You ever see a music video and wish so bad that it was an actual movie or show. Like some music video concepts are so cool and I wanna know more of what’s going on.
Like I miss when most music videos had a little story that goes along with it.

I'm so not normal about nursery songs like You Are My Sunshine... we are singing our loved ones (babies and young especially) that they are the sun in our hearts, that they warm us with their very presence and that they are so, so dear and loved. How could you hate humanity when we have this unadulterated love for each other?

QuinObi Week Part 5/5 - First / Previous
Day 5: AU Track: 'Walking The Wire' - Imagine Dragons (Spotify / YouTube)
"You know it would be much easier to save you if you didn't insist on breaking out yourself." "Was getting bored Obes, you know me." Obi-Wan sighed, blocking blaster bolts even as she failed to stop the small smile. Because she does know Quinlan, and he knows her. Always has and always will, no matter what may happen.
Tumblr media
Yes this is a full, thought out AU. Nothing I have really written yet besides some QuinObi snippets and some little found family things, but none the less, it is the QuinObi story I have the most thoughts on hehe. Version without all the lights below the cut (this makes Quinlan's injuries more visible, as a heads up).
Enjoy!

I have listened to more country music in the last four days then I have in my entire life. And it's all Jensen Ackles' fault.

random ass thought i had but with all the random shit thats apart of the regular story in obey me i hc that some of the random stories and stuff youll hear involving like the devil/a demon/an angel, etc. are things that actually happened with the characters in om out of context
(for example think back to that one post i made a while ago talking about the bible story where lucifer becomes a snake that tempts eve to eat the forbidden fruit and god punishes snakes by not letting them have legs anymore, random as fuck)
and now im going down a rabbit hole of different old songs that are similar with having a story with religious type stuff bc i was listening to 'magic man' by heart and it describes a man with a magic touch and blue eyes that look right through someone and i started thinking about satan
so now im just thinking about all the songs that could fit this hc.
imagine in obey me lucifer just has some beef with some random ass human guy from georgia that he lost a fiddling competition to like 3,000 years ago bc of that song 'the devil went down to georgia' by charlie daniels

I know this is just Eurovision but I guess it’s important to mention it’s not really a shock how much europe sucks up to israel. Like it was surprising to me in the moment (I felt that their song was average) but when you think about it… Europe did everything for israel. Like it wasn’t israel on their own taking palestine and fucking up those existing communities and stealing their land. And it’s still not just israel committing horrible crimes against Palestinians now. Europe has always had involvement in the Middle East and especially palestine. Israel would not be a thing without them. And they continue to give israel support so they can continue all this violence against Palestinians. Europe does not see palestine like they see Ukraine. They are so far removed from the horrors that Middle Eastern people experience. They speak about peace and then fund and supply israel with anything they need. Not to mention a lot of Israelis are originally European. And this doesn’t just apply to Eurovision, but also any competition or event israel is invited to. Everyone was so quick to boycott Russia from everything… surely israel should get the same treatment.

I know everybody likes to give characters the same 10 songs on their character playlists, but I think the most egregious issue with this is that no one gives them any country songs. I am handing them out to characters like candy. You get a country song, you get a country song, you get a country song.

#so first of all i'm not jewish.#but i feel like i occupy a relatively weird position with respect to judaism.#because the neighbourhood in which i grew up was like...30-50% jewish?#it was jewish enough that the local families requested and got a hebrew immersion programme at the local elementary school#that operated in parallel to the english programme that i attended#and about half of my friends growing up were jewish.#and so i absorbed a lot of the surface-level details of the religion by a sort of osmosis#like...i knew the dates and significance of the various jewish holy days#and i knew a smattering of phrases in hebrew (phonetically); most of them apparently quite rude#and we occasionally did jewish religious songs in choir (some of them admittedly lifted from the 'Prince of Egypt' soundtrack)#and once when i was in high school i was on a trivia team; and we asked a run of questions about judaism;#and i was the only one who knew them even though (i swear to god) i was the non-Jewish player on either team#(and then when i was much older i almost married a jewish enby and i would even have tried to convert for them#but our relationship fell apart for unrelated reasons)#but one of the things that was drilled into me when i was growing up (by my dad who grew up under similar circumstances)#was that you don't criticise Israel; it's antisemitic to criticise Israel#(which made for a lot of fraught moments as a teenager given that i was watching the second Intifada on the news)#and the thing is even now in the face of what seems pretty unambiguously to be a genocide against the Palestinians#i find that i'm more circumspect about criticizing israel than i would be just about any other country under the same circumstances#like i was writing things like 'fuck saudi arabia' when they were murdering houthis in yemen#but 'fuck israel'?#even though a little harsh language is least of what that regime deserves#ugh#i feel like i'm privy to the death of a dream that was never even mine.#personal#religion

Remember when fallout 76 got announced and the corniest people on earth got mad that the trailer used take me home country roads because it was released in the 70s instead of the 50s? As if like, government-enforced cultural stagnation would just mean no new art was made for over a hundred years?

listening 2 country music is so nostalgic. Let me be cringe, but it gen bring back so many old memories before it all went to shit. I have such a special place in my heart for country music even if it's not my favorite genre ever
