✦ JTTW CYBERPUNK AU

✦ I've decided to make my take for an Cyberpunk AU of JTTW as well! These are the designs I thought about the gang. This is only the "basic base", in another day I will create a more detailed reference sheet. c:<

✦ You're probably asking "oh Bread/Brenda, you already have a cyberpunk AU." Yes, I do. But it is a Lego Monkie Kid AU and I'll call it Cyberattack and use it's tag. That it got the same stuff LMK got, like Macaque and Wukong being friends in the past, the Monkey gang and ETC.

And the JTTW Cyberattack AU I will simply call just Cyberpunk, which this one is heavily inspired by the original novel. So no MK here or the monkie gang.

So, some characters will act differently from each other from these AUs because the said characters i often see them with two different point of views and ways to act or designs. 🧍‍♀️

(I'm weird, I apologize for that.)

Part 2 of my favorite JTTW graphic novel scenes because I ran out of picture space

Wukong’s interactions with children is my absolute favorite thing ever, I’ve only seen/read a few adaptations but I’ve heard that he’s super gentle and playful around kids in multiple of them and it’s so sweet!

I can’t even really explain why I like these panels so much, I just enjoy the dialogue a lot :)

HIS FIRST INSTINCT IS TO PROTECT THE BABY

Wukong interacting with children >>>>>> anything, also he has clearly taken care of monkey infants on Mount Huaguo, just look at how properly he’s holding the baby my heart

Honestly I just really want to see all of the pilgrims interacting with and taking care of a kid, I think it would be so cute

He hasn’t officially ‘joined’ yet, but has been following them for a good couple of days at a distance. (Trying to be polite)

None of them really know why, but Sandy and Wukong are pretty sure he won’t attack them.

Hello🩷

In the Journey, Wukong got kicked out of the pilgrimage due to killing the lady bone demon (many times). Would Sophie leave with him or continue the journey?

This was actually a difficult situation for Sophie! She cares about everyone equally! Sure, she was shocked that Wukong just killed an old lady (who was a lady bone demon) but in the shock, she could see that Wukong was speaking the truth. She wants to believe him.

Sophie tries softly to make Tripitaka understand that the old woman is a demon who would have hurt him, but she understands Tripitaka's point o view. The monk and Sophie have seen Wukong killing humans while making a joke about forgetting how fragile humans are. He is feral. Sophie doesn't want any fights in the group although she is semi-used to see Wukong and Tripitaka arguing many times it doesn't mean she likes it. Wukong didn't even make things easier for her! After angrily (and sadly) accepting that Tripitaka is kicking him out even after he asked not to do that because the journey will fail without him, Wukong assumes that Sophie will obviously go with him. "Fine! If this is your final word then so be it! We are leaving...Sophie?" to his shock Sophie didn't move from her spot next to Tripitaka. She was mentally stuck to choose. She didn't want to choose and while trying to come up with some words in the hope of trying to fix this, Wukong then angrily left the group without saying anything. Sophie tried to yell back at him to come back but it was no use. The Monkey King was gone. She felt terrible and sad. Almost angry because she didn't get any time to progress her thoughts. She wanted to say goodbye if this truly was the last time she saw the monkey demon. Sophie wanted the best for Wukong and Tripitaka. She wants the journey to succeed so she can have answers on her own. She wanted to go back home to see her mother. She can't just leave the mission because it would have felt like she not only abandoned her world but also her mother. She is homesick and has the unknown feeling of "What if I can go back? Or maybe I can't..then what?" This moment was not easy for her! LUCKILY for comedic sake when Pigsy goes to find Wukong in Flower Fruit Mountain because they need help to save the monk and Sophie. Wukong (a bastard that he is) feels almost happier that Sophie misses him compared to the fact that Tripitaka will take him back when Pigsy tries to reason with him. Of course, deep inside Wukong wants the journey to succeed but Sophie misses him. He missed her too. "So girlie missed me, eh?" And luckily he will come back and all will go just like in the novel. Wukong will be back with the gang and the mission shall be continued!

Pigsy layed this really thick but it worked on Wukong!

How tall are Wukong, Reader and MC?

I will be honest I haven't thought about it until now! But let's crack this up! Sophie (reader) is at least 170 cm which makes her quite tall compared to common people in the JTTW world. (I know at least that ancient China people's common height was around 152cm to 168cm. I might be wrong but let's keep it that way for the sake of this AU) Wukong is around 160 cm bc like the idea that he is the shortest but clearly strongest of the group. He can make himself taller mind you! But this would be his 'natural' height. I wanted Sandy (210cm) and Pigsy (175cm) to be taller bc demon stuff you know. Tripitaka...I haven't decided if he would be the same height as Sophie or just a little bit taller than Wukong 🤔

I don't think about it much when I draw these guys as long as it's about there! But I love science so here you go!

EDIT: Oh shit I forgot MC! Okay, let's continue this! So MC is around 190cm! I just like the idea that Wukong will kick his ass in the end. He can also change his height like our monkey son too!
