Kinda made this autistic!reader x sirius black I hope you don’t mind
“Poppet, you’re gonna make yourself sick,” he says soothingly. Sirius is well versed in this dance: the Sunday scaries.
Every Sunday there’s an overwhelming feeling of being stuck, of your feet drying in tar and asphalt while the day moves on, zipping past you with near supersonic speeds.
This feeling of ‘am I going to be able to handle it?’ ‘Should I even bother?’ And then tears, tears that burn climbing up your throat and that makes your shoulders shake when they face down your cheeks and chin.
Sirius is currently holding you in his lap, one hand in your back and the other wiping the tears that collect in your chin.
“Hate that it makes you this nervous,” he murmurs, lips pressed into your cheek. “But if you keep up this level of upset you’re gonna get sick and that’ll make you feel worse.”
You nod, sniffling as you lay your sticky cheek to his bare chest.
Sirius had done your usual Sunday dance, washing the sheets, folding laundry, meal prepping breakfast and hoovering the living room and kitchen while you’d organized the cupboards, your books and everything else.
Now he’s got lavender oils in the diffuser and the bedroom lights are all off- save for your flower lamp on the bedside.
He’d even talked you into taking a soak in the bath to calm down.
It all helped till it didn’t and now you’re unable to sleep or settle down.
“Wanna watch the fruit thingy?” He asks, heart beating steadily beneath your ear. “The one that calms you down?”
“Can you do the moon one this time? And can you brew another chamomile tea?”
Your voice is scratchy from the tears and your red rimmed eyes and pouty lips has Sirius giving in with not a single tease of you requesting an ‘old lady’s brew.’
“Course poppet, sit pretty f’me in the mean time yeah?” He fiddles with the tv a bit before settling on the right video and then pops off to the kitchen.
When Sirius comes back you’re swaying in your spot on the bed, shoulders much more relaxed as you watch the stars and the moon move along the screen.
“Here, sweet girl,” he kisses the crown of your head as he passes over the tea cup. It’s not ten sips before you’re yawning and a lot more calm than you had been earlier. “S’all gonna be okay, m’love. Don’t worry.”

Today, December’s full Moon is most commonly known as the Cold Moon—a Mohawk name that conveys the frigid conditions of this time of year, when cold weather truly begins to grip us.
This full Moon has also been called the Long Night Moon (Mohican), as it rises during the “longest” nights of the year, near the December winter solstice. This name is doubly fitting because December’s full Moon shines above the horizon for a more extended period than most full Moons.
In Europe, ancient pagans called the December full Moon the “Moon Before Yule,” in honor of the Yuletide festival celebrating the return of the sun heralded by winter solstice.

“Yule” comes from Old English geol, which shares a history with the equivalent word from Old Norse, jól. Both these words referred to a midwinter festival centered around the winter solstice, which traditionally marked the halfway point of the winter season. After the solstice—the shortest day of the year—the days again begin to grow longer, so it’s thought that Yule was a celebration of the re-appearance of the Sun &the fertile land’s rebirth.
The celebration of Yule is one of the oldest winter celebrations in the world. Ancient people were hunters & spent most of their time outdoors. The seasons & weather played a significant part in their lives. The customs and traditions associated with it vary widely.
Scholars have connected the original celebrations of Yule to the Wild Hunt, the god Odin, and the heathen Anglo-Saxon Mōdraniht ("Mothers' Night")
Some believe it marks the rebirth of the Sun (the God) from the Earth (the Goddess) & the cold days of winter will soon begin to wane. The Goddess is seen in her virgin Maiden aspect
In towns and cities throughout Sweden during the Christmas season, large goats are constructed out of straw. It is thought that the tradition originated in ancient times, perhaps as a tribute to the god Thor, who was said to ride in a chariot pulled by goats. In Sweden the goat came to be associated with the Christmas celebration, and the Yule goat is now considered by many to be a companion or counterpart to Santa Claus.
Related festivals:
Christmas- An annual festival commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ as the son of God, primarily observed on December 25th
Hanukkah- A Jewish festival commemorating the recovery of Jerusalem & subsequent rededication of the Second Temple at the beginning of the Maccabean Revolt against the Seleucid Empire in the 2nd century BCE.
Hanukkah is observed for eight nights & days, starting on the 25th day of Kislev according to the Hebrew calendar, which may occur at any time from late November to late December in the Gregorian calendar. The festival is observed by lighting the candles of a candelabrum with nine branches, commonly called a menorah or hanukkiah.
Kwanzaa- An annual celebration of African-American culture from December 26 to January 1st, culminating in a communal feast called Karamu, usually on the sixth day. It was created by activist Maulana Karenga, based on African harvest festival traditions from various parts of West & Southeast Africa. Kwanzaa was first celebrated in 1966.
A Kwanzaa ceremony may include drumming and musical selections, libations, a reading of the African Pledge & the Principles of Blackness, reflection on the Pan-African colors, a discussion of the African principle of the day or a chapter in African history, a candle-lighting ritual, artistic performance & finally, a feast of faith (Karamu Ya Imani).
Saturnalia-
is an ancient Roman festival and holiday in honour of the god Saturn, held on 17 December of the Julian calendar & later expanded with festivities through to 23 December. The holiday was celebrated with a sacrifice at the Temple of Saturn, in the Roman Forum & a public banquet, followed by private gift-giving, continual partying & a carnival atmosphere that overturned Roman social norms: gambling was permitted & masters provided table service for their slaves as it was seen as a time of liberty for both slaves and freedmen alike.
A common custom was the election of a "King of the Saturnalia", who gave orders to people, which were followed & presided over the merrymaking. The gifts exchanged were usually gag gifts or small figurines made of wax or pottery known as sigillaria. The poet Catullus called it "the best of days".
Other celebrations:
Feast of Epona-
Eponalia is the feast day of Gaulish Goddess Epona, the Divine Mare & in the time of the Roman Empire it was celebrated on December 18th.
Epona is known to be one of a very few Gaulish deities whose names were spread to the rest of the Roman Empire. This seems to have happened because Roman cavalry units stationed in Gaul followed Her & adopted her as their Patroness. This may have started because many of the cavalry troops were conscripted from Gaul as they were superb horsemen. From Gaul the Romans took Epona with them including to Rome where She was given her own feast day on the 18 December. They worshipped her as Epona Augusta or Epona Regina & invoked her on behalf of the Emperor. She even had a shrine in the barracks of the Imperial Bodyguard.
Hunting of the Wren-
A traditional custom carried out on the Isle of Man on the 26 December, St. Stephen's Day. It consists of groups of people going around villages and towns singing and dancing a traditional song and dance around a decorated wren pole.
The earliest and most common folklore story accounting for the origin of hunt the wren tells of a fairy/enchantress/witch whose beauty lures the men of the Isle of Man to harm, for which she is chased and is changed into the form of a wren. It is therefore in punishment for her actions that the wren is hunted on St. Stephen's Day

Dancing With Shadows (Azriel x Reader)~Chapter 2
Warnings: SMUT, shower sex, oral (fem receiving)
Word Count: 2.1k
Series Masterlist
A/N: This is entirely self-indulgent, I can't even help myself
Tumblr media
Azriel always loved plane rides, the feeling of soaring above the earth was exhilarating. He thinks back to a funny dream he had as a kid, you had cracked up when he told you about his childhood delusions of having bat wings and flying through freezing mountain ranges. The memory of the golden sound of your laughter warms something deep in his soul. As much as he loves planes, Az is more than ready to get off this one because he knows what’s waiting for him at your apartment. You had tried to insist on picking him up from the airport, but his flight was getting in at 4 am your time so he opted to take his time getting his bag and stop for a shitty airport breakfast. After spending a mind-boggling five minutes contemplating the sheer size of an American large fountain drink and collecting his bag he calls a cab at a respectable 6:30. It’s a half an hour's drive from the airport to your apartment and he and the taxi driver chat about why he’s in the city.
“Ya know, there’s a pretty good bakery about 15 minutes away from your girl’s apartment. I could drop you there instead, and you could walk the rest of the way.” He raises an eyebrow at Azriel who can practically see your face light up at the sight of doughnuts in his mind.
“That would be great thanks.” Az nods, and the driver lets him out of the cab a few minutes later. He tips him handsomely before shutting the door and walking into the bakery. It’s a quaint shop with a pink sign reading “Alis’s” in cursive letters hanging in the window. Azriel thinks you might’ve mentioned this place a couple of times. He smiles at the old lady who bags his pastries and blushes at his accent. He also does his best to ignore the way she sends a pitying glance at his hands. You know about his hands, obviously, and hadn’t shown him an ounce of pity. Support but never pity. It was just one of the many things he loved about you.
God–love.
The word rocks through him like a tidal wave. He’s known for a while, he hasn’t said it to you yet, but with finally having you in person he doesn’t think he can hold back any longer. Plugging your address into the GPS on his phone he starts the walk to your apartment. He thanks whoever may be looking down on him when he passes a flower stand and buys the biggest bouquet of roses the merchant has to offer.
Eventually, he reaches your front door.
He wasn’t nervous at all until this moment, hands suddenly sweating around the flower stems and a bag of doughnuts. Dropping his duffle on the ground he gathers all his courage and knocks on your front door. It gets thrown open faster than he can knock a second time and he has you in his arms before he can blink.
Azriel might think it’s weird that the first thing he notices about you is how good you smell, like clean laundry and chamomile tea, but he’s too focused on the feeling of you in his arms to care. You’re actually real, actually here in front of him. It feels odd to see you in person instead of on his phone screen. He maps each little detail of your face that’s been hidden from him over cameras.
“You’re beautiful,” it’s the only thing he can seem to get out of his mouth at the moment and he delights in the way pink floods your cheeks. “Hi.”
“Hi,” comes your sheepish reply, a star-splitting smile stretching across your cheeks. You thank him for the flowers, dashing off somewhere to find a vase. He’s wracked through with an odd sensation looking at the things he knows. He’s seen your apartment multiple times before, he knows almost every intimate detail. He knows the shelves of your bookshelf are organized based on genre, starting with your favorites. He knows which room is your bedroom, your bathroom, your office, and what is in your snack cabinet. Az thinks he could probably navigate this apartment with a blindfold tied around his eyes.
He’s just never been here before.
Then he’s wracked with new things. The intimate details that he’s craved so desperately since knowing you. Like what your candles smell like, the rumpled blankets on the couch, and the slippers you haphazardly kicked under the coffee table. This is the first time he’s set foot in your apartment but he feels like he’s home.
Azriel toes off his shoes gently as you return with a vase full of roses, you stare at each other for another beat. Like distant planets so used to admiring from afar now pulled into each other's orbit. You seem to remember yourself after staring at him a moment longer, still frozen in time in your doorway.
“You brought me doughnuts,” your stomach growls and Azriel laughs as he hands you the bag for inspection. You seem satisfied with his choices, tongue swiping across your bottom lip as you consider the options.
“Can I come in?” Azriel asks with a tilt of his head, amusement sparkling in his hazel eyes. You’re knocked out of your stupor once more as heavy red rises to the tips of your ears.
“Of course,” you mutter shyly and reach down to grab his duffle bag. He bats your hand away without a second thought, hauling the heavy bag over his shoulder. He had to bring some computer equipment with him, unfortunately not quite off the hook from work completely.
“Where should I put this?” he questions, looking around the apartment.
“Oh, you can just put it in the bedroom,” You start to direct him there but Azriel is already down the hallway and throwing open your bedroom door. You wander down the hall behind him, adoring the way he appears in your space. “I made us a dinner reservation tonight by the way. Italian.” Azriel lets out a satisfied hum before taking you in his arms again, tucking you safely into the warmth of his chest and resting his chin on your forehead.
“What else do you have planned for the week?” He mumbles the question into your hair line and you’re so overwhelmed with butterflies that you forget to answer. You’re simply stuck staring at his beauty that he has to jostle you to let the words loose.
“Well, I figured I’d take you to all the major tourist attractions, and some of my favorite hidden gems, then whatever else you want to do.” You reply with a noncommittal shrug and Azriel locks his gaze onto your eyes and then tracks down to your lips. Heat lights up your spine like a detonating cord trailing its sparking path to dynamite.
“Can I kiss you now? Please?” He mumbles to you, lips almost brushing as he speaks. Your nod comes almost embarrassingly quickly, but Azriel doesn’t care as he hauls his mouth to yours. His kiss is electric, a drug you’re immediately addicted to and you never want to stop. His hands are roaming your body mapping every inch of you because he knows that this week could never be enough of you. You break apart, laughing giddily into each other's mouths before delving back in, eager for one more taste, before you drag him back out into the kitchen to enjoy your doughnuts.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
“Yes Rhys, I’m alright. Everything’s more than alright.” Azriel is reclined on your bed relishing in feeling of being in your space. The two of you had spent the afternoon lazing around, finally holding each other as Azriel worked on some things for his job. He watched the sunset through the gauzy curtains as Rhys’s voice droned over the receiver of his phone. “Yeah the flight was alright,” Rhys asks another question but Azriel’s ears are perked when he hears your shower turn on, a quick glance at his alarm clock tells him that you have two hours before your reservation. “Hey Rhys, I’ve got to call you back.” He can distantly hear Rhys’s protests as he disconnects the call, and pads on nearly silent feet to your bathroom.
Azriel’s never been a religious man, but he thanks every god he can think of when the door handle turns easily under his grip.
He hopes you don’t kick him to the curb for crashing your shower, but the thought of finally seeing your body, in person and bare for him, is more than Az can bear. Throwing his shirt over his head and kicking off his shorts and boxers in one go he steps into the shower. Naturally, you jump at first, your eyes fly open and you almost launch your shampoo bottle at your perceived assailant. Once you realize it’s Azriel all of your anxiety turns molten in the pit of your stomach. You shamelessly eye him, eyes tracking a burning trail from his face down to his toes, paying particular interest to the area between his legs.
“See something you like?” Az’s voice rumbles. You nod, eyes drooping into a seductive half-lid.
“I don’t remember giving you permission to invade my shower.” You tease stepping further into his space, every breath causing your chest to bump his.
“I can go if you don’t want me here,” Azriel replies, moving to leave, but your hand circles hard around his wrist to prevent him from pulling back the curtain. “That’s what I thought.” His voice is smug, eyes as satisfied as a wolf with fresh prey as he surveys your naked form, watching the water run over your every dip and curve. Azriel gently pushes you against the shower wall, lips moving to bite your fluttering pulse. Your hands find purchase on his shoulders, nails leaving a satisfying bite that sends jolts down his spine. Your tongue laps up the water collecting around his collar bones, and Azriel’s moan of appreciation reverberates off the porcelain.
You pant his name as every hard part of him makes contact with every soft part of you, and Az cups one hand along your jaw as he finally puts his mouth on yours.
“Let me make you fall apart for me,” He begs, hips canting against yours. Your head tips back against the tile, the combination of Azriel and the heat making you delightfully dizzy. “Let me devour you as I promised.” He slowly kneels on the shower floor, the hot water beating into his side, plastering his ink-dark hair to his forehead. Your hands chase it away, revealing hazel eyes burning with desire. He slowly draws one of your legs over his shoulders, you should be afraid of slipping but Azriel’s hold is sturdy, hands confident as he supports your weight.
If you know one thing about Azriel it’s that he always keeps his promises.
He licks a trail up your center, leaving golden fire in his wake. He feasts on you, relishing in the way your moans echo loud enough that your entire apartment is sure to hear. Azriel cannot wait to properly take you apart in bed later, but he’ll allow himself this taste for now. He toys with you, playfully flicking and sucking at the apex of your thighs as your hands find purchase in his hair, tugging and pulling as he has his way with you. His tongue slips down and your vision turns white as it thrusts in and out of you, curling to reach the spot inside of you that makes you see stars. You fall apart soon after that, the heavens and the earth colliding in a vulgar symphony as your thighs shake around his head. Azriel gently eases your leg down before standing and claiming your mouth, you moan at the taste of yourself on his tongue. You try to reach for him but he stops you. You shoot him a confused look his thumb swiping up to soothe the crease between your brows.
“The first time I come with you will be inside you,” he vows “and sadly I do not have the time to prep you for that.” heat flashes through you at his words, and amusement and lust sparkle back at him in your eyes. “After dinner my love I promise.” You nod, and lather shampoo in your hands to start to wash his hair, Az’s head tipping back with a groan as your fingers scratch at his scalp. You wash, rubbing out the creases of muscles and holding each other under the running water. Azriel finishes first, leaving you frustrated in your shower with a searing kiss and the echoes of promises to come after your reservation

Signs they are reaching out• having a strong urge to Vail in her honor, seeing her animals and symbols in your dreams, and seeing her imagery a lot, everything at home suddenly going well.
Vows/omans• that she “would be a maiden all her days”
Morals• morally light/pure
Courting• None
Past lovers/crushes• None
Personality• She avoids drama, and is generous, but her temper is volcanic in nature, she is slow to anger, but when she gets angry her rage is a force of nature. She is modest, tranquil, and industrious
Home• Mount Olympus
Mortal or immortal • immortal
Fact• Historically she is supposed to be the first deity offered to in a ritual due to being the goddess of fire, she's the oldest Olympian, She is spat out last by Kronos so she is also the youngest, she shares her seat with Diyonisus, she did not give it up, she receives a share of every sacrifice/prayer to the gods, and she is commonly seen alongside with Hermes, I would recommend putting their alters close together.
Element• fire
Curses• a bad family life, food being burnt, having not enough food, being turned away at restaurants, being homeless, your house catching on fire
Blessings• all domestic happiness and blessings
Roots• Greek mythology….and she was raised in her father's stomach, and at the first years of theogony era.
Friends• all of the gods, but most notably Hermes, but is not friends with Priapus, she dislikes him (he tried to rape her.)
Parentage• Cronus and Rhea

Pet• she has no pets.
Children • she has no children.
Appearance in astral or gen• she was typically represented wearing a veil and robe. In some images, she held a flowering branch or kettle as well.
Festivals • None, at every feast and meal a liberation was made to her name first and last, but I associate Thanksgiving with her, but her Roman counter part Vesta has 1-15 June of each year, an then another festival celebrated on 8-9 July.  Hestia is also mentioned on 8 June. But a neo-pagan sets aside 26 December – 22 January as a month devoted to Hestia.
Status• Virgin theoi goddess.
What disrespects her turning away people at your home (she is a goddess of hospitality and it was seen as disrespectful to her to do so.)
Planet• unknown
Her Tarot cards• the Temperance, the fourteenth Major Arcana card.
Remind me of• Hot cocoa, and Thanksgiving.
Scents/Inscene • Lavender, Rose, spring water,  rain, Pumpkin, Apple pie, cinnamon, fall leaves, Chamomile, Myrrh, Frankincense, Iris, Angelica, Peony, Angelica, iris, Sandalwood
My opinion • I like her, but I'm scared of her too. (what a shocker!)
Prayers•
Historical-
Holy Queen of Sanctity, we hymn you, Hestia, whose abiding realm is Olympus and the middle point of earth and the Delphic laurel tree! You dance around Apollo’s towering temple rejoicing both in the tripod’s mantic voices and when Apollo sounds the seven strings of his golden phorminx and, with you, sings the praises of the feasting gods. We salute you, daughter of Kronos and Rhea, who alone brings firelight to the sacred altars of the gods; Hestia, reward our prayer, grant wealth obtained in honesty; then we shall always, dance around your glistening throne.
For the lost -
Blessed Hestia, the first and the last, and the always flame. May your light burn bright and strong, May your prayers be those of respect and love, May you guide the lost, And give to those who have nothing. I give thanks to you, Hestia, for all that you have done And continue to do.
For people with intrusive thoughts -
I ask Hestia, the kind goddess, to help those who feel down. May they find comfort and peace inside of their homes and inside their own minds. Protect them for their destructive thoughts, and be the safe place they need so much
A prayer for homeles—
In Hestia’s name, may you always have a home and a roof over your head. May you always be comfortable and warm with a full belly. May you always be in good spirits and good company, never knowing the pervading loneliness that envelopes the soul.
Morning
Blessed Hestia, Fill this home with your light and bounty, As the day fills it with golden sunshine.
Evening
Glorious Hestia, Let your hearth fire warm this house, As night draws her shadowed cloak over it now.
Blessings of the kitchen-
Hestia bless my little kitchen, I love it’s every nook And bless me as I do my work, Wash pots and pans and cook. May the meals that I prepare, Be seasoned from above, With thy blessings and thy grace, But most of all thy love

Sleepy Time Tea
My first agere fic <3
Pairings: Little Rain and Little Phantom and Caregiver Mountain
Words: 800
Mountain sat around in the greenhouse, enjoying the warmth it still provided despite that the sun had long set, when he spotted a Rain and Phantom running around. The light from outside now long gone, the glass encasing was filled with the gentle moonlight of the crescent moon. He put his mortar and pestle on his workstation table and turned around to the two.
“Hey, what gives guys, be quiet” Mountain spoke, irritation lounging in his voice.
“We are playing hide and seek, Mounty!!” Was Phantom’s excited chirp.
Mountain felt his face soften, the tension he was holding in his face whisked away, and he felt his lips curl into a smile.
“Ah, well, it’s quite late, little ones” he spoke, gentler.
“Nooooo. It’s not late” Rain protested, his tail wagging with delight. “Come on, Mountain, it's just a bit of fun. We promise to keep it down."
The earth ghoul chuckled at their enthusiasm, unable to resist the infectious energy of their playfulness. "Alright, alright how- “
“What are you doing, Mounty?” Phantom asked, pulling on his shirt
“I’m making some tea, little one, would you like some? I can teach you, if that would delight you?”
“Tea?!” Phantom jumped at the idea, his tail joining the swishing with Rain’s tail “Yes please Mounty!”
“Okay, little ones, how about we go get changed in something cosy, and I’ll make you some tea?” Mountain spoke, his chest rumbling with a comforting murmur.
The two ghouls scattered off, with Mountain following behind them.
“Okay Rainy, what would you like to wear?”
“Sharky!” Rainy whined, his voice breaking “I want sharky!”
“I want buggy!” Phantom responded.
“Do you mean the bat, little one?”
“Yes!!” Phantom flapped his hands in delight, clicking his tongue. Soon enough the little ghouls were clad in their onesies, Rainy was in his shark onesie, his curly hair covered with felt teeth, and Phantom danced around in his little bat one, the fabric dancing along with him, as he flapped and pranced with the wings.
“Raaar I’m a dinosaur!” Phantom spoke, excitedly.
“No you’re not!” Rain protested “You’re a bat!”
“I’m a flying dinosaur, Rainy!” Phantom spoke again, tears welling slightly in his eyes, as he lightly stomped his foot.
“Yes, you are, little one” Mountain chuckled, he gently ushered the two ghouls into the greenhouse once more, and with a flick of the light-switch the green house was now decked with gentle fairy lights all around, and a pleasant-warm ambient light, that protected their sensitive eyes from too much light.
Phantom, his bat wings flapping with excitement, exclaimed, "Mounty, what tea are you making?"
Mountain grinned down at them, his eyes twinkling. "We're making chamomile tea tonight, little ones. It's a special tea that helps you relax and sleep peacefully."
Phantom's eyes widened with curiosity. "Chamomile? Chamomile! Chamomile!” He jumped with delight as he repeated the word “Is it magic tea, Mounty?”
Mountain chuckled, "Not exactly magic, little bug, but it does have some special properties. It's known for its calming effects."
Rain, in his shark onesie, tugged at Mountain's shirt. "Can we help, Mounty? Please!"
Mountain nodded; his heart warmed by their enthusiasm. "Of course, little ones. Let's make it a team effort, you are all helpful and caring little ghouls after all.” He smiled as he spoke the words.
As the water bubbled in the kettle, Mountain directed the ghouls to pick the Chamomile flowers from a colourful jug. They inspected the delicate flowers with awe, with Rain declaring, "They look like little moons, Mounty!"
“Yes, they do, just like the moon in the sky today!” Mountain chuckled “smart ghoul”.
After carefully placing the chamomile tea bags into a teapot, Mountain poured hot water over them, filling the greenhouse with the soothing scent of chamomile.
Phantom, flapping his bat wings once more, could not keep his curiosity to himself as he asked, "How long do we wait?"
Mountain smiled, "About five minutes. It's like a little chamomile party in the pot."
The ghouls, unable to contain their excitement, chatted animatedly as they waited for the tea to steep. Mountain, his mortar and pestle momentarily forgotten, joined in their cheerful banter.
When the tea was ready, Mountain guided them through the process of removing the tea bags. Rain, his eyes wide, proceeded to somewhat yell, "Can we drink it now, Mounty?"
Mountain poured the fragrant chamomile tea into small teacups, the steam rising like a gentle mist. "Yes, little ones. But be careful, it's hot."
Phantom and Rain, cradled the warm teacups in their hands. Mountain, with a twinkle in his eye, suggested, "And if you like, you can add a bit of honey or sugar to make it even more delightful."
The little ghouls sipped the chamomile tea, their faces lighting up with joy. Phantom, his bat wings fluttering, declared, "It's like a warm hug in my tummy, Mounty!"
Mountain chuckled; the magical ambiance of the greenhouse enhanced by the shared warmth of chamomile tea. As they sipped and savoured the calming brew, the crescent moon outside seemed to smile down on their cozy gathering, turning the greenhouse into a haven of tranquility and connection.
“Mounty, I feel tired.”

🏡 mindfully thinking and living life🍃 sustainable|mindfulness practices🌿
Chamomile:
Easily available and always helpful, chamomile isn’t just for bedtime. A cup of sweetly-scented chamomile tea can calm the mind and relax the body, banishing the jitters at any time of day with the added benefit of soothing the symptoms of a nervous stomach.
Linden Flower: The unusual-looking blossoms of this common street tree can be marvellously uplifting and calming. Linden blooms around midsummer, so if you have a tree growing near you (google it, it is easy to identify) why not find a low-hanging branch and harvest a handful of flowers to make tea for a refreshing mood lift?

Nourishing the Heart of Home: A Homemaker's Guide to Warmth and Wellness
Tumblr media
In the sacred realm of homemaking, where every corner holds a story and every room echoes with warmth, there lies a beautiful tapestry of nourishment. Today, let's embark on a journey of self-care and tender gestures that not only nourish our homes, family, and kids but also nurture the radiant soul of the homemaker herself.
1. A Cozy Cup of Tea: Sipping Serenity
Begin your day with the simple ritual of a cozy cup of tea. Whether it's the earthy warmth of chamomile or the comforting hug of a chai blend, let each sip be a moment of serenity. As you cradle the cup in your hands, feel the nourishment seeping through, not just for your body but for your spirit. I love chamomile and try to have at least one cup a day. Grab my favorite organic variety here.
2. A Bath Drawn with Love: Soaking in Tranquility
Indulge in the luxury of a bath drawn with love. Enhance the experience with a sprinkle of calming lavender or invigorating eucalyptus. Let the warm water wash away the cares of the day, creating a sanctuary of tranquility within your own home.
3. Beeswax Candlelit Evenings: Illuminating Warmth
Transform your evenings with the soft glow of beeswax candles. The gentle flicker not only illuminates your space but also kindles a sense of warmth and intimacy. Allow the soothing ambiance to wrap your home in a cocoon of comfort.
4. Reading Nook Bliss: Cozy Corners for the Soul
Create a reading nook bliss for yourself. Adorn it with plush cushions, a soft blanket, and shelves of cherished books. Let it be a haven where you can escape into other worlds, even if just for a few precious moments.
5. Culinary Comfort: Nourishing with Love
In the heart of your home, the kitchen, infuse each meal with culinary comfort. Experiment with recipes that not only tantalize the taste buds but also warm the soul. Let the aroma of home-cooked goodness become the melody that lingers in the air.
6. Family Movie Nights: Shared Joy
Designate cozy family movie nights. Pile up pillows and blankets, choose a favorite film, and revel in the joy of shared laughter. These moments become the threads weaving the fabric of family bonds.
7. Nature's Embrace: Bringing the Outdoors In
Incorporate elements of nature into your home. Fresh flowers, potted plants, or even a bowl of seasonal fruits can infuse the indoors with the vitality of the outdoors. Nature's embrace nurtures both the environment and the spirit.
8. Mindful Moments: Breathing in Gratitude
Embrace mindful moments throughout your day. Pause to breathe in gratitude as you witness the sunrise, share a meal, or tuck in your little ones. These pockets of mindfulness become the anchors that ground you in the present.
Cultivating a Homestead of Wellness
As you weave these warm and cozy elements into the fabric of your home, remember that the act of nourishing extends beyond the physical. It's a dance of intention, a symphony of love, and a dedication to cultivating a homestead of wellness.
May the cozy cup of tea, the drawn bath, the beeswax candles, and every tender gesture you weave into your homemaking journey be a testament to the nurturing spirit that resides within you. As you nourish your home, family, and kids, may you find an abundance of warmth and wellness enveloping every corner of your cherished abode. 🏡✨

15 Days of Freyja Devotion
Tumblr media
Day 7: Offerings -- Historical & UPG
Freyja's historical offerings include:
Pork was a common offering for all of the Vanir, but especially Freyja and Freyr. (I personally do not offer meat to the gods unless I can find meat that was ethically slaughtered, but I know pork is still a common offering for other modern Heathens.)
Horses were also a common sacrificial animal in Old Norse society, and Freyja probably received them as offerings.
Ale, mead, and other drinks were commonly poured out for the gods, including Freyja. There is some evidence that Freyja was invoked in a toast over the couple's first drink together at Norse weddings.
Jewelry. Sacrificing jewelry by throwing it into a lake was a common Norse offering practice. As a goddess of wealth, Freyja would have welcomed offerings of fine jewelry, such as gold torcs. (I have an amber necklace dedicated to Freyja that I wear to feel connected to her.)
Weapons were sacrificed in the same way as jewelry, and Freyja may have received some of these sacrifices as a goddess of battle.
Spinning tools may have been offered to Freyja and/or Frigg. Tools were another common votive offering, and both Freyja and Frigg are associated with spinning. These tools may have been offered when asking the goddess(es) for help in domestic matters.
Human sacrifices? I would be cherry-picking if I didn't include this. The Norse did practice human sacrifice (though from what I understand it was uncommon), and some scholars believe Freyja may have received human sacrifices, especially sacrifices of kings or princes, but there isn't enough evidence to say for sure.
Some of the modern offerings I personally give Freyja are:
Apples or apple cider because of her association with apples in Swedish folklore.
Wine and sparkling wine, especially sweet wines with a lot of fruit notes. I find she is especially fond of sparkling rosé.
Coffee or tea. I like to make coffee for the gods the same way I would for a friend who is visiting. I find Freyja enjoys coffee with lots of cream and sugar and chamomile tea.
Flowers are one of my favorite springtime offerings. I like to use flowers from my own garden when I can, but I have also bought her bouquets.
Taking care of cats is another way I honor Freyja. Any time I encounter a stray cat, I check to make sure they aren't injured or sick, and if thy need medical attention, I try to capture them so I can either treat minor wounds myself or take them to the vet. (I am an experienced animal rescuer. Do not do this if you are inexperienced.) I also leave out food for stray cats in my neighborhood. If a cat repeatedly comes to my house and seems friendly and social, I adopt them. (This is how I got both of the cats I've had as an adult.)
Donating money to appropriate charities or nonprofits. I see Freyja very much as a goddess of bodily autonomy, so I have donated in her name to Planned Parenthood and NARAL Pro-Choice America as an offering before. I also try to support local organizations that do free STI testing and prevention. I work at a nonprofit that serves survivors of sexual assault, and I see this as Freyja's work as well.
A serving at my holiday feasts. I like to make a plate for any appropriate deities when I celebrate holy days. I make a plate of whatever I've cooked for me and my family and leave it on their altar.
