The most effective thing about Ever After High is that every student has their own personal struggle that adds another element to just how life-ruining the destiny system is.
Apple is so terrified of what will happen to her if she doesn’t follow her destiny, that she is willing to compromise everyone else’s happiness to make sure it happens. This disregard for other people is only encouraged by the influential adults in her life.
Ashlynn has to be a servant to an abusive family and live knowing that the ultimate end to her supposedly happy ending is dying to set the stage for her daughters traumatic backstory, starting the whole cycle over again with no chance for any of them to escape.
Blondie feels so pressured to fit in to a deeply classist/monarchist society and ashamed of her parentage that she constantly presents a fake version of herself to everyone she knows, even her best friends.
Briar has to spend her whole life waiting for the moment her destiny comes and she falls asleep for a century. She knows that when she’s woken up, she will be forced to marry a boy dozens of years younger than her who she’s never met and live knowing that everyone she ever loved is dead and gone, the very things that she watched cause her mother’s emotional breakdown.
Cedar’s father was so afraid of watching her repeat his mistakes that he overcorrected, making it impossible for her to ever learn lessons for herself. She is also forced to share incredibly personal details with anyone who asks her questions, and can’t be trusted by her friends with any of their secrets, and it’s all because of her father’s past trauma.
Cerise has to hide who she truly is and never gets to see her family together and happy despite the fact that her parents have potentially the most healthy and mutually beneficial marriage in the whole franchise.
Daring was groomed from birth for a destiny that ends up not actually being his at all, leaving him aimless, feeling as though he has no purpose and has wasted his entire life.
Darling is forbidden by patriarchy and destiny to become a knight, the only thing she really wants, and at which she would be better than both of her brothers. She has to hide who she is and what she loves from everyone she knows
Dexter lived his whole life never knowing what his destiny would be but also knowing that whatever it was he’d have to commit to it forever the moment he discovered it at Legacy Day.
Duchess has spent her whole life knowing that the story she’s commited to living out ends in tragedy for her, and then had to watch the very people she’s been jealous of for years because of their seemingly happy endings give up those endings, while Duchess, loyal and rule following Duchess, is still stuck with her tragedy.
Faybelle tries so hard to commit to what she sees at her destiny that she’s never had a real friend in her life. Even still, no one recognizes her for all that effort and all she’s given up to be a suitable villain. Everyone is more afraid of Raven, who doesn’t even want to be evil.
Hunter has to constantly go against his moral compass to fulfill his destined role as a Huntsman and to try and make his father proud of him.
Kitty has been taught over and over again to value her Mother’s approval over all else, even at the expense of her friends. Her destiny is to create mischief, but how much more mischief can a dissolving world take before it’s too much?
Lizzie finds it almost impossible to express love or care for anyone else due to her mothers excessive conditioning that’s nearly akin to brainwashing. The saddest thing might be that her mother is actually, in her own way, trying her best to prepare Lizzie for a world that will only ever see her one way—as a villain. Now she lives in Ever After, princess to a kingdom that might not even exist for much longer, having given up everything for a destiny that may soon be impossible.
Maddie is a refugee forced from her home into a world she barely understands at a tender age. But she cannot express any angst or negative feelings about this circumstance, because to do so would go against her character. She lives in a world obsessed with destiny and stories while not even knowing if she’ll ever be able to return home and live out her story.
Raven is judged by almost everyone around her for her mothers crimes, many of which were required of her by destiny in the first place. She is nearly forced to commit to becoming a tyrannical megalomaniac (and almost falls into it herself, several times) who would be sentenced to lifelong punishment and torture for committing acts that weren’t even her idea in the first place, and the one punishing her would have been the very girl who begged so often for her to stop being so difficult and just follow her destiny.

Series Masterlist ⭐︎ Previous Chapter ⭐︎ Next chapter
The lights that hang above the shelves in the living room illuminate the darkened room, casting a soft yellow glow on everything. The TV screen lights up brightly as the killer in the movie shows up dramatically again. The sound is low and no one is paying attention to the horror movie that you have all seen multiple times already. The rain paddles against the windows and the lightning crashes through the sky every few seconds or so, though no thunder has rumbled yet, making you feel relieved. The room smells like takeout and weed, dirty plates litter the coffee table but no one cares about that yet.
A big cloud of smoke lingers in the room as Eddie and Robin pass the joint back and forth, the latter talking his ear off about the date she had gone on with Vickie the night before, while your eyes are stuck on Michael Myers on the screen, taking the joint from Eddie when he offers it to you, you place it between your lips, squinting your eyes as you take a drag and inhale it deeply.
You can feel his eyes on you, you can feel them everywhere, on your face, on your upper body, on your bare legs, they’re burning into your skin and you’re now not as blind as you were days back when you thought that you were imagining things, that every slightest glance and touch from his were feeding you lies – that his touches were accidental and his glances meant nothing. But you were wrong, so very wrong.
For days, your mind has been plaguing you with thoughts about him, and it’s nothing new, really, but it was different than usual. Because before the dinner at Joyce’s and Hopper’s place, he had never given you anything to overthink about, to make yourself feel delusional over. Steve had never touched you before, at least not like that. He had never placed his hand on your waist, he had never brushed his knuckles against yours, he had never looked at you the way he did that night and he certainly never commented on the clothes you wear.
It drove you crazy, and it made you believe that he somehow figured you out, that he found out about your feelings and decided to torture you by teasing you with touches that he knew you wished had a deeper meaning. But he wouldn’t do that, especially not after your conversation weeks ago, not when he was doing everything to keep the peace. He wouldn’t do that – maybe King Steve would’ve done something like this, but not this Steve – not even when he still holds hatred for you.
Steve teased you, not accidentally, not unintended. He did it openly, because he wanted to for whatever reason and you only realized it today, when you walked through his front door behind Eddie who held the bags of takeout, you were met with the same teasing look in Steve’s eyes you saw that night. He licked his lips and let his eyes run up and down your body so shamelessly that it almost threw you off because where was this all coming from?
When did he go from hating your guts, from arguing every chance he got to whatever this is.
Not only did he look at you like he was ready to flirt, he also placed his hand on your lower back when he led you into the living room earlier – and as though that wasn’t enough to make you crumble, he also leaned in to whisper ‘cute skirt, Blondie.’
Cute skirt!? His husky voice and those words kept repeating themselves like a broken record ever since they fell from his lips, they made you think so hard that you dissociated while eating the fries that you’ve been craving all day, missing the conversation between your friends and half of the movie that you watched before Eddie put on Halloween. Only the touch of Steve’s hand pulled you back into reality, you almost jumped from your seat when you felt his hand on your knee when he very obviously pretended to reach over you to grab the bottle of ketchup with a smirk on his face. That was evidence enough for you to realize that all his touches were intended and he did want to tease you, but not for the reason you thought.
Why? You still don’t know.
You’re pretty sure that he isn’t attracted to you, at least not in the way you are to him.
But if he wants to play this game, then you certainly won’t pass up on the opportunity to tease him back a little, though testing the waters first – because you absolutely won’t make a fool of yourself in front of him.
You have to take it slow until you’re completely sure that he is doing what you think he’s doing.
You glance at Eddie, his eyes are rimmed with redness, a lazy smile plays on his lips, his eyes are stuck on the screen but he is so far gone in his mind, he is not paying attention to anything anymore, not Robin’s rambling, not the movie and certainly not to you and Steve.
Robin’s hair is sprawled across the pillow, she looks up at the ceiling, the joint now back between her lips but she’s still rambling.
They won’t notice anything.
You take a sip of your drink, eying Steve from the side, and he is already looking at you, he is looking at you in a way that would drive your teenage self up the wall – you’d be a blushing and giddy mess thinking about it for the rest of the day, daydreaming about things that would never even happen. But you’re not a teenager anymore, his glances and touches still make you blush – but you’re not stupid and you certainly don’t daydream about things that aren’t even there.
You still don’t know why is he looking at you that way but the little sweet voice in your head is telling you that he might have harbored a tiny little crush after seeing you in a stupid dress while the other voice is telling you that Steve Harrington wants to fuck you. These voices might belong to the ghosts of Chrissy and Billy because in no way would you ever think that Steve could ever feel anything more than hatred for you.
How will he react if you tease him back a little?
You don’t even have to make it obvious, you can play it off, you can play anything off.
“Do you guys want something sweet?” Steve asks, “I got ice cream in the freezer.”
“What else do you have?” Eddie slurs, something that makes Robin giggle.
“Uh, M&M’s, Reese’s, Sour gummies,” Steve mumbles, scratching the back of his neck as he looks up, thinking of what else he got in his cabinet, “I got some chips too.”
Eddie looks at Steve, pointing at him with his ringed finger, “I want it all.”
Steve snorts at him and at the dazed look on his face, “alright. I’m just gonna clean this up first,” he points to the mess on the table.
Perfect.
“I’ll help.”
His eyes meet yours, a slight smirk tugs at his lips, “you sure you wanna get your hands dirty, Blondie?”
“Oh, I don’t mind getting my hands dirty,” you smirk and break eye contact, rising up from the seat and swallowing down the nervousness.
The space between the coffee table and the couch isn’t exactly big, and it gives you the perfect opportunity to make the first little step. With an innocent look on your face, you glance at him one more time, before you turn your back to him, bending over in front of him to pick up the dirty plates. Your heart is pounding and your cheeks are already burning but you pay no mind to that.
Steve sucks in a sharp breath, you can hear it.
Should you even be surprised? His eyes almost bulged out of his skull when your skirt rode up after you just sat down earlier, his eyes were glued on your bare thighs the whole goddamn time and you saw it and yet your heart skips a beat at his reaction just now.
You’re aware of how short your skirt is and that all it takes is for you to bend down a slight bit more for him to see more than just your thighs, a little further down and he will be able to see your ass and your panties.
You bite back the smirk as you stack up the dirty plates, taking your sweet time with it. You can feel his eyes on your body and it takes everything in you not to turn around to look at his face but your little plan backfires when you suddenly feel his hands on your hips and his breath on your shoulder. You freeze.
“I’m sorry,” he whispers into your ear, “it’s so tight in here.”
Blood rushes to your face and your stomach fills with butterflies. His touch and his voice sending shivers down your spine.
This is bad. This is so very bad.
You heard the mischief in his voice and his touch still lingers, he doesn’t need to take that long to squeeze past you.
You don’t know what’s gotten into him or you, it might be the weed in your system or just the spur of the moment but as you pick up all the plates, you take a step back and press yourself against him, only for a one… or two seconds but long enough for you to feel the warmth of his body against yours, long enough to feel his hand squeezing your hip for a single second, long enough to hear him sucking in another sharp breath.
And then, you step away from him like nothing happened, with innocence in your eyes, you look over your shoulder, “you’re right, it is really tight.”
You see the way his lips part a little, the way his eyes darken and the way he clenches his jaw. He is angry that you are not falling for his teasing, that you are doing the same to him that he does to you.
You walk into the kitchen and carrying the dishes over to the sink, you put them down and place your hands on the counter, taking a deep breath as you close your eyes, only now noticing how fast your heart is beating and how clammy your hands are, you give yourself a moment to calm down before you reach for the dish soap and the sponge after you turn on the water.
Flirting is nothing new to you and you’re certainly not shy about it, not anymore.
Billy was your best friend, and if there’s something he was good at, then it was flirting and taking home girls. He taught you how to be more confident, how to embrace your sensuality and he taught you how to flirt.
Losing your best friend took a toll on you and you couldn’t stand to be in Hawkins when every place you had gone to, reminded you of him, so you left for a little while. You spent two months in Indianapolis and stayed with your sister. You started going out, parties your sister had dragged you to, clubs and downtown bars and you had fun. For the first time in your life, you were approached by men, they flirted with you and that felt… good. You let your guard down when you were with them, you didn’t feel the need to hide yourself from them, they wouldn’t stay in your life for longer than a night, you didn’t have to fear them leaving or hurting you, there was no attachment, no connection or anything deeper between you than lust, you could be yourself in those few hours you spend with them.
They made you feel something other than grief, sadness and heartbreak. They were nothing but strangers to you but you felt something in those nights you spent in their beds, their touches brought you back to life… even if only temporarily.
You are used to flirting, you are used to teasing, it’s an easy game to you… with strangers. But Steve Harrington? He makes you nervous, he makes your heart race like crazy, he burns you with only his glances, and his touches make you feel like you have been kissed by something out of this world. He is different, he is no meaningless man in your life, he is not someone you would kick out of your bed after taking from him what you wanted, he is not someone you could easily leave behind and never look back to again. No, Steve holds your heart in the palm of his hand, he left a tear in your soul, he is the someone you would do anything for and that changes everything. You can’t treat him like you treated them because he is special, every little interaction with him, sets your heart on fire.
“Jesus, Blondie!” Steve’s voice sounds through the kitchen, making you flinch in surprise, “use less dish soap, one drop is enough!”
With furrowed brows you look down at all the foam in the sink. It’s not even bad.
You turn around, glaring at the man and the tone in his voice.
He shakes his head at you, crossing his arms over his chest as he walks towards you.
“Are you washing the dishes or me!?” You growl at him, ignoring the tension that still lingers between the two of you.
Steve chuckles as he stops beside you, raising his hands up in surrender, “you didn’t have to do it, don’t blame it on me.”
You turn back to the plate you were washing, scraping the sponge against it harshly as you try not to look at him, which turns out to be just another challenge – he inches closer to you, breathing down your neck and staring at you. You throw the sponge down and reach for the lever, not noticing the way his eyes widen a little or how he reaches his hand out.
“Wait careful with t–” he gets cut off by the water that starts streaming from the broken lever.
“Fuck!” You curse loudly, followed by a gasp when the cold water sprinkles all over your neck and your chest, you throw the plate into the sink and reach for the lever again but Steve grabs your hand, not letting you turn it off the way you want to, he is trying to move to it into a different direction, it only confuses you even more and his touch doesn’t help either.
“Hold still!” Steve snaps at you.
Your whole chest is already wet from all the water you have been hit with and his angry voice irritates you.
“Why don’t you get drenched huh!?”
With a loud sigh, he lets go and you almost start raging. You lean forward, grabbing the lever with both hands when you suddenly feel him behind you, his chest against your back, his whole body pressed against yours as he reaches his arms around you, placing his both hands on top of yours, the water now getting all over the both of you as his now wet fingers handle the broken lever.
You hear his groan as the water hits him in the face when he leans over your shoulder and he grips your hand tighter.
And then, the water stops sprinkling and the only sound that continues to fill the room is the rain that still rolls down the windows and your heavy breathing.
Your chest is rising up and down heavily and so is his, you can feel it against your back, and you can feel his breath on your neck and your shoulder, and you now feel it all by tenfold, thanks to your wet skin, it sends chills all over. You can still feel his hands on top of yours, his much bigger hands that cover yours fully. Your eyes are glued on them and the way their fingers trace your own for a very short moment.
Your heart is beating so wildly in your chest that you fear that he might hear it.
You can feel the water dripping down your shoulder, not the one from your hair but the water from his face.
Despite the nervousness in your chest, you slowly pull your hands away and turn around to face him, only for a gasp threatening to fall from your lips when you notice how close he actually is, how close he had never been before, not even in Joyce’s kitchen, last week. Your chest is almost pressed against his, his face only inches away, lips so close that you can feel his breath on yours. You’re surprised when he doesn’t move his hands away, letting them fall on the counter and your sides.
His hazel eyes stare into yours so intensely that it almost knocks the breath out of you, the look in them making you feel hot all over your body that you don’t even feel the cold water seeping through your white shirt any longer.
Strands of his hair hang in front of his eyes, water dripping from them and rolling down his cheek, your eyes follow the drops that lead to his lips, making you gulp when you catch yourself wondering what it would feel like to kiss him or even just to touch his lips with your fingers – you dig your nails into your wet palms.
You don’t even notice how Steve grips the edges of the counter so tightly to the point that his knuckles turn white, but you notice the way his eyes move down to your chest and to your now see-through shirt, the lacy black bra being on full display now… almost.
You are both breathing heavily, still, whether it’s because of the shock or something else now – you feel the tension, it’s so heavy, heavier than before and it’s making your insides churn in a way that weakens you.
Neither of you say anything, you are too busy staring at each other, you are too busy wanting him more and more.
This is not enough.
How could this ever be enough?
You have always wanted this, to be this close, to feel his touch, to find out what it’s like to kiss him, to feel him.
This isn’t fair… This isn’t fair to you. Because this is only making things so much harder for you.
You know you have to snap out of it, even when he makes no move to pull away, to stop staring, to let go of the counter and step away from your body.
You have to snap out of it or else you will do something that you will regret for the rest of your life.
You swallow the lump in your throat, you ignore the beating of your heart, you ignore the shakiness in your hands and you blink as you tilt your head up, looking back into his eyes again.
“Lego head,” you whisper shakily, “the water stopped.”
He snaps out of his stupor, blinking and clearing his throat as he averts his gaze.
He steps away and you make a move to escape this, to escape him but neither of you have noticed just how messy the situation has actually gotten – the water didn’t just sprinkle all over the both of you, it soaked the ground beneath your feet, making the tiles slippery enough for you to lose control and almost take the fall. Almost.
A gasp tears from your lips when Steve’s hand grabs at your waist and the other reaches for the counter behind you again. Out of instinct, you lift your hand and grab his arm to hold onto him, steadying him as well as he slipped too. He lets go of your waist, gripping the counter with both hands just like he did seconds ago, caging you in completely. He isn’t only close anymore, he is pressed against you completely – his chest flush against yours, his nose bumping into yours causing you to let out another soft gasp.
And then, you both freeze again.
You blink. He blinks. Neither of you make a move.
He looks down at your lips, causing your heart to skip so strongly that you feel it in your whole chest and even your throat.
“Shit, Blondie.”
His voice is so low and deep that it makes you shudder, your blood rushing to more than just your face now.
“I didn’t know you were such a clutz,” he murmurs, shakily as his eyes get stuck on your chest again.
He is nervous, just like you are, you can tell by the sound of his voice.
You stare at him, struggling to find your words.
How can you when he looks at you that way?
As you stand there, caged in by his strong arms, staring up at the man that is much taller and bigger than you, something that makes him all the more attractive, you feel yourself not only longing for his heart but also his body… on top of yours. His much bigger hands on your bare body, his lips on your skin, him inside of you… You are fucked. You are so utterly and completely fucked.
Steve Harrington could do anything with you, and he is not even aware of the powers he holds over you.
Footsteps echo through the hallway, causing yours and his eyes to widen and he quickly pulls away from you, careful not to slip again. You pull your hands back, now holding onto the counter yourself.
Eddie and Robin come rushing into the room just as Steve steps far enough away from you.
They both halt in their tracks, gasping at the sight of the two of you all soaked from the water. They stare with wide eyes before they turn to look at each other, holding back only for two seconds before they burst into laughter.
You’re not sure if the sight is really that funny or if they’re just high enough to laugh about anything.
Eddie bends over, holding his stomach as he continues laughing while pointing between the two of you, Robin holding onto his shoulder as her giggles sound through the kitchen.
You press your lips together and clench your jaw as you look over at Steve, who nods at the both of them with an annoyed look on his face.
“What the hell happened!?” Eddie asks through his laughter.
His voice snaps you out from the daze you were just in… and thank god.
With a glare, you keep your eyes on Steve, “this fucker didn’t tell me that his sink was jammed and that a little bit of a force can break the lever.”
Steve groans, though not looking at you, he wipes his face as he steps away, “right, blame it on me for your sudden force.”
He walks out of the kitchen, brushing past Eddie and Robin who stop laughing when he gives them a deadly glare, the one you’re throwing at his back as he leaves to go upstairs, probably to get changed while you stand there with your soaked shirt.
You carefully step away from the puddle of water in front of you, making your way over to the kitchen island to grab some of the napkins. You dry your face off first, not even bothering with your shirt.
Despite their amused faces, your friends walk over to you, wanting to help.
“Damn,” Eddie mumbles as he grabs a napkin, he gives you a smirk, “who got you this wet, Sweetheart?”
You raise your head up, glaring at your best friend who starts chuckling again.
“This is porn material right there,” Eddie wiggles his eyebrows at you as he points at your white shirt, but he is not even looking, even though your bra is very visible through the material now – what a gentleman.
Robin chuckles, “should’ve kept the bra off, babe.”
Your jaw drops as you stare at them with a stunned expression on your face, “pervs!”
Robin keeps on chuckling as she walks over the cabinets, searching for clean kitchen towels. Eddie steps closer to you, patting your face dry with the napkins, which only makes you giggle when his brows knit together in concentration.
Eddie’s eyes flash with amusement as he keeps pressing the napkin against your cheek, shaking his head at your laughter.
“What’s so funny, smiley?”
You snort at the nickname, and open your mouth to reply when Steve walks back into the room, his face now dry, hair still wet but no longer dripping. He’s wearing a different shirt now and he holds towels and a sweater in his hands, halting in his tracks, he looks between you and Eddie – his eyes flash with something that you can’t read, his face hardens and he clenches his jaw, you don’t know why but the expression causes your laughter to die down.
“Here,” Steve mumbles, tearing his gaze away from the both of you, he looks at the ground as he makes his way over to you, “those napkins won’t do much.”
He hands you the towels and then his sweater.
“And take your shirt off, Blondie,” he orders, “you can wear my sweater.”
Your chest warms at his words and your heart flutters, and it only makes you feel irritated – this means nothing, this isn’t special, you aren’t special. He’d give his sweater to anyone under these circumstances.
“Thanks,” you mumble as you put the sweater on the counter, using the soft white towel to dry yourself off first.
Eddie steps away from you, throwing the napkin into the trash before he makes his way over to Steve’s snack drawer, completely ignoring the puddle of water.
“Dude, you could clean this up,” Robin mumbles, pointing at the mess on the floor.
Eddie scrunches his nose up, “why don’t you clean it up?”
Steve rolls his eyes at them, “I got this, I’ll clean it up.”
Eddie starts rummaging through the drawer, picking out snacks as Robin turns around to look at you, and at Steve who stares at you with his hands on his hips.
The shirt sticks to your body uncomfortably, goosebumps litter your skin from the cold water that seeps through the thin material, you want it off immediately.
You take the sweater, still holding the towel close against your chest, you look up at Steve, “I’m gonna go change…”
He nods, “yeah, you can uh… use the bathroom downstairs or mine, whatever you want.”
You ignore the burning in your cheeks, the pounding in your heart as you brush past him and leave the kitchen, making your way into the bathroom. Your friend’s chatter fades away as you close the door behind you, locking it, a shaky sigh falls from your lips as you press your back against it. You close your eyes, giving yourself a moment to just breathe.
What the hell just happened?
With shaky legs, you walk towards the sink, dropping the towel and the sweater on the counter before you finally take a look in the mirror, only to gasp when you see just how much you can actually see through your shirt. You grow flustered knowing that Steve could see you like this.
You groan in embarrassment, reaching for the hem of your shirt, you peel it off your body, replacing it with his sweater – something that fills you with warmth the moment the soft material touches your skin, your heart skips a beat when you look back at your reflection, taking in the sight of his sweater on your body.
You swallow the lump in your throat, distracting yourself by fixing your hair – you won’t let your mind go there, you won’t let yourself think too deeply about anything. This is just a sweater. And yet, your heart won’t stop racing and you can’t deny how such a small thing can make you feel so… comforted.
When you return into the kitchen, you find it empty, the water puddle on the floor already gone but the dirty plates are still in the sink – you surely won’t risk getting wet again. You turn around and make your way over into the living room, where Eddie and Robin are back in their previous positions, snacking on Doritos.
Steve is lying on the couch with his arm behind his back, the remote in his hand as he flips through the channels.
You tug at the sleeves of his sweater, suddenly feeling shy as you walk into the room, wearing something of his.
You don’t look at him as you walk past him, you also don’t look at him as you sit down on the couch, all that you’re focused on is the pounding in your heart and the nervousness that you still feel after everything that happened minutes ago.
You don’t notice the way he freezes when he takes a look at you, the way he stops flipping through the channels, the way his cheeks flush red when he looks at the sweater on your body – he knows that the only thing underneath the blue sweater of his, is a black, lacy bra and it makes him feel… flustered.
He sees the way you tug at the hem of his sweater when it rides up, pulling your short skirt along, he sees the way you bite down on your lip, he sees the way you glance at him nervously and suddenly Steve feels his blood rushing south.
He swore to himself that he would never do what he did last week, and he really tried to resist you.
But how can he?
How can he resist when you so clearly are doing it too now?
Or is he reading the signs wrong?

Maki Zenin!reader x Class 1-A.
Tumblr media
-When UA received word that they would be getting a new student, at first there was nothing out of the ordinary, just normal questions on if it was a boy, a girl, what their quirk was, and things like that.
-It was when someone found out that the new student was completely quirkless and going into Class 1-A, the Hero Program, that the school became very loud!
-How was this possible? How could someone with no quirk join the Hero Program?!
-When you walked in, being introduced to your new classmates, holding what looked to be a kendo sword case over your shoulder, you smiled, your eyes behind your glasses were scanning the room, “Nice to meet you all, I’m Y/N!”
-Instantly the room was alight with shouts, the students all asking you questions, wanting to know how you got into the program, and wanting to know if it was true that you really didn’t have a quirk.
-You weren’t bothered by not having a quirk, you grew up that way, your family made sure to never let you forget it, and you grinned, your hand coming to your hip, “I don’t have one, but I can handle things.”
-Bakugo sneered at you, looking down his nose, thinking you were beneath him, “Oh~ and what makes you so sure of that?” you showed no fear, looking down your own nose at him, “I know I can beat you, blondie.”
-Everyone was gawking, completely stunned, seeing you not only talking back to Bakugo, but talking down to him as well.
-Aizawa kept Bakugo from attacking you, but you didn’t seem bothered as he was screaming at you, wanting to put you in your place for being so arrogant, despite him also being arrogant.
-You very quickly proved that you were not to be underestimated that afternoon in training class, showing your wide range of weapons, and showing that you could absolutely handle them all, Bakugo included.
-It was almost intimidating, seeing how someone without a quirk could handle a whole class of students, training to be heroes, with ease, as you showcased your combat skills. Even Aizawa was impressed with your skills!
-After you proved that you did belong, Bakugo did back off, and you could say that the two of you were friends, but you were both constantly throwing snark at each other.
-Deku was elated to meet someone who was quirkless, wanting to know how you got so strong, as he felt a kinship with you, being the same as you, only up until a short while ago.
-You told him, almost like he was interviewing you, about your family, who was a very prestigious family and when you were found to have no quirk, they deemed you worthless, and to prove yourself, you trained endlessly, working with any weapon you could get your hands on, and in the end, your hard work had paid off.
-You were well liked in your class, you came off a bit blunt at times, but your heart was always in the right place, and you were willing to train with others.
-However, they also learned you could be very scary, Denki and Mineta learned this lesson personally, when they tried to flip your skirt up, using an underhanded technique.
-Aizawa just stood there as they ran by, screaming for help as you charged by, a red glint in your eye, fully intent on making them pay for disrespecting you.
-Other students, once they knew you were quirkless, wouldn’t hesitate to make rude comments, not caring if you heard, about how unfair it was that someone like you got into the coveted Hero Program. You weren’t really bothered, basically because you knew you could beat them in a fight, and it wasn’t anything new.
-Your classmates, however, weren’t so kind, as several of them, led by Bakugo, wouldn’t hesitate to put the fear of God into these worthless side characters (Bakugo’s words not yours) and threaten them for making such cruel comments.
-When Momo made sure to check on you, all of them coming over after they chased the bullies off, you couldn’t help but smile, “You guys didn’t have to do that. It’s more fun when I prove that I belong by beating them- like how I did you guys.”
-Bakugo was instantly shouted, being held back by Kirishima, “Oi what was that you-” you chose to ignore him, finding his anger amusing as you turned, flashing a warm smile, “But thanks!”
-Your classmates were surprised, but many couldn’t help but laugh, chasing after you as you laughed, enjoying teasing them.

you had just came back home from work, exhausted as always having to close for the fourth time this week. pulling up to park your car at your assigned apartment parking space only to see a u-haul truck taking it up “are you fucking with me..” you had mumbled to yourself before turning on your emergency lights and got out to see who took your spot.
a blonde girl came walking down the stairs of the complex, sweat seeping through her fitted shirt as she came by to pick up more things in the truck, you had walked up to her with her arms crossing your chest “excuse me, you’re parked in my spot.” you tried not to sound so bitchy but you were already so irritated with work.
“no need for the attitude, i’m almost done.” her brow raised up giving you an annoyed look already “i- what? i didn’t give you an attitude— i’ll just wait for you to be done.” you almost proved her right then just decided to get back in your car and wait for her to move.
it had been at least twenty minutes and there was no sign of her moving the damn truck, you decided to just park on the street storming you way back, the cold dark weather not making it any better. walking up the stairs to your apartment you saw a welcoming doormat on what was supposed to be an empty apartment next door, the clues forming in your head.
knocking on the new girls door repeatedly until it finally flung open “what— oh, it’s you” she had a headset around her neck, licking her lips in annoyance “my parking spot? move your shit by tomorrow or—“ “or what?” she cut you off as she leaned against her door frame with her muscular arms crossed across her chest “or i’m gonna get your shit towed blondie” scoffing at her cockiness before opening the door to your home and slamming it shut.
— —
you couldn’t sleep all night with your new neighbor making so much ruckus it drove you mad, her tv blasting, furniture moving around, her constantly going in n out of her place. rolling out of bed you were contemplating if you should strangle her or not for not letting you have a peaceful slumber.
hearing a pretty loud knock on your door you spit out the toothpaste, dragging your feet on over to open your door “oh god— what do you want” you rolled your eyes at her already agitated with her presence “you gotta stick up your ass or something? i wanted to know if i could barrow a drill or something” your tongue rolled against your cheek before you let her inside.
“i don’t have many tools but..” you bent down to open your bottom cabinet in your kitchen “i have these” you pulled out a small girly tool box that made her actually laugh out loud “a pink tool box?” she opened it to see if it was to any use “keep up that attitude and you’re leaving without any tools” she shot her hands up in defense “thank you neighbor” she grabbed the tools, right before she left you chimed in a question “why would you move here?” the question seemed to tense her up, her jaw clenching and her shoulders stiffened.
“uh- thanks for the tools” she shut your door behind her.

Hi, I was wondering if you know what music John was a fan of in the late 70’s? I’m aware of him being excited about the B52’s, and I’m assuming he liked David Bowie and Elton John’s music in part because they were his friends in addition to obviously being talented. And I think I read once that Julian turned him onto Queen but tbh that may be me misremembering a fanfic lol I just wonder if there’s anything out there that describes what John’s music tastes was in those days or whether he preferred to stick with his favorite classics; early rock and roll, girl groups ect. Like what did he think about the punk scene in NY?? Or the close harmonies a la Fleetwood Mac that dominated the charts? Just things I think about haha.
Hi, thanks for the question. I know that I skipped through a book called John Lennon: 1980 playlist by Tim English before, that may be a good source for you. Here's some random info, that I remembered where to look up. I think Julian introducing John to Queen comes from the SPIN magazine interview in '75:
[Julian] likes Barry White and he likes Gilbert O’ Sullivan. He likes Queen, though I haven’t heard them yet. He turns me on to music. I call him and he says, “Have you heard Queen?” and I say “No, what is it?” I’ve heard of them. I’ve seen the guy … the one who looks like Hitler playing a piano … Sparks? I’ve seen Sparks on American TV. So I call him and say, “Have you seen Sparks? Hitler on the piano?” and he says, “No. They are alright. But have you seen Queen?” and I say “What’s Queen?” and then he tells me. His age group is hipper to music … at 11 I was aware of music, but not too much.
But then there is also an anecdote, I think by Tony Barrow, that John didn't want to sign Queen to Apple years earlier? However that may be a lie, or John just didn't remember.
Yoko gifted John a jukebox for his birthday in '78 and apparently John filled it with the old music he liked. Elliott Mintz says there was quite some Bing Crosby. And I remember John also putting some new song by Dolly Parton in there.
"Yoko gave him this old-fashioned jukebox and John stocked it with Bing Crosby records. People kind of expected him to have rock 'n' roll records in there, but it was almost totally Crosby stuff. There were 3 songs which John played over and over. I still remember them. They were Crosby with a jazz quartet from the 50's, I think. He would banter and talk in the songs and John thought that was just the end. The songs were Whispering, I'm Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself a Letter and Dream a Little Dream of Me. Yeah, those were the songs, I can still see John listening to them." - Elliott Mintz
“The one modern song I remember him listening to was ‘The Tide Is High’ by Blondie, which he played constantly. When I hear that song, I see my father, unshaven, his hair pulled back into a ponytail, dancing to and fro in a worn-out pair of denim shorts, with me at his feet, trying my best to coordinate tiny limbs.” - Sean Lennon
One night we were playing at Max's (Kansas City) in New York City, and I was waiting for everyone to leave the club so I could go back in and pick up my gear. We were sitting in the van waiting and John Lennon and Ian Hunter from Mott the Hoople came staggering out and looked over. John Lennon saw it was me and stuck his head in the window. He was kind of drunk and stuck his face right against mine and went 'yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah' because he recognized it (Devo's song Uncontrollable Urge) as being an updating of She Loves You. That was one of my most exciting moments ever. - Mark Mothersbaugh on John coming to a DEVO gig in '77
PB: John, what is your opinion of the newer waves? Lennon: I love all this punky stuff. It's pure. I'm not, however, crazy about the people that destroy themselves. Playboy interview, 1980
I like pop records. I like Olivia Newton-John singing "Magic" and Donna Summer whatever the hell she'll be singing. I like ELO singing "All over the World". I can dissect it and criticize it with any critic in the business...But without any thought I enjoy it! That's the kind of music I like to hear. - John
John Lennon raced into Yoko Ono’s home office in the mammoth old Dakota building with a copy of Donna Summer’s new single, “The Wanderer.” “Listen!” he shouted to us as he put the 45 on the record player. “She’s doing Elvis!” I didn’t know what he was talking about at first. The arrangement felt more like rock than the singer’s usual electro-disco approach, but the opening vocal sure sounded like Donna Summer to me. Midway through the song, however, her voice shifted into the playful, hiccuping style Elvis had used on so many of his early recordings. “See! See!” John shouted, pointing at the speakers. The record was John’s way of saying hello again after five years. [...] It was just weeks before his death in December of 1980, and his playing the Summer record was an endearing greeting -- and one that was typical of John. Of the hundreds of musicians I’ve met, John was among the most down-to-earth. Corn Flakes with John Lennon (And Other Tales From a Rock ‘n’ Roll Life) by Robert Hilburn
"I'm aware of ... Madness. "Don't do that. Do this." (As on the spoken word intro to "One Step Beyond".) I think that is the most original thing actually because it's so peculiar. ... Out of all that mob I think that was one of the most original sounds. Very good drumming, very good bass and all of that." Andy Peebles interview
And things I don't have quotes for right now: I remember Bob Gruen had given John some video compilation of punk bands, that John enjoyed watching. In one of the last interviews John said Hungry Heart by Bruce Springsteen was a great song. There are the albums John asked Fred Seaman to buy on his shopping lists. Some are printed in The John Lennon Letters (Though I'm not sure that means he liked them, but at least was interested in.) Lot's of Bob Dylan talk in the diaries and parodies. Many anecdotes about reggae bands. In the Double Fantasy studio recording John references quite some songs and artists, when he tells the musicians what they are aiming for in the songs.

Vash
He was absolutely scared out of his mind when he first saw the ink appear on his skin. He even went as far as to try to scrub his skin raw, and the ink was still fresh as ever. Poor blondie is wondering how the hell something like this is happening.
Meanwhile, you’re doodling like there’s no tomorrow with your ballpoint pen, tracing the outlines of your veins and doodling smiling faces.
Over time, Vash learns to just accept the random appearance and disappearance of drawings across his body. At the end of the day, it’s like a fun little game to see what’s been sketched on him underneath his turtle neck.
It takes a while for Vash to realize that it’s his soulmate doodles appearing on his skin. Warmth floods his heart each time he thinks of this, causing him to lovely trace the marks across his own skin.
He would laugh sometimes at the sudden ink smear appearing on his skin before new sketch marks appeared, your work hypnotizing him. He especially loved when you used different colors, almost painting his skin like a canvas. Eventually, he makes the move to respond.
So imagine your surprise when you find a poorly drawn flower appear on your skin. Ensue the same panic Vash experienced when you remembered you didn’t draw that.
Tumblr media
Wolfwood
Scrubbing his skin did nothing. Seeing the scripture on his forearm made him wonder if he had perhaps gotten too drunk the night before and had gotten a tattoo.
The fancy calligraphy was choice, especially with that proverb. For the lips of the adulterous woman drop honey, and her speech is smoother than oil. Wolfwood decided that there could be worse things etched into his skin from that old religion.
You, on the other hand, were giggling to yourself. Oh, the irony of something appearing to beautiful but naughty. A snort escapes from one of your nearby friends.
He didn’t put anymore thought into it until the next day when the ink disappeared. Lowkey, thought he was super dehydrated for him to imagine that, but nope, even after drinking tons of water, the ink was no longer on his skin.
Cue some praying. He nearly has a heart attack when more ink appears on his skin. He has to go back to the orphanage and ask the elders for help on understanding the situation. Turns out it’s a soulmate thing, one which they didn’t even bother to mention until now.
Overtime, he appreciates the calligraphy he appears on his skin, particularly when new motifs appear. Wolfwood liked seeing you test new things and watch as the ink appear on his skin.
However, he was very glad to wear long sleeves when you would write down a particularly dirty proverb like 5:19. He would always end up blushing a bright red like a tomato, a huge contrast to his normal, stoic personality.
Imagine, your surprise when you notice fresh ink on your skin. For your ways are in the full view of the LORD in basic script.
Tumblr media
Knives
He almost didn’t see the script appear on his arms, the ink nearly blending into his suit and pale skin. His fingers traced the letters he could make out. Knives immediately knew what this meant, it was his soulmate reaching out- most likely not knowing what was happening.
He tried to ignore it the best he could and kept himself covered with his cloak. Having someone would just drag him down, make it harder to reach his goal of eradicating humanity. However, his curiosity got the best of him.
Taking another look, the bleach blond quickly recognized the letters as chords with their denoted accidentals. Luckily for him, he new how to play. It was child’s play, really.
Meanwhile, your trying to understand how to play different songs only by listening too them. You were too stubborn to look them up, very confident in your ability.
And so it became a pattern for him to decipher your song you had written on his arm. He would spend hours playing the piano, watching the notes on his arm be crossed out and replaced. The composition rarely stayed imprinted on his skin for longer than a day.
Often, Knives would see lyrics being written with the chords. A little artist are we now? His small joke to himself caused a small smile. He would end up humming them, his low voice cutting through the air. It was for the sake of rhythm, he told himself.
Imagine your surprise when you saw a new. mark you knew you hadn’t inscribed into your skin, a word marked out for another.

Now Billy Hargrove was definitely the type to whip through the empty Indiana backroads, California had taken its toll on him. He just had never been the type to speed because a girl had called his house after his late shift at work claiming that she needed him. But this wasn’t just any girl. It was you.
So, now here he was, speeding down some hick backroad, blaring Def Leppard loud enough to piss off the Hawkins nightlife, and praying that his locker room shower had been enough to rid him of the sickly chlorine smell from the pool.
And Billy had been so antsy recently. He’d kissed you, in retrospect that wasn’t really the worst thing that he had done to you, but he couldn’t think of that either. Not when he was driving forty over the speed limit and this town was known for kids going on late night bike rides.
It’d been weeks since then and he could still hear the sounds you made and taste you on his tongue. You acted none the wiser, you stayed exactly as you were with him. “Best friends” you’d like to remind him. Max had a field day when she heard you call him that, asking briskly if you’d be braiding his hair at your next sleepover.
He remembered scowling at your mischievous grin and the way you waggled your eyebrows at her comment. He also remembered having to excuse himself to his room at the thought of your hands tugging at his hair again.
His hands tensed against the steering wheel as he turned onto your street.
Billy’s frustration had been manifesting itself in the worst possible way recently, he was almost constantly hard. It was becoming increasingly more difficult to hang out at your house. Especially when you’d wear less and less with the warming weather, last weekend, you had only worn his shirt to bed and panties that he hadn’t secretly stolen yet.
He parked down the street, not so far that he couldn’t see your house, but far enough that he could sneak through your backyard without catching any attention to himself. His fingers were cold when he ran them over his face and he tugged down the front of his jeans to relieve some of the pressure before swinging open the car door.
Billy stalked through your yard, trying to be hasty and cussing at himself when he tripped over his own feet.
It was dark and he followed the light from your bedroom window. He could see you through the window, looking at your own reflection in your mirror and mouthing the words to what he thinks might be a Blondie song.
He knocked against the glass, snorting to himself when you jump and turn to look at him. He sees your eyes roll and a heartless attempt at fighting off the grin that catches your cheek.
You’re already reprimanding him before you even finish pulling the window open.
“I told you to come in through the front door, Hargrove.”
He’s quick to the punch when he replies, “You also told me that it was an emergency.”
Your jaw drops in a scoff and you turn as he pulls himself into your room.
“It was an emergency,” Billy’s eyes look over you quizzically and he quirks his eyebrow at you. “Really,” you offer, your arms push out in front of you and you twiddle your thumbs, “I’m home alone and I am in need of emergency company so I don’t freak myself out.”
His expression doesn’t change, “You’re such a princess.”
“How dare you!” Your hand lightly swatted at him and despite the glare that you shoot at him, you both end up laughing at each other.
A new dance had occurred in your friendship, one that made the line between friends and more than friends muddy. One that made the hand that you swatted him with squeeze his bicep before running down the length of his arm and grabbing his hand. Your fingers laced with his and you tugged him towards you a bit.
“Are you gonna stay tonight?”
Billy looked over your face, smirking to himself. “I always stay with you. You made me promise that we were friends.”
“I didn’t make you, you just did because it’s true and you can’t live without me.”
His dimple began to show, but he didn’t say anymore. He instead lead you to your bed and had you sit while he turned on the television. He flicked through the vhs tapes that sat beside it, picking a movie and starting it before coming to set beside you.
His boots thudded as he kicked them off onto the floor. And he lifted himself a bit so that he could flip the light switch.
You liked how comfortable he was able to get with you now, how you hoped that he felt more at home with you than with anyone else. In the new darkness, you felt him cuddle in beside you.
The movie started slowly and unfortunately wasn’t doing its job at catching your attention. From your laying position, your eyes trailed around the room. Nothing took interest until you saw Billy’s hand. His fingers were lazily thrumming against the wooden foot of your bed and every now and again his middle and pointer finger would draw a circle before thrumming again.
Your mind drifted back to his mouth and fingers working in tandem against you and you felt your face grow hot. Warmth had begun to fill your stomach and you gave an experimental squeeze of your thighs.
Billy noticed the movement and moved his free hand to rest on one of the ankles that you had unceremoniously thrown into his lap once you both got comfortable. His thumb grazed over the skin there and you felt goosebumps prickle your skin.
The inner turmoil began to reach its head.
“Billy.”
His head turned to you before his eyes did, trying to catch just a few more seconds of what was on the screen. When he caught your gaze, you felt your breath stutter and your words fail.
“Have you-,” you stopped, contemplating the next few words that were looming in your mind, “Have you thought about that night?”
He pretended not to know, tilting his head despite the fact that his hands had gone entirely still. “Which night?”
“The night that you dug through my bedside drawer.” He continued to play coy, “The night that you fucked me with your mouth, William.”
Billy’s hand tensed on your ankle, he didn’t look at your face but he nodded in response. You took that as a good enough answer.
“Have you ever thought about doing more?”
His snapped over to your face and his eyebrows furrowed, “What do you mean?”
You tried to calm your racing thoughts, you wanted to sound more composed than you felt.
“You’re my best friend,” that was a start, he squinted at you, “you’re my best friend and I trust you more than anyone. And, I don’t know, Billy. I’ve been thinking about that night and how it made me feel.”
Billy only nodded in response, you could tell that he was in his thoughts. Debating on what he’d say when you finished your little speech.
You wanted to deflect, you knew Billy really wasn’t going to spill his guts in some over the top “chick-flick” gesture. You’d already caught acknowledgment of his fondness for you, and it usually didn’t come easily.
“It’d be a lot easier to get off without all the extra strings, and you were right about the toy,” Billy grinned in spite of himself, he’d never give up the opportunity to be right. “It’s also easier than getting a boyfriend or you being at risk of getting cooties,” he pinched your skin at that.
“I won’t get cooties and you won’t get a boyfriend if you keep hanging around me.”
“I know,” you agreed gently, “You’d get too jealous over me.”
Billy didn’t bother disagreeing with you, but his hand teased closer to your kneecap. He opened his mouth to speak, but ran his tongue over his teeth instead. His free hand swiped over his hair, “What exactly are you suggesting, Princess?”
You sat up, your hands moving to fiddle with his fingers that rested on your knee, “A mutually beneficial part two, I guess.”
“You want us to fuck each other,” Billy deadpanned.
“But I don’t want to ruin our friendship!”
It looked like he was mulling it over and you could feel his hips shift from beneath your legs. His smirk was primal, when he moved his face closer to yours, “You coulda told me that you wanted me to fuck you.”
You let go of his hand in favor of reaching up to his jaw, your thumb teased his lower lip. “I did, and you chose to use this pretty mouth on me.”
His pupils were blown and you could feel a new pressure against the back of your legs, but he still felt the need to stick his tongue out and lick your finger that rested on him.
Your thumb slipped higher, the pad of it pressing against his lower teeth, you could feel his light panting when he nipped at the skin. He was already glancing down to your lips by the time you asked if he was going to kiss you again.
“Do you want me to?” Billy wanted to hear it, for real this time. He wanted to know that you wanted to kiss him, that you wanted him pressed against you in every way.
“Please kiss me, Billy.”
He maneuvered himself so quickly that it made you breathless. Your thighs hooked over his hips and his arm under your lower back held you in an arch while he rolled against you.
Billy’s lips met yours in a bruising press and he waited for you to gasp to sweep his tongue into your mouth. Your hands tucked into his hair, earning a pleased groan from him.
You could feel the heat growing in your belly again, more so when Billy kissed down the side of your throat, stopping to nibble and suck at the skin there. He knew you’d be pissed at all the dark marks, but he never left them on anyone else regardless of how much he loved to see them.
“Lemme strip,” you huffed as he furthered his trail downward. He nodded, helping to pull you upwards into his lap so that you could take your shirt off. His eyes locked down on your chest and his hands raised to swipe and grope you over the cups.
“You too, Bill. It’s not mutual if I’m the only one without clothes.”
Billy grumbled out what sounded like an apology to your chest before he pecked one of your newly pebbled nipples and laid you back down onto the bed. You rested on your elbows so that you could watch him take his clothes off.
His fingers fumbled with his belt before he looked at you through his lashes, “Are you sure about this?”
You wanted to snip at him, something that would fit your playful banter with him, but you couldn’t. You were serious, you didn’t want him to question how you viewed him.
You sat up and replaced his hands with yours over his belt, you couldn’t look into his eyes when you said this. “Billy, I’m really sure. I know you’re gonna take care of me better than anyone in this stupid town. And I’m going to take care of you, right? It’s better than toys and better than fucking around with randoms.” Your fingers worked deftly with the belt, “We’re better for each other than anyone, really.” The sentence was punctuated with the snap of the belt being pulled from the loops.
Billy grinned like a cheshire cat as he kicked free of his pants and boxers. You held his eye contact, instead of looking down at him. He could tell that you were trying to maintain your composed air, he knew that he’d break you out it.
“Lean back,” he instructed while his fingers pressed against the top of your shoulder. When your back was laid flat, he rubbed his hands up over your thighs and gave testing squeezes to your hips and to the sides of your belly before undoing the button of your jeans and tugging them down your legs.
Billy stared down at you, lightly smacking the outside of your thigh so that you’d spread open more for him.
“Those are my favorites of yours,” he praised, his index finger pressing into your core over the black lace of your panties. He could feel how wet you were through the fabric and he felt his cock jump at the thought of what he’d get to do to you.
You whined as he applied more pressure. “I know they are,” your hips shifted so that he pull your panties down your legs, “I had to steal them back from your house.”
Your legs fell back open and Billy stood to admire the view. His fingers swiped through your folds and you hissed when his middle and ring fingers dipped into you. He curled and thrusted his fingers into you just until you started to rut your hips into his palm.
You nearly growled at him when he pulled his fingers from you, opting to pop them into his mouth and suck them clean. “I knew you were a fucking tease.”
He glared down at you, before grabbing your thighs and pulling you to him. “Quit bitching,” he huffed as he rubbed the tip of himself against you, “I gotta make nice with her before I fuck her.”
Billy’s shallow thrust into you knocked the words out of your throat, replacing it with a pitiful whimper. He gently shushed at you, rubbing his hands over your thighs and trying to steady his breathing. He leaned into you as he bottomed out, pressing your chests together and nuzzling his nose against the side of your cheek while he breathed hard through his nose.
You could feel the slight burn of how he stretched you in such a satisfying way, he was right, your toy had nothing on him. Your hips shifted and he let out a low pitched hum, “Billy, please.”
“Please what, baby?” He managed to tease.
His gaze lifted to yours and he watched your brows pinch together when he gave a slow roll of his hips.
You pouted up at him, clenching yourself on him to spur him to move. “Fuck me, Billy, please.”
“Awe,” he cooed at you mockingly, before rutting into you and placing a deep kiss onto your mouth, “You’re such a pretty thing, with such pretty manners.”
You glared up at him, “Fuck y-,” you were cut off by a sharp yelp when he set his brutal pace. He pulled a pillow from the head of your bed and slid it under your hips while he pulled almost completely out before slamming his hips to yours.
You were nearly babbling in response to the filth that was dripping from Billy’s tongue in between his heady grunts and panting. He had drug your arms over your head to hold with his hand and was praising your pussy like it had been made for him.
“Such a perfect cunt,” Billy whined into the side of your neck, while moving his thumb to draw lazy patterns over your clit.
You loudly whined out when he asked you how you felt, “So good.” Billy’s ego inflated at how worn your voice sounded, “Billy, I feel so full.”
“Baby,” he purred easily, you keened at the petname, “tell me where you want me to cum or else you’re gonna feel way more full.”
You whined loudly at that, imagining Billy pressed against you, fucking his cum deeper into you and growling out his praises.
“Inside,” it sounded breathless, you could feel your walls fluttering around him and Billy had started pressing into the part of you that had your eyes rolling into the back of your head. “Cum inside me.”
“Thank god, Princess.”
He followed the same pattern, angling his his hips and earning high pitched moans from your pouted and opened lips. He leaned to kiss you and released your hands which you used to rake down his back. You nearly sobbed into his mouth as you felt yourself tense at the peak of release.
The stutter of his hips against yours had you both panting into each other’s mouths, riding out your highs together and desperately clinging onto one another as Billy seated his hips against yours to rub his pelvic bone against your clit while he pressed his cum into you.
You both hissed at the over sensitivity when he finally pulled out of you. He stared down in adoration as he watched his cum slip from where he’d pumped it so deeply into you. Your leg twitched to kick at him when his finger wiped up the lost cum and pushed it back into you.
Billy knelt down to pick up the scattered clothes and he pressed a kiss to the outside of your knee. “Do you wanna get a shower?” he asked, already heading towards your bedroom door. You lazily nodded at him and he slipped out of the door.
You could hear his footfalls in the nearly silent house and when the spray of water hit the tiles on the floor of the shower. You’d nearly dozed off by the time he came to bring you to the bathroom.
It was so intimate, already crossing the borders of your new agreement when he loosely pulled your hair up with a clip and helped you step into the shower. He stood in front of the spray so that you wouldn’t have to worry about being pelted and he used your shampoo on his hair and placed your favorite body wash into your opened hand.
Billy knew that he didn’t have to wipe his sudsy hands against your back or rub the muscles there, he knew that it was more than friendly but he also didn’t care about that. He’d take whatever you were willing to give him, even if it was only best friends with added benefits.

JayTim K-POP AU WIP
A plastic box gets shoved to his chest.
Only because he allows it, obviously, because the little gremlin of a brat is still several lifetimes away from being able to get a drop on him.
Though the demon spawn is also a picture of silence, lips pursed and shoulders tense where his fist extends to press whatever he bought on Jason’s pecs.
With a barely audible sigh, Jason peels that arm off to see what it was that demanded his attention so badly that the kid broke into one of the few safe-houses Jason thought was off the Bat-radar.
The answer is a thick box, covered with a glossy sleeve. On the cover are a group of five men piled on top of each other, composed artfully to look like a playful candid rather than an unfortunate accident. The only other thing on it is a logo stylized to look like a clock. Jason might be able to read where the lines form ‘SPF50’.
He sends Damian a blank look. The kid visibly heckles.
“Tt.” he starts, “This isn’t for me- I would like to emphasize that, for the record.”
Pause. Damian crosses his arms. “It’s Jon. He gave me an adequate birthday gift. It would be a dishonor to reciprocate with anything less.”
Jason replies to that with a hand gesture. What the hell does that have to do with him?
Damian looks at him like he’s rotten meat. Jason returns the glare twofold.
A frustrated groan. The kid almost swipes his arm back- like he was about to reach for his katana before realizing he’s out of costume. “Are you daft, Todd? I am asking for a favor. Name your price.”
“Yeah, Shrimp, I got that.” Jason bites back, “I’m just wonderin’ why the hell anythin’ related to this-“ he holds up the album, “-would be somethin’ I have an in with.”
Without missing a beat, Damian swipes back the album and pulls a card out from the middle to show him.
It’s a low angle selfie, cutting the pictured man off at the forehead. Stray locks, black with a blue-ish tint, fall just at the edge of the frame, and shadow a pair of striking blue eyes. Below that is a lopsided grin showing off a row of straight teeth. The rest of the picture is a swath of yellow- maybe a hoodie? Its laughably big though, dipping low enough to show the prominent curves of the man’s collarbones.
“This is why.” Damian says, before Jason could get a word in. “Your paramour, he’s Jon’s favorite in the group. He must be detestable if he has stooped low enough to romantically engage with you of all people, but nevertheless. Have him and his group sign this album and I will owe you one favor.”
“Huh.” Jason starts. Stops. Considers if he’s in the mood to start a fight. Sighs instead. “You’re outta luck, kid. I don’t know any of these guys.”
Damian’s eyes narrow. He steps forward in a stomp. “Don’t try and lie to me, Todd. Everyone has confirmed you are dating this idol. Agree to my terms before I am pushed to use force-Ow!”
Jason’s fingers moved to flick Damian’s forehead before he even registers that they did. “You can’t force me to do anythin’, Brat. I’ll send you back to your Mom.”
He flicks the other’s nose this time before he can respond, garnering another indignant squawk. “And two- just because you heard Blondie constantly yammerin’ about it doesn’t make it a public fact.”
Jason moves for the chin this time, but Damian has jumped away from striking range and looks a second away from hissing.
Jason would probably hiss back at him if he did. Something about this kid is just makes you want to mess with him.
But Damian seems to already be in retreat mode, sulkily skulking back to Jason’s fire escape with a deep scowl.
“Fine.” he says, right by the threshold of the apartment. “You prove yourself yet again useless. But just so you know Brown isn’t the only one talking- Father also suspects.”
And he’s gone just as Jason opens his mouth.
“Bruce?”

"Y/n! Wait up!" You heard a familiar voice from behind you. Turning your head, you saw your childhood, and only best friend, Gepard running towards you. For the past year , he's been sleeping in and making you wait for him every morning. At first you didn't have a problem with it until he started sleeping in way too much which nearly caused you to arrive to school late. You weren't dealing with angry teachers for your tardiness so you left without waiting for him.
The blondie finally caught up with you when you finally stopped at the cross walk. "You-You really gotten faster." He breathlessly said as you placed your hands on your hip.
→ "Maybe don't sleep in next time."
You say. The blonde stood up straight, nervously scratching the back of his head. "Apologies Y/n," he said,"I'll try not to keep you waiting."
→ "It's fine. I guess."
You said. Gepard smiled shortly at you before he looked to come to a sudden realization. "Oh Y/n! I almost forgot. Have you decided what club you want to be in for this year?" He asked.
You froze. It dawned on you that you promised Gepard to join a club this year, and you entirely forgot."Y/n? Don't tell me you're planning not to join one."
→ "Uhhhh- I was totally planning to join one. Just not now?"
You explained. You heard the blonde sighed, crossing his arms and shaking his head. "Y/n, you promised to join one this year. How can you get any friends when you constantly are playing on your phone ,and refusing to socialize?" He said, you rolled your eyes.
→ "Says you." You say. Gepard looked shocked and yet slightly red. "Well- I'm trying too and plus I've been able to make more friends ." He said.
→ "Uh huh, yeah sure. Say that when you have other people to sit with at lunch."
Gepard sighed. "Look, will you at least actually try to? Your happiness matters to me Y/n. I don't want to see you alone, and plus I want you to have others around you when I can't be." He said, causing you to sigh.
→ "Fine, I'll actually try. But I can't promise that I'll join one."
Gepard smiled. "I'm glad you're at least trying."
You felt a smile on your face. Seeing Gepard happy, made you feel happy too. He's been stressed with school and home so to put a smile on his face and his mind at ease was something you were proud and happy about.The nice moment was ruined of course when in the distance you both heard the school bell ring. Both of your eyes widened before immediately dashing towards the gate. Out of breath as you both managed to get to school before the gate closed. "I guess see you at lunch?" Gepard asked, wiping off a bit of sweat from his forehead. You nodded.You both waved bye before heading your separate ways.
-X -
The end of class bell rang as the day flew by. You were sitting at the back of the class of Bio when it rang. 'I should probably start looking at clubs now. *Ugh*I might as well start with the gaming club.' You were spacing out when you felt a tap on your shoulder. Instinctively you immediately went to hit whatever it was until you saw a familiar blonde with blue eyes male.
→ "Hey Gepard."
You said, relaxing a bit. "Hey Y/n, sorry to disturb you but I was gonna meet you outside but I saw you in here doing nothing alone." You looked around, seeing that you were the only one there, heck even the teacher was gone.
→" Oh-"
"So have you taken into consideration what club you wanted to join?" Gepard asked, helping you get your stuff.
→ "Not yet."
You lied, you were thinking about joining the gaming club. It was fun and would be less boring plus you don't think anyone would bother you anyways. It would more than likely be filled with introverts and nothing more but gaming challenges etc. "Then how about you join my club?" He smiled.
→ " Your club? What is your club even about?"
"Well it's the literature club-"
→"No."
You said with no hesitation. "Come on, it isn't that bad plus..." Gepard seemed nervous.
→ "Plus what?"
"I kind of promised everyone that I'd bring a new member.." He said, rubbing the back of his neck. Right then and there you wanted to facepalm yourself.
→ " That's a personal problem."
Gepard rolled his eyes.
"Come on, please Y/n. You don't have to join- Just at least give it a chance." He said, looking at you desperately. "Dan Heng already made tea and a tray of desserts for this." He continued.You looked at him at the mention of food and tea.
→ "Fine, I'll go see your club."
Gepard's face lit up. "Wait- Really?" He asked. You nodded. He smiled brightly the entire way you both went up to the fourth floor of the school.It was primarily used for storage and club activities, plus the teacher's lounge was located here too. You both walked until you reached the end of the hallway to which Gepard stopped at the room to the left. He looked back at you, probably checking to see if you were ready, before opening the doors.
The classroom had three bookshelves filled with many genres and a back closet. It seems to have 20 desks, a teacher's podium in the front with a whiteboard on the wall with a reminder. 'Festival is happening soon!' You were too busy looking around the room to pay any attention to the three insanely attractive men in front of you before Gepard spoke.
"Hey guys, I brought the new member!" He announced. Your head snapped at him.
→ "Don't call me the new member."
You muttered.
"Welcome to the club." You heard a voice say, you turned to see a black haired male with cameo blue eyes and two translucent turquoise horns. "Mhm..." Another black haired male hummed, the ends of his hair faded to a tint of red and his eyes were an orange red.
"Everyone, I want you to meet my friend, Y/n." Gepard said. "It's lovely to see you again." A familiar voice said. Immediately you turned to see the one and only perfect student, Jing Yuan warmly smiling at you. "Y/n meet Dan Heng, Blade, and I assume you already know Jing Yuan?" Gepard said, introducing everyone. Jing Yuan nodded."We are fairly acquainted already." He chuckled.
→ " We both had Mr. Svarog for homeroom last year right?"
You asked. "Indeed. I'm glad to see you taking interest in the Literature club.""I am as well, I'm Dan Heng by the way." Dan Heng said. The one you assumed to be Blade didn't say anything but simply stared at you. Then there was a high pitch whistle as Dan Heng immediately went to go get the tea.
"Please take a seat at the table Y/n." Gepard smiled. At the near back there was a table with four chairs. Blade then moved an extra chair before Gepard could and motioned for you to sit.You sat down beside Gepard as Dan Heng set tea cups in front of you all, pouring the perfect amount of tea with Blade setting down a tray of sweets and pastries.
-x-
"So tell me Y/n, what made you want to join our club?" Blade asked, obviously glaring at you. You glanced at Gepard, you already knew that if you told the truth he'd be in trouble so you came up with the only excuse you had.
-> "Well I was looking for something to occupy my mind for a while and Gepard seemed to enjoy this club so I wanted to give it a shot."
You lied, putting on the fakest smile you could. "Well I'm glad you decided to join us." Jing Yuan smiles at you again. You felt your face slightly heat up. Having one of the most attractive and popular boys smile at you so warmly and genuinely made you feel some time of way.
"It's nice to see you join, we've been trying to get others to join as well but they won't give it a chance." Jing Yuan said as Blade nodded. "I made this club with the intention of having others show and have their love for literature grow, to be able to express ourselves if that's easier to put it."
"Our goal is to make the Literature club popular before we graduate next year. "Mhm." Dan Heng hummed, taking a sip of the tea. Gepard nodded alongside Blade.Dang these guys seem to be serious about this club. "So what books do you read anyways?" Blade asked, still glaring at you.
→"Well I don't read a lot but the few I have were fantasy or adventure fiction, but a lot was fanfiction."
Dan Heng's head perked a bit at the topic but he didn't say anything.
→ "What about you Blade?"
Blade kept quiet before Jing Yuan spoke."He reads horror novels and books a lot. Some vampire ones too from the books I've seen him read once or twice." Immediately Blade glared at Jing Yuan, obviously not liking how he spoke for him. It was obvious from the moment you met Blade, he was a loner and probably someone who causes fights easily, yet to see someone with that kind of attitude about them read was kind of cute in a way.
"Oh- Dan Heng, I forgot to mention earlier but at the last meeting you seemed to forget your notebook." Jing Yuan spoke, before sliding a notebook with maple leaves on it to Dan Heng.
"Thank you Jing Yuan.." he said. "Isn't that the notebook you were writing that novel of yours in?" Gepard asked, Dan Heng nodded. "It's still a working progress.."He explained. "Really? I thought by now after 6 months it would be at least done by now." Gepard said.
→ "You write your own novels?" You ask Dan Heng. He nodded.
→ "That's quite impressive, not gonna lie." Dan Heng slightly smiles. "Perhaps one day you can share it with the rest of us." Gepard said. "Speaking of writings, Blade, don't you write as well?" Jing Yuan asks him.
"No-" Blade was cut off by Gepard.
" But I saw you writing-"
"Shut up." Blade snapped at him. "Seems that we have to give you some confidence. Say this gives me an idea." Jing Yuan said.The three of you looked at him expectively. "Tonight we go home and write a short story and at the next meeting, we read them aloud. Plus since we have a new member now, it would give us a chance to learn more about each other." Jing Yuan said.
→ "Actually about that- I never said I was joining. I might've come to see it but I still have other clubs to- Uhh."
You froze, seeing the four boys slightly sad and rather disappointed faces. "I see, apologies for assuming you were joining." Dan Heng said. Blade was still glaring at you but more intensely. "Well- This is rather unfortunate but I do hope we can one day welcome you as a new member some day." Jing Yuan said, the disappointment in his voice was clear. "Y/n.." Gepard looked at you with a solemn expression, he was obviously hoping you'd actually join.
You felt a sting of guilt and shame as you sighed. Today is the day you sell your soul just to see some hot dudes who read and tea.
→ "I've decided... I'm joining."
Their faces immediately lit up as Gepard pulled you into a tight hug. "Thank you y/n." He whispered before pulling away. "Well then welcome to the Literature club, Y/n l/n. Alright everyone, I think today's meeting can end on a good note."
After that you walked home...Unaware of the new surprises you'll now face...♡

Paralels between Emerald duo and Codebreakers (canons and headcanons).
First of all they are my favorites character, I cannot even put in words how much I like them, my brain is gonna rot.
Personally I dont like to see the relationship that Phil have with them as something pathernal, but more as something close to the idea of the Moiral quadrant that we had on homestuck.
For you who saved your ass and stayed farrr away from this webcomic (just joking dont take that part too serious), Moirail basicly are besties that has a strings and specials bond, Moirail it’s that person who you feel safe to open up and talk about problems and feelings. That’s it if I dont mistaken me, omg my memorie is so poor, but look if Im wrong this is still the concept that Im looking for okay :c
Based on it, we should normalize kiss your best- COF COF, I mean, normalize writing an open love letter to your best friend in a pretty platonic way (Im not being ironic).
In short, they are best friends, bros, buddys.
Yeh I talk too much, too much, lesgo then.
The totem thing. I like to think Philza is pretty concerned with the boys, because Techno and Elotes are almost two ambulant suicidals just because of the totens, yet Phil is just like omggg sit down and stay quiet just for two entire minutes. I imagine Phil have constantly to bandage and sew up their wounds, SPECIALLY with Etoiles, that French Beast thing and his way of looking at thing intensifies this a lot.
I have a really strong headcanon that in both codebreakers and emerald duo Techno and Etoiles have a very strong relationship with Mumza because of the times they almost died (a pretty fun relationship btw, I bet she gives advices and philosophizes about life with them), at the point they know her even BEFORE know Philza or as long as they know him, and all this often without Philza even knowing, and when he descovers he goes like: WHAT?!
Even though Philza doesnt look physically as strong as them (I like to think he is, for real) the two still admire the man as if he were a super cool older friend, and besides none of them show it to Phil or tell him, they both are like: LOOK that cool guy is MY FRIEND, how cool, isnt it?
Headcanon, the warriors already cried in front him.
I know that Techno is pretty concerned about his reputation in a certain way but I really like to pass this to Etoiles too, Imagine a moment where they are showing friendly affection for eachother with a hug or something, and out of nowhere they break up and Etoiles says, “man, I’m enjoying this but it hurts my reputation”, even when theres NO ONE close to see it, they’re just so out of touch they have ashamed of it, in the most fluffy way you can imagine that, it’s pretty funny imagine beasts, unshakable warriors that just cant deal with a hug of their best friend.
Techno hear voices, Etoiles get the paranoid <3
They have wavy and curly hair and sometimes Phil helps them to finish their hair, for techno he usually braid his all hair and for Etoiles he do a tiny terere on the side. Philza encourage both to take more care of their hair because he likes the curls and waves.
Techno and Etoiles have completly unexpected hobbies, I like to think that tech know how to sew and he have a whole sketchbook just for crosquis and Etoiles constantly draw and makes small wood sculptures, cute things because he usually gives to Pomme. We can invert this too btw, I think it matchs with both!
Despite Phil’s warnings they simply refuse to have a healthy sleep schedule.
If it was necessary they would sacrifice themselfs for keep the oldman safe.
I didn’t talk much about Phil :c but I was trying to do something more focused on Tecchnoblade and Etoiles in the relationship with him ya know? Maybe another time I’ll do something for our blondie girlie pop.
I truly like how those duos are simillary with eachother even when one of them are different people. Btw codebreakers should be more contrast on the fandom hihi.
Just to remember English is not my mother language so sorry for the poor words choose.

maybe like one with karen and reader where its like the one you did for warren but like how karen and readers relationship was while living with the six. ohhh or like you could do the beach scene with karen and maybe its just karen and reader or like they also tag along with graham and the blondie. lmao im dying for more karen fics
Echoes of Pain & Love
pairings: karen sirko x fem! reader & karen sirko x graham dunne (for plot purposes)
a/n: hiii anon! hopefully this is up to standards cause i really enjoyed writing this fic - even if it is really sad (i'm sorry about that btw). i didn't add the second part of the request cause i didn't feel like it fit in naturally with the story if that makes sense. i love writing for karen (we are in desperate need of more karen fics) so i hope you enjoy this. used a different perspective with billy on this one cause i thought it would be interesting to look into that avenue of family ties. also i promise my next karen fic will be fluffy instead of the whirlwind that this is.
tw: drug addiction, mentions of cigarettes, swearing, religious trauma (slightly mentioned), abortion, pregnancy, period typical homophobia mentions, mafia mentions (? honestly it's like a comedy point so not really a tw), angst angst angst, kissing, drinking, rehab mentions, mental health problems kind of mentioned, overdose
description: the rise of the biggest band in the world and the cloud of pain and love that surrounds a particular member and the love of her life.
Tumblr media
Y/N Dunne: Hi? Is this on? Okay yeah great. We ready to start?
You were born in a small town called Hazelwood, Pittsburgh. Around 2 minutes before your twin, Billy. From that moment on you two were inseparable so when he wanted to learn guitar, you also learned guitar. When you took up your strange art hobby, he also started bringing a sketchbook everywhere along with him. So when your little brother Graham convinced him to join his little band, Billy also dragged you along with him.
You took the band almost as seriously as Billy, even if you still had some aspirations for going to university (which you never told Billy). Over the years until little Graham graduated high school you guys didn’t practice as much as you practiced the year after graduation. After each session your fingers were stinging and calluses upon calluses started to form.
You guys were playing gigs upon gigs and it was going incredibly well. Until you had to play a wedding, a wedding where your father was in attendance.
“Billy, Y/N what the hell? Are you guys okay?” You had rushed after Billy when you noticed that the creep dancing with the girl ages younger than him was your father. Currently you were holding your twin in your arms as unbridled rage filled your very being. You could feel that same rage radiating off Billy.
“You noticed the creep with the combover?”
“Yeah…”
“He’s our dad.” You responded, that made Billy unwarp himself from your arms and go thundering back into the wedding. You quickly followed him in and stood by his side as he confronted your father before smashing his guitar and storming off.
“Do you remember me?” You asked your absentee father after Graham punched him and walked off.
“Of course, girl. You have grown into quite a beaut huh?” A grossed out look overtook your face before you kneed that stupid little man right in the balls. As he kneeled over in pain you took the opportunity to spit on him and walk off in the direction of your brothers.
Warren: Y/N was and still is a badass. Never and I mean never underestimate that woman.
After that incident, life calmed down a bit. Practice continued and Camila appeared in your life after somehow Billy miraculously whisked her off her feet at a laundromat. You were happy to have another girl around and you would constantly tease Billy about how in love he was with her.
“You are such a softie!”
“I am not!” Billy had just gotten back from the dinner with Camila’s parents and he had found you watching tv and painting your nails in the living room with Graham napping on the other side of the couch.
“You know when you find someone I’ll be reminding you of these moments.”
“Shut up!” You threw the pillow that Graham had his head on towards Billy’s face which caused Graham to violently wake up to find his grown up siblings having a pillow fight in the middle of the living room.
Y/N: The night we opened for the Winters… right. Fuck that was night we all met Karen. *strained laughter* Graham was so in love with her. Oh! And Chuck right yeah that’s how I became the bassist. Billy nearly gave it to Eddie.
Chuck had basically rushed back inside his house, probably intimidated by all the very judgemental looks you all were giving him. Who would leave the band just like that? And to go into fucking dentistry?
“Okay how the hell are we going to play next week?” You asked as you stamped out your cigarette harshly.
“Eddie, you're going to have to be on bass.” Billy said with his usual commanding tone.
“Like hell I will.” Eddie responded with a scoff.
“Look we need-”
“I can do it.” You piped up, Eddie and Billy’s fights never ended well; it was as if a cloud of tension just permanently lived between them.
“What?” Your twin turned to you with a confused look on his face.
“Well I worked on the bass lines with Chuck cause he’s a mediocre player anyways so I pretty much know them front to back. Plus we don’t really need another rhythm guitarist anyways.”
“You sure?”
“Positive. You guys want to come over to practice at our house? I’m pretty sure mom went out with some of her friends.”
“Yup.”
“Sounds good.”
Y/N: I was lying about those bass lines by the way but someone needed to diffuse that situation.
Eddie: Fucking hell Y/N was a saving grace that day. She always was when the band was still together. I think it’s cause she knew Billy the best. They had this way of communicating that was downright creepy. Twin telepathy and all that crap.
The day you opened for the Winters started with cramping fingers and a slight tickle in your throat. You had barely been sleeping. Billy always called you a perfectionist and it was probably the worst trait to have when you were trying to prepare for the biggest night of your life. Then you saw… her.
The venue for one was stunning and huge. But what really lit up the place was the blonde on the keyboard. She was like an angel. So deeply entranced in the music and so fucking confident.
Men never really interested you. Sure they were attractive in the objective sense but whenever you thought of who you wanted to walk down the aisle for it was always a woman you envisioned. It had been like that since childhood. What made it worse was the church. Your mother wasn’t particularly religious but you always went to church on Sundays and the priest always spoke about homosexuals being part of the devil’s work.
You thought you needed to be fixed. Which is why you had tried throughout high school to date men or rather boys. But it never worked out. Whenever they got too close to kissing you you ended it with them or got Billy to help.
After that you just stopped trying to pursue that idea and just decided to live for the rest of your life alone. Or… with a woman if you ever found her. But living in Hazelwood, Pittsburgh had its challenges in that department. You would become the town pariah if you told the wrong person. And… you had no idea how to even start to mention it to your brothers.
But she was like an angel. Radiant under the stage lighting.
“Ooo somebody’s in love.” Oh fuck. You quickly spun around trying to see if Warren’s voice was directed at you but thankfully it wasn’t. Instead it was to your little brother who was staring at… her. Your heart clenched and your grip on your bass case tightened. The sharp pain sent through your aching fingers brought you back down to Earth. Of course she would never go for a girl, hell she’s probably straight. You briskly walked away from the pair and through the backstage door.
If you had turned around you would have noticed the girl’s eyes staring at you as you disappeared behind the swinging doors.
Y/N: I think I played okay that night. I mean the atmosphere was electric and I guess you could say that it was the night that marked the beginning of everything.
Billy: Y/N was incredible that night. She always downgrades her playing skills but it was as if she was born to play guitar. And no I’m not just saying that because she’s my twin.
Karen: I was stunned by Y/N when I first saw her play. When she told me, years later, that she had learnt all those riffs in less than a week I was blown away.
Y/N: Anyways after that night we headed off to the city of angels. Fucking Rod Reyes somehow convinced us. And well Billy also miraculously got Cami to follow us. Still don’t know how my imbecilic twin did it.
You were all gathered at one of the numerous LA diners as Graham made the phone call. The phone to that stunning woman that your brother (and you) had a big crush on. Her name was Karen. Karen Sirko.
You passed the cigarette you were sharing with Warren back to him as you watched your youngest brother flounder on the phone as he tried to talk to the supposed woman of his your his dreams.
“Look, just pass me the phone.” You said as you got up and took the phone from his slightly sweaty hands. Ignoring his protests you spoke into the receiver.
“Hi Karen. This Y/N Dunne.”
“Hi… Y/N Dunne. The bass player right?” Her silky British voice filled the phone and a slight shiver ran down your back.
“That would be me. Anyways what my idiotic little brother was trying to say-”
“Hey!” You heard Graham protest in the background.
“How would you like to join the band?”
“Oh bloody hell it’s burning. Guys it’s burning.”
“Uhh…”
“Sorry about that. Minor kitchen emergency.”
“You’re all good. So… what do you say?”
“To what?”
“Joining the band.”
“In Pittsburgh?”
“We’re actually in LA now. Gigs are lined up and we have a house in Laurel Canyon.”
“Hmm what do you think?”
“What do I think about what?” You asked as you leaned against the phone booth as everyone stared at you with anticipation, Graham most of all.
“Do you think it’s worth it?”
“You’re asking the wrong person. My mother always called my brother and I dreamers.”
“Hmm… you know what, yes. Send me the address and I’ll see you then.” Karen hung up the phone and you replaced it in the phone booth before turning around.
“Well?”
“We have a new member of the band!”
Y/N: I remember during those months that I had the strangest assortment of jobs. I worked at a movie theater, a bakery, an ice cream parlor, in a record store and I even think that I might have accidentally been working at a front for a mafia business. That was the secretarial job and it was the one I kept the longest. Employers let just say didn’t particularly like me. At least the mafia did so you know. That definitely says something about me. I had the secretarial job when Karen finally arrived.
You had had a very long and grueling day at the office dealing with a strangely large amount of angry Italian men. But you got through it and you finally came home… bearing the gifts that Warren and your twin always loved. Two slices of apple tart from your boss's mother who always appreciated giving them to you since he had a specific dislike of apples but a fear of his mother.
“Honeys I’m home!” You walked into the living room to find Graham, Warren and Eddie battling each other with the random things, a daily occurrence.
“Ooo did you get the apple thing?”
“Of course.”
“You are truly an angel sent from heaven.” Warren gave you a forehead kiss before he whisked away the white box in your hands.
“Yeah yeah.” You moved to go to your room which was quite literally the size of a broom closet but at least you had a bed. Even if it was crammed on top of a bunk with a desk under it. After you had changed out of your formal wear and into a button down and shorts. You slid into the living room with your pair of fluffy socks and snatched the blunt out of Eddie’s hands.
“Hey!”
“Oh shush I had to deal with a mob of angry Italians, this is the least you can do.” You slumped down on one of the couches and took a long hit that instantly relaxed your tired muscles.
“I don’t know how you’ve even held this job down for so long.” Eddie said as you passed the blunt back to him.
“No idea. It’s a fucking miracle.” You grabbed a random magazine from the pile and started to flick through the photos of really attractive supermodels.
“How many jobs did you have before this, remind me?”
“Probably like 20.” Graham said as he took a seat next to you.
“Fuck off.” You answered back as you blindly tried to kick him. “At least I tried to go get a job while the rest of you just idle around here like lazy dogs.”
“She does have a point there.” That was a new voice, you perked up and took a peak over your magazine as Karen took a seat on the couch in front of you and held out a glass of wine.
“Thanks. So are we ordering in or…”
“Nope, Billy and Warren said they were going to cook something.” That made you spin around and look at her with a horrified look on your face.
“Please tell me you’re joking.”
“No? Cami went to process some of her film a bit ago and they just volunte-”
“Oh fuck.” You quickly handed her the wine and threw the magazine on the couch before basically flying into the kitchen. Trying to salvage whatever disaster the boys had decided to cook up. Some kind of alien monster most likely.
Y/N: *laughing* Those were some good months. I actually miss those days a lot. I guess everything changed after Billy met Teddy Price at a supermarket. Weird coincidence but I swear on my life that it happened. Well I’m actually trusting Billy’s word on this so who knows?
Graham: Y/N was really happy in those months. I mean she was always happy. Like a ball of fire and positivity.
Karen: I got to know everyone a lot more due to how close we were living together. Y/N and I bonded as well but she mostly avoided me. Probably because of work. She was really busy, even with gigs. Cami and Y/N were basically the ones getting the extra money we needed to pull through each month.
Y/N: Karen said I was avoiding her? I mean… maybe I was. It was a weird time for me. It was also the time I met Daisy. Oh she didn’t tell you? Yeah I met Daisy ages before she joined the band.
Daisy: Y/N told you we met earlier than expected? Well she’s only telling the truth. Y/N was a truly kind hearted soul, she actually was there the night I first played for a live audience.
The girl on stage, Daisy Jones, was absolutely dazzling. You almost felt like a kindred flame was lit up in your heart. So of course you decided to come up to her with a glass of whiskey and a smile.
“Hi sorry to bother you but I just have to say you have an incredible voice.”
“Aww thank you darling. I’m Daisy by the way.”
“Y/N.” The rest of the night was spent around a bottle of whiskey and you also got to meet Simone. The three of you created a comfortable atmosphere around you and so over the painful months of trying to get Teddy to produce the band you kept in touch with the duo. Going out for drinks when none of you were playing gigs or recording.
Y/N: Like I said those were some good months. But I guess every good thing has to come to an end. *A sad smile appears on your face and you turn your face from the camera to quickly wipe your eyes.*
Graham was obviously enamored with Karen. Everyone saw it, everyone knew except for her. Your heart stung every single time he sent her that puppy eyed look. How could you be jealous of your brother?! It’s not like someone as beautiful as her would ever go for someone like you.
You bitterly took another sip of your drink when you felt a presence next to you. Carefully turning your head you were surprised to see Billy. It was his night after all. The night of his wedding. Really you couldn’t believe it.
“Hey? You okay?”
“Yeah.” He most definitely wasn’t and you had an inkling as to why, so you just leaned your head on his shoulder and gave him a one armed hug.
“Just know I will always love you okay. Through thick and thin. I’m your twin so you sure as hell are never getting rid of me.” He let out a wet chuckle before burrowing his face in your hair and giving you a squeeze back.
“I can’t believe I’m going to be a father.”
“You’re going to be a good one, Billy. I’ll make sure of that and Cami will make sure of that.”
“I don’t deserve either of you.”
“Nope don’t you go on saying that Mr. Dunne.” He laughed before pulling away from you and taking a swig of his beer.
“Do you want to be the kid’s godmother?”
“What?!” You looked up at him with widened eyes and a surprised expression on your face.
“Well I kind of talked it over with Cami and well we want you to be the godmother.”
“I’m already going to be the aunt though.”
“So should I tell her you said no…”
“Oh shut up Billy of course I’m saying yes.” You both laughed and he hugged you again. Harder this time.
“It’s all going to be fine.” You said into his shirt, trying to reassure your anxious twin.
“I believe you.”
Y/N: *silence as you anxiously pick your nails* Umm the tour right. I think that was more of the tour from hell. I was basically watching my brother destroy himself and his family. And I was powerless to stop it. So when you feel powerless what do you think we did back then? I took up pills. A secret little habit no one ever knew about.
You carefully tucked Billy into his bed after throwing the groupies out of his room and throwing out all the empty beer bottles. The remnants of cocaine were also swept onto the floor, and just as you were about to close the door you heard a voice.
“Y/N?”
“Yeah Billy?”
“Uh… thanks.”
“Anytime.” You said with a sad smile as a tear ran down your face before closing the hotel door.
“Fuckkkk.” You slumped down against the door and buried your face in your hands. It was this exact same routine. Over and over and over again. What were you going to tell Cami? Would you ever tell her?
“Hey you okay?” You heard that British accent that never failed to make you feel butterflies in your stomach, even if you sat devastated in a random hotel.
“Fine. You?” Quickly wiping away the remnants of tears and standing up so you were at eye level with Karen.
“You sure?”
“Yeah, Karen. No need to worry about me. Have you settled in okay?”
“Right yeah everything is great. I was just about to go for a smoke on the roof care to join me?”
“Sure sounds good.” You dusted off your hands and followed Karen up onto the roof before lighting up one of your cigs.
“Okay now tell me the truth. How are you really feeling?” She asked after an awkward beat of silence.
“Conflicted I guess.”
“About the whole Billy thing?”
“Yeah he’s my brother but… I hate seeing him like this. I don’t know. Shit… this is such a messed up situation isn’t it?”
“It really is. Now just stop thinking about it and watch the stars. That always does the trick with me.”
“Thanks Karen.”
“Anytime.” She sent you a comforting smile and you laid your head in her lap. That constant weight on your shoulders already dissipating by just being around her.
Y/N: A few more shows in Cami came to visit. It was a surprise and honestly I’m pretty sure she knew something was up. I met up with her when I went to do my nightly check up on Billy since I had been at the record store all day.
Camila: I would never blame Y/N for what was going on with Billy. I think she was the one who at least didn’t let him slip off the deep end but I wish she had told me about it.
You didn’t know about Cami’s trip so when you went to check up on Billy suddenly the door swung open and a very pregnant Camila stormed out.
“Cami?” You asked in a strained voice.
“Y/N hey.”
“Look I’m so fucking sorry. I tried to get him to tell you or I would have called-”
“No no I get it. You’re his twin, you will always try to protect him. I gave him an ultimatum.”
“I’m assuming you’re letting him fuck around until the kid is born right?”
“Yeah.”
“I’ll try to make sure he gets better okay?”
“That isn’t-”
“No it is. Now come here. Let me hug my favorite sister in law.” You enveloped Cami in a hug and smoothed your hands across her back as she started sobbing into your shoulder.
“It’s going to be okay. Shhh, it’s all going to be fine. When is your flight?”
“Tomorrow morning.”
“How about you come stay with me until then? That way you don’t have to see Billy or pay for another room.”
“Yeah that sounds good.”
Y/N: Those shows were a disaster. Billy was getting worse and I had no way to stop it. I didn’t try to take away his drugs or the fucking groupies. The one time I tried… no okay he doesn’t even know about that. So the day Julia was born, that wonderful little bundle of joy, Teddy got Billy into rehab. And I became Jules’ godmother. I thought everything was going to get better after that and it did for a while. For everyone else.
Billy: I came out of rehab and I quit the band. I think Graham and Y/N were the only ones who understood why. Y/N got the brunt of my addiction though. She was like a shining beacon but I never realized how much it had affected her…
Y/N: I wasn’t fine.
That stupid green monster called jealousy invaded your veins each time you saw him with her. You should be happy for your brother but it was the complete opposite. Warren was even questioning you as to why he never saw you with anyone, you only brushed off those questions by telling him to fuck off.
Pill numbers were multiplying by the day and as you sat in the recording studio waiting for whatever miracle Teddy thought would save your band you could almost feel the chemicals moving through your blood. You took another swing from the coffee cup in your hand to try and distract yourself from how big Karen’s smile was as she looked at Graham.
Falling for a straight girl. What an fucking cliche.
“Can I get a glass of milk and a whiskey? Or just a whiskey if you don’t have milk. Or just milk if you don’t have whiskey?” Now that was a familiar voice. You perked up from your little alcove in the recording room to see that chaotic ball of pure energy which belonged to one of your best friends. Daisy Jones was in the house.
“DAISY JONES? Do my eyes deceive me?” You rushed up and enveloped her in your arms. “Why didn’t you tell me that you were coming?”
“Well I didn’t know until last night.”
“You look incredible, I love this shirt.” She smiled and did a little twirl to show off the buttondown.
“Stop, now you look absolutely stunning. Where did you manage to find a coat like this?”
Karen: I remember feeling a strange kind of anger the day we met Daisy Jones. It wasn’t directed at her, it’s just… I don’t think it really clicked that Y/N had a life outside the one I saw her in.
Graham: It wasn’t really a surprise, Y/N was friends with everyone. Did she tell you about that mafia thing?
“You guys done with this little reunion cause we need to get on with it.”
“Stop being such an asshole Billy. But yeah we should probably get this show on the road.” You made your way into the soundbooth with the rest of the band after giving Daisy one more squeeze and a comforting smile.
“So how do you know Daisy?” Karen whispered in your ear, making you jump. She was way closer than you had anticipated.
“Oh I went to one of her shows. We got to know each other after, that’s how I met Simone as well. Where do you think I disappear off to all these nights?” That response elicited a slightly guilty look on Karen’s face.
“I always thought you were in your room. I guess I’ve just never seen you sneak out.” Wow, you hadn’t realized how good you had gotten at hiding your little bad habits.
“Hmm.” You hummed back and then turned to look at your brother and Daisy, nervously picking at your nails. Oh god why did you tell Karen that. She now thinks you’re some kind of crazy party girl.
The rest of the recording session was kind of a mess. You suddenly realized why you had been so entranced by Daisy when you first met her. She reminded you so much of your twin. You had felt that instant connection because you had the same connection with Billy. Their personalities bashed against each other because they fit so well together.
Y/N: I think we all noticed the Daisy and Billy thing. But I was just scared. I was scared for Billy and for Daisy. I care for them so so much but I don’t think I could have predicted what all came next. I had an inkling though. And that is what scared me.
You had joined Karen when she basically dragged you to go to the record store with her. Ever since your admission about your nights out it seemed as if she wanted to spend more and more time with you. Not that you minded.
You stood next to her as you sifted through the rows of different music selections. You weren’t particularly looking for anything but were looking out for some new stuff. It was always interesting to hear new sounds when suddenly you heard the girl at the till.
“Is this the one with ‘Look At Us Now’?” You exchanged glances with Karen with giddy smiles starting to paint your faces. No fucking way.
“Oh shoot I don’t think I have enough.” Karen was about to pull out some money but you stilled her hand by grabbing her wrist. Winking at her you grabbed a 5 dollar bill from your jacket pocket and put it on top of the record. Your record.
“Here.”
“Oh thanks.”
“No problem.” You linked arms with Karen before heading out of the store letting out giggles.
You took a seat next to Julia as you fed her little pieces of food whilst cooing at her. Billy was once again complaining about the song and Cami was trying to calm him down.
“Has anyone looked through the mail recently?”
“Oh fuck sorry I meant to sift through those last night. Mia culpa and all that.”
“Don’t worry about it.” Karen sent you a soft smile before her face turned to shock as she stared at the envelopes. “Does anyone know what these are?”
“No way.” You quickly snatched the letter that was addressed to you from her hands and started dancing around the kitchen. “Look Jules, aunty has got some money now.”
Y/N: The first thing I bought… Karen tried to get me to buy stock. But no… I umm I bought a motorcycle.
Graham: Okay so one thing you need to know about my sister is that she has like zero self preservation.
Y/N: Graham said that?! Oh that little shit. That isn’t true. I got a helmet too. That bike basically became my baby.
You were sitting out on the balcony after Billy and Cami moved out. Which meant you could finally do drugs freely, well not that freely but that’s beside the point. You were lying on the floor staring at the stars as Warren went on and on about how he and the canyon were connected. It was strangely funny in your drugged out state that you burst out laughing. Pills and psychedelics might not have been the best combination.
In your defense you thought you were about to go to bed so you took a combination of sleeping and pain pills but then Karen dragged you upstairs to try out whatever this thing was. And all in all you were having a great time until it happened.
You peaked through your fingers to see Karen’s hand on Graham’s chest. It was just against his heart. Like she was metaphorically holding his heart in her hand but in that moment it felt like it was your heart that she had just crushed into a pulp.
So you just closed your eyes and let the drugs overtake your senses. Letting them all wash away that pain of heartbreak.
Y/N: Hawaii was incredible. Billy was an asshole. And Daisy shined. I think that’s about all I can remember from that time. *a tight smile appears on your face* People never notice things until they come to the surface. I hid things very well for a long time.
Cami had invited you to the housewarming party and when you were having a catch up with Daisy in her hotel’s pool you realized she was too. You hadn’t told her about the whole being a lesbian thing, not that you didn’t trust her but you didn’t want her to treat you differently. You were just scared of what she would see in you even if she had fully accepted Simone.
Simone had gone to New York because of a woman. Simone who was the only person who knew you liked women. Simone the glue that held Daisy together. You both missed her deeply and that is why you were hanging out with Daisy at the pool.
So on the night of the housewarming, Daisy’s arms were wrapped around your waist with a pineapple balancing in your lap as you sped through the streets of LA until you arrived at the house.
Daisy was the first to hop off before taking off her helmet and handing it to you. You did the same and took the keys out of the ignition before following Daisy inside. You weaved through the crowds with her arm around your shoulders when Cami spotted the two of you.
“Daisy you came! And with Y/N. Now this is a strange development.”
“You didn’t mention me before? I am offended.”
“Well it’s not my fault it’s so hard to describe someone so radiant. I’m going to go check up on Billy. It’s good to see you, Cami.”
“We need to see each other more often Y/N. Jules has been missing you.”
“Oh I bet.” You gave her a smile before bounding over and enveloping Billy in a bear hug. “How is my favorite twin doing?”
“Hi Y/N, it’s good to see you too. What’s got you so energetic today?”
“Wow I can’t just be excited to see my brother?” In reality, you had sneaked some of Daisy’s cocaine stash while she was in the bathroom. It was your first time on the drug and you suddenly realized how Billy got addicted to this stuff. You hadn’t felt this good in ages.
“No no that’s not at all what I’ve been saying. How have you been?”
“Good. I’ve missed having you and Cami around.”
“No you haven’t.” He said with a conspiratorial smile on his face.
“We haven’t been separated before Billy before I miss having my twin around.” That second the mask slipped, the mask that said I’m fine.
“Y/N?”
“I umm I’m going to get myself a drink. See you later Billy.” You slipped out of his grasp and grabbed a glass of whiskey and made your way to the living room where you saw Graham flirting with some blonde. Okay now that is a strange development. You took a seat next to a confused looking Karen on one of the couches.
“You okay?”
“Oh hey you came.”
“That I did. So what’s going on?”
“Did you know that Graham was in love with me?” That made you spit out the remaining whiskey in your mouth.
“What?” You said after coughing for a solid minute.
“Graham told me he wanted to be with me.”
“And you said?”
“No obviously.”
“Oh okay.” That stupid sentence shouldn’t have made you fill up with hope but it did.
“So you don’t have any comments?”
“I mean what do you want me to say?”
“I don’t know.”
“Right I umm I’m going to leave you alone then.”
You spent the night at Cami and Billy’s house, they had already set out the spare room for you since Billy didn’t want you driving on that vehicle of death as he liked to call it in the middle of the night.
Y/N: The first day that we were officially Daisy Jones & The Six couldn’t have started anymore disastrously. I was finally starting to cut back on pills because after the cocaine inci-
Interviewer: Sorry to interrupt but uh what was the cocaine incident?
Y/N: *a pained look overcame your face* I don’t think you want to hear about this.
Interviewer: I want to know it all.
Y/N: Right so I guess you will be the second person to ever know the story about the cocaine incident. The first was the doctor who found me overdosing in a park. It had become a habit to swipe Daisy’s coke stash. So on that night I had been adventurous and took a little more than usual. That ended up with me on a park bench with foam coming out of my mouth. Mark found me after a shift, he basically revived me by throwing me in a lake and getting me to his house. There he was able to flush the drugs from my system. I made him promise the next morning to never tell anyone and that was that. I don’t remember much of the encounter but I stopped the majority of the drugs after that.
Interviewer: I’m sorr-
Y/N: *with tears rolling down your face* Don’t be sorry. I’m alive and yeah it was probably not a good idea to not have told anyone but I was one of those people who didn’t believe in weaknesses. Anyways, I was kind of going through a big withdrawal period during that first session. Teddy was a fucking saviour as always and got Daisy and Billy to go write a song. I spent my day cruising around the streets of LA on my bike trying to fight off a killer migraine.
You arrived home before Warren and Eddie did and what greeted you was the sounds of moaning. So you quickly slipped into the back and took a peek into the living room. The sight on the couch made your heart split in two. Karen and your brother…
You soundlessly turned and closed the backdoor before quickly wiping the tears that started to form at the sight of Warren and Eddie.
“Where have you two been all day?”
“We could ask you the same question.”
“Well I was at the garage for a bit and then I went to the hills and cruised around. And by the popcorn I’m guessing you went to see Rollerball again.”
“Damn right sister.” You laughed and followed them inside when you heard the phone ringing.
“Is anyone going to get that?” You asked as you walked into the living room, looking at Karen and Graham who looked very disheveled.
“Uh yeah.”
Y/N: That was the first time we heard Let Me Down Easy. And it was incredible… but Daisy and Billy. They realized that connection. And that hug at the end of the session. Well it said it all.
Interviewer: So did you notice anything different about Y/N around the time you recorded Aurora?
Billy: Uh not really? I was kind of immersed in the writing process of it all. Why? Did she say something?
Graham: She was more reserved I guess. I barely saw her other than in recording sessions and at home. I was kind of busy too with uh I guess you could call it love.
Karen: Yeah she was avoiding me. I wanted to be around her a bunch but Graham was giving me something I always wanted. And she was more tired. Like almost lethargic.
Warren: Not really? She spent a lot more time with me though. We discussed movies a lot together.
Eddie: She looked exhausted a lot of the time. Wait, why are you asking this?
Y/N: I was mentally drained during that time. I was avoiding Karen and Graham because of obvious reasons. I tried to date a few guys. That was a bad time. Me and men don’t go well together but uh I was grieving a lot and on top of that I was heartbroken. I wasn’t in the greatest place and it kind of fucked with me.
Daisy: I wasn’t spending as much time with Y/N as I probably should have been.
Y/N: After the album was finished and everyone went their separate ways, I went to a rehab center in Switzerland. The only person who knew was Teddy. I was an insanely secretive person but I needed to have someone know where I was. Teddy was like a father to me and he helped with everything.
Billy: I kind of freaked when I realized that no one knew where either Daisy or my sister were. Teddy had no idea where Daisy was but he told me Y/N went on a trip. That she would be back in a month and she was. But she was different. I think that was when I realized how fucking miserable she must have been while I was trying to deal with all my shit.
Y/N: Rehab was the best thing I could have ever done. I went back home and I moved out to this little apartment which was next to this secret beach. I finally felt so much better. I remember that day when I came to collect all my shit from my old room. I had bought a mustang when I left the airport. My beloved car.
You took a deep breath before cutting the ignition of your car and stepping into the house that held so many memories. So much heartbreak.
“Y/N holy shit you’re back.” Warren grabbed you and pulled you into a bear hug which everyone quickly joined once they realized who had stepped through their front door.
“Where the hell have you been?” Karen asked as she looked at you with a deep worry in her eyes.
“I uh went to rehab.” Their shocked faces made you burst out laughing. “Oh god I needed that, it has been a somber few days.”
“Why did you even go to rehab?”
“I needed to go away and get shit straightened out. Now how have all of you been?” You spent the rest of the afternoon catching up and drinking ginger beer while everyone drank regular alcohol. When you broke the news that you were going to move out it didn’t really faze anyone since Warren had basically permanently moved into his houseboat. That crush you had for Karen was still there but you were happy for your little brother. Wow, you could finally say that truthfully in your head.
“I’m sorry I didn’t notice.” Karen said as she helped you pack up some of your valuables.
“Notice what?”
“How much you were struggling.”
“Karen, it’s okay. Plus I know you were busy having a boyfriend.” You forced out a smile before placing another one of your numerous trinkets into your suitcase.
“How did you know?” Karen had an almost guilty look on her face that made you look at her with a confused expression.
“I’ve known for ages. I’m not as clueless as the other idiots.”
“And how do you feel about it?”
“Well I’m happy for you of course. Graham really likes you.”
“Is that it?”
“What else do you want me to say?”
“I… thanks.”
“No problem. Thanks for helping with packing.” After all that was finished you put everything in the trunk with the help of Warren.
“When the hell did you get a Mustang?”
“Well I needed an extra car since my bike wouldn’t hold all my stuff. I got her this morning.”
“I always did appreciate your taste in cars.” You both laughed and exchanged a hug.
“Take care of yourself Warren. I’ll see you at the meeting on Monday.”
“You too. You heading home?”
“Nah I’m going to check in with Billy first.”
“Okay. Bye Y/N.”
“Bye Warren.” You waved at the group who had collected at the front porch before speeding off in the direction of your twin’s house.
You stood in front of the door before finally having the courage to knock. The door was immediately swung open by Camila.
“Oh my god you’re here. Billy get down here!” Cami yelled into the house before grabbing you and squeezing you into a hug.
“Are you okay? Teddy said you were on a trip but we were worried.” All of a sudden Billy appeared at the door carrying Julia and having the most relieved smile on his face.
“Oh Y/N. Come here.”
“Yes, come in. I’ll get you some tea.” Billy put down Jules before he enveloped you in that familiar embrace. God you had missed him. Julia came over and hugged your leg, making you laugh as you picked her up.
“Hey there Jules. You’ve gotten so big.”
“Where were you?” Billy asked as you took a seat on the couch as Julia nestled into your chest.
“Switzerland. I wanted to tell you but I really didn’t want to disappoint you, Billy.”
“What do you mean?”
“I had to go to rehab. I know I should have talked to you-”
“No no, I get it. I’m so fucking sorry I wasn’t there for you. You deserve someone better than me as a brother. Cause I sure as hell don’t deserve you.”
“Shut up, Billy. You’re my twin and I’ll love you to the ends of the earth.”
The rest of the night was spent in tears and laughs. You finally spent some much needed time with your other half. Being a twin meant you had a companion for life but it hadn’t felt like that for a while.
Y/N: I spent most of the tour around Billy. We shared the separate bus with Graham but he usually ended up staying over at Daisy’s bus. And Nicky well Nicky was a horrible fucking person and I noticed how much of a hold he had over Daisy. I felt powerless all over again. I tried to talk to her about it but she wouldn’t listen to anyone. I understood that feeling. I was that person only a few months ago.
Daisy: Y/N and Billy tried. Y/N tried to help so much that now that I think back on it she might have been the only thing keeping me from really surrendering myself to Nicky.
Y/N: Billy found her overdosed in the bathroom one night. That kind of changed everything for Daisy. Oh and Karen and Graham became official.
You were snuggled up next to Billy as you watched a random movie. Ginger beer was sitting in front of you and popcorn littered the bus's couch. You had spent the past few nights crying yourself to sleep. As if that would change the fact that Karen was in love with your little brother.
Then the bus’s door unlocked and in walked Daisy Jones. You felt Billy instantly perk up and shut off the tv. Billy Dunne was in love with Daisy Jones and you were powerless to do anything. Billy couldn’t admit it to himself but you knew the truth. You had known the man since the second he was born.
“Would it be okay if I slept here tonight?”
“Of course Daisy. I’ll leave you guys to it.” You gave your brother a quick nudge before disappearing into the bunk section. Snuggled under the covers you drifted off into dreamland with the sound of their intermingling voices in the background.
Y/N: When Teddy nearly died, it felt like the world stopped. I even went to a chapel. I couldn’t have him leave us just yet.
You were kneeling in one of the pews of the hospital chapel. Praying and just begging God to let him live. You would do anything if you could just have him back.
When you got the news that he was going to be fine, you went into the room before Billy did. He understood the importance of that to you.
“Hey old man. I’m glad you’re not dead yet.”
“You ain’t getting rid of me that easily.” That was when Teddy noticed your tear tracks. “ Oh sweetheart.”
“Can’t have you dying on me okay?”
“I won’t. I promise you.”
Y/N: Pittsburgh never felt like a home to me. LA had become that. At least I didn’t feel judged in every corner of the town. But I missed my mother.
The night before you were meant to leave for Pittsburgh you heard a soft knock on your hotel room door. Rising from your position on the bed, you threw your journal and pen back into the covers and padded over to the door. And there stood Karen. As beautiful as ever but with tears running down her face.
“Kare? What’s going on?” She looked into your eyes and suddenly you knew. Oh she was pregnant.
“I’m sorry. I’m so fucking sorry.” She visibly brightened a little before she delved into your arms and you held her through the night. Selfishly feeling happy that she was spending the night in your arms instead of your brother’s.
You awkwardly sat at the edge of your mother’s backyard. Taking sips of a glass of lemonade as you leaned your head on Karen’s shoulder.
“What’s going on?” You saw Cami walk up to the both of you with a concerned look on her face. You twisted your head to look up at Karen as she gave Cami a sad smile. Cami’s face morphed into something concerned before she gave you both a hug.
“I’m sorry.”
“Hey I’ll leave you two to discuss for a bit, okay?”
“Yeah I’ll see you later honey.” Karen’s little nickname for you made your heart flutter as you gave them both a smile before making your way to where Billy was talking to Chuck. The fucking dentist. You put your hands over your twin’s eyes and leaned next to his head.
“Guess who?” You asked, trying to deepen your voice as much as possible.
“Hmm I don’t know. Who could it be? I’m thinking it’s Y/N.”
“Spoilsport. Hey Chuck.” You made your way to stand next to Billy as he let out a chuckle at your childish antics.
“Hey Y/N. You look good.”
“Why thank you. I’m wearing Dior.” You gave him a slightly cutting smile before taking another sip of lemonade.
Warren: Y/N could be incredibly cutthroat when she wanted to. One of the best things about her.
Y/N: The Pittsburgh show went well. It was weird being home again. But the crowd was insane and Daisy and Billy well… they were Daisy and Billy.
The next morning after the show you went to the clinic with Cami and Karen. You held her hand during the procedure and gave her a comforting smile throughout it. She didn’t want pity or sadness and you knew that. You were always going to be there for her. Even if it was only as a friend.
Y/N: In all honesty, I thought everything was going great. Obviously I could see the tension between Daisy and Billy, I was literally living with them. I felt like a third wheel a lot of the time.
You could feel the palpable tension in the air as you played through the set. Billy looked heartbroken but also fucking elated, Daisy looked like she was having the time of her life, Eddie had a black eye, Graham couldn’t even look at Karen, Karen looked devastated but she kept sneaking glances your way, Warren looked like well Warren looked normal and you just did what you normally did, you observed. You mostly observed Karen because she looked really fucking hot in that outfit.
Then the set ended. Billy ran off to chase Camila and Daisy kept on singing. You knew it was the end. So before you went backstage you looked out onto the crowd one last time and sent them a kiss with a sad smile.
You were packing up your guitar when you felt a warm hand on your shoulder. You turned around to see Karen. In all her glory with a bright smile on her face.
“You don’t know how long I’ve wanted to do this. I’m sorry it took so long for me to realize it.” Then she pulled you into a kiss. A kiss that reminded you of all of the things you had gone through since the start of the band. A kiss that felt like that pulsating crowd. A kiss that felt like pure unadulterated love.
“Wow Karen Sirko I didn’t know you had that in you.”
“Well Y/N Dunne I can’t wait to live out life with you.” You laughed before grabbing her and pulling her into a deeper kiss than before.
Daisy watched on as one of her favorite people in the world finally got her happy ending. And she felt calm for the first time in a while.
Karen: I wasn’t being completely honest with Graham for our entire relationship. I was literally in love with his sister throughout most of it but I didn’t know that I was. Until that night she just held me while I cried about being pregnant.
Y/N: *entwining your hand with Karen’s as the camera pans to allow you into frame* Karen is the only person I could ever imagine a life with. We live out in the mountains and I became a writer. And this incredible woman right here makes some of the best music out there.
Karen: Now you’re exaggerating.
Y/N: Shh I’m having a moment. So yeah Jules that’s how this whole thing has come to pass. I wouldn’t have changed one bit, it all led me to being with this beautiful woman whom I love with my entire being.
Julia: You know I think you’re like one of the coolest people ever right?
Y/N: Aww I love you so much kid. You’re definitely one of my favorite nieces, don’t tell Graham’s kids. *the camera cuts as you and Karen let out loud laughs*
THE END.

This was the most uncomfortable dinner yet, and you've sat and eaten through some uncomfortable dinners. It was silent, tension was high in the air, your mother and father across from you eating as you pushed your spaghetti around with your fork. You glanced at your parents, your father was chewing on his food, a newspaper in one hand, reading the sports section. On the other hand, your mother eats, back straight, eyes solely focused on you, like always. You accidentally make eye contact, quickly looking back down at your plate, maybe she didn’t notice. Your mother speaks from just that slight interaction; you inwardly sigh. You’re in for it now.
"Y/N, dear," She began, before taking another bite, chewing, and swallowing before speaking; anticipation was her strong suit, "Have you met anyone recently?" She asked innocently, yet it was practically the same question she asked you almost every night during dinner. If she were one of those pull-string dolls, that would be one of her lines.
Now, she wasn’t asking if you went out and had a conversation with anyone or even if you made a new friend. No, she was highly invested in your love life and it was stressful.
It seemed that your mother was adamant that you find someone to settle down with, and you were tired of it. She'd ask about your love life constantly, every day; even if it was only a full-on conversation or just a little remark. It really annoyed you, and honestly, it broke you down. As a kid she’d do the same thing, as if befriending a boy in Kindergarten was a sign that you were soulmates.
Even when you tried to voice that you wanted her to stop meddling in your life, she'd come up with some sort of excuse, 'I just want what's best for you,' and, 'I won't be here forever, you need someone to take care of you,' and, sadly, 'I just want you to be happy, don't you want me to be happy too?' She always tried to guilt-trip you, and you were getting tired of it. You wanted her to stop for good.
"No, Mom," You muttered, poking at your food, "Can we please drop this?"
She quickly dropped her fork on her plate, interlacing her fingers together as she rested her elbows on the table, staring at you, she gave you a stern look. "Y/N," She said calmly, but sternly, "I'm trying my hardest to understand you..." You felt your face flush at the statement, confused as you waited almost patiently at what she was going to say. "But you must find someone, you're not getting any younger. You know, you shouldn't be so selfish. You should go out there, find a man, and give me grandkids."
Well, that struck a nerve.
You clenched your hand, the edges of the fork's handle cutting into your palm lightly, "Mom, I told you, my main objective in life is not to just have kids." You were growing more and more frustrated.
"Well, it should!" Your mother snapped, glaring down at the table, before digging back into her food angrily, "We raised you better than this." You couldn't help but frown at her words. "Right, Frank?" Your mother then turned to her husband, who hummed and nodded, taking a sip of his beer.
"Yes, dear." He numbly responded, making you roll your eyes; unfortunately, your mother noticed, pointing her fork at you.
"Don't give me that attitude, you are an adult; act like one. Once you turned eighteen, I should've pushed you out of that front door! But, yet here you are, a year later, in my house, under my roof, without someone financially stable enough to help and take care of you and your future children!" You began to tone her out, poking at your food once more. You didn't understand her. What was her problem with you having kids anyway? "When are you going to grow up!?" She continued to rant, continuing to jab at her meal angrily. The rest of the dinner was silent, aside from a few angry whispers and huffs, all of which you pretended not to notice. You didn't want to deal with this right now. You wanted to go to sleep and forget the whole thing. "Why do you keep doing this to me?! I've fed you, clothed you, taken care of you, given you a proper education, and yet you still won't go out and find yourself a decent husband." Her voice quieted down slightly, though she was still upset, angrily stabbing the meatball on her plate.
She always made everything about herself.
You tried to convince yourself not to cry from frustration as you swallowed thickly, "Why do you have to keep bringing this up?" You asked, trying not to sound weak as you cleared your throat, "At this time, I don't want a boyfriend. I am happy on my own." You tried to sound assertive and confident, but you were starting to break down again. Your stomach tightened, and suddenly, you weren't feeling very hungry anymore, well, you weren't to begin with. You didn't realize you had been holding your breath until you let it out, letting it fill your lungs. "Please," You added, hoping she would just shut up.
She stared at you, her knuckles turning white before she let out a forceful and seemingly irritated exhale from her nose, "Y/N," She began, "Dear," She then gritted her teeth, "I just want you to go out and get a boyfriend."
Groaning loudly, your brain felt like it was going to explode as you slammed your hands on the table, startling your mother and father, who both stared at you with wide, shocked eyes as you spoke, "I have a boyfriend!"
Your mother, slowly overcoming the shock, smiled, "You do?" She was practically glowing as her smile went from ear to ear; a Joker-like smile, "Really?" Her voice was soft, like a mouse, but held so much excitement.
You sat down, your hands shaking. God... What have you done?
"Yes," You swallowed thickly, "I do." You continued to lie, looking at your mother as your mind was begging you to stop.
"Why didn't you tell me?" She asked, her excitement obviously showing, practically bouncing in her seat.
"Well," You began, glancing around the room, trying to come up with a story, "I just... I wanted to wait and see if the relationship was going to work out, is all." You shrugged a shoulder, looking back at your mother. "I, uh, wanted to make sure he was the right guy... For you, Mom." You eased her ego, as she stared at you with her bright eyes and wide smile, listening intently.
"What's his name? What does he do for a living? Is he successful? Are his parents well-known? Do I know them? Is it Jeanna's son, oh, he's just lovely-!" She gushed, talking like a child.
You sighed deeply, rubbing your forehead, getting a headache, "Mom, please stop, it's not Jeanna's son." You pleaded, exasperated, "I don't think I can-"
"I must meet him! Bring him to family dinner Sunday. Oh, I'll make my meatloaf!" She almost squealed, turning to Frank, "What do you think, Frank, dear?" She asked, only to get a hum in response, but she took it; Frank's lack of response wasn't going to ruin her mood.
At her words, you froze. Everything was in slow-motion as her mouth moved, the words coming out in a low tone that made you feel like you were in a cartoon. You gulped, your heart hammering inside your chest, pounding against your ribs as you tried to figure out what to do. This was bad, this was very, very bad; you knew that this wasn't going to end well, and you just wanted to scream. However, you stayed quiet, not wanting to upset your mother again. If she found out that you lied... She'd be upset, no, heartbroken. She'd really kick you out of the house this time.
"Well!" She exclaimed, clapping her hands together, "I'm going to get the ice cream, this is a celebratory moment!" She stood up, and you mirrored her, grabbing your plate, scrambling.
Your mother watched you, her grin slipping for a moment. You tried to keep eye contact as you stood, "I'm going to head to my room. I'm a bit full from dinner. Thank you, Mom." You spoke, as your mother just nodded her head.
"Oh, well, that's alright. You probably have to call that boyfriend of yours about Sunday. I understand. Don't stay up too late!" She cheered teasingly, as you gave her an awkward grin after putting away your dirty dish and heading upstairs to your room.
Shutting your door, you let out a groan, running your hands down your face before you plopped face-first onto your comfy bed. You let out another groan, becoming frustrated with yourself as you slowly rolled over, staring at the popcorn ceiling. You hated your ceiling. You glanced around your room, looking from your posters to the bookshelves, to your desk, closet, tv, and so on. Wondering how you could have messed this one up so badly. Why did you always have to be such an idiot?
You pulled yourself off the bed, sat upright, and looked outside, watching as a light breeze blew through your open window, the sheer curtains flowing slightly as you took a deep breath; your lungs filling with the night air. Everything was so peaceful here, you could pretend that nothing happened in the dining room only minutes ago. You could pretend that your mother didn't badger you about relationships. You could pretend that you didn't just tell her you had a boyfriend.
Just then, you got an idea. 'Yes,' you had thought, 'It might work.' What if, by Sunday, you broke up with your imaginary boyfriend? Then you wouldn't have to deal with the mess of telling the truth to your mother. Yes, but then she'd go back to her fighting ways, trying to fight you into finding another boyfriend. You scoffed out a laugh, she'd probably say something along the lines of, 'Better luck next time! Why don't I invite Jeanna's son over?' But, really, that plan to break up with your imaginary boyfriend wouldn't work... Sunday was three days away.
You felt defeated, slumping your shoulders, you laid back on your bed, falling deep within the pillows and soft blankets of soft greens and blue. Your mind raced as you tried to calm down and figure out what to do. Until you had one more idea. You saw it in a movie once, where the lead girl and boy began fake dating in high school. They were both in it for different benefits. The girl wanted help with homework, while the boy just wanted to get another girl jealous. In the end, they both fell in love. You laughed a little, shaking your head. Yeah, that wouldn't happen if you did it. But, as ridiculous as the idea sounded, it was something you could try.
Once again, your smile dropped. You didn't have anyone you could ask to help you. You didn't have any friends really. You had Robin and that was sort of it. After high school, people did their own thing and moved on, getting jobs and moving away to different cities, towns, or states. What were you going to do? You were just full of bad ideas today, weren’t you?
'Call Robin?’ You asked yourself, and then nodded, ‘Yeah, call Robin,’ before you got into bed and turned off your lamp light. You'd call her tomorrow.
~~~
You twirled the curled line of the phone with your finger, tapping your foot impatiently as you waited for Robin to pick it up. When you heard her voice, you let out an audible sigh of relief.
"Thank you for calling Family Video, my name is Robin. How may I help you?"
"Robin, hey. It's me." You let out a sigh, as you glanced around you briefly.
It was silent on the other line for a moment, "Y/N? What- Why are you calling me? Are you alright?" She asked, sounding worried.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Uh, I really need to talk to you. I really need your help and advice or anything… Really." You spoke, a bit desperate as you continued to tap your foot.
“That’s a lot of ‘really’s.”Robin sighed on the other line, "What is it?" She asked, sounding concerned. “And where are you calling me from?”
"A phone booth,” You glanced around, feeling a bit cramped, “Okay, anyway, so I kind of..." You paused, cringing slightly, "... Told my mom that I had a boyfriend..."
"And you don't," Robin answered, before continuing, "Unless you do, and you just didn't tell me... Your best friend." She spoke in an accusatory voice only for you to shake your head as if she'd see you do that.
You ran a hand through your hair, "No, I don't, and that's the thing. She wants me to bring my imaginary made-up totally real boyfriend to dinner. Sunday!"
You heard a soft hissing, Robin was definitely cringing, "Oh, that's bad... Really bad. Why would you lie about that? I mean, I know that your mom's a bit... Eh."
"I just wanted her to stop badgering me about getting into a relationship, getting married, and having babies," You spoke in a mocking tone, "I've had enough of it."
"Well," Robin spoke, and you could tell through the phone that her gears were turning, "I could maybe help you. Depending on how desperate you are."
You let out another sigh, rolling your eyes slightly, "Robbie, I'd do anything. What's your idea?"
You heard shuffling on the other side of the phone, "Anything?” She asked, and you sighed, nodding.
“Yes, anything!”
“I know someone who could help. I'll ask him." Robin answered and your eyes widened.
"Wait," You paused, your eyebrows furrowing, "What do you mean, 'I know someone who could help'?" You began to panic.
"I mean fake dating, Y/N/N!" She laughed a bit, and you hummed, realizing you had that same idea the night before. Great minds think alike. "It'll work, just go to dinner and wait a couple of weeks before telling your mom that you and your boyfriend broke up."
Your mind raced, thinking it over, "I mean, that'll work... But then she'll get on my case again."
"She won't for the time that you're with your fake boyfriend," Robin added, making a point.
You pursed your lips, staring at the yellow phonebook on the small table below the payphone. "Fine, I'll do it. Now, who's this someone you know?" It was silent on the other end for a moment, worrying you, "Robin..?" You called out, hearing no reply. Did the call end? Did you need to add another quarter?
"I'm here. Sorry, uh, it's Harrington."
Your eyes widened, "Steve? King Steve?" You asked, closing your eyes as you let out a breath from your nose, becoming frustrated. "You know that he used to bully me in high school."
"Yeah, I know… And, I am not saying that what he did is okay, but " Robin tried as you groaned.
"He called me baby, and not the good kind of ‘baby’. I only cried that one time! And he was a jerk, the biggest jerk! And you know I tried to confront him about it, but he just brushed it off."
Robin sighed, "I know… He's changed, Y/N. He's not the 'King Steve' you used to know. Thankfully, he’s become a loser. Hasn’t scored with a girl in a long time," She laughed at the end, and you remembered the story she told you about the time at StarCourt Mall, the whiteboard she had for him, and what she and Steve had gone through. “I bet he’d agree to it. Pretending to have a girlfriend might be good for him. Might flip a switch in his brain and turn him from mister doofus to mister casanova once more.” She teased, as you bit your lip.
You glanced around the phone booth rapidly, before sighing, "I know. You’ve told me. I’ll do it, only if he wants to, not because you force him. Even though he’s a jerk, I’m a nice person.” You hear her laugh on the other line, “And thank you, Robin. You're the best."
You could tell that Robin was smiling on the other side, "I know. Now let me get back to work!"
You couldn't help but laugh too.
~~~
Flipping through your magazine, you kicked your legs in the air behind you, laying on your stomach as you listened to your radio playing the latest hits; Blondie, Queen, and so on. Robin sat on the bed with you, her legs propped up, bent at the knees as she leaned her back against your headboard; she was also looking through a magazine. You and Robin had planned to watch something, maybe The Breakfast Club or Back To The Future, but you both ended up just reading some magazines Robin had brought over. They were the typical magazine, fashion, gossip, and even a National Geographic which Robin loved to read when she wasn’t invested in a book. Sometimes, though, Robin and you would bake chocolate chip caramel scotchies cookies together, and rarely you’d get Robin to draw with you. She said that she wasn’t much of an artist.
This was usually how your Fridays went, spending time with Robin after her shift at Family Video. You also had a job, so you didn’t see Robin as often as you used to, but on Fridays and sometimes the weekends, she’d come over. You always had a great time, she had been your friend for years, ever since third grade. Speaking of her job though, you had almost forgotten about your unfortunate predicament.
You closed your magazine, getting bored of the gossip, sighing softly as you leaned your palm on your cheek, resting your elbow on the bed below. "Have you spoken to Steve?" You abruptly asked, tearing the bandaid as Robin glanced up from the magazine at you and back down.
"He'll do it," Robin answered simply, making you raise an eyebrow.
"Really?" You asked, slightly skeptical, observing Robin's face for any signs of deception, but Robin was the master of the Poker face, though you always beat her at Poker. "How did you convince him to do this?"
Robin shrugged, flipping to another page, "He owes me."
"He's okay with it?" You asked, continuing to worry, "If he isn't, I don't want to force him. I told you I don’t want to force him into this at all."
"Y/N, Steve said it was fine. He said he wanted to help," Robin said, smiling at you as you let out a small groan, rolling your eyes. “Plus, I thought you liked him or something?” Robin added teasingly, making you glare at her.
You decided to ignore her, placing your arm over your eyes, "This is stressing me out. You’re stressing me out."
"Don't stress too much," Robin spoke, leaning forward, placing the magazine on the side table beside the bed, and reaching out, placing her hand on top of yours, giving it a squeeze before going back to grab another of her magazines. "You'll still be coming to FV to talk to him, plan everything out, right?" She asked as you nodded, sitting up.
"Yeah..." You swallowed, licking your lips, "You told him that I was coming by during lunch to plan it with him, right?" You asked as Robin gave you a nod.
"Sure did." She smiled, giving you a thumbs up.
You hummed softly, plopping back down on your bed, and landing on your back, you watched your fan spin round and round above you. You looked around your room, turning your head to the side to look at the clock on the wall. You let out another sigh, knowing the next couple of days were going to be pretty stressful.
~~~
Walking down the sidewalk the next sunny day, you took a deep breath, letting out an exhale as you took in the world around you. The sun was shining brightly down upon you, which was not usual for Hawkins, Indiana. Normally the sky was gray and there were constant gloomy clouds in the sky, but today, the sun was high in the sky and there wasn't a cloud to be seen. Everything seemed so alive today, birds chirping, people driving down the road off to shop, work, or return to their families, children playing roller hockey in the streets near their houses, and even the trees seemed healthy and bright green today.
As you walked, you looked up at the sky, watching as tiny white flocks of birds flew between the leaves, landing on branches. It brought a smile to your face as you finally turned the corner and found yourself in front of Family Video. You paused, unstuffing your hands from your jeans pockets before giving yourself a moment to think and prepare yourself; giving yourself a pep-talk. You hadn't seen Steve since you both graduated, and you haven't even been in the shop after Robin told you that both she and Steve got the job. You didn't want to deal with the awkwardness and whatnot when being in the presence of Steve, or having to talk to him. That's why Robin always got your movies for you. You got a discount too.
Now you didn't want to say you felt rude or petty for holding a grudge against Steve for about two years, but what he did to you really hurt your feelings. It started in your Junior year when you failed your science test. You had spent weeks and stayed up late into the night to study for that test, and you were devastated. You cried until you couldn't cry any longer. You were mentally out of it. You had lost so many points and probably dropped your GPA. And Steve did not make that any better. You were at your locker, putting away your books after the third period, Science, when you just snapped, covering your face with your hands as you cried. You could hear their snickering, Tommy and Carol, before Steve had called out to you, calling you baby. But with his tone, and the way Tommy, Carol, and some other students all laughed, you knew it wasn't good. Steve's face was adorned with a smirk, his arms crossed as he leaned against some lockers across from you. You were embarrassed, mortified! You speed-walked to class that day and avoided Steve at all costs since then. But that didn't stop him from calling out to you with your new terrible nickname.
Aside from being incredibly upset with Steve, you were disappointed with yourself; for ever even having feelings for the guy in the first place. Yes, feelings, for King Steve. You didn’t know why you liked the guy in the first place. He was mean, a jerk, rude, but… He had great hair, a cute face, pretty eyes… Minus his popular bad boy persona, he was perfect. Thankfully, after that bullying and torment, you were able to push those feelings away, seeing an ugly side of Steve, the ruthless and uncaring side. But, from what Robin had said, Steve seemed to have changed. You didn't know for sure, though it was a small town, you avoided him as much as possible. But Robin was your best friend, and you would believe anything she told you, to an extent. You planned to just have a nice, peaceful conversation with Steve, and get all this over with. Let bygones be bygones. So, with your head held high, you entered the store.
As you entered the video store, you noticed no one was at the counter, so you slowly walked over, noticing the cardboard cut-out in the corner or the room before ringing the small bell upon it. It rang, the sound echoing throughout the store as you waited for a few seconds until a voice echoed from the back, and the sound of steps heading to the counter.
Steve entered, freezing when he spotted you, his eyes widening slightly before he cleared his throat, making his way around the counter. Pretending everything was hunky-dory and that he wasn’t a bit nervous. He stopped a good few feet from you, which you were thankful for. You crossed your arms, looking away from him as tension soon filled the space between the both of you.
"Hi." Steve finally spoke, clearing his throat. You nodded in response.
"Uh… Hi." You muttered back, keeping your gaze averted from him as you dropped your arms and fiddled with your fingers slightly.
It was silent again, and you were dying. You just wanted the world to open up below you and swallow you up.
"Uh," Steve spoke up, rubbing the back of his neck as he gave you an awkward smile, "Buckley told me you needed help."
You finally met his gaze, albeit reluctantly, "She told you the whole story?" You asked, wanting to make sure Steve knew what he was getting into.
He nodded, seemingly nervous or embarrassed, or something, "Yeah, and I'm willing to help. I know I might not be your first choice of a fake boyfriend, but I'll do my best to help you with your situation." He spoke, very professionally, surprising you.
You shifted your weight from side to side, "Well… Thank you." You muttered before Steve spoke up again.
"I'd also like to apologize for the way I treated you back in school. I didn't have good friends and had bad influences, and I know that isn't a fair excuse, but I still would like to say that I'm sorry. I was insensitive and an immature kid, and I shouldn't have done what I did. You know, trying to be ‘King Steve’ and all that." Steve spoke sincerely, looking at you seriously as you stared back at him for several moments. You weren't expecting such a sincere apology, and you weren't quite sure how to respond.
You bit your lip briefly, "Uh," You swallowed thickly, "Thank you, Steve. I appreciate that." Steve watched as you fiddled with your fingers, your hands clasped before you as you continued, "I'd like to apologize for this situation. I know what I'm asking you to do is a bit... Weird. You don't have to do it if you don't want to. And if don’t have to if robin is making you."
Steve gave you a smile, waving his hand, dismissing your thoughts, "No no, it's fine. I'd like to make up for what I put you through." He said, and you nodded, taking in mind Steve's very obvious personality change. Maybe Robin was right. "So..." He began, "How do you want to do this?" He asked and you glanced around the large store, nervous.
"Well, uh, could we talk more in private? Is there a break room?" You asked, and Steve nodded rapidly, before leading you to the back of the store, opening the door for you as you both entered the roomy break room. Shutting the door, Steve gestured to the chair at the table, leaning against the wall and crossing his arms as you sat down. You cleared his throat, glancing down at the table, trying to find the words to say. "My mom is having Sunday dinner, uh, Sunday, and she believes that I'm bringing my supposed boyfriend to meet her and my dad. It's just for that Sunday, in two days, after that we fake break up and that's that."
Steve nodded, staring down at the ground briefly. It was sort of an odd situation, something that could be in a movie or a book, but Steve didn’t really mind. He dealt with the Upside Down multiple times. If he could survive that, he could survive an uncomfortable dinner. Steve cleared his throat before looking back over at you. "Alright." He mumbled, scratching the back of his neck. "No offense, but is your mom really that bad? You can’t just tell her the truth?" He asked, and you nodded, letting out a small mirthless laugh.
"Yes, she is. And if she wasn’t, I would not have had to lie in the first place. She’s practically wicked." You ran a hand through your hair, "Sadly, you'll deal with her first hand." Soon, it was silent once more, and you stared down at the table before you, drawing shapes with your finger on the surface, "Uh," You began, looking up at Steve, "Do you have paper and a pencil or pen?"
Steve nodded with furrowed eyebrows, pushing off the wall and heading to his locker on the opposite wall, opening it, he pulled out a pad of paper and a #2 pencil. He walked over, handing them to you in which you thank him softly, before writing down a list. Steve watched, tilting his head confused before he sat in the chair across from you. He watched as you wrote in big letters, 'Rules' on the top of the page.
"What are you doing?" Steve asked as you looked up.
"Making the rules. We have to have rules for this so that both of us are comfortable and won't step over each other’s boundaries." You explained, before turning the pad of paper to the side.
Steve raised his eyebrows, "That's smart," He confessed, impressed.
One by one, the two of you added rules for each other to follow, and then, when everything had been completed on two separate sheets of paper, you signed your name at the bottom of the lists, before turning the pencil towards Steve; he took the pencil and signed his name below yours on both papers. You looked up at Steve as he did so, your eyes looking over his features, admiring his beauty; he brown eyes, eyebrows furrowed in concentration, the soft swoop of his hair, but you quickly looked away, feeling the heat rise to your cheeks. You cursed at yourself mentally, feeling your heart begin to race; your feelings were coming back, and they were stronger than ever. Double-checking it between yourselves, you glanced at the clock on the wall, grabbing your copy of the rules before abruptly standing up from your seat; the metal of the chair scraping oddly against the floor.
"I- I have to get home. Thanks for helping me again, Steve. Uh, dinner's at six." You began as Steve turned around in his seat, accidentally cracking his back slightly as you quickly wandered to the door.
“Wait, Y/N,” He spoke up, making you pause mid-step, looking over at him, “Do you want to meet tomorrow at that diner on Millberry Road? Say three? Do some planning or whatever?” He asked, rendering you silent as you thought, making Steve speak up again, “I’ll buy you a milkshake..?” He offered and you bit your lip, looking at the ground before looking back over at him, nodding with a slight hint of a smile.
“Yeah, that sounds good. See you tomorrow.” You spoke before you rushed out of the break room and out of the store.
Steve watched as you left, before turning back around to stare at the table, he mentally noted that dinner was at six, and to ask Robin for your address. Steve let out a sigh, his brown eyes looking over at the pad of paper, reaching over to slide it over to him. He re-read it, his thumb brushing over the lines and strokes of your signature; slightly smudging the lead. Steve sighed deeply once again, both of his hands going into his hair, shutting his eyes as he pursed his lips. Glancing at the clock, he reluctantly got up, getting back into work after clocking back in. Walking to the front of the store, Steve rubbed his chest, taking note of how fast his heart was beating.
You stared down at the paper in front of you, re-reading the rules over and over. You didn't put it on the list, but you mentally added, 'Don't fall in love'. That was definitely a given. You collapsed on your bed, your head falling back into your plush pillow. You couldn't stop thinking about Steve. His bright honey-brown eyes, his soft-looking, brown hair, the way he talked to you, the look of absolute determination in his eyes as he signed the contracts. When he apologized to you, you slowly realized that maybe Robin was right. Steve definitely seemed nicer, he was polite and kind, and most importantly, he was kind enough to help you with this whole 'fake dating' lie to your mother.
Your mind began to wonder, wondering how things could go horribly wrong.. You weren't sure you could keep things under control if they did. What if something happened? What if you both weren’t believable enough and your mother saw right through you? What if she got suspicious enough that you had to prove to her that you were dating? You wouldn't know what to do. If your mom found out about the lie, she'd kill you, or worse, kick you out of the house.
You closed your eyes, your mind was blank until immediately picturing Steve, which made you groan, grabbing your other pillow and smashing it in your face. Why did he have to be so cute? Why did he have to have such nice hair? Why did he have to make your heart race and butterflies erupt in your stomach? And why did he have to be nice to you? It was easy to hate him when he was mean to you. But he was so understanding and sincere when he apologized to you. Opening the door for you… So gentlemanly and charming... You were really questioning things tonight. You shook your head, refusing to think about these things any longer. Somehow, you were able to get to sleep, anxious for the next two days.
Steve, on his end, was feeling more or less the same. Staring up at his ceiling as he repeated his interaction with you earlier in the afternoon. Steve still felt terrible about his actions towards you years prior, and he hoped that you'd forgive him. He then thought back to when Robin came to him about your dilemma, about your lie, how unbearable your mother was, and that he owed her and needed to help her best friend. Steve was a bit hesitant, more confused than anything, but he wanted to help you; as said before, he wanted to make up for the things he had said to you.
Steve tried to sleep, but it was hard. Turning to his bedside table, he reached over and grabbed the notepad, re-reading the rules. Flipping the paper up to re-read your address that he got from Robin, and next to it in red ink from his favorite pen were the words, 'six pm'. What was he going to wear? Is this going to be a fancy dinner, or should he just wear jeans and a T-shirt? Button-up? Should he bring you and your mom flowers, so it was believable? You and he didn't really talk about how to really act in front of your parents, except to act like 'we like each other.' You even gave rom-com movies as an example. Steve understood this was going to be acting, pretending to like each other, to love each other. And Steve knew that this was going to be awkward, but he also knew that you weren't asking for much. He could tell you were serious, dead serious, and you probably would've done anything to keep your lie a reality. Steve chuckled lightly to himself, thinking back to the making of the rules, it felt like a school project. Shutting his eyes, Steve fell asleep, preparing himself for his diner meet-up with you the next day.
~~~
Steve let out a shaky breath, fiddling with the two bouquets of flowers in his hands; one of Lilies for your mother, and one of the roses for you. He didn’t know what flowers were your favorite, so he chose roses, and he hoped you’d like them. Steve then double-checked his outfit, making sure his nice blue button-up was wrinkle-free, along with his dark jeans. Steve made sure while he was planning his outfit that the shirt wasn’t the hue ‘true blue,’ the color haunted him and reminded him way too much of his old Scoops Ahoy outfit. He only hoped he could play it cool and make everything believable for you. Staring down at his shoes, he went through your conversation with him yesterday.
"I just want to warn you, my mom is really overbearing. She'll probably ask us a lot of questions about our relationship, so we have to be sure we are on the same page here." You spoke, swirling your straw around in your milkshake as you sat across from Steve at a small diner.
Steve gave you a small awkward smile, "So, what did you have in mind?" He asked and you shrugged.
"Well, let me know if you want to change anything. But, I had told her that we had been together for a while, so let's just tell her we've been together for like six months. That's believable."
Steve nodded, agreeing, "Sounds good, where'd we meet?"
You shrugged, "I don't know, where do you want us to meet?"
Steve paused, thinking before he did his one shrug, "The arcade? I mean, I bring Henderson and his friends there sometimes when I babysit them." He suggested and you hummed, pursing your lips as you thought before nodding.
You furrowed your eyebrows, taking in his sentence, “Babysit? You babysit that Henderson kid and his friends? When did that happen?” You asked, taking a bite of your fries.
“It started a few years ago. I just sort of fell into the job really. You know, driving them places and then driving them back. Giving them life advice…” Steve took a bite of his burger, “I may be a pretty shitty boyfriend, but… Turns out I’m a pretty damn good babysitter.” He laughed awkwardly, as he ate, making you let out a chuckle. Steve paused briefly, rolling his eyes, “Yeah, I’d laugh too. Great with kids, but terrible with the ladies.”
You waved your hand, shaking your hand, “No, no! I’m not laughing at that… It’s just… Life advice? You? No offense, but I just don’t think that ends well.” If anything, Steve knew how to make you laugh.
Steve couldn’t help but smile, stirring his melting chocolate milkshake with his red straw, “Yeah, I see what you mean. But, I give great hair advice!” He exclaimed proudly, making you chuckle once more.
“I’m sure you do.” You spoke up, your laughter dying down as the two of you just stared at each other, until Steve cleared his throat and you looked down at your milkshake. Glancing at Steve one more time, you thought you saw the softest pink shade appear on his cheeks. You shook her head, wishful thinking.
“So…” Steve began, “The arcade...” Steve prompted and you nodded, getting back on topic.
"Y- Yeah," You took a sip of your milkshake, "I like the arcade. Been there before. My mom would believe it." You agreed, "I- I don't know what else she's going to ask. We might have to make stuff up while we go."
Steve nodded, taking a sip of his own milkshake, "That's fine. I'm good at making things up. You know, from my partying days."
"You don't party anymore?" You asked, tilting your head to the side, as Steve nodded.
"Yeah, don't really have time for that anymore. I spend most of my time at work, or watching Henderson, or..." Steve paused, glancing down at the table as you stared at him confused, and slightly worried. "Just trying to survive life, I guess." He tried to joke, giving you a nervous smile before running a hand through his hair. You watched him run his fingers through his soft brown hair, almost in slow-motion, wishing you could just reach out and touch it. But, you had other important things to pay attention to, like this fake dating scheme.
You cleared your throat, having a slight inkling of what Steve was talking about, Robin had mentioned it to you before. It reminded you of a fairy tale, something not possible in this world; magic and whatnot. But you had seen the scar on Robin's calf, and Robin would never lie to you. "Robin told me about that." You spoke up softly, causing Steve to glance over at you, "She said you had gone through a lot over the past few years. Dealing with the... Side Down or something... I forgot the name." You finished, as Steve's eyes widened.
"She told you?" His voice was filled with shock.
You nodded, "Yeah... She tells me everything." You explained and Steve nodded, biting his lip as he looked away from you, a sad look in his eyes. “I’m sorry, I- I shouldn’t have brought that up.” You apologized, but Steve shook his head.
“No, it’s fine. Don’t worry.” It was silent, tension high in the air, almost suffocating you as you regretted bringing up something so traumatic. Steve, however, broke the silence, clearing his throat nervously before speaking up again, "So... Is there anything I should bring to dinner?” He asked you, looking back at you, as he took another bite of his burger.
You thought for a second, glancing around the room before shrugging, "I don't know. You've dated before. What do you usually bring to family dinners?" You asked, before finishing your milkshake completely.
"Well," Steve began, clearing his throat again, as he felt slightly embarrassed, "I've only had one, and I’ve brought flowers, candy, a bear once, you know, those romantic, sappy types of things."
You nodded, dabbing your lips with a napkin, "Well, you don't have to bring anything if you don't want to, but my mom loves Lilies. She thinks their scent can rejuvenate her skin or something…" You rolled your eyes.
Steve couldn't help but chuckle a little, feeling a bit more comfortable as he smiled slightly, "That's- That's good to know."
Letting out a breath, Steve raised his hand up and knocked on the door. Looking down at the cobble steps of the open porch, the door opened, revealing your mother. Your mom's smile widened at the sight of Steve, immediately stepped aside to let him in. Steve smiled awkwardly as your mom shut the door, turning to him.
"You must be Steve! It's a pleasure to meet you. I'm Y/N's mom, Mary, but you can just call me 'mom'." She exclaimed happily as Steve gave her a polite smile, realizing that you were right and that your mom was a bit overwhelming. Your mom then noticed the flowers in his hand, placing her hands on her chest as she gasped. "Are those for me?" She asked and Steve nodded, handing them to her. "They are my favorite!"
"Your daughter told me you liked them," Steve mentioned as your mom sighed after sniffing the lilies, subconsciously petting the white petals.
"Speaking of my daughter..." She then turned towards the stairs. "Y/N! Your boyfriend is here!" She yelled up the stairs, her tone sharp, but still holding that excitement, causing you to quickly walk out onto the landing, a blush spreading on your face.
Steve froze. There you stood, wearing a very nice outfit, a little bit nicer than what you usually wore, and you even did your hair. You looked very pretty and Steve's heart skipped a beat as your eyes met his, and you gave him a gentle smile. "Hi," You whispered quietly, shyly, and Steve returned the gesture, clearing his throat before speaking as he felt his mouth dry up slightly.
"Hey, Y/N." He greeted you before handing you a bouquet of roses from behind his back. "These are for you."
You couldn't help but let your smile widen, taking the flowers in your hands, staring down at the perfect twelve roses as you felt your heart begin to race, your stomach twisting anxiously. After taking in the familiar scent of the roses, you looked up at Steve and he smiled down at you, "Thank you, Steve. They're beautiful." Your cheeks flushed, and you couldn't help but feel slightly embarrassed by the whole thing.
Steve rubbed the back of his neck, "No problem, sweetheart."
'Man,' You thought, as your face began to flush wildly from his nickname for you, 'He's a good actor.'
Your mother then ruined whatever moment you were both having, snatching your bouquet from you and giving Steve a smile. "Well, dinner isn't ready yet, so we can get settled down at the table until it is. I'm going to put these in some water." You both followed your mom to the dining room, where Steve pulled out your chair for you, waiting until you were situated before pushing you in and sitting down next to you. He gave you a small smile and you smiled back, hoping that the night would go smoothly. "I hope you're hungry because I made your favorite; fried chicken."
Your jaw dropped in surprise, "Oh wow, thank you, Mom." You said, pretty shocked and Steve chuckled at your reaction. "I thought you were going to make your meatloaf?"
She gave you a shrug, "I changed my mind, this is a special occasion after all." She smirked, giving you and Steve a wink as you groaned slightly after she left for the kitchen.
Your dad then entered the room, took his usual seat, opening his newspaper. Steve went to stand up to greet him but your father stopped him. "Don't need to stand up, son." He spoke gruffly, nudging his thick-framed glasses up the bridge of his nose, "You have my blessing."
Steve's mouth opened and closed like a fish out of water as he sat back down. You covered your face with your hands, your face feeling hot as your embarrassment flowed over you in giant waves. Steve noticed this, his small, embarrassed smile turning into a frown as he looked at you. He hoped the night would move swiftly, for your sake. Wanting to comfort you, he reached out and placed a hand on your back, gaining your attention. You sat up, dropping your hands from your face and looking over at Steve, reveling in the way his hand gave off a soothing warmth. He then gave you a reassuring smile and you managed to give him one back.
Taking a bit of a risk, Steve reached over to grab the bottom of your chair, giving you a grin and wink and with a small tug, he drew the chair closer to him. You gave Steve a look, smiling at his ridiculousness just before your mom came back into the dining room, holding a giant plate of homemade fried chicken; wearing pink oven mitts with little red hearts on them. Bringing back some sides, and placing them on the table as well, she sat down across from you before looking at both you and Steve expectantly.
"So," She trailed off, "Tell me about yourself, Steve."
"Me?" He questioned, as your mom nodded enthusiastically.
"Yes, tell us about yourself. What you do for a living, and so on," Your mom exclaimed as she began to put food on her plate, scooping mashed potatoes on her plate; next to a fried chicken thigh. "I want to know more about the young man who is dating my daughter."
"Alright," He said, putting chicken, green beans, and mashed potatoes on his own plate, you following beside him. "Well, I was born and raised here, graduated high school, work at the Family Video down the block, and occasionally babysit a few kids." He listed off casually, as your mom's brows furrowed slowly the more she listened to his sentence.
"You work at Family Video?" She questioned suspiciously, almost as if she was judging him, and you knew she was. Many times your mother wanted you to marry a rich man. It was irritating.
Steve nodded, swallowing a bite of food as you chewed slowly beside him, "Uh, yes. I work there." He answered simply, and your mother frowned, before getting back to her food.
"Well, I can only hope that you'll find another better-paying job once you marry my daughter?" She hinted, throwing some shade, as Steve took his turn to frown slightly, but did well hiding his true feelings; as you turned to stare down at your food. The four of you ate in an awkward silence, as you tried to think of something to say. Finally, after several minutes of silence, your mom decided that it was time to speak up again. "Well, Steve," She swallowed her food, "What do your parents do for work?" She asked, and Steve looked up from his food, pausing his eating to answer.
"My father's a business owner, and my mother and him travel for work." He answered simply, trying to get past the subject of his parents as your mother seemed pleased with the answer.
You felt terrible. You didn't mean to upset him or to make him uncomfortable. You began to regret asking Steve to do this. You should've just told your mother the truth. It would have been the right thing to do. Glancing over at Steve, he slowly ate his food, though he seemed alright, his eyes told a different story. Those brown eyes stared sadly down at his plate, upset and probably embarrassed that he had to explain himself to your mother. Slowly reaching over, you placed your hand over Steve's on his leg, giving his hand a slight squeeze. Steve glanced up at you, his eyes softening at the sight, as he gave your hand a light squeeze in return.
After dinner, your mom led you and Steve to the living room where the three of you sat on the couch, and your father sat in his recliner. Your mother then reached over to grab your baby photos, making you groan as your mother handed the book to Steve. “Mom, please, no-”
"This is Y/N when she took her first steps, oh, and this is her when she lost her first tooth!" Your mother exclaimed, interrupting you as Steve smiled, looking at the pictures of you as a young kid. You felt your cheeks flush once more as your mother continued to show Steve picture after picture of you. Steve glanced over at you, before taking your hand in his placing both his and your intertwined hands in his lap.
You began to pay attention to Steve's hand in yours rather than your mother’s ramblings on how you used to have a baby blanket named ‘Blakie,’ but focusing on how small your hand was in his. His palm was warm and calloused, fitting perfectly into yours. It calmed your nerves slightly as you listen to your mom describe every single photo, your eyes never leaving Steve's hand in yours.
"So, Steve," Your mother then spoke up, gaining your attention along with Steve's as she shut the photobook. "How many kids are you thinking of having?"
You felt like your heart dropped to the pit of your stomach, completely notified as Steve almost choked on his own spit, clearing his throat as his own cheeks turned pink; his grip on your hand tightening slightly. "Uh, well, I think we're a bit too young to plan that out right now." He came up with an excuse on the spot.
Your mom let out a small sigh, disappointed, "Well, if you ever decide to have children, you better start planning soon. But not before getting married. I don't want any grandkids out of wedlock."
He nodded, still unsure of what to do or say. "Will do, ma’am..."
Your mother gave Steve a smile and nodded happily, letting out a sigh as your mother stood from the couch, "Well, I'm going to get dessert ready. How about you two love birds go upstairs for a while?" She asked, but it seemed more like a command as you quickly stood, pulling Steve off the couch with a slight tug. You didn’t care what she was insinuating, you just wanted to get away from her. You quickly made it out of the living room, making it halfway up the stairs before your mom called out to you and Steve again, "Behave yourselves, you two." She teased, as you ducked your head and led Steve to your room.
Shutting the door, you ran a hand through your hair, before pacing your room as Steve stuffed his hands in his jeans pockets, taking in your room before looking over at you. "I can't believe her." You exclaimed, "She is so... Upsetting!"
Steve laughed softly, shaking his head. "Yeah, she really is." He agreed with you, watching you pace around your room. "You really weren't kidding when you said that she was overbearing."
You stopped, letting out a sigh, and turning to Steve, your shoulders dropped, "I'm sorry about her. I'm sorry in general. I mean, I should've just told her the truth. Instead, I’ve put you in this awful situation.” You crossed your arms around yourself.
"Hey, don't beat yourself up about it," Steve replied, walking over to you. "I agreed to do this."
You only shook your head, moving past him and sitting down on the edge of your bed. "Yeah, but I wasn't expecting her to be so pushy." You mumbled, looking down at your hands in your lap.
Steve sat next to you, grabbing your hand in his own. "Y/N, hey, look at me." You didn’t really want to, but you looked up at Steve, meeting his eyes as he held your hand gently in his, his thumb rubbing softly over your knuckles. "It's going to be fine. If anything, I should be thanking you for asking me to do this."
You looked at Steve, furrowing your eyebrows, "What? Why?"
"Well, because now I know that you like Bon Jovi." He said as if it was a common fact, pointing at your large poster of the band. “And that you like Return Of The Jedi,” Steve then pointed to the wall beside him, the wall adorned with a giant poster of the movie, featuring R2D2, C3PO, and the Ewoks. “I just love those teddy bears.”
You couldn't help but laugh, covering your mouth with your free hand as you did so. "Teddy bears? That is so random!" You laughed out as Steve chuckled lightly too.
Steve then looked over at you, his eyes widening slightly as he watched you laugh. Steve's mind went blank, as he only focused on you; your sweet laugh, the smile on your face, everything about you just seemed so perfect to him. God, you were beautiful. As your laughter subsided, his eyes traveled down to your lips before looking back up at your bright eyes. You were still smiling as you looked over at Steve, pausing slightly as you tilted your head to the side.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" You asked, noticing Steve's expression, so gentle; soft.
You watched as his lips parted slightly as if hesitating to tell you the reason behind his behavior. After a few seconds of hesitation, Steve opened his mouth. "Because..."
"Because... What?" You asked curiously, albeit worried.
"Because..." He paused and took a deep breath, staring down at his hand in yours in his lap, "Because I think I might have feelings for you." He finally managed to say, his voice barely above a whisper.
You blinked, your smile faltering as your eyes widened slightly. "Oh." Was all you could manage to say as Steve's eyes drifted away from yours, feeling as if someone was just squeezing his heart, squeezing it until it burst in his chest.
"I'm sorry, it was stupid, I shouldn't have said-" He started apologizing, but you cut him off, reaching forward and placing your free hand on his arm briefly.
"No, no," You interrupted, "Don't apologize. Please." You pleaded. "Please don't apologize, Steve." You then looked down at your hand in his, "I really like you too, Steve."
"But..." He trailed off, having a feeling that there was something more, but you quickly looked up at Steve and shook your head.
"No, Steve. There are no 'buts'." You insisted firmly, giving him a reassuring smile as you saw the hurt flash across his eyes. "I like you too. I... Uh, I have since high school."
Steve furrowed his eyebrows, "But I bullied you..." He said sadly.
You nodded, "Yeah, I liked you before you did that." You glanced up at him, "And I still like you now. I was a bit nervous about you helping me because of the huge crush that I have on you." You confessed, looking back down.
Steve let out a deep breath of relief, becoming overwhelmingly happy, relaxing slightly under your touch as you squeezed his hand gently, "Well, that's a relief, believe it or not, I've had terrible luck in the ladies department for the past couple of years." He tried to joke, making you laugh lightly as you felt your cheeks become pretty warm.
"Yeah, I know. Robin's told me." And Steve sighed dramatically, letting his forehead fall on your shoulder, mentally noting to talk to Robin later, "She told me all about how much of a loser you are." You couldn't stop giggling.
Steve couldn't help but start to laugh too, lifting his head, "The whiteboard?" He asked, and you nodded, covering your mouth with your free hand again, as you nodded.
"The whiteboard." You confirmed, as Steve just shook his head, gazing down at you with a smile.
"Can I kiss you?" Steve then asked, making your eyes widen slightly as your laughing died down again, causing Steve to panic for a second. "Unless you don't want to. Sorry if that was a little forward, I guess I didn't even think about-"
You placed a finger against his lips, his lips becoming smushed against your finger, effectively shushing him. "Steve, I would love for you to kiss me." You said, a shy smile creeping onto your face.
Steve smiled at you, leaning in closer to you, his nose brushing lightly against yours. "You know," He began, his voice low as you stared into his hypnotizing brown eyes, "We're breaking a lot of our rules." He finished as you shuffled slightly.
You bit your lip nervously, "Are we?" You asked, glancing down at his lips.
He simply smirked, and suddenly closed his eyes, slowly bringing his lips down to meet yours. Your body tingled as he pressed his lips to yours, one arm wrapped tightly around your waist as the other rested on your cheek, holding you close to him as your hands wrapped around his neck, your fingers tangling themselves into his thick brown hair.
After what seemed like hours, Steve pulled away, resting his forehead against yours as he exhaled heavily. "That was... Wow." He breathed. His breath ghosted against your skin, making goosebumps run along your body, "God, okay, one more time." He practically begged quietly, running his thumb over your cheek before you pressed your lips to his once more. You melted into his embrace, you let out a little giggle as he kissed you repeatedly, pressing peck after peck to your lips, cheeks, forehead, and nose. Pulling away, you couldn’t help but smile, Steve mimicking you. "I don't think I will ever get tired of kissing you," Steve admitted, a soft grin forming on his face.
"Me neither." You whispered, smiling softly as he grinned at you.
"We should probably go see if dessert is ready," Steve muttered and you rolled your eyes, not really wanting to go back downstairs.
"I was thinking we should skip dessert, and watch a movie..." You suggested with a shrug, as Steve couldn't help but grin. “I’ve got Return Of The Jedi on tape.”
"Marry Me." Steve sighed out, before tackling you back onto the bed, making you erupt into a fit of laughter.
By the end of the month, you had a happy mother, a lie that never had to be revealed, and a real boyfriend that made your heart soar. Now, Steve didn't immediately become your boyfriend. After the dinner with your parents, Steve wanted to go on a proper date with you; taking you to a diner and getting to know each other better. By the end of the month, you moved out of your mom's house and moved into Steve's parent's house, looking for an apartment out of Hawkins. And moving there wasn’t really a problem, seeing as Steve’s parents were never there. You never thought that your fake dating would turn into such an amazing relationship, but as you gazed up at Steve's sleeping form beside you as you curled into his arms, you knew that you wouldn't trade any of it for anything in the world.

You were a bombshell in every sense of the word. Beautiful, blonde, stylish. Wherever you went, heads turned and eyes widened as men and women alike stared in awe at you. It was quite the ego stroke to get that kind of attention.
But there was much more to you than looks. You had many passions and dreams to keep your spirits high. The skills you had in makeup were professional-level, you had a deep love of painting, and you were a hardcore fan of all things rock-and-roll. It felt like there was a music video going on in your head, constantly spinning you around with the fun tunes you loved so much.
Everything that made you the way you were caught the attention of two other blondies. Marko and Paul, you adoring lovers. It was at a record store where you met the two of them. Your hand fell on a Van Halen record, as did the hand of another shopper. To your surprise, the other person interested was a lot like you. Blond hair, blue eyes, and dressed like someone in a rock band.
You were immediately in love with the gorgeous stranger, and the look in his eyes told you he felt the same.
As if that weren’t already amazing, it got even better. A shorter boy with long curls dressed in leather and patches came up to him, holding some cassette tapes to show off. His words were cut short when he saw what had caught his friend’s gaze.
You didn’t think it was possible to fall in love twice in a matter of seconds, but it turned out to be so. It was just meant to be.
Marko and Paul swept you off your feet in no time. They asked you out on three-person dates to the boardwalk almost every night. Even if it was the same location, there was always something new and exciting to do. Sometimes they’d take you to romantic dinners and let you get your favorite foods. Sometimes they’d show you the wildest rides at the theme park. You had a growing collection of stuffed animals from all the carnival games they had mastered.
When it first started out, you worried that one of them would get jealous of the other. That they would start fighting over you and insist you pick one of them. It was your worst nightmare, as you couldn’t possibly imagine having one of them instead of both. Thankfully, they worked so well together giving you equal attention and love. You were more than happy to give that love back.
The true challenge in your relationship was learning they were vampires.
It was a miracle that you took it so well in the long run. They were true, honest-to-God monsters that hunted and devoured humans for sustenance, yet you still longed to be with them. Paul was still that lovable goofball who liked to dance around at concerts with you. Marko was still the artistic soul with a sense of playfulness and mischief. You would never stop loving them, and it relieved them both to know they hadn’t driven you away.
The three of you had a true bond, and it was about to get stronger.
They had invited you over for a night in at their cave hideout. You practically lived there at that point, having a special room in one of the alcoves that was full of your stuff. Band posters, makeup, slim, black outfits, leather jackets, rollers, and a mountain of pillows and blankets to keep you warm in the chilly cave. It was so nice to be able to call it your second home.
Marko and Paul were eagerly waiting for you on the couch, visibly perking up when you stepped into the room. It warmed your heart to be so wanted.
“There’s my principessa!” Marko cooed, reaching out to take your hand and plant a kiss on your knuckles. It always got you going whenever he spoke his mother tongue.
“Hey, Sugar! You’re lookin’ fine as hell tonight~” Paul purred, eyeing you up and down in hunger.
You giggled flirtatiously at their sweet words. They always knew exactly what to say to make you feel good. You all but melted into their embrace as they got up from their spot and held you in their arms.
"Hello, my loves," you greeted them, kissing Paul's cheek, and then Marko's. "Where are we going for date night today?"
For a moment, your boys were silent. There was a visible shift in their mood, any sweetness turning sultry as they eyed you hungrily. You knew that look very well. It meant pleasure was going to come your way.
"Actually, we were hoping to…stay in tonight~" Marko said.
"Yeah! We actually have a surprise set up in your room~" Paul whispered, leaning in close to nibble on your ear.
Shivers ran down your spine from the excitement building up inside. You didn't want to waste a second, so you let the two of them lead you from the lobby and down the hall to your special room. The beating of your heart was getting faster as the anticipation built up.
When you finally arrived, your excitement only grew stronger.
The room was decorated beautifully. Rose petals scattered, candles illuminating the space, a silky, red blanket spread over your bed. Paul’s boombox was propped up on the nightstand and playing music from your favorite romantic rock station.
“Do you know what today is, baby~?” Marko whispered in your ear, wrapping his arms around your waist as he did so.
You shook your head, as you weren’t sure what the special occasion was. Paul snickered as he nuzzled your neck.
“It’s the one-year anniversary of us telling you that we’re vampires. We wanted to surprise you….and offer you something as a present~”
Your eyes widened as reality washed over you. It wasn’t a secret that the boys wanted you to become one of them. It had been on your mind for quite a while now, but you wanted them to be the ones to decide when the time was right. They were savoring you for who you were as a human, but they adored the idea of spending eternity with their lover.
They stared at you with such intensity. Such passion. You could tell how badly they wanted to claim you in every way. How could you possibly refuse?
As the opening notes of the next song started to play, you sweetly asked for them to take you.
So long, I've been looking too hard
I've been waiting too long
Sometimes I don't know what I will find
I only know it's a matter of time
Paul was the first to kiss you, caressing your cheek as his lips met yours. You loved the way he smiled into each kiss he gave you, expressing how happy he was to be with a woman like you. The two of you worked together to remove your jackets and shoes, already feeling too hot with your clothes on.
Marko stole you away for his own kisses and helped you slip off your top and your skirt. He loved it when you wore skimpy outfits under your trusty leather jacket. It made him act extra handsy. You couldn’t stop yourself from giggling as he nipped playfully at your lip.
When you love someone
When you love someone
It feels so right, so warm and true
I need to know if you feel it too
With all three of you naked and eager for more, the boys pulled you down on the bed. They absolutely spoiled you with affection, Paul running his tongue along your exposed nipple while Marko sucked at your neck to bruise you with hickies. Sighs fell from your mouth as you relaxed into their touch. They knew just what you liked.
“Lemme fuck you, Sugar. I need you so goddamn bad~” Paul purred. You nodded eagerly, and Marko helped position you so you were leaning up against his strong chest. He pawed at your breasts, holding you close and savoring your body.
Paul was practically salivating while lining himself up to your pussy. The tip of his cock rubbed over your clit, teasing you just a bit. It made you mewl and shiver with desire. Your bottom lip stuck out, giving a silent plea for him to finally fuck you.
Maybe I'm wrong
Won't you tell me if I'm coming on too strong?
This heart of mine has been hurt before
This time I want to be sure
“Shhhhh babygirl, I gotcha~” he cooed as he slid right in. The two of you moaned out, both of you overwhelmed by the pleasure. Marko snickered into your neck as he watched all the fun play out. You could feel his own cock pressing against your ass and his fingers teasing your hole.
“Ooooh Paulie…yes~” you moaned out. He filled you so perfectly as if your bodies were meant to be together. Without even thinking, you wrapped your legs around his waist, and pulled him in closer. Behind you, Marko was keeping you close as well, toying with every sweet, sensitive spot you had.
I've been waiting for a girl like you to come into my life
I've been waiting for a girl like you, your a love that will survive
I've been waiting for someone new to make me feel alive
Yeah, waiting for a girl like you to come into my life
Paul slipped his tongue past your lips, kissing you deeply to express his lust. It made you dizzy as your head clouded, the only thought on your mind being how good the boys made you feel. Meanwhile, you could hear the sound of Marko grunting in your ear while he pushed his lube cock into your ass. The sensation of getting filled even more was making you tremble and shake.
“God fuckin’ damn, I love this ass~” Marko growled. “Like a vice grip on my cock….mmmh…makes me wanna keep you like this forever~”
If all went well tonight, he could possibly fulfill his wish. You wanted nothing more than to feel the embrace of your two lovers all night long. Every night could be like this. Three vampires ravishing one another as mates and making the most of immortality. The mere thought only added to your pleasure.
You're so good
When we make love it's understood
It's more than a touch or a word can say
Only in dreams could it be this way
Marko and Paul moved perfectly together, matching each other’s pace of thrusting in both your holes. Their moans were only turning you on more. Your voice mixed with both of theirs, singing out your pleasure. It only encouraged them to keep it up.
“Oooh amore mio….sei tutto per me~” Marko whispered in your ear as he fucked you. He always said the most romantic things in Italian. It never failed to make you blush.
“F-Fuck….shit…I l-love…love you, Sugar~” Paul moaned, barely able to form a full sentence. Still, it was cute to see him so intoxicated from your body.
When you love someone
Yeah, I really love someone
Now, I know it's right
From the moment I wake up 'til deep in the night
There's nowhere on earth that I'd rather be than holding you tenderly
You couldn’t possibly last much longer. With the way they stuffed you and filled you up, your body was getting closer and closer to the release you needed so badly. Your legs tightened around Paul while you reached around to caress Marko’s chiseled face. It was like your body was screaming for them.
“Marko! Paul! Oooh god! FUCK!!” you cried out. The waves of ecstasy came crashing down on you, and it was absolute perfection. Your boys were quick to follow, both of them cumming deep inside your body together. Their animalistic growls rang out as they filled you to the very brim.
The three of you collapsed onto the bed, panting and glistening from the intense fucking you had gone through. A lazy smile painted your face and your mind and body went absolutely fuzzy from the afterglow. You were incredibly grateful to have not one but two lovers that always made you cum.
I've been waiting for a girl like you to come into my life
I've been waiting for a girl like you, your a love that will survive
I've been waiting for someone new to make me feel alive
Yeah, waiting for a girl like you to come into my life
“Now then~” Marko said, interrupting the peaceful moment. “How about we give you that gift we mentioned?”
You perked up as Paul slipped away for just a moment to grab a familiar-looking wine bottle. Red jewels glimmered in the candlelight, catching your eye. The two of them smiled as they handed you the drink.
“It’s got blood from both of us in it,” Paul explained. “That way we’ll both be claiming you. Even when we’re apart, you’ll always have us with you”
I've been waiting for a girl like you, I've been waiting
Won't you come into my life?
It was all so incredibly romantic. Your heart swelled with love for Marko and Paul. They were so good to you. They really were your soul mates, and you never wanted to experience life without them by your side. As you uncorked the bottle, the sweet scent of their blood teased your nose. This was really happening. You would be a vampire.
There was no hesitation as you took a sip.
Tumblr media
You were still a bombshell. Though the sunlight was your enemy and the night brought you inhuman powers, your beauty had followed you into your new, undead life. The rocker look was still your style, but now there was a sense of mystic charm to your personality. People still stopped and stared, but now you could lure them to follow you.
Lure them away and quench your thirst for blood.
And all the while, Paul and Marko stayed by your side. They were amazing teachers, showing you all the ropes for using your powers. Whether it was flying in the sky or fighting hunters, they cheered you on. You knew you were going to love them forever, and you would enjoy every second of it.

Brains & Brawn- Chapter 5: Spades
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You watched Chishiya rest for a bit while trying to blink away the throbbing hangover feeling  you had. He looked incredibly vulnerable, you thought.
This was the first time both of you had slept overnight in the room. You almost laughed at the irony. First, it was you avoiding Chishiya. Then it was him awkwardly trying to give you space until he bribed you with drinks.
He was a man who knew the way to your heart.
The sun reflected off his face in a way that made him look heavenly. It felt sinful to admire him while he wasn’t aware of it. The light highlighted his blonde hair, which you noticed was dyed by the black showing his roots growing in.
He was so easy on the eyes that you felt your face start to flush. You almost forgot the cruelty he once showed you. You chastised yourself for this, you may have let him buy you drinks but you weren’t going to harbor a crush for a man like this. Right?
You tentatively hopped out of bed, trying your best to be quiet. You rummaged through your closet for a change of clothes, before settling on an all black two-piece bikini with a sheet cover-up. You heard Chishiya start to stir.
You turned to watch as he silently opened his eyes and blinked at you.
“Good morning,” you said awkwardly.
He ignored your greeting, and looked around the room. He seemed faintly surprised that he was there for some reason.
“I didn’t mean to stay here,” he finally said.
“It’s expected. I mean Hatter wanted us in this situation, it’s more surprising it didn’t happen earlier,” was your reply.
“I only meant to bring you back here. It was late, and I had been drinking so I wanted to rest before leaving. I didn’t plan on staying overnight.” Chishiya seemed truthful for once, and looked as awkward as you felt.
You decided to relieve Chishiya from the awkwardness of the situation by letting him know he could stay with you. You had avoided each other long enough, and he proved he could be civil with you. However, you mostly decided on this because you felt the threat of Hatter looming overhead.
It would be unpleasant if Hatter found you were disobeying his orders, and it was pure luck that you hadn’t had an executive meeting or run into him recently. Sure you were impulsive and did things before thinking, but you weren’t stupid enough to keep defying Hatter.
“Chishiya, you don’t have to avoid this room. We were forced into this situation, but we should try to make the best of it and be civil roommates.” You said as you walked to the coffee-maker to boil water.
Chishiya looked contemplative, but a slight smile grew on his face. His smile was perfectly fine, you noted, thinking of how Kuina compared it to a grimace earlier. More than fine actually. “Alright,” he said.
He went to sit at the desk, pulling out the taser he was working on.
“Did it get broken?” you asked out of curiosity.
He hummed in agreement. “At my last game.”
You left him as you went to find Kuina to spar with. To your surprise, you ran into Niragi with a woman on his arm.
“Hey! If it isn’t my favorite bitch,” he said, as if oblivious to the other woman.
You watched as she wrenched herself out of his grip, shooting you both a dirty look as she stormed away.
“Niragi! The same goes for you,” you smiled, looking for a topic to converse over. “How have your games been?”
Niragi’s face darkened briefly before he mimicked your smile, but it was too uncanny for someone who constantly risked their life in sadistic games. “Good— actually, pretty fucking amazing. I’ve never felt better.”
As he spoke, a chill of fear that was never there before rushed down your spine. He was too excited over it, and you saw a hungry look in his eye that you never noticed before.
“T-that’s great! I have to participate tonight in leading a group. My visa is expiring soon,” you stuttered, hating yourself for it.
“Hah! Sounds fun. Speaking of fun— how have things been going with blondie?” Niragi laughed at his nickname for Chishiya.
“It’s getting better. I think.”
“I bet 15000 yen that he sleeps with you.”
You were taken aback at Niragi’s suggestion. Seeing the look on your face, he continued sarcastically, “What? He’s a man sharing a room with a beautiful woman.”
You hit the back of his head playfully before he could say more and walked to find Kuina in the area she usually smoked at.
——————
You waited with the rest of the masses for Hatter to finish making his rousing speech for the Beach’s players participating in games that night. You had to admit, you hated Hatter but he was extremely good with crowd control.
He finished speaking, and players started splitting into groups. Hatter usually divided groups into 4 or 5, with one of each speciality composing a group to make it balanced, as well as a supervising executive.
You watched as a couple meandered over to your group. “#9?” they asked, and you nodded.
There should be one more you noted, and then you saw a familiar blonde making his way over to you. You watched in disbelief as he stood next to you calmly.
“Are you in group #9?” the woman in the couple asked.
Chishiya nodded, and cooly looked towards you. He made four players, and it didn’t look like anyone else was joining.
“Alright, let’s get this started,” you said and led them all to the convertible.
You were grateful that Tatta had such good taste in cars, and you drove to the game venue quickly. The car ride was spent in uncomfortable silence only broken by murmurs of the couple in the back. Chishiya was sitting shotgun next to you, and he was gazing out the window the entire ride.
You entered the venue with everyone, which took place in a high school football field with a line dividing the two sides. There were four phones left on the table when you entered, and four players who had already joined were waiting. You each reached for a phone.
GAME START
DIFFICULTY: FIVE OF SPADES
[CAPTURE THE FLAG]
NO WEAPON USE
TIME: 60 MINUTES
RULES:
PLAYERS MUST SPLIT INTO TEAMS OF FOUR AND PICK A SIDE OF THE FOOTBALL FIELD.
THERE IS A FLAG ON EACH SIDE WITH A CIRCLED SAFEZONE AROUND IT. EACH TEAM MUST TRY TO GET THE FLAG FROM THE OTHER SIDE. THE GAME IS CLEARED ONCE A TEAM GETS THE FLAG FROM THE OTHER SIDE AND BRINGS IT TO THEIRS.
OUTSIDE OF THE FLAG’S SAFEZONE, ONCE THE PLAYER CROSSES INTO THE OPPOSING TEAM’S TERRITORY THEY MAY BE TAGGED BY AN OPPONENT. TAGGED PLAYERS GO TO ‘JAIL,’ A ZONE BEHIND THE FLAG.
THEY MUST REMAIN IN ‘JAIL,” UNTIL A TEAMMATE TAGS THEM, AND ONLY FREED JAILED PLAYERS CAN WALK BACK TO THEIR SIDE SAFELY. THE TEAMMATE WHO TAGGED THEM CAN STILL BE TAGGED.
IF ALL MEMBERS OF ONE TEAM ARE IN ‘JAIL,” IT IS GAME CLEAR FOR THE OTHER TEAM.
ALL PLAYERS WILL BE ELIMINATED IF THERE IS NO CLEAR WINNER BY THE TIME LIMIT.
“So there’s two strategies,” Chishiya looked faintly amused after the game’s rules were read. “Go for the offensive and try to get the flag from the other side–”
“--Or tag all players from the other team,” a man that wasn’t from the Beach finished Chishiya’s sentence. He smirked wickedly at Chishiya, and turned to team with his friend.
“All from the Beach form a team?” you questioned, but it wasn’t really a question. The couple nodded, but Chishiya didn’t respond. “Chishiya?”
He sighed like he was doing you a favor, and resigned himself to be part of your team. You took the left side of the football field and waited for the rest of the players to walk on the right side.
While waiting, you found that the woman from the couple was a hearts player while her boyfriend played clubs.
“I’m not particularly good at anything,” he explained and winked, “But I have a knack for surviving.”
“I think we should just rush the other side as soon as the game starts,” you said slowly. The couple looked unsure, and you didn’t see Chishiya’s reaction. For you, it made the most sense. There was no better opportunity to catch the other team off guard, and you could end the game quickly if one of you made it to the flag zone.
“Is anyone here good at running?” Chishiya asked. You and the man raised your hands. You weren’t surprised at the implied lack of athletic prowess from Chishiya.
“Her and I,” Chishiya pointed at the woman, “Will serve more as distractions for the other team. (Name) and your boyfriend will focus on targeting the flag.”
“But what about the flag? If the other team does the same, someone should guard it,” the man protested. He didn’t seem too eager about being sent into the lion’s den. It was a smart thought from him, you noted frowning. You would have sent everyone from the team to the other side without a thought.
“Then a sprinter should stay to chase them down. (Name) should do it,” Chishiya replied. The man exhaled with disappointment. It was now clear that he wished to stay on this side. You realized that you didn’t know the names of the other players.
“Hey what are your names–” You were interrupted by the game start sound before you could continue talking further, and you watched as everyone rushed to the other side.
The other team wasn’t expecting the sudden attack, but even still the woman was chased down easily. You watched as Chishiya was targeted by the smirking guy from earlier. Chishiya was jogging lightly, but somehow hadn’t gotten tagged yet.
You turned your attention to the man who was supposed to be targeting the flag. He was almost there. So close. You almost cheered. You watched as his foot was about to step into the safe zone when he was suddenly yanked back by the smirking player.
How? He was targeting Chishiya. You drew your gaze to see Chishiya already heading towards the designated jail area where the woman was waiting.
With horror you realized that you were the only player standing on your side. The only player standing between life and death for you and three other people.

Eddie Munson x Secret Metalhead Reader Headcanon ft. your first kiss
Suggested by the lovely @crazygalore 🥰 sorry it took so long I work so much now🙃
Eddie Munson Masterlist
Other Masterlists
You looked nothing like a typical metalhead: you didn’t wear black, or chains, or pins of your bands. It was something you kept a secret, like this bonus side to your natural personality.
I’m talking pastel skirts, frilly tops, and fluffy pastel sweaters. Your wardrobe was 90% pastels, 5% sequins, and 5% black.
Complete sunshine disposition and everything: you speak to squirrels, birds, any time creature you cross paths with on your way to and from school (which you walk for the sake of speaking to tiny animals)
So, of course, when Eddie had gone to your house for the first time, your room hadn’t been a surprise: decorated with more pastels and sequins and frilly drapes and blankets.
What was a surprise was your little music station. He saw a Tears for Fears tape, a Blondie tape, and then underneath that was the kicker. Neatly hidden away from your parents and other visitors’ wandering eyes there were some familiar tapes, and a couple vinyls hidden away between the wall and your nightstand.
He lets out this loud scream that scares the ever loving shit out of you and makes you drop the textbook you were holding as you turn around to look at him.
“YOU’VE GOT “KILL ‘EM ALL” ON VINYL?!” You blinked rapidly and looked at him and then the vinyl in his hands. “Um… yeah.” You shifted a little.
You didn’t know why you were nervous about Eddie finding out you listened to rock music, you’d been so careful to keep it a secret for so long, and he’d busted you within five seconds of being in your room.
Of course, Eddie didn’t judge, instead he got this excited little kid look on his face as he asked if he could put it on. “We’re supposed to study…. But…. Okay.” The smile on his face had grown three sizes as he rushed over to your record player and put it on.
It wasn’t long before the two of you were having a headbanging contest, sitting criss-cross from one another. Eddie insists he won but you're almost positive it was you.
After a "heated" argument about who won, you fell back on the bed. "So- I've got a question." He turned over on his side once you'd both caught your breath and you repeated the action. "What is it?"
"I know all the stigma around it but.. why hide the fact that you like heavy metal?" He chuckled softly as you shrugged a little. "Partially because of my parents... they would freak out if they saw even one Metallica tape or record, I don't want to imagine what they'd do if they saw a whole collection... other than that im not sure, i mean, im trying to make my highschool experience as easygoing as i possibly can... keeping my head down and blending in is the best way to do that... can't blend in if I'm constantly blabbering about my love for 'Kill 'em All'... I’d like to be more expressive about it but… maybe I’m scared.” You shrugged a little.
No one had ever listened so intently when you spoke. But Eddie… Eddie was completely tuned in, staring directly into your eyes, giving you all of his attention. He seemed to understand where you were coming from. “Well… probably wise you keep it from your parents if they’re as weird about it as you say.” He’d hate for you to get in trouble over something as trivial as music. “As for the school thing… Y’know I guess I get it.. people at school are pretentious… but on the other hand… that goes against.. like everything I stand for so obviously I think you should be a little more open about it at school.”
You considered what he said, it made sense. “You don’t have to constantly talk about it to make your interest known. Of course, you don’t have to say it at all, really. Carry your favorite tapes around, you’d be surprised how relaxed you’ll feel knowing your favorite songs are on hand.” You hummed in thought and nodded slowly, you were pretty loose with your backpack, it would be easy for someone to come across the tapes, and then you could casually mention they were good and not say anything else.
On the outside looking in the idea seemed stupid, why have to carry it at all? But you were tired of pretending to only like Madonna or Michael Jackson, or whoever was popular at the time. So it made sense. You shrugged and nodded. “Yeah… I guess you’re right.” You smiled softly and kissed his cheek. “I’m gonna start doing that…”
Eddie nodded and then hummed. “Y’know- you could also… sit with the club at lunch if you Uh… ever need a break from your friends or whatever.” He was trying so hard to sound casual, but there was this hopeful tone in his voice that you found completely endearing. “Tomorrow?” You suggested, which obviously surprised him because his eyes widened and then he smiled widely. “Tomorrow. Cool.”
You smiled and nodded. “Cool.”
“Cool.” “Cool.” you looked at eachother and laughed softly. “Can I ask you something else?” You giggled and nodded. “Sure, why not?”
He nodded and seemed a little more hesitant to ask this question, clearing his throat and taking just a little longer to get it out, but eventually he just nodded and spit the words out. “Can I kiss you?”
Your cheeks went bright red and you only hesitated for a second before you nodded. "Yeah." You said softly, smiling at him as you fiddled with the sleeve of your sweater.
Eddie smiled more and nodded before he sat up on his elbow, looking down at you with a softer smile before he reached up and cupped your cheek with one hand before finally leaning down to press his lips to yours.
You'd kissed guys before, but none of those could even compare to kissing Eddie. He was soft but firm, kept your head still with his hand resting on your jawbone. Rather than shoving his tongue between your lips, he coaxed them open, gave you time to pull back if you didn't want the kiss to go any further.
Instead of tangling and fighting for dominance, he worked his tongue with yours, taking note of all the noises and tiny movements you made, memorizing your reactions whenever his free hand would wander, moving away if it seemed to be too much, tightening and lingering whenever you had a positive reaction.
Kissing Eddie was... exactly like what you would imagine kissing a Greek God like Athena would be like.
Let's just say the next day, and every day after that, your signature seat was right there by Eddie (or quite literally in his lap) instead of over by your slightly snobby friends.

➶◜◝➴
Laughter filled the voice call, Luca and You had been endlessly pranking the others. Even though some of them failed, but most of them actually worked. Everyone loves both of you, despite how many times you've been, pranking them numerous times. They still love both of you for it.
The sunshines of the day, not a day of your friends go without you pranking them, filling their days with laughter. There are also times when you made Luca and his genmates laughed uncontrollably because of something you did, they almost laughed for 5-10 minutes straight. Almost. But their stomach hurts that's for sure.
You enjoyed it tho nonetheless, but. Despite those moments, there are days when, Luca Kaneshiro. Your Beloved Mafia Leader, constantly seeking for your attention. Being more, clingy than usual.
And that day is today.
You trapped in his arms, not even budge to loosen his arms around you on the bed. You slowly raise up from the bed, looking down at Luca, who's sleeping beside you. Arms drapped over your lower waist, the moment you tried to move them away. You got pulled back down to the bed by Luca, earning a gasp from you.
"Luca, it's morning already. And don't do so suddenly.." You said slightly scolding him, Luca only hummed at your scold. "Luca.." you called his name, slowly turning yourself facing him. Gently rubbing your thumb across his cheek, "Wake up, we'll do whatever you want today, so.." the blondie slightly opened his eyes. Staring at you, with a mischievous glint.
"Mm.. anything, huh?" He said a little bit raspy since he just woke up, "Mhm.." you hummed softly as you softly moved away his hair that's covering his face. "Hmm.. anything, anything.." he repeated slightly slurring due to the drowsiness, you slightly chuckle at him and leaned in to kiss his nose. "Look at you, you could barely speak. Let's go wash our face." You said as you raise yourself back up, slightly pulling Luca's hand. "Mm, okay okay."
. . .
An hour have passed, both of you are now in the kitchen cooking breakfast. Well you are the one who's cooking actually, but Luca tried to help. He tried his best, you would give him kisses on the cheek as a thank you for helping you cook.
Luca sometimes would wrap his arms around your waist and give you kisses on your exposed neck, also as his thank you for cooking him breakfast along with a thank you for letting him help you. "Luca, becareful.. you'll get burned if you're this close to the stove." You warned him, only earning a small laugh from the blonde. "Getting burnt is nothing for me, I'm stronger than you think, babe" He said, and then right after that. He accidentally burnt himself, "OW-" "SEE? LUCA."
You scolded your lover, he sat down on a nearby chair. Looking like a kicked puppy, getting scolded by you is the least thing he like. "I'm sorry." He apologized, sound as if he's whimpering. You sighed softly, and pulled him into your arms. Patting his head, "I forgive you, but next time. You are not coming closer to me when I'm cooking, okay?" You warned the blonde, he nodded his head and snuggled closer to you as he wrapped his arms around your waist.
. . .
That was on day time, but on nighttime it's your turn that's being clingy on him.
"Do you have to go?" You asked him, didn't even realize that you look so, sad. You didn't want to bother him or anything, but you couldn't help it. His job is very dangerous, but you know he can do it well without you worrying.
But there are days when he came back home with a lot of injuries, you were so worried that you ended up crying as you patch up his wounds. Making him slightly panic, but like a sunshine he is, like a golden retriever. He immediately comfort you, telling you that his wounds are nothing. Tho it didn't help but, his comforting word calmed you down.
"Hey, it's okay, this wounds are nothing compared to your tears.. it hurts me when I see you cry, so don't cry okay..? I'll try not to get injured as I do my mission, is that convincing enough?"
. . .
That's that, but don't think this Mafia never get jealous, he does. But he just doesn't show them out, but his actions said other wise. If someone is flirting with you when it's so obvious that you had a lover? The guts they have to flirt Luca Kaneshiro's Lover? They're asking for a fight here.
You know Luca's signs when he's jealous, you have to get yourself out of the situation before Luca takes an action. "Luca! Let's go home shall we?" You said as you gently wrap your arms around him, his face that was scowling went back bright when you hugged him. "Okay, let's go home" he said as he shot one last glare at the person who's flirting with you.
You let out a sheepish laugh as you gently lead your Lover's face to you, "Luca, it's okay, I'm not bothered by it. Because I am yours, and I know you are way better than them." You said, making him slightly blush at your statement.
"Yeah, you're right. I'm way better than them!" He said as he scoop you up bridal style, making you slightly squeaked. "Luca! Put me down!" You said, but he didn't budge instead he just held you tighter and walk down the path so casually ignoring the stares that was given by the people around you.
"I'm glad that you're here." He said, sneaking a kiss on your cheek.
"Luca.."
"Love you, babe" He said with a big smile and let out a chuckle.
"Love you too Luca.."
