I had the honor of making these 3 Clip Point Hunters for Maddox. Last summer, on an epic trip to Idaho he found a pair of shed antlers and wanted to use them as handle material on a few heirloom knives. The coin inlays are Idaho quarters with the River of No Return that they floated down during the trip. Hope your custom made knives provide a lifetime of service and enjoyment.

SO THIS IS IT!! The new project I’ve been reading the last week or so! @celtichammerclub very own custom, hand forged sgian dubh! I enlisted the masterful forging skills of Brian Moody @moody_forge to collaborate on a custom, hand forged sgian dubh blade made exclusively for Celtic Hammer Club! Specs of the blade are: 80 layer damascus steel on top and bottom, 80crv2 core, and nickel sheet on either side of the core steel. The blade is 3.5" long x 1.125" wide x 5/32" thick. Wooden handle made from zebrano wood and ebony from Africa. Copper butt on the end of the handle. A sgian dubh (pronounced skee-ən-DOO) and meaning "black knife" in Gaelic is a small, single edged knife worn as part of traditional highland dress along with the kilt. It is traditionally worn on the leg. Having it's origins in at least the 17th century, the sgian dubh acted as an all purpose utility knife or as a weapon. It's now a symbol of Highland Celtic culture and identity. Each blade is hand forged to order from scratch. Production time may vary depending on the production schedule. A Northwest Indian or Persian Straight Sword 18th Century With wide single-edged watered-steel blade which tapers towards the point, the blade with a kirk narduban pattern consisting of vertical lines separating rosettes, the steel hilt of typical tulwar form with curved knuckle guard, gold koftgari decoration with multiple floral sprays contained within strapwork and geometric borders, later purple-velvet covered wooden scabbard 35¾in. (90.8cm.) long Provenance The Dr. Leo S. Figiel Collection of Mogul Arms, 24 August 1998, lot 2013 Literature Leo S. Figiel, M.D., On Damascus Steel, New York, 1991, pp.68-69 Lot Notes When it was published by Figiel, he wrote that whilst this blade was characteristic of north west India, the absence of a ricasso on the blade may justify a Persian attribution.
