🤔 ma perché due versioni praticamente uguali? 👉🏻 #loschiaccianoci La sera della vigilia di Natale, Marie e il fratello Fritz aspettano impazienti di aprire i regali. Quando i genitori gli danno il via libera assaltano i vari pacchi. Ecco poi arrivare anche il loro padrino Drosselmeyer, un uomo ingegnoso quanto bizzarro nell’aspetto. È un genio, non c’è meccanismo che non sappia riparare. Ai bambini regala un sua invenzione: un castello in miniatura pieno di personaggi in movimento, c’è perfino il padrino stesso. Le figurine ballano, passeggiano, si fanno aria con il ventaglio, c’è perfino la musica e la luce nelle stanze. Peccato che ai bambini viene subito a noia, le figurine fanno gli stessi movimenti, meglio un soldatino che muovono a loro piacere. C’è un altro regalo però sotto l’albero: un omino dai bei vestiti, uno schiaccianoci. Fritz riesce a romperlo nel giro di pochi minuti, Marie allora lo prende per sé e lo cura amorevolmente. Quella notte però, mentre Fritz dorme, Marie vede lo schiaccianoci prendere vita e combattere contro il re dei topi. 👍🏻👎🏻 Marie è una bambina dolce e ubbidiente. Fritz è l’opposto della sorella, è abbastanza viziato e ingrato. In certe scene mi ha fatto venire il nervoso. 👍🏻 All’interno della storia c’è un’altra storia, quella dello schiaccianoci e del padrino. 👎🏻 Non capisco perché #alexanderdumas abbia scritto una seconda versione di questo libro praticamente uguale all’originale 😅 cambia giusto qualche parola e aggiunge qualche dettaglio. 👍🏻 Tra le due versioni preferisco quella di Dumas perché più fluida e dettagliata. Stories From A Daydream PT. 1

I awoke, less than peacefully, from my long nights rest to the sun shining directly into my eyes through a sizable slit in my bedroom blinds. This of course was due to one being missing, which was something I hadn’t decided was charming or annoying yet. As I sat up, rubbing the sandman’s gifts from my eyes, my focus was drawn back to the spot of my missing blind. A smile swept across my face. During the night we must have gotten a fresh downpour of snow. It was beautiful to behold. The pine trees sagged, struggling to bare this new load. Icicles hanged from the rafters and were slowly starting to melt; each new droplet glistening in the light. Mornings like this never ceased to make me feel alive again. Getting out of bed has always been a struggle for me, but waking up to a sight like that definitely made it easier. I unraveled myself from the sheets and promptly stood up and stretched. Every vertebrae in my spine seemed to thank me for it, snap, crackling, and popping away. I breathed in deeply with hope in my heart for a good day. I turned and gathered some blankets and made the journey to the living room. As my feet hit the oak wood floor a shiver rolled down my spine. Conserving energy is hard in a place that gets so cold, although there is nothing a nice fire and warm cup of tea can’t fix. I made my way down the hallway to the living room and draped my blankets over the top of the north facing couch. I then slid open the sliding glass door and gathered everything you need to start a fire: wood, kindling, and fire starter. My mind couldn’t help but wander, reminding me of the times he struggled to get a fire going for us. A smile crept upon my lips at the memory. In no time at all the fireplace was blazing and I stood daydreaming, watching the embers dance. It had been months since I had heard from him. I turned away from the flames and made my way to the kitchen to boil some water for my cozy morning cup of tea. I opted for a sweet citrus tea perhaps due to the fact that he was on my mind, but I would never admit it. With a warm mug in my hand I made my way back near the fire. Before I set my mug down on the coffee table, next to my copy of The Count of Monte Cristo, I made sure to get a good whiff of that citrusy aroma. I plopped onto the couch less than gracefully and wrapped myself up in my blankets. My blankets I say, but they were once his. He is a nagging thought on my mind this morning, but I sweep him away, picking up my book, eager to throw myself into the world of Alexander Dumas’ words.
