So, Jace Turner, you and your Purifiers kidnapped John Proudstar, a war veteran. Upon kidnapping this war veteran, tying him up, and putting an actual collar on him, you decided you didn't like the answers he gave you guys, a hate group who want to see mutants gone, and you decide to torture him. You torture him using his mutation, blasting heavy metal music into massive headphones for hours on end at volumes that would probably hurt even someone with normal hearing. And you torture him like this, maybe five minutes of reprieve collectively, for at least a full day.

How are you the good guy? I need you to explain this to me like I'm five.

Ok, because I'm bored at work with nothing to do and I'm still by myself, I'm gonna bug you with a random question. What are your Top 10 favorite headcanons. No specific fandom, just top 10 favorite.

This is too broad actually, E. xD Please limit me to a fandom next time this nearly broke my brain, first to find any at all (twas as though I had Never Had A Single Headcanon In My Life) and then to move on from a fandom, like, once I remembered a headcanon, my brain wanted to latch onto that fandom and I would have gladly given you my top 10 Disney headcanons or sth... this was near impossible lol

You will realize that most of my heacanons are next gen related.

In no particular order because holy shit that'd kill me.

Let's start with an easy one. Shadowhunters. I headcanon Jace Herondale as ace. Even in the fanfiction where I don't make it an explicit plotline, I think of him as ace. I just think that he doesn't know. Doesn't know the term for it, hasn't thought about it really. I don't think I've ever had an ace headcanon I was as fiercely attached to as I am with Jace. Which is funny considering the character himself is a... actually, no, he's not really that sexual. We see others making jokes about his book club, we see him hook up with a random girl once. And then with Maia. And then he's in his relationship with Clary, where we actually see him pulling the brakes and wanting to slow things down. He's not as promiscuous as the talk of the other characters would like to make us belief, is what I'm saying. He has a normal sex life. Still, usually, ace headcanons are born from a "oh this character has never shown any interest in sex????" notion, so this is still an outlier.

PJO: If Bianca di Angelo had lived, her powers would have been most aligned with darkness. We know that Nico struggled with that, that shadow-travel in particular drained him extremely. It's a power he has, but one that never came as easy to him as summoning or controlling the dead. And I always liked the idea that the three kids of Hades/Pluto split his three realms - darkness, death and riches. Tapping into the other realms too, but having most domain over one each.

My headcanon that Jack Frost from Rise of the Guardians is actually the god Jökul Frosti who had his memories taken and was "punished" to spend a lifetime as a human, but something went wrong when he died too early, that's why he has the full amnesia. It just, it never really clicked why the guardian of fun got the white hair and snow powers, or why the wind would carry Jack and allow him to fly (the god of the wind is the father of Jökul Frosti), or why the saying of "Jack Frost" would exist in our human world if Jack Frost is a spirit that nobody can see and born from a mortal who died only 300 years ago.

Disney: Princess Aurora and Prince Adam (aka the Beast) are cousins! I don't know, I just think that's neat. They look very similar, there's the French note to Sleeping Beauty and Beauty and the Beast.

DCMK: Kudou Shinichi and Kuroba Kaito naming their son Conan, as a reminder of how they first met and what Shinichi's time as Conan really meant to him. I think that'd be very poetic and I also think that kid would be the devil incarnate.

Deep dig TLK headcanon that will actually mean absolutely nothing to people who aren't deep into it but I headcanon that Kovu is the biological son of Malka and Kula, I think that Kula's dark fur is a good match for Kovu's while he'd have Malka's dark mane (and I headcanon Malka's eyes to be green, they're not really... seen. they look pitch-black, which might as well be green like Kovu's), plus I did always like Malka. I know most people ship Kula with Chumvi but honestly they have a near identical design so I always clocked them as siblings and headcanoned them as such. But yeah, Kovu as the lost son of Malka and Kula, which would add such a near tragic element to things, if Simba knew he was Malka's son.

If Cole and Phoebe's son on Charmed had lived, his name would have been Parker Benjamin. Parker was the name she later picked for her second born daughter, but I have no qualms moving that name up to the older brother, since I'm already changing the oldest daughter's name too because I am fiercely possessive of my OC daughter of Phoebe and Cole who has to be the firstborn daughter. The only kid of Phoebe whose name I'm keeping is the youngest. Plus, middle name Benjamin after Cole's father, since we do know that Cole cared deeply for his father. I always liked the idea of the sons being their own Charmed Ones; him, Wyatt and my Andy/Prue son Phillip Trudeau.

In the greater scheme of things, BtVS is full of magic shenanigans so why in the world should Angel be the only vampire who can have kids, right? I like the idea of Willow and alive!Tara using magic to create children of their own and that magic also being applicable to Spike and Buffy. I'm thinking fully-formed-baby creation magic here, not magical pregnancy. Because I... don't see Buffy pregnant, she's too much of a fighter, out there, not benched due to different circumstances. And they'd have twins, named William, since Spike's not using that name, and Joanne, as a combination of Joan and Anne, the two big aliases Buffy ever went by.

A headcanon I cherish a lot a lot is from Sailor Moon and it's that the Ayakashi sisters (Koan, Berthier, Calaveras and Petz) all also get a second chance and get reborn, just like the inner senshi did after the first season because fuck that the girls were good at the end they deserved better than to die for men's mistakes, and that they are, ultimately, the mothers of the Asteroid senshi (Pallas, Juno, Vesta and Ceres). I have a very big, very mapped out family tree for my Sailor Moon headcanons. This fandom has been with me for decades. But I want to only pick one headcanon per fandom, so.

DC Comics' Stephanie Brown becoming the Huntress, I just think that would be so neat, the purple color scheme fits her so, so, so well, plus I'd love for Helena Wayne to take up the mantle from her, looking up to her auntie Steph with adoration. I've latched onto that hard.

what is the Robin timeline in ur headverse? Like what’s the order and where do they end up later in the timeline? (also love ur art its amazing)

okay, stick with me, this is a journey:

Bruce wasn't the first Batman in the headverse, that was an OC named Dr. Aloysius Flying Fox (later just Aloysius Fox). His Robin was John Blake, who's thus first by technicality. Al and John are the headverse's Golden Age Batman and Robin, with a weakened Zod as the Golden Age Superman and Diana back in her role as Golden Age WW since she was born in 1900 as a Century Baby.

Once Bruce becomes Batman, the order of Robins is:

Dick Grayson (adopted as preteen, trains for a year or so and debuts as Robin) who becomes Nightwing around the time he's 18, using a name of Kryptonian animal and a Kandorian bodysuit gifted to him by Clark, giving him a little extra protection even against superhuman foes.

Jason Todd comes on after Dick's moved to San Francisco/Jump City full time with the Titans but before he's Nightwing. He's older than Dick was when he started (so 14-15) and only gets a year or two before Joker kills him. He's revived shortly after by the League of Assassins and trained in the ways of the All-Caste. He returns to Gotham as the Red Hood before completing his training, which causes problems for his Outlaws down the line.

After the incident with Jason, there's a gap where Bruce is mostly operating solo (barring team-ups with other established heroes). Tim, Steph, and Cass all come crashing into his life around the same time after Dick's become Nightwing but before Jason return. Tim is Robin, Steph is Spoiler and Cass is Orphan, but Steph and Cass become a second Robin and Batgirl shortly after coming up the Batman's aegis.

After Jason's return, Tim is Red Robin, Steph and Cass are both Batgirl (barring Cass's time undercover as Kasumi), at which point Damian enters the picture and the whole dynamic blows up. Once everything's kind of settled, Damian is Robin.

Then Crisis Era begins and there's another big shake-up, the functional result of which is the disappearance of the Trinity. This Era is defined by reality breaking apart as a result of various Meta-Cosmic beings (The Hands and The Eyes, Monitors and Looker, Pariah, Old and New Gods, etc) all fighting to survive Perpetua and The King of Tears attempting to resurrect Ultra the Hunter.

Dick and Damian continue on as Batman and Robin for some time. Carrie Kelley is active as Robin as well, but she's from a timeline create and destroyed during the Crisis, so she mostly operates independent of the larger Bat-Family. Jace Fox discovers Aloysius's history as the Lost Batman of Gotham's Golden Age and simultaneously operates as Batman of the Cinderella City (New York).

Dick eventually leaves the mantle, Damian becomes the Outsider, and Jace and his sister Tam operate as Batman and Robin. Cass is the new Batwoman, with Vivian Vale (oc) as Batgirl and Cheyenne Fremont as Nightwing. Steph is Oracle with assists from Barbara. Tim survives being captured by Joker and then splits his costumed adventures between the Black Ace Joker and the Batman Who Laughs.

From there is a jump to the Beyond Era and the emergence of Terrence McGinnis, unknowingly a result of Waller's work to create a reliable Batman of her own, who then bonds with an abandoned picotech symbio-suit being maintained by an older Jace.

Duke's present through the timeline, but as a Monitor-level metahuman, he's sort of on his own trajectory. Harper is concurrent with Steph, Cass, and Tim, all of whom are involved with a Talon using the pseudonym "Turner Hayes" before being revealed as an undead Dexter Dent. Dex is briefly Robin under James Gordon Jr, Waller's first attempt at having a Batman of her own.

Maps Mizoguchi is in here somewhere, probably concurrent with Damian and Carrie during the Crisis. She eventually becomes Meridian (uh, current BoP spoilers I guess).

Jenny Wren claims to be the First Robin but she's just one of Aloysius and John's rogues who became a Talon but got her memory scrambled.

I think I originally had a young Helena Bertinelli as Robin concurrent with Dick to retroactively justify Helena Wayne being named after her, but idk if I'm keeping that or it really makes sense. Otherwise she's Kate Kate's Robin before becoming Huntress. Helena Wayne follows a similar trajectory, but becomes Batman between Cass and Jace but before Terri and Elaina (Dick's daughter with [redacted] and briefly one of the Red X's).

Jarro...exists.

once again watched the mortal instruments movie (it’s weirdly become a comfort movie I love shitty 2010s action fantasy film) and the more I watch it the more I notice absolutely none of the dialogue makes sense. I’m p sure I watched a video essay about how the entire 2 hours is just Exposition: The Film and they’re right and every time I watch it it becomes more and more obvious. absolutely insane choice. it’s so exposition heavy that they spoil that jace and clary are in fact NOT siblings and that valentine is lying just in case they never made a sequel because that would be a fucking crazy thing to not inform the audience after they had insane sexual tension the entire film and oh— would you look at that. shockingly, they didn’t make a second one. glad they cleared that up mid way through the back half of the film or the reviews would have been WEIRDER and probably even worse

in fact the entire back half of the film with valentine is so fucking crazy. why’d they do that to him. why’d they make him like that. they did not have to make him like that. yes he’s an insane fucking guy but like they try to tell you “he was once a great man but fear twisted him into this” NO IT DIDNT. NO HE WAS NOT. HE WAS NEVER NORMAL. DO NOT TRY AND PLAY IT LIKE THAT THIS GUY HAS NEVER BEEN NORMAL A DAY IN HIS LIFE truly the mindless rage emanating from this man borders on hysterical there is no world in which this guy was a charismatic leader at any point there was no point in her life that LENA HEADEY as Jocelyn ever fucked this guy to produce one child let alone TWICE

can we talk about LENA HEADEY being in this film!!! Robert Sheehan??? JARED HARRIS?? he was actually in a lot of weird mainstream mid 2010s action films so that’s not all that surprising but like. man. Aiden turner!!! There were so many good actors in this film why did they DO this to them???? what HAPPENED in that writing room I would pay real money to know how this got greenlit im serious

so glad they turned it into a mediocre television show instead at least that shit had time to expand

this is a tough question! now, I feel like a lot of people are biased from HOTD. now, don't get me wrong, I love both Ewan and harry's casting, but I think it definitely did create a power imbalance because Harry was like 16-17 when they filmed and Ewan was like 24-25? So obviously there's just physical maturity differences right there.

So relying solely off my own head canons (I imagine Callum Turner as adult Jace) and what we get from the book/who I believe Jace would have grown up to be.... I'd say it depends? Like I imagine Jace grows up strong like Harwin, so he might be physically stronger, but I think Aemond is better with a sword. Tbh, I really don't know. I think it depends on the day.

I'd like to give Jace a win solely because Vhagar would obviously beat baby Vermax in a fight (don't come for me Caraxes is way older than Vermax and has a lot more time to grow) but I honestly think it depends.

admittedly, that might just be the fact that he had had to interact with his father, but it seemed particularly concentrated right in the place where his eye used to be. he rubbed it with the heel of his hand, his other eye shut tight.

“aem.”

her voice cut through the air. he turned over on the bed and looked up at her.

she was holding out a bottle of ibuprofen pills. he took it with quiet thanks and swallowed two quickly, leaning back on the bed when he was done. she still had those glow-in-the-dark stars on her ceiling that he helped her put up when they were twelve.

“do you ever feel like we shouldn’t be friends?”

she snickered. “have you been listening to otto rant about how i’m ‘not good for you’ and how i’m ‘dragging you down?’”

he propped himself up on his elbows. “you knew he says that about you?”

y/n nodded, turning herself around so she lay next to him. the soft music she was playing floated around the room on the golden glow of her fairy lights. “yeah, i know. it doesn’t really bother me. i know he’s trying to look out for you.”

he squeezed her hand. “i’m sorry.”

“it’s okay, aemond. i promise. i love you. that’s what matters to me.”

his heart pinched slightly in his chest. she never meant it the way he meant it. “yeah. i love you too.”

aegon opened the door and flopped down on her chair, lighting the blunt he had no doubt stolen from arys’s room. “y/n, how could you?”

she held out her hand for the blunt and took a hit, passing it to aemond. he refused it with a wave of his hand and she handed it back to aegon. “what do you mean?”

aegon grinned lazily at her. “i thought you were in love with me, yet here you are cheating on me with my own brother. shameful.”

“mm. i guess i was just overcome by his masculinity and charm.” she got up and walked over to aegon, hugging him from behind and kissing the top of his head. “can you ever forgive me?”

aemond felt his stomach twist at the way his brother grinned up at her. “maybe. depends, sweetheart.”

“oh yeah? on what?”

“get a fucking room.” aemond cracked a smile in an attempt to hide his jealousy.

aemond flipped him off in response, not bothering to look up. y/n lay back down next to him, curling up into his side. she had always been touchy. she was one of the few people he let touch him. lately, though, it was almost painful. touching her without being able to tell her. “are you guys fucking?” he asked. he surprised even himself with it.

she snorted. “nope. he’s a total slut. i’d get, like, four stds.”

he grunted.

she turned over to look him in the eye. “aem, i promise. i’m not fucking your brother. that’d, like, totally break the bro code. you can’t fuck my brother, i can’t fuck yours. bro code.”

he snorted. “i don’t think that’s what bro code means.”

“it’s what our bro code means.”

they lay in silence for a few moments. he could hear the song playing in the background. alex turner’s voice crooned softly. “secrets i have held in my heart, are harder to hide than i though, maybe i just wanna be-.”

she interrupted. “some new neighbors moved in.”

“oh yeah?”

“yeah. they’re nice. jon and robb and theon are our age. margaery’s been talking to sansa. she’s a year younger than us.”

“nice.” he took a strand of her hair, twisting it between his fingers. “are they cool?”

she nodded. he looked down at her and saw her smiling, softly and distantly. she was even blushing a little. “yeah. they’re cool.”

aegon knew it was wrong. he knew that aemond liked her. even if he was too much of a pussy to tell her. he knew that she was a year younger than him, and his mom would give him shit for dating her. he knew that otto would tell him she would distract him from his “true future” as a politician, or businessman, or whatever the fuck he was supposed to be. he knew that he would be bad for her too. he was a junkie, he slept around too much, he always managed to be the greatest disappointment of everyone around him. even helaena sometimes looked at him like the very sight of him saddened her.

y/n never did, though. ever. he had known her for as long as aemond had, since she was in kindergarten. he didn’t think she had an unkind bone in her body.

as she grew up, as he grew up, he watched from the sidelines. what had been asking aemond casually when she was next coming over, or paying attention to her in the hallways outside their classes, became lingering stares whenever they were at the beach, became pulling her down to sit next to him under the pretense of being drunk. his first year at college had been hell. he hated that he didn’t see her laughing at her locker with aemond, or lying on the grassy quad with margaery. he hated that he didn’t have an excuse to ask her if she wanted a ride home from school. he hated that he didn’t have an excuse to take her to aemond’s track meets and sit next to her with his arm around her shoulders to keep her warm because they both always forgot their jackets. he hated that she was beautiful and she grew up beautiful and every time he saw her he wanted to kiss her, to pull her close and feel what her bare skin felt like under his hands. he hated that he couldn’t hate her, no matter how much he tried to be indifferent or forget how much she mattered to him. he hated that she wasn’t his.

the girl he was with was pretty, though. neon green hair and soft hands like hers. she was grinding on him, the low thrum of the music pulsing through his body. it felt good.

(   AVAN JOGIA.  CISMAN.  HE/THEY  )   ⸺   Ꮺ  ⋆   greetings, buffalos !  walking around campus, sporting his DARK UNDER-EYE CIRCLES. we’ve spotted JACE DESAI,  a thirty year old who contributes to our thriving community as a BARTENDER. according to our intel, they’ve been around the sanctuary for SIX YEARS and what we know about him, aside from the fact that they DON’T agree with the decision to close the gates, is that he’s accidentally become something of an unofficial handyman around boulder simply because he doesn’t know how to say no to anybody ; he’s a huge metalhead and rock lover, if he’s not singing aloud to himself, he’s tapping his foot or humming along to something in his head ; one of jace’s many passions is art and they had a slight graffiti habit before the outbreak and loved painting murals around their city. now he’s a bit more limited in what he can play with, but he tries to get creative with different things when he can. doesn’t that make them fantastic ?  we think it does, and that’s why we appreciate them so much, grateful for what they give to our community.

HISTORY.

jace has been at boulder for six years, ever since he arrived with his younger sister. they were in canada when the outbreak began, originally a family of five: him, his mom and his three siblings. they lost their mom first, shot by some asshole looting the store. it felt worse that way, that she was taken by a human, not some monster or rabid disease. the four siblings mostly hid out for the start of it, unsure what to do or where to go and it was safer that way. but soon their stomachs were screaming, they were cold and fatigued, and they needed a plan. slowly making their way south, to anywhere that was safe or anywhere with food and warmth, they did quite well at staying out of conflict or danger for the most of it. the brothers sacrificed most of their meals for their sisters, waited up all night while they slept to ensure their protection, but they couldn't do it forever. they were getting weaker by the day, unsure just how far any help was, and verging on hopeless. until they started finding markings painted on walls for lost souls like them to stumble upon and direct to safety, hearing tales about a campus in colorado that's secure and alive. of course they had to go.

it didn't take long before a dozen or so of the infected had swarmed them. with a sister flung on both boy’s back, the siblings tried to rush to safety, only for jace to slip on some rubble and tumble down when a canid tried to swipe at him. his leg takes most of the damage, torn up by shattered glass in the dirt. a stupid mistake, one that would surely have cost both his and his sister's life had his brother not shoved in front of the infected trying to latch on to jace. they promised they'd never leave each other, but mark was demanding it, already scratched up by the monster,  bite marks sunk into his skin as he fights with the rest of his life to keep the beast back, but others are coming quick. jace doesn't remember exactly what his brother said, he just sees his face, mouth opening and closing with words that he doesn't register, then suddenly they echo.  ‘ take them and run ! ’

jace was struggling to move quickly, his leg throbbing in pain with his sisters either side, trying to help drag his weight. eventually they found a small hole in a wall, covered with wooden planks and stained sheets, for them to hide in while jace recovered. the recovery was slow, the wounds were open and unclean, eventually becoming infected in a matter of days and jace catching a fever. the sisters were adamant they needed to leave him to find supplies.  they were smaller and could fit through spaces he couldn't, but jace didn't want to send them out to their deaths for him, he'd be content to die if it meant they didn't risk it, especially with what happened to their brother. despite this, the girls secretly decided to sneak out one day while jace was knocked out, in too much pain to fight his fatigue. the girls got back, but barely. lily had been grabbed, scratched up and bitten by a canid in her attempt to get out. it didn't take long for his sister's cries to wake him, confused how the girl he had last seen peacefully sleeping was now screaming in fear for what the next few days meant for her and what she'd become. they were going to figure it out, cross that bridge when it came to it— but the next morning she was gone. jace and lia waited it out there for a few more days, he was still recovering and they didn't want to leave in case lily came back. they never saw her again.

two final two desai siblings eventually made it to boulder, almost giving up more times than they could count. it took them a while to settle on being settled, so used to needing to move and stay on the go to survive, but soon they realised they had found a new family.

jace dabbled in a number of different roles around campus before settling in as a bartender. he still does dabble a bit, helping out where he can and unable to say no, but the bar is practically his home.

PERSONALITY.

jace has lost almost everyone in his life, but he does still have his sister and she's honestly his last piece of hope in this big mess. so he does tend to stay strong for her and keep a bright light somewhere within him. he's as active as he can be in the community, always offering his help and lacking the ability to say no when people ask. if he had nothing, he'd still find a way to help someone else.

that being said, he can be a sarcastic little pain in the ass when he wants to be, and is forever annoyed he never got to go to college and party it up.

MISC THINGS.

Space Ghost Coast to Coast “Lawsuit” S05E04

Space Ghost is handed a lawsuit by his former sidekicks, Jan and Jace, for withholding rerun profits from them, among other things. Space Ghost enlists the help of Greta Van Susteren in his case. The lawsuit is thrown out when Jan and Jace's lawyer, Dr. Nightmare, is revealed to be Ted Turner's son.
