I find it interesting how Dazai pointed out how Dostoyevsky's ability is something that is “activated against people he touches”, and then just a few pages later we see Dostoyevsky touching someone and killing them... With a gun. Idk, I'm probably overthinking it, but it's like they were saying “that's not exactly how it is”. I wonder if there's a reason if Dostoyevsky killed the girl with a gun this time instead of using his ability or making Chuuya do it like he did with the guards. Why didn't he use his ability this time? Is it to not give Dazai any more hints on how it works? Moreover, why didn't the girl use her ability? She can arrest time in prison, she was doing it until a second ago. Why did she stop? What did Dostoyevsky do to make her stop?
