bumi + lin getting caught or how everyone found out about their relationship :-))))
Title: Discretion
Note: Here’s what I have for this particular Lin/Bumi II prompt. Hope you enjoy 😊
· Pairing: Lin/Bumi II
· One-shot, post-series AU
· Rating: Teen
-----
Bumi was whistling as the hustle and bustle around Air Temple Island continued in preparation for Varrick’s wedding. Why they allowed the wedding and the party on the island, he had no idea.
He watched the tired teenagers who were hovering excitedly around the affianced. He supposed they all deserved some sort of merrymaking after what he had dubbed in his mind as the Kuvira Incident. It also was not a bad idea to have them use this time to work out their romantic entanglements, he thought as he eyed the various couples gravitating toward each other.
It also gave him a lovely excuse to meet up with his ownromantic entanglement.
The former military man faced the city pensively.
He frowned as the water lapped against the shore. The sun continued to shine brightly even as the buildings at the island across showed devastation, some still slightly smoldering days after the attack.
The Kuvira Incident did put things into perspective.
Well, that went dark quickly.
He blinked away grim thoughts and focused instead on the fairy lights being hung around the courtyard.
As he decided earlier, they all deserve some merrymaking.
---
“What are you doing skulking around?” Bumi asked the lady in green, who was looking down at a kebab that had seemed to have displeased her.
Lin Beifong scoffed. “I am not.” And continued to examine the mystery meat on the stick.
Bumi sauntered closer to her, standing at her side, joining her quiet observation of the party. “What on earth did that kebab do to you?” He waved his free hand to said meat on a stick; his other hand occupied with helping him take a swig of whatever fruity punch Varrick was serving.
She bit it furiously while rolling her eyes. “It’s a bit tasteless, if you must know.”
Bumi bit back a laugh and just hummed.
While she could eat instant noodles as well as any cadet living off rations, Lin did have her snobby side to food when it comes to social events thrown by the upper-class.
“Then again, Varrick is tasteless when it comes to most things.” Lin added, her scowl scaring off a Nuktuk-attired waiter who had the misfortune of glancing their way to offer more refreshments.
This time, Bumi let out a laugh, earning him a smirk from the metalbender.
“Well, that’s true. Let me join you in disparaging the libation too – not a single touch of alcohol in this drink.”
They stood there, at the fringe of the party crowd for a while – he sipping the vile drink, she chewing the tough meat.
“They allowed you to wear that?”
It took Bumi a moment to understand she meant his uniform. “I am a retired commander after all.” That and because he did not want to be dressed in formal wear that was almost identical to what his brother was wearing.
Lin swallowed her food. “Hmm, I've been thinking of that too…”
“Me in a military uniform?” Bumi waggled his eyebrows and received a smack on his arm. “You in my uniform?” Another smack.
“Retiring.” She said it so quietly he thought he must have misunderstood her.
He briefly wondered what could have made her arrive at a such a life-changing decision. Then again, if that meant that she would be closer to safety than danger…
“I don’t see why not?” He tossed back with a grin, noting the veiled concern on Lin’s face, worried about his reaction. “As long as it’s what you truly want.”
Lin’s posture relaxed after that.
They continued to sip and eat in silence.
They saw Rohan running at the other side of the court, weaving through the people who were starting to go to the dance floor. Huan was noticeably dragged by Ikki to dance (“Kid takes after her mother, doesn’t she?” Bumi murmured in jest, only to get an elbow to his side as Lin shook her head.).
As people went over to the dance floor, it would not be long before someone noticed the lady beside him. Chief of Police or not, she always did strike quite a figure. Without all the armor (literally and figuratively), it could be easily argued the Lin could be approachable.
He stood closer at her side. He twitched his pinky finger to touch hers.
Her eyes darted to him.
The mood of the party was happy and hopeful. He knew this feeling. He had seen this before. The sigh of relief and desperation for something good after a long hard military campaign.
His face remained cheerful and proceeded to talk about everything and nothing.
Lin’s expression softened. “Want to leave the party?” Her pinky finger hooked around his.
“Thought you’d never ask.”
As always, Lin was the only one who saw through him.
---
Propping himself up on his elbow, Bumi watched her sleep.
Lin had always been a light-sleeper. He got that – living with a constant threat hanging at their back or having a long career that required alertness and rapid reaction time does that to you. That was why it never ceased to amaze him that the metalbender manages to have long uninterrupted sleep whenever they were together.
Spirits knew how much she deserved to sleep in.
He had sighed in relief when Lin said she had lied last night. She had not just been thinking of retiring from the police force – she had already filed her retirement to both President Raiko and headquarters. And, in true efficient Beifong fashion, she had secured approval within days. He did not think she had fully recovered and taking a break (albeit a permanent one) was more than needed.
His eyes traced the dark eye bags and pale complexion. The rebuilding efforts and the ton of work post-Kuvira Incident took a toll on her.
Her skin, already marred with various scars and marks throughout the years, was much too pale. Each imperfection was linked with a story. Each story building up to who Lin was now today.
Her ankle had a small scar, almost invisible unless you knew where to look, from her childhood escapades.
There was the jagged scar, stitches very much apparent on her calf from her earlier days as a beat officer.
A smattering of bruises at her lower back was still present, souvenir from being tossed off the colossus.
Her shoulder, while exhibiting any outer trauma, was still healing from being dislocated from the same scrimmage with death.
There were more across her body, but the most recent ones were those that hit Bumi the hardest.
He was the one who found the Beifong sisters unconscious in the arm of the mecha giant.
He had been beyond terrified until found their respective pulses.
He feared it would have been too late for him, for them. Then Lin fluttered her eyes open, and, despite her shallow breaths, managed to croak out in a less than acerbic tone to help her down.
He mused now in the pale daylight that he ought to have done something then, said something then. He decided to rectify that now.
Before he could even reach over to wake her up in that delicious manner he was planning, several loud knocks beat at his door. He subconsciously tightened his grip around Lin’s waist.
“Bumi? Bumi!” Tenzin.
“We know you’re in there.” Su. “Open up!”
Bumi threw a worried glance at Lin, but she was still asleep and simply buried her face closer to his chest, ensconced under his fluffy comforter and buried under his equally soft pillows. He leaned back and closed his eyes, willing their unwanted siblings away.
Maybe if I pretended to be asleep, they would leave us alone…
Knock-knock-knock! A pause. Knock-knock-knock-knock-knock-knock!
“Bumi!”
He closed his eyes tighter.
Knock-knock-knock!
“Wait a minute, maybe it’s unlocked anyway…”
What are they talking about?
Bumi found out soon enough when the sound of the door sliding open reached his ears.
“Bumi – I can’t find -!”
He sat up quickly, making sure Lin was comfortable and quite hidden from view.
His visitors stopped at the doorway, enough to trespass but not enough to take a full scan of the room.
“Ohhh, I’m – we’re – sorry –.” Tenzin stammered, quite apologetic for bursting in his brother’s room.
Su did not have the same misgivings. “Bumi has a lady friend!”
“He does?!” A new voice called out with shock.
Tenzin and Su, he can tolerate but having the kids over – Bumi decided he drew the line there.
Fight shock with shock.
He stood up quickly, unmindful of being seen in his birthday suit.
“Oh sweet Spirits Agni! Bumi! Cover yourself!”
“My eyesss!”
The Avatar and Bolin immediately shouted over gasps of shock.
Bumi stretched languidly, pretending that nothing was amiss. He will not be embarrassed. That was their problem, they were the ones who were invading his privacy.
To be fair, he had no issues about his nudity so it was not really a big issue. It was just that with Lin in his bed – well, the situation was a bit tricky. Fortunately, her face was still hidden under the comforter. He pulled it higher, never mind that part of her leg is still visible.
“To what do I owe this wake-up call?” Bumi scratched his beard, acting as though this was a normal occurrence. He did delight in making his brother uncomfortable. They became closer in the latter years. Old habits die hard though.
“Bumi, we apologize for barging in this morning.” Tenzin was looking over his shoulder. “But could you – at least -.” He waved at the general direction of the naked man.
Bumi took his sweet time going around the room to pull on some clean shorts.
Su took this opportunity to push out the kids out of the room, who he now saw included both pro-bending brothers, Asami, Opal, and the Avatar.
“Why is the entire cavalry here?” Bumi sauntered to the door, blocking everyone’s view of the room and angling his body to stand in the way of the bed. “What’s up?”
“It’s Lin.”
A beat.
“What about her?”
“She’s missing. I didn’t know when she went home last night.” Su wringed her hands in worry. “I called her house, no one answered. We went over and she wasn’t there.”
It annoyed Bumi how they were suddenly on Lin’s case when they barely said two words to her the night before. There was bound to be a hidden agenda to this sudden worry.
“Your sister is a grown woman and she's been taking care of herself without you lot for more than a decade now.
He scanned the faces around him.
Postures stiffened, Tenzin flinched, eyes avoided Bumi’s.
Yeah¸ that’s what I thought.
Su stomped lightly. “Regardless of that,” The woman was adamant and would not back down. “We intend to go to the station to report her missing, with or without your inputs.”
Mako looked downright uncomfortable, Bumi thought the boy genuinely cared for his mentor.
“Boy, anything you’d like to add, detective?” Bumi nodded at the firebender.
“We can’t file a missing person’s case unless the person has been missing for more than 24 hours.” Mako shifted his eyes.
“There you go. Drop the matter, Su. I’m sure Lin is fine.”
Su looked like she was about to argue and Tenzin was about to say something but Mako beat him to it.
Still not catching anyone’s eyes, Mako started. “And well, what if the Chief also had a lady friend like Bumi? Or a gentleman friend?”
Bumi almost snorted.
Gentleman friend, what?
The detective was looking ill now but props to the boy.
“Lin with a special friend is highly unlikely.” Lin’s sister said decidedly, waving off Mako’s theory.
Bumi snorted now. “Right, because you’d know, ain’t it right?”
“I don’t see why not?” Suyin frowned, crossing her arms.
Moments like this Bumi was reminded why Lin still held some form of dislike towards her sister.
Asami tried to mediate. “I don’t think Chief Beifong would appreciate her private life being discussed like this.”
Bumi knew he always liked the Sato girl, he nodded and added. “Please don’t do this to try to assuage your…guilt.”
As expected, there were reactions from Su and Tenzin.
“We are not -!”
“Nonetheless, Bumi, Lin is…” Tenzin’s words trailed off and color drained from his face as he continued to look over his brother’s shoulder.
Bumi knew the moment Tenzin realized who was in his bed. He quickly slid the door closed. He tried to meet his brother’s eye, but the man was resolutely looking away.
“Safe.” Tenzin managed to choke out. “Let’s go everyone, I’m sure Lin is very safe.”
Su turned on Tenzin, obviously shocked by his sudden change. “What are you talking about, Tenzin – we -.”
“If Bumi says Lin is okay, then she probably is.” Was the simple yet shifty response.
“But we need Lin to -!”
Opal elbowed her mother gently, asking her to drop the issue. It did not escape Bumi’s notice.
There was the hidden agenda – Su needs Lin for something.
The group scurried away as both Tenzin and Mako helped herding them away from the bedrooms.
---
Bumi figured it was too early to be dealing with anything.
He rejoined a sleeping Lin in bed, who in turn, burrowed into his side.
He will deal with the real world later. For now, he will enjoy this.
---
Ignoring Suyin who was still chattering about one thing or another (in all likelihood berating him for not supporting her call to search for her sister), Tenzin mulled over his earlier discovery.
Lin and Bumi are together.
Not just together but together – together.
He wringed with his hands as they walked to the dining hall.
How long have they been together?
He had thought that this knowledge would bother him – well, it did, he reconsidered, but not for the reasons he might have initially thought of.
It was bothering him the same way it would have bothered him to see any woman sleeping with his older brother.
He had reconciled with his siblings and the Beifongs in the recent years, but some things should have remained private between them.
Like Bumi’s sex life.
Like Lin’s sex life.
Like their sex life.
Oh, how he wished he gone back to the past few minutes when he was still blissfully unaware. Or he hoped he would have already forgotten the markings and scars on Lin’s legs in order to not have recognized her in his brother’s bed.
Ah well, Tenzin eyed Lin’s family, the Avatar, Bolin, Asami, and Mako walking beside him, here’s hoping they not find out soon.
He doubted greatly that Lin would enjoy her relationship being disclosed before she deemed it necessary.
He recalled Bumi’s stance earlier, how protective he was of an unknowing Lin.
End of the day, Tenzin just wanted both of them to find happiness. He had did them both wrong in their lifetime and was at a loss on how to rectify it. The airbender had been trying in the past years, but there was only so much he could do.
Too little, too late, he always thought.
Tenzin waved at the acolytes that were leaving the dining hall. Pema sat down beside him and smiled as she handed him the platter of food. He smiled back, thinking still how lucky he was to have her by his side.
And now, by some peculiar twist of fate, Bumi and Lin found each other.
And, if, they make each other happy and content, then, Tenzin decided then and there, he will support them in any way that he can.
---
“Bro, are you going to eat that last piece?”
Mako was shaken from his reverie. Bolin stabbed the food on his plate at his head shake.
“Are you alright, Mako?” Asami was always the sensitive and observant of the group.
The firebender tossed a look at the Avatar chatting with Bolin and Opal at the other side of the table. After making sure that they were preoccupied, he turned to Asami.
Asami raised her eyebrows at him. “Well?”
“I think I know where the chief is.” He could not help but dart a wary glance at the Beifongs. “But it’s not my place to say.” Mako quickly added.
Asami leaned back at her seat and looked at him quizzically. “How did you know where?”
Mako dropped his utensils on the plate and covered his face with his hands. He was not one of Lin’s proteges for nothing.
One of his strengths as a detective is his keen eye for detail.
And details did not evade him in that brief view of Bumi’s bedroom.
It was quite obvious to him that the strewn pieces of clothing belonged to someone he had seen in attendance in the wedding reception earlier.
And that someone is his commanding officer.
---
Said commanding officer made her presence known at the lunch table that noon, surprised at seeing everyone still on the island.
That Chief Beifong was not expecting that there were still other guests at the residential area of Air Temple Island was fairly obvious, as Bumi was walking beside her, whispering at her side with a smile.
The plan was, actually, for most of the guests to have already gone their own ways but that morning’s excursion to Republic City made everyone’s itinerary delayed and their breakfast turned into brunch.
She exchanged a look with Bumi who shrugged and tried to sit at one of the empty tables unnoticed.
Now, while Mako might have been blessed with a sense of discretion, the same cannot be expected of his brother.
This became much apparent when said brother had gaped and thoughtlessly exclaimed, “Lin! We’ve been looking for you all morning – at what corner of Air Temple Island did you sleep at? I doubt this is the walk of shame.”
This pronouncement drew the attention of everyone in the hall – attention at her (their) very late entry and at her clothes which were clearly too formal for the day.
No one dared speak up as the metalbender simply glared at the earthbender, not responding.
There was complete silence in the dining hall.
…until comprehension dawned on Suyin Beifong’s face.
Then all hell broke lose.
---end---
Note: That could have probably gone better but let me know what you think. Anon, hope that worked for you (feel free to leave a note/msg :) ) Hope everyone is doing good, at least.

Even though the text message notification on your phone wasn’t loud in theory, it seemed like it was loud enough to break the sound barrier to your aching head.
Rolling over in your sea of blankets you feel blindly for your phone in the pitch black room, regretting the moment you look at the brightly lit screen of your phone, feeling a fresh stab of pain shoot through your skull at the assaulting light change in your vision field.
When you finally got the screen dark enough for you to read the text message without screaming pain in your head you see it was a text message from Jensen, telling you that he was looking forward to dinner with you tonight when he got off work, and your heart fell in your chest.
You had been suffering from a migraine for the past two days, and it was just getting worse, you had totally forgotten about your plans for dinner with your boyfriend tonight. Hell you didn’t even know what day it was until he texted you, you had barely left your bed.
Letting out a frustrated huff of breath you text him back, and tell him you couldn’t wait to see him. When in reality, you were racking your aching brain, trying to figure out exactly how you were going to survive this date.
You didn’t want to cancel your date with him because of your migraine. It wasn’t like it was something you hadn’t had to suffer through before, having had them from a very young age, and as everyone loved to tell you, ‘It’s just a headache’, so you have had to suffer through dates, birthdays, work, and just about anything you could imagine before.
Also it had been a week since you’d seen Jensen, the two of you hadn’t been dating long, and you didn’t want to disappoint him. In fact this was your first ‘official’ date.
If there was one person you didn’t want to let down because of a ‘stupid headache’ it was him.
So you spent the rest of the day trying medication, home remedies from essential oils, to excessive caffeine intake to get this migraine to let up at least a little bit, in order to fool your boyfriend.
By the time you showered, dressed, and did your makeup, you were pretty sure the drummer for Disturbed was trapped inside your skull, and was playing ‘Down With The Sickness’ on repeat.
Nothing you had tried worked, not even a little bit, this was probably the most relentless migraine you had ever experienced, just because you so desperately needed it to go away, it chose to hang on.
You didn’t have time to wallow long in your self pity before the doorbell sounded, and you opened the door, revealing Jensen.
“Hey baby girl, I missed you.” Jensen said, coming through the door, and grabbing you up into a hug. The swift movement that would have normally made you laugh, made you scrunch up your nose, and close your eyes for a second. Jensen was quick to pick up the change in your normal behavior as well. Not missing a thing. The boy was observant if he was nothing else, and that was going to make this just as hard to hide the fact that you weren’t feeling the best.
“What’s wrong?” he asked you, furrowing his eyebrows as he looked into your eyes, searching you as if he could read your reaction before you answered him.
“Nothing’s wrong, just surprised me that’s all.” you lied smoothly, hoping he’d buy it.
“Oh, sorry, I was just really excited to see you.” he said, grabbing you around the waist, and pulling you closer to him, slower this time, brushing his lips over yours in a sweet kiss.
“S’okay, I really missed your face too,” you tell him jokingly, attempting to lighten the mood.
“Well, let’s get going before they cancel our reservation,” he said, grabbing your jacket, and helping you to slip it on your shoulders. "When we’re done if you're feeling up to it, I thought about taking you down to the pier. It’s beautiful out there at night, one of my favorite places actually.”
You smiled sweetly at him before giving him a peck on his cheek as he opened the car door for you. You couldn’t disappoint him in this, he’d put so much thought into it, and people all over the world would consider you damn lucky to have a date night with Jensen Ackles, so you soldiered through it, determined to not let it show that your skull was pounding.
The ride to the restaurant was a short one mercifully, and they took you both to the back fairly quickly, into the VIP part of the restaurant, one of the perks of being on a date with Jensen.
The strong smell of the Italian food assaulted your senses as soon as you made your way into the room, and you had to swallow down the wave of nausea that assaulted you.
Two very annoying things that made migraines more than just a headache, the sensitivity to light, and smell were horrible.
You tried your best to keep up with the conversation, Jensen talked to you about his day on set, future projects, asking you questions about yourself in an attempt to get to know you better. You thought you were keeping up pretty good with the conversation. Until Jensen finally put his fork down, and pushed his plate away from him, his astonishing green eyes searching yours, and his fingers reaching up nervously to scratch at his beard.
“Y/N… Am I doing something wrong?” Jensen asks, and your heart hit your feet like a lead balloon.
“No Jay, everything is perfect! Why would you think you were doing something wrong?” you asked in earnest, and if you wouldn’t have had a headache, you would have been having a great time.
Jensen picked a perfect restaurant, you loved the food, what little bit you were able to eat of it, and he was being the perfect gentleman. He’d obviously put a lot of thought into this date tonight, and you felt like you had already let him down, or he wouldn’t have even had to ask you that question.
“Well, it’s just that you’ve hardly touched your food at all, you refused the wine when they offered it to you, and you're barely talking to me at all, I feel like I’m carrying the conversation here. I just, you know, wanted you to have a good time.”
You mentally high fived yourself in the face as he looked down at his lap defeated, you never meant to hurt his feelings, you thought you were keeping up the conversation pretty well, he was obviously paying more attention than you gave him credit for, and you were a horrible actor.
Reaching across the table you grab his hand in your own, and his eyes look up to meet yours as he chews nervously at his lower lip, awaiting your rejection.
“Jay, that’s not it, I’m having a good time, It’s just, I wasn’t very honest with you earlier. You see I have these migraines, and I’ve been dealing with this one for the past two days, I thought I could soldier through it without you noticing, but apparently there’s a reason why I’m not an actor. I love spending time with you Jensen, and I didn’t want to let you down.”
Jensen reached across the table with his free hand, your hands in his big, warm hands, his eyes softening instantly, and relief evident on his beautiful face.
“Oh baby, you should have told me!” you looked down for a moment humiliated and embarrassed that you had officially ruined your first date with the man you’d been in love with since the words “Easy tiger” fell from those amazingly pink lips of his fifteen years ago.
Sliding his chair around the small table in order to get closer to you, Jensen wraps his arms around you, and pulls you into his chest, the warmth of his body, and the scent of his cologne had you melting against him in a matter of seconds.
“I’m sorry I ruined our date. I’m sure you never want to go out with me again.” You tell him shyly, enjoying the close contact, convinced it was the last you’d ever get from him.
“Sweetheart, of course I want to see you again, hell you really think you're getting rid of me tonight?” he asked as he motioned to the waiter to bring the check. “We’re getting you home, in some comfy PJ’s, and we’re gonna cuddle until you feel better, even if that takes days.”
If you hadn’t fallen in love with the man already, you would have been right there at that moment. No one had ever treated you like that just because you had a migraine, never. Usually they told you to suck it up, but his main concern seemed to be you feeling better, and getting you home. You didn’t know how the hell you got so lucky to have found this man, but you thanked whatever God out there that was listening that you did.
Once Jensen got you home, medicated, and in your comfy PJ’s he changed into some he’d still had packed in his car, and snuggled down into the bed next to you, turning the lights off in the bedroom, getting it as cold as the two of you could stand it, and enveloping you in his strong arms. Playing with your hair softly, and peppering you with little, soft kisses ever so often until you relaxed against him.
Even with a horrible migraine you fell asleep that night more content than you had ever been in your life, you could definitely get used to sleeping in this man’s arms.
The next morning came and you were greeted with a cup of coffee, and Jensen’s lips kissing your head, snuggling back down into the covers next to you.
“Feeling better, baby girl?” he asked you, letting you settle back against him with a cup of coffee curled in your fingers. His warm body pressed tightly to yours.
“Much better, migraine seems to be gone, or almost gone, you're a miracle worker.” you tell him, giving him a quick peck on the cheek, before settling back down against him.
“I got the magic touch.” he said, tickling your sides a little, causing you to giggle against him.
“Seriously, baby girl, next time you're not feeling well tell me, we’ll have a night in, as long as I’m with you, I don’t care how I spend it. I just want to be with you.”
“How did I get so lucky to have you, Jensen?” you asked him, looking into his piercing green eyes that you could honestly drown in.
“Better remember it to, baby girl. Cause I’m one of a kind”
Giving him a jab in the ribs playfully you reveil in the laugh that vibrated through him. He was right about one thing, he was definitely one of the kind.

Cheesecake Was The Reason | Sanji x Reader |
Tumblr media
A/N: This is my first post and also my first time writing an “??? x Reader”. Hopefully you all enjoy! I DON’T A OWN ANYTHING BUT: THE STORY PLOT AND DUSK!!!   Word court: 2,530
(Y/N) = Your name (C/C)= Career Choice (H/C) = Hair Color (H/L) = Hair Length (S/C) = Skin color (E/C) = Eye Color (F/F) = Favorite Food (B/T) = Body Type (Y/B/H) = Your Body Height
                                      ═✩══╡˚✧❨✧˚╞══✩═
Staring at one another, the brunette companion couldn’t help but laugh at their friend. (Y/N) had to hold back from attacking them, sinking into her chair as their laugh ceased to a chuckle. The pair always met up for a cafe date. The date was just to catch up on their lives since the pair couldn’t really meet every day. Her brunette friend was going to college for Fashion Design, while she had only gone for her (C/C).
“You’re so dumb for not checking,” Dusk leaned forward and took a sip of her Oreo milkshake, smirking at their (H/C) (H/L) haired friend.
(Y/N) huffed as she crossed her arms over her chest, avoiding the teasing eyes of her companion. She reached for her latte and took a sip. She recalls the events, being reminded herself what she had done.
                                     ═✩══╡˚✧❨✧˚╞══✩═
After a rather tough gym session, she was laying on her bed after a nice shower for her sore muscles. She reached for her phone and decided to text her fashionista friend. Telling her that she was craving a scrumptious strawberry cheesecake from the Baratie restaurant that the pair went to a year ago. The cheesecake was heaven for her. It was creamy with a light sweetness from the strawberry graze. The flavor was something she’ll die for again if she had the chance. She set her phone down as she waited for her friend’s reply.
She smiled at the memory from that lively night. Dusk saved her paychecks in order to take (Y/N) to the restaurant for her birthday, seeing as the restaurant was rather extravagant and one had to book a reservation months in advance. How the brunette managed to get an appointment on her birthday was something she wondered but she was happy to be treated to a fancy dinner. Especially when she was studying hard for her own exams, the young adult deserved a break.
She had texted someone, no doubt on that. However, she had clicked the wrong icon on the app. (Y/N) didn’t text Dusk, instead she had texted a stranger. The stranger received the text, and he couldn’t help but smile at the text. He didn’t know who the person was but he didn’t want to be rude since the text had complimented his workplace. Although, it wasn’t addressed to him personally. He blew out a cloud of smoke before replying to the text.
“Thank you for enjoying the meal. It warms my heart that you had a great birthday at the restaurant. However, I’m not Dusk… I’m sorry, but I think you have got the wrong person,” He texted before hitting the send button.
(Y/N) was surfing YouTube while she waited. She started to wonder what was taking her bestie so long, normally they were fast to reply. Maybe they were finishing up an assignment that was due tonight, but that doesn’t stop them from texting her. She was about to text them once more, until her notification popped up on the screen. Her (E/C) eyes widen at the unknown icon that showed on her phone screen. She was a bit suspicious of who had texted her, it could be spam.”
“Thank you for… It warms my heart that… not Dusk… got the wrong person,” She read slowly as pink slowly spread across her (S/C) face.
Quickly tossing her phone across the bed, (Y/N) stuffed her flustered face into her pillow and let out a rather loud, muffled shriek. After an hour of mentally cursing her dumbass and praying to whatever god to give her strength on not embarrassing herself more, she got a hold of her phone once again to try and reply to the stranger on the other end. Clearing up the mess she had put herself in and hoping she didn’t heck up again.
                                     ═✩══╡˚✧❨✧˚╞══✩═
“He seems like a cool guy. I mean, he could have pulled an asshole move by leading you on. What else happened, my dude?” Dusk shrugged as she finished up the milkshake. They picked up the small tablet and requested for another milkshake, it being her third one in the past hour.
(Y/N) sighed and finished up her coffee before setting the empty cup to the end of the table, “He said he wouldn’t mind if we went to the Baratie, even saying he would pay for our meals since not a lot of people compliment his cooking. Apparently my description of how fucking delicious the cheesecake was touched his heart, especially after a hard day in kitchen.”
The brunette nodded their head, resting their chin on the palm of their hand as they silently stared at the (H/C) female. The man was nice and he was kind enough to give her an offer. However, they couldn’t shake the feeling something would happen if they went. Free food is a blessing and free food from one of the city’s most top-tier restaurants was like a grace of god. When their third milkshake came, Dusk took a few sips so as to help make a decision.
“Alrighty then! We’ll go whenever he can get a reservation so we cast a food critic worthy review. Text him that so we know when, bae,” the brunette grinned.
(Y/N) smiled at her friend and texted the Baratie cook about his offer. The pair continued with their cafe date, joking around and enjoying the rest of the evening together even after the cafe.
                                     ═✩══╡˚✧❨✧˚╞══✩═
A few weeks had passed when it came to the restaurant day. The Baratie cook, who later said his name was Sanji, had told (Y/N) that he had managed to get a table cleared for her at the Baratie on the last Saturday of the next month. It was a loathsome wait for the dinner to come, the (E/C) eyed female was growing more anxious as it got closer. Dusk had planned the dress appeal for her earlier that month. They slightly lied about the restaurant having a dress code rule, but in reality they wanted to doll her up again for the special night.
The pair walked into the restaurant and told the host about their reservation. The host nodded before giving the menus and led the pair to one of the more private booths. A waiter came by for them and the pair ordered for some drinks before silence came over them. Dusk mainly looked over the menu to see what was appropriate for this night, while (Y/N) glanced around nervously.
She tugged slightly on her dress. Having her friend pick out her clothes was probably a good idea, but she should have said something on the length. It was short and fit to her (B/T) but the dress may be too short because it reached a little up to her mid-thigh. The more she tugged on the dress, the more she wanted to ask her friend for their coat. (Y/N) blushed a bit as her friend looked up from the menu to see her struggling with the outfit.
“Why did I let you dress me? This is cute and all, but it’s short as hell!” she quietly protested
The brunette only stared before looking over to the side and smiled at the waiter who came with their drinks and orders. After they ordered, Dusk leaned back into the leather seat and gave her a devilish smirk.
“Honestly, I wanted to see if you can charm the dude with that cute body of yours. You talk about him often, seeing as you and him have been texting in your spare time,” they commented before taking a sip of their drink.
(Y/N) covered her blushing face in her hands upon hearing their words. They were right about her texting him practically everyday. The past couple of weeks weren’t boring with the consent images of all the dishes he made. She would drool at the sight of each plate, secretly wanting to be a small piggy and pork it all down. The conversations she shared with Sanji were fun when it wasn’t about food. He would talk about recipes to asking how her day was. To her, he seemed to be a real gentlemanly kind of male. She won’t admit to anyone that she may have developed a sort of crush on the mysterious cook behind the screen.
                                     ═✩══╡˚✧❨✧˚╞══✩═
In the kitchen, a tall blond man was cooking up a storm. He wanted to make these dishes perfect! His pride was on the line because he was cooking for not just anyone tonight. He was cooking for the cute (H/C) female of his long text messaging nights from work. The blond always looked forward to the conversations. Each message was like a break from the stressful kitchen after cooking over thousands of plates for the hungry customs and regulars.
Sanji loved his job and he always made outstanding dishes. His mentor and father figure had taught him everything a chef of his expertise could do. The blond was the sou chef to the infamous Zeff, his teaching put him where he is now. Being a sou chef in a five star restaurant, it helped him get a better living style after the incident with his actual family. Something he wasn’t fond of and much rather leave it out of his life. When (Y/N) had texted that night, he swore he felt his heart stop.
He was telling the truth about never receiving a compliment, it was normally to Zeff who got them since he was the head chef and it was his kitchen. When he got the text, he knew it was a mistake but it nevertheless made him happy to get it. His offer on getting them a reservation had no catch, but he did want to see (Y/N)’s reaction to his cooking. He wanted her opinion over the flavors and texture the food had. To him, she was like a food angel. Not only did she give a review on the food she had all those months ago, she had remembered how she felt and how it tasted.
Tonight, he was going to outdo himself with their orders. As he finished up the detailing, Sanji set the dishes off. However, he told the server to inform the customers that once they were finished to ask for him right away. He didn’t wish to waste a moment!
                                     ═✩══╡˚✧❨✧˚╞══✩═
When their food had arrived, (Y/N) said her thanks before taking a careful bite of the (F/F). Her eyes widened as the pleasurable flavors a simple spoonful had. She took a minute to get herself back into reality before digging right in. Dusk chuckled to themselves at listening to her delightful moans as they ate their own meal. After they finished, the waiter came back and asked if they wished to get the chef.
“Yes, may we have a word with the chef who made these heavenly meals. We wish to personally thank them for their hard work,” Dusk quickly spoke before (Y/N) could utter a word in.
With the waiter leaving, the brunette set their napkin on their plate before getting up. (Y/N) looked up at her friend and was about to ask what they were doing. Dusk pointed over to the corner to show that they were heading to the restroom. Hiding their smirk from her, they left and let the (Y/B/H) meet her virtual crush.
                                     ═✩══╡˚✧❨✧˚╞══✩═
When Sanji saw her, he couldn’t help but blush at the sight of her (S/C) beauty. The dress was ravishing and showed the right amount of her to still leave for the imagination. He had to take a moment to shake his head before reaching her. He cleared his throat to get her attention and smiled at her, happy to finally see her in person after weeks of texting.
“Hey, Chérie. You look so beautiful tonight,” He smiled while standing by the table, looking down at her with gentle gray blue eyes.
His words made her cheek turn scarlet rather instantly. (Y/n) hung her head down and mumbled out a quiet thank you. There was a brief silence between the pair, until Sanji decided to tilt her head to face him. He could only smile at her before gesturing if he could take a seat with her, she quickly nodded a yes.
He broke the ice first with what he knew best, “ Was your food okay? Did it miss anything? If it did, I whip up something better for you, belle.”
Her head snapped up as she stared at the male with such shock. How could he ask if his cooking was just okay. It was way better than great and even beyond delicious!
“Your cooking is better than delicious, Sanji! It was like I was eating gold if that even has flavor. I bet you could make it taste flavorful too,” she yelled at the blond. Not a loud yell but one that sounded more firm and thankful.
His smile turned to a grin as her words made his heart flip. He chuckled at her pouty face, seeing as she may be annoyed from what he said. He reached over the table for her hand and rubbed his thumb over her knuckles. Sanji was glad his cooking was marvelous enough for his angel. (Y/N) gave him a sweet smile in return, feeling the warmth from his hand on her cold hand.
They stared into each other’s eyes for the longest time, no words were shared between them. His grey ocean orbs lost in the silk smooth (E/C) depths of her eyes. They were enjoying the physical presence of each other after weeks of talking to one another over the phone. The restaurant became white noise as they were in their own world in that private booth.
Glancing down at this watch, Sanji internally dreaded the reality of going back to work. He looked back at (Y/N) before leaving a soft kiss to her hand.
“I have to get back to the kitchen if not the old man will have my hands,” he joked as he stood up and walked over to her. He smiled and shyly looked at her when he said the next few words, “May I take you on a proper date next time?”
(Y/N)’s face lit up like a fire blazing on a cold winter night. She didn’t trust her voice so instead she nodded her head as her smile grew to a grin. Sanji grinned and bent down to place a gentle kiss on her forehead, feeling relieved that his angel had said yes.
As he walked away, her brunette had returned from the restroom and took a seat back at the booth. They noticed the way (Y/N) stared longingly at the retreating blond. They didn’t bother to ask her what had happened, seeing her like a crushing schoolgirl was enough to satisfy them. Leaning back in their seat, the brunette waited for their order of strawberry cheesecake. It was after all the main reason for coming.

Happy Birthday Hifumi!
Just a little something for our very special party boy :))) — It’s Hifumi’s birthday, but he wasn’t going to skip work. Doppo had greeted him happy birthday (well, tried to, the salaryman left a sweet post-it in the bedside table) that morning. Apologising over and over again because the office wanted him early, like, really early. The blonde smiled at that, his boyfriend, always the worry wart. Jakurai had called him, greeting Hifumi happy birthday, though he also called to apologise that he wouldn’t be able to meet up with him, the hospital needed him around and he couldn’t find a way. Though disheartened, Hifumi just replied in his usual puppy-like way, a smile plastered on his face and joy laced in his tone. He told the doctor that it was okay and texted Doppo saying that he would hopefully be able to spend time with him on Sunday, when Doppo was off work. With a sigh, Hifumi got out of bed and just spent the day lounging around at home, cooking food and working out, a bit sad that he was spending it alone. It was different when it was a regular day because it was a regular day, not his birthday. He even made himself a small cake, which is kind of... well. It came with a glass of bourbon though, and had orange liqueur in the icing and the cake itself so, one could say that he was satisfied. In other words, he had a lot of time to do things, but he couldn’t exactly bring himself to go out. He just wasn’t in the mood and would want nothing more than to spend it with his friends. He wasn’t angry of course, but he couldn’t help wishing that they had tried a little harder to spend time with him, even just for a lunch or something. Before leaving for work, he put on his suit, switching into his other persona, though part of him wished he wasn’t spending the night like this, especially on his birthday. He sighed, forcing himself to give himself a charming smile as he looked in the mirror, looking dapper as ever wearing his floral suit and eyes glittering. He walked to work, winking at every passerby that gave him a look and savoured the sounds of the street, the neon lights flashing like a public disco party. Hifumi tried his best to walk confidently to work, his head held up high, even if he felt a little out of it. Oddly enough though, when he stood in front of his club, it was quiet. Usually there was a long line of girls waiting outside, extending even over to the next block. There was also supposed to be a party already going on inside, lights flashing and laughed coming out of the doors. But there was none of that, it was just quiet, the lights off, the interior completely dark. So Hifumi took out his hypnosis mic, turned it on and walked inside, his nerves slightly on edge. The suit helped him remain calm and even a little brave. He opened the door, silence and darkness greeting him. He crept in quietly, his leather shoes barely making any sound on the wooden floor. The door swung shut behind him and he forced himself not to yelp in surprise and tried not to feel like he was the one being trapped in his own place. Hifumi knew the layout of his club, memorised it like the back of his hand, so it was no problem to navigate even in the complete darkness. His mind raced with the possibilities of what could be going on, maybe a prank, or another crazed stalker... or maybe everyone decided to go somewhere else, even his waiters and his bartenders... which wouldn’t make any sense because he was a good boss and he never treated his employees wrongly. He made his way to the center of the club, a few meters away from where the bar should be. He stopped, holding his breath so he could hear whatever was going on. He swore he heard someone’s voice and he turned his head around, hoping his eyes would adjust to the inky blackness. Suddenly, arms wrapped around him and shoved him into a chair. Hifumi almost shouted, if it weren’t for the hand covering his mouth. He tried to wriggle free, but the arms held firm. He tried licking the hand, but it didn’t budge even as he started to find it disgusting. Though he did taste the alcohol on the palm, and not the kind of liquor he liked or knew of, but rubbing alcohol... The white ceiling lights suddenly turned on and the arms let go of him. Hifumi’s eyes adjusted and he whirled around, his fists balled and positioned to hit, looking at who got him. Only to find the doctor away from him, Jakurai smiling and out of reach. “Happy Birthday.” Another voice said from behind him. Hifumi turned around slowly and saw his boyfriend, hands outstretched and holding a two-tier cake, with a spilled glass of champagne as the topper, spilling out glittering golden fondant over the tiers, artfully done by whatever baker. It was complete with Hifumi’s favourite chocolates and some flowers to adorn it. The blonde’s heart soared, shocked by what he beheld before him, his jaw open. The two of them must have... well, he didn’t care. Doppo smiled at him, wearing the party outfit Hifumi bought him, a green silk button down shirt and ripped jeans, the top unbuttoned halfway down the chest, drawing Hifumi’s attention to the necklace he wore. Doppo’s face looked beautiful illuminated by the faint candlelight. “Sorry we lied.” He said softly. “We just wanted to surprise you.” He smiled again. “Give you a day off.” Jakurai came behind Hifumi, putting a hand on his shoulder. “Perhaps you would like to take off the suit.” Hifumi didn’t even realize he was still wearing it, his persona switched without even taking it off, but he slid off the blazer anyway, placing it on the chair where Jakurai held him hostage. He turned around and bowed slightly to sensei, remembering what he did. “Sensei! I’m sorry about your hand!” He blushed, realizing that it was alcohol from the hospital that he was tasting. Jakurai chuckled. “I’m the one that held you hostage.” He put his hands in his pockets, Jakurai looking graceful as usual in a black button down and black slacks, his black coat nowhere to be seen. “It’s my fault.” Doppo put the cake down on the bar table. “If you were scared I’m sorry-“ He was interrupted by Hifumi crashing into him, hugging him tight. “Thank you thank you thank you!” Hifumi said and kissed Doppo with every thank you. He pulled away from Doppo and did the same to Jakurai, without the kissing of course. Hifumi was grinning from ear to ear, but then frowned when he thought about his club. “What about-“ Jakurai held up a hand. “I took care of it. Your employees were more than happy to clear out for the night.” Jakurai’s eyes glittered. “They said they might have something for you as well.” Hifumi smiled again, the sad feeling in his chest completely gone. He was so happy that his friends bothered, that he wasn’t going to just go to work that night. “Aren’t you going to blow the candles?” Doppo asked quietly as he took his place behind the bar. “And I’m not that good at drinks, but I thought I should... try the stuff you taught me.” He paused. “If that’s alright with you.” Hifumi nodded, his blonde hair bouncing. “I love you!” Doppo blushed at that. “Blow your cake.” He asked softly. Hifumi stepped up to the cake and closed his eyes, wishing that there would be more nights like this and blew the candles out. Jakurai clapped, suddenly handing Hifumi a long box. “I didn’t know what to get you.” Jakurai said as Hifumi brought it close to his ear, shaking it like a little kid. The blonde opened the lid and gasped at what he found inside. He pulled out a shot glass out of the five that was inside. Etched in the glass was his MC name, GIGOLO and on the other side was the Matenrou logo. The other glasses had different designs on them, one had a rose on it, another had crystals arranged in swirls, another had gold glitters all over, and the last was covered in etched flowers. “I hope you like them.” Jakurai said as Hifumi examined them with wide eyes. “I had them made for you.” Hifumi put them down on the bar gingerly, not quite believing that he got them. He then wiped his eyes. “Thank you, Sensei.” Jakurai smiled at Hifumi. “Not a problem.” Doppo cleared his throat, bringing the attention back to him. He then handed Hifumi his gift, sliding it across the bar, it was a small box. The blonde smiled and opened it immediately, gasping at the contents. The salaryman’s heart warmed at the expression, memorising it. Hifumi lifted out a golden bracelet, seeing that it was laser-etched with flowers on the outside, and on the inside, a message from Doppo. “More precious than gold.” Doppo muttered as Hifumi read it. The host put it on immediately, smiling as he did so, then grabbed Doppo and kissed him, expressing his gratitude enthusiastically. Jakurai chuckled. “Well.” He looked at Doppo as Hifumi pulled away. “Doppo-kun, weren’t you going to make drinks?” “Y-Yes sensei!” Doppo turned away from the birthday boy, blushing as he picked alcohol from the bar. Hifumi giggled, beyond happy with what was happening right at that moment. And it was one of the best birthdays he ever had, even if he drank himself to sleep that night.

02 / PHYSICAL TRAITS
Hair Color/Style: Black and spiky. Yes, he uses gel to get it that way.
Eye Color: Black
Face Claim: Ross Butler
Height: 6′2
Tattoos: A sea turtle on his calf and a more traditional design on his upper arm. The latter was done through the method of kakau, or hand-tapping, and Kent was thrilled when the highly selective artist chose him for that work. He also has his mother’s name  as a band on his other arm but he doesn’t like to look at it—it was a spur of the moment decision, and the tribute seems like a stupid idea now. He wasn’t even there for her while she was alive. It’s too little, too late, and  Kent knows it.
Piercings: N/A
Unique Attributes: As a striker and as a person who simply can’t keep still, Kent’s usually got bruises somewhere.
03 / PERSONALITY TRAITS/TYPES
Positive Traits: Daring, free-thinking, energetic, imaginative.
Negative Traits: Aggressive, escapist, foolish, irresponsible.
Hobbies/Interests: Surfing, mixing up (and drinking!) fruity drinks, Exy, indoor rock climbing, martial arts. He enjoys press duty and doesn’t mind being the center of attention, even if it’s due to notoriety. He loves Instagram and posts far too many videos of himself showing off in practice.
Major/Minor: Geoscience major. He’s not exactly ambitious, having resigned himself to working as a waiter or a surf instructor before Wymack came along, but sometimes he thinks he could do something with environmental preservation. Realistically though, he’ll end up a bartender.
Insecurities: His anger. His fear. The way he runs when things get hard. The way he lets people down. He’d only just reached what felt like an equilibrium with the Foxes and now here’s Bianca, bringing it all back, making everything worse.
Quirks/Eccentricities:  Kent fidgets like crazy. Pens spinning, feet tapping, constantly standing, pacing, sitting back down, repeat ad infinitum. His notes are always covered in terrible doodles. In high school, his teachers used to let him stand up in class. It was the only way he could achieve some semblance of focus.
MBTI Type: ESFP, “the Performer”. They like hands-on experience and struggle in traditional classroom settings. They often fail to think of the long-term consequences. They are gregarious, spontaneous, and fun-loving. They are impulsive, easily bored, and often do not think ahead.
Enneagram Type: Type 7, “the Enthusiast”. At their best, they are grateful for what they have, awed by the simple wonders of life, joyous, and extroverted. At their worst, they are impulsive, childish, desperate to quell their anxieties, erratic, and on the run from their own emotions and concerns.
Moral Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Temperament: Sanguine
04 / FAMILY & HOME
Immediate Family: Hannah Cheong (mother, deceased). Spencer North (step-father, estranged), Kimberly North (step-mother, estranged), Bianca Shay (half-sister, 19, unwanted).
How do they feel about their family?: Kent loved his mom. Before her diagnosis, Kent was a quintessential momma’s boy and proud of it. He knew it wasn’t easy for her to keep up with him, a boy with seemingly endless energy, but she tried her best. If she hadn’t died, all his best memories would’ve involved her. Now, though, all that love has turned to guilt. Kent wasn’t there for her—nevermind that he was a child, nevermind that he was hurting too. All his hindsight tells him is he didn’t take care of her. He didn’t love her the way she needed. He let her down. When she passed, he wasn’t even in the room. Kent has never forgiven himself. As far as his step-father goes, Kent allows himself  to be fully pissed off. Spencer pretended to love him, pretended he wanted to raise him, and as soon as things got hard? As soon as Spencer had a new wife? He was done with Kent. Deep down though, Kent wonders if it’s because he saw how useless Kent was when his mother was sick. Deep down, he’s a little more heartsick than he wants to be about his step-dad’s betrayal, after Kent worked so hard to accept him in the first place. Now, with Bianca, Kent isn’t even giving her the chance. He’s done the family thing. He’s over it.
How does their family feel about them?: Kent’s mother adored him. Her sickness never tainted that, nor did his avoidance of the reality. He was so young, he was losing her, the most important person in his life, and she understood. She told Spencer to look after him and truly believed he would. If she were alive to see the way Spencer washed his hands of Kent, eager to start over with a new wife and new start, she’d be furious. Meanwhile, Bianca is determined to win Kent over. As far as she’s concerned, he’s her fresh start. The brother she never had. The family member who hasn’t lied to her. Even when he’s keeping her at arm’s length, he’s brutally honest about it. As a Vixen now, she’s desperately hoping he’ll see the truth: she’s great, she’s lovable, and they can learn to be brother and sister now.
Pets: N/A
Where do they live?: He still thinks of Honolulu as home, even if he doesn’t have anywhere to go there. In reality, he’s in Palmetto full time.
Description of their home: Fox Tower
Description of their bedroom: Kent’s portion of the room is a mess. He fills their fridge with mixers and leftovers he forgets to throw out, stuffs booze under their bunk beds like he has to hide it, and leaves his dirty gym bag out in the open. He’s hung up some basic posters for sports teams and a calendar with Hawaiian scenery.
05 / THIS OR THAT
Introvert or extrovert? Extrovert.
Optimist or pessimist? Pessimist.
Leader or Follower? Follower. Who wants that responsibility?
Confident or Self-Conscious? Confident.
Cautious or Careless? Careless.
Passionate or Apathetic? Apathetic.
Book Smarts or Street Smarts? Street smarts.
Compliments or Insults? Insults.
06 / FAVORITES
Favorite Color: Blue
Favorite Clothing Style/Outfit: He’s a BRO. Muscle tanks, board shorts (yes, even though they aren’t on the beach in Palmetto), socks and sandals, (backwards) snapbacks, sunglasses, bandannas, and duh, he’ll wear some Fox orange throughout it all.
Favorite Bands/Songs/Type of Music: Rock, Hawaiian folk, EDM, reggae, pop. Kent isn’t picky about what he listens to, but he does like to play it loud.
Favorite Movies: Shitty comedies, B- sci fi films, 80s horror.
Favorite TV Shows: He doesn’t usually have the focus for the full run of a TV show, but sometimes he’ll throw on a sitcom for background noise.
Favorite Books: Who reads? For fun?
Favorite Foods/Drinks: Poi, any form of salmon, poke, rice, and yeah, he’s got a soft spot for Spam.  Team ‘the food in Palmetto sucks compared to back home’. He’ll drink anything alcoholic, but he loves fruity drinks, knows how to mix his own and will do so for the other Foxes at parties. He certainly isn’t ashamed to order a cocktail when they’re out at Eden’s.
Favorite Sports/Sports Teams: Foxes all the way for Exy, but he still follows football too and misses it more than he’ll admit.
Favorite Time of Day: Morning, especially the sunrise.
Favorite Weather/Season: Summer. Suns out, guns out!
Favorite Animal: Sea turtles

A few days later Liam drove himself over to Olivia’s estate to pick up Saige for their dinner plans. He drove a Rhodium Silver F type Jaguar convertible. He wanted to appear normal, yet impress Saige. He was greeted at the door by one of his closest friends, Olivia. “Liam.. I’m not sure what you have in mind, but you hurt her and I will commit treason again a member of the royal family.”, she narrowed her eyes glaring at Liam.
“Olivia, I have no ulterior motives where Saige is concerned. I find her … refreshing and would simply like to spend time with her getting to know better.”, he smiles apologetically. Before Liam could say another word, Saige descended the grand staircase. She was positively glowing as she sauntered down the stairs smiling in his direction.
He took in her beauty, noticing the lady in red backless midi dress with a spin at the bottom. The dress was flattering to her curves and complexion. She wore her auburn hair is a sexy loosely fishtail braid cascading to the side. She paired the dress with a pair of red peep toe strappy suede sandals.Olivia silently laughed watching Liam’s reaction to laying eyes on Saige in this dress.Liv whispered, “she knocks your socks off huh?”
Liam leans down and kisses the back of her hand, you … you look stunning lady Saige”, he was breathless. Liam could not tear his gaze away from her eyes… which were sparkling like the ocean beneath the early morning sunrise. “ Good evening Liam”, she softly spoke his name. He bowed his head to her in acknowledgment, “ Good evening Lady Saige. Are you ready for our evening?”, his baritone tone was like velvet when he whispered near her ear. Saige felt a slight thrill in the close proximity to Liam. She cast a playful smirk as she glanced at him over her shoulder. “ I’m ready when you are.” With that being said… they set off on a quiet evening out.
Liam opened her car door, allowing her to slide into the sleek, sexy roaring luxury sports car. He glanced over to gauge her reaction as the car hugged the curves of the road along the coastline heading into the capital. She couldn’t stop smiling as she took in the picturesque beauty of the drive. A few times , he noticed her eyes close just soaking it in with each passing moment. A short time later, they pull up to a quaint little bistro nestled between the library and a few small collectible shops. He helped her out of the car and tapped the side entrance door to the restaurant to gain access. Saige side eyes Liam wondering why they didn’t enter from the front door she noticed on the way in. Upon entering, Saige noticed how empty the restaurant was for the time of evening and the day of the week. She figured there would be patrons enjoying a quiet meal discussing the work week. The waiter guided them to a hidden nook off near an uninhabited corner of the restaurant.
“This is a lovely restaurant… are they usually this empty this time of evening?”, she inquired quietly. “ I would think with it being a Thursday… there would be more traffic here.”, she smiled at the rich mahogany woods and vibrant sea blues and turquoise decor. The lighting soft and muted, the flicker of candles on the tables lending a glow to the patrons.
“ How did you find this place Liam? It’s not very large, but that’s a good thing. You want to take away from the ambiance of the restaurant. I like a place where the food is the star of the show..”, she grins as the manager came over to personally greet Liam and Saige. The older, balding gentleman greeted Liam with a hug… familiarity evident from the exchange. “How have you been this beautiful evening?”, he smiled widely while eying the young lady sitting across from Liam. “Who is this πανέμορφος (panémorfos) beauty?”, he asked with a rich Greek accent . Liam smiled and Saige blushed where her cheeks were tinged red, she became flush. “ Yiorgos… this is my new friend, Saige. She’s visiting our fair country from America. So … I really need to impress her with your delicious cuisine.”, he chuckled . Yiorgos’s eyes darted back and forth between the two . “ I will surprise you with the best of the house. I will send over my finest Ouzo.”, he boasted. He disappeared into the kitchens.
Liam could not take his eyes off of Saige. He felt a warmth in his chest as he locked eyes with her. He could not look away. She looked around wondering what he was staring at around her. “Do I...have something on my face?, she questioned.
“Why would you think you have something on you? I just happen to think your beautiful and it’s a little difficult to get you out of my head”,he shrugged and shot her a crooked grin.Saige’s eyes veered down to the cloth napkin, staring processing what he had just said. Saige was momentarily speechless before a waiter bought the Ouzo over to the table, pouring the drinks and removing himself from the interaction quickly.
“How did you manage to make dinner plans in a restaurant this nice … to have only the two of us dining here?”, she quirked her brow waiting for his response. Liam tried to contain his smirk and evade her questions. He didn’t want to be evasive, but he also wondered what she would think of the real Liam.
“Did you ask for a private party or something?”, she chuckled.
“ My family has been coming here for years. My mother and father would make plan to come here to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries. I remember my mother would bring me here when we would spend time together at the library. She made a point of it being just she and I for lunches. She would ask me … about my day and plans for my next birthday. Over the years… after she died, my brother would come here with his dates , or my father , when he reminisced of their time together.”Saige recognized a kindred spirit of sadness in his voice and eyes. She reached across the table , she gripped his hand comfortingly. “That was nice that you all continued to return. The owner must really like your family,”, she laughed trying to lighten the mood.
“Well… there’s that and security requirements.”, he spoke nonchalantly.
“Wait.. what? What does that mean? Why would your family have security concerns?”, she glanced quizzically.
My family is in the public eye quite a bit and to have a few places that we can just unwind … is needed.”, he said.
“Really? Did you bring your girlfriends here as well? You mentioned that your brother made use of the private restaurant.”, she rests her chin against her balled fist.
“ That… that’s not really something I saw a desire to do. I spent most of my time hanging out with close friends or time alone. The girls my brother brought here were seeking of the spotlight.. to be seen with … with my brother was welcomed.”, he smiled softly.
Moments later the food started to arrive to the table. The plethora of Gyros,Dolmades,Souvlaki,Moussaka, the final touch a decadent dessert of baklava .They fell into a comforting silence enjoying the evening and the food. They traded mmms and aahs over the timeless lingering flavors that saturated their taste palettes. After awhile, the table was being cleared and Saige picked up her line of questioning.
“You never told me what you family does to garner that type of attention.”, she cupped the side of her face as she stared attentively awaiting an answer.
“Saige… my family ,my father happens to be the ruler of Cordonia”, he whispered in passing.
“Ruler???... as in King of Cordonia?, her blue eyes widened in realization. “ So that makes you … a prince?, she gasped in shock. Saige’s hand flies up to cover her mouth and her eyes widened, “Liam… you're the prince?”
Liam released a deep breath he never realized he was holding, “Well yes and no… my brother is the crowned prince, he’s next in line for the throne.”, he slowly shook his head while trying to make his point. “ I hope this doesn’t change your thoughts about spending time with me.”, he swallowed the knot in his throat.
Saige paused for a few seconds, she whispered, “ why would you not lead off by telling me your a member of the royal family?” She sighed, “ how often do you take women out like this? This is a little bit of a shock…”, she trailed off.Liam reached across the table.. reaching for her hand desperately needing to convince her of a compelling reason to keep his secret.
“ Saige”, he gasped , “ this is not me… this is not my normal. My brother is used to all the attention and bouncing from woman to woman in the public eye. I’ve never had a need for all the attention. I have never felt moved to want to impress anyone or subject them to headlines.”
“Wait Liam… how can you move about without being hounded by the press? I would think you would have security with you.”, she inquired with her brows raised in surprise.
Liam flashed a guilty grin, he paused,” I do.. I do have security with us here tonight. It was a battle to convince my security to allow me to drive myself. He followed behind at a comfortable distance… to not make you feel uncomfortable.”, he paused thoughtfully, “I hope this doesn’t affect your decision to be out with me tonight.”
“I enjoyed spending time with Liam last night and tonight. It was you, not your title that convince me to want to spend time with you. It was the gentle, caring, exciting man that made me want to spend an evening with you. This doesn’t sway me one way or the other. I’m a big girl… We can just enjoy this evening.”, she smiled.
“What would a perfect first date consist of for you Saige?”, he asked leaning forward, listening intently, never breaking his eye contact.
“ Well, this is pretty nice, a quiet dinner… I guess following up with a slow walk close by the restaurant… or even a stroll on the beach. We’d spend time just hanging out. I enjoy dinner, a movie, bowling, the beach, music… any of those things would suit me just fine”, she giggled. Liam stood up, extended his hand to her to stand, wave at the manager acknowledging they were leaving. Dinner had already been arranged and paid for prior to their date. Liam guided Saige out of the restaurant, gently placing his hand at the small of her back. She felt a spark in that moment, his finger tips touching her bare skin. She softly bow out a cool breath unnoticed. Liam opened the restaurant door, escorted Saige back to the sports car and they continued the evening taking a drive back down to the private beach.
“ Why me?... I’m sure you could have your pick of any woman to spend time with, but me?”, Saige was questioning his decision. Liam took her hand in his and slowly entwined his fingers with her fingers. He strided down the beach with her after allowing her a moment to remove her heels. “Saige… why not you? You had me at hello, I had never met anyone like you… so down to earth, so sweet and funny. There was no pretense when we talked yesterday. You were open to getting to know me. Other women in this country know the image of a prince, whispers of the royal family, but none of that mattered to you. Even when I briefly mentioned the monarchy, you let the subject drift away in the night.”, he paused in their stroll. Liam turned to face her, blue eyes meeting under the moonlight, deep in thought contemplating her reaction.
“You seem like you have something on your mind Liam? You know you can talk to me about anything.”, she smiled gently , focused on his eyes. She felt his thumb moving across the back of her hand, grazing her knuckles. “ I was thinking… how very much I would like to kiss you. Nothing too forward, but watching you beautiful lips… I wondered how they’d feel against mine.” Saige felt a slight breeze against her face and her back. She smirked, “ well .. go for it.” Liam slowly cupped the side of her face, lowering his lips to meet hers, feeling a warm sensation of her mouth, so soft. He felt an electricity in that moment. This was not too presumptuous, it lasted several seconds. Liam rested his his lips on her a few moments following, savoring this first. He hesitated to pull away, opening his eyes and leaning his forehead gently against her forehead. They smiled softly while she was biting her bottom lip. “That was nice Liam.”, she reached up touching his face gently. “ This has been a wonderful night, but perhaps we should go… I’m sure Olivia is wondering where we are.”, she chuckled.Liam smiled, “ I suppose you right… I must say… I’m going to hate seeing this night come to an end.”Saige could see he was genuinely happy with her, but were she being honest, she didn’t want the night to end either . They can’t stop smiling and glancing at each other. Saige brushed her feet off before putting her heels back on and the drive back to Lythikos .
Liam found himself reaching out for her hand and gently kissing the back of her hand. He had never felt such a pull with any woman before… he felt a need to touch her in one way or another. He glanced into the rear view mirror the closer they got to Olivia’s house. Saige noticed the black SUV behind them that had been inconspicuously absent all evening. She supposed she hadn’t noticed until he mentioned it at the restaurant. She grinned at Liam as he pulled up to the front of the estate. “I had a nice time tonight Liam.”, she whispered turning to see his eyes. In that moment, Saige felt a heat wave building, anticipating if he would kiss her again. She was excited, yet nervous and she smirked. Saige turned her head , eyes darted from his eyes to his lips, signally she was open to see what happens. He unbuckled her seatbelt followed by his, his hand slid up embracing her face, sliding gently behind her head, he leaned in and gently kissed her lips, he wanted to go for it, but didn’t want her to be turned off by his forwardness. Liam felt an overwhelming feeling of wanting in that moment. Their lips slowly moving in sync , her lips parted ever so slightly better allowing him access to her mouth. “May I ?”, he whispered softly between kisses. Saige slowly nodded, and in that moment, Liam thought , what the hell… I may never have this opportunity again… his lips moved slowly against hers in a fervent desire. They met gently brushing lips, lips parted ever so sweetly when his tongue moved past her lips to meet hers in tender Union. They massaged tongues , careful not to be too aggressive. It was just right balance of sweet and sensual. Saige’s hand slid up to the nape of his neck , playing with the fine hairs as she leaned into the kiss .After several moments, they parted breathless.
Saige giggled, not believing that she had done that, but no regrets. “ I should really go inside now.”Liam nodded smiling, he opened his door heading around to open her door to walk her to the front door. “I guess this is good night Liam.”, she stared into his eyes, punch drunk from their kiss. “Good night Saige… sleep well.” He leaned down and placed a kiss on her cheek before turning back toward the car to head back to the palace. He stopped when he heard Saige call out to him, “Liam… I do love flowers, but you don’t have to fill the house with every flower in Cordonia “, she laughed knowing he would know precisely what she meant. “Duly noted”, he gestured with his hand before opening his drivers side door and disappeared down the drive followed by security.
Saige went inside where she was taken aback by the sudden emergence of Olivia wearing a silk bathrobe, “ I take it you had a good time with Liam?”, she quipped. “You left out a pretty important piece about him… being a prince?!” Olivia shrugged, “ it wasn’t my secret to tell.. I figured he would tell you in the right time.”Saige smiles, “ in reference to your question… I had a wonderful time… about a good of a date as you had tonight”, she grinned as they ascended the stairs toward their rooms. Olivia’s green eyes flashed dark, “who says my date is over?”, she smirked walking back to her room , “Good night Saige”, she waved over her shoulder not looking back to see her jaw drop in shock. Saige shook her head laughing as she made her way into her room and turning in for the night.

Father of the Year - Billy Hargrove
--------------------------------------------------------
Hey guys. This is my new angsty piece about single father Billy. It's different from other single father imagines, because It's takes place in your P.O.V. Takes places nowadays, not in the 80's. I Hope you Enjoy <3 Warnings. Language, some angst, lots of fluff later on. [ Y/N = Your Name ] Also, I do NOT own any photo's or gifs.
--------------------------------------------------------
I  had enough friends in school to realize that everyone lies, don't believe everything someone tells you. You had been in some horrible relationships and had bad friendships, so it's hard to trust. Billy Hargrove was a regular in the small bakery I owned, he rarely bought anything, he just liked to annoy me and the staff. He flirted with any female that worked here, also any female customer that entered the shop. I don't remember how it happened, but things shifted one day. Instead of being a cocky ass and flirting with everyone, he just suddenly stopped. He wouldn't come into the bakery as much and when he did, he'd buy a few things and leave. No clowning around, no flirting. Destiny, one of the employees, was especially disappointed that Billy stopped giving her most of his attention. The bakery started to slow down, not as many customers, less money. I went through a hard time with money, but the bakery was my grandmothers and I was determined to make it work. My employees quit, leaving me alone to cook and run the place. My best friends though, Jason and Ally stepped up, helping with the few orders i did get. My apartment was connected to the bakery, it was upstairs, a studio apartment. That's why I was determined to make this work, not just for my grandmother, but for me as well. i didn't want to lose everything I had, I couldn't.
Monday morning, 6 am. I crawled out of bed, sighing deeply while walking towards the coffee machine, flipping it on. Then made my way towards the bathroom, quickly taking a shower. Once I finished getting ready. I poured coffee into a thermal cup and made my way downstairs to start a few batch’s of sweets. Cookies and Brownies were the easiest, so i started with those, then moved onto cupcakes and pastries. At 8 am, Ally walked in, carrying an McDonalds bag. " Brought you breakfast boss, since you never seem to find time to eat " she smiled, placing it on the counter. I smiled back " Thanks, can you switch on the open sign ", she nodded quickly unlocking the door and flipping the sign.  " What do we have on the orders today? " she asked putting on an apron to assist me in baking, " Surprisingly, we got two loads for different birthdays " I sighed as I checked the cupcakes in the oven. " Should I start on the cakes? " she the questioned,  I shook my head no " Started on them last night, couldn't sleep so.. ". She sighed deeply " Nightmares again? ", I only nodded. Before the conversation could continue, the bell for the on the door rang. I smiled at Ally as I wiped my hands and made my way out of the kitchen, ready to greet the customer. " Hey! Long time no see " I smiled at Billy, he returned the smile. " What can I get you? " I asked, " Dozen of Strawberry cupcakes " he stated still wearing that smile. " Ally's frosting the cupcakes in the back, can you wait 5 minutes? " I asked hopeful, he nodded " Where is the rest of your staff, it's quite in here ". I sighed deeply " I forgot you haven't been in here in over a month, things got hard. Less customers, which means less money and they all quit ", his eyes went wide " What bitch's ". I chuckled slightly " I understand why they left. They need to support themselves, thankfully my two best friends stepped up and joined the team " , he sighed deeply. Just before he was going to say something else, Jason walked in. " Hello Babe's! I have arrived and I am ready to bake " He shouted as he normally does, but then he saw Billy and I. " Oh.. You're cute! " he smirked at Billy causing me to roll my eyes and Billy to chuckle, " Jason, Ally is in the back, go help her! " I groaned. He sent me a wink while walking into the back, " Sorry about him, he's a little extra " I sighed. Billy Smiled " It's fine... Can I ask you something? ", I nodded. " Are you seeing someone? " he asked, I furrowed my brows " No. ". " Okay... Can I take you out? "  he then asked, " Like on a date! " I questioned extra loudly. Ally walked into the front  with two trays of cupcakes, she placed them on the counters and smirked at me, before returning to the kitchen. " Yes, like a date " he laughed, " Sure... " I sighed nervously as I packed the cakes into a box. " Cool, I'm going to leave my number with you... You send me a text if you wanna go out, because right now, you don't sound so sure " he smirked, I sighed once again " No I am sure, I just haven't been asked out in a few years so I'm a little taken back ". Once I packed the cupcakes, I wrote my own number on a napkin, " There, now you can call me " I smiled handing him the box and napkin. He smiled handing me a $20 bill, " I look forward to getting to know you better " he stated awkwardly as he left. Leaving me to sigh deeply. As I stood there trying to wrap my head around what just happened, i heard my phone ding in my back pocket. I pulled it out of my pocket, seeing a text - Are you free on Wednesday, this is Billy, by the way -.  I smiled slightly sending him a quick text telling him Wednesday was fine, I usually closed the bakery around 4 pm on Wednesday. He sent me another text after, - Okay, I'll pick you up around 4:30 pm. See you then -. I smiled to myself sending back a quick. - Okay, see you -. I never thought that this was going to happen today, I never thought he was interested in me. " I can't believe you just got asked out, how long has it been? " Ally asked loudly while she walked out of the kitchen, " And he's cute! " Jason exclaimed  from the kitchen. I sighed deeply as I rolled my eyes, great I was gonna be forced to listen to this all day.
[ Wednesday ]
I sighed deeply as I looked in the mirror, tonight was date night. I had been talking to Billy on and off the last few days, I informed him to pick me up at the bakery, since I lived in the apartment above it. This was the first date I'd be going on in years, so I was nervous. I walked downstairs, shutting off the lights and locking the doors. I stood outside, it was going to be a nice cool night. A blue camaro pulled up next to me moments later, " Hey, pretty lady " Billy stated with a smile. I sighed deeply, opening the passenger door and climbing into his car. " Hey " I smiled back, he gave me a quick hug, before putting the car in drive and taking off. He explained where he was taking me on the way there, it was a little restaurant he had stumbled upon, he thought I might like it and he was correct.  It wasn't the biggest restaurant, it was hidden away in a woodsy area, the building reminded me of a castle almost, it was beautiful. I've lived in this town since I was 13 and I didn't know this was ever here, it's funny the hidden treasures you can find if you go looking. The inside was even more spectacular, looked like a ballroom. We sat at a booth, flipped through the menu and I couldn't  stop looking around at everything. Billy chuckled softly, causing me to look at him. " Sorry " I smiled, " It's okay, I know it's magical " he smirked. I nodded  "So, why did you decide to ask me out. I'm just curious ", " Wow, you're getting straight into it " he sighed. I nodded while smiling, " Well, the first time I entered your bakery, I thought you were beautiful! You probably don't remember, but you didn't even own it at the time. Your grandmother was the prime owner and you were just helping her out. I continued to go into the bakery to see you " he stated honestly. I raised my eyebrows " Okay, then  why did you always come in and flirt with all the old staff... You know, destiny ", he chuckled softly " I was trying to make you jealous, trying to get your attention ". I sighed deeply " You should've just asked me out, I always had the hots for you ", he smirked " Oh really? ". " Yeah " I smirked right back, " Why did you stop coming in? You used to be a regular with your group of friends, but then you just disappeared ". He sighed deeply while running his hand through his hair " I had somethings I had to take care of, I had a bit of a hard time, but I'm working through it with help ", I nodded " I understand and I'm happy you finally got the courage to ask me out ". He smiled as Our food was delivered, this might be the start of a beautiful relationship.
[ Now ]
That was almost a year ago, Billy and I have been together ever since, but things were weird. Yes, we were happy, or at least I was. He never spoke about his home life, he never took me to his house, even though he lived on his own, we only ever stayed at my place. I never met his parents and sometimes he'd disappear for a day or two. Not calling me, only texting. I hated to be that suspicious girlfriend, but this was odd. The bakery was doing better, we have been able to get new customers, including the couple who owned the beautiful restaurant Billy took me to on our first date.  They ordered hundred of cupcakes and cookies each week, which helped out my business a lot. The business was doing better, now it was time to figure out what Billy's deal was.
I let out an angry sigh as I dialed Billy's number, it was our 1 year anniversary and we were supposed to meet for dinner at a restaurant, 7 pm sharp. It was now 7:45 pm and Billy had not shown up, he wasn't answering his phone either. The waiter approached the table once more, to ask if I was ready to order yet. And because I felt like an idiot, I ordered a simple Caesar salad, even though I wasn't hungry anymore. I checked my phone, still nothing from Billy, just a text from Ally saying she wanted to adopt another cat. When the salad arrived, I picked at it, pushed it around with my fork. I was embarrassed sitting here alone, looking at the happy couples that were giving me pity looks. I dialed Billy's number once more, this time I received own answer. " What babe, I'm kinda busy? " he asked in an annoyed tone, but before I could respond, I heard another voice on his end. " Billy, get off the phone! I need your help " a higher pitched female voice whined, I sighed feeling even more idiotic now. Before Billy could say anything else, I hung up. asking the waiter for the bill, paying and then leaving. I sent Ally and Jason a text, telling them to meet me at the bar down the street from my bakery. I needed some friend time and alcohol.
" I can't believe this, I always knew Billy was no good! He looks like a damn fuckboy " Jason shouted taking another shot, I chuckled slightly while taking a large drink from the screwdriver sitting in front of me. " It's probably just a misunderstanding Y/N... Don't do anything drastic " Ally stated, she was the sober one, she didn't feel the need to get drunk. " Is ignoring drastic, because that's what I'm planning to do! " I stated with a sigh, " Look, he's already called 7 times ". " Delete his number girl! " Jason yelled, he was taking this harder than I was." Y/N, do't. Right now you're thinking the worst, give it a few days and then talk to him. If he keeps blowing you off, dump his ass. But, don't jump on something that you might be getting wrong " Ally stated sternly, I knew she was right. I nodded letting out a sigh, I would do as she said, but tonight I was getting drunk.
The next morning, i was jolted awake by the buzzer buzzing loudly on the apartment switchboard. I groaned deeply walking over to the intercom, clicking the button. " Hello? " I asked with a sigh, looking around to see if Jason or Ally had stayed over, but there was no sign of them. " Y/N, let me up " Billy stated with a huff, " No.. It's to early for this, come back in a few hours " I stated. " I can't come back later, so let me in now " he sighed. " No, don't tell me what to do. You can't come back later, then fine! Don't come back at all " I exclaimed. " I'm not fighting with you like this Y/N " he then stated, but I chose to ignore him. Flipping on the coffee machine and then making my way into the bathroom, taking a long shower. I had to open the bakery, because I had it closed yesterday for our anniversary and look how that ended up. It was going to opened later, but as long as it was opened I didn't care. So, after showering and getting ready, I made my way downstairs. " Hey Peach! " Ally exclaimed from the kitchen, I furrowed my brows before walking in. " When did you two get here? " I questioned both her and Jason, " We never left! Figured to get a start on some pastries, let you sleep in a little " Ally smiled widely.  " How are you doing Jason? You drank so much last night " I chuckled flipping the open sign, " You know I can handle my liquor Y/N " he chuckled. I sighed deeply as I nodded, putting on my apron. Within the first hour of being open, we had a few customers, enough to keep me busy. Around 4pm, I was behind the counter, helping customers, when a familiar blonde walked up to the counter. " Hi, how can I help you? " I questioned, " Y/n... " Billy stated unamused.  "What can I get you sir? " I asked again, " Are you really going to be like this? I know I forgot about our anniversary, but I was busy. Can we talk this out? " he asked with a deep sigh. " Are you going to continue keeping secrets from me, or are you going to tell me the truth? Because if not, I'm not interested in talking " I stated honestly, he furrowed his brows " I don't know what you're talking about ". I sighed deeply " Next! " I then yelled seeing that there were other customers waiting behind Billy. " Y/N Really! " he groaned as he rolled his eyes, " Fine! ". He then rushed out of the bakery and to his car, I rolled my eyes letting out a deep sigh ( How dramatic ). " What was that about? " Ally asked, I shrugged " I'm not ready to talk to him yet and clearly he can't accept that. I'm not going to rush to speak to him, especially when he's being an ass ". Hours later, when the crowd had lessened, it was almost 7 pm and I was planning to close up shop by 9pm. Jason had left for the day, but Ally was still in the kitchen, making cookies ( Mostly to take home for her son ). She had the music on high, singing along to Death of a Bachelor, by Panic! at the Disco. I chuckled as I flipped through a magazine, sitting on a stool behind the counter. It had been a long day and I couldn't stop thinking about Billy, but he was good at ignoring, so I had a feeling he was going to be the one ignoring me now, instead of the other way around. He could hold a grudge and was very stubborn, but I did love him. Just as I was thinking about it, my phone dinged with a text. - I'm sorry : Billy - It read, which made me wonder, but I didn't respond. I didn’t know what to say.
A few days later, I still hadn't spoken to Billy. Well I had, but not in person or by a phone call. He sent me a few more texts, which I read and responded to, but anytime I tried to call him, he never picked up. I was really getting tired of this, what kind of a relationship was this. Ally, Trey ( Ally's 5 year old ), Jason and I were walking around, let's just say Target. Grabbing a few supplies for the bakery and other bits for our lives. Trey kept chanting ' Toys ' from in the buggy, which made me smile.  I was pushing the buggy while Ally and Jason tossed things in. Once we finished getting everything we needed, we made our way to the toys. Jason was walking ahead of us, turned into an isle, then quickly came back out, looking panicked. " I think it's time to leave " Jason stated seriously, Ally and I looked at each other, confused. " No Jay, Time for toys! " Trey stated just a serious, I chuckled lightly continuing to push the cart. This is until we entered the same isle and was shocked at what I saw, Billy was standing there, with a woman... A young child was balanced on his hip, a picture perfect family. My thoughts went wild at that moment, but everything made sense now. Ally and I both gasped, grabbing the attention of Billy, who looked just as shocked. I let out a deep sigh as I shook my head and Jason pulled me out of the isle, Ally followed closely behind. We made  our way into a different toy isle, just to help with Trey's complaining. I was speechless, I didn't know what to say. No on knew what to say actually, that was the last thing we expected to see. " Did you know he had a kid ? " Jason asked, making me shake my head no.  " How do we even know that is his kid, Y/N don't assume anything " Ally stated. " Stop defending him Al, first you tell her not to assume he's cheating, which he obviously is! Now you're telling her not to assume that that isn't his kid, news flash Ally, she looked exactly like him! " Jason spat, making me sigh deeply as I looked at Trey. He was puzzled, but in deep with the toy he was playing with. " Aunt Y/N, can you buy this for me? " Trey asked, I smiled as wide as I could muster. " Trey! " Ally sighed, " Yes, but only if we can leave " I stated. Trey nodded quickly, as we set off towards the check out. Once the three of us purchased everything, we were walking towards our vehicles, we drove separately, but parked next to each other. " Y/N! " I heard Billy shout, causing me to pack the car quicker. " Y/N Wait! " he yelled, I rolled my eyes. When he finally reached me, he tried to touch my hand, but I shook my head. This relationship was crumbling. " Let me explain " he sighed trying to catch his breath, " I don't need you to explain, it's pretty clear... All the sneaking and secrets, it's because your Married! What the fuck is that, you're an asshole... You have a daughter, that's not okay! " I exclaimed finally snapping. " What!? Married, Y/N No. Yes I have a child, but Y/N I'm not " he started, but I cut him off. " I don't really care anymore, I'm tired of this... Whether you're married or not, you've still been lying to me and I don't think I want to deal with it anymore... Sorry " I stated letting out another deep sigh, before getting in my car and heading home.
When I got home, I put everything for the bakery away and then walked up the stairs and into my room. I let out a deep sigh, collapsing on the sofa. I was trying to wrap my head around everything, I didn't care if Billy had a child, I just wish he would've told me about it. And who was the woman, Wife? Girlfriend? Family member? I let out a deep sigh, I needed a nap. Sometime while thinking about everything, I did in fact fall asleep. And was woken up a few hours later by the buzzer, meaning someone was here and wanted to be let up. In a half sleep state, I pushed the button, unlocking the door for the person. I knew who it was and I was tired of fighting. My door opened minutes later and Billy entered, looking irritated. I was warming up a take away, but didn't look at him again. " Now our going to listen to me Y/N, you keep jumping to conclusions and I'm Tired of it! " he stated roughly, I rolled my eyes but didn't respond. " I am not cheating on you, that woman you saw me with was my cousin. My daughter's ,other left as soon as she gave birth, never wanted to be a mom. We weren't even in a relationship, just a one night stand gone wrong. My cousin has been helping me out. I swear I love you " he stated seriously, " Why do I have a hard time believing you, I understand having a baby... I don't judge, what I don't like is that you kept it a secret for over a year " I sighed as I sat down on the couch. " I was afraid, I didn't want to scare you away with the fact that I have a daughter, but I also didn't want to bring a woman into Addison's life, if I wasn't serious about the relationship. Addison is so young and only knows me as a parent, I didn't want her to get attached and then everything fall apart " he stated honestly, " And I understand that too, I just wish you would've said halfway through our relationship ' Hey, by the way. I have a daughter '. I would've been shocked, but I would've gotten over it. I'm very understanding and I wouldn't have tried to push it " I stated. He nodded while taking a seat next to me, " I just can't believe you've kept it a secret for an entire year. How did you do it? " I sighed deeply, " It wasn't easy, I'm sorry for everything Y/N... I'm sorry I lied, Sorry I ignored you, just sorry for everything " he muttered. I sighed once more, but didn't know how to respond. " Where do we go from here? " he then asked, " I don't know, I need some time to process things. I don't have a problem with you having a daughter, I have a problem with the lying. Just... I need space for a few days " I stated. " So, you're not breaking up with me? " he questioned, " No, not yet " I sighed while sending me a small smile. He nodded returning the smile before standing up, " Well, I should get going " he then stated. I nodded standing up as well, then I pulled him into a hug. We stood there for what felt like hour, " I'll text you or call you " I sighed pulling away from him. He smiled " I promise I'll answer if you call, now that you know everything ", I nodded as he opened the door. He quickly placed a kiss on my cheek, " See you later " he smirked before leaving. I sighed deeply, Damn I was in deep for this boy.
A few days had gone by, Billy and I were still in contact with each other, through texts, I hadn't had enough courage to call him just yet. It was a Friday afternoon, I was working behind the counter, serving customers. Ally and Jason were in the back, working on some new recipes. I let out a sigh, closing the cash register, before facing the next customer.I was surprised when I saw the familiar blonde, but he wasn't alone this time. The little girl had her face pushed up against the glass, looking at all the treats. " Hey... " I smiled, he smiled back. " What can I get you? " I asked with a kind smile, " We need about 30 strawberry cupcakes and a dozen princess cookies " He sighed. I nodded putting in the order, " Today's her birthday, Addie how old are you today? " Billy stated picking the little girl. She smiled shyly at me while holding up 3 fingers, " That's right, you're 3 " he smiled. I smiled widely at the pair " Well, Happy Birthday Addie. Would you like a cookie? ", she quickly nodded before looking at Billy for permission. He chuckled " It's alright kid ", she smiled as he put her back on her feet. " Which one would you like? " I asked, she pointed straight towards the purple unicorn. I smiled once more, " Great choice " I stated while grabbing it and leaning over the counter, handing it to her. " Addie, what do you say? " Billy stated starring down at his daughter, " Thank you " she stated shyly. I smiled while nodding, as Jason brought out the cupcakes in two boxes. " How much do I owe you? " Billy  questioned as I bagged everything, " It's on me " I stated with a smile. " Y/N.... " Billy stated seriously, " Billy, just take them, enjoy that little girls birthday " I smiled. He sighed deeply while nodding, " Do you want to come, to her party? she loves your cakes... " he asked nervously as he grabbed the bag. " Sure, when is it? " I asked still smiling, " It's at 5... " he sighed deeply. I nodded " I'll be there, just text me the address ", he smiled widely while nodding. " Okay, we'll see you later " he then stated grabbing Addie's hand and walking her towards the door, she turned back towards me before waving goodbye. I waved back, smiling widely. I didn't know this back then, but my life was about to change.
A few hours later, I had finished getting dressed, before walking downstairs. Ally and Jason were going to be keeping the bakery open for me, thankfully. " Hey thanks again guys... " I smiled, they both sent me smiles back. " It's not a problem. go have fun " Ally stated with a smirk, " Yeah, we promise not to burn the place down " Jason chuckled. I rolled my eyes " Just lock the doors at 9pm, let me know when you get home safe. I might be back before 9 though, depending on how things go ", they both nodded. " Go! " Ally exclaimed pushing me towards the door, " Good luck ". I sighed deeply while sending them a quick wave, before exiting the bakery and making my way towards my car. The address Billy sent me was about 20 minutes away, I knew exactly what house it was. Not only because of the purple birthday balloons on the mailbox, but Billy's camaro sitting in the driveway. I sat i the car for a few moments, trying to calm my nerves. I let out a deep sigh as I got out of the car, walking slowly towards the door, but noticed there was a note on the front door, instructing guests to go into the back yard. So, that's where I went. There wasn't many people there, a few adults, but mostly kids. As soon as I stepped into the backyard, eyes were on me and it was awkward for me. Billy was talking with an older male, while sipping on a beer. He noticed that I was slowly making my way towards him, carrying a bag of more pastries for the party. So, he said something to the male, before walking over to me. Pulling me into a tight hug, " This is weird " I whispered. Causing him to chuckle, " Oh, I brought more treats " I smiled as we pulled away. He sighed deeply " You didn't you have to do that Y/N ", I smirked while handing him the bag " It's not problem ". He smiled while nodding " I'm going to go put these in the kitchen, I'll be right back ", I nodded while letting out a deep sigh. He ran in quick and then came back out with the same woman he was in Target with, " Hi! I'm Lisa Hargrove, Billy's cousin. I've heard a lot about you, I know this is weird, but you'll get used to it, our family's odd " she stated with a smile. I nodded  "Nice to meet you! ", " I also know about what happened in Target, you saw him and I together, thought he was cheating on you, Ew gross he's my cousin. But, I understand how it must've looked " she stated. I nodded " Also, Bill might've had a rough past, but he's grown up a lot since Addie's come along, he's so protective over the girl. You must mean a lot to him, because he's never brought a girl here. He's never fought so hard to get someone back, he loves you a lot " she smiled widely. Making me look over at Billy, who was now talking to Addie. " Well, I'll let you mingle. My lady's calling me. I'll see you later " Lisa stated while walking over to a group of people, placing a kiss on a beautiful woman's cheek. I sighed deeply, glancing back towards Billy, who was now walking over to Addie. Oh boy, here we go. " Addie, this is Daddy's friend Y//N, from the bakery. She's going to be around for a long time, at least I hope and I know you'll love her as much as I do " he stated in a bashful tone, I smiled sending him a wink, telling him everything was going to work out, Addie wrapped her little arms around my legs, I was ready for this.
[ 5 Years Later ]
Things had been pretty great, Billy and I's relationship was amazing. Addie had become very talkative and outgoing since I've come into her life, she was so much like her father. Three years into our relationship, we moved into a larger house together, I rented out the apartment over the bakery to Jason, since he just got out of a long time relationship and had no where else to go. A year after that, we ended up getting married. Addie was excited to be the flower girl and to have a mom, even if I was just a stepmom. The bakery was still flourishing, Addie loved going in with me when Billy had to work his own job, she loved baking even at the age of 8 years old. Our lives were nice, peaceful, sometimes stressful, but I wouldn't change it.
" Daddy... " I heard Addie sigh from Billy's side of the bed, " Yeah bug? " he muttered still half asleep. " I gotta talk to you, but I don't want to wake Y/N up " she sighed, Billy chuckled " Don't worry Bug, she can sleep through an earthquake ". I was clearly awake, but didn't want to disrupt Father, daughter time. " Do you think I could call Y/N Mom? " Emma from school asked why I didn't call her mom, she made fun of me for it " Addie sighed, " Well Emma's a right ol' Bitch " he muttered. Addie gasped quickly " Daddy, no bad words! ", he sighed deeply " Sorry Bug, I don't think Y/N would mind if you called her mom. She's been here for five years, she's not going anywhere ". She sighed slightly, " Right Y/N " Billy stated knowing that I was already awake. I turned towards over to face them, " I'd be honored to be your mom Add "  I stated with a smile. Receiving a large grin in return ( This girl looked so much like her father ), " Yay! Can I sleep with you guys? " she then asked making Billy and I chuckle. " Yes, tonight. Tomorrow you're sleeping  in your own bed, deal " Billy stated seriously, " Deal " Addie smiled climbing in between Billy and I. "  Love you guys " Billy sighed, " Love you too Dad, Love you mommy " Addie whispered still on the hesitant side, " Love you too my little add " I smiled kissing her forehead. " Shh, go to sleep " Billy groaned quickly, causing Addie and I to laugh quietly. I loved being in this little family.
Months later. "So, Mommy ate the baby? " Addie asked Billy with a confused looked on her face, also looking at the small bump on my belly. " No bug, Mommy's just housing the baby for a few months " he chuckled, " How did they get in there " she then questioned. " You'll find out when your 40, just be excited to have a little brother or sister " Billy sighed, making  me chuckle. " How long till they come out? " Addie asked, " At least 6 more months bug, Mommy's belly is going to get bigger and bigger, then pop comes the baby " Billy smiled.  She groaned deeply " That's such a long time! ", " It'll go by quick and then you'll get to be a big sister " I smiled at her, which she returned. " Wow, a big sister, I can't wait! But, I'm not taking a bath today! " she exclaimed running upstairs and into her room, " 8 year olds " Billy stated with a deep sigh, " Just wait till she's a teenager... It's your turn to do bath time " I stated with a slight smirk because Addie hated bath time. " No babe.. You know how she gets... " he groaned deeply, I shrugged " I did it last night, so it's your turn. Sorry ". He groaned deeply once more, " Fine. But as soon as she's in bed, it's our special time " he stated with a smirk. I rolled my eyes, but chuckled.
[ 3 more years later ]
I sighed deeply sitting on a lawn chair, my large Belly in the way of everything. " Addie, Lucas. Finish your lunches! " I shouted at the now 11 year old Addie and 2 1/2 year old Lucas. They were playing on the newly assembled Playground, of course they weren't  listening to me though. " Whatever, Starve " I muttered rubbing my belly, " you'll listen to me right little bean, won't be like your mean ol' brother and sister " I sighed. Billy walked through the backyard, carrying two glasses of lemonade. He handed me one before sitting next to me,  " How are my babe's? " he asked placing a hand on my stomach.  " He's fine, your other children won't listen to me though " I sighed, " Addison, Lucas, Lunch. Eat it! " Billy demanded, Addie groaned but did as she was told. Lucas on the other hand must've been taken back by Billy's loud voice and ran to me crying. " Dadda " Lucas whimpered as Billy picked him up, " I 'm sorry bud, you just gotta finish your lunch and listen to momma, Okay " Billy sighed. Lucas nodded, like Addie, he was a bright two year old. Addie carried both her and Luke’s lunch towards us, placing the plates on the table. " Sorry mom, we were having a good time " Addie sighed as she picked  at her sandwich, I smiled at her " It's fine ". She smiled at us, helping Luke with his food. She loved being a big sister and couldn't wait for the little bean to arrive. I was still so in love with Billy and I couldn't image what my life would've become without my little family, that was growing larger now, I think about it everyday. I loved this life and I'm glad Billy finally made the move to ask  me out all those years ago, things  couldn't get better than this. - End ---------------------------------------------------------------------

Ship: kinda platonic Prinxiety (you’ll see)
Romans pov
——————————————————
"Why can't I get this right?!" I scold myself looking over the new sander Sides script.
It's not funny, and seems like Logan wrote it, so it basically sounds like it came out of a textbook, that's covered in a thick layer of dust that sounds so out dated it might as well be dead
I sigh as I throw my red pen across the room. I don't know what's wrong with me, I'm just not really feeling it, it seems like my creative spark is just gone, all motivation to do anything just whistled away, but it has to be perfect, for them.
I stand up from the chair I was sitting in as I walk out to the Mind Palace.
Everyone is working fine, Logan is still smart, Patton is still happy and Virgil is still angsty. knowing that they are all fine I walk straight back into my mess of a room, papers upon papers scattered around as red ink marked everywhere. Rough drafts crumbled up, at least 7 different scripts are lying around unstapled. Pencil shavings everywhere along with eraser markings and broken pens. I sigh as I sit on my bed that doesn't feel as comfortable as it used to. But Pull up my journal and began to Write to clear my mind
April, 12, 2018
Mind escape
I could duck out and Thomas would still run properly.
I may be a major trait in Thomas, but in reality I'm not actually needed like the other three are.
Because with our Logan, well Thomas wouldn't have any common sense, and would basically be dead, without Patton he would be emotionless, not heartless but literally monotone, he would be human, and as we've seen with out Virgil, well Thomas is too care free and doesn't actually listen to anyone.
But me, he doesn't actually need me, Sure I write the scripts, but Logan could do that, and Patton could make them funny, and even use some of Virgil's Dark humor, and the fans would enjoy.
I may help with his Romance, but Patton controls who he loves and why, and if you put a piece of everyone else in there then BAM a perfect date.
The thing is I may contribute to all things that Thomas is or does but I'm not actually needed.
Heck! Even Deceit is needed, to keep his friends closest secrets, and not spoiling videos, or birthday party's and Christmas gifts.
But me, I have nothing to do with his daily life, I make the goal up, then Logan, Patton and Virgil make him do it.
I give him a dream, and everyone else's does what they can to do it.
I'm not enough, I'm utterly worthless.
And that's when I hear a knocking at my door and I flip the book upside down to save the page.
"Come in."
The door slowly creeps open as Patton walks in. "Hey kiddo, what's up?" He asks concerned.
"Awe Nothing, What makes you ask?"
"I just got a vibe, hey how about a movie night? With all of us?"
"Uhh sure. Why not." I say giving him a smile.
"Okay, and don't forget it's your night to cook dinner!"
"K, thanks dad." I say standing up, and on my way out I pick up the script and throw it away. I'll just rewrite it. Again...
I make my way to the kitchen to see Virgil sitting on the breakfast bar on his phone drinking water.
"Hey my imchemicaly Balanced Romance." I say giving him a soft smile as he gives me a peace sign in return.
I start to pull out the ingredients as I realize that I don't have my phone
"Hey virge?"
"Hmmm."
"Can you run into my room to grab my phone on the bed."
"Uhh sure but under one condition." He says with a smirk growing upon his face."
"And what would that be, hot topic,"
"I get to choose every other song." He says as I shrug my shoulders as he begins to my room.
"Oh and ignore the mess, I'm sorting some things out right now." I call out
Virgils pov
I walk in to see Romans desk cluttered in papers most of it marked in red, I begin snooping around to find a huge script that has scribbles galore, on every page, every sentence. And big messy handwriting scribbled acrossed the front page.
"Not a good day huh." I mutter putting It back into the trash can. I walk over to his bed to find his journal facing up, and I read all of the things he's written today.
I stare at the last two words "utterly worthless."
"Awe ro..." I mutter under my breath as I start off to the kitchen.
"You can pick the first song" he smiles but I can see the stress behind his eyes.
"Okay." I say but having no idea what to choose.
"Sarah smiles." I say each syllable as I type it And I begin to to sing
"You fools me once with your eyes now honey, you fooled me twice with your eyes and I say, Sarah smiles like Sarah doesn't care." I sing as I walk over to a cooking Roman. He literally looks dead in side and that's my job. So I take a deep breath and prepare myself for what I'm gonna do
"dance with me?" I ask with a goofy smile and hands shaking in fear, but I don't let him see that
"It's not that kind of song." He claims as he adds some pesto to the chicken.
"Not that kinda dance. Just relax, listen to the music, listen to the beat focus on my breathing focus on my feet." I state getting rid of my thoughts it's going to be fine he don't judge, for fucks sakes it's Roman we're talking about. "It helps me when days are stressful." Even after that he shrugs it off.
"Fine I'll dance by my self with my slightly less emo song." I laugh as I begin to dance around stupidly in the kitchen, knowing that Logan and Patton are out for a bit.
I feel myself getting excited because my favorite part is about to play.
"And it's killing me inside, consuming all my time." Roman begins to sing and dance a little bit, as I realize that's how Roman must be thinking right now because of it killing him because we don't show how much we appreciate him, and he thinks he's got to take up all his time to make everything
"You left me blind, and when I think I'm right! You cast it all aside, but I say" he sings finnally letting lose, once again he doesn't see that he's enough
"Sarah smiles like Sarah doesn't care she lives in her world so unaware, does she know that my destiny lies with her" I sing as our eyes meet, he has no idea how much we care for him, how much I do
"Sarah" he sings ridiculously
"Oh Sarah." I say pretending to swoon over her when it's really for the royalty in front of me.
"Are you saving me?" He says as confusion washes over his face, but he replaces it with a smile
That's the plan, I think to myself
"What?" He asks looking up. Shit I said that aloud! I think as my brain start screaming at how stupid I am. That's almost as bad as telling the waiter to enjoy their food to!
"Oh i-it a... nothing, it's your turn to pick." I say.
He walks over to the phone as Michael in the bathroom starts to play, he know I love this song, I think rolling my eyes.
I can already see he's in a better mood, he's singing, the songs are slowly becoming happier, the smell of chicken pesto pasta fills the air making it that much better.
"Yelp, better call them down for dinner."
"Uhh didn't they tell you?" I ask tilting my head like a confused puppy
"Tell me what?"
"They said Thomas needed them for a video today." I state as his face goes pale. As he sets the pan on the counter and takes out two plates for the both of us.
"You okay?" I ask
"Uhh yeah, I'm just not done with the script that's all." He states and I see all the stress that went away fall back onto his shoulders.
"Get me the script." I state.
"No it's not ready and th-" he starts.
"Roman, trust me I bet it's amazing." I smile as he rolls his yes and Brings me the script that is covered in red pen.
I begin to read through it completely this time, and it is absolutely fantastic, and soon enough I can't help but to smile and even laugh in multiple places, yet the moral of the video is very clear, and everyone gets their chance to put in their ideas.
“I think this might be the best one yet!" I say handing it back to him.
"But nothings right! I didn't capture the characters nor the main point at all!!" He retorts.
"Well I love it, and I'm not even remotely close to thinking if the audience will like it or not because I'm positive they will. And I'm anxiety." I say as he gives me an understanding smile
"Thanks." He says setting it down on the counter that I'm sitting on.
"And I know I don't say it a lot" I start taking a deep breath in. "But I really love all the things you do, I mean sometimes it's a little absurd but I still find it entertaing, and it would really suck if you weren't here to help us." I say.
"Well you guys would be fine without me."He sighs obviously upset with himself
"Would we?" I ask. " I mean, you are what makes it possible for Thomas to express emotion, because Patton bottles everything up, and you help him put into a helpful activity, like music and poetry. And this place would be soooo boring with out you debating with everyone, and just to think of Logan taking over, we need you to make sure Thomas doesn't stress to much on learning. You make it possible for him to make videos, because Logan would be putting him through college or something. And then you somehow manage to make me way less anxious than anyone else here. And I really wanted to say thanks" I say
“I didn't think I helped that much." He mutters as I open up my arms for a hug still sitting on the counter, and for once I'm taller than him. He hides his face in the crook of my neck as my arms wrap around him tightly, and I don't care that my jacket is wet, all I care about is Roman right now.
After a good long hug he pulls away wiping the tears from his face and laughing a small bit.
"Thank you Virgil, you have no idea how that made me feel."
"Hey when ever you feel like that march yourself over to my room and I'll help you again." I smile
"You know that's easier said that done right." He states eyes still puffy
"Trust me I know, do you want to watch some Disney or something?" I ask.
“I kinda just want to sleep." He states voice hoarse. "I've done enough for today.
“That's fine too." I say looking at the clock that reads 7:30
“Your a good friend Virgil." He says giving me another hug before leaving without eating.
Friend... I think to myself as my head and heart starts to feel heavy.
God this hurts, I'm nothing more than a friend, a friend that will tell him how perfect he is, just how much I need him. How amazing he is in my eyes. A friend that's different than him in every way possible.
If course were polar opposites, it's not like he need to like me, but it still hurts, and I know I would never be enough, but he doesn't need to know that.

When love seems too far
Characters: Frederick Wilson ; Stanley Murphy
Soulmarks appear once you hit 18, something many are waiting for for many years. Stanley was also like that, a little more traditional on the idea, he wanted to find who his soulmate was. At the end of the day, his hopes die pretty quickly when he saw his mark.
[Okay, I know how bad Frederick might looks in his actions in the apartment scene, and how it might gives the impression consent isn’t something he would follow when it doesn’t goes his way, by I swear he’s a good boy who would never break that.]
-----------------------------------------------------------
Stanley was waking up from this after-party, happy that he wasn't feeling too sick, though he could have been feeling better too. Frederick had dragged him around for a tour of bars, as a celebration for his 18 birthday. The young man was also excited to see what his best friend soulmark would look like, but throughout the night they never check if it finally had gotten out. After all, they had discovered Frederick one a couple months ago and they were now waiting to see his.
Stanley got a little excited as he remembered he now had his own mark. He got up, going for the mirror in the room to help him look for it, knowing it could be in hard to notice as they could be small or even just placed somewhere hard to see. So he took off his shirt first, finding it quick easily and quickly, as it was placed on his torso.
At first, he had been struck in place when he saw it, surprised and a little shocked too. Just a little to the right of his heart, a small blue marine flower was marking his pale skin. His finger went and touched it as if to make sure it was really there, a weird mixture of happiness and sadness coming to him after the discovery.
He had always heard that it could be really hard to find their soulmate sometime, but Stanley already knew who was his soulmate. It was none other than his own best friend. The idea was sounding a little depressing to him. It wouldn't have been if it hadn't been Frederick. He wasn't a bad guy, that wasn't the problem, but he was a total playboy and didn't really care about soulmates.
He tried to do his morning routine, thinking about the whole situation. Should he show it to Frederick? After all, in his mind, he knew there were no chances for him to give up his frivolous life to settle down for something he had never believed in. He really had no idea what to do with this new discovery and time wasn't something he had to think about it, since he had to prepare to go and join his best friend for diner in only a couple hours.
Time had flown by quickly and in the end, he still didn't know what to do. Now, he was sitting in a small family restaurant they both enjoyed, still not knowing if he should tell him or not. Stanley had finished giving out his order to the waiter when he turned back to Frederick, the young man look expectantly at him. It was written all over his face what he was waiting for.
“How was it this morning? Not too sick I hope” asked Frederick with a chuckle, clearly restraining from jumping on the subject directly.
“Could have been better” admitted Stanley with a sigh, “But not the worst either, I've had worst in the past years”.
“At least I didn't drove you sick then” laughed the young man, still relieve that his best friend hadn't been sick because of all their drinking. He would have felt a little guilty otherwise, Stanley wasn't as experience with alcohol as he was. "Now, let get to what I want to know~" he smirked.
His first response was Stanley playing dumb as if he didn't know what he was talking about. Frederick then insisted a little, mentioning he knew very well what he was talking about. The young man couldn't contain the small sigh that came to him, of course he knew what his best friend wanted to talk about. Anyway, he couldn't really show it right here and there, so he could still just hide it for now. Of course, he knew he wouldn't be able to hide it forever, but for now, it was his plan.
"Sadly I got an ugly one" he lied, "Yours is way prettier than mine" he said. It was stupid to say, yet he was half admitting his was also pretty, even if Frederick didn't know.
"Well, I can't agree with you if I haven't seen it, can I?" pointed out the young man with an arched brow. Really, what was it with his friend suddenly?
"I can't show you right now" simply responded Stanley. Frederick understood after some time, "Oh, it's in a risky place to show in public" he suggested, gaining a nod from his friend, "Well too bad, we can do that later, I'll surely end up seeing it".
There was an awkward pause from Stanley side, not really affirming it would happen. Frederick didn't really notice it, only going forward with the conversation. "Anyway, are you going to look for your soulmate now?" he asks out of curiosity.
"I don't know" admitted his friend "Now that I've thought about it, it could be really hard to find them, maybe they aren't even in this country, or I already missed them" he tried to explain.
Frederick was stunned by his answer. Was he really speaking with his best friend right now or did some alien took his place? “Hey, where has gone my Stan who is more traditional and absolutely wanted to find his soulmate to leave a classic happy ending?”.
"He thought about it and understood it's not always possible" he responds with a small smile, some sadness seeping in it.
The playboy was really surprised by the sudden pessimism of his friend, he was normally so optimistic on nearly everything, especially this kind of stuff. What kind of existential thinking did he go through once he left him the night before for him to change his mind so drastically?
He didn't really have the time to ask more about it as their food finally arrived and Stanley took this opportunity to change the subject completely. In his mind, Frederick would give up at some point, while on the other side, said young man was thinking that he would get back to it later.
After that, a couple of weeks went by and because of work schedule, they didn't meet that often. In that time, it was a battle between Stanley always finding a way to change subject or reason not to show him and Frederick trying to find out and being confused in face of this obstinate demeanour.
Why would his best friend not show him? Had he ever said something that would make him restrain from showing Frederick? The first thing the day after his own birthday it what they checked together, so why not this time? Was it really that ugly? Was he embarrassed about his mark as one would be of an ugly tattoo?
He got his keys and look for his best friend apartment one, having messaged him about coming to visit, since they were finally both on a day off. He really wanted to know and his patience was starting to run out, especially when he felt his best friend was hiding something big from him.
He was greeted by a small ball of fur who kept on rubbing against his leg until he patted it, going for its owner who greeted him from the leaving room. "Are you staying for diner?" asked Stanley as he was putting down a book he was reading, finally turning towards his friend. "Are you okay? Did something happen, why do you look so serious".
Frederick gave him a small smile, even if it didn't have the same warmth and charm it normally had. "Oh nothing, just that my best friend seems to be hiding something from me and that is starting to worry my and play on my patience" he responded as he was approaching the canape.
"Fred, I already told you, there nothing nice to-" tried to lie the young man before being suddenly cut by his friend. "I don't fucking care!" he exclaimed while stopping in front of Stanley, "In the past weeks I felt like you've been hiding something important from me and I fucking hate that. I feel like my best friend is suddenly pushing me away and I don't fucking gets why!".
Stanley stayed silent, a little shocked. Frederick sure didn't mind cursing and was often doing it, but he always refrains from cursing at him. His friend was waiting for an answer from him, yet he couldn't give one, only avoiding eye contact with him.
Then, Frederick mumbles something Stanley didn't quite catch at first and when he finally understood it was a little too late to correctly react in time. His friend went for it, trying to pin him on the canape, both fighting for either keeping his shirt down or up. At some point Frederick managed to pin both of his hands above his head, surprising Stanley with the force he was using, also straddling his hips so he wouldn't kick him.
Like this, Frederick had one hand free to do what he waited to do, finally lifting up the shirt. It was the only information he had managed to squeeze out from Stanley, that the mark was on his torso. He had a winning smile when he finally saw the first sign of the soulmark only to stop in shock once he saw it fully.
There was a small silence before Stanley asked yet again to be let go, this time feeling the hand freeing his wrists. He immediately went to hide the mark again, even if it was too late and obviously Frederick had seen all of it.
“Why?” suddenly asked his friend, sounding somewhere between confused and hurt. “Why did you try to hide that from me?”.
"Why!" repeated Stanley as if the answer was something overly obvious. "Did you saw how you always run around, having sex with anyone who's whiling to and being unable to keep a relationship for more than a handful of weeks" he explained while pointing out what kind of attitude Frederick had. "And you have the nerve to ask why I, who wished for a soulmate I could grow old with, didn't want to tell you who don't give a damn about soulmates stuff?"
Frederick didn't respond to that, didn't even felt insulted by the way he was putting it. He wasn't seeing it as a critic, he knew Stanley had always been fine with his way of living but he could totally understand where this sentiment was coming from. He wasn't really soulmate material with the way he was acting. He knew that up until now, he had never shown any sign of being able to keep a relationship honestly and without going and see somewhere else pretty quickly.
He had always known that this was something dear to Stanley, he had often teased his friend about it. To Frederick, it all sounded boring and vain to try and find his soulmate, he never understood why people wanted to do that. But, even with his teasing, he had always respected Stanley choice to do so and was even ready to support him fully in his research, help him if needed.
After the initial shock, he finally put back his full attention on Stanley when he believes he heard a quiet sob, seeing that his friend was hiding his face with his forearms. He tried to reach out for him, but only received a sharp "Don't" when the young man felt him move forwards. They were then stuck in an awkward silence, yet again, one trying to mutes his sobs while the other was at a lost on what to do now. For a start he got off the couch, going to sit awkwardly on the floor next to it instead.
“You know...” started Frederick before pausing little, “I know this is something really important to you” he pointed out, although it was something they both knew. “What I'm trying to say is... We can always try it? I mean, the problem is how I flirt and have sex with anyone right? You see... I can try and stop doing that” he tried to suggest while looking down at his hands. “Okay, it might be a little hard to stop my habits and it might take some times but I believe I could manage to do it if I really try to do it” he said, proving he had never actually put any effort in his past relationship. “What do you think about that?”.
He was sounding more sincere than ever, pretty serious about that suggestion. Stanley had always been someone he cared about and he wanted to try and make him happy. He knew it was possible for people to happily live without their soulmate, but he knew it wouldn't be what Stanley wanted and would never make him fully happy.
But now, he was also doubting he could be such a much better situation. Maybe it was exactly for this reason his friend never wanted to tell him. He wasn't believing Frederick could do such a thing and would rather give up on something he had dreamed about. He really wanted to try, but Stanley doubts were making him doubt himself a little too.
He finally stops staring at his hand when he heard his friend mumbling something. "You would?" asked Stanley again, sounding a little hopeful, "Even if you never invested yourself in the past, you would do it now?". Stanley had shifted his position a little, now looking at Frederick, his eyes still wet with tears, yet looking less hurt and more hopeful too.
"Of course" smile softly the playboy, "You are dear to me and I know this is something really important for you, you shouldn't give up so easily because a dumbass like me is your soulmate, I can do it if it means I can see you happy instead of sad and full of regret".
Stanley managed to laugh at that, looking happy that he was really ready to try something like this. He then went for a hug, even if they were not positioned well for one, he needed it now as reassurance he wasn't somehow dreaming about all this. Frederick obligate, moving back to the canape to make it easier to do.
Yeah, he could do it, there was a reason fate decided they were linked after all, they could walk the path together to find it out.
