I imagine people like otto would not be okay with any of the boys being omega as it possibly lessens their claim so would be angry. (really fluffy but little angsty). possibly ends up with Jace or someone else if you want to put in romance.

all her life, Rhaenyra has been made to feel lesser than for her gender; by Otto, the men at court, possible intendeds, everyone

so when aegon is born she resents him

he will be everything that she was not for her father and she cannot ignore that

but everything changes when she presents for the first time, every feeling is heightened

she can feel the power rushing through her veins, the strength, everything is going to change

she's certain

but then everything falls apart

she needs to satisfy her newfound hunger and her uncle is eager to show her the ways of their world, being an alpha himself

excitement boils her blood even further, desperate, hungry and eager to feed her inner dragon

but he rejects her, abandoning her in a cold brothel for his brother to assume the worst

so she finds another outlet in Ser Criston Cole

and when her father finds out of her urges he has half a mind to disinherit her but she is future Queen

he knows it, he feels it

so he allows this slip so long as she marries Laenor Velaryon, another alpha and heir to the Driftmark throne

she fights and claws while still up to the brim with these changes, still unused to the growth in her muscle and discomfort in her joints

her uncle is her mate and she is being torn from him

but she has no choice

they are fated, she is sure that one day they will joing again

slowly she agrees but begrudging

Rhaenyra is merely glad that can convince Laenor to stay at the castle with her

the years pass and she has born three sons, all promising and with increasing strength

her heir Jacaerys even bares the traits she had upon the brink of her presentation, she could not be more proud until the event in which a pig aids the breakdown of a family

and then the incident with Vhagar occurs and they leave for Dragonstone after a rushed wedding

a mate is something sacred, someone to protect with your life and both the uncle and niece intend to

until she walks in on a scene she wishes she could forget

her brows furrow, ears overhearing Otto Hightower's scold but to whom?

she peeks through the open doorway and her heart sink to curn her stomach

"What would your mother say?" The older man hisses, grasping the pale boy's shoulder

"I-I-I cannot–it's not my fault!" Her brother's words stumble, her sympathy breaches

a lump forms in her throat as familiar words belt in her ears

"This is not what your mother needs right now, you are a disappointment to the throne and a disappointment to me." Aegon holds back his flinch

"I do everything you ask of me," His voice sounds so quiet, so fragile

"And yet you are still not enough." The grown man sneers. "You were supposed to marry your sister, child. Tell me how an omega could be King? Answer me!"

Silence locks them in time. Torturous time.

which is why Rhaenyra clears her throat and lets her presence be known

"Have you no shame?" She bellows, sharp and encompassing the regality of a Queen crowned

Otto doesn't back down, he only quirks a brow and bows shortly

"Princess," He greets, contempt seeping from his tongue

his gaze flickers to his grandson

"A pleasure to see you after all this time." Aegon doesn't look at her, his gaze stays firmly planted on his shoes

her own lilac sights narrow on him

"Aegon," she calls

his head snaps up at the acknowledgement and Otto's lips part in surprise

Aegon slowly turns around and she winces at the red in his face, his eyes are so bloodshot she would assume him drunk again but his pupils are surprisingly trained

"What is wrong, dear boy?" he hesitates even more at the sight of her

she should enjoy that but it makes her skin crawl

"It is nothing of your concern, princess." Otto sneers and although he stands in front of his grandson, it is not a shield of protection, instead it is one of shame

she takes a step closer and then she smell it

a frown settles on her lips and an instinct to keep him protected emerges

"Come," she commands but neither move

Aegon stiffens and flickers his eyes between the two adults

"Aegon, come, I wish to speak with your mother. She will be pleased."

her hand outstretches and beckons him while Otto provides a firm look

he has always obeyed, he has always seeked approval and yet as he stands, on the verge of a whimper he considers the options

Rhaenyra has never cared much for him, he knows this but even if she were a wild boar, he would take his chances with her more than with his grandsire

he skitters over to her quickly so that Otto cannot argue with him and he takes her hand, suddenly feeling small

the journey is long and tense but she does not let go of his hand, rather she envelopes him into her side like she would Lucerys

"She will not be happy..." Aegon grumbles quietly, worry toiling in him

"Whom?" Rhaenyra's brows pinch

"My mother."

Rhaenyra hums at the clarity

"Then it is a good thing we are not seeing her."

shock engulf his pupils which flit up, his eyes widen

"Th-Then where are we–"

"Your father." She murmurs, bitterness tasting her teeth. "He owes a favour to me." She sighs. He stops instantly and shakes his head, trying to pull away from her.

"No. No. No. No." he refuses, sniffles bridling in his nose "No, he does not wish to see me, no."

"Do you wish for a change of environment or not?" That spins his mind. His breath hitches and he frowns

"What?" He asks in a quiet breath.

"Daemon and I have been lonely as of late," She murmurs despite them both knowing the blanket adjacent lie spilling from her mouth

perhaps it is even sweeter than the wine he loves

"You would...You would have me?" He returns in question. she scans over him, his feeble legs and downcast expression

"You are more than he thinks you are." She states and steps closer. "I did not ask for the crown brought to me and yet I have embraced it. Despite this I would not...I would not allow force to garner our actions. And besides, the boys love you, they would love to see their uncle at all hours."

a soft smile twitches at his lips

"They miss you," she assure, her hand resting on his shoulder

"Really?"

she smiles. "Really."

and so the arrangement is slowly built

he cannot always stay in Dragonstone but he may visit for as long as he wishes and vice verse

though he had to ignore the betrayal lingering in his family's eyeys from time to time, how the embarrassment creeps beneath his skin

and yet riding Sunfyre with Jacaerys at his back is the warmest he has ever felt

he never flushes near Helaena and yet when his nephew beams at him, something unknown stirs

it is not lust, it is warmth

Jacaerys is his warmth and finally Aegon understands why Rhaenyra took charge to dispel his engagement to Helaena so strongly

he has never been happier, never felt more complete

and then Jacaerys presents, an alpha too and eager to protect him too

when they are finally visiting King's Landing and he has never been more excited, sure it is to reaffirm Lucerys' claim to Driftmark but it is no less exciting

he cannot hope but pretend they are coming all this way for him despite his true mind

he prepares himself early, dresses, washes and keeps as well behaved as he's able

Alicent is shocked to say the least but it is pleasant

she thinks that perhaps he is finally ready to be king, perhaps responsibility has finally brought him peace

but alas she watches as he runs to embrace his elder sister and she hardens at the warmth between them

he disobeys her for a woman who would strike him dead at the hint of his claim

Aegon tries to take no notice when later that day, Alicent is digging her nails into his arm

he had beckoned the family over but at the pain twitching his features, Rhaenyra had declined, all too aware of Hightower priorities

Rhaenyra becomes distracted by the ferocity in which she defends her son's claim and Aegon can't help but admire her

it wounds Alicent deeper than any cut

because he cannot understand that she is doing the same

that she is protecting him

then the King seats the throne and Rhaenys confirms her support once Rhaena's betrothal to Lucerys is announced

a sly glimmer flashes in his other nephew's eye however which he cannot discern

and then it happens

his eyes widen and his lips part, a gasp erupting from between them

another betrothal

one for him

without his sister's name and in it's place is Jacaerys

and when they connect eyes, he knows

he knows

that also snaps up his family's attention

even his father's who considers it carefully before agreeing

and that turns a regular family dinner into a betrothal dinner

the first in a long which ends with both comfort and hurt

but it stops a war

Aegon does not need power in his veins to feel the warmth of a dragon and seat a throne

both siblings will have their turn to rule, those who call for bitterness will be removed and those who insult Aegon's status will be punished for questioning

The strange union of Lucerys Velaryon and Aemond Targaryen resulted in the birth of a brood of perfectly handsome sons and perfectly beautiful daughters.

Meet them down below ⬇️

Aemion is the dependable, friendly and oblivious eldest child of Lucerys and Aemond. He deeply loves all of his siblings and has a tendency to acts as if he was their mother. Aemion is sweet, always cheerful and rather charming.

Contrary to his eldest twin, Aeryn is shy and melancholic, he seems to always be in the clouds and likes to isolate himself. He’s pretty reserved unless he’s with Aemion, who he adores perhaps just a little bit too much.

Valaena is a rather calm and collected young girl although she is quite cold, judgemental and sardonic. She is fiercely protective of Lucerys and will not tolerate any kind of disrespect toward him. There’s no one who could be more proud to be a Targaryen than Valaena.

Unlike her sisters, Calyx is not known for being a great beauty but rather for her remarkable intelligence and prowess in archery. Adventurous, she loves to explore news horizons with her dragon. She has little regard for her youngest twin, Baelon, and mostly ignores him.

Prideful, fearful, arrogant and short-tempered, his personality doesn’t make Baelon particularly popular among his siblings. Despite his overall unpleasant demeanor, Baelon’s intelligence is undeniable and extremely praised, though it seems to only add to his already inflated ego.

Maegelle is sweet, at least that’s what she wants everyone to think. She is delighted whenever she gets to tease her older brother Baelon and more often than not gets into arguments with him. Maegelle enjoys singing the songs she wrote as Baelon and Valaena play the lute and the harp for her. She admires and is way more than fond of Valaena but unfortunately for her, it doesn’t seems to be reciprocal.

Saelyna is the eldest triplet of Osferth and Rhaegar. She is quite rubbish, clumsy and overall a very funny little girl but she’s unfortunately not the smartest. For there is absolutely nothing going on inside her head.

Calm and docile, Osferth is a sweet kid with a sweet tooth. While he doesn’t have a dragon himself, he loves takings care of the dragons of his siblings. He is very fond of his sickly little brother Maelor and often sneak in his chambers to take care of him and keep him company.

Rhaegar was the youngest triplet of Saelyna and Osferth. He was the only child who looked exactly like Lucerys. The babe unfortunately passed away before his first moon, which deeply devastated Aemond and Luke.

Lucerys and Aemond were blessed with Maelor a few years after the loss of their babe, Rhaegar, and after multiple miscarriages. Sadly, he was born weak, tiny and very sickly with dragon scales on different part of his body. Rarely allowed to go outside, he spend most of his time alone in his chambers with his little dragon, Pythios.

Gael is a little girl who despite her very young age is quite energetic. She likes to run around and cause mischief.

But he can feel the wave of irritation roll off of Rhaenyra and now he's sure that everyone else can too because the people in the room shift in their seats uncomfortably. "I've been working here for the last four years, and two before that unofficially. This company is what I live and breathe. What need do I have for a man who hasn't even been in the country for years? A man my own father exiled." She rounds on him, "Do you even know the state of my company?"

"Our company," he corrects and enjoys the way her cheeks flush in anger at him. He takes distinct satisfaction in his advantage over her. "And I've been in this industry about as long as you've been alive. Are you sure you don't need a guiding hand?" His age and experience overshadow hers and the thought of his guiding hands on Rhaenyra cause another riotous upheaval inside of him. Her scent is so faint when she's this far away, but it's still there, like a virus in the back of his mind. It influences and pollutes his every thought.

She tilts her head up proudly, every inch the bratty, spoiled girl he suspects her to be. "Then stay with us as an advisor. I don't need a husband," she says crossly. He wants to roll his eyes again and tell her that, of course, she needs one. She needs a mate, right now she's a child in a room full of men. What will happen when she's in heat? God, the thought actually awakens his cock.

But Harrold speaks up again. "Rhaenyra, our stocks have plummeted since your father died. Investors have been calling and we have contract renewals coming up. A betrothal to Daemon could offer us some reprieve and reassurances to stakeholders."

She looks unconvinced, but the rest of the board is nodding in agreement. And that part of him is in agreement as well. Grasping and eager, it reaches out from within him, as if to crawl across the table to her so it can bury itself in her scent. Mine.

"I'll do it," he says, and the table turns to him in surprise. Rhaenyra almost looks betrayed. "But, it must be a long engagement. You can float rumors to bring up stock prices but no public announcements." He gestures to Rhaenyra, trying to seem unaffected. "I barely know this girl, and I don't know what's happening with this company. Remember, you called me. I can just as easily go back to Bar-Vel or Dark Sister." He tells himself he's keeping his friends close and his enemies closer.

"Then go back, Daemon," Otto snidely retorts. "Rhaenyra is capable of handling this on her own." Ambitious and oily Otto Hightower. It seems now that Viserys is gone, he can sink his teeth into Rhaenyra. Once a leech, always a leech.

There's a moment of silence as he waits for Rheanyra's decision, she seems unaffected by Otto's flattery. Finally, she turns to a third man in the room, an old man with rheumatic eyes and a quavering voice. "Beesbury, what do you think?"

Beesbury is a relic, he was old when Daemon was still the heir to the company, and he was ancient now. The old man looks at Daemon and he feels like he's being examined from the inside out. "Your father treasured this company, and he wanted you as his heir, this is true. But with Daemon at your side, you could become even more powerful than Viserys." Sighing, he strokes his chin in contemplation. "It's worth the consideration, to continue the legacy of your family, which I know is important to you."

He can read the conflict painted on her face, she wants an opposing point of view but none exists in the room. She's being cornered and she doesn't like it. But finally, flipping her hair over her shoulder, she nods curtly. She's trying so hard to look gracious in defeat. "A long engagement," she tells the table, before looking straight at him. "And I will break it if I need to."

Could you share some of your Lucemond fic recs?

I have a lot of lucemond recs, but the ones I like the most are these:

the beast you’ve made of me by MaidenMotherCrone. Probably my favorite hotd fic of all time. Lucerys is taken hostage by the greens in Storm’s End, and it all goes downhill from there. Incomplete, but has consistent updates. Currently it only has eleven chapters left. If you’ve been following me for a while you’ll know I always go crazy when this updates.

Hiding in plain sight by Unohanabbygirl. A bit dark, but not extremely so. It’s abo, Lucerys goes into heat and triggers Aemond’s rut. He is raped by Aemond in Storm’s End, and left for dead. He’s nursed back to health by strangers who don’t know who he is, while everyone else thinks he’s dead. Updated pretty consistently.

Forget me not by Unohanabbygirl. A modern reincarnation au. Everyone remembers their past life except Lucerys. Targaryen royalty, as well as important figures from the ASOIAF saga, are historical characters. It treats topics like sexual assault and drug abuse, as well as trauma in general. One of the best fics I’ve ever read. It’s incomplete, but updates are consistent.

The — heir of the tides; series by thehundrethpoet. It’s a canon divergence fic where Lucerys takes out his eye on Storm’s End. Series is incomplete, but the first two parts are done and the third one is about to be completed and updated consistently.

The Key To Your Heart by Avonne. A modern au about lucemond’s relationship. I don’t know how else to describe it without spoiling it, but I enjoyed it a lot. It’s completed, and a second part is currently being written.

Calendario de Adviento para una muerte asegurada by Aynnita. It’s written in Spanish (my first language). It’s also a modern au where the Targaryens are still royalty, and lucemond go to a boarding school in the North. Lucerys broke his engagement to Rhaena, and his parents want to know why. He tells them he has a partner, and promises to introduce them on Christmas Eve. Of course, both sides of the family are estranged. It’s incomplete but not abandoned, with only one chapter before it’s finished.

The gilded lilies series by corviids. After being believed to be dead, both Aemond and Lucerys return to King’s Landing just as Rhaenyra is taking control of the Red Keep, and it seems the gods are planning something for them. It’s abo, Aemond is an Alpha and Lucerys an Omega. This is my favorite out of the few fics with this concept. The main piece is incomplete, but it has several one shots post canon that are finished.

Arsonist’s Lullaby by orphan_account. Aemond sides with the blacks during the dance because he falls in love with Lucerys. It’s one of my favorite takes of this particular canon divergence, and it’s completed.

The Holiday by archimedesprinciple. A modern Christmas au where Aemond is part of law enforcement and Lucerys works at a bank. They are still related, but the incest is toned down to ��standard levels of modern aristocracy’. There are many unresolved issues in this one, but it’s completed and has a happy ending.

The only i will ever ackowlage the Aegon's prophecy is if it turns out it was send to the Aegon the Conquer in the dream beacuse some shadowbinder was a bored that day and decided to send a dream to Aegon just for funsies

It's just an idea that GRRM is developing. It's in his head but we don't know how he will write it in the last books.

While promoting Fire and Blood in 2018 GRRM called this idea of Aegon's knowledge about the Long Night "speculation:"

“(…) Aegon finally decided to take over Westeros and unify the Seven Kingdoms that existed at that time under a single rule, there is a lot of speculation that in some sense he saw what was coming 300 years later and wanted to unify the Seven Kingdoms to be better prepared for the threat that he eventually saw coming from the north, the threat that we’re dealing with in A Song of Ice And Fire.”

This means, that the only thing from George is the idea of Aegon's dream about the Long Night. The part that since Aegon's time every Targaryen King passed the prophecy to their heirs is all made up by the HOT D Showrunners. This is even more evident in this other interview:

He saw a vision of the White Walkers coming across the wall and sweeping over the land with cold and darkness. Condal is basically repeating what Elio García said in 2018, the same time this new show was developing. They are using the idea of Aegon's knowledge of the Long Night (that it's still only in George's head) as a link between GOT and HOT D.

So, again, the only thing from George is Aegon's dream. The part that since Aegon's time every Targaryen King passed the prophecy to their heirs is all made up by the HOT D Showrunners.

But even the idea of Aegon's dream is only in George's head, we don't really know how he will write it in the last books.

Anyway for rhncts, they're known for accusing people of being lesbophobic for not liking the ship or preferring other ships. And lcmd have had accusations of being racist (other than the debacle over elliot's age which always comes up as if we don't have 5k fancasts for older lucerys) because we didn't fixate on the laenorxjoffrey ship instead as they are "canon gays". Lukeharem had also caused a stir when people found that thread or the abo lcmd ones. Like it's not something you're into, why roast people who are?

With every time we surpassed an asoiaf ship on ao3, came another wave of hate from other shippers (as lcmdrs i think we keep our issues inside the subfandom for better or for worse). Apparently jcmd shippers also called us out last week for our "boring" ship??? But yeah i think everyone should focus on making content and just ignore whatever else anyone is doing like the mean girl energy in this fandom is off the walls. So many creators have been driven out and it's just sad. Also the same discourse repeats roughly every 2 weeks and it's so dull to see the same fights happen again, exhausting.

Okay yeah it’s still ABO & mpreg. I don’t have any tropes I hate with a fiery passion or anything, but I really have no interest in these. Maybe if I stumbled upon something by accident & the writing was good & it was well done? But no interest.

OMG yes with the "how deeply fucked up the GoT and ASOIAF fandom is"!! I've recently read a dark Dramione fic, it's a very dark take on ABO trope. Asoiaf fandom traumatized me so much that I was afraid to look at the comments finding 2 things. "How could you do this to our precious OTP?!! This is a safe space for Dramione shippers!!1! Remove this filth from our relationship tag!!!" This happens all the time, less so with Jonsa, (i can't forget that Jonerii fic a non-jonsa author -their previous works were sansaery and jonmund- wrote, dany's abusive behaviour from canon was translated into a modern au and jon was trying to escape the relationship, he was friends with sansa and the starks etc, and jonsas didn't even know the fic before bcoz it wasn't in our tag but we heard about it when joneriis on twitter tried to organize to bully the author into removing the fic from the tag) but there are certainly people who freak out when people write dark fics, or not full on happy and sunshine fics with Jonsa.

But more importantly I was worried to see comments like "awww look at the poor boy, Hermione should be more understanding, heal him, help him discover his deeply hidden golden heart, so what if he did "insert all sorts of trigger warnings" to her, he was traumatized too!!1!" and it was a Draco Pov fic so I was surprised to find out everyone rooting for Hermione to get away from Draco and/or kill him. It was a refreshing change from Asoiaf/Got fandom.

People in this fandom have a warped understanding of that old "Fiction is not the same as reality" adage. Yes fiction is different from real life; fiction is writing, reading, enjoying a story, yes even a story with dark elements, and it doesn't necessarily mean endorsement. What it's not though is writing multiple 10k essays on how cannibalism is perfectly OK and actually a good thing™ and everyone should accept it already just because you watched and liked Hannibal. That's what the s/ns/n and other similar shippers do.

I saw that fic, had a quick look at it and closed it again (after checking if Hermione escaped, haha). It’s brilliantly written but not my cup of tea. But it is actually a great example that tagging works - if people do not police the fandom.

There was a time, when Jonsa writers who actually had a nod to Jon€rys, past Jon€rys or even love triangle or anything did not tag the ship on AO3, because the Jon€rys shippers were just so obnoxious about policing the relationship tag on AO3 - and had no idea that the tagging on AO3 works completely different. If the relationship (however twisted, dark or whatever) is in the fic, you tag the relationship.

It is a nuisance, because if you write a Jonsa fic and have Jon€rys in it you then have to avoid the tag because you don’t want the trolls on your fic and then you have to prepare your other readers that Jon€rys actually is in the fic - they might have chosen your fic because they want a Jonsa fic without Jon€rys...

I remember that some Jonsa shippers made a Dark Jon fest out of spite, because sweet cinnamon roll Jon supposedly would never ever... *eye roll*.

If people want horror, let them read horror. If people want to read fucked up relationships, let them. If tagged accordingly, nobody who wants fluffy fics will read that.

The thing about the ASOIAF fandom is that policing is such a big part of the fandom, that I am always (positively) surprised by the other fandoms I engage in.

There is a whole set of ideas about the books and the characters in the books and the condescending attitude that everyone who has a different opinion should be ostracized. It’s bad enough when it comes to the interpretation of the books - I mean ASOIAF is literature and literature is interpreted differently - but it becomes completely absurd, when the fandom only wants cinnamon roll Jon, kind Dany, badass Arya and dead Sansa in fanfics. Because it should never be allowed to write a character ooc in fanfic (although I would argue that cinnamon roll Jon and king Dany are ooc).

On the other hand they are totally o.k. to write long ass essays about a teenage girl being the absolute worst character in the books (and harass Sansa and Jonsa blogs on that as well) and then write a long apology for Tywin fucking Lannister, the machiavellist, child abuser, does not care about collateral damage, man without scruples who annihilated two families because they insulted him and conclude that he must be the best politician in Westeros. Oh my...  I side-eye the abilities of the ASOIAF fandom to rationally talk about the morals of the ASOIAF characters. Very much so. Their standards are absolutely warped.

I’ll stop here.

Honestly, I’ve changed some of my stances on character because of this fandom and it’s policing. I actually support Cersei knowing fully that she is a villain a) because of Lena and b) just because this fandom is so united in wishing a horrible death on Cersei and I don’t even like Cersei in the books. I stopped looking at the Arya tag altogether, because the “Arya will have revenge on Sansa” takes always make me cringe... I started stanning the Martells, just because this fandom is so set on shipping Rhaegar and Lyanna.

You would be absolutely correct, if you call me out for doing this mostly out of spite. But I only do it on my blog, ostracized and excommunicated as I am .... *shrugs*
