wada sez: Reader, I have truly failed you. I clicked on every single Micromaster on the wiki and was still unable to conclusively identify several of the indistinct cameos in the background. I hope you can one day find it in your heart to forgive me. The second of Villa’s Lovecraft-inspired strips, this one is titled from the opening of “The Festival”, which together with “The Shadow Over Innsmouth” informs the plot. As noted at the bottom of the strip, it continues from Furman’s Revelation miniseries (though with the asterisk that this is Dreamwave-amalgamated Seeds of Deception continuity), expanding on the Gorlam Prime subplot begun with Spotlight: Nightbeat. Villa also notes some Beast Machines influence on this one! Preview and Italian translation below.

a little fun at the flea market lookin for toys yesterday after doin a not fun task

first off a buncha Micro Transformers from 1988! especially love the one that transforms into a DeLorean!😍

these four also originally came in a set together so extra neat!

a lil Road Champs Tanker Truck Monster Truck from 1987. Micro Machines an similar stuff are always a win for me. it also has a funny name 'Tanker Truck Monster Truck'

Megatron from Hershey's Treasure Surprise,which is basically a box with Hershey's Kisses an lil Transformers/My Little Pony figures. i just think it's a real neat concept,an a real great figure for the size! now obviously i hate the company so at least i'm not givin them any money here.

Flash from Justice League 'Flixstars'. they're called that cuz they have a tab thingy that you press down an launch them at each other to 'battle'. i love this line cuz it's DC an whimsical 80s style unpainted figures. 3 more an i'll have the whole set!

Kevin Levin action figure!

a small Mikey from the 2007 movie💕

now i'd love to find his brothers too in the future

another 'Marvel 500' Iron Man minifigure. this time with a random repaint. i actually got im cuz the guy didn't have change was like 'take another one with it'

and one last thing Phantasm Pop!! this one wasn't a thrift the local game an collectible shop posted about a bunch of half price Pop!s an i got this one. the box is slightly damaged but half price right!

the silly headcanon of will getting jealous of mike getting/appreciating art from other people is objectively hilarious and i want to push it further. i want will to see holly give mike a little doodle she made of him, and will is torn between 'aww that's so cute i'm glad they're Bonding' and 'you think you're better than me?? i was drawing realistic dragons and mike with a badass outfit and sword at your age.' (mike: will can you chill out she's 10.)

will and mike are at a university art show for the art majors and ofc mike is obviously gushing over and fanboying over every detail of will's art. will is very pleased, but the second mike looks away and says "oh this guy's art looks neat as well", will goes ":) yeah I guess so can we go back to my art please :) can you look at my art again can we talk about my art :) don't look at that look at my art for you please—"

wayne never trusted the suburbanites of hawkins. he’d been fine with them before, but once eddie started living with him, and he heard the way their kids spoke to his, he quickly turned his back.

when eddie came home crying because some girl called him a freak, or hid his bruised wrist behind his back and insisted he’d fallen over, he would say, some kids just follow their fathers, ed, there ain’t nothing you can do or not do about it. just count your lucky stars you’re smarter than them. it was a small comfort but the best he could do without his voice cracking.

so when nancy wheeler, robin buckley, steve harrington started showing up, packed into a beemer the boy had been bought at sixteen as a ‘starter car’, he had been nervous. buckley was okay, she wasn’t so prim and proper, and he’d heard enough stories about wheeler’s gun storage from eddie to see through any facade of manners. but harrington.

harrington was different. he stared at eddie whenever he laughed loud, or changed his voice, or gesticulated wildly. he smirked softly to himself when eddie referenced dnd.

he was the embodiment of hawkins.

when the four of them tumbled through the door together, laughing and nudging each other in a scramble for the sofa, wayne stood from his chair and left. he couldn’t bear to see his boy mocked all night by someone pretending to be a friend.

(what he didn’t notice was the way steve soaked up the sounds of eddie’s laugh, trying to work out how to be the one to cause it; or how proud he felt when dustin’s reluctant tutoring paid off and he could understand a nerdy comment.

steve harrington was in fact the antithesis of hawkins.

because he loved eddie munson.)
