one of the rare genderfluid magical girls who doesn't mind being active when they're not a girl, many genderfluid individuals who become magical girls are only working essentially part time. Whenever they comfortable with it. They're only found in teams of 3 or more because of that, so there's always at least two active magical girls. Actual design notes now: She's wearing kind of a variant on what she's normally wearing in the show, just without the jacket. Her magical item is Sora, although the slime only comes alive when she's transformed. Otherwise it's just a cute little plushie she carries around. She does have a fourth bag in the back attached to the belt around her waist, similar to in the show, and she can pull about anything out of those bags that she wants to. Similar to Tenten's scroll, they just spawn in the item she needs, although they are temporary. The blue diamond is on her bag strap, so still visible. Sora often hides out in the red bag, and is capable of healing large injuries, as well as smaller scrapes. Can and will eat bigger things now as well, although still prefers the potions Ivy can toss it. You will note that Ivy doesn't match Tenten and Mai quite as well as they match each other and Dot, that is on purpose, that's fairly typical for magical girl teams where one person was added later, since Ivy didn't become active at the same time as them, although they are her first team, she's technically considered a latecomer, which isn't bad. It's fairly normal for magical girl teams to switch up who's in them, especially early on when everyone is in college and early adulthood. Oh yeah you can note that her bangs are slightly off, particularly in the front, that is on purpose on her part, they look like Lattrua's.

Magical Mishaps, Morals, and Mishaps: Viper's Pit
Tumblr media
"...SLYTHERIN!" The hat called, eliciting a cheer from the green-clad table. The new Slytherin grinned and rushed to the table, their robes now lined in green and their uniform changed to green and silver. They found a cleared space, sitting down between two students who looked about their age. Eventually the cheers died down and the first years entered, the sorting ceremony commencing for real.
After a brief speech from the headmaster, students were allowed to eat. The student glanced around nervously at their housemates; they hadn't met any Slytherins on the train, and their Gryffindor friends seemed to dislike the house entirely.
"You're friends with Ace and Deuce, right? Don't worry, they won't hate you for being a snake." One of the students across from them piped up. The student looked to also be a fifth year, their brown-to-blonde hair tied back in a high ponytail, their fluffy bangs hiding the sides of their face and covering the edges of their round glasses.
"I'm December!" They introduced. The new Slytherin smiled and answered with their own name. When no one else seemed to say anything, December rolled their eyes and elbowed the black-haired boy next to them, who huffed in annoyance.
"Jamil Viper." He introduced, seeming a bit more relaxed than he had started. He glanced meaningfully to the silver-haired student next to the new student, who hummed in acknowledgement.
"Azul Ashengrotto, pleasure to meet you. Sorry, I was a bit absorbed in something." He explained, gesturing to the notebook in front of him. "My name is Jade Leech. If you see someone like me wearing red and gold, that would be my twin brother Floyd." He said, gesturing to the Gryffindor table where said twin seemed to be tormenting Ace and Deuce. The student chuckled slightly and turned back to reply, but was interrupted by a yelp from across the table.
"CATER get away from me-" "No way, it's been an entire summer!"
The new Slytherin glanced across the table to see an older student trying to force his way onto the bench next to December. A different student had already walked over to try and drag him away, apologizing to everyone and patting December on the shoulder.
"That was Cater Diamond. The guy who dragged him off is Vil Schoienheit. Both of them are upper classmen." Jamil supplied as the student watched the two of them retreat to the other end of the table.
The new student gulped and nodded, finally turning back to their meal. At the end of the feast, the Slytherins all followed their prefects down into the earie green dungeons, and settled into their dorm rooms. The new student glanced around at their dorm mates, greeting anyone they hadn't met yet before shuffling off to bed.
In the morning, they rose early in order to meet with Headmaster Crowley. They tugged on their green and silver uniform and headed to the Headmaster's office. Approaching the gargoyle guarding the office, they quietly repeated the password they'd been told.
"Caldron Cakes."
The gargoyle moved out of the way, revealing a small set of stairs up to the office. They knocked on the door quietly before entering, glancing around in amazement. The walls were lined with portraits of former headmasters, shelves stuffed to the brim with books and tomes. A large desk was positioned in front of a large window overlooking the courtyard, Headmaster Crowley sitting behind the desk.
"Welcome! I hope your housemates have been treating you well. Has Professor Sam made you feel welcome? Good good. Now I bet you're wondering why you're here!" He said, ignoring any of their potential inputs. The student stared at him before nodding.
"Excellent! Well you see, due to some uh...unforeseen circumstances, your house is down a prefect. Now I know you may not feel ready for the responsibilities, but I believe you would make a fantastic prefect, given your...history and such!" He said, holding a hand out to them. In his palm was a green badge, the word 'prefect' embedded in silver. The student nervously reached out to take the badge, feeling its weight in their hand.
"Alright-"
"Excellent! Well, here is your timetable, make sure you get to tall your lessons on time! Oh, and do be sure to eat! Your fellow Slytherin prefects should help you out if you ask." Crowley said, waving them off and immediately returning to her work. The new-student-turned-prefect sighed and exited the office, looking over their timetable. They slowly made their way to the Great Hall, sitting at the Slytherin table near the end by themself. They went over their classes again and pinned the badge on their uniform.
"Well! If it isn't the talk of the school. Whatcha got there?"
Looking up, the student came face-to-face with another Slytherin student. The student was short, with black and purple hair and a slightly too-big uniform. He looked like he was a third year maybe, but his face seemed a bit too mature to be younger than at least fifteen.
"Prefect's badge..." They said nervously before introducing themself.
"Cool! Hey, I'm a prefect too! My name's Lilia Vanrouge but just Lilia is fine." He explained, grinning down at them.
"There's a prefects' meeting tonight in the common room, right after dinner." He said before sitting across from them. They smiled in thanks and looked over their schedule, the other prefect asking about their schedule and providing insight on some of the classes. Soon, their housemates joined them, filling out the table.
"You're a fifth year too, right? Whatcha got first?" December asked, plopping down next to them and peering at their timetable.
[What is your first class?]
Ancient Runes
Divination
Arithmancy
Care of Magical Creatures, with Ravenclaw
Muggle Studies, with Hufflepuff

.......Hmm. The battle was won, but at what cost? Normally, this would be the part where he'd make a quip about things just taking time to get back to normal.
Tumblr media
...But, you know. Not the time. Not because he actually read the room, but because the 'room' around them was deforming at an alarming rate. Still standing on the now-deteriorating railing, DB stumbled to get ahold of the bars.
The room was only getting smaller, smaller, and smaller, until...
BOOM.
Whatever was the last of the Foise's toon magic sent him flying down one of the NTV hallways. The Banana had little tome to brace himself as he bounced off the floor a couple times before slowly skidding to a stop.

Normally, these unexpected bouts of force and toon damage would have left him with a few bruises and stinging of pain...
...But if he gained any, it already healed up by the time he realized what happened. Maybe too well...
Tumblr media
"....Why am I not bruised, pain, and limping on one leg, here?"
Tumblr media
😇 "Oh! We... I think we still have a lot of that pure healing energy left. 😈 probably held on to a LOT of it like a sponge." 😈 "...snork mimimi...."
"...Right. Guess it was a lot more than we ever expected to receive at once."
😇 "Well, we never gained that much in a large amount, and much less of that level of purity."
"....I thought I saw Death having a strange new form. He's healed me a few times before with a similar energy, but..." It was a normal amount, and not enough to completely pacify his bad-leaning self. And also not when the reaper's hair was as red as burning flames. Who knew reapers had their own 'super' form?...
😇 "...Maybe we could make this last as long as we want."
A moment of quiet.
😇 "Just.. think about this. This is, like, the healing factors of all healing factors! We don't have to worry about bruises! Or people trying to hurt us! Or humiliation or pain from anything! We can finally just... smile. And laugh. And dance without the fear of death threats! It would be like our beginning days!"
Another moment.
...It all sounded promising. But there was no denying the hesitation of something that was too good to be true. Maybe it was true. But maybe...
"...You and I both know that would be selfish thinking." Having seen and heard most of the last important bit, he knew that there were others who did not have this luck of being healed properly. Perhaps it was cheating that he had the powers required for soul-related 'purposes', but he stood firm that he never asked for them in the first place. He didn't ask for making 😈 a part of his life either, but on the other hand... He's the reason why he's learning from pain and suffering. To learn how to grow a backbone. To realize that the world isn't always fair and that one can't always expect for things to get easier by themselves. Of course, he also comes with the negatives - snarky behavior, occasional rudeness, short temper, stubbornness, and whatnot.
But 😇 also balances out the more negative traits with positivity. And empathy to those whom he can relate to. And occasional kindness regardless of the other's existence. And love and compassion... It's just that they dislike confrontation and only wishes for the 'easy' way possible.
Tumblr media
"...As the saying goes - no pain, no gain. If it wasn't for all the pain that we went through for the last couple of years, we wouldn't have learned anything at all. Besides, if I'm gonna step up as a better toon at one point, then death threats would be the last of our concerns." After all, 'real' toons can't die. And pain is only temporary, anyways.
Tumblr media
😇 ".....I suppose we're right. I know there's many others who could use it a lot more than we do right now."
...He wondered if he can return enough of it back somehow. Maybe to whoever remained at NTV, at least...

POP CULTURE WITCHCRAFT/PAGANISM: Tharja of Plegia (a guide)
Tumblr media
Lore/Personality:
Tharja is dark and mysterious, and is drawn to the more baneful workings (as is to be expected of a Plegian mage). She is skilled in things like inducing sleep, curses, forcing a state of awakening, etc. But she is also a pro at glamour magic, charms, and love magic. Tharja is very possessive over her select beloved ones, and would do ANYTHING for them, so she’s a great entity to call upon for protection if you’ve earned her admiration and infatuation. while she is shadowy in character she is not a villain. She sides with her heart and if that means she’s siding with a good cause then she gives good causes her all. Tharja loves creepy critters, snakes, bats, spiders, etc. Tharja is usually only devoted to one person at a time. She even will change her creepy ways to satisfy her beloved’s needs if they do not like creepy things. However, she is not to be double crossed, as she’s very generous in laying curses on those who treat her poorly or like a doormat. Loyalty is everything to her. She holds no political stance amongst the Kingdoms, only siding with those who fascinated her.
Quotes:
“My secrets have nothing to do with beauty…”
“Do you like darkness?”
“I truly braided my fate with only one person in my past.”
“I like working on new hexes, so if you talk to me at the wrong time you might suffer… consequences.”
“Death comes for all of us eventually. Why invite it early, fighting for a cause I don't believe in?”
“Me, weaving horrible, awful hexes? Oh those were just PRACTICE curses. Honest.”
"Well, lah-dee-dah. Don't you look happy. Trying to make the gloomy woman feel bad?”
"I've devised a hex to make dreams come true. Tell me your desires and hold still...”
"Don’t worry. I’ll be with you always. ...Even if it’s as a vengeful ghost.”

The Mass of Muscle in Mario Kart, The Enforcer That'll Make You See Stars in the Smash Bros. Boxing Ring, it's Morton Koopa Jr.!! I'd already hoomanized this loveable goof waaaay back in 2017, so I guess this can be considered a long-overdue upgrade instead of a debut :3
Admittedly, I don't have much to say in regards to his design. Rather disappointing in hindsight, since this is the team blabbermouth I'm talking about here… :'D
At most, I wanted to do a bit more than just give him a tank top and shorts and call it a day. Dunno why I thought "bomber vest," but much like Larry's crop top it was a match made in heaven. Getting the right shade of red was a bit tricky, though. I wanted to avoid having something too dull, but also wanted to avoid burning people's eyes. Hopefully I was able to do just that owo"
Time to make a list with a Morton-worthy word count! >:3
Morton's magic is primarily creation/transformation-based. You know those spells where you form objects, weapons, or even buildings out of whatever's around you? Yeah, those kind of spells. While Morton primarily uses these spells to construct the various castles across the Worlds during a kingdom takeover, don't be surprised when a giant chunk of wall is suddenly ripped away, mashed into a misshapen ball (with or without spikes for extra pain), and promptly thrown at you.
However, that isn't to say he can just build whatever the hell he wants on a dime. When it comes to any project, big or small, he needs a clear and detailed visual either in his mind or on paper, lest the result fall apart within minutes or even seconds after Morton casts the spell. Hence why he has a construction company in tow instead of just building castles solo. He's not good with blueprints...
Morton's talent wasn't discovered until he accidentally reformed a wall in the Koopa Castle library. He was touring the castle during a class field trip, got lost, and was enamored by the seemingly endless array of magical tomes. For future reference, you shouldn't try to read incantations aloud, especially if you don't know what they're supposed to do.
Kamek wasn't sure whether to scold this grade-schooler kid for nearly destroying his precious library or praise him for reading the incantation well enough to just 'rearrange' the bricks instead of wrecking an entire castle wall. Morton was sent home that day with little more than a stern warning, but a few days later a letter shows up with his name on it, asking Morton to return to Castle Koopa to take an aptitude test. If this kid's got any magical talent in his veins, letting him run amok without proper training is just asking for trouble down the line.
This time he DID destroy a wall. And part of the ceiling. And two windows. And maybe terrify his dad a little, to the point where custody was handed over a little... quicker than expected...
To say that Morton was hurt by the above incident would be an understatement. He... he passed the test, didn't he? He's gonna train under the royal advisor now! Why was his father so... scared...? How could he just... leave Morton like that?! If Bowser Jr.'s Journey is any indication, loyalty is very important to Morton, and this kind of betrayal was unacceptable. That night, with angry tears in his eyes, Morton swore to never call that man his father ever again. His new King Dad was sure to be much better anyway.
By extension, he refuses to speak to his other biological family members either. Though some of his siblings have tried to call...
Much like Larry, Morton is prone to info-dumping about the things he likes, which usually revolves around whatever show or book he's hooked on that month. Nothing excites him more than a well-crafted story, full of adventure and lore or just something that makes the viewer/reader stop and think for a moment. He's popular in a number of forum circles for always crafting long but well-thought-out essays on the subject in question.
He's always recommending things to his siblings, catering each title to each Koopaling's tastes. Do they actually check the titles out? Not as often as he'd hope.
Ludwig once decided to take up Morton's suggestion and watched a Mario-verse equivalent of Your Lie in April. He blamed Morton for the hours he spent sobbing afterward.
Every now and again he'll take a stab at writing his own stories, be it original or fanfic. If Morton suddenly starts talking in third person, that's a hint that he was trying to write something recently and couldn't turn his "writing mode" off.
He reverts to short, choppy sentences when he's upset and can't think straight. This may even lead to him mispronouncing words or using improper grammar. Think "MORTON STRONG! MORTON MORE TONS!!"
He's quick to develop crushes on girls with great physical strength. This is actually pretty common amongst Dragon Koopas, as many of them view those with great power, be it magic or muscle, as very desirable mates. Not even Ludwig can resist such allure at the end of the day~ >;3c
That being said, he's not one to act on said desires as soon as he has them. As much as he likes tough girls, he's actually very shy when talking to one, and forces himself to be very polite out of fear of scaring her off.
His magic wand was turned into a hammer-shaped belt buckle. Yes he will insist that it's a hammer, not a pipe. Hammers are awesome, pipes suck, end of story.

12. humming a melody together
After working with the rambunctious group that included Nero tol Scaeva, Rowan found herself needing quieter company. Within a few days they would ascend to the top of the Crystal Tower and Rowan found that she fared much better in battle if she had a rested mind as well as body.
Unable to find a restful environment in the Rising Stones, Rowan sought the quieter company of the Waking Sands. She stopped by the common room to see who was still out and about.
"Rowan, what brings you here to the Sands?" Arenvald asked.
"It's too noisy at the Stones lately," Rowan said. "I can't hear myself think half the time."
Arenvald chuckled. "Well, if you don't mind me chattering away then I think you'll have a better time here."
Rowan sat and listened to the various gossip of Vesper Bay through Arenvald's eyes. It was nice to just listen to and comprehend a singular conversation rather than seven or so. The young man had just gotten into the more esoteric chores Urianger was having him do when the man himself entered the room.
"Arenvald, dost thou know if there is yet any stew remaining?" he asked, then he almost jumped when he saw Rowan. "Mistress Rowan, I did not expect thy company tonight. Is aught the matter at the Rising Stones?"
"There's naught but the voices of just a few too many people." Rowan smiled. "Alphinaud's recruitment strategy seems to work despite my shyness."
Urianger nodded and spoke praise of the young Scion as Arenvald got the three of them bowls of stew that was still on the hearth. The three of them shared the meal in happy conversation and stories.
Arenvald yawned and stretched after a few bells had passed. "Well, I think it's time for me to hit the hay. You two - well, you two are going to stay up as late as you want, but don't stay up later than usual."
Rowan chuckled and waved the other Scion good night.
Urianger tapped on the table for a few seconds to a familiar rhythm after Arenvald left. Then his face lit up. "I just recalled the book I wanted to show thee. Shall we adjourn to the library?"
The tapped rhythm wouldn't leave Rowan's head as they walked to the cramped space that served as the Sands' library. She hummed at a volume she thought was low enough to not be heard. She had been reprimanded enough as a child to learn how to keep her volume in check.
So she chuckled when she heard Urianger start humming along with her as he traced the book covers finding his book.
"Wherefore art thou laughing?" he asked, handing her the book.
"We ended up humming the same song," Rowan said. "The funny thing is that I don't even remember what it's called."
Urianger gave a nervous chuckle. "Ha, so we did... ah, I believe the title to be The Red Rocks, which this tome also taketh as its own. Arenvald sangest the tune as he was cooking tonight. And as thou hadst asked about a book on Ala Mhigo but recently so did fate deigneth to remind me of it."
"Thank you," Rowan said warmly, "I'll read it tonight." Both smiled at the other awkwardly, unable to think of what else to say. Rowan turned quickly to remove the sudden temptation to give Urianger a peck on the cheek. Where did that come from? Mayhap I've been with A'quexta and Thorsthal too long. "Good night, milady," he called as she reached the door. "Ah, good night, Urianger."
Thanks for the prompt!

Can you write something about Shin? It’s cool if you don’t, but I love your writing.
🥺🥺🥺 thank you so much!! i'd be happy to write something about shin!!!
Like any other night, Shin walked around his room and checked to make sure that his talismans were intact for the last step of his nightly routine. With all of the meddling he'd been doing into the dark arts, he wouldn't be surprised if he'd accidentally angered a ghost or a demon. Taking diligent preventative measures had become necessary. After all, he still walked the earth - proof it was working.
After confirming that nothing had been disturbed, Shin turned off the lights and climbed into bed. However, the darkness of the room made it that more obvious that someone was flashing a bright light into his windows. He immediately shot up in bed and mentally ran through everything. Flashing lights? Was there a demon correlated to that, or was it a ghost? What names would he need to repel the spirit? Staying in bed wouldn't save his skin, though. If he could see it, he might be able to identify it, and then he could figure out a way out of this. Slowly, he slipped out from under the cover, grabbed a spare crystal, and peeked out between the blinds. Upon seeing the perpetrator of the flashing lights, he immediately relaxed.
This was no demon, but rather his close friend and confidant, Oka Ruto. Shin put down the crystal and pulled the blinds up before opening the window. "President!" he called out in an airy voice. "I thought you were a demon or something! What are you doing?"
"There's no time... to explain," she called back. "Come downstairs..."
"But-"
"Hurry!" she hissed. Shin flinched at her urgency; it was very unlike her to be so forward. Like him, Oka was extremely cautious in everything she did, so she must have had a good reason for exerting such dangerous amounts of negative energy.
Shin managed to sneak down the stairs without disturbing his parents and quietly left the house, opening the gate to allow Oka into his yard. "President, what's wrong?"
"I have to... go away," Oka said.
"Go away?" Shin asked incredulously. "But the school year's about to start; you can't!"
"I-I have to - it's about my parents...!" Oka pulled up the neckline of her sweater, as if hiding behind it. "They got hired to do an exorcism... and haven't come back. Something evil has happened... and if it's got them, I have to help...!"
"W-Wait, slow down," Shin said with a shaking voice. "Think carefully. Your parents are trained for this, you're still a novice! You wouldn't stand a chance! We should gather the rest of the club-"
"No," Oka interruped. "Y-You can't. Our work at Akademi is... too important. There's too much restless karma in that place... I have to go alone. I came here... to give you this." Oka reached into her pocket and held out a band of red fabric. The leader's armband. "Until I get back... and even if I don't... this is yours. You have to lead them now, Shin-kun..."
Shin stared at the armband, his vision nearly wavering at the responsibility and capacity for failure it represented. "N-No, I can't do what you do, I-"
"Yes, you can...! I've taught you nearly everything I know... and the tomes in the club can teach you the rest. I need you to do this for me... please... you're the only one I trust for this."
Shin finally broke his gaze away from the armband to look at Oka. She'd tried to put on a strong face, but the circles under her eyes were darker than ever. Her face looked thinner and her complexion was more of a sickly pale than usual. Perhaps she, too, had been possessed to go to her parents. If that were the case, then she might already be a lost cause... but she could also be genuinely asking for help out of desperation. Either way, the occult club would shut down without a leader, and Shin understood that Akademi needed to be protected from the evils that wandered its halls. Steeling his determination, Shin reached out with a shaking hand and slowly took the armband from Oka.
"Thank you..."
"I-I'll do my best," Shin whispered, "But come back soon. P-Please."
Oka smiled. "If all goes well, then I will... but for now... goodbye." Oka held up a hand to signal her departure, a faint smile tugging at her lips, and then she swiftly opened the gate and disappeared like a shadow into the night.
Shin's shaking grasp on the armband tightened until his fingernails were digging into his palms. He didn't like this one bit. Surely, he would disappoint Oka, if and when she came back. But since he had no choice, he would step up. The stakes were too high. He decided to set up an arrangement of crystals that might send some positive karma to Oka and her parents. After all of the people they helped, there must be plenty to spare, but he would sacrifice his own if he had to.
After all, to Shin, nothing else was more important than protecting those he held dear from the forces of darkness.

Chapter 9 Part 4: Getting out of a bind
So we're in the middle of this turn where I'm wondering if I over-committed maybe.
Amelia here is one concern. I'm not planning to use her, but she is carrying a speedwing, so I don't want her to die. I send in Seth to rescue her out.
Tumblr media
So now Franz is isolated up above, but he's pretty tough. Ross can get hit by two different archers, which might not be great, but at the time, I overlooked it. I send Neimi up to attack this weaponless fool. She can't kill him, which is good, because I don't have to worry about her getting attacked by two enemies on enemy phase since this guy is taking up the one spot where the left archer could hit her from.
The right archer with a longbow can still get her, but she can take one hit.
Tumblr media
I end turn, and the reinforcement cavaliers move down and are replaced by two new ones.
Tumblr media
Ross managed to survive enemy phase, no thanks to my (lack of) planning.
Tumblr media
Here's the range for the top archer. I really want to get rid of the archers because they inhibit Vanessa's movement. The one on the right with the longbow is hurt, as is the one on the left. I'll focus on getting the top one, probably with Franz since he's right there.
Tumblr media
I'm confident that I can take care of the archers, so I have Vanessa eliminate this mage. I think this may have been the guy with the red gem that I forgot to steal... :(
Also, this level up... :(
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This should be easy for Ephraim.
Tumblr media
I spent a bunch of time thinking about who else could maybe take out this archer, because Ross doesn't have 100% hit, and if he misses and gets hit, he dies.
I ultimately do the dumb thing and just go for it, and it works out!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then for some reason, I heal Ross after the attack above. I should have done this first.
Neimi also eliminates the staffless monk.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Finally, Franz takes out this archer and the skies (ceilings?) are safe for Vanessa.
Tumblr media
I decide to block the top with Franz and Seth. Seth has good res, and everything else, so he'll be fine. Franz's res is not amazing, but it's better than Kyle's.
Also, note Seth's lowered skill and speed. This is the penalty for carrying someone since he's still holding Amelia.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I have Kyle grab Neimi so that Seth won't be slowed down, and then send Seth up to kill this mage twice over.
Tumblr media
Franz takes some damage from the remaining mage, but the cavaliers are not a threat at all.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So now we have one mage left, the first two cavalier reinforcements, and then two more reinforcements on their way down.
Tumblr media
Seth takes out this mage since he won't take damage, and he gets a chest key.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lute takes out the other cavalier and gets more magic.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Putting Lute there though means that Moulder can't reach Franz if I use Franz to block off Lute from getting hit by the cavaliers coming in from above. And I'd rather Lute not take physical hits.
So Franz just has to heal himself. But as we saw before, he's not at risk of taking pretty much any damage from those guys.
In fact, in retrospect, why did I even bother healing him?
Tumblr media
Like, I didn't need to at all. He's not in range of this dark mage, and his defense is ridiculous.
Tumblr media
Speaking of that dark mage, he's got a Luna tome, which has 20 built-in crit and ignores res, making it potentially dangerous even against mages / pegasus knights / or other units with high res who usually don't fear tomes.
...except it has garbage hit and 0 might, so it's not actually much of a threat.
Tumblr media
The two cavaliers come in and attack Seth and Vanessa.
Vanessa also ended her turn in range since one of the cavaliers has a javelin and could throw it over the wall at her. This was not a mistake though, you can see I equipped a javelin on her, so it was my intention to present her as a target!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next time: Lute and Vanessa have an awkward conversation!

Story for Wednesday the 1st of June, 2022
"Are you going to stop staring kid and help me move these?" The large creature made of rock asked as he pulled a crate of bottles off his truck. Ryan instinctively grabbed the crate and placed it behind herself. Just moments before her father had given her a key to the back room of their shop and pushed her in with a happy, 'good luck'. Now some kind of rock-man with stone bat wings was passing her crates of what looked like potions. "Alright," the creature sighed happily, pulling out a clipboard and pen from thin air. Sparkles wafted off the newly conjured items. "Sign here to say that I delivered everything in one piece and I'll be on my way." "Uh, sure," Ryan stammered back. She still wasn't certain what exactly was happening but at least she wasn't being asked to pay for these things. The door behind her opened and her mother came strolling in. "Oh, hi Stone." His name was Stone? What kind of parents did he have? "Is it time for another potion delivery already?" "Yes, ma'am," Stone responded, tipping his hat in her direction. "And we thank you for your continued patronage of our location." Her mother laughed. "All good. We'll keep coming back as long as you keep delivering potions that sell." Once the truck had driven away, Ryan turned to her mother. "What is going on?" she demanded to know. "Your father must have ordered more stock since we're stationing you out here during work hours." "That's not what I meant and you know it. What's going on? Potions? This back room that opens out to a forest? We don't have a forest behind the convince store! We're in the middle of the city for goodness sakes!" "Actually, we're in the Space Between." "That doesn't answer my question." "It links to your father's homeland. People from all over like to come here and pick up items that they might not be able to get in their world." "Like potions?" Ryan picked up one of the bottles. The red liquid inside sloshed around, glimmering in the sunlight. "What do these potions even do anyway?" "Heal minor wounds. Why do you think you only rarely went to the doctor as a kid?" "I've never been hurt bad enough." Her mother chuckled. "I'm sure you once broke your leg. Anyway, the potion fixed that instantly." Ryan didn't recall any such incident but she didn't doubt that it had happened. Now that she thought about it, her parents had given her something red to drink after she got hurt. They called it 'ouchie cordial'. She called it 'gross medicine'. Although, as she grew older, she thought it was just her parents trying to distract her from whatever pain was upsetting her at the time. "I guess this explains why I never got the 'ouchie cordial' when my monthies started," she mused. "Yeah," her mother sighed. "It's a shame it doesn't work on pain like that. It doesn't interfere with the normal functions of the body. Which is also why it doesn't work on things like diarrhea." "What do you what me to do with these?" Ryan asked. "Put them on those shelves, next to the magic tomes. Also, don't touch the magic tomes, they're one time use and you don't know what they do." "I'd know if you told me," Ryan snapped back as she picked up a crate and pushed it onto the shelf.
