Hi! Oh my god, that makes me SO happy! I never expect my little shipart to get this much attention - let alone have people like the ship and wanting me to talk about it!

I wasn't sure whether I want to share my whole headcanons about them getting together yet or not, and decided to instead collect some headcanons about these 3 that I love! So here;

My little collection on Klapolloquill headcanons! 🩷

- Simon and Klavier have briefly been friends before Simon went to jail. Klavier, as a new and young prosecutor, desperately seeked contact in the office and loved Simons style from the start. Dark clothes, an interest for music and an ex bass player - all while still being somewhat of a nerd abour psychology & birds. He had tried to build up an active friendship to him - unfortunately it was cut short due to Simon admitting to murderer and going to jail. (Klavier should feel this pain again in the following years as not only his best friend Daryan, but also brother go to jail).

- Once finally free past Dual Destinies Apollo and Simon build up some sort of friendship thanks to Athena. Quickly they realise they were mistaken about each others characters and after a whole they start to bond on a deeper level due to the trauma they had experienced... mostly because of Apollo losing Clay, and Simon losing Bobby. (Bonus angst points if Claypollo and Blackbright were secretly canon and they bond over the loss of their ex lovers).

- Klapollo starts dating first. Klavier had feelings for Apollo early on after meeting him, but it took a lot of time and change for them to finally get together.

- Klavier, however, is also the one who is self aware about being Polyam. He previously had crushes on more than one person at the same time and once time passes and he builds up the friendship to Simon he wanted to have he eventually starts crushing on him. Hard.

- He confesses his crush to Apollo, fearing the worst. It is a huge insecurity of his and he doesn't get it across without tears and apologies, clarifying how much he loves Apollo as well, just to be... very perplexed about how calmly Apollo takes it. In fact, Apollo starts gently teasing Klavier about his obvious crush. He finds him adorable, blushing when looking at Simon like this. Apollo is ultimately the one who convinces Klavier to ask Simon out.

- Unknowingly Simon has a little crush on Apollo anyways. This young defense attorney shines brighter than any sun, he is smart, pretty, such a gentle and stronger soul than he believes of himself. Simon enjoys himself around the both of them, so endlessly much, and with passing time Simon feels lovable again, after prison and losing Bobby (the only person that made him feel lovable before).

- Eventually all 3 shyly allow themselves to get closer. Especially Klavier with his gigantic crush on Simon can hardly believe it everytime he gets to sit between both of them on the couch. Just having his knee slightly touch Simons makes his head spin and they keep smiling at each other more when passing each other on the prosecutor halls.

- And hey! Who would have thought! They fall in love! Each of them, with one another. And in fact, their ideas of love fit together perfectly. All 3 of them long for nothing more but a calm, domestic lifestyle.

- What that looks like...? Easy. A cozy apartment, many plants, falling asleep cuddling, with one cat and one dog at the side. Breakfast on the balcony as Klavier slurps his vanilla latte, Simon makes them eggs, and Apollo tries to stop Taka from stealing bacon straight from his bagel.

- Mikeko (Apollos cat) adores Simon. No day passes where this cat doesn't chose to sit on his legs or lap. Whenever the cat chooses him, Simon is careful to not move a single inch. May she rest as long as she wants to!

- Taka (Simons hawk) adores Apollo. After being afraid of her for months (sorry, Taka has always been female in my brain LMAO) Apollo realises that she is not only well behaved but also seeks active contact to him. Simon falls even more in love with him when seeing Apollo feed the bird on the balcony and daring to pat her feathery head.

- Vongole (first Kristophs, then Klaviers dog) is the most sweetest girl of girls. Greeting all of them with enthusiasm and DEMANDING to sleep in the bed at all times, she won each of their hearts and can be considered the true Queen of the house!

- However, it can be complicated to cuddle, ESPECIALLY if you are Simon Blackquill, and a living cuddle sized heater. He must always sleep in the middle automatically as Apollo loves to rest his head on his chest while Klavier has the most freeziest hands in the history of forever. And yes, he will randomly warm his hands under Simons shirt at every possible moment.

- Funnily enough, their household works very smoothly together. Apollo cooks at most, but his desk easily looks like it explodes after one use. He keeps leaving things around and forgetting about them. Simon cleans, and he has no issue cleaning after Apollo at times. Klavier is the one to take the dog and plan their dates, and no date has ever been dissapointing, he's fantatsic at planning them!

So at most! This ship is really fluffy and comforting in my eyes, so here are some random thoughts on them! Thanks for listening to me rambling! <3

Turnabout Storyteller.

I had already vaguely known about Uendo having DID due to me not necessarily avoiding spoilers when reading fanfic, but...

I have so many thoughts on this as someone who HAS the disorder they're representing here.

Like, one, I definitely appreciated the way they revealed it -- during a Mood Matrix session. Having multiple sets of feelings and having them switch on and off like that is def a thing. I've/we've experienced that before.

But also -- before that, when Uendo was switching between his "characters" and everyone thought he was just putting on a performance? Yeah, see. They did that really well considering that like -- yes, the way alters hold the body/the face can be really different. They certainly felt like different people, which was really cool to see. I liked the different poses they had because as I played I was like, "Huh... is he the character with DID...? He is, right?"

The thing is, I'm like 80% certain that Uendo is the murderer, and THAT annoys me -- but I'm not done playing through the case, yet. I just started the second half of the trial, so.... I'll comment as I go.

But if I'm right and Uendo IS the murderer, I'm gonna have to roll my eyes because soooo many pieces of media use my disorder to show HEY SOMEONE WITH THIS COULD BE A KILLER AND NOT KNOWWWWW and I hate that. Because like.... no.

OH THANK GOD. Like 3 seconds into the send half of the trial and it's NOT Uendo. Yay. Yayyyyy. I'm actually really glad they did that subversion of the person-with-DID-is-the-killer trope. Thank fucking GOD.

SIMON GRABBING ATHENA when she starts to doubt she can prove Bucky's innocence is just -- fuck. Okay. Yeah, I see why the fandom loves that particular moment. (I love Simon so much omfg).

I am honestly loving this case and I actually really like the way they've presented Uendo -- it's simplified a bit for the sake of the audience, but at the same time, switching DO be like that. And you can certainly be co-conscious and share memory.

Like.... that's legitimately how our System works -- there's usually 2-3 of us up front at any given time, with someone generally more forward, while the other(s) listens / watches. Sometimes others push to the front. And there are 4 of us who more or less have access to the continual life happenings even if we don't always recollect specific details (or what we were feeling) later.

Also Owen being a LITTLE makes so much damn sense? Fuck, idk man, I love it. I kinda adore them.

I really really really got weary when Uendo's diagnosis was revealed because, y'know, the whole oh God pls tell me you're not the murderer even if it was kinda looking like you were.

That fucking balloon girl did it, didn't she? Jesus fucking Christ. I love that, but I also hate that. Also it's so unfair they made this chick so goddamned pretty.

Also man can I also say just how like.... they legitimately refer to Owen as a child, and Kisegawa with Ms., and -- that's actually a nice little piece of the writing here. Like... is it absolutely perfect? No. It's not. But let me tell you -- as someone with this disorder? Writing it and showing it for an audience is hard.

That whole, "everyone is unique" thing applies here -- every System is different. They all develop ways of functioning in order to blend in and protect themselves. Uendo may not have the denial bit that comes with this disorder (do you know how many times I find myself asking if I'm sure I'm not faking this thing? do you??? because like, it's a "rare" disorder, right? and was my trauma REALLY bad enough for me to have alters???? etc) -- but considering the confident way he, Patches, and Kisegawa speak about their experience with the disorder, I would imagine they've been in therapy for it for a while, now.

But also -- the three of them not being aware of Owen? Or denying his existence, at least? Well, they were either protecting him because he's so young, or they legitimately did not know since apparently he may only come forward when the body is drunk.

idk I love that Uendo et al was not the killer. Like so much. Thank FUCK.

Also that was a really fun case even if it was like, not entirely relevant to the overall story happening here in SOJ. I definitely enjoyed it.

As soon as they figure out how to be haters together it's over for these hoes. Apollo rolls up to the prosecutor's office like "You're never going to believe what Athena and Trucy did today." and Simon looks at him with an 'I bet I will' and Taka goes *bird noise* to which Apollo responds "Exactly" bc he does the same thing to Mikeko.

Also I think Taka would start to genuinely like Apollo a little faster than Simon does which annoys Simon to no end bc he's like 'why is my ever loyal bird suddenly choosing this manlet over me' but it's bc Apollo approached it like he did when he found Mikeko: food. Best way to an animal's heart. He only reveals this after they've started dating, though. It all started when one time he had to shoo Taka so he threw some of his chicken at him and Taka gobbled it up and flew away. Then it clicked.

And I've talked about potential hilarious Aura interactions before (I think I posted those, anyway, fic coming eventually) but I want to reiterate how funny their relationship would be. I love them.

Even if they were just besties I think that would be fantastic, they just have so much potential. Simon with his 'I'm never going to say what I mean' vs Apollo's 'I chronically say out of pocket things that I very much do mean but didn't mean to say' is also fantastic. Simon throws out an insult but Apollo can tell he's lying and Apollo throws back the most genuine and inspiring compliment you've ever heard and bolts bc 'oh my god what did I just say that'. Simon has a little heart attack about it and stares at a wall for hours.

ok if they ever do make Athena Cykes: Ace Attorney, or even better her own trilogy (GOBB LET THIS BE WHAT HAPPENS), there HAS to be a backstory case showing when Athena met Phoenix. she keeps talking in Dual Destinies about how Phoenix helped her out of trouble once and how he convinced her to follow law as a profession in order to help Simon, and all thats stuff and GOD does that sound like it has so much potential for a really emotional journey, and a GREAT way to develop Athena's character past what we've been shown already of hers!!! ID LOVE IT if this happened.

like sure, by necessity it would be yet another case where you play as Phoenix with Athena at most as an assistant, but if its an Athena-focused game where most other cases you play as her, the one backstory case not being played as her wouldn't feel so bad i dont think. specially if its entirely focused on her and her troubles and stuff

because capcom fucking WASTED the potential they had with aa4 and the storytelling of the trilogy deserved to be replicated with more characters

aa4

keep everything basically the same, but add some references to clay, make sure apollo doesn’t exist in a vacuum outside of being a lawyer, yes its really fucking funny but objectively shit for worldbuilding

other than that, change nothing. this is my maybe favorite game in the series for a reason (not the cases)

aa5

scrap everything in this game. some bits and pieces can be kept, but it’s not a lot. there was momentum coming out of aa4 that capcom fucking WASTED with this game

rival prosecutor can be sebastian, detective can be kay

sebastian is friends with klavier and knows apollo because of that

when they meet there’s a scene where sebastian is like “it’s you! mr. forehead!” and apollo replies “what on god’s green earth did you just say to me” or something along those lines because it would be really really funny

klavier and ema are referenced, but not shown. in case 2 apollo can say/think something along the lines of “i wonder who i’m going up against, since ema is studying to retake the forensics exam and klavier is in germany”

speaking of which, klavier is reflecting in germany, spending time with his remaining family, figuring his life out. BIG miles in aa2 vibes but without the incredibly worrying note

trucy is in school more, which means clay can be co-counsel occasionally

background notes about what phoenix is up to (ie apollo thinking about how the first thing phoenix did with his badge back was defend a whale, mention of how he visited maya in khura’in, etc), but he’s still around for the cases. not really doing anything, but he’s there and kind of helpful

there are references to kristoph throughout the game, he is NOT brushed off or swept under the rug

case 1 is turnabout countdown without athena and apollo in the hospital, phoenix co-counsel maybe? basically ted tonate kills candice arme without any of the stuff relating to the cosmic turnabout

case 2 is the monstrous turnabout without athena, sub in trucy since jinxie is her friend anyways

case 3 is completely new, apollo’s landlord is killed, clay is co-counsel

case 4 is also completely new, a murder at a science lab maybe? but clay is co-counsel again

case 5 is the cosmic turnabout without athena and the cliffhanger to set up turnabout for tomorrow

clay and sol switch because i care about clay

culprit can be the phantom disguised as yuri cosmos, he escapes and remains at large when game ends, sets up aa6 nicely

aa6

canon has been thrown entirely out the window, khura'in can exist but it has nothing to do with apollo, it's just "where mr. wright's sister is working"

clay references come back, he's still in space, went up on hat-3 instead of sol because reasons

ema is the detective again, she passed the forensics exam and i love her

simon is the rival prosecutor, we can bring athena in gradually (and maybe set up an athena cykes trilogy but shhh i'll worry about that later)

i'm not sure what the cases are, but the central conflict is between apollo, klavier, kristoph, and the phantom

also klavier is back in japanifornia, tags along on investigations sometimes maybe?

@jackedup180 had a really good idea where there's kind of a matt engarde/shelly de killer vibe between kristoph and the phantom, kristoph makes the plans and stuff but can't commit any crimes because he is in Prison, the phantom can go commit the crimes and probably have more of an alibi

FUCK I ALMOST FORGOT but the phantom is disguised as bobby fulbright again, cause that would be a good dynamic and a decent enough twist. maybe at the end of aa5 they didn't realize that yuri cosmos was the phantom, and that can be brought in subtly now

the one case i AM decently sure of is 6-5, where the victim is metis and klavier is the defendant

no one really believes that it's him, big turnabout goodbyes vibes, but i'm doing that on purpose, dw

aura can still pull the hostage thing cause she wants justice for her wife, which leads to phoenix telling apollo about the Thing and bringing thalassa in at the end of the case because goddammit, capcom, it's been over a decade, you Need to tell them

miles can be the prosecutor cause klavier is still one of his best prosecutors and simon's too invested/not ranked highly enough and also wrightworth lol

what are your opinions on Athena’s character? I know she’s probably not one of your faves or at least your favorite to draw but I’m interested to hear your thoughts

anon i love every aa character regardless if i draw them regularly, it's just bc i'm such an aa4 bitch that i don't draw the other characters often WHEEZES .

but moving on i freaking love athena, i love how she's got the standard anime protag energy of being plucky, feisty, and lively, i think it's such a funny contrast with apollo and phoenix being more of the straight men (the character archetype) protagonists. i actually do enjoy her design i just don't enjoy the pleated cut of her skirt but god BLESS her outfit is so LOUD, i love her long hair too.

i love her dynamics with everyone in the waa, i like how shes bff's with apollo two people with two much energy but with different ways to show it, apollo teaches her how to scream athena holds his hand when he's scared LIKE!!! BESTIES!!!!! i like how phoenix is pretty fatherly to her (don't tell anyone but i actually enjoy that thing they do in fics where apollo feels a little jealouse a little bittere just bc he feels phoenix is nicer and less cryptic to athena than he is with him [but then again that's just another aa5 gripe i have that the beanixisms have been removed completely once he got his badge back] but. yeah) aa5 is a gotdam slough though and i'm not a big fan of how they flattened trucy and made her one relationship gimmick with athena the fact that she forces her into her magic acts and she's scared (girl where's the friendship where's the love where's the girls night outs where's th

i’m sad so. ace attorney headcanons

yes there are spoilers (games 1-6 and aai!!)

1) phoenix was a theater major

2) miles edgeworth wears long socks. not like the long striped ones or the little cute ones. no he wears like. long patterned songs that you wear with suits and whatnot. through the house

3) miles is always cold. always. phoenix, however, is always hot

4) trucy and apollo facetime every single night. also yuty is a really big fan of mr hat (because i said so)

5) all of the sahdmadhi men are trans. i do not make the Rules

6) maya and franziska are both really competitive but also nerds so they have game nights at least once a week and every time franzy has to sleep on the couch afterward because god damn it just because the word is in the scrabble dictionary does not mean you should play it

7) miles listens to the smiths

8) ema doesn’t talk about it much but she really likes entomology. she’s so strange (affectionately)

Best of 2023 - Movies

Seems like I did run into more than one almost perfect movie this year, but the number one, definitely one of the most brilliant film I ever watched. And no, it's not the new Basic Instinct but I can see a little bit of resemblance.

01. Anatomy of a Fall - Dir: Justine Triet - 2023 - "Marriage, the film suggests, is like a mosaic. One or two highly coloured tiles might catch the eye but they can’t, on their own, show the whole picture. The reports we get of Sandra and Samuel’s life together (there is only one flashback in the film; most of what we learn comes from the evidence presented in the court) suggest a relationship that gets chillier and spikier by the minute. But then the prosecution’s case relies on cherrypicking the trauma and the deep-seated unhappiness in the marriage, and foregrounding the character traits in Sandra that might make her capable of murder. A choice of other, sunnier moments, as Sandra reasonably points out, would paint an entirely different picture of her relationship with her husband." - The Guardian

28. Anaïs in Love - Dir: Charline Bourgeois-Tacquet - 2021 - "The pleasures of Anaïs in Love largely derive from the nuanced performances by Demoustier and Bruni Tedeschi. The latter, for once, is not required to be tearful or neurotic, and the growing attraction between her and Anaïs is convincingly handled – even if one could quibble at a couple of cliché moments, such as the two women’s encounter under an apple tree (in which Anaïs gives Émilie an apple) and the nowadays seemingly obligatory sea-shore setting for the lesbian love scene. The excellent Demoustier sustains the entire film, indeed named after her. Her choice was not accidental: Bourgeois-Tacquet had already cast her as the lead in her 2018 short Pauline asservie. (Both the short and Anaïs in Love were shown at Cannes in 2021 – quite an accolade.) Ebullient and ‘cute’ especially when seducing Daniel or Émilie, Demoustier is equally believable as an aggrieved daughter when she finds out that her mother’s lethal illness has returned. Her irrepressible energy and artless beauty underline her precise rendition of a modern young woman bent on following her own desire, straight or queer – at times to the point of insensitivity. Indeed, it’s hard to think of another actress who could have made Anais’s exasperating unreliability, egocentricity and excessive volubility forgivable, let alone endearing, as they are evidently supposed to be. Fans of Eric Rohmer may be reminded of some of the young heroines in his ‘Comedies and Proverbs’ (1980–1990) and ‘Tales of the Four Seasons’ (1990 – 1998) series, a filmic heritage also suggested by the literary references and cultured dialogue. This is marivaudage with an intellectual bent – Anaïs and Émilie share a love of Duras’s 1964 novel The Ravishing of Lol Stein – and a feminist twist: “I don’t want to meet interesting people,” Anaïs says, “I want to be interesting.” Thanks in large part to Demoustier, she is." - British Film Institute
