Mammon sending his crows to watch over you when he can’t be with you in the human world 🥹
It was bad enough that you had to go back to the human realm, but it was even worse that he couldn’t go with you. He’s your first man! The one that’s suppose to be keeping an eye on you and making sure that you stay out of trouble-protecting you. And how is he suppose to do that if he’s down here and you’re all the way up there?
He pouts when he sees that you still haven’t responded to his messages. He tries to hide his disappointment when he goes to show you something and remembers that you’re not here to see it. He tries to ignore the stinging pain in his chest when he turns in for the night, never really getting to sleep since you’re not by his side.
He’s restless- it’s hard for him to relax when he can’t see you, hear your voice, feel your warmth, see you smile, hearing how softly you say that you love him…
Mammon’s trying to come up and quick- there’s no way he can’t wait until you come back yourself, and he’s too impatient to wait for Lucifer to allow them to visit- he’s trying to put up a front and pretend that he’s totally fine, but he doesn’t know how much longer he can handle this.
Then he gets an idea. A smart idea.
Crows are his familiars, and there just so happen to be plenty flying around in the human world. It wouldn’t be the first time that he’s asked them for some favors dealing with you. And it’s not like he’s breaking the rules anyway. Lucifer said that they aren’t allowed up there- he didn’t say anything about his crows seeing you.
And the best part- he doesn’t have to share with his brothers. It can just be your secret. Something private between the both of you without anyone else knowing.
One is already perched on the window sill, head tilted in curiosity as Mammon whispered a few commands, sliding something in between its claws as he sent it off.
He’s trying to steel his nerves, but he can’t help it as he tries to imagine how you react. No doubt that you would be surprised- he can picture now how your eyes would light up, gushing over his familiar as you flash that same smile that would get him blushing-
He tried to ignore how his stomach was filling with butterflies as he shooed his crow away.
—
It became a regular occurrence to have a crow sitting on your window sill.
At first you were a bit confused- it’s not like you left food out for them to peck at and your summoning spell wasn’t that strong to summon a living being…yet. Could it be a weird side effect of your magic? You’ll have to ask Solomon to see.
However, it wasn’t until you noticed what they had clutched in their claws when you began to suspect that it wasn’t just a random visit.
Folded notes with messy handwriting scrawled on it, a shiny bracelet that strangely resembles the same one you liked in the Devildom, and more items that convinced you that it wasn’t just a coincidence.
And everything clicked when they would stare up at you expectantly, like they were…waiting for something? It wasn’t until you would softly rub the top of their head as thanks and hearing them make the same purr as that one familiar demon would make anytime your fingers grazed his scalp.
Of course Mammon would be behind this- and just like him, his dear crows found themselves wanting praise for their actions. No doubt he would deny it if you asked him (or Diavolo forbid make up some wild excuse), but the act still made your heart warm.
The next time you call him, you play coy about the gifts and you can just see the grin and how his chest swells with pride at the mere mention of them- but you also hear him choke on his words when his crows just so happen to plop his own present in his lap. He can’t keep the tough act up for long, and as the conversation goes on, his tone softens as he finally admits how much he misses you.
But even being worlds apart wouldn’t stop him from watching over you.

concept, cause the dynamics at play would be super interesting:
when Tuk and Neytiri are sucked into the hold of the Seadragon, what if Spider, unwilling to watch another one of this baby siblings, nor his siblings mother (despite everything cause he's a good kid), die without doing anything, jumps in after them?
they're now stuck in a flooding ship, spider knows his way around to a decent extent, they're all tired, they're all scared, they're all hurting. they have to depend on each other for survival.
Neytiri has to not only trust Spider, but has to follow his lead, has to trust him to guide her around a demon ship, has to untrust not only her own life, but the life of her youngest child to this boy.
Maybe they're separated, they have to find one another (my personal favorite scenario is that Tuk and Spider are together and he has to try and find her/guide Neytiri to him)
Spider taking Neytiri and Tuk's arms so they aren't separated by stray currents and raging waters (a parallel to "Sully's stick together"). Spider talking them through the breath holds he learned as a kid in case his mask malfunctioned before bringing them through the depths of the submerged ship (parallel to Jake and Lo'ak)
anyway. I just can't stop thinking about it. think about it.
Neytiri is faced with the fact that Spider jumped in after her and Tuk. he came for them, he put himself in danger to save them, to save her daughter. even after what she did to him. even after she held a knife to him, after she cut him, after she intended to kill him even after Kiri was released. he still jumped to her aid, even if he could have stayed with Kiri above deck where he was safe, he could have just aided Tuk and left her behind, but he didn't.
and there's so many ways to play with it and the aftermath. like.
Spider dragging both Tuk and Neytiri up the surface, trying his best to keep the trio afloat (namely Neytiri who was much less adjusted to the water and is exhausted by the night they've had) as they hope and pray to be reunited with the rest of their family.
maybe the stress gets to them and Spider just starts apologizing. I should have fought them harder. I shouldn't have let Lo'ak and Neteyam try and leave with me, I would have been fine. I should have seen it coming, should have taken it myself. it should have been me. my baby brother shouldn't be dead.
maybe he becomes partly delirious as he too gives into exhaustion, the big brother in him being the only part of him left coherent, so he takes Tuk close, whispering prrnen tsmuke [baby sister] over and over into her braids, assuring himself that she's safe and unharmed. he keeps praying to the Great Mother for his siblings to return to him unharmed. maybe he keeps asking where they are, if they're safe as his awareness fades and his memory weakens. all of his siblings. asking if Neteyam is ok, only to remember he's gone the second the words leave his tongue.
Jake and Lo'ak finding them when they come up with Payakan, both worse for wear, exhausted, clinging to one another, the only thing keeping their heads above water being spiders life vest, Tuk cradled between them. what a sight.
Neytiri watching as Spider looks over each of his siblings, taking them close, holding onto them as if they will be ripped away from him. the realization that he would die before he let that happen again hitting her like a ton of bricks the second she sees the look in his eyes.
a peace being made between the two in the wake of this event. spider silently claiming the role of big brother (he always was, but he had to pretend he wasn't. with Neteyam gone, he can't pretend he's not anymore), Neytiri silently agreeing.
idk man. it would be interesting.

I think the prequels should’ve made Owen Lars Anakin’s full brother. I think we should’ve had gruff 19/20 year old completely Force-null Owen in TPM and make the audience assume for a moment that that’s young Darth Vader, but nope, it’s the tiny blond Yippee boy who’s playing with droids.
I want to play with old Ben’s line about Uncle Owen in ANH “He thought (Anakin) should’ve stayed here, not gotten involved (in the clone wars)” as Owen urging Anakin to quit the Order in AOTC because a war is brewing in the Republic, telling him their mother sent Anakin away to be safe, and would never approve of him becoming a soldier.
Then Uncle Owen in OWK with that same dismissive attitude towards Obi-Wan but this time it’s not just protectiveness of Luke but also because he blames the Jedi for corrupting his little brother
