"I like the view right now!" you chanted as the salty wind ruffled your hair and caressed your skin.

Your eight friends started hooting in agreement, all understanding the reference to one of your favorite songs of theirs.

As a celebration of their highly successful last tour, you had all decided to book a trip to a private island off the coast of Australia. It took a boat ride to reach the secluded piece of land filled with villas and populated with a few staff members. It was a paradisiac hideaway for you all, so accustomed to being surrounded all the time.

You turned back with a gigantic smile. Felix, who was standing behind you, mirrored the expression on your face, a certain twinkle illuminating his gaze.

You jumped in his arms, startling him as he caught you rapidly. "And I love going to the beach!"

He spun you around, feet digging in the sand while you both screamed. The rest of the group looked at you with amused expressions. By now, they had become quite accustomed to your antics. You ended your frivolous spinning by plopping down on the sand, slightly out of breath. You stretched your arms as far as you could, relishing in the stunning warmth of the Australian sun, and turned to cuddle against Felix, his nose already nuzzling in your hair. "I'm so happy to be back home, Lix." "So am I," he answered with a soft smile, his eyes half-closed.

After a day well spent outside, swimming and exploring, you had collectively decided to set up a cozy little camp on the beach to enjoy the warm night under a sky full of stars.

"Are you done, you two? We need help setting up!" shouted Changbin.

"I'm coming, you whiny child!"

You faked irritation with rolled eyes, but ever since you walked off the plane, you couldn't stop your lips from tilting upwards. Your soul seemed to be shouting and dancing to the rhythm of your home. Nothing could you get you down from your little cloud of happiness, even a whiny Changbin. You got up to lend him a hand before he started throwing a tantrum, not noticing Felix's hand still subtly reaching for you.

The young Australian looked at the stunning view. You were right. Being home felt amazing. It was wonderful to have some vacations after being on tour, especially here with you.

You had been friends for as long as he could remember.

From meeting in kindergarten to facing high school's adventures to growing into two young adults. You never had any big fights, your friendship having prevailed over any argument and hardship. Even the distance hadn't been enough to pull you apart.

Felix remembers too well the fear he felt before telling you he wanted to become an idol all those years ago. He was so scared you would disapprove and hate him for wanting to go so far away. But your anger only came from the fact that he had never said a thing about it. He remembers fondly how you jumped on him, hugging him tight with tears lining your eyes. From that moment on, you had been his fiercest supporter. You cried buckets when he left for Korea but made him promise to keep in touch every day. So you video chatted whenever he could. You stayed up with him for entire nights, braving the time difference to give him pointers on choreo stuff or to cheer him up when he had a rough day.

Until you no longer had to do any of that.

Looking at you now, getting along so well with his brothers, made his heart tighten with emotion. At 23 years old, he had everything he ever wanted. Well, almost everything

Felix knew since he was 14 years old that he loved you. Part of him had hoped that once he was in Korea, his heart would finally stop beating only for you, but it never happened. He had dated a little, but no one had compared to you. With time, he became accustomed to the idea of never falling in love with anyone else.

It was a thought he accepted without so much difficulty. He couldn't help how his heart started speeding up whenever you were close to him. The reassuring feeling of having you by his side. The way your smile made him see stars. The way you cuddled into his side or held his hand, how your gaze lit up whenever you saw the sea, and how he was the one you reached for when you were sad, angry, or just disgustingly happy. He wanted to experience everything with you, every high and every low. He couldn't and didn't want to imagine himself doing life with anyone else. It would be this or nothing else, and he was comfortable with that.

After all these years, he had never found the courage to tell you. The fear of losing you paralyzed him. But as he looked at the joyful sea, breathed the fresh Australian air, and looked at you laughing and fighting fiercely against an uncooperative beach chair, he thought maybe this vacation was the time. The time to face his fears, as he did almost seven years ago to chase his dream, and see where it would lead him.

"Felix!" called Changbin, interrupting his train of thought. "Come and walk with us! We want to see how far the beach goes in that direction."

He lifted his head with a smile, looking at his friends waiting for him, bare feet in the sand.

"Hurry!" you waved. "We don't want to miss the sunset!"

It had been months since he had seen you so excited, so eager. He knew you loved coming with them on tour. But he also knew Australia would always own your heart.

"Alright, alright. I'm coming!"

He swatted the sand away from his shorts before walking to your little group.

You started walking on the beach, Felix close to you. Seungmin, I.N, Hyunjin, and Changbin ahead, busy taking pictures in front of the rose-colored sunset. Bang Chan and Lee Know were trying to start your little fire while Han prepared the perfect playlist. Suddenly, you recognized the familiar air of their song, 'The View'. You looked back to Han with a huge smile. He simply winked and gave you a thumbs-up before focusing on his phone once more.

The notes of the music danced around you, making the ambiance even more special. There was something in the air, a prickling, exciting feeling.

You swayed gently to the music as Felix snapped a few pictures. The two oldest near the fire, Han next to the speaker, the boys walking ahead, the sunset. He seemed to be on a mission to commit everything to memory.

You felt his focus shift and noticed he subtly tried taking pictures of you. You walked up to him with a soft smile.

"Are you taking pictures of me, sir?" "I might be," he smiled back, his dimples on display. "Well, I'm afraid you need permission for that…" you continued, taking a step closer.

Without giving him a second to interpret your movement, you stole his phone with a squeal of victory.

"Come back here!" He protested, but you ran as fast as you could to Changbin, giving him the phone. As you expected, he sprinted in the opposite direction while laughing like a dolphin.

"You think you're funny or something?" asked a slightly out of breath Felix as he reached you.

"In fact, I do."

You splashed him and ran off while giggling like a maniac. As hoped, your antics started a generalized water war. Felix kept running after you, deciding he needed to get vengeance while the other boys splashed each other. You laughed wildly and ran in the shallow waters, not daring to look back and give him a chance to reach you.

You had water up to your knees by the time you heard him whine, "Wait! Y/n! You're gonna get all wet."

You turned around with a taunting look in your eyes. "Felix Lee, has the idol lifestyle gotten to you?" You gave him a pitying look. "Have you forgotten all about your Australian roots? Are you scared of a little water?"

A little taunting was usually all it took for you to rile up your best friend, and tonight would be no different. His eyes scrunched with determination, "Oh, you just wait till I get my hands on you." He tried threatening you, but you didn't give him a chance as you dove into the clear water.

Without a second thought, he jumped in after you, fully clothed. He barely broke the surface when you jumped on him from behind and tried to push him back underwater. He managed to take ahold of your wrists, careful not to clamp too hard. You took a deep breath, ready to be ducked under, but he softly made you twirl in the water. You gave him a surprised look as he winked and let you go benevolently.

Complete elation seized you as the beautiful young man looked at you with that smile of his, hair slicked back from the water, a light illuminating his soft eyes.

"I love Australia! I love the beach! I love being in the water! I love this night!!!" you screamed as you threw your arms in the air.

The other boys looked in your direction with giant smiles, drenched in water. The ever-present professional idol aura in their demeanor was nowhere in sight. They shone with pure happiness. For once, they could be only themselves, away from cameras and personas. Your heart sang with happiness for them.

"I love being home!" screamed Chan. "I love Australian BBQ!" added Changbin. "I love vacations!" said I.N "I love to splash Grandpa Chan!" joked Seungmin. "I love sunsets!" screamed Hyunjin. "I love water wars!" laughed Han. "I love cats!" finished Lee Know.

All eyes turned to Felix, the only one who hadn't said anything yet. His soft gaze set on you, the intensity taking the breath away from your lungs. He rallied his breath and screamed. "I LOVE YOU!"

The boys all went silent. You stared at him in disbelief.

"I love you. I love you so much. I always have, and I always will. Since we were kids, no one has ever meant the same to me. I love being here with you. I love being anywhere around the world with you. I love seeing you smile. I love the way you're so passionate. I- I don't want anyone else." It occurred to Felix that this was maybe not the right way to do this, as he noticed the silence surrounding him, but he kept going. "I know this is probably so out of pocket for you. You probably don't believe this is real, but I assure you it is. Since I was 14, I've been thinking of the right way to say this to you. I never thought it would happen like this but it feels right. So right, to finally tell you while you're at the place you love most and where I can see you shine brighter than ever."

You stared at him before a smile tugged at your lips, and you suddenly screamed. "I LOVE YOU!" He stood there with his arms limp at his side. Your words shocked him, and his mouth opened before he asked, "You love me?"

The light of disbelief shining in his eyes made your heart tighten. "Of course, I love you Lix. Honestly, I'm not sure how you didn't notice it," you added with a sheepish smile.

He took a step towards you, "You love me?" "Yes." Another. "You're sure?" you nodded with a bright smile. He was right in front of you, his arms a millimeter from wrapping around your body. "You love, love me?"

"OF COURSE I LOVE LOVE YOU. ALWAYS HAVE AND ALWAYS WILL." You leaped in his arms, water splashing around.

"SHE LOVES HIM!" Screamed the seven other boys in unison.

You smiled as you put your lips on his, barely registering the ruckus of your friends running for the two of you, throwing water around to celebrate the long-awaited moment you two idiots would realize you had been pinning for each other for years.

ALEJANDRO X ARGENTINEAN! READER ON PERIOD HEADCANONS

It’s actually so much fun having a partner that shared similar cultures to you.

You had someone to randomly switch from English to Spanish with, someone whom your parents absolutely adored, someone you could relate to.

When that week of the month comes for your uterus lining to splatter down, you’re understandably not in the greatest mood and Alejandro could tell.

“Hijo de puta...” Your cries get coughed up, onto Alejandro’s grey jeans,“Why does this have to hurt so muuuch? I can’t function properly! I can’t fuuuunction!”

“Poor niña.” Alejandro sympathises, patting your head that slammed on his lap like a pillow,“Would you give me the honour of cooking you a delicacy to cheer you up? Perhaps asado?”

“A barbecue today...?” you stir around to see his flawless face with your puffy eyes,“I...I don’t think we have any meat...”

“No problem. I’ll simply go to the Latin market. Perhaps you’d like to assist me? Please don’t feel obliged to, if you prefer to stay here.” His voice was too handsome.

A part of you wanted to stay inside because you weren’t motivated to go outside when you felt like a hideous pig and your tummy feeling that someone was savagely putting a chainsaw through and through over and over.

On the other hand, you didn’t want to be alone, and someone needed to drive the girls away.

So you stand up, flinching at the sudden leak warming between your legs and nod,”Vamos.”

I can see Alejandro always using the formal “usted” to refer to you for some reason.

Example, when you do get to the Latin Market, you head immediately to the sweets aisle where Alejandro had to chase you from the meat section.

“¿Usted tiene una paladar dulce?” (Do you have a sweet tooth?) he grinned after seeing you claw in your cravings for chocolate, sweets.

It never pissed you off so much until today,“Alejandroooo, can you stop being so formal for once? We’ve known each other long enough.”

He puts a hand to his chest. Here we go,“But I fear there is a difference between the time of knowing someone to how you know someone. You’ve known someone like Heather for a long time, but would you say you’re in a close-“

Nope nope nope nope nope,“Point made.” you then realise something,“...Are you basically saying how you view me is how I view Heather?”

“Mi amor, ¡claro que no!” Alejandro’s light emerald eyes bolted like a second,“That was just to distinguish the difference. All I’m saying is that I personally haven’t felt that I have earned the right to refer to you to something so intimate.”

You scoff. Periods really do make you feel weird,“Oh, get real, Alejandro. It’s just an excuse, I don’t care. You probably say that to any other chick whenever I’m not around.”

His dumbfounded brain could only thrive more through his tongue,“My dear, you don’t think of me as that shameless, I hope not! It would be against nature to even make attempt to displace your rightful place en mi corazón.“ he then takes a proper look at your specific choice of sweets in its yellow wrapping,“Havanna alfajores? What extravagant taste. ¿Quieres que te lo compre?”(Do you want me to buy it for you?)

Now see, that pissed you off even more. Because why did you need to tell him that it’s only logical to use the informal “you” for him to start using it?

Oh you don’t have the energy to properly confront him,“I’ll only let you buy these for me if you drop the usted. I’m sick of it. So sick of it.”

“It’s a deal.” he smirked, adding a bottle of Malbec to the basket.

As soon as he bought everything, you rip open a packet of Havanna alfajores and shove it whole in your mouth. Already you felt so much better. So much better, you could cry again. Alejandro laughs sweetly.

“Don’t you want one?” you ask him.

He shakes his head,“Please, they are your sweets. They’re for you. You deserve them for remaining strong in something only as I as a man can treat with dignity.”

Okay, that one got your face feeling as intense as your cramps,“...As long as you’re happy too.”

Of course those bloodsucking slices had to stick deeper just as soon as you expressed some solicitude to another human being.

“Ohh Alejandro... “ you moan, crunching the wrapping in your first, you rocked your head against him,“I wanna go home now. Now. Get me out here, please...”

“Your word is my command.” he transfers the plastic bags to one hand,“Would you prefer I carry you?”

Through a fit of moans and swirling discomfort, you did have the barbecue and played all kinds of Latin music to the grilling and steaming. You would have had a dance if your uterus wasn’t chewing you alive in sync.

You almost cried, but Alejandro soothed you. Let yourself rest, mi amor! It is nothing to see the sorrow in your eyes like that!

You were still pissed at yourself for having this bodily whatever, but you had to concur, that you’d have the rest of the other days of the month to get up and dance.

As true love suggests.

favorite thing about them: I love how much PIZZAZ he adds to the early game! How can I not like a character with such a flamboyant, demanding personality whose very presence is enough to make everyone react with shock, contempt, laughter, and awe? Navarre is an ass, but a necessary ass to carry the early narrative and add so much excitement to it. I cannot help but giggle to myself everytime he appears. AND THEN, all that character growth in IVA towards becoming a better, more self-aware ghostie. Ohhh I love he so muuuch~

least favorite thing about them: Definitely the unnecessary perversion in IVA. Enough said.

favorite line: The "dawdling Casualries" line will always hold a special place in my heart, but I am also really fond of the stuff he says when you speak with him during the training drills in one of the rest spots,

"O-Oh, it's you… I thought you to be a demon. Don't start me so… I've never carried a blade any heavier than a knife before. If Mother were to see me dashing about with such a weapon in hand, I think that she would faint…"

And

"I landed a critical blow when I accidentally tripped… The next quest was much simpler, since as you might expect, money is no object to me. 'Twas actually easier than the first. But the final challenge all depends on one's strength, and that's a field I'm particularly lacking in… S-Someone else may have first place, I care not whom. Merely let this debacle of a training exercise be done with!"

brOTP: Nanashi and Navarre are best BROS!

Bad edit aside, can't forget the actual bros, Navarre and Gaston lmao. I really enjoyed their sibling relationship and it opened up so much insight into their familial life and personal struggles. I'm so so happy they got to rekindle at the enddd, it was so sweet

OTP: Everyone knows that I am the sole resident of the Issachar x Navarre Crack Ship Kingdom!! Idgaf that they've never canonically met nor even know of each other's existence, the POTENTIAL between them is enough to keep me content and well fed! We support random rarepairs in this house!

I also really like Flynn x Navarre too and they're my second fave Navarre ship, for much the same reasons!

nOTP: Needless to say, my NOtps would be pairing Navarre with his brother or any of the IVA kids. Eeeugh. Enough said.

random headcanon: It's something I've been wanting to analyze in more depth, and IDK how much of this is actually canon or headcanon considering, but I very much fancy the idea of Navarre always having close connections with the Samurai seniors and keeping close tabs on the Rite and new inductions. He's very astute with the going-ons in Samurai business and likely has been anxiously watching them for quite some time.

unpopular opinion: I understand that Navarre is a very unlikeable character, and he's supposed to be! But it honestly does get really bothersome seeing how much dismissal, if not outright hate, he gets in the fandom. Navarre IS an important character within the early game! It is his very antics that adds the necessary tension and tone needed to carry the early narrative and worldbuilding. It does admittedly make it hard for me to approach other SMTIV fans because I like this bean so much.

But that is okay. I am perfectly content with those who seek out, stick by, and enjoy my bean musings. :)

Yes!! They are open again!! I am so sorry you're having a rough time with your exams, lovely, I completely understand! This semester ROYALLY kicked my behind- that is for certain. And how could I ever pass up on doing a modern Fili?? I would never! I hope you enjoy this and I hope you get some muuuch needed rest and TLC for your exams 💚

You have been in here all day. The only light was coming from your small lamp and your laptop with your brightness up to maximum, your notes sprawled around on the desk and some had even fallen to the floor in the midst of you grabbing new pages of your notes from your binder to make flash cards of.

Your bedroom wasn’t a fun place to be in right now, but you had an exam to study for, so to you, it didn’t matter.

Failing to notice your phone repeatedly buzzing on the bed as it charged, you pushed your office chair back from the desk to stretch, your back giving a satisfying pop that made you practically melt back into the black material. Taking a moment to bend over to grab the pages that fell out of your book, you huffed as you realized your notes were now out of order.

Tears began to steam into your lash line as you tried to recall which date each was taken, since the main page that they were with was missing, making you frown. Nothing was going right, you were exhausted, you just wanted to curl up in a ball and-

“(Y/n)?” The sound of your name from Fili’s lips was accompanied by a gentle rapping of his knuckles against the wooden door of your dorm. Blinking away the tears, you looked to the door. Who could be visiting you at this hour?

“Fili?” You called back, confused. Putting your notes in a stack on the desk, you walked towards the door, opening it with a furrowed brow as Fili stood before you with a concerned look.

“You weren’t answering any of my texts, and I know you were studying but I wanted to check on you and-”

“And make sure I ate dinner?” You finished his sentence, looking from his face to the bag of takeout in his arms.

“That too,” He grinned, “When I told Uncle and Bilbo that I was coming to visit you and bring you dinner, Bilbo nearly had a fit when he realized you probably weren’t eating much and insisted that I not only get takeout, but that I bring you these.” Fili reached into the bag and pulled out a small bag full of brownies.

“He made them last night,” Fili explained before setting them back in the bag.

“Oh Fi…” Fili looked up from the bag to see tears now streaming down your face.

“(Y/n), hey, hey,” He maneuvered you two into the room and shut the door behind him. Setting the bag of takeout on your counter, he pulled you into his arms as you began to cry into his chest.

“Sweetheart, breathe for me,” Fili carefully instructed, a small smile forming on his face as he felt you nod against him, forcing yourself to take deep breaths.

“That’s it, lovely,” He cooed, brushing his fingers through your hair to help soothe you as you began to relax once more.

Your dorm room was decorated with posters of your favorite artists, a small little ‘memory’ wall full of images of friends and family, notes from loved ones when you first moved out to study law.

“Let’s sit, hm?” He pulled you to the ground with him, his body encasing you in his embrace still as you sat in between his legs.

For a moment, everything was quiet as he rubbed your back and you rested against his chest, focusing on the sound of his heartbeat.

“I’m sorry,” You spoke after a while, cringing at the hoarseness of your voice. “I didn’t mean to break down on you like that–”

“Hey, hey, no, no, no no no,” Fili interrupted with a gentle tone, lifting your head to look you in the eyes. Both of his hands cradled your face as looked at you with an indescribable expression.

“Please don’t apologize to me,” He began, rubbing your cheeks with his thumbs. “You’re going through a lot right now, and even if you were just having an odd day where you felt like you needed to cry then please cry, please let out that emotion, don’t bottle them up.”

“I knew law school would be hard, especially the exams but I didn’t expect it to be this hard,” You felt like sobbing again as you shut your eyes.

Fili leaned in and pressed his forehead against yours, before briefly giving you a kiss and letting you curl back into him, your head tucked into his neck.

“You’re exhausted, love,” He looked around your room, noticing the ripped up flash cards and trash bin overflowing with energy drinks and empty pens.

“And when you’re exhausted and focusing on a goal, it’s difficult to take care of yourself,” Fili murmured, mostly to himself as he gave you a gentle squeeze.

“It is,” You replied, knowing that every time you shut your eyes you saw flashes of your notes that were practically imprinted on your brain from how long you’ve been staring at them.

“So, let me take care of you, hm?” Fili began rubbing his hand up and down the length of your spine. “Like how a good boyfriend does. Can you do that for me, sweetheart? Can you let me take care of you?”

Nodding, you felt a smile grace your lips as you felt a grin form on his face before he peppered kisses on your head.

“Now c’mon, let’s do dessert first,” He reached out, grabbing the bag of takeout to pull out one of Bilbo’s decadent fudge brownies.

Exams and worries for your future may overwhelm you and make you feel like you’re drowning, but with Fili by your side you know it’ll all be okay.

and aiya advice for fic writers huh. i dont know if my advice is worth much if anything at all but from the top of my head here are some things ive picked up over the years that will hopefully serve someone somewhere

presentation actually matters!!!! a properly formatted fic is not only delicious to read but also helps with keeping you in the story, i know this because i am a bad formatter (so sorry) and whenever i go through my fics and see a mistake i'm immediately taken out of it! just make sure it's easy to read and you have formatted it to the best of your abilities

brevity is the soul of wit. unfortunately. this is by no means i'm advocating for only short sentences (we all love tangents!) but i think it is good to vary on sentence length and save your longer lines for things that are important to note down! this image has been going around for years now but i still think its one of the most helpful pieces of writing advice ive ever seen

side characters are your best friends!!!!! i think as fanfic writers sometimes we want to get to the point and focus only on our mains, but it does add a lot of flavor and texture when you have small storylines happening along with your main plot, especially if you're doing an in-depth character study. life exists even when we're not seeing it!!!! give your side characters interesting stories and relationships!!!!

writing is about FUN and your questions regarding your storyline should never be "what is the most logical thing that could happen now?" but "what is the most interesting thing that could happen now?". this is a sin aftg fans commit the most when talking about aftg but i am here to tell you that no plot is too ambitious. nothing is so out there that you can't write about it! no concept is too wacky! interesting should come first; you worry about the logic in later edits. most readers are more willing to forgive an interesting plot with technical problems than they are willing to forgive a boring story that is perfect writing-wise

'I'll get fat from eating your black hearts' is honestly not just my favorite Eggman quote, but my favorite villain quote of all time (as well as the quotes that follow after that one that would normally be out of character for a quirky Sonic game like Lost World).

I don't know why that quote's been on my mind lately, but it literally sends chills down my spine. Eggman deserves more moments like that imo

Lost World Eggman is fantastic as a whole, he's beautifully characterized, the most entertaining and well written in the game and steals the show, gave us so many interesting moments and smaller clever details that say a lot about him and capture his feelings and behaviors brilliantly, and I find it one of the most fun to delve into and analyze. It has a special place in my heart 💜

And of course that's one of my favorite scenes ever. I think about it all the time, it brings me as much joy and excitement today as the first day I saw it. I love how he stood up to the D6 fiercely even after they'd taken control of everything he owns, then gave a perfect example of how he's not weak without his creations as he used nothing but his fists to break down that ice wall! 🥰

But while his display of strength is godly to watch, the dialogue itself doesn't get enough focus and appreciation in comparison. They're absolutely epic lines, especially from a game like Lost World. The sudden shift in tone with such raw dark lines from him gives it all the more impact. It's really hard for me to pick favorites but it's definitely up there as some of his absolute best.

This is such a hardcore comeback, they try insulting him for being fat and he just steps the fuck up and hits back a hundred times harder like "oh yeah? I'll get fat from eating your hearts!" I also love the grabbing of his belly for emphasis as he's not ashamed and owns it. Also I'd like to see him do just that hehe. 💜 Calling them wannabes because they wish they had his power but use his creations is great. That's how he feels about all villains that dare to try to take his place!

Threatening to burn their world, destroy everything they love, and make them watch are some of his darkest and cruelest lines too and it makes me go crazy. I'm OBSESSED with the concept of him doing something deeply evil and abhorrent and devastatingly destructive and forcing people to witness and acknowledge his power and the true messed up shit he's capable of... 🥴 so I appreciate this a lot. They're not empty threats, he could and would do it happily.

And of course him threatening physical violence people especially after his thrilling display of strength gets me weak 😳💘💕

This is all the kind of stuff I always dream of with him. 😍 I only wish that we could've seen him go through with it but it's fantastic just hearing him threaten it too and how his anger came out in his strength at him take his anger out on and throwing punches at the thing closest to him. The D6 are lucky they weren't actually there because he totally would've done it and enjoyed it and strangled some Zeti after.

And Mike Pollock's delivery makes it all even better as some of his best line reads which is saying a lot. This scene gives me chills every time without fail too. It makes me sad when people entirely dismiss everything about Lost World and say it's forgettable when we got one of the most legendary Eggman scenes. He deserves to be gloriously evil and threatening like this as often as possible because I love it so muuuch it's peak Eggman truly 💘💖💕💗💜

do you think lanselot is good at manipulating people? it seems like a lot of his schemes blow up in his face because he's expecting 100% perfect obedience, and doesn't plan around that. i'm thinking of the scenes with brantyn and andoras

I think he’s certainly proficient! Lanselot seems very good at keeping his cool and using every tool and means at his disposal. And it seems like it got him very far in Lodis, and it got him pretty far when it comes to Valeria as well, at least for a time.

Obviously he does it best with Catiua. I imagine a lot of people would be inclined to say it’s because she’s an easy target as she’s not the most stable person but Catiua violently rejects everyone else’s attempt at using her (even the ones she misinterprets) so it can’t be this easy. He has a peculiar way to go about it though. He is rather transparent about what he wants out of her (just with a sprinkle of feeding into her insecurities).

But I also believe he thinks himself muuuch better than he actually is. Imo Lanselot’s biggest flaw (that isn’t a moral failing) is he continuously underestimates people and considers them below him. The game is consistent in showing exactly this and it’s often the reason he fails. I love that about him though, he’d be less interesting if he were some mastermind who could only get bested. But Lanselot’s shortcomings and flaws feel very human.

And it’s like this since the first time we see him. One of the first things he does is underestimate Denam (/Catiua/Vyce) based on their age and I love that he’s forced to aknowledge his error eventually :^)

You’re very right about Brantyn. He thinks so little of him and completely underestimates him. He really believed himself in control to the end and we all know how that turned out. My favourite thing about their dynamic is how Brantyn tries to have him assassinated in Chaos route and while Lanselot is completely aware of it, he does nothing about it. He simply doesn’t consider Brantyn enough of a threat that he needs to deal with him at the time. That’s how little he thinks of him.

It’s the same with Andoras, he misunderstands his motives and he underestimates his resentment and/or his ability to scheme against Lodis. And it costs him Barnicia, and Catiua. Not that he would ever aknowledge that.

He also understimates Barbas and thinks him too much of a brute to get the better of him. His humiliation in Heim is so in line with everything he’s shown throughout the game

So I think he’s a realistic depiction of someone who is good at manipulating others. But he would be so much better at it if he weren’t so arrogant and disdainful and maybe considered people to be capable of greatness.

i know that this is a sensitive topic for a lot of people but i know that jon and wendy are first responders so during covid how would the rest of the gang manage their worry for them

It doesn't make me uncomfortable nonny, don't worry.

I think my answer may be a bit anticlimatic, let's see. In the height of covid, neither Jon nor Wendy were *super* involved with the front lines. Remember they've just become really hands on in the hospital for the past year, before that they'd still be called on, but to a much lesser amount, a little more during covid thanks to the strenuous circumstance.

Another thing, at the time Wendy was in Penn still and her ties with her family were much closer. They tried to pull her out of uni and bring her home, tried to strongarm her into taking a break from school and working at her mom's clinic(s) that you bet your ass were doing everything under the sun to explore loopholes: at home services, online services, you name it, they tried to milk it. For once in her life her father was on her side, being an anaestheologist, so Wendy stayed in school and working at their student hospital. She was less a front liner than Jonah, because her uni wasn't as medically dedicated. Wendy's biggest struggles were dealing with her family and with the *massive* amount of misinformation then. Bigots were sprouting everywhere, thanks to the inconvenience of staying at home really making people loud and dumb, so Wendy definitely burned herself out arguing with people and trying to keep her loved ones safe.

Jonah, in the other hand, was muuuch more of a front liner. Again, while he wasn't as active as he is now, he got called up like the other students to help. He helped with a fuckton of the vaccination (which for sure lead to a bunch of fights, bc Jon is not one to shut up when he sees people saying dumb stuff, much less antivax propaganda) and in some cases he even got called up to help with the intensive care units, because they simply didn't have enough arms.

Jonah was emotionally and physically drained, it was a hard time, considering how involved he gets with all his patients. He's a doctor *first*, before all else. He did catch covid btw, towards the time legislations started to ease up, once his immune system crashed.

Observation: you didn't ask, but I'll include him anyway, Luke is VERY involved with charities and non-governmental organizations, so he was running all type of events and online fundraisers and what not. He also has medical trauma, as we all know, so he was crawling up the walls and checked up on Jon every day even if Jonah and Luke will never own up to it. Lucas didn't catch covid at all, but he worried himself sick over his loved ones getting it.
