Starring: Aizen Sosuke x f!reader; Mayuri Kurotsuchi x f!reader; Uryuu Ishida x f!reader.

Warnings: fluff, basically. Also, be aware that Uryuu is aged up and that Aizen’s part has some toxic traits. He is a walking red flag, after all.

Plot: how would they act if you were their soulmate and they were genuinely in love with you? Was it love at first sight, or were you two just friends at first?

Uryuu Ishida.

• For someone as logical and rational as him, it was impossible to believe it was love at first sight. Could something like that possibly exist? He did not trust his own feelings around you. You were a good person, he felt comfortable around you. Yet, the way you always seemed to understand him and support every decision he made was quite disturbing. It was impossible to be that connected to someone. It almost felt like a spiritual connection.

• He probably did not have any filter around you and was not afraid to show you his true colors. He was fine with not being judged as soemone too analytical and detached, for once. He liked the way you made him feel normal.

• He did not let anyone hurt you, or offend you in any way. It did not matter if it was during a fight, or in a more casual occasion. He even snapped at Ichigo out of the blue because he had accidentally spilt some coffee on your papers. You found it odd, of course, but it was sweet at some extent.

• He never failed to notice how beautiful you were. He always thought your appearence whetted his appetites, but he restrained himself from crossing the line of friendship for months. Why? He was frightened by the idea of losing you. What if you didn’t want him back? You two were definitely better off as friends. Or so he thought until something happened.

• Something happened, right. That was Ichigo trying to hit on you. He could not let that happen. Now he was absolutely sure that he could be a better boyfriend material than him, therefore he quickly made up his mind and decided to talk to you. Man on a mission: he interrupted Ichigo’s little speech and literally dragged you away from him.

• He thought it would have been easier for someone like him, so logical and precise. He was so wrong. As you two were alone and he could finally confess his feelings to you, he felt his heart sink into his chest. Oh, damn, your eyes. It was all your cute eyes’s fault. He got distracted! Naturally, he messed up his little mental plan on how to make you understand he liked you. Yet, it was cute.

• “Your eyes are so pretty. They leave me speechless” he simply blurted out, clenching his fists down his sides.

• A long silence followed that as you both blushed and you blinked at him in confusion. Uryuu panicked, of course, and the tips of his ears turned red. He knew words were not his forte at this point and he thought about kissing you instead.

• Yet, you surprised him when you said “I love you too, if that’s what you meant. Your eyes not quite bad too, by the way” you whispered, smiling softly.

• Uryuu smiled weakly and hugged you tightly. Yes, there was no doubt about it. You were definitely his soulmate. But his brain had short-circuited again and you had to clear your throat to remind him that he should have kissed you and not hugged you.

Aizen Sosuke.

• It was love at first sight. Or obsession, at first sight. He believed in that concept, but he never thought it would have ever happened to him. He was too self-centered, affected by his god complex and detached from any human emotion to feel a connection with someone. You were more than his obsession, at first. He was curious about you and how you simply seemed to break his walls and go with his flow without getting cut on his edges.

• As you two spent time together, he started to do some researches about the nature of some spiritual bonds among individuals and he found out that you two were most likely soulmates. What a shock. Aizen knew one thing for sure: if you were his soulmate, he had to have you by his side no matter what.

• ‘No matter what’ was a devious concept for him. Why? He did not care about what was the price to pay to win to you over, he would have done it. Or kidnapped you.

• As he watched you stroll around and talking with Shinji, he definitely uttered something among the lines of “Mine of no one else’s”. That night he trimmed his former Captain’s hair. Not long before that, Shinji became one of Aizen’s victims.

• As you seemed to be naturally drawn to him, though, he simply welcomed you into his life. He loved showing you a little soft side of him no one knew. You spent a lot of time sipping on tea and talking about calligraphy. You were so perfect for him. And he definitely loved it when you got too tired and fell asleep over his shoulder.

• Your natural predisposition for meddling into his business and figuring out his plans made him go crazy and he was soon forced to have a serious talk in the middle of the woods with you. You had stand by his side. If you were soulmates, you would have probably agreed in whatever wicked plans he had. Right?

• “Is this the part where you give me the choice to either follow you, or die right here? Of course I am in” you said, as he confronted you. Oh, the wolfish grin plastered over his face at that point was priceless.

• You were not as cruel as he was. You simply stack by his side and followed his orders, but he tried to keep your hands as clean as possible. After all, a beauty as yourself could not become too blood-thirsty. He did not want you to become as Gin, he was happy with having you glued by his hip.

• His confession was smooth. Right before he tricked Hinamori, he invited you to watch the fireworks together. After all, everybody did it and it would have been simply suspicious not to attend the mundane event. However, as you were sitting on the rooftop next to him, eyes twinkling for the technicolor lights exploding in the night sky, he grasped your jaw rather roughly and kissed you passionately.

• “Did I make it loud and clear?” he simply purred in your ear. Of course not. It was more than enough.

Mayuri Kurotsuchi.

• You caught the eye of this man. He probably wanted to experiment on you at first! Yet, as he studied your features better, he had to admit that you were too pretty for that and… What was that strange attraction he felt towards you? He wanted to know you, to be around you, to study you and not on you. The first thing he did after your first meeting was searching for answers and he got thunderstruck when he found them. He had a soulmate? That was absurd. It was weird thinking that you would have been able to understand him wholly and bear him at his worst.

• Ladies and gentlemen, he tried to be polite. The next day he tracked you down and apologized for his behavior. He told you he did not want to use you as a cavy anymore but that it would have been nice of you to help him understand if soulmates existed. That was his attempt to befriend you and it worked. He did not tell you he suspected you to he his soulmate at first. He did not want to scare you away.

• You two spent most of the time in his laboratory, helping him with his researches or, watching him do them, because he lost his patience over everything. But, eventually, you snapped. You tamed that maniac man by literally yelling at his face to calm down.

• He got offended at first.

• That little voice inside him told him to forgive you right away, though. How frustrating it was!

• After struggling to find a solution to a chemistry problem and you casually walked by dropping the solution, he was left speechless. He spent three alone, in the privacy of his room, to talk to himself about how could someone beat him at his own game.

• Months went by just like that, until you decided to sneak into his private room and rummage through his stuff. Finally, you found a file with your name over it and you were quite shocked to read that you were his soulmate. You planned to make your move on him, since he seemed to be too stubborn to confront you about it. However luck was not in your favor.

• He caught you with the papers in your hands and he fumed in anger.

• You were not even surprised by the argument that followed. It had become amusing at this point. But you knew how to turn the tables in your favor. As he yelled at you, you walked up to him slowly until just mere inches devided your faces.

• “How could you do that? You little—” he ranted, throwing his hands in the air as you simply captured his lips in yours with a kiss. Man, he stopped screaming and turned red from head to toe.

• “Oh. That was so much overdued, actually” he commented, rubbing his chin before kissing you again.

At the time, there was no other work yet which combined Japanese style clothing with the English alphabet, so I deliberately added English subtitles, and in special chapters I made a point of adding Japanese subtitles in order to leave an impression. In that sort of sense, many people may prefer the Japanese subtitles.

Everything is named based on how it sounds and my own intuition. I genuinely love naming things, so I always have a list of names belonging to (or sound like they belong to) various nationalities, enough to accommodate several hundred characters. I often draw out names from there.

A fair amount of difference can be observed in Kubo-sensei's art style when comparing the first volume with the last volume, but did you intend for this change at the time the manga was being serialized? Or did it change over the course of drawing a large number of illustrations?

It's not so much a conscious effort, but more like a perpetual feeling that this isn't the best style for portraying my characters, and I'm trying to explore that while drawing. In the case of BLEACH, of course the final stages are closer to the ideal, and at present I'm even closer to that ideal compared to back then.

The armband is also a complete fake made with shiny material in the hope that it would please Mashiro. Though, with a single glance Mashiro was satisfied.

I haven't spoken openly about it much since being told that I have a bad personality, but the scenario before and after that scene is one of my favorites!!

Like Hihiō Zabimaru or Fuji Kujaku, there are many scenes where a Zanpakutō not called by its true name was unable to demonstrate its true power. I reckon "Nozarashi" bore the essence of a Shinigami and materialized as a consequence of being called by the name "Yachiru" - a Shinigami who actually exists, and perhaps because it was the name "Yachiru" (*Yachi = eight thousand, Ru = flows/styles), she acquired Sanpo Kenjū which was specialized for the act of cutting.

I'm quite curious about the true identity of Kusajishi Yachiru, so I'd be overjoyed if you could give us an answer.

Wow, amazing! It's not even written that Yachiru is Nozarashi, yet you managed to find your way here. You are mostly correct within the scope covered by your question. To go further, Yachiru is a form of Nozarashi's Bankai manifestation separated from its main body, and having received her name from Kenpachi, she harbored the power of a Shinigami. The embodiment of Nozarashi itself takes the form of a grown woman. I think it's easier to understand if I got you to imagine Zangetsu and Tensa Zangetsu.

You pinched the bridge of your nose as you felt the start of a class 1 headache budding behind your eyes. A symptom of being around the Bambie's for too long.

You loved all your Quincy ‘sisters’ equally. There were so few of you these days that they must be cherished and protected, even if you weren’t part of the group. But like most sisters they could get on your nerves and be almost impossible to deal with. Sometimes you needed a break.

Quickly making your way out of ear shot of the squabbling through the many secret corridors of the palace, you heave out a heavy sigh at the sound of peace & quiet and let your hair down. Relaxing for the first time in what felt like months now.

“What are you doing?”

You jump at being startled by another voice coming from another secret corridor, this part of the castle really just a maze, and feel your face heat up. “I was…just trying to be alone.”

Standing up straight and trying to right yourself in front of the Quincy Grand Master, you feel very uneasy being out of uniform like this. It was undignified, and unworthy of your station. “This portion of the castle is usually abandoned.”

“I know. That’s why I come here.” Jugram replied. Much to your surprise. “They’re quite loud aren’t they?”

“The Bambie's?”

“All of them.”

He then walked closer to you. Your breath catching in your throat as you thought he was going to scold you for being out of uniform. Instead, Jugram reached out and grabbed a lock of your hair. “I didn’t know your hair was this long.”

Your face felt incredibly hot as you looked up at him. Having to turn away from those green eyes before you faint. “I…I keep it up usually. It’s more presentable that way.”

Jugram smiled softly at you, and you thought your knees might buckle right then. “That’s what I admire about you. You always think of your actions in how they will affect the Sternritter and His Majesty.” You were surprised. You thought that Jugram never thought of you at all.

The blonde released your hair and took a step back. “Try not to wander off too far.” He then told you. “Can’t have you getting lost. Try to be back before last call.”

“I..I will!” He gave you a single nod and then went on his way. Leaving you a bit confused, as you stroked your hair.

“Oi! What the hell do you think you’re doing?!” You turn around at the loud sound of Bazz-B barking. Able to hear him more than see him with the helmet on your head. “I’m the only hot head around here! You can’t just be running off like that!”

“But isn’t that supposed to be what an infantry member does?” You tell him as you pulled off your helmet. “Go in first and clear the way so the rest of you can come in and finish them off?”

Bazz-B seemed startled for a moment, but it certainly couldn’t have been by your logic. “What’s that?” He asked, pointing at you.

“What? What’s what?”

“That!” He repeated. Just pointing with more emphasis at your head like it he made it more obvious you’d get it. “What’s going on with your head?”

“My head?” You asked. Touching it and feeling for a wound. You don’t feel any and suddenly realize he was talking about your hair. He’d never seen it down before. “I couldn’t fit my helmet on with it up the usual way, so I had to just bunch it up under there. Why? Does it look bad?” You probably had the worst helmet hair.

The senior Quincy didn’t say anything. He just turned his head away. His face as pink as his mohawk. “No! I mean…it looks fine. I just didn’t know your hair was that long. It’s…nice.”

“Do you like people with long hair Bazz-B?”

“No!” He snapped at you, but seemed to immediately want to take it back as he turned away again. “It’s whatever. Hair is dumb anyway. It just gets in the way.”

“Do you think I should cut it then? So it fits under my helmet better?”

“No!!” That was the loudest one yet, and you smirk. “I mean…do whatever you want! What do I care what your hair looks like?!”

Bazz-B literally waved you off as he marched off. Seeming done with the conversation. You don’t cut it, but any time he annoyed you from then on you would comment on Liltotto, or some other short hair cut you saw, and how cute it would look on you.

“Hmmm….I’m never going to get this….” Something about math was just beyond your grasp. Words you were fine with. Pictures, descriptions. But math? You must have missed the line when you were supposed to queue up and get that skill that day.

“Don’t be so discouraged.” Uryuu told you, trying to be encouraging. “You’re getting better.”

“You’re just saying that because we’ve been at it for over an hour.” Time did not seem to be playing a factor in your skills at all.

It was that time of year when all the students buckled down and started cramming for their university finals. This would be the test that decided their future, and they had to be perfect. Funny how you’ve faced literal monsters and nearly the end of the world, but a stupid test was what kept you up at night worrying.

“Let’s just call it quits and help me pick an easier university. Or a job in retail.” You tell him as you pull your braid bun down.

“Don’t say that! You really are getting it. You just need too…..” Uryuu’s pep talk stopped as you started to take your braid apart. “What are you doing?”

“It’s too tight. I need to give it a minute to breathe.”

“I just…I’ve never seen you like that. With your hair down before.”

You thought about it for a moment and you supposed he was right. Since it was so long, you usually kept it up & braided for ease. You never really thought about wearing it another way. “I’d wear it down, but it just seems like a hassle.”

“You should….maybe try it some time….”

You turn to look at Uryuu, who was pushing up his glasses as he continued to write notes, “do you like long hair Uryuu?” He didn’t answer you, but his face turned pink as he started at his notes. His pen pressing into the paper harder.

You might not be good at math, but you could see what this was adding up to. “Maybe I’ll leave it down more.”

Surgery had been very loud. 6 hours working on your patient, but you were confident he was going to pull through. You were dead tired. You needed a shower to get the smell of blood and disinfectant off you, followed by a very long nap.

“Good work in there.” You look up to see Ryuuken following behind you. Pulling off his mask and surgical cap.

“Thanks. You too.” You told him, pulling off your own cap. “I was worried when they put the Director in for my surgery. All that time behind the desk, I thought you’d lost your touch.” You click on the water the wash up some and, when you don’t hear anything from behind you, you look back at Ryuuken. “What? I hurt your feelings?”

“Your hair is long.”

You blink a few times at the older man, then reach up to touch your hair. It was down. Like completely down. Your hair tie must have snapped when you were taking your cap off, but you were too tired to notice. “Damnit,” you curse quietly. Now what were you going to do? “I keep it up because it’s a little hard to practice medicine with it flying around. Why? You got a problem with it?”

“No,” he told you matter-of-factly. Also making his way over to the wash sink. “Actually, it suits you.”

You were a little taken a back by his compliment. Two in the last half hour no less. As far as you knew, that was more complimenting than Director Ishida did in a year. “Well, thanks.”

“Are you on call?” He then asked. To which you sort of shrug in response.

“I guess. I can’t leave until my patient wakes up.”

“Come by my office then.” Another surprise. “I want to go over the surgery notes when you’re done.”

You weren’t sure why, but it felt like surgery notes were the last thing he wanted to go over. Maybe you were just tired. In any case: shower, nap, check on patient, go see Ryuuken. Somewhere in there you had to find a new hair tie, but that could wait til later.

It had to be past midnight when everyone pilled out of the garganta and into the Kurarakura town streets. Orihime, Ichigo, Chad, Uryu and you all had just come from Rukia’s wedding. “Well.” Chad started, “I’m heading home.” With a wave, he bid everyone farewell and headed home.

"Inone.” Ichigo turned towards Orihimre. “Do you mind if I walk you home?” He looked nervous at her which wasn’t usual. "I-If you don't mind." She shuddered, cheeks turning pink. You looked between the both of them intrigued but said nothing. "Ishida. You going to walk her home or?" Ichigo pointed his thumb in your direction.

"Of course. Why would I let a woman walk home by herself, especially at night?" Ichigo rolled his eyes at Uryu’s response.
