No more Jameson neutrality, if you write/draw Jameson as a naïve cutesy helpless baby-of-the-family that communicates through ~slides~ or ~telepathy~ or ~mind projections~ I hate you personally and you are actively contributing to ableism and misinformation about nonspeaking & mute people in this fanbase. Accidental Reunion (Reupload)
Slightly more humorous, Fox has a bit of a weird guest on stream.
Minors and Ageless blogs do not interact, you will be blocked
Contains: Torture, Breast-specific torture, Canon typical violence, cult/religious themes.
The Fox was no stranger to weirder victims. Really he had to do next to zero work to get captives for his streams. It just so happened that sometimes he’d see someone out of his stock for an upcoming auction, and he’d decide they’d be better off in his care. For however many shows they lasted. He remembered the one who had been withdrawing off of their schizophrenia medication, he had kept them around for a few shows just due to how entertaining it was to play with and abuse their mental state.
Sometimes though, he had to do a bit of digging, because someone in Chat would ask for something specific. Usually one who donated a lot, which usually meant a lot more would come if he catered to their tastes. This time though, someone who was a little newer, perhaps a bit younger, had a request.
“Big Titty Goth GF PLSSSSS” They had spammed, each time they requested they had donated more. He half wondered what kind of brat had accessed daddy’s credit card. But, well, he aimed to please.
This girl was what he had managed to find, and he had made sure to get her some outfits to match the Goth Aesthetic too. Fishnet, little bat nipple rings, skull pattern on the underwear. Not his usual choices, but they’d do.
Besides having those fat tits that had been begged for, she also had a soft belly, and thick thighs, which pushed and almost bubbled up over the fishnet. And across her skin… strange tattoos he had no idea could mean. A strange circle with foreign letters, what looked like an almost tear drop shape, plus so many others.
He had stopped staring at her long ago, as he began to set up for the show. But he could tell her eyes never left him. She had been silent, not asking any questions, just staring. He hoped she wouldn’t be like this the entire time, that would be boring…
With a few quick clicks, a little icon on his screen told him he was live, and he quickly stood up straight as his lovely fans came pouring in.
“Good Evening, everyone! As you may recall, on our last stream, our generous patron H0110W kept requesting a specific kind of victim.” He stood to the side, letting the woman focus into view for the camera. The chat lit up immediately.
M3L0NB4115: MOMMY MILKERS.
H0110W: holy shit, perfect! Here’s a little something to start us off!
N3K0_M: You should cut her eyes out, if she keeps glaring daggers like that. Teach her a lesson, daddy <3
Woundfucker88: Ugh, wasn’t that other one banned?
Fox’s ear gave a flick as a donation pinged in. Ten Thousand dollars. A nice start indeed. Whoever this viewer was, they certainly had money. He gave a bark of laughter at Woundfucker’s annoyance.
“Well, I’m glad you like her. I hope you’ll enjoy watching her bleed just as much. Also, yes, Melon is back, I turned off text to speech donations so I figured she’d be harmless now.”
He gave a wink, hearing the woman’s breath hitch behind him. He ignored it though, not sparing her a glance as he glanced towards his wall full of tools.
“Now, let me know what you all want to see first! Remember, we want to make her last, so nothing lethal…. Yet.”  He watched as the requests poured in, most paired with a nice donation.
Woundfucker88: Fair enough, it is your show. Why not carve something into those tits?
Diamond: Why stop at carving? Just lop them off.
N3K0_M: That goes too fast! I wanna see the ice pick used again, give her some more piercings!”
M3L0NB4115: Skewer them together, like shishkabob.
That one piqued his interest, and his ear flicked a little.
“Oh? Yes I haven’t done that in a while… Nice collaborating, everyone…” he mused, walking off camera to grab the ice pick.
“Chat thinks you need some more piercings…” he smiled cruelly under the mask as he waved the thin, deadly weapon in front of her.
“... You’ll regret this.” Was all she said, holding his gaze. Fox was no stranger to threats, but something about this one made his spine tingle. He narrowed his eyes, and slammed the pick into her left thigh, managing to draw out a sharp squeal.
“No, I don’t think I will.” He affirmed, twisting the metal through her flesh, her scream turning into a cough as she grit her teeth, glaring at him. And then she began speaking again. No pleas, no insults, nothing…. In english even.
Instead, it was a slow chant in a foreign language, steady as the river of blood pouring down her leg. Fox stood straight, wrenching the ice pick out of her skin as he did. She halted her speech for a moment to hiss in pain, before she continued.
He glanced back towards chat, wondering their reaction.
N3K0_M: LOL She iz trying 2 Summon A DEMON!
H0110W: She had a nice scream when you first stabbed her! Now move onto the skewering! And afterwards, maybe a little blowtorch action on them ;)
M3L0NB4115:  I think I recognize that language. Or what she’s saying. It reminds me of St*****-
“Melon, you have been warned about that name, it’s blocked for a reason. Mention it again and you’ll be permanently muted.” Fox said, before crouching down. That one really annoyed him. But back to business. This was H0110W’s request, so he may as well follow suit with what they wanted.
And indeed, he was able to get more screams out of her as he plunged the icepick sideways through her chest, making her writhe and yell as he pierced her breasts together, leaning forward and twisting one of her nipples between his claws for good measure.
For hours, the requests continued in, and between her screams, she kept chanting in that same language, though her voice grew more hoarse as time went on. And she seemed to grow more panicked the longer she chanted.
N3ko_M:“Make her eat part of her tits. You cooked it just for her.”
H0110W:“Use the pliers and pull those nails off.”
Woundfucker88: “Do you have any liquid nitrogen left from last time? Pour some of it onto her legs.”
M3L0NB4115: “Knife time! Keep it classic! I wanna see a heart!”
Diamond: “Fuck the hole in her leg, make it bigger.”
Adrenaline coursed through him as he continued his work, loving all the different screams he managed to squeeze out of her. But, she was starting to bore Chat quite quickly.
N3K0_M: Can you get her to shut up? I’m sick of hearing her stupid voice.
H0110W: She’s talked enough, cut her tongue out. Let her choke to death on her own blood for the finale.
M3L0NB4115: No, Don’t kill her. If you kill her it will be complete, St**** will come-
“M3L0NB4115’s has been muted indefinitely for saying banned content. Thank you for using the AutoMod Bot!”
“Your wish is my command, H0110W.” Fox said, procuring his reliable knife. She was talking even faster now, mumbling that strange language before he pried her mouth open. Her eyes were wide, makeup, tears and blood streaked down her face. He leaned forward to lick them up, humming over the combined taste of powdery eyeshadow, salty tears and rusty blood.
Without much more fanfare, he dug the knife into her mouth. It was admittedly a bit harder than he thought it would be. Her tongue was a moving target. He was forced to saw at it, cutting into all other parts of her mouth, as she screamed. While her words were still decipherable, she was screaming her same chant.
And finally, she was silent, except for gurgles and moans, and then choking coughs as her mouth filled with her own blood. Her eyes were trained on him, as steady as she could keep them, as he pulled her tongue out of her mangled mouth.
“There we go!” He said triumphantly, holding it up like a trophy for the camera. In the background he could hear her gurgling, and slumping in her chains. It wouldn’t be long now until she was gone. He watched as final donations pinged in, giving her a lovely little song to die too.
He turned back to look at her again, her eyes now unfocused, her mouth moving wordlessly. Bubbles of blood were coming up from her throat,  drenching her front and dying her skin…. Green?
Fox stood still, keeping an eye on her for a bit longer. Just as he had seen it, it had faded. It must be a trick of the light, he’d been in here for too long with only the screens to illuminate the room. Without another thought on it, he turned back to the Camera, raising his arms.
“Another lovely show, wouldn’t you all agree? As always, I am so grateful for your donations and…” his voice faded and he perked up a little, giving the air a small sniff. Sulfur? He watched Chat suddenly light up.
It was moving too fast for him to read individual messages. But there was a lot of “what the hell?’s” going on.
Diamond: What the hell?
N3K0_M: I was just joking about the demon thing, is this some kind of special effect you got going on Fox??
M3L0NB4115’s has been unmuted by H̸̦̣̱͆̈̑ḭ̸̣͆m̴̨̛̲̼. Thank you for using a̸̡͊̚u̸̙̣͌́t̷̡̟̀o̷͍̝̾m̴̢̼̿̾o̴̦̅d̸̗͝ ̴̖͗̕ḃ̸̰̦͛ǒ̵̂͜͜ẗ̴͍͇́.
M3L0NB4115: Me next.
He turned back towards his victim, and was met by the sudden eruption of a wall of green flame. It blasted him back towards his set up, and he hastily grasped for the keyboard, his first instinct to end the stream, before he struggled for the call button. In his panicked state though, he kept missing.
The roar of flames grew- Horns. Horns were appearing. Fox could only stare in fear as from the flames, a form appeared. A form all too familiar.
“N-No… You’re Dead.” was all he could say, as those malice filled eyes appeared, staring into him. “YOU DIED. YOU CAN’T BE.” Fox looked around, his eyes landing on the door. He needed to run, but his body wouldn’t move.
“Run. RUN.” he was screaming still, at his own body to obey him, as Strade, new, remade, with a familiar gaping hole in his chest, towered over him now. A smile spread across his face, as recognition flickered in those acidic eyes.
“Mein… Fuchs… Did you want to see me so badly?” he rumbled, his voice as rumbly as distant thunder. And as painful for Ren to hear as nails on a chalkboard.
His body finally deciding to obey him at the sound of that voice, Ren made a mad dash for the door, his footing slipping on the blood coating the ground. The Door. The Door. He needed to make it towards the door.
But it wouldn’t open, as he yanked on it so hard he felt his shoulder  pop out of socket. He yowled in pain, but the door wouldn’t budge still. It was shut tight. Two clawed hands enclosed his shoulders, digging into his skin, drawing blood, sending coursing pain through his empty socket.
“Mein Fuchs… The first to give me a sacrifice… To summon me… I should have known we would see eachother again.”
Ren couldn’t bring himself to turn around to look back into those eyes. He could only stare at the door as it got further and further away. He was being pulled away from it.
“We have much to catch up on, ja?”

I hope you never stop talking about Leon. OG or Remake doesn't matter. Just keep it loud and LOUDER for the people in the back. Please. <33
Now, for my question, as we know that OGs and more specifically CGI movies are only canon to them, the new approach Capcom took with Leon's relationship with Ada starting RE2R to RE4R and how he's basically done with her at the end, there's a vaaast difference there imo it's practically unmissable and even Nick was talking how Leon is "done with her shit" to put it bluntly. So it really does seem like there's a different approach to Leon's entire relationship with her. And when we combine all that, it makes sense that Damnation is cut out of this because it's just not gonna fit... the entire concept and point of this game is Leon moving past his trauma that includes Raccoon City and Ada both, and he does that by forming a bond with another human being that he rescues but also Luis. There's so many different things and the way they play out that to me personally this is absolutely a different take on Leon. They're now two different people/characters. Which is why i am so excited and ready to see how RE6R will play out especially with Ada where we get the utmost closure.
Again, this is my two cents. But i really love your takes and i wish you continue. There's so many misinformation out there that's being spread on an almost daily basis that this fandom deserves some clearance. Stay strong and take care !! <3
Oh I absolutely agree!!! Capcom's definitely taking a new approach to Leon and Ada this time around with the remakes. Admittedly, I'm not the biggest fan of the vilification of Ada in the remakes, but then I've never been a big enough fan of her to have a strong opinion on it either way? Especially since they're just heavily leaning into what was already there in the original games, so I'm all here for this different perspective. Leon's feelings towards Ada in RE4R are completely justifiable and feel very realistic and genuine. Also I'm a HUGE sucker for narratives where two characters grow through their experiences with one another, so the way that Ashley and Leon do just that in the RE4R makes my heart melt. I'm really glad Capcom decided to approach Leon's Raccoon City trauma in the way they did — with his relationships with Ashley, Luis, as well as Ada and Krauser, being representative of him processing his inner turmoil and moving forward.
Hahaha thank you!!!! 🖤 Seriously, I'm glad you like my meta so much!!!
I think a lot of the misinformation floating around is just misguided, ya know? I don't think a lot of people are satisfied with the information provided to them (regarding anything prior to the remakes), so they're constantly digging for more and can easily find themselves believing something that's not necessarily true because that's what they want to believe. They want there to be more depth laid out in front of them than what's already there, they want a certain level of tragedy to be properly explored with good writing, etc.
Then the other part of it is that I think that younger/newer fans just take issue with OG Leon when they're not sexualizing him (which I'm not saying is wrong, mind you). Almost like people are threatened by the idea of their favorite character being flawed in a way that they don't deem as acceptable. Leon's flaws are relatively minimal and often come at the detriment of himself rather than others, but that doesn't mean that he is without any flaws that impact those around him. OG Leon wasn't/still isn't written with gen-z kids in mind, so I feel like it's natural for younger people to gravitate towards remake Leon because he's more palatable. He feels safer, so-to-speak. I think that's perfectly reasonable. However, I think the general bias skews peoples' perspectives when taking OG Leon into account.
Also I think people are just confused lol because of how murky lore shit can be, and again, people are want to believe anything that makes them think that there's more depth than what's being provided in canonical material.
That's why I'm happy to share my own meta/knowledge/whatever, because I think it's nice to offer another perspective into the mix!!

i hate to say it but all bruce does these days is whineeeee. which i feel like is antithetical to how i understand him as a character. like yes, he broods and he does obsess, but he doesn’t really whine unless some of the time if only alfred is there to witness it lol.
like, fr. i haven’t really been keeping up with comics, so maybe i’m off base with some of this, but here’s what it looks like from the outside
bruce’s relationship with dick is under-served or just basically ignored, when they do bring it out, it’s only for very quick angst fuel then right back to business like they don’t know each other at all
bruce accepting jason back into the family was rushed and handled by sub-par writing which didn’t support the emotional gravitas that said reunification should have involved. i’ve seen a lot of fics that did it way better than what they did. it feels shoe-horned. also, why is bruce tacitly rubber-stamping jason as batman-affiliated when he’s still using GUNS? like WHAT. how does that make any sense. do bruce’s emotional boundaries matter at all? does everything have to be jason’s way or the highway? bruce is notoriously stubborn. much as he loves jason, i can’t see him letting that slide IF this were to work. DON’T SKIP OVER THE IMPORTANT CHARACTER WORK. like, set up the foundations and then build on top of that. don’t just jump to the payoff and try to walk things back as you go! it’s lazy and shows where editorial mandate stymied good storytelling. and there are way more issues with it that i have than just that. of course i love to see bruce and jason caring about each other and getting along as much as the next fan but the way they chose to go about it raises SO many questions
tim who?
no tim has been flanderized so fucking bad. actually he’s been transformed more into the fandom-lite version of himself, which i do kind of hate. oh yeah, he’s with bernard now. WHOOP TEE DOO! the fans have been clamoring for that pairing for years i’m sure.
there have been an assortment of good-to-middling damian comics since the 2010s as at least some writers seem vaguely interested in that dynamic with bruce but for every 2 mildly tolerable issues they drop one that’s got fucking jack shit bonkers writing in it and relies on only the most tired of “U LIED TO ME” tropes. nothing will compare to the tomasi 2011 batman and robin run and that was like the single decent output of the new 52 and the best thing dc has released in years. i’m right
among the newer characters they’ve released, it’s sad that they never really seem to... stick? PLEASE INVEST IN SOMEONE. more duke! more harper! more LITERALLY ANYONE!
bring the fun back to comics. where’s the storytelling. decide whether you want to create a new shitty joker and/or riddler iteration, or a new army of jokers and/or riddlers and/or scarecrows. or just create a new poo poo shitty villain of the week who will age like milk. why not have one based on social media. that’s a new one that i’m sure no one will ever see coming.
STOP SOFT REBOOTING EVERY ISSUE. we know, you’re going to start the next new groundbreaking run, take everything back to basics so nobody is confused, bring on the new readers with this cool new jumping on point, simple just batman alfred and the joker with juuuust enough of a new “modern” twist to it to differentiate it from the thousands of other times you did this. great job dc. doing great. when you’re done with that let’s do another mass cataclysm event across 20 books. im sure people will want to collect all those variant covers.
and i love how there are SO many fics that do it so, so, so much better. jesus fuck. and fic writers aren’t even being PAID! we’re not even being PAID!!
so, yeah, i’m kind of done with comics for time being. i’ve been dabbling in anime and games again, getting back to roots, but so far, it’s mainly been independent web content free of advertisers, executives, editorial and other bullshit that’s caught my fancy lately. the artistic freedom is really needed to tell a good story now. the multiverse / soft reboot / re-configure the universe every year bullshit that marvel popularized has infiltrated, like, everything, as well as the netflix model of “let’s cancel immediately after season 1”. there is no buildup. there is no excitement. there is no story. mba’s and boardrooms do not understand “story”. they don’t know what creativity is. they know what numbers, profits, engagement look like, and they are optimizing for that curve. i do not know why they are shocked when that curve sinks lower and lower every year. i just simply do not understand.
im so mad. kevin conroy’s dead and we’ll never get something like b:tas ever again. media has been my life since i was a baby. so i have to find some kind of stories to try to enjoy even if i have to eke it out in the margins of society lol

Hot Waters
A/N: this one’s a little more dialogue, but you manage a hotel Harry stays at and have to help him with an issue.
Part 2
———————————————————
As a manager of an upscale hotel I saw a lot of celebrities filter through the door. I could probably write a book, my own version of a tell-all exposing some celebs for what they really were. Sometimes the nicest ones were the snappiest and other times, the ones you thought were rude and stuck up took the extra time to thank your staff warmly and treat everyone with respect.
I’m in for the evening—that’s when most of them came under cover of the night, when they didn’t want the papps to know they were in town. Tonight’s guest stays a few feet from the counter as his manager or whoever checks him in. A false name of course, James Smith.
I glance at the man, the soft curls and stylish outfit, strong jawline and lean body. I could tell it was Harry Styles, this was a first for me. I could add him to the imaginary tell-all book in my head: oddly mute but just as cute in person. He looks antsy, fidgeting with his phone.
He catches me staring and nods. I give him my best customer smile and get back to the man finding his ID to show me.
“Thank you sir, here’s the key cards to your suites. Enjoy your stay!”
They barely acknowledge me, he’s already grabbing Harry’s arm and pushing him towards the elevators. Cool.
I don’t think much of it until five minutes before I leave for the night. It had been a long day for me covering since the breakfast shift—the morning manager was out sick. I was ready to fall asleep on my ride home but one of my newer staff comes up to me urgently.
“Hey, Y/N, suite 1203, the man is really annoyed and saying his hot water isn’t working.”
“Did you tell him how to turn the hot water on?” I ask, thinking she didn’t do a thorough job.
“Yes,” she looks upset. “Like three times before he just asked to speak to someone else.”
“Okay...” I wander to the front and take him off from holding. I check our database ahead of time for the name, James Smith. Of course. “Hello Mr. Smith, I heard about your hot water. It should be working-“
“It’s not! I got in thinking it would heat up but I was drenched with ice cold bloody water!” He sounds like a child about to throw a tantrum. I found working for celebs was just like working for glorified children sometimes.
“No other suite has made this complaint, the hot water is definitely working. Would you like a staff member to come check?”
He finally sounds reasonable, “Yes please, that would be great.”
“Let’s go,” I tell the newbie, she was still in training so it would be a good opportunity. But just as I step out from behind the counter an elderly customer walks up and I have to leave her behind. Guess this was my last task before heading home.
I knock on the door 1203 and hear a shout from inside that it’s open. I try the lock but it isn’t so I just use the master key and slip inside.
“Hi, Mr. Smith-“
“We both know it’s Styles,” Harry...Mr. Styles is dressed in nothing but a towel around his waist. His hair is wet and he really looks like a teenage fantasy. And with the way my eyes are glued to his abs, maybe I was reliving some teenage fantasy.
“Mr. Styles,” I clear my throat but from the way his mouth quirks I know the silence between when he spoke and I responded was a little too long. Long enough to notice I was staring. Jesus, I had to stay professional. I recall how he sounded on the phone-he’s just a big man baby, I remind myself. I was just way too single. “I can show you how to turn the hot water on so you don’t run into this again. We apologise for the trouble.”
He sighs, “You don’t need to apologise love, I was just frustrated b’cuz a nice relaxing shower turned into an ice bath.”
I let out the breath I was holding and erase the entry I’d written in my head about him so far. Replace man baby with: don’t judge based off his first impression, might be as kind as everyone says?
“Well we’re sorry about that anyway,” I head to the bathroom. I try to ignore the way he’d made the room personal in such a short amount of time. It wasn’t my job to pry into my customer’s personal lives...but it was so tempting!
I head to the shower and show him where to turn to get the hot water. It was simple but he claims the showers he’s used to, have the hot and cold on opposite sides. I would have pointed out there was an H and C engraved into the handle but the shower is such a small space and he crowds over me as he pays attention, I didn’t want to stay any longer. I’m very aware his towel brushing up beside me is the only thing he has on. I stumble back and compose myself.
“Is there anything else I can get you sir?”
“Please it’s Harry, don’t call me sir. Makes me feel weird.”
“Right, Harry.” I walk out into the bedroom and he follows. “Do you need anything else?”
“Um,” he looks off to the side to think and I can’t help myself—I take the moment he’s distracted to drink him in. He was fine indeed. My eyes catch on his famous butterfly tattoo, actually all of them. It was cool seeing them in person.
“You have any of your own?” Harry asks and my eyes snap up. I feel myself get hot, he caught me staring! But he doesn’t seem angry, he seems to think I was looking at his tattoos. I roll with it.
“Don’t tell my mom but yeah,” I reply. I only had two and managed to keep them secret from my very traditional family. Harry laughs and asks to see them. I show him the wildflower curved behind my ear. His breath tickles my hand that holds my ear down to show him.
“How do you manage to hide that?” He asks. I’m suddenly self conscious he’s studying me so close.
“A little bit of foundation, a lot of wearing my hair down.”
“Surely your mum wouldn’t care that much—you’re an adult.”
“You haven’t met my mom,” I think about her. “She’d say something like, ‘my tattoos are the reason I haven’t settled down’ or something.”
“Bloody hell,” he laughs. I feel a strange high knowing I’m making him laugh, he was being so friendly. Like an old friend. It was rare, but sometimes I forgot a customer was a hot shot musician or actor when I had one-on-ones. That usually scored them a down-to-earth point in my imaginary book. Maybe I just caught him at a bad time earlier, I think as he points to his tattoos, “I don’t want to know what your mum would say to me.”
“Um, Sign my arm so I can ink it probably?” I joke. I warm as he laughs. “She’s actually a huge fan of you, always has plenty of commentary when we watch the award shows. Claims she dated someone who looked just like you in high school.”
Oh god, I was blabbering. But from his expression, he finds it amusing.
“That’s lovely,” he studies my face again and I try not to squirm. I retreat back into professionalism, about to ask if he needed anything before I left—my shift probably ended. But he asks, “You said there were two. What about the second one?”
My body feels prickly, this was a customer and I was about to flash him-well not entirely but showing him where my second was...it was a big no being who I was and who he was!
“Right here,” I casually slap the general area of my underboob when he continues waiting. He raises an eyebrows and I just bite my lip. I was past nervous—at this point I was surprised my legs themselves hadn’t given away.
“May I see?” He asks, his face is intimidating when he asks so seriously. At least he was being polite, and he seemed genuinely interested.
Wait, was I really doing this?
“I...don’t know if that’s the best idea?” I squeak. He flashes me a smile could make a grown woman like me take off my shirt to show him. But I’m frozen in place.
“Is it personal?” He asks. Oh my god he didn’t get why I didn’t want to show it. Maybe I was the one making it a big deal.
Okay, I would show him.
“No, it just requires me to untuck my shirt,” I joke. “But I’m off for the night now anyway so I guess I can...” Every tug of the fabric feels like it’s slow motion, the blood rushing to my ears sounds like the roar of the ocean. He steps closer to me—still only in a towel! And finally I lift up the shit to just under my bra, the tattoo is the words the sun will rise again curving under my boob. It was a gentle reminder I kept close to my heart, and Harry was the first person aside from my best friend I had shown this to. It was strangely intimate.
He reaches out his hand and stops halfway, realising where he would be putting his hand. He retracts it and lets out a nervous laugh. I almost sigh at the missed contact.
“That’s really beautiful. I like the quote,” he says honestly.
“Yeah,” I can barely meet his eye. “It’s a good reminder. I can think of like, 10 worst-case-scenarios at any given moment. So...”
I trail off. The tension in the room seems to have grown in the last ten minutes. I’m inhaling it, and Harry is breathing it. And when I finally make eye contact with him, I can’t tell if he’s judging me or just watching me. He’s chewing on his bottom lip just staring at me, I can’t help but feel initimidated.
“Maybe I’ll get going if you hav-“
“You’re off your shift?” Harry cuts me off.
“Well,” I check my watch. “As of ten minutes ago yes.”
“What would you say to joining me for a drink?” Harry asks. Was this a drink drink? Oh my god, is this what happens when you flash someone your underboob.
“I’m not sure if that would be appropriate,” I feed the automatic line we’re all trained to say. But inside, I’m muffling my heart that wants to say yes I though you’d never ask.
“Well,” Harry says. “You’re just providing superior customer service.”
“But I’m off the clock.”
“So hard working,” Harry jokes. “She stays even after her shift is over.”
“You’re also dressed in just a towel,” I point out. He looks down and even he seems surprised. I laugh, “So that won’t exactly go down very well with my boss.”
“Aren’t you the boss?” Harry asks, his eyes scanning his open suitcase to pull out sweats. He steps into the bathroom—where moments earlier he was demanding a hot shower.
“Sort of, I co-manage. But I don’t own the hotel so...I have to answer to someone. Hey-didn’t you desperately need a hot shower?”
Harry doesn’t even close the door, but a minute later he’s back out in sweats. “I did, it was a long day travelling and I wanted to relax. But you’ve managed to do that for me.”
“Nice to know I’ve got the same charm as a hot shower,” I say cheekily.
“You’ve got more charm than a hot shower,” Harry goes to the minibar. “Now what can I make you?”
“Oh you’re making the drinks? Here? I can just ask the staff to bring up-“
“No, just sit down. I’m taking care of this.”
I boost myself up onto the dresser and watch him mix drinks. This close, I can reach out and trail my hands over his tattoos, see the stubble coming into his face, see the dimension to his hair. I was so totally single, just being this close to someone remotely good looking turned me absolutely gaga.
“So tell me honestly, how this is,” Harry hands me the concoction, watching me closely. I take a sip and nearly snort it out, it was strong.
“I don’t think I could drive home if I drink all of this,” I cough. “That almost went down the wrong pipe.”
Harry takes a big sip of his and laughs, “If you’re driving, don’t take any more of this.”
I settle the flute down and Harry places his down beside mine.
“I don’t have anything else to offer,” he looks at me.
“I can still ring something up for you.”
“I think I already rang up what I wanted,” he leans in, he was flirting. With me! And I can’t help myself. I lean towards him too. I forget where I am and what kind of trouble I could land myself in if I let this go through. I can’t even think straight, I just want to-
His fingers on my face jolt me out of my hypnosis. I lean back and slide off the dresser. I could get fired! What was I thinking!?
“Where are you going?” His brows knit together as I move away from him.
“I should get going home, I’ve been in since 6am.”
“Oh course,” Harry clears his throat. “Yeah-sorry I didn’t mean to keep you.”
“No it’s fine,” I say. “I would love to provide some of that superior customer service. But I really am functioning on one bar right now. I’ve got to go home and recharge.”
“Recharge yeah? A hot shower maybe?” Harry teases.
“Hm, yeah if I can get the hot water to work,” I tease back and I swear he blushes.
“I know a place where the hot water works 100%,” he tilts his head to his bathroom. Now it’s my turn to blush and walk towards the door.
“Alright,” he sticks out his hand when I turn to say bye. I stare at it before realising he wanted me to shake it. “Goodnight.”
I laugh and take it, “Goodnight Mr. Styles.”
Oh for god’s sake, I’m caught staring into his eyes again as we shake hands. He doesn’t let go of my hand and I can’t break eye contact. Finally, he cracks a smile and I look away. I really had to go or I could not hold myself back.
“Don’t hesistate to contact front desk for anything,” I say as I open his door. “And maybe don’t drink too many of that whatever mix you made.”
He pouts, “It’s the only thing keeping me company tonight.” Maybe I was right, he was a big baby. But one who’s cheeks I wanted to pinch. I resist the urge and wave before heading to the elevators.
I let out a breath when I get on. If I wasn’t careful, the man in 1203 could land in me some hot waters, no pun intended. If I wanted to keep my job that I loved, I had to make sure I steered clear of him. For good. And maybe find myself a boyfriend. Because...that was a close one.

IT'S SPOOKY SEASON! How would Aizawa, Vlad King, Midnight and Present Mic feel about a small Seamstress S/O who LOVES Halloween, like the MOMENT August moves to September and the weather starts getting cooler they bring out the pumpkin spice candles, big comfy sweaters, pumpkin spice lattes and Halloween decor, bonus points if they bake pumpkin treats :3
HALLOWEEN TIME!! Halloween oreos Halloween oreos Halloween oreos Halloween oreos Halloween oreos >:3
Aizawa: He’s pretty indifferent to seasonal stuff, his wardrobe is usually ever unchanging and his favorite foods are mostly year-round things, though all the black cat decorations are enjoyable and he likes seeing his kids get excited about the season so he’s no scrooge about it.  He’s more than happy to let you decorate your living space if you share it, and if you don’t he’ll even let you decorate his too, he’ll probably even ask you to come with him to get things for his students to decorate as well.  He’s probably a disastrous baker but he’ll linger around you if you’re baking, especially if you ask him to keep you company while you do.  Put him to work on the easy stuff, melting butter, chopping nuts, oiling pans etc.. measuring isn’t really his forte. Despite your initial disbelief, he’d do a couple costume is you asked him incredibly nicely (you’ll probably owe him a favor...or five) despite how he may act though he probably enjoys it. Not a huge fan of sweet drinks himself but he’ll surprise you with them if he has the extra time, out on patrol, if he knows you’re working late, etc.. if you work together you can expect one on your desk once or twice a week, exactly how you like it even if you don’t remember ever telling him your order.  Scary movies don’t bother him so feel free to drag him into a marathon of them, he’ll lay back on the couch and watch with you when you’ve got the downtime. Be wary though, if you get scared he’s probably gonna make fun of you just a little. His favorite thing about the season is for sure the smells, nutmegs, gingers, pumpkin etc...he likes the sharp scent of fall and the neutral colors are also pretty enjoyable for him. But on top of that, he just likes seeing other people be excited about it, even if he acts like a stick in the mud sometimes but you know just like everyone else he’s pretty soft where it matters. He always gives himself away by coming to you and talking about how Mina scares Denki every morning without fail for the ‘spirit of the season’ or the running list of what to dress Bakugou up as for the holiday (top contender is currently: q-tip). get a sexy cat costume Sekijiro: Come on his hero name is a vampire joke  He probably likes it much more than he lets on, and like Aizawa, he loves watching his kids get excited about it. He probably lets them pick a costume for him every year (it’s usually some type of vampire) He’d be overjoyed to decorate with you, and will definitely leave up the decorations until it’s time to change for the winter season.  He loves seeing all the foliage change color too, go on a few walks with him before it gets too cold (even after, he’ll just wrap an arm around you, but he’ll say he feels bad keeping you outside in the cold).  I feel like he really loves fall seasonal drinks and stuff, maybe not the signature pumpkin spice but something akin to it may be slightly less sweet. But he’ll try anything you offer him and pretend to like it even if he doesn’t for the sake of not killing your excitement.  He always makes a mental note of the things you like to surprise you every so often. He likes baking with you even if he’s not always great at it, but he’s a pro at kneading dough, for obvious reasons, he’s also good for hand-mixing, and eating batter (”You’re setting such a bad example for your students! Stop you’ll get sick!” “They can’t even see me!”) Also totally down for a couples costume, he’ll think it’s funny and cute of you to want to match with him so he’ll definitely do it, and if his students don’t already know about you and suggest one he’ll even let them know he’s got to be able to match with someone this year.  Super loves scary movies, classic monster stuff Dracula, The Blob, anything Junji Ito, he doesn't mind newer stuff but sometimes its a hair too gorey/sexual to be tasteful for him. They don’t scare him, for the most part, there’s just one very specific thing that bothers him (It’s Teke Teke, even just mentioning it is enough to send a shiver up his spine, seriously don’t even joke about it he’ll cry and be mad at you for at least two days or until you give him a heartfelt apology without laughing because it’s “seriously not funny babe come on”) If you have made the mistake of making a Teke Teke joke at him in the past and he discovers even a single thing you are afraid of he will hold it over your head, don’t think he’s not that petty. But he’ll only do it as payback. If you're nice about Teke Teke he will promise to protect you from whatever awful movie monster scares you. If you aren’t well then you’ll just have to face Tomie yourself, unfortunately, “sorry babe but it’s about time to shape up, looks like it’s just you and Tomie now, alright well, goodnight” *clicks off lamp* (of course, he will cave in mere minutes and promise to protect you especially if you actually look scared and his joke didn’t calm you down at all) Don’t worry no evil movie monsters will get to you with Vlad around. get a sexy vampire costume
Nemuri: Loves Halloween, please fall is this woman’s bread and butter, the fashion is impeccable it smells great and Halloween costumes are so much fun. She’ll 1000% try to rope you into some overtly sexy costume for her own enjoyment even if that sort of thing isn’t your speed, she’s gonna beg, just for one night. Loves decorating probably has the 12-foot skeleton from home depot. Her and Hizashi probably scare the crap out of their students at least once a year, some insane grand scheme that Aizawa and Vlad both know in and out but won't bother tell tell their students if they are unlucky enough to be the targets of it. If you work at UA with her and even think about ratting her out she’ll sniff it out from a mile away and then you’ll be at the top of the duo’s hit list.  Put simply...there is no option but a couple's costume. You will be matching if its the last thing she does.  Loves the seasonal drinks, pumpkin spice is her jam, whenever you pick one up get her one too she’ll thank you generously, and she’ll always have one for you too.  She’s pretty good at baking but not nearly patient enough for it, she’ll distract you halfway through and by the end of the night, all you’ll have is a half made batter, a preheated oven, and some hickeys.  Serial candle lighter and buyer. It’s an addiction, honestly, the smell of nutmeg may be so overpowering that you have to blow one out. At least the mood lighting is nice.  Also loves scary movies and will watch as many as you want, she may jump during them but they’re quick to leave her mind after so if you’re a scaredy-cat she’ll tease you but in the end she’s got a few pretty good methods for distracting you. She loves the season herself but she loves watching you get excited about it, seeing you hobble in the door with arms full of decorations and baking goods just brings her so much joy. The first time you break out a classic fall sweater she’ll compliment you for hours and steal it to wear the next day. get a sexy devil costume
Hizashi: Also loves the season and Halloween, hates all the spiders though, eugh. Not so bad if they’re all fake which normally they are. Aizawa is on his shit list for leaving a huge fake one on his desk chair one day, he tied a string to it and when Hizashi pulled his chair out started tugging the string, seriously he screamed so loud Nemuri thought someone was being abducted.  Though he’s usually good at getting people back on those sorts of things, but Aizawa is notoriously hard to scare so it’s just been festering for years.  As mentioned for Nemuri, they definitely pair up and come up with some huge scheme to scare like at least 10 kids at once, ideally a whole class. It takes weeks of planning, usually happens somewhere around the middle of the month, anyone who has had the misfortune of being part of the target group before always gets tense around that time of year as they are very effective (Tamaki and Mirio have been scared three years in a row, Mirio handles it very well but Tamaki does not come to school for two days after). He loves to bake, he’s probably decent at it too but he makes a huge mess, and he gets distracted too easily if you kiss him or touch him at all you will (similar to with Nemuri) just be left with a half-finished recipe and slightly sore thighs. It’s not his fault. it is Couple costume or Halloween simply does not happen. That's the law! The cheesier and sillier the better, please.  He can either love pumpkin spice or hate it depending on the cafe, but he’s addicted to surprising you with little fall treats so expect plenty.  Big apple cider guy though.  He’ll watch a horror movie with you sure. he’s not afraid of most, but the really good ones will get him, slashers don’t bother him, ghosts are fine, home invasions are nothing, but demons? Eugh. Also bugs of course. An over the top gore makes him squirm. If it’s one of those maybe invite Eraser to deal with his quirk because of the screaming. Your neighbors will think you’re trying to murder the poor man, though you’re probably no better. He likes getting scared with you though so don’t worry about it, and like Nemuri he usually forgets about it afterward.  if he finds it to be a slow, boring movie expect to get sidetracked, especially if you’re jumpy, he’ll put an arm around you and pull out all the classic cheesy moves and lines until he can coax you over. Loves carving pumpkins, seriously loves it so much probably dedicates a class period to it. Will carve a matching set with you if you ask (in his eyes it’s something akin to a marriage proposal so be mindful when you do ask). get a sexy maid costume

(100) Million Dollar Lawsuit
Intro | part1 | part2 | part3 | part4
We are on the last chapter (for now) and this the most chaotic one. Mainly because it doesn’t follow any kind of chronological order (or logical sense), it’s just Russ going in circles for literal years.
But I’ll try my best to condense it for you, so all you need to do is to keep your seat belt fastened until the aircraft stops completely.
Tumblr media
Right after the failed Ari lawsuit, Russ goes back to his one and only love: Taylor Swift 💫 And he has learned a lesson — not a good lesson, mind you, but a lesson: small claims courts won’t take him anywhere. If he really wants to punish women for not complimenting his suit, he will have to file a multi-million dollar federal lawsuit.
But, since denying sex from The Russell isn’t illegal (yet), he had to come at it from a different angle. I’m going to give Russ a chance to explain himself first.
Before you ask: yes, the following was Russell’s response to a woman thanking Taylor for visiting an 8 year-old girl who was very badly burned in an accident.
Tumblr media
As I’ve always said, it’s okay if you aren’t fluent in Bullshit. That’s what I’m here for.
You see, Russell views human interactions as a series of transactions: I make a tweet worth liking, you go on a date with me; I take you to Olive Garden, you give me a handie for free; I put on a suit, you hug me and smile; I write you a song and sue you, you produce said song. Whenever women don’t fulfil their side of the deal, he becomes enraged.
But the reason he has such a strong hate-boner for Tay, is because she seemed to also follow his same ‘moral code’. A kid makes a cute video, she visits them at the hospital. A fan writes her a letter inviting her to their wedding, she goes to the wedding. A couple of kids fold 1989 paper cranes for Andrea, Taylor invites them to one of her concerts.
Russ thought “this is a done deal”. He didn’t write that song for Taylor because he particular liked her; he just thought she’d be the most likely artist to produce it — or at least acknowledge his existence.
Tumblr media
I mentioned before that Russ wrote a whole-ass book about this. And I think it’s as good a time as any to talk about it. For a short amount of time, Russell chilled out about the ✨100 million dollar lawsuit ✨ but my guess is that he thought his book would get him the same results as a lawsuit? To be fair, the book is fantastic. 5/5, would recommend.
He details the harassment he went through after suing Taylor Swift (the first time). Apparently old ladies at coffee shops would scream at him because he dared to sue Our Queen. A Mexican even pointed a gun at him (it wasn’t me, guys! Just a fellow countryman ❤️) and ordered Russ to drop the lawsuit. Computers at his job caught on literal fire because he was sent very powerful viruses. His friend Ken — who definitely exists! — was hit with a Molotov cocktail. Yep. 2016 was definitely the year people were willing to murder for Taylor Swift.
There’s also this brilliant dream sequence that involves an owl with the voice of Morgan Freeman, and Taylor’s agents guarding a tower in which she’s being held captive.
ALSO ALSO: an entire chapter is called “SHE CHOSE HIM OVER ME”. Taylor Swift chose Joe Alwyn — a man she actually knows — over a man she’s not even aware exists. Women, amiright?
I think Russell would enjoy the Kaylor community to a certain extent. Not the lesbian part, obviously: he doesn’t trust women who don’t want to touch his peen. I just mean the baseless hatred of Joe. Look, I made a little collage of his rants ❤️ tell me if any of this sounds familiar!
Tumblr media
You know — I’ve been joking around a lot about Russell just wanting to do the nasty with Taylor. But you know me, I like joking around. In reality Russ only wants what is fair. He wants to put a stop to all these senseless acts of kindness perpetrated by Taylor ‘The Generous’ Swift.
Tumblr media
This isn’t about him at all, actually. Shame on you for thinking there’s an ounce of greed in that selfless little body of his. HE’S DOING THIS TO PROTECT THE KIDS WITH CANCER!
Tumblr media
There are no ulterior motives here! This isn’t about a date!
Tumblr media
THIS IS NOT ABOUT A DATE AT ALL GUYS STOP SAYING THAT.
Tumblr media
I think this is my favourite post of his, because– grammatically speaking –he doesn’t specify which of them is wearing the red dress. And that sends me every goddamn time.
Anyway. The book, as magnificent as it was, got him absolutely nowhere. I know, I can’t believe it either. So he went back to focus on his lawsuit. But apparently not enough, because he didn’t serve her properly..? Now, don’t expect me to understand this, because I am very stupid (so it’s quite a good thing that I haven’t sued anybody for millions of dollars) but something about him sending the lawsuit to her old legal team..? And then trying to force UPS to serve her? I think he even said he was going to serve her in the middle of one of her concerts... but I’m guessing that didn’t go as planned 🤷‍♀️ oops.
Of course, Russie wouldn’t allow such an anticlimactic ending. Can you guess what he did? Please tell me that you can guess what he did. HE MADE ANOTHER SONG 😭❤️
This one is called ‘I Don’t Get You, Taylor Swift’. Another masterpiece that we definitely didn’t deserve 🙌

youtube
This was around April, 2019. By then I was being lured away by Kaylors, so I broke it off with Russ. I know that he filed a 3rd lawsuit against Taylor last year, which is just like the second one but hopefully this time he’ll be able to serve. And listen— I know that sounds like an awful thing to wish on Taylor, but I’d rather have Russell occupied suing a rich woman (who isn’t even going to deal with him), than a poor sex worker in Nevada. I bet TayTay would prefer that too.
Well guys, I’ve mentioned this a few times already, but I really had to be selective with the amount of information I was going to throw at you. I’ve avoided some of the shittier stuff he said or did, because I wanted to keep these posts as lighthearted as possible. I also didn’t touch on many things because they would just derail us. Like for example: one of the few lawsuits he has filed against someone who isn’t a woman, was against the state of Utah. I know, right? He’s trying to singlehandedly legalise prostitution in Utah, and even wrote a book (more like a pamphlet) brilliantly titled ‘Why I'm Making It Legal for Your 18 Year Old Daughter to Get In Bed with a Complete Stranger for Only 500 Bucks: A Short Essay from a Pro Se Litigant who is Challenging the Utah Brothel Bans’.
I copy-pasted that title guys, I swear to god.
The book is very graphic. This one I certainly do not recommend as I still suffer nightmares because of it.
Tumblr media
Soren is a character who also had to be cut out — which is a shame because he really tried to be a good christian and help Russell. Not as in “I support you, Russell” but as in “why don’t you take a nap, Russell”. Turns out, even cinnamon rolls have a limit. Russ, of course, blames Taylor Swift for the fact that he’s losing his friends. I’m not joking — it’s an article in his lawsuit:
Greer has lost family relationships, friend connections and business connections because of the trauma of Taylor Swift. His family tells him to "get over it," resulting in shouting matches and strained relationships. Greer's friends get annoyed by his focusing on the trauma of it, when nobody knows the pain of getting rejected by a public figure — twice — and the fallout that has resulted from it.
Russell embodies that comic/meme of the little guy who puts a stick in his bicycle’s wheels and then blames Taylor Swift when he inevitably falls.
Sooooo...
Maybe someday I’ll write a post about Russ’ latest antics. I know he still posts stupid stuff on Facebook, which he later deletes. He shined especially bright at the peak of the BLM movement. He also plead guilty to electronic communications harassment— did you see that conviction coming? Yes, yes you did 😌
Regarding Taylor, I read that Russ knew someone who knew Todrick Hall — and Russ sent him a song and video for Taylor. All he got back was a Cease and Desist letter. But I’d have to do a bit of digging to get the details. I was already so overwhelmed with organising the information I was previously aware of, that I decided to leave the newer stuff for another time. You know, once I’ve had some time to inform myself... as well as a really long shower.
Since I left so much shit out, I’ll be taking questions if you have any. And if you can muster the courage to ask them. I’m weirdly proud of being some kind of Russell encyclopaedia. I might not have much going for me...
There’s no ‘but’ — that was the complete statement.
Before I go, I wanted to add this screenshot. I absolutely love it because it summarises ✨The Russell Experience✨. Russ wants Taylor to know pain, poverty and punishment. But when asked “why?” his answer is just “oh, I was ignored lol”
Tumblr media
*none of the screenshots are mine

The River where the Moon Rises
She told him she would meet him there, at the river where the moon rises. In his heart Jungkook knows one day she will come.
Chapter 4
Joe-ra blinked hard at the clock behind her. Another late night in the Big Hit studio and another hit song coming she was sure. She had no lyrics for this song just yet, but she had woken from her sleep humming a tune and remembered dancing to it in her dream. She'd hummed it again until she recorded the loose rhythm and had been holed up in the studio every night since.
It was always the same story; most if not all an evening well after closing she'd make her way to the building. She'd nearly been discovered one time when someone had left their bag in the same practice room as her, and after that she waited til late before making her way there. The guards knew who she was, and once in, she made her way to the studio that was always booked under an alias.
Sound proof and safe she was able to record backing tracks of her next album, one she never knew the release date for, but being in the studio let her work on music and visualisation. Maybe she was delusional or overly positive but she hoped that somehow her voice would come back. Too much googling on the subject hadn't done anything to alleviate her fears but keeping some sort of routine anchored her for now. She'd worked her whole life to be a singer, made it and then lost it all.
Perks of a well off family afforded her every hobby she wanted, after music it would be dance. Whether hip hop, jazz, tap or ballet she loved every form. Earphones on, ballet shoes on, to keep limber she'd practice old routines, modify some to newer music or on a bad day she would simply lie on the floor staring at the ceiling. Sometimes grief overtook anything, and lying there silently crying was what she did best.
Knowing for a fact that no one was there to disturb her, it wasn't difficult to visualise the choreography she wanted, even if she couldn't sing the lyrics. Joe-ra always felt the music through dance and it allowed her mental blocks to ease away. Dancing melted away her stress but tonight nothing was doing the trick.
Realising it was a full moon tonight in a wintry Seoul made her way alone to Cheonggyecheon Stream to soothe her soul. Every Saturday she could manage, Joe-ra pulled her coat closer to herself as she watched the almost frozen stream. Eyes closed she listened to the trickle of the water push against the crackle of ice shards as it travelled down the man made stream. The place was usually desserted, and she was pretty sure she'd be in trouble if her manager found her out here so late, alone but none of that ever seemed to matter in the moment.
The picturesque views made a small smile bubble to the surface of her mouth as she took in the twinkling lights, as the sun came into view across a hazy Seoul sky. Joe-ra's memories somehow pulled her back briefly to that night of crazy intense almost mythical sex in that club, promising she would keep in touch, even bravely mentioned that she would meet him here; close to the Cheonggyecheon Stream Steps. But then everything changed.
Joe-ra stared off into the distance. Would he have turned up? She'd dropped her phone soon after and lost a whole bunch of messages, and found when she was ready to speak to him that she couldn't. Oh what cruel irony! She'd played the scenario over and over in her head. Would she have been able to tell him she couldn't speak? Would he have wanted to stay if he had known?
Forlorn of hope, her eyes found the moon. It's large silvery grey figure hovered high in the sky reflected in the ice below.
Ass now numb from having sat there so long alone on the same stone step, and heart feeling colder, Joe-ra willed her legs awake, rubbing her jeans to warm herself up, as she dusted herself off and made her way towards finding a taxi to take her back to the studios.
Sitting amongst the stone steps allowed her to clear her mind, that or run away to her grandmother's home in the country. She struggled to remember the last time she had gone to see her mother's family but now wasn't the time for thinking. It was time to go home, sleep and forget everything.
Jungkook watched a heavily coated woman wait nearby, usually around the same times as he usually did. She was here late today though, not that it mattered to him; she sat back, staring up at the full moon tonight, she was near enough he could see some reflection of the moon upon her face. She was soon up on her feet and getting ready to walk away.
Tonight it was emptier than usual, most likely down to how cold it was, it seemed only him and that woman had made the journey out. He blinked back heavily, his head was full of haziness and he stopped feeling the cold hours ago.
Everyone ignored each other and that was fine with him. No following cameras, no bright lights, screaming fans or struggles with privacy. But his usual late night friend across the stream was leaving and he felt lonely again.
Guess I'm not the only lonely person in this city he told himself, staring mindlessly into the stream a little longer before eventually heading back to the dorm.
Joe-ra walked towards the subway entrance, the walk along the steps wasn't long. She'd noticed the same guy sitting on the opposite side as she always did but he never bothered her, therefore she had no reason to pay him too much heed. She had to cross over the walkway to reach the exit, and the one on his side was closer.
An empty bottle of soju rolled across from the man, as he groaned loudly.
Ignoring him and wanting to simply get home to her warm bed, rubbing her hands together Joe-ra kept walking. The guy's groans were getting louder and it was getting more difficult to ignore him. Then she heard it.
A loud sob escaped him as he fell over several empty bottles at his feet, beginning to wobble now as he tried to steady himself. She walked away stopping near a wall. Damn her conscience. Why wasn't she walking away?
Swearing inward for possessing a shred of courtesy to the rest of the human race, and against her better judgement Joe-ra carefully thought about walking back across the stepping stones linking both banks of the stream toward him and running away.
Jungkook was sure he was drunk out of his mind. He should have stopped himself from reaching for that first bottle, let alone the fifth and then the sixth; but lately his heart just felt so heavy he didn't know how to handle it. Eyes seeing double vision, face firmly on the ground he blinked hard as a pair of black heeled boots walked ever closer towards him.
Oh shit don't let it be the police. Or Nam Joon, please be the police over Nam-joon he sobbed again, half drunk but fully wallowing in his own self pity.
Joe-ra reached in her pocket for a tissue. The idea of touching anyone made her skin want to shrivel up, and she most certainly wasn't going to touch some random drunk. Sighing as she realised she had none, Joe-ra pushed her hand into her coat and used the sleeve to try and paw at him to try pull back his hood with no success.
Getting as close to his face without being too near, Joe-ra studied his face. Nope no idea who this was. She gasped as she saw two full ears with rows of earrings.
A smaller but colder hand moved his hoodie off his face, kneeled down beside him and picked his hair out of his eyes delicately.
Joe-ra sighed. This poor guy's eyes were almost sadder than hers.
Jungkook couldn't see who this stranger was, but they were awfully quiet in their actions. No swearing or shouting. Just sitting him upright, moving his mask carefully which was pathetically hanging off one ear off and brushing it free of the dirt.
Joe-ra couldn't believe her luck. Of all the drunk shits to have stumbled upon, it had to be one of her father's employees. In the most famous band since forever, swaying from side to side and mumbling some rubbish she couldn't uncipher.
Pulling her jumper sleeve out further, she cleaned his face gently of loose grit and stone. His eyes were closed, a small restful smile on his face as her hands moved across his skin, a clean sleeve dabbed his moist eyelids carefully.
Joe-ra moved away a moment, her knees starting to hurt but his arm shot out and grabbed her leg making her wobble and grab his head to stop herself falling.
She shook her head. "Man, I do not want to be you when Nam-joon sees you," she wanted to say, but instead tutted at him, head shaking.
Jungkook sat on the ground holding onto her waist tightly, head against her stomach.
Fighting him off didn't seem to do anything. His grip was solid like someone was trying to take his favourite toy away from him. Nestled against her and getting comfortable he wasn't budging.
Giving up and lowering her head over him, Joe-ra found his hands and held them in hers. After a few minutes Jungkook held them back, realising it was still her hands, and she managed to eventually help him to his feet.
Two cold hands grabbed Jungkook's face and made it stop from falling side to side. Satisfied that his eyeballs were no longer going to roll back, but still very aware that the sun was now going to be rising fast; and with it other people had Joe-ra worried that they would be caught.
Needing to hail a taxi and fast, Joe-ra thanked the submissively drunk that was Jungkook for not struggling or causing a fuss. She held out her hand and he took it. They walked slowly but surely along the walkway, as they reached the steps.
Joe-ra held his warm hand and climbed a few steps, but he suddenly stopped moving. Sleepily he managed a half step suddenly falling on her, causing her to scrape an exposed knee across a step, as his whole weight fell into her back.
Her eyes rolling back in pain, knowing trying to scream out loud would have had no use, Joe-ra resisted the urge to smack him hard instead hitting him in the chest and letting go of his hand in frustration.
Try and do something decent and get injured for it.
Pulling herself upright again and really wanting to push him down the stairs herself, Joe-ra walked off, dusting her hands off.
"Dasi tteona jima," he looked at her drunk and upset. Don't leave me again he kept repeating to her as she realised holding her hand out of his reach made him look around for her and walk towards her. "Why do you keep wanting to leave," he mumbled, "I said I'd come, be here. Stay with you. Why did it take you so long to come? I waited. I missed you. I missed you," he told her sadly, his hands grabbed her face and apologised.
"Mianhe," he hugged her tightly on the steps, afraid to fall she grabbed onto the side rail and him with the other. "I knew you would come. In my heart, I knew you would come. I didn't mean to drink so much," he sniffed, "don't go. I want to show you to them. You're real. And I knew you would come."
Totally confused, and starting to feel sorry for whatever heartbreak he seemed to be going through, she awkwardly patted his back and moved away. Holding out her hand he climbed the steps one by one to hold hers.
Joe-ra used this unorthodox method until they were able to find a taxi, and she literally shoved him into the back of a cab, pulling his hoodie over his head even lower as the taxi driver gave them stand looks.
Clearing her throat and holding out her phone for the plaza location he nodded and turned back to pull away.
A warm hand felt across the seat, found her fingertips, pulling her hand next to his as he tried to pocket her fingers into his jacket. "Jagi, you have such cold hands. I need to give you gloves," he pulled her closer to him, "I need to look after you. Then you won't leave," he snuggled her hands in his. "Cold hands," he kept mumbling as she tried her best to contain her anger at him. Reaching over and pulling his seat belt over him, Joe-ra was sure he even giggled? For someone that Nam-joon had described as a shy muscle bunny, he sure was talkative when he was drunk.
Her finger hovered over Nam-joon's name, she should tell him who she found, but they were nearly home now, and if she was honest she wasn't sure how he was going to react, and worse she get in trouble for being somewhere she shouldn't be.
She stopped. It wasn't like she had done anything wrong so why was she afraid? But if her father found out? Shit she was not ready to even comprehend what would happen if he found out one of his golden boys was getting up no good. She couldn't be associated with that.
His head rolled forward and she cupped it in time and pushed out back. Jungkook held her hands and snuggled into her neck causing her to awkwardly try and strain away from him. She was gonna have to boiled herself when she got home.
Eyes now rolling, she sat as far from him as she could, giving up when his big head kept flipping back and forth as they moved through morning traffic.
"Are you awake? I need your help 148." She typed it quickly hoping he would see it.
Mouth dry as they approached home, Joe-ra was desperate to unbuckle him and get him out the taxi as quickly as she could.
Narrowly avoiding the doorman she managed to get him into the lift where he was adamant he now lie down and sleep.
Punching their floor as hard as her fingers could she had to get him to their private floor to avoid any other residents, the image of her father absolutely pissed off at her actions spurred her on to wildly punch the number until the doors closed.
A quick side glance told her the idiot was still awake and Joe-ra let out a massive sigh as the doors opened to their floor and it was just them. The silence was unnerving, as was the way he wasn't letting go of her hand.
Refusing to leave the lift, Joe-ra kicked him in the ass and he was starting to focus again.
"Are we home my jagi?" he slurred again, enraging her even more. He watched her slender figure impatiently tapping her foot and reached out her hand to him.
"Baby, Oppa missed you," Jungkook grabbed her arm and slid a hand over her shoulder and turned to face her, pulling her into a tight hug. "I missed you so much," he sniffed, hitting his chest, "it hurt so much."
Jungkook hastily pulled his mask off and held her face closely. Big eyes startled and surprised stared back at his.
"Baby," he asked her softly, "did you miss me? Did you think of me?" his voice cracked.
What was that saying about drunks and honest answers? And why did his touch feel not sleazy for use of a better word? Why did she have so much food still in her fridge?
Random thoughts drifted out of her mind as Joe-ra, in the lights saw just how shit faced Jungkook was. Definitely not the same dude gracing the TV, this guy was so drunk and no amount of good looks could mask how pathetic he looked before, or heartbroken now.
Joe-ra nodded her head woodenly.
Jungkook perked up, so happy at her answer. "You did?!" he kissed her cheek. "I'm so soft for you. Don't tell the others." He stared at her until she nodded again.
Jungkook allowed the pretty lady to tuck his hair behind his ear, smiling at the intimate skinship. Reluctantly moving a hand under his jacket and feeling for his waistband Joe-ra yanked on his belt to grab hold of something in case he suddenly started going sideways again.
Groaning under his weight the walk to his apartment opposite to hers seemed never ending. Confident they were no longer about to be found out, Joe-ra let out her breath, and was prepared to drag him by the ankles to the front door if she needed to.
Patting his face to wake him from his stupor she pointed to the digital keypad, hoping he would somehow know his combination to get in. Several minutes of just staring at it and groaning had her ring the doorbell several times hoping someone was in to take this fucker off her hands.
**
Incessant rings of the doorbell woke the guys from their sleep. It was never a good thing to be woken that early especially when their manager wasn't due for another few hours.
Jin, a light sleeper, had the misfortune of opening the door. Before the eldest could get a word out, Nam-joon no longer in his dressing gown but shorts and a t-shirt was rushing toward the shoe rack to grab shoes and check on her.
Unfortunately it was just at the same time as Joe-ra stumbled through the door with Jungkook.
"What the fu—" came a voice, and even Joe-ra knew shit was gonna hit the fan now.
Arm drooping over her, Jin helped walk Jungkook to the kitchen table, the nearest place he could sit himself down.
Nam-joon looked at Joe-ra and then Jungkook as she tried to loosen his vice like grip from her hand. Joe-ra felt Nam-joon's angry face staring into the back of her head.
"Ah," the only sound she could roll as she yanked on her arm free of a sleeping drunk who somehow still wasn't letting go. Whimpering as she rubbed her elbow as it smacked on the table.
Joe-ra's head was pulsing as she realised the magnitude of the situation and to be fair, she didn't really need to be hanging around to witness it. Not when she saw how angry Nam-joon was.
Standing awkwardly with his jacket in her free hand, she made eye contact with Nam-joon as the others slowly made their way into the living room area. Instinctively she held out her free hand to Nam-joon to free her from the drunk mess but she quickly recoiled on noticing that vein in his forehead popping. She knew that look, he was gonna blow and kill them all.
Jimin was trying to not freak out as they watched Nam-joon's eyes start to bulge and slowly turn wide, as J-Hope desperately did his best to wake up their drunk friend, slapping his face repeatedly.
"Ya, pabo wake up," Hope tried to shake free Joe-ra's arm, looking at Joe-ra and apologising for Jungkook but Jungkook had held on for dear life.
"No she's mine," he sniffed now grabbing her with the other hand pulling her into a hug. "I've missed you jagi."
"Um, are we missing something here? He really has a girlfriend?" Jin asked shocked.
Eyes massive now, Joe-ra struggled against him, trying to hold out her hand to anyone that would grab it, as her friend neared. She knew the sibling code, you don't date your brother's friends and she definitely wasn't.
Nam-joon squared in on Jungkook and it really did look like he was going to lunge at the youngest when Joe-ra spotted it and grabbed his arm haphazardly and tried to pull him away for fear of being injured in the crossfire.
As much as Jungkook was still heavily drunk, Nam-joon getting so vexed wasn't going to help right now.
"How? When—" he spoke in English, Nam-joon's anger wasn't letting him get a word out. "Ya," he roared, hands on his waist, trying to digest the situation, "where—" he pointed fingers at them again.
"Why is our yeppeun neighbour here so early? And why is Kookie hugging her?" Suga had arrived in his pyjamas as he read the tense room, in his usual deadpan voice.
"Anneaseyo," he spotted her and gave her a polite nod.
"Um, hyung, isn't that our neighbour?" Taehyung answered confused. "I thought she was Kookie's girlfriend. Our neighbour is his girlfriend? I thought she was American?"
"That," Nam-joon laughed angrily, "is my sister."

Isidro brings out the worst in Berserk (or, me going on a long, dumb tangent like the old days)
Tis’ time.
I was watching The Kavernacle’s recent upload about how a lot of anime capitalizes on this weird fetishization of women and girls - which is for the most part true and is why I personally try to stay clear of a lot of anime. Honestly, any anime that focuses way too much on the “Japanese school girl” archetype and anime that depict nearly all female characters as though they’re still in the adolescent stage either behavior-wise or “phenotypically” (like that moe shit) kind of weirds me out.
Berserk has kind of stayed away from this, but it seems like it teeters on that because so many of the female characters in the series are under the age of 20. There’s nothing inherently wrong with that but I noticed in the chapters where the Guts’ party first arrived on Elfhelm, the character designs were on the borderline of giving characters that round cherubic type face, but especially with the female characters. In the recently chapters (From the last two years) Miura seems to have chiseled the style again, which is more preferable IMHO.
But I think this kind of tangles into some wider problems I find with some character designs. If people remember me and my content, probably my biggest gripe with Berserk as a series was its usage of sexual violence toward women. It still bugs me but I can give Miura credit in that he seems to have teetered away from using it so exploitatively. THAT SAID, I think as an older fan (and an older person altogether) I think a bigger overarching issue with Berserk is that Miura was never really that good at creating female characters.
Tumblr media
(I can have so many interesting opinions now that I don’t care about making friends within this fandom)
No I’m not saying people shouldn’t draw any adult female character with more youthful features (I mean, as some who is at that age where I experience ageism, a lot of people - particularly men - believe that as soon as a woman hits 25 they’re suppose to shrivel up??? 🤨) just -
DON’T KNOW WHY A LOT OF (MALE) CREATORS DON’T UNDERSTAND THAT WOMEN CAN HAVE DIVERSE FEATURES AND DIVERSE PERSONALITY TYPES.
I think that diatribe is for another day (I know I’ve been explaining this to other people on my other social media during my Tumblr hiatus). But to condense what I’m saying, I notice that there isn’t a lot of age diversity of female characters: most of the female characters are in adolescent. Now, I don’t think it was a big issue in early Berserk because - and even though I still take some issue with how over-exploitation was handled - we still got to explore these young girls as characters whether it were girls like Casca, Theresia, Rosine(Rosalind), Jill, or even Erica and we’re meant empathize with the cruelty (or potential cruelty in the case of Erica) that the world dished out to them. Even with Luca and her gang we got explore the concept of sisterhood if just for a bit.
Now there’s less of that - WHICH CAN BE A GOOD THING because not every female character’s traumatic origin has to be rooted in a gender-based violence backstory. I like having Schierke not having a clear backstory and being “wise beyond her years” and we can just keep it that way. Only problem is that I see a lot more that weird lol!con humor when it comes to her - especially with her relationship with Guts.
I’m thinking of the excuse they use in hentai where, “the young prepubescent girl character is really a 7000 year old demon-lord from another dimension - so it’s not really p*doph!l!a.” Schierke is way mature for her own age, so she’s practically an adult. 😒
This isn’t just an issue with Schierke. Like, I notice a lot of up-skirt shots with these newer young girl characters; with Isma it’s kind of worse because she also embodies that “too naïve to know that she’s a turn on” when she’s like what? Thirteen? Fourteen?? I guess we’re also given the excuse that a lot of these characters are magical/supernatural/near-human so you can away with a lot more. Now that they’re on Elfhelm and there is a litany of these female characters  we just have a bunch of the fantasy-universe version of the Japanese school girl shit, where we enter -
Ugh. Isidro.
I wasn’t too fond of him the beginning but I could appreciate his place a little. But his introduction was the point where we we start to see more of that typical dumb, pervy schoolboy humor in the series. I get it: Isidro is a teenage boy.
So was Guts.
And Griffith.
And Rickert.
And it’s just as important to have a diversity of young boy characters as well, but it’s just that for the amount of spotlight Isidro is given, not much of it is meaningful, especially in recent chapters. If anything his character is devolving IMO. MAYBE it’s some weird affect that Elfhelm has on him and other characters that is yet to be explored, but I somehow doubt it. Maybe it’s a phase that’ll be gone soon. I dunno.
Maybe just overall the time spent on Elfhelm isn’t being spent as productively as I had hoped for. I mean BY NO MEANS AM I OVERLOOKING THE FACT THAT AFTER OVER 20 YEAR OF WAITING CASCA IS FINALLY CURED WHICH IS BY FAR THE BIGGEST ACCOMPLISHMENT IN THIS SERIES EVER but I think with so much anticipation of what comes next for her and Guts it’s frustrating to see other side stories that aren’t focused on their to reconciliation spent so frivolously. We got a bit with Guts and the Berserker armor; we got a bit with Schierke and her training; we got a bit with Farnese and her training; we got a bit with Casca retraining her self and her trauma.
See what I’m getting at a bit? We’re just getting bits and shit, it seems. No streamline story arc. We get introduced to one bit and then POP where at some other point with some other character. I get that things are a bit different in this setting because this is the first time in a long while that Guts, Casca and their company are actually physically safe from the affects of the formers’ brands. I with so much rest and recreation time I WANT there to be more retrospective time as well.
I’ve said elsewhere that I’m super duper disappointed with how Puck has gone downhill, especially in regard to he and Guts’ relationship. We haven’t gotten any sort of meaningful interaction with him since Isidro came into the story. AND EVEN BETWEEN THE TWO OF THEM IT’S MORE OR LESS MEANINGLESS FRIVOLITY. Couldn’t Puck and Isidro be using their on-screen time more wisely, even if it has to be away from each other. What happened to Isidro wanting to be a bad-ass swordsman? Like, just being associated with two badass swordsmen (now that Casca is active again) is not a replacement for character/skill development. DO SOMETHING. BE INSPIRED OR SOME SHIT (INSTEAD OF LOOKING UP WITCH SKIRTS).
And what the hell is Serpico doing? And Roderick? And aren’t there like three or four other -
- OKAY this is what happens when have these big ass fantasy adventure parties where only a third of the occupants actually contribute shit of merit. That’s why the O.G. Band of the Hawk worked; I guess that’s neo Band of the Hawk technically works but I just don’t give a shit about them because #fuckgriffith.
GOD DAMMIT I JUST NEED THE STORY TO GET BACK TO THE HOLY TRIAD CHARACTERS ALREADY (GUTS-GRIFFITH-CASCA). PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD LET MOONLIGHT BOY BE A BRIDGE TO THAT HAPPENING SOON. щ(ಠ益ಠщ)
I think I have to stop here.
Don’t you miss this? Me starting on one note and ending on something completely different but universally important?)

Don’t Just Watch
Spinner (Shuichi Iguchi) X Fem!Reader
Tumblr media
A/N: This is my first time writing fanfic, let alone smut. I’d appreciate any comments. Also, I wanted to thank @thotsforvillainrights for giving me helpful feedback on how to write this one!
Summary: You’re a camgirl and your best friend Shuichi is your trusty assistant. Viewers ask for a longer video from yourself performing a full-on sex scene, and Spinner ends up being your partner.
Warnings: Smut (18+), cussing, cumshot, double penetration, camgirl, filmed sex
Word count: 3.2k
Your side job started off as taking lewd photos for villain fetishists online for a quaint fee. After a few months of working alone, you now had your good friend Spinner help film and edit almost every one of your recent solo masturbation and role play videos for a premium porn site. The first anniversary of your channel is coming up soon.
Since becoming close to Spinner, it wasn't difficult to ask him to be your business partner as he’s such a kind-hearted guy. As the year you spent together went on, you became more and more capable of separating business and pleasure, so he eventually obliged in participating in some sexual scenes to entertain your growing audience.
In private, you love to touch yourself at how Spinner’s blushing face came out from behind the camera the first time you asked him to use his strong tongue to massage your clit as you pump yourself with a glass dildo. Or, you’d think about the few times he was charitable enough to reach out with his right hand to finger your pussy while shakily holding the camera in his other. The feelings you hold for him are mostly professional, but seeing his commitment to you after all this time only makes you yearn to have him in other ways.
—-
While talking over new video ideas with your partner at the empty bar, he mentions that newer followers have been leaving comments demanding for full-on sex content. With your channel open on his computer, he turns it slightly so that you can see the top comments on your most recent upload.
“Y/N’s videos always get me to come in five minutes or less, I'd love to see her do it to another hot piece of ass…?” Spinner recites. He shifts his eyes towards you to gauge your emotions before swallowing and turning back to the screen to read the next one. “Don’t get me wrong, I love watching her play with that- that uh... little pussy of hers... but watching her get railed by an actual c-cock would get me to stay,” Spinner reads. He looks up at the ceiling from the laptop on the counter in front of you, slightly blushing.
Finally, Spinner turns to look at your face and assures, “Your numbers and tips are coming in just as great as before, but that last comment had 53 likes Y/N, so maybe—.”
While Spinner was walking you through the comments, your mind flipped through the potential sexual partners you could bring into your secret world. It felt nerve-wracking to think about choosing exactly who you wanted to be in front of the camera. However, going through the list in your brain, there truly was only one option. It had to be him. You knew that the sexual experience would be something you want to go back to over and over — plus the fans would die to see the rest of the body connected to the hot tongue and thick digits they did see so often. However, once you thought about approaching your masked friend to ask for such a favor, your heart nearly beat out of your chest.
You shook your head after realizing you’d been staring at the bottles of liquor on the wall, and turned to face your friend. “I want to do it.”
“Really?” he said, raising his eyebrows and widening his eyes. He took a moment to close the laptop and turn his body to you as much as he could in the bar stool. “Y/N, you know I’d do anything for you...your channel, I mean.” Spinner closes his eyes before continuing, “So, if you really want to, then I'd like to volunteer.” I’ve wanted to go further with you since the day you first spoke my name, he thinks. Please say yes. Please.
“Shuichi… yes, I’d appreciate that so much,” you smiled. “Maybe we can call it ‘Villians’ First Time’, or something like that,” you laughed. You were so glad that he chose to speak up before you did. “I think it’ll work out well, we could easily set up a tripod.”
“I like that idea,” he replied smiling while rubbing the back of his head.
—-
On the day of filming, you prepare your room as usual by setting out your play outfit. Arriving at your closet, you choose to pull out a black lace bra with matching underwear and a short, white, silk cover-up that ties at the waist. Moving back to your queen-sized bed, you open the bedside drawer to take out the Stain mask you’d been keeping since joining the League. The video is about two villains sharing their first time together, so the mask could help set the scene. Maybe he would enjoy seeing me in this again, too, you thought. You choose to tie it loose around your neck as you look around the room at the lights and camera tripod you set up the night before. Hearing a knock at your bedroom door, you breathe in and out deeply before walking to open it.
“Hey Y/N,” he greets with a smile. He walks to lean on the wall by your bed like normal, “Do you want to talk about anything before starting?”
“Yeah, actually,” you say, following him from the door to sit on the edge of the bed. The hem of your cover-up pulls slightly up your plush thighs, and you catch your partner pretending he didn’t just watch it happen. “I had an idea of how we could start because the rest should come naturally right? I mean, we are both villains… and this is kind of our first time together,” you say.
“Yeah, yeah it should be fine”, he nods quickly. “I’ll be fine with whatever you do to me, uh, whatever you want, you’re the director.” He watches you with wide eyes as you stand from the bed to saunter over to stand in front of his leaning body. You smile at him while reaching to lay your hand on the center or his chest and rub soothing circles to calm his nerves.
You continue to rub up his chest towards his neck and also choose to take one of his hands into your own, “Just know I’m very excited to do this with you, okay? There’s no need to be nervous while I’m here, I promise.” I have to be brave for him, you think. Deciding to make the first move to break the ice, you lean slowly into him and kiss his lips in earnest. Spinner hums into the kiss and pulls you in by the hips. You can already feel the growing bulge in his pants and this was something you normally got to see while working together. Seeing his pants tighten as you’d put on a show in front of the camera was a pleasure, but feeling him rub against your hip sends jolts of extreme heat towards your core. Pulling away before going too far, you notice him clenching your hand tightly.
“Is this just business, Y/N? Tell me, do you actually find me attractive? I need this to be more than it looks,” Spinner admits.
He feels the same way, you yell in your head. You grab his chin and whisper, “Just like the fans, I want to know everything about you, too. Please, show me everything. I want you, Spinner— I-I’ve always wanted you.”
He watches intently as you start to grind your hip into his pants. “F-fuck… I’ll turn the camera on, we should start,” he stutters and slips from between you and the wall to quickly press record.
He hears you giggle as you rush to sit on the edge of the bed again. You pat the space next to you in front of the camera to invite him to sit. Shuichi’s muscular frame dips the cushion next to you as he sits on your right. It’s your moment to do what you’ve always wanted to.
“Let’s go slow, Y/N,” he says putting his hand in the small of your back, “we have time.” You gasp as he decides to take the chance to lean in and kiss you again. So much deeper this time. Your hand goes straight back to its place on his chest, while his free hand travels to lay on your thigh. He squeezes and massages your thigh as if to test if it was alright to move it upwards.
You nod into the kiss and test the waters yourself by pausing to drag your lips down his jaw towards the side of his neck. Shuichi breathes heavily as you start to kiss and suck his tough skin. You mewl in his ear as you feel his hand slide between your thighs, hand underneath your cover-up. His nails lightly brush against your skin.
“Lay on your back,” you softly instruct him. He nods and crawls to the head of the bed to lay down as told. Lizard's eyes stay stuck on your flowing body as you move to stand at the foot of the bed. You’re not too nervous yet, as he’s already seen you completely nude and in more humiliating positions before. However, this felt so different. Slowly pulling the silk tie at your waist, you allow the cover-up to fall off your shoulders. It’s so difficult to look Spinner in the eyes right now.
“Holy shit,” Spinner gasps. Pulling himself up onto his elbows, he says, “Y/N you look, you look really beautiful.”
You try to cover your chest again, not realizing you're being filmed for the world to see your bodies. It's just that, him laying there in front of you feels like the moment isn’t meant for anyone else to see.
You place your hands on the mattress and begin to crawl up your friend’s body, stopping to straddle his waist. Your back stood tall so that the camera and your partner could see your breasts clearly. Shuichi could not take his eyes off your chest, he could probably hear how fast your heart was beating. You took his hands and placed them on your waist.
“Please touch me, Spinner,” you plead. Your core was hovering above him, and you couldn’t wait to sit down on his hard lap. He took your permission immediately and ran his scaled hands up your stomach and waist to reach for your breasts. Both of them being massaged curiously, you couldn’t help but let out a relieved moan.
“Could I-,” he whispers. “Could I take it off, Y/N?” starting again a little louder, also realizing he was on camera. His face felt unnaturally hot as you looked down at him with dark eyes. You bite your lip hard and nod. Shuichi’s arms wrap around your bust to reach for the clasps in the back. You felt yourself instinctually lean forward at his touch, chest lightly touching the front of his face. Once he got the lace garment off, he tossed it to the side and laid back. “You’re wearing Stain’s mask around your neck like that, is it for me?” he questions shyly.
“Yeah,” you giggle, “Everything that I do- do tonight is for you. And only you.” Finally, you sit on his hard bulge while still straddling and start to roll your hips.
“Mmmph,” Spinner moans. Quickly, each one of his hands grabs a side of your hips to guide you even further up and down his lap. He loves your sweet words making him feel like the only man in the world. “Please, give me more, Y/N.”
“I love your skin. I love your handsome face. Your combative talent. Your laugh. Your hands. Everything. I’ll give you all of me soon, don’t worry,” you breathe out. “If it’s ok, I’m going to take your shirt off now,” you state. Luckily, Spinner decided not to wear the plenty of leather belts around his torso today, so it was much easier to lift up his white top and red bandana. Once you saw his face again, your heart warmed at seeing his big toothy smile.
You want the night to be about him. He gives you his all while you touch yourself and talk to a camera in front of him all the time. It’s his turn to whine for the lense. You slowly sink down his torso and throw one leg over the side of his waist so you can kneel in front of the aching tent in his trousers. Without talking, you start to grab at his button and zipper planning to pull them off and go to town. Your wrist is grabbed softly before you can even start.
“Wait, Y/N, I didn’t realize. You don’t know… what I look like. I’m kind of different,” his rough voice stuttering again.
“Spinner… Shuichi, like I said before,” you massage the large mound of hard flesh waiting for you, “I’m so excited to see all of you. I’ll make you feel so good. Would you be comfortable if I go down on you?” He nods slowly and decides to let go of your wrist. Before starting again, you lean into him and give a quick kiss to his lips. You bring both of your hands back to his zipper and pull downwards. Spinner takes control of pulling his pants and underwear down his legs and kicks them off the bed. You were kind of surprised at how fast he did it. Looking at his body in front of you made your cunt clench. It takes you having to rub your thighs together to give yourself some relief. “Wow,” you gasp, “I must be the luckiest girl in the world.” Fuck, he has two cocks, you squeal inside.
“Yeah? But I’ve seen you fill your holes with much more strange things, Y/N,” he says bravely, running his hand through your hair.
You blush hard before lightly smacking your friend’s thigh as his remark. “I bet you I could take them both, babe. First try,” you teased.
Holy shit, he thinks. I’m sure she could… Did she just call me babe? Fuck. “Then go ahead, I’m ready for you now,” he says blushing back.
You giggle again at his attempt to be strong about this. You decide to kneel in between his spread legs and grab one cock into each hand. You lean down and look at him through your lashes as you give one of his pink, throbbing cock’s tip kitten licks. The other hand pumps his second member at a medium pace.
“Yes, please keep going,” Shuichi pleads.
Going faster with your pumping hand, you then focus on your mouth’s actions. You lift off to spit on his weeping cock and then sink back down his member to take more of him in. You continue to please him, bobbing your head up and down as he gripped the sheets on his sides. He squirmed as your pumping hand moved to his tip to rub tight circles into him.
“Shiii,” he’s panting hard now, clenching his fists and eyes to try contain his moans. “I want to be inside of you, Y/N.”
You let go and pop off of his dicks to scramble up his torso again. He grabs your face to kiss you deeply and can taste himself on your tongue. Suddenly, he flips both of you over, now supporting himself above you. “The masks stay on, right?,” you giggle.
“Right,” he responds, “I want to take these off now though, is that okay?” You notice him pulling the thin fabric off of your hip, so you help him slide them down your legs before he can say anything. Spinner takes the lead by spreading your legs open wide so that he could kneel between them. Lining one of his cocks up to your entrance, he takes the other in a hand. “I know you can take both at the same time Y/N, but since you’re not warmed up…,” he pauses, pressing his cock slowly into your cunt.
You breathe in quickly as his size surprises you. “Fuuu, Spinner…,” you mewl.
He lets go of the cock outside of you to hump your inner thigh with it as he rocks his hips even more into your pussy. “Damn it, you feel so good.” He continues his motions while you moan his name. You can’t help but reach out to wrap your arms around his neck to bring him in closer. “God...You have no clue how long I’ve been waiting to do this with you,” he grunts into your ear. If the audio could pick it up, your audience would surely believe he was the best actor in the world, but all that was said today is true.
You’ve longed to hear those words. “Yes, yes, yes please keep going, fuck me, Shuichi!” you moaned out. Pulling away for a second to look into his eyes, you knew you had to ask, “C-could you put both in now?” He quickly turned your wish into reality by grasping his loose cock and slowing his pace to push the other one inside. “Ahh, oh yeah,” you both moan. “This is the most full I-I’ve ever felt,” you wince. “It feels so good!” Both of your faces contorted into different pleasured expressions as you reach your limit after some time.
“Fuck, you feel so tight, Y/N, do you want to cum?” You nod quickly at his question. Spinner spread your legs further to pump himself more deep and quick into your sopping cunt.
“Fuck, uh, you’re gonna make me cum, Spinner, please!” you yell. You felt yourself tighten completely for an instant before your whole entire body let itself go in ecstasy. You felt as if your body was on fire as your partner continued his passionate handling of you. You could hear him groan more unevenly than before, knowing his end was coming up as well.
“Y/N, could I cum on your face?” He pleaded. You nod and shift up the bed as he climbed to straddle your hips. You watched, panting from your high, as he pumps both of his cocks together quickly while hunching over. His eyes were closed, so you decided to roll out your tongue to catch anything you could. “Ok, shit, I’m gonna-,” he groans. He opens his eyes to see you beneath him staring intently with your tongue out. He gives one more pull before coming into your mouth and onto the rest of your face.
You both spend a minute riding out the heaviness you felt in your stomachs. Then, Spinner jumps up off the bed to turn off the camera and rush to your bathroom for a damp washcloth. Returning, he hands it to you like after your usual filming hours together.
“Can you do it tonight?” You ask, hopeful.
“Uh, yeah, sure,” he responds softly. He takes his time to wipe your face and then moves to your thighs to clean up.
You want to show him how to do it properly, but it was sweeter to watch him fumble around with your limbs. You liked him just as he was.
A/N: Hope you enjoyed it! I had no clue how to end it lol.

This is a 2017 interview done by a fan for the fansite, Green Day Authority. It’s super disjointed and fan interviews never ask tough questions, but eh.
Recently, we asked Green Day's management if it would be possible to get an exclusive interview for GDA, our first ever. After some coordination, it was agreed that I could interview them in Omaha (a show I had already planned to attend). I found out on Wednesday afternoon that I would be interviewing them on Saturday, but fortunately, I had already been preparing a list of questions in case it worked out. Before I go any further, I'll tell you that I had a LOT more questions on my list than there was time for. So, if you're wondering why I didn't ask something in particular, it's probably because we ran out of time. That is the only thing I would change about my whole experience if I had the opportunity. The arrangement was that one of the tour managers would meet me at the back entrance of the arena before sound check. After going through two layers of security, that's exactly what happened. I was the only non-crew person in sound check (!) and it simply felt surreal to be in that position. I enjoyed it greatly but was, of course, also thinking about how the upcoming interview would go. I wanted to represent GDA and the fan community in a way that would not leave a bad impression while also getting some good discussion from the guys. After sound check, I was walked back to a room with a couch and a few chairs. I was able to get comfortable and had some help to set up my recording equipment — thanks again to Lauren Banjo and Daniel, my son, for helping me get exactly the right device for recording the interview. In just a few minutes, in walked Billie, Mike and Tre. I have to say that, in all the times I've seen them, they have never looked better. They seemed relaxed, happy, and bursting with good health. They all sat down, and we got started. Aside from running out of time (though, to be honest, it would have taken hours to work through all my questions), I'm reasonably pleased with the way it all turned out. The guys were so incredibly nice and seemed to be totally engaged in the moment we were all sharing together. They really thought about their answers and seemed to enjoy the discussion. Here's the first installment of the interview — we talked about music, touring, and special shows. I did you all a favor and removed a lot of my rambling when I was asking the questions. Enjoy! "J'net: Guys, you work so hard, and we see how hard you work. During shows, you give so much of your emotion, yourselves, and your life energy to what you do. What keeps you going and keeps you so passionate about what you're doing? Mike: You said it, 'passion.' We only know how to do this one way — give 100%. It's just driven into us, I guess. Tre: It's the way we're wired. Mike: The music moves us the same way with the energy from the crowd. Billie: I agree. We love what we do. I think there've even been times when I thought, 'Maybe I'll take it easy tonight,' and then as soon as you hit the stage, it's just 'All systems go!' It's just a natural response for me. Really no other way to explain it. Mike: I always think, 'I don't know if I'll always be able to give what 100% is today, but I'll always give 100% of what I have to offer.' I don't think these engines know how to run any differently. J'net: Well, it's awesome. Your fans appreciate it so much. I wish you guys could just sometimes sit out in line, y'know? We get in line as early as we can and we compare notes ... "Well, we're driving from Kansas City as soon as the show's over..." Mike: You guys should film some of that. We never get to see it, it's cool! Film some of that interaction and maybe post some of that stuff too, it's rad! Billie & Tre: Yeah! J'net: [thinks to self: challenge accepted!] I'd be glad to do that, yeah. I mean, everybody would, even the people who know how to do that [technical stuff] … like Billie, he's pretty good with all the Facebook Lives and Instagram. Billie: Yeah, I'm getting pretty awesome — Billie Joe Zuckerberg! J'net: Right … 'Now where's the off button?...' Billie: Thank God for two young sons, man! They can tell you everything. Mike: I have to call my wife [laughs]. My wife's still young, she knows how to do that shit! J'net: Music is an emotional experience, and some of your songs are so emotional. Do you ever feel overcome by the emotion when you're performing, or are you somehow in performance mode so you can rise above it? Billie: I definitely go there. Like that line 'I'm like a son that was raised without a father,' — that's a button-pusher for me. Also with Forever Now, and also lately with playing '21 Guns' acoustic … when I get emotional is when I hear people singing along — when I hear voices that loud. I think with Green Day, we create an atmosphere that's as close to a European crowd that you can get — with people singing along, almost like a soccer anthem. And I love seeing people who are normally self-conscious when they lose it. I try to push people to just lose it when they come to our shows. Some nights, people are so pent up with energy, they don't even know that they have inside them. And I try to get people to dance like no one's watching and sing like no one's listening — just go for it! J'net: Do you have favorite show moments that you like to think back on? Billie: Smashing my guitar against the Subaru just the other night was pretty fun. [laughs] That's a first. I've never done that before. Mike: There are favorite moments of each show. We go backstage after the show, and we talk about all the rad things that happened. Billie: There's so many different things that we see going on in the crowd. There was a guy that was like an ex-hippie that was in the house the other night, I think in Portland. He was in the back, and I could see him just dancing and singing all night long. He was probably about the same age as my brother — about 65, and it was fun to just watch him. That's the kind of stuff I like to remember. " Watch for the next installment of the interview! We’ll also be sharing more of the audio from our favorite moments.
The second part of our interview focuses on the band's latest movie project, 'Turn It Around: The Story of East Bay Punk.' They helped produce it with filmmaker and longtime friend, Corbett Redford. The day after the Omaha show, my son Daniel and I started the drive back home to Tulsa, but stopped in Kansas City to see the movie. We went to a great independent theater there, Screenland at Tapcade, and when it was time for the movie to start, we settled ourselves in for a fascinating evening. There's so much to absorb in this movie, but it's compelling all the way through. There is a great deal of history that is lovingly captured and discussed. We feel we need to see it again and again, so It's good to know that a deal is in the works to distribute for home viewing, and that, according to Corbett Redford, "the DVD, Blu-Ray is being worked on, designed, mastered and readied for manufacturing." So many people were interviewed for this movie that I couldn't possibly list them all. The interviews were often just as interesting, funny, or emotional as the vintage footage of events from the beginnings of East Bay punk. It was a touching movie with many emotional moments (at least for us). Two or three of the people who were interviewed in the movie came close to tears as they were talking about the past and their connection to the famed 924 Gilman Street. For Green Day fans, as well as fans of many of the other bands involved in those early days of East Bay punk, there is rare and wonderful vintage footage that really gives a feel for what those early days were like. The writing by Corbett Redford and Anthony Marchitiello is exceptionally fine — it tells a story that could have been overwhelmingly complex in an articulate, accessible, and moving way. The narration by Iggy Pop, the animations (credited to Tim Armstrong, J. Bonner, and Alex Koll), the cinematography and photographic direction by Greg Schneider, and the hand lettering (credited to Aaron Cometbus) are simply delightful and absolutely enrich the content of the movie. I loved the way some of the newer interview footage had a "distressed" look to be more compatible with the footage it was matched with in the film. As Corbett said when I mentioned this to him, "The distressed VHS happened as our crew filmed EVERY interview with an old VHS camera! So that wasn't an effect, it was real! We decided as a crew that VHS and black and white Xerox were going to be our two main go-to 'themes' - so Greg went and bought a VHS camera, and voila!" There were obviously a lot of eyes on this film making sure that every little detail was as perfect as could be. There's no question in my mind that it was made with hearts full of love. Here's part two of our interview: "J'net: 'Turn it Around' is getting such incredible response from most reviewers and many in the punk community. Do you feel more acceptance coming from the community than you may have felt previously? Is there a partial 'return from 86'? Mike: The spirit of the movie is that it was made by the people in the community, and if you took Green Day out of it, it's still an unbelievable documentary. We basically stepped aside and let the movie get made the way it should be made. We realized that should be the anchor — the beginning, that's the beginning. [We wanted] for people to understand the different ingredients it took to make where we are and … to make the beginning… Billie: For us, when I was talking to Corbett, it was — 'Let's do a documentary that could inspire the next generation to create their own scene and not just talk about how you had to be there.' Because almost every scene documentary I've ever seen has a 'glory days' thing about it, where, with this one, you see the people like Michelle Gonzalez, who's a teacher and an author, and Miranda July, who’s a filmmaker and artist, and there are people who are activists, still playing music and active in the community. We approached it like, 'Let's not turn this into a piss and vinegar fest.' Billie: And if it wasn't for Tim Yohannon, even though we had big differences in the past, we wouldn't have had a place to play because he, with other people, created and made Gilman Street happen - and that I'm super grateful for. So if there's a story that you watch out for, it's what Tim Yohannon has done for the bay area scene and globally also. J'net: And Corbett did a great job realizing the vision of the movie. Mike: Corbett kind of did the impossible. You talk about a bunch of people in the scene — you know everybody's in that scene because we're all latchkey kids and come from some fucked up background, right? So then you have to get all the bands to agree to put their music on it this many years later. We had no doubt that he's an incredibly intelligent person and an artful person, but he fuckin' did it. Tre: He's always been super resourceful, and it's kind of like now he's all grown up. Mike: All we had to do was talk him off the ledge a couple times. I mean, we'd go in his office, and it looked like 'A Beautiful Mind.' There's writing everywhere and he's like (Mike demonstrates hyperventilating). It started off he didn't have a beard, and then he turned into Father Time. J'net: Did the fact that he's so well-respected in the community and such a genuine person help him to get buy-in from the people who participated? Mike: And the other people he recruited, like Kamala Parks and Anthony (Marchitiello) and Eggplant and Tim Armstrong, are highly respected and helping to make this thing. And it's like, 'Wait a minute, this isn't like a Warner Brothers movie. This is people who were actually in the scene making it.' And when they would vouch for him, it became even more helpful." We're pretty sure we spotted a cameo of Mr. Redford himself, but I won't put a spoiler here by hinting where to watch for him! For the same reason, I'm not going to tell you details of my favorite parts of the movie. When the opportunity arises, you should pick out your own favorites, and next time we're sitting in line for a Green Day show, we can compare notes. Bottom line, whether you watch the movie because you're interested in the captivating history of East Bay punk or because you want to see how Green Day got their start or both, you aren't likely to be disappointed. The movie is great entertainment but also left me inspired to be the best I can be at whatever I choose to do. The passion that went into the scene way back then, and into the making of the movie itself, left its mark on me. I hope you'll find that it leaves you feeling the same way.
In part two, we talked to the band about the early days at Gilman Street and the new movie, 'Turn it Around: The Story of East Bay Punk.' "J’net: From there, Green Day has come so far. What were you dreaming about back then, have you achieved it, and do you have any dreams you haven’t realized yet — things you still want to do? Tre: Pizza! J’net: Really? You haven’t had pizza yet? [Everyone laughs — these guys are SO polite!] Mike: Back then it was like, 'Can we get a show? Can we get into Gilman?' That’s a goal. It’s always like a series of goals – like 'Let’s get a tour.' 'Oh my gosh, what would it be like to play that one club there?' Maybe it’s a different town — or Europe! 'Let’s go to Europe and tour Europe!' There’s always another thing to be done. We just like to keep it exciting. Even live — even live, if we feel it's not exciting and not eventful or we're just going through the motions, we'll do something to change that because we like to stay in the moment, too. Life should be exciting. J’net: [to Tre] When you gave the drumsticks to that little kid last night (in Kansas City) … Mike: I did that. But Tre does every night anyway. One of us will always do it." Backstory: In Kansas City, there was a little girl on her dad’s shoulders throughout much of the show, although security tried multiple times to get him to put her down. At one point, Mike’s bass tech came into the security pit and leaned through to hand her a set of drumsticks. "Mike: She was hitting right on the beat with them on her dad’s shoulders! A lot of people know this, but every night Tre hides a pair of drumsticks under a seat. J’net: Do you always know if somebody finds them? Tre: Well, I put a hashtag on them and sometimes they'll go and put a picture with #TreCoolsHiddenSticks if they found them. J'net: I would just want to know — if no one posted, did they get found? I would have to go back and see if they're still there. [laughs] Tre: Somebody will find them. I'll tape them under the seats. Mike: Eventually. Someone will find them — like at an Usher show. [laughs] J'net: Or a hockey game. [Laughter] J’net: I got to go to the Hall of Fame Induction and the House of Blues show. What a show! I was beating up on the people next to me, because every time something else exciting happened I was [grabbing people and shaking them], "Oh my God! Oh my God!" That was incredible. I want to ask how that felt, but I’m sure you all thought it felt incredible. But could you ever have dreamed that you would be there? And what gave you the idea to come out as Sweet Children, and have Tim [Armstrong of Rancid] come out and sing with y’all and … to celebrate it in that way? Billie: I think it was all about 'bringing it all back home,' to quote Bob Dylan. It was like, 'Let’s make this as fun as possible.' Just have a great time and do everything you can … there’s so much tension with a lot of bands that have gone in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame that you literally can’t get them to be on the same stage at the same time. And someone will stay home. And for us, it was the opposite of that. I’d rather seize the moment to remember how we got there. You start off when you’re a kid in a band, and it’s the most exciting thing in the world. And it’s so important to inspire people to understand that it IS the most exciting thing in the world. J’net: Do y’all listen to any kind of music that you think would surprise people to know that you liked it? Mike: All kinds of music. I just like good songs. I don’t care if it’s country — or the other night Tre went out to a jazz club, and then Jason and I went out to the same jazz club after they’d left — the same jazz club, and we didn’t even know they went. And we saw an unbelievable band there in Kansas City. Tre: I like German AND Italian opera. J’net: Do you really? Seriously? Tre: [Laughs] J’net: Oh ... but THAT would have surprised people. Tre: No … just the German. [laughs] J’net: Well, I’m the Italian fan, myself. Tre: It’s all Greek to me! Greek music. Billie: I’m kind of an audiophile. I like to go deep with finding obscure power-pop bands... Tre: Billie makes the best playlists. And he’s the best DJ. Billie: I just read this book called Never a Dull Moment ['Never a Dull Moment: 1971 The Year That Rock Exploded,' by David Hepworth] and it’s all about the music that happened in 1971, so I put together a playlist of all [that music]. I like getting into to doing my own … which is funny, because everybody's doing playlists and putting them on Spotify and stuff like that, and I do playlists and share them with my friends. Mike: She's got to hook you up with about a million more friends to share it with. [Laughter] Mike: Yeah, when we hit the playlist side of things, he’s ready. Billie: Yeah, and it’s all kinds of different stuff, whether it's like Joni Mitchell and Linda Ronstadt, to like ... Foghat and T-Rex. It’s fun to listen to. Especially back then, there was a certain amount of — people were uninhibited. If you listen to Marvin Gaye singing 'What’s Going On?,' there’s nothing self-conscious about songs like that and what was going on back then. I think nowadays, music is so much more visual or something. Some of the stuff from the past is just inspiring. J’net: And you have lots of influences, I can hear them in your music. There are little bits that sound like country and little bits that sound like different genres. Did you get that from your family, or was it all around you, or what? Billie: Well, it was all around me with my family — and I think when I was a kid I just always wanted to be the one to listen to something different. So, when kids were listening to Kool and the Gang’s 'Celebration,' I was listening to AC/DC and Van Halen, or trying to be the first in my high school to discover punk rock, and alternative stuff, too. Nobody in Rodeo had a clue who the Replacements and Hüsker Dü was. I was like the only punk kid in my high school. And John Swett [High School] was ... 400 people, 350 at the most. Mike: Is that what it was? I thought it was a little more than that. That’s still a lot of people, though, when you think about it. Billie: Yeah, there's 80 people in that graduating class. Mike: And then there was this one kid in that high school [who was punk]. Billie: And half of them actually graduated. [Laughs]"
This is the fourth and final installment of our interview with Green Day. In part three, we talked to the band about their past goals, and the musical roots of each of the guys. I have also included some things that were not part of the interview itself, or our recording. At the beginning of the transcription below, I knew our time was running out — and during the recording, we were packing up. I was throwing on my “Still Breathing” shirt, as I call it, for my photo with the band. But I just kept talking and asking questions the whole time to make the most of every second. "J’net: So, I have one more quick question, and this is just my own personal thing that I’ve always wondered — when Mike sang the second half of 'American Eulogy,' did you [Billie] write it with that in mind, did it just happen, I mean … was it something personal to Mike, because the way [Mike] sang it and kind of spit those lyrics out, it sounds like it’s very … something [deciding to stop rambling on with this never ending question and let someone answer] … Billie: I mean, I just wrote it and asked him if he wanted to sing it. [laughs] Mike: I think you need to sing to what the lyrics are calling for. I tend to sing ... like a little girl sometimes. [laughs] J’net: Not in THAT song. Mike: Yeah, but I was conscious that, 'This song isn't for singing like a little girl.' Or if it is, it's a little girl with attitude. Billie: If you think about 'Outsider' by the Ramones, and how DeeDee sang the bridge to it, it just kind of makes more sense. It just kind of comes from the band. And what else? 'I Was There' – Mike sang the bridge on that. J'net: Yeah. Well, you [Mike] sing that 'American Eulogy' like it was written just for you. Just made me wonder … Mike: [Hamming it up] Why, thank you! A friend of mine wrote that just for me! … 'Hey Billie, I got an idea! We can go ahead and take five.' J'net: So, I'm getting a sense that it's time for you [Tre] to have your pizza that you've never had before. Any last things you guys want to say to the readers of Green Day Authority? Mike: Just that we appreciate them and that they should be good to each other and look out for one another online and offline. But, we appreciate the hell out of them, cause that's our community. They're fuckin' rad. We'll see [them] on tour. Billie: I think for me as a musician, it's always important to be a fan first. Because I'm obviously a big fan of the people I like to listen to and stuff like that. So with that said, [we're] like-minded and kindred-spirits. Tre: In the words of the wild stallions, 'Be excellent to each other!'" Thus ended the interview proper, though there was more conversation, as I asked the guys to take a quick photo with me (the first time I've ever asked for a photo with any of them ... the wait was so worth it given how the photo turned out). Then, touring sound engineer and photographer Chris Dugan reminded me that I had a t-shirt to show the band. It was from Jack Yates, Omaha-based editor extraordinaire for GDA, who has been taking all my scribblings and making them look beautiful on the site. His vintage shirt was from Green Day's first tour — the band had screen printed it by hand back in the day. He thought they might like to see it, and maybe even sign it for him (which they graciously did). Tre sarcastically joked that it was really only six months old. Mike laughed, and said he still has the original screen print stencil for that shirt. While the guys were signing Jack's shirt, I was throwing on my "Still Breathing" shirt, which you can see in the photo. The guys loved, it which prompted me to tell them that it's from the Woody Guthrie Museum in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where I'm from. Mike excitedly told me that his wife's family and Billie's whole family were also from Oklahoma. This prompted Billie to tell a story, which really delighted me. The backstory is that he began to tell this tale at the Tulsa Green Day show back in March, but didn't make it all the way to the brilliant ending. We'd talked about this during the car trip there, and Billie just spontaneously answered our question! "Billie: Yeah, my mom's from Sperry, Oklahoma. Oh, we went — this is a funny story. When we were there, I was trying to find where my mom's house was — it was like, I think, about 15 minutes outside of Tulsa. And we went into a high school, and all the people would talk about was like native burial grounds and stuff like that. So we're just looking for this one in particular. So we went into Sperry High School and talked to the administrators, and I come out and all of a sudden it was like, it clicked [snaps fingers], they were like, 'Oh my God, he's here!' and they run out and one goes, 'You're either … Bruno Mars … or the guy in Green Day!' [Laughter] Billie: 'Bruno! Bruno! Bruno Joe!' Tre: [Laughs] 'Bruno Joe.' Billie: And then they sent me all these hats, because they're the Pirates, so I got all these cool pirate hats." Now, as they were still signing Jack's shirt, and I was still "primping" for my first ever Green Day photo, we had this hilarious conversation: "J'net: Do y'all know about all the mis-heard lyrics in your songs? Billie: Mis-heard? Mike: Misinterpreted, you mean? J'net: No, like people hear them and they think you're saying something else! Tre: Oh, that's funny! J'net: Like, 'Gotta know the enemy … raw ham.' Billie: Raw ham? [Hilarity ensues] Tre: Raw ham. J'net: And, 'Somebody take my pants, I think they're falling off … into a state of regression.' Mike: [Singing] 'Somebody take my pants, I think they're falling off, into a state of regression.' [Laughing] Billie: That's amazing. That's a good one. J'net: And then, my son one day and said to me he hears, [singing ... YES, I sang in front of Green Day!] 'Dump truck! Color me stupid!' Billie: Oh, dump truck! [laughs] J'net: British people hear, 'I wore cologne, I wore cologne' [in 'Boulevard of Broken Dreams']. Billie: Oh, wow … J'net: And in 'Welcome to Paradise' — 'Pay attention to the cracked streets and the broken gnomes.' Tre: Scary. Scary. [Laughs] Billie: Nice. I've heard that one before. I think I've seen a meme. J'net: I just wondered if … because when a new song comes out, before the lyrics are published, we're all trying to figure out, "What are they saying? What are they saying?" Billie: Next time we're just going to write them out different. They'll be like just totally different lyrics. Tre: We'll do fucked up lyrics! J'net: Oh yeah, right. That would be great. Tre: We'll get like six-year-olds to say what they think the lyrics are, and then we'll have that be the lyrics. J'net: That would be great! Or me, because my hearing is shot from so many Green Day shows!" This was where our recording ended. At some point during the discussion that continued un-recorded, I told the guys that this (the Omaha show) might be my last show for a while. I said, "A dear friend of mine has a ticket for me to the Rose Bowl show, but I don't know if I'll be able to afford to get there, so this could be it for a while." After that, we prepared to take the photo, which Chris Dugan (the band's sound guy and photographer) kindly offered to take for us — so it wasn't a selfie, after all! Mike suggested that I sit in the chair, and they'd all stand around me. Of course, I can't even express how sweet this was. Then, because I'd been talking to superfan Fran Green in line that day, I said, "Do you know that girl Fran with long brown hair who's always right in the corner of the barricade?" (I motioned with my hands to show where Fran usually stands). And here's how I remember that conversation going: "Billie: Oh, I know her, she's great! She always wants to get up and sing or something, but I really like her energy right there in the corner. Mike: Which one is she? Billie: She has a lip piercing. Mike: Oh yeah! [smiling] J'net: Well, today is her 50th show! Billie: Her 50th really? J'net: Yes, and she's travelling from the 1st through the 27th and not staying in any hotels — just sleeping on the street or in the car. Billie and Mike: WOW. Tre: Sounds like somebody needs a shower!" Finally, my time with Green Day was coming to an end. I thanked them all, and they walked out. Then, as I was about to leave the room, Tre came back with his wife Sara and introduced me to her. She is just as gorgeous and sweet as her online personality seems. We chatted for a few minutes. I told her we love her because of how happy she makes 'this guy' — I point at Tre. To say both their faces were beaming would be a terrible understatement. Just looking at how happy they are together made my heart melt. As they were leaving, Tre stuck his head back in the room and said, "See you at the Rose Bowl." So now, I guess I'll have to find a way to make it to the Rose Bowl. Hope to see you all there! After all this, I was walked out on to the arena floor and asked to choose my spot. I was just dumfounded with the entire barrier to choose from … don't we all wish that could somehow happen at every show?!?! Later, after everyone came in, I couldn't see Fran in her usual spot, and I was just so disappointed, because I thought … knowing the band, they would probably do something special for her if she'd been there. Well, Billie managed to find her on the catwalk, wished her happy 50th and then started singing "Happy Birthday" to her! Hahaha! Tre also gave her an autographed drum head the next night in St. Louis, and I see that she got on stage before her tour was over. The guys are just the sweetest and love their fans so much!

i hope you never stress out about this blog because at the end of the day it’s just fan content and if these people really wanted it that badly they’d make their own. if a fan blog turns into a chore you’re not going to enjoy even the content on its own anymore. take care of yourself ❤️
with that being said, with as much views as they did/still get, why do you think there’s so little fan content? i don’t even see that much demand for it which is so bizarre because they have such unique personalities/dynamics you’d think people would be eating it up (not to say that there isn’t a good amount, just not as much as one would expect)
this is excluding stuff like art contests for obvious reasons lol
well, thanks, anon! <3 if i feel any pressure while being in this blog, is because i myself have been in situations where i send asks to slightly more popular blogs lol and it feels bad to get ignored. while i don't want others to feel like that, it's also tiring to see an ask worded exactly like a regular textpost and be like: "what do i reply? what can i even say to this? do i go out of my way to use the little free time i have to search for the content and include it? do i ignore it and make the person who sent the ask feel bad?". before i made my own blogs and posts it hurt to hear more popular blogs say "ya know... you can MAKE posts yourself right?", but now i see that it's always the better option. it's just... sometimes annoying that people don't get it. especially when i think that people went out of their way to send me asks about something and i can't find any way to let them know i see them and appreciate it. it's BLEGH. like i'm just another fan why do i even feel like this LOL but anyways...
about the fandom thing... well. i think a lot of people have this perception that the crewfu is like, as well-known as other streamer groups, but i completely digress. if i compare it to mcyt, for example, it's a completely different audience. most of the people in the crewfu are on their late 20s/early 30s and not only they come from very different backgrounds (steve had sp7, hafu streamed hearthstone, dk with fortnite, dumbdog was in a different group of people, etc) but also in some way, they've already passed their "prime". like, i don't think steve is nowhere near as popular as he was during sp7, hafu used to get thousands of viewers daily, etc. which you know, it's totally fine, but it means that at the end of the day these are a bunch of not-so-well-known streamers, who haven't even had this group for more than a year, and don't even play together that regularly anymore. in a sense, you could also say the crewfu has had their prime, although i think their irl streams will do wonders for them.
personally, i see the crewfu more like a newer, more disperse otv. bc otv has been going around for quite a long time, and they don't only room together as friends having a fun time together. they really care about the business side of things and it's necessary to keep the group alive and the content flowing. the crewfu, on the other hand, are simply people who found each other and a new audience to please and want to keep that for as long as they can. even comparatively, i don't really think otv is THAT famous, and the fan content isn't that preeminent either, especially if we go back to mcyt and their fandoms. so to me it's easy to understand why the crewfu hasn't taken off quite yet - and probably they never really will, sadly. and well, the less people on fandom, the less content there is for it.
also, coming from a person who's been in a lot of irl fandoms with primarily young female audiences, i have to say this: audiences like that are drawn to mlm pairings. and... that's how it is and has always been. and i see a huge difference between the friendships and dynamics between adults on their late 20s/early 30s, vs the chaotic interactions that happen within male friends on their early 20s. like i don't think i have to explain how young male friendships work to you LOL if you've ever been in highschool, you should know. and these are the dynamics that capture people's attention, and not only make them stop for a second and think "aww, that's sweet", but make them go "holy shit i HAVE to make content about this." and that's not really something that happens in the crewfu because, again, most of these people are already dating/engaged/married, and if not they're adults who have adult-like friendships with each other (if that even makes any sense lmao). and because the more popular pairings like 5up/steve and steve/dumbdog don't really capitalize on this aspect of their dynamics (and why would they?) there's not really a call to action from fandom to make content around these dynamics. and this is also the reason why i think mcyt have such a good reach and an active audience. they have both the formula to get a big audience AND a bunch of fun friendship dynamics.
(i will specify, this is not to say that mcyt are "queerbaiting" their audience or whatever. those claims are 100% bullshit as 1) real people can't queerbait because there's not really a defined way to be queer or straight, and they don't owe you a coming out for you to feel satisfied, and 2) these are literally ordinary male friendships. nothing else.)

The Writer - Chapter One
Tumblr media
                                         C H A P T E R   O N E
Summary: Darcy Lewis finds a temp job with S.H.I.E.L.D. until she can work with Jane again. Data entry and organizing aren’t her favorite things, but she sucks it up. When she finds out the Avengers have a Fan Club and an email account with hundreds of unread letters, she figures no one will care if she <i>pretends</i> to be the Avengers, right? <i>Right</i>?!
Characters: Darcy Lewis, Jane Foster
Warnings: Curse words. Obscene levels of cheese being consumed.
                                                 *~*~*~*~*
“... Elvis, do you want a cookie?”
The growling response from the Siamese feline sounded in Darcy Lewis’ ear, signaling the end of her favorite podcast. She lifted her coffee to her lips as she walked down the silent hallway, mind already overwhelmed by the task ahead of her. The door she was looking for was at the end of the corridor, the last door on her left, and she tried not to think of how if she were in trouble, there’d be no one there to hear her scream. Just like Aliens, her inner voice mused.
Maybe it was time to stop listening to murder podcasts while alone in creepy, dimly lit, ignored, far-flung reaches of the building.
She juggled the things in her hands – a bag full of post-it notes, highlighters, and file folders, but also her coffee, laptop, iPod – and pulled the keys she’d just been given from her pocket. It took two tries to get the key to slide in completely- she wasn’t sure whether it was tight due to not being used or a problem with humidity - but when she was finally successful, she took a deep breath, closed her eyes, pushed open the door, then reached out to flip on the light switch.
Please don’t be covered in spiders. Please, please don’t be covered in spiders...
Squinting open one eye, and then the other, Darcy directed her gaze over everything, taking a first impression of the space. There were three desks, but she only knew that because she could see their legs in the yellow-tinted lights. Their surfaces were covered in boxes. In fact, boxes were everywhere. They were full, and in some cases overflowing, with a mishmash of papers. She could make out dates on the sides of the boxes, and her eyes widened when she realized she was looking at decades worth of random paperwork that needed to be sorted, catalogued, copied, and digitized.
“Welp,” Darcy breathed outward, her shoulders dropping, “at least I still have healthcare.”
She spent the next three hours dragging boxes from all over the room, grouping the same years together in an effort to organize what was obviously the ‘junk drawer’ of S.H.I.E.L.D.. As far as she could tell, there was no rhyme or reason to everything that’d been gathered; there was nothing confidential for her to stumble across (she didn’t have the security clearance for such things), but looking at a receipt for a single glazed donut from Randy’s Donuts circa 1998, she couldn’t help but think she’d just been given busy work.
With Jane Foster’s newer, deeper, more clandestine role within S.H.I.E.L.D., Darcy knew she was lucky to even stay on the payroll. Until she could get the security clearance to work with Jane, Darcy was going to do the best she could with what she’d been given. And what she’d been given was a room filled with things other people hadn’t cared about. Others might have called the task tedious and boring, but Darcy found comfort in the work. She couldn’t help the Avengers fight, but she sure as shit could organize their petty cash withdrawals.
After an entire morning and afternoon spent getting organized, Darcy was left with piles of documents that could start their journey toward digitization. She felt especially accomplished at the amount of work she’d done on her first day, considering the mess she’d had before her, and as the day drew to a close, she could feel the tiredness settle into her bones. She didn’t really have a supervisor to check in with, so when her stomach began to growl and make its displeasure known, she began to gather her things.
She’d just turned off the lights and began to close the door when a flash of pink caught her eye. Darcy flipped the light back on with a frown, not remembering seeing the solo but of paper before. She dumped the stuff from her arms onto the (newly cleaned) desk top, and snatched the note from the ground. Squinting, she tried to understand the chicken scratch scrawled on it with blue ink. When she realized she was looking at an email address and password, her eyebrows shot up toward her hairline.
Firstly, who the hell just keeps their login information on a post-it note? Secondly, what the hell?
The email address appeared to be ‘[email protected]’ and the password was a random assortment of letters and numbers. Darcy stared at the pink note, her eyebrows furrowing, chewing on her lower lip. She wasn’t sure what to do with the information, so she stuffed the post-it into her bag and re-gathered her things. She had the weekend ahead of her, and the office filled with randomness would have to wait until Monday.

Request:  hi there! i feel weird requesting a sequel to this one since it’s so recent, but i loved it so much and i love your celebration so: do you think you could do more in the Horror Movie (Right There On My TV) universe? maybe a sequel where they’re all settling into the more serious/newer aspects of the relationship, or ben and reader missing joe when he has to go back… or literally anything lol it was so perfect and i’m so starved for bxrxj content and the way you wrote them was so perfect!!
Pairing: Ben Hardy x F!Reader x Joe Mazzello
Warnings: Angst city my dudes, implied sex, one mention of daddy kink but nothing explicit, it’s really just new relationship woes and adjustments.
Words: 7851
A/N: Written for my 1000 Follower Celebration . I was so so glad to get a request for more bxrxj because I just adored writing them but I wasn’t sure what to do with them next. Halfway through plotting out this one I came up with a concept for a third part as well so, keep an eye out for that lmao

It was quiet when you woke, the morning air crisp and still though you felt overly warm from where you lay between the two boys. Your boys. The previous night’s confession came back to you along with the sore muscles and satisfaction left over from the reward you’d earned. Carefully, so as not to wake either of them, you disentangled yourself and scooted out of bed. It was while you were in the kitchen making coffee that Ben emerged, hair mussed and eyes still scrunched up against the morning light.  “Morning,” you said softly, unable to keep the smile from your face, “you want one?”  “Please,” he pushed his hair out of his face as he looked at you, “you beat me to it.”  “The coffee?”  “No, last night. The thing you said,”  “The whole I love you thing?”  “You meant it right? Because I was- that’s what I was trying to say when Joe was off looking for the blindfold but I-I wasn’t…I couldn’t quite bring myself to say it. In case you didn’t.”  “I meant it, Ben.”  “Okay good,” he sighed in relief as he accepted the mug you were handing him, dropping a peck to your lips as he did.  “D’you think Joe meant it too?” you hadn’t thought anything of it last night but you were hit by a sudden pang of worry, “It wasn’t just because he was caught up in the moment or anything like that?”  “He meant it. Me and him stayed up talking a bit last night, after you fell asleep. Said he’d been wanting to say it for a while but didn’t want to ruin things if we weren’t on the same page. The only question now is, what does it mean for all of us?”  “I don’t know. Guess I didn’t really think this part through.”  Ben hummed as both of you took a sip from your respective mugs, thinking things over.   “Well, we’ve never really labelled anything before, right? Do we have to start now?”  “I s’pose not,” he still looked concerned.  “Unless you or Joe want to, what’s wrong?”  Ben bit his lip and then took another sip of coffee, stalling, “Do you think this could be a bad idea?”  “You mean the three of us being together?”  “Yeah. I don’t know I’ve just… I’ve had my concerns for a little while. Nothing serious just, like, a couple things in the back of my head. But if this is going to be a real thing now then they become real concerns.”  “What sort of concerns?”  “Well, with me and Joe being actors, like,” he paused and sighed, “Bo Rhap took off and it’s opened a lot of doors for us both, 6 Underground and this thing joe’s working on and everything else, and that’s great but it also means we’re getting a bit more attention than before and I know we don’t have to label anything but if the press got hold of it they would and they’d probably spin it into something weird or bad. And then on the other hand there’s fans and stuff and that could end up with all of us getting unwanted messages that are either really negative or proclaiming us as some sort of representation we aren’t necessarily aiming to be. And I know me and Joe have made our peace with living in the limelight and having people be constantly interested in our personal lives, you don’t get into Hollywood without thinking about it at least a little. But you didn’t. I don’t want this to backfire and get you caught up in something we can’t control. What happens if someone hacks our phones and finds our messages? Or if we go visit Joe in the US and the paparazzi get photos of you kissing both of us or something like that?”  “Neither of you are quite that famous,”  “I’m serious, Y/N. There’s a big-” Ben stopped and looked towards the doorway as Joe joined you.  “Couldn’t wait for me?” he said as he made his way to the bench, pulling down his own mug from the cupboard.  “Sorry. Mostly just been filling Y/N in on what we talked about last night. The,” Ben pointedly looked back at you, “big risks involved.”  “And I’m trying to tell Ben the risks aren’t as big as he’s worried they are.”  “Y/N, come on,”  “Joe can you back me up?”  “Awww our first argument,” Joe laughed until he turned and caught sight of Ben’s face, “fine. Y/N, I’m sorry but I gotta agree with Ben here. There are definite risks and we need to discuss them.”  “I’m not saying there isn’t. I just think you’re making mountains out of molehills. Also it’s unfair that you’re both teaming up against me on this.”  “Thought you liked being double teamed? Joe wiggled his eyebrows at you, earning a laugh from you and an eyeroll from Ben.   “Look,” you said softly, “Joe’s only here for a little while longer. Paparazzi aren’t a problem for us right now. Let’s just try this and see how it goes okay? We can play it by ear and work out all the kinks as we go. Don’t.” you held a finger up at Joe whose mouth had opened at the word kink.  “I wasn’t going to!” he protested as he took the seat between you and Ben.  “You absolutely were.”  “Oh for fucks sake you two, can you at least pretend to be interested in this conversation?”  Joe sighed and patted the back of Ben’s hand, “okay I’m taking it seriously, I promise.”  “Good, now explain to Y/N why this could go bad because apparently she won’t listen to me.”  “I am listening Ben, I just don’t understand why you’re being so pessimistic about it all.”  “I don’t think he’s being pessimistic,” Joe cut in, “you have to admit this isn’t the easiest situation in the world and it’d be unrealistic to expect everything to be smooth sailing. Not just from a we’re-working-in-an-often-intrusive-and-voyeuristic-industry way but also because I think it’s safe to say none of us have ever dated two people at once before.”  Ben opened his mouth but Joe cut him off.  “I mean two people who know about each other.”  “Pretty sure it’s called a throuple,” you shrugged, earning a chuckle from Joe and a reluctant laugh from Ben.  “Well, whatever it’s called,” Joe continued, “it’s probably going to take some getting used to.”  “Okay but isn’t that every relationship?”  “You really want to go through with this? Even with…everything. The press, the fans, explaining it to our families and friends, the fact that Joe lives in another country? There’s a lot that could go wrong without even taking into consideration normal new relationship shit, and this is your chance to decide if it’s too much and back out.”  “I think you’re forgetting I’m the one who had the balls to verbally admit how I was feeling first. I’m not backing out.”  Ben’s eyes met yours and he nodded, seemingly persuaded, “Okay then, as long as we all know what we’re getting ourselves into. Is it horrible of me to suggest we come up with some…I don’t wanna say rules but like just something so we can guarantee this stays between us until we’re ready to be open about it.”  “What sort of non-rules?”  Ben smiled at the word, “I don’t know. Maybe um, no PDAs? And that includes holding hands and stuff as well as kissing.”  “I can do that,” you said with a nod, “never been hugely into PDAs anyway.”  “Yeah, makes sense not to,” Joe said, “Though Ben if anyone’s gonna struggle with it, it’ll be you. So very clingy,”  “I’m not clingy.”  “If you say so. I know this probably goes without saying but, since we’re talking about it, I don’t think we should tell anyone until we are all in agreement that it feels right, if even one of us is unsure then it stays secret. And that includes telling our families. Even if they keep offering to set you up with someone or things like that.”  “Your mum still going on about that friend’s daughter?”  “Yes,” Joe sighed, “But I’m going to keep putting up with it for the sake of you two. Anything else?”  “Maybe,” you ventured, “Maybe keep each other off our insta feeds and other social media. I mean, you two can post whatever you want and it probably won’t matter, but I think it’d be best to keep me out of it so that people don’t start speculating.”  “Yeah, okay, that’s easy. Is that everything?”  “I think so, yeah. S’pose we just see how it goes and figure things out.”  “Okay. So what happens next?”  There was silence as you all looked at each other and then Joe piped up, “Celebratory date night?”
After some discussion you landed on dinner at a restaurant you’d gone to together when Joe first came to visit. Ben called to make a reservation and that night, after a day mostly spent lazing around the house and relishing each other’s company and your mutual happiness, you got dressed up and hit the town.   “You look stunning,” Joe said, eyes taking in the elegant dress you’d chosen and the heels that bumped your already tall frame just a smidge higher over his and Ben’s heads.  “You scrub up pretty well yourself,” you adjusted his collar as you spoke, fingers brushing lightly over his neck, before reaching for your coat.  “Allow me,” he said softly and then, much louder, “Ben, you ready?”  There was a muffled noise from the bathroom in reply.  “I swear if he’s still styling his hair.”  “I heard that,” Ben held up a finger, pointing it at Joe as he came towards you.  “Love when he gets all stern like that,” you nudged Joe’s shoulder.  Ben stuck his tongue out at you both sending you into a fit of giggles, “Dorks,” he laughed as led you out to the car.
The drive itself was fun, singing along to the radio and discussing how hungry you suddenly were while Joe turned in his seat every few seconds to make a comment or joke and Ben stole glances at you in his mirror. When he pulled up Ben opened your door, and gave you a hand out of the car.  “And why didn’t you open my door Benjamin?” Joe said, mock aghast, “Terribly bad manners.”  You all laughed though there was a sudden slight tension in the air. It wasn’t by any means the first time you’d been out with the two of them. Plenty of days had been spent showing Joe the sights – trips to museums and art galleries and parks, dodging couples holding hands and parents trying to stop kids from touching what they shouldn’t. And you’d been out for dinner together more than once, fancy restaurants and the local sushi place and everything in between. But that was all before when you were just friends who sometimes slept together. If Ben had grabbed your hand to pull you to his favourite exhibit or if Joe had offered you his coat because you looked cold, it was all done in the name of fun, accompanied by jokes and laughter. But now there was meaning behind it. Ben’s fingers brushed yours as you walked up the street towards the restaurant and he quickly pulled his hand away.
It got easier as the night went on. The table you were seated at was towards the back corner of the restaurant, so it felt a little more private than walking along the street had. And the longer you were away from the bubble you’d created in Ben’s home and car, the less worried you were that people were watching you, staring, trying to figure out your relationship. There were still a few awkward moments when one of you would go to do something that previously you wouldn’t have thought twice about, only to second guess yourself and falter. When Joe asked how your meal was, your first reaction was to offer him a bite from your fork though you stopped yourself this time, quickly shoving the food into your own mouth to cover the stuttered word that escaped too soon. Ben kept moving as if to touch your hand or Joe’s shoulder, only to remember what you’d agreed upon that morning and stop, leaving his hand resting awkwardly in the middle of the table. Eventually though he contented himself with playing footsie with you both, hidden by the tablecloth and each other’s chairs. So, by the time you were looking at the dessert menu, you felt much closer to your usual selves than you had at the beginning of the meal, laughing easily, mostly unworried by the people around you. You ordered a cocktail once the bottle of wine had been polished off, handing it around so Ben and Joe could taste it, and you opted to share two desserts between the three of you, no one hungry enough for their own.
The second Ben turned the key in the lock to let you back inside, Frankie could be heard bounding towards the door.   “Hey girl,” he cooed, dropping to his knees to pat her as you and Joe stepped around them into the hallway.  “That was really nice,” you said as you hung your coat up by the door, “going out on a date, I mean.”  “Yeah it was. We’re straight up crushing this throuple thing.”  “Took a little getting used to though. I kept feeling like everyone was watching us.” Ben stood up from the doorway, lifting Frankie into his arms as he did so, “here go to mummy for a sec while I get your dinner,”  “Mummy?” you laughed, following Ben towards the kitchen, “Since when am I mummy? Thought I was auntie Y/N.”  “Auntie doesn’t fit now,” Ben shrugged, a can of dogfood in one hand and a can opener in the other.  “That raises so many questions,” Joe butted in, fingers wildly scratching under the dog’s chin, “The least of which is, if Y/N’s mummy does that make me daddy? And do those names transfer to the bedroom?”  “Absolutely not,”  “Spoil sport.”  “Alright you can put her down now, her dinner’s all sorted,”  With a final pat you placed Frankie on the floor. She stood staring at you and Joe for a minute before Ben clicked his tongue. Her ears pricked up and she followed the sound, faster once she realised food was involved.   Ben washed his hands and turned back to you, “Anyone want anything while I’m here?”  “No thanks, couldn’t possibly eat another bite.”  Joe shrugged, “I could go a snack, something a bit sweet?”  Ben and Joe shared a glance from across your shoulder and the next thing you knew Ben was sweeping you up as you squealed in surprise. He hoisted you over his shoulder, holding your legs still, as he carried you towards the bedroom.  “Show off,” Joe said as he followed, grinning, while you banged your fists against Ben’s back.  “Joe help me,” you whined, almost laughing as Ben adjusted his grip on you.  “Sorry sweetie, been thinking about getting you out of that dress since I saw you in it,”  “Me too,” Ben dropped you to the bed with a grunt that made you thankful the dress was easy to remove, “but the shoes stay on.”
Despite Joe’s assertion that you were crushing it, your new dynamic turned out to be harder to adjust to than any of you had imagined it would be. When things were good, they were really good. The domestic bliss you’d fallen into over the previous few weeks continued, but small things began bugging you. Since Joe had moved in with Ben there hadn’t been any worries about leaving him out, no more distance to contend with, so there hadn’t been any problems when you spent the night with one and not the other. It was just how things shook out and no one made a fuss about sleeping alone. But now that you were dating it seemed they both expected you to spend every night with them. When you slept in Ben’s bed, Joe would start joking just a little too much about being excluded. And when you stayed in Joe’s, Ben would spend the next day being extra clingy, barely masking his jealousy. You briefly tried sharing a bed every night but found it untenable. It was lovely sometimes, but somehow you always seemed to end up in the middle and you very quickly got tired of waking up sweating and unable to easily get up to pee or grab a quick drink. Plus, before when you’d stayed over it was generally because of the sex. There’d been a few nights, particularly leading up to the night you’d admitted your feelings, where you’d stayed because you’d been too drunk to drive home or you’d fallen asleep on the couch or just because Ben said you should, but for the most part if you were staying over it was to hook up. Now though, things weren’t solely based on the physical so you didn’t always have sex before you fell asleep in one of their beds, and it led to accusations of favouritism and more than one argument.
The arguments themselves were unfair too. Before, disagreements were quickly solved with a round of rough sex or at the most a couple of days apart before one of you pulled your head in and apologised. But, though you tried to continue that pattern, it didn’t seem to work anymore. Disagreements spawned arguments, often forcing someone to take sides. It was shit being dragged into the middle of an argument you had nothing to do with and it was shit when the person in the middle took the other’s side leaving you feeling ganged up on and attacked. Joe was best at mediating, so fights between you and Ben never seemed to last long but when Joe was involved in the argument things tended to escalate. Neither you or Ben were particularly good at staying impartial or coming up with compromises, both too stubborn to give in without a push from someone else, which just led to more hurt feelings. You ended up going back to your own apartment more often. It was smaller and dingier and lonelier but at least it gave you some space and didn’t gang up on you when you loaded the dishwasher wrong.
On one evening, after a particularly long day at work when you were feeling extra snippy, Joe called you and Ben into the kitchen. You found him leaning against the bench, three mugs laid out in a row as the kettle boiled – a tea for himself, an instant coffee for Ben, and a chai latte for you.   “This isn’t working.”  A cold fist clenched around your heart as the words hit you. You began to protest the breakup at the same time Ben did but Joe held up a hand to stop you.  “I didn’t mean it like that. Shit, sorry, badly phrased. I just mean something about this isn’t right and we need to talk about it so we can fix it.”  You breathed a sigh of relief and sat down.  “Scared us, fucker.”  “Sorry, didn’t mean to,” he pulled out a packet of biscuits and placed them in the middle of the table, “All I want is to talk.”  “About?”  Joe brought the mugs over and took his own seat before he continued speaking, “I was reading some stuff online last night about situations like ours, relationships with more than two people, and every single site I found really hammered home how important good communication is to make them work. A normal couple takes a lot of communication as is but there are three of us – three personalities, three sets of opinions, maybe even three ideas of what this means or what we want from this – so we need to be better at talking about it. And I know it’s not easy, I don’t love talking about my feelings and stuff, but I think if we’re serious about this then it’s a discussion we need to have.”  “Makes sense,” you said softly, “how do we start?”  “I guess…maybe if we take it in turns to talk about anything that’s been bugging us lately? Y/N do you want to go first?”  “Oh, um, okay. The thing that’s been annoying me most is how um…”  Ben placed his hand on yours, “go on, we won’t be offended,”  You took a breath, weighing up the best way to say it, “it’s how, uh, how possessive you guys have been.”  “Is this why you’ve been disappearing a bit lately?”  “Yeah. It’s… you know I love you both but sometimes it feels like you’re fighting over me and expecting me to choose between you. I mean, like, I don’t have my own bed here so when I stay over I either have to sleep on the couch, which feels stupid, or I have to sleep in one of your beds. But no matter who’s bed I choose one of you always seems to be pissed off about it. It’s like you’re both trying to be The Boyfriend without considering each other. You don’t have to compete for me or whatever I’ve very clearly chosen you both.”  “Oh my god, I didn’t even think it might be making you feel like that,” Ben said with an apologetic smile, “I know I can get a little jealous and I’ve been trying not to but I guess that’s what I’m used to. In every other relationship I’ve had, it’s like, we agree to be serious and we share a bed, those things go hand in hand. So seeing you in someone else’s bed feels wrong, which is unfair to Joe and you.”  “I get it, Ben, I do. This is all very new and a little weird and I knew there’d be teething problems to start. But it’s tiring always feeling like I’m being pulled in both directions.”  “Can I just point out, and this isn’t meant in a bitchy way,” Joe said, “but you’re the one who ruled out all of us sharing one bed. So do you have a solution? Because, I admit I’ve been a bit of a jerk about it. Like Ben said I still kind of feel like you should spend more time with me, which I know isn’t right but it’s hard to just switch those feelings off.”  “I might have an idea,” Ben dunked a biscuit into his coffee, although he didn’t seem particularly interested in eating it, “Your problem is how stuffy and claustrophobic it can get when we’re all crammed into one bed right? Well, what if we bought a new bed? King sized so it gives us a bit more room.”  “That could work, but might I suggest something else on top of that. What if you were the one who slept in the middle, Ben? At the moment it seems to always be me, which is very sweet of you both and I do enjoy it, but you are definitely the biggest cuddler of the three of us and you tend to not need to get up to pee as much as I do. Not that it has to be a structured thing, obviously, but I think I’d be more comfortable on the end more often.”  “I am completely fine with that and I kinda feel a little dumb for not thinking of it earlier.”  Joe grinned at you both, “It’s working,” he sing-songed, earning eyerolls from you and Ben.  “Yes okay Joe, you’re very smart for thinking of this.”  “Thank you,”  “Was there something you wanted to talk about?”  “Now that you mention it, yes. The arguments.” the laughter dropped from his voice.  “Yeah, figured this would be brought up,” Ben said, rubbing the back of his neck.
By the time you were done talking the biscuits were gone, your mugs were empty, and you all felt closer as people and partners. It took a while to sort out why arguments seemed harder to break now than before, but you came to the conclusion that it was largely because you hadn’t really talked about how each of you felt since that first day, each of you making incorrect assumptions because of it. The conversation covered a range of topics from how to split household chores to what you had imagined being in a throuple would mean. It took a lot of work to actually be able to voice some of your concerns, and you were sure not everything that could be said was, but you all had the chance get things off your chest, frustration and feelings of inadequacy and concerns about what the future held for you. Together you came to the conclusion you needed to make some changes. Some, like the bed situation, were easy to fix, but others were harder. You decided to set a weekly check in time. A time when you’d all have a chance to talk about how things were going, discuss where you stood, and if your expectations had changed, and work out any problems that arose. The aim was to get to a point where you could have that kind of discussion at any time it became needed, but you all agreed setting a specific time would be a good way to start building the habit.   “One final thing,” Joe’s voice sounded horse from talking, “Sex.”  “Not sure I’m in the mood Joey,”  “No, dingus, we should talk about it a bit. I don’t think it’ll take as much to sort out as some of this other stuff since we’re already pretty familiar with our boundaries and everything but, I figured we might as well while we’re here.”  “I don’t really have anything to say about it,” Ben shrugged, “I like how it’s been going so far.”  “Yeah what are you expecting us to say?”  “Well, okay, um, one of the articles I read mentioned how some people might not be comfortable knowing the other two are screwing, or they might only want to have sex as a threesome,”  “I don’t think those really apply here,” you said, “I mean, obviously we like the threesome stuff. But I also like having time one on one sometimes and I don’t expect you to always need me there when you two wanna fuck.”  “Yeah, same here,”  “Told you it wouldn’t take as long. But I think that’s it then, unless you have anything to add? No? Okay cool. I don’t know about you two, but I’m ready for bed.”  You and Ben agreed, yawning. Being so emotionally open was tiring.   “Where do you want to sleep Y/N?”  “Your bed Benny, but I want Joe there too. As long as I’m not stuck between you two.”  Ben gave you a sleepy smile as he wrapped his arms around you and dropped a soft kiss to your lips, “of course, love.” he turned towards Joe, catching him in a kiss too, “Joe I hope you’re ready to have the shit cuddled out of you.”  “Gosh I’m lucky,”  “Just saying, gotta thank you for forcing us to have that conversation somehow and it’s absolutely going to be cuddles all night. Maybe a morning blowjob too, haven’t decided.”
After your big discussion things began to run smoother. The process of checking in with each other became a regular part of your week, more than a little uncomfortable at first but the more you did it the better you got at it and the less you held back. It mostly happened sitting around the kitchen table with a packet of biscuits and mugs of whichever steaming drink you fancied. The routine setting helped you adjust fast. Within a few weeks you felt comfortable enough about how everything was going to tell some close friends. Rami, Lucy and Gwilym were invited over for dinner one night so you could explain it and answer any questions they would subsequently have. You barely ate a bite of the dinner you’d helped prepare, much too nervous about actually telling others. It wasn’t that you were worried about any of them taking issue with your relationship, or even that you had misgivings about whether they could be trusted to keep your secret safe. It was that up until that point you, Ben and Joe existed in your own space, and didn’t use specific labels to describe yourself, but by telling people you were willingly breaking those boundaries. If you’d thought the word boyfriends or girlfriend, that was fine, but saying them out loud confirmed that this wasn’t just a fling or fucking around or casual anymore, there were real feelings involved and a real chance of getting hurt and no matter how much you wanted to be with them, that was a scary thought. Plus you were all still learning how to manage the relationship. Everything was better now that you’d started talking more candidly but there were still bumps in the road, and part of you felt like if things weren’t perfect then you shouldn’t tell anyone. It was likely that a relationship like yours was not something any of them were familiar with and you couldn’t help feel like you were becoming The Face of Throuples for them, and what right did you have to take that on if you still hadn’t worked out every aspect of how to be in a throuple? But, thankfully, it all went well. They’d been curious but most of the questions were easy to answer. How long has it been going on? How did it happen? The sort of questions you’d usually be asked upon introducing a romantic partner to your friends. And, of course, there’d been some teasing, particularly directed at Ben and Joe for taking so long to actually get together. Gwilym made a toast in which he declared he didn’t need either of them, playing up the jilted ex-lover role to much laughter. It felt nice to talk about it with new people, even if you still felt a little queasy. And it was even nicer knowing that when you were next invited to any of their places for dinner, you and Ben and Joe wouldn’t have to worry about pretending. There‘d be no need to hide your affection under the table or steal kisses in empty rooms, you could just be together.
After the dinner went so well you felt more okay with telling people, inviting a few of your own closest friends over to your place one night so you could let them in on it and swear them all to secrecy. You talked about it with the boys first, just to make sure you were all still on the same page.  A small part of you was terrified that they’d let slip to someone who’d let slip to someone else who’s let slip to a reporter or, god forbid, your family. Telling close friends was one thing but you were nowhere near ready enough to explain it to your relatives and both Ben and Joe seemed to agree with you, especially with the holidays approaching. But neither of them were overly worried about it which made you feel less anxious too. There was still that niggling worry that your relationship wasn’t perfect enough to warrant anyone knowing - by telling them about your relationship you were voluntarily becoming the person your friends could use to earn gossip points or praise for having such diverse friends. You could almost hear the smug well I’ve got this friend, bizarre girl, in an honest to goodness throuple. But talking it through with Joe and Ben helped alleviate that too. They helped you stay relaxed on the day as well, dividing the hosting duties with you and checking on how you were going whenever they could. Telling your friends went well, although it was different to telling the other three. Your friends seemed more surprised by the news, perhaps because they weren’t as acquainted with either Ben or Joe. One or two of them had known you were sleeping with both boys but never suspected it might go further, or at least not with both of them. But you felt calmer after you’d answered their questions and stressed to them how important it was that it remained secret. It was a nerve-wracking experience, having to explain it and feeling like you had to justify your feelings but ultimately it was good, the spaces where you could comfortably be yourselves becoming more and more.
Unfortunately, just as you were finally feeling settled in your relationship everything was turned around again. Joe’s movie wrapped and he began preparing to leave. You’d known it was coming, but still, walking into his room to find him packing shocked you, made you feel like the air had been knocked from your lungs. Mostly you’d all ignored it, pretended like it wasn’t creeping closer and closer, but you couldn’t avoid it forever. Joe looked over to where you were leaning in his doorway and smiled.  “When’s your flight?”  “Thursday afternoon,”  “So soon?”  “Yeah, kinda sucks right?” he dropped the shirt he was holding into his suitcase.  “Little bit. The selfish part of me wants to tell you to stay but I know that’s not right,”  “If it helps you can blame my family for being American, they’re the main reason I want to go back.”  “Helps a little,” you chuckled, pushing off the doorway and stepping into the room, “at least we know your ditching us for a good reason,”  “A very good reason. You’ve seen photos of my nephews; you know how fucking adorable they are.”  “Adorable as shit, no better reason to go.”  “I’ll come back as soon as I can, promise,”   “Oh I’m sure you will, you won’t know what to do without us. But maybe we’ll take pity on you and visit.”  You both broke out giggling for a moment, though the air hung heavy again before long. Joe wrapped his arms around you in a tight hug and you sighed as you buried your head in his neck.  “Are you worried?” you almost whispered, half afraid to hear his answer.  “About flying? No,”  “Joe,” you leaned back so you could look at him properly, “you know that’s not what I meant.”  “Fine. Yes, I’m a little worried. More than I’d like to be. Just feels like we’ve finally worked out how to do this and I’m ruining it. Long distance is hard and I can’t help but think it might fuck everything up.”  “You are not fucking this up Joe,” you placed your hand on his jaw and felt him lean into it, “Me and Ben won’t let you, even if we have to kidnap you or something.”  “You’re so sweet,”  “I know. But seriously, you have done so much to get us where we are now. You’re the reason we didn’t fall apart early on and that won’t change even with an ocean between us. We’re going to message all the time and we can do video chats and still organise time for our weekly check ins and date nights and everything, so you don’t feel left out. And you’ll have to come back because you’re contracted to do promo stuff for your movie here and you can’t get out of that. And, like I said, if you’re away for too long we’ll come to you. Ben’s got that audition tomorrow so he might end up working near you anyway and I can take some time off work if he does.”  “Plus, Christmas shopping will be easier when I don’t have to hide what I get you.”  “Exactly! Bright sides everywhere.”  “I love you,”  “I love you too.”
The last few days before Joe left seemed to pass in the blink of an eye. His final night arrived before you knew it. None of you mentioned it though Ben, always a little clingy, spent most of the day with him, almost joined at the hip. Not that you’d done much better. The poor man could barely go to the bathroom without one of you offering to accompany him. But he didn’t mind. He’d mostly encouraged it. You made Joe’s favourite meal for dinner and Ben found his favourite movies on Netflix and as the hour grew later you’d ended up in a tangled pile on the couch, Joe in the middle with Ben’s head on his shoulder, their fingers intertwined, and your head in his lap, his other hand resting on your side. As the credits rolled on the final movie Joe cleared his throat.  “About tomorrow.”  Ben hummed to show he was listening but didn’t move.  “I don’t know if you should come to the airport with me.”  “What?” You and Ben spoke at the same time, both of you pushing yourselves away from Joe, sitting up.  “I just think it’s going to be easier to keep this secret if neither of you are there.”  “Fuck off, of course we’re going to be there. Friends can still wave each other off at the airport you know. The don’t hold a gun to your head and demand to know if you’re dating or not.”  “Ben, that’s not….” he sighed, “Won’t it be easier to do the goodbyes here?”  “So what?”  “Fine, come along then but we’ll need to discuss how it’s going to work.”  “Well Ben will drive us in a-”  “Not the part I’m worried about. It’s not like we can do the whole romantic farewell kiss thing. Aside from our no PDAs agreement, after I leave it’ll be both of you here and if people are going to think anything it’s that you two are dating. And maybe that’s not a bad thing. If people think you’re a couple, it’ll take a bit of pressure off and there’ll be less chance of us being exposed before we’re ready.”  You crossed your arms and bit your lip. There was sense to what he said, no matter how much you hated it.   Ben scoffed and shook his head, “bullshit,”  “You know I’m right. Y/N is here almost every day and people already suspect you’re together. In the first week I was here I had multiple friends of yours ask me if I knew what was going on between you, and that was when you were just fucking.”  “I can know you’re right and still dislike it.”  “I don’t like it any more than you. But I think we might as well use it to our advantage. And it means you won’t have to be quite as careful about going out together. You could go out and hold hands and kiss in public and people wouldn’t catch on to the reality of our relationship. They wouldn’t realise I’m part of it.”  There was silence as you all paused.  “Stop being so melodramatic Mazzello,” Ben crossed his arms over his chest, “We have a no PDA rule, you just mentioned it before, and that won’t change just because you aren’t around. Stop acting like we’re going to run off without you or something, that’s never going to happen. Also we’re coming to the airport tomorrow. We don’t have to stay and wave you off but we are at least taking you to the drop off zone and you will give us both a hug goodbye.”  You were a little stunned by Ben’s sudden burst of dominance, but Joe just smiled, and let out a breath he seemed to have been holding.  “Well?”  “Deal,”  “Deal,”  “Deal,” Ben stood, grabbing Joe by the hand and pulled him off the couch, “Now come on, last night means farewell sex and you clearly need a strong reminder of how much you mean to us so get ready to have your mind blown.”
You woke in the morning with Joe between you and Ben, your arms tangled together where you held him. For a while you just lay there, intermittently making out and talking in soft voices, as if worried that being too loud would scare time and make it bound away. It did so anyway. The afternoon arrived sooner than any of you wanted and before you were ready you were parked in the lounge room, Joe’s luggage piled by the door, saying goodbye.   Joe squeezed you tight as you tried not to cry into his shoulder, “promise you’ll look after Benny for me.  “Of course,”  “And I expect you to tell me everything that happens, no matter how boring. You’re going to get so sick of your phone vibrating because I’m gonna be sending you so many messages,”  It was getting harder to hold your tears back, voice thick with them, “Not if I annoy you first. If I so much as eat you will hear about it.”  “Good, don’t think I could get through a day without hearing about yours. I’m going to miss you so much.”  “Me too. It’s going to be weird without you here. What if me and Ben can’t make it work without you?”  “Don’t be daft, you’re perfect together. Almost perfect anyway.”  You let out a watery laugh.  “Seriously though, you’ll be fine. I know you’re both stubborn asses but you will be fine.”  “Yeah, you’re right, I’m being dumb. You were right back at the beginning of this too.”  “I know I was, but about what specifically?”  “We’re crushing this throuple thing. And we’re going to keep crushing it, no matter where we all live.”  “Damn right. I love you,”  “Love you too.”  It didn’t matter that your voice cracked halfway through or that you were trying to blink back tears because Joe kissed you then, his hands trying to pull you even closer into his body. You kissed him back, trying to put every ounce of love into it you could manage. It was the kind of kiss that left your lips tingling and your head feeling vaguely dizzy when he finally pulled away, a slightly dazed expression on his own face. Gently he cupped your jaw, thumb stroking over your cheek to wipe away a fallen tear. The gesture was followed with another, softer, kiss to your lips and then to your forehead.
When he let you go you stepped back and tried to fade into the background while he and Ben had their moment, though it was hard not to watch a little even if you couldn’t hear what they were saying. Seeing Ben lose his composure didn’t make it any easier to stop yourself from crying. When they broke apart Ben’s cheeks were stained pink and his eyes were watery but he cleared his throat and shook his head.  “Spose we should get you loaded into the car then.”  Joe let out a shaky breath as he ran his hand over his own face, “Okay, I’m good,” he made his way to the door and picked up the suitcase while Ben grabbed his carryon luggage. Ben winked as he passed you, both of you trying not to laugh despite how sad you felt. Joe would be very surprised when he got home and found the bundle of polaroid photos you and Ben had hidden in his suitcase, pressed between two of his shirts. You wished you could see his face when he did. Instead you contented yourself with trying to imagine the message he’d send you, finding it useful to stop your emotions from getting the better of you as you hopped into the backseat and Ben started the engine.
The drive itself was more than a little tense. It felt weird to have done your goodbyes, emotional as they ended up being, only to trap yourselves together in an inescapable enclosed space. There was no singing along to the radio, just some soft conversation, mostly about Joe’s flight. Though you wouldn’t have missed the drive for anything, wanting to spend as much time with Joe as possible even if there was a weird vibe to it. The vibe shifted as you got closer to the airport, less weird, more straight up depressing. You and Ben climbed out of the car with Joe, Ben heading to pull his bags from the boot.   “Have a safe flight,” Ben said, dropping the bags to the ground and moving to give Joe a final hug, “Look after yourself and text us as soon as you land, okay?” You could see the way his hand lingered on Joe’s back, how he squeezed just a little tighter than he normally would, but to an outsider it would have looked like nothing more than good friends parting. You felt the tears beginning to form again and desperately tried to hold them back.  Joe nodded as they broke apart and then pulled you into a final hug.  “Don’t cry Y/N. Gotta keep it together so Ben doesn’t break down bawling,”  “Oi, I heard that, jerk,”  “Not disputing it though are you?” Joe laughed, “but seriously Y/N, there’s no need. I’ll be back as soon as I can be and then you’ll feel like a right dork for getting so emotional.”  “Better come back fast and prove it. Tell your nephews they’re lucky little jerks.”  Joe just laughed as he stepped back, “See you next time, then. Thanks for… everything.” There was a second where you had to fight the urge to leap at Joe and pull him into the sort of big romantic kiss reserved for romcoms but then he grabbed his bags and headed off towards the entrance, the moment gone. He paused once to look back and wave before he disappeared amongst the crowd. You and Ben stayed for a few seconds, watching the entrance just in case he appeared again but he didn’t.
By the time you got home both of you felt exhausted, drained. Without saying a word you headed to the room that Joe had claimed as his own, Ben following without really seeming to realise. It already felt too quiet with just the two of you there. You toed off your shoes and lay down on the bed, Ben collapsing beside you, his hand falling to your waist.   The bed still smelt like Joe and you sighed, “It’s going to be different without him,”  “Yeah, probably. But it’ll be fine. It’s so easy to keep in contact, we’ll manage.”  “I know. Just gonna take some getting used to I guess. I already miss him so much,”  “I know babe,” Ben’s arms tightened as he pulled you into his chest. For a moment you just lay there and then the silence was broken by both of your phones buzzing in sync. There was a new message in your group chat, both of you clicking to open it, hoping just a little that Joe’s flight had been cancelled or something similar. Instead you were met with three words that made both of you sob.
Miss you already

AUTOMATED VOICE
Please state your message.
[THEME MUSIC AND INTRODUCTION PLAYS.]
VAL
Three-Eyed Frog Presents: The Heart of Ether.
[THEME CONTINUES BEFORE COMING TO A STOP.]
[PHONE BEEP.]
[INT. IRENE’S OFFICE.]
IRENE
I’m not—okay, look, I’m not recording this for personal reasons this time. I know last night was…really rough, and I should probably talk through it more with myself before I do anything irrational.
It really was just an awful night, huh? Not only did I cry in the Sonic parking lot, but I got home immediately afterwards and found out that the yellow mold had started growing in my kitchen. [SHE SCOFFS.] Yeah, not my night.
That’s not important, though. What is important is that…
[SHE TAKES A DEEP BREATH.]
IRENE
Last night, in the woods, I saw something that I couldn’t explain. Today, I am going to find it again and confront it—and this time, figure out what the hell it is instead of running away.
I guess this is sort of me taking you with me for the ride. It’s also for evidence purposes, though. [MUTTERS] For once, I have an actually valid reason to be recording myself.
Here goes nothing.
[PHONE BEEP.]
[RECORDING ENDS.]
[ANOTHER PHONE BEEP.]
[INT. THE STAFF KITCHEN AT IRENE’S WORK.]
[THERE ARE FOOTSTEPS ACROSS THE TILE FLOOR.]
IRENE
Aden.
[ADEN DROPS A SPOON IN HIS SURPRISE.]
ADEN
Jesus—oh, Irene! Thank goodness, you’re alright. You, you startled me. [sigh of relief] I never heard from you last night after your…adventure, so I thought you had—
IRENE
[CONFUSED] Wait, you seriously didn’t hear anything?
ADEN
...no? You never—
IRENE
Aden, I tried to contact you through the radio.
ADEN
…oh. [HE REALIZES.] Oh! That makes sense. I swear, my radio got all static-y while I was watching TV, but no words were coming through. I thought it was broken.
IRENE
[SHE HUFFS A SIGH.] That…that’s fair, actually. Look, I’m fine now, okay? That’s what matters.
ADEN
Oh, that’s good. [STUTTERING] I definitely wouldn’t—I would have gotten fired if I had let you get killed by wild bears. [HE CHUCKLES.] Actually, wait, why were you trying to contact me?
IRENE
[HESITANT] It wasn’t bears, I promise. It was…something worse, I guess?
ADEN
Worse than bears?
IRENE
You really hate bears, don’t know?
ADEN
[PASSIONATELY] Obviously! They’re horrifying killing machines! How could you not be terrified of them?
[HE HUFFS.] What did you see, though?
[A BEAT OF SILENCE.]
IRENE
Promise you won’t think I’m crazy.
ADEN
Oh, I already think you’re crazy. You talk into your phone for a person who will never listen.
IRENE
[DEFENSIVE] I do not—[STUTTERING] I mean—
[DEFEATED] How did you know?
ADEN
Carol told me.
IRENE
[MUTTERS] Oh, of course she did. [BACK TO A NORMAL TONE] Just please promise to hear me out?
[ADEN PONDERS FOR A MOMENT.]
ADEN
Alright, sure. Go ahead.
IRENE
I saw a big writhing monster rise up from the ground.
ADEN
[SUDDENLY OUTRAGED] Oh! Oh, okay! Sure! “Hey, let’s play a fun prank on Aden! He sure seems gullible and easy to scare. How about we make him believe that a big old beast in the forest—”
[IRENE STUTTERS IN FRUSTRATION AS SHE ATTEMPTS TO CUT HIM OFF.]
IRENE
[OVERLAPPING HIS LAST FEW WORDS] Aden, I’m not messing with you. Cross my heart. I went to go check out the branches, and I turned around because I heard a scream, and when I turned back around, the branches and the dirt had gotten up into this huge living mass. I can’t make this shit up. I don’t even have a good reason to.
ADEN
[SKEPTICAL] Okay…
IRENE
I even recorded it happening. I know it’s just audio, but it’s still proof.
ADEN
Alright…
IRENE
[CONTINUING] And I promise I’ll play it for you if you just promise to come with me and help me find the creature.
[A PAUSE.]
ADEN
[SLOWLY] You…want me to…go monster hunting with you?
IRENE
[A BEAT.] Yeah.
[A PAUSE WHERE ADEN WAITS TO SEE IF IRENE IS JOKING.]
ADEN
Oh, you’re being serious about all this, um—Could I at least finish my coffee first?
IRENE
Take as long as you need. I’ll tell Carol we’re going out to do some field work, and then we can go back out to the branches.
ADEN
You actually think we’re going to be able to find it? I mean, if it even is real and not just a figment of your imagination—
IRENE
[DEFENSIVE] Hey—
ADEN
—then how can we prove that it even comes out during the day? Or maybe it only comes out when there’s only one person?
IRENE
[CONSIDERING] You have a point, I guess.
I have to check, though. I need to figure out what it is. Because if there’s an actual eldritch beast or whatever hiding out in our woods, I have a feeling that’s going to be just as, if not more dangerous than your average forest fire.
ADEN
[HE SIGHS.] You really believe what you saw?
IRENE
Yeah.
[ADEN THINKS FOR A MOMENT.]
ADEN
Okay. Alright, I, I’ll go. Just give me a bit.
IRENE
[SHE HEAVES A SIGH OF RELIEF.] Thank you.
[PHONE BEEP.]
[RECORDING ENDS.]
[ANOTHER PHONE BEEP.]
[INT. THE FOREST.]
[THERE IS FAINT FOREST AMBIANCE AND BIRD SONG IN THE BACKGROUND. FOOTSTEPS AS ADEN AND IRENE WALK.]
ADEN
You’re seriously recording this?
IRENE
If we’re going to run into it again, we need evidence.
ADEN
[HE SCOFFS.] Then take a photo and upload it to Instagram or something! A recording without any video hardly counts for anything.
IRENE
[SLIGHTLY UNCOMFORTABLE AND EMBARRASED] I...I don’t have Instagram.
ADEN
Alright then, whatever you have. Twitter, Tumblr, whatever. It was mostly just a joke.
IRENE
I don’t have anything, actually.
ADEN
Oh. [HE CHUCKLES.] Didn’t really take you for the “off the grid” sort.
IRENE
I’m not. I just don’t have room on my phone for any social media apps.
[A PAUSE IN THEIR FOOTSTEPS.]
ADEN
Don’t tell me your entire phone is just those audio recordings.
IRENE
[SHE WINCES.] And what would you say if that was the case?
ADEN
Irene!
IRENE
[SHE GROANS.] Come on. I can still text, call, and check my email. I just...can’t do much else.
ADEN
[DISTRAUGHT] Not even listen to music? That’s a terrible and sad life to lead, Irene.
IRENE
I use CD’s or vinyl whenever I want to listen to stuff.
ADEN
[TEASING] Oh, so you have a retro aesthetic?
IRENE
I have no clue what my aesthetic is. Can we please just find the branches?
ADEN
Whatever you say.
[THEIR FOOTSTEPS COME TO A HALT.]
IRENE
This is it.
ADEN
…so, what now?
IRENE
We wait, I guess?
ADEN
[WONDERING WHY HE AGREED TO THIS] Ah. Okay.
What exactly were you doing when you saw it the first time?
IRENE
Nothing? I was just standing here. I turned around, and when I turned back, there it was.
ADEN
Well then, maybe we shouldn’t stare at it.
IRENE
Good idea. [A BEAT.] Okay, how about this: we go sit on those rocks over there, wait for a bit, and then see what happens?
ADEN
[ANXIOUSLY] Or, wait, I have a better idea! We could just go back to work and pretend this never, ever happened.
IRENE
We’re already here, Aden. We might as well try.
ADEN
[WORRIED, BUT DEFEATED] Fine.
[THEY BOTH WALK OVER TO THE ROCKS AND SIT DOWN.]
ADEN
Now we wait?
IRENE
Yup.
ADEN
[SLOWLY] What should we talk about?
IRENE
Um…I guess just, anything? What do you want to talk about?
ADEN
Hm… [HE THINKS FOR A MOMENT.] What kind of music do you listen to?
IRENE
A mix. Um, I like Fall Out Boy?
ADEN
[SNORTS LAUGHING] Fall Out Boy? Seriously?
IRENE
What? Their older stuff is good.
ADEN
Ah, so you’re only a classic Fall Out Boy fan.
IRENE
[SLIGHTLY DEFENSIVE] I just haven’t listened to their newer stuff, that’s all. I’m not trying to be an elitist or anything.
ADEN
[HE CHUCKLES.] Sure, sure. What else? [A BEAT.] If you say MCR next, I swear, I’ll never look at you the same again.
IRENE
[SHE SNORTS.] I mean, I dunno. Cage is good. I used to listen to Glass Animals a lot, too, but it’s been a while.
ADEN
Those are respectable choices.
IRENE
What about you? [TEASING] I’m guessing you only listen to the most underground of indie.
ADEN
Mm, actually, not really. I mean, I’m sure you’ve heard of Mitski, Superorganism—
IRENE
[OVERLAPPING] Mitski?
[A PAUSE.]
ADEN
Your life is a joke, Irene.
[IRENE STARTS LAUGHING, BUT ADEN REMAINS DEAD SERIOUS.]
ADEN
I’m serious. Your life is a joke and I have no idea how you manage to live this way.
IRENE
[STILL LAUGHING] Fine! Fine. I’ll listen to Mitski.
ADEN
Oh no, I’m definitely forcing you to listen to her on the way back. That’s a promise.
[IRENE’S LAUGHTER DIES OFF, AND THERE’S A MOMENT OF SILENCE.]
IRENE
What else?
ADEN
I dunno.
Who do you record messages for?
IRENE
[SHE BECOMES MORE SERIOUS.] What?
ADEN
If you don’t mind answering, that is.
[A BEAT. IRENE SIGHS HEAVILY.]
IRENE
My ex-girlfriend.
ADEN
Ah. I understand not being able to move on from a relationship, [WHISTLE] trust me. Is there some sort of heartbreaking break-up story, or—?
IRENE
[GRIM] She went missing.
[SILENCE.]
ADEN
Oh my god. I’m so sorry, I didn’t—
IRENE
It’s fine. The wound is four years old. It hardly hurts to pick at it now.
ADEN
[SINCERE] Do you want to talk about it?
IRENE
[STIFLED] I mean, it’s kind of complicated? I’ll spare you the details for now. It’s just…I don’t know.
I just thought I’d be over it by now. That’s what those recordings were meant to do: help me get over it. I just keep obsessing over it, though.
[ALMOST MOURNFUL] I try to look for the good in my new life, but I realize that she’s in all the things I think are good. I can’t even date other people—and I’ve tried. It doesn’t take long for the relationships to unravel and fall apart. [SHE SCOFFS.] One girl said it was like I was cheating.
ADEN
[SYMPATHETIC] People handle loss differently, you know. It’s okay to not be over it just because time has passed.
IRENE
[DISTANT] Right.
[THEN, MORE AWARE] I’m sorry, I shouldn’t be dumping this onto you. You’re my coworker, not my therapist.
ADEN
Don’t worry about it. I’m always here if you need anything, work-related or not.
Have you tried therapy, though?
IRENE
I did, but it’s been a while. To be honest, at this point, I’m not sure if going back would—
[THERE’S A LOUD RUSTLING NEARBY.]
[EERIE MUSIC BEGINS GROWING IN THE BACKGROUND.]
ADEN
Did you hear—? [SUDDENLY PANICKED] Irene! Hey, stop!
[IRENE HAS ALREADY RISEN TO HER FEET.]
IRENE
Shh! [WHISPERS] I think that was the branches.
ADEN
[WHISPERS THROUGH CLENCHED TEETH] Irene, I think a big living mass of dirt would sound a lot louder than—
[ANOTHER LOUD RUSTLING.]
IRENE
I’m going to check it out. You stay here.
[SLOW AND CAREFUL FOOTSTEPS AS IRENE STEPS TOWARDS THE BRANCHES. THE RUSTLING CONTINUES.]
IRENE
[WARY] Hey…
Wait, is...is that—wo-oah!
[THE MUSIC CUTS OFF ABRUPTLY.]
[THERE IS A RUSTLING ACCOMPANIED BY THUMPING NOISES AS RABBITS RUN PAST IRENE, THEIR FAINT SQUEAKS AND WHIMPERS IN THE BACKGROUND. IRENE STUMBLES FOR A MOMENT BEFORE SHE IS HEARD FALLING OVER. A CRACKING NOISE IS HEARD AS HER PHONE SCREEN SHATTERS.]
[THE RABBIT NOISES FADE OFF.]
ADEN
[UNIMPRESSED] Rabbits. It was a family of rabbits hiding beneath the branches.
IRENE
[SHE GROANS IN PAIN.] Shut up.
[SHE SHIFTS TO A SITTING POSITION.]
IRENE
Oh, fuck.
ADEN
[WINCES] That screen is cracked pretty bad.
Does it still work?
IRENE
[SHE SIGHS IN RELIEF.] Yeah, and it’s still recording, too.
ADEN
Whew, that was close. You, er, have all of your recordings backed up, right?
IRENE
No?
ADEN
[DUMFOUNDED] Seriously? You’re a young adult in the 21st century! How do you not know the basics of technology? Always back up your important files to a flash drive or something!
IRENE
Of course I know that. I just never thought to back up the recordings because…well, I guess I just never thought about what would happen if I lost all of them. I usually just focus on the act of making them.
ADEN
You probably should upload them somewhere else for safe keeping, though. In case your phone’s next fall is its last.
IRENE
You’re probably right.
ADEN
[NERVOUS] Can we please leave now? I don’t think your “eldritch monster” or whatever you called it is going to show up anytime soon.
IRENE
Yeah, let’s go.
[SHE GRUNTS AS SHE PUSHES HERSELF TO HER FEET.]
IRENE
Thank you. For uh, following me out into the woods and listening to me talk about my missing ex-girlfriend.
ADEN
Anytime! [HE PAUSES.] Actually, no, I never want to follow you into the woods to go monster hunting ever again. Er, no offense. Can you turn off the recording now?
IRENE
[SHE CHUCKLES.] Sure.
[PHONE BEEP.]
[RECORDING ENDS.]
AUTOMATED VOICE

Boston Boy Chapter 1
A/N This is my first attempt at a Chris Evans Fanfic. I posted it over on another blog, but I was encouraged to post it on my blog, too. So, here goes! Be gentle with me.
Finally!
Kathleen looked around the airport as she pulled her luggage behind her.  After years of being a fan of the Patriots, she’d finally bought tickets to a game and was spending a week in Boston.  And even more exciting, she was doing it by herself.  She’d never travelled by herself before, so this was exciting and slightly terrifying.
It was mid morning on a Saturday and the airport wasn’t terribly busy.  The rental car terminal was practically deserted as she entered to pick up her rental car.  The people were friendly and the car was a newer Ford Fusion with the works inside. She plugged in the address of her hotel and made her way through the streets of Boston.  The last time she’d been to this city, it had been a horrible experience.  The Boston Marathon had been going on and they were in the middle of the “Great Dig”, so driving had been a nightmare.  This time, she was determined to enjoy every minute.
After getting checked in at her hotel in downtown with some minor difficulty since she was so early, she finally settled her bags in the room and began unpacking.  All she needed to do was get freshened up before she went out exploring.  It didn’t take her long.  She swept on some mascara and pulled her shoulder length blonde hair up into a ponytail before changing into jeans, knee high boots, and a sweater.
It was late October, but the weather was unseasonably warm.  The city was just beginning to buzz with people starting their day.  The Patriots were playing tomorrow and most businesses had put out their Patriot pride paraphernalia.  She wouldn’t be attending that game, though.  Her tickets were for the Thursday night game against the Dolphins.  Her friend Lara was supposed to have come with her to the game, but she’d cancelled at the last minute.  It didn’t matter, though, she would be surrounded by fellow Pats fans.  Maybe she’d even make a new friend to give the extra ticket to.
Boston Common was less than a mile away from her hotel, so she set off on foot in that direction. The best part about this trip was that she had no plans beyond the football game.  She could come and go as she pleased.  Check out the sites, eat the food, and enjoy museums whenever she wanted.  There was no rush to be anywhere as she walked down the street towards the park.
The day passed quickly as she wandered the park and then explored the shops and eateries around Newbury Street.  The people she talked with were friendly and helpful.  They seemed to really love the fact that someone from Kentucky was such a huge fan of their football team.  A few people were very helpful on places to go to watch the game with fellow fans. By the time dinner time rolled around, she had a list going of places to eat at and things to see or do that weren’t tourist traps.
For dinner, she decided to get something simple and eat at the park.  She stretched out on a bench with her Kindle set to the third book in the Outlander series and started eating the PB&J she’d gotten from a little sandwich shop on Newbury Street.  People wandered by her and she smiled back at them if they looked her way.  The sunset made beautiful colors on the grass around her and she enjoyed the glow all the way into the dimness of evening.
Finally the temperature dropped enough that she needed more than a sweater to stay warm. Deciding that was her cue to head back to the hotel, she turned off her Kindle and stood up.  Which was when she ran straight into a tall, bearded man with blue eyes.  She bounced off of him and lost her balance, falling straight back onto her backside and dropping her Kindle and purse.  The contents fell out and she moved quickly to stop a runaway Chapstick tube.
“I’m sorry.” She said as the man bent down to help her pick up her stuff.
“It’s ok.  I tried to catch you, but you bounced pretty hard.” The man said in a voice that sounded very familiar to her.
“Oh, that’s just my boobs’ natural reaction to running into things.  They throw me down.” He started laughing and she finally looked over at him after picking up her purse. “Oh!”
“Are you ok?  I didn’t hurt you, did I?”
“No.  I’m ok.  Thanks. I’m so sorry I ran into you.”
“It was my fault. I was texting and walking.”
“That’s really dangerous. You could’ve fallen into a fountain or something.”
“Lucky for me I just ran someone down.”
“Yeah.” She laughed and realized her Kindle was missing. “Oh.” Turning around to retrieve it from under the bench, she heard a hiss come from behind her. “What?”
“I think someone didn’t clean up after their dog.”
“I’m sorry?”
“No, I’m sorry. Oh, don’t!” He grabbed her hand before she could wipe at the wet substance on the back of her jeans. “Sorry. I knocked you down straight into dog shit.  Here,” He took his jacket off and slung it around her shoulders, making sure it covered the spot up. “Do you live near here?” “Uh, my hotel is only a couple of blocks away.”
“Which one?”
“The Doubletree.”
He smiled and ushered her down the sidewalk. “Let’s get you back there so you can clean up and I can apologize for this some more.”
“Seriously, there’s no need to apologize.  I ran into you.”
“How about we ran into each other?”
“I’ll accept that.” She chuckled. “I’m Kathleen, by the way.  People call me Kate, though.  Or Kat.”
“Chris.”
“Yeah.  I kinda figured that out.”
“And here I thought I was doing good at blending in.”
“Sorry.  I’m a nerd.  I love all things Doctor Who and Marvel.  It’s kind of hard to miss Captain America when he’s standing right in front of you.  Even with a beard.”
He smiled. “Have we met before?”
“No.  Why?”
“You just seemed…. familiar.  Thought maybe I’d met you at a convention or something.”
“Oh.  Well, I kinda fail at that part of being a nerd.  Don’t tell any of the others, but I’ve never been to a convention.  It’s on my bucket list, though.”
“Your secret is safe with me.” He glanced down at her. “It’s fun.  At least from my experience.”
“I can imagine.  I have friends that go to them all the time and it looks like so much fun.  And since I love Halloween, it would give me a chance to use some of my costumes again.” She looked up and saw her hotel looming. “That’s me.”
“Nice.  A Halloween fan, huh?”
“The biggest.  I go all out.  I usually start planning for the next year the day after Halloween.”
“It’s only a few days away.  What are you planning this year?”
“I was going to do Peggy Carter, and I even started collecting the pieces for it, but I had the opportunity to come to Boston and I chose that instead.” They walked into the lobby and Chris called the elevator for them.  It opened immediately and they stepped in.  She hit the button for the sixth floor.
“Is this your first time in Boston?”
“Second.  I was here in early 2001 for spring break.”
He laughed and shook his head. “You came to Boston for spring break?”
She laughed. “It’s a long story, but yes.  I came to Boston for spring break.” The elevator doors opened and she led the way down the hall to her room.  He held the door for her as she walked in. “I’ll be right back with your jacket.” She disappeared into the bedroom and shut the doors behind her.  Taking a moment to freak out that Chris Evans was sitting in her hotel room, she jumped up and down for a few seconds.  Then she caught a whiff of the dog poo on her backside and gagged.  She quickly stripped those jeans off and shoved them in the dirty laundry bag from the closet.  Grabbing another pair and checking to make sure there was no poop on his coat, she headed back out into the sitting room. “Thank you for giving me your jacket to hide the poop.” She handed him back his coat.
“No problem.” He’d made himself comfortable on the couch, but had stood up when she walked in. “This is a really nice hotel room.”
“Yeah.  My mom runs a Hilton in Virginia and she got me the employee discount despite not wanting me to come on this trip.”
“She didn’t want you to come?”
“She worries.  This is my first time travelling alone.  She’s texted me about twenty times today.  And don’t even get me started on my brother and my step-dad.”
“Bad, huh?”
“They’ve been threatening to show up and keep an eye on me.  I’m surprised they haven’t sensed there’s a man in my hotel room and kicked in the door.” She glanced at the door. “You’d think I’m not almost 30 years old and been living on my own for years.”
“It’s good they worry.  Mine do too.”
“Yeah?  Try being the youngest in a family full of boys. Out of the eight cousins in my family, there’s only three girls.  Myself, my sister, and Cara.  Cara got married a couple of years ago and now everyone’s protective forces have shifted to me.  I’m tempted to never get married just to drive them crazy.”
“What about your sister?”
“She’s a very long story and I doubt she’ll ever get married.”
“Do you think the guys would show up if I bought you dinner as an apology for knocking you down?”
She blinked for a few seconds. “You want to buy me dinner?”
“It’s the least I can do.”
“Are you sure?  I mean…. I’m not exactly…. Well, you’re…..” She sighed. “You shouldn’t feel obligated to do anything beyond what you’ve already done.”
“I don’t feel obligated. I want to buy you dinner.  I feel terrible that I knocked you down into dog shit on your first vacation by yourself.  Also, my mother raised me to be a gentleman and this is the gentlemanly thing to do.”
“I, uh…. Ok.  I mean, if you’re dead set on it, then I guess I’ll let you buy me dinner.  Are you sure?”
“I’m positive. Besides, we’ve managed to carry on a conversation without either of us turning into bumbling idiots and I wouldn’t hate continuing it.” “Yeah, I’m shocked I’m being so cool right now considering I am a fan of yours, but why would you ever be a bumbling idiot talking to me?”
“Oh, uh….” To her amazement, he actually blushed. “I sometimes have trouble keeping up a conversation with someone I’ve just met.  You can’t tell it, but I’m sweating bullets right now.”
She smiled slightly. “No need to get all sweaty nervous around me.  I’m just…. Well, I’m just me.  Not worth the sweat.”
“I highly doubt that’s true.” Before she could respond, he changed the subject. “So, dinner…. What would you like to eat?”
“Uh, I don’t know. I had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich earlier and I had planned to come back here and curl up with room service.”
“That’s no good. You’re a couple blocks from Chinatown and some really delicious food.”
“Ok.  Chinese sounds good.”
“Great!” He bounced on the balls of his feet for a second. “I know exactly where to take you.”
She laughed at his enthusiasm. “You’re very excited about this.”
“Well, yeah.  It’s not every day I run someone down, knock them into dog shit, and get Chinese food for it.”
“Oh, you’re getting rewarded for it?”
“Yeah.  One could say that I already have gotten rewarded.”
“How so?” She walked back into her room to reach in the closet and grab her coat. He followed her to the doorway. “I met someone new today.”
“And she hasn’t gone psycho fangirl on you.”
“You planning to?”
“Gonna try not to.” She laughed again, slipping on her coat. “Honestly, I’ve met a lot of celebrities and you’re all just like us normal folks.  I’m not going to scream in your ear or hump your leg or anything crazy.”
“Thank god.  I don’t know what I’ll do if you scream in my ear.”
She laughed as they walked out of the hotel room.  They headed back to the elevators and he hit the call button. “You know, this is definitely not how I pictured meeting you.”
“Yeah?  How did you picture it?”
“Um…. At a convention with you on one side of a table and me on the other.  Probably handing you something to sign.”
“Ah.”
“This is better, for the record.  Even with the dog shit.”
The elevator opened and he let her step on first.  They made it to the sidewalk before he spoke again. “So why Boston?” He asked as they headed down the street.
“The Patriots.”
“The Pats?  Are you a fan?” “Big fan.  I’ve got my Brady jersey in my room ready to wear.”
“Are you going to the game tomorrow?”
“Not tomorrow’s game. I couldn’t get tickets for it. I’m going to Thursday’s game.”
“Nice!”
“My best friend was supposed to come with me, but she flaked out.”
“That sucks.  Why did she do that?”
“Something about she didn’t want to waste vacation days because she’s got dance things coming up.” She rolled her eyes.
He didn’t miss the eye roll. “You don’t approve?”
“It’s not that I don’t approve.  I’m glad dance makes her so happy, especially with her being separated from her husband and dealing with all of that.  My problem lies with the fact that she’s really starting to shun people for the dancing thing.  I swear, I haven’t seen her in weeks and that’s highly unusual for us.”
“You’re the same age?”
“Yes.”
“When did she start dancing?”
“It’s been off and on since she was a kid.  There’s a lot of issues there and the dancing is just a mask for them.  Honestly, it’s a can of worms you don’t want to open.”
“Ok.  New subject.  How did you become a Pats fan coming from the south?”
“My first trip to Boston.”
“The spring break one?”
“Yup.”
“I think we’ve got time if you want to tell me why you came to Boston of all places for spring break.”
She laughed. “Ok. Well, I was living with my father at the time, but planning to move back with my mom before sophomore year of high school.  I wanted to get away from my father whenever possible because that was a horrible situation and my mom said I could come with her for my spring break.  She had a conference to go to for her job and it was here in Boston.”
“There’s no football during spring break, though.”
“No.  I know.  It was after a really terrible season, too, but everyone I met loved their Patriots. I got my first Patriots shirt while I was here.  I started watching the team to see what all the fuss was about their 2001 season and that’s when Brady showed up.  So while the trip pretty much stunk, I was in love with an amazing football team. Fourteen years later and I’m still a big fan.”
“Why did the trip stink?”
“It was the weekend of the Boston Marathon and they were in the middle of that Great Dig thing, so things were closed or we couldn’t get to anything because streets were closed. It was crazy.  There was also an incident with a shrimp that scared me off them for a while.”
“You were right. It is a long story.  I have questions.”
“Ask away.”
“I’m going to get back to the shrimp thing, because I can’t let that one go.  But, if you don’t mind me asking, what was the horrible situation you were getting away from with your dad?”
“I don’t call him dad, I call him my father.  My step-dad is my dad.  He earned that title.  My father was, uh, well…. He was abusive.”
He became really quiet and his face got very serious. “I’m sorry.”
She shrugged. “It was a long time ago.”
“It’s still horrible.”
“It definitely was. It wasn’t just physical.  It was mental, too.  For a very long time I had body image issues and I didn’t feel like I was worth anything to anyone.  I got so low that I contemplated suicide at one point.  I had the pills in my hand, but my boyfriend at the time developed a sixth sense and called me.  He convinced me to move back to my mom’s in Virginia.  It took a lot of therapy, some great friends, and eventually getting into burlesque to get to some semblance of normal thinking back.  I still have some anxiety about certain things and I’ve been known to unconsciously sabotage relationships because I don’t feel like I’m worth the trouble and I’m almost in constant terror that they’re going to lie to me.  Gotta love trust issues.”
“I’m so sorry you went through that.”
“Thank you.”
“Do you talk to your father at all?”
“Yeah.  He’s gotten help since then and he’s come out of the closet, so he’s a much happier man now.  He’s been trying to develop a relationship with me lately.”
“Your father is gay?”
“Very.  I’ve known it since I was thirteen and my mom confirmed it.  As a friend of mine put it, my father was so far in the closet he found Narnia and wondered what the fuck happened.” He laughed and she chuckled. “He finally came out when he turned 50.”
“Good for him.”
“Yeah.”
“It still sucks that he put you through all of that.  I’m really sorry.”
“Thank you.  I try to make the best of it.  I’ve worked with a few charities, I’ve done a couple of burlesque shows that benefit women’s shelters, and I’ve gotten to talk with some people in abusive situations that didn’t know how to get out.  I was lucky I had my mom and step-dad to go back to. Not everyone is so lucky.”
They walked into the little restaurant and were seated right away.  Chris requested a booth in the back where it was quiet.  They browsed the menu for a few moments before deciding on a few different options.  Once the order was placed, Chris turned his full attention back to her.
“Please tell me about the shrimp now.  I gotta know.”
She laughed. “So the hotel we were staying at for the conference was super fancy.  It had this gourmet restaurant and a gift shop and a salon. I can’t for the life of me remember what it was called or even where it was located.  Near the harbor, I think.  Anyway, mom and I wanted to go check out this seafood restaurant she’d heard about, but since the streets were all closed and wonky and this was before GPS, we got horribly lost.  Like, ended up in a different town lost.  Mom got frustrated and back tracked us back to the hotel so we could just eat dinner there. I ordered fried shrimp with rice and when it came out, it was…. Well, it was a gourmet restaurant so the plate was very decorative.  It had this column of rice wrapped in seaweed and these brown fried sticks coming out of it. No shrimp in sight yet.  I figured it was in the rice.  So I start to disassemble the plate and pluck one of the brown sticks out.  But it was heavier than I’d planned because along with the stick came the whole shrimp, eyeballs and all.  They had fried the entire shrimp and the brown sticks were the whiskers or tentacles or whatever the hell those things are on shrimp.  It was so unexpected that I screamed, threw the shrimp, and left the table.  I couldn’t eat shrimp for years after that without seeing those hollow, fried eyeballs looking at me.” She smiled at Chris’ laughter.  It was a full belly laugh that almost echoed around them.
“Why would they serve a shrimp like that?”
“I have no idea. It was traumatizing for my fourteen year old self!”
Once their laughter died down, Chris asked, “So if your mom was at a conference, what did you do the whole time?”
“Explored a little bit. Checked out where the Boston Tea Party happened.  Followed the Freedom Trail.”
“History buff?”
“Oh god yes!  I love history.  There’s this house in Richmond called Agecroft Hall.  It was built in England around the time of the War of the Roses.  In the 20s, it had fallen into disrepair and would’ve been torn down, but it was bought by a man in Richmond and he had it dismantled and brought over here to repair and rebuild it on the James River just like it had been in England.  The place is gorgeous and it’s a British history museum right in the middle of Richmond, Virginia.  I’ve spent countless hours there taking pictures and exploring and talking to the tour guides.  I even got to put on my full Tudor costume and hang out and answer questions while people visited and I once took Tudor dancing lessons there.  The Volt is very exciting and was very intimate for those times.” She noticed Chris watching her intently. “I told you.  I’m a big nerd.”
“No, it’s cool.  I like it.  You’re passionate about history.”
“If we don’t learn from the past, we’ll never change the future.”
He smiled brightly at her. “Exactly.  Wait, you have a full Tudor costume?”
“Yes.  I told you I don’t do Halloween lightly.  I went as Anne Boleyn one year.  My mom has to be my handmaiden when I wear it because there’s no way I can get into it by myself.  It’s the most expensive costume that I own.”
“I bet.  Please tell me you have pictures.”
She smiled and pulled out her cell phone.  The food came as they were browsing through her Facebook pictures.  Chris kept browsing as he ate, mind half on his food as he asked about one picture and another.  She was completely surprised at how calm she was being that Chris Evans was genuinely interested in her life.  He held her phone hostage all through dinner as he looked at the different pictures and even took some selfies of himself and them together.
As they walked out of the restaurant, he said, “You have a lot of pictures of your dogs.”
She shrugged. “They’re my babies.  And they’re all chock full of personality.  Or…. Were…. We had to put Tucker to sleep a couple of years ago.  He had cancer.  And Ireland went to sleep about a month ago and didn’t wake up.”
“I’m so sorry.”
“She was old…. Thirteen. Even though I was expecting it, I was devastated.  I had to leave work I was so upset.  She was a little Nazi, but she was mine.”
He laughed. “How was she a Nazi?”
“She would tell on her brother if he was in the trash or doing something he wasn’t supposed to and as soon as she was satisfied that you caught him, she’d run over to the treat bowl and stare at you impatiently till you rewarded her.  But then she would turn around and get into something she wasn’t supposed to and leave the evidence on Tucker’s bed to frame him.”
“Oh my god!” His bellowing laugh echoed around them.
“She would also smack you when you were eating to remind you that she got at least 25% of your food as payment for allowing you to live in her house.”
“She was definitely a Nazi.”
“She was also dramatic. She got my high school personality. I was a theatre nerd back then. The funniest thing she ever did, though, was walk into a room and if we weren’t paying attention she would let out this huge sigh and pretend to faint.”
“She pretended to faint?”
“Yup.  Then she’d turn her head just a little to see if we were watching her performance.  If we weren’t, she’d move dead into our eye line and do it again.” The bellowing laugh returned and he had to stop for a minute as he doubled over.  She smiled at him and waited for him to compose himself. “Tucker was a ninja.  For a 90 pound dog, he was stealthy as shit.  On a number of occasions I turned my back only to turn back around and discover my sandwich or whatever I had been making was gone and Tucker was sitting in the living room licking his lips.  We never did figure out how he did it so quietly.  He also fancied himself a lapdog, but he was my protector.  If he thought someone was there to harm me, he was one tough dog to restrain.  I pretty much just prayed that I could hold him back long enough to determine if I should let him go or calm him down.”
“He sounds like he was a good dog.”
“He was.”
“How old is your Boston?”
“Gally is seven. She’ll be eight in February.”
“What is she like?”
“She’s crazy. She’s got a vendetta against all fuzzy slippers in the world and her best friend is a hedgehog toy that I got her when she was a puppy.  She loves to run full speed in a tight circle or figure eight around the yard…. Or a person…. And she’s klutzy like her mama.  I’ve never met a dog who runs into walls and trips up stairs.”
“You run into walls and trip up stairs a lot?”
“On a regular basis.”
“You haven’t done it tonight.”
“No.  I’m surprised I haven’t.  I’ve had a number of opportunities.”
“Well, the night is still young.”
“This is true.  But remember how we met?  I did run into you and fall down.”
“Into dog shit.”
“Into dog shit.”
“Don’t worry.  I won’t let you fall again.” He smiled down at her and she was sure that he was flirting with her. “So, what about the newest addition?  Denali?”
“She belongs to my parents, but she’s mouthy.  Loves to talk to you and she’s not afraid to tell you off when she’s mad about something. She’s also crazy.  She can spend, literally, hours chasing her tail or playing fetch.  And she chases animals on TV.  The TV is positioned right next to the doorway into the den and if an animal runs off screen, she’ll run into the den to find it.  Of course it’s not there, so she lets you know how upset about this she is.”
“And you live with your parents?”
“Sort of.  My step-dad converted the garage into a little apartment for me.  I’ve got my own entrance and my own bathroom…. A little living room area and a bedroom that’s sectioned off by these really pretty screens that my step-dad made for me.  It’s nice.”
“It sounds like it.” He smiled. “I still live with my mom when I’m not off somewhere shooting a movie or staying in LA.  My whole family and their families live there too.”
“Must be a big house.”
“Kinda.”
“So, you’re close with your family?”
“Very.  My brother is one of my best friends.  What about you?”
“Same.  As close as we are, I tell him constantly that I would sell him in a heartbeat for my niece.  I love her to pieces.”
“You must if you dressed up as Merida for her in Georgia in June.”
She smiled and felt herself blushing that he remembered her telling him about it when he found the picture. “Yeah.  I’ll probably end up spending most of my souvenir money on stuff for her.”
“I wouldn’t be surprised. She is pretty adorable.”
“That’s the thing I’m most proud of: being an aunt.  I love that kid.  And my best friend’s little boy is my unofficial nephew.  I spoil him when I can, too.”
“You sound like me. I love spending time with my sisters’ kids and I spoil the crap out of them whenever I can.”
She laughed. “As much as I love spoiling Hailey, my favorite moments are when it’s just the two of us playing Barbies or going for a walk or rocking her to sleep at night. She’s four and she still likes for me to do that when I’m there.”
“Awe!”
“It broke my heart when she asked me not to leave in June.  She woke up and came to the guest bedroom and curled up with me the morning I was leaving.  She said, ‘aunt Kat, please stay one more day.  I’ll be a good girl.  I love you.’ God, I cried for the first half of the drive back to Virginia.”
“Awe!” Chris wrapped an arm around her and hugged her tightly. “And wow!  You drove to Georgia?  How long of a drive is it?”
“About eight or nine hours.  It’s eleven hours to Kentucky.  I love to travel, so I don’t mind driving.  I would’ve driven here, but I actually won plane tickets in this contest at work.”
“Tickets?”
“Yeah.  I won two.  I haven’t used the other one since Lara was going to use her frequent flyer miles for her ticket.  So, I’ll probably take another trip by myself somewhere.”
“Oh yeah?  Where?”
“Vegas.  LA.  Alaska. I don’t know.”
“Alaska?  Really?”
“My brother and his wife took a cruise there and they loved it.  My sister in law goes a lot for work.”
“That sounds awesome. What would you do there?” “Hike.  Take pictures.  Go ice skating on a frozen lake.  Take pictures.  Maybe try and camp a couple of nights.  Oh, and take some more pictures.”
“Camp, huh?”
“Maybe.  I haven’t been in a long time and I enjoyed it when I was younger.  All through high school, I had to visit my father during the summer even though I didn’t want to. Some friends would kidnap me and we would go to Lake Glendale in Illinois and spend a week camping and swimming and riding horses and learning to shoot a bow and arrow…. Rock climb. It was amazing.  I would love to do it again someday.” She realized they were standing in the lobby of her hotel. “Oh, we’re back.” “Yeah.  I just realized that too.” He seemed genuinely sad about that.
“Uh, you’ve probably got somewhere to be, right?  You were going somewhere when we ran into each other.”
“Oh, not really.  I was probably going to meet Scott and some of his friends for dinner.”
“You ditched your brother for me?”
“It’s ok.  He had just invited me and I was texting him back when I ran into you.” “But he’s your brother.”
“Yeah.  And I’ve had plenty of time to hang out with him. I’ve only got a week with you.”
She opened her mouth to retort, but closed it when she realized what he’d said.  Instead she settled on, “I’m confused.”
“About what?”
“Are you saying you want to hang out more?”
“Yeah.  Why not?”
“Um…. You’re Chris Evans and I’m Kathleen Allen.”
“Yeah.  We’ve done introductions.  It’s the entire conversation afterwards that makes me want to hang out with you more.”
“Do you normally meet fans and hang out with them?  Or am I special?”
“You’re definitely special.  I’ve met a lot of people, but you’re different.  It’s nice.” He called the elevator and held it open for her.  As it started its ascent, he turned to her. “It gets lonely.”
“What does?”
“Being a celebrity.” He said the word like it was a sour candy in his mouth. “You meet people and they know everything about you because they’ve read it in a magazine somewhere. All they want to talk about is how famous you are.  They don’t actually talk to me.” The elevator opened and he held the doors so she could step out safely. “But you did.  You talked and you listened.  I can honestly say that you’ve been one of the best conversations I’ve had in a while.  I’ve loved every second of it.”
She opened her hotel room door and stepped inside. “Well, I don’t know if this is being presumptuous, but you’re welcome to stay and continue the conversation.  I don’t have a mini bar, but there’s room service.”
He grinned. “Yeah. It’s only eight thirty.” He followed her in and shut the door behind him, shrugging his jacket off. “That sounds fun.”
Before she could respond, her phone went off with the James Bond theme.  She quickly pulled it out of her pocket. “One sec.  It’s my brother Killian.” She hit the answer button. “Hey Killi.  No, I’m fine. I went out for Chinese with a really nice guy from Boston.  Yes, I said guy.  Yes, as in male.  No, you don’t need to worry about me.  I’m fairly certain all those lessons will keep me safe if the nice Boston boy decides to attack.  Shut up and put my niece on.” Her face lit up suddenly. “Hey Hailey Bug!  I’m in Boston.  That’s waaay up north from where you are.  I miss you, too.  You’re coming for Christmas!?  That’s so exciting!  Yes, I’m pretty sure Santa will know where you are.  I’ll write him a letter and make sure, ok?” She glanced at Chris with an embarrassed smile. “Yeah, I’ll sing a song for you.  What do you want to hear?  Again?  What about something from ‘The Little Mermaid’?  No?  ‘Frozen’ again, huh?  Ok.” With another embarrassed look at Chris to find he was holding back laughter, she started singing “Love Is An Open Door” with her four year old niece. “Ok.  I love you too, munchkin.  I’ll see you in a couple of months.  Bye!  Yeah. She made me sing ‘Frozen’ again.” She rolled her eyes. “I promise I’ll be careful.  Talk to you later.  Bye.” She hung up and shook her head. “I’m sorry.”
“You have a nice voice.” Chris said.
“Oh, no…. No.  It’s…. Not that great.”
“You’ve had training.”
“What?  How….”
“My mom is the art director at a youth theatre.  My brother and sisters and I are trained, too.”
“My father…. On good days…. He and aunt Dolly taught me.  He sang in a Christian music group around the area I grew up and his best friend, who I refer to as aunt Dolly, was a music teacher.”
“Nice.  You do have a nice voice.  I wasn’t kidding.”
“Thank you, but no. I don’t.  I only sing in the car and for Hailey these days.” She turned and grabbed the room service menu. “Here, you pick something to drink and I’ll be right back.  I need to take my contacts out and put on something besides jeans.”
“You wear contacts, too?”
“Yeah.  Please don’t laugh at my glasses.  I hate them.” She turned and disappeared in the bedroom. When she came back, she was in a T-shirt with minions on it and black yoga pants.  Her long blonde hair was swept up in a ponytail and she had on her half frame glasses.
“You look nice.”
“You’re way too nice for your own good.  I wouldn’t even put the glasses on if my contacts hadn’t been bugging me.”
“Honestly, you shouldn’t be so self-conscious.  You’re beautiful with or without glasses.  And I’ve seen you in both now and can judge that honestly.” He sat down on the couch and patted the seat next to him. “I ordered you some sweet tea.  I hope that’s ok.  It’s what you were drinking at dinner.”
“Yeah.  That’s perfect.” She sat down next to him. “Wait, you wear contacts?”
“Yeah.  Got them in now.  I haven’t had mine in as long as you have, so they’re not bugging me yet, but I know exactly what you were going through.  It’s a pain in the ass to have to wear them that long.”
“Amen!” She laughed.
“So your brother’s name is Killian?”
“Yup.”
“And you’re Kathleen.”
“And my sister Janice is the oddball.”
“And your brother gave you fighting lessons?” “God no!  He only thinks he’s tough.  My cousin Todd taught me how to throw a punch.  My brother taught me how to shoot a gun.”
“Oh.”
“Don’t worry.  I don’t carry.  I can also sword fight.”
“Now why would a nice girl like you need to know that?”
“A friend of mine is really big into medieval weaponry.  He taught me how to swing a bunch of different swords.”
“So, you can shoot a bow and arrow, you can shoot a gun, you can use a sword, and you can throw a punch. You’re officially scary.”
“Thanks.  I consider myself almost ready for a zombie apocalypse.” Her phone started ringing again and this time it was Stewie from “Family Guy” yelling “mom, mom, mom” over and over.  Kate rolled her eyes and got to her feet. “Hi mom.  Yeah, I’m having great fun.  You talked to Killian, huh?  What did he have to say?  Oh, yeah? He’s being dramatic.  Yeah, I did meet a nice guy that took me to dinner. Chinese.  I met him in Boston Common.  Uh, yeah.  I’d say he was.  I don’t know. I promise I’m being careful.  No, I don’t want to talk to him cause he’s just going to have a cow over everything.  I don’t know.  Then tie him up in a closet somewhere till he calms down and realizes I can take care of myself.  You have fun with that.  I’ll talk to you later.  Nope.  Bye, mom.” She set her phone down. “My brother told my mom I met a Boston boy and I’m probably going to move here now.”
“What would you say I was?”
“Huh?”
“You said to your mom ‘I’d say he was.’”
“Oh, uh….” She blushed. “She asked if you were handsome and then she asked if I was going to see you again.”
“That was the ‘I don’t know’ part, right?”
“Yes.”
“Well, change that ‘I don’t know’ to a ‘yes’.”
“What?”
“You’re going to see me again.  Tomorrow. I’m taking you to the game if you’ll let me.”
“The Patriots game?”
“Yeah.  While you were talking to your mom, I texted a friend of mine and got us seats in one of the suites.  Great view of the field.”
“Are you joking? Am I on a hidden camera show?”
Chris laughed. “No. Look, I meant what I said before. You’ve been one of the best conversations I’ve had in a while and I don’t want to see it end.  In fact, I’ve got the next couple of weeks off and I’d love to show you around Boston myself while you’re here.”
“You do?”
“Yeah!  Who better to show you around this city than someone from it?”
“Well, I guess, yeah….” “We can go to the game tomorrow and then grab dinner somewhere and plan our week.”
“Chris….” “We don’t have to if you don’t want to.”
“No, I do want to, it’s just….” A hundred different things went through her head to finish that sentence, but she settled on. “Unexpected.”
“Isn’t that when life is at its best?  When it’s unexpected?”
