“oh I’m 100% human” says the Batkid who’s been inoculated against 76 different kinds of Scarecrow’s fear toxin, has built up immunity to almost anything Poison Ivy has created, routinely goes diving into the Gotham harbor on patrol, has been blessed/cursed by a variety of deities (depending on the kid), frequently picks up random/temporary powers from various missions, and operates at beyond peak human capabilities in combat, athleticism, and intelligence.

Bruce finally decided it’s time to reveal his identity to Superman and Wonder Woman, so he takes off his mask…and is met with two blank faces. Zero recognition.
Like, Bruce Wayne is in that celebrity category of being famous for being rich and famous and also as a local celebrity, so I like to imagine that outside of Gotham, if you’re not that into celebrity culture, you probably wouldn’t recognize him walking down the street. And yeah, Clark’s a journalist, but the celebrity stuff and charity fluff pieces aren’t really his area and Diana’s never really understood the fascination with celebrities. So yeah, they don’t recognize their coworker sans makeup and expensive clothes, with helmet hair, looking like he hasn’t slept in 48 hours.
So now Bruce has to sit there, trying to figure out the least dickish way to say “don’t you know who I am?” bc he’s just not used to the lack of reaction. So he finally stumbles out with, “do you not recognize me?”
And Clark is feeling the awkwardness now but trying to be polite, “I’m so sorry, have we met as civilians before?”
“N-no, that’s—that’s not what I meant.”
Diana, trying to be helpful, “oh, are you some kind of celebrity?”
“Uh, yeah. Yeah, I am.”
“Oh,” Diana is excited now, “are you one of those influencers I’ve heard of?”
Bruce thinks a little part of him just died inside. “No, no. I’m…no.”
He’s trying so hard to think of the best way to explain that’s he’s famous for being rich, stupid, and having his parents killed traumatically in front of him but without sounding like that guy, like he’s trying to brag to his coworkers bc he’s not, he’s just used to bigger reactions, okay?
But now Diana and Clark are staring at him all politely and earnestly, wanting to learn about their teammate, meanwhile Bruce is trying to shrink into himself like a turtle bc he’s feeling super embarrassed and he would have played this whole thing differently if he’d known this is how it was going to go

Re-watching Spiderverse. My curiosity wills me to make an AU where Jason gets thrown in an intricate mess of multiverses where he's adopted by almost all Bruce variants.
"So let me get this straight,"
of course, he's god's most hated freak, and the ONE person who can guide him through this mess is a small, annoying, cartoon version of Dick.
"This is a network of intricate, interdimensional realities stitched to a 'canon' tapestry. And Batman has to lose me in every single one to hold it up."
"Sure! There's a less idiotic way of putting it, but I like your enthusiasm. "
Jason's urge to squeeze this funko pop motherfucker until the life slowly bleeds away grows. It can wait, thought.
Currently, he's trying to help with neutralizing a version of Bizarro. Poor guy must've gotten lost again. Very strange that only one Bruce accompanied him, thought.
"So how many Batmen are there, exactly? Seems like one's enough." He mutters, refusing to let the familiar warmth infest his body when thinking of how they look at Jason.
Like the universe ends and starts with him.
"Oh there's a whole bunch! We have 80s Batman, cowboy Batman, Batman who cries, Batman who sings opera, Looney Toones Batman, -- a personal favorite, -- really the numbers are unlimited!"
Jason watches with strange sense of unease as this one variant handles Bizzaro. "And that's who? Biker gang leader Batman?"
Nightmite gets quiet for a second. Jason pauses, because THAT’S strange.
This eery nervousness only springs when this Bruce, -- not as old as everyone, hell, not even as old as JASON, -- glues a green device on Bizzaro's chest and leaps away.
"That's, uh...Batman who kills."
Jason doesn't have time to react as a booming explosion overwhelmes his senses. His knees are weak. And not just because the ugly stench of burning flesh invades his senses.
But because this Bruce, this Batman, is aiming for him and quick. That mask sends him right on edge. He hates the way it only covers Bruce's mouth, forcing Jason to gaze into sharp, brutal blue eyes.
"Jason?"
"What the fuck is wrong with you," Jason snarls before anything else. "He was detained! He wasn't a threat anymore!"
"He got roofed with red kryptonite and destroyed half a neighborhood. What did you want me to do?"
"Come up with another plan! Trap him, knock him out! Blowing him to pieces doesn't solve anything!" Jason yells, Nightmite looking incredibly worried and hiding behind his shoulder. "Try TALKING to him. Show him some fucking mercy."
"We tried that before. It's not working." He says, "Mercy doesn't get results."
"It gets you HUMANITY."
"If your Batman thought you that, he already failed."

Okay but realistically imagine what Bruce would do when Jason came back.
Chasing this knee criminal who keeps referencing his dead son. Pushing his buttons. How dare he presume to know anything about Jason. The lost light of his life, his baby boy. He can feel that darkness creeping around the edges of his mind. That pit of anger and murderous rage he is scared he will never pull himself out of.
Hearing that robotic voice taunting him about failing Jason, failing to avenge him. He tried, god he tried. He was so close he had the knife against the jokers throat. And then he was being pulled away. Clark stopped him. Told him that he wasn’t acting like himself.
God he loves Clark but he can still feel that small pit of resentment fester whenever he thinks about bleeding that clown.
How dare he say he never loved Jason. He would have given everything to have him back for even a moment. His wealth, his status, Batman, his soul, Gotham itself. There were only three things he would never trade away. His sons. His precious boys. He would destroy himself without a second thought for their happiness. If there was anything he could give, any price he could pay to just see his baby one more time he would do it happily.
Then they are alone. He’s cornered the Red Hood. An abandoned warehouse, a bomb. He should tear him apart where he stands. He dares to make a mockery of his greatest failure? How he failed Jason. His son. His baby. His world. He will make him suffer.
Then the helmet comes off. A young man. Gentle black curls with a shock of white running through them. A domino mask over his face. It can’t be. And the mask comes away. And Bruce sees them. Those beautiful blue eyes that have haunted every sleepless night. Filled with hatred. Swimming with green fury.
But none of it matters. All the anger in Bruce is gone. He tears of the cowl, he has to see, has to see his baby’s face. Jason has a gun leveled at him, but it doesn’t matter. Nothing matters because Jason is here. He is alive in front of Bruce. Every wish, every regret is washed away in that moment.
Bruce falls to his knees, it’s too much, more than a wretched creature like him deserves. Jason is stunned. His hand shakes slightly. He moves forward, places the gun against Bruce’s temple and still there is no fear, just wonder and adoration in Bruce’s eyes.
“Is it you Jaylad? Please this has to be a dream, please let this be real.” Jason is shocked he expected anger, disappointment, bargaining, but all there is is a father, a broken man looking upon his life’s purpose renewed before his eyes. Bruce reaches up, slowly, reverently, like at any moment Jason will disappear, he takes Jason free hand and holds it against his cheek and then Bruce’s weeps. Not silent tears or stoic crying. He weeps, snotty and red, hiccuping sobs wracking his body. He can only repeat Jason’s name like a prayer.
Jason doesn’t even realize he has dropped the gun. His Dad is caressing his hand, wailing and babbling apologies and platitudes. Jason feels himself sink to his knees. Tears spilling from his own eyes. His Dad still loves him, never stopped, he doesn’t even care that Jason had only a week ago filled a duffel bag with human heads. He is holding onto Jason like he is sacred and he can feel the anger breaking under the desire to be engulfed by his father.
In that moment they both know that no matter what happens, they’ve come home and for the first time in a long time they both feel whole.

You know those posts about Danny owning John Constantine’s soul for one reason or another, why just Constantine, why not have several people in the Justice League somehow in debt because of something or someone in their past; like someone’s mom selling their first born; or a stupid dare they did in their childhood; maybe someone asking for protection for their children in their last breath; maybe they got caught up in a ritual; maybe an old generational curse; or an old enemy
somehow this happens to the vast majority of heroes, villains, vigilantes, anti-heroes and supernatural. The only person confirmed to not be indebted to the Ghost King by the Ghost King himself is Batman

how would your AUs react to joker junior Tim? Like if it happened if they somehow became aware of the canon one, your choice.
just curious, I’m sorry it this stuff isn’t allowed rn
Well in some Au’s (like Court Family, Shuck, and Owl Song) it wouldn’t have a chance to happen. Mostly because I’m a fan of killing off Joker early and in a very unspectacular fashion (because Joker would hate going out without a show).
But in general terms, all of them would be horrified. And I think Jason would spend a fair amount of time being terrified of Tim, depending on how Tim’s recovery process is going. But… yeah, theyre just not a good combo during that time.
The others would try their utmost to help Tim, obviously. With various degrees of success. In most Au’s this would probably also be the last straw for anyone of the Bats (but I’m partial to Jason… which tracks) to kill Joker. Have him out of their lives once and for all.
Still, I think the largest issue here would be helping Tim recover while simultaneously not triggering Jason too hard. So… different wings of the manor for them both.

You think anyone in Gotham has ever made an edit of Bruce Wayne? Like I know he's not really like a, super celebrity, but I mean he goes to all these galas and events where a lot of really well know celebrities go, and there are reporters going to them too so there has to be some photos or videos of him. Or like those edits people make of older celebrities and the younger version of them.
Just saying, they would have the videos to make an edit. 🤷‍♀️
And yeah, maybe people don't really give a shit about him since he's not like an actor or musician or influencer or whatever, but people make edits of random, semi famous people all the time so it's possible that one or two people have made one.
I'm just thinking about one of the batkids stumbling across one of them.
idk man I've just been thinking and don't know how to write out my thoughts

Tim Drake has a weird fucking function
The thing about Tim that I find unique is that his life became SO MUCH WORSE after joining the heroing thing. Everybody else had a mid-to-shit life before becoming a hero/living with Bruce and mostly everybody (except Jason who LITERALLY DIED) had their life improved by being a hero/being Bruce's kid (or at least it is typically portrayed as such.
Tim had the exact opposite trajectory. His life wasn't perfect before he became Robin, but like...multi-millionaire/billionaire (canon is unclear, but he's within Gotham's upper-strata) kid with both natural intelligence + charisma and a bright future ahead of him and parents who were emotionally neglectful but nothing really beyond that (which is also a form of trauma, but all of the info we have indicates that the Drakes were no Arthur Brown or David Cain) and he still had other people he could rely on outside of them. He went to boarding school, which could be something horrible OR something amazing depending on your own thoughts/experiences. I grew up having a commute where we'd drive past a really pretty and rich af boarding school that literally everybody in our area DREAMED of going to, so to me the idea of going to boarding school sounds incredible but mileage may vary. Tim seems like the type of kid who would thrive in that though. Based on what we know in canon atm, his pre-robin life was fucking amazing.
And then he starts being the sidekick and working towards becoming Robin. His parents immediately get kidnapped and poison themselves through drinking tainted water; his mom dies and his dad is in a coma. This is not the fault of Robin, but Tim himself muses about the idea that Robin and dead parents are linked: to become Robin completely, you must lose your parents. And with how fate/destiny/canon events can operate in comics universes, maybe he isn't that far off. Once his dad wakes up, their relationship becomes strained as the man grieves the loss of his wife and realizes that his son has been doing vigilantism as a hobby. It is unclear exactly how good of a parent Jack was before the incident, but the results of Tim's involvement with the Robin mantle has definitely made things worse between father and son. Jack will also die within quick succession of 2 of Tim's best friends, his girlfriend, and his other father. He will also effectively lose like 1/2 his loved ones in the fallout of all of that mess including: his older brother, his other friends (both civilian and superhero), and the stepmother with whom he shared what I would argue is his best parent-child relationship (Dana also may have died, but it's left unclear). He has stopped pursuing higher education (the moment he even applied for college he 'died', and it seems he hasn't made another attempt since) and if he wasn’t a major focus of the media before he sure is now. He tries to quit briefly (in fact he initially was planning on quitting once someone more suited came along) and cannot bring himself to do so. Even when he does manage to get away for a while, his superhero life impacts the pre-robin life he is trying to go back to. Leaving is an impossibility, this is all there is for him now. He also isn’t allowed to make mistakes anymore, not when lives hang in the balance. The one who enforces that impossible standard the most (besides Bruce depending on who's writing) is himself. He’s got TRAUMA now and people want to hurt him constantly. He is constantly questioning his own sanity and morality and place in the world. He almost dies like every month. Tim grows colder and less grounded, he is becoming both a better and a worse version of himself at the same time. He’s saving lives in the same few issues as he’s setting up a Saw movie plot for the man who killed his father. He is haunted by the ghosts of his past and the looming figure of his future. His life becomes SO MUCH FUCKING WORSE after he becomes Robin. Some of it is the fault of others, some is the fault of circumstance, and some of it is due to his own actions. But basically all of Tim's worst traumas and life-changing moments are either tied to or caused by Robin. Dick's parents would still be dead, Jason would still be living on the streets, Stephanie would still have Arthur Brown for a father and a lot of other things that deserve their own posts/IDK if they've been retconned, and Damian would still have been raised in the eco-cult where death is a constant. Those are life circumstances that occur without the involvement of Robin, the only one who even needs Bruce involved at all in their series of events is Damian. But Tim? All of what is considered his 'worst' moments occur after he assumes the role.
This idea is what I find the coolest and most fascinating about Tim as a character. Being a hero is usually portrayed as either an outright awesome thing or a righteous duty that one must fulfill or (maybe in a grimmer and/or more grounded story) a sacrifice to your interpersonal relationships/mental health that is made for the greater good. For Tim, being a superhero actively ruined his life (both because of the general circumstances surrounding being a kid vigilante and the choices he made as part of that role). It's never portrayed that way in canon because we need to come out of issues going 'wow being a superhero is so cool! I'm gonna buy the next issue!', but when you just look at Tim's life literally everything really bad that we know of occurred after he became Robin.

Sometimes I think about the events of Superman: Emperor Joker and the fact Bruce knows what happened, even though he doesn't remember it. And I wonder how the fuck he coped with that.
Joker literally broke Batman. He killed him and then brought him back to life, again and again, each time with more ingenious torture methods, until he went mad. And at the end of the story, Joker is shown in a cell, crazy and babbling. Apparently the Universe has been put right after Joker's rampage, including Joker's own erased memories of it, but not... Bruce's. The things Joker put him through were impossible to undo. It was Clark who had the Spectre take away Bruce's memories of it all and put them in his head, so that Bruce might become sane again (supposedly, the Kryptonian biology helps).
But the thing is, Clark tells Bruce about it. Later on, one of Joker's plans seemed dangerously reminiscent of Emperor Joker, so Clark became understandably concerned that either Bruce or Joker remembered. (Actually, it's more fair to say Clark had PTSD post-Emperor Joker). It turns out that Bruce didn't recall anything, and Joker showed no signs of it either. But Clark ends up explaining himself to Bruce anyway. Bruce knows what Joker did:
Tumblr media
Action Comics (1938) #784
Needless to say, it's all very Superbat, especially on Clark's side. But the even more interesting part of all of this is... that the issue belongs to the bigger arc called Joker: Last Laugh. That's the plot that triggered Clark into thinking Emperor Joker was happening again. And this confession happens right before #6-- aka, the time Dick Grayson beat Joker to death but then Batman saved his life. Saving Joker is actually what Bruce set out to do:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The whole thing culminates with Bruce apparently giving Joker CPR to bring him back (the first of two canonical times, actually):
Tumblr media
Joker: Last Laugh #6
I really love it when context in comics makes an event that's already bonkers... even more fucking bonkers.
Because Bruce had learned that Joker literally drove him insane with such amounts of torture no human mind could withstand-- but still chose to save Joker's life. It wasn't even about making sure Dick doesn't become a killer, it was about saving Joker from the start.

On the subject of gotham county line and batman noel and so on and so forth it’s pretty frustrating (from a watsonian pov) that anytime Bruce hallucinates Jason being loving/ caring/helpful/compassionate towards him it’s always as robin and never as his current self
#it's ironic because Jason as robin never got the chance to become as obedient & devoted (malleable) to Bruce as he currently is#which is a result of being abused/manipulated for a more prolonged period of time#“maybe if I try harder and do it right this time he'll finally see the truth”#classic abuse tactic#no matter how well the victim fits the mold set by the abuser they’ll never acknowledge it#rather if they see you trying they’ll push harder and tell you you’re not perfect#the small shreds of affection here and there are important for motivating the victim to keep trying#kelseethe#Jason initiating the hug in rhato 27 after Bruce insinuated that those beatings will be a regular occurence bc he deems it a necessity#continuing to support Bruce even after Ethiopia and sticking around to help get Damian back#eagerly cooperating with Bruce + co in event leviathan then getting surprise pikachu faced/hurt after being betrayed#making a conscious decision to comfort Bruce in gotham war after Bruce fucked him up and left him behind#having undying conern for Bruce's wellbeing while Bruce regularly endangers his life#ex. Bruce's weird habit of committing vehicular assault on Jason whenever they're on the road demonstrated both in tfz and gotham war#point being: Jason was much more psychologically fit to be defiant towards Bruce when he was robin compared to now#he's more of a “good son”™ now than he was as robin Bruce is just too used to thinking whatever he wants and never being satisfied#the only times Jason got mad/upset at Bruce during one issue and continued to stay mad until the next#other than lost days and utrh was batman 410-411 and early in aditf before Bruce helps Jason find Sheila#so much worse has happened since then and all that just magically became water under the bridge off-panel

Im thinking about reverse robins brudick where Dick is so full of love to Bruce and he just wants to be loved back while Bruce is tearing himself apart because their age difference is so huge and he would never take advantage of Dickie like but he does love Dick back with all of himself too and just wants to make him happy but can't give him the thing Dick wants the most
