Right Hand Man Quadrilogy (Shrek Parody) Cast

Right Hand Man 1 - “Once upon a time, in a far away swamp, there lived an stickfigure named Right Hand Man (Puffballsunited) whose precious solitude is suddenly shattered by an invasion of annoying cartoon characters. They were all banished from their kingdom by the evil Queen Chrysalis (Kathleen Barr). Determined to save their home--not to mention his--Right Hand Man cuts a deal with Chrysalis and sets out to rescue Prince William Zeppeli (Joe Ochman) to be Chrysalis's groom. Rescuing the Prince may be small compared to his deep, dark secret.”

Right Hand Man 2 - “After returning from their honeymoon and showing home movies to their friends, Right Hand Man and Reginald Copperbottom learn that his parents have heard that he has married his true love and wish to invite him to their kingdom, called Far Far Away. Right Hand Man and his trusted companions, Bumblebee (Bumper Robinson) and Samuel Rodriguez (Philip Anthony-Rodriguez), set out to bring Giorno back but find their mission is a bigger challenge than they expected.”

Right Hand Man Forever After - “Long-settled into married life and fully domesticated, Right Hand Man (Puffballsunited) begins too long for the days when he felt like a real toppat. TFA AU: Humanformers

This was actually an AU I’ve thought about for a while, but was hesitant to share because I wasn’t sure I’d be able to explain it well. My writings on my AUs tend to disorganized already, so I wanted to wait to I could properly explain this AU idea before sharing. I think I can explain now, but in case you still don’t understand it, don’t be afraid to ask, and I’ll answer the best I can.

Humanformers

As the title hints, this is an AU where our beloved Autobots are humans.

In this AU, the main Autobots start out as humans, but gain the ability to turn into giant robots thanks to the Allspark.

However, in this AU, the bots they turn into had lives of their own on Cybertron. I wouldn’t really call this a reincarnation thing, more like they main characters were given the ability to transform into Autobots that had died.

I actually got inspiration from Steven Universe, mainly how Steven inherits his mother’s abilities after giving up her physical form for him to be born, but he inherits her problems as well and most of his enemies think he’s his mother when they first encounter him.

So that’s a major theme in this AU, the characters often have to deal with the consequences of their predecessors’ actions.

They’re basically Superheroes in this AU, more than they already are in the show. Meaning, they actually keep their identity a secret from others, with only Sari knowing their identity at first. Maybe Isaac Sumdac and Captain Fanzone later on.

And they basically look like their human forms from Human Error. It was there so might as well use it.

You know how in other TF shows, the main group are experienced and respected heroes? I’m going to use that here. While the crew in this AU basically have the same personalities as the canon, their predecessors’, the bots they turn into, were indeed those experienced and respected warriors. So while Decepticons and Autobots are expecting skilled heroes, what they really get is a bunch of rookies who have no idea what they’re doing or what’s really going on.

Characters

Optimus Prime: Orion Fanzone. That’s right, for this AU, he’ll be son of Captain Fanzone. He is a recent college graduate who just starts working at Sumdac Industries. While Fanzone isn’t too fond of machines, Orion would be pretty okay with them. He, of course, would be the reluctant leader of this team. At first, he would be pleased to be able to help people and be a hero, but he would be the most negatively effected by his predecessor’s past.

Prowl: Pierce Roberts. He’s a park ranger in this AU, which I thinks makes sense, since he loves nature in the show. I imagine him being least effected by his predecessor's past, and would even be sympathetic to what his predecessor went through, and the one who deals with having to deal with his predecessor’s past the best.

Ratchet: Rowen O’Donnell. A doctor, a veteran, and family friend to Captain Fanzone and Orion. He, at first, would want nothing to do with all of this, but would more or less be convinced to do so by Orion. Aside from Pierce, he would be more understanding to his predecessor's past, since, as a veteran himself, he can empathize with what his predecessor went through.

Bulkhead: Benjamin ‘Ben’ Hudson. A college student who is an art major. He would have a love-hate feeling for his new abilities. He would enjoy smashing things and would be pretty fun, but he would hate how much damage his accidently causes. He’ll learn to be more carefully and how to use his new abilities for his art.

Bumblebee: Barry Baker. A high school senior. I wanted to keep him as the youngest, but not too young. He would be the most excited about being able to turn into a giant robot and would, at first, be irresponsible with his new powers, but he would mature over time and learn that he can’t just play around with his power. ‘With Great Power comes Great Responsibility’.

Story

In this AU, during the Great War between the Autobots and Decepticons over the Allspark, there was a finally battle between Megatron and Second-in-Command Optimus Prime, Top Medic Ratchet, Master Cyberninja Prowl, Wrecker Bulkhead, and Scout Bumblebee.

However, while the Autobots are victorious, Optimus Prime and his team did not survive, and their ship and the Allspark was lost. Many assumed the team killed Megatron, but Starscream had a hand in Megatron’s demise.

And as we know, Megatron and the ship would fall to Earth, with the ship falling to Lake Erie and Megatron being found by Isaac Sumdac.

The only thing that would remain of the original team would a shard of each of their sparks. And those shards would somehow find a way to the new team, and those shards would allow them to transform.

Eventually, the team would find a way to each other. For now, I imagine them all coming together during that monster attack during part 2 of the first episode “Transform and Roll Out!”

I imagine they had transformed at least once before the events of that episode, but that would be the first time they would’ve done so together. They’re fighting and teamwork would be sloppy and uncoordinated at first, but they would manage to get the job done and save Sari.

Shortly after their victory, the Allspark would call them to it, and wanting answers, the group would follow, with Sari being brought by Barry in secret.

But of course, they wouldn’t really get any answers as the Allspark is a very cryptic item. But it would still give Sari her key, which can still allow her to heal the crew in their robot forms and use it on other machines.

Sari would be the one who suggests they become superheroes. Barry and Ben would be quick to agree, Orion and Pierce would hesitate at first, but eventually agree, and Rowen would be “No, I’m too old for this.” Orion would eventually convince him to join.

So overall, the show would be about them being Superheroes, with only Sari knowing their identity and aiding them in whatever way she can.

But like a lot of superhero stories, it doesn’t take long before their secret lives as heroes start affecting their civilian lives, both in good and bad ways.

And it gets worse when Decepticons come after them, wanting to kill them for reasons the team doesn’t understand and thinking their someone else. Starscream would be the first, wanting to take the Allspark from them and gloating at how he killed Megatron, and they don’t even know what the heck he’s talking about.

A Rescue Bots AU where everything is the same, but at some point, Cody starts to use punk/emo/black clothes not because he feels sad, but because he likes the esthetic and Heatwave likes things with spikes.

And so, on the outside, he looks like a cool punk rocker but when someone talks to him he shows the warmest smile anyone could give!

His dad and family want their little sunshine back!

This would be fun to see!

I can see this happening sometime after season 3 or even season 4. He decides since he’s grown so much since meeting the bots, he wants to try a new look.

I imagine he would go punk/emo style because the style is cool, tough, and maybe to show he may be a nice guy, he isn’t a naive little kid.

At first, everyone would be greatly concerned and are worried something’s wrong with Cody.

But Cody would show that he’s still the sweet, compassionate boy they know and love, he just wants to try a new look.

Heatwave would definitely like the new look, I can even imagine he would aid Cody as he creates his new look.

Chase would disapprove, thinking Cody looks like a hooligan, but since Cody doesn’t engage in any illegal activity, he wouldn’t try to stop Cody.

Blades would not like it at all, thinking the new look is scary and he wants sweet Cody back.

Boulder wouldn’t really understand, but he would be supportive in Cody wanting to try new looks and styles.

Charlie would be concerned, but seeing that Cody is no different personality-wise, he would chalk it up as a phase and allow it.

Kade would think he looks like a punk and might pick on him about going through a goth-phase, but he wouldn’t really disapprove of the new look.

Dani would actually like it, but she would tease him a bit how Cody’s too sweet to really be punk/emo, but she would like the new look.

Graham would definitely be concerned and would question why Cody likes this aesthetic so much, but he wouldn’t really say that he doesn’t like it.

The town would definitely be surprised by Cody’s new look, but Cody would quickly put their worries to rest by proving that while he looks different, he’s still him.

Pokémon Bede's League Cards

Something that I've noticed and but never really paid much attention to (and I've never seen anyone else talk about it), is about Bede's League cards:

These Cards have two different signatures!

That might not be a big deal but on the major league cards, the regular and rare cards have mostly the exact same signature.

There are only three exceptions:

One Card having a signature while the other is blank. (Hop, Marnie, and Piers)

The signature being the same, just in different colors. (Melony, Mustard, and Honey)

Ball Guy only has one card.

Bede's card really stands out because the signature is entirely different. Maybe it's to symbolize he's in a better place, developed into a better person thanks to Opal's influence. He went from an orphan desperately trying to please his 'father figure' Rose, to a Gym Leader under the guidance of someone who actually cares about him and his well-being.

That's just my thought. If anyone else has thoughts on this, please share!

Honestly, this has been on my mind for so long, but this was before I was really invested in Tumblr and by the time I was, the game was out for a while, so I decided not to say anything about it. Until now, that is.

Pokemon Iono and Klara

When I first saw the new Gym leader, Iono, in the lastest trailers for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, the first thing that came to mind was how similar she was to Klara from the Isle of Armor DLC for Pokemon Sword.

First glance, their designs are pretty similar to me, just different type themes, like Klara is Poison while Iono is Electric.

They both have pink hair with pokemon-themed hair accessories, Klara has a white Dustox bow and Iono has Magnemite hair things.

Those boots they have look rather similar, just, again, different themes.

They both present themselves as cute and bubbly, but there is something about them that indicates that that's not entirely who they are. Klara looks like a bubblegum pop girl, but is vindictive and calculating, and Iono looks cute and energetic, but those sharp teeth indicate that she is a fierce gym leader.

And they both seem to be focused on their popularity and image as well as their skills as gym leaders. Klara was an underground pop singer who decided to become a gym leader to become more popular and mostly wanted people to dote on her before getting serious about her training. And Iono is a streamer and influencer, so popularity must be an important thing for her, if her stream is any indication.

They give me the impression that if ever met, they would act like BFFs in public, but would be heated rivals, both in terms of popularity and skills as gym leaders.

The Tuskegee Airmen were a group of African-American and Caribbean-born military pilots who fought in WWII. They formed the 332nd Fighter Group and the 477th Bombardment Group of the Army Air Forces. The name applies to the navigators, bombardiers, mechanics, instructors, crew chiefs, nurses, cooks, and other support personnel.

All African American military pilots who trained in the US trained at Moton Field, the Tuskegee Army Air Field, and were educated at Tuskegee University. The group included five Haitians from the Haitian Air Force and one pilot from Trinidad. It included a Hispanic or Latino airman born in the Dominican Republic.

March 22, 1942 - The first five cadets graduate from the Tuskegee Flying School: Captain Benjamin O. Davis, Jr. and Second Lieutenants Mac Ross,

Charles DeBow, L.R. Curtis, and George S. Roberts. They will become part of my the famous 99th Pursuit Squadron. List of Tuskegge Airmen.

Summary: (Part 2 of The Right Thing - this will be a chaptered fic) Captain Hudson knows that you and Lucas are more than just friends, and after changing your shift rotations to make sure you’re not on duty together, you take things into your own hands and request a transfer from seaQuest. Before your transfer can be processed, officers and crew begin showing signs of extreme anxiety, anger and paranoia. Some are worse affected than others, you being one of them. Can you fight for not only your relationship with Lucas but your state of mind?

Lucas and you were given access to the Ward Room systems which linked in to the mainframe and all the helm systems from the bridge. The two of you were also able to access the UEO files, databases, programs and Intranet. Everything was at your fingertips, and every couple of days you would have an additional person on hand. Normally it was Tim O’Neill, but a couple of times Commander Ford had taken leave of the bridge to assist you.

On your eighth day, you put your forehead down on the wooden desk and growled in irritation.

“Hey, it’s okay,” Lucas reassured, sitting beside you. He placed his hand consolingly on your shoulder, rubbing in a soothing motion. “We’ll get through this, I promise. We’ll find something.”

You looked at your boyfriend and sighed. A tear of utter defeat slid down your cheek, which you pushed away with the back of your hand. “I started all of this, Lucas. Maybe if I’d kept my mouth shut and we’d have just remained in the ignorance…”

“No,” Lucas demanded. “Don’t think like that.”

“I told you when we first started that this was my f - …”

“Stop that!” Lucas hissed. “I’m proud of you for what you did, and so you should be. How many people can say that they follow their intuition on something as big as this and it turns out they’re right? By taking him down, we’re stopping more people being experimented on like we were.”

The frustration in you hit full tilt and you shoved your chair away, the wooden legs scraping through the carpet. Without another word, you left the Ward Room, the door slamming behind you. Why was everything crushing down on you so hard? You couldn’t quite fathom it. Of course Lucas was right, but he was also very biased when it came to you. He would always take your side, and you knew that. He would never criticise your actions because he loved you.

In your quarters, ten minutes later, you sat down on your bed. And now the guilt began to set in for leaving Lucas in the manner that you had. Just as you were about to put a call through to the Ward Room from your computer, your door knocked.

Lucas entered. “I figured you’d come here,” he said with a weak, lop-sided smile.

“I’m just so sorry,” you said softly. “I feel like everything is on top of me and I can’t carry it.”

“No one is expecting you to carry it all,” Lucas told you and sat beside you. He held your hand in his and took a moment to look at you, feeling his whole body lighten. You truly meant everything to him; you were his best friend, his girlfriend, his confidant. seaQuest had always been lonely for Lucas Wolenczak; him coming aboard as a sixteen year old, forced among adults and expected to be one of them. But he had still experienced the trials of any teenager, most of all, loneliness. Now, as a man, he didn’t feel that anymore.

You rested your head on Lucas’ shoulder and sighed. “I didn’t mean to take things out on you. I just…I feel so stressed. More than I have for a long time. I know what’s at stake with this, and the longer we take in finding Cullen then the more chance of him getting away and doing it again.”

That evening and Lucas joined you in your quarters, the two of you still working away on your personal computer, like every evening so far since you had come back to the boat. The two of you alternated in your trips to the mess hall for coffee and snacks.

Just as you were about to consider your next trip for drinks, Lucas suddenly called out. “I think I’ve got something!”

“What?” you asked, nearly stumbling over your own feet in your race to get back to the other side of the room and peer over his shoulder.

“You know all the files that I tried to send from the base where we were, and then found a virus had been initiated to make sure the files couldn’t be read elsewhere? Well, I think I have a file that isn’t completely unreadable. I’m still trying to piece it together, but it looks promising.”

There, on the screen in front of you, were the words ‘de-fragmenting’. This was something you had always assumed was to ensure better use and storage space on your hard drive, but this wasn’t the time for questioning Lucas on the fundamentals of computer language and coding. Basic working knowledge of the machines and their programs was all you needed to know. Anything else and that was Lucas’ forte. Your speciality was analysing the data, preferably qualitative data, once it had been brought together. Gaining the data was something that you were limited in your knowledge of.

Coffee only took you so far, and by midnight you were dozing on your bed. A random memory played in your head. Your first day of school. You felt small, overwhelmed and ready to run out of the room. There were children playing; some were playing in a small sand pit, others with Lego. And some were sat at a table with the teacher, beginning their basic numbers. You gripped your daddy’s hand and tried to hide behind him.

And then that sudden, blood chilling sensation of falling hit you. You jerked awake, only to see the back of Lucas’ head. His shoulders were hunched and you could tell now that the stress was also beginning to take its toll on him. The long hours you had been putting in were taking their toll. And the only thing you had to look forward to now was shore leave in three days’ time. Captain Hudson had been ordered that for the remainder of the tour now, you were to be stood down before the new one began in a week. This meant that you would have four days leave. Four whole days alone with Lucas. No work whatsoever, you had both agreed. However, you suspected that your conversation would no doubt take a turn in that direction. It would probably be impossible for you both not to speak at all about seaQuest. Afterall, it was practically your life, and the very thing that had brought you and Lucas together. The boat was the foundation of your relationship, the bare bones that everything else had been built upon.

You got up from your bed, stretching your tired muscles and then stood behind Lucas, placing your hands on his shoulders. You massaged gently, listening to him groan in relief at the soothing sensations. “Come to bed,” you whispered at his ear, and then kissed his temple. “I’ve been keeping it all warm for you.”

Lucas chuckled. “That does sound good. But I think…”

“No, you don’t think anything. Bed, please,” you instructed.

Both of you were still fully clothed in jeans and matching checked shirts as you got into bed, Lucas holding you from behind. He sleepily kissed your neck, smiling. “I love you,” he whispered.

“I love you, too,” you replied.

To think that only a few months earlier and you had questioned your whole relationship with Lucas, nearly walking away from any kind of romance completely. And now, here you were in so deep that you knew backing out would be impossible. The age gap didn’t matter anymore, nothing did. Both of you wanted to be together, and that was enough.

You and Lucas were called into the Ward Room the next morning, along with Commander Ford and Tim O’Neill. Captain Hudson led the meeting with you all, sitting at the head of the table. “I know that the last two weeks have been difficult, with very little leads, but I wanted to personally thank you for your hard work and professionalism on this, especially you, Lieutenant, and Ensign Wolenczak. The two of you have worked tirelessly, and all I can offer you both is an extended shore leave, effective as of today.”

“Really?” Lucas asked, his eyes brightening. “Thank you, Sir.”

You sighed and slouched back in your seat, the weight of all of this pressing so heavily on your shoulders.

“Can I ask what’s wrong, Lieutenant?” Hudson asked, straightening his back and tightening his lips in a defensive manner.

You sighed again and looked up at the Captain. “Sir, I still feel I’m somehow responsible for all of this, and I owe it to everyone to catch this…”

Lucas immediately interjected. “I keep telling you…”

“Thank you, Ensign,” Hudson instructed. “You are responsible for nothing that that man did, do I make myself clear?” His dark eyes bore into your gaze. “You are not to carry any of this on yourself. Without you, this whole investigation would never have been underway. None of us would have been the wiser. It was only you that suspected something. I should bear the responsibility of this, not you.”

“No, Sir, you shouldn’t…” you replied.

“You are all under my responsibility and my duty of care, and I lost sight of what was really happening.”

You smiled at Captain Hudson, finding that you had come to genuinely like him and appreciate his way of command this last sixth months since Captain Bridger retired. Hudson may have been more vocal in his distastes, and ready to fly off the handle, but he was also very fair, and his role as Captain was something that he lived and breathed.

“Thank you,” you said.

You, Lucas, Ford and O’Neill gave Hudson a quick brief of the updates you had made. But the only thing that had come to light was Lucas’ defragmenting file. And Captain Hudson had left that in O’Neill’s care so you and Lucas could begin your extended leave.

In your quarters a short time later and you began packing clothing. You had already had a shower and changed out of your uniform, exchanging it for your usual jeans and a bright T-shirt. Lucas was to meet you in ten minutes in the docking bay where you would both be taken ashore to the main berth of the sub, New Cape Quest, and the shuttle would dock. A dull ache throbbed behind your eyes and in your temples, a sure sign that you would no doubt need your sunglasses once ashore. Stress always caused you to become sensitive to light.

You took another look through your case, checking that you had packed enough underwear for a week and that you had not forgotten your journal. That book had become your lifeline in the last two years, documenting all of your random thoughts. Some of the entries had been written sitting in the mess hall at dinner, others when watching a film with Lucas and Tony Piccolo. But the longer, more intense entries had been written late at night or early in a morning when sleep would not come. Dosing up on caffeine failed to wake you, so instead you turned your mind over to your journal. Sometimes you would doodle in the margins, drawing random flowers and animals. Now you yearned for time away in a coffee shop somewhere, a large mug of steaming latte next to your arm and the smell of the coffee grounds hanging sharply in the air. You wanted normality, a time that was reminiscent of before you enlisted in the Navy. But hadn’t you initially enlisted because of your abnormality when it came to society? What was normal anymore?

Once you and Lucas were ashore, you stepped out into the bright sunlight and took a deep inhale. There was nothing like that sudden sharp, intake of fresh air. Lucas smiled at you, knowing that this was something you did each and every time that you stepped ashore. He’d seen you do it so many times and it made him think back to the first shore leave that he’d had with you on board. You had slipped so easily into two friendship groups, one with Lucas, Piccolo and Dagwood, the other with Lonnie Henderson and Jim Brody.

At the local hotel, you and Lucas checked in, a king size room having been booked. Then you ascended the five floors to your room in the elevator. The room gave you a gorgeous sea view. Watching it from a distance relaxed you, rather than living beneath it for weeks and months at a time. The view caught your attention for a while, until you felt Lucas’ arms wrap around your middle from behind. “Are you still worried about everything?” he asked, sensing that your mind was occupied elsewhere. “This time is for us. Please try and enjoy it.”

“I will. I promise.” But you knew that you probably wouldn’t be able to fulfil that promise. When had things changed so much? Two years ago and you were more carefree, and so was Lucas. Something had changed in both of you. Adapting to a world ten years in the future had been difficult. Re-connecting with family was emotional. All family of crew had assumed you dead, so walking into a future life with ten years missing had been a huge shock. Captain Hudson had changed the dynamic of working on board seaQuest, and now that Lucas was an officer, your relationship with him had also changed. Nothing was familiar anymore. You wanted to go back to how things were.

When I was a kid I remember hearing the Gordon Lightfoot song The Wreck of The Edmund Fitzgerald from 1976. Being a child it scared me and filled me with a wonder for those who make their living at sea. It sparked something in me, in the following years I read many books on ships and submarines lost at sea like the RSM Titanic, the SS Andrea Doria, the Mary Celeste, USS Squalus (SS-192), the USS Cyclops and the like it is something that still fills me with fear and respect for those folks. On this day, Nov. 10, 1975, the SS Edmund Fitzgerald broke apart and sank in to the bottom of Lake Superior near Whitefish Point. Here’s a complete list of the crew and their roles at the time of the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald:

What I Read in August 2021

I... my first draft got deleted and that took forever to make so please like this for my sanity. I bookmarked 26 fics and read 1 book this month, so not as much as my previous two months but still! The majority is Harry Potter, but there's a spare Sherlock one and Friends one in there. A lot of these fics have other people raising Harry because that's just what I've been in the mood for lately.

44 Years Ago Today — The Sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald,

At over 700 feet long and with a dead weight tonnage of 26,000, the SS Edmund Fitzgerald was the largest freighter of the Great Lakes in the 1960’s and 70’s. However the Edmund Fitzgerald would go down in history as a doomed ship, its fate foreshadowed when it took three blows to break a champagne bottle on her bow at her christening. From 1958 to 1975 the Edmund Fitzgerald hauled iron ore from mines in Duluth, Minnesota to iron and steel mills in Detroit, Toledo, Buffalo, Cleveland, Chicago, and other Great Lakes ports.

On November 9th, 1975, the Edmund Fitzgerald set off on a run from Superior, Wisconsin to a steel mill in Detroit. The next day the Fitzgerald was caught in one of the worst storms in Great Lakes history, with waves over 35 feet high and hurricane force winds. At 3:30 PM the Fitzgerald reported that it had sustained topside damage and was heading for safe port in Whitefish Bay, Canada. 40 minutes later the Fitzgerald requested radar assistance from a nearby ship, the Anderson, as she had lost radar capability. By 6:00 PM the Fitzgerald reported,"I have a bad list, lost both radars. And am taking heavy seas over the deck. One of the worst seas I’ve ever been in." The Anderson continued to guide the Fitzgerald into Whitefish Bay, until it was itself struck by a large wave and force to seek safe harbor. At 7:00 PM the Fitzgerald sent its last radio signal reporting, "we are holding our own.” By 7:30 the Fitzgerald had disappeared from radar screens and no longer responded to radio calls.

The Edmund Fitzgerald took all 29 crew with her, leaving nothing behind but an oil slick and some assorted pieces of wreckage. Four days later the wreck was discovered using sonar, located 530 ft below Lake Superior. She was only 15 Nautical Miles from Whitefish Bay and safety. None of the crew’s bodies were ever recovered. After most shipwrecks, gas from decay causes corpses to float back to the surface. With an average temperature of 36 degree F (around 2 Celsius), decay is prevented or delayed, causing corpses to remain on the lake bottom. Thus it is said Superior never gives up her dead. Over the coming decades the wreck has been studied and surveyed, with numerous theories offered as to the reason for its sinking. The most prominent feature of the wreck is the fact that it had been ripped in half, either before of after its sinking. It is often suggested that the Fitzgerald was overloaded, causing large waves to create stress fractures on the Fitzgerald’s hull. According to the Anderson the Fitzgerald faced three rogue waves in succession, a phenomenon known as “The Three Sisters”. Numerous other factors are to blame for the Fitzgerald’s sinking.

After the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald and to this day the Mariners Church in Detroit maintains the tradition of ringing the ship’ s bell, which had been recovered from the wreckage, 29 times in honor of the 29 dead crewmen.
