Sanji x Insecure Fem! Reader!
Tumblr media
Sanji was perfect. He treated you like a queen, worshiping the land you walked on and thanking God for creating “such an ethereal soul”. He was gentle and patient and kind hearted. He believed in you and wished more for you then you could ever wish for yourself. Standing next to him, you were always left wondering “Am I enough? Do I do for him what he does for me?”. Sometimes you would sit in your room and debate his behavior towards you, overthinking was a trait you so heavily possessed. You’d look at yourself in the mirror and see how pudgy you were. Each time you saw the stretch marks on the insides of your arms and thighs, the ones on the sides of your stomach-... tears swelled up in your eyes.
The bits of acne spread throughout your face and body didn’t make it any better. You couldn’t even begin when it came to your body hair and slight hyperpigmentation. Sometimes at night one of the rare times Sanji wasn’t with you, you maladaptive day dreamed about a magic eraser. A small white piece of rubber that you would run over the parts of your body that you hated and just like that your insecurity would disappear in an instant. With that eraser you could look like Nami or Robin, unblemished and a suitable girlfriend for your perfect boyfriend. Alas, there was no eraser and you would stay this way for who knows how long. These are the thoughts that made you become distant. These are the thoughts that influenced you to skip meals.
You thought you were doing good, “fasting” or “dieting” whichever one of those you chose as an excuse to just drink water and eat a couple slices of fruit every now and then. Though this definitely didn’t go unnoticed by Sanji. When it came to you, he knew practically everything and he definitely wasn’t going to allow you to do this to yourself, you were too precious to him. So around the evening when everyone had eaten and winded down he snuck off to your room with a basket of your favorite foods. “Darling?” he knocked. “Darling, it's me”. You’d got out of the shower not too long ago and your hair was wrapped in a towel. You sat on your bed in your silk tank top and pajama shorts.
You wanted to ignore him and at first you did but when his pleas became more desperate and he made it clear that he wasn’t leaving, you couldn’t help but open the door for him. His face lit up when his eyes landed on you, like a dog when an owner came home after being at work all day. “Sanji?” you eyed the basket in his hand already knowing what it was. “Hm? Oh! I thought we could eat together since you haven’t eaten dinner yet” he looked to the basket and back to you with a smile. “I don’t-”. “Ma cherie, we’ve barely seen each other in the past three days and you haven’t been eating” he cupped your cheek, his eyebrows scrunched in concern. You said nothing. “I miss you mon amour , tell me what's going on”.
No you thought, don’t say things that I don’t deserve to hear. You tried to pull away from him but your body didn’t move and the floodgates opened and you couldn’t stop the tears that were flooding your eyes. Your hands rushed to hide the emotions from him but it was too late and he was fast acting, wiping your tears away with a sympathetic frown. You were sniffling and he was ushering you out of the hallway into your room, closing the door with his foot. Quickly he set the basket down on your desk and rushed to your side with a box of tissues. The two of you sat in silence for a bit as you tried to get yourself together.
“Darling? Please tell me what’s been bothering you” he urges you while sitting across from you on your bed. He wipes your cheeks with the back of his hand. “Seeing you like this is killing me”. You let out an exhale and can't help but think about how much more ugly you look right now. You glanced down at your exposed skin and suddenly have the impulse to cover up your legs. Sanji takes note of how you pick up a pillow and throw it over your lap. He removes the pillow and lays his head there instead, earning a startled gasp from you.
"Y/n" he gazed into your eyes from below. You gently closed his eyes with two fingers. "don't open them until I say" your voice was slightly hoarse from crying. He hummed in agreement and shut his eyes. You shakily exhaled as you prepared yourself to explain. "i've been feeling very insecure about my body lately". "And-.... I guess… i don't know it's stupid" you huffed. Why was it so hard to say? "It's not stupid, don't say that". You close your eyes as well and find that you are able to think easier.
“I keep having these thoughts that I'm not good enough for you because of how overweight and imperfect I am”. “So that's why you’ve been avoiding me and why you haven’t been eating?” he said in frustration. “I don’t want you to find me unattractive Sanji, you dating me-... sometimes it doesn’t feel real at all. I'm lucky that someone like me could even-”. “Stop” he interrupts you, removing himself from your lap. You keep your eyes closed, afraid of what the look on his face is like. “Sweetheart” you feel his hands gently hold yours. “Look at me,” he pleads. Your eyes open a splint and then fully.
He was staring at you with a frown that made you feel ashamed. “Don’t ever, ever think that you're lucky to be dating me, it's the opposite and it will always be the opposite. I'm thankful you even looked my way- every second of attention you give me makes me feel like the richest man in the world” he said. “But-”. “No, do you hear me?- And I don’t want to hear you talk about yourself like that ever again, not only are you insulting yourself but you're hurting me” his brows furrow. “W-what?” you ask.
“I have this girlfriend who’s the greatest piece of art to ever exist but she believes she’s ugly, so then she damages herself and hides herself away so that nobody can ever see her beauty again” he scowls. You can’t meet his eyes anymore. “So what will it take?” he asks and sighs. “what will what-”. “To get you to recognize how much of a rare blessing you are Mi amor…- you can’t even comprehend how much better you make my life everyday”. Your face was flushed and you could only hope that he didn’t take notice.
“So what do I need to do to get you to realize that?” his head tilted to the side as he watched you. “i d….n...ow” you mumbled. “Hm? I can’t hear you love” he lifted your chin, eyeing your lips in their natural pouting position. “I don’t know” you said clearly this time, struggling to make eye contact with him. “Should I…kiss all the insecurities away?”. Your body shuttered as Sanji leaned back on his elbow and placed a kiss on your bare shoulder, moving down your arm, making sure to give the stretch marks extra special attention.
You squirmed upon feeling the warmth of his breath on the bit of your side that had been exposed due to the rolling up of your tank top. Your stomach, that's where most of your hatred originated from, hence why you began to panic inside. But all doubt was washed away when you felt his soft lips on your skin. He was gentle as he kissed the outstretched skin,  you could tell he was enjoying it. “You're so stunning dear” he whispered. And for the first time in days your mind was clearing, he wasn’t disgusted by you, he wanted you and only you, you were his.
Sanji was making his way to the front of your stomach when all of a sudden your stomach growled. He paused and smiled at you before giggling. Your face was on fire and you covered it with both hands. He peeled your hands away and kissed your lips before crawling off the bed and getting the basket. He set up a bed tray before taking out the food which was still warm. He sat it on the table in front of you (your favorite stew, rice and some side dishes).
You were prepared to pick up a spoon but Sanji had already held one in front of your mouth. You bashfully allowed him to feed you the savory meal, he never once let you lift a finger.

For Every Sexy Style, The Best Crotchless Pants, Knickers, And Underwear
Tumblr media
Crotchless panties might be your next must-have pair of underwear, whether you want to spice up your lingerie collection or cross "have bathroom sex" off your naughty bucket list. The proprietor of the lingerie and bra-fitting shop The Rack Shack in New York, Laura Henny, claims that crotchless underwear can bring some spice to the bedroom. Incest Movies
"The most crucial factor is that wearing them makes you feel sexy. For whoever you are dressing up (or down), feeling sexy will make you feel more confidence, which is hot."
What advantages do crotchless underwear offer?
Lingerie isn't only about looking nice for your sexual partner, of course; wearing it can be a significant confidence booster for yourself as well, whatever your aims or tastes may be. Additionally, crotchless panties eliminate the need to remove your favorite underwear during all of your extramarital adventures. You might even purchase them as a wicked, amusing gift for the bride-to-be in your life or your significant other.
The greatest crotchless underwear is listed here for quick access anytime, anyplace.
1. Cosabella Open Gusset Hotpant Panty
Couple-owned company Cosabella is the expert on erotic necessities. These stretch-lace panties, which are made in Italy, are surprisingly comfortable as well. These offer a modest slit rather than an open hole, which is ideal if you want to ease into the idea of crotchless underwear.
2. AdoreMe Danielle Bikini
A minimalist's dream, this strappy tiny item. The huge, simple opening is perfect for discreet quickies in the bathroom at your friend's next dinner party (don't blame us if you get caught). It's great for easy access to butt play if you want the option.
3. Justgoo No-Show Crotchless Low-Rise Six-Pack
This is the alternative for you if you prefer a six-pack of intimate apparel to beer, not that you have to make a decision.
Feel free to be as rough or messy as you wish because these lacy thongs are so inexpensive; they go great with your whipped cream dream.
4. Pearl-encrusted Lyeacs Lace G-String
This lace and pearl thong has major dominatrix or maybe royal sexiness going for it. Keeping the pearl in your sex toy drawer rather than next to your other useful underwear is a brilliant idea. Sure, it won't feel comfortable under your slim jeans (but more power to you if you can).
5. Lace Cutout Lingerie Two-Piece Set from SweatyRocks
No one would realize this whole set, which comes in seven vivid hues, costs less than $20 considering the exquisite lace on these two pieces.
These sets are ideal for you if it's crucial that your bra and undergarments match at all times. Additionally, the inexpensive price makes it guilt-free to purchase one in each hue.
6. ETAOLINE Crotchless Lace Briefs
Reviewers on Amazon adore giving their partners or friends these panties as bachelorette party presents. These will make you feel particularly special, especially if you've ever wanted to literally tie a ribbon around your entire body.
7. Neck Lace Sexy Babydoll Sleepwear from Yinggeli Store
Yes, skin-tight outfits can be seductive, but so can ones that are free-flowing and loose-fitting. This teddy bear is a fantastic inclusive option because it is available in sizes small through 4x.
8. Oh La La Cheri Open Gusset Mesh Thong with Pearl Trim
The basic yet elegant shape of this thong is well complemented by the row of pearl beads that runs along its opening. There are four other colors available for this one as well.
9. Savage X Fenty String of Pearls Crotchless Thong
The smallest of thongs may not have a crotch. More often than not, less is more. The floral pattern is so delicate and adorable.
10. High Leg Crotchless Bikini by Savage X Fenty Gift Me More
It's never too early to start getting ready for Valentine's Day or your seductive holiday plans. With this "Gift Me" crotchless bikini, you position yourself as the primary gift.
11. Yandy Harness Garter Panty Without Cuffs
These harness garter panties are a terrific choice if straps are more your thing. They have an open back, an adjustable garter belt, and accent O-rings.
12. Savage X Fenty Mesh Crotchless High Leg Bikini
Even though crotchless underwear exudes some very seductive sensations, you may still be lighthearted and have fun. Choose these flirtatious purple pants with cheetah prints when you're ready to break free from red or muted, neutral colors.

@nataliastark and anyone else wondering…
First of all, she got a standing ovation before André could even say “a’ight.” She stood up on the balcony and waved to the audience and cried. She had tissues out during Road to Hell.
Reeve seemed emotional during his toast to Persephone. There were longer pauses.
She got a standing ovation before Our Lady. I can’t remember if it was before or after she and André kissed onstage. And yes, it was an Amber and André kiss not a Hermes/Persephone kiss just to set the record straight. Lol. Then she got another standing ovation after Our Lady. For both standing ovations she got very emotional and broke character for a moment to cry but she also looked so incredibly moved by it all. They were beautiful moments.
How Long was very emotional. I mean it usually is but there was that added layer between them knowing it was the last time. They looked at each other more intently. You could tell she was really trying to keep it together. And Patrick gave his all out there. Of course he usually does but he really gave 110% for her last performance.
Epic III…well first of all as the show went on Amber looked more and more serious. Where I was sitting, I could see her with tissue behind the piano right before Flowers. So by the time Epic III rolled around…she was just holding it together. Like before, for the La la la and everything leading up to it, their looks were more intense and their faces more serious. His look to her at “what he’s defending is already gone,” broke my heart some more. Her reaction to the flower was beautiful. It always is but…I can’t explain it but it was something different and I’ve seen her do this 5 times before. All the times Persephone is supposed to look sad or cry…it was different. Amber is a phenomenal actress but I don’t think she had to do much in the way of acting to get there that night. Their dance was all smiles from both of them but they also had tears. You could see it was wet under Patrick’s eyes. Oh and the face caresses after their dance…🥺. When they just held each other during Promises…I was in the front row and they were right in front of me. She had her eyes closed with her head on his chest and he had his closed with his head bent down. I usually watch them during this part because it’s cute but this was the first time I felt like I was intruding on a moment. I could hear him sniffling. Big time. She sniffled a bit too but I really heard him. When she comes back up on the lift at the end, everyone went crazy. The important stuff after that was immortalized via picture (thanks to the amazing Cherie B. Tay and others) and video by me and others (bows, Raise a Cup, getting flowers, Rachel’s speech) so enjoy the moments that were captured.
It was all so sad and beautiful and I’m so thankful I got to experience it. The love that was pouring out in that theatre was amazing and seeing her reaction to it was unforgettable. Words cannot fully describe what it was like to actually be in that room that night and I’m glad I got to share that experience with some lovely people. Hope that answers your questions but feel free to ask if you have more because I will never be over talking about that night.

EMBRASSE-MOI
: pairing — student! jay x tutor! reader
: genre — fluff, crack
: song recc. — L’amour by Miel De Montagne
: a/n — this lowkey sucks but I've been wanting to get work out so I'm sorry if this isn't the best :(( also I'm still learning french so if some of it is wrong pls lmk so i can fix it!!
Tumblr media
Jay was your school’s resident bad boy. blond hair, all-black outfits, cuts class and yells at kids that look his way. you know? the usual. You on the other hand were the complete opposite. straight-A student. A quiet kid who didn’t dare look the ways of Jay Park and his Clique™. So imagine the shock that was felt when the boy you avoided at all costs, walks up to you in the middle of the cafeteria asking for French lessons.
“You want me to do what?” He rolls his eyes, tired of this conversation already.
“Can you not hear? I’m failing French and I need to pass or else my parents won’t let me move to France.” He speaks as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.
“And you’re asking me why?” He rolls his eyes again for what felt like the 100th time. You’re just confused about how he even knows of your existence.
“Listen, all I know that you’re in my French class and that you pay attention, I’ll even pay you I just need to get my mark up.” You perk up to the sound of money. You don’t really need but it’s still nice to have some. Doing this will get you good Karma right?
“Fine. Meet me at the library every Monday and Wednesday after class, got it?” Jay stares at you with annoyance. He really does not want to be wasting his senior year on stupid lessons but, here we are. He reluctantly agrees and watches you walk away, struggling to hold your books in your arms. He turns around and lets out a deep sigh, wondering if the hot chicks and fancy baguettes in France are really worth this
Minutes turned into hours as you waited for Jay to show up. You waited patiently for hours just for this kid to not show up. Annoyed, you start to pack up your books. You don’t know why you’d think someone like Jay would actually show up to a voluntary tutor session. You were just about to make your way out of the library when you see someone running towards you almost like the flash. As the figure got closer to your still body, you realize it was Jay. Now, bent over in front of you gasping for air with his tongue out like a dog. You stared at his limped-over figure with confusion and slight disgust.
“s-s-sorry i was… late, i f-forgot about… this.” he manages to speak out with the little air he has in him. He stands up and evens out his breath.
“what makes you think i’m gonna tutor you now? you wasted my time Park, i have a life too you know.” you snap at him. He stares at you for a brief second before letting out a hearty laugh, throwing his head back and slapping his leg. He sees your serious expression, your eyes glaring at him like an eagle and awkwardly stops laughing.
“Look, i’m paying you and this is only gonna last for a little while. i just need to pass, that’s it.” His eyes shine with a hopeful gleam, a look that is extremely rare to see from Jay Park. He looked a little cute. You dramatically sigh and start walking into the library, Jay following behind you.
You settle at the table you sat at prior, re-opening your book bag to pull out your notes. He just watches you do that, not making an effort to even bring out a pencil.
“Okay, so how much french do you even know?”
He stares into space, a little hesitant to continue. “Um, i can ask if i can go to the bathroom?” You stare at him with disbelief. You’ve been in this class with him for months and that’s all he knows.
“THAT’S IT?”
“Oh and i can say good morning!” you let out a loud groan that catches the attention of others around, causing them to loudly shush at you. Feeling annoyed again, you contemplate if the money was really worth it. You sigh out and start looking for your notes from the beginning of the semester. This was gonna take a LONG time.
“... and that’s how you conjugate verbs in the past tense, aka passé composé!” You finish off the session with joy. Jay on the other hand has gone completely blank, not remembering a single word you just told him. He stares down at his notes, then at you, then back down at his notes. You can see the struggle on his face and he hasn’t said a word yet.
“I’m never gonna pass french. This is it. I can kiss France goodbye.” he claims with despair. This already too hard for him and he barely has learned anything. He sets his head on the table and mumbles to himself about how he will never be happy if he doesn’t live his youthful 20’s in France. You sat across from him irritated with his discouraging behaviour and a little sad that you weren’t able to teach him well. Until you come up with a plan that might help him improve much quicker.
“What if… we hang out this weekend? We can do something and we’ll only speak in French! Of course I’ll help you and all that. But like, maybe? Only if you want to of course you probably don’t wanna spend your weekend with me i dont know you know its just a plan.” you ramble on and on without stopping and Jay simply just watches you. He smirks a little before nodding.
“How about you put your number in my phone and then I’ll text you when I’m free hm?” he slides his phone across the table towards you and eyes you typing it in. He catches a glimpse of your rose-coloured cheeks and smirks a little more.
“Okay, uh there’s my number! Just um, text me you know, when you’re free!” you manage to stutter out. Jay just nods at you and again, watches you walk away. This time a slight smile across his face.
Tumblr media
A sudden notification pulls you away from your thoughts. An unknown number that you had a feeling belonged to a particular boy you didn’t think would actually text you.
042-002-1130: bonjour
042-002-1130: was that even right
042-002-1130: anyways I’m free on saturday if you wanna hang ig
042-002-1130: samedi is saturday right
042-002-1130: it is wow im such a genius
You let out a snort at his cocky behaviour and reply back, letting him know that you were free yourself and to meet you at the school grounds at 2 pm.
Saturday shows up as you wait outside the school gates, a picnic basket in hand. An all-black car with dark tinted windows zooms up to you. The window is pulled down and alas, the handsome boy sits in the driver’s seat, ushering you to get into the car with his hand.
“Woah a picnic basket? Listen y/n you’re cool and all but this isn’t a date,” he speaks and notices you roll your eyes. A smug smile tugging his lips.
“No you asshole, I have a plan with this.”
“Tell me,” Jay begins to drive away from the school. The destination is unknown to you but extremely familiar to the boy next to you.
“In here there is a bunch of food, in order for you to eat, you’re gonna have to say the name of the food in french.” He turns his head to see you looking back at him, a sweet smile places on your face. Jay has always known of you. You sat in the back of the classroom, handed in all your work on time and never skipped a class. You had very few friends and always seemed to be lost in a dream world when you weren’t working. Jay had never been able to speak to you personally as you always avoided him but know he has the chance to actually talk to you, and he doesn’t wanna mess it up.
The car stopped at the edge of a giant grassy field. The greenery going miles ahead. Trees surrounding the two of you. Jay like a gentleman runs out of the car to open the door for you. You blush at his actions, thanking him silently by smiling at him.
He directs you to a small spot under a tree. You lay out a blanket for you to sit on while Jay leans up against the tree. You tell him to sit down next to you as you bring out all the little snacks to share with him. He thinks that he could get used to this.
“D’accord, commençons! Qu'est-ce que ç'est?” (okay, lets start! What is this?)
You pick up a grape. He thinks for a little bit before answering. “Un raisin.” (a grape) You clap with glee and hand him over the grape. A silence falls between you both, unaware of how to keep going. He picks up a strawberry and brings it to your face. “Tu aime les fraises?” (do you like strawberries?) You eye him for a second, for someone who said he only knows how to ask how to go the bathroom in french, he knows quite a bit. You nod a little, opening your mouth and letting him feed you the sweet fruit. Your face matches the colour of the strawberry and he giggles. You pull out a sandwich and ask him to describe what’s in it.
“Dans le sandwich, il y a du jambon, du beurre, et de la tomate.” (in the sandwich there is some ham, some butter, and some tomato.) He speaks confidently.
“Trés bien Jay! Tu es bon en parler francias!” (very good Jay! You are really good at speaking French!)
“Merci, mon Cheri.” (Thank you, my dear.) you blush even more before and shy away from Jay’s gaze. Jay being the very bold guy that he is, placing his hand underneath your jaw, forcing you to meet his eyes. You both just stare at each other as the sun sets behind you. Was Jay always this beautiful? His eyes scan over your face seeking for any discomfort, none is to be found. So he makes the move and starts to lean in. You already have your eyes closed and lips puckered out, ready to embrace a feeling you’ve never felt before.
His breath fans over your lips and just before he kisses you he asks “je peux t’embrasser? (can I kiss you?) you eagerly nod and whisper out “embrasse-moi.” (kiss me.) Jay finally places his lips on yours and everything feels right. Your hands find their way to the back of his neck to deepen the kiss. You stay in this position with him for a little while before you pull back for air. Both his hands cradle your face, his thumb rubbing across the apples of your cheeks.
“I still have a lot to learn y’know?” Jay breaks the silence. You laugh out loud, falling into his lap.
“Same time next week then yeah?” He lets out a ‘hmm’ and watches you rest your head against his thigh, playing with the ends of your hair. ‘Maybe France could wait a little’ he thought.

DENKI KAMINARI | Ivre
It was strange for Denki Kaminari to be so frank with everyone after his many successes in his career. Especially after he had drunk one too many cups of punch. Upon arriving at his old haunting grounds, he parked his car just inside the gates before bumping into Ashido, the both of them arriving at the same time where Kirishima and Sero were hanging around. A few bits of conversation was tossed around here and there until Bakugou came and went, following after another alumni in the process.
Kaminari was thrilled to see his old classmates, buddying up to Jirou upon meeting her, as well as a few other members of his class. Everything was going smoothly, until he helped himself with some of Sato's punch along with Kirishima.
He became a bit of a mess.
"Sero, hey!" He called from across the table. "About that text message you sent-"
"Uh dude, now's not a good time," interrupted Sero with a nervous pull of his lips, his eyes darting around the auditorium.
"Huh? Okay," slovenly agreed Kaminari. "I'll talk to you later, actually, have you seen Aoyama anywhere?"
"Uh, yeah, I just spoke to him a while ago. He's probably at the-"
"Oh there he is!" Exclaimed Kaminari with a wave towards the drinks bar. "Aoyama, hey!" He immediately stood to his feet, a little flushed before he walked up to the fabulous-looking blond, spotting his attire still clean and immaculately refined.
"Ah, Kaminari," greeted Aoyama with a smile. "You look worse for wear."
"Nah, I'm good," reassured Kaminari. "I just wanted to say thank you for your help. I know it was short notice but your tips and tricks really helped."
"You mean that very quick phone call about French?"
Kaminari nodded slowly while he took another sip of his punch, happily enjoying the night. "I mean, I had them going for a little while, but they beat me fair and square. It's great though, thank you so much!"
Aoyama eyed the drunken blond, amused and concerned, before he began to wonder about his predicament. "So, um, where is this villain?"
"Aww, stop calling them that," reminded Kaminari before he pulled out a small device from his pocket. He pushed the device into Aoyama's face, the screen honing on a location very close to Gym Gamma, beeping repetitively.
"They're safe and sound in my car, see?" slurred Kaminari before he placed the honing device back into the pocket of his pants. Clumsily.
Aoyama eyed the blond in mild disbelief. "They're here?"
"Of course, my job needs me to be near them at all times," answered Kaminari, while he finally pocketed the device. "I can't leave them alone at mine."
"Well, yes, but they shouldn't stay alone in the car all night," voiced Aoyama.
"Relax, they're cuffed so they can't escape," reassured Kaminari.
A gasp escaped Aoyama's lips upon hearing this predicament, his tone swaying and swooning disappointingly. "But what about the little Cherie?" He questioned. "Sitting in the car while we're having the night of our lives. I can only imagine what they may be thinking, being locked up all alone unable to do anything."
Kaminari's drunken smile slowly faded after processing Aoyama's words. How long has he been at this reunion now? It may have been a couple of hours, maybe even more. He couldn't tell with all the fun and laughs he joined in speaking and conversing with his old classmates.
"Maybe it is best to invite them here, hm?" suggested Aoyama. "They don't sound as bad as you make them out to be. And besides, as Heroes, we have to set an example."
Kaminari's shoulders slumped at Aoyama's suggestion, his eyes staring down at the floor of the auditorium with an embarrassed look crossing his face. He hadn't been the greatest host, more so, the greatest friend despite the professional stance on his responsibilities.
"I should bring them in, huh?" He asked, a little disheartened at his lack of empathy.
All Aoyama did was beam a smile.
——
You occupied yourself in the car with a basic beat knocking the door and shaking the cuffs. Night had already fallen outside and the sound of crickets hit your ears, but time felt still that you had no idea how much had passed. An hour or two? There wasn't much to keep you entertained while Kaminari enjoyed his reunion. You could hear the bass of the music play from the car, spotting the lights of the auditorium glow through the canopies of the trees that lined the walkways. You smiled at the rhythm, recognizing Earphone Jack's music.
You sighed, while you slumped in the passenger seat, reclining the seat a little to find some comfort despite the cuffs and the ankle brace. You regretted not bringing a book to keep you stimulated. If anything, you didn't sign up to hours of boredom.
KNOCK KNOCK
You blinked out of your bored stupor, spotting the blond outside of the car, waving cheerfully yet holding an embarrassed look on his face. It took you back until he walked over to the driver's seat, sitting beside you in the car. It was no surprise to smell the alcohol on him, hitting your senses like a tidal wave.
"So..." started Kaminari. "You doing okay?"
He was definitely drunk.
"I'm fine, I've been worse," you replied with a small smile. "Just the usual checkup tonight?"
"Well, um..." Kaminari's eyes looked away from yours, almost ashamed. "I'm sorry."
"Huh? About what?"
"Leaving you here while I'm inside having the time of my life."
You tried to look into Kaminari's eyes, but he made it difficult. Was this really how he felt? Or was that the alcohol that reeked from him? Learning about the Pro-Hero over the course of his supervision was unpredictable, but watching him now genuinely saddened made you wonder if all of his inhibitions had crumbled.
"You're just doing your job," you reassured, lifting your cuffs to prove a point. "Besides, taking me in a large outing filled with Pro-Heroes and the like would have been a bad idea."
Still, Kaminari wallowed.
"Roi de la Fee? Prince Charmant? Cherie?"
"Stop."
The look on Kaminari's face did not change while he stared off blankly into the car's dashboard. He sat there silent, succumbing to his emotions about the situation currently playing out.
"This is my job, but you're not the job," he explained, his voice laced with a dash of croakiness. "You're a decent human being, and I've left you here like a dog."
"Well, I did say that I was happy to just be under house arrest tonight," you reassured with a wry smile. "That way you could go out and enjoy yourself."
"No, that's not it. I brought you along saying that I needed to keep an eye on you, but really... um..."
Kaminari's eyes continued to cast down on the dashboard, refusing to look you in the eye while he mumbled around with his words and thoughts. You figured he was well drunk, the smell of him didn't deny him of that, but while his eyes rose to meet yours, there was a glint of guilt.
"I guess, I really wanted a plus one here, but at the last minute, I decided to leave you."
There it was. Uncertainty. Similar to how you saw him back at your capture and how he reacted to the situation. However, the both of you conversed many days and nights now, recalling that impromptu outing to a trivial recreation that was mini putt-putt, and have since learnt more about one another. You figured at the very least, his cold feet were brought upon after seeing a friend of his by the academy's gates - a pink-haired, pink-skinned beauty who waved him over.
You sighed and hummed in reply, uncertain yourself as to how to respond to this confession of sorts. Reassurance may look like pity, laughter would definitely make light of his feelings about it, but in the back of your mind, you felt oddly sympathetic to his emotions. You almost felt excited that you were within the walls of the illustrious school.
"I can take you back to mine," Kaminari offered while he scrounged for his keys. "I don't want you to be uncomfortable-"
"Oh no," you interrupted, grabbing hold of his hands. "You are way too inebriated to be driving."
Kaminari only stared at you, dumbfounded, realizing the folly of his suggestion. "Right, um... well I can't give you the wheel and-"
"Kaminari, why did you come back to the car?"
A silence fell between the both of you while you still kept your eyes on Kaminari, the blond taking a deep breath and attempting to think clearly.
"I... I... I spoke to a friend, and he suggested inviting you in to join us tonight."
"Oh? So the Heroes know you have a villain captive by the gates?" You teased in a small jest.
"Not only that but they want to meet you. Not in a scary way, you know, in a good way. Like they want to get to know you, not like interrogating you just, really meet you, and-"
"I guess you've been saying good things about me," you interrupted softly. "Well, as long as you're my chaperone for the night?"
Kaminari turned his eyes onto your smiling ones, beaming with a grin, his face still running warm from the alcohol. "Of course! I mean, if you want to."
A soft smile tugged at the corner of your lips while your hands still held onto Kaminari's throughout this conversation. "I would be honored," you replied with a slight bow of your head.
Immediately in his drunken stupor, Kaminari leapt from his seat and out of his car, running over to your door. Sadly, in a momentary lapse of drunkenness, he had forgotten about your wrists still bound by the door with cuffs, causing Kaminari to immediately in his hurry unlatch you from them.
"Sorry," he apologized while he helped you out of his car.
"It's all right Kaminari. I'm okay," you reassured, finding your feet and soon holding Kaminari up as a support for his clumsy ones. He paid no mind though, allowing you to keep his arm propped against you, ensuring his stability on his weak drunken legs.
"Shall we?" He asked.
"Lead the way."
Kaminari shifted while you held onto his arms, propping his weight onto you. Still, he held you, leading this drunken sway from his car down the laneways towards the bright lights of the auditorium. He leaned his head on yours, smelling the alcohol and feeling the flush of his skin on yours. Kaminari had never been this close before, knowing in the back of your mind that his inhibitions were driving him now more than his common sense. You allowed his actions to dictate the trek to the auditorium, until his breath tickled your ear, his words breathless.
"I love you..."
Your smile disappeared for a moment, still on the walk while he continued on.
"... and that's the beginning and end of everything."
You sighed with a heavy heart, smirking at his quotability still drunk, and knowing you've been reading The Great Gatsby thrice now. Yet his choice of words only hurt.
"May I ask, was this friend of yours your French tutor you mentioned earlier?" You asked curiously, trying to keep your thoughts at bay.
All you received was a nervous chuckle from Kaminari, his grin only captivating you despite the hindsight. "That obvious?" He asked while he clumsily tripped on his feet every once in a while.
"Just an educated guess, Cherie."

HANTA SERO | Outfoxed
Hanta Sero smiled up at the large white gates of his academy, memories flooding back in torrents and waves on all of the adventures, and a few mishaps, he got himself involved in with his ragtag of friends. After making his way to his old haunting grounds, Sero greeted Kirishima outside Gym Gamma, smart and casual for the evening to begin.
"Oh yeah, your date!" exclaimed Kirishima in mid-conversation. "How did it go?"
"Uh... it went pretty all right actually," answered Sero, grinning wryly while he recalled a few points made during his rendezvous in the city's museum.
"As long as you feel good about it, there shouldn't be any problems," piped Kirishima's partner. "Seeing them again soon?"
"Um..."
"Hey guys!"
Sero inwardly sighed in relief hearing Ashido's cry from afar, interrupting the conversation, and soon finding Kaminari along with her setting his mind at ease. Kaminari was the only one amongst the group who had full knowledge of his working relationship with you. Having heard of his work with the Commission, and his constant supervision over one of their more villainous assets, Sero thought he could find some advice from the Stun Gun Hero and close friend.
That was until the night was underway.
With Kaminari and Kirishima drunk from punch, Sero had to unfortunately be the sober one at the reunion, seeing how Bakugou couldn't care less about the current situation. A loose eye around the dance floor ensured Kirishima was taken care of, and soon enough, Kaminari became chatty with old schoolmates, leaving Sero a moment of reprieve for himself. He sighed in exasperation, finally relaxing into his chair until he spotted something on his dirty plate.
It looked awfully familiar.
Salutations Bucky.
Sero choked on his breath sitting up on his seat, immediately turning his eyes to scan the enormous auditorium, filled to the brim of every student across their year. How on earth did you get inside, he thought, his eyes darting around the room hoping to spot something familiar - your fur-trimmed clothes, your outfit, even your eyes.
He didn't even notice Kaminari approach him from across the table, his arms leaning onto it in a drunken stupor.
"Sero, hey! About that text message you sent-"
"Uh dude, now's not a good time," interrupted Sero anxiously.
"Huh? Okay, I'll talk to you later, actually, have you seen Aoyama anywhere?"
Sero's mind was elsewhere, his eyes were focused more so through the crowd rather than Kaminari's presence whatsoever. "Uh, yeah, I just spoke to him a while ago. He's probably at the-"
"Oh there he is!"
Sero didn't pay any mind to Kaminari's movements or whereabouts. He only managed to notice something move in the distance, something out of sorts until a flash of eyes met his, disappearing into the crowd. Idle chatter and the cacophony of voices drowned his senses. He could only spot a glimpse of this person, who weaved through the crowd until he emerged finding nobody in the middle of nowhere.
Perhaps he was imagining it. Surely if he walked back to his table that card wouldn't be there. All a trick of the mind, and probably one too many patrols in the city. He scratched the back of his head, playing with the bristles that tickled his palm without realizing he was still being watched.
You stood by the makeshift bar, eyeing the Pro Hero in the middle of the crowd with a smile. Sneaking into the event was a little troublesome, but nothing like taking out a waiter and disguising as them solved that problem. It was strange to walk around... normal. No black eye makeup, no mask, no outfit. Just you, in a waiter's outfit, but truly you.
Looking around the auditorium was a sight to behold. Everyone was here, and you couldn't help the coy feeling that bubbled inside knowing you stood amongst the most prominent Heroes to grace Musatafu this day and age. To your estimate, you had eavesdropped on a fair few conversations, finding some boring, and others mildly amusing. To your dismay, there had been nothing relative to what you were searching for. Nothing close to the Paranormal Liberation Front. Perhaps a reunion wasn't the right locale to discuss work matters, at least in the company you kept.
You started to reset your tray of horderves by the bar, attempting to keep your cover when a strikingly handsome man stood beside you, helping himself to some already on your tray.
"Couldn't wait?" You asked.
"Ah, but it is just too delectable to wait upon Cher," he spoke, his flamboyant nature almost lighting up the room. That accent was just-
"Are you French?" You asked, earning a dazzling smile from the man.
"Oui, well, I do speak French. Aoyama," he introduced with a bow.
You stared at the man inquisitively, wondering about his mannerisms, his speech, and how he projected himself until-
"Nice to meet you," you started while you set yourself with the tray to serve. "I have a question that you might help me with."
"Whatever for?" Asked Aoyama with a flamboyant flair.
"You reckon there are better alternatives to Mio Caro? I don't mind it but I think it's cute."
You soon walked into the crowd, leaving Aoyama off-guard at least. You merged back into the crowd with a smile on your face, semi-proud of your elusiveness while you kept an eye on where Sero had disappeared amongst the large body of alumni around the auditorium. It didn't stop you from stealing an horderve or two for yourself until you felt a tug on your shirt.
"Hey, been working hard?"
The voice was not familiar, and yet it wasn't also at your level, looking down to find a short man beside you. He grinned widely while his eyes looked you up and, well, up.
"You know I could take you behind the scenes of this academy. Show you around," he spoke with an attempt at temptation.
You stifled a chortle that almost burst through your nostrils, only to cover it clearing your throat. You looked around the room, hoping that ignoring him and his comment may be the solution.
"I know all of the more romantic spots here."
Or at least you thought.
"No thank you sir," you spoke as formally as you could.
"Really? You're the most gorgeous person I've seen aside from my fellow classmates here," he continued.
"Why thank you. But I must be going."
You continued your way through the crowds, handing more horderves around only to feel that presence next to you. That short man just didn't quit.
"How about we step outside for some fresh air?" He suggested. "Get out of the noise."
"I quite like it here sir," you rebutted, noticing the tray growing empty until the last horderve was procured through the crowd. "The noise helps me think."
"Well then, if you like to be noisy we could-"
Slam
You quickly threw the empty tray into the man's face. Not so difficult given how short he was before you teleported yourself across the room, your light bursting momentarily through the air. You hoped the commotion with the tray would keep eyes away from you, appearing on the other side, out of sight.
You breathed a sigh of relief. You had never seen persistence to that degree. Still, you couldn't blame the guy for having some good taste, smiling at the thought with a roll of your eyes. You brushed the uniform down from the commotion earlier when the sound of footsteps caught your ear, spotting a shadow that stretched ahead of you from the fairy lights.
Until the tall frame of a dual-haired man in a white suit exited the party, with phone in hand.
He looked distracted, paying attention more to his phone call than to you standing by the doors, until you recognised that it was the one and only Shouto.
"There is nothing more you found?" he asked calmly and yet with a presence that would make your blood run cold, frozen even, despite the irony in that.
"I don't trust them," he continued on the line. "Has the Commission been a little co-operative on their end?"
The word caught your ear, perked them in curiosity and interest, while you leaned against the open doors, intently listening in on this one-sided conversation. A sigh was all you heard, hearing the frustration in the Hero's voice before his eyes looked up at the night sky, watching the stars sparkle brightly above.
"Keep an eye out on anything that's related to Rainmaker at least," he ordered over the phone. "There's something about him I don't like."
A pause cut through the air, waiting for another piece of the conversation to continue only to meet the Hero's exasperated sigh.
"No, it's got nothing to do with my Love, all right?" he spat, almost embarrassed over the comment, until the light tone of a laugh could be discerned over his phone. "Send Aizawa my regards."
With that, Todoroki hung up on his phone, turning back into the auditorium before his eyes merely glanced at you, his scar prominent in the light. You stared at awe at the Hero, watching his aloof and nonchalant gaze follow you while he walked, only for that expression to soften into a smile, nodding at your presence. Your eyes followed him back inside while he affixed his cuffs on his suit. For someone who had a cold front, he was actually a warm person, you thought, leaning back onto the doors again.
"Hate to break it to you, but you seem to be stuck," spoke a voice beside you, catching you off guard, until a smile cracked on your lips.
"All right, you caught me, fair and square," you conceded with your arms in the air, turning to face Sero now by the doors. Sero only stared, seeing you without the getup, without the makeup, without the added exhaustion from troublesome chases the both of you endured. He just saw you, bare for him to see.
"Like what you see?" You piped, almost shyly this time around.
"What are you doing here?" He asked, suspicious of your presence.
"It's all in the news, and I didn't want to miss seeing all of your friends," you replied in jest. "The ones who celebrated your birthday I'd imagine? Besides, it's good to get out and meet new people. And there's nothing worth going after in town anyway."
Sero continued to only stare, lost while he absorbed the most normal facade you wore. His eyes trailed along the outfit, while you chuckled inwardly, feeling the awkwardness in the air.
"I'm sorry," slowly spoke Sero. "It's just... did you steal that outfit?"
"No," you replied in slight offense. "I borrowed it."
Sero eyed you again with a raised brow, assessing your response with suspicion. As he should be. Finding you here amongst his friends was a surprise, but ever since that "date", and every other time he encountered you, there was always a catch.
"... after I knocked the guy out," you ended, earning a slightly panic-strickened Sero to react intensely momentarily. "But they're fine! I made them comfortable... in a kitchen pantry, but they're not hurt!"
Sero sighed exasperatedly at your explanation, giving up in this weak interrogation for your supposed gatecrash into the reunion. Soon the tempo of the music changed, turning into a slow and rhythmic sway. Sero turned to spot the dance floor now calmer, filled with those who began to slow dance in the room. It was a magical sight with the fairy lights, almost like graduation returned to the present again.
"Don't worry, I'll leave. I've brought too much attention anyway," you reassured him. "At least let me have one doggy bag to go."
You turned to the Pro Hero only to find his hand open to you, his torso in a semi-bow while he smiled. It was an odd interaction, one you weren't familiar with.
"May I offer this dance before I do?" He asked genially. "You're here now, so you may as well experience prom."
Your confused stare slowly turned into a smile, taking his hand and being pulled into a sway just outside the doors. He was extremely coordinated, no less from the most agile Pro Hero you've encountered, but he held you gently in his arms while you instinctively without thought, laid your head on his chest. Though the crowd inside enjoyed the atmosphere, you enjoyed Sero's company, underneath the night sky, swaying in his arms. A smile crept on your lips, involuntarily you'd admit. But the sound of Sero's heartbeat felt calming, the deep thrum engulfing your senses.
You felt... normal.
Sero held your body against his wondering how this felt so different from every other time he had encountered you outside of this academy. It felt as if you melted into him, allowing him to take the lead this time. Relinquishing control must have been foreign to you, or so Sero thought, still swaying alone by the doors outside of anyone's prying eyes.
The both of you stopped while you held each other in your arms, embracing this feeling the both of you shared in this moment together. You never would have imagined baring everything you were to this man, staring back into his genuine grin and eyes, silhouetted by the fairy lights behind him. You peeked past him, spying on the crowds that congregated in the auditorium until a familiar face strode gracefully towards Sero from behind.
"Sero, mon ami," called out Aoyama, his hands waving in the air. "I've been looking for you everywhere."
Sero blinked from the sudden disappearance of your figure, left with only fractals of light before he turned around to greet Aoyama.
"Hey Aoyama," he replied nervously in acknowledgement.
"How goes that thief you were talking about?"
Sero's hairs stood on end in panic. Were you spotted with him, dancing moments ago together? If he were lucky, he would imagine Aoyama commenting about him dancing with the catering staff, a good sign if he did.
"Well, they've been... elusive," answered Sero, his eyes darting around the doors hoping to spot you somewhere nearby.
"Elusive indeed. I've been thinking about another kind of code name you could tease them with next time you spot them," motioned Aoyama with a sense of pride.
"Huh?"
"I've been thinking that calling them Mio Caro was too, what's the word, specific? It sounded boring the more I thought about it."
Sero wondered what came about with this conversation, but to his relief, Aoyama showed no inkling of him witnessing you with him moments before he interrupted the moment.
"Oh really?" Slowly asked Sero, suspicious about how this came about. "What other ideas do you-"
"Aoyama!" Cooed a voice from outside. "Come meet them! They're awesome!"
Sero and Aoyama both turned to find Kaminari, still drunk, being led or leading his plus one to the door. It looked to be a mess from the both of them, more so because of Kaminari's inebriation. Both men instinctively approached the couple, Sero taking Kaminari and Aoyama offering his arm to his plus one, the villain turned Commission's witness. The group, despite the sloppiness in Kaminari's slurred speech, made their ways back to the doors, unaware of them being watched by you, your eyes taking in the scene, but mostly on Sero before he disappeared into the auditorium.
You breathed a sigh of relief, lying your body atop the roof of the auditorium, staring up at the stars in the sky twinkling much like the fairy lights inside. Your chest bubbled with laughter, happily taking in that moment with Sero - the warmth of his hands, the sway of his feet, the sight of his smile while he led you step by step.
Gate crashing was worth it. You've experienced prom, even if it was only for that brief moment.
"Thanks Bucky."

HITOSHI SHINSOU | Soulmate
It was a long day at the Commission's office before you hopped out to make your way to your reunion. Given that you had only recently spoken to Bakugou and Kirishima due to their mission on Nabu Island, you smiled at the thought to see them dressed up for the night, rather than their disheveled, bandaged selves from whatever happened in the quiet town.
The thought of the reports were fresh in your mind while you strolled towards the academy. Headshots of the suspect were included as well, seeing his smiling face in frame. Compared to most captives, he wasn't cocky, but it looked genuine despite the photo. Still, interrogations would commence in a few days seeing that due process was required before any more information could be collated together.
You spotted a few familiar faces in the street heading towards the school, most of them faces from other classes that you recognized until a mop of purple hair caught your eye loitering by the tall white gates. Hitoshi Shinsou was dressed to the nines, prim and proper, but not in that dark purple suit.
"Hey," you called from afar, catching his eye before you reached him by the gates. "Were you waiting long?"
"Not really," he answered dryly, stretching his limbs. "I was actually getting comfortable."
"I'm just a little disappointed," you commented with a smirk, catching wind of Shinsou's confused expression. "I was really hoping to see you in that suit again."
"Oh, that suit," he murmured apathetically before he sniggered under his breath, walking up to you lazily before his nose hovered close to yours. "Am I not good enough?"
You couldn't help but burst into a giggle with him being so close. An involuntary reaction you were sure, but it gave him a smile seeing you react the way you did, grabbing hold of your hand while his fingers entwined in yours.
"Well you've proven the suit doesn't make the man," you quipped happily.
You could feel his chuckle close to your ear before he slowly pulled away from you, taking you by the hand back into your academy once more. It felt surreal to walk through the paths again, recalling the times you've seen Shinsou take laps around the dorms during off-hour training. Memories flooded back, watching the new generation of students walking past, whispering under their breaths. It didn't phase you though. You could hear every word they were thinking, smiling at their curious natures.
"Did I miss something?" Asked Shinsou beside you.
"Not much," you snarked through your giggles. "Just heard some good things about you."
"Oh really?"
You beamed a smile at him, gently caressing his hand with your thumb while you tried to keep his eye on you. "Sounds like you're a role model for the underprivileged, but you also have a fan club."
News of such magnitude caused his shoulders to stiffen. You spotted it despite the flattering suit he wore only making you chuckle deeper. The look in his eye was a multitude of emotions, ranging from confused, shocked, and utter disappointment. You continued to comfort his hand in yours, still walking past while spotting a group of students whispering, attempting to steal gazes at the both of you making your way to Gym Gamma.
"It's hard to ignore," you concluded, still looking up at Shinsou who looked away, slightly embarrassed. "Want to know what they're saying-"
"No," he interrupted. "I don't need any self-serving praise. I'm here to spend a night with the one person I trust the most. And work needs to be as far away as possible."
You sighed in agreement. Work was becoming a little too close to home having taken on the case with the assassin and the Tartarus prison break. The trip to Polis Massa Bay yielded very little results despite witness accounts of a trio who fit some description to the members of the prison coup. There were no other sightings during that weekend.
Night was on its approach with the dark blues merging with the last dregs of sunset pinks in the sky. Ahead, you spotted the last of your alumni entering the auditorium, pulling gently on Shinsou's arm to quicken your pace. You weren't extremely late by any means, but seeing that most invitees have already entered made it seem so.
"No need to rush Kitten," spoke Shinsou, still allowing you to pull him by the arm.
"Come on, we can't miss Iida's and Yaoyoruzu's welcoming speech," you advised.
"Is that the highlight of your night?"
"No, but it'll make for great vocabulary building."
Shinsou sighed at your rationale but can only smile at your fervent need to join the others inside. It wasn't often either of you would surround yourself with many friends, whether it was work, or just general bad timing. To him, he still couldn't fathom the idea of calling the others friends, but a slip of the tongue here and there had seeped into his own vocabulary, only caught by your ear. He took a deep breath before the both of you reached the doors to the auditorium, filled to the brim of all the students of their graduating year, now grown older and hopefully wiser.
"Shall we?" You asked while your arm wrapped around his.
Shinsou said nothing, only smiling at you before he took the lead inside the brightly lit auditorium, sprinkled with fairy lights.
——
After taking your seats and enjoying the night's festivities, the both of you soon caught up with your former classmates, holding conversation and learning more on the gossip. You smiled at the sight of Bakugou and his now fiancé, recalling that weekend away bumping into the both of them there and chuckling wryly at the awkwardness at the time. You soon noticed Shinsou approach Bakugou and converse with him from afar, watching the irate blond pull faces at him, most probably after a mild insult. You shook your head at how the two of them would still butt heads with one another until you felt something different in the air.
Out of all the surface thoughts you could hear, you suddenly gained access to the conversation between Shinsou and Bakugou, staring off at nothing while you sat at your table amongst the rest of its residents still chatting away. It was difficult to ignore while you intently listened.
"Eh? What about it, Eyebags?" Spoke Bakugou while he took a sip of punch.
"Congratulations," simply replied Shinsou, opening his hand out to the blond.
Bakugou stared at him with a furrowed brow, however he took his hand, shaking it firmly. "Tch, it was nothing."
"So how do you feel?"
"What do you mean?"
"Was the frustration worth it in the end? You were pretty mad on that lunch date," reminded Shinsou with a smirk.
"It's because people like you and your weakass partner were getting in my way the whole time we were there," complained Bakugou.
You cringed at his comment. Bakugou was Bakugou, even though he had softened his edges over the years. Still, it didn't help his rude undertones every once in a while.
"Hey, firstly, they're not weak, and secondly, you just had the worst case of bad luck," explained Shinsou with a slight harsh edge to his voice.
Bakugou scoffed before downing the last of his punch, eyeing the crowd of guffawing alumni until they laid on his fiancé not too far away, laughing and chiding away with his friends at their table. Shinsou caught that look on his face, that cocky smirk obvious to see.
"You worry too much sometimes," he uttered nonchalantly.
"What was that?" Snapped Bakugou.
"You want to make a grandiose gesture, and I bet that you had to slow down when it all went down, right?"
Bakugou sneered at Shinsou's question, almost turning his lips into a pout which caught Shinsou's eye again.
"So, you did take my advice."
"Shut it Eyebags," snapped Bakugou once more, earning a chuckle from the sleep-deprived man while he enjoyed his cup of punch. "You say one more goddamn word-"
"Your secret is safe with me," interrupted Shinsou. "No one needs to know, and besides, nobody would believe that you and I enjoyed that lunch date together anyway."
The sound of Bakugou's scoff echoed in your mind again, realizing that you had finally discovered at least to some degree what Shinsou was insinuating back at Polis Massa Bay. The mere idea that Bakugou had the patience to go through, let alone listen to, Shinsou's advice was astonishing. Perhaps there was a mutual respect between the two over the years since their first encounter back at UA.
You felt proud, swelling almost inside with content that Shinsou grew to become sociable in his own way. However, your eyes turned towards the duo across the hall, spotting Shinsou's eye now on you, sipping his punch from the cup he held. Your shoulders stiffened at his gaze, turning your eyes away from him in slight embarrassment. No one had noticed your reactions at the table as of yet, however Shinsou's words in your head echoed loudly.
"Enjoyed the show?" He asked in your head, feeling it lower between your shoulders, unsure how to react until a hand calmly rested on your back.
You turned up to find Shinsou now by your side with a smirk on his face, as if he could feel every fibre in your being burn with mortification over your impromptu eavesdropping. The next thing you knew, he took you by the hand, leading you from the table and walking with you around the auditorium, circling the dance floor filled with already jovial fellow alumni.
"We never did dance at our graduation, didn't we?" asked Shinsou, taking your mind from the earlier teasing nature he threw at you so suddenly.
"No, I think we both agreed to stay out of it," you answered, reminiscing the year graduation was underway, filled with already drunken students enjoying the night from years of tutelage.
Shinsou hummed in thought while he clutched onto your arm, your hand in his, until the song slowly turned into a slower tempo, watching the swarm of alumni shift on the floor and the couples taking stage. Still standing outside the ring of the dance floor, Shinsou turned to face you, guiding your hand onto his shoulder while he held onto you, soon swaying on the spot irregardless of whoever was watching.
Hitoshi, we should be on the dance floor, you spoke in your head, staring up into his tired yet smiling eyes.
It doesn't matter. We can dance wherever we want, he replied back in your mind, his lopsided smile turning into a small grin.
The both of you shared this moment together, swaying to and fro outside of everybody else, to the tune of your own beat and in each other's company. You melted into Shinsou, while you listened to the beat of his heart in his chest, slow and calm. Shinsou only wrapped you in his arms, content to have you, and yet pondered further on many things. After conversing with Bakugou over the course of his life decisions, at least unexpectedly, Shinsou thought more on the topic at hand. It felt just right for him to make plans.
And he hoped you weren't eavesdropping this time, while his hands trailed up your back, holding you to him.

TENYA IIDA | Belated
The sound of your breath heaved violently in your lungs while you rushed through the streets, every so often weaving past passersby with ease.
Some of the time.
"Hey watch it!"
"Oops, sorry!" You called back with a twirl, adjusting a piece of your outfit while still in motion. Crossing the street yielded catastrophic results, at least for some of the drivers who blared their horns at your seeming obliviousness.
You grinned happily at your anticipation, the excitement brewing in your gut when you spotted the tall white gates ahead belonging to the most prestigious Hero Academy in all of Musatafu. To step foot through those gates felt like a privilege in itself, otherwise it was just general hype over the years staring off into the distance from your school grounds years ago.
Why must you be such a fanatic? No wonder people saw you differently, you thought, shrugging it away until you approached the tall gates, handing your pass for this reunion that most probably was about to proceed with its orientation speech. You bit your lip nervously. After being allowed onto the premises, a little dread crept in your mind that you were going to miss the reason why you were invited.
Your boss, Tenya Iida, was about to make the honorary welcoming speech.
And you were fashionably late.
Now fully dressed despite being a little rough around the edges from your rush through the city from Idaten's agency, you ran with large strides towards Gym Gamma, thankful that you had quickly asked the security guards by the gates the general direction towards the auditorium. You ignored the confused looks of students who were leaving the premises, heaving heavily again until you spotted the fairy lights that decorated the paths.
You chuckled brightly, rekindling some hope that maybe you made it just in time. Perhaps they stalled for a moment, like how cinemas ran advertisements before the commencement of the movie. Maybe they were still mingling about, something you can easily just slip into without anyone knowing the wiser. There were many ways this would end, but surely, once you reached the open doors of the auditorium, you rounded the corner abruptly.
"And safe!" you yelled, suddenly catching wind of the echo of your voice that blasted in the very silent auditorium.
The awkwardness felt so thick that you could potentially slice it with a knife, finding that all eyes were on you by the doors. You slowly peeked into the large room, your eyes immediately drawn towards the podium set up for the night where the two MCs stood - one a voluptuous dark-haired beauty with hair you wished was your own, and the other, your boss, mouth slightly agape while he eyeballed you through his glasses. You cringed at the scene before you cleared your throat, lightly waving at everybody inside before you slowly walked away from the doors, turning to hide from prying eyes.
You couldn't help a groan escape from your throat, head heavy, wondering if that was the exhaustion catching up to you from your rush to get here, or the embarrassment of possibly interrupting the party. Still, you overheard the MCs continue on with their speech, listening into their anecdotes over the course of their school years. It was pleasant to imagine how they coloured their experiences while you leaned against the wall, smiling, listening intently to Iida's regimental tone.
----
Eventually the rising volume of voices and chatter was your queue to enter into the auditorium, less rowdy and out-of-breath than you were earlier. Your eyes darted around in search for Iida, but quickly found your way towards the flurry of tables when a green-haired gentleman called you over - quickly realising it was the Number One Hero, Deku. Your heart skipped inside your ribcage, but you attempted to keep a cool facade, welcomed by the table of Heroes while they led you to your seat right next to Iida's, which was empty.
"Glad you could make it," welcomed the Number One. "We've heard a lot of things about you.."
"Oh, good things I hope?" You questioned nervously.
"Well, I figured your grand entrance was the cherry on top."
That nervousness grew tenfold upon hearing that from the Number One. It only set your mind to wonder what exactly Iida had said about you to others, let alone, and most probably, to all his close friends and classmates.
The churn in your stomach was blatantly difficult to ignore, clutching onto it while you nervously laughed further. "Sorry, I just ran from work to get here. Haven't had a bite to eat since breakfast this morning."
Suddenly, as if by some miracle, a plate appeared in front of you, served with tonight's dinner now lukewarm. The sound of the chair beside you pulled from the table caught your ear until you felt the presence of a large figure sit by your side, his arms crossed in mild frustration.
You knew that judgemental energy anywhere.
"Thanks Tenya," you slowly spoke, eyeing the tall man while he righted his glasses upon the bridge of his nose.
"You're late," he spoke dryly.
"Fashionably."
"Don't start."
"But I was on a roll," you explained with a whine. "I was on the precipice of completing Stage Two!"
"Didn't you call them Phases?"
"Close enough."
"No it isn't. You need to be consistent."
"Is everything all right?" Asked Todoroki, eyeing the both of you next to Midoriya.
"Everything's fine," clarified Iida, clearing his throat in an attempt to redirect the conversation.
"Sorry, I just get excited when I talk about Big Blue," you admitted before you dug into your plate of food.
"Big Blue?" Continued Todoroki, still with an aloof expression despite the question.
"Yeah, she's my baby," you simply replied between gulps of food.
"You named your daughter Big Blue?"
"Uh, Todoroki, I think that's not exactly what they're talking about," clarified Midoriya.
"Big Blue is one of their passion projects back in Idaten's Research and Development," explained Iida with a sigh, eyeing you still gorging on the dinner plate. "It's meant to be used in an emergency, once they've completed the build and preliminary tests."
"It's officially called Belligerent Backup, or BB for short," you emphasized while still trying to be in conversation. "But I like Big Blue better."
Iida pinched the bridge of his nose, exhausted from your high levels of energy and excitement. Aside from the few coffee trips he made to R&D, he hadn't heard much from you coming up to this reunion, cooped up in the workshops at the agency to even take notice of the day and time. He felt lucky that he rescued a plate for you when you surely arrived, seeing as you never made it earlier this evening before doors opened into Gym Gamma.
"You're really passionate about this, huh?" Asked Yaoyoruzu from across the way, recognizing that she was the one that stood next to Iida on stage.
"It's not the act of creating the invention, it's the process and journey along the way that really excites me," you admitted. "Like the one time when I had to test for Tenya's breathing performance, which required having to create a mold of his-"
"Okay that's enough," interrupted Iida, causing a small pout to form on your lips before you finished the rest of your meal.
Despite being close to age, Iida still held rank above you. Of course, being the brother of Tensei Iida, the man behind the formation of the agency, was a good reason why, but that didn't stop Iida's tendency to check on your health every chance he had. The thought of it brought a smile on your face.
Soon the party was underway, you watched the crowd mingle and dance together on the dance floor, spotting many congregate around some key players. Iida made the rounds with you only for you to trap Cellophane in conversation after he discussed his recent happenstance with a certain thief on his patrols as of late. The thought of upgrading his gear was tantalizing.
"Seriously, you need the latest tech to help you out, and I know just the thing," you quipped excitedly.
"Really?" Asked Sero, curious of your suggestion.
"That my friend would be me!" You piped with thumbs pointing at you. "This thief of yours won't have a chance against any tech I make."
"You're sounding a lot like Hatsume."
"Wait, you know her?"
"We all do. She made most of our tech back when we were students."
Slack-jawed from the epiphany, you turned to Iida next to you, your expression hurt and betrayed. "You didn't tell me this!" You shouted, throwing a finger at Iida.
"I thought it wasn't relevant," he replied dryly.
"I need to know these things. How else do I know who I'm up against previously?"
"It's none of your concern."
"Anyway, it'd be great if you swung by Idaten," you suggested while turning to Sero with a smile. "I can solve your dilemma, or at least give you an upper hand." With a flick of your wrist, you handed Sero a business card, complete with your details and the Idaten insignia emblazoned on its stock. You completely ignored the exasperated sigh from Iida behind you.
"Uh... thanks," mused Sero while he took the card from your hand, spotting his eye towards the dance floor. "It was nice meeting you, but I gotta save a friend, sorry."
"Give me a call!" You shouted after, watching the Tape Hero make his way towards the floor, noticing his intention to help Chargebolt who draped over his plus one.
Your eyes drifted around, feeling the heaviness of sleep weigh on your mind before you decided to recite to yourself what you observed. Earphone Jack, the muso who headed the night's entertainment along with her Hero career, enjoyed a night along with her classmates; Uravity, the caring Gravity Hero who had been rising in rank as of late, conversing with Deku; Tsukuyomi, the dark Hero enjoying the night while chaperoning a friend of his by the looks of it, and then-
"What's the progress on BB?" Asked Iida next to you. Your eyes piqued at his voice, spotting his tall frame now with a serious look.
"Oh? Um, she's coming along," you started. "As you know Phase One was a success, but by my calibrations, she needs to have more injection in her acceleration capacitors. Phase Two should be complete in the next couple of days, give or take, depending on how her balance and suspension perform."
"They're Phases now?" Questioned Iida with a quirked brow.
"They've always been Phases," you beamed with a smile, earning an exasperated sigh from Iida. "Although, it would be wise that we test it on the field. I'd need to know exactly how it would function in a live scenario. Dummies would be ineffective in seeing how it would perform."
Iida spotted the serious look on your face, your mind mulling over the quandaries in your head. "How about you test it with me?" He suggested.
"What? No!" You cried with an outburst. "It's meant to be a surprise!"
"Having anyone else in our agency as volunteers to your projects is unwise," explained Iida. "At least I'm aware of BB's project."
"Yeah but that would destroy any usable data on its effectiveness."
"Call it a control group. You'll need to understand how BB works with someone who knows the weapon before improving its capabilities for someone who doesn't. What fun would there be if you don't continue mastering and finessing?"
You eyed Iida, watching his calm smile on his lips. You couldn't disagree when he was being agreeable.
"Fine, I concede," you spoke dryly. "Would you be available by the end of this week for an hour session?"
"It's a date," he replied, squeezing your shoulder tenderly before he opened his arm to you, inviting you to join him while you stared at this invitation.
"Want to meet more of my friends?" He asked smoothly while you took his arm in yours, standing next to the tall man with a grin.
"Why, I do declare Mr. Iida. You are too kind," you jested with a humorous accent.
"Please don't speak like that when I introduce you."
You only beamed at the man with a toothy smile before being chaperoned throughout the reunion, meeting a very drunk Chargebolt hanging off from his plus one still, a demure Shouto with his infamous Sidekick partner, and bypassing Ground Zero without a hello (and probably for the better). After knowing Iida for years back at the agency, he had opened up a part of his world to you, happy to introduce you to the eyes of Pro-Hero Society a little later than ever.

Crockett Marcel x reader D’accord (Oneshot)
Written by: @anotheronechicagobog
Warnings: Mature themes, America has HORRENDOUS gun laws, seriously as a Canadian I get second hand anxiety about your gun laws/judicial system (even though Canada’s is far from perfect)/healthcare system, April is not written well here but I’m gonna do a nice fic for her soon, pardon my French (literally, quite a bit of this fic is in French with translations)
Tumblr media
You’d been surprised to find another Francophone in Chicago. After you’d moved there from Quebec, you weren’t expecting much. Only a couple of “Oui, oui,” and “hon, hon, hon”’s from some unintentionally insulting Americans. So when, during your fifth shift, you swore in your native tongue “merde!” you’d been pleasantly surprised when Crockett had responded without missing a beat.
You’d shown him French-Canadian food, he’d shown you Cajun food, and you had each gained a confidant at med. And you’d both needed it. You were in a new country with very different social customs and laws, and April had kissed him while Choi was deployed leaving him a magnet for gossip. You’d both just needed someone to talk to, and speaking French with each other was just an added comfort.
“What did Doris say this time?”
“I don’t care that people are talking about me, I really don’t. Gossip is just part of hospital life and that’s fine, but I am so tired of being glared at and avoided. People aren’t even bothering to get to know me. I am just so tired about having to fight for a basic level of confidence in my colleagues for something that I didn’t even do! She kissed me, she just walked up and kissed me, how is this my fault?”
“I’m sorry Cherie.”
“I know. How was your day?”
“Anderson pretended to shoot at me again.”
“Seriously? You should report him to HR.”
“I don’t know, I don’t want to be overreacting.”
“He is pretending to have a gun and waving it at you on a daily basis because he knows that you are from a country with decent gun laws. What about the day he comes in with a real gun? And loaded? What if he actually shoots you? You need to report him, Cher.”
“Okay, I will. At the end of the day.”
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You sat at Molly’s away from the main group, shunned by your colleagues. “It was just a joke, Y/N, can’t you take a joke?” But it didn’t feel like a joke. Not to you. You already felt like you should be wearing a kevlar vest on a regular basis; you didn’t need to be made fun of for your very real fear. You were busy moping when someone plopped down in the stool beside you. “Mon journée a sucé. Dites-moi que le vôtre était meilleur.” (My day sucked. Tell me yours was better)
“Voyez-vous la foule de gens qui me regardent et qui parlent de moi là-bas?” (Do you see the crowd of people looking at me and talking about me there)
“Zut. J'espérais vraiment que ça irait mieux.” (Damn. I was really hoping it would get better)
“Moi aussi.” (Me too)
“The hell are you two speaking? Swedish?”
“... It’s French, Hermann.”
“If you say so Y/N... You guys want another round?”
“Yes, please, kind sir.” Trying to make a joke with the man everyone said had a heart of gold and a belly full of laughs at all times.
“Well, okay then. French people are weird.” Both you and Crockett sucked in a breath. Explaining was always the hardest part. “We are not French people. Crockett is Cajun, and I am French-Canadian.”
“Okay, I don’t know what Cajun is, but isn’t French-Canadian just a Canadian who speaks French?”
“Mon Dieu.” (My God)
“Sacre bleu (Damn it), Hermann. No, a French-Canadian is not just a Canadian who speaks French, and unless you want to start a war in a country you don’t even live in, I advise you to refrain from speaking in that manner again. And just for the record, a Cajun person is someone descended from Acadia settlers in Nova Scotia who left for Louisianna to flee the British.”
“... Okay. I’m sorry I asked.” You just held your breath as Crockett swore under his breath. You opened your eyes, grabbed your glass over bourbon and downed it. “Je sais que je viens juste d'arriver, mais je veux déjà partir.” (I know I just arrived, but I already want to leave)
“Allons-y alors.” (Let’s go then) Marcel threw cash down on the bar before you could argue and helped you put your coat on. “Avez-vous déjà mangé des tapas? J'ai entendu dire qu'il y avait un super endroit à quelques pâtés de maisons d'ici.” (Have you ever eaten tapas? Heard there is a great place a few blocks from here)
“Montrez le chemin.” (Lead the way)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There was a new hot button topic of gossip the next day at MED. You and Marcel. Of course, no one was that cordial. ‘He couldn’t have a nurse so he went for an intern?’, ‘What, she thought being an intern is too difficult so she’s hooking up with a doc so she doesn’t fail?’. None of anything they were saying was true. First of all, April kissed and then rejected him all while she was dating someone else, second, he wasn’t even your attending. You did your ED rotation before he got here. You were on your pediatrics rotation, and kicking ass at it. Third, he didn’t know anyone here besides you thanks to April, so who exactly was he gonna say ‘give her a pass for me’ to? You just rolled your eyes and continued working. At the end of the day, that was what would speak for you.
You hadn’t been very close to April, or anyone in the ED really, they’d all had their own drama going on the entire time you were there, so you just faded into the background. But now, April was making an effort to talk to you. You would have found it odd, had it not been at the time the rumours were really flying, and if you hadn’t seen the burning question behind her eyes. She was jealous. She damn well wouldn’t admit it, but she was. And you were angry at her, and at least you were grown up enough to admit that. She had hurt Crockett. Damaged his work relationships and reputation before he’d even started. So you acted like you enjoyed her company. You talked about literally anything that wasn’t Crockett Marcel. You watched as her questioning eyes grew more and more desperate. If she was going to come to you acting like a jealous girlfriend she should have had the decency to be honest. But she wasn’t. And Crockett was paying the price. So you tortured her a bit. It wasn’t that bad, honestly. Plus, what made her think she had any right to know about relationships you may or may not be in? But her feelings did become noticeable. To the other nurses, doctors, interns. Suddenly everyone was aware that she had kissed Crockett, and that Ethan wasn’t the only doctor she had feelings for. You felt bad for Crockett, he’d gotten sucked into a wormhole before he even knew his feet were leaving the ground. The same thing could be said for Dr. Choi’s fist.
You pushed back the curtain and marched over to Crockett who was too busy arguing with Maggie to notice you at first. “Have you gotten a CT done yet?”
“Oh- Dr. Y/L/N. Uh, let me check. Uh... Here.” Maggie handed you and a skeptical Will the tablet with Crockett’s head CT already loaded. The black and white image should have comforted you. It looked good, no injuries or anomalies. But you kept looking, you kept gripping the tablet no matter how much your knuckles, and fingers, and wrists were starting to hurt. “Cher?” You slowly looked up, Maggie and Halstead had left the room at some point. “You seein’ something Halstead didn’t?”
You didn’t answer. You didn’t have the voice to. Instead, you regarded his face intently. Choi had only gotten in a single punch, thankfully, so there was only bruising around his right eye. You moved to stand in front of him, standing in between his legs which were dangling off the side of the bed. “Cher?” The bruise was already purple, the section around the forehead turning black. Your lips pressed into a firm line. After setting the tablet on the end table you gently took Crockett’s face in your hands. Ignoring the rest of him, you gently drifted your fingers around the bruising. Your stomach sunk the more you looked at it. It wasn’t inflamed, there wasn’t any bleeding, his CT was clear. But you just couldn’t shake the weight in your gut. You didn’t even know what you were looking for. But you kept looking. “Cher.” No inflammation. “Cher.” No bleeding. “Cher.” Clear CT. “Cher.” Keep looking. “Cher.” Crockett delicately grabbed your wrist, finally grabbing your attention, bringing more than the bruise on his eye into your focus. “I’m okay, Cher.” His eyes were boring into yours, pleading for you to listen to him. He moved his hand from your wrist up overtop of your hand before intertwining your fingers together and leaning his face into your clasped hands at the side of his face.
“D’accord?” (Okay?)
“D’accord.” (Okay) He smiled gingerly. Still looking at you with soft eyes that made you melt he opened his mouth, you could tell that words in his native language were on the tip of his tongue, when the curtains in the room were pushed back suddenly. April stood, tall, strong, and with a look of utter betrayal on her face. No one in the room said anything, no one in the room breathed. Slowly, as if she were avoided a cornered coyote, April backed out of the room, her chest starting to shake, her eyes watering. Soon you were left alone in the room, your hand still wrapped in Crockett’s. Now in full view of the entire ED staff and gossip mill.

well - you decide. just write whatever you want honestly
ps: I hope you're doing well
Date Night with Nancy and Ryan! (A Little Late for Valentine’s Day, Oops)
Em. Em, I just – I could not decide whether I wanted Ryan or Nancy to be in discomfort, and my brain melted somewhere along the way. (It seems that some days, I can be very bi, and maybe a little too goofy.)
CW: indigestion, hiccups, burping, slight nausea, lady sickee(s), food mention, brief blood (drinking) mention, just silliness
__
Nancy put a hand on the blanket and reclined a little, her long, dark ponytail sliding over her bare should before swinging against her back. She was dressed optimistically for early spring, especially since the sun had been down for a couple of hours already, but spontaneous European getaways with your 200-year-old vampire wife called for the most romantic of clothes.
She shook her head slowly as lights – as many on the tower as they were stars in the sky, it seemed – sparkled in her eyes. A smile crossed her face as she remembered how Ryan had said “Picnic by the Seine”, and Nancy had thought it must have been the name of a new restaurant that had opened nearby. However, one flight and one limousine ride later, and here they were, basking in the Eiffel Tower’s glittering beauty while an actual accordion was being played somewhere downstream. (Although Nancy had carefully pinned the idea for a French restaurant with a picnic theme in her mind for later consideration.)
“Nancy Aldridge,” Ryan droned from a mere couple of inches away, where she was propped up by her elbow as she lay on her side. “Are you ponderin’?”
Nancy tilted her head back a little further. “I might be.”
“What are you pondering, love?”
Nancy smiled and reclined even more, until the back of her head was resting against Ryan’s thighs. She was still holding a glass of the crispest, most refreshing wine she’d ever tasted, and she held it with the stem pressed against her stomach as she looked up at her wife’s face.
“I was thinking that I must have married a mad woman.”
“Huh.” Ryan gently swirled her own wine glass, which was sporting a thin, black lipstick stain. She was drinking the same wine as Nancy, even though she usually opted for clear spirits when she wasn’t drinking purely blood. The low lighting of the city and the shadow of the embankment cast her sharp, pale features quite softly. “Mais je pense souvent la même chose.”
Nancy groaned. “You don’t always have to exhibit the fact that you’re multi-lingual, mon cheri.”
“Mon?” Ryan repeated in her usual Northern-Irish accent. She glanced pointedly down at her white blazer, and white shirt that was tucked neatly into cropped grey trousers. “Am I looking particularly masculine tonight?”
“Oh.” Nancy covered her mouth with one hand and giggled, causing herself to hiccup slightly. Her wine glass jumped along with her belly, but the liquid stopped sloshing just short of the rim. “It’s ma cherie, right? You know I’ve only learned whatever French I’ve heard in movies.”
“Mmm, the same way you learned to flirt from movies.”
“Says the one who took me to Paris for Valentine’s Day,” Nancy teased.
“Yes, because I know you’re partial to the odd cliché now and then.” With the hand that wasn’t holding her wine glass, Ryan ran the pads of two fingers along the curve of Nancy’s neck.
Nancy closed her eyes briefly and made a sound that was somewhere between a sigh and a purr, which quickly escalated into another hiccup. She opened her eyes again and carefully set her wine glass aside on the ground, one hand resting on her stomach.
The wine, along with the selection of cheese and the fresh bakery bread that she’d been munching on while they watched the lights and the boats from the riverbank, suddenly sat awfully heavily inside her. She hadn’t meant to eat quite so much, but the bread had been so crispy on the outside and bouncy on the inside, and each kind of cheese jolted her taste buds like they’d previously been in hibernation. And it didn’t help that the scenery so all-encompassing that she hadn’t paid much attention to quantity as she nibbled and drank.
The next hiccup was high-pitched, and brought the acidic sting of indigestion into her throat. Nancy clapped a hand over her mouth as the sound echoed through the little section of embankment that they had claimed for the evening.
Ryan removed her fingers from Nancy’s neck, instead resting a hand on her shoulder and peering down at her face. “Are you alright, Nan?”
“Yes, I believe so,” Nancy giggled from behind her hand, even as her stomach pinched slightly. “The wine, or – or something, isn’t sitting very well.”
She ran a hand tentatively down across her stomach, finding that it filled out the front of her cherry-red dress a lot more than it had when she’d first gotten dressed. It wasn’t tight or stiff with all of the food inside, but it was distinctly rounder. She felt a rumble beneath her hand, frowning and pursing her lips as she rubbed it away.
“Do you feel nauseous?”
“Oh - well, maybe a little.” Nancy smiled up at Ryan with some strain when her wife’s face betrayed a touch of concern. “Oh, I’ll be quite fine. Don’t look so stressed, cookie; you might end up with wrinkles for the rest of eternity.”
She reached up to tap Ryan on the end of her nose. Ryan looked back down at her with a lazy, contented look in her deep-yellow eyes. The Eiffel Tower was just out of Nancy’s sight, but its lights still flickered and softened the lines of Ryan’s jaw.
Unfortunately, that was the moment when another hiccup decided to wrack Nancy’s entire body, making her stomach slosh audibly before it bubbled down into quiet grumbling again.
“You’re really contributing to the ambience, love,” Ryan mumbled with the slightest ghost of a smile. She reached across with one hand to rub the top of Nancy’s belly.
“It’s not quite my fault,” Nancy half-chuckled, squirming and blushing slightly at the attention. “You probably don’t remember it, but indigestion can be quite unpleasant...”
A deep gurgle erupted under Ryan’s palm. Nancy pressed her lips together briefly before blocking a belch with the back of her hand. It, too, seemed to reverberate against the embankment the same way it had against her ribs, and Nancy’s heart sank as the distant accordion player ceased their playing for a moment.
“Oh, excuse me,” Nancy gasped, keeping her hand against her mouth as she listened for the music, waiting for it to begin again. “I think I scared away the accordion player.”
“I’m not complaining.” Ryan smoothed Nancy’s ponytail out over her knee. “We can enjoy some peace and quiet for a little while.”
“Mmm, that sounds nice, actually.”
Nancy sighed and rested her hands on her full belly again as Ryan went back to propping herself up with both arms. There was indeed a stretch of quiet along their stretch of the river, aside from the soft movements of the water and white-noise city traffic.
The indigestion passed by the minute, the pressure in Nancy’s gut easing as everything settled and the acidic taste was gone from her throat. Her diaphragm was no longer tense with the threat of hiccups, and she felt even more relaxed than she had all evening.
So when there was suddenly a loud gurgle, Nancy was as surprised as Ryan, who looked down at her again with a mock glare.
“That’s not exactly quiet.”
“That...” Nancy tightened her grip on her stomach out of instinct, though she was very sure that the sound hadn’t come from her. “That wasn’t me.”
She sat forward slightly, looking over her shoulder at her wife. Ryan’s gaze was already averted towards her own midsection, where the clasp on her trousers seemed strained in front of her tucked shirt.
“Apologies, love.” Ryan’s hand hovered near her stomach, like she was reluctant to touch it, but was perhaps considering it anyway. “It seems the wine isn’t agreeing with me either.”
Nancy pursed her lips as she frowned sympathetically. She glanced down the embankment, confirming that they were still alone, and that no boats full of tourists were about to come gliding past. “Undo your pants!”
Ryan scoffed. “You must be incredibly drunk, if you of all people are suggesting public indecency.”
“It’s not public indecency, is it?” Nancy laughed. “There’s nobody around, cookie. You’ll feel better, trust me. I’m wearing a nice, loose-fitting dress, but those pants look painful.”
While her features barely shifted, Nancy could read the doubt and hesitation that lingered on Ryan’s face.
“Fine, I’ll do it,” Nancy said, shifting onto her knees and reaching for the clasp below Ryan’s waist.
“What - don’t you dare!” Ryan tried to roll away from Nancy’s hands, when suddenly she froze, eyes widening as she sat forward.
Nancy froze too, carefully placing a hand on Ryan’s back and tilting her head so she could see her face. “Ryan, are you quite -?”
The vampire’s eyes widened even further as she opened her mouth, air rumbling audibly in her chest before it burst out of her. The belch ended abruptly, with Ryan covering her mouth with her palm. It was, unfortunately, a little too late to stifle what had already happened.
“Oh, wow.” Nancy covered her own mouth to disguise the terrible job she was doing of suppressing a grin. She patted Ryan’s back with her other hand. “What do you say, cookie?”
“What?” Ryan blinked and shook her head. “I - excuse me, love. Really. I don’t know what came over me.”
“Nothing wrong with a little ambience,” Nancy shrugged.
Ryan sighed and finally rubbed her stomach, prompting a growl from inside the distressed organ as she turned to look at Nancy. “I believe I’ve had enough ambience for tonight. Shall we head for the hotel, love?”
“Yes,” Nancy agreed, leaning in to peck Ryan on the cheek. “Allons-y.”
Ryan audibly gulped back another burp, frowning and peering curiously at Nancy as they slowly moved to tidy everything up. “Why do you know allons-y?”
Nancy shrugged again, gently resting the wine bottle and glasses inside the picnic basket. “Doctor Who reference.”
___
And to just quickly mention Charlie and Shayne’s first Valentine’s; I believe it’d be low-key, if they got to see each other at all. Their graduation exams are coming up soon and they’re still living far away from each other. Plus I haven’t even worked out at what point they’re “officially” going to be dating lol my timeline is currently one whole mess.

When The Sun Rises

Warning: Angst
A/N : This is a story about Tiffany and a bit of her backstory I hope you guys enjoy!
The cave was silent as the boys were in their nest sleep waiting for nightfall. Tiffany, who had been keeping Star and Laddie company, sat on the floor as they played dinosaurs together. "You know I remember when I was a kid I used to play with this baby doll, and I took it everywhere..." Star said, breaking up the silence between the three, "Of course that was 1971." the young girl giggled, her dark curls moving with every laugh she made. "Do you remember being a kid?" Laddie asked, looking up at the full-blooded vampire that was Tiffany. "I don't think you want to hear this 222-year-old drag on about her years as a kid..." she laughed, as she then noticed two sets of puppy dog eyes staring her down.
"Alright, Alright, I'll tell you. Now cuddle in close," Tiffany said, her arms outstretched for the two to lay in them.  "I'm going to warn you, though..." she looked between the two of them, "It's not a story for the faint of heart." She kissed Star on the nose and Laddie on the forehead.
"We don't care, right, Laddie!"
"Right!"
"Well, I was born in New York in 1771 to an enslaved woman named Isabella." She opened her locket, which held a picture of her mother. Both Laddie and Star looked at the picture, amazed by the older woman's beauty. "Was she a vampire too..."
"You'll just have to find out and see." she laughed, "You see, my story starts in Louisiana 1776."
"Like the revolutionary war?" Laddie asked.
"Precisely ."
Tucked away in the French quarters was a Plantation house of ivory white fixtures and magnolia trees lining the entrance to the door. Standing there was a  girl dressed in the rags of a slave who stood behind a tall man who seemed dressed as a general. "Tu es en sécurité ici.." he said gesturing for her to walk in. Surrounding here were vampires of high society of all backgrounds draped in rubies, emerald, and even sequence. Red velvet drapes pooled at her feet as there was furniture surrounding her, cups of porcelain, and pots of silver with cups of fine "wine" poured in them.
"Mon garçon tu m'as retourné aussitôt." said a woman, her golden curls pinned in a high roll as a blue feather plume stuck out from it, she was elegant, and she was beautiful,
She was " Countess Elizabeth Liru, ma fille.." she extended her pale hand to the young girl. Watching her flench at the gesture, Elizabeth could sense her pain already, a wounded bird not yet ready to fly.  " I'll not harm you a bit," she said, "Nay, will they..." gesturing towards the others that were gathering around. The younger girl only nodded as she slowly peaked from behind the man's legs.
" Ma fille, what do they call you..." her piercing blue eyes focused on the small brown ones looking back at her. The young girl's voice was hoarse from the endless nights of screaming and the pain from being passed down from person to person.
"Tiffany, Ma'am ..."
"Haven't you a last name..."
"No, ma'am..." she looked down at her dirtied-up feet.
"She looks like a Monroe..." a young girl around her age said, golden curls held back by a bow.
Tiffany smiled as she held onto a pearl earring that she always kept with her. Star took notice wanting to get a closer look at it. "So they picked your last name?" Laddie asked, shifting around on the floor. Tiffany gave him a nod, "They practically picked out my life." she sighed as Star looked down at him, "It must have been lavish, huh..."  Tiffany only laughed, "There was, but there was also the plague and smallpox, and dysentery."  she smirked, "Really gross stuff!" she laughed, " But I remember the good, like my first gown, it was pink and silk with..."
"Lace! countess lace is the returning rage all the women  of the court are wearing it!" Fatima said, sticking pins into the dress. Fatima had been a seamstress since the beginning of time and enjoyed what she did. Tiffany stood there giggling as she watched Elizabeth and Fatima argue about her dress.
" C'est de la merde putain!" Elizabeth growled.
"Ta mère était une pute !" Fatima rolled her eyes, continuing her creation, "I have you know I've dressed queens and kings!" as the months past Tiffany adjusted into the high society of vampires, from learning to play harpsichord to even hunting.
Sitting in front of her was a young woman who seemed to be of the age for maternal instinct. Tiffany sat next to the young lady as she began to cry. Although she wasn't a vampire yet, Elizabeth felt it was only correct that she'd know how to feed beforehand.
"Could you help, madame?" she asked, tears streaming down her face.
"What's wrong petite fille..."
"I'm lost... " Tiffany grabbed the young woman's hand, ushering her towards the alley, "I think my mama is right..." she watched as Elizabeth covered the victim's eyes, "Here..."  Tiffany watched as Elizabeth sunk her teeth into the woman's neck as life left her eyes and was soon stuffed into the carriage to feed the others.
"So you weren't a vampire yet?" Star questioned.
"Wasn't turned until I was 20 by my first love..." she swooned.
"Who was he... was he like David or Dwayne!" Laddie asked, getting excited.
"She was the one that named me Monroe... and she was much like Star, free-spirited and kind caring, but my did we get into trouble... " she caressed Star's arm. " 1787 I was 16, and she was my companion... We attended our first ball together."
Draped in the purest of silk stood Charlotte and Tiffany eyeing down eligible bachelors. Golden curly hair resting on the shoulder of brown skin sending butterflies down to her stomach. " Je m'ennuie Tiffany ..." Charlotte pouted as Tiffany quirked her head up,
"As am I... perhaps we'll illumine la ville, what do you think?" taking the young girl's hands in her own.
" You're as bright as the stars in a clear sky."
The nights in New Orleans were just about as beautiful in the day, but none compared to the beauty of
"Charlotte, do you ever want to be a vampire..."  Tiffany asked, placing roses in her hair,
"If it means you'll be my amant et compagnon."  she kissed her cheek, "Then who am I to destroy what the fates want, my beloved." she placed her hand on Tiffany's face. Her pearl's glowed in the night sky as the two stayed in a lover's embrace. They had been inseparable since they first locked eyes, but soon they'd become one.
Tiffany paused in her story as Laddie snored, carrying him to her nest for him to sleep. She heard the faint sound of Star wanting to ask a question,
"Did it hurt when you turned..."
"Oh mon Cherie that is another story for an-"
"Did it hurt when she left you..."
Tiffany stood still as she could feel the moment her body went cold, the moment that she received her dark gift. And the moment that she and her mother were the only two now left in the coven.
Even then, she had left her alone in the gracious plantation house with nothing but scattered coffins. The year was 1791, and she was lonely, barely out in society as if she were mourning the loss of everyone around her. Tiffany was alone and afraid until she heard a knock at the door.  Dressed in black was Tiffany, who was the lady of the house. As she opened the door, there stood a beautiful servant woman who handed her an invitation to a ball,
Something that she hadn't been a part of in years. Dressing in Elizabeth's old fineries and creating them into something of the century.  Tiffany felt reinvented as a creature of the night. When she walked into the ballroom, all eyes were on her,
But the oddity of a Creole beauty such as herself waltzing in the manor as if she owned it. Whisperers and conversations were running in her head as she saw the gossipers of society and the wrongdoers, though her life changed when she heard a faint voice behind her say. "Accorde-moi une nuit de plaisir pour ta beauté?"
"Tu flirtes comme un serpent..." Tiffany turned to see golden hair and ocean blue eyes staring down at her.
"And then what happened..." Star asked.
"That's a story for another time."

Chapter 28: Getaway
Tumblr media
“Stay safe, okay? No cliff diving or swimming with sharks or trudging through alligator infested swamps,” Edward warned as he leaned down to press another kiss to Bella’s forehead. The terminal at Sea-Tac was bustling around them, not paying much attention to the odd trio.
“I will,” Bella said, “Stay safe I mean.” Edward gave her a gentle smile and looked to Grace.
“Got everything you need?” he asked.
“I think so,” Grace held up an ancient tome of Shakespeare’s collected works.
“Good, I’ll see you two in four days,” he let a dramatic sigh and Bella gave a laugh wrapping her arms around his neck and kissing him again. Grace rolled her eyes and turned toward the gate waving a fruitless goodbye to the engrossed couple.
As they boarded the plane, Grace checked her phone before turning it off. Jake, as usual, had been MIA for the few days after her birthday when she turned him down not so subtly. She could tell from her rounds with Embry that he wasn’t taking it well but trying his best not to let it show. To her surprise, she had a new text. She tried to contain her excitement as she opened it.
SMS Text—8:32 a.m.: Paul
Have a safe flight.
“Whaaaat the fuck,” Grace groaned looking at her phone.
“What is it?” Bella said behind her. Grace snapped her phone shut and powered it down.
“Nothing.” Why was Paul texting her of all people! Of all people!?
Florida gave Grace an excuse to bust out her real summer wardrobe, one that she usually flaunted during the humid Oklahoma summers—crop tops and stringy tank tops and bralettes that she tried to tell her mom were bikini tops. Bella was a little overwhelmed by this suddenly exuberant, bare skinned version of Grace.
“Prude,” Grace teased her as she removed her spirit stone and laced a thin gold chain around her neck like a choker. It glittered against Grace’s perfectly sunkissed skin. The Florida sun was kind to Grace. Bella...not so much. Renee had slapped a giant wide brimmed sun hat on her on their first day there on the beach slathering her in sunscreen while Grace and her mother laid out in the sun.
“So, tell me about Edward,” Renee probed as they settled on the back porch of her bungalow that faced the silver sanded beach. The girls were each given a glass of white wine as a celebration for their graduation. Grace was already sneaking them extra glasses when she went back to the kitchen for a napkin, an ice cube, some lotion.
Bella’s explanation came in around the end of her second glass. “He’s…..” she looked at each woman for a moment and then with an exasperated huff she said, “He’s perfect. Really. I have no idea how this happened...to me.” Both Renee and Cherie let out little sighs of appreciation.
“Tell us more!” Cherie prompted. “What’s he like? What drew you to him? How did you two first meet?”
Grace smiled behind her third glass of wine and could only imagine the scene playing Bella’s head. What had drawn her to him? Mmm, the fact that he was a dangerously handsome and alluring vampire that had a thing for her blood? How did they meet? Oh, he saved her from getting smashed by a van and she just knew he was the one.
Bella looked to Grace for help, her mouth hanging open, not sure how to explain.
“They met in biology,” Grace replied easily, completely toasted, “Super romantic.”
“Biology is a very romantic subject. Huddled around a lab table. Dissecting frogs,” Renee teased.
“Mom,” Bella groaned.
“What?! He seems very nice from the very little that you tell me,” Renee said, giving her a smack on the arm.
“Tell me about it.” Cherie said, taking a sip of her wine.
“What does that mean?” Grace tested.
“Nothing, only that apparently you had a boyfriend out in La Push for like two months and I had no idea until you two had broken up. What was his name,” Cherie snapped her fingers together multiple times trying to recall his name, “Uh...uh.”
“Paul, mom,” Grace said, annoyed and downing the rest of her glass. She got up to get another, not even offering an excuse this time.
“Paul! Paul Lahote!” Cherie said triumphantly, “I knew the Lahote family when I was there. Nice people. Well, except for the dad. Jeremy? Jerry? He had a bit of an anger problem.”
Grace rolled her eyes in the kitchen and filled her glass close to the rim.
“My relationship with Paul is not...was not like Bella and Edward’s. They are madly in love with one another. We were just hanging out,” Grace said, shooting Bella an uncomfortable look. Bella watched her face and knew that that wasn’t true.
“Well you still could have told me,” Cherie said a little disheartened.
“Sorry, will do next time.” Grace said dismissively.
“What about Billy’s son? Jacob?” Cherie offered.
“Mom, no.” Grace groaned.
“What!? Charlie said you two were hanging out and I didn’t know if it was the same kind of hanging out that you do with Paul or?” She waggled her eyebrows at her daughter. Grace couldn’t help but laugh.
“Mom stop!” Grace said a smile cracking across her face, “It’s not like that. And anyway, we’re talking about Edward and Bella.” She motioned to Bella.
“There’s not really much else to tell, we’re together, we’re happy, I hope that continues….forever,” Bella breathed.
Renee looked at her daughter carefully and patted her thigh. The rest of the evening was spent talking about colleges, plans for the future, Cherie’s upcoming interview, and Renee’s adjustment to Florida life.
At a little past 1 a.m., Bella and Grace turned into bed and told their mom’s to leave the dishes for the morning. The two women had their arms around each other and were singing an old Fleetwood Mac song at one another and Grace gave a delighted snort.
“Cute.” She poured the half glass of wine left in the bottle into her glass and followed Bella to bed. Grace was definitely drunk. She had probably coasted through an entire bottle of wine by herself tonight without her mother knowing. Something about that gave her a freeing sensation. Bella went to the bathroom to shower and left Grace alone with her thoughts.
The words that her mother had mentioned at dinner swirled around in her head.
What was his name? Paul! That’s right! Paul Lahote.
Grace tried to shake her head of her last memory of her and Paul alone. He had undressed her and though he tried his best not to look, she could feel his burning gaze all over her. Now, in her drunken state it annoyed her.
What about Billy’s son? Jacob?
Grace let out an audible groan. Of course her mother would know about Jake. And what was worse, she knew her mother could see that she had blushed profusely at his name. A dead giveaway.
Why was this all so complicated? Did her ancestors have a death wish for her? Was this supposed to bring her some sort of triumph over adversity thing? Or was she truly just meant to be miserable forever? And why did she feel like she was doing this alone?
Her eyes lazily landed on her phone plugged in on the nightstand.
“Fuck this,” Grace said, grabbing her phone and dropping it on the floor accidentally before scooping it up, downing the rest of her glass and finding the right contact in her phone.
“Hello?” It was late here but it was only after 10 p.m. back in Forks. Of course he’d be awake.
“You really piss me off, you know that?” Grace said pointing to the air in front of her.
“Excuse me?”
“You have the absolute audacity to look at me the way that you do on a daily basis and think I won’t notice? You stare. STARE at me and I can see it you know? Some people would say that’s pretty creepy, that’s pretty stalker-ery of you, yah know?”
“Grace, are you drunk?”
“Listen to me! I know how this is supposed to go. Guy meets girl, girl falls for guy and then a bunch of stupid shit happens and now guy’s like ‘Hey, I’m gonna stare at you from afar and not fucking talk to you won’t that drive you crazy?’ And it does! It does! You did it. Congrats. You did it. It’s driving me crazy.”
“Grace, calm down for a sec—”
“Don’t tell me to calm down! Do I need to hold a sign? Helloooo, Do you need me to spell it out for you?”
“I have no idea what you’re talking—”
“Yeah right, you know. You know. You’ve known this whole time. You’ve talked to Ti’Hal, you know.”
“Grace, let’s just talk about this when you get home.”
“No! I want to talk about it right now. I want to tell you what I’ve been thinking these past three weeks. The thing I couldn’t say and up until now, I didn’t know if I should, but I’m gonna and you’re gonna hear it buddy. You hear me?!”
“Grace what are you doing?” Bella came out of the bathroom and was wrapped in a robe, her hair up in a towel, “Who’s on the phone?”
“Hold on, Bella’s here.” Grace turned drunkenly to Bella stumbling a little. “I’m just gonna tell him.” She said confidently, shaking the phone and slurring her speech now.
“Grace, let’s go to bed. Give me the phone,” Bella approached her like she was a rabid animal, knowing she needed to get that phone away from her before she made a mistake.
“I’m just gonna tell him!” Grace turned to yell into the phone, but Bella was quick, “I’m in love with you! You complete fucking—” the phone was already knocked out of her hands and Bella had slammed it shut.
“Are you nuts?!” Bella said, laughing a little.
“Probably,” Grace sighed sitting on her bed and flopping back onto the pillows.
“I’m holding onto this until morning,” Bella said, putting it in her robe pocket. But Grace was already asleep. Bella popped open her phone to look at the last outgoing call. Unsurprised, Bella gave a short laugh at the name glowing from the small screen: Jacob.
The next morning, Grace woke up to a splitting headache and an overwhelming thirst. She dragged herself up out of bed and splashed cold water her face before brushing her teeth and changing into a fresh set of clothes for the day.
As she wandered down into the kitchen, she found Bella washing up last night’s dishes at the sink.
“Goooood morning, drunk dialer,” Bella said, “Drink that, and take those.” She nodded to a talk glass of water on the counter and a couple of pills.
“Nice,” Grace said. “What do you mean drunk dialer? Have you seen my phone?” Grace chugging the water and swallowing the pills. Bella produced Grace’s phone from her back pocket and set it on the counter.
“I’d wait until you rehydrate before checking those texts.” Bella warned.
“What?” Grace grabbed her phone, weak memories coming back to her from last night. She pulled her phone toward her desperately and pulled it open quickly navigating to her inbox.
SMS Text—1:23 a.m.: Jacob
Grace, call me back. I need to talk to you.
I know you’re drunk but I thought you said...
Just call me back,
SMS Text—1:43 a.m.: Jacob
I’m sorry I’ve been staring at you, I like you.
Sue me.
Or don’t. Just call me back so we can talk.
SMS Text—1:47 a.m.: Jacob
You’re unbelievable you know?
You get drunk 2,000 miles away where I can’t get to you to drop this?
Not. Cool.
SMS Text—2:03 a.m.: Jacob
Text me or call me when you wake up.
We need to talk about this.
Grace threw her head back and groaned: “Fuuuuu—morning mom!” Her mother came around from behind her.
“Good morning my only daughter.” She planted a kiss on her cheek.
“You say only daughter like you have another daughter hidden away in a  basement somewhere.” Grace grumbled.
“Are you two ready to go kayaking in the Everglades? Renee’s quite the thrill seeker.” Cherie ignored her and looked to Bella.
“Yeah, should be fun!” Grace said, perking up. She pocketed her phone and resolved to bury her head so deep in the swamp that an alligator would surely come and tear her to pieces so she’d never have to face Jacob again.
Floating in the kayak was peaceful. Grace let herself drift down the thread of water choked by duckweed and low hanging spanish moss, the morning sun glittering on the water. Ahead, Renee and Cherie were chuckling about something and Bella was gliding quietly next to her.
Lost in her reverie, she didn’t realize Bella was next to her until their kayaks bonked together.
“Ooh, sorry,” Bella apologized, trying to steer herself straight. “Kayaks aren’t meant for the uncoordinated.” Grace laughed and gave the back of her kayak a nudge forward. “Thanks.”
“Yeah,” Grace said simply letting the sound of the water against her paddle lull her into another reverie. But it was short lived.
“So, do you want to talk about what happened last night?” Bella said, giving her a knowing look. Grace internally groaned.
“Not much to say that you didn’t already hear,” Grace said while she weaved her kayak around a particularly dense patch.
“Mmm I think there’s more to say. You’re in love with Jacob...but you don’t want to be with him because?” Bella prompted. Grace was silent, her eyes on the water, “He’s crazy about you you know. Even when you thought there was something going on between us..which to be fair he did have a crush on me for awhile...but even back then, you’d always come up in our conversations. In everything. He’d always ask about you.”
Grace had tried to block those early days out. The ones where she was so furiously drawn to Jacob and her stomach would flare angrily when she overhead him and Bella talking.
“It’s not as easy as just saying I’m in love with you.” Grace finally said.
“You had no trouble saying it last night when you were wasted,” Bella joked, ducking her head just in time to not get slapped in the face by moss. Grace shook her head.
“You don’t get it,” Grace said, “I’ve already done the heartbreak thing once. You were there, remember?” Bella gave her a pained look as she continued, “For whatever fucked up reason, my ancestors think it’s pretty funny to have no one imprint on me or me imprint on anyone, but I still get to fall in love with them. Do you know how excruciatingly awful it is knowing you love someone who can and would leave you if someone they were meant to be with came along? That you could never measure up to? Because of some impossibly, supernatural standard?” Grace was desperate now.
“Yes,” Bella said softly, casting her eyes down. Grace stopped at this. That made sense.
“Of course,” she said, “Bella, I didn’t mean it like that but, you can see why I’m hesitating to jump into anything with Jake. Not to mention, Paul and I just broke up like 3 seconds ago and I’m still trying to figure all of this,” she gestured to her whole body, “out.” Grace let out an exasperated breath. “It’s exhausting. And the worst part is….” she paused here not sure if she wanted to go there. But why shouldn’t she? Bella drifted in front of her, looking at her calmly, openly. Bella wouldn’t begrudge her her feelings, nor was she in danger of unwillingly sharing them with Jake since her mind was protected from Edwards.
She could tell her this here, in this calm swamp away from everyone, “The worst part is, I so so so want to be with him. Everything in my body, absolutely every part of me wants him. It’s terrifying thinking you’re staring at your stupid soul mate but knowing that they’ll be snatched away from you any second. I can’t live through that. Not with Jake. If we were happy and he--,” she choked here and took a minute to stop and compose herself, moving forward, her voice hard, “and he left, willingly or unwillingly, I don’t think I could come back from that. So I can’t risk it Bella, I can’t. And it hurts so much every single day to hold that resolve. It feels like it’s going against everything to hold myself back. But I just...can’t.”
After a few minutes paddling forward together, Bella looked at her sadly and nodded, “Okay.” Grace gave her nod, “I understand.”
“Good, now let’s talk about something else.” Grace bumped her boat into Bella’s.
“Well, since we’re sharing secrets…” Bella looked down shyly and Grace’s eyes shot toward her, “Edward asked me to marry him.”
“WHAT?!” Grace shouted as she rocked her kayak dangerously. Their mother’s who were further down the way looked over their shoulders and called out: “Are you okay?”
“Yeah! I think she saw a snake!” Bella called back. “Chill!” she said to Grace laughing. In a hushed voice Grace said:
“Marry?! As in til death do us part, rings and bells?” Bella nodded enthusiastically. “Woah.”
“Tell me about it.” Bella replied.
“So what did you say!? Did you say yes?! You’re 18!”
“I know I’m 18.” Bella replied, a tinge of annoyance not targeted at Grace layered in her voice. “And it’s not the first time he’s asked me. This is like a regular thing with him.”
“ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?” Grace said splashing her paddles around her dramatically.
“Grace!” Bella said, darting her eyes toward their mothers again who were laughing and paddling a ways up.
“This isn’t the first time?! What is he a glutton for matrimony?” Grace pulled a face and Bella laughed.
“I don’t know, maybe.”
“SO?! What did you say this time?” Grace begged now.
“I said….I said yes.” Bella said barely over the sound of splashing water with a shy smile on her face.
“Oh my GOD! BELLA!” Grace smacked her boat with her paddle.
“Girls!” Cherie called back to them.
“Yeah! Coming!” Bella called back as she tried her best to paddle away. Grace was after her in a second yelling “We’re not done talking about this!”
It was their last night and Grace was cuddled up on an outdoor sofa under a soft blanket with her mom. Grace was thumbing through her Shakespeare collection and her mom was finishing a crossword.
After a serene silence that Grace recognized as a common occurrence between the two of them, she heard her mom set down her pencil and look over at her.
“How have you been? Really, I mean.” Grace looked over at her slowly. This was a weird turn. Could her mom sense something was up? Grace squirmed a little and her heartbeat picked up.
“Fine, really. Forks is great and like I said, the council gifted me that run down house that I’m fixing up so it’s going well.” Grace repeated the same status update she had given her mother on their first day.
“But...I know it was hard for you to return to all of that...without your dad, I mean,” Cherie spoke quietly now.
“Mom.” Grace said softly coming closer to give her a hug, “It really has been okay. I’ve found a great family out there and it’s been good being back on the rez.”
Cherie clasped her hands around Grace’s shoulder and pulled her tight to her.
“I just worry about you Little Bird,” she whispered and kissed the top of her head. That had to be a coincidence. Grace sucked in a deep breath and looked up at her mother.
“I’m okay….really,” she said this gently but meant it. Tears were in her mom’s eyes and she nodded. “Get a grip mom,” Grace laughed and Cherie echoed her.
“I just miss you.” Cherie said.
“You’re always welcome to come and stay. And I’ll visit more,” Grace promised. Cherie was satisfied with this and pulled her back into a hug, rocking her gently as the waves crashed off the shore. Grace was almost whole.

I needed to hate you to love me (part 7)
Pairings KamilahxMC
Amy was walking down the streets of Paris with million things on her mind making her head spin. She winced as she waved her hand for a taxi to stop, not knowing what is waiting for her.
After a short drive she arrived in Serafine's apartment. She closed her eyes taking a shaky breath trying to take it all in. "Will you marry me and make me the happiest woman in the world?" she could hear that sweet voice in her head but then she could also feel Kamilah's hands on her body taking her in places she had never been before.
Groaning she headed for the door where Serafine greeted her with a big hug
"Bonsoir mon amie! Come in come in"
Amy did as she was told, she set her bag down taking a sit on the couch near the big window watching the stars shine bright above the Eiffel tower.
Serafine came back from the kitchen with a bottle of wine and two glasses, noticing Amy's longing expression
"I must say, it surprises me that you want to go through this" the french vampire admitted concerned but Amy just signed
"If we do this you need to tell me the reason, we only said we will do this just to--"
"Just to test my powers i know" Amy said looking away from Serafine's eyes
"But thats not why you are here is it ma cherie?"
Amy sat back on the couch closing her eyes as her grip on the glass she was holding got tighter
"No its not, its a messy story so buckle up"
___
The number you are trying to reach isnt available right now, please leave a message after the sound
Kamilah signed. Of course she won't pick up on her calls after what she heard. She wanted to explain to her, she needed to win her back.
Groaning she sipped another glass of neat whiskey looking at the night sky, that until her phone started to vibrate with a message.
Inside her she hoped it was Amy but she rolled her eyes seeing Adrian's name.
"Amy is with me and i think you two should talk things out, make this right"
Kamilah open her mouth ever so slightly surprised by Amy's decision, or so she thought.
___
Amy finished her story as Serafine covered her mouth with her perfectly manicured hand
"Oh mon amie" she said leaning in taking Amy in her embrace rocking her back and forth
"I didn't knew it was that serious"
Amy shrugged "Kamilah always hurt me, why change now?" Those words came out bitter, like a poison on the tip of her tongue
"I had no idea that Maria was..i mean Kamilah mentioned an Italian lover, i just never would have thought.." Serafine was at a loss of words, no matter what she would say Amy's pain would be the same.
"I am tired of secrets Serafine please help me" she knew she asked for to much, and she also knew the risks but she would explode if she didn't do something drastic
Serafine signed, her eyes full of sympathy watching how desperate Amy was being
"Alright, are you ready?"
Amy nodded closing her eyes, ready to discover the truth
___
Kamilah was walking to the location Adrian asked her to meet him but as she approached the bench she realized that's not Amy's body type, posture thats--
"Hello Kamilah, fancy meeting you here" Maria said with a coldness that even Kamilah was surprised by
"Adrian this isn't--"
"Amy. This isn't Amy say it, loud and clear for me to hear because I couldn't believe Adrian at first" Maria tried to step closer to Kamilah but Adrian put out his hand stopping her firmly
"Nothing was ever solved with violence" he said to both but Kamilah wasn't impressed
"Thats rich coming from a traitor like you" she scoffed focusing her gaze on Maria, who now had her fangs bare
"Ha! Him? A traitor! How dare you touch Amy??" Maria now dared to take a step forward but Kamilah didn't hesitate a second as she took another one herself
"You don't understand neither i expect you to, Amy and i--" but a laugh interrupted her
"You are hilarious Kamilah, you are the one who hit her when she was mad? The one who made her feel unworthy? The one who asked her to disappear? Of course you are" Maria gritted her teeth moving forward but Adrian pulled her back giving her a sympathetic look
Kamilah was momentarily speechless as she let those words settle in. Amy told her that, those exact words. For a second she was disgusted by herself but she quickly dodged those thoughts looking angrily at Maria
"And you are the fiancé she broke the engagement with aren't you? If you want to play this game i have something to say to you, last night she came to me, to my hug, to my room, not yours"
That was the last straw for Maria, she got free from Adrian's grip and lurched towards Kamilah.
She knew it wouldn't be that easy since Kamilah is more experienced but she didn't hesitate to try again and again
"This feels like child play" Kamilah said grabbing Maria throwing her near a tree
Maria wiped her mouth focusing her eyes on Kamilah. All her anger build in, images of her kissing Amy, of her touching her, confronting her, fucking her made her mind a blur
An angry growl escaped her lips as she grabbed Kamilah by the neck squeezing it tight. For the first time Kamilah felt lost, she could see now from up close her ex lover's eyes, the ones she once loved
"Killing you wont make a difference, but if i see you near Amy ever again i wont hesitate" Maria squeezed one last time before letting her go, Adrian let out a relieved sign
Maria took a deep breath soothing her clothes as Kamilah approached Adrian
"This was your third strike brother, and this isn't baseball you dont get four" her glare was dangerous, her red eyes two dark mirrors filled with pain
"I do what's right Kamilah, and whats--" but a phone ringing interrupted them
All of them looked at eachother not knowing who is who's until Maria picked it up
"Bonjour.. Serafine? What happened??"
"Its Amy mon amie hurry!!"
Maria's eye's widened with horror listening to every word her friend was telling her, beside her Kamilah and Adrian stood confused but they knew well Amy is in trouble
