so today’s a day where I am feeling frustrated with the fact that I really have no idea of what I can actually realistically get done. like I used to do so much. and that’s what caused some really extreme burnout and just like I can’t come up with reasonable expectations for myself anymore. i always feel like I should be doing so much more, that I should be exceptional should be perfect and then I can’t live up to that standard so I get frustrated and just do nothing at all. and I wish I could self moderate better but I just can’t and it’s the most frustrating thing. like why is it always one extreme or the other???

Brothers Best Friend Pt.1
Sam Uley! x Fem!Reader!
A/N: Part one of a two-part series where Sam is your brother's friend. Slightly based on the plot of New Moon. Emily is Sam's cousin in this. I'll get part two out as soon as I can!
Warnings//: Profanity.
Summary: Sam is your brother's best friend. What happens when suddenly you start hearing rumors that they have joined a gang and gone off the rails.
B/N=Brothers name (make one up if you wish.)
Tumblr media
You had heard the rumors, “Sam started a cult”, “They must be in a gang”, and "Did you know that Sam and his goons run around the woods shirtless and perform rituals" It was all over the town. In a town with less than three thousand people, rumors are bound to spread like wildfire. You didn’t want to believe it, more so because your brother was a part of it, and you could never think of him being involved in that. No matter how much you didn’t want to accept it you couldn’t help how your mind raced with anxious thoughts.
Could your brother really be in a cult? Could Sam really be the one to lead and start it? The evidence was a harsh reality, every single person in the group including your brother had cut their long hair short and gotten a matching tattoo, and that had to be something. You decided enough was enough, enough of hearing rumors, enough of your brother ignoring your existence, enough of your parents worrying, and enough of letting your feelings for Sam blind you from the truth.
You have known Sam since childhood. Sam and your brother were close friends, which meant him being around a lot and you two having general knowledge of each other. As the years went on you had developed a small crush on the boy, but you would NEVER tell him or your brother that. You always thought he saw you as his friend's annoying little sister, and he did at least until one day that started changing. It happened slowly, the lingering glances, the protectiveness turning from one of brotherly love to jealousy, the very structure of your dynamic began to change. You decided that you push those feelings down, no matter how strong they were. You couldn't handle the thought of your brother finding out about your feelings for his best friend or even Sam for that matter, you knew he wouldn't approve, and besides the chances of Sam seeing you as anything more than the girl who used to hang out with his cousin and annoy him is very slim.
You were on your way to Sam’s house, you didn’t have a plan and you didn’t even know what you were going to say but you had determination and that was enough for you. You pulled up to Sam’s house and immediately saw multiple guys without their shirts on staring at you, you got out of the car ignoring their gazes. Heading straight for the front door you barged in without knocking.
“B/N?!” you shouted, walking through the house.
You soon realized no one was inside. You ran out of the house, looking around until you saw them. You stormed down the hill towards the woods, where Sam and your brother stood facing the trees talking. When you saw them you couldn’t help the anger that rose in your chest as you got closer and closer.
"HEY!" You yelled to the two boys, who turned their heads to look at you immediately.
You saw the confusion on both of their faces as you continued to stomp towards them. You are soon face to face with your brother, who is looking at you like you've grown two heads. Thats when you started ripping in to him.
"You need to explain everything to me right here, right now. I am tired of hearing that my big brother is now a part of some gang and that Sam Uley is the leader of it. You've ignored me for weeks, cut your hair off, gotten a tattoo. Mom and Dad are worried sick and you couldn't even pick up the damn phone like a man and explain what you've been doing. So I'm here now. Explain, and it better be good because I swear to you B/N I wont sit here and wait for you to pull your head out of your ass and realize all of the damage you've done." You say frustration bleeding from the words. You take a deep breath after the tangent.
Your brother's face shifts from confusion to understanding. He lets out a deep sigh. He was about to start talking but something stopped him. He slowly turned his head towards Sam, who is staring at you now with more intensity than you've ever seen on anyone before. Your brother started switching back and forth between you and Sam, becoming angrier and angrier each time. You were about to tell them to stop staring at you like idiots and tell you what was going on, when suddenly your brother started punching Sam repeatedly.
You stood there in shock. Before your brain could even process what was happening, they were now on the ground throwing punches wherever they could land.
"WHAT THE FUCK?......B/N, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" you exclaim through a scream.
All you can do is stand there and watch as your brother and Sam continue to throw each other around. Until, suddenly they weren't human anymore. They were gigantic wolves. You scream and fall back in shock at the sight of the two wolves, fighting their way into the woods. You sit there staring in shock as they tumble deep into the trees. You sit there for what feels like hours but is more likely a few seconds, now only hearing the sound of snarls and yelps from the distance. You begin to hear running behind you, 4 other wolves the same size jump over your head continuing into the woods. They disappear and you are left sitting, completely alone, and feeling like you are going crazy.
That didn't just happen, right? That was all in my head? What in the ever-living fuck did I just see? Why the hell did my brother start attacking Sam? How could this even be possible?, that's it I am now officially insane. These thoughts run into your head before you hear soft footsteps coming from behind you. A big contrast to the ones you heard just moments before.
"Are you okay, ?" A sweet voice calls out. You turn around to see Emily, Sam's cousin, with a calm but concerned look on her face.
"Did... did you see that?" you say in a wavering tone, barely above a whisper.
She walked over to you and grabbed your hand, helping you up off the ground and softly dusting the dirt off of your back. She always knew how to comfort someone, her presence alone was warm and inviting. You two were closer when you were little, you are still friends but haven't spoken since you started distancing yourself from Sam. You were scared of your feelings for him and the hurt it might cause, so you pushed him away and by default Emily as well.
"Everything is going to be okay, Y/N," she said in a soothing tone, careful to not spook you even more. "Why don't you come with me inside, I'll get you some tea and a blanket and we can talk about it."
She led me up the hill, rubbing a comforting circle into my back. She made me tea and wrapped a blanket around my shoulders. All I could do was stare blankly into the mug, mind running faster than my body could handle, as we sat down she began speaking.
“Your brother is a werewolf, and so is Sam and the rest of the boys,” she said giving a small smile and holding my hand. “I know it doesn’t make sense, and when they get back they can explain it better, but you have to understand he couldn’t tell you. It’s a sacred rule, and Sam enforced it. Alphas orders get obeyed whether they want it or not.” She says scanning my face for my reaction as she continues.
" I do not want to cause you more distress than you've already had today, so I'm going to leave the rest to Sam and B/N," she said smiling softly at me. She took my hand in hers and rubbed it smoothly "Unless you have any questions to ask me"
I looked up at her and shook my head no. I loved Emily but this was all too much, all I had was one question for her.
"I only have one, why did my brother attack Sam like that? It was out of nowhere, I couldn't even react it all happened so fast." I ask with confusion trying to wrap my head around all of this.
She looked at me a bit stunned as if she didn't know that piece of information, and I had just said something totally bizarre.
"He what?" she said stuttering a bit. "Wait B/N attacked Sam? Is that why they shifted? I thought the boys caught a whiff of........ nevermind" she trails off at the end, not meaning to slip up.
"Caught a whiff of what?" I ask staring at her intensely. She looks up at me like a child getting caught doing something wrong by their parents, she avoids my eyes and stands up starting to clean up what I'm assuming was lunch, until the boys were interrupted.
"Of what, Emily" I ask a bit more sternly.

You're losing me
Tumblr media Tumblr media
part 1
part 2
''Stop staring at her,it's creepy''
Pansy rolled her eyes at the blonde.
''It's not creepy, she is my girlfriend'', Draco replied, suprisingly for the first time since class started, ignoring everything else his friends were saying.
Pansy snorted,''Well apparently not''.
''Yeah man,why don't you just go talk to her instead of sending death-glares to everyone sitting next to her''
The words were simply ignored. Draco couldn't help it. He hated seeing her living like her life doesn't revolve around him anymore.
During the exam months before they take a break, all Draco thought about was to get away from you and all the tension built in your relationships. Being too busy under the exam pressure made him think your problems were nothing. He could see how your built up your guards up and how the dry conversations were cut short. He were annoyed that you kept on being strong for both of you although you were hurt. He didn't know how to handle,he couldn't find any word to make the situation better. So he ran away. But now that the exam pressure is gone, he found himself in the worse agnoy. He have to fix this.
...............................
''Y/N wait!''
''Y/N there are flowers for you in front of the common room..again''
''Miss Y/L/N, stop running in the hallway and bumping into everyone! The school is not a playground for Tag''
''Y/N I'm sorry i can't come to the library with you today''
It is an understatement to say the following weeks were funny and eventful for everyone at Hogwarts. They got some free shows to enjoy. It was a strange sight for them at first to see Malfoy trying to chase his former girlfriend. But then they got used to seeing you running in the hallway with Draco trying to catch up, flowers for you in the classes and in front of ur dorm, your friends getting paid to leave you alone, and everyone is just so invested to know what is going to be Draco's next move and how you are going to slip through it,again, some betting it won't last three weeks.
Despite you using all of your effort not to lose the bet and keep ur dignity, there you are again, back up against the walls and embraced in someone's warmth.
The familiar mixed scent of green apple and pine hovers and a wave of nostalgia washed over you with the familiar chest-ache.
There you are again– after nights and nights of crying your eyes out till they were dry– you find yourself pinned under the Draco fucking Malfoy against the cold stone wall of Hogswart .
''Y/N'', he voice cracked out of his throat betraying the tough act he is trying to put on. He just couldn't take it anymore. He can't stand the void that left him with dark circles under his eyes and he refused to believe you are doing well without him.
''Come back to me,love. I know you missed me too''
His eyes do not match the arrogance the words are carrying. You hate yourself for it but that longing gaze filled with sorrow and a tight grip on your waist was all it took to break down the self control you have tried so hard to build around you. He see right through you.
''Didn't you want this Draco, wasn't this what you wanted? away from me'',
''I was scared Y/N, i was so scared that i doubted us. So i ran away like a coward because i didn't know any better..i'm sorry'', he mean every apology he is saying.
''But now i'm scared to live without you, i don't want to be away from you, never again, please love, come back to me''
Your knees are weak and your vision is blurry. You taste something sour, is that a tear, are you crying again? ''Merlin,i'm so damn tired to crying'', you thought.
Soft lips pressed down on yours. You felt your stomach dropped. The taste of fire whiskey and your tears linger on your lips. A few sobs chocked out of you, feelings like you are finally woken up from a nightmare. All these touch and warmth, merlin knows how much you yearned for these. A sharp pain drew some blood from ur lips as if he is letting out all the frustration and finally finding comfort in it. The familiar feeling of belonging and love filled up the void.
''shouldn't have let you go my love''
Students of Hogwarts are going to be happy that they won't have to worry about falling victims to the certain couple's stunts and tantrums .
.....................................
I'm sorry this is rushed and bad but here's the ending >~<

Love for Geppie?????? Thank God, he deserves that love!!!
I'm here to drop off like a thought/cute headcanon of like my fave trope ever!
Gepard usually stays in the frontlines, usually taking in all the damage and aggro for his soldiers (I know that's his role even in game/being the tank and all but every time he gets hit and he like screams I wince hhhh) so imagine a reader who is in charge of like taking care of the wounded soldiers so she's had more than enough times dealt with Gepard (so she knows him but he doesn't quite know her yet) already.
One day, the camp had been ambushed by a bunch of Fragmentum monsters and the main force is too busy with the Frontlines so reader here, despite being a healer, had to step up as technically the only one at that time who walked a Path and can heal whoever is left to be able to fight back and give the wounded time to escape. Gepard manages to make it back in time and give enough support so they all make it out. But he was already so wounded so reader takes special care of the Captain.
By the time he wakes up, reader has been in charge of his health exclusively, being the one to nurse him back to help (partially in thanks for saving her but also because she felt the most responsible for some of his aggravated wounds) and the way she treats him slowly has him go head over heels for her. Even after she no longer needed to take care of him extensively, Gepard finds himself spending his excess free time by her tent, just chatting and getting to know her better.
By the time he realizes that he has fallen in love with his caretaker, they were very close friends and he's gotten to know her a lot.
(Yes I'm a sucker for the Florence Nightingale effect/trope and yes I will die on a hill putting this trope on my fave charas and reader asdfjgktiejdkdo)
You're right and u should say it. I noticed that Geppie def doesnt get as much attention and love as much as the other guys 😔 I love the other guys too but Geppie is my number one in HSR.
I actually have an oc who hails from a diff world and is part of the express and she was once a nurse during the war in her world. So this ask is sooo perfect xksksksml this is too perfect I'm def making a one shot about this fr
The nurse/healer x injured warrior/soldier trope will forever be dear to me, like it is sooo romantic and sweet. Fr, Gepard is a wholeass unit and tank of a man xjnskwmskw
But every now and then, a shield becomes a bit too chipped to ignore and this is very true to Gepard whenever he becomes injured. Ohh yes the capable healer being the only fighter in a camp and then Gepard bulldozing in like the knight in shining armor he is despite being injured himself is just 👌 and then he just passes out in healer reader's arms nnggg
Him being naked from the waist up and waking up to reader's tiddies right up his face bc she's wrapping bandages around him and he just splutters, not knowing where he can look 😭
This became a normal occurence in the duration she nursed him back to health bc of his injuries, like the areas he cant reach like his back, needed to be tended by a professional.
Him noticing the difference in their hands 😭 his are scarred and calloused while hers are soft and dextrous 🥺
And when he's fully recovered, he still goes to her, making an excuse that it's for check ups until there's no more excuses, they just spend time together and he always looks forward to their tea time, and she does too. She's always flustered and smiley whenever her favorite patient is around.
They're idiots in love and everybody in the camp knows it, except the two people who are in love 💀
But, at one point, nightingale reader works herself to the bone to the point of collapsing and when Gepard hears of it, he rushes to her, for once letting his men take care of the frontlines.
And this time, when she wakes up, he's right next to her, holding her hand. She gets a scolding from him and when she objects that he often overworks himself too, he gets frustrated and he just pulls her for a kiss 😩
I could go on about Nightingale reader and Gepard but I'll just have to save that for the oneshot 😏

(requested)
Soft and calming moonlight seeping in from the barely closed curtain along with the calming rain hitting over the house was the complete opposite of what was running through your mind.
The television was the only sound as you were too consumed in your own thoughts, sitting by the window. Each passing minute echoed with unanswered questions, pure worry painting your features. Even the clock seemed to be mocking you, ticking away as you waited for your boyfriend’s arrival.
3:00 a.m. hit and there wasn’t any sign of San being even close to home, you wanted to go to sleep, forget about this, pretend you didn’t care, unfortunately, you couldn’t. You reached for your phone once again, its screen flashing your loving wallpaper of him and you, the happy memory washing away as there were no notifications or phone calls.
Your eyes began to grow heavy as another hour elapsed, however, the anxiety kept you awake. You were tired, mad, worried, confused, scared, furious. He was making you feel every single emotion without even being here. How could he have such a hold on you?
The sound of the lock being opened snapped you out of your catastrophic thoughts. San entered, taking off his shoes and locking the door behind him, not noticing you were still awake.
“What the fuck?” You said into the dark house, startling him.
“Woah, Y/N. You scared me” He softly said with a light chuckle.
“Me? I scared you?” You said in a stronger voice. Was he so incredibly clueless? “I’ve been worried sick about you. Why couldn’t you tell me you were arriving this late? Why couldn’t you return my calls? Why, San?”
He was shocked at your harsh tone, like a deer caught in headlights he stepped back slightly and sighed. “Don’t worry about it, I’m sorry.” He tried to lean in and kiss your forehead but you pushed him away.
“Don’t. Where were you?” You just wanted to know what the hell was your boyfriend doing at these ungodly hours, you could be happy to hear anything as long as it wasn’t that one thing.
“It’s complicated, okay? We’ll talk about this tomorrow, love” He carried out the same calm tone.
“No. We will talk about this right now. You can’t possibly expect me to act normal after you practically disappeared for the last 6 hours” You were enraged, his ambiguity only adding to the fire.
Okay, he was also getting mad now, your constant yelling stressing him out of his mind. “You don’t want to know, princess”
“I do want to know. Just tell me” You stepped closer, he was driving you closer to the edge and so were you.
“I said, you don’t want to know. That is a no. Final answer” He started walking towards your bedroom, being done for the night. “Fucking god! Would it kill you to tell me the truth for once?” You followed him into the dark room, stopping abruptly as you entered.
Now that he had removed his coat you saw his blood splashed shirt, then he started to remove his tie “San? What happened? Is that-”
“Blood. It’s blood, it isn’t mine” He stated. Oh, it was that one thing.
You were flabbergasted. Why had he gone behind your back to do the thing he promised not to do? On top of that, he thought you wouldn’t even notice. “See? It’s complicated.” He spat back now that you were finally quiet.
“Choi San, you better tell me why the fuck did you go on another mission.” You said in a cold tone, being way too mad that you were becoming numb.
“It would just put you in danger” He continued getting ready to go to sleep as you stood there with your crossed arms, waiting for your answer.
“I don’t care, San! I don’t care if it ‘puts me in danger’. That wasn’t my question.” Frustration continued pooling deeper inside of you.
“Calm down, okay?” He was annoyed at your extreme reaction.
“I won’t calm down until you tell me” You sat down on the bed, crossing your legs and looked at him waiting for your answer. You already knew he went back to Ateez, but you needed to hear him say it.
“I know I told you I wouldn’t, but they needed me” He had admitted what you had been longing for all night.
“Was it that hard?” You sighed out tiredly. “You’re not mad?” He asked in a confused tone. “Oh, I am but not because you went back to Ateez. I am because you didn’t fucking tell me”
“I’m sorry” He leaned in to kiss you, you wanted to pull back and continue yelling at him but your body betrayed you. You returned the kiss, a little more passionately that you would’ve liked.
He lowly chuckled at your sudden passion. “Oh? Someone’s no longer mad” His hands moved to rest to your hips. “You can’t just kiss me and assume I won’t like it. We’ll talk about this in the morning.” The kiss had blurred the lines between anger and desire.
Gently, he pushed you back into the bed, kissing you and whispering sweet ‘sorrys’ in between. “I’m still furious but you know that fucking shirt makes me weak and I never knew blood could look so good on someone”
“Oh, princess. You’re in for a long night”

Christmas Fics
Christmas Season starts after Halloween I think, so I was in the mood for nice Christmas stories and made a list for everyone feeling the same!
As the popular saying goes I suck at summaries, so they are straight from the author on AO3.
a winter's tale by SeeThemFlying All in all, it is the perfect Sevenmas... except for one small detail. Jaime isn't here. (Until he is).
A Date For Sevenmas by majoris When Brienne grabbed the first man standing near her in the crowd of people to convince Hyle that she actually did have a date she expected it to be one of her friends and not Jaime Lannister of all people.
From Us to You by ddagent Jaime and Brienne accidentally send out a couple's Sevenmas card.
I Don't Want to Toe the Line by everydayescapeartist Jaime and Brienne share a lot over the years, growing up the children of parents who are the best of friends. There’s something Jaime realizes they have yet to share and he’s hoping this year’s holiday party will be their best one yet. (Also known as that cheesy JB mistletoe fic you didn’t really ask for but I felt compelled to write anyway. Cheers!)
The Perfect Gift by sea_spirit Sansa and Brienne shop for the perfect gift. Later, when Brienne and Jaime exchange presents, things don't go exactly as planned.
Traditional knitwear of Tarth by tall_wolf_of_tarth Brienne moves to Winterfell and starts to knit. Jaime Lannister is cold and no one knits for him. Lots of knitting references and fluff.
I Light A Candle To Our Love by theworldunseen Jaime is in love with his best friend Brienne, and he thinks she might feel the same way, but something is holding her back.
That something? Her dad is Santa Claus.
The Gift by Lady_in_Red Brienne finds the perfect gift for Jaime but worries that it reveals too much about her feelings for him.
All Brienne Wants for Sevenmas by ikkiM Brienne Tarth is convinced no one ever looks at her Sevenmas list for the office gift exchange.
Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, and Kind by EllisJay Jaime is in love with his best friend, Brienne, and has plans to tell her….one day. Eventually. Definitely in the next year for sure. He's nearly 100% sure of that, or maybe 80% sure. A spur-of-the-moment Christmas gift bumps up his timeline considerably.
Santa baby by sdwolfpup Brienne tells Santa what she really wants for Christmas. Can he work a little Christmas magic to get it for her?
Twelve Days by Lady_in_Red Most people just buy liquor or silly socks for an office holiday gift exchange. Brienne's gifter is going way overboard. She'd love to tell them to stop, if only she knew who they were.
Merry Christmas, I'm Yours by theworldunseen Single dad Jaime Lannister loves three things the most: his daughter Myrcella, coffee, and his best friend Brienne Tarth. Also Pop Tarts. So, four things. Now that curmudgeonly diner owner Brienne is single, will he make a move this Christmas season?
A gender-flipped Gilmore Girls AU with little plot, lots of fluff, and bonus smut at the end!
Brienne and the Christmas Calendar by angel_deux Brienne writes scripts for a television network that exclusively produces shitty romance movies. That's not the ONLY reason she hates the Christmas season, but it's a pretty big part of it. Her roommate and best friend Jaime, on the other hand, is filled to the brim with holiday cheer.
Or: Jaime does the whole Christmas Advent Calendar thing, and Brienne is oblivious.
Christmas Lights by theworldunseen It's Christmas time again, and Brienne really misses her best friend and former roommate, Jaime. She misses him so much, she even decorates for Christmas, despite her well-known hatred of the holiday. All she can do is put up Christmas lights and hope the love of her life might come home.
Jaime Lannister: Christmas Miracle by LeoSapphirus Brienne breaks her leg before the holidays and is forced to cancel her plans. She expects to spend Christmas alone. Jaime isn't having any of that.
Office Christmas Party by LSquaredSTL Brienne is frustrated - her job is keeping her from going home for the holidays and she can't stand her co-worker, Jaime. The office Christmas party changes everything.
you'd better not pout! by slipsthrufingers Office Christmas means one thing and one thing only: Secret Santa. Five times Brienne Tarth was disappointed by the office Secret Santa and one time she wasn't.

PSG vs FC Lorient : Luis Enrique's first is a success despite the draw.
Tumblr media
Ladies, Gentlemen, Gays and Theys. It is the official start of the 2023-2024 football season and for us PSG supporters, that means the comeback of the most entertaining drama show that gives Game of Thrones a run for their money. But today, we'll talk football.
I am delighted to anounce that it also means the comeback of the Football theses. For those of you that are unfamiliar with this format, they're game reviews where I try breaking down what I think we did right, what's missing, and where I give my tops and flops.
This is the first game. Therefore it's way too early to draw conclusions, which means it'll be brief. It's also a new season with a hectic but diverse mercato, and a brand new coach who is one of the greatest in Europe and who we should give time to adapt. Yet, I think he's already made his mark.
Lorient is very far off posing any kind of threat. They ranked 10th last year and we've won both games against them last year. So a final score of 0-0 might send everyone into panicked frenzy, and people might already decide the faith of our team this season.
That is if you haven't watched the game.
Because let me tell you : we might not have scored, or had that many great opportunities, but we played football. And as ridiculous as that sounds, after last season, that in itself is a HUGE step in the right direction for the club.
Enrique has brought in his Spanish football way, which is the ball possession way. 97% possession in the first 10 minutes, 77.8% by the end of the matcch and a total of ONE. THOUSAND (1000) passes, making it the first team to do that in a Ligue 1 game in History. Ball possession can be a questionable play choice in an era where football leans more towards transition, but we'll take it for now because that was the most eager pressing I've seen from a PSG team in years.
Not only did Paris dominate in keeping the ball, they were also masters in ball recovery. They were such a compact block some thought there were 13 players on the pitch, not 11. *Hang on, I need to wipe my tears. Never in my LIFE did I ever think I would type that about PSG.* The Red and Blues have recovered a total of 24 balls in the opposite half, making it the HIGHEST TOTAL for a Top 5 European team in the last 10. years. I know, I can't believe it either. PSG, you guys. PSG recovering balls. I'm about to go in the lockeroom put salt in the corners to protect our players from evil eye.
Anyway, this shows that Enrique has brought in a real game identity and that is something I am ecstatic about.
So what did we miss ?
With PSG, there's always something missing. We finally have an eager group that wants to play together, our defense is finally FINALLY reassuring. But unfortunately, when one problem is solved, another arises.
The midfield is no longer the black hole it was last year, but it is now...loading. Despite WZE's talent and Vitinha showing more capability than he has last year, new players need time. We no longer have a creative player in the squad, a playmaker, and most importantly : we lack dynamism and percussion in the attack. We need players that are quicker, not only in pace but in decsion making, that are capable of that spark of genius that will unlock the trick. They were in the stands last night.
Tops:
Danilo Perreira: THE real capi. I don't care, he was one of the best players last night, and he lead by example in intensity.
Lucas Hernandez : I pray that he doesn't get hurt. Dude is monstruous and deserved getting that first applause of the game.
Warren Zaire-Emery : absolute crack. I cannot wait to see him become one of the best midfielders of his generation.
Flops: it's too early to tell. There was a lot of great potential shown, and although some players took some time getting their head in the games (Hakimi), they still ended the game properly.
Carlos Soler.
Hugo Ekitike.
Overall, I am very optimistic despite the frustrating result.
As some of the Lorient players interviewed said: PSG is now more about teamwork, and less about individuality and talent. To make a great team, you need both. The truth always lays in the middle.
Thank you for reading !

fated and marked, soulmates are supposed to be your destiny. you are connected to him by his heart and him to yours. but despite the cosmic or even divine intervention, you felt that he is not wholly yours. why is destiny so cruel to you?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Liz and Beomgyu sat on your dining table as you nervously walk back and forth in front of them.
Beomgyu leaned forward to get closer to Liz without taking his eyes off of you. "How long has it been since she's been in this state?" He asked her. Liz looked down to her watch before answering Beomgyu, "10 minutes," she said. Beomgyu nodded at that, "Okay, that's... Not so concerning maybe-" "Before you got here," Liz added, cutting Beomgyu off.
The man sighed and leaned back into his chair, "(y/n) you're gonna create a dent on the floor from that like the steps in The Great Wall," he whined, wanting you to stop.
You snapped your head at him with eyes widened, "Do you think that's any of my concerns right now? Gyu, I'm in PERIL," you finally dropped to the chair closest to you. The position was parallel to a couple of weeks ago when Beomgyu and Liz invited themselves to help you sort your feelings out. "Guys, can I just... Ask the ground to open up and swallow me whole?" you looked at both of them, it was clear that the dilemma between Wooyoung and Yunho was eating you up from the inside and you were beyond affected.
At that moment, your head slowly turned and you blinked at Beomgyu. "By the way, when did you get here?"
Liz almost choked on her water while Beomgyu's eye twitched at your question. He understood that you weren't really in the right state of mind so he simply handed you a small glass filled halfway with Bailey's. Liz scrunched her nose at the sight. Although she is the only one out of the three who isn't allowed to drink, she still knows alcohol from hanging out with your group. "You bringing Bailey's to this kind of situation is very confusing... And concerning. I feel like Yeosang and San will kick your ass," she said, shaking her head as she saw you pouring yourself another half glass.
Beomgyu glared at her, "(y/n) needs something comforting but also something that can help her calm down. I thought of ice cream and beer float but I thought this schmancy ass liquor might be perfect. I'm being a useful friend, what do you bring to the table?" he smirked. Liz took that as a challenge as she started to crack her fingers and neck, "Watch and learn," she then leaned closer to you, "What happened?" she asked.
Your eyes shifted from the glass to her. "I- I think I made a mistake," you said. While Beomgyu's eyes immediately widened, Liz kept her calm, "What do you mean by a mistake?" You swallowed a lump in your throat before answering her, "I think I shouldn't have gotten into this romantic relationship thing with Wooyoung when I was still unsure about me and Yunho," you blurted out in one breath. "Why?" Liz asked. "Because I feel bad for them both, you know? One of them is gonna get hurt if not both, and I don't want that. They deserved more than to get hurt and I shouldn't have done what I did," you dropped your head into your hands that were resting on the table.
Beomgyu and Liz looked at each other, surprised that the issue was more extensive than they had initially assumed. "I mean..." Beomgyu started, catching your attention, "They knew what they were getting themselves into, right? I mean, it's not like YOU were the one who put them in that position in the first place, you were also unwillingly put there!" He made a point. It wasn't like you asked to be put into that situation yourself, things just happened. "True... But I still feel bad, you know? I don't wanna choose, it just doesn't sit right with me having the power to break someone's heart," you crossed your arms as you firmly shook your head, looking frustrated.
Liz sighed when she saw you like that, "Is this because you love them equally but they're giving you two different things?" she asked, remembering what you had told them a while ago. "Yeah, that's the issue. I mean, how can I choose? Why do I have to choose anyways? I... I can't do it, it's too conflicting. And the fact that they don't know that I'm assessing them both like this..." You groaned mid-sentence, "Wait, that sounds wrong... I... Didn't mean to make it seem like they're an assignment or anything, it's just that I don't like the fact that I'm making mental notes of how they made me feel when we're hanging out together, you know? It felt unfair and the guilt is eating me up!" without thinking, you poured yourself another half glass of Bailey's and gulp it in one go, letting the burn of alcohol go through your throat. "Great choice getting Bailey's, by the way," you tipped your glass to Beomgyu in acknowledgement who beamed happily at you before he stuck his tongue out at Liz.
"Maybe..." Beomgyu drawled on, the gears in his brain turning, "If it's the guilt of 'assessing' them behind their backs, you could... Tell them?" Hearing that, Liz rolled her eyes, "Beomgyu, do you think-" But you cut her off, "No Liz, let him finish," making her widen her eyes in surprise because she didn't think that Beomgyu could be correct. "Yeah, I think telling them can alleviate your guilt so you can just try to be open with them. You said that you don't like the fact that you made mental notes about them when you guys are together, so just let them know!" he said with a proud grin on his face.
You took a moment to let Beomgyu's words sink in and slowly you found yourself regaining strength and hope. "No, you're right... I should tell them about this. Be open, right?" but then your smile dropped, "But what if they hate me because of it? What if they think I'm just playing them? What if they make an ultimatum and make me choose then and there and because of this big decision, it'll alter the nature of our relationship once and for all and in the future, the decision I make and the words I used can be used against me?" you nervously blabbered, your head slowly filling with the worst case scenario and the confidence that you had just found was threatening to be swallowed up again.
Immediately, Liz and Beomgyu reached for your hands, holding it in their own, "Okay, no, we're not gonna think about the negatives okay? There's a very low chance of them reacting horribly," Liz said, looking straight into your eyes as her thumbs caressed the skin of the back of your hand. "Yeah, knowing them... They won't think of you like that. Believe me. Wooyoung hyung simps over you hard, and you said it yourself that he was aware that you're going to have to make a choice, right? He would never, not in good conscious state anyways, think that low of you. And I might not know Yunho hyung well, but I'm willing to bet that even if he had doubts or if he's wary, he would never dump it on you," Beomgyu said, smiling at you to calm you down.
Hearing Beomgyu talk some sense made Liz raise an eyebrow at him. The man rolled his eyes as his leg kicked Liz slightly, "Yes, I'm capable of being very much level-headed, shut up,"
"So... When do you think I should talk to them?" you asked. "Well, up to you really. You're the only one who can determine when is the right moment because you're the one who's going to need to talk about it," Liz said throwing you a sympathetic smile. You wanted to whine and complain and just reject the idea of having to talk about it, but you know it was the right thing. "It's gonna have to be soon, isn't it?" you asked, looking back and forth between them to which they wordlessly nodded.
"Hey, even if it's soon, you don't have to do it tonight," Beomgyu said as he fished out his phone, "Let me call San hyung and Yeosang hyung, we'll have a sleepover and pull a prank on one of them!" he grinned widely at you, thumbs already busy looking for the contact of your other two best friends. As Beomgyu called them, Liz pulled you into a hug, "No matter what happens, we'll always support you, okay? Unless it involves something insanely stupid, then we might have to intervene," you laughed at her but hugged her back nevertheless.
Despite the weight of having to have a serious conversation with the two men you're in romantic turmoil with, that night you couldn't seem to be bothered by it.
Not when you saw San barging into your apartment with four boxes of pizza that dropped to the floor as he draped himself on you in a bear hug. Not when Yeosang asked you to lift your hands up to put his hoodie on you like a kid. And not when Beomgyu and Liz dotted on you like as if you were a baby that started because Beomgyu said that he wanted the complete boyfriend experience and Liz saying that he was doing the father experience which spiralled into Beomgyu calling himself daddy and a whole competition started between them.
Come night, when you're sandwiched between San and Beomgyu, your mind wandered to the possible outcomes of your impending conversation.
It should be alright, right?

❝ Eret ❞
I imagine him doing what Mark did with Ethan when he forgot how to say "skillet"
He just hints at the word and lets you go crazy for 10 minutes until you remember
At least you remembered it all on your own!
But he gets a kick out of it too
"What's that word...that you use when you're angry?"
"Angry? Haha"
"Well duh- the other one"
"Fr-" "Frrrrr" "Fru-" "Fruit" "No, haha, Frus" "Frusted" "That's not a word, again, frust-" "Frustrated! Thank you!"

*When D10 heard the news about Jerry being an corrupt he was quick to anger and confusion.*
Diesel: Hey dad I need to ask you something - *he stopped before he could say anything more. He knows that D10 wasn't happy* ..... Dad? You ok?...... Dad?....
D10: *he nods slowly but his face and voice says otherwise* .... I'm fine.... I just need some air... *He quickly walks out of his room.*
Tumblr media
*Diesel already knew that D10 was not happy one bit, he watched his dad rush outside.*
D10: *he was pissed off, he tried to keep himself calm by breathing but the more he tried the more angry he got. Then he snapped and screamed loudly in frustration and anger. He felt betrayed by Jerry at this very moment.* THAT FUCKING TRAITOR! HE WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR MOST OF THOSE CASES!! HE MURDER MOST OF THOSE PEOPLE!!!! HE TRICKED ME AND EVERYONE ELSE!!! GOD FUCKING DAMNIT!!!!
*D10 was so angry and betrayed that he couldn't control his own self. His power grew as his anger grew more.*
Tumblr media
D10: *He screams loudly in anger.*
*Even though he used his powers for a bit it was enough to make the ground shake violently*
Diesel: !!!!!!!- DAD STOP PLEASE YOU'RE HURTING YOURSELF AND YOU'RE GOING TO HURT US IF YOU DON'T STOP THIS!!! *He ran fast to his dad and grabbed him by the arm. He called out for his dad to make him pay attention to him and to calm down.* ..... Dad please calm down..... Please..... Please.... Just calmed down.....
D10: *he looked at Diesel and his eyes widen he saw the calm down a bit but before he fully could he heard something click in his head and then his body went all weak it was almost paralyzed then d10 knew that this was not good blood started to drip out from his mouth, nose, eyes, neck, and also where where his horrible injury was on his face. He was in a lot of pain his breathing was harsh and heavy he sounded like if someone's lungs were filling up with their own blood.* H-Help,......
Tumblr media
Diesel: !!!!!- DAD!
James: *He quickly runs out to see what happened and he was in shock* WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED!!?!
Atharva: *He quickly walks over when he too heard all of this* What is going on - *gasp!!* ...... *He took one good look at d10 and he already knew what was up.* .......
D10: *he looked at everyone and then fainted.*
.....
*a few hours later*
D10: *he slowly wakes up and realizes that he is no longer outside in fact he was in the diesel works his body was in less pain he looked around as the room was empty it was only him and some equipment to fix broken humanoids.* What happened? ..... Why am I here?
Mavis: You're awake! I was so worried about you old man....
Tumblr media
D10: Mavis? Is that you?
Mavis: Of course it is! I'm surprised you even remember me...
D10: what happened?
Mavis: You somehow put so much pressure in your brain that it ripped open from the inside! ....... but luckily I was able to put it all back together.. and also you were very lucky that the injury was small....
D10: .... Oh God..... *He felt the back of his head where he could feel where they fixed his head and patched it up.*
Mavis: Do you even remember how you added so much pressure to your brain? *She asked quietly* ......
D10: I don't know..... Every time I try to remember my head goes blank........
Mavis: yikes it must be that bad .... Hmm .
*Then the two hear Atharva and Proteus talking to the others.*
Atharva: YOU GUYS KNEW THAT D10 HAS THIS POWER!? YOU KNEW THAT HE WAS A MAGIC HUMANOID?!
Proteus: *he whispered a bit* aren't diesels not supposed to be magic humanoids?...
Tumblr media
Diesel: NO ONLY I KNEW! NOT THE OTHERS!! I WAS AWARE THAT MY DAD HAD POWERS EVER SINCE I WAS LITTLE!!
Atharva: DO YOU REALIZED THAT DIESELS ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO HAVE MAGIC HUMANOID ABILITIES!?!? I HAVE TO GET RID OF THEM NOW!!!
Proteus: *gasp!!!* NO WE ARE NOT DOING THAT! ARE YOU CRAZY!?! YOU'LL MAKE HIM WEAK! HE'LL MOST LIKELY DIE!!
Diesel: WE ARE NOT GOING TO TAKE MY DAD'S POWERS AWAY!
Atharva: YES I AM!!
*Everyone was arguing loudly while James kept on trying to talk and then he got frustrated that no one was listening to him*
James: EVERYONE SHUT UP NOW!!! *He whistles loudly that a glass window cracked a bit*
*Everyone went quite fast. They all look at James.*
James: *he breathed heavily and then sighs* ..... We are not going to remove anything from anyone ya hear? ....
Atharva: But diesel's are not supposed to have this power!
James: I DON'T GIVE A DAMN! WE ARE NOT GOING TO TAKE HIS POWERS AWAY!!.... *he sighs heavily* Besides didn't you listen? Proteus said that D10 would become weak if you do.... And if you do take his powers... He might as well be dead... So we are not going to take his powers if it's only keeping him alive and well....
Proteus: and...... And maybe we could teach him how to fully control his powers?
Atharva: ...... *Sigh* fine..... Fine.....
D10: ...... *His eyes widen* ...... What's going on you guys? ... *He walks out of the room to them*
Diesel: DAD! *He runs up to his dad*
Atharva: *he was stunned* How.... How is he still... alive?...... *He thought to himself*
*Everyone else was glad that D10 was..... ok.... Though Atharva was confused.... He knew that D10 was alive and well but..... These incidents normally caused the humanoid to be dead ..... Maybe it was the necklace that kept him safe?.... Who even knows...*
Diesel: Dad! Do you remember what happened? .... I heard that your brain was ripped up from the.... Inside.... Can you remember anything?
D10: Yeah.... But I...... I don't remember.... How this happened.... What happened?
Diesel: ..... We'll.... We'll tell you later.... But now... You should go back and get some rest.....
D10: ..... I .. *sigh* .... Yeah ... I guess you're right.... I guess I should......

Ch. 3 - According to Me
Tumblr media
'According to me' is the only 'according to' that matters.
Charlie flung herself down on the couch in her brother's office and pulled a book from her messenger bag. Now that she had calmed down a bit, Charlie wished that she hadn't been so candid with him. She wished she hadn't given so much away.
Not that it mattered. She was in a no-win situation. Probably.
She didn't know how long Harvey would be gone, but seeing as Donna had made it clear his schedule was booked for the day, Charlie hoped he'd be busy most of the afternoon, too busy to deal with her at least.
She set down her book and pulled out her cell phone. Mike was probably busy, but she figured a request that he stop by if he had a spare moment in his afternoon couldn't hurt. Mike was a smart guy—brilliant, actually, but he was also the type of smart guy who still did dumb stuff that pissed off Harvey from time to time. Mike was almost as used to getting scolded by her brother as she was. Maybe he could help her strategize.
Or at the very least, Mike could empathize.
Mike was very good at that. He hadn't been working for Harvey for very long, but Charlie had liked him from the spot, bonding with the first year associate quickly, finding it much easier to confide certain things to Mike, rather than to either Harvey or Donna. In a short time, she'd discovered that Mike was a good listener. He was an adult—a voice of reason, but cool about it. When compared to Harvey, Mike was just more understanding. And he knew how to keep a secret if Charlie asked him to. If Harvey was just coming around to the idea of Mike Ross being his family, Charlie had already adopted the associate as a brother.
Within five minutes of sending the text, Charlie was scooting over to give Mike a place to sit down. He unbuttoned his suit as he settled beside her, placing his feet up on Harvey's coffee table.
"What are you doing here?" Mike stole away the book she had been reading, glancing at the title before he set it aside.
Charlie gave him a look, rolling her eyes before getting more comfortable on the couch. "Currently I'm not moving from this office until Supreme Master Harvey allows otherwise."
"That's not what I meant," Mike said as he shook out his wrist and checked his watch. It was still early afternoon. He hadn't even thought about taking lunch yet…probably wouldn't even get one today. "Why aren't you at school?"
"Oh, that." Charlie gave him a brief smile and shifted closer, putting her feet up beside his.
"Yeah, that," Mike snorted, nudging his elbow into her side.
She nudged him back, halfheartedly digging her elbow into his arm to push him away, sighing and giving up when Mike didn't budge. "I may have been sent home early on somewhat questionable terms."
"Questionable terms," Mike echoed. "I see. Does Harvey know that yet?"
"He knows something happened," she shrugged. "Haven't disclosed any of the details to him yet. Jessica stole him away before word vomit took over."
Mike chuckled. "Lucky. What was it this time?"
"Well, I was in US Gov and—"
Mike shifted away from Charlie, facing her head-on rather than from the side and Charlie huffed before setting her hand on his arm to still him, to keep him on her side, both literally and figuratively.
"Alright, wait. Mike, please just listen. It was all Heskett's fault. She's such a—" Charlie intended on filling in the space with a curse of some sort, but she thought better of it, and let out a frustrated groan instead. "Just…it wasn't my fault, alright? Not entirely."
Mike rubbed his temples. "He might kill you, Charlie." He looked at her, shaking his head. "Hell, I kind of want to kill you right now."
Charlie wasn't sure why she'd expected any other reaction under the circumstances, considering this whole mess pertained to Isabelle Heskett, Charlie's US Government teacher, who also happened to be the youngest daughter of one of Harvey's more difficult to please clients.
Mike watched Charlie, shaking his head…in frustration…in disbelief. He had spent countless hours working on the Heskett account, but they were still barely making progress. Negotiations on the merger were at a near standstill, yet somehow continuously created a mountain of paperwork. Mike couldn't fully blame Charlie for any of that, but he knew that Mr. Heskett and his people were notoriously petty. It wasn't entirely uncommon for the subject of Charlie and Isabelle's connection to come up either before or directly following a business meeting with Mr. Heskett, and it was rarely a positive discussion.
"You have gotta stop getting in trouble," Mike finally said. "And especially with her."
It wasn't as if Mike had been the type of kid to stay out of trouble. He'd been a handful when he was in high school. He figured Harvey had been as well. But there was just something about Charlie and this teacher in particular. Almost like the kid just couldn't help herself, like it was a sport and she enjoyed it, trying to best the woman.
If she was anything like her father, Mike assumed Heskett was a piece of work, but still…
Charlie let her head fall back against the cushion. She rubbed her face before looking back at Mike. "I know, alright? But please just listen."
Mike sighed but nodded, settling himself in for whatever Charlie had to say. He was always willing to listen. He always was willing to hear her out. And he didn't start it off by giving long-winded lectures about her stories and their assumed deviations from the truth, either.
"Alright, so she was giving us this diatribe during the debate, spouting all this completely false rhetoric so I just offered my opinion to the class, supported entirely by fact by the way. And apparently, that was some 'gross act of disrespect'…her words, not mine. It's just ridiculous. She sends me off to Ollie for just breathing the wrong way. Plus, she's a goddamn imbecile. Harvey pays way too much for some idiot to be up there on her proverbial soapbox spewing that crap. I swear…Isabelle Heskett wouldn't know the law of the United States if it hit her in the head, Mike. It's not right. I'm not meant to be smarter than someone with a goddamn master's degree."
Mike could've sworn he heard Harvey in clips and phrases as he listened to Charlie talk. He could always sense the influence of his boss in Charlie, but especially when she was riled like this. He would never tell either of them, but the two were so alike that it could be almost too much at times.
Encouraged by Mike's sustained reserve, his nodding along as she talked, Charlie delved further, sharing the specifics—her chosen argument, the facts she'd used to back it up…If he hadn't known better than to encourage her too strongly in something like this, Mike might have told the girl that her argument was good. Really good. It was solid, and it contained more depth and insight and evidence to back it all up than he had seen from associates he worked with in the bullpen. But Mike knew Harvey wouldn't appreciate him encouraging Charlie's behavior. Not when it was something like this.
"Charlie, you're right." Mike kept his praise light, but the smile that lit up her face at his words didn't escape him. "I know you know your stuff, but Harvey is still going to kill you."
Charlie rolled her eyes, finishing with a smile. "He won't kill me. I'm his favorite sister."
Mike didn't bother pointing out that Charlie was Harvey's only sister, as far as the two of them were aware, anyway. "Favorite sister or not, you're not making his bad day any better."
"Bad day?" Charlie bit her lip. She was typically good at picking up on these things, especially when it related to her brother, but Harvey had been pretty hard to read. He'd obviously been annoyed to see her in his office, but other than that he'd seemed fine. His usual self. Even if he'd been busy with work, he hadn't seemed particularly bothered.
"He seemed fine," she said. "Annoyed with me obviously, but fine."
"Yeah, well, right before you got here, Heskett sent back the latest contract asking for more revisions before tomorrow's meeting." Mike shook out his watch to check the time. "And I better get back to work on that."
"Seriously?" Charlie asked, shaking her head.
Mike had been avoiding trying to make the same connection in his own mind. He didn't want to blame Charlie for his extra work, or for Harvey's extra sullen mood, or for the botched merger, but the dots were clearly there just waiting to be connected.
"She is such a fucking bitch," Charlie muttered, more to herself than anyone else as Harvey swanned into the room, unnoticed by either Mike or Charlie until it was far too late.
"What was that, Charlotte?"
Charlie met her brother's eye for a moment, finding that she couldn't quite match his gaze or at least, she couldn't hold it. Harvey had caught her off guard coming into the room like that, and she didn't really want to get into it with him over her choice of language so she shook her head, mumbling a quiet "nothing," as she reached across Mike to grab the book she was meant to be reading in Harvey's absence.
"Right." Harvey's eyes lingered on his sister until she opened the book and he shifted his stare to his associate. "And you can get back to work, Mike. I don't pay you to put your feet up and entertain my kid sister. I can hire a hot nanny for that."
Mike excused himself without a witty response and Charlie continued staring at the paperback in her hand. In the blessed silence that remained, Harvey crossed the room and took his time pouring a drink. Charlie shifted on the couch as Harvey slid into the armchair adjacent to her.
Harvey took a sip of his drink, feeling the smoky liquid burn slide down his throat, before he looked to his sister.
"So, I think you were just about to tell me why exactly Pearson-Hardman has been blessed with your presence this afternoon."
Charlie's eyes stayed on her book. "Let's just skip to the part where you tell me I'm grounded."
Harvey set his drink down on the coffee table and focused his undivided attention on his sister. "I'm not playing games, Charlie."
Charlie continued scanning the page of her book, the letters and spaces registering in her eyes though her mind refused to make any decent sense of them.
"It's not a big deal," Charlie offered, lifting the page slightly between her fingertips as she continued to scan the last paragraph, flipping to the next page even though she knew she'd have to read it all again. She hadn't absorbed a single word of it. "I didn't even get in trouble with Ollie. Not really, anyway."
"Charlotte."
Harvey waited for her eyes to meet his, half surprised she did so, though she still held the book open, her gaze ready to slide right back if he allowed her the opportunity, so Harvey continued, his tone deliberately sharp. "I want you to put the goddamn book away and tell me what you did. Right now."
Charlie recognized the tone. Lawyer Harvey. It left little space for her to wiggle so she followed her brother's directive, closing the book and setting it on top of her bag.
"All I did was stand up for what was right, Harvey. I did exactly what I was taught to do, what you have always taught me to do. That's all."
Harvey pinched the bridge of his nose for a moment. "Somehow I doubt that."
Something in Harvey's dismissal struck a chord deep within her and suddenly convincing Harvey of her truth was a challenge Charlie simply had to accomplish—getting out of trouble aside. She was driven by something else completely, and whatever strategy she'd come to in order to minimize that was quickly pushed aside as the words rushed out of her. "She was basically telling us lies, Harvey, just completely making stuff up and when I, very appropriately, pointed it out, that sorry excuse for an educator said that I was wrong. That I was the one making it up. That I hadn't done my research. But I always do my research so I proved that idiot wrong in front of everyone and she just didn't like it. She said I was just being 'disrespectful' and sent me to Ollie's office and—"
''Which class?" Harvey asked, his voice low as it interrupted her rant, Charlie's mouth hanging open for a moment as she digested the question, a question which she should have anticipated. A question she should have been prepared for.
Because Harvey was prepared. He'd only asked because he already knew the answer. He had already known who his sister was in trouble with. It had become a theme of sorts over the course of the school year. He wasn't going to do the work though. He wanted his sister to put the nail in her own coffin.
Charlie met Harvey's eye, already worrying her bottom lip by the time he raised an eyebrow.
"Which teacher are you talking about, Charlotte?" Harvey's question was deliberately slow, each one of the words terrifyingly spoken—deadly. Charlie was fairly certain her brother wouldn't actually kill her, but he still scared the shit out of her sometimes.
She glanced away from him for a moment, reassured by the wall of glass behind them. If Harvey did have the urge to kill her, there would be witnesses. Many of them. Charlie wondered if the panes of glass were sound proof, releasing her lip as she met his eye again. "Just promise you're not going to yell."
Harvey shook his head. "I'm not going to promise you a goddamn thing and I won't ask the question again."
Charlie sunk further into the cushions.
"Miss Heskett," Charlie started, crumbling quickly under Harvey's hardened gaze, a bit of fire flashing in his eyes at her admission. Charlie looked away, needing a moment to regain her composure so she could continue on, explain it all a little better. She started talking before pulling her eyes back to him, hoping the fortitude would come once she got started. "And if you just hear me out, you'll agree with me. And according to Mike—"
"No, I'm not going to hear you out and I don't give a shit what my associate thinks," Harvey cut her off, his voice raising as he went. "According to me is the only 'according to' that matters as far as you're concerned. And according to my memory, you were supposed to be letting this little feud go."
Charlie remembered the conversation well. The conversations, she supposed, because there had been many of them over the last few months. And Harvey had told her to let it go. He'd told her to knock it off and be the bigger person, to suck it up. He'd even had Marcus weigh in on it, had their brother call her up and tell her to cool it. And Charlie had agreed. Agreed to try, but apparently it was harder to implement in practice than in theory. It didn't matter though because Charlie was still focused on something that Harvey had yet to acknowledge, that she wasn't the only one involved in this whole mess.
"But she started it, Harvey! She was just being a bitch because—"
"Enough, Charlotte."
"But—"
"I've heard enough," Harvey shouted as he stood up. "You're grounded. And I don't want to hear that goddamn word out of your mouth again. Get started on your homework."
Charlie's fists clenched at her side, but she didn't say anything as Harvey moved toward his desk. She wanted to shout about the unfairness of it all. That Harvey hadn't even bothered to try to entertain her side of things, to listen to her. He'd barely let her get to the end of her sentences without cutting her off, cutting right through what he deemed as bullshit.
"And when you're finished with that, you can help with organizing the Coleman briefs. We'll talk about this more at home."
Charlie knew she should have stopped then. Harvey was very near his desk, and she should have just let him get there. She should have let him sit down and sip his drink and distract himself with his emails before heading to his next meeting. She should have just got her book back out and started re-reading the page and a half that she'd blurred through just now, but something deep in Charlie's gut compelled her to have the last word, to fight him just for the sake of it.
"You already said I'm grounded," she said as she put her feet up on the coffee table. "I can't imagine there's much else for us to talk about."
"Charlotte, you better drop the goddamn attitude."
Harvey thought he might lose it as he watched his younger sister's eyes roll in her head. The whole gesture screaming 'or what?' even though she hadn't moved her smart ass mouth to ask the question. Sometimes he missed the more easy-going kid Charlie had once been. She had always been a handful, but at least she hadn't talked back to him so much back then. She hadn't put her goddamn shoes up on the coffee table, rolling her eyes and giving him headaches. She hadn't tested him like this.
"And give me your phone," Harvey added, holding out his hand.
Charlie's mouth fell open and Harvey wanted to laugh. He'd surprised her. Good. Harvey thought to himself.
"But—"
"I would prefer not to embarrass you here in front of everyone, Charlotte, so just do as I ask."
Charlie pulled her feet from the coffee table and crossed the room to meet him. She slapped her ever so precious cell phone into Harvey's hand and he nearly sighed in relief that she hadn't fought him on it because even though he would've done it, Harvey's words had been the truth. He had no desire to make a scene here at the office, to embarrass her in public.
But he still had to make a point. He still had to set boundaries. Before Charlie could walk back to the couch, Harvey's free hand clasped around her wrist and she paused, meeting his eye.
"And you leave Mike alone. He's got extra work to do to make up for the fact that you can't keep your mouth shut."

THG book 1 reread thoughts
THG rereads book 1
The TBOSAS movie inspired me to finally read that book and reread the originals
The start does well at setting the scene, but that might be helped by having first read knowledge to work off of.
"inside the woods is the only person with who I can be myself: Gale" is common Everthorne fodder but in context it comes right after who can be trusted with political rants. A child repeating what they shouldn't is I thought of with Posy but it's mentioned with Katniss and Prim. Tesserae did seem like part of divide and conquer within districts, and Katniss describes Gale saying just that.
There is much more to the story than the love triangle, of course, but I couldn't avoid thinking about Everlark shippers insisting it was set up already. I do see a lot of potential with Peeta and not much romantic about Gale however close they are otherwise. (At first I saw friends-to-lovers potential with Everthorne and figured Everlark happened because of shared experience with the Games)
I'm hardly starving but could still relate to the dumpster diving - the bins had just been emptied is frusting timing. I forgot the details of the all important Peeta giving Katniss bread. It was fresh but burnt, I had mentally assumed it was stale. Deliberately burnt to give away? Even if it's a lost sale rather than just giving away something that would be trashed anyway, she's still being cruel. Also note that Mr. Mellark will only trade for squirrels when she's not around. When Peeta didn't say anything to Katniss, I had assumed he was too much of a dork to talk to girls (I can relate to that too) but I got the clear impression he was scared of his mother.
Haymitch and Effie's appearances were refreshing - highlights there's more to him than a drunken idiot and more to her than being vapid about the show.
I wonder if Haymitch told Peeta about the forcefield around the tribute center because of the one at the edge of Haymitch's arena. Avoiding tributes escaping or being killed (note no fighting each other, with neutral sparring partners available) before the Games felt like a reaction to the haphazard early procedures in TBOSAS.
Katniss worrying about not helping Lavinia feels kinda like Coriolanus and the Sejanus situation from TBOSAS.
I had forgotten the beginning to middle Games because the finale was so dramatic.
I thought of Clove as the District 2 psycho, but Cato isn't the most mentally stable individual either, I had remembered him as more of a straight up meathead/jock. "I kill her in my own way" could be interpreted in a particularly sinister manner. It reminds me of the hero escaping because the villain takes his time, like monologuing to a captive James Bond. Maybe it's doubly personal because of not only his close call with the tracker jackers, but Glimmer's horrific death, a Cato/Glimmer hint perhaps.
I rmembered Rue helped Katniss by pointing out the tracker jacker nest, but I forgot how closely they worked together. Rue talking about 11 being even worse than 12 made me think of all things The Big Bang Theory - Stuart the comic book store owner is even more antisocial than the nerd main characters. Maybe dramatic contrast is part of the point. Katniss thinking that conversation might get censored made me think of how a Peeta interview in Mockingjay was quite interesting for the audience as no Victor had previously spoken publically about their experience in the arena.
Marvel killing Rue with Katniss immediately shooting him was hard to forget but I hadn't remembered he snared her first. The memorial wasn't as extensive as I recalled but perhaps that's because the movie really emphasized it.
Careers carrying minimal food and being vulnerable to disruptions was interesting as both a comment about starvation and Games strategy.
I also hadn't remembered the fire sequence. Perhaps Haymitch was able to save sponsor money for the burn ointment because Katniss is an experienced hunter and gatherer so the money didn't need to go to food.
I remembered Peeta was sick in the cave and the feast included his medicine but forgot just how dire the situation was. Blood poisoning used in the medical sense for infection complications (apparently when bacteria from the infection get into the blood) threw me for a loop because the xenophobic usage was in the news December 2023 (with Trump channeling Hitler about immigrants). "Remember, we're madly in love, so you can kiss me whenever you want" even when he's half dead I saw two ways - that crush is severe, and/or he still has the sense to play up the star crossed lovers act.
I do feel drugging Peeta when he said not to is acceptable because he's clearly not in his right mind, physical illness analogue to involuntary committment for mental illness.
In the cave she dreams about being snug at home, that seems telling.
Katniss thinking about the truth of Peeta's first day of school story is some "real or not real" already, I wonder if SC deliberately planned it that way or later decided to reference the earlier concept. I figured Peeta meant it, maybe played it up, even if Katniss didn't reciprocate.
Her not wanting to sing because it reminded her too much of her dead father is how I think I reacted to baseball for awhile.
The movie emphasized the Rue mutt if I recall correctly; the book highlighted Glimmer and Foxface. I recalled Katniss putting Cato out of his misery with the mutts but forgot that dragged on all night.
I wasn't surprised there was some sort of new victor interview, but I had forgotten about the highlight reel and the platforms and the stage being modified for two.
With a new appreciation for Everlark, the ending was heartbreaking where Peeta is shocked at it being at least partially an act/strategy on Katniss' part, highlighting how real it was for him at least. The book ending before the homecoming was an interesting dramatic choice.

Well, now that Twitter is a shit scape, I'm here. I have a ton of stories and stuff that I'm gonna be posting over the next few days.
I'm genuinely so frustrated about having to start all over. Again.
These threads that I write on Twitter may not be as descriptive or as good as chapter books you find on AO3, but they are still my creation and my babies. I work really hard on them, even when they're incoherent and have a ton of grammatical errors. I'm just so genuinely frusted about starting over. It's going to take literal days to transfer everything over because of the restrictions.
Anyway, yes! My stories will be posted here!! So yay!

Little House in the Big Woods; Farmer Boy, by Laura Ingllas Wilder
So I read the series in reverse, but I figured it would be kind of hard to write about them that way if I group them together, so I'm going to write these in chronological order.
Big Woods as a story is very sweet. It really embodies the coziness that everyone talks about, really more so than any other book besides Farmer Boy.
Is all childhood memories. Ma making butter, and roasting pig's tail, Pa playing his fiddle and telling stories, holidays and celebrations with family.
Laura at the age of four and five is pretty carefree, as it should be.
It's odd, reading kids books when you're an adult, you get subtext that you probably wouldn't have gotten as a kid.
This happens more and more as the books go on, but in this one, I got something that I don't know was the intent or if I'm reading too much into it.
Big Woods starts out like a fairy tale, and it continues with that tone, and it makes me wonder if Wilder didn't, in some way, think back on that time as ideal because there really is a sense of safety as you follow Laura through the chores and games, and squabbles. The feel is carefree in a way that is mostly lost when the family goes west. I don't know how much kids will get when they read them, but I was always aware of the danger that the Ingallses faced. From Little House on the Prairie, forward, it is under the surface if not actively present. Big Woods, had the bear, but everything is very secure.
The ending is probably one of the most elegant pieces of writing that wasn't about nature, in the whole series.
"She thought to herself, 'This is now.' She was glad that the cozy house, and Pa and Ma and the firelight and the music, were now. They could not be forgotten, she thought, because now is now. It can never be a long time ago."
Farmer Boy, was written as a companion piece to Big Woods, according to Prarie Fires and the podcast. I cannot express how adorable I think that is.
This book follows a year in the life of nine year old Almanzo Wilder, near Malone, New York. It is even cozier than Big Woods. There are so many descriptions of food, I found myself getting hungry when reading it, and that usually doesn't happen to me. Big Woods, there was more to it, Almanzo is old enough to know something of his own mind, to get into scrapes and to interact with others more than Laura who was only five in the first book.
Plus, because the real Laura was working off of things told to her by her husband, a lot of the book is probably more fiction and has a clearer story arch, at least to me.
It was really interesting to me watching Almanzo learn the farming trade and all the various skills needed to go along with it, and just how much he enjoyed it. I think my favorite parts were when Almanzo was allowed to stay home from school and help out on the farm from threshing wheat, hauling timber, training young oxen, whatever, Almanzo was eager to learn.
Something that caught my attention near the end.
There's this point where a wagon maker in town asks Almanzo's father to apprentice Almanzo.
His father talks to his mother about it, and his mother is very upset, and goes on a rant about how if he did this, Almanzo would never be free, and would always be dependent on others for his living.
Now, there is this odd idea in the LH Fandom (community? It's huge, I don't know) that Laura and Almanzo's daughter Rose actually wrote the books. Honestly, and I will come back this in another ramble, if you read Pioneer Girl and you read Rose's writing, this is obviously not the case (IMO). But we do know, that Rose, was involved in editing her mother's books, and Laura did allow Rose to add things. Both mother and daughter's writing have the thread of being free and independent, but the tone is very different between the two.
This section feels like an addition made by Rose. She was a staunch Libritarian and her writing in its vein usually has a feel of righteous anger or frustration, telling the reader what's what.
Laura's shows the reader how one would do this, and is much quieter
This speech by Almanzo's mother is very out of character for the busy sweet natured woman in the rest of the book, and right after this tirade the tone goes back to normal. Almost as if it can be lifted out completely.
It was interesting to compare it to the rest of the book.
All in all, I enjoyed these two.

Are you still an active creator/I'm getting frusted not finding the exact scars I want for my Ocs and my simself. and I don't mod, and as a writer I like using sims for stories/when I have writer's block. You hickies and whip marks are a good start, maybe a version where the whips marks go all the way down the back? to be continued.

I'm active creator, I guess, but I'm not doing scars cc for now (not really interested and motivated). Maybe, in future I'll start to take commissions on my boosty page, but no promises. It's only one option to get such particular CC. You can still give me suggestions on my pinterest board, but only for something simple. About self-h**m, I don't plan to make them anymore for sure, tumblr doesn't like this topic.
