I have a question for the fanfic writers among you: How do you treat your work in progress when a very similar story is put out there? Do you go on writing - in the spirit that everything is unique in its own way - or do you abandon the piece - in the spirit of preventing 'superfluous' contributions?

Let's add a further wrench into the process by saying the recently published work by another author, so similar to your own, seems so much better written than your own (granted we are always our own worst critics). Where do you go with that?

Maybe this is a question for readers, too. Do you mind reading similar works/story lines?

Out of curiosity and also guilt over my own coffee intake. I wanna ask:

Now I'm not talking about when you're studying and so you drink 3x the usual amount or something like that. This isn't me asking what your record is. I'm talking about the most basic, average day, how many coffees you drink?

#is needing parental permission for books from the adult section specific to this library or a common practice? #do you need parental permission to read crime and punishment or is it just the gay books #i started reading crime novels after i'd read everything in the teen section and there was a lot of murder in those books #i didn't consult my parents

Finnish words are pretty popular as brand names in Japan. (A while ago a finnish beer media couldn't register Kippis Media because kippis (cheers) is already trademarked by a japanese home design company.) Today I learned there's a bl publisher named .Poika (boy in finnish) haha. Their tag line is in the presence of love everyone is a boy. Torille 🇫🇮

Sometimes I wonder how people survive without obsessively thinking about fictional realities. Could not be me. Thinking only Real Life stuff for a whole day???? I would be dead.

#my brain goes into a loop where i start hyperfocusing on pain sensations which only worsens those sensations #so obsessively thinking about fictional realities is actually the healthier option for me right now #today before bed i started feeling weird like a flare is about to happen #so now i'm reading bl manga on my phone at 3 am because otherwise i'd lie awake monitoring my body 😓
