SO THIS IS IT!! The new project I’ve been reading the last week or so! @celtichammerclub very own custom, hand forged sgian dubh! I enlisted the masterful forging skills of Brian Moody @moody_forge to collaborate on a custom, hand forged sgian dubh blade made exclusively for Celtic Hammer Club! Specs of the blade are: 80 layer damascus steel on top and bottom, 80crv2 core, and nickel sheet on either side of the core steel. The blade is 3.5" long x 1.125" wide x 5/32" thick. Wooden handle made from zebrano wood and ebony from Africa. Copper butt on the end of the handle. A sgian dubh (pronounced skee-ən-DOO) and meaning "black knife" in Gaelic is a small, single edged knife worn as part of traditional highland dress along with the kilt. It is traditionally worn on the leg. Having it's origins in at least the 17th century, the sgian dubh acted as an all purpose utility knife or as a weapon. It's now a symbol of Highland Celtic culture and identity. Each blade is hand forged to order from scratch. Production time may vary depending on the production schedule.
