idxchanyeol‌:
Chanyeol approaches, raises a hand and taps knuckles on wood. “Anyone in there?” He calls out, leaning back on his heels and shoving his hands into pockets. “Am I interrupting something? I can come back later.”
It was an ongoing joke in the Acosta household that Jia loved Chanyeol more than she cared for her cousin Doyoon. Admittedly, she and Doyoon had not really met until she moved to Korea ten years ago, but he was, in a lot of ways, like the big brother she never had. She had supported POIZN ever since he debuted with them, buying all the albums, showing up to concerts her Catholic parents would not have let her near were it not for her promise that she was there just to support her cousin. However, when the question first popped up about who her bias was in POIZN, it was not her cousin’s names that slipped her mouth, but Chanyeol’s.
Given the chance, normally quite Jia could go on for hours about Chanyeol. Did they know he wrote lyrics for the group? Did they catch his appearance on Hit the Stage? He danced and rapped just like her, how cool was that? Yes, Doyoon also rapped, but in all honesty, Chanyeol had probably also led to her honing her rapping and dance skills. It was fairly impressive how much he had influenced her life as an idol considering Doyoon refused to let her meet him for years. It wasn’t until she had debuted that she had finally managed to catch him, against Doyoon’s wishes. Tongue tied, she had stared at him for a full minute before introducing herself. Future interactions had gone better, but she still blushed every time she spoke to him. He was such a charming man, it was unavoidable. Clearly, the panns were exaggerated and Doyoon had told her as much. Of course POIZN couldn’t be that messed up.
Jia stood up quickly, blood rushing to her face as she heard Chanyeol’s voice. She thanked god her stylist had already done her make up, but hoped her high heeled boots would be off putting. Her height still made her a bit insecure, even as an adult. Apparently, boys were often offended when you were taller than them. She cleared her throat and plastered a smile on her face. “Chanyeol-sunbae? I didn’t expect to see you here. How are you?” She looked around her and picked up a bag of cookies given to her by a fan. “Would you like a snack?” she asked, extending the bag to him.

dancing in the moonlight
@idxdanny
Jia had not expected to find Daewon on set for a cameo of her newest kdrama. Admittedly, My Lovely Girl was not exactly a cinematic masterpiece, and the romantic couple was problematic as well, but she genuinely liked the project. Privately, she was pretty sure everyone would develop second lead syndrome, but the main actor was distinguished and always giving her tips, so she had quickly become comfortable around him. He was not a diva like other celebrities. Hopefully the respect she had for him would translate into enough chemistry to make up for the fact that she was playing a girl falling in love with her sister’s ex-boyfriend.
Daewon had a lot of wonderful qualities, but acting was not one of them. His face was too transparent, though Jia frequently told him he was handsome enough to be one. He had his own variety presence though, and they were in the same company, so it made sense they would bring him along for a few scenes, a cute little Easter egg for fans of B.rite. Also, for their shippers, who probably had a field day when the rumors about them started circulating and their show needed all the help they could get.
To their credit, everything had gone more smoothly since their moment during the film show. Of course, that mostly just meant they greeted each other instead of diving behind foliage. It also meant she was brave enough to ask Daewon if he wanted to take a walk along the Han River now that filming was done. He had been pouting while she filmed her scene there with her co-star and assumed it meant he wanted to walk by the water. He seemed like the kind to want to splash in it and the thought made her smile.
Jia hesitated as they began their walk, the moon full in the sky. She was wearing a mask, so there was little chance of them being recognized. Before she could think better of it, Jia intertwined her fingers with his. She cleared her throat. “So, what did you think of the set? Did you have fun filming?”

“Hey guys!” She said, pep in her voice. “Welcome back to the channel. Today we’ve got a very special video: I’m going to be making over my friend and group member: Circe!”
Nari had nearly been Jia’s roommate before they all collectively noticed the straight up homicidal urges she seemed to have towards her. Of course, Jia could have told them that long before the room arrangements were made. Through out their entire trainee period, Nari had bullied Jia into submission more than once. In fact, Jia had often practiced away from the KTM building solely to get away from her or taken refuge with the members of B.rite. She said American almost as if it was a dirty word, but Jia knew that was not the only reason why Nari seemed to hate her. Jia was tall and Latina, so of course KTM tried to make her the sexy one, even though she had no desire to be that. Nari had resented it, though had thankfully not tried to murder her. Then, her cat had gotten friendly with Nari’s cat and suddenly, Salem was a menace to society.
Overall, it was quite cumbersome that KTM decided to pair them up so often together. A part of her wondered if she had done something to earn their wrath, to cause them to want them to murder her. However, it seemed like they mostly wanted to ignore both their wishes and monetize on their supposed relationship. Of course, that now meant Jia was probably going to end up with smokey eyes and glitter, all things that made her uncomfortable because they made her stick out like a sore thumb. She was never good at having that kind of attention thrown her way and Nari likely knew that.
Jia got her game face on and prepared for the role of a lifetime. She softly smiled. “Hello everyone! I am so glad to be on Lily’s channel today. I have always wanted to be on her show. Though, I’m sure most of you have seen Salem in the background of some of the videos. He clearly likes make up a lot too.” She only knew this based on some very enraged interactions between her and Nari. Also, a few standoffs between Nari and Salem. Jia still was not sure who won those, though her money was on her cat.

the curse of la llorona
@idxdamien
Really it was Jia’s fault for having picked the movie. However, having grown up with tales of la Lllorona, it only made sense that she would go watch a horror movie centered around her and drag the only person willing to watch it with her, despite the voice in her head that told her it was going to be awful and clearly a Hollywood marketing scheme to co-opt the Latinx culture. But she did it anyways, because she enjoyed horror movies, even the awful ones. And, she needed Damien to come and agree with her that it was likely going to be awful and not make the day a total wash.
Jia was not supposed to have been associated with XLNC; they were not in the same company, or the same genre. But she liked their music and found them to be vastly underappreciated. Of course, she was not best friends with them; mostly she was dragged into trouble by Jinhwan and then taken to horror movies with Damien. Considering her current scandal with Daewon, she should have not been around boys in her off time, but many of the friendships in her life were with males. And, she really did need someone who did not look at her like she grew a second and third head when she started talking about horror films.
“Alright, cultural issues aside,” that conversation would be left for her sisters to hear in a very heated discussion tonight, whether they wanted it or not, “it was not even scary. The real legend is way more terrifying. They totally wasted an opportunity. Are there no good horror movies anymore?” It wasn’t even so awful it was good. It was just awful. “Next time, you pick.” Of course, usually when Damien picked they were just as bad and usually ended in him laughing his butt off. Clearly, nothing scared them anymore, at least, nothing Hollywood had come up with recently. “Or maybe we should just watch movies in one of our living rooms next time.” She had an extensive collection that she usually had to tuck away when filming v-lives. It was a little to odd, even for the covens.

1. [ +521, -86 ] Wow, seriously how do they just keep getting better every comeback?? ㅠㅠㅠ Isn’t this song too good?? 2. [ +385 , -38 ] As expected of Divinity~ the song, the choreo, the music video, just everything is so freaking pretty and exactly my style~ Let’s hit daebak this time ♡ 3. [ +172 , -29 ] Eh… the song’s a little boring for summer isn’t it? It looks like they just focused on the visuals as always ㅎㅎ Honestly I prefer their subgroups over the main group…

“I…. I care about you and I don’t want to make things worse.”
Jia cleared her throat, having never wanted to make him look like he did right now, embarrassed and guilt-ridden. They had known each other for a long time, long before they had any carnal knowledge of each other. They usually spoke to each other in English when it was just the two of them, though she always called him Daewon. Before then, she had called him sunbae, though she was not sure that was the correct term. He had been in the business longer, but she was older. Still, it persisted until her Americaness peaked out and his name finally spilled from her lips. She had never called him Danny or Daniel. Not once. She didn’t know why, but it did not feel right. He never seemed to mind, though she was the only one that did it. Before she quite knew what was happening, his name spilled from her lips again.
“Daewon, I care about you too,” she said. There was never a question of that, at least not to her. Daewon was a nice boy. No matter what anyone said, he was a sweet guy, which was why she never regretted what happened between them after the first time, though she had been thoroughly embarrassed.  “I don’t want to stop being around you."
The words escaped before she knew what was happening, her redness reaching her ears. She was playing with fire. Things were complicated between them. She was a rookie, she went out with his groupmate, and the two of them had plenty of rumors circulating them. However, it was impossible to think of any of that when she just wanted to see him smile again. He made everything into sunshine when he smiled.
Jia was a smart girl and her brain was screaming at her to take the out he was giving her. Maybe in time they could be friends again. Wasn’t it easier back then? However, the thought made her turn cold. Instead of moving backwards, she moved forwards, gently leading Danny away from the door and closing it shut.
Jia turned her eyes downward. Another moment that defined their relationship, that buried them deeper. They could no longer blame alcohol or vulnerability, not when she had actually tracked him down to his dressing room. Not when she was eyeing him in that suit. She looked at him in the eyes then. “Do you want to stop being around me?”

Jia was pretty sure this was what hell was like. Her, at the mercy of Nari. She was not entirely sure what she had done to incur her wrath; it was not a race thing. That she would have understood as it was usually a race thing with everyone else, but Nari seemed to dislike her for other reasons she could not fathom, even back when they were trainees. She would have thought being in the same group might have created some type of bond between them, but no. Nari seemed to hate her even more, which was something she never thought possible. Nari was glamorous and beautiful and fully Korean. She was clearly much more marketable than her and did not have the recent events with Daewon looming over her head, threatening to ruin her reputation before they even reached the one year mark. What was there to be upset about? What had Jia done to her? She was not exactly brave enough to ask.
Of course, this was, admittedly, a bit her fault.
She had done a web clip not too long ago for Dingo Beauty, modeling lipsticks for a brand that would clearly never deign to pay her for the advertisement. It had been fun, but nothing big. Unfortunately, it had also led to an influx of comments on Nari’s YouTube channel. Everyone was asking for Nari to do Jia’s makeup. It might have been avoided, had Koala.T not heavily suggested they do it. Jia had avoided Nari’s eyes during that entire meeting. She wondered how many times she would jab an eyeliner pencil in her eye while pretending it was an accident. Jia cleared her throat, starring at the array of items. She didn’t normally watch Nari’s videos; she doubted Nari watched any of her acting roles. Still, she had seen her face even without the help of professionals and she was certainly good at it. She cleared her throat, already worried about Nari’s preferred weapons of torture.
“So, what exactly is the concept for today?” she asked. Jia had let Nari plan out as much of it as possible, figuring invading her turf in this way was bad enough. Nari had yet to get physically violent, but Jia had no doubt she would be scrappy if called upon. She eyed the amount of glitter. Oh boy.

Born to a Puerto Rican/German father and a Korean mother in Los Angeles. Has three older sisters. She is the weird one.
Moved to Korea when she was twelve after her grandfather developed cancer. Big culture shock for her.
Was a child actor and continued acting when she moved to Korea. It helped drastically improve her Korean.
Speaks Spanish, English, Korean, and German.
Koala.T is intent on marketing her as an actor, but they don’t really let her show her range.
She is a big fan manga and anime, but kind of has to keep her love of horror on the dl now.
Has been around for even less than before, so she is FRESH on the scene.
A bundle of fluff. Very shy, very quiet, has a reserved idol image. Good little Catholic girl.
Will read your tarot if asked. Not that she believes in that nonsense.
Her stagename is now Circe because turning men to pigs is much more chill than murder.

“how do you like this kind of concept? it’s a bit different from the vibe that nightmare usually operates in.” in honesty, minsoo’s surprised that koala.t has remained faithful to nightmare’s ‘creepy cute’ image for so long. one look at nitro’s discography would show that their company often struggles to define their groups, especially in the early stages, and holds no reservations about switching directions to experiment with public reception.
It is hardly a secret that despite being the only girl group currently in Koala T., Nightmare is not sought after. It has never been, not  a single moment since they debuted. They are too niche for that; even internationally, and it is clear few people aside from Japan wanted them. Honestly, they probably have BABYMETAL to thank for that more than anything. But, somehow, Jia has managed to forge some connections within her company. She is “close” to XLNC, though her relationships with the group are complicated themselves (in her defense, it is a small company; she was bound to develop some complicated feelings towards some people, especially towards a batch of attractive musicians). Nitro? Not so much. Her relationships with them are mostly polite and in passing, though she met them all as a trainee in their music video and has even worked with some of them on other projects. She has always chalked it up to them being the popular boys of Koala T., clearly much more accessible than XLNC and Nightmare. Jia’s image is anything but that, especially since she leaned hard into Nightmare’s original concept. However, things are clearly changing now that she is allowed to wear pastels and Koala T. has stopped trying to give her a sultrier image. And, she is grateful. Honestly. It means she is finally good enough to join a cf with a Nitro member, something that would never had happened before Koala T. started rethinking Nightmare’s direction. Rebranding. Pulling the rug out from under her.
“I like it...” Oh damn. Would he prefer oppa or sunbae? They were working together, but he was clearly her senior. Did he care? She definitely had to chose one or the other, since the last time she forgot the formalities, it had bit her in the butt. Years in Korea and she still sometimes forgot around people her age. “Sunbae,” she said, finally settling on what to call Minsoo. “The clothes for the commercial are actually closer to what I used to wear before I debuted,” she confessed. “Though, it has been a while since I’ve done anything with this kind of concept. I haven’t done much work with comedy.” Though, she was pretty sure she could do it. She was a professional. She was just going to be nervous as heck the entire time. “Please take care of me sunbae.”
pastel.

I guess they’re doing something else now, huh? It’s good but is it very special? It seems like they want to lose what made them different…  - Yeah, well, you should have bought some albums when they were different then…  3. [ +107 , -37 ] This group just confuses me honestly but…I like the song at least! It matches to the trends really well, so I hope it does well~ Good luck girls!

I’ve been supporting Minyoung since the beginning during Pro.J. I’ve watched her grow prettily through the show as a trainee to an Aurora member. I’m still so~o happy she switched from 99 to Midas. They treat her so much better. And doesn’t she suit their image more? I can see why they put her into Aurora, it’s just the perfect fit.
Anyway, they let her have a special stage in Chile. She performed it with Divinity member Jia~ It came out so lovely, and there were so many cheers for them!
POST RESPONSE | [ + 99 ] [ - 16 ]
1. [ ㅇㅇ ] The cheering was so loud because of all of Jia’s overseas fans~ It was so cute, they both looked so excited about it all~ 2. [ 민니마우스 ] They really performed so hard. I’m glad that Minyoungie is getting more opportunities to shine. I like her in this angel image. So lovely ♡ 3. [ ㅇㅇ ] Oh look, it’s both of Danny’s girlfriends…are they battling it out to see who gets to go on a final date with him? ㅋㅋㅋㅋ I wonder if they fought right after.     – Just shut up, they’re both friends. Stop spreading rumors.

He didn’t put the ability past her, but a part of him was genuinely curious. Between her awkward demeanor and general lack of coordination(as far as he had seen), he wondered if she actually was good at it, or if it was something the members of Nightmare would even allow her to do.
Jia smiled softly for a moment, her mind suddenly not with King, but with her family.  She suddenly became more animated. She began gesturing with her hands, a habit she tried to curtail in Korea, which did not seem to enjoy it as much as Americans. However, with the alcohol going through her, she suddenly felt more relaxed. “I mean, I can, I just don’t really have a chance to anymore, especially since we debuted. There never seems to be enough in the day. I mostly do it when I miss Puerto Rican food. It’s hard to find any good food in Korea.” She was frequently homesick; not for America, though she did miss it every once in a while. She just missed being around her family, around the smells and the language. Really, it was part of what made Chile so comforting. It was close, if not quite. She continued onwards, powering through the redness in her cheeks.
“My dad has always been really into cooking. He makes some great mofongo and his alcapurrias are to die for. Though, he did teach me how to make German food too. I make a pretty mean schnitzel,” she said. She realized belatedly that King probably did not know what the food meant, especially when she switched languages so many times. “Sorry, let me explain. Mostly lots of pork and plantains for Puerto Rican food. Schnitzel is just fried meat.” Great. Now she was rambling about food like her dad. He always bragged about his cooking. Though, King might appreciate the talk. This was the closest to a full blown conversation they have ever had. “You’d probably appreciate some ceviche. Lime and lemon juice, fish, onions, tomatoes, peppers, and cucumbers. It’s pretty good. I’d be happy to make you some... I mean, make some for you and XLNC.” She took a big gulp of the drink there, not sure when she had become so forward. Clearly, the alcohol was going straight to her head, loosening her lips. “Have you enjoyed your time in Chile, King oppa?” she asked. “Gotten to see the sights and everything?”
let’s grab a drink

Danny made a small bow, his eyes cast downward to avoid making eye contact with Jia. He didn’t wait for her response before turning on his heel and running back to wardrobe. He knew he wouldn’t be able to avoid Jia forever, not even all day, but God, did he need a minute. Danny needed to get somewhere he could finally breathe.
Jia was hurt when Danny disappeared into the dressing room, leaving her to wonder what she had done wrong. She did not have much time to think about it though, as the stylist dragged her in front of the mirror once more. She tried on her next outfit, which included letting her hair out of her pigtails and somehow, even more pink. She quite liked it. It was better than the outfits Koala T. had tried to squeeze her in initially, sexy skin tight outfits that made her completely embarrassed. She knew why they did it, even though it went against the image they had settled on. They really wanted her to be sexy and she knew why, but it didn’t make it better. However,  maybe that was what Daewonwould like. Maybe he didn’t want someone cute, maybe he wanted her to be sexy. She could not quite get the whole thing out of her head. Jia sighed, deciding it would be best to just... talk to him. Right. She could have a civil conversation with him. If she could have a an actual conversation with King and manage only a few drinks during the whole encounter, then she could definitely manage a conversation with Daewon.
Before she quite knew what she was doing, Jia was heading towards his dressing room. She was tense every step, constantly looking over her shoulder. She knew it was a closed set, but it was still possible someone would see where she was heading. Everyone told her Daewon was a bad idea, even his own group mates, even Jinhwan who she knew was a bad idea. He practically invented the term. However, she knew that at the end of the day, Daewon was a nice boy, a sweet boy. However, he had tarnished his image a bit with her after the things they had done together. She was flushed as she began knocking on his dressing room door before she chickened out. “Daewon, we need to talk. Please open up.” She bit her bottom lip. “Did I do something wrong?” she whispered, not really wanting him to hear.
