When I slowly opened my eyes, the lovely face that filled my vision inadvertently made my mouth go slack.
Some time had passed since we had returned to Banmaden. My days had been filled to the brim with preparations for the future of the new Founders, but only this small moment, the moment when I got to look at the woman’s sleeping face, could ease my mind.
I lightly stroked her hair so as to not wake her up, but still, she stirred.
“Carla…”
When she called my name, I briefly thought she had woken up, but then her breathing settled once more. She was somehow still sound asleep. She was smiling, too. She must have been having a pleasant dream.
I wondered what she was dreaming about. I had been curious about it for a while… I was determined to ask her once she woke up.
In truth, I did not want to look away from her sleeping face just yet. For a little while, I gave in to that thought, and continued to stroke her soft hair for a little while longer.

After what felt like a long time, she slowly stirred to life, and her still unfocused eyes looked in my direction.
Her sleeping face was already lovely, but her face after she had only just woken up had its charms as well. I decided that it was because I was the only one she showed those kinds of faces to… Although, for me, that was quite a childish sentiment to have.
I would not dare to tell Shin that these were the thoughts of the former King of the Founders, even if my life depended on it.
Her drowsy voice interrupted my thoughts.
“Mm… Carla…?”
“You’re awake?”
She blinked a few times when I called out to her, but then, a soft smile played on her face.
“I am… Good morning.”
“Morning.”
I inclined my head and lowered my hand that had been stroking her hair. I shot my burning question at her right away.
“You were mumbling my name in your sleep earlier… What were you dreaming about?”
“Huh…!?”
Her sleepy eyes snapped wide open in an instant. Her cheeks became redder by the second.
I had already had a hunch, but her reaction proved my hypothesis. Nevertheless, it would not be so bad to hear the words coming from her own mouth.
“What’s wrong? Can you not tell me?”
Having caught her in her embarrassment, she nodded. Her face was still bright red, which only made me want to make her say it out loud even more… I wondered when she would learn.
I embraced her and pulled her close, my lips at her ear.
“That won’t do. I will not let you go until you tell me.”
“That’s…!” She tried to struggle, but I kissed her. Her body immediately stilled in surprise.
“Are you really intent on defying me?”
When I grinned at her, she held her tongue. Then, after a brief moment of hesitation, she opened her mouth to speak.
“I dreamt of you and I… and our child, playing together.”
My breath caught in my throat. I had assumed I was involved in the dream, but to think that she would dream of a child…
Caught off guard by her answer, my gaze drifted to her stomach.
A small life. I could feel it inside of her body as I held her in my arms. It was the Founders’ wish, but most of all… it was the proof of our love.
When I thought about it, the child would only make the woman even more dear to me. To think I would be having these thoughts–truly, this woman was deeply important to me.
I laughed abruptly, and she craned her neck to look at me in confusion. As careful as though I might break her body otherwise, I wrapped my arms around her a little tighter.
“In the near future, that dream might become reality.”
The woman smiled at me happily. She wrapped her arms around me, too.
“I suppose so. Let’s do lots of fun things together when the child is born.”
“...Yes. I promise.”
What would become of the Demon World after this? And what would become of the founders? Much was still uncertain about the future.
At least, the light of a new life was waiting for us. When I thought of it that way, my anxieties dissipated.
As I reflected on my warm feelings, I made a promise in my heart–that I would never lose the two sources of hope that I now held in my arms.

It's something that I just thought of right now, but is it possible that the Zanpakutō belonging to the early 13th Division were modeled after Pisces and its ruling planet Neptune? Captain Ukitake's Sōgyo no Kotowari may allude to the constellation of Pisces. It is a constellation in which the tails of two fish are tied together with a string (or ribbon), and Sōgyo no Kotowari also has the hilt of two swords linked together with a cord.
On the other hand, Kaien's Nejibana is a three-pronged spear. It is a symbol of Neptune (Poseidon in Greek), the god of the sea who rules over the planet Neptune.
I have a fair amount of confidence in this theory as there is too much overlap, but what do you think? Also, please let us know if there are any source materials or inspirations which formed the image of Captains and Vice-Captains (any others are fine too).

Either way, I wanted to draw Pernida's hood tearing apart when they turn into a left hand.

Unlike the one used by Ichigo, Isshin's Getsuga Tenshō is a technique that gathers fire and Reiatsu into a slashing attack which is used at close range.
There are no opportunities for fellow Captains to learn each other's technique names outside of fighting together and training together.
In the Soul Society arc, Ichigo doesn't mention the name Getsuga Tenshō in front of anyone but Byakuya.

According to Ulquiorra's monologue, it seems that the fully Hollowfied Ichigo had used Sonído which is Hohō for Arrancar. In The Past arc from volume 36, it appears as though Kensei, who had progressed in Hollowfication, also utilized Sonído in the same way when he instantly moved behind Rabu. Could this be an indication that as a Shinigami's Hollowfication spreads from a state of being the mask alone to one where it affects the whole body, their existence grows closer to an Arrancar?

8th May 1945: Victory in Europe Day
1653 – Claude-Louis-Hector, Duc De Villars, born, (d.1734). De Villars was the last great general of Louis XIV of France and one of the most brilliant commanders in French military history, one of only six Marshals who have been promoted to Marshal General of France.
The sharp- tongued Charlotte Elizabeth, the second wife of the homosexual Phillipe, Duc d'Orléans, left behind a collection of letters, many of which reveal her passion for sniffing out the private affairs of the court homosexuals. Of her favorite subject she wrote,
"Our heroes take as their models Hercules, Theseus, Alexander, and Caesar, who all had their male favorites. Those who give themselves up to this vice, which believing in Holy Scripture, imagine that it was only a sin when there were few people in the world, and that now the earth is so populated it may be regarded as a divertissement. Among the common people, indeed, accusations of this kind are, so far as possible, avoided; but among persons of quality, it is publicly spoken of; it is considered a fine saying that since Sodom and Gomorrah, the Lord has punished no one for such offenses."
One of the gay "persons of quality" who flits through the duchess's letters is the above-mentioned duc de Villars, one of the greatest generals in French history and marshal of France under Louis XIV. He is reputed have been a member of "a secret society of sodomitical military men" organized by Charlotte Elizabeth's husband, the Duc D'Orléans, brother of Lous XIV.
1763 – Police storm a lavatory in Amsterdam and arrest two men who were kissing. Two women had turned them in. Barend Jansen and Jan Heemskerk were arrested for having sex in a public toilet. Heemskerk was executed, and Jansen was tortured and received a twenty-year prison sentence.
1805 – King George III of England pardons sailor Bartlett Ambler of a sodomy conviction due to the questionable veracity of his alleged partners.
1828 – Jean Henri Dunant, aka Henry Dunant Swiss businessman and social activist, born (d.1910) He published his Un Souvenir de Solferino (A Remembrance of Solferino), a description of the sufferings of the wounded at the Battle of Solferino and a plea for organizations to care for the war wounded. There was an immediate response, out of which grew the Red Cross.In 1901 Dunant shared the first Nobel Peace Prize. It has long been suspected that after his death, Dunant's family not only bowdlerized the philanthropist's memoirs, but outright falsified them through the addition of material not written by Dunant himself. He is widely believed to have been homosexual, but there is no documentary proof.
However, in the 1960s, Karl Meir aka "Rolf" of the homosexual cultural periodical Der Kreis wrote,
A few years ago there was an announcement in the press that in Norway about 200 letters had been found that Henry Dunant had written to a high officer ... and the German periodical "Der Eigene" had indicated already in 1924 another exchange of letters between Dunant and the Comte de M., and that their content allowed one to conclude the same-sex disposition of Dunant.
Roger Durand, of the Henry Dunant Society, says,
His homosexuality is a hypothesis that can neither be confirmed nor denied. One thing is certain: in 19th-century Geneva homosexuality was regarded as a huge handicap and was therefore never openly acknowledged. That being said, a man's greatness is not measured according to his sexual orientation.
1920 – Tom of Finland (né Touko Laaksonen) best known by his pseudonym (d.1991) was a Finnish artist notable for his stylized homooerotic and fetish art and his influence on late twentieth century gay culture. He has been called the "most influential creator of gay pornographic images" by cultural historian Joseph W. Slade.
Over the course of four decades he produced some 3500 illustrations, mostly featuring men with exaggerated sex traits: heavily muscled torsos, limbs, and buttocks, and large penises. Tight or partially removed clothing showed off these traits, with the penis often visible as a bulge in tight trousers or prominently displayed for the viewer. His drawings frequently feature two or more men either immediately preceding or during explicit sexual activity. Nearly all of his characters were versatile and obviously enjoyed the bottom as well as the top role in sexual intercourse.
Laaksonen was born and raised by a middle-class family in Kaarina, a city in southwestern Finland, near the city of Turku.
He studied in Turku and in 1939 he moved to the country's capital Helsinki to study advertising, he also started drawing erotic images for his own pleasure. He first kept his drawings hidden, but then destroyed them "at least by the time I went to serve the army". His drawings were based on images of masculine laborers he had seen from an early age. The country soon became embroiled in the Winter War with the USSR, and then formally involved in World War II. He was conscripted in February 1940 into the Finnish Army. He served as an anti-aircraft officer, holding the rank of a second lieutenant. He later attributed his fetishistic interest in uniformed men to encounters with men in army uniform, especially soldiers of the German Wehrmacht serving in Finland at that time. After the war, in 1945, he returned to studies at the art college.
Laaksonen's style and content in the late-1950s and early 1960s was partly influenced by the U.S. censorship codes that restricted depiction of "overt homosexual acts." His work was published in the beefcake genre that began in the 1930s and predominantly featured photographs of attractive, muscular young men in athletic poses often shown demonstrating exercises. Their primary market was gay men, but because of the conservative and homophobic social culture of the era gay pornography was illegal and the publications were typically presented as dedicated to physical fitness and health. They were often the only connection that closeted men had to their sexuality. By this time however Laaksonen was rendering private commissions so more explicit work was produced but remained unpublished.
In the 1962 case of MANual Enterprises v. Day the United States Supreme Court ruled that nude male photographs were not obscene. Softcore gay pornography magazines and films featuring fully nude models, some of them tumescent, quickly appeared and the pretense of being about exercise and fitness was dropped as controls on pornography were reduced. By the end of the 1960s the market for beefcake magazines collapsed. Laaksonen was able to publish his more overtly homoerotic work and it changed the context with "new possibilities and conventions for displaying frontal male nudity in magazines and movies." Laaksonen reacted by publishing more explicit drawings and stylized his figures' fantastical aspects with exaggerated physical aspects, particularly their genitals and muscles.
He is best known for works that focused on homomasculine archetypes such as lumberjacks, motorcycle policemen, sailors, bikers, and leathermen. His most prominent comic series are the "Kake" comics, which included these archetypal characters in abundance.
1925 – Rodolfo Morales Mexican painter, born (d.2001) was a Mexican surrealist painter best known for his brightly colored surrealistic dream-like canvases and collages often featuring Mexican women in village settings. He was notable for his restoration of historic buildings in Ocotlan and, together with Rufino Tamayo and Francisco Toledo, helped make Oaxaca in Southern Mexico a center for contemporary art and tourism.
Using income from his art he founded the Rodolfo Morales Cultural Foundation devoted to restoration of buildings in his hometown of Ocotlán. In all, he funded the restoration of fifteen churches including the 16th century Convent of Santo Domingo and a 17th century church in the town of Santa Ana Zegache, as well creating cultural spaces throughout Oaxaca's central valleys. His most important restoration project was the former convent of Ocotlan which was converted into a municipal complex.
Morales ensured that much of the restoration work done was by local women who, by developing skills, were able to later find employment elsewhere. His other notable Foundation work included setting up a computer room for local youths to learn information technology skills, providing materials to aspiring artists, producing of prints to help Frente Común Contra SIDA educate against the spread of AIDS and planting new copal trees not only to enhance the landscape but also to provide wood for the creation of hand-painted animals.
Whilst continuing with his art, he would begin each day by making a small collage which he would sell to raise money for his Foundation.
Up until his death in 2001, both he and Toledo had been regarded as Mexico's greatest living artists for over a decade. He died, aged 75, in Oaxaca from cancer of the pancreas and his remains placed in his restored Convent of Santo Domingo, in Ocotlán, Oaxaca.
1928 – William Wuttunee was a lawyer, activist and humanitarian from Red Pheasant First Nation in Saskatchewan, who co-founded what today is known as the Assembly of First Nations. The first indigenous lawyer in Western Canada, Wuttunee also helped to secure voting rights for status Indians.
Wuttunee was an early champion of LGBTQ rights, defending the last person in Canada to be prosecuted for homosexuality – his work helping to lay the groundwork for Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau's later famed phrase in 1969, "the state has no place in the bedrooms of the nation."
One of Canada's true pioneers, he began in humble circumstances. Raised on the reserve in a family of 15, Wuttunee would later tell his children he survived the residential school system by immersing himself in books. After moving to Battleford, Sask., as a teenager, he won a scholarship to attend McGill University.
His presence there would give him the distinction of being one of only two First Nations people to attend university at that time; years later, he would also become the first indigenous lawyer to appear before the Supreme Court of Canada.
"People from around town filled up a trunk with clothes for him to take to Montreal," said Nola Wuttunee, the third of his five children with first wife, Bernice, of her father's departure for McGill. "He got there on a freight train, travelling with the cattle.""I remember applying for my first job and the guy said, 'What are you?' " Wuttunee said in 2001 of early challenges. "I said, 'I am an Indian.' He said, 'I can't hire an Indian.' "
His outspokenness and sometimes controversial views, however, often made him a polarizing figure. In 1971, Wuttunee's book Ruffled Feathers: Indians in Canadian Society, did indeed cause problems: for a time, he was banned from no less than 13 reserves.
He was also a charismatic, multilingual orator who impressed those lucky enough to hear him speak. In 2009, Wuttunee travelled with the Assembly of First Nations to the Vatican, to receive an apology from Pope Benedict XVI for the harm done to native children in the residential school system.
He died in Calgary on Oct. 31 of heart disease at the age of 87.
Christian XXX as Maxx Diesel
1974 – Christian XXX or just Christian is a pornographic actor. He was known as Maxx Diesel at the beginning of his career when he performed in gay porn. Since his short stint in gay porn (he performed in a total of 12 scenes), he has appeared in over 1000 scenes in straight porn and won three AVN Awards. He was the main producer/director for the company Naughty America from 2009-2011 as well.
Christian was born in Burlington, Vermont and soon after moved to the San Antonio, Texas area with his family. Both his parents were in the U.S. Air Force and he has two younger brothers. Christian attended Tarleton State University and played basketball there for one year before returning home and transferring to University of Texas at San Antonio and walking-on their basketball team. He graduated in 1997 with a bachelor's degree in history. He went to graduate school and was an assistant basketball coach at University of the Incarnate Word for a year and then at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College. He returned home to finish his coursework in education and had a series of teaching jobs. He lived in Lake Jackson, Texas, coached basketball, and taught history at Brazoswood High School for 2 years before moving to Las Vegas, Nevada to become a nightclub bouncer in 2002.
He was dating the pornographic actress, Lovette, and performed an amateur production with her in 2000. In 2003, he contacted director Chi Chi LaRue, in an attempt to enter the heterosexual pornography industry. LaRue, who also directed gay pornography for Falcon Entertainment, asked Christian if he would be interested in performing in homosexual movies instead. Christian agreed since male performers tend to be paid more in gay pornography (2000 dollars for one scene) compared to straight. Christian signed an exclusive contract with Falcon Studios working under the name Maxx Diesel.
In 2004, he started performing heterosexual scenes under the name of "Christian XXX". His resume included performing with transsexuals and females with strap-ons. He has said in interviews that he enjoyed his time working in gay porn but employers in the straight porn industry made this very difficult to continue doing. Some female performers have refused to work with Christian after hearing of his gay performing past and ongoing transsexual work.
He has a blog up about his life in the business titled, Christian Sings the Blues. He explained the title as a joke, "I complain about my life where I get laid every day and make good money and only work about four hours."
1975 – The Florida Supreme Court dismissed charges against a group of men who were arrested in a Miami bathhouse, citing freedom of assembly, privacy, and equal protection of the law.
1976 – "H" aka Ian Watkins is a Welsh singer, dancer and stage actor, known for being one of two male backup singers of the British pop group Steps. He has said that "H" stands for "hyperactive", describing his character.
"H" spent his teenage years with Spotlight Theatre Company. Before joining Steps, he worked as redcoat for Butlins holiday parks. After Steps split in 2001, he formed a duo, H & Claire, with fellow ex-Steps member Claire Richards. They released three singles and an album, and then went their separate ways. In the following years he appeared in many British TV productions.
On 3 January 2007, Watkins came out as gay, in an interview with The Sun newspaper. His interview was published the same day he entered the Celebrity Big Brother house. During his tenure with Steps, Watkins was involved in a relationship with the group's manager, Tim Byrne.
On 11 March 2008, Watkins presented a documentary about growing up gay in Wales, shown on BBC Wales. Whilst filming for this, Watkins interviewed Christian Voice leader Stephen Green. During the interview Green compared him to Jeffrey Dahmer.In November 2013 it was reported that Watkins had been receiving hate mail through Twitter from people confusing him with Lostprophets singer Ian Watkins, who had recently pleaded guilty to 11 sex offences, including two charges of attempting to rape a baby. Watkins received a public apology in court from E! Entertainment Television for using a picture of the pop star to illustrate a story about the paedophile musician. Watkins was also said to be "furious" and pursuing legal action after his image appeared next to stories about the convicted paedophile through searches on Google News.
1989 – Nyle DiMarco is an American actor and model. He is the first and only deaf contestant to appear on America's Next Top Model.
DiMarco was born in Queens, New York. He comes from a deaf family with his parents, both of his brothers and his grandparents all born deaf. He grew up in Frederick, Maryland and graduated from Gallaudet University with a degree in Mathematics. DiMarco lives in New York City. He considers American Sign Language (ASL) to be his native language but is proficient in lip reading and nonverbal communication.
DiMarco had been doing freelance modeling for about a year before he was contacted by America's Next Top Model producers. They scouted the 26-year old via his Instagram without realizing he was deaf.
DiMarco acted in a leading role for an independent film In the Can under ASL Films production, a movie told in American Sign Language with English subtitles. He played the recurring role of Garrett Bandgucci in Switched at Birth on the ABC Family network.
DiMarco doesn't consider himself to be "disabled" by his deafness and sees his high profile as an opportunity to create awareness to the hearing world. He views deafness as an advantage in modeling because he is accustomed to conveying messages without speaking. He also feels that deaf roles should be played by deaf actors.
During an episode of ANTM, DiMarco stated that he has a fraternal twin brother named Nico, who has red hair and that they do not look alike. In Oct, midway through the season of ANTM, DiMarco was asked about his sexuality. He responded that he views himself as sexually "fluid."
When asked for a short signing tutorial on usable phrases for gay men he gave several examples. Here is one of them:
1990 – Randy Phillips is an airman of the United States Air Force whose coming out in September 2011 following the repeal of the "Don't ask, don't tell" policy (DADT) garnered media attention. DADT had banned the service of openly gay members in the United States Armed Forces and Phillips used YouTube, under the alias "AreYouSuprised", to anonymously seek support and to document his life under the policy over several months. His videos included his coming out to his father and mother, which coincided with Phillips showing his face for the first time, and the accidental discovery of his anonymous web presence by his co-workers.
There was a wave of video postings when the military anti-homosexual policy ended, with many pointing to Phillips as their model or inspiration. The timing of his revelations to his family at the end of the military's restrictions on service by homosexuals made him, in one journalist's estimation, "the poster boy for the DADT repeal." Another wrote: "Phillips has masterfully used social media and good timing to place himself at the centre of a civil rights success story."
Born Steven Randy Phillips in Eclectic, Alabama, on May 8, 1990, Phillips graduated from Elmore County High School in May 2008. His high school sports were baseball and wrestling. He began a six-year enlistment in the U.S. Air Force on March 17, 2009.
At the time, the U.S. military permitted homosexuals to serve in its ranks under its "Don't ask, don't tell" policy established in 1993, which limited service by homosexuals to those who did not reveal their sexual orientation. A statute repealing the DADT policy was enacted in December 2010, with the change in policy delayed until military and government officials certified that plans were in place for its smooth implementation. The date when homosexuals could serve openly in the military remained uncertain and Congressional efforts to prevent the change in policy from going into effect continued during the spring of 2011.Phillips continued his gay rights activism after the end of DADT by posting videos in support of the It Gets Better Project and National Coming Out Day. His story was repeated in news coverage of the first anniversary of the repeal of DADT in December 2011 and in year-end reviews of the news of 2011. When Andrew Sullivan praised the year's progress in civil rights for gays and lesbians, he used an image of Phillips on the phone to his father to illustrate "gay people and their families and friends in daily acts of courage and candor and conversation."
When YouTube included Phillips' video coming out to his father on its list of the "Top Videos of 2011", CBS News described it as "one of the best examples of humanity broadcast to the video site's community."
1996 – South Africa becomes the first nation in the world to explicitly prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation in its constitution.
2010 – Lithuania: Baltic Pride parade takes place amid violence by anti-gay protestors. With the number of police officers in the street almost outnumbering the participants the Latvian capital of Riga hosted its most successful and peaceful Gay Pride Parade to date. Police presence was heavy as religious groups and some Neo-Nazis had announced their resistance to the Baltic Pride in Riga ahead of the event. But the counter demonstrators were not to be seen and between 300 and 400 people marched through the cobblestone streets of the Latvian capital.

The star trek food cubes are haunting me again. I want to put them in my mouth.
So here are the theories on how to make them.

Tofu, diced.
Marinate in liquid(s) of choice (e.g, lemon juice). Cover with cornstarch. Add red, green or yellow food colouring to blocks as required. Roast and serve.
Suggestion: marinate the cubes in different flavours to correspond to their colours.
Prototype recipe
Melon, diced.
This one is low effort: Red cubes= watermelon, other cubes= melon. Allegedly, the original on-set props *were* dyed melon (but I don't have a solid source), so this may be the best fit.
Royal icing/icing sugar.
This one is just candy: make 3 batches of royal icing, one red, one yellow, one green, dice when half-set and leave to fully set.
Cake, fondant.
Possible, if we assume Lt. Riley was drinking milk in that scene from The Conscience Of The King (Pictured above). This one is also easy to make, assuming you don't object to fondant.
Jelly, cubed.
(Jell-O). Dishonourable mention; this one is too see-through for my liking.

Potatoes, Diced.
Roast Potatoes, Diced
This idea comes from CoolPete.com, and my first thought was "please don't put food colouring on the potatoes".
Cool Pete provided a photo of the finished results, and the natural colour of the potato offsets most of the food colouring to make them all look greener than intended. The red food colouring comes out the best. I suppose colour theory dictates that you should use blue food colouring on the potatoes in order to get green cubes, but don't quote me on that.
With this in mind, I'm going to tentatively suggest a horrible idea:
Roast Sweet Potatoes (Yams), Diced
In theory, the redness of the yams might allow the Yellow Food Dye to look more yellow, and make the red more vibrant. There's a greater chance that you will be able to use the green food colouring without it looking blue here, but use at your own caution, because the finished product may look oversaturated. Perfectly edible, but potentially unappetizing (the first bite is with the eye).
Closing Comments:
For uniformity of texture, tofu or melon seems to be the best way to go. If we are to believe that the "food cubes" in-universe are supposed to be fruit (according to that same trekbbs thread, they're placed in glasses in Journey To Babel), then watermelon and cantaloupe are begging for our attention, but we must ignore them, for melon alone does not a meal make!

This isn't the end, merely the beginning. I will test out a couple of variations of these meals and report back on which one I think is best.
My current hypothesis is that the tofu will allow for the most variation, as you can marinate it in naturally-colourful liquids of various colours. If it's colourful enough you could forgo the food colouring altogether, or marinate it in something colourless (like salted water) and then add seasonings and food colouring if you wish.
I intend to start by using tofu with diced potatoes as a side, though if I test out too many cube-shaped meals at once, my household will get suspicious, so I need to space this out over the course of a few months. I'm going to use the tag #Food Cube Trek, so filter it if that's not something you'd like to see.

I've been rereading the series since hotd and Roose going "even here, in my happy house of Harrenhal" is goddamned hysterical. Most haunted, cursed castle ever and he's doing a cute little alliteration for it. Addams family vibes.
Nskfjdjs i love his little dialogue quirks...
It’s fun to compare scenes where he talks to people above him/in tense situations/in public (like scenes with king robb), with scenes of him talking in private to people that are beneath him or that he clearly has the upper hand against... He watches his words a lot in the former and comes across polite and cold/serious (in the very high stakes red wedding chapter he barely says anything), but when he talks to the latter (scenes with Jaime, Ramsay, Theon...) he gets somewhat of an attitude since he can afford to be himself more as there are less repercussions if the other person is offended (most clearly you can see it when he talks to Reek).
He definitely has a frequent sense of humor, though often the things he says are only funny to himself, since he usually jokes about serious situations or offensive/insulting things, and sometimes even about things the other person doesn’t know about yet

So as I established in a previous post, King Boo in the Mario games is supposed to be the same one we see in the Luigi's Mansion games. Now many people have a problem with the basic King Boo design we see in games like Super Mario Wonder, and love the Luigi's Mansion version. I have come up with a hypothesis on how both designs could work. So what's the main difference between the usual King Boo we see and the Luigi's Mansion version? It's that the Luigi's Mansion version has a gem in it's crown. I believe the gem gives King Boo his Luigi's Mansion appearance, why I say this you may ask? Well the gem he wears seems to have some special powers to it, and probably amplifies King Boo's powers. Also, in Luigi's Mansion 1 King Boo has a red gem in his crown, and as seen in the image below his eyes glow a reddish color. In games that come afterwards King Boo's eyes glow purple and he has a purple gem in his crown. So I believe whatever these gems are, they are affecting King Boo. King Boo has also had his crown and by extension a gem taken away from him, which if I am correct would revert him back to his original appearance. From there he shows up in other games, kart races, and sports events until he can get his gem back and start up another Luigi's Mansion game. And of course break out of the painting as well. This also may explain why King Boo and his Boos aren't shy in Luigi's Mansion like they are in games like Mario Wonder. If the gem amplifies his power then it may also take away that shy weakness, and it also may affect the other Boos in the Mansion. We do know from Professor E. Gadd that a Boo's powers increase when they gather in large groups.

Dean Winchester is the real evil god of SPN
So... the most important beings in the universe are all obsessed with Dean Winchester. Death was fascinated with him and wanted to have little personal dates with him. God is obsessed with him (and his brother) more than literally all the beings in all the infinite numbers of universes. God's sister finds him irresistibly attractive. For very little reason at all most people just want to die for him. King of hell, an angel, and a vampire were all in love with him while he had little to give back, if not down right abusive.
My hypothesis: "Chuck" the evil God is a red herring. What omnipotent God let himself look like a petty whiny ineffective loser? Dean Winchester is the real evil God of spn. He wrote himself into the story, so he gets to be the center of the universe, always the hero, triumphs over the most formidable enemies, commands adoration from the most amazing beings, and punishes those who deviates even slightly from that absolute devotion.

Anyways so if they say that the festival of corruption/match with Gadam vs Captaons is on the 15th November and Cassian did that bc his exams were the next day, which would be the 16th of November. CSATS irl Korea is on the third week/Thursday of November, and vtk is mostly 21st century.
So here are the years vtk could fit into:
If we take a look at the usage of phones in vtk, they mostly use modern touchscreen mobile phones, and during the 2000s, they weren't in full use by the public, so we can rule out 2000 and 2006.
The years that vtk could be set in is from 2017-2034. This is just a rough estimation as
Vtk is not the same world as ours, it is fictional
Me ruling out 2000s may be incorrect
This is just an estimation and as of the moment I'm writing this, we do not know how far our society may change in the future so the way people dress in vtk could be from our recent years.
Let's just assume vtk is set in 2017/2023,

Opposite to Kiro; he’s cold and doesn’t open his mouth much besides to offer the occasional playfully degrading comment.

Much like Helios he’s worse.
The only difference? His was done for manipulation against you rather than to protect you and he’s got even less qualms about using it to mess with you.
He already did it as Lucien of course but as Ares?
He’s so much crueler, and he’s not afraid to manhandle you either.
Even if he wants to safeguard you, it doesn’t mean he can’t have some fun with you too.
And maybe he misses your smile and laughter around him.
Not that he’d ever tell you as much.
He never got to show his annoyance as Lucien and as Ares he still mostly doesn’t.
Until he does.
You make one too many passive aggressive comments, roll your eyes one too many times and suddenly he’s got you pinned by your neck against the wall, grin more feral than you’d ever seen it with a glint in his eyes that makes your blood turn to ice.
He clicks his tongue at you.
“Tsk tsk tsk…not a very smart girl now are we?”
His voice is little more than a hiss.
“This has been a long time coming. I hope you’re ready to be punished. Thoroughly.”
He leans forward to purr all too sweetly into your ear.
“And I have just the method. Be a good girl and behave for me won’t you? I’d hate to have to gag you.”
His tone was so full of relish you know if you so much as try it he’ll follow through.

The Hug (Bunsen x Beaker Carrie au)
EXPLANATION BEFORE YOU MAY START READING:
This is a Muppet (namely about Beaker and Bunsen) alternative universe which I imagined long ago on my Deviantart account (sampea.deviantart.com).
Please allow me to explain this alternative universe. It is basically the Carrie White Universe (the one from Stephen King, that is), only with Muppets/Sesame Street characters. In this universe, Beaker is a muppet which has been bullied by others as long as he remembers, not only by Kermit and his gang, but his preacher father as well… After a particularly hard beating in the shower, because of a nosebleed… He discovers a new power hidden to him until now…Telekinesis.
One day, as he is researching some books on it, he comes upon another outcast of his school: a green muppet man with glasses that is passioned by the occult and science. Seeing Beaker’s similar interest in it, he gladly invites him to try some experiments. And thus, Beaker’s secret is revealed for the first time to someone else. Far from being afraid, Bunsen happily continues on his experiments, studying Beaker as a fascinating specimen (while keeping it totally secret). And…Over their secret meetings after school…A new feeling develops inside Beaker…Love…for a man…What would his father do to him if he found out? Certainly, something worse than the dreadful closet…And yet, for the first time in his life, Beaker is not that terrified of his father’s wrath…For Bunsen is the first one in a long, long time to show genuine kindness… And dare he say, he wished he could go to prom with him…

It all happened so fast...One moment they were there on the podium...Then...a warm and gooey substance splashed both of them...When Bunsen turned to his side...Beaker was there...All covered in...Wait, iron-like smell...Oh,no...BLOOD. He gawked for a moment and turned towards the stunned attendants...Then, it got out...
''YOU MANIACS!''
Then, a metal sound... CLUNK! Something on his head...Then, he passed out...
''Bunsen!''...
When he came to, Beaker was gone...and the gymnasium was aflame...The smaller, pudgier teen quickly got to his feet, despite his headache, seeing a door struggling against panicked students. He quickly calculated (or rather theorised) what had happened and pushed against it, until he could see his love on the other side as Bunsen squeeze through the door.
''Beaker!''
The latter whipped his head back...glowing white and red in the eyes...Bunsen gasped...But he resolved himself:
''Beaker! Wait!''
Suddenly, the door slammed-opened, apace and the struggling teens burst out of the confines of the boiling gymnasium. Bunsen was almost trampled, but he was determined to find the taller, red-haired boy that was his date...
That one was now almost solemnly walking towards the distance...his tuxedo all stained of crimson...
But if Bunsen was freed by him, then surely, he could stop him...
(TIMESKIP)
By the time Bunsen reached the church, the streets were swimming in high voltage...Beaker would not let any part of the town go unpunished...In all that time he had experimented with him back at the school lab...He would have never guessed just how strong Beaker's powers could be...He figured Beaker would be here...And the cracked door was hypothesis enough...
Beaker was here...praying...like a man about to get married...at the altar...Bunsen stood there...Unsure and concerned and afraid...He slowly inched towards the center of the two rows of wooden seats...
''...Beaker?...''
The latter slowly got up on one knee...then fully standing... knuckles white and bleeding...Though most likely not from the downpour of earlier...And then, through gritted teeth..and a sigh...
''...Bunsen...''
The spectacled one recoiled a little. And the small objects and lanterns began to shake...''Cautiously..Cautiously...'', said a mantra in Bunsen's head...
''I...I am sorry...I never knew this would happen...This wasn't supposed to...I wanted to offer you a most...positive experience...This wasn't supposed to happen.''
''You...did this...Didn't you?...'' Beaker hissed, panting...And the lanterns shook and the seats creaked...
''No!'', Bunsen whispered... ''I did not! How can you possibly say-AAH!''
The lanterns flew like a shell past his ears, crashing near the big doors at the front and the seats exploded into shards.
''ADMIT IT!'', snarled the telekinetic redhead.
Bunsen ducked and whimpered, but he still resolved to move forward...Even as he felt himself levitating...But he was not thrown backwards...Enough of a good sign.
''Beaker! Listen to me! I did not know that this prank would happen! I swear! Search your mind! Search my mind! It was never in my hypothesis to hurt you! Please! It must have been Kermit! Beaker-''
WHOOSH! He was suddenly flung over to Beaker. Bunsen instinctively held him...
Beaker was panting...The shards dropped. He then...Found his arms around the meatier teenager...
But a piercing glaze of his slented pupil made Bunsen gasp in primal intrusion of his mind...He felt it being scanned and scrubbed-clean with a cotton bud...Inspected and probbed beyond his ability to bear it...But then, it was swifly done...
Beaker's eyes widened...Then his irises return to their normal browns...Bunsen was not lying...He...wanted him...All of him...Loved him.
Beaker short-circuited in the throat...He almost coughed...And let the tears flows and hid into the crook of Bunsen's shoulders...He whimpered like a wounded animal...A pup even...
Bunsen just held him in the same manner...pushing the thought of a fire away from his thoughts...
His love was hurt...And needed him.

Hang on a minute. By your standard rules of royal succession, you'd expect the Red Prince to have become the new Red King, but he's emphatically not. Here in an Acre of animated constructs, in a world where everything seems to revolve around Purpose... he was made to be the Prince. And so, even in the King's absence, a Prince he remains.
Also on the subject of the Red Prince: the quote that served as the inspiration for the Red Queen Hypothesis - named for the Prince's literary allusion - feels awfully appropriate for Ruby's mental state right about now.
“Now, here, you see, it takes all the running you can do, to keep in the same place. If you want to get somewhere else, you must run at least twice as fast as that!”
I figured that he's still the Prince because he's not old enough to be a King. There's a lot of cultures where a prince has to come of age before he takes power in his own right, and while the Red Prince doesn't seem to have a regent, he might be using the tradition to delay becoming King.
But yeah, I have the definite feeling that the Red King is the one who was meant to be winning games and ever since he died the Red Prince has been trying and failing to fill that role.

A strange device shimmered into existence around them. They looked up the length of an enormous, golden spire.
“It whispers,” said Tazaroc.
“Then block your ears,” said Ozletc. “Do you see the potential in this?”
“Chaos,” said Niruul.
“No,” said Ozletc. “Opportunity. See how it tugs at the fabric of our time? Can you see the seams?”
The seams were sewn tightly shut, but a skilled hand could find them. A skilled hand could rip every stitch. All three sisters could feel it.
Drifter walked to the central spire and put his ear up against it. “This core…” he said, leaning close. His eyes darted back to Osiris. “It’s whispering.”
Osiris’s expression didn’t change; his arms didn’t uncross. “We’ll seal the core away. I understand the ramifications.”
“Good luck keeping that contained. Not something I would bargain with, hotshot.”
Do you know the OXA Machine, Guardian? Psions are adept at overcoming the restraints of linear time. The Sundial is a dangerous tool in their gnarled hands. Take it back.
“It is so clear,” said Niruul, reverent. “An unobstructed glimpse into what was and what will be.”
“Not the troubled ramblings of a mad thing, like the OXA,” said Tazaroc.
They shared the feeling of unbounded possibility, and tasted the potential for success, and then for failure. Together, they drank the feelings in and steeled themselves against them.
“The past and future are at our fingertips, sisters,” said Ozletc. “Let us see what prospects they hold.”
Hmm, there's only one data artifact here, labeled "OXA," and it's seriously corrupted. Metadata says it was last accessed by an "Otzot" centuries ago. What is "OXA," and who is "Otzot"?

I don't even know where to start. When we landed on Neptune there was something.... waiting for us. An alien structure. It's an electromagnetic anomaly. No mass, but a tangible surface area. It's like a thesis statement to the von-Neumann Wigner hypothesis. Its definitely paracuasal, like the Traveler. Maya calls it the Veil. She says she heard the name in a whisper when she looked at it.
There's an almost unreadable data artifact here, labeled "OXA." It's heavily corrupted, but I'm able to make out "MSund12" from the access log. What is "OXA," and who was "MSund12"?
The Red Legion have run amok in timelines across the past, present, and future of this planet. If you're willing to help, I'll arm you to smash the Legion and collapse the timelines they've created. You'll need my Sundial to do it.
The von Neumann–Wigner interpretation, also described as "consciousness causes collapse", is an interpretation of quantum mechanics in which consciousness is postulated to be necessary for the completion of the process of quantum measurement.
What constitutes an observer or an observation is not directly specified by the theory, and the behavior of a system under measurement and observation is completely different from its usual behavior: the wavefunction that describes a system spreads out into an ever-larger superposition of different possible situations. "A black box for galactic civilizations, if you prefer it in pilot's terms." The Evocate-General nods to the
pin on my right pauldron. I am conscious of my shaved-down tusks, of the sores left by the fighter's
interface. "The doomed and the damned left the record of their downfall in the OXA."
I must be calm. I must record my thoughts. Now I think of the OXA Machine, eternally lost and eternally rebuilt, passed down from civilization to civilization like a ship's black box. I think of the legends of the Hive King Oryx and his quest to pass into the Deep. I took that story as an allegory. I think I was wrong.
"It's stronger… the Veil's signature." Ikora's voice carries a hint of learned suspicion. "Ever since we recovered Titan."
"That is to be expected," Osiris retorts, now within the weave of droning Strand surrounding the Veil. The room around them trembles. "When Titan was torn back, the Veil took notice. It seemed to recognize Titan's arrival."
Ikora tightens her grip on the Strand thread. "We have the Veil, our Ghosts… what are we missing? If we decipher the connection between Titan and the Veil, that connection might be what we need to follow the Witness."
"What of the worm?" Osiris asks skeptically. "Sloane believes she is our best chance."
"You taught me the value of a backup plan." Ikora gives him a stern look. "Titan, Savathûn's throne world, every place we've found egregore… I haven't found the exact threads yet but pull one and they all seem to spin back to Neomuna. To the Veil."
"You're getting ahead of yourself. Following some of my… less favorable tendencies. Nimbus says we must 'flow' to understand Strand; perhaps it is the same with the Veil." Osiris moves beside Ikora and reaches up, palm parallel to the threads drawn taut from Ikora's braid of Strand. "Sol remembered Titan, in a way. The Veil's signal spiked when Titan returned from memory to reality, when the rhythm of the solar system had been restored to order." Osiris drops his hand and looks to Ikora. "Perhaps we must simply find that rhythm before we are able to interpret the beats within it."

Do you think Jaune is gonna be stuck like this, or is it a thing that’ll only last until he gets his character wake-up call?
been marinating on this for a few days because like. fundamentally i’m not sure lol i think we need to get a better sense of how he got here first; if he’s just been here for a few decades and aged naturally then i doubt they’ll de-age him because that is a whole lot of life experience to symbolically regress but on the other hand i’m very doubtful at this point as to whether that is actually what happened, firstly because of the allusion at play and secondly because aging the guy thirty years off screen would be an odd way to follow up on his role in penny’s death—eliding his own feelings about himself + his choices and how he reacts to this intense trauma for the sake of making it in effect something he did to ruby, which imo would be uncharacteristically disrespectful to jaune as a character—in that he is often the butt of the joke yes but he has also always been afforded interiority and like, autonomy, as a character, from being a prop in anyone else’s story. either he spent thirty years down here stagnating to such an extent that fifty-year-old jaune is functionally interchangeable with nineteen-year-jaune (in which case, why bother except for shock value), or he’s healed and grown past what happened entirely off-screen (in which case he’s been demoted from main character to supporting cast, which seems doubtful), or something else is going on (in which case, revealing the rusted knight as fifty-year-old jaune is a misdirection). door number three feels the most likely given how rwby has handled him up to this point and how the narrative is constructed generally, but it’s also the hardest to speculate on except by resorting to allusion because it’s the biggest unknown.
the most critical variable to my mind as far as door three is whether fifty-year-old and nineteen-year-old jaune are separate entities or if the latter has been artificially/magically aged as a consequence of emotional ‘manipulation’ of the ever after’s reality (i.e. a teatime purgatory situation).
that rusty is revealed as fifty-year-old jaune in the same episode that introduces the concept of ascension is enticing, although as per usual for me i have come to a very different hypothesis than most of the fandom in that i think the rusted knight may have ascended to ‘become’ jaune. i am thinking here of how alyx cheated to win the game vs the red king, and the red king ascended and became a child who cheats to win. and likewise there is some harmony between the herbalist’s purpose of “helping people on their journeys” and his ascension after meeting four huntresses whose stated purpose is to “protect those who cannot protect themselves”—note that the herbalist’s final action before he ascends is hurting someone who cannot protect herself and the last thing he says is “huntresses, was it? peculiar things.”
ascension remakes you into the you you wanted to be when you were still you, but there is also an element of reflection and recognition of the self (or the desired self) in others in both of the examples we have to hand. thus, if the rusted knight’s purpose is to be a guardian or protector who defeats the jabberwalker (as it seems to be) then the potential for an encounter with a grieving and guilt-stricken jaune to incite an ascension seems, well, obvious. further, the rusted knight’s apparent recognition of the girls as ‘team rwby’ is just as easily explained by familiarity with jaune as it is by actually being jaune himself—because jaune knows that all of team rwby fell and would certainly ask for help finding them, a request that necessarily involves describing them—and if jaune incited the rusted knight’s ascension in a similar way as the girls did with the herbalist, then it stands to reason that jaune, who is extremely sensitive about losing/not being able to save people, would try to find him again in order to ‘make up for’ having ‘killed’ him (<- the denizens do not conceive of it that way but jaune certainly would).
emotionally there is a lot of interesting stuff to work with here for jaune himself in that inciting the ascension of the rusted knight repeats the trauma of his part in penny’s death but also provides an opportunity for closure and healing because the rusted knight comes back; also something perhaps in the rusted knight ‘inheriting’ the broken crocea mors, lifting that burden from jaune’s shoulders restoring the sword to its original status as a symbol of protection; and also something in the reflection of jaune’s personal history, with the ascended knight becoming in effect a surrogate for the father who was a warrior himself but either couldn’t or wouldn’t support jaune’s desire to follow in his footsteps.
so presently i’m leaning toward “the rusted knight is not jaune himself but was inspired by jaune when he ascended,” with the corollary that jaune is a) still around somewhere and b) not aged significantly, making the question of whether jaune gets un-changed moot; but if the rusted knight is truly jaune then whether he gets de-aged or not depends, i think, entirely on whether he’s genuinely thirty years older (in which case, no) or if he only looks that way because of a teatime purgatory situation (in which case, yes, but loosely i would expect not all at once; gradual backwards-aging correlating to gradual clambering out of the pit of guilt and grief that put him in teatime purgatory strikes me as the most natural way to do it if his current apparent age is a side effect of his emotions influencing the ever after).
