When you have the (reasonable) fears or doubts about some of his ‘friends’ he just laughs and says that theyre harmless!!

When you ask atsushi about it he tells you about that one time he was assigned to work with kenji and how he absolutely REKT those gange members

You never question kenji about his friends after that,okay maybe not never but you do it significantly less.

He knows your ability is hella strong so he doesn’t really worry about you keeping yourself safe much.

And after you get a bit of training from the agency members he’s even more sure of you!

But if by chance you get captured or are in actual active danger,he loses his cool.

He wants to protect the people he cares about but he also knows he needs a clear head.

So after Kunikida gives the team a plan of action,kenji leads the charge.

If you’re in mortal danger he may not even wait for the agency to give him a plan of action.

Kunikida knows he cant stop him so he just sends atsushi and dazai with him.

For dates, other than the aforementioned restaurant trips i think he’d love taking you to parks or places close to nature.

He’d teach you everything he knows and would tell you all about his family and farm

Loved telling you about his cows tbh.

He also gives really tight hugs!

Like the kid will pick you up and spin you around! I mean he can, so why would he not!

the way tell me that you love me speaks about deaf people's experiences needs much more praise and i hate that people arent giving this drama the attention it deserves!!

in this scene, they describe in a very simple way how lighting plays a key point for deaf/hoh people,, lip reading is hard enough as it is so when the lighting is bad it gets 10 times more difficult to keep up

however it was this other scene the one that hit close for me

i dont think hearing people really grasp the implications of jinwoo's words here,, i genuinely feel like this many times at some point i just go with it and move on because i feel like im being annoying (which i shouldnt but i cant help it) and if thats me as a hard of hearing person imagine how a deaf folk might feel

[if you ever make a deaf/hoh person feel bad or uncomfortable when they ask you to repeat yourself then you are a big asshole]

HEY YOU Hit me with some Julie Su propoganda cuz I'm mostly lukewarm on her character and don't know all that much about her.

OK OK ... well baseline info she's the daughter of dark legion general luger, and half sister of lien-da and kragok, who are twins and both high ranking legion soldiers. when their mother (merin-da) died and luger remarried, ld and kragok hated his new wife (julie-su's mother) (mari-su) so bad they orchestrated her death, info which was they kept on the DL for a long time until js eventually found out about it. memory situation, js is raised by other folks who actually love her and doesn't learn who her blood family is until later. she joins knuckles because she feels inexplicably drawn to him (soul touch) (echidna soulmates) so she defects from the legion to join the chaotix. the soul touch thing sucks and i hate it but this is how it goes. ill talk about my au version of her at the end lol bc things ive built on top of canon are part of the reason why shes one of my fave charas in the series lul

ANYWHO i honestly find it pretty frustrating when people talk about js as just being pink knuckles, shoehorned into the story to give knuckles an obligatory girlfriend, because it really demonstrates that they like. weren't paying a lick of attention to anything because she genuinely has a LOT of personality but since people just go in anticipating anything penders touched to suck they don't even bother to think about her for longer than half a second.

js fills a niche that, imo, could always use filling, especially with regards to girl characters, which is to say shes a well meaning asshole. shes incredibly blunt, she's pessimistic (immediately assumes knuckles must be dead when enerjak returns and they cant find him, tells knuckles not to search a fallen ship that his mother was on because shes probably dead and she doesnt think he'd want to see that). shes terrible at handling interpersonal conflict (knuckles confesses to her that he feels guilty and stressed over all the pressure put on him as guardian and she scolds him and says "this isn't just about you", which results in a minor shouting match when she really had zero intention of starting an argument), she's almost constantly beefing with vector (tbf its because hes sexist he refuses to see past her history as a member of the dark legion). these might suond like cons but i love characters like this LOL and they fit especially well in archie where people love to get mad at each other and make dumb mistakes and it just feels very genuine and interesting and endearing to me. shes rough and difficult but she's also DEEPLY loyal. she'd die for knuckles and the chaotix and the way she interacts with them always makes me soooo ........ im just gonna give some examples i can find.

^ this was the genuine conclusion of an argument they had and im obsessed with it because both of them suck with emotions so they both give the worlds strangest apology and know that the other means it and they move on. plus putting her arm in front of SHADOW THE HEDGEHOG while theyre confronting eggman even after watching him CHAOS BLAST, primarily because she feels like this is more her fight than his (its about knuckles).

theres def more and i could find them if i was more on top of archie but unfortunately im #narutopilled rn. BUT ANYWAYS. shes just a very fun character with a messy personality and fun interactions and she loves her buddies sm even tho she bickers with them. shes just very special. she fits well with knuckles in a way that makes their relationship actually feel plausible instead of just forcing him to have a girlfriend (tho ofc the writing is fumbled sometimes like. ITS ARCHIE. bffr. but thats the case with literally everything ever in archie so you take what you can and its amazing). also see below. BASED AS FUCKKKKKKK

and ill discuss my au briefly bc u r asking me my opinion on js and that does play a large role in how i feel abt her, but rly im just expanding on elements of her story that werent discussed as fully as i wouldve liked. her relationship with lien-da is obviously BAD in canon, but theres not a lot of time spent lingering on precisely how lien-da and kragok feel about julie-su as the product of their fathers second marriage to a woman they KILLED because they hated her so much. ive also given her much more internal strife over turning away from the legion, originally joining the chaotix planning to betray them from the inside then being slowly convinced to join them for real after realizing how much she'd been brainwashed by the legion and what its like to have people who truly love and care about you. her story as someone who is trying to find herself outside of her history as a child soldier is something that TOTALLY deserves to be expanded on and its a bit sad that it wasnt explored. but i mean really im not changing her actual PERSONALITY at all because as i discussed shes oozing with it.... im honestly never going to make the full comic i wanted to so at some point im just going to compile all the lore and concept art and stuff into one big post to share. but thats like a spoiler free taste.

she also has a gun. which is fucking awesome because not enough sonic characters have guns. people make shadow the guy with a gun but he hasnt been seen with one since shth. hello....

If you watch DBZ then you see that like...

We See Ttunks and Goten separately before we see them interact.

TRUNKS: He is a lively kid. He is excited to see Gohan, and thinks very highly of him. He did think that the Saiyaman outfit was cringe however. He trains with his dad. He seems to have fun being himself. He seems happy and confident.

GOTEN: ough god hes sofunny. He is VERY energetic and very loving. Partly due to age and partly due to who his father is, he is pretty thick-skulled. Definitely naive. Not a pushover, holds his own, but he does defer to Gohan's direction, trusting dearly.

GOTEN & TFUNKS INTEEACTING: immediatly we see something change in Trunks. Goten is the same but Trunks changes. I think it's becasue the expectation of the tournament changes him, hes in public, hes wearing a certain face, etc - but when he was informed that he had to fight in the Junior Division, his voice dropped an octave and he says to Goten smth to the effect of "you hear that Goten? What a load of barnicals."

It makes sense given who Trunks's parents are that he knows how to trash talk in a fight. It also makes sense that Goten didn't know what he was hearing when Trunks was spitting shit with that blond-mullet kid.

Trunks isnt even that particularly arrogant, but hes defintiely a kid who is behaving how he thinks he ought to, I.E. doing the best with what has been modeled for him.

Bless his heart - he didnt even know enough to know to go easy on Mr Satan. No one fucking tells this kid anything.

Goten has no tact or finesse. His father is a genius when it comes to battle, though he had his sloppy moments as a youth - but even accounting for that, Goten isnt the prodigy that Goku was. Unlike Goku, Goten has genuine hobbies and interests other than fighting, so he just cant dedicate all of his soul to that.

And he just lacks tact and finesse. It's becasue he's 7 but to be honest he is 100% DEFINITELY EXACTLY LIKE THAT in DBGT as well.

Goten shoots that kamehame-ha and destroys a bit of the building. Meanwhile Trunks has the foresight to Not blow up the audience with his ki blast. He also had the good sense to suggest that they stop using ki blasts. Trunks has received good training. Meanwhile Goten is out here just going for it

Trunks has a set of inner rules that hes following: he has guardrails: he has a sense of order, he understands where he is in a hierarchy, his spirit is being tamed.

His inner rules are things like: keep it cool, dont let them see you sweat, listen to your parents, have discipline and control in battle, stay resilient, stay prideful, WIN HARD, keep it cool, do what you're supposed to do; the rules for the regular folk dont apply to you becasue you're cooler; do well by yourself, earn your keep, earn your pride, be sneaky and dont get caught.

Meanwhile Goten's inner rules are more like: BE POLITE, mind your manners, always stand back up, be fair, listen to what Gohan says, live and let live, be nice to everyone unless they're mean to you, dont hesitate to defend yourself when you feel slighted.

Goten's rules foster more self-direction and intuition, whereas I feel like Trunks's rules get him all shaken up in the long run. They're less in-the-present-reality based.

When Goten walked out into the arena, he was amazed at how many people there were. Every time he won, he was bashful, and gave a bow.

When Trunks entered the tournament grounds, he slung his bag over his shoulder and walked like his father. He kept his arms crossed against all the other contestants, feeling slighted at having been placed in the junior division to begin with.

Trunks really felt that he deserved better than the Junior Division, and he wasnt wrong at all; but the fact that he saw that, felt that way, and acted on it says a lot about the sorts of values that hes growing up with.

I feel like if it was just Goten, he would have accepted that and had fun.

When Trunks gets to be with just Goten, he becomes a lot more spontaneous, eager, and happy. But he changes when the eyes are on him. At the same time, hes used to people, living in the city and being rich and all. I guess that's why he knows how to behave around them. Or maybe hes just shy like his dad.

Goten didnt know how to act in front of all those people, so he just acted like himself..

But also, Trunks isnt perfectly natural around Goten, becasue he does like to be better than him. Becasue he expects it. Becasue he ought to be. Becasue his dad tells him so. Or, rather, implies it.

BUT when Gohan asked Goten how strong Trunks was, Goten sang his praises and said that he won Every Time. But when Vegeta asked Trunks how strong Goten was, Trunks gave a modest answer, and said that they were pretty well-matched, and he explains their discrepancy likely being due to just age.

IDK. These details fascinated me two years ago when I first saw it and I still like it. It's a good show....

DOMES! so- what can u tell me about the space and education domes. I'm so interested. Why are they separated based off of activity? Are all the domes in a giant ish dome? ALSO WHAT DO MARTIANS FARM. POTATOES? what kind of recreational activities are in the recreational dome?

Also what are the fatal flaws of your ocs... I love finding out about this stuff if u cant tell. Any funny (or otherwise) story that any of them would tell about another to like describe one of them? (that sounds very confusing but basically when I introduce folks that are my idiot friends, I give a memorable story that makes people go "ah, that's such a (friend name) thing" (e.g. One of my ex friends from school ate her essay out of spite - she wrote it on rice paper and wanted to spook the teacher)

And yes I've seen the whole "I think I'm attracted to you because youre the hottest person I know" so AMAZING JOB- I love ur ocs!!!

I'm gonna do the flaws first bcs it won't take as long so:

Martha: gets sad cuz she doesn't have a specific 'thing' like the rest of her friends (jenny's the tech guy, Evelyn's the animal guy) and she gets sad cuz she thinks you need a thing to work in and aspire to in order to live your life to the fullest

Tammy: doesn't think. Like at all ever. No internal dialogue nothing in that brain half the time she's just playing rock music on loop. Lights are on but no one's home except the lights aren't even on

Jenny: builds little robots and then gets existential about creating a pseudo life to fulfil one singular purpose. Continues to build little robots anyway.

Thomas: internal dialogue goes 100 miles a second and so when he has to take a second to actually think he just. Blanks. He also has awful memory due to things getting pushed so far back by unrelated tangents

Genji/James: has a mullet

Aled: catastrophises a LOT and overthinks literally everything he's just handing Thomas a hair bobble and he's like 'wait is this elasticy enough. Oh no there's a hair on it oh no. What if my hands sweaty what then-' baby girl it is a hair bobble

Georgie: previous break ups have left her feeling like she isn't interesting enough, now she has to always give her two cents or else she thinks she's forgettable

Dane: ~\_(°u°)_/~

Sahrah: given her uniqueness as a weird fucked up entirely new species she feels like her life has to be perfect so that her mother species doesn't get a bad rap, especially since her mother is the first of her kind to live in mars. Also she's really supposed to be a litter animal but she was the only one who survived to birth so she's lonely a lot of the time

Fun story: Martha says 'the first time me and Tammy met was when she needed someone to show a dead bee to. She asked me if I wanted to pet it'

And ... DOMES!;;

educational dome has the schools and colleges in it, a few corner stores for hungry students, it's not that interesting other than the fact that there are geese for some reason

Space dome is basically just space science stuff, it's got telescopes, research for crops, rockets, exploration base, it's also the original dome! The very first one built by the robots they sent here so that the researchers had somewhere to stay.

What kind of crops do martians grow? Well, any they can get there hands on, there are several small climate controlled domes used to grow different things, deserty, tropical, whatever Ireland is, and some animal domes that rotate various animals and grain, it's also home to the farm house that hosts the majority of Halloween parties. There's also the eden dome, which isn't connected to the farm fines, but to the space domes! It was home to the very first crops grown on mars. (Which, of course, included potatoes) and then if course. The big dome. The super massive one that uses my new favourite thing: AQUAPONICS!! obviously you can't feed an entire small country with just plain kabd, you need stacks! You need later upon layer of fish, water, wires, dirt, plants, synthetic sunlight, and more fish! They also synthesize a lot of meat because it's sci-fi. I can do what I want. And it's better for the air cuz farm animals produce a lot of gas

The recreational domes have shops, cinemas, various sports centres, a nice park, and also hosts lots of festivals. There's also a small 'market dome' that's connected to the residential dome so you don't have to go all that way to pick up some eggs or something. (Martha and Tammy's favourite thing to do is go roller skating at 'saturns rings' also there's a diner where the waiters are all in roller skates)

As to why they're separated, it makes it easier for me to design them in a cool way. Also the air inside is very different to the air outside, so smaller domes make it easier to manage, and keep out the sticky martian sand while building.

i finally got out of coffee i think. at least for the most part. got a job doing something else cos a friend gave us a lead. i feel so fortunate, my partner went on so many fucking interviews and kept getting snubbed by psycho small biz owners but finally found a good spot, and because of that we've met some really chill amazing folks who have been so welcoming and helped get me a lead at a spot BLOCKS away, so now we can DEF move to a spot that will work for both of us, AND its by a school so i can take classes (lol). im already starting to know a lot of people in the neighborhood and the spot ill be working at sort of caters to a lot of local businesses *anyways* so im really excited to start meeting people again. despite my interpersonal trauma and dodginess, i really thrive with community and it's very hard for me to find what that IS in a healthy way and i REALLY miss having that when i lived in seat*le ... covid fucked my life so goddamn bad like honestly? objectively worse than most people's tbh (like not to be weird but like, it... it did) and i finally feel like maybe now i can have some positives to focus on while dealing with my dad possibly dying and it feels weird to have this really huge positive and really huge negative happening at once but trying to rock with both and just accept things.

anyways ive been living with in laws for like idk 7 or 8 months and im ready to move out and also REALLY glad i didnt work for the people i almost worked for who were batshit bc i REALLY deserve working for a good boss and this owner is really cool and honestly he also raised my wage even tho i didnt ask for it? which is nice? esp for a small business?! i feel SO fucking lucky and he knows about my dad and isnt bothered by the fact that i might have to go sometimes and i just... really feel like thank fucking GOD this is what ive been waiting for.

we've just been taking it really really REALLY slow making sure we start things off RIGHT because GODDAMN shit was BAD in california and im just not willing to sell my time and my sanity to another sociopath like yall i cant even begin to tell you how bad its been with my work shit and its like, i am literally the most honest hardworking efficient down to earth person. people LOVE having me as their coworker, but i am NOT willing to work for assholes anymore. i can NOT do it. i am NOT willing to lead myself into suicide world AGAIN. like, no. i refuse it.

holy shit im so mad.

!!!SPOILERS FOR SEE YOU IN MY 19TH LIFE KDRAMA AND WEBTOON!!!

(disclaimer-sorry if any of the characters names are spelt wrong or need a hyphen, i get things confused between the kdrama and webtoon)

i read the webtoon way before the kdrama came out and i am still, to this day, so emotionally attached to it like, its one of the most amazing things ive read and i still cry when i think about it too much.

so, imagine my excitement when i find out its getting a kdrama and my absolute dissapointment when i find out that they changed literally everything (this is an exaragation) that made the webtoon so amazing.

when the show came out i was basically begging my sister to watch it with me (since she hasnt read the webtoon) and we are currently seven episodes in because we had to go on holidays however, we will continue watching it (even though i spent a good hour and a half contemplating whether or not i would actually be able to watch it without combusting after i read what they changed) until the end.

so, like the the overly anxious person i am, i searched up the ending just to make sure they hadnt changed anything else apart from min-gi's character and adding han-na (who we will discuss later) and proceeded to rip my hair out after reading that they made the female lead LOSE ALL OF HER MEMORIES ABOUT EVERYONE SHE LOVED.

but before we get into that i want to talk about the things they actually did well, for example, the cinematography, casting and scenery were actually so amazing and its definitely so much better than the webtoon (however the webtoon does still have a special place in my heart) and i think possibly the only good plot change they did was make han-na the reincarnation of seo-ha's mother. as someone who despises sad/bittersweet stuff i love that they made his mother reincarnate and keep her memories even if he doesnt meet her (which i dont know if he does because im only on episode seven) because its so sweet to think that she got a chance to see her son all (sort of) happy and grown up. i also love the fact that they added more depth to her past lives and showed up more scenes of them as, in the webtoon, im pretty sure the only things we got that related to her past lives were- her and min-gi's friendship, her and doyun's 'relationship' in her first life and her being ae-kyung's uncle.

now, onto the things im sad they didnt keep in but that i could deal with, which is mostly min-gi's character as a whole and the convinience store scene with ji-eum and min-gi where they recognise each other from their past lives (which im assuming they dont do since they changed his whole character). apparently, in the kdrama, min-gi and ji-eum used to be rivals/enemies in their past life or whatever so he decides to like hunt her down and basically stalk her😭😭 and then proceed to tell her that she needs to stop speaking and being around people from her past life because it hurts them (something i will talk-type?-about in a bit).

the reason why im so mad at this is because they straight just basically made him antagonistic instead of HAVING HIM AND JI-EUM BE FRIENDS IN THEIR PAST LIVES AND HAVING HIM SAY THEIR LITTLE SECRET MESSAGE AND HER BEING LIKE 'omg someone actually remembers their past life other than me?' AND THEN HIM JUST TRYING TO HELP HER NOT REMEMBER HER PAST LIVES ANYMORE BUT BEING A LITTLE BIT MISGUIDED BUT THEN THEIR STILL FRIENDS AND THEY TALK ABOUT IT 😖😖😖. like, they just ruined his character potential so much my changing that and adding the stupid motherfucking thing about how interacting with people from your past lifes hurts them.

One of the things I find really amazing about humans is sometimes they just REFUSE to die (or at least that's how it looks from the outside), they hold on until they can't hold on anymore. Like there are cases where people hold on until that One Big Event and then die the next day, or who have a loved one tell them it's alright and they don't have to suffer and they'll be okay, and they die hours later... the human will is STRONG. Of course not strong enough to defy nature and death but absolutely strong enough to hold on for a while longer. If the fact that Scar was taught this by his own father at the tender age of like seven comes back up later, well... :)

Just because you think you lack specific traits identified as masculine or feminine doesn't mean you are a made-up gender. Hey anon, thank you so much for bringing this up! You’re right, there is an extremely saddening lack of focus on older nonbinary folks, and I think it is so, so important that kids like us are able to see themselves in their older role models. They are such wonderful, strong people who deserve recognition, so let me take this opportunity to tell you about some of the amazing older people I have in my life!

As I have mentioned in my introduction as a mod, I am a peer sex educator at a local youth program for LGBT teenagers. What I haven’t mentioned, however, is that this youth program is only one tiny part of a much larger organization thats spread alllllll around my state, and part of being a peer leader means that one of my duties is to attend bimonthly meetings with everyone involved with this organization. That means all the other youth peer leaders….and the adults they work with.

Its such an inspiring experience, honestly. In just my workplace alone, our program director is a genderfluid person in their 50s, who has been living in my town longer than I’ve been alive. They’ve been working in LGBT advocacy for the better part of thirty years now, and have been responsible for not only my town’s first pride parade, but our first LGBT prom and yearly tradition of hosting an intergenerational LGBT dinner with an elders group in the area. Our resident youth specialist, a nonbinary femme (and their super fantastic demiboy husband) are younger but still in their mid-30s, and have been doing an absolutely fantastic job so far in keeping our space safe and friendly. Both them and their husband, although he’s not technically an employee, have been adopted as the parents of the kids in our space who’s own aren’t doing their job well just because of how kind and understanding they are. Our previous youth advisor who recently moved was…Well, he was amazing. Bigender, in his 30s as well, he was such a huge influence on all our older group members and honestly such a driving force in my life. He’s helped me so much, personally, in finding my path - as unconventional as it is- and has helped me work though some really difficult times a few years ago and will forever hold a place in the hearts of everyone who worked with him.

Working in the greater organization can sometimes be a bit frustrating, because each youth group has their own kind of culture and ways and trying to translate that into a way we can work together can be a challenge, but such a worthy one. I have met so many hard working and inspiring older nonbinary folks, from all walks of life and with vastly different things to teach. The intergenerational dinner I previously mentioned? All the members of the elders group are between the ages of 60 and 100, and I have held some really interesting and informative discussions with the nonbinary members about their lives and growth as people! One notable experience is a transfeminine nonbinary woman who told me about how she came out to her wife when she was 57 years old. She began to formally transition a few years later, and explained to me how overjoyed she was to learn that not only was there a term to describe her experience as a person, but that she finally lived in an area in a time in her life where she could comfortably and freely live as she wants. She has three children and a grandchild, and has never been happier.

If you are a young nb and worried about your future, or worse, believe there is no future to worry about… I promise you, these amazing people are prime examples of how you can live happily well into adulthood without worrying about whether your identity is just something you picked up as a dumb kid. If you’re older, hey, you’re not the only one! Older nb folks exist everywhere you care to look, all it takes is a little time to find them. xx

One of my favourites EVER. It was a hilarious relatable show (for teen me bc child me didn’t always understand wtf was going on). Definitely recommend (if you speak french watch it in french its wayyy better).

Every now and then i have a sudden nostalgia crisis and i watch an episode of Mona or Ruby Gloom (coming up). I keep forgetting this show exists until i need it LMAO but its really good and i remember reading the books too.

Emily the Strange (book series)

I genuinely didnt know that so many people liked these books until like a week ago. When i was reading these books i didnt know anybody that even knew of them so i was my own fandom LMAO. I was OBSESSED with these books, i wanted to live like Emily (sleep the day, adventures at night) and i learned how to draw her and her cats

Ghostgirl (book series)

I read those when i was in my first year of secondary school and i l o v e d it. But ever since then i have an actual fear of choking on small stuff (the main character died chocking on a gummy bear) and its probably the reason why i cant swallow pills, now that i think about it. Theyre amazing books but its probably for like 12-14 years olds so dont expect a horror book

Honourable mention: The Hex Girls

I just could not n o t talk about the hex girls, even if they dont have their “own” show theyre still SO UUGHHH. Ive seen every movie/show where they made an appearance (no matter how small) and i know all of their songs and i just love them so much like omg please someone let me be an eco goth wicca vampire-wannabe rock band member with them!!!

Other works from the cast of TMA

The magnus archives cast is filled to the brim with talented creatives with over pieces of work and more people should know about them.

First the obvious: rusty quill makes amazing stuff! MAG is magnificent but more people should get to know their other stuff. Im slowly getting through rusty quill gaming and its delightful. If you want to hear Lydia Nicholas (Melanie king) be a stabby knife woman again, listen to Ben Meredith's (Elias) soothing voice without having to simp over a literal murderer and Alex (Martin, director, big boss man) being chaotic this is just the place. I also cant recommend ehough listening to one-shots special episodes, my favourite one is when Sasha (Georgie) gms Helen (Laverne, Melanies therapist), Lydia (Melanie) and Lowrie (editor) as they play a very cheotic and quite horny rpg about being stuck on a cruise ship to Bermuda. The game is by Macguffin and co, Jonny's and Sasha's game company that i will talk about in depth further in the post.

Stella firma is another rusty quill podcast. It is made and stared by the Meredith brothers. I have yet to listen to alot of it but it includes tons of gender fuckery and chaos.

I haven't listened to any of outlanders yet, but i believe it shall be great like everything RQ makes.

RQ also has "Rusty quill streams" that streams in twitch and you can also find on YouTube. It is hosted and stars Mike leBeau (the iconic tim stoker) Nico ( vocal editor, gabe us the kiss). The streams are hilarious and make me want to get into gaming, it is also a great way to support RQ and also get to see content from other of their creators. Last week featured Anil helping Mike playing through dream daddy and it was glorious.

I would be surprised if any of the hardcore TMA fans haven't at least heard of the mechanisms. But just in case:

The mechanisms were a steampunk-cabaret-neo folk band that were active in 2010-2020. The premis of the band is that each of its members plays a mechanism, an immortal cyborg and they all travel together through the universe, singing and telling stories about the tragedies they encounter. Non other than the beloved Jonny Simms was there lead singer, Jonny de'vil, a space cowboy from new Texas. other familier people were band mates aswell, Frank Voss (Basira) is Ashes O'Riley, an arsonists with a bass guitar, Jessica law (nikola orsinov) as the toy soldier who sings and plays the mandolin, ukulele and a variety of other instruments. Tim ledsam (jorden the extinguisher) plays gunpowder tim, the allmother of gender envy that plays the guitar. The Band has four concept albums that tell full tales:

"once upon a time in space" that is a reiteration of classic fairy tales but with lesbians in space.

"Ulysses dies at dawn" that is based in greek mythology and is bluesy and jazzy and wonderful

"High noon over Camelot" which is rooted in the tales of king Arthur and the round table, but as a wild west spaghetti movie of sorts in space. It has a main trans character and i lovely poly relationship that i have yet to see better represented in other media.

And "the bifrost incident", based on Norse mythology in a "murderer on the Orient express" setting, lesbians in space and a non binary main character.

Other then that they have two albums that are made out of short stories, many of them a backstory for fhe characters named "tales to be told" and "tales to be told II". They also have a standalone song about frankinstein and a live recording of there final show,that includes a few new songs, lovely banter and a revision if some ot their older works.

I cannot recommend listening to them enough.

Macguffin and co is Jonny and Sasha's game company. They design micro settings for RPG that some are free and some are patreon exclusive. I have yet to play any of the games myself but read through all the ones available online and listened to the acctual play podcast episodes of them ("dusk hollow pd" on MAG and "not far to Bermuda" on rqg). The settings are thought out so well and the attention for details is amazing. Jonny and sasha also stream on twitch regularly and the streams are a delight.

Sasha also has a podcast with the one and only Jessica law called "Jane austentations" in which they watch together all the film adaptations of Jane Austen novels and review them. Sasha knows an awful lot about Jane Austen, Jessica doesn't, but she has a surprising amount of knowledge about period accurate plants. The podcast itself is hilarious and Sasha's and Jessica's dynamic is great. Sasha also runs a blog under the same name were you can find other reviews.

Speaking of Jessica law, she is a great musician and i love her music so much. All of her work is available on Spotify and on bandcamp, she has a concept album called "lovers and fighters" which is a masterpiece in my opinion and five other albums. Her storytelling abilities blow my mind every time and her voice is beautiful.

Fay Roberts, the voice behind daisy is a poet and spoken word artist. Their work is so good! I cant explain how wonderful it is. They made " the selkie: a song if many waters" that is a poetry collection/ story that they wrote and preformed on bandcamp, and its one of my favourite works if litreture ever, it is heartbreaking and mystical and beautiful and makes me sob very easily. They also have quite a bit of spoken word poetry published online, both on bandcamp and on YouTube and i can't recommend enough for you to go listening to it.

How often do you respond to asks?

I respond as soon as I am able to give an actual genuine response. This can be anywhere from a few minutes to a few days. I always try to wait till I can sit down and really give an in depth reply. So be patient. So long as you're message isn't hate, or have another blogs name in it, I will respond to it. Tho if you're ask isn't lgbt related, I'd suggest sending it to @penny4yathoughts. That's my other blog. This blog is for lgbt discourse specifically.

Why is the split attraction model harmful/why should it NOT be used?

I've answered this a few times in several different ways. Please click one of these (link 1) (link 2) (link 3) (link 4) (link 5) (link 6) (link 7) links to learn more. It's about who you are attracted to. How you experience it isn't a separate identity. By labeling every little part of your attraction you’re doing a lot more harm in the long run. (Here is an ask on demi)

Note: Some of those asks are old so the wording might be odd. But the general idea is still there.

Thoughts on gender dysphoria?

You need some level of gender dysphoria to be trans. Gender euphoria is part of gender dysphoria. And dysphoria has nothing to do with gender roles as it's very much has to do with the physical body and is scientifically backed. That said, it isn't body dysmorphia which I find a lot of detransitioners had, along with problems with gender roles/stereotypes hence why they detransitioned. They deserve help and support just as much as trans people. And yes, being trans needs to be a medical condition because otherwise it costs way to much to transition. I need insurance to help pay for shit. Don't take that away from people who NEED to transition just because you think a medical condition is a horrid terrible thing to have. Which fun fact, it’s not. There is nothing wrong with having a medical condition and being able to say you have one makes it a lot easier to get help.

Thoughts on nonbinary?

My thoughts aren't super strong on this since nobinary isn't nearly as bad as mogai. But I don't really get it and I doubt I ever will. I think people who enjoy the idea of being able to call themselves gay no matter who they’re dating because they’re nonbinary have some internalized issues to work out. Cuz there is nothing wrong with being straight and being gay isn’t some crazy amazing thing. It’s also messed up how people who are gender non conforming are pressured to call themselves nonbinary even tho they are comfortable as their agab. There is a LOT of issues in that community. Thoughts of trans minors medically transitioning?

Like any medical transition, it's a case by case basis. I don't have the right to tell someone they CANT medically transition. So long as they have gender dysphoria then I won't tell anyone they shouldn't transition. However, unless it's needed immediately for mental health I always advise waiting until after puberty. It sucks, I know. But it's safer. Again tho, every trans person has their own plan for medical transitioning and they should be planning that out through close consultation with their doctor(s) to make sure they're staying safe. Unless you're their doctor or they ask for advice, relax and let them be.

It should be regulated just like any other med/surgery. As in it's absolutely something insurance should help cover and it's something you talk to your doctor about. It's up to the patient and their doctor(s) on what's best for them. Plain and simple. Hormones are a controlled substance so there are usually more hoops to go through cuz it's a CONTROLED SUBSTANCE. But beyond that I can only really speak on my specific area of the USA where I get my meds and got my surgeries. I know other places are way more heavily regulated to the point where you can't even get help which is obviously NOT good. Making it more accessible isn't the same as giving it out like candy. I do think medically transitioning should be thought through carefully-- but at the end of the day, it's none of my business and I will only support people and keep my own thoughts to myself. That said, there def is some dangerous info about what you can and can't do that's out there from all sides of the topic.

Thoughts on mogai?

Microlabels and mogai are EXTREMELY harmful. They are not lgbt. They'd be fine if it was just some fun thing to do/way to express yourself. But they shoved themselves into the lgbt community and have severely hurt lgbt efforts in not just 1st world nations, but 2nd and 3rd as well.

Bi vs pan debate?

Bi means all. Pansexuality is biphobic in it's very existence. Bisexuality means attraction to all genders. It doesn't matter if you have a preference or not. Literally that doesn't matter. All that matters is you're attraction to all genders. When pansexuality got popular it got called out for being transphobic, biphobic, and homophobic. And even if you like to say the definition has changed, that is still how it's portrayed in media. So tough luck, it's still a bad label. (Link to ask that has link for more info).

Thoughts on asexuality?

Asexuality is VALID. it means no attraction. I have several posts on this. Feel free to check them out.

Is asexuality LGBT?

I don't care. Like... I have no issue with it being apart of the LGBT community. So long as it's actual asexuality as in no attraction to anyone. The split attraction model is harmful and shouldn't be used by anyone as a serious way to identify yourself. Also, often times in 2nd and 3rd world nations anything other then what is acceptable is all lumped in together. It doesn't matter if your gay, trans, ace, etc. It's all the same to people (and this is from talking to people from such nations). Instead of fighting over who is and isn't valid, people should be working together to help everyone. There are more important issues in the community to focus on basically. (here is an ask I got about it)

So what is the issue with asexuality?

The split attraction model is the big thing that I have an issue with. That and the fact that I've seen so many ace people put down other lgbt people's experiences time and time again for stupid reasons. Like telling gay men they are privileged because they have bad representation in a show where as they have none and it's just??? Please stop fighting the wrong people. Bad rep is worse then no rep. And gay people aren't the people to go after for that! A lot of asexuals seem to have this weird high horse they like to sit on. Not all obviously. But enough that it's caused a problem. They are still not as bad a mogai tho.

Thoughts on the q slur?

I don't have a strong opinion. I'm in a 1st world nations in an area where it's not that big of a deal to say. I understand the word has a lot of history and has been used as an umbrella term for a long time because sometimes it was easier to use. However, it is still a loaded word and many people have bad connections to it. People not liking the word is 100% valid and should be respected. You should make sure someone is ok with it before you use it. I avoid it and tag it when I remember out of respect for followers I know don’t like it and friends and family IRL who genuinely have issues with the word for personal reasons. If you are a decent human being you will not say it around people who don't like it. Like, you don’t gotta change your whole vocabulary for someone, just be a decent person.

Thoughts on he/him lesbians?

If it's for safety reasons then ok. But the way it's used overall now-a-days is extremely transphobic and lesbophobic. Lesbians are women. And he/him indicates male. It doesn't work. (Here's an ask that goes into more detail).

Is heterophobia real?

Yes it is real. How ever it does not function the same as lgbt phobia. Lgbt phobia works on a systematic and cultural level. Heterophobia only manifests within a toxic part of the lgbt community. (Link to an ask about it here).

What gives you the right to talk about these issues?

I'm a human being. End of story. So I get to research topics and form opinions on them. I was apart of the asexual community for almost 8 years, and have seen first hand what harm the split attraction model can cause to not only myself, but other people I've met. I am apart of the LGBT community and know first hand how gender dysphoria works. I do research on most of the topics I talk about and I will say upfront if I haven't when I comment on things I know little about. Because I believe learning and acknowledging lack of knowledge is a key part of making informed opinions. And anyone is allowed a voice on any issues. Just like anyone is allowed to block and ignore you if you feel like. Hate is never ok no matter the situation.
