Fucking Finally Friday (affectionate)

So I finally worked on an actual WIP for the first time in weeks. Here's a snippet of the RWRB Bones AU:

“Don’t you worry that pretty blonde head of yours, sweetheart. I made it very clear that no one is allowed anywhere near the remains until you get there.”

Henry stops short, his Kensingtonian badge held out in front of him, since he needs it to call the elevator, “You told them that?”

“Yep.”

“Thank you, Alex,”

The sudden sincerity in Henry’s voice is disarming. Alex just shrugs, “I know how this works. We’ve been working together a year now, after all.”

The way Henry is looking at him could only be described as “fond”, but before Alex can say anything else, Henry playfully smacks himself on the forehead, “Is it our anniversary already? And to think, I didn’t get you a gift!”

”Nope! And that will be listed in our divorce settlement under “reasons this whole thing was a mistake.”

Henry laughs at that. Alex loves making him laugh. It wasn’t easy, in the beginning, but over time he’s learned. It’s one of the many things he’s learned about his partner.

It took longer than he cared to admit, but Alex has come to realize that what he once assumed was a cold and standoffish demeanor was just insulation. A way to compartmentalize. Henry valued the work he did and he did it well. But if he wasn’t careful… If he opened that valve a little too wide, the grief of it all would swallow him whole. It was better to stick to the facts. The science. The tangible truth of a situation. That was the only way through.

Alex has learned, over time, all the different shades of Henry’s moods. He knows now when to push, when to let go. It’s like learning a new language. One that only Henry can teach him.

WIP Working Towards Wednesday

I can do something three days in a row, yeah? Yeah! Sure. Why not.

...this may wind up being one of those things that I write, then I scrap and rewrite from a different point of view. It’s somehow winding up more about the boyfriends than Thomas...

As it is, I’m just praying that it reads okay without having them in the theater because I have very little concept how Rocky showings go on the other side of the Pond, other than ‘differently’.

Edit: Haha, nope, not even finished and I’m switching it to Thomas’s PoV. La~a~a~!

Guy, who had walked up behind the other man, placed a hand on his shoulder. “I told you, you look like one of the characters. So does everyone else, they just chose more extreme characters.”

Chris, who despite occasional evidence to the contrary could, in fact, read a situation, nodded cheerfully. “Right. You actually fit right in, believe it or not.” His eyes scanned the crowd, then he stretched up and pointed. “In fact look! Right over there. There’s another Brad, complete with Janet.”

The whole party turned to look. Sure enough, about ten feet off there was a man dressed almost exactly like Thomas, with an appropriately timid looking woman on his arm. Of course, the timidity might have been an act, under the circumstances. Glancing at Thomas, Richard could see him reluctantly relax. “Alright, then.”

“Guy, on the other hand…” Chris frowned at the fourth member of the party. “We’re at Rocky Horror, mate, not a bloody premier.”

The actor shot them an innocent look, then looked down at himself. He was wearing a suit, and not a costume quality one either. It really was one of the suits he wore to events, although he had a flashier waist coat to go with it, and a seven fold rather than a bow tie. “What’s wrong with it? It’s always done before.”

Flatly, with an undertone of utter mystification, Thomas informed them, “He’s some sort of odd travel agent.”

It took a moment for things to click in Richard’s brain. When they did, he let out a soft guffaw. “Wait. You mean you want to take us on a strange journey?”

Guy grinned at him and replied, all politeness, “If I may.”

Chris looked if anything even more affronted. “You are too damn hot to be the Criminologist!”

I wish my issues were textbook.

I want to ask my therapist if my issues are textbook. I want it to be written down and easy to understand. I want to know there's hope.

I am so desperate to keep going. I feel so broken each day and nothing goes away.

I just feel fucking horrible.

I want normal issues. I want to be normal. Why was I five? Why couldn't I have had a few more years of just learning to be me instead of learning to survive?

I want it to just stop.

Every new smp/series I come across- i like to assign an overarching theme to it and this hc season is no different:

The mainland of Season 10 is riddled with pirates and cowboys. Each hermit is wanted of some charge, for one reason or another. As initiation, losing a life will remove that bounty and that hermit can start fresh. But becoming the last survivor, that hermit will be gifted the Treasure of the Island (whatever the reward Grian says it is 😭)

10 years in the making! I realised by stumbling upon my first (and only) cosplay photo sometime ago... I've been cosplaying for 10 years! So I thought it would be fun making it again. And since Kagome Higurashi is an archer and I am an archer, I thought why not go to my club and shoot? Once I have chipped away at them, eventually there will be videos going through how I made it and shooting at archery. But here it is, just so I can say that I did a thing.
