#a dnd continuation! more like an excuse to redesign their outfits and throw in douglas with them #if you compare the gameover/wendigo art and this one it looks like they grew up lol #for mandark i wanted to stick with his original design but combine his two iconic outfits into one with a fantasy vibe :D #his collar and pants is how i tried incorporating it and i honestly love his white collar but kinda sad i didn't know how to add his tie #a ruby gem gifted by dexter was placed instead #the last robe looked like a hoodie so i changed it to fit his cape from his og design to have more black on the outfit and point up collar #tried to add as much M's i could without looking tacky such as the gold one underneath the ruby which is also detachable #that allows him to take off the robe with ease #there's also a hidden gold m near his collar if you squint #mandark has M spilt on the back with golden lining and underneath everything is a long tight turtle neck #he wears a vest inspired by his leotard patterns which i love that it was caught and earrings with his signature M dangling from his glasse #lastly his staff which is inspired by his gun it's very multipurpose and his crystal ball can be removed and emit magic particles #mandark was supposed to have his elvish print on his clothing but i couldn't find a language alphabet for it #for dexter he's completely inspired by his fusionfall counterpart #his lab coat is lined with golden accents and wanted to add tech to his outfit so i add metal and circuit shoulders to honor his lab itself #the mirror of the shoulders is detachable and multi purposed such as a storage area and communication device similar to mandark's staff #i figured i'd keep the leather like previously for mobility and comfort compared to pure metal shoulders #he keeps a potion near his side for emergencies #then there's his necklace “MD” in dwarvish #i brought his wrench which wasn't considered much last time #dexter can press the button in the middle and quickly expand and vise versa for portability #quite honestly i gave douglas a basic outfit since i don't think he stands out in a fantasy world #his outfit is inspired by his originial clothes too mostly the colors #he does have a lil quirk of engraving D into things like puss in boots #sorry i made you basic human archer douglas LOL #im happy with it it literally took days researching and careful consideration of their designs haha #dexter's laboratory #dexter's lab #dexdark #flame draws

so immediately my mind went to ‘marriage? huh?’ because i just. can’t see either j or s caring so much about a ritual when they’re also so intertwined. like they’re soulmates ykno?a piece of paper or a ceremony won’t make a lick of difference to their bond, right? but if there does have to be one, then i totally feel like it’ll be that ‘character A brings the ring out and character B bursts out in laughter bc they have one in their pocket as well’ thing

maybe something like,,, one day someone, one of their friends or a random person, makes this comment about how ‘you still haven’t put a ring on it? damn’ and it’s like this—james and sirius aren’t insecure about their relationship, not really (but there’s a part of sirius that always thinks james can do better and a part of james that’s worried he’ll be Too Much for sirius one day and he’ll leave) but both of them are pretty possessive. and they’ve seen how much others thirst over their partners and how desirable they are and all that.

so. both of them, simultaneously but parallel(ly?), buy rings and plan a whole proposal out bc 1. they don’t ever want their partner to think they’re not valued and/or wanted, 2. they want the world to know this is HIS person, 3. doesn’t want anyone pawing what’s theirs, and 4. likes the possessive branding aspect of it.

and then they’re just trying to find the perfect time to propose (bc they’ve overthought the shit out of this for no reason) but it just. doesn’t. happen until one day, james gets annoyed and just. sits sirius down in the middle of the kitchen and goes ‘listen, i think we should talk’ proceeding to share the wits out of sirius who’s like ??? what happened???

james is like no. this is important. and gets the ring box out. sirius is goggling at him, james proceeds to give an endearing, bumbling speech and hopefully holds the ring out, hazel eyes wide and imploring, body shaking a little from leaning all his weight (and muscle) on one knee for so long, and just. generally being a face no one can say no to ykno?

except,,,,sirius just goes ‘you absolute tosser’ and storms/runs out the room and now james is kneeling there, blinking, not knowing what just happened. was sirius crying? angry? hurt? what. enter two point six minutes later, james is literally still in the same position, and sirius is panting a little from the flights of stairs. he pushes the chair aside and kneels right in front of james, holding one of his hands and bringing his own (coincidentally matching) box out of his robe pocket.

now it’s james’ turn to goggle.

(spoiler: both of they say yes of course. when they go to announce it to their friends in the trad way of ‘he said yes!!’ all of them facepalm and give them a deadpan stark like duh, ofc he did)

If there's one thing I like more than time travel it's crossover reincarnation, so.

An incredible weapon master of all types, but especially prodigious with a sword - he was beating knights at the age of 4 and with his memories as intact as they get for him I can see that goalpost moving even further (probably with traps and tricks, a 3yo doesn't exactly have great bodily control).

He's an excellent survivalist, agile, strong, durable, cunning and creative. He can move like a feather in the breeze, strike from behind with ease. His first kill, an animal, did not stir him as it did the other children. With his poise, grace, skills, obedience, he ought to be ra'as' finest assassin in the making, a jewel in the crown of the league.

Except he never speaks a word. Half his targets escape unscathed. He skates by true punishment on the merit of his skills and achievements in other missions. Testing has shown it is not a physical deformity that prevents his speech, but not even talia has been able to coaxe a word from him past his second birthday.

It is a defect ra'as is growing more and more frustrated by, as each attempt to fix these two final flaws ends in resounding failure. Less extreme solutions are running dry.

Talia fears those solutions. Her child does too, she knows. For them, there is a possible solution, more extreme than anything ra'as would tolerate.

She sends him out of the league. To his father.

Do you daydream a lot before you write, or go for it as soon as the ideas strike?

I am a constant daydreamer, sometimes to my detriment because it means I put off actually writing the thing. I've been getting better at taking notes when I think/ramble about a story for too long so I don't puzzle something out and then immediately forget it lol

22. Do you title your fics before, during, or after the writing process? How do you come up with titles?

this is different for all my fics but for See Fire specifically, I love the writing of the Chant, and I love that the major quests in DAI are named from it, so I just decided to do that as well. It felt extra appropriate for Aurelia because obviously all Inquisitors are tied to the Chantry whether they want to be or not, but she's also literally got it stamped on her face.

The specific lines for this title, "She should see fire and go towards Light / The Veil holds no uncertainty for her" are obviously related to her fire magic but mostly they're sort of aspirational/hopeful

62. In [insert fic], is there a deleted scene/idea you wish you could have included? Why did it get cut?

Aurelia and Dorian had a much more extended argument about why time magic doesn't make any sense in the original draft of ch8, but I had to cut it down because it didn't make sense for her to have done that much thinking about magical theory yet. RIP heated discussion of the mechanics of the haste spell

"What?" She softly breathed out, unable to believe what she had just heard.

"I love you, Y/n." Sirius repeated, gazing softly down at her.

Y/n's face broke into a huge smile.

"I love you too." She replied, making Sirius' face light up even more and he leaned his head down as Y/n felt her eyes flutter shut.

His lips brushed hers when Y/n's eyelids flew open and she moved back, earning a quizzical look from Sirius.

"What's the matter, love?" He asked confusedly.

Y/n slowly shook her head, stepping back, leaving the comfort and warmth of Sirius' arms. "This isn't real." She whispered. "This isn't real."

Indonesia isn’t necessarily possessive of Netherlands but he is pretty possessive of his feelings for the man. All his fondness and disgust, love and hate, and he doesn’t necessarily like others being nosy or questioning them, because these ARE exclusive. This is between him and Ned only. Ok this is projection but I think many if not most ppl here are like that about this one country lol, and it’s not as simple as a hatred aimed at a colonizer from a former colony. IF ONLY it could be as simple as that, lol, and Indonesia has had his fair share of existential crisis and angst over it at the dead of night, etc etc. He’s not an inherently angsty person tho, don’t expect a lot of it from him.

The hatred for a (former) enemy is of course expected, but it’s not just that. Indonesia also hates him for taking over his brain, for lack of better word. He’s not head over heels for the man or anything but he’s like a tumor in his brain, not lethal but very much annoying. And it stays. That’s the most unfortunate thing.

And he sometimes just. Relishes in those feelings, for these are the only moments Netherlands is his, and he is Netherlands’.

it lets actor’s skin textures still show. they are wearing makeup as expected in show roles, and I can still see their skin texture, the roughness of skin. they weren’t smoothed over with effects. its nice. thank you

and of course the effort they put into their magic concept design and execution. how every magic effect really visualizes what it is, how it’d work, how it compliments the acting choices made by the actor portraying that magic. i can think of very few xianxia where i felt the magic looked so well thought out to how it worked and should look
