One of the kids I work with (I teach kids theater classes) asked me if I’m too old to know what ‘memes’ are. After saying that I do, in fact, know what memes are, she asked if I’ve ever heard the term ‘slay’. She emphasized that it’s OK if I don’t know that one, as it’s quite new and definitely ‘past my time’
I think it’s time i go to a retirement home.

just remembered when I was a teenage babysitter and the children I watched were DESPERATE to play pokemon on my handhelds, because they did not have pokemon at home or something I guess. so I handed it off to the little girl I was in charge of and allowed her to level grind my team, with the instruction to "run around in the grass" and do battles and ask me before catching anything. she appeared to take this duty extremely seriously. she had apparently taken my instructions so seriously and literally that when I came back she was playing pokemon while running in circles on the front lawn

Ok anytime a child character begins crying (specifically in animated media), I want to begin crying with them because they’re literally always the sweetest characters and I wished I could come through the screen and comfort them.

i'm so fortunate that my siblings are ppl i get along with so well. we just have such a good time when we see each other. like we used to scrap when we were younger tbh the last time i got into a physical altercation with my brother i was all of 19 years old!!! it was over the remote control and i was FURIOUS lmao. but he's such a sweet, gentle man now. a real darling. i love to see him w his wife n son they are the sweetest little family. my nephew looks like me but he also looks like both of his parents it's crazy!!!
and tbh i adore my sister!!!! she's not bubbly but she's very conscientious and she's so fun and silly and i love her. she's real. she's not going to be fake w u!!!! it's honestly a shock a crime and a shame that not everyone values a person who will just b straight w u, but idk i guess not everyone is self assured enough to cope w honesty.
and they love me too!! they think i'm great. it's a really good feeling. tertia called me her mom once i about died. my brother claims i saved his life when we were children i did not see the incident that way but i'm not about to split hairs over something like that. i just. adore them. 2 of my favorite ppl in the world. i LOVE my brother's wife too i'm so glad she joined our family. and i don't know my sister's bf that well yet, but i like him a lot.
my feelings towards my parents are VERY complicated, but i love my siblings wholeheartedly unreservedly adore them.

"mom. want coffee."

i think the best thing to come out of the internet is little girls who hyperfixate on gay pride and labels and thus become these little borderline-aggressively-pro-homo little girls who will not only defend lesbians and queer people and trans people at the drop of the hat but also support us just so forwardly that it's so off-putting to straight people. i love these little girls who squash any kind of internalized homophobia years before they know consciously that they too are apart of the demographic that they have loved so hard for so long. especially in a culture where it's Frowned Upon for girls to be passionate about anything. Good God they are the best of us.

Angel Please?
Tumblr media
Nia Menalcan x Satis Pulchra ft. Baby Imani
Word count ↪ 370 wds
Author’s note ↪ This is now my first time writing and imagine/drabble (so don't mind the mistakes). All of the characters in the story are Oc’s and I own them. If you don't like it you can respectfully go away and read something else that u do like, thank you. Anyway, enjoy :)
TW ↪ Pet names (My love, Handsome, Sweetheart and Baby), Imani is 2 years old so she talks like a 2 year old (If u don’t like it go to hell), They call Imani angel (<3), Over all just a lot of fluff and cuteness.
Summary ↪ Imani wants to stay up and watch paw patrol but she needs to go to bed for daycare tomorrow. How will her parents make her go to sleep?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here we have a beautiful family, watching Paw patrol with they're 2 year old daughter that somehow roped them into watching it past her bedtime.
“Mama, papa pees,” Imani whined
“No angel, you have to go to daycare tomorrow.” Nia said, annoyed.
Imani started to whine. Almost crying, begging her parents to let her stay up a little after her bedtime to continue watching her show.
“Angel, please don’t cry,” Satis begged.
Imani started to whine even louder than before. Obviously saying that didn’t work.
Nia and Satis were convinced that they were going to need a crucifix soon.
Suddenly an idea popped in Satis’s head.
“Okay, what about this angel? If you have some time before daycare tomorrow, you can watch paw patrol. How does that sound?” Satis suggested.
Imani’s whining calms down, Gasping for air and yawning. A moment later she answers with a meek
“Okay papa.”
Nia and Satis smiled in victory, finally accomplishing their mission.
Satis took Imani from Nia’s arms and started walking upstairs with Nia trailing behind him.
They went to Imani’s room and laid her on her bed and tucked her in.
“Good night angel.” Nia and Satis said, taking turns kissing her head.
“Night mama and papa.” She said snuggling her stuffed bunny.
Nia and Satis slowly walk out of her room and close the door leaving a crack.
“Well my love, are you ready to go to bed?” Satis asks, taking her hand in his and bringing it up to his mouth, kissing it.
“I sure am handsome,” she answered with a tired grin.
Satis picked up Nia under her thighs and wrapped her leg around his waist and started walking towards their bedroom.
Once they reached their bedroom, he opened the door with one of his arms. He walked towards the bed, he then laid her on the bed and laid his head on her chest.
She started to run her finger through his hair softly.
“G’night sweetheart.” Satis said, slowly drifting off.
“G’night baby.” Nia answered, kissing his forehead softly.
Tomorrow is going to be a long day.

Okay I know we’re all thinking it but I’ll say it. Helen in the Emily Wilson translation of the Odyssey has big Spiral vibes.

guys I had this realization the other day that Redwall works really well for reading aloud, and kinda half-remembered something about the author reading to kids? So I looked it up to see if I had made a connection.
And it turns out, yes, actually, because he read aloud to kids at a school for the blind. But all the books they gave him to read were depressing. So he wrote Redwall, a story about heroism and courage and making it through struggles, and filled it with so many sensory, visual details so he could give them something better and I just-- that's so wholesome-- help
