I’m trying to learn more about this mental disorder I might have and it doesn’t help when the ocd tag is flooded with people who just like their house clean.

The same goes for delusional disorder. No, it’s not you thinking your crush might like you back, it’s a fucking mental disorder and you are not helping people who have delusions by flooding their tags with your stupid incel culture.

Spiritual deep cleaning

Pain concentrates the mind wonderfully. If anything the last year has made my hyperfocus much more focused. You wait for the meds to work, for the nausea to stop, you concentrate on not puking in the car, pay attention to your ostomy bag. So in the small hours of the morning, waiting for the pain to be killed, I was on my phone.

Before I was diagnosed with advanced colorectal cancer, I would have told you that the meatspace people I knew were my friends. I was there for them, they'd be there for me. I didn't run at the tough shit.

I was wrong.

What I had was apparently extended acquaintanceships of convenience. A number of people in my life for a decade or more ghosted me hard, and some are trying to re-enter my life now that the tough shit seems to be over.

To which I can only say, "Fuck that."

I cleaned my phone. I blocked numbers and emails. I deleted them from taking up bytes and pixels in my contacts. They are gone.

One asked if I got any money from my mother's estate.

One wanted me to go hang out with her after she's blasted to smithereens every single bridge she had.

One said she missed talking to me and I replied, "Well, it's not like I went anywhere. You knew where I was the whole time."

One did not believe I had cancer, filed a complaint with GoFundMe, and hasn't spoken to me since GoFundMe told her to fuck off. In the middle of having cancer, I had to prove that I had cancer.

One wanted to help me move some stuff on eBay. Never heard from her again.

One tried to sell me her deceased dad's 20 year old double-wide trailer in a senior park in Arizona.

Some did nothing at all - no call, no text, no email, no hospital visit, no help. Yet here they come. "Hiiiiii! How are you?"

Fuck right off.

All told, fifteen people have lost the right to be in my life. I have a smaller circle of friends now. Like my Big Out Of Stuff from my dwelling space, it feels lighter and tidier. I am Marie Kondo/Swedish Death Cleaning my life, because as I go forward I am finding the shit that I thought really mattered, doesn't. What is left, what matters, is precious, and I will treat them as such - seven friends, two cats, and myself. My focus is remarkable now, and the spiritual deep cleaning will continue.

it actually smells better

this is the room my roommates locked their dog in when she was a puppy and let her pee all over the carpet. My partner and I tore out all the carpet and have been trying to get the pee smell out.

Our first attempt was with Nature's Miracle. It just made everything smell like perfume for a while and the pee smell kept coming back. I got it because it was readily available locally at stores.

But then someone recommended My Pet Peed (only available online) after I was complaining about my roommates' dog peeing on my tile floors on Facebook. (Yeah, they also let the dog pee all over the tile downstairs so it's not just this carpet)

It took two applications but the smell is gone!! It hasn't gotten any of the stains out of the wood (all their ads say it will) but we're painting it over with oil based primer (I wanted Kilz but I bought a different brand because it came in a bigger bucket) and then putting new floors in anyway so I don't care about the stains. It also got rid of the perfume smell from the Nature's Miracle!

I think we are going to fix this room up as a bedroom now. My partner didn't believe we'd ever get the smell out fully but we did!
