"It's for our funds" Johnny insists

"But-"

"No buts, once we reach like $100 I swear I'll cut the line. I have faith in you"

At this point Jaehyun can't say anything that would stop Johnny. He's thinking about bringing in his last card but he'll save it for the last minute so for now he says yes.

Come the day of the festival, word got around that Jaehyun was going to do the date booth so ofcourse the line was long by the time he arrived there. Johnny right in front calling even more students to join while Haechan stands beside him collecting payments.

"Oh here's our star of the day. Okay so who's up first?" Johnny was answered with tens, maybe 20 or more screams from the crowd. Jaehyun shoots a shy smile before going behind the booth.

It's only the fifth girl before he heard the shouting from somewhere in the back.

"JOHNNY J. SUH I SWEAR TO GOD YOU BETTER RUN" Jaehyun hears you before he could see you. He then looks at Johnny, seeing the nervous look on his face and an even more scared Haechan beside him.

"You're on your own, hyung" Haechan mumbles, hiding behind the 6 foot tall guy.

The girls at the very front and the one Jaehyun was just talking to turns their heads towards you, seeing what the commotion is all about.

"What the heck is this?" you ask, eyes blazing.

"A booth"

You stare down the guy taller than you, giving him a chance to change his answer. "Oh come on, it's for our frat funds. And Jaehyun said yes" Johnny says

"Well" Jaehyun interferes making the three of you look over at him, Johnny shoots him a look while you glare at him. He knows the anger isn't really directed towards him, but you can be very scary when you want to be.

"I doubt that, this whole thing has yours and yours name written all over it" you point at the double AA and triple AAA brothers

"How much do you need to raise?" you ask "Like hundred dollars" Haechan answers

You pull something from your back pocket, a crisp hundred bill before putting it inside the jar Haechan was holding.

"There, done. Show's over people. You, let's go"

"Yes ma'am" Jaehyun gets up from his seat, not needing to be told twice. Following behind you.

When you were a few booths away, he catches up with you. Pulling you back by you arm.

"You're not really mad at me, are you?" he asks

"Depends"

"Hey, I swear I told Johnny no. I was gonna tell you about it but honestly I just wanted to watch you rip at him" he tells you with a smile, his dimples showing.

Just like that you feel some of the annoyance and anger melting away. When you don't say anything back, Jaehyun takes this chance to step closer to you. Holding both of your hands in his.

"Don't be mad, please?"

You roll your eyes at him, all is forgiven already.

"I'll buy you ice cream?"

"WIth two scoops?"

He smiles, intertwining your fingers together before leading you towards the ice cream stand. "Two scoops of cookie dough with extra chocolate drizzle just for you"

"You can't still be mad at me"

Currently you, Jaehyun and Johnny are sitting outside a cafe just to hang out. Even though Johnny gives you headaches half of the time, he is a very good friend of yours.

"You'll be surprised with how long I can hold a grudge" you answer back

"I gave your boyfriend back"

"Exactly, he's mine so stop using him for profits" you bite back, Jaehyun listens quietly beside you. His arm resting behind your chair.

"We got that pingpong table from the car wash benefit we did last summer, we're trying to get a pinball machine next" Johnny says

You do remember that frat event. You've never seen so many girls and some guys line up for a carwash done by a bunch of frat boys. Yuta definitely put on a show, Jungwoo also had fun being the adrenaline junkie that he is following whatever Yuta was doing. Mark and Jeno were more shy about it but had one of the longest line.

And Jaehyun, well safe to say you made him wash your car a few times until the line behind you got tired of waiting for their turn. You were debating whether to cut their water supply line but you know Taeyong would scold you so you didn't.

"Go find someone else" you grumble

"Okay then let me ask you, let's say you're in a cafe inside with another friend and this other friend got cold. Jaehyun's the only one who got a jacket, is it okay if he lends her his jacket?" he asks you,

Jaehyun smirks from beside you, waiting for your answer.

"Do you enjoy having your head attached to your neck?" you ask Johnny

"Come on, will you?"

"Of course not! Did your mom not raise you to always bring a jacket in case it gets cold?" you sassily ask back

"I don't see you bringing a jacket around" Johnny counters

"That's cause I have a Jaehyun. She can get her own boyfriend to borrow her jacket from, but until then have fun being a human popsicle"

Jaehyun smiles, his hand absentminded drawing circles on your back as he listens to you.

It's endearing to him really. To some it might sound like you're too much, too jealous, maybe even insecure but Jaehyun knows it's the opposite. And if he's being honest, he's way worse than you. If sees a guy even looking at you for a second too long he's right behind you hovering, a silent warning to back off.

When in public together, if he's not holding you he'll always be a step away. At parties he would be attached at the hip with you, even going to the bathroom to guard the door for you.

If positions were switched he'd be livid too if he sees you in a dating booth smiling at a random dude. Only he can make you smile, only he can make you blush and laugh and moan.

Shaking his thoughts away, he looks over at you still arguing with Johnny. Noticing the breeze got a bit colder since the sun is setting, he shrugs his jacket off to put it around you

"Oh my god, I cannot with you two" Johnny says as he watches the two of you. Slipping your arms through the sleeves, immediately smelling Jaehyun's perfume around you.

"Like I said, I have a Jaehyun"

It's finally the end of a long week, you invited Jaehyun over your place to cook dinner and have an indoor date to end your week together.

The two of you love cooking together, when you first started dating you used to cook for him and bring him packed lunches. Then one time he invited you over to cook dinner for you. At some point cooking became part of date night and it's now one of your favorite things to do with him.

While Jaehyun stirs the noodles on the pan, he feels you hug him from behind. You stand on your tiptoe to kiss him on the jaw, earning a smile from your boyfriend.

When it's just the two of you, you're more clingy towards him. In contrast with your strong personality around his friends, you're more soft spoken and gentle when it's just him around.

"Your birthday is coming up, what do you want to do?" you ask him

"Do you want to go on a date? It's valentines"

You shook your head, stepping to the side to look at him. Jaehyun peaks down at you, "You don't want to go out?"

"If that's what you want, we can celebrate valentines some other day. I want to celebrate your birthday" you tell him.

Jaehyun smiles at you, rubbing his nose against yours before giving your lips a quick peck. He can't get too distracted since he's still cooking. He burnt something before when the two of you forgot about the ramen you were cooking and got busy making out on the kitchen counter.

In his defense he craved you more than the ramen.

"Well if that's the case. What I want for my birthday is to go on a date with my favorite girl"

You smile at him, "Anywhere or is there somewhere you want to go to?"

"Can I plan it?"

"But it's your birthday"

"And I really want to take you out on a date, give me your day and consider that the best gift you could give me"

You look at him, he looks back at you waiting for you to fold. When you roll your eyes at him he knew he won.

"Fine but I'm getting you another gift, you can't say no!"

The two of you enjoy dinner, cleaning up afterwards before putting on a movie you're not really going to watch.

You'll give it to him, a record time of 4 minutes after the movie starts before he pulled you on his lap to kiss you breathless.

"That's a record" you mumble when the two of you broke apart to catch your breath

"What?" he asked, still dazed

"You made it past the opening credits" you giggle, tangling your hands behind his neck to pull him closer to you until he's a breath away.

"I was trying to see if you really wanted to watch the movie" he smirks, holding your hips down against his

"Liar, you would've distracted me whether I wanted to watch it or not"

"Okay you got me there, but what can I do. I just want to kiss my girlfriend all night and all over. Am I not allowed to do that?" He smiles before capturing your lips again, then he's leaving a trail of kisses along your skin. From your lips to your cheeks to your jaw down your neck. His hands now under your shirt to grip your waist.

"Yuno Jeong, believe me when I say this you are allowed to do all of that to me whatever it is you have in mind right now"

"You, you're all that is in my mind right now"

what’s the reversing effect and reversed reflection? i’m a bit confused from this point, i looked a bit into one-way glass and im still confused yeah :P

somewhat unrelated but this theory is SO` much to me if it’s true bc i’ve been wanting to write aaravos povfor ages and it would basically solidify that 1. aaravos can see out of the mirror when the other side is still light as long as his side is dark (it wasn’t clear in canon if both sides had to be dark for him to see out) and 2. he can tell when he’s being watched and 3. i just find it interesting that he would have possibly been watching runaan in this case so yeah odsjfsdkafasldjfsldkf so yea i’d really like to learn more about what it means/is based on 🙏

Aww I love this old theory! The tldr is this: when someone's reflection in a surface is backward from how it should appear, there's magic involved.

We see this happen multiple times, but not everywhere that it probably should, so it could just be a repeated animation error. Still, it's been entertaining to think about, all these years.

Runaan's reflection should show his chest markings and broken horn on the other side of his body if this was just a normal mirror reflection, but instead it looks like we're looking directly at him, instead of at a mirror image. It could've been a single error with his reflection, but since I found more like this, it made me think the mirror might be up to something.

Rayla's reflection in Ethari's sword is actually correct - but Ethari's is wrong. You can see his fringe right there in the frame, yet it's not reflected correctly, it's oddly on the far side of his face, which should not be possible unless magic is at work. Or, again, animation error.

I thought this might have to do with the fact that he ghosted her, and the Moon magic was affecting the reflection. But in the pond outside the tree house, both of their reflections are correct. So hmm.

And here's Viren, before and after "activating" the magic mirror. If you watch his hair specifically, you can see his reflection goes one way, and then the other. This felt deliberate, and made me think there was something to the other scenes, and to the idea as a whole.

When the dragang looks into the mirror back in the Storm Spire in S4, everyone's reflections are correct, but we don't get a shot of them just as the mirror is turning on.

In the end, it's inconclusive. It's very possible that, in earlier seasons, more reflection errors just happened and no one caught them, but as time went on more of those scenes were animated correctly. Time will tell, but honestly I've set this theory down as "it's really fun but I don't think it's canon."

As for your points, I would love for Aaravos to have the power to look out anytime he wanted to. His powers are diminished, but he's still incredibly gifted with magic. If he could see out at any time, that gives him so much information to work with! He would have seen any conversations that Avizandum and Zubeia had. He'd have seen Zym's egg. He'd have seen Viren pondering how to turn the thing on.

And just like you mentioned, he'd have seen Runaan getting coined. I've checked - the mirror was definitely pointing in such a way that an observer would have seen it happen.

These are all situations that give Aaravos information, which is his bread and butter when he's trying to get what he wants - freedom. So I do hope he can do that.

One thing he can definitely do is your 2nd point, though! When the dragang and Zubeia turned the mirror on in the Storm Spire, Aaravos immediately knew even though his back was to the mirror, and he turned around to approach, seeking who had activated it.

The way that little spin immediately told on him for fooling Viren back in S2 though 😂 omg. All that business with adjusting cloaks and going in and out of doors and pretending to search the shelves for a book but just leaving instead, and the great dramatic reveal that Aaravos could also darken his room and see Viren, thereby catching up to the great and clever human mage and owing him everything for making contact... it was all for show!

Aaravos knew Viren was there from the very beginning, just like he knew Callum was there, and he led him a merry chase, getting him curious and intrigued and hungry for power before closing the trap and binding them together with the caterpillar spell that resulted in Sir Sparklepuff and a (hopefully) foolproof way to free him from his prison as long as the human played his role.

Oops!

The mirror is broken now, so we might not get any further lore or interactions with it, but it sure was a fun magical artifact. I'm never going to look at a reflective surface quite the same again.

Astarion to Dante:

I think at 1st they won't go well together, as friends or as dates. I think the differences in how they approach people is a river that the other may not be able to cross.

I think Dante finds Astarion's flamboyant nature to be annoying but he quietly just deals with it. He also observes a lot and may find Astarion suspicious.

Astarion is a cunning man and Dante can smell that from a mile away. He has trust issues and the 2 of them would've likely tried to attack the other, if Dante was the one who makes a spicy rebuttal or if Astarion was tricking or gaslighting Dante (to bite his skin lmaoo)

The only way they'd probably bond over something is a mutual agreement on revenge. And also something at least utilitarian/useful to benefit one another besides a shared goal.

Another thing that could make them get together in a more intimate level is that Astarion can acknowledge Dante's sexuality. Anyone reading this can interpret this anyway they can. But I believe both Astarion and Dante are hedonistic, and physical desires are itches they want scratching. And Astarion could possibly do something about that young sex drive Dante has. And I think Dante's not off about how anything goes, if the both of them play their cards right. Or with lots of pizza and booze.

Astarion to Vergil:

This one gets complicated, or specifically their particular psychological traits (and issues) are gonna come into play with these 2.

I think at first everything looks smooth at first glance. They have a mutual understanding of one another and respect one another. You almost don't hear anything bad about how the other thinks on the other. They're both very classy people, they're into playing with semantics and probably acknowledge the other for their tastes.

But even them being acquaintance is very surface level. Vergil behind the scenes is secretly working on making background checks about Astarion, his life, his former relationships, his stats, etc. Vergil is careful about him, but he doesn't show how he's skeptical about this elf-vampire.

Astarion on the other hand has always been dry about their mutual-ness, if that's a word. He's entertained by this young genius with high standards and he gets a kick out of trying to break Vergil's cool sometimes, especially if Astarion can try to go skin deep (or literally try to sink his fangs)

I think their bond is going to be very complicated. Astarion knows Vergil's type: he has a keenness for control and not wanting to submit to anything. And Vergil knows that Astarion is the type who will do something unpredictable when backed against the corner.

Perhaps Astarion can roleplay around and make Vergil feel like the boss of him as a one time only thing, if you catch my drift. Vergil, on the other hand, doesn't mind playing and learning some secret tricks so long as Vergil is getting some benefits. But after that, they're relationship remains in this ice-cold social game of chess, where they appear like everything is hunky dory.

From almost a year ago; what multiple scoliosis looks on me

So, my hip is a lil bit slanted and that makes one of my legs longer than the other; and so my spine tried to balance things out by turning into an S-shape. I never really considered it a disability because I can go on with my day most days without pain, even when the doctor who diagnosed me was like "yup, if you have kids you're gonna suffer even more and by 40 you'll probs need a wheelchair";

however, there are moments after walking for long periods (or really just bad days) where my hips hurt so bad I just wanna pass out, trying to walk real fast makes my right hip make a popping sound and it's painful, like a cramp. When I am with people that walk faster than my top speed (most of my friends rip) I either gotta try to keep up and bear the pain or stay behind watching the distance between us grow. It's really isolating in that sense. I can't lift more than 15k without my back resenting it later (I can't carry one of my dogs :( ) and let's not talk about sports that involve running 😂 I used to dance and that in of itself was a challenge for me; I'd be so sore after each routine, even after warming up. Wearing a back-brace(? Support thingy helps when sitting down for long periods but other than stretching exercises, there isn't much I can do about my fucked up back

Sometime all September and October last year I was going through a very hard time dealing with body image issues. Tbh, I'm still am. So I did the very logical thing of taking some pics and painting them. This was the first time I had ever done some sort of portrait and it was cathartic in a way; I encountered the idea that my body will never look a certain way because of my back issues. I have always had "love handles" more noticeable on one side than the other. I'd think that if my back was a bit straighter, I'd probably not have them at all. The amount of times I've tried to stand as straight as possible, trying to get them to disappear... yeah, that's embarrassing. But oh well, surgery isn't really an option for me so I gotta work on making peace with them🫠. Which is something I want to work on, so here's to that!

Anyways, I spent a good chunk of this month thinking if I should post in this so here it goes aaa

I have this friend, we bonded over role playing and her shitty relationship with her ex andddd turns out she likes me🫠 anddddd I’d also liked her for a while- butbutbutbutttttt we’re in two different continentssss andddd I can’t an explain how I feel for her but I love her sooooo much and like, what if we have a horrible breakup? I couldn’t live without her. I’m being so fr rn😖 Today would make it one year since our first text with each other, and she sorta confessed last night.

It was so funny, I wanted to flirt so I asked for a tmi or sumn and she says she imagines what it would be like if she got with any of her friends and she got embarrassed then she got emotional and I got emotional (we’re both on our periods, party) and she was being very conflicted and didn’t want to say it directly because she didn’t want to believe she wanted to have romantic feelings for me (she’s bi dw, no internalised homophobia here✨). At a point she wanted to try to not feel like she was dependent on me so she STOPPED TEXTING ME GOOD NIGHT AND GOOD MORNING 😭 Horrible times, we survived thankfully. But yeah she was scared I’d act differently because I know of her little shenanigans but I couldn’t care less, I like her too, but I believe it goes deeper than that yknow?

What's the deal with DTI anyway??

Lol Newcomers are like WTF is going on here? lol

DTI, or Delaying the Inevitable, was a LONG series I wrote when I first came to the fandom. It was an Ethan x Casey x Tobias triangle that became a bit controversial because (spoilers below)

I had Casey end up with Tobias. lol Ethan stans were displeased and I got aaa lllooottt of hate anons at the time. Back then, I cared, today I am like 🤷🏻‍♀️.

My initial plan was to write 3 endings, one where she chose Ethan, one where she chose Tobias, and one where she moved away from Boston, leaving both men behind. But as the story progressed, I realized having her take Ethan back after what transpired in the story did not make sense for my character, but more importantly, I got a ton of anons from women who either left or were considering leaving emotionally abusive relationships thanking me for writing the story. I was also (HORRIFYING) getting anons saying Ethan could do anything and Casey should forgive him because he was “damaged.” In the year of our Lord 2024?! (Well it was 2021 then, but same thing.) 😂 yeah, the feminist, girl power chick in me was like oh fuck no.

I am very proud of the story because all the main characters went throw growth, change, and came out better on the other side… but Casey picked Tobias. And some people are still not happy. lol

2024 Elsa is all, oh well. 😂

Honestly, I am just shocked that it is still thought of 3 years later. I am kind of proud of that.

Oh, and for the record, I am not an Ethan hater at all. The fandom’s BS Ethan discourse has soured me a bit, but I don’t hate Ethan. I think he is an incredibly complex character and, handled correctly, makes a great LI and for delicious storytelling. But in DTI, he crossed too big a line and he was not ending up w the girl. I said what I said. lol

I have to admit that I, too, think Raphael would be a little ... tense about the emotional parts. - Definitely trivialize them and attempt to hide them while making it all about deals and power play. It needs a courageous (and/or teasing) Tav/Durge to get some more telling reactions out of him. I would love to see a hint (or more than a hint) of jealousy from him. Of course, none of those mortals is a match for him, he doesn't care if you have another little romance going on. He says. 😁 It would be very neat to have a possessive love scene with Raphael right after things start to become more serious with one of the other companions. He won't demand you to break up with them of course, but claim you as his. And then let you keep "your toy". (For now.) At least that's something I could imagine very well in this regard. Hehe, I think most of them will tell you it's a risky game, some even strongly and vehemently disapprove (Wyll, Karlach). Astarion, I assume, will at least pretend not to mind at all and tell you to have fun. But he rarely admits to his true thoughts in those matters after all. Halsin probably would be the only companion actually and genuinely relaxed (or mostly) about the whole Raphael situation. (Aaa, don't worry at all! I love to talk about him and my headcanons, I can never shut up about him. 😂💗 We're at 170 signatures! 😌)

18, 23, 29 for the ask game!

18. Do you use any tools, like worksheets or outlines?

nah. i'd love to, don't get me wrong! there are some beautiful worksheets out there and i like the idea of having all the information to hand for sure, but i just can't make myself do it. it's too homeworky. i can't even use scrivener's character templates, i put the name in and then everything is random dot points in no order. i use all my organisation at work, i don't have any left over for home 😂

i guess i do outline longer fics/original stories, but it's not with a guided tool, it's dot points all the way down. i often don't outline until i'm midway through writing the story too and "outline" can be pretty generous. this is from my "aaa priorities" document (which functions as my calendar and quick reference guide)

the fics are in order of what my priorities were last time i thought about it and i haven't updated the Prince of Grief one that i finished over the weekend, so you can see what i had there as my outline for the ending that's been sitting there for a casual 4 years. evanescent idolatry's outline goes on for pages and pages though. which is part of the reason i haven't written it--because i've already fucking written it 😂

23. If you were to revise one of your older fics from start to finish, which would it be and why?

the one that's on my mind rn is Prince of Grief because as i say i finished it over the weekend and i'm not gonna lie, rereading it was REALLY painful. i didn't let myself edit it because i wanted to FINISH it, but i did have to go in and correct john's quirk, which i'd used incorrectly. what, did 2018 laura not have the time to check the wiki? she didn't even think she needed to, hubristic bitch that she is! and oh my god, i overused CAPS LOCK. that's not even addressing the way i leaned heavily on dialogue because i hadn't learned how to balance it with prose yet, as well as like a million other things that hurt me as i was rereading.

apart from that, maybe Elevatorstuck! it's not a particularly long fic, but i was unspeakably proud of it when i wrote it and the concept remains solid. i like the timestamp format and there are times when the writing is pretty good too, but god. i didn't know how to write john back then. a couple of years ago i went through and got rid of like 80 million exclamation points and i think that improved it, but it'd be cool to do a rewrite with all my 2024 mad skillz.

29. If you could write the sequel (or prequel) to any fic out there not written by yourself, which would you choose?

to be honest, i think the "inspired by" function of ao3 is really underrated and there's nothing really holding me back from writing sequels/prequels of other people's fics. i mean, i'd ask as a courtesy, but i know if anyone wanted to write something based on my fics i'd just be super flattered and want to read it!

i suppose Social Norms aren't the only things that get in a way of a "could", so my answer is actually BONES OF BLACK MARROW by oxfordRoulette. it's hands down the coolest fic ever and i think about it constantly. the reason i can't do this is because the story is perfect in its shape and there isn't a need for a sequel, but also because the creativity and coding know-how required to do what they did with the formatting is simply beyond me. i have on multiple occasions shown people this fic as proof that fanfic is Real Art

Here's some spoilers and discussion about my initial thoughts on Kingdom Hearts 2 below.

Nearing the end of my KH2 journey... I'd say this has probably been my favorite game so far, out of KH1, CoM, and now this. Overall, I'd say I like the composition of the story of CoM a tad more, but goddamn if the intro and outro haven't gone especially hard on KH2 (also has just generally been littered with several moments that have made the characters very endearing). And the gameplay... woo, actually is super fun. I love the love put into the reaction commands, and every fight is like a movie.

I got past the Roxas fight after like... 40+ tries, and was regretting immensely I decided to play in Proud mode. Never got frustrated at my boy, though- was just filled with respect, and it's seriously the best fight in the franchise thus far for me for giving well designed attacks that I felt were effectively telegraphed. I'm not quite sure how/why Roxas led Sora into what I assume was an internal battle, since he already seemed reabsorbed within Sora's being, but I can only assume Axel's sacrifice (since that happened right before this fight) must've reawoken him, in a way ("Tell me why 'he' chose you!") Poor Roxas has been having his life stolen. The Nobody dehumanization is such shit, dude. Roxas banging on Sora's braced keyblade over and over with that level of ferocity is fueled by such obvious rage that it's undeniable. God, he's living in my head unapologetically.

Meanwhile Xigbar was also... a fight. Less filled with respect, more frustrated about that one, lol. (I thought the sniper mechanics were pretty sick, though. Felt like I was doing Orbonne Monastary in FFXIV again). Can't help but assume several of these Organization members may maintain relevance in future installments in some way, since several seemed to have implied information/backstory that remained unrevealed prior to their disappearance (looking at you, Xigbar [casually referencing that there's been other Keyblade wielders before dying with zero explanation] and Saïx). The next game, 358/2 Days, looks like it's dealing with the Organization in what I assume is a prequel, so maybe backstory will be there?

Kairi and Riku have made my heart warm, and the whole trio's love for each other is honestly so sweet. I keep thinking about their reunion scenes and it's just... aaa, I feel crazy about it. When Kairi lowered Riku's hood and saw the face of Xehanort's Heartless and Riku looked so ashamed (then it cut away?? how dare), when Riku shielded Kairi with his body from Saïx's attack, when Kairi hugged Sora and said "this is real" because 😭 girl your abandonment issues and unachievable desire for constancy are making me feel things, and she's been struggling with the phantom sensation of forgetting someone she cared about for an entire y e a r, so having that confirmation... man. *Staring out to the ocean*

Felt so bad for her that Sora was so awkward about the hug she deeply needed, and didn't even realize the absence of the music until Sora reunited with Riku. 😂 And... oh my god, haha, that part got me. Not surprised that the Sixth Sense kid can pack a gut punch, ofc, he's got a long history of films making me weep, but like... "I looked for you! I looked everywhere for you!" While Sora was crying on his k n e e s and grasping Riku's hand like a lifeline was such amazing emotional payoff. Like, I've been joking with friends about Sora's unwavering "Riku, Riku, Riku" throughout the entire game, but damn if that didn't do a good job of making me invested via Sora, goddamn. I'm so happy my kid gets to see his silver haired punk again. And wowie, they're such a power duo? Their limit break "Eternal Session" is legitimately one of my favorite limit breaks alongside Vincent Valentine's "Satan Slam," from FF7 now. The synchrony of the dance where they pass off the weapons to each other, smooth as butter? Them going "back to back" between the different phases of their LB? (Which is adding to my evaluation of the poems from CoM I've had in the back of my head the entire damn game, by the way...) The clash of their keyblades, and the duality red-blue color scheme? Be still, my artistic heart, they're too much. For this, and the honestly impressive expression and facial rigging for what is a PS2 game, I want to give the animators a smooch.

All I want now is to know where tf Riku pulled Kairi's Keyblade from, and how she's apparently a chosen wielder too. Like, okay??? But where? How?

Oh, also would like Riku to see someone about his hand, that doesn't look too comfortable. My guy can be a badass all he wants, but if he doesn't drink his milk, put an actual cast around his wrist, and bit of work leave off from world-saving shenanigans, he's gonna be a certified hero with post-traumatic arthritis 10~ years down his little road to dawn. Apparently working for Ansem the Wise doesn't provide great health coverage.

I love this character, I have defended his case for a long time~ he’s so complex and gets a lot of flack for being how he is— and a lot of people’s only impression of him is from Underverse but even that Ink version is misunderstood in his actions, I think it’ll be cleared up in future episodes~ he’s chaotic, afraid of being forgotten and alone again, and his backstory is just so sad man :,) he gets depicted to be an evil scapegoat, which in my own opinion does a disservice to what he could be~ and I hope to show ppl that with my upcoming fics 😆💜

So first I do love canon aroace Ink, I feel like that’s the most true to form for him, it works very well narratively too (aside from, haha, soulless reasons). I just have head canons on “what ifs” I use for angst and cute fluff scenarios that are just fun to see him in Xd Error or Dream are who I go for with him, but I’m open to several others thanks to artists I follow who expand on the ideas (like Ink with Gin!Sans or x-Tale!Sans)~ I alternate between having him uninvolved romantically and involved depending on the story I’m telling and the interesting relationships that are relevant

Non-romantic OTP is also Errink XD they’re just chaotic and a good fit for each other’s…quirks XD their banter and rival relationship is fun to write and read~ (His friendships with Dream and Blue are my bread and butter, it hurts to see any of them against eachother in fics :,) aaa let him care about friends! the vials help him have a normal range of emotions that are his, even if they’re allotted without a soul present)

Unpopular opinion: people constantly do him dirty 😂 for every fic of him being his decent but still chaotic self, I’ve seen 6 with him kicking babies (not literally—but I wouldn’t put it past those Inks). Some ppl also hate that he’s a Sans…but don’t care to see why he is, or see his backstory~ People can have their own opinions, I just think he gets a lot of unnecessary targeting that is out of spite more than genuine interest ^^’ he’s a gremlin I am not denying that, but he’s not evil! I get having to do it if you wanna make the bad guys look better; I disagree, but we’re allowed to both do our own things! and at the end of the day it’s just fiction squabbling, not serious

Uhhh I’m not sure? I adore “canon” Ink as he is, and his story ^^ Comyet is a sweet person who just created an amazing piece— a nice counterbalance to Error for UTMV stuff and the potential for a greater story because of that! Ink is very versatile character, and a fantastic narrative tool that makes the AUs feel more connected. He’s a vessel for typing the whole thing together and something I would argue a story like the one the Undertale fandom’s Multiverse needed. The UT fandom is unique in that all it’s AUs form a greater story to a whole, with shared characters and “ocs” created being traded around and molded and accepted into the bigger narrative like one giant group rp. It was as if it was destined something like him would come along, and I’m very glad he exists for it. He walks around as almost a parallel to Flowey: a soulless being who found a way to still feel and how that effects his relationship to other people. How he decides to still act mostly good even in his chaotic neutral way, but he’s learning morality without an inborn compass for it. It’s probably one of the deeper reasons I love Ink, with all his little quirks. Aside from him being complex and fun to write and a relatable creative spirit.

Well you know what overhaul would do. HAHA. He'd treat you even more like his little patient. Dress you in a surgical gown and sit you in his exam room so he can do all the tests to get to the bottom of whatever illness you have (even if it pronbaly is just a simple cold.)

Imagine him snapping on his gloves real menacingly as he approaches you, your legs dangling over the edge of the table. He'd constantly be looking down at you with a glare, but he's really worried you know? Secretly. Deep down.

He'd make you open your mouth and point a flashlight around, then he'd check your nose- maybe shoving a q tip up inside to send off for tests. He'd lift up your gown and palpatate your tummy, it's super embarrassing and weird. He pokes and prodes and asks "Does this hurt?"

Oh and he makes you pee for him. You claim you can't go? Fine. He starts pulling out a long tube and lubing it up. If you won't pee for him then he'll have to use a catheter. Bad utis can travel to your kidney and kill you, don't you know? It'd be so horrible, you'd beg for him to just let you go by yourself but it's too late.

Next? Rectal thermometer maybe? Sniffling as you're forced to bend over the table and hold yourself apart for him. Or maybe some breathing tests. Maybe he'll get you on a treadmill with some monitors attached to your body and make you run until you almost collapse. The tests are endless. 😌😌😌

Oh poor, poor you. You're miserable. No matter what bug you caught, it's no fun freezing your ass off on the plastic covers of one of his examination tables. You can barely keep yourself up - and he doesn’t care that the lights are too bright, that you’re shivering and trying to curl into yourself. He’ll make sure to bark something at you the moment you try to lie down - this is his domain and he’ll tell you what to do and when. Don’t you even dare to sneeze without his permission. And you’re so right- you tell him exactly what’s hurting, what feels wrong - but he’ll still make you do a dozen tests that are painfully unrelated to your issues. He just likes to see you suffer a little, likes to see your little tired eyes cling to him like he’s the only thing in the world for you... I feel like he would barely let you get enough rest, even if he doesn’t require your presence - it’s all about making you a little more uncomfortable, to slow down the healing process. He likes you hazy and dependent and pliant. Why not keep it that way for a little while longer? And torturing you a little is just the proverbial cherry on top. He’s going to hold any sickness you ever had over your head for an eternity, too. Even months later, if you dare to push back a little, if you dare to show signs of disobedience - get reading for him to play it up as though he saved your life with all his nonsense. One would think he brought you back from the brink of death with how he twists his words around, it’s infuriating. But imagine if you catch something that makes you... expel any sort of bodily fluid. A fever is almost cute to him, you’re just woozy and disoriented, hell, you’ll even try to cling to him with how out of it you are. Yeah, you’re sweating a lot but that’s nothing - nothing compared to phlegm, pee, vomit or other waste. I feel like doing all these fun little tests would be easy when you’re not an active germ factory. Because once he gets even a speck of snot on him, he’ll break out in the meanest hives you’ve ever seen. I feel like if you keel over after every sip of water to puke it out again, he’d simply lock you into your room. Lets someone else bring you food, water and medicine. As long as you’re breathing, you’ll be fine. If he comes to see you, he’s gonna be red in the face with strained effort and act as though you’re a walking biohazard. Makes snide little comments about the air (as though you have window! You should be glad to have a functioning ventilation system) and keeps his distance. But as soon as your state clears up a little, he’ll make up for all those tests missed... He has to make sure you’re really getting well again, right?

1) favorite roles by Daniel Brühl: I couldn't choose only one 😭 so here's my as-short-as-it-can-be list.

- Niki Lauda in 'Rush' is guaranteed for the 1st place. I'm not a fan of F1 nor have any knowledge about it at all so I cannot say if his depiction of Lauda is accurate or not, BUT he gave one hell of the performance. Until this day, I'm still amazed how he could channel his emotions and his acting under those make-up & prosthetics. The hospital scene was a highlight. Solid AAA+++

It's sad to know that not only his fans were disappointed (in the Academy) because he didn't get an Oscar nomination, but it affected Daniel as well and it hit him really hard (according to his ARTE documentary). I know 2013 was a year filled with masterpieces here and there in every aspect, especially actors, I just wish he could get one among other nominees as well.

- Laszlo Kreizler in 'The Alienist' because there are uncountable amount of inner conflict in Kreizler. Again, I haven't read the book so I have no clue of the original, but I really like how he portrayed the alienist at that time. The healer of the mind who couldn't heal his own. A doctor who was capable of inflicting pain on others, even though it's unintentionally (he's a victim of domestic violence). A man who wanted honesty from others by telling them to face their demons but he, himself, couldn't bear the pain and face his own.

- Alex Garel in 'Eva'. There were so much subtlety, so much nuances in his performance, very repressed (in my opinion, which is totally in-character) and it paid off in the end (shoutout to Sergi Belbel, Cristina Clemente, Martí Roca & Aintza Serra who were writers for this movie.)

- Escherich in 'Alone in Berlin' because he could convince me, make me feel sympathetic for the inspector.

Man, I'm such a sucker for genius with different sides and shades in one person. Complex characters are my thing. 😂

Writing/drafting this after spending most of my day in bed. Real life promptly kicked my ass and I stupidly decided to fight back 🥲 Violently. And I won but at what cost??? Lol, you want to know how sorry I am?? I decided to move my bookshelf today from one wall to the other (after waking up and feeling like I’d been fallen down a flight of stairs) and was out for the count!!! Thinking even hurts a bit I won’t lie...

I talked a good game about my release plans for the rest of the year and now I’m crying from fatigue. I don’t know when the extended content will get released. I’m extremely sorry and honestly extremely frustrated so it’s a fun cocktail...

That aside, let’s focus on the positives. It’s been such a treat reading the reviews from players (and 100% humbling to have people comment on the lingering typos not derailing from their enjoyment of the game...😂 honestly, if people are cool enough to tell me shit is misspelled, awesome. I’ve already added your note to my running list of things to fix the next time I update the files. There’s even a fun bug someone discovered that I have to squash!!! 🎉)

It’s also been super cool to see players who are vocal about their love for Lydia’s route. I didn’t see it coming! I knew that in this narrative gaming space with the genre I wrote in, the girls would most likely be sidelined and I made peace with that way back when. But the story I wanted to tell didn’t work with just Langston and Ryan...or more that it felt incomplete somehow? So I crossed my fingers that I’d find my footing along the way. 

On top of that, the amount of players saying that they get cozy vibes from HSDJY?!?!!?!? Cozy games are G.O.A. T, argue with ya moms

THIS IS THE BEST CREATIVE FEEDBACK I’VE EVER GOTTEN ON ANYTHING AND I WILL HAVE A BIG EGO OVER THIS FOREVER!

I’ll do a proper postmortem in a month (...maybe 2) where I’ll objectively look at the past few years working on HSDJY and note what I can improve on for the future. I want to be critical, not just with gameplay and the lack of accessibility options (hoping to get help with that sometime in the near future) but also where the writing and story is concerned. It’s still a bit too soon to start tearing things apart 😂 also writing this dev log is already pushing the envelope LOL!

Anyway. If I’m repeating myself, I don’t care. Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank to everyone who read these things, who interacts with this blog (or itch.io or Twitter or TikTok). Thank you for being excited for the game, for playing it and leaving reviews. I want to continue making games and while I’m not pursing the AAA studio dreams I had before, I think this is a much better deal.
