SO many feelings about him omgg rant under cut please forgive me

okay so i don't really talk or draw him much cause honestly,,,most of the times i just think he's a bit....boring? or more accurately plain? not in a mean way either but just in a 'fades into the background' type of way like don't get me wrong!! he's a really nice friend to his peers, his feelings about his powers and aura making his relationships harder to navigate and trust along with his whole conflict with nightmare and morality about what's good and bad IS very cool!! and i love it whenever they write him to be complex and not on this black and white mentality or when he's just straight up following along his friends with no free will or with a dubious purpose without ever addressing his issues or feelings! it's just unsatisfying to me :')

or when they're making him the 'naive' and oblivious, (sometimes childish?) character being marked as the obstacle and villain along with the other star sanses from the fic's pov, always talking about doing good things while fighting his brother and not hearing him out about the balance, (and for weak reasons most of the time. like it's been so long and you STILL haven't sat down with him when he's, generally, basically begged you to just have a talk? guys please :'( ) or when they go for the victim sad dream always missing the old nightmare, where corrupted nightmare is the incarnation of evil, with no sympathy or emotion except anger and sadistic glee, killing and hurting everyone and dream's just trying to protect the multiverse and dream's always been in the right. such extremes!!!

LIKE!! i hope i'm not the only one that thinks a 500+ year old should have had enough time to idk. learn things? about people and manipulation and deceit? after knowing what the villagers did to night? about the bad things in the world and how there's a lot of grey areas in life and that he maybe reflected on his past enough to process and ask himself if there should to be a convo to settle his differences with nightmare (and you can make nightmare the stubborn one too! or have them BOTH be petty and imperfect and have some things wrong and some right at the same time like why do i always see the good guy vs bad guy cliché with these two when they're the perfect example of why positivity doesn't have meaning without the negativity!! as long as there's a satisfying evolution or growth that doesn't leave me empty i'm good yknow?)

plus i believe dream really isn't as dumb as people view him. i do get some of you saying he probably can't read or write since that's actually a pretty interesting idea to explore! but in general please let him have emotions other than pure sunshiny happiness or endless sadness like he's gotta have more depth than that! let him make mistakes, have flaws that don't just make him the bad guy that's always in the wrong by default, and be angry or suspicious or jealous or bitter or battling his mental health problems/depression or malicious or smart or witty or mischievous and silly or sarcastic or ANYTHING dude i just want him to be put into different scenarios where he can be serious or lighthearted like it doesn't even have to be long or perfect but make him feel real.

it could definitely be that i don't read or see much art about dream or really look for it hard enough but also i just. i feel bad for even saying this fr and i wanna be honest about why i don't enjoy most stories about him cause he always gets the worst treatment along with ink!!! especially ink omg the poor guy has it the worst i think like wow do they mess him up :'(

always one dimensional in non shippy fics, or too plain or easily replaceable by other, more entertaining people in the significant other's life in most of his ships like man. i have read fics out there that made me genuinely FEEL and root for him and love his character so much it restored all hope for me!!! but i can only name one on top of my head and the others? it's been so long i don't even remember their names i just legit feel terrible cause i love him still and i can't find many headcanons that fit my interpretation of him yknow?

not to say people who write him very happy, mislead or sad are ruining him like that's silly- if i see something i don't like i just. move on bro i wouldn't force people to feel or think the same way i do about him cause anyone can have whatever headcanons they want!!! just talking about what i personally look for in him and why i can't exactly find it since most of the stuff out there just isn't my cup of tea :')

Summary: Your friends, like the whole school, don't like Eddie Munson. You, on the other hand, think you'd like to get to know him but that's probably never going to happen. Until you find yourself locked up with him in the school library.

The parking lot was crowded, filled with students arriving and getting ready for another day at Hawkings Highschool as you walked alongside your two friends through the sea of ​​people.

"Is this jacket new?" Debby asked as she approached you with her nose, as if to sniff it, with an almost disgusted expression painted on her face.

You suppressed the urge to roll your eyes, it wasn't the first time Debby complained about the way you dressed, among the many faults she seemed to find in you every time.

"Um, yeah." You raised your eyebrows not understanding what she was getting at.

"It's leather." She stated as if the fact were a crime. "Leather stinks."

"Debby, it's not even real leather, it can't stink. I bought it for ten dollars at the flea market."

"Hey, hey" Jess interrupted you "no one stinks in here, okay? Look, Y/N... Debbs and I were planning on going out tomorrow night. Maybe to the movies or something?"

"Ugh, what you have to do again?" Jess rolled her eyes, smoothing her perfect cheerleading skirt with her hands.

Jess was one of the most popular girls in school, perhaps second only to Chrissy Cunningham and a few other cheerleaders who became known through their jocks boyfriends.

"You know I work almost every day after school. Does the new record store sound familiar?"

"Oh c'mon, why do you have to work so much?" Jess snorted.

"Because I need money?" It was something between an answer and a question, you had never thought anyone would ask you why you decided making your own money was a good idea.

"Hey, it's okay. We'll do it another time okay?" Debby concluded, as you finally entered the school and Jess saw her boyfriend in the distance, talking to other jocks, all in their sparkly green and white school uniforms.

"Hey Beck!" She raised a hand to get the boy's attention and waved at him at the same time, trotting towards him and instantly forgetting you.

"God, she's so in love with him." Debby commented dreamily still by your side, looking at her friend from afar.

You saw the possessive way Beck kissed his girlfriend and then put his arm around her and held her close as he continued to talk to his friends, his hand was basically on her ass. "Mh, i guess she is. I really don't like that guy, anyway."

"How couldn't you? The whole school is as in love with Beck as they are with Jason." She waved at the blond boy who was now laughing at something a member of the basketball team had just said.

"Yeah, I don't like Jason either." You shrugged.

"That's impossible. He's one of the hottest guys I've ever seen."

"Debs, I'm not talking about his physical appearance. I don't like him as a person. I don't like how he behaves and how he treats people around him."

Debby looked at you for a moment with a slight smile on her lips as if she expected me to suddenly tell her you were joking.

"See you later in class, okay?"

You shook your head, thinking it was almost pointless to voice your opinion to people like her.

"Sure, see you later."

Biology class was silent as the teacher explained the reproduction of cells through mitosis.

From your desk almost at the back of the room, you could see that Jess and Beck had no idea what the the tracher was talking about and kept exchanging notes probably filled with hearts and written in pink marker, you could see that the quiet boy at the first desk was just pretending to listen and that his gaze often fell on the window, probably fantasizing about what he saw outside, and finally, to your surprise, you could see that Eddie Munson, for the first time, had a pen in his hand he seemed to be writing.

Eddie Munson was a guy you never quite understood, both before you had a few classes together and after.

He didn't seem to be very interested in school, his grades or the way he responded to the teachers but it was already the second time he was repeating his last year of high school, proving that deep down, maybe, he didn't want to dropout.

He seemed to like to make all Hawkings think he was the mean and scary cultist people already thought he was yet he spent his free time playing a fantasy board game with freshmen, making them feel accepted in a school in which if you were considered even remotely different you could consider yourself doomed.

Eddie Munson was unusual and one of those people you wanted to get to know and understand what he was really like just because seen from an outside point of view, he seemed like an enigma.

"Well well well, what do we have here, Mr Munson?"

Mr. Walker's voice pulled you out of your thoughts and your head, like that of all your classmates, snapped towards Eddie.

That was the moment you realized that the whole time, Eddie wasn't taking notes but he was drawing something that you couldn't quite see from where you were.

"Oh-oh, someone's in trouble." You heard someone chuckle.

The teacher took the paper from Eddie's hands and looked at it with a wicked smile on his lips. "And what is this supposed to be?"

A slight smirk appeared on Eddie's lips. "Shouldn't you know? You studied animals and that stuff, right?"

The teacher chuckled as he crumpled up the paper and walked over to the bin next to his desk, dropping it among the day's other rubbish.

"I bet the freak will repeat the year for the third time." You hear Beck whisper and Jess laugh right after.

"I won't send you to detention again because I really want this year to be your last." The teacher continued, crossing his arms over his chest and looking at Eddie with a severe look. "But if you still don't pay attention to the lessons, you won't give us any other choice. Okay?"

"Okay." Eddie replied after a moment of silence, the way he said it vaguely recalled the professor's tone and you were sure he did it to make fun of him, the smirk on his lips was still there.

After one last glare Mr.Walker sat down again behind his desk and continued reading from the book.

The last laughs faded and the last gazes on Eddie returned to the notebooks, except yours.

You saw how his cocky expression gave way in less than a second when he thought no one was paying attention to him anymore, you saw how he closed his eyes for a moment, huffing as if the existence of the possibility of repeating the year for the third time suddently hit him, while passing a hand over his face with a tired expression.

The look in his eyes was far from the one they had when he teased jocks or made speeches on top of the cafeteria tables.

He had just dropped his facade and no one had even noticed.

You can't deny that for the rest of the lesson you kept eyeing him, only to find him propped up on his elbows on his desk, playing with the rings on his fingers.

When the bell rang Eddie was the first to get up, he grabbed his jacket and darted out of the classroom without once looking back.

You, on the other hand, were the last to leave, after placing your books back in your bag, but as soon as you stepped out the door an idea crossed your mind.

Maybe it was stupid, maybe it was even useless. You didn't even know why you were doing it.

You went back to class for a brief moment, grabbed Eddie's drawing from the bin, folded it quickly without even having time to look at it, stuffed it in your pocket and headed off to the next class.

You told yourself you'd probably never even get the chance to give it back to him.

"You'll be at the match later, right?" Jess asked as she walked down the hallway next to you after the last bell of the day had rung.

"Mh, maybe." You murmured, thinking of a possible excuse to come up with.

"What do you mean with 'maybe'? What do you have to do this time? Debby said she'll be there."

"Actually, not much, I just gotta go the library to get some books."

"Okay, it won't take a lot. The game starts in half an hour so you have plenty of time." She smiled.

"Yeah, sure. Then I guess I'll be there." You said as you stopped in front of the school library.

"Kay, see you later!" She waved at you before heading towards the gym.

"Good morning Miss Cooper." You greeted the lady behind the desk as soon as you entered the library.

"Hi dear, I close in about fifteen minutes. You know, with the match and everything I don't think many students will come here."

You looked around, the only people who seemed to be there were two girls sitting in the corner and a teacher putting down some books he had borrowed.

"Then I'll try to make it quick." You said before disappearing among the shelves.

The school library was bigger than any student who had never set foot inside could have imagined. You often had found the right books to complete a history or literature honework, and many more times you found books that you enjoyed reading in your spare time, while waiting for customers at the record store where you worked or during boring classes.

Yeah, Eddie Munson wasn't the only one who didn't always pay attention to what the teachers were saying.

While you were there, between the fantasy and horror sections (which were right at the back of the library, almost in the dark, as if whoever had put those books there had wanted to hide them) your thoughts returned to Eddie and you remembered that his drawing was still in your jeans back pocket and you hadn't seen it yet.

You put your bag down on the floor and took the paper out of your back pocket.

It was an animal, that was why he had made that joke to the biology teacher.

The creature looked like a lion but it had a second head that looked like a goat and its tail was a snake. You knew what a chimera was and that drawing looked like it came straight out of a mythology book.

You didn't know Eddie could draw so well and you were sorry Mr. Walker hadn't thought before crumpling it up and throwing him in the bin like it was trash.

Boom.

A sudden noise made you jump.

Boom. Again.

You quickly put the drawing in your bag and walked towards the source of the noise but what you saw was one of the last things you ever expected.

You peeped over a shelf to observe the scene.

Eddie Munson slammed his fists on the closed library door before trying to pull the handle down and failing to open.

"Hello? Is anyone out there? Is this a prank or what?" He asked to whoever was on the other side of the door.

He slammed his hands on the door one last time. "Awesome, really, really awesome." He snorted talking to himself and probably thinking he was alone, then he turned around.

His gaze fell on you. "Jesus Christ." He put a hand to his chest like you scared the shit out of him and you couldn't help but chuckle. "What are you doing here?" he asked, his tone was kinder.

"What people usually do in libraries. I was looking for books."

"Oh, I think you'll have enough time to read a lot of books, we're stuck here."

You walked to the door as Eddie took off his jacket and left it on Miss. Cooper's desk, revealing his Metallica shirt. Then he sat on it, after moving a pen holder, dangling his legs.

You tried to open the door three times and when you realized there was no hope to go out you gave up and sat down in one of the chairs, facing Eddie.

"Oh my god." You whispered.

"It's okay, don't panic. Someone will notice you're missing and they'll come looking for you." You noticed the way he said "you" as if there was no way anyone would notice he was missing.

"I'm not panicking. I just found an excuse not to go to the game!" You smiled a little too enthusiastically.

"Excuse me, what?" Eddie shook his head as if he was sure he had misunderstood ehat you had said and his curls bounced on his shoulders.

"I've been trying to find an excuse not to go to that stupid match all day. Now I can say I've been stuck in the library."

Eddie made a sound that was somewhere between a snort and a laugh, amazed at your reaction. "You know, not to judge, but it's really weird that you're happy to be locked in a room with Eddie "the freak" Munson."

"Well... are you gonna sacrifice me to the devil?" You asked with a slight raise of your eyebrows and the ghost of a smile on your lips; Eddie was surprised for the second time: you were joking with him.

"Mh, no?"

"Okay, then we're good."

Eddie chuckled, ducking his head as if to hide his smile and you found yourself wishing he didn't do it anymore.

"What did you come for?" You asked then.

"For what people usually do in libraries. I was looking for books." He repeated your words with a smirk.

"Ah-ah" your laugh was far from genuine but the corners of Eddie's lips curled up anyway. "Has anyone ever told you that you're really funny?" You asked ironically.

"It may surprise you, but I think you have the honor of being the first." Eddie followed your movements with his eyes as you stood up from your chair and took a few steps between the shelves. Soon the sun would go down and you wouldn't even see the titles of books anymore without the sunbeams filtering through the windows.

"Are you coming or not?" You turned back to him, as if it was obvious you wanted him to come with you.

"Where?" He asked as he jumped off the desk reluctantly.

"To find the perfect book for you."

"Oh, I don't think that-"

"Fantasy and horror are in the back."

The smile you were starting to like returned on his lips. "Lead the way."

"Where the fuck is she?" Jess asked Debby during the first break of the game, placing her pom-poms on the bench next to her.

"I don't know, she said she would come. You were the last one to see her."

"She said she had to do something really quick and then she'd come. Tomorrow she will come up with a stupid excuse like always."

"She's been getting a lot weird lately, I don't know what's going on with her."

"Yeah, I thought so too."

Your laughter once again filled the library as the patter of the incessant rain that had been falling for almost an hour continued.

You never thought you'd spend so much time with Eddie one day, but apparently you were wrong. You enjoyed staying there with him.

"I swear it's a good one."

Eddie put all the books you convinced him to take on Miss Cooper's desk.

"It talks about a girl." He commented, as if that was all it took to not be a good book.

"Who has superpowers! Trust me, it's a good book. Near the end there's a lot of blood and stuff."

"Oh well, if 'there's a lot of blood and stuff' then I really should read it."

"Stop making fun me!" You hit his shoulder.

"Ouch!"

"I didn't hurt you."

"Yes, you did."

You rolled your eyes. "Read that damn book. Then tell me if you liked it."

"Well well well, do you wanna keep talking to me when we'll get out of here? Won't you pretend you don't know me?" He questioned, trying to figure out if you were lying.

"Why should I? Are you..." You hesitated "You're cool, I like you."

Eddie studied you for a moment. "You know, Y/N, I think you're a bit of a freak too."

You laughed, glancing at the books leaning on the desk. A weird creature caught your eye and you remembered Eddie's drawing.

"God, I almost forgot!" You took your bag in your hands, looking for the page. "I hope you don't think it's weird. I…I saved your drawing from the bin."

You handed him the paper, it was still a lot wrinkled but it was certainly in a better condition than when the teacher had thrown it in the trash.

Eddie stared at you.

He always had that way of looking at you with his big brown eyes that looked a lot like an animal that doesn't want to show that it's scared but is still reluctant to approach anyone.

He grabbed it slowly. "Why did you save it?"

"I wanted to see what you were drawing. It turned out to be worth it. It's really good."

"It turned out I was right."

You looked at him questioningly.

"You're a bit of a freak too. You put your hands in the trash to get a drawing of someone you didn't even know." He laughed again and you did the same.

You realized you liked the dimples that formed on his face when he smiled.

He took one last look at the drawing before carefully folding it and putting it in his pocket.

"Thank you." He finally said, sincere.

"Anytime."

Eddie's gaze fell on something behind you.

You turned around but didn't see anything different from moments before.

"What?"

"The window, Y/N, the window!" The excitement in his voice didn't even let you realize it was the first time he'd called you by your name.

"The window what?"

"We can get out through the window!" It seemed that at any moment he might start jumping from one side of the room to another.

You walked to the window where the rain continued to beat while Eddie looked behind you for something. "Looks quite high."

"And that's why we're going to need this." When you turned around Eddie was already setting up the ladder under the window after quickly putting on his jacket again.

"God, where did you find that?"

"I saw it earlier in the romance section."

"Were you checking the romance section?" You smirked.

"I walked past it, okay?" He rolled her eyes as he climbed the first rung of the ladder.

"Wait, should I go first?" He asked before going up.

"Go. Don't kill yourself when you jump to the other side."

"Who would care if I die?" He joked. Or you hoped he was.

"I would care! If they found me with your corpse who would they think sacrificed to the devil who?"

Eddie laughed again, shaking his head then opened the window. Lots of raindrops started falling on the library floor.

He sat on the edge before jumping over to the other side.

"Agh!"

"Shit, are you okay?" Your words left your mouth too quickly, your tone far too concerned about someone you've only known for a few hours.

No reply.

"Eddie, I swear-" You said starting up the ladder, the raindrops that passed through the open window falling on your face and in your hair.

"I'm fine!" He laughed.

"Thanks for your quick response." You commented ironically, not before breathing a sigh of relief.

"Aw, were you scared I was hurt?" You sat on the edge, now you could see his smirk as he looked up at you.

Most of his curls had gotten wet and stuck to his forehead and neck.

He was still pretty.

"Shut up."

"You were scared I was hurt!" He exclaimed, laughing, this time he was sure.

"Are you going to keep teasing me or are you going to help me get down from here?"

"Right, sorry." He reached out a hand and helped you jump. His fingers were warm, and having his palm against yours, even if only for a moment, gave you an indescribable feeling of security and safety.

"You okay?" He asked when you both finally got your feet on the ground.

"Yeah." His hand was still holding yours.

"Good."

"STAY FUCKING AWAY FROM HER!" Voices from behind you instantly made you turn around and before you know it Beck and Jason were pushing Eddie away from you. His hand slipped away from yours.

It seemed like the game was over.

"Are you okay? What happened?" Jess and Debby asked you, claiming you by the arm. "Did he hurt you?" Their tone was concerned and almost frightened.

"Hey, hey okay!" You tried to calm everyone down. "Eddie and I got locked in the library and went out the window, that's all."

You noticed that Jason's hands were still gripping Eddie's shirt, like he was ready to bail on him and beat him until he couldn't even remember his name at any moment.

The rain continued to fall incessantly on you, somewhere in the distance a thunder rumbled.

"Jason, leave him."

"Did he-"

"NO! STOP FUCKING ASKING!" You placed a hand on Jason's chest and pushed him away.

For a moment no one spoke. Like everyone was amazed that you didn't seem bothered by Eddie or that he hadn't done you anything wrong in the hours you'd spent locked in the library with him.

They were all looking at you with shocked expressions painted on their faces.

"Could you give me a lift home, please?" You turned to Eddie and this time he seemed to be the shocked one.

He pushed a strand of wet hair away from his eyes. "Yeah. Yes, of course I can."

"Okay, thank you." You kindly placed a hand on his back, as if urging him to leave. "Let's go."

You didn't say goodbye to any of the four students who watched you leave with Eddie "the freak" Munson and you didn't turn once as you walked beside him to his van.

You didn't know exactly how many friends you had just lost but you certainly knew you had a new one.

ok so i was eating a small snack, and to me its very niche to a certain demographic as i know that not a lot of people know or had it. so basically its cucumbers w lime salt and tajín, i grew up eating this weekly its so yummy ugh.

and i was thinking, what if, at base, ghost encounters someone w niche tastes in foods? or like weird mixtures of foods (like sour cream and rice, yummyyyy) or simply foods outside of his own culture???

like, what if he’s up late at the dark hours past 12 seeking out to satiate his sleep by eating. A habit picked up from Johnny after spending nights on long missions together.

What if he encounters a fellow midnight snacker one night sitting by yourself lazily shoving pieces of cut up cucumbers in your mouth, your eyes closed and head on the palm of your hand to keep you from slamming your head on the table.

He’s surprised when you extend your arm with the bowl in hand, a silent offer. Inspecting it he realizes the cucumbers are mixed with some powder and water????

“Try it…” The silence is broken by the you, making Simon’s eyes to snap in the direction of your face that is still on the palm of your hand. You shake the extended arm impatiently, grunting as the muscles of your arm begin to flex with pain.

Ghost simply observes before picking a single fruit and placing it in his mouth. Immediately, the nerves of his jaw squeeze in on themselves as the sour taste punches him before he can register just how cold the fruit is.

He gently massages the muscles of his jaw, registering the tastes of the fruit. He contemplates on the textures, the crunchy fruit and the small pieces of spices floating in his mouth, the many flavors mingling with his saliva.

His eyes dilate with satisfaction, though with his awkward state of awareness, and lack of sleep, he restrains from asking for more and instead simply stands there (🧍🏻‍♂️) awaiting for more offerings.

And so his presence, his shadow looming over you, along with the lack of shifting brings the person to pull your head up, opening your eyes to take over the state of your Lieutenant.

Understanding him without speaking, you set the fork down and push the bowl so it sits between the both of you.

A shared bowl of fruit.

And the following day Simon is met with a small bottle and a small blue sticky-note attached to it on his desk.

" This is tajin. Ta-hee-n.

Enjoy :D "

And so the weeks go by and it turns into a weekly habit, of leaving various foods, and eventually drinks, on Lieutenant Riley’s desk for him to try followed with questions on his opinions and satisfaction.

okay I’ve refrained from posting my thoughts on the ted lasso finale until now in the interest of making sure they’re expressed properly so that people understand how correct my opinions actually are. but I’m here and I’m queer and LET’S DO IT FOLKS:

TED LASSO FINALE THOUGHTS

THE GOOD:

Nate!! Nate was a timid, sweet note in this episode. It was such a gentle little reintegration of his character back into the team and seeing him get a secure happy ending after all that time of insecurity was the part of the episode that provided the MOST payoff. Seeing Nick Mohammed’s post about Nate and his family life and understanding how much he put into that character was so beautiful to see too. I adore actors who very publicly (and in a nerdy way) love their craft!

His conversation with Ted also made me cry like I have never cried before.

COLIN KISSED HIS FELLA AFTER A WIN!! Ugh such a beautiful payoff and full circle moment for him, I was truly squealing with joy <3

The team’s rendition of So Long, Farewell had me GIGGLINGGG oh my god, I’m a die hard Sound of Music fan so I loved it! I would have maybe liked a little more emotion from Ted, I felt like his reaction was kind of… meh? meek? but other than that the song itself was FANTASTIC.

Obviously I love that they won the game, duh

They also had a lot of really amazing and thoughtful callbacks in this episode, like Keeley’s parallel to her entrance in the pilot was great, Ted’s bbq sauce mantra, Nate leaping into Ted’s arms, the ussie guy, the winning play being the play from season 1. All of those little moments showed a strong attention to detail I truly loved.

I love that Rupert made HIMSELF unlikeable in the end. Rebecca didn’t need to ruin his life; she stopped caring and soon saw he was doing a perfectly fine job of doing it himself. Karma truly is Rebecca Welton’s boyfriend!! Or is it?

Jake the motherfucking client seducer over here turning out to be a total dud like yesss!! I don’t want Ted and Michele back together by any means but fuck that guy lol, glad to see she and Henry were getting sick of him

Which leads me to…

THE BAD:

I know you all know I ship Tedbecca, but this is truly not coming from a shipper standpoint when I say that that first scene of them was absolute BAIT. It was pretty disappointing because I know Ted Lasso’s been prone to red herrings and fakeouts every now and then but I didn’t take it as a show that would truly bait their fans with something like that??

I don’t care if I’m biased, I don’t care if the writers were trying to be avant-garde with their ending for rebecca, I’ll say what I’m about to say a million times: writing off 1 of your 2 most main characters into a happy ending with a man whose name the audience doesn’t even know is literally never a good writing decision. I think this should be obvious.

I have no hate to Boat Guy, Rebecca’s whole thing with him was basically the plot of Before Sunrise + Before Sunset (all hail Richard Lanklater) if someone watched those movies and then tried condensing them into fifteen accumulated minutes of television

Keeley, Roy, Jamie… they did you three so fucking dirty my babes. Keeley you especially. I’m beyond disappointed, bordering on genuinely hurt, by how much they screwed up Keeley and all of her adjacent storylines this season.

I loved RoyKeeley so much in seasons 1 and 2, they had such a sweetness and a magic to them. There were so many elements like that to season 1 and 2 that I feel the writers gave up on in the name of growth or… honestly, at this point, I don’t know why they did this. Roy was a little insecure in seasons 1 and 2, but I never felt like he was needy. It felt so cruel to have shown us RoyKeeley in all of these moments of such stability, such healthiness, and such genuine love for so long and then rip it away for some version of Roy Kent that felt hollow, twisted, and who just Did Not Get It. It makes me so sad.

It makes me sad for Jamie too. Him falling for Keeley again was like the last thing I needed to see from his character. There’s so much else they could have done with him, and instead they took that beautiful moment of him being accountable and respectful with Keeley and the tape, and they turned it into something ugly: they had him weaponize it as a bargaining chip against Roy.

I don’t understand why they thought having our favs engaged in this very sexist outdated convo with such possessive language in the name of comedy was a good idea. I get it was poking fun at them but it was the kind of fun that shouldn’t have to be poked at by now. They’re not these men, I don’t recognize this version of them. It’s such a regression.

speaking of weird and uncomfortable shit being played off for laughs… beard and jane got married! ted wasn’t even there! she shredded his passport to keep him in captivity! how creepy! (see the joke is that they’re crazy and do toxic things to each other. you’re supposed to laugh.)

Sorry for opening a can of worms, but you mentioned a certain lion indie project did damage on how people view lions and lion media. I was just curious on why you say that.

Hoo boy this is gonna be a long post. I was mostly vaguing on how it's a possibility that My Pride may have skewed people's perception on lion behavior as well as how and what people might people expect from lion media by smaller creators, especially if they are a younger audience who might take everything that happens in it as 100% accurate to lion behavior. Let's not pretend that it's creator didn't influence and inspired a lot of people.

It's a bit of a stretch, I know and I am mostly speaking through experience of what I witnessed in the comments of my own comic and what I have seen towards online media that happens to have lions in it. It has basically died down now, so what I am mentioning was when My Pride was pretty much in it's prime. Thankfully, I didn't get it the worst but I can't say the same for some others. From what I recall, My Pride advertised itself as "The Lion King but realistic", and even though I feel they messed up that "realistic" aspect part, it wouldn't bother me as much if people didn't act like lion media they discover afterwards somehow has to operate exactly the freaking same or that My Pride is the pinnacle of realistic lion behavior so if you step outside of what is portrayed as "Pride Law" in your own works, it's gets questioned or people will flat out say it's incorrect. Pride Law was even brought up when Silver and Gatura had their fight for example even though no such thing even exists in my comic, and a comment mentioned that males will fight til one of them dies which I have never seen in a one on one fight, even if it did happen most of the time the losing male will retreat. But it happened in My Pride so Silver running away is unrealistic I guess. And no, Pride Law getting some things right about lions at a surface level doesn't NOT count. Just because lions commit infantcide in real life doesn't mean My Pride portrayal of it is 100% accurate because the circumstances on WHY they are doing it isn't realistic nor does it make a lick of sense. Don't get me started when people referred to my male lion characters as "manes". Ugh...

Anyway.... Given that Tau ( and by a lesser extent, Silver) get questioned on how they even have prides because they aren't aggressive who killed to get where they are, I can't help but wonder if this is just the standard now because every single male in My Pride ( if they weren't killed off) was a dick. And since "PRUYDE LAHW" states that a male lion's role in a pride is to lead and protect the pride, you couldn't POSSIBLY have a pride in your own works where the roles are reversed and the lionesses are the main protectors. Or that a lioness can simply have a male in a pride for no other reason other than she loves him and isn't just laying around having his cubs because of some "rules".

Speaking of lionesses, you'd be surprised at how many people now think that lionesses will in no way defend their cubs when another male shows up or hell, join in the fight themselves. I feel like people would not have criticized Tau's pride so much if HE was the aggressor and Ekene just sat being submissive because that is what is expected because something popular that claimed to be realistic portrayed it as such. As well as thinking that lionesses are completely weak pathetic creatures made out of wet toilet paper that even if they completely outnumber a single male, he could somehow beat them all without getting a scratch on his body. Nevermind that in real life, lionesses have been known to even turn on their males and kill them.

And some other things that probably escape my mind right now because this post is getting long, and I am just bitching at this point because I been holding back these opinions for quite a while now. Like I said, I know this is a huge stretch and most of it probably stems from my own bitterness. So I will be fair in this aspect, Even though I feel like the creator should not have advertised this as "realistic" since My Pride is HEAVY on the fantasy elements and tries to tackle issues like Homophobia- I know it's not 100% the shows fault and that people themselves should learn to separate different medias unless a creator flat out states that said media they are doing takes place in the My Pride universe or was inspired by it. My comic is definitely not inspired by My Pride, especially since I first started this comic long before it came out and while some thing have changed about my story over the years, the same major story beats were already planned and there was no "Pride Law" around to even influence that, not that it would have regardless.

Well, on twitter I compared Porcelain Graves with the WR exclusive skin Dragon Lantern Graves (not the special edition) I'll transcribe it here.

Let's start with splasharts. Wild Rift's Splash arts are generally criticized, many times I don't agree, some of them are of even higher quality than those of League, which is the case of Dragon Lantern Graves. Even though it's not Graves' best splash, or the best skinline splash, it's pretty and pleasant, my only criticism is that it's a little too static, there's not much movement

the Graves porcelain splash has some problems, at first glance it is.. pretty, but whenever you look at it, there seems to be something wrong, it really is a strange splash, and it's not the fault of the artist who made it.

About the VFX, let's be honest, they tend to do something very mediocre with Graves when it comes to visual effects, apart from his legendary skin (which it would be stupid of them to do something too simple) Graves' recent epic skins haven't received as much love.

Even though the Dragon Lantern skin has basically the same sounds as the base skin (i guess) the quality of the VFX is absurdly good (better than his legendary if you allow me to say). The Porcelain one.. is... mediocre.. ofc they couldn't put something cool like Lux and Lissandra's skins, right?

I can't post more than one video in a post, so here are the links so you can see the difference between the VFX of Dragon Lantern Graves and Porcelain Graves.

Ok, let's get to the part that irritated me the most. The narrative..

Yes, we agree that Graves is not a big "important" character in Runeterra, he is not there to be a protagonist. That doesn't mean he can't cause real chaos, and set Bilgewater on fire just in an attempt to get revenge on his current partner. Why did I bring this up? because it is absurd to portray Graves as a pathetic and irrelevant character.

With that in mind, read Porcelain Graves' bio:

It's like they're saying "ugh, should this guy really be here? Who called him?". Whoever wrote the narrative of porcelain skinline seems to hate him, for real..

To the anon who is struggling with their faith and identity, hi. I get you. I’m in the same boat in a lot of ways. (Discussion of anti-science rhetoric, lgbt-phobia, and conservative Christian stuff for anyone who doesn’t wanna read that)

I was raised Christian, and taught that evolution and the Big Bang were false. I was taught that dinosaurs were real and the earth was billions of years old, but we were still creationists.

I was also taught that being gay or trans was sinful and that gay marriage shouldn’t be legalized. My family was never outright hostile (my uncle is gay and we always loved him, even though “we just don’t agree with his decision” ugh), but clearly bigoted.

I was also raised in baptist churches, who absolutely love to quote the same three verses over and over in order to tell women (like myself) that our whole purpose is to shut up and bear children and take care of the house, that we are to obey our fathers and husbands in everything and cannot teach men at all. Fortunately my parents at least hated that BS, and after every sermon regarding that point my mom would lecture us that that was the only thing she disagreed with with our church, and that me and my sisters could be whatever we wanted to be. She continually pointed out the instances that contradicted what our churches had said about women’s roles.

When I went to college, I made friends, met people with wildly different backgrounds, and began to form my own opinions. I am a supporter of lgbt rights (I believe that there is strong evidence that wording was changed to condemn homosexuality, and that even if it’s a sin, we are called to love each other first and foremost, and that we cannot force our religious beliefs upon anyone else, and that respecting someone’s sexuality and pronouns is just basic fucking courtesy. I’ve even convinced my trump-supporting grandparents to use peoples preferred pronouns and respect gay marriages, with the logic that “you believe it’s sinful, but they don’t, and you can’t force your religious perspective on them. There is nothing loving about making them uncomfortable just because you disagree.”

I also strongly believe in scientific theories like evolution and the Big Bang. There’s plenty of evidence, and if you read genesis with fresh eyes it’s pretty clear to me it’s highly symbolic, not literal. I can believe God created the universe and that he did so through the Big Bang. I can believe God created humans in his image through the process of evolution.

As I was expanding and changing my worldview, I also realized that I was aroace. I’ve never been interested in dating, I don’t find men good looking at all, and my appreciation for women’s beauty is more similar to how someone would appreciate a painting, not someone they want to date or marry or have sex with.

And I don’t believe it’s a problem for me to stay single either. When I told my mom she immediately told me that the Bible says that singleness is, for many, a gift, and only a different path, not a wrong one.

I often don’t know what God’s intention is, but I do know that Christians are called to be the light of the world. So I will always be kind and loving, because that is how you be a light. I always pray for better understanding of how I should do things, but in the end the most important thing is to be kind.

Sorry if that was rambly, I just wanted to let you know that you aren’t alone in these struggles, and that you can believe different things without being a bad person. Personally, my family doesn’t know that I’m now fairly liberal and that I believe in evolution and the Big Bang and such, but I’m okay with that. If they find out, I’ll tell them more or less what I just said here. Best of luck to you and to anyone else in a similar situation 💛

What's your favourite chenford scene?

Oh, dear lord. Do you have any idea the chaos you have caused in my head with this question, dear anon? There is no easy answer to this. And I've been thinking about it since last night..

Short answer: I don't know. Can I say all of them?

Long answer: that would be an essay. See below.

There's of course the infamous first scene when they first look at each other in the Pilot. That's just serious soulmate stuff right there from the start. How they expected us not to ship them is beyond me.

Don't even get me started on 1x20 and the way Tim shut the door to keep Lucy safe, and how she never even thought about leaving. And then of course how they sit at the door, back to back, and talk. Soulmate stuff right there, again.

So many more moments in between the two mentioned above.

Take the needle incident in 1x11 and how Tim kept Lucy from spiraling. Or the way Tim made sure she wouldn't wash out in 1x14. 1x19 and how he was so determined to get her over the finish line so she could take the 6-month exam.

And so many in seasons 2 and 3 that make their story unique.

Lucy giving Tim the audiobook she recorded in 2x02. Lucy having Tim's back in 2x08 and the way he thanks her for it at the end. All of DOD?! Then Tim wanting to make sure Lucy is okay all the time in 2x12, and then the whole scene in the gym. Lucy supporting him and being excited about him having a good score on the sergeant's exam, but then Tim not taking it because of her.

Tim taking Kojo?! Dude, your love is showing. Lucy reassuring Tim that her kidnapping was not his fault, and that his opinion matters to her in 2x17. The look on his face, omg.

So many more moments in season 3, I won't be listing them all but one of my favorites will always be most of 3x08, the last scene in 3x09, and the once over he gives her and then asks her to save him a dance in 3x14. I die a little every time.

Moving on to season 4...

We got the infamous hug in 4x01. The scene in the van in 4x07? Good lord. Then of course the hug in 4x09. Ugh. He so needed to hear those words and that hug, and it needed to come from Lucy. I will never be okay watching how he just completely falls into her and deflates.

Honestly, most of the double date episode? And the dance! Oh, my heart. I cannot and will never be able to move on from the way they looked at each other. There's so much adoration written over both of their faces... how they didn't realize they were in love with each other until much later is still beyond me.

And then of course 4x22. I know the whole doppelgänger thing is a little over the top, but I love it? Probably because it's so absurd. The infamous first kiss scene will always have a special place in my heart. It's what made me start watching the show a year ago. All it took was seeing that 3-minute clip and I was hooked. Happy (late) anniversary to me!

As for season 5...

I'm gonna say all of 5x01, because I cannot choose just one scene from that episode. If I had to, it would be between Tim taking Lucy's hand to comfort her and finding a way to give her a moment in private, and the kiss. Lucy's worrying in 5x05 and how she immediately raced to his bedside and stayed with him. And Tim worrying about her? Married vibes, for real.

The pining and the looks in the parking lot in 5x06? Still not over it. Basically all of 5x08, I don't care what others think. The two scenes in Grey's office in 5x09... swoon. And before I rattle off almost every scene since then, I will limit myself to a few.

Them getting ready in 5x10. Their second first date at the end. And the perfect first real kiss. I wanna cry every time I see it. All of 5x12, for obvious reasons, but especially that last scene. Tim giving Lucy the necklace in 5x16 - and her never taking it off since then! That perfect little domestic scene at the beginning of 5x20. All their hugs this season, especially the one in 5x22.

I could go on. It's bad. So lemme try and wrap this up by choosing one for pre-canon, and one for canon.

For pre-canon, I think DOD will always be special to me. Tim's desperation, the way Lucy just completely breaks down after she realizes she's still alive, the way he immediately tries to shield her from the pain and she just curls into him and sobs. Everything. And the dance in 4x18.

For canon, I wanna go with the ending scene of 5x08. But oh. Is that even canon? Probably not. Okay, so that's another for pre-canon, I guess.

I will never apologize for loving the crap out of that scene. I know opinions are split here, and I absolutely get that! But to me, it was perfect. From Tim calling her out, Lucy blurting out what she's afraid of, Tim's reaction to it, telling her it's worth it, the look on his face before he asks her, to Lucy saying yes and them looking at each other at the end.

I am so fucking in love with that scene, and I will defend it until my dying breath. @escapismqueen can confirm. She's heard me talk about it enough.

For canon, I'd have to say the second first date at the end of 5x10. There's just something special about the whole scene and the way we can feel how comfortable they are now as opposed to the date at the fancy restaurant.

And then maybe add the ending scene of 5x12. And- nope. Cutting myself off here. Otherwise I will actually add every scene since they became canon.

Phew. Well, this took a little more time than expected. Well, no. That's a lie. I expected this to take long, and for the post to be essay-length. I just got interrupted halfway through and it took longer to finish.

Lemme know if you want a less elaborate and more detailed explanation of just a few scenes - this feels a little all over the place. But I just have a very hard time deciding on just a couple. If that wasn't obvious already.

Glorfindel and Erestor are very different people, so I imagine their fights to mostly be small and/or petty ones where they misstep over things that may be minor to them but is a big deal for the other. Erestor is more particular and is more likely the first to raise an issue, but it is also thanks to this that their relationship settled early. They might have fought a lot in their first few years—about the cleanliness of rooms, how late is late on times agreed, how much they require from a partner—but they were important fights that ensured they got things right for one another.

Where I think Glorfindel would put his foot down would be related to people. Erestor is old, somewhat jaded, and even in his younger days he's never one to give too much attention to the careabouts of individual people. He is a practical, big picture kind of guy, and while he is never one to be malicious, he is also not naturally sympathetic. Although he never means to, there might have been times when his seeming lack of care can tick Glorfindel off, and they disagree on how much of themselves they are willing to give to other people.

Their biggest fight though I would say would've been triggered by danger. Glorfindel's work is to protect, but how he does so especially under the employ of whatever ruler Erestor counsels, Erestor (by his own occupation) has a say. There might have been a time when Erestor thought Glorfindel's approach was unnecessarily reckless and Glorfindel was injured in the process. Once Glorfindel was well enough for it, you can bet they fought about it.

It's wonderful that this question got asked together with 19, because the answers are two sides of the same coin! 💛

Glorfindel and Erestor are very different, but it's also these differences that they admire and grew to love in the other.

Glorfindel, maybe unexpectedly for many people in Rivendell, has a quirky sense of humour. Erestor amuses him immensely, opinions and sharp edges and all, and so I imagine he stuck to Erestor early. He likes that Erestor is difficult and speaks his mind, that he takes a stand despite opposing voices, which is a refreshing thing considering Glorfindel himself would naturally lean towards harmony and diplomacy.

As for Erestor, similarly, he respects Glorfindel for his capacity to care enough about Middle-earth to constantly be at the frontline of its wars. He admires Glorfindel for his ability to inspire people even in the darkest of times. But also, one of my longest running jokes about Erestor is that out of all the things one can say about Glorfindel's goodness, his courage, how he was chosen by the Valar because of his virtue, even down to how he is just a very reliable colleague, the fact of the matter is that Erestor was attracted to Glorfindel primarily for his looks. 😂 Erestor hates that he—with his supposed intellect, wisdom, even the prestige and dignity of his office—would ever be so basic, but alas, he is not immune to the charms of the renowned hero of Gondolin. Sunkissed skin, golden hair, that dashing smile—ugh, Erestor, how easy can you be? He can never live it down. 😂😂😂

i am quite literally just not a fan of this season 😭😭 it felt almost completely different from the first two seasons. i didn’t like how the group didn’t seem to get many scenes together, it was always like jj and kiara scene, cleo and pope scene, and then john b and sarah scene. the groups were so separated to me and i despised it!!! the group dynamic?? just felt all weird idk maybe that’s just me! it just felt like strangers things s4 and the way they had the california group, hawkins group, and russia group.

i am Happy I Guess for jiara shippers but i couldn’t stand whatever angst thing they had going on throughout the season. Again, that could just be me cus i ain’t a jiara stan to begin with.

i didn’t quite care for the carlos singh. for lack of a better word, i thought he was unnecessary. he was kinda just there for me idk

I think rafe’s “love interest” was out of nowhere. i didn’t really care for her and i guess she was there specifically to knock some sense into rafe for that One Thing but other than that, she seemed random.

i hated sarah cheating on john b. it wasn’t out of character i guess?? no offense sarah i love u with my whole body. i just didn’t like it.

god no lmao. hya refuses to mark his skin with anything; tattoos, scars, etc. if you’re thinking what about when he has acne and lemme tell you my guy loses his fucking mind when he has pimples even. amon already has enough marks (the scars) on his body so even if it’s art he’s not really keen to have more happen to his skin. both of them are jewelry people anyway so they’re more likely to get matching rings and stuff cuz they’re fucking married lol.

hya never says i love you verbally so LMAO. basically a lot of it boils down to reading between the lines of his actions; the things he does that he doesn’t usually do say a LOT. hya saying amon’s actual name instead of just “butler” is a huge one; letting touches linger, reading together and seeking amon out; actually LISTENING to amon’s opinions LMAO, letting amon touch his hair, or top (i know that’s a huge gasp but it happens after the end of paramour so it’s technically never seen however i’ve thought a lot about it and i cried about it once bc they make me emo), etc. basically, for hya it���s letting amon become a part of his life and that’s one of the biggest ways he can show he loves him

anyway, when it comes to amon, he’s more verbose about telling hya he loves him yeah but he also gets extremely comfortable being Himself around hya—which, for amon, a man of many masks and faces, is unusual and says a lot. he can’t help but want to be honest with hya about who he is, what he’s about, his intentions, desires, etc. so i think that’s probably the biggest way he shows his love.

they don’t really “talk” about it in the traditional sense. i mean, they never sit down and talk about their feelings in general because that would just be a massive clusterfuck and not in a good way LMAO. but they do… infer a lot? they’re bad with their emotions but they are better with being straightforward with their actions. so, realistically after the Huge Climax happens and the finale tm, they just. they already know that they aren’t going anywhere. that they’re stuck with each other. i mean, they even go tie the knot which lol i wonder how that ceremony went cuz they didn’t tell ANYONE about it lol. but they just kind of make a decision and neither one of them contradict moving in together or becoming husbands and shit so. yeah lol.

Edward Cullen’s Mad, Mad World

Part 2: The Change

Edward gets changed during the Spanish epidemic that kills his parents. This, coupled with the fact no human friend of his has ever been mentioned, means that most of the links to his human life have been severed.

During his first year as a vampire, he spends most of his time learning basic control. Interestingly, during a flashback, we learn that Edward immediately fell into the “son” role with Carlisle.

Considering Edward’s fragile relationship with his father, this isn’t the most surprising thing he could do, but it is quite strange considering Edward is 17, on the cusp of adulthood and ready to go to war, while Carlisle looks barely 23. While Edward and his father probably weren’t close, I find it slightly odd that Edward was willing to replace his father so easily.

In any case, Edward quickly adopts Carlisle as his father. It’s quite clear Edward has a profound devotion for the man, seeing him as everything that is good in the world. When Carlisle mentions vampires have covens, Edward reflects the word isn’t strong enough for what Edward and Carlisle are. I will only say this, but Edward’s opinion of Carlisle reads very much like a school boy crush. Considering the opinion about homosexuality at that time, it would not be farfetched for Edward to have interpreted his romantic love as filial love, especially since he had a distant relationship to his father.

A lot of things change in Edward's life, but some stay similar. Edward goes from rich kid to vampire, which informs his opinion about wealth. Edward keeps his family's wealth, even after being changed, after all.

It’s also important to mention that Edward is thrust into a world where he is no longer a protector of maidens, but a dangerous monster, one slip away from murdering innocents. Yet, despite his doubts, Edward tries to embody virtue, until he can’t.

A few years later, Esme was changed. It’s worth noting that Esme is born barely six years before him and is barely nine years older than him physically. Edward still adopts her as his mother figure because she’s everything a mother should be. She’s kind, feminine, nurturing and beautiful...

We don’t know if Edward started calling her his mother before or after Esme and Carlisle got together, but I’m inclined to think Edward got them together because he felt like they were his parental figures in the first place.

In any case, Edward tells Carlisle that Esme loves him, so Carlisle marries her.

Despite this nurturing nuclear family, Edward will be tempted and will soon leave the comfort of his home.

Edward also remembers being profoundly disturbed by his transformation, especially his appearance. He cares deeply that he sparkles or that his hands are pale, but not as much as what makes him truly monstrous, like his bloodlust (though he does think about it). This is a recurring theme when he’ll talk to Bella.

The most damning change in his life, though, is his gift. He is now plagued with every inane, odd, private and disgusting thought people have. This clearly changed his ability to relate to other people, since he can here all their judgment (ugh, mom is sooooo annoying), shallowness (he's so handsome, I hope he'll notice me), and intrusive thoughts (I wonder how many people would die if I crashed this plane?).

What can we conclude ?

Edward already sees the people in his life as fairly replaceable. His parents, including his mother whom he loved and was very close to, are replaced within five years. His father is replaced within the year with a man Edward just met.

We also see Edward creating for himself a cocoon of which he is almost the center. I say almost, because the only thing Carlisle cares about more than him is the diet. Is it surprising he falls off the wagon a few years later ?

His self image also drastically changes, along with his image of other people. He is no longer a young man ready to protect a fair maiden. He’s struggling against the monster, but has never killed anyone. He can also here every thoughts people have: he "learns" just how inane and superficial the world is.

OH GOD okay i think i have talked about this a little every now and then but i'll stick that specific post i drafted under a cut though because it is 2 o'clock on a tuesday

basically it's like... okay for example. last week a tiktok trended essentially talking about how people made up steve's relationship with his parents being neglectful or abusive (which is true) but the tone being used in the comment section was like inSANE and something i've seen in many different contexts from many different sources it just all highlighted it horribly for a moment there though. but this isn't about that specific tiktok iderc about it. but like people were acting like it was soooo funny so hilarious we love it haha but i eat it up tbh haha i love it when he's abused haha ... ??? like how are people seemingly en masse actually incredibly aware of and able to identify something like that and instead of taking the time to be like actually .. maybe this is weird in a lot of contexts 🤔 they instead just go haha i love it though. like i don't even know... how brains can work like this what is stopping you from attempting to access a voice to your OWN OPINION.. weird. but not the point

I think what makes me so invested is that I see myself in y/n. Gojo is her first love. When I was with my first boyfriend, I was obsessed with him. He was the first guy that had ever in my life shown serious interest in me. I was so in love, I would’ve done anything for him to stay with me forever. To make me feel worthy and wanted. But it also turned toxic because he would start walking all over me because he knew I wanted to stay together no matter what. When we would get into arguments I would back off even if I was right for the sake of maintaining the relationship. He eventually cheated with a girl he was friends with prior to us dating. So I understand how y/n feels. Losing the first boyfriend is hard. It feels like the world is ending and you’ll never find love ever again. Totally not true but it’s what it feels like right after a breakup. But unlike her I had enough pride to not grovel over him for too long and I immediately cut contact after breaking up. I worked on myself and became stronger because of it.

Also yes Rie is a manipulative pick-me bitch, and I hate her but I can’t even blame her that much. Yes she is a homewrecker. So what? There are so many homewreckers in the world. It was Gojos job as y/n’s partner to protect her. To stand up for her. Instead he turns around and stabs her in the back. He loves getting all that attention from both sides.
