I have a few headcanons for them, and a a bit of backstory and lore planned, too😊 Let's dive in:
• ❄IceWing!🍷Heir of Evil!🐉 Reader is the grandchild or great-grandchild to the wicked IceWing queen, specifically the one who put the tribe into multiple wars and skirmishes and tried to take over the dragon world. Reader isn't like her (they're not an irredeemable monster who hurts others for fun)
• Heir! Reader wears jewelry that is mostly silver or black, but loves any sort of colorful gemstones or charms...
• Heir! Reader only wears the pieces of jewelry that are necessary; they don't want to waste the tribe's treasure on frivolous items, and if the jewelry appeals to other tribes, then it might make Reader and the IceWings seem more appealing, like they're dragons, too...
• Heir! Reader is good with algebra, dragon biology, and creative writing...
• Heir! Reader is torn between what the two sides of their kingdom wants: to stay unscheming and try to foster peace, hoping other tribes will leave them alone and not hurt them further... or to amass enough power and treasure that they can wage a war against the other tribes, or at least the IceWing hybrids who some view as traitors...
• Heir! Reader's necklace they were told to never take off is enchanted, but they don't know that. The necklace hides something about them, which is why their vanished/dead parent gave it to them...
• Heir! Reader has had to stop a coup for their throne/title at age four (about 12 year old in WoF dragon years), which led to them earning the respect of the remaining advisors and generals of their late parent/late family, as well as the respect of the few nobles left and the different IceWing villages...
• Heir! Reader's hatching day is a mystery, as no one ever saw their egg, nor them, when they were first hatched, save for their deceased parent and a late ally of their's...
• Heir! Reader has an army of pet foxes, all of which are (diet) platonic yandere for them (they're all so cute and cuddly and fluffy-!)

Becky laughs seeing you eat a bowl of soup with chilli peppers sprinkled over it as Bayley sits beside you eating a sandwich shaking her head at your need and love for spice in food. You had been friends with both women having been in NXT together before being drafted to WWE where the feelings grew until the three of you finally went out and had dinner leading to more dates on the road between matches only made the three of you fall for each other more and get together smiling sweetly at the memories four years back as you feel the sensation of the peppers hitting your tongue eating bread in between sips of soup which adds more to the flavor until the soup was gone giggling at their faces "How can you handle eating spices so much?" you drink soda before taking your bowl and cleaning it before sitting back on the couch as the three of you watch episodes of The office "I always remember liking things that had an extra kick and gives people a sense of unease, I was sucking on limes and lemons when other kids would be eating strawberries or apples, I loved garlic for as long as I can remember and when I started cooking with grandma and aunt I experimented with flavors and spices had always caught my eye so once I started making or adding them to foods I was hooked" the next time you made rice and shrimp adding garlic, a small amount of paprika, and ginger which blows them as they eat "I can't believe you put all those spices in there but none over powers each other you gotta do that more often when you cook". Overtime you added more spices to the food you cooked for them even adding a small game of having them guess spices by the taste so they could know what spices you liked and what they were leading to them developing a small like for spices no where near your love for them but they always enjoyed and appreciated when you would add some to their sandwiches, soups, or anything you made for their lunches on the road for flavor always having you use certain ones even having you squeeze lemons or limes in their drinks to add the slight kick and sourness to water, juice, or energy drinks occasionally sucking on the lemons and limes before their matches which became a small tradition not only to add extra energy but also to tell you that they loved you and would make you proud when you weren't backstage with them.

meals for this week:
i missed 5 days of work bc i was out of town for bianca's birthday last week so it's going to be extra scrappy cooking this week (thank u god for giving me a freezer <3)
a golden roasted mushroom pasta dish with goat cheese and lemon and chives, i want to use some kind of short pasta shape with lots of chew to it :3
i've got a whole chicken in the freezer, i want to make another roast chicken with potatoes and then cook some dinosaur kale in the schmaltz, i made it a bit too salty last time but it was DELICIOUS so i know how to adjust my seasoning a little bit better now
i have a big bag of shrimp i had to freeze a couple weeks ago so i am thinking of poaching some juicy shrimp with herbs and lemon and garlic and ginger and putting it on top of some cold noodles, either with a spicy sesame or spicy peanut sauce, with shredded cabbage and tons of herbs
i also will make a caramelized onion, sausage, and egg breakfast sandwich for dinner with hot sauce and arugula, it's fast and easy and savory and sooo filling and delicious and i already have a tube of breakfast sausage in the freezer i can thaw
getting chocolate covered strawberry supplies bc even tho we agreed to not spend money on gifts for each other for valentine's day, i still want 2 decorate and make a little treat for my gf

Homemade basil pesto is a wonderfully versatile and tasty sauce/spread made from a handful of flavorful ingredients. It comes together in minutes and tastes worlds better than store-bought because it’s so fresh. (Just like with lemon curd, store-bought pesto is nothing like real, FRESHLY made pesto!)
The uses for pesto are virtually endless, and you can use it in recipes like pesto pizza and pesto shrimp. Or use it as pasta sauce, drizzle it over grilled chicken, eggs, or roasted vegetables, spread it on sandwiches or homemade bread, or even swirl into hummus or minestrone soup.

Today’s homemade basil pesto recipe is my absolute favorite. It’s classic, simple, flavorful, and completely fresh. You’ll appreciate how easily it comes together and that it tastes infinitely better than store-bought versions. Homemade pesto can be a dip, sauce, or spread and pairs wonderfully with so many flavors. Bottom line? Pesto is an easy way to instantly elevate any savory dish.
Originating in Genoa, Italy, pesto was traditionally made by crushing the ingredients with a mortar and pestle. Now it’s typically done with the convenience of electric tools like a food processor or blender. You don’t need to cook it at all, unless you want to roast the garlic first.

Basil: Fresh basil leaves are the base of this pesto recipe. Rinse and pat dry before using.
Pine Nuts: Pine nuts add structure and a light nutty flavor to the pesto. If I’m having trouble finding pine nuts, sometimes I’ll swap them for walnuts, pistachios, or almonds.
Parmesan Cheese: Fresh parmesan cheese adds a little saltiness and helps the pesto stick together. In place of parmesan (aka parmigiano-reggiano), you can use any Italian-style hard cheese, such as pecorino romano, asiago, or grana padano.
Garlic: It goes without saying that garlic adds incredible flavor to homemade pesto. I urge you to try using roasted garlic because the flavor isn’t as harsh as raw garlic. (Here’s how to roast garlic.)
Olive Oil: Olive oil is the main liquid and helps create a creamy, rich consistency.
Lemon Juice: 1 teaspoon of fresh lemon juice brightens everything up and really helps the other flavors shine. Many recipes don’t call for it, but I highly recommend it.
Salt & Pepper: Both add flavor and you can add them to taste.
Make it your own: For a twist, try adding your favorite herbs like cilantro, mint, or parsley; your favorite spices like cayenne, ground ginger, paprika, or crushed red pepper flakes; or add a dash of your favorite hot sauce.
FAQ: What Can I Use Instead of Basil?
When fresh basil isn’t in season, it can be really pricey or even impossible to find. I like to use kale, spinach, or arugula in its place. You can find the kale variation I like to use in this pesto pasta salad recipe.
FAQ: What Can I Use Instead of Pine Nuts?
Pine nuts can be really expensive, not to mention hard to find! Walnuts, pistachios, and almonds are all great 1:1 substitutes and you can’t really detect a flavor difference in the finished pesto.
For nut-free pesto, try pumpkin seeds, hemp seeds, sunflower seeds, or cooked and cooled edamame.

Overview: How to Make Homemade Basil Pesto
Basil pesto comes together in a matter of minutes using a food processor or blender; just a few pulses and you’re done. The ingredients blend together rather easily, so if you don’t have a fancy food processor, don’t worry. It will still taste like pesto and it will still be good. (It’s hard to mess this up.)
Blend the basil, pine nuts, cheese, and garlic together in a food processor or blender. Add the olive oil and pulse/process to blend. Scrape down the sides of the blender bowl, then add the lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Pulse this mixture until everything is blended together and relatively smooth. Taste and add more seasoning and any extra herbs/spices if desired.
Can I double or triple the recipe? Yes, you can easily scale up this recipe if your food processor/blender has the room!

How to Use Homemade Pesto
If you need inspiration, here are MANY ways you can use this basil pesto:
Pesto Tortellini: Use as a sauce over cooked tortellini with parmesan cheese and fresh diced tomatoes.
Shrimp: Try my creamy pesto shrimp for dinner—it’s super quick!
Pizza: Use it in place of pizza sauce on pizza crust; here is my pesto pizza recipe.
Pesto Bruschetta: Bake slices of a fresh baguette in a 400°F (204°C) oven until golden. Top with pesto, parmesan cheese, and diced fresh tomatoes.
Stuffed Peppers: Use pesto in my sausage stuffed peppers recipe instead of the chicken broth. (Same amount—tastes fantastic.)
Focaccia: Skip the herbed olive oil topping on focaccia (step 8) and spread 1/2 cup of pesto all over the dough instead.
Star Bread: Use my star bread recipe and reduce the amount of sugar in the dough to 1 Tablespoon. Spread 1 heaping Tablespoon of pesto onto each of the 3 circles. (3 Tbsp. total.) Top each with a light layer of shredded cheese, herbs, and/or chopped pepperoni.
Pesto Sandwich: Spread pesto on toasted bread, and add your favorite cheese or meat, greens, and tomato.
Pesto Grilled Cheese: Brush 2 slices of thick-cut crusty bread (like artisan bread) with pesto, add provolone or cheddar cheese, butter the outside of the bread, and cook both sides on a griddle or skillet until golden brown.
Swirl in Soup: Swirl a few spoonfuls into a bowl of minestrone soup.
Hummus: Blend 2 Tablespoons of pesto with parmesan garlic hummus.
As a Dip: Use it as a dip for homemade bread, breadsticks, crackers, or pizza pull apart rolls.
As a Spread: Spread it on olive bread or seeded oat bread.
As a Topping: Drizzle over cooked meats, fish, eggs, chicken meatballs, or roasted vegetables.

You can store this basil pesto in a jar or sealable container, then tightly seal and refrigerate for up to 1 week or freeze for up to 2–3 months. Let it thaw at room temperature or in the refrigerator.
To prevent your pesto from browning in the fridge, pour a layer of olive oil on top before tightly covering or sealing the pesto.
You could also freeze the fresh pesto in small amounts, in a greased ice cube tray, and then thaw the amount you need for a recipe when you need it, so you don’t have as much leftover to store in the fridge.

This is how I make classic basil pesto at home. It’s incredibly simple and flavorful and uses only a handful of fresh ingredients.
Ingredients
2 cups (60g) fresh basil leaves*
1/3 cup (48g) pine nuts*
1/3 cup (25g) freshly grated or shredded parmesan cheese
3 small cloves garlic (roasted garlic or fresh)*
1/3 cup (80ml) olive oil
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon salt
freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions
Pulse the basil, pine nuts, cheese, and garlic together in a food processor or blender. Scrape down the sides, then add the oil, lemon juice, and salt. Pulse until everything is blended together and relatively smooth. Add a drizzle more olive oil to thin out, if desired. Taste and add pepper (and/or more salt) if desired. I always add a pinch of pepper.

Excerpt: The Hands That Wield the Sword
And it truly was a feast. What would be multiple courses in a more Hylian setting was presented all at once on the Zora’s table. Sidon give Link the name of each dish as they pass it, happily placing however much of it the Hylian wants onto his plate (his first plate, anyway. Sidon quickly went to grab another when it was full.) Many of the dishes had names in Hylian, but the prince was eager to share what they were called in the Zora tongue as well and enthusiastically offered to learn their signs in the Zora Sign Language, as well as Hylian Common Sign.
On the table set in silver or stone bowls are foods Link had never seen. Hineska’ Agaga’, the Hylian rice dyed red with achote seeds, spiced with onion, garlic, and a hot pork sausage Sidon called chorizo; salads made of cucumbers and daigu’ radishes pickling in a bowl of soy sauce and lemon juice sitting beside a plate of stir fried bok choy, Hylian shrooms, and spicy peppers. The smell of hot frying oil filled his senses as they passed the fried vegetable lumpia, its rice paper wrapping dark brown and sizzling. A few bońelos uhang, small, pan-fried cakes of shrimp and vegetables sat next to the lumpia and red rice creating a small wall between it and savory breadfruit swimming in fresh coconut milk. Link recognizes the smell of kelaguen and tityas from the meal Kodah and Kayden gave him the morning before, but Sidon explains that this is kelaguen månnok, made with poultry rather than seafood. Its spicy aroma sent Link’s mouth tingling, the taste of sharp lemon, crisp spice, and fresh, earthy niyok coming back to him joyfully.
The “entrees,” as they would be called on Hylian tables, comprised of pansit bihon månnok; clear, thin rice noodles dressed brown with fish and oyster sauce, tossed together with sautéed snow peas, poultry, carrots, and bamboo shoots, topped with bright white, crunchy bean sprouts and lime juice. There was fresh, seared sizzelfin trout encrusted with sesame seeds that fell apart beautifully when you took a bite, the sesame seeds adding a delicious texture to the soft fish. Tender grilled pork spareribs sprinkled with only pink rock salt and course pepper sat at the end of the line followed by three small bowls of desserts, which, once they finally came into view, made Link’s eyes widen in excitement. In one sat steamed sweet niyok and cassava, its smell bringing a sense of freshness and cleanliness after the line of strong, savory dishes. Sidon has to turn Link away from the baked pumpkin empanadas (påstets) and crumbly inafliton roset cookies before he could stuff them in his mouth, promising that he will bring them once they sit.
At their place settings are cups of fresh water and an earthenware pot of lemon ginger tea. Link, a master of restraint, waits for Sidon to finish making his own plate and sit down before he explores the vast richness in front of him.
