#NO BUT THE FACT THAT THEY ARE TREATING IT LIKE A FUCKING ABLEIST CRIME

So today in this fantastic show called "oh look! That bitch is getting mad because a cartoon again!" we will see:
As an austistic person who see herself in both Willow and Hunter, and that was really touched by her relationship because is a good example of people helping each other through the misstreatment of the society, what the fuck is wrong with the people that goes "lol huntlow is ableist because two halves makes a witch"?????? Like seriously what the fuck??? Like I'm sorry for cussing in the tag and stuff but WHAT THE FUCK?????
That is... That is the most disgusting (and im close to say that its offensive) take that I've seen about a silly ship. And I know that i shouldn't care about it but it's making me sick. Like no hear me out, they both dont have a diagnosis or something that is called "half a witch" that's some kind of slur? in the Boiling Isles, the whole "oh two halves make a whole" it's literally a metaphore and a way of appropiating that slur.
No but honey what the fuck is wrong with you???? Seriously I can't explain, all of this because your stupid queerbait isn't canon? All because our ship isn't homophobic? Writing isn't enough I need a fucking audio.
I'm literally like Amy Tan:

Can you share more about the ableism in warrior cats? I always hear it talked about but I haven't read it since I was a kid so I don't remember.
this is a complicated thing to discuss bc on some level the ableism in warrior cats has its roots in the sheer amount of value this cat society places on physical strength but here are the like. basic bullet points i guess
1. use of ableist slurs
the terms "cripple" and "lame" are used in the books, both of which are insults to the physically disabled, cripple being considered an active slur most physically disabled people agree ablebodied people shouldn't even say. i Have had one person defend this by pointing out that the characters who use the term cripple are using it As a slur: it's meant to be a depiction of jayfeather as a protagonist experiencing ableism
i countered this with pointing out that mentally disabled people do not have to worry about opening up a warrior cats book and having to read the pov character be called the r slur, nor do gay people have to worry about opening up a warrior cats book and having to see the pov be called a faggot or a queer. The issue is not the use of ableist slur itself, but instead the fact that it is the Only instance of a character being called an irl slur or curse word. i should not have to explain why it's not appropriate for books to contain slurs when they're not even allowed to say Fuck. if these were books where real life bigotry and bigoted terminology were used frequently and not only for physical disabilities, i would see no issue with jaypaw being called a cripple by two ableist jackasses
however even with that out of the way there's still the fact that disabled characters are referred to as Lame more than once, not by an ableist character, but by the Narration. that's not a character being a bigot, that's the Books being bigoted
2. disability as a plot device to serve abled characters
the most obvious instance of this is snowkit (who i often call a "walking hate crime" for this exact reason), but it's fairly consistent that disabled characters almost never solely exist for their own sake, but always to say something about the abled people around them or have an impact on those people
snowkit dies to traumatize his mother, his deafness being directly related to his death. jagged peak is made a paraplegic to demonstrate clear sky's cruelty to even his own family. briarlights paralysis is routinely shown through the lens of other people debating or discussing her worth and impact on her. cinderpelt loses movement in her leg both to emotionally impact fireheart and to be yet another person who's life has been impacted by tigerclaw. brightheart is permanently disfigured so that bluestars cruelty towards her can act as yet another step in her progression to madness, and so that firestars renaming of her can establish him as a more benevolent leader (sort of patching up his predecessors wrongdoings).
there are a few exceptions, crookedstar in particular is pretty good.
3. arc one exclusive: disability or disfigurement as a sign of menace
i generally say arc one is the best on ableism simply because it treats disability as a Fact that Will inevitably happen to all warriors (this is why basically Every elder is disabled). but there is one thing that. I think people forget? A Little?
Outside of elders, there are a decent number of arc one cats who are described as being disfigured or disabled outside of thunderclan
if i'm remembering correctly, these are crookedstar, brokenstar, deadfoot, and clawface. only two of these cats (crooked and dead) are intended to actually be Disabled (even though brokenstar has a SCI if you know how cat spines work), but all of them are meant to be visually disfigured, with brokenstar having an obviously deformed tail, and clawface having distinctive facial scarring
it's probably pretty easy to figure out why i'm bringing up broken and claw, since. they're both murderers. but here's something that's easy to miss:
crookedstar is rather consistently antagonistic in arc one and deadfoot is explicitly considered to be intimidating by fireheart. deadfoot is the least egregious, he is a deputy afterall so it makes sense fireheart is menaced by his presence, but crookedstar is very much like. he openly declares he intends to take over windclans old territory along with shadowclan. people tend to forget but riverclan is Mean in arc one, Crookedstar Included.
that's 4/4 of the non elderly disfigured characters in arc one who are meant to be somehow intimidating at best, and menacing, antagonistic, and evil at worst. not great numbers. btw the reason i'm not counting cinder and bright here is because those are previously abled characters who then Become disfigured and disabled, meanwhile these four are introduced as disfigured and/or disabled, which is a bit different from a meta perspective.
4. outside of arc one, a universal perspective that disabled characters cannot be warriors
now, this isn't really a Thing in arc one. there's only One character who is explicitly made to stop being a warrior because she's disabled, and even then it's not that she Couldn't be a warrior: her broken bone healed wrong and warrior duties would be constantly painful for her.
however after arc one there are very few New disabled characters at all, and all of them are medicine cats or elders. longtail is blinded and almost immediately retires (even though that doesn't seem super in character for him), jayfeather tries his best to be a warrior despite the complete and total uselessness of everyone around him but is eventually forced into medicine cat duties by god anyway, briarlight is genuinely just a medicine cat in all but name, and if you count shadowsight (which. honestly i don't think you should) he's also a medicine cat
i just. feel the need to point out that arc one specifically had brightheart get taught how to be a warrior by her abled boyfriend but somehow none of these cats could accommodate Themselves. I guess accommodations only exist if you're Half blind or have an abled boyfriend to save you from your own body

No but like fr hate crimes md is such a fucked up show as you get deeper into it bc yes yes house is an absolute bastard and we're told he wasn't much different prior to his leg infarction minus the pain and drug addiction. But then we find out that okay, his baseline pre-infarction self survived abuse from his father. So, not to take responsibility for his actions off his shoulders but that's some pretty major context!
And there's an element of idk. Wish fulfillment(?) for the viewer in that house is the specialest smart boy so he's allowed to say and do whatever he wants. But then literally everyone around him who is supposed to be at least some sort of friend treats him like absolute crap and is super ableist towards him and very dismissive of the fact that he is disabled and in pain. Like truly truly watching this show is just jawdropping at points bc jfc with friends like these, who needs enemies? And it also makes me wonder what the writers were going for bc house is simultaneously wish fulfillment (don't you wish you were so special your actions didn't experience consequences?) but also it feels like at all times the writers are trying to take him down a peg.
I'm not saying he should be coddled by friends or made more palatable as a character but the writers are showing their hands as being deeply ableist while writing a show with a disabled main character.
Hopefully this makes sense... Just. As someone who spent months using a cane and years in severe pain (health issues since resolved), this show hits a bit close to home sometimes.

I legitimately saw two systems (one trans, one idk if cis or trans) say that systems aren't oppressed, that sysmedicalism is transphobic because transmedicalism is worse than sysmedicalism will ever be (even if that were TRUE, that would just mean that we'd have to determine the worst form of oppression to exist and all others can then no longer be named or talked about -_-. Sorry, anything with an -ism is idk racist because racism is the worst form of oppression and words can't ever sound like each other or have similar meanings without somehow being harmful /s)
First of all: BOOTLICKERS
Second of all: the singlets aren't gonna fuck you OR stop oppressing you because you play nice for them. They're only feeding you table scraps for hunting the rest of us down because you're useful and will happily do to you what you did to us once we're gone. You're fucking trans, you should know this.
Third: You're ableist, sanist people and hugely fucking unsafe for both disabled people of all kinds and non-disabled neurodivergent people to be around. One of you admitted systems face ableism and then basically said it's nothing compared to transphobia. Quite honestly, you are not the most oppressed person in the room, and pretending you need to be for your oppression to be valid is turning you into a massive ableist.
Fourth: Everything you described of transmedicalism while trying to argue that "it's just ableism" when other systems talk about their experiences with sysmedicalism is just transphobia. No, this isn't hypocritical of me, because you're literally describing things that affect dysphoric gender conforming binary trans people as much as every other trans person.
Do you know what transmedicalism is? That transmedicalism views transness as a disorder that is treated by transitioning but only if you are a "true trans person" and not a "transtrender"? That while it also hurts binary gender conforming dysphoric trans people, it's to a lesser extent because they're "actually trans" and therefore "deserve to transition" to "treat their dysphoria"?
Fifth: Do you even understand what oppression is? Idk about you but having next to zero legal protections (only minimal ones if you are officially diagnosed, and that comes with its own set of dangers) to the point you can be fired, lose your housing, have your children taken away by CPS, be denied adoption, be forcibly institutionalized, and are at a higher risk of being denied medical care and other forms of systemic ableism, as well as at a higher risk of police violence, hate crimes, and literal murder... if you don't consider that oppression, you're a lost cause.
Finally: I don't care if you are a trans system, your experiences are not universal. Sysmedicalism has hurt me more than transmedicalism ever will, and I live somewhere that my government is trying to make all transition care completely illegal. Get this, the reason I can't afford to escape is actually due to ableism, because I can't work and already don't make enough to survive. If I were trans but not disabled, given what my career track was before I became significantly disabled, we'd be somewhere safe already most likely.
You do not get to make assertions like "transmedicalism is more harmful than sysmedicalism" as fact when that's just not the actual reality for plenty of trans systems. You are not the ultimate arbiter of what we've suffered. You CERTAINLY don't get to claim systems aren't fucking oppressed, especially when you admit systems face ableism and are therefore saying "ableism isn't oppression". You don't get to pretend ableism isn't deadly or that systems only face ableism lite.
You probably won't do any of the things I've said you need to or stop any of the stuff you have no right to do that is actively bigoted and harmful, because you're basically the system version of a trans-inclusive r/f and an assimilationist and also just the first three letters of that last word, you ass.
So in case you ever see this, go do a "fucking myself with a 1000 degree hot steel knife" challenge and maybe solder your mouth shut with the remaining metal for good measure.

Everybody on that post is recommending either the ableist and racist white savior Avatar or the murderbot Diaries and it's like please stop.
Yes, Murderbot isn't human and doesn't want to be human, but it is still very much 100% humanoid and blends in perfectly with humans especially now that it has had to alter it's fucking coding so that it has idle animations and has had to teach itself to make it look and act as human as possible.
That is not what that post was talking about.
Murderbot doesn't want to be human, but the story Martha Wells has decided to tell telling us still requires Murderbot to do everything in its power to appear human, so the sentiment falls flat, especially because so far in the six books published it has never talked about its resentment towards having to change everything about itself in order to appear human just to avoid being killed or enslaved again.
It's had to alter its coding to give itself human like idle animations. It was forced to trust a complete stranger to knock it completely unconcious and then perform surgery to chop off fucking sections of its arms and legs so that it would be a few centimeters shorter so that it wouldn't match the fucking template for constructs anymore, and had its base coding altered so that it would grow hair and have eyebrows and body hair and shit to blend in better.
Murderbot doesn't want to be human, but it is still being forced to do everything in its power (and beyond it, when it requires ART's help) to make itself appear like one, and that never actually gets dealt with, so stop fucking recommending The Murderbot Diaries on the basis that it's the world's great representation for nonhumans. It's not. It is very far from it.
An android that doesn't want to be human is the bare fucking minimum at this point, Data is a fucking ableist hate crime and I say that only partially joking. Data's entire character and concept is ableist as shit, literally just exists to tell autistic people there's something wrong with them and they aren't human and should spend all their effort trying to do better to appear like one. Wow. Almost exactly what Murderbot has to do, except Murderbot gets to say it doesn't want to be human, and...yeah that's pretty much the only difference.
Murderbot not wanting to be human is the bare fucking minimum.
The rest of the story doesn't exactly fucking do anything to celebrate... what is the fucking what is the word I'm looking for? Reinforce that? Some fucking word. Murderbot is literally not allowed to do anything to make itself look less human, the only time it gets to not pretend to be human is when it is talking to other bots using code and that is literally it. At every other point it has to pretend to be human, and never even fucking complains about it or feels any resentment.
Telling Mensah while it's incapacitated and not in its right state of mind that it doesn't want to be human or a pet bot is not the same thing as it actually getting to be pissed off about all the shit it has to go through to pretend to be something it's not.
Yes, it is a good thing that Murderbot doesn't want to be human. But that doesn't change the fact that Martha Wells is still writing the story so that it has to pretend to be one anyways, and so far has not ever acknowledged any bitterness or resentment or hatred for this fact. It has never complained about all the effort it has to do just to fucking appease humans and not stand out like a sore thumb. It has never ranted or raved even just internally, about how it shouldn't have to change, it shouldn't have to get fucking invasive surgeries that force it to trust a complete stranger while it is knocked unconscious, it shouldn't have to do all this shit and put in all this effort just to be treated as an equal.
Yet another thing Martha Wells should be doing better.
Stop recommending people read The Murderbot Diaries as though it's the world's best representation for nonhumans ever. It's literally not. There are six books out and two short stories and not once is Murderbot's nonhumanity celebrated. It is forced to pretend to be human at all times, with the only exception being when it's pretending to be a normal enslaved construct. That's not positive representation for nonhumanity.
Murderbot not being human and not wanting to be human is the bare minimum. It's only every other author and reader's human centrism (humans are fucking space orcs, anyone???) that makes it seem like a fucking radical statement.

A lot of people are talking about the fight scene with Ayo and Bucky, and a lot of people think that Ayo was right to disable Bucky’s arm. People are saying that Ayo had the right to deactivate the arm “because it was a gift.”
And that’s... not ok. It was an incredibly ableist choice to have made.
Dangerous or not, Bucky is disabled. Hydra ripped his arm out, tossed it in a ditch to rot back in the 40′s, then sewed a machine back in it’s place, and left him to accept that. Bucky fought for years to try and accept that it was part of himself. He endured being dehumanized and treated like an object for seventy years, the span of most people’s lifetimes.
And yes, what they did in Wakanda was incredible for his recovery. They gave him a new arm - one not tainted by Hydra - and they finally broke him free of the trigger words. That was huge for him, and nothing could ever possibly compare to that gift.
But it was just that: a gift. One that gave him his sense of self back, one that finally made him feel like he was more than what Hydra made him. They did it to help him heal, not because they expected something of him. And with Ayo disabling Bucky’s arm, you’re telling people, “Yes, it’s ok to take away someone’s ability to interact with the world, if you gave it to them. Your emotions are more important. They don’t deserve their sense of humanity if you’re angry.”
It’s irrelevant who made it. That’s his fucking arm.
Imagine if instead, she had cut off Sam’s arm. People would be losing their minds about how inhumane it would be. So why isn’t Bucky getting the same sympathy? It’s beyond inhumane to take someone’s crutches, or hearing aides, or their medication. But we’re talking about a limb, a huge part of his physical body. And to take it away just because the person is being inconvenient? It’s almost comically cruel, especially because so much focus was given to proving how skilled and resourceful the Dora are. So if someone with a different kind of aid doesn’t deserve to have that ability taken away, if someone with a flesh limb doesn’t deserve to have it removed, then why would Bucky?  It should have been solved a different way. Especially since Ayo saw firsthand what Bucky went through.
The fact that it can be put back is honestly baseless. A normal arm can’t just be sewn back on; this was a happy accident, and only because he lost his in first place. And again, if it had been Sam’s arm instead, people would be reacting very differently. Actions have implications. The morality of Zemo needing to answer for his crimes aside, there were a lot of ways that situation could have been handled. Zemo could have been dealt with afterwards.
Gift or not, by disabling the arm, Ayo took away part of Bucky’s identity, his body, and treated him like an object, like he was nothing. The exact same way that Hydra did. And the fact that people agree with that choice says a lot about how society views people with mental and physical disabilities, and how they get dehumanized on a regular basis, because of this lack of understanding.
And we can do a whole lot better than this

Hi sorry if this was already asked before but could you explain a little further abt the things devsis has done?? I haven’t heard abt a lot of the stuff you mentioned I don’t mean to sound rude or anything I’m just genuinely wondering
I can tell you mean it genuinely, it’s okay! I’m happy to answer because you want to know. I’ll go through everything I said.
The Valentine’s 2021 fanart video, posted on the official CR YouTube channel, is a compilation of fanart drawn for Valentine’s Day that fanartists submitted. Some of the art submitted was chosen BY DEVSISTERS and put in the video, but not all art made it in. Two pedophilic ships, Red Bean x Snow Sugar and Roguefort x Walnut, were featured in the video. Red Bean x Snow Sugar was featured TWICE. Snow Sugar and Walnut are confirmed to be children while Red Bean and Roguefort are HEAVILY implied to be adults. Devsisters allowed the pedophilic ships to be shown in a fanart video for a holiday primarily about romantic love, therefore putting their seal of approval on these pedophilic ships. Despite fans saying it should be taken down, the video is still up as of today.
Related to the video and Devsisters’ promotion of fanart on official Twitter accounts, they are known to promote fanart that whitewashes the Cookies. This applies to not only Cookies like Cocoa and Mint Choco, who are clearly black, but also Cookies that are tan, like Alchemist. This approval of whitewashing has been going on for literal years, and when an artist was called out for a piece that Devsisters promoted, Devsisters sided with the artist and claimed that they should be respected rather than made to understand why whitewashing is bad.
Both the Dreamy Cookie Land event and the 2021 April Fools GingerBrave Trial contain sections that are known to harm photosensitive people by either giving them seizures or seriously hurting their eyes and causing immense discomfort and pain. While Devsisters altered the maps in Dreamy Cookie Land to make them less likely to hurt these people, the 2021 April Fools Trial has not changed. Devsisters should have made sure these maps were safe BEFORE publishing them to thousands of people (or more).
Devsisters misgenders its own characters on official Twitter accounts and in game notifications. Squid Ink Cookie was referred to as “she” on a Puzzle World Twitter post, despite this Cookie never having pronouns anywhere in the game. Mocha Ray Cookie was referred to with “she” in a game notification despite having no pronouns listed anywhere in the game, including cutscenes. Devil Cookie was referred to with “he” in a Twitter post despite the game canonically using only “they/them” for them. In addition, a statement from the Thai branch of the Devsisters team claimed that you can use any pronouns for a Cookie since they are born sexless (and they conflated sex with gender). This gives transphobes the “right” to misgender canonically nonbinary characters. Lastly, before the Guild update and before OvenBreak, Dark Choco and Cinnamon had no pronouns. After the Guild update, Cookies referred to Dark Choco as “he”, and in OvenBreak, Cinnamon’s Story uses “he” for them. This erases two canonically nonbinary characters, as cis people will see “he” being used for them and assume they are male rather than he/they nonbinary people.
Devsisters is not subtle about their homophobia, as well as their goal of appealing to cishets who hate gay people. They show their homophobia in how straight ships are treated compared to gay ships. Firstly, in the Valentine’s fanart video, there were mostly straight ships. I believe I counted only 4 or so gay ships, and 3 of these were either selfcest or pedophilia. Despite the majority of the art being shown being heterosexual, many people who regularly follow the CR tag on Twitter and Instagram claim that there was a lot more gay ship art submitted compared to the proportion shown in the video. The gay ship art shown was also ambiguous enough that cishets who hate gay people wouldn’t get mad at Devsisters, while some of the heterosexual art was blatantly romantic. Secondly, the treatment of ships like RaspRose and PrincessKnight, popular straight ships, is much better than the treatment of popular gay ships by Devsisters. For example, RaspRose got a merchandise item in a set of cups that also featured a cup with Sea Fairy and Moonlight and Orange and Lime. The RaspRose art on the cup is explicitly romantic. The art on the Sea Fairy and Moonlight and Orange and Lime cups are ambiguous or platonic instead, despite both of these ships being historically far more plausible and popular than RaspRose. Finally, Devsisters has been gaybaiting with Madeleine Cookie and Espresso Cookie in Kingdom, but they refuse to make them canon because that would be gay. Gaybaiting is homophobic in itself for using gay people as a way to advertise something without fulfilling the promise of gay representation. It’s also worth mentioning that they once gaybaited with Milk and Purple Yam on Twitter, but the art shown was not romantic at all, and only the caption hinted at a ship (and the caption was vague enough to be interpreted as the Cookies merely appearing in an art piece together).
Multiple black CR fans have spoken out and said that Purple Yam Cookie is a racist caricature of black men, ESPECIALLY when he is juxtaposed with Milk, a white man. Indian and Middle Eastern CR fans have spoken out and said that Yogurt Cream Cookie and Lilac Cookie are caricatures of Indian and Middle Eastern people. These are not debatable. Google the history of the portrayal of black men in non-black media, and you’ll see what I mean for Purple Yam. The evidence that Yogurt Cream is a caricature comes from the very fact that people compare him to Aladdin, specifically Disney’s version of the tale, thereby showing that their only exposure to Indian and Middle Eastern people is stereotypes in white media. Note also that Dark Choco Cookie is the stereotype of a solemn, lonely, strong black person, and this has leaked into the fandom so much that people draw them unrealistically buff and mostly draw them suffering from angst instead of having any actual character.
There was an IRL sex crime in South Korea perpetrated by a club called the Burning Sun, and a certain Guild named itself after that club and changed their usernames to the names of the people who committed these crimes. They were only forced to change their names by Devsisters AFTER people protested. They were NOT forced to disband the Guild or banned from the game. Keep in mind that these people named themselves after a REAL-LIFE SEX CRIME that harmed REAL WOMEN AND GIRLS, and the only punishment they got was a forced name change. Fuck Devsisters.
Lastly, the trigger joke. Back when Ion Cookie Robot and Cyborg Cookie were new, the official CR Twitter account made a Tweet captioned as “triggered”, and below that caption was a GIF of Ion Cookie Robot becoming angry and shifting to their Red Dread Costume, thereby implying that Ion Cookie Robot was “triggered” and became unreasonably angry. This was posted during the time when ableists were using the term “triggered” as a “meme”, which harms people with PTSD. The Tweet was deleted, and another Tweet was made that apologized for the previous Tweet, but this was only after backlash from fans. However, notice that Purple Yam Cookie is also a trigger joke. He has PTSD from being burned alive in the Oven for so long, and as a result he is easily angered (anger is his stress response). The game treats this as a joke and minimizes his suffering just because other Cookies were in the Oven (before coming to life). His anger is treated as unreasonable and unwarranted, and it’s treated as a joke. Does that sound familiar? Now take into account that his anger is juxtaposed with Milk’s “kind”, “gentle” demeanor. Yikes.
BONUS ROUND:
DevSam, a worker at Devsisters, once said that GingerBrave had a Costume in LINE that was a “sexy cat costume”. GingerBrave is a minor, and the Costume was literally not sexy at all. Why did they refer to him as sexy if he’s a minor??
Images from an official CR account showed a person dressed as GingerBrave giving gifts to a person dressed as Pink Choco Cookie, a Cookie associated with romantic love. This can be easily interpreted as romantic and is therefore pedophilic because GingerBrave is a child and Pink Choco Cookie is an adult. Why post this at all??
Buttershell Fox referred to Maple Panda with a word that was VERY close to a slur against black people in the original text of the Secrets of the Hidden City cutscenes. This was only changed when a popular Twitter user let everyone know about it and asked people to email Devsisters about it.
I can provide links and screenshots for proof if needed, but please DM me or send an ask to ask for these. I’m definitely forgetting other things they’ve done that are bad, but this already should be enough to raise eyebrows.

I really appreciate blogs like yours, because I really want to get out of being a terf - it's alienating, being on the "wrong side of history" - but none of you ever have any compelling arguments, so it really just reinforces that I'm right. You're in the grips of self-loathing and mental illness - no healthy person wishes they could live in a completely null sexless body - and you're throwing your lot in with people who will pat your ass and won't criticize you. Sad.
You started this off so well and then descended rapidly into a pit of condescension and self-congratulation that makes me really not give a shit about trying to help you not feel alienated.
Social alienation is common among conservatives, Republicans, racists, and other bigoted horrible people because for the most part the only people who can tolerate them are the ones who share their bigoted and horrible view. Alienation is also common among FITs. Hmmmmm…
Yes, I am mentally ill. Many trans people are. According to the American Psychological Association, gender dysphoria is in itself a mental illness — one which is treated through social and/or medical transition. Many trans people also have mood disorders, anxiety disorders, PTSD, and eating disorders, all of which spring from societal ideas about and treatment of trans people, not because being trans is a mental illness. There are even some studies suggesting that existing as a trans person in a transphobic society can be traumatizing, even if one never directly experiences any transphobic hate crimes.
Similarly, many trans folk are neurodivergent, most commonly autistic, although some people’s understanding of their gender is impacted by ADHD, Tourette’s, or OCD. Autistic people tend to see the world in very different ways from neurotypical people, and process information differently. As a result, we generally have different understandings of gender, including what it is, what it means, and how it impacts us, that neurotypicals couldn’t. That’s why the term ‘autigender’ exists. In fact, some studies have placed the number of trans people who are also autistic as high as 75%. (Citation needed; if any of my followers can find the study where I read that I’d love to put that link in here.)
Point being, condemning all mental illness as a devaluation of the person and making broad bullshit claims like yours is fucking ableist. Have a nice day :)

I’m rereading Vicious and after knowing everything about Vengeful everything that Eli did on vicious makes so much sense.
The first time I read Vicuous I always wondered what exactly went through Eli’s head, what was he thinking? When he looked for Victor when Victor was about to replicate his experiment? Was Eli concerned about Victor or was Eli was acting for selfish reasons? What was he thinking and feeling after he got his powers? What was he thinking when Victor attacked him and why was he so quick to think Victor was a devil in disguise? What was his last thought when he was about to become an Eo and how does it relate to healing? What was his thought process when he was trying to give up his life to god and when he decided that killing EOS was the “right” thing to do?
And after reading Vengeful everything becomes so much clearer, his last thought was probably about how he wanted to be “healed and saved” he internalized so some much religious trauma that it affected the way he acted and his thogught porcess, he witnessed his mother suicide on a bathtub and that’s probably why he chose that method both times before and after becoming an EO, his father used to beat him as a kid because he supposedly “had the devil in him” and he does feels like one through his life, doing his best to act as “normal” as possible.
His mother death also explains why he was so worried about Victor and even in the first book Eli talks very fondly of him even referring to him as his best friend and he explains to Serena he thinks Victor died and something sinister replaced him after becoming an EO and this conclusion although rash, it make sense he would try to rationalize and in a way justify the awful things that Victor did after turning into an EO.
And even in vengeful he started imagining Victor to kept him company when he was going through hell, he admits to himself that Victor was the only person who ever truly “saw” him and understood him, pretty much confirming that the “rivalry” Victor and Eli had was mostly one-sided and Eli really did loved him and consider him his best friend.
This also explains his weird behavior towards Victor when Vic himself was trying to turn himself into an EO, Eli witnessed his mother death and probably didn’t wanted the same to happen to Victor after Eli himself almost died trying to recreate it.
The first book also explains that he tried to take his life a second time after Victor got arrested begging for God to take away his power if it had been a mistake, he seemed to externalize all of this negative experience and feelings through his purpose of exterminating the EOS because he sincerely believed that was the right thing to do, his faith although horribly used and mishandled seemed to be genuine based on how we was him literally begging to god to take his life back if everything had been a mistake.
Everyone one of his actions seem to be driven by his childhood and religious trauma and it’s incredible sad to me, he wan’t a sociopath or a psychopath he was just very broken and delusional individual.
And his experience with Serena who forced herself into him also didn’t helped the whole “EOS are devils in disguise” perspective , even since I read the first book (when I didn’t knew anything about Eli yet) I was very repulsed by what Serena was doing to him, to the point that even though I greatly disliked Eli at first I kind of hated Serena more for what she was doing to him. I am also a little disappointed in how the fandom barely acknowledges that what Serena did to Eli was incredibly wrong and messed up.
I have already said this, but the fandom seems to treat Eli very unkindly, they brush over all of his story and just label him as a “sociopath” or “psychopath” barely understanding and completely missing the point of why he behaved the way that he did.
I don’t mind if people hate his character, I did so at first, but the way everyone brush over all of his trauma and the way people completely misinterpreted his character and actions don’t set up right with me.
It’s a little surprising how people can praise Serena, Victor and Marcella despite their awful actions while they hate on Eli for the same reason, overall Eli seems to have been the one to receive the shorter end of the stick by the fandom.
honestly I've read this so many times because you're so right and it's such a relief to know that somebody else out there is capable of critical thinking skills lmao. I think the problem with people's response to Eli is that they think his backstory is an excuse, when in actual fact it's an explanation. go figure, kids who grow up in abusive households will turn into adults with a boatload of issues, and some of those issues are more likely than not going to cause harm of their own. it's totally possible to be both a victim and someone who causes harm; yes, Eli thinks he's in the right, but his actions are still wrong. it's possible to understand both of these things and it's possible to still like his character and sympathise with him, while still understanding that damn, he maybe needs to chill on the serial killing.
it wouldn't bother me as much if people didn't think that Victor was absolutely innocent. people seem to revere him, and it's because in the narrative he's set up as Eli's opposite. the whole point of the story is that there's no good men in the game, but because Victor wants to stop Eli, people see him as the good guy and overlook how cruel he was to Eli throughout their entire friendship, and also how cruel he is to the others. (Mitch is probably the only one there of his own free will. Sydney was an injured 12-year-old child when Victor picked her up, and he did so only because she had information that he wanted -- his first thought was to torture it out of her, but when she gave it willingly and kind of hero-worshipped him in the way a neglected child would hero-worship their saviour, he decided she could stay. Dominic is there by force, because he's a disabled man in constant chronic agony that Victor fixes with his EO abilities, and if he does something to displease Victor or leaves him, Victor has threatened to bring the pain back even worse.) people rewrite both Eli and Victor's personalities to fit this, with Eli being cast as this unfeeling psychopath and Victor the person standing up to his evil, and in actual fact Eli is absolutely not a psychopath -- he's a traumatised adult recovering from a highly abusive childhood -- and Victor is not standing up to evil; he's settling a score. a score he kind of started in the first place, by being a jealous asshole towards Eli's thesis, trying to dominate it because his own sucked, seeking glory off the back of Eli's hard work, and then when he succeeded in his goals and became an EO, immediately murdering Eli's girlfriend and torturing Eli because he was jealous Eli's idea was correct. like, Victor Vale is a little bitch, on god. the reason it ended like this was because he was a god-awful friend to Eli, who was literally Victor's only true friend because he was the only person who would put up with him. go figure that the only person who could deal with Victor's behaviour was a grown abused child. nobody who hadn't been indoctrinated into believing that behaviour was acceptable would ever voluntarily deal with Victor.
literally every decision and action Eli takes can be traced back to his trauma, but go figure that nobody on this website can treat trauma with the nuance it deserves. people on this site seem to think that if you're traumatised you're always innocent and vulnerable; if anyone acts outside of this idea, they're written off. I take Eli's treatment very personally because I've seen people quite literally do this to real life people, myself included. because I wasn't a quiet, easy-to-deal-with traumatised person, I got all kinds of shit. it's the exact same with Eli. because he acts badly, because he does bad things, people seek to dehumanise him and set him aside because he apparently makes abuse survivors look bad or whatever -- when in actual fact acting badly is a very common response among abuse survivors, because we were brought up in an environment where that was normal and we don't know otherwise. not to mention the fact that the kind of mental illness Eli shows -- PTSD, mainly -- has many symptoms that make for unpleasant actions. it's not a crime to show the impact these things have, but people take it so personally. I've even seen people say it's ableist to portray characters like Eli because it gives people with trauma or mental illness a bad name, but no. that's literally not how it works. people with trauma and people with mental illness act badly, they fuck up, they can abuse people, sometimes they do harm or even kill people. ignoring this isn't going to get us anywhere, and if anything's ableist, it's looking at a clearly traumatised, mentally ill person and saying that he's a psychopath and evil and irredeemable. like, come on.
Eli didn't catch a single break for his whole life. everyone he's ever met has abused him horribly. you don't have to like him, but the people who can look at this and see nothing sympathetic about him? genuinely I don't trust them.

I think a lot of writers need to understand that, when writing a mentally ill character, the “mentally ill” part shouldn’t be tacked on as an explanation of their morally unsound actions but as an explanation of their behavior in general. In a respectful way that is.
Yes, I’m saying this because I’ve gotten back into Gotham Rogues, a fandom in which basically all of the characters are both mentally ill AND literal supervillains. And I get the feeling a lot of both the writers and the fan base for the Gotham Rogues must think either that mental illness alone is directly or indirectly affecting a lot of their actions regardless of context AT BEST, or that being neurodivergent makes you evil AT WORST. Fortunately this is more of a problem in the canon, but the fandom sometimes irks me a lot in this respect. Like. DC comics IS ableist. You can, amazing but true, write mentally ill villains as long as you don’t make the mental illness be the responsible and even then the mentally ill bad guy trope is so pervasive, sometimes it’s better to let go. It’s not a coincidence a lot of the gimmick-y one-shot villains don’t get much personality besides “oh they’re unhealthily obsessed with [insert inane shit here]”. GRANTED these villains were created in the 40s, and, true, erasing disabilities is wrong, but seriously, if the only way you can fathom writing an ND villain is by deliberately doing so that THE bad thing is them being “””””crazy””””” or “”””””weird”””””” and not the fact that they’ve turned to violent crime for one reason or another... then for the love of god erase their disability you’ll literally won’t fuck it up that way?????
The worst part is, BATMAN, THE HERO, IS NEURODIVERGENT TOO, LITERALLY HE HAS CANON PTSD AND DEPRESSION AND BELIEVES HES A BAT IN SOME MEDIA BUT APPARENTLY ITS ONLY BAD TO BE SAD AND WEIRD AS FUCK WHEN YOURE DOING CRIMES BECAUSE OF WHATEVER OR HAVE “UGLY” SYMPTOMS! So, this is not a case of DC deciding only the bad guys are mentally ill, or the only ND rep being bad. It is a case of them deciding Bruce Wayne reacting to his childhood trauma by pretending to be a vampire and disassociating and having flashbacks and being triggered is tragic, but Harvey Dent reacting to his childhood trauma by splitting is Extremely Fucked Up And Definitely The One Thing That Makes Him Kill People Totally in true evil alter trope fashion like. Ironically half of the time.
The same goes for pretty much every villain but The Riddler, the Mad Hatter, and Two-face are the most obvious examples I can think of rn because they’ve actually got like, a diagnosis (WHEN DC BOTHERS TO GIVE THEM ONE THAT IS LMAO) instead of a throwaway “oh they’re insane and WEiRd lmao imagine caring so much about [insert inane shit here] 🤪” . Because DC kinda likes to parade this fact around for angst points all like “SERIAL KILLER HAS OCD THATS WHY HE LEAVES EVIDENCE!!!!!” or “INCEL THINKS HES FICTIONAL CHARACTER ISNT THAT FUCKED UP AND SHOCKING?”. Probably not realizing saying what amounts to “HEY! THIS BAD GUY HAS A DEBILITATING MENTAL ILLNESS WHICH CONDITIONS A LOT OF THEIR CRIMES” is not the amazing bigbrained plot point they think it is.
TLDR: DC And part of its fanbase have an ableism problem in which mentally ill heroes get closure and a shred of respect but mentally ill villains, even when the writer doesn’t entirely blame their evil in their illness, get to be ogled at in a very voyeuristic fashion instead, as if the shocking part of their mentality was the one thing they have no control over. “Cointidentially”, and by that I mean It’s deliberate, villains, unlike heroes, usually show their illness in socially “unacceptable” ways- while Batman’s own self-destructive behavior, that would be treated as incoherent and ShOCKing if he were evil, is seen as sad.

Hope this is okay to ask but I was wondering what your thoughts are on the way Tyrion is treated by some of the fandom, especially Cersei stans? I feel he is held to a different standard to other male characters and as someone with an invisible disibility irl it makes me a bit uncomfortable. I’ve seen many “Lannister stans” who either hate him or want to ignore he exists.
sure it’s okay to ask don’t worry ;)
that said: when it comes to tyrion’s fandom treatment especially on tumblr there’s like a whole bunch of like... WE’RE ABLEIST BUT MASKING IT BEHIND FAKE WOKE ARGUMENTS crap going on because not counting the fact that show!tyrion has been what he was since S5 bc dnd can’t obviously write him and stopped giving peter decent material after then and it shows, but like... show!tyrion being nowhere near as complex as the book version is a problem that 99% of the show characters had so I don’t think it’s like a valid argument:
the premise is that tyrion is outside like TUMBLR and the likes circles a clear fan favorite when it comes to the general audience if not the fan favorite - like there’s more tyrion merch than idk jon snow merch and maybe maybe he was 50/50 with dany but like... I think that if we did a general poll tyrion would come out as the most liked character, which... I mean fair tyrion is an a+ character and he’s extremely relatable on a whole shitload of levels and let me tell you if a disabled character is for once the main fan favorite I won’t complain:
problem is beyond the fact that he’s disabled he’s... about everything tumblr hates in the sense that a) man, b) (presumably) straight man who has a lot of sex to deal with his issues, c) his issues are not exactly pleasant to deal with, d) not Standard Attractive, e) basically his one trump card is outsmarting people so it’s really easy to attach the whole AH MANIPULATING SCHEMING ASSHOLE argument to him, f) an abuse victim from at least his father and cersei but we all know men can’t be abused on this website *rolleyes* plus he hates the shit out of cers/ei which like.. is apparently the cardinal sin and the key to being labeled a misogynist always, which automatically means that when it comes to tumblr asoiaf fandom nine times on ten people will ignore the fact that his disability is a reason people discriminate him and that the treatment he received because of it gave him TRAUMA and start going like AH BUT HE’S A MAN AH BUT HE’S RICH which... doesn’t mean he can’t be traumatized even if he has male and money privilege;
for what it’s worth anyway bc as stated okay being a lannister did mean that he had a better upbringing/situation economically than a commoner with dwarfism but that doesn’t make his abuse any less damaging, but people on here just... don’t seem to get it;
but yeah like the point is that male chars on tumblr are already held at different standards than female ones (again theon gets more shit than cersei ever had for doing a lot less horrid stuff) but tyrion as... the mega fan favorite especially in within the male fanbase (reddit/w-org and the likes) is held to an extra standard in the sense that if the dudebro faction likes him then he’s BAD NEWS, which means that the fact that he’s disabled and that it affects his life is thoroughly ignored because they have to cry about how he has male privilege over c. and so she can’t abuse him (which... lmao the day I read that shit in S2 I was so out, but whatever);
anyway thing is: ‘lannister stans’ in my experience is a thing that like... is weird in this fandom because actually I never met a supposed lannister stan who likes all of them or who doesn’t ignore some exist, like.. usually most lannister stans who pretend tyrion doesn’t exist are either c. stans or tywin stans or both and don’t get me started on how this fandom has a weirdass tywin worship thing going on for which they think tyrion killing him is an unforgivable crime when it was basically what that asshole deserved and the narrative is having tyrion go in the downward spiral for shae not for tywin. c. stans usually say they also stan jaime but like... they stan whichever version of jaime they think exist that is compatible for a book ending that has the murder suicide thing happening that doesn’t exist in the books and they ignore tyrion exists same as their fave, but then again here we fall back in the pit where everything c. specifically does is seen as either fight against the patriarchy or feminist rebellion or trauma justification on account of c. being a woman and if a man does it it’s horrid or if she does it to a man then it doesn’t matter, so like... it’s a lost cause;
anyway like if someone say they’re a lannister stan and ignore tyrion when whether they like it or not tyrion is the only lannister in the main five povs (which i’d like to remind everyone are jon dany tyrion arya and bran regardless of whoever is everyone’s fave) and the one that has most narrative weight then like... just say you like c. or tywin and go;
tldr: while I think that the show did tyrion a lot of dirt in order to make him more... idk cleaned up when the book character is good as it is, tumblr fandom is swimming deep in ableism and denying that men can be abused and affected by that when it comes to tyrion’s treatment, never mind in the neverending absolutely shallow argument that’s everywhere in asoiaf fandom which is that no one outside specific group of people has understood that one of the key messages of these books is ‘how you look outside doesn’t mean shit about your personality and people who aren’t standard attractive are people with needs and personality who also deserve love and have a lot to give and will meet someone who’ll give it to them’, because the race is basically shipping beautiful ppl together even if it makes sense and negating at all turns that brienne/arya/tyrion/sandor/anyone else who’s not standard attractive are like... viable romantic partners on an even level with whoever so there’s that too, but like I think that on tumblr it shows that ppl are extremely hypocritical when it comes to tyrion and that it shows that their wokeness stops at the surface bc if you read those books and miss The Fucking Point when it comes to tyrion’s disability... text comprehension where have you gone ;)
also when it comes from c. stans** I just sigh and roll my eyes but then again c. stans generally think c. is the only person in these books with justified issues and trauma reaction and downplay not only how she abuses others but also the effects on the ppl she abuses whether they’re men or women so like... they don’t even admit how she is with jaime do we think they’d admit it for tyrion? doubt that.
**before everyone else jumps on me: with c. stans I mean the vocal side of c. standom where almost everyone is like that and from whom I never saw once an acknowledgment that she actually did abuse him (or anyone kllkjkgdj), not whichever c. stan around who likes her because she’s terrible/recognizes that she’s bad etc, I mean no ill will, if you didn’t feel called out reading it it wasn’t about you, peace and love.

I still don’t know who to vote for?
This election is going to be a weird and frustrating one. It is the first presidential general election where I am an Anarcho-Syndicalist. And this election in the darkest timeline has a Fascist as the incumbent. But the candidate that is opposing Donald Trump is Joe Biden. Almost everyone's last pick in the primary. The only worst candidate during this primary was Michael Bloomberg, who was trying to buy his way into the election. Possible to take votes away from Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders, but that is damning with faint praise that Joe Biden is better than Michael Bloomberg.
The most likely results of this election are either the continued reign of a dictatorial Fascist, causes and continuing chaos and mayhem, or just straight up Neo-Liberalism. We are going back to a normal under Obama, which was terrible as well. Just not as awful as under Fascism. And we won't fix the problems that allowed Trump to rise to power. Since those are core systematic problems that the current Democratic Establishment is not interested in correcting. And the Republican party is just worse as they are OK with Fascism. Some of them want Fascism.
And let's not forget, serval people have very good personal reasons not to vote for Joe Biden. Joe Biden helped co-wrote the 1994 crime bill. In some issues, he was to the right of Regan on drug enforcement of the Drug war. He was always the most conservative Democrat in the Senate during his time there. He voted against busing 19 times. That is why many Leftists say that Joe Biden is Republican-lite. He is just the 'correct' color for Liberals and is the candidate the Democratic party chooses. So yea, there are two Republican tickets this election. The difference is one is not Fascist. Liberals know this. They are just in denial or flat out refuse to believe it. Because boy, don't say that Joe Biden and his running mate are anything but Progressive to them. Because they really hate that. "I think it is unfair to Joe Biden to judge him by International standards. I would prefer that he is judge by American Political standards," one Liberal said. Why can't Liberals admit that America's Political standards are shit?
Liberals have to believe that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are progressives because they can only think of voting for progressives and progressive causes. They can't accept they are voting for a Conservative on the Democrat ticket, because they would have to admit that the Democratic party has moved towards the right as has American's Overton Window. Joe Biden is against Medicare 4 All. On that issue, he is to the right of Boris Johnson and other conservatives of the UK and Canada. Liberals have to believe they are voting for progressives on the Democrat ticket. Because if they didn't, they would lose faith in the whole Ameican Electoral system as well as Reform. It is almost like Capitalist Realism. People can imagine the end of the World before they can imagine the End of Capitalism. Liberals probably have an easier time visualizing the end of the World before they could imagine a different system than the current governance of Liberal Capitalist Democracy.
Let's not forget, something we already know, that Joe Biden is a bit creepy. He is a Patriarch and treats women differently than men. Whenever he meets families at the White House who have sons and daughters, he would say to the sons, "You have a critical job. You got to protect your sister from all of the boys. That is something my Dad told me." The women must be protected, and it is the men who must do the protecting. Joe Biden has a habit of creepily smelling women and girls' hair and touching their bodies on the waist and shoulders. Serval women have said that Joe made them feel uncomfortable. And this was all before Tara Reade allocations.  #IBelieveTaraReade.
As for Kamala Harris, she did put trans women in men's prison, which resulted in one of them getting killed. "Kamala Harris couldn't do a thing." Is something Liberals need to stop saying. What they really mean is, "Kamala Harris choose to uphold an unjust system by blindly following rules instead of using her power and influence to change them." She attempted to block two Trans women's requests to get gender confirmation surgeries. Which, as far as I know, she hasn't really made amendments for. She wasn't good about slowing down The New Jim Crow. She was fierce to Sex Workers too. One of my comrades said, "As a trans woman and a Sex Worker, how should I feel about voting for Kamala Harris." She increased convictions for things like merely drug procession. She also wanted to jail parents for truancy. She has been called the Democrats Top Cop. Someone who is "Tough on Crime." Just like how Bill Clinton and Joe Biden were in the 90s. And that still has devastating effects on Black and Brown communities.
So many people have many good reasons not to want to vote for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. And Liberals want to think that they simply "have their flaws." Again, I think it is just all to make it easier for them to be excited to vote for them. All of those issues, including their voting record on increasing Military spending too, are "merely flaws." And they will also shame people into voting for Biden/Harris with, "It is the lesser of two evils." Which again, is more of an indictment of the system we have. "But we have an election, and we should all vote." So we can't talk about changing the system right now during an election. So when can we talk about change this entire system? And Just like with 2016, "A vote for a third party or a no vote is a vote for Trump."
Further shaming us into voting for Biden/Harris. "Do you want four more years of Trump?" FUCK YOU AND SHOVE THAT DISINGENUOUS QUESTION UP YOUR ASS!!
Merely bringing up all of these complaints are being associated with supporting Trump. Another by-product of the binary way of thinking with the Two-Party system and First Past the Post voting. Liberals have 'accepted' Biden/Harris is the ticket. And they honestly wish we do too. And since we are vocal with our complaints, they hate us for not 'accepting' Biden/Harris is the ticket. They hate us for not 'accepting' the way the system is as it is. "I have accepted all of this. Why haven't you?" This can explain how so many Liberals would go "URG" at the thought of Joe Biden as President back in January during the Primaries to skipping to the polls to vote for Biden for the General Election. "Well, he won the primary." "I get to vote Trump out of Office" is more what it is about and not how great Biden is. They tell themselves how great Biden and Harris will be as a recon.
And with all of the shaming us into voting for Biden/Harris, instead of voting for the Green Party or not voting, it completely ignores the fact we did vote for Hillary in 2016. She 2.8 million more votes. But it is the Electoral College that gave Donald Trump in the win. Plus, in Washington State, my state, four of the Electors didn't vote for Hillary Clinton when they were 'supposed to.' Washington State is likely to go blue again. So I don't know if it is essential for Me to vote for Biden/Harris. The fivethirtyeight poll from Sept. 22 shows Washington voting for Biden at 58% vs Trump at 36%. A 22 point difference. I think I can safely vote for Howard Hawkins and feel like I didn't help Trump win. But that won't be what Liberals think.
Now with all that said, Donald Trump is still a Fascist wannabe Dictator. He is almost the worst. His administration is just letting massive amounts of people died because of Covid-19. He is encouraging people to shoot BLM protestors. He told the Proud Boys to "stand back and stand by," at the first Presidential Debate.  He said there wouldn't be a peaceful transferal of power because there won't be a transferal, but a continuation. Donald Trump has sewn doubts about voting by mail. He will doubt any kind of election results where he doesn't win. So Liberals argue we most vote in such high numbers to show that it is the will of the people they want him out of office. To which he can easily say "Fake News." He did doubt the 2016 popular vote results claiming 3 million "illegals" cast fraudulent votes.
Another convincing argument is we most show that Trump's ideas can't win elections. Because if it continues to win elections, more people will adopt Trump's views and policies. It is sort of convincing. But since a Qanon supporter will win a seat in the House of Representatives, becoming a rising star in the GOP Party. The GOP Party has backed Trump throughout his time in office, Trump's views and policies will continue whether he wins or not. Even if Trump loses, we are not out of the woods yet. Not by a long shot. Trump base will still be here in this White Supremacist CisHetro Patriarchal Ableist country of the United Corporations of Imperialism. Who will always vote for the GOP and are not going away. Many Democrats will even speak highly of them. Nancy Pelosi prays for the Republicans. Liberals believe having an opposition is part of a functioning Democracy. Will the GOP no longer be Fascist? I doubt it.
"We have to get rid of Trump at all costs." I understand that urge. But the system gave us Trump and protected him. So how is voting and participating within the same system supposed to help? I know that Liberals think voting is very powerful because "So many people had to fight for their basic right to vote." And that is all true. The GOP only wins because of dirty tricks like gerrymandering and voter suppression. Hence, Trump is encouraging his base to watch the polling stations for "suspicious people wanting to commit voter fraud" and "rig" the election. It is straight voter intimidation and is happening already in Virginia. Part of the convincing reason to get Trump out of the White House. Biden will not encourage White Supremacist of all types to commit acts of violence against "The Radical Left terrorists" and "Antifa."  Antifa is not an organization; it is an idea. Even Biden got that right.
Knowing how terrible Trump is, brings me back to Biden and how bad he is. Not as bad. Trump and Biden aren't the same. Trump is a Fascist while Biden is a Neo-Liberal, and Neo-Liberalism isn't Fascism. Neo-Liberalism just leads to Fascism, as we have already seen with Trump. I simply see Neo-Liberalism worse than how Liberals see it. Not enough to make a false equivalent, but still. Remember, if Trump loses, he could pull a Grover Cleaveland and run again in 2024. Imagine that.
What bothers me the most about Liberals changing their opinion of Biden, by the mere fact he won the primary, is that Biden is granted votes from Democrats and Leftists. I am sure Democrats do love old Uncle Joe. There were a lot of memes from the Obama years. And many Liberals just love Obama. Even though they fully well know about his War Crimes. It is that acceptance that I don't have in me. "Well, he is the candidate. So I will support him to get rid of Trump." And what makes it worse, Biden isn't really offering anything as well. He is against the Green New Deal. He is against Medicare-4-all, even during a Pandemic. What is Biden/Harris offering? Even Biden, when asking these questions and about his record, says, "If you are questioning whether to vote for me or not, you ain't black."
So Leftists will get nothing and will receive all of the blame for of Trump winning if we don't vote for Biden. "If you are questioning whether to vote for Biden or not, you must want Trump for four more years."
Remember, I live in Washington State. A super blue State. If I live in any battleground state, even within a ten points difference, I would vote for Biden/Harris. But since Biden is ahead by 22 points in my state, and I don't see that changing anytime soon, I am considering voting for a third party. Howard Hawkins of the Green and Socialist party is closer to my position. I would prefer there is no State at all and no President at all. Especially no single person having that much power, especially being the 'leader of the "Free" world' by virtue of being the President of the United Corporations of Imperialism. If the President of the United Corporations of Imperialism is the 'leader' of the 'free world,' then how come the World doesn't get to vote in this election. The UCI, Imperialtopia bombs the hell out of the middle east so much, I think the middle east has a right to have a say in our elections.
I do have to acknowledge those platform holders, people with a Youtube channel, a Podcast, or have a large following on Social Media, feel the need to tell people to "to out and vote. Vote as if your life depends on it because for some, it actually does matter." Although for some people, much won't change materially for their lives, like the impoverished and the disabled. For some, it is life or death. For others, it is a shit show, regardless. But platform holders want Trump out of the White House. They don't know who lives in what state. They don't know if their audience's votes matter or not. Since they are speaking to a vast audience, and they must keep it simple, they have to say, "VOTE! VOTE! VOTE!"
But, I am thinking, if they acknowledge that some votes are more important in some states than others, they will have to admit the whole in the United Corporations of Imperialism is unjust. Votes are weight more heavily in some states than in others. The whole system has to change. But that can't happen in a year. However, folks can vote on Election Day. So, it is easy to encourage people to vote instead of organizing to abolish the Electoral College. It would take too long to do it. It would take a lot of effort. So even bother trying. Liberals would rather pretend that isn't the case and just badger and shame people into voting for a candidate they have 'accepted' won the primary, even though Biden was one of the worse candidates in that field. Everyone's tenth or so pick.
With all that said, vote for whoever you want to or whoever you feel comfortable voting for. I won't vote shame anyone. Except if you vote for Trump and the GOP. Then you are a Fascist because you are voting for a Fascist and the Fascist party. Pure and simple.

AAAAAAA. Tumblr ate my last post. Okay. I'm going to word this one last time. And try and put my thoughts together.
Things I am not saying:
All mass shooters/serial killers/extremely violent people will have a diagnosis that you can find in the DSM V
All mentally ill people are inherently dangerous
Some mental illnesses make you a more evil person than others
Clearly mass shooters are psychotic and are doing this because of psychosis
Things that I am saying:
Abnormal psychology is abnormal psychology is abnormal psychology. This is a big net that includes Seasonal Affective Disorder AND pedophilia. The DSM just lists them all, and makes no moral judgements. Ignorant people do that.
Not all abnormal thought patterns are dangerous. Most abnormal thought patterns are not dangerous. In fact, I believe depression is the most commonly diagnosed mental health problem, and the only danger associated with depression is self-harm. Which is obviously not the same as being a serial killer.
SOME abnormal thought patterns are dangerous. EVEN LESS are dangerous to other people. EVEN LESSER LESS are actually going to be acted upon (the chance is miniscule).
However, leaving any problem that causes suffering (the distressing part of diagnostic criteria for abnormal thought) unchecked can lead to feelings of hopelessness. Hopelessness increases rash behaviour. When you are also having dangerous thoughts, hopelessness can encourage you to act on them. Hence the argument frequently made here that dehumanising and mutilating pedophiles will lead to more chances of pedophiles deciding to just give up and abuse children.
To combat that hopelessness, all people should have accessible mental health care on hand. Mental health care is for a variety of conditions. Getting mental health care does not mean you are dangerous and should not be assumed to mean such.
A diagnosis of a mental illness does not mean you will commit an act of violence. It is incredibly rare to do so.
But because all neurodivergent people are human, and the entirety of humanity is not pure and innocent, eventually a mentally ill person IS going to commit an evil act.
Acknowledging this does not mean all mentally ill people are ticking time bombs. No more than any person is a ticking time bomb. And no more than any person in a state of suffering is a ticking time bomb.
For those INCREDIBLY rare instances, mental health care should be available. Because murdering multiple people in cold blood is not normal behaviour, mental health care WILL help prevent mass shootings.
This does not reflect on those who seek mental healthcare as a whole. It simply says that:
Committing an act of extreme violence is an act of someone who is not in a healthy or balanced place mentally. And treating them with things intended to help mental health will raise them from that kind of mindset.
Abuse by definition cannot be mentally healthy. It is not mentally healthy to end multiple innocent lives. It's also not mentally healthy to worry obsessively, but they're completely different ends of the spectrum that happen to share the same label.
Saying something is characteristic of abnormal psychology does not mean it is characteristic of all types of abnormal psychology.
It is DANGEROUS to imply that being a racist piece of shit is all it takes to become a murderer, because it takes responsibility off of the murderers and puts it into their ideology instead. Don't want to be a mass shooter? Don't be a racist. Don't want to be an abuser or a pedophile? Don't read violent fiction that surely will make you become one. You seeing how this is ringing bells? The average person does not read Stephen King and become a killer. Just like the average person can be a hateful, useless piece of shit and STILL NOT SHOOT UP A WALMART.
Calling me, someone with a mental disability who has been demonised and frequently told they're broken by ignorant fearmongering assholes, an instrument of self-harm whose ideas are terrifying because I am asking people to be mindful of where they put the blame of these actions and recognise how we can prevent further violence is frankly not something that I am remotely okay with at all. It fucking hurts. And implying that all I can do in my future job in criminal rehabilitation is say "well don't be racist then, I guess none of these mental health treatment plans will address any of the reasons why you committed crimes" is kind of reducing my whole career to being ableist. It's not ableist to recognise that some mental health issues put you in a bad state of mind and that bad states of mind can lead you to do terrible things. It IS ableist to imply that all mentally ill people are going to do terrible things. It would indeed be ableist to say that, say, all people with ASPD are going to kill someone one day.
But I never fucking said that! Because it's not true and I've said so thousands of times previously on this blog.

Someone literally, just unironically said that hating on Reylo is ableism because Kylo is coded as the emo goth kid and misconstrued as a school shooter or something? Like? WHAT? How can you look at Kylo Ren’s horrible, manipulative, abusive, Neonazi behavior and sympathize with him?
How is he NOT the school shooter type? He may have some traits similar to the emo goth kids that were bullied at your school, but he is not designed to be a sympathetic character. He is designed as a pampered, privileged white boy who didn’t get his way and went off the rails. There is zero canon evidence that he was bullied or neglected into his behaviors, and he has half a dozen chances to stop what he’s doing and refuses. Equating him to the troubled goth emo kid is fucking shitting in the face of actually troubled kids who seek help and get better.
Kylo’s what happens when you let that run unchecked, combined with a life of privilege and a sadistic heart at his core. And Rey tries to help and gets fucked over for it time and time again. There’s nothing romantic about that other than showing that Rey is a good person who tries. And maybe it’s tragic that Kylo’s so far gone that he can’t be helped, but it’s not like people haven’t tried. It’s not ableist to say “Get away from him.” It’s self-preservation. It’s abusive to try to stay with him after what he’s done.
And let’s be clear: Kylo isn’t killing cats in his backyard. He’s murdering people. He killed his own father. He isn’t written as the softboi that needs a hug, a juicebox and some Zoloft no matter how much you think he might. Rey’s vagina won’t heal him, and even if it would, she under no circumstances should be expected to risk her health, life or mental state to do so. Kylo Ren is a grown ass 30-year-old man. He is NOT a troubled teenaged boy. He does NOT need to be saved by 19-year-old Rey. It is NOT ableist to insist that he be punished for the crimes he’s committed.
Mental health is a REAL ISSUE and should absolutely be addressed early and often. Being mentally ill does NOT absolve you of committing atrocities. Eveni f you are mentally ill, if you commit atrocities, you must be punished for them. (And ideally also treated for your mental illness.) I will never understand how such otherwise intelligent, educated, feminist women can so blindly coddle a heinous character like Kylo so much. I really cannot.
Also, Kylo Ren being mentally ill is your fanon interpretation. Stop acting like it's fact.

some thots on M. Night’s ‘The Village’
this is...too long. spoilers obv
This isn’t college so instead of a coherent essay I’m serving up some disjointed paragraphs. I expect literally no one to read this. Please don’t. Ok, here we go.
At first I thought the dialogue was just awful, stilted, and impossible to work with, judging by the terrible performances of several otherwise decent actors, but the reveal that we’re in modern times makes it...kind of make sense. If you squint. They’re all modern people doing their best (and failing) to imitate the speech of last century. At least that’s what I tell myself to keep from fixating on the more obvious conclusion that M. Night badly needed some help with the script that he apparently didn’t get.
The twist was weak as fuck. If there had to be a twist at all, it should have been that the monsters are real, the outside world is modern, and has fenced off this section of forest to keep the monsters inside. A splinter group of humans, left inside for whatever reason, figured out how to coexist with the monsters but are stuck in the past. It can be set in the present day and the monsters can be real, ok? Instead, we got “the monsters are fake social control and it was the present day the whole time!! the buildup was for nothing!! haha you got shaggy-dog’d!!” If I had been at the premiere I would have booed. Roger Ebert really was right that the whole “fake monsters / modern times” twist was barely better than “it was all a dream.” Right up until the twist was revealed I desperately hoped that the monsters were real, because they had been handled so well so far, and that some original, spooky secrets about the monsters and the village would come to light. But instead we got that Margaret Peterson Haddix book.
Slapping a twist ending on this movie really did it a disservice, because there’s no time to explain anything. Instead of leading us on with the horror premise, we could have established that the monsters are fake and it’s 2004 early on, and we could’ve had a cool hybrid horror-drama about...idk, politics or something.
I have a pet theory that Walker killed both his father and the business partner and framed the business partner so he could inherit the money, finance his perfect society, and satisfy his megalomania by being the cult leader he was born to be. He was doing the racist tumblr pastoral fantasy before it was cool. Modern life is too corrupting, let’s all go back to a simpler time when the white people lived together in harmony on huge swathes of stolen land. No more cities, no more towns, only the racially homogenous village.
The one thing I liked about the movie, I loved. I love love loved the way the camera only gives you glimpses of the “monsters,” a blurry image here, a flash of red cloak there, the scratches too high for any animal to make, the way you sometimes only see the back of someone’s head as they look in the direction of the monster. It was the perfect amount of showing us something really is there and giving us the vaguest idea of what it looks like, but holding back so that our imaginations still do most of the work. I eat that shit up tbh.
It honestly kind of felt like this movie started out with the intention of the monsters being real, but M. Night couldn’t deliver on all the interesting shit he had made up (why do the monsters wear cloaks? why do they skin animals and leave the meat? what’s with the red marks on doors? why is yellow the safe color? how was the truce made in the first place?) and hand-waved it all away with his flaccid twist. BOOOO!!!
I’m not even sure if this movie had any themes. The only one I could tease out is like... the dangers of overprotectiveness / romanticizing the past? Motherfuckers tried to create a perfect, peaceful, crime-free society, but I bet all the kids that grew up in the village are pretty traumatised by the constant threat of the seemingly very-real monsters they’ve been allowed to catch glimpses of. The monsters are only referred to as “Those We Do Not Speak Of,” adding to their potency (see: Voldemort). When monsters come to town, the people hide in their cellars, and there’s a throwaway line about drills, indicating they regularly practice their hidey-hole procedure like it’s the fucking cold war. The strain of the uneasy “truce” with the monsters must always be in the backs of their minds. They have the blazing border around them as a constant reminder. They obsessively shun the color red (which they only call “The Forbidden Color” or some shit) bc it attracts the monsters (honestly why did the “elders” make up that one? just another wacky form of social control? wtf. wait. is this all actually a cold war metaphor?????). Those that have only ever known the village are probably stressed af, I bet everyone has night terrors.
Well, if they ever attempt a sequel, the outline is already in place. The village is unsustainable. How will they choose who inherits the truth and the costume-wearing duties? The money financing the protection of the land can’t last forever, what happens when it runs out?
On a final note, I have to say that Adrien Brody’s character Noah seems extremely ableist. The fact that evil still found its way inside their “perfect” society, in the form of developmentally disabled Noah who stabs Lucius out of jealousy over Ivy, doesn’t sit right with me at all. If the intended message with that was “evil...uh...finds a way,” wouldn’t a non-disabled jealous rival character have served the purpose even better? Maybe M. Night was (extremely clumsily) trying to make the character of Noah fit in with the “dangers of overprotectiveness” theme by saying “look, if they lived in modern society he could have gotten proper help!” (which would be dumb tbh bc that ignores how badly disabled people are treated). Here’s a blog post by an actual disabled person that looks at ableism in several Shyamalan films.
Anyway, this could have been a very good straightforward horror movie, or a mystery/drama/thriller, and either format could have been used to tell a story about...idk social control or something, but instead we got a maddeningly unsatisfying half-baked waste of ideas. Maybe in 20 years it’ll get a remake or a “reimagining.” I rate it a generous 2.5/5 stars, not so much for what it was, but *sigh* what it could have been.

Note
The writers had twitter accounts & they said Simon got what he deserved for having "NPD" & such, whilst treating Amelia & the cat as good/admirable characters unilke him. They later deleted the posts after controversy & people pointing out the implications that they're basically saying neurodivergent kids are irredeemable, but the point still stands, the writers wanted us to hate Simon, whilst liking Amelia & the Cat even though they did worse.
Ok well now we’re at a standstill, I don’t read the writers Tweets.
Maybe you’re absolutely correct and they genuine think Amelia and the Cat are better than Simon objectively from a moral standpoint.
Maybe they just personally enjoy those characters more because they’ve spent more time writing them and are more attached to them while still planning them to get their comeuppance in the actual show which is not represented by their Twitter accounts. Maybe they don’t think Simon is better objectively but he’s based on a toxic friend or deeply reminds them of one so they just.,, don’t like him in a different way than they do Amelia and the cat because they’re crimes feel way more abstract.
Maybe something was taken out of context.
That still doesn’t tell us how they would have written the conclusion of the show because good writers ARE actually capable of divorcing their personal feelings about a character and how they actually write them. In fact even mediocre writers are capable of doing that.
They should have deleted the NPD tweets that was ableist, fucked up, and insensitive. Those could do actual harm because people could replace “Simon” with someone else with NPD and that could lead to actual harm because of the massive misunderstandings surrounding NPD.
But otherwise I can’t be sure tweeting about Amelia and the cat is the same as telling us how their stories would have ended and to be quite honest I’d imagine they’d be less likely to tweet in a way that was indicative of how the story would end because there was still hope of a book 5 at one point. So yeah I still maintain that you can’t really say they haven’t gotten comeuppance for the myriad terrible things they did, as you pointed out, because the show never got to that point
