[LinkedUniverse AU]: Farore's Spirits - 8 / 9 Heroes and their Spirits.

Note: the sketch colours do not have any significant meaning and is mostly part of how I differentiate multiple characters on the same page.

Here are the original 2021 sketches that are part of the Farore's Spirits. This is a redrawing of the original Farore's Spirits which I did tease about back...on January 2022 but then stuff happened. And it has been sitting in my WIP folder since then. :')

This is for a headcanon / fun idea of the nine Heroes gaining an animal spirit companion which represents their strongest attributes. And they are all are originally "blessings" from Farore, though this may changed along with what Wild's role is with the new context from TotK. Hence why Wild's not included in this set.

Will I ever come back and finish these off? Mayhaps. It will be while though... :D

one of the good changes from episode one is the way the lead-up to their flight to camp is used also as a way to explore what grover's been through, how terrified he is of 'screwing up' a mission again, how much he kind of hates his job. because he befriends these kids, he's really just a kid himself, still, and then he has to lie to them and push them away for the mission as a whole, and aryan sells how much he just hates it. how convinced he is that getting only one of and not both of the people whose safety he's entrusted with to camp IS 'failure' and not 'as much success as could be expected, under the circumstances'. he's got this anxiety that stems from feeling older than and having more responsibility expected of him than the children he meets, befriends, and guides to camp, but he's not really older, not emotionally, not in terms of anything except raw years, which doesn't really mean as much as he thinks it does when, for instance, he was also seven for twice as long as a human boy. but he's surrounded by not just humans, but human hybrids who die super young, so that is the time scale he thinks on, and he DOES feel older and he does feel a responsibility! in the book he's basically out of the picture for this sequence, so i really enjoyed getting to see some stuff geared towards his past and his goals and his issues . hi sweetheart i always loved you and you're going to find a god who's spent thousands of years hiding from everyone but you, because you care about him more than anyone else ever, ever has, and when he dies you're gonna put what's left of his soul in your heart and i love you so much

#like mister kind of always about to cry and everyone can tell. did you know you're the only person your god wants to talk to #do you even know that yet #like his anxiety is always about his duty of care. towards his friends towards his community towards his faith #and he never feels like he can measure up because he's not a tough guy or a wily guy. he's just DEEPLY resoundingly nurturing #and he lives in adhd greek warrior town where everyone is FAST and BRAWWW so he thinks this is the wrong thing to be #and then he gets anxiety about his anxiety #etc. can you tell i always really related a lot to him #pjo

Wow.. It’s been so long, eh…

I’ve gone through quite a lot since about July ‘23. In brief, I finally had my uprising, and achieved more than I could have ever imagined since then. I’ve had huge progression accompanied by stagnation and regressions (no wonder 🥴). Up and down… and up - hop into the void; and up - lap around the oblivion of the so-called mind…

All in all, it’s been chaotic, beautiful, overwhelming, challenging, and full of growth and expansion. I’m truly proud of myself, and grateful for all the support I’ve had from my loved-ones (❔) not to mention the mighty divine power.

I’m in Türkiye since September ‘23 for many reasons like health, family and other personal stuff. It’s been and will be a long visit until about the end of February 2024 (‘till I go back to LA). And oh… I had my 16th right leg surgery on the 15th of November as I happened to rupture my knee ligaments on my 2nd week here. < laughs tragicomically > I’m still recovering, hardly but also quickly, I guess?

I would probably throw some more knick knacks here and there when I feel like expressing myself or updating my beloved (👁️) blog.

I’m mentally in the zone for art, inspiration and creation. I will do my best not to falter, that I can promise as one of my major New Year resolutions at the very least.

Remember, life goes on no matter freaking what. Time operates impeccably, relentlessly.

Let’s challenge that bitch but also flow with it.

Let’s breathe consciously and purposefully:

Allow our deepest desires sink in to fire us up for the upcoming year.

Random headcanon time

Warriors was in Honor Guard, which is a group of people who perform ceremonies and rituals like honors at a funeral or a change of command. Honor guardsmen have to have and maintain the sharpest dress and appearance and they have special dress uniforms that are flashier and fancier than typical dress uniforms. That’s why Warriors is the way he is with his appearance and why he has the bright blue in his outfit.

Wind is ALWAYS hungry. He is a growing teenage boy! He gets super embarrassed when his voice cracks. He has one single hair growing under his nose and is VERY proud of his “mustache.” Sometimes Wind goes through typical teenage episodes of being moody broody “I’m dark and mysterious and my middle name is angst,” but it isn’t long before he’s back to his normal goofy pirate self.

Time may be the oldest, but he’s not the most experienced at leading troops. He’ll oftentimes step back and let Warriors take the reins or lean on his recommendations for action. Even though this is the case, Time is still the most Dad of the bunch and leads by following his Dad instincts.

Ghosts haunt all of the Links from time to time, and Wind is aware of them but no one else is. The ghosts that haunt Warriors aren’t always nice ghosts. Sometimes they’re mean military leaders who died because he wasn’t fast enough to save them. Though Warriors himself doesn’t know they’re there and can’t hear them, Wind tells them off if he can.

Ok I have a fic prompt if you want it. warriors but his ADHD is kicking in and he just can’t sit still.

OH THIS IS PERFECT BECAUSE THIS SAME THING JUST HIT ME AND I NEED TO GO TAKE A LAP BUT ITS DARK OUT AND VERY COLD AND I CAN’T-

Here you go!! (298 words):

He didn’t know how to explain it other than his spine felt itchy and if he wasn’t able to get up and move in the next five seconds, Warriors was going to scream, maybe even cry. He’d fallen asleep and three of the other heroes had piled on top of him, leaving him pinned to the ground and unable to get up. He spent close to ten minutes trying to wiggle out from underneath them but he couldn’t and he let out a frustrated groan.

“Need some help?” Twilight asked as the captain struggled, walking up to him. He was the only one up, having taken the middle watch shift.

“Please,” he begged. He slid out from under Sky when the rancher helped move him just enough so Warriors could slip free. Once he was up, Warriors hopped up and down for a moment trying to get his energy out, shaking his hands at his sides.

“You good?” Twilight raised an eyebrow as the captain started walking around the camp, still moving his hands.

“Yup, I’m good I’m so good,” he nodded, stopping in his tracks so he could bend side to side and crack his spine.

“Sit still too long?” The rancher asked, and Warriors nodded again.

The inability to sit still was something they joked had been passed to each of them through the hero’s spirit and they all had their different ways of coping with it. Time left to chop wood, Sky carved, Wind ran around, the rancher… well, Warriors wasn’t sure what the rancher did, but the captain’s way to cope was to go off and power walk, but given that it was the middle of the night he’d be unable to do so. So walking around camp would have to be good enough.
