[[ a story ft cat but unnamed - heavily discusses death and violence and depression. i’d say both version of protect me from what i want by placebo is a good song that fits this, mostly because i was actually listening to it as i wrote this. ]]

Always walking, always wandering, she had no set destination in mind, so she kept going.

But she always found herself dead, one way or another. By accident, animal, or human, it’s never the same cause.

Sometimes there were moments she caught a disease, and couldn’t do anything except wait until her time is up.

Then she comes back again, as if nothing has ever happened.

She still feels the pain, the suffering she had gone through, but she eventually grows numb to it.

Doesn’t stop her though.

She still walks, and wanders, and wonders if there is a place she could settle down in.

But what kind of town would accept her?

An abnormal human with her heart in a literal glass sphere that she keeps in her bag.

She doesn’t see herself to be able to fit in anywhere.

Besides, who knows if her immortality is truly reliable.

She may still have a date with Death, it’s just not anytime soon.

A rain check so to speak, because death itself is inevitable, and she was able to survive the surgery that made her this way.

A disease that was told to be curable, but something went wrong.

And now, she wanders, perhaps for forever.

A homunculus with no destination in mind. No home to go to.

Dying over and over.

Perhaps, there is a place she can call home.

It’s out there somewhere.

Surely.

In Plagiarism and You(Tube), Hbomb says "If you consider something so obscure you can get away with stealing it, you do not respect it." Save that line for the next time someone tries to tell you that Roy Lichtenstein brought respect to comics as art.

It's since been pointed out that while Lichtenstein did copy one of Russ Heath's drawings of an airplane getting hit, the painting depicted above was actually copied off Irv Norvick, because Lichtenstein did this so many times to so many comic artists.

In Lichtenstein's defense, he was doing this in a time when comic artists frequently weren't even credited in the issues themselves. In his condemnation, he never even tried to check, nor has he made any move to pay or credit any of the comic artists who recognized their own work later on. Rather than elevating the "low art" of comics, he was widening the gap of financial success and respect even further.

The Hbomberguy of this story is art historian David Barsalou, who has now spent decades tracking down the original art and the names of the original artists used in Lichtenstein's most famous output. Here's the flickr gallery for the Deconstructing Roy Lichtenstein project. Frequently copied were Tony Abruzzo, Ted Galindo, Mike Sekowsky, Joe Kubert, Jerry Grandenetti, and dozens more Golden Age artists who aren't very well known in comics circles, let alone art history books. Many of them died in poverty. That's something that the Hero Initiative, mentioned in Russ Heath's comic above, aims to prevent.

Also, Lichtenstein didn't even paint Ben-Day dots. That's a specific thing.

we need to destroy the idea that girls should wear makeup. normalize bare faces on prom queens and flower girls and cheerleaders. no products at all instead of '7 product simple makeup routine.' no more 10 step skincare and regular facials and dermablading and gua sha just to be comfortable with yr natural face. i want to see eye bags on the funny librarian and acne on the swim coach and wrinkles on all our adult role models. i want to see a 16 year old girl that has never tried putting on eyeshadow. i want to see a 7 year old girl who doesn't have to go out and buy powder for her dance recital. i want to see trans women and girls everywhere to never have to wear makeup, regardless of how well they 'pass.' no more 'contouring to look masc' either. a post-beauty industry world is possible

I'd love to see a dpxdc story where the Justice League knows about Amity Park and the Ghosts the whole time, and does think the ghosts are rogues to be addressed. Doesn't agree with the GIW, maybe doesn't even know about them? THE IMPORTANT PART.

The Red Huntress is the only active vigilante in Amity Park, according to the JL. Phantom is marked as one of her rogues. Maybe the Fentons even are marked as rogues from all the property damages and random shooting/sliming of citizens. Valarie is the only person successfully taking care of the ghosts, masking and suiting up in the classic vigilante way the whole time.
