Rock! I found a funny G1 fanfic that I think you will like. It's Tanked by cyberwulf on ff. net, and it's about Optimus getting accidentally drunk on diesel (after Spike naively fills him with it at a gas station). So Sparkplug has to help drive him back to base, while listening to OPs rambling.

07: Fire in the Sky

Okay so we start ff on a Christmas special because I am pretty sure that is the only way to justify it snowing in the dessert. 

Spike plays with Jazz in the snow and it is pretty cute as they all have a snowball fight. 

“That’s snow fair.” Oh Jazz!

Spike is the only one who comments on the impossibility of there being a snow fight in the dessert. Prime, being the only responsibly one now, looks up the weather all around the world. To put it simply the world is freezing. 

About time. 

But the strange thing is that they heat form the earth’s core is the thing that is freezing the world... and ya know nothing to do with the sun... the thing that gives up most of our heat and shit... i don’t care it is a cartoon.

And obviously it is the Megatron’s fault because it is always Megatron’s fault. The planet is freeze? Megatron. The forests are burning? Megatron. The sun is on fire? Megatron. You got a low grade on your last test? M-M-M-Megatron. 

We cut to the Cons in the Arctic taking heat from these crystals that are somehow contented tot he earth’s core. Just roll with it. So freeze the Earth and take the cubs. Solid plan. 

Rumble is having some trouble and Thundercraker is being a bitch, and they both forget how snow works but they both find a Cybertronian in the ice. Megatron decides to adopt the guy and make him a Con. 

But the ice caps seem to be doing better as the Bots find the crystal and the Cons (not Jazz it is not a natural phenomenon) messing up the earth and they decide to roll out...all the way to the arctic circle???? 

I guess I should question now where they hell are they (America I guess, hell I have been thinking New Mexico this whole time) but if they are able to drive tot the Arctic circle by car (Autobot or not) then shit son I guess I am wrong. 

But the Cons dig up who his face and they try to save the guy. Starscream orders from frankenstein b.s. cause Star seems to have known this guy! Oh, wow that is kinda cool, Starscream actually had friends!

So new bot is Skyfire and Statscream goes into 80s flashback mode. They were both space explorers years ago (though Starscream kept his jet form for some reason) before the war even started when the earth didn’t have life on it. Skyfire crashed on the planet however and Starscream circled half the planet in order to find him. 

That is... actually really tragic. Damn. 

He wakes up and seems to remember Starscream but is very confused. Wow he is a big boy. 

I’ll that it that they symbols is like the original symbol of Cybertron before the war things happened. (Look how happy Star is!)

So they fill him up about the war he missed and Megatron gets him to join. 

The Bots start coming in. and it only took them like an hour to get to America all the fucking way to the Arctic circle of course. 

So they change Skyfire’s thing but he’s not too excited about the whole ‘destroy your enemies thing.’ He asks for Starscream’s input about the whole thing where Starscrea, says he is very happy to be a warrior than a scientist. 

Starscream- “One day I, not Megatron, will lead up us and then you will be my second in command” 

Aww that is kinda sweet Starscream. 

Skyfire says he will try his best and he is the first to see the bots come in. He gets his gun ready but does not shoot on sight which i appalled him for. 

He shoots after saying “Destruction to all Autobots” Much classier.

Spike falls in the water and the ice starts cracking. Sparkplug saves him but now both the humans are in trouble. Geez why did we even bring them in the first place?

Skyfire gets to the first in order to help them but he does not understand that Cons are not really on friendly terms with the humans. Spike and Sarkplug give him the laydown that the Cons are assholes but he don’t believe it and has the great idea to take they guys with him to see Megatron. 

The Bots let him go cause they might him the humans (I saw risk it) and try to find a safer way to rescue them.

Megaton is happy to get the prisoners and treats them like shit. Skyfire is sad as he promised the humans that they would not get hurt but Megatron calls him out on that crap. 

For some reason Skyfire thinks that they are his friends (I guess humans just have that look) and Starscarem shoots at him for that. Wow. Ass. 

Skyfire knows that his purpose is for science and learn and not killing. I like that guy. Strong morals and shit. 

The Autobots (Bee, Prime, Cliffjumper Jazz) go into the cave hind-out base thing but only half of them back it and the other half of them fall into a trap (Gears (has be always been red and blue?) Ratchet Hound Ironhind) where they are freezing to death and now lost. Prim’s groups hears the humans calling for help and Cliff defrosts them with his defrost mode gun. Handy.  

Meanwhile the Cliff’s group see that the Cons drain the heat from the crystals into the cubes and I still don’t know how that is possible. They start talking around and are heard by Megatron and are now captured. So those guys are out. 

Ravage goes for Prime’s group who have the humans and Prime and they make a break for it trying to leave. “That’s what I call stoping a Con cold!”

However Ironhide’s groups is put outside to get ready for a good shot to the head. 

“These years under the ice diminished your loyalty coefficients, Skyfire”

Oh you are one to talk Starscream. 

But because of old friendships he is generous enough to allow Skyfire to melt down the Bots. How kind. 

But Skyfire is not about that life and Starscream shoots him. Aww.... poor guy. I feel like that shot was more personal for Starscream. Skyfire choose his own way rather than just doing whatever Starscream says, making him feel like Skyfire was betraying him really. 

Starscream shoots at the bots and tears them down. He then steps over Skyfire like a cold mo-fo as the Bots come back all fine cause holograms. Skyfire is glad that the bots are okay and they decide to help out the random dude. 

They seem to like him cause he stood up for them and felt guilty that he was shot due to helping them. Makes scene I guess. Ratchet helps him and wow when did those guys get here. Okay so all the Bots are together again. 

Megatron hears form Laserbeak that they Bots are okay. 

“You disgust me” I just think that Megaton throwing a cube at Star is really funny. 

But yeah Megatron is pissed that they ain’t dead and now we are going to have a fight scene. 

They start firing and Skyfire is in the middle of it, still hurt. Prime brings back Roller! the baby that lives in his trunk! Good to see him. He takes out Thundercraker and Skywing. 

Goodbye my child. 

Megaton and Prime duke it out with crystal parts and Prime seems to be the one kicking ass. 

That is till Skyfire starts coming back from nowhere and has the Autobot symbol again from nowhere. 

“I am an Autobot now” Same dude. I bet he made it himself. Cute. 

He then proceeds to kiss Megatron’s ass but Starscream is being a bitch to his ex and Sky takes the higher ground on him. 

Man I hate it when couples fight. 

They play chicken and Starscream falls to the ground but Skyfire crashes as well before aiming a blow to the crystal. 

So?????? He’s fucking dead???? What the hell???? That was a pussy was to go. 

Shit. 

Yeah so he is dead I guess but the earth is saved and I don’t think that was worth it. 

I literally rather have lost the earth just to have that really interesting characters back thanks you. 

“He won’t be forgotten Spike. He will live forever as long as freedom exists. We shall remember you Skyfire.” 

Yeah thanks Prime but that does not bring him back. 

I hope he comes back in future episodes but knowing the 80s, most likey not. 

Autobots I learned: 20

Skyfire is a Autobot and I will fight for this. He is white with a blue and red stripes. Got a red rocket backpack.

Acura TLX GT Race Car Finishes Second Overall at Pikes Peak

The 2017 running of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb saw new cutting-edge entrants and more class records broken, but the overall course record set by Sebastien Loeb in 2013 still stands at 8:13.878. Still, there were many noteworthy results.

Romain Dumas took home his third overall victory at Pikes Peak, recording a time of 9:05.672 in his Unlimited-class Norma MXX RD Limited prototype racer. A week prior, he finished 10th overall at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The Norma MXX RD was built to challenge Loeb’s overall record, but experienced ignition issues due to broken sparkplugs shortly after the start of Dumas’ run.

“It’s difficult to put words to this victory,” Dumas said in a post on his website. “The primary objective was to win, which is what we did and it’s never easy here. Never. I even questioned whether I’d get to the summit…The second objective was to get closer to the outright record. After the practice days, we had a decent idea of what kind of overall time was possible. But unfortunately, this will remain a hypothetical time after the broken spark plugs, and that’s disappointing. We got first place but we wanted so much more that I’m unable to feel completely satisfied today.”

Acura’s TLX GT race car placed second overall and first in the Open class. The highly modified TLX race car sports a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6 driving all four wheels. The TLX GT completed its run in 9 minutes and 33.797 seconds, which was enough to earn driver Peter Cunningham a record in the Open class. Cunningham was also named Rookie of the Year for the feat. Another TLX, the 2018 TLX A-Spec, won the Exhibition class in its maiden race. That car features a turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 tuned to 500 hp, but retains the front-wheel drive layout of the production car. The A-Spec recorded a time of 11:03.655. Meanwhile, a production-based Acura NSX placed third in the Time Attack 1 class with a time of 10:03.433, behind the Porsche 911 Turbo S of David Donohue and the Hyundai Genesis Coupe of Rhys Millen.

Financially troubled EV startup Faraday Future also competed in this year’s race, entering its FF 91 in the Pikes Peak Challenge Exhibition class. The company touts that it beat the production electric car record, set last year by a Tesla Model S P90D, by more than 20 seconds. However, the FF 91 is not in production yet (and may never be, at this rate), so its time of 11:25.082 can’t quite be compared apples-to-apples with the Tesla’s 11:48 run.

Should I just drive my Pontiac G6 Sedan (2006) until it dies? Or should I put some work in it?

Like an idiot, I bought a used G6 for 700 dollars from some girl who obviously beat the car to death. It has got a lot of tender loving care. But I bought this car because I needed a vehicle at the time to get around.

The good, its spacious, comfy to drive in, gets me about 21.5 MPG on the highway/city it seems despite being a V6 3.5

Here's where I have my regrets and didn't realize and its just such a mess.

This car is now 10 miles away fro 230,000 miles. Yet the engine sounds really good. Doesn't rattle at all and isn't loud either while driving.

Transmission is messed up, it works but you have to let go off the gas for it to shift into 2nd gear. And when you gun it it won't shift down for you. It makes a clang sound.

This lady has 16 inch tires on them when they should be 17! Plus one of the tires I found out is actually the spare, and THAT tire is 17. Plus ALL 4 TIRES are made from different manufacturer companies.

All of my motor mounts need to be replaced. The engine actually moves forward or backwards when its in drive or reverse. My mechanic showed me and it freaked me out. It should NOT be doing that.

Both the inner and outer tie rods, plus the sway bar links and sway bar bushings and the front shocks are bad.

My mechanic can help me get new tires and a rim thats for a 16 inch tire for 680 dollars. Its much cheaper than buying 4 new tires at Walmart plus 3 new rims. :\ (Tech 4 because of the Spare BS)

Then for the motormounts and labor, it would cost 530 to 540.

Then for all that stuff i mention before for the shocks and struts and sway bar stuff? the parts would all cost me 315, but the labor for all that is 320.

Then the transmission? A used transmission would cost 650 and to do the labor would be 300.

They are asking for a total of 3,125. Which honestly. I don't mind if it makes the car that much better but the biggest thing is... the engine.... what happens if my engine goes you know?

Also some other things... although its only happen twice on each of them since i bought this car back in late July. But I lost power to my Power Steering twice. But it only happen when i turned into a parking lot. And the first time i turned super sharp and fast. It has never happen when I drove though anywhere than that. And the check Gas cap has went off on me twice. Also... the Low Coolant light sensor is bad. But my coolant is fine. Plus I can tell anyway because we use the AC a lot down here in San Antonio.

Thing is. I just feel that I am not going to find a decent.

I have 3,125 dollars for that labor too (A little extra than that but still enough to cover it), thanks to my kind sweet Grandma. Being 34 years old im shocked she did this.

I already had to put work into this car... the battery was dead, the transmission fluids were BLACK, the car had NO OIL IN IT. And the clock-spring was messed up. Also thankfully not the alternator... but the wiring job for it was going bad and i had to get that all paid... PLUS they never once changed the back sparkplugs and one of the hoses even was off the damn car too FFS.

Anyways, despite how awful the lady treated it. I am amazed it runs. Let alone that I actually feel safe driving it despite the rattles. It doesn't rattle super loud though or feels like its going to break. But man... I just don't know. I do regret buying the car... but at the same time the car has been good to me despite that.

If you do think I would be nuts to put any more money in it. Then please tell me where I can find a good car if possible online. And what I should watch out for. Thank you.

Heck yes, @quilloftheclouds. Let’s do it for Fish Food, since I vaguely recall answering something similar for H2H and it was so much fun.

Make the superheroes cook, I say!

Will brings a casserole. It’s 100% something someone else gave him a few days ago for some reason or another, and there’s a 75% chance it’s green bean.

Depending on the time of year, Ryan either brings homemade raisin challah (it’s amazing), sangria, or some type of fried thing. And yes, he totally makes a fryer to test his mechanical skills. And yes, he totally burns himself a little. Everyone is Concerned. But he’s fine.

If it were the villain pot luck, however, he would try to be fancy and bring fried desserts. It… would not go well. Instead, he would be a last-minute sign up for cutlery and plates.

Stephanie bakes a big ‘ole blueberry pie. With the COH logo on it. And she insists on cutting it with the biggest knife she can find. It’s Symbolic ™. Also, blueberry is Andy’s (aka Babylon’s) favorite and they hate that they love Steph’s baking so much. She also supplies several 6 packs from the bar.

Andy brings store bought frosted cookies. You can expect to find them at any workplace social function. It’s only a coincidence that most people enjoy them.

If Jamie (aka Sparkplug) were still with the COH and was invited, she would make a huge pot of gumbo. It’s her favorite.

Nightmare would be the unfortunate organizer of the pot luck and would feel obligated to bring something impressive. Then she’d think about it and realize that as the best villain, she doesn’t have to do anything. She’d bring something with watermelon in it, though.

Ferro would make trail mix. He’s not creative. And he hates cooking. If he felt like making an effort, he might make dairy free rice krispy treats using his powers. Does this have any weird effects on the people who eat them? Who knows. It’s now a science experiment.

Battalion would bring kebabs. Meat, fruit, and veggie ones. Is this purely for the swords and stabby pun? Yes. Yes it is.

Hello! STS! What was a major point of inspiration for one of your WIPs or OCs?

Hi @ettawritesnstudies! Thanks for the ask and happy Saturday!

Hm. Let’s look at... Fish Food. More specifically, Sparkplug.

Sparkplug is a vigilante who was “dishonorably discharged” from the Coalition of Heroes for “stealing tech.” Mhm. Right. 

I think that a good political superhero story needs a kick-ass mercenary working under the radar to fix the world. She also has a vaguely Megaman-like arm. Because I could, so I did.

Jamie is the kind of character who can control lots of things, but chooses not to because it would violate her moral code. She uses her very destructive powers for good, to rescue and recover instead of obliterate, does a lot of shady stuff to help the general public, did the right thing and paid for it, and has a lot of information that could cause quite the societal upheaval. But she’s biding her time and waiting for the right moment to let it all loose.

What inspired her was the need for someone who knew what was happening, the real truth, but couldn’t do anything about it. But they couldn’t be powerless in the narrative, either. They had to be someone with clout. So I thought about the kind of person that might be and made everything about her serve a dual purpose, just like she does in the story.

She’s the Jenga block that sends the tower falling. There’s always one.

OC Lyric Challenge - Sparkplug

We don’t kill. Or, well, we try our best not to. Sometimes it can’t be helped. Those are always the worst times. 

Even the bad guys don’t kill, not always. And there’s reason.

The truest act of evil is killing. Which means the villains aren’t truly evil. They’re the bad guys. Bad. They’d never go that far. They threaten, yeah, but they never really go through with it. If you look close enough, their plans are never set up to kill. There’s always a fail-safe.

So we show up, we listen to their speeches and answer their questions and stall for as long as we can before we defeat them. We never kill. No one does. 

But our sidekicks are dropping like flies out there.

What does that say about us?

Keep you in the dark You know they all pretend Keep you in the dark And so it all began

OOooooo! @quilloftheclouds, I love this one, too! As a big video game nerd, I’m gonna have too much fun with this one.

Let’s get super carried away (ha, see what I did there?) and do it for all the Fish Food folks!

29. If your oc was in a video game, what would their idle animation be? (When the player stays still for too long, the animation that plays.)

For the sake of my imaginings, I pictured each of them idling in the lobby of their respective HQs or out in the middle of the city in full uniform. Both so they could use their powers at will and so I could pretend I made a video game for a hot second.

Iron Will would be standing with his arms crossed looking all official, then sneak a peek around, close his eyes, breathe deep, and let his hero posture drop completely. Then he’d jerk back into reality and quickly gather his hero-facade and nod at the nearest PC or NPC very official-like. 

Overseer has this fancy schmancy console strapped to his wrist that’s like a very high tech Apple watch crossed with a Pip Boy. His idle would be poking around on the screen, then it shoots out a couple sparks and he flinches and smacks it until it works again. Then he’d glance around and hope nobody saw that.

Lithium would probably hop backwards in a trust fall, land on the ground hard, and immediately bounce back up a little too high before landing on her feet with a slight wobble. Like people do on those big trampolines in gyms. But with concrete.

Babylon would pull a dossier out from somewhere, flip through it, sigh in a very put-upon manner, check their watch, and put the dossier away. This is, of course, accompanied by their signature Foot Tap of Impatience and Lost Efficiency.

Sparkplug would probably ignite a small fire in her hand and pretend to eat it to freak people out. Or play with a swirly ball of fire Jareth the Goblin King style (by which I mean contact juggling).

Nightmare would glance at the player over her shoulder and wink before turning back around like nothing happened.

Battalion (super special character I haven’t introduced yet!) would adjust the straps on her gauntlets, unsheathe her sword, do a couple flippy tricks with it, and put it back.

PRE-ORDER EXCLUSIVE IDLE ANIMATIONS - Other Powers

Iron Will: Pulls a soda can from somewhere and crushes it between his hands, then pulls his hands apart, revealing a fully intact soda can. Basically, an aluminum accordion. The item sometimes changes from a soda can to a small steel rod.

Lithium: Pulls a lighter out of her pocket, snaps it on, focuses on it until it shoots a HUGE flame jet into the air, clicks it off, and tucks it back into her pocket. 

Overseer: Drone Buddy flies in and spins a circle around his head before zooming off. Overseer is overjoyed.

Nightmare: Turns to face the player, the screen goes dark at the edges and shaky for a moment, turns back around, and the effect fades.

Less talked about, eh? For Fish Food, that means Babylon and Sparkplug. 

Oooh, these answers will be interesting with these two.

💛 - Friendship (Does your OC value friendship? To what extent? Describe their most important friendships and what they gain/give.)

Babylon is the most pragmatic of the whole cast. They value friendship only when it serves a purpose; otherwise, what use is keeping people around? That said, the person she’s closest to is Lithium. Which is ironic, since Lithium is also the person they absolutely cannot stand. 

Lithium always tries to request Babylon (whom she calls “Babs”) to be the lead comms agent on all of her missions. Barely half of her requests go through, and even fewer are approved. Lithium loves teasing them and poking the sleeping bear, so to speak. Babylon doesn’t mind as much as they seem to. Lithium keeps the day-to-day entertaining, at least. And she’s good enough on the battlefield. One time, she even said a joke that made Babylon smile.

While she wouldn’t call it a friendship, there’s one regular agent assigned to her sector of the Intelligence Division who is the most competent of all of them. If pressed, they might call this person a friend.

💜 - Compassion (Do they easily empathise with others? What is their relationship like with their parents? Does their sympathy easily turn to pity? Have they been met with much compassion through their life?)

Sparkplug (aka Jamie) can be overly empathetic if she doesn’t keep her heart in check. She does so by overruling her caring with hard logic, but it doesn’t always work. Which is why she’s in this whole mess in the first place. If she sees someone hurting, she feels the need to help out however she can. In context of the plot, this means becoming a vigilante in an attempt to collect information that could save lives.

Part of joining the Coalition means losing contact with a lot of people. Sparkplug kept her emails with her parents on the down low, though, so she was able to talk to them while she was with the COH. Now that she’s left, however, she hasn’t been able to talk to anyone other than her contacts because doing so might put them in danger.

Jamie transitioned during her hero training and was met with a whole heck of a lot of compassion and kindness. When she was injured in battle, the COH provided her with a state of the art prosthetic that she then modified on her own. The citizens of Conover City loved her when she was still on active duty, especially because she worked on the Rescue Team and saved people from building collapses and fires. But that all changed when the COH branded her a fugitive. That didn’t stop her from caring, though. If anything, it made her work harder.

First/Last Lines

I saw this fun thing goin’ around and I thought I’d hop on the bandwagon!

I haven’t written a whole lot for this WIP yet, but here are my characters’ first lines and what I want their last ones to be.

In order, we have: Lithium, Iron Will, The Overseer, Babylon, Sparkplug, and Nightmare. I used some of their real names because it looked better and I live for the #aesthetic.

Happy Storyteller Saturday~! 💖 Let's see... I'd love to learn more about your Fish Food cast, how about: If each oc had to (and I mean HAD TO. No getting out of this >.>) participate in an art exhibition of some kind, what would they make? Is it actually good? Would they enjoy making it?

Ah, @quilloftheclouds, continuing your tradition of asking me questions that make my brain run off into the sunset with an army of ideas, I see. 💜

I think I’ll take this one in a few different directions. I’ll do one for them as heroes/villains and one for them as off-duty civilians. The civilian ones will be listed first. And as for them being good, that’s up to you! 

This got long, so my very fun answers are under the cut!

Iron Will: One of his powers is structure-strengthening, which is also his favorite (because it’s the most helpful without being too damaging, of course), so he’d make a big twisty metal sculpture that looks like a demolished building. But if you look at it from certain angles, it takes the form of twisted metal bird wings. At a glance, you wouldn’t be able to tell how in the hell this thing is staying together. The artist is just that good. (Nope, he’s cheating, but he doesn’t care. Might as well use what you’ve got, right?) And he does enjoy making it. It’s not often that he gets to use his powers the way he wants to.

His hero one would likely be co-opted by the Coalition and turned into a big PR stunt because the poor guy can’t catch a break. I see it involving making statues by touching a big marble/stone block and strengthening the shape of the statue within it before they smash it and the statue emerges. Every sculptor’s dream. It works to show off his powers, his skill with said powers, give the COH some positive community-based PR, and show everyone how powerful they are. Will thinks it’s dumb, difficult, boring, and needlessly complicated.

Overseer: His civilian exhibition would be something goofy like making gingerbread houses out of circuit boards.

His villain one would be a little more intense, since he has to impress the higher-ups. And he’s got one word for you: drones. Programmed aerial drone sculptures a la Superbowl Lady Gaga. Drones flying around like swarms of swallows and bats. Drones programmed to fly in the shapes of heroes who get defeated by the great villains of the council. He goes absolutely hog-wild with it.

Lithium: As a civilian, an open house of her bar with all of the hero memorabilia all over the walls specially lit for artistic viewing, accompanied by multi-media projections/holograms of life-sized heroes walking around among the patrons (she totally asks Overseer for help with this). As a hero, a black and white photo collage of her high-fiving people she’s saved interspersed with her high-fiving the villain’s she’s helped arrest. All on the scene and in costume, of course. 

The first would be social commentary on how people tend to idolize heroes while they exist as “one of us,” walking among the masses just like anyone else. The second would be commentary on how villains and civilians are one and the same, just requiring different methods of intervention. Both would get her reprimanded by Coalition HR, of course. Making Statements isn’t something the Coalition likes their employees to do. (She super duper doesn’t care though. My goofy headcanon is that she laminates her favorite reprimand letters and puts them in a photo album that she proudly displays in her living room.)

She loves making both of these because 1) she gets to show off her pride and joy and 2) she gets to stick it to the Man.

[She’d try being a human trampoline first before giving up on it after she convinces Iron Will to jump on her stomach to test it out, quickly realizing that it is a terrible idea.]

Babylon: They see this as a waste of time, but hey, there’s no getting out of it, so might as well make the most of the situation. But they wouldn’t put very much effort into it unless it’s for work.

As a civilian, they’d probably just transcribe a bunch of popular songs into the International Phonetic Alphabet and watch, very amused, as people try to read the lyrics out loud.

As a hero, they’d make sure only agents of the Coalition were invited, because their piece is a two-parter: First, a wall on which a bunch of head molds of various people are hung. Nearby are boxes of props, prosthetics, hats, wigs, glasses, makeup, etc. It’s an interactive exhibit based on disguise. Second, on the opposite wall, a neat collage of full color photographs of what appear to be 20 different people, but are all Babylon in various disguises. Is it braggy? Definitely. Do they care? Definitely not.

Nightmare: This one’s tough. Let’s see…

As a civilian, she’d do something like paint a huge mural in one of the poorer neighborhoods mocking the propaganda posters the Coalition puts out every once in a while. She’s big into satire.

As a villain… she’s practically the head of the CIIP, so it’d have to be big. Part of me says that she’d paint all the streets to mimic a Monopoly game board to make fun of the city’s not great economy, but that’s too tame. Since her power is inducing panic responses, I think she might collect blackmail material on as much people as possible and post it anonymously all over the city. No names, no identifying information, just dark, embarrassing information spread in the dead of night. That’s sure to send everyone into a panic.

Sparkplug: Her civilian art piece would be forging very cool light metal prosthetics and gifting them to veterans. She shouldn’t be the only one with a very cool and comfortable free one. Spread the love, as she says.

Her hero (or, rather, mercenary) exhibition would be hacking into large screens all over the city and showing real footage from heroes’ body cameras during big battles. Nothing too graphic, though. Just the kind of footage that shows people what it’s really like being a hero for the Coalition.

Hydrophase: Well, since I haven’t fully revealed what happened to him yet, I’ll include him for funsies. His civilian exhibition… hmm. I think he’d do something with old t-shirts. Like start a community project to collect people’s old shirts and make quilts out of them or somethin’ and donate them after the exhibition. He’s a nostalgic guy.

As a hero, I think he’d make one of those splash pad things that kids play on at malls and water parks and stuff, since his power is water-based. It’d be on an elevated platform and he’d stand under it and control all the water spouts and things and invite neighborhood kids to come play because he’s a very good dude. He has just as much fun as the kids.

There’s also a secret character who appears halfway through the story. I don’t wanna reveal who they are just yet, but what I can say is that their exhibition would be sword sculptures.

Let’s get angsty!

See, the obvious person to use for this is Iron Will, since it’s the event that kicks off the plot, in a way, but I wanna do something a little different.

I’m on a Sparkplug kick right now because she’s awesome, so I’m gonna keep it going.

🖤 - Loss (Have they ever lost someone? How do they deal with grief? Have they ever lost part of themselves?)

Like Iron Will, Sparkplug has seen her fair share of loss. She was friends with a lot of the sidekicks before they started disappearing. Hydrophase just happened to be the last straw. 

She “fled” the COH, which alienated her from a lot of her old hero/super friends. Most of them think she’s a criminal now. And the strongest support system in her life is now out to get her.

She deals with it like any adult: repression, stress eating, and denial. In order to get through all this, she needs to believe that she’s in the right, and that everything she’s doing is for the good of all the people who don’t realize what’s happening. 

The most prominent loss of hers, regarding parts of herself, would be that of her right arm. Sparkplug is generally a pretty positive, if a bit caustic, person, but it took a lot out of her for a while. Recovery was tough. And she had to relearn how to fight and write and type and do every day things, like rubbing her eyes without punching herself in the face, or eating grapes without throwing or crushing them. 

What kept her going was knowing that once she got control of herself again and recovered, she’d be able to get back to rescuing and doing hero business in the field with her new high-tech prosthetic.

Here are some AU podcasts:

FRED

A podcast about what life was like in medieval England and France! You might’ve read the blog, but now you can hear the podcast! Join host Fred Coriander as he takes a walk through history and tells you everything history books won’t.

Fred would be a great host! He loves to ramble about things he likes. Of course, he’d have to hire someone to edit the episodes. Best to keep the oops risk factor at a minimum. It would have some kind of structure that would be solid for the first five minutes before he hits a tangent and gets distracted.

GEMMA

Wonky magic got you down? Cary’s here to help! Once an anonymous forum-cryptid, this wickedly talented alchemist knows all the tips and tricks to turn your notions into potions and keep your mage grades up.

Gemma’s show would be posted under her pseudonym to avoid all that annoying legal business. It’s an advice show/case study program that does listener questions for the first half and a recipe explanation/walk through for the second half. She’s an excellent teacher and has photo references for her experiments. It’s sort of like her science journal.

And she’d totally use mimic philters to alter her voice for recording.

MEL

Subject-assisted surgery, fully organic prosthetics, all-natural spell-free permanent hair-dye - and that’s just the tip of the iceberg! Fae-expert and self-proclaimed master of all things weird Mel will take you on a journey into the not-so-distant future as she highlights the wildest things science has to offer. 

So, this one might be a bit of a surprise, but Mel is a huge nerd for weird science. Especially weird medical science. She might not be the best host, but she has the best info. If she gets on a topic she knows a lot about, she goes a little too fast for most people to keep up with, and if there’s a boring bit she usually skims over it or skips it entirely. Which would lead to a lot of confusion.

RYAN

Join Ryan Sinclair as he breaks down your screw ups and spills the tea on the world of modern tech! From high-brow corporate device schemes to how to power your home off the grid, Ryan and the occasional guest expert unravel what’s really going on behind the curtain.

Surprise surprise, Ryan would not be the best host. He stutters and has a lot of dead air, so he relies on guests to fill time and help him out. He’s got the know-how, just not the presenter skills to share it. So he brings on people like Andy and Jamie to make everything engaging and coherent.
