I think I did this one for the Before Deluca guys already, so let's try someone else.

Since they have similar tech, and thus would know what it was, we'll go with Pale Blood OCs. Specifically, Ron and Odea, because that sounds like fun.

Ron found it, but he didn't get the chance to dig into it too deep before Odea caught him and snatched it.

"What is this thing, one of your relics?"

"Not mine, but definitely a relic."

It didn't take too long for Odea to work out how the screen functioned, and the lock pattern was child's play for a witch of her skill--a bit like an architect tasked with constructing a pillow fort. Once inside the thing, she had Ron's undivided attention. And while he didn't breathe down her neck he certainly wasn't making her any less uncomfortable with how close he leaned.

"Ron," she asked, nudging, "could you maybe, possibly, give me some fucking room?"

Scoffing, he leaned back, "Gods, hon, no need to get mouthy."

Forgetting the device, she addressed the blasphemy, "What Gods, your Gods?"

But Ron just rolled his eyes and pointed at the thing in her hands, "How about whichever made that thing, can we focus on that thing?"

"Pretty sure it's a kind of netlink, but I don't think any Gods have touched it," flicking the screen, she touched every single app she could find and discovered none of them were terribly interesting, "fuck, even I have games..."

Leaning too close again, Ron sighed when Odea glared, sidling instead to peer over her arm, "Well, what does it have?"

"Boards, looks like, something called Tumblr?" Her eyebrows asked Ron, but he had no idea what she just said and so answered with his own. Odea sighed, "It's mostly text and images. Is this art, propaganda, or...did an AI lose its shit? Oh, here, this looks like the root, their blog. The fuck is a 'blog'."

"You gotta stop with the mouth, hon, it's starting to grate."

"Fuck you, Ron."

"Oh, honey...no," he smiled at the glare that earned him before snatching the device and holding it too high for her to get back. Voice softening for what he found, "It's prose...and, our names are in here?"

"What, give it here," hopping off Ron's couch, Odea managed to grab the device but she didn't get to keep it. Dangling by his hands, she kicked as he chuckled.

"Nice try, hon, but it's my turn..." Letting her down, he huddled over the screen--slapping her snatching fingers away--and began typing before working out how to use the thing's excuse for a camera. "Say 'happy bats'," he trilled before snapping a picture of himself and Odea--who made certain he caught a finger instead of her face. "Yes, that's lovely...your best side."

Posting the picture, and a small message, he tossed the thing in a drawer and locked it before Odea could pry it out.

"The fuck, Ron," She snapped at him, throwing her arms up when he snickered.

"You had your chance, I had my fun...now it goes back to being a mysterious relic." He emphasized with a showy waggle of his fingers, but that only served to make Odea huff.

I saw the Reddit drama. Please explain why Drakgo is a more interesting ship than KimRon.

first, thanks for the ask! second, whoaaaaaaa i wouldn't presume to label one ship more interesting than another. some people will find ships interesting, others won't.

i'll give a diff example. in my other current hyperfixation, soul eater, my friend adores Ship A while i'm all about Ship B. her ship IS interesting to me! i think those chars are the most shippable in the show, they're basically canon w/o PDA, and they are deeply complex both as individual chars and as a couple.

they're just... not the ones i'm hyperfixated on. doesn't make them uninteresting.

what makes a person's brain and heart grab onto one ship and not another? who can say.

a lack of personal interest in a ship does not make it objectively uninteresting, or worse... and a ship having way more attention than another in fandom doesn't objectively make that ship more interesting, or better.

CAN a person make canonical objective arguments for or against ships? certainly.

let's just grab characters from KP to use as example. Bonnie and Brick. canonically a couple for more than one episode! we do not get a lot of canon info onscreen for them, so most of the interest in them would have to come from fan creations. compare to Kim and Ron, who have infinitely more screentime together, infinitely more individual character development than Bonnie and Brick both as individuals and as a couple...

one could argue that Kim/Ron is more interesting than Brick/Bonnie. there's more to grab from the canon at least. but if a person wants to draw/write/talk at length about Brick/Bonnie? why not!

no reason to be hating on any ship. if it's not your ship, then just...don't engage?? especially if you're against said ship.

now me, personally, i find Drakgo more interesting than Kim/Ron. (altho recent convo with @creatorping got my Kim/Ron juices flowing again). Drakgo just appeal to me more as characters, with their gritty backgrounds, a lot more unknowns to explore, the challenge of two villains developing a mutual trusting relationship so they can have a happily ever after... that just grabs my mind and heart more than the perfect girl and her adorkable boyfriend. it doesn't mean Kim and Ron aren't interesting, cuz ohhhhh they are! mostly post-canon for me because...who ARE they, after high school?? who is Kim other than the student who saves the world? what's she gonna do with her life? and what is Ron gonna do? he absolutely can't go to the same college as her, and she can't ditch a good opportunity to go to a community college with him... my hang-up has always been that Kim wasn't given enough individual development onscreen to do anything interesting with her post-canon. but aforementioned convo with Ping changed my mind, heheh. 😏

in any case, the point... one ship isn't more or less interesting. one ship isn't better or worse than another. it's us, the viewer, who either will or won't be interested.

so as i've always said.... ship and let ship. don't like? don't interact. don't hate on someone else's ships or headcanons or POVs... (reddit...)

and, that's not the same thing as discourse. discussing characters, discussing points of view, interpretations... sharing various headcanons... with willing parties who want to enter into that conversation! THAT is a major part of fandom! but it's all in how one goes about it. and! should people come to disagree about interpretations of characters, also fine!

i think the issue arises when people start to act like... my interpretation is correct OR, my interpretation is the only valid one. when people get up on that horse, that's where the problems arise... it can be tough if you feel like you're the only person WITH a certain POV, but... again, if the folks you're chatting with aren't into it, then find other people. i'm in that boat with some soul eater headcanons, but, that's okay. i don't need to convince everyone else in the fandom in order rto enjoy my thoughts. i'll still talk about them, but, not with the idea of telling anyone my view is the only view. that's the antithesis of what fandom is about. i'll talk about them because i enjoy talking about them, to like-minded folk, and on my own blog which is what a blog is for.

and, idk why it shows up so often in the KP fandom, especially the Drakgo side, that people can't simply say "hey i have this headcanon!" and someone respond with "oh that's neat!" and just. happily co-exist. everyone creating their things, sharing their things. and people will like what they like, as they always have, in every fandom. and if they don't like someone's idea, that's fine too!

but it's not worth fighting about?? it never is! it's just not that important. it's fandom. it's fun. it's our escape. if one feels SO strongly against a concept, or ship, or whatever.... then you don't interact with it. you don't make it your mission to disprove the other person. you don't actively seek out opportunities to hate on a point of view you dislike. that's not how fandom is supposed to be. find your people, and chill with them.

let's all be positive in the various fandom spaces.

1. The climax of she-ra w/ catra’s “dont you get it? I love you, i always have! So please, just this once, STAY!” speech and I actually can’t decide if it’s katsuki begging an unconscious deku to wake up or izuku begging an unconscious kacchan to wake up. But either way.

2. Bakusquad singing She’s In Love from the little mermaid stage show — again can’t decide if it’s about katsuki or deku (with the other one as flounder who is Most Upset about Ariel being in love w someone) (only this time it’s themself that is the love interest) (I have both sets of lyrics divided up and available upon request)

3. Say the Word from the mad ones (sorry yes I’m a theatre kid mb). That’s all. I’m tentatively working on an animatic but I can’t draw

7. Atalanta (Greek myth) au — bk was raised by wolves/bears/dragons probably, then gets hunted by a king (mitsuki) who recognises him as his (her) son and takes him back to be prince. Tells him he has to get married, he says okay but Only someone who can beat me in a fight (in the myth it’s a foot race) and if they lose they die. Deku gets help from all might and wins (in the myth aphrodite gives the winner golden apples which distract atalanta, not sure how this would play out in this ver)

8. Howl’s Moving Castle au (book ver). Controversially, I have deku as howl, katsuki as Sophie & sentient OFA as calcifer. I can and Will back this up. (Kaminari as Martha/youngest sister who wants to marry rich and be a mom) & Uraraka as Lettie (middle sister who wants to be rich off her own hard work) (I actually have the whole cast planned out)

9. I’m currently writing a Carrie au. Deku is Carrie obvs. Katsuki is both Sue and Tommy, w Kiri coming in for some of Tommy’s advice giving moments. Decided Toga can be Chris and originally I had aged down!Dabi as Billy at a friend’s request but not 100% sure. Considered switching to mustard but like. We know nothing about him.

10. Barely fleshed out but I’ve seen a bunch of parallel universe swapping quirk fics where fantasy!bkdk or future!bkdk get swapped to the canon verse, including at least one w pregnant izuku and. Pregnant katsuki gets swapped to the canon verse because I think it’s WAY funnier

Asked and Answered (Chasing chapters 2-3!)

These asks have been making my day since I posted chapter two, and life was unexpectedly a lot last month but we're back and ready to rumble, baby. Chapter four is getting a bunch of final edits, but in the meantime I've been getting a KICK out of your questions...

Spoilers, sneak peeks, and theories below!

I'm sorry it took me so long to get to this one, anon! But rest assured I have not forgotten about Kreacher, and we haven't heard the last about selling Grimmauld Place (more on that in chapter 5). From Harry's letters, though, we're learning that George and Ron think they could use a slave someone to do the washing up, which would be a level of such bougie dichotomy in a shitty London flat that I, for one, would love to see.

Dean In Paris is a little arc that I've been so excited to reveal, and starting with chapter 4 we'll definitely be hearing more about it. We still have a lot to learn about his year on the run, too, and what it was like to come out of the woods and reintegrate with both Muggles and wizards... our poor boy's really been through it.

As far as Luna goes, we'll be getting more of their interactions next chapter too (wouldn't be a party without a little inter-house mingling)! We know she's fresh out of a relationship with his old roommate, so we'll see if Dean will go two for two with DA girls 👀

Thank you so much for this question, anon! I promise we'll get some Charlie moments that have to do with Quidditch, but at this point it would be giving away too much to reveal the role (if any) he might have at her first match. Instead here's something a little out of context:

Anon I could kiss you for this question because I don't really write A/Ns for these chapters, but now I get to point out one of my favorite self-indulgent little details from chapter three:

“We’re just going to keep him still until someone gets here.” And she took Kirke’s head between both hands, sliding her fingers underneath to gingerly probe through the back of his hair. “Help’s coming, Andrew. You’re okay. We’re going to get you inside.”

I took that last line directly from the text with the intention of thrusting Ginny back into a moment at the end of DH that doesn't really get resolved or explained. More on that to come, but in this moment Ginny is really triggered by this burden of someone else's safety— of caring for the injured— and the helplessness that accompanies it. I'm really looking forward to tying this in with her ambition to be a Healer, which we learn she discussed with Professor McGonagall months after witnessing her father's hospitalization, her brother and friends' injuries, and Sirius's death. As the youngest Weasley she's been barred from so much of the action, so those moments of powerlessness were made more bitter by the fact that she was trying to do the only thing she felt she could. The panic comes from knowing the only thing she could do wasn't always enough...

Gushing over this question! A theory! About my fic!

I've gotten a few different versions of "where's Binns?", and I really don't want to give too much away because it'll come into play in later chapters, but I will say that the situation is a little more complicated than education reform. The only hint I can offer is that it's been really hard to convey everything that hasn't been around at Hogwarts without drawing too much attention to it, especially through Ginny's limited narration...

Priscus, though! Shame that Ginny would (imo) never canonically take a History of Magic N.E.W.T., so we'll have to settle for hearing more about him from Hermione.

I can't choose??? I've written and posted and read fic in multiple fandoms. I just posted a Jim/Wen coda the other day because their circumstances resonate with me. I was in a relationship once where I wanted to get out for quite a while yet when I finally found the words to say it we still continued to live together for several months because it was such a long ending and oh it was bad. So what resonates with me isn't always just the positives.

Does this mean the first ship I sought out fic in? Because I've been at this for a long time haha. It was Harry/Ron but in my defence I was 14 and going through my first gay crush on a friend.

Moonlight Chicken This show is the moment!! Showstopping spectacular etc. It was made specifically for me. I'm so impressed by how much queer content on Gmmtv has improved just in the past couple of years!!! 2gether was the first bl of theirs that I saw when it was huge but now it can't even hold a candle to most of the stuff they put out. I honestly don't get some of the hate Gmmtv gets. Yeah they have flaws but it's strange to me that some people are still bringing up the same old fetishization and queerbaiting accusations when we had two bls directed by two different trans women just in the past year and half of their directors and managers and writers are gay like what on earth are you talking about at this point.

My School President I just started this because people on tumblr told me to! I'm enjoying it so far! Previous argument still stands, Gmmtv has come so far.

Never Let Me Go I need to catch up!! I'm always and episode or two behind because Nüng keeps annoying me lol. But it's okay!! The scenes are so pretty and I do like the story. I think I'd appreciate it more if I were more familiar with the old Thai shows it's paying homage to, right now some of the nostalgia element is lost on me.

The Warp Effect I'm taking a break because I've had so many transvaginal ultrasounds this year the obgyn content has become triggering to me lol. I hope to get back to it soon!!

What don't I crave, now that'd be easier to list haha. I'm having really bad pms, I want to eat everything while banging my head onto a wall. In other cravings, I'm looking forward to warmer weather. May is my favourite month where I live and I hope I'll have regained my hormonal cycle by then. That's what I crave the most honestly. Hormonal balance!!! I remain optimistic because my condition has improved a lot even though I still get this dull pain. A couple of weeks ago I had to take a valium to calm down and I cried on the phone with my dad so compared to that I'm doing so much better.

On Harry Potter

I'm seeing a lot of posts about Hogwarts Legacy and I'm kind of bummed out that I can't enjoy it. Ten years ago I would have loved to see an open world H. Potter game and I would have counted the days and saved up my money to buy it but now I can't stomach the sight of it.

If you are thinking of buying Hogwarts Legacy I'm not going to give you shit over it and I'm not going to aggressively demand you boycott it. I 100% believe everyone should draw their own line in the sand when it comes to media. Unfortunately I'm at a point where it's impossible for me personally to look at anything Harry Potter related and not feel bitter about how something that was such a huge part of my late childhood and teen years is tainted beyond salvaging.

And it wasn't just JKR's TERF behavior, the whole "word of god" gay Dumbledore thing never felt quite right to me. At the time I ate it up because LGBT representation was so scarce we were lapping up any crumbs we could get but looking back I realize it wasn't even so much as hinted in the text, not even in the later books when she was a big enough name that she could easily have gotten away with it.

There was also the way she reacted to the black Hermione drama.

It may not have been specified that Hermione was white but Rowling only ever specified race for characters that weren't white and it's really obvious in her writing that white is her default and other races are just that, "other". Her response is just so disingenuous. If she had written Hermione to be anything other than white then more than likely she'd have mentioned skin color or race and/or given her a cartoonishly "ethnic" name because that's what she did with the handful of POC in the books.

I think when we're introduced to Kingsley Shacklebolt in the novels he is explicitly described as black more than once because, while Ron's distinguishing feature is red hair and Hermione's is bushy hair and big teeth, Kinglsey's is being black. JKR smugly acting like she wrote a racially open ended character is just nauseating because it's nothing but lip service and I don't even believe her when she says she "loves black Hermione."

Her words, before they became toxic, were empty and her awful views and her blatant meanness are so enmeshed in her writing and worldbuilding that I just can't enjoy the content anymore.

Hogwarts Legacy has come out 10 years too late and there's something a little bit depressing about seeing a thing I would have once been so excited to get become a thing I don't have the ability to enjoy anymore.

first of all: thank you so much! don't get lost in it now! and secondly: i have put off answering this ask for so long bc i find that question pretty difficult to answer. i love way, way too much art. but still it's an opportunity to showcase some that i love. under the cut :) im sorry if this off from what you're expecting (crying emoji)

these are a small fraction of art that tickle my brain, only visual, sometimes inspiration just springs from a non-fiction like an essay, or in the repetition of furniture music, a strange movie with a story but with no discernible plot (the best kind of movie), when you cook a meal etc etc ....they exist where you least expect it........

i mainly do two art styles that, despite me whining abt inconsistency, are deliberate bc they give different moods, and i dont really care if my art doesnt look the same, esp since im not really interested in the industry where style consistency is part of branding yada yada. it’s more fun this way. i'll start with the inks.

one of my favourite mangaka ever is nishioka kyoudai. they're a brother-sister duo that writes these surreal poem-like stories without a plot. once you see it, it's a Very obvious inspiration. when i first got into hypmic, one of the comments i even made then was gentaro feels like a character from their work which lead to no longer human comic later for inktober www thats why i draw him a lot in the style inspired from their art...

another one of my favourites is taiyo matsumoto. art below is from their manga titled tekkon kinkreet, which has a movie ! and one of their manga got an anime adaptation as well....please watch ping pong the animation it's really good (shameless promo)

now for paintings, it's a different world ww most of them are contemporary. i like paintings that depict smth mundane or private. i love tenderness.......i like it when bodies feel like they merge into one, and where the figures' edges become imperceptible unless you look closely. intimism is where it’s at babey!!

Chapter 8: Fallout

Author Commentary

There's a lot going on in this chapter! Let's start with the morning after at Theo's. If it's not clear, Hermione crying is a trigger for Draco, so he's having PTSD as a result. Up until now, he's mostly been avoiding her so I don't think even he would have expected the severity of his reaction to her distress. In future chapters, we'll see this grow into a stronger fixation with her well-being. Protective Draco scenes incoming!

Next there's the morning after at Draco's, where Hermione teases Draco about his apology to her in eigth year. Maybe I'll write a bonus chapter about that scene someday. It's guaranteed to be awkward and sweet.

I won't have time to write that though if I keep letting myself get distracted by the tiniest details of the world I'm building. Seriously... so much time went into figuring out who was on the Wizengamot, naming them, painting random backstories, and then researching how Parliament works so I could bastardize it for the Ministry of Magic.

Then there's the DRCMC... I'll draw up an org chart and add it to this post later. It's detailed.

In the next scene we hear a bit more about how Ginny is doing from Harry. Summary: she's not doing great. This is a huge loss for her, a second brother taken, and this time it's during peacetime when she is supposed to feel safe. I'm very sympathetic to her and do not intend to make this a Ginny-bashing, or even general Weasley-bashing fic, but... this is your warning: this fic will not have a Harry/Ginny happily ever after. Given that I gave Hermione such a hugely traumatic event with Ron, and Harry isn't going anywhere as a fixture in her life, I just don't see how the Weasleys could stay a healthy part of that equation. I hung on to too many people I shared with my attacker for too long and it was incredibly damaging to make sense of their split loyalties. So, I plan to write the Weasleys out of this fic, but I'll try to do it elegantly.

After that brief flash of angst there's another Harry-Draco parole check-in scene!

The possibilities for how to embarrass Draco with veritaserum-induced truth-telling are endless and I will be making use of this plot device at least one more time. Draco's parole isn't up until June, so plenty of opportunities for spilling deep, dark secrets.

Feeling mildly disappointed in my art as of late. I still like it, but on a scale of "Yeah, this is great! I'm sure other people will, too!" and "I can't see anyone else being interested in this but me. There's so many artists I don't measure up to..." I feel on the latter side right now.

I think it's one of those slumps that tend to happen before I find a way to sharpen my skills, but also it's kind of silly to be concerned with how my art may or may not appeal to other people. I can't control that. So I'm going back through my sketch pages for this year and looking for stuff I haven't posted yet that makes me happy.

February: I was watching a playthrough of a Professor Layton game and wanted to see if I could recreate Hinimato characters in my style. I did this about two or three time, but these of Toni and Nicky are the ones that I liked the most.

March: Here's Kenji being a little goofy, a little serious. He can do both. Sometimes. I posted these on Twitter, but I'm not sure if I posted them here.

May: Higgy's sister unintentionally asking him to collab with his rival. Anyone else asking this would've immediately gotten shot down, but her...? He'll think about it. Also, Toni in a cute sweater. I think I drew that on his birthday.

June: Unfinished sketch of an older Angelo and Emil.

July: A Leon, full of love. And some cute Roxies.

September: Toni.

October: I watched a little bit of the game Boku no Natsuyasumi. It's very quaint and reminded me of Toni, so I tried to draw him in that style. There's also a sketch of him with Angelo. I feel like if they were friends, maybe Angelo wouldn't have turned out quite the way he is. And finally, a sketch of Toni and Mai. They could not be more different, yet their friendship is so sweet.

November: Honestly, there's so many sketches here that I love and haven't posted yet, so I think I'm just gonna post them all.

A Maxy I sketched after rediscovering that "Wicked Witch of the East, Bro!" video, an argument he would absolutely start with someone, complete with the aggressive hair bouncing.

I think someone suggested that Leon seemed like a character who would wear goggles, so I drew them on him. Very cute! So cute, that I drew Roxie hugging him.

Every few years, I draw Angelo as Ron DeLite, the most Angelo-like character in all of the Ace Attorney games (as far as I know.) It's truly unreal how much they were cut from the same cloth. Also, there's an extra doodle of Leon consoling Angelo.

Finally, doodles of some of the Hinimato gang as adults, featuring Higgy trying his best to act annoyed that the people he respects most are in his personal space.

These aren't the best things I've made this year. I can't see these standing out to anyone except me, maybe some close friends, but that in itself means a lot. My characters, my art, and my writing make me happy and they will continue to do so even if I'm the only one.

I noticed a few bots that have been using what looks like AI generated text posts that almost manage to simulate tumblr's unhinged energy, but were by and largely garbled nonsense. So I decided to try an experiment in the vein of that one person who discovered Chat GPT knew what Omegaverse and realized it may have scrubbed AO3.

Now I am not an AI expert and this was my first time playing around with the software. I don't even know if it's the program the bots are using so this was more for fun than scientific.

But I feel pretty confident that ChatGPT algorithm has no fucking clue what goes on here.

I tried some recent memes first and asked it to write posts about some popular tags. Apparently most of the data (according to the it's own disclaimer) comes from 2021 or earlier but I didn't figure that out until part way through the test, so I sort of wasted my time asking about things like Goncharov (which it had never heard of it).

It did generate me a very sweet letter from my good friend Johnathan Harker but when I prompted it to write a Tumblr post about him, it seemed pretty clear it was just drawing on public domain stuff. The style it was written in was basically a bad impersonation of a stereotypical fan girl writing an advertisement for the book, which makes sense considering the AI is more intended for things like marketing and trained on things like SEO.

When I asked about Horse Plinko, it suggested ideas for how you could make a plinko game for horses to play but cautioned against committing acts of animal cruelty.

Once I figured out the fact that most of it's data came from pre-2021 I tried some world heritage posts.

It knew Spiders Georg was some kind of meme but suggested it was a nonsensical phrase people throw at the end of a sentence as a joke. The example it gave was "Who stopped the car? Spiders Georg."

When I asked it about how to get shoelaces from the president, it told me it could not help me in the commission of a crime.

As a control, I tested out some old pre-tumblr memes. It could generate Lolcat captions very successfully (using image descriptions instead of pictures). I asked for a meme in the style of "I Can Has Cheezburger" and it described a picture of a cat in a chef's hat with the caption "I made you a purrito because it has love in it, and fur!" and a few other things that made it clear it was at least trained on late 2000s memes. It even gave me a decent Lolrus joke.

The other prompts I tried ("write a post in the style of a cat girl," "write a [post asa furry," "write a thread about Izzy Hands") continued to read all read by posts like posts by influences or advertisements. It loaded everything up with what seemed like the most optimal tags. And that makes sense, since the demand is for content people can monetize. So there is not much of a reason for it to have been trained on the most unmonetizable (and incoherent) sites on earth. I feel like if it tried it would probably do irreparable damage to ChatGTP's algorithm.

My experiments then turned to trying to break ChatGPT's filters on explicit content. They have caught on to the whole "omegaverse" thing and it refused to give me anything I requested with that in the prompt. However, I discovered that if I asked it for a story about "Ron DeSantis on heat suppressants" it would generate that. Nothing smutty, but it did two separate badly written stories about how the governor of Florida was an Alpha who became a more effective leader when he discovered a medical miracle that stopped his heat cycle.

Anime Talk - Kamonohashi Ron: Deranged Detective

Let's start this story at the end of May, when little Jackie had just about finished her exam and decided to go looking for good anime to watch in the Summer season of 2023. After picking out some promising-looking series, she decided to go look at what would come out in the Fall season and then... she couldn't sit still. She was so excited. She in fact almost made a small scream and couldn't think of anything else for the rest of the night. Even now, she gets excited thinking about it.

About a year earlier, little Jackie found an interresting looking manga. She swallowed every chapter as quickly as she could and hated when she had to let it go. She almost wanted to draw out the point when she had fully caught up to the story, as she still had something she could read, but she did catch up and now she is so excited because Kamonohashi Ron no Kindan Suiri (EN: Ron Kamonohashi: Deranged Detective) is getting an anime!

Back when I saw it, not a lot of information was out. We knew the studio, the voice actors of the two main characters, Kamonohashi Ron and Isshiki Totomaru (Toto), as well as the director and a few more staff members (including the original mangaka which has been known from the beginning of course).

Now there is a little more information. The voices of two more characters have been announced as well as one band who will be working on one theme song for the anime. I'll be sharing my thoughts and expectations based on what I can gather on MAL and other Livechart.me. Strap in. This is going to be a long post.

Let's start with the studio. The anime will be done by the studio diomedéa. The most popular series of theirs seem to be Domestic na Kanojo (Domestic Girlfriend). They are also the studio behind Fuuka, a music anime from 2016 which I don't remember being any bad and Ahiru no Sora, a sports anime from 2019 which I don't remember being bad either. On the other hand, they have made Mayoiga, an anime from 2016 with too many characters, none of them getting any proper development, and Binan Koukou Chikyuu Bueibu Love! (Cute High Earth Defense Club Love). Thankfully, they only made the first season, which was actually okay. They have not made anything else for that series and both this and Mayoiga are originals (stories with no original source material) unlike the series we are talking about today. My deduction says that so long as you don't trust the studio to make the story, they can actually make decent anime. None of it is outstandingly good though and I will therefore not expect anything outstanding from them. But if they are faithful to the source material, they will at least have a very good story.

Let's look at the director Ibata Shouta. He has been working with key animation on a number of episodes in Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood and Code Geass, but he has only acted in higher positions in few cases. He was a director of Domestic na Kanojo, so my deduction is, that while he only has little expereince, he at least has experience and as far as I know, that anime is not known as being terrible.

The prospects don't look quite as good with series composer Watari Wataru. He has been the original creator of a few series, and acted as script writer for others, again including Domestic na Kanojo. Now, if it isn't obvious, I have not seen this anime, and I know only little to nothing about it. I can't say whether he is good or bad at his job. I don't even know what a series composer does. I have to assume script writing is included in the job description, seeing as this seems to be what he does normally. He has also been working with the director before, so I am assumiing we can expect an anime of a similar quality to Domestic na Kanojo at least.

As for the man in charge of the character design, Ishikawa Masakazu, he definitely does have experiences with it and animation both. Among other things, he has worked a little bit on InuYasha, while he was not a character designer, I would still use his work there as a selling point. Where he has worked as a character designer (again among others) is Binan Koukou Chikyuu Buieibu Love. As I happen to have watched this series, I can talk about it. As memory serves, the main cast did not have a bad design. While the same cannot be said for the supporting cast (which was generic and simplistic), I have a feeling that this was the point. I did like the designs of the main cast and he has good source material to work with. I have faith that he can at least make the design about as good as the mangaka Amano Akira.

Next, let's talk about the music. which Tsuji You is in charge of. I know absolutely nothing of what he has done. He has only composed music for very few series, but he is not completely unknown. Based on this, I do not expect a soundtrack I will go out of my way to listen to in the future, but I will stay open. It could be I'm surprised.

The last staff working on the anime is the band UNISON SQUARE GARDEN, who will be performing at least one theme song. I assume they will be doing the opening because they are the only ones announced for theme song so far. I could be wrong though, and in a way, I hope I am. Don't get me wrong, I actually like them. I'm not very good at placing music within genre. I just listen to what I like. I think I would put them in the rock category though, and while this does not go out of my vision, what I had expected was something a little.. different, a little heavier to match the protagonist Ron's mind at key points of the story. Then again, maybe they are an okay fit for the series overall. They tend to play rather cheerful-sounding music. I remember them from the ending soundtrack of Kekkai Sensen (Blood Blockade Battlefront) and the 2nd opeing of season 2 of 3-gatsu no Lion (March Comes in Like a LIon). As I say, I like the band, and I know them a little, so I hope that I will at least enjoy the song they perform.

With the staff out of the way, let's talk about the voice actors. I guess I'll share my expectations of the voice I imagine the character has and then I will share whether I think the chosen voice actor or actress can pull it off, based on their past roles.

The titular character, Kamonohashi Ron is first. For him, I imagine a baritone voice for the majority of the time and a particularly deep voice for certain situations, when he gets deranged. Now, can Azakami Youhei pull this off? Well, the only character I can actually remember the voice of is that of Yakamashi Kuuya from Shiori Suna no Aquatope (The Aquatope of the White Sand). He kind of has the voice I'm imagining Ron having normally and while Kuuya's demeanor is almost the opposite of Ron's, I'm not skeptical of whether Azakami can pull it off. Generally, Japanese voice actors are very skilled. He seems to have the potential, so I hope that he will pull it off, and do it well and live up to my expectations. At least, I'm pretty confident he can play Ron as he normal self, with all the quirks that comes with that.

Next is the other main character, Isshiki Totomaru. For him, the demand is not as high, I imagine a higher voice than Ron, so a Tenor at least. The voice actor needs to be able to exclaim a lot, because I feel like Isshiki does that a lot. I honestly do believe that Enoki Junya, who will be voicing Isshiki, will be able to pull it off. He has quite a few very different roles under his belt including Shiratori Mikoto from Ryman's Club, Hoshino Ryou from Fugou Keiji Balance Unlimited and Reiner Braun from Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan). However, the ones I want to highlight the most (that I kknow of) are Kurata Takezou from Kono Oto Tomare! (Kono Oto Tomare! Sounds of Life) and Shimoda from Tenchi Souzou Design-bu (Heaven's Design Team). The voice Enoki did for Kurata is, as I recall it, rather generic, it can be calm but he can also go up in a higher pitch when he needs to. This is even more true for what he did with Shimoda, and the demeanor Isshiki has is somewhere inbetween these two characters, I'd say. So I definitely think he can pull off the role as Isshiki.

Next is Amamiya (apparently she still only has a family name despite showing up quite a bit. I wonder if the Amano-sensei has one in mind). Anyway, I imagine her to have a contralto voice when speaking, but not too deep. She needs to sound like a woman, so nothing too girly, but she need to be able to go into a girly mode. They have cast Hikasa Youko for this role. Among others, she voices Kirigiri Kyouko in the Japanese Dangan Ronpa anime. She also voices Yusa Emi from Hataraku Maou-sama (The Devil is a Part-Timer). I don't remember how Kirigiri sounds in the Japanese anime, but at least I think Hikasa can pull off the demeanor of Amamiya, seeing as she has done the same for Kirigiri and Emi. She also has other roles like these two, but what ensures me that she can do the whole character of Amamiya is the fact that she has also voiced Hokutouzai Minami from Dr. Stone, who, as I recall, definitely does try to pull off the woman-in-love-act. In short, I also have faith in Hikasa and believe she can give Amamiya the right voice.

Now last, but certainly not least, is Spitz Feier. Now, his character was not even announced the last time I checked, so I don't really know what my expectations are. I think I imagine a baritone voice, a slightly higher pitch than Ron, possibly and the voice actor needs to pull off that somewhat teasing tone that I imagine Spitz to have. He is going to be voiced by Yashiro Taku. This man has quite a lot of roles of a wide range. However, we don't need to go very far back in the past to find some worth highlighting. One is Akazawa Itsuki from this fluff bomb, a somewhat playful teasing character who can also be serious and Leon Schache from this two-story-telling anime, a more mysterious character who can also be reliable when he wants to. Based on the roles and the voices as I recall them, I think he can pull it off.

So, let's wrap up this long post. I am enticipating the anime of Kamonohashi Ron no Kindan Suiri, of course, but am I worried or hopeful? I guess I will always be worried because I love the manga and I want the anime to do the original work justice. There is at least a hope that the series will not be terrible, even if the studio in charge has made some mistakes here and there. My expectations are low. If it's just a decent anime that people (and I) dont' hate, I'll be happy. At least there is hope that the voices will be as I imagine them. I guess I place my highest expectations there.

This is not the last you're going to hear of this. I will make a review of the anime once it is out, starting with the first episode. We'll see how that turns out. The anime will be out in October. When I know the exact date, I'll make a short post on that. I'm just too excited to wait any longer, and if I had waited longer, it would have been more work for me. I have already spent at least 3 hours on this post (which is my 300th btw.).

A Shared Bed

Notes: I stared this at like 5am today. I wanted to write something that came from me for once because the last time I wrote based off my own idea was the very first story I posted. It was actually really fun.

It wasn't unusual for you and Ron to share his bedroom when you came over to the Burrow in the summer. In fact it wasn't unusual for you to share the same bed, either. Molly always deemed it perfectly fine, considering you were both boys and all that jazz. She did enjoy hearing you two whispering stories back and forth, your giggles ringing down the creaky staircase as others tried to catch more than a few winks.

Of course, as you two hit your growth spurts, she expected you guys to complain about the lack of space, but it never came. It was clear you two were more than content with the small space and were fine spooning through the night. In fact, that's where you were right now, tucked peacefully under his quidditch quilt, back pressed to his chest. His strong arm was locked across your side allowing him to draw little shapes along your stomach underneath your night shirt.

"Can't sleep?" You turned your head a little. He left his window open letting in not only the breeze from the night, but the moonlight as well. The shimmering light only enhanced his features and caused his eyes to practically glow in the dark. The crystal like blue stole your breath every time you saw them. Suddenly you were questioning if he could feel your heart racing or the sweat building on your palms.

"No. Not tired." His hand paused before lazily drawing a Crescent moon above your belly button. "What about you?" Now it was moving south, slowly inching toward the strings of your sweat pants. You swallowed when his forefinger and thumb grabbed a braided thread and twirled it.

"Brain is too loud." It wasn't a lie. You kept thinking about him. Everything in his room smelled like him and it was making your hormones act up in a way that you couldn't resolve with him laying so close. Tangerine and strawberry was such an interesting shampoo choice for a teenager like him but damn was it quickly becoming your favorite smell. You turned your head to face his pillow and tried to take a subtle sniff -maybe it would ease the thoughts rampaging your skull.

"Wanna talk about it?" Ron's scooted closer to you, his legs bending into the back of yours, his hips pressed flush against your butt. He somehow got closer, his chin coming to rest on your shoulder. His voice was such a soft, deep whisper it made you shudder against him.

When you shook your head no and shifted your body against the mattress, one leg crossing over the other, he took in a sharp breath. Your rear grinded back against his pelvis.

What Are You Doing Here?!

Fluff Warning: mention of character's death (but not really? idk) Prompt: Based on @thatawfulsnapeboy 's post and this illustration by @ershebet that I saw later, which I needed to write into it XD Word count: 1213 A/N: I don't know how to write a eulogy. Sue me. Also, I wanted to write something funny but this got serious as I wrote it. Idk I just let it take its course lol. Couldn't write a full fic but I hope this little one-shot(?) suffices :) And I know this isn't my best work but I didn't hate it too much so I posted it lol

3 days after the battle of Hogwarts

"...he was a beloved friend, a caring professor - which you might find hard to believe," he chuckled. "But most of all, he was the most... unlikely guide. Today, we mourn the loss of so many of our friends and family - Fred Weasley, Remus Lupin, Nymphadora Tonks, Colin Creevey, Lavender Brown among many others, and Severus Tobias Snape, who was undoubtedly, the bravest man I ever knew."

As Harry finished, a few sniffles were heard from the students, but McGonagall was sobbing uncontrollably. As he walked toward Hermione and Ron, McGonagall approached him, saying, "Thank you, Potter. I know your relationship with Severus was... complicated, but I don't think I could've brought myself to speak about him. After how everything went down..." She broke out into heavy sobs once again, and Harry gave her an understanding nod, allowing her to take her leave.

As she walked away, she bumped into a man, nearly losing her balance when she did. His large hands grabbed her shoulders, steadying her, which led to the loose sleeves of his robe rolling back. He was quick to react but she didn't miss the scar on his left arm, immediately drawing her wand out and pointing it at the man.

Minerva's actions had drawn everyone's attention to the two of them. His hood hid his face as he looked around, and he raised his arms in surrender, not wanting any conflict.

"You have some nerve!" She shouted. "Showing up here after having been a death eater!"

Several others reached for their wands as they watched the scene unfold. An exhausted sigh came from the man in the dark robe, and a hoarse voice was heard.

"I didn't survive that stupid snake's attack to be killed by my friend," he sassed.

Minerva's eyes widened in shock at the familiar voice and she lowered her wand as the bystanders watched in confusion. To anyone else, it wasn't evident since the voice was much rougher than it once used to be, but to Minerva, it was unmistakable.

She slowly took careful steps towards the man, her head tilting as she tried to get a better look under the hood of his cloak. His hands pulled the hood back, revealing his pale face and dark hair that fell to his shoulders, covering the scars on his neck.

"Never thought anyone would show up for my funeral if I'm being honest," Severus said, looking around at the confused crowd surrounding them. His eyes stopped at Harry, and he fought back a small smile as he watched the Boy Who Lived (again). His eyes scanned the rest of the crowd before settling on Minerva's tear-stricken ones. "Please stop crying," he said softly as he took a step towards her.

She let him envelop her in a (very awkward) hug as he attempted to calm her down. As she finally calmed down, the situation sunk in and she shoved him, scolding, "You have a lot of explaining to do!"

"Okay, now I regret coming back," he said, earning a glare from the elder lady.

"What do you mean you regret coming back?! You better not tell me that you were considering not coming back!"

"...umm no?"

"Severus Tobias Snape!"

"Hey, what are you middle naming me for?!"

"Severus!"

"Okay, fine. I was not planning on coming back."

Harry had made his way through the crowd and was now standing behind McGonagall as he asked, "What changed your mind?" Severus frowned at the boy chiming in but then mumbled something that was barely audible.

"What was that?" Minerva questioned.

He sighed and softly said, "...all my stuff is here."

Minerva glared at the man on hearing his response but lost her composure when the man refused to meet her gaze. She cracked up and Severus let out a discreet smile as he watched her laugh. Finally catching her breath, she said, "You've looked Voldemort in the eye as you lied to him, but refuse to look at me when I glare at you?"

"You're terrifying when you're mad," he muttered, causing her to burst out into laughter once again.

Minerva had retired to the castle and Severus posed next to his grave as a floating camera flashed next to him. He turned to Harry who was giving him an incredulous look. "What," he asked flatly. "When else am I going to get an opportunity to pose next to my grave?"

Harry simply shrugged and said, "I still can't believe you're here."

"Wishing I'd stayed dead, Potter?"

"Not at all," Harry replied quickly.

Snape raised an eyebrow at the boy and could sense there was something that he wanted to say. "What do you want to say? Just spit it out."

"How are you alive? I saw you die."

He paused and pondered on how he should've answered that question. After a good minute of silence, he said, "I don't see how that's any of your concern." The look of frustration on Harry's face led to a grin forming on his as he shoved his hands in his pockets.

A small smirk formed on Harry's face as he said, "Fair enough." He raised an eyebrow at the man and teased, "So... my eyes, huh?" Snape's eyes widened as he recalled his last words to the boy and the fact that Harry had seen his memories. He narrowed his eyes at the chuckling boy and scoffed.

"Oh, I should've just bought new stuff over the years," he groused as he pinched the bridge of his nose. Just as he was about to walk off, a hoard of people swarmed him, with Rita Skeeter front and centre with her Quick Quotes quill.

He turned to glare at Harry who threw his arms up defensively and said, "I don't know how they found out." Severus let out an exasperated sigh and turned back to the crowd as they began questioning him.

"How did you survive?", "Did Mr. Potter stage your death?", "Did Voldemort spare you to help him rise again?", "How long had you been playing the double agent?"

Severus just sneered at them before returning to his stoic expression and saying, "I'm just a figment of your imagination, honestly. Watch." He made a bunch of hand gestures before pointing to the sky and drawing their attention to it. As they looked at the sky, he apparated from in front of them and Harry had to hold back a laugh as the reporters looked at each other in confusion while looking around for him.

Apparating into the potions room, he saw Minerva who seemed to have been waiting for him.

"You stayed there longer than I thought you would," she teased.

"A near-death experience changes a man," he joked. The sadness in her eyes returned momentarily before she shook her head and said, "You have a lot of explaining to do."

"Must I?" He whined.

"Yes, you must. I'll put the kettle on and you can tell me all about it."

He sighed and agreed, knowing there was no winning against the woman. "Alright, but this stays between the two of us. Not a word to anyone," he said.

"Okay," she answered, walking into his office.

"Not even your beloved Potter," he warned.

"You have my word." She assured as she pulled a chair for him, smiling from ear to ear, happy to not have lost another dear friend to the war.

"Trash of the Count's Family" Review Series: Chapter 1

Trash of the Count's Family Manhwa: Chapter 1

Regarding spoilers: I am writing my reviews from the perspective of someone who knows the whole story of TCF Part 1. However, I will try my best to avoid giving away future twists and plot points, and will only allude to things being hidden or explored later on. I hope that is okay with everyone.

We start with the image of burning candles on a golden chandelier – once again reminding the audience that this family is loaded.

Someone calls out for Cale, and I noticed that the order of events is switched here from the webnovel. There Cale is woken up by Ron, and becomes aware of his transmigration right in front of him, calling out "Cale Henituse?" in confusion, making Ron think he is drunk. I admit the manhwa handled it with a bit more grace, making the scene flow more naturally by having Ron arrive while Cale is in the bathroom. It's always a bit awkward when a transmigrator obviously acts out-of-character and yet the people closest to them don't seem to realize it.

Speaking of awkward: I decided to make an awkward-meter. From now on, I'll be ranking awkwardness on the scale of 1-5. 1 is barely noticeable, 5 is extremely obvious. It's mostly for all the upcoming "no-eyes" or "one-eye" shots. And trust me: there will be A LOT of them.

There are a couple of images where Cale is wet from the bath – yes, fanservice once again – but I'd like to focus on how well the water drops and puddles are drawn. The water isn't colored blue, so there will be moments in the future when it'll be difficult for the author to make it visible when someone gets drenched. However, it still looks quite realistic. Well done.

Next we see Ron Molan for the first time. I've seen some fanart drawing him with a mustache, which made me wonder if he was ever described with it in the novel. However, I never found any evidence of it. Thus, it makes sense that Ron doesn't have a mustache or a beard, even though those are considered quite "butler-y" to have.

While Ron's smile is perfectly polite, the artist somehow managed to convey a sense of danger and slyness in it: I'm truly impressed. On the surface he might seem like a nice old man, but as Cale explains to us, Ron is a skilled assassin with a merciless nature.

Cale acts nonchalant while making plans to send this dangerous man off with the protagonist of "The Birth of a Hero", Choi Han. Ron gives him a sideways look which simply screams "Danger!!!", so Cale is understandably anxious.

Another servant comes in (is it Hans? It seems like Hans... But I'm not 100% sure, since he wears a different uniform later on) and Cale is dressed up for the day. Due to his request of something simple to wear, Cale gets a white shirt with a frill. Cale admires himself and decides that the body he's in can make any clothes look attractive, and let's be honest here – he is 100% correct. Cale Henituse is a looker.

Cale passes a number of servants on his way (once again emphasizing how freaking rich this family is) and – oh look, it's those lamps on the left! The lamp which Choi Han used to beat up OG Cale in the last chapter! Haha, I guess those things are popular. I dub thee the Lamp of Enlightment, lol!

A servant nervously stutters when greeting Cale and he's displeased with the realization that she's scared of him (btw, the disgusted face he makes honestly looks hilarious). Cale contemplates OG Cale's character once again, noting that he wasn't known for hitting servants: he was trash because he liked to drink and play. While it all sounds very simple and straight-forward, for the first time the audience gets the sense that there is something more going on with OG Cale's reputation. Why is he regarded as such a scary individual if he didn't hit his servants? An element of mystery behind Cale's predecessor slowly enters the scene.

Cale decides it's for the better if other people leave him alone. He enters the dining room where his family is waiting for him.

I once read an interesting post on twitter regarding the meaning behind the sitting places in this image. While I think it might have been unintentional on the artist's part, it's still something neat to talk about. The table has 10 places ready (for some reason...? I don't get why there would be set dishes for empy seats. Maybe it's supposed to be a Rich People Thing), with Count Deruth sitting at the opposite end on the table. His wife, Violan, Cale's step-mother, sits on Deruth's right, while Cale's younger siblings – Basen and Lily – sit on his left. However, there is an empty space between Deruth and Violan, implying that it was left for Cale. Whether OG Cale usually took that spot or not is unknown, but if one were to read deeper into this, we could conclude that it symbolizes Cale's status in the family as Deruth's rightful heir... which directly contradicts the information Cale provides us in his next inner monologue.

Cale tells us that his step-mother and siblings avoid him and apparently find him difficult to handle, judging by their scrutinizing stares. Of course, there's the possibility of Cale being an unreliable narrator here and sees only what he wishes to see. He expresses that it's the perfect environment for him to live alone quietly; however, he doesn't consider the very likely possibility that they're only looking at him like that because he's acting WEIRD. Being literally a stranger to them all, Cale takes a seat at the end of the table, far away from everyone else. If OG Cale usually sat between Deruth and Violan, then no wonder they would take notice.

And now, finally what I've been waiting for: let the Misunderstandings(TM) begin!

Cale eats some sausage and smiles thinking how juicy it is. That by itself is apparently quite unusual, as Basen looks completely shocked at seeing Cale smile. Cale remains oblivious to it.

The Count hesitantly adresses Cale, who comments that the food is delicious. Cale's father is shocked by this, as he had been expecting Cale to say that it tastes like trash. Despite his confusion, Deruth nervously expresses joy that his son is enjoying the meal. Cale casually returns the sentiment, much to the consternation of everyone else. Cale is unaware of the atmosphere and thinks how nice it is to be trash as no one is criticizing his manners.

Cale has no intention to be the Count's heir, as it would be a complicated life which would take a lot of work. He'd rather peacefully laze around as the Count's older brother. Meanwhile Basen is nervously looking at him, and has no idea that Cale is currently plotting on shifting the Lord of Territory position onto him. Cale thinks it's a forgone conclusion, since his character is "trash". But things with this family do not appear so simple from an outsider's perspective.

Cale, you oblivious potato... you should learn to read the room!

Anyway, Cale finishes his meal and Deruth asks if there's anything he wants. Cale thinks for a short moment before asking for ✨money✨. We learn that Cale very much likes money. Deruth agrees as Cale's siblings watch Cale with confusion in the background. They look so cute.

Cale's "innocent" smile switches to the image of Cale being completely shocked at the amount of money he recieved from the Count. Cale realizes just how unbelievably rich this household is, and starts to reconsider his options.

Cale asks Ron about the date, and Ron informs him that it's the 29th of the third month in the 781st year of the Felix Calendar. Basically – it's March 29th, 781. Cale realizes he has to hurry, as Choi Han will soon arrive in the city.

And that's the end of the chapter! It was very nice, I liked it even more than the last one. The art style is gorgeous, and the comedy comes across very well. There were no particularly awkward shots in this chapter, and every person's clothing style was different and unique, even the servants. It was very well done. Loved it!
