Y’all. I just watched Batman vs TMNT, and without spoiling it…

If you like TMNT, go watch it. It’s funny, the turtles personalities are captured, Leo gets a little dose of ✨trauma✨, and Alfred sasses Mikey. It’s hilarious. It’s fun. It’s a little bit darker than usual TMNT, and I’ll hand it to DC, I don’t love Batman, but they aren’t afraid to get a little bloody.

I can’t speak from the Batman fans side of things, cuz honestly not really into Batman, but it was pretty good.

And also Batgirl looks a lot like April. But that’s just me.

Also Raph giving pep talks to Batman.

I know Leo is your favorite. I am curious what’s your opinion on Raph?

I love him! I actually love all the guys pretty much equally, it's just that I love Leo a tiny bit more.

The thing about Raph, though, is in some of the iterations he is reduced down to a base "angry guy" personality; and I prefer it when the writers tell us why he is angry, and show more aspects of who he is.

For example, the "why" being, as Splinter put it in my story "Something Wicked", when Raph got angry and punches things after... well, that's a spoiler:

"I am sorry if someone has hurt you in their anger," he said, placing his touch on the teen's arm. "But I swear to you that Raphael would never do so. He is first and foremost a protector, and he believes at this moment that he has failed in that charge. Would you feel any different, if one person you loved was missing, and two others unwell?"

He wants to protect people; that is his primary personality trait, not "angry guy". That is doubtless why he became Nightwatcher in the 2007 movie. It wasn't because he wanted to go out there bashing heads in (that was just a bonus), it was because he wanted to protect people, and when Leo left they stopped doing that. Interestingly, the things that Leo found distasteful about the Nightwatcher were very much the same things that Leo himself was doing in the jungle in South America, but it seems that Raph was actually more conscious of not killing anyone in the process (you can't tell me that Leo let that guy in the Jeep actually live... not with that blood-curdling scream).

But, yeah, Raph and Leo are actually very much alike in that they are protectors of others, except that Leo goes about it very differently. The jungle example notwithstanding, in most versions Leo is the big brother that goes to his younger sibling's bullies and gives them a calm warning; Raph is the big brother that goes to his younger sibling's bullies and pushes them against the wall and tells them to back the hell off or deal with him... then he goes home and smacks the younger sibling across the head.

He can be very soft when he wants to be, though, so those soft moments have much more of an impact. Like in Tales Of Leo in 2k3, when he was the only one to cry when he told his story; or in both Bayverse and MM when he confessed his love for his brothers when he thought they were all going to die; or how well he got along with little Yoshi in TMNT 3; or when, in the 2007 movie, he told Splinter about Leo getting taken; or in Batman Vs. TMNT when he lectured Batman about the importance of family. But one of the most heart-wrenching moments had to be in Same As It Never Was when he was dying and used his last ounces of strength to crawl to Leo's side.

And as I said, I love it when his other interests are put on display. Like when he is shown knitting and carving in Bayverse, or working on his bike in 2k3, or playing video games with the guys in whatever iteration. In the future world of the TMNT Archie run, he is shown to be married and runs a restaurant where he is the chef. And though it is not an interest, knowing that he is afraid of insects makes him seem more down-to-earth and less of just the tough turtle.

Some of his "traits", I must admit, are simply headcanons to me. Because of his protective nature, I like to think of him as a gifted medic (albeit one whose bedside manner could use some working on), whose medical knowledge is second only to Don's. Also, I picture him being able to speak Spanish, which he learned by hanging out with people in the Bronx (also where he picked up his distinct-in-the-family accent). Both of those things, again, I wrote into "Something Wicked", which even has a whole chapter about Raph called "The Protector".

So, yeah, I think Raph is awesome! I just wish we could see more of it onscreen, you know? I am really looking forward to how Tales Of The TMNT utilizes him!

It's gotta be 'Batman vs. The teenage mutant ninja turtles'

The movie was such a fun crossover, the animation was great. And I love the version of Robin they used(Damian is a sweetie)

I have enjoyed all the tmnt movies I've seen. But I think this one sits at the top, it's a hard battle tho. The bayverse ones were really good; 2007 one was fun; the 90s(80s? Idk) ones were very classic; turtles forever was an excellent addition to the 03 series. Mutant Mayhem was a little weird but cute(those four are going to blow something important up, just wait) haven't seen the rise movie but with all the spoilers I know, I already know that I'm gonna love it.

This is kinda a spoiler for something in the next part of my Fic, Spring Stars. Regardless, I love drawing these two just being cutesy together. Especially when they both get all blushy and Shy while interacting!

2007 Sashatello: Proposition

07 Sasha is a bit blunt with her way of thinking, and especially when she wants something. So when asking if Donnie would “Be her mate.”, it was quite a lot for the turtle to take in all at once. He was down, of course, but it didn’t erase the intense embarrassment he felt from her wording.

IDW Sashatello: You’re so cute

Get you a lady that looks at you the way Sasha does Donnie. To her, he is the cutest thing she’s ever encountered. and this is coming from a God! Someone who has met many souls, seen countless lovers, and traveled the world many times over! So…who is Donnie to argue with her when she calls him Cute?

2012 Sashatello: Be My Valentine

Ah yes, these two. Honestly, a romance between these two is so hard to write, it’s painful! But, I’ll keep trying damn it! 2012 Sasha is just so smitten with this moron that it’s almost a meme in my head at this point that canonically, I don’t see them becoming an item until the Mutagen Bomb ending where Donnie becomes a robot! (I’ll draw that one day…) For now, I’ll just keep trying till it makes sense to me!

Bayverse Sashatello: Hold Me

You know, if it weren’t for how detailed their designs are, I’d draw them way more than I do now. I mean, LOOK AT THEM! Cute af, and the part of me that has a size kink can’t help but drool at just how TALL Bayverse Donnie is! I really need to do more art of these two, but for now, here we are! And I’m not complaining.

Batman VS TMNT Sashatello: Kiss Me, Sugershell

Not gunna lie to you folks on this one, I was very tame compared to what I originally wanted to draw for them. But I still thought that what I came up with was still pretty hot! The whole Bad girl & Good boy dynamic they have is just….so DAMN good! I love it! (And I adore the Pet Name Sasha calls Donnie in this version so much!) I can’t wait to draw more of them together. I have a rather cute/humorous idea in the works for them in the future.

Mutant Mayhem Sashatello: Young Love

Ah, young love! MM Donnie has got that Rizz going, but I could still see him sweating a bit when talking about having a crush on Sasha. (Especially since he was a fan of her’s to begin with before they met!) And MM Sasha is a shy mess to begin with, but would try her hardest to toughen up, if it meant she could somehow impress Donnie. I could see them making gifts for one another on Valentine’s Day, becoming two blushing messes trying to come up with things to say.

Especially when it ended with this 🚨SPOILERS AHEAD🚨

A jokerised Shredder!! It would have been awesome. Also the TMNT casting was brilliant, especially Kyle Mooney as Michelangelo.

Frankie: Ghouls! I just got this TMNT movie boxset, and I'm so happy about it! Okay, so it has the first original three 90s movies, the 2007 movie and the TMNT vs Batman movie! I was thinking about getting the Next Mutation boxset too but I decided to wait because The Next Mutation is really hard to watch. Actually speaking of The Next Mutation! In IDW TMNT *spoilers*

I was told I can hyperfixate and rant about my hyperfixation so uh… just like Donnie sometimes I collect data but it’s usually the most stupidest or the most random data points I can recall. For this example, I randomly thought about how most Donnies in every incarnation has terrible luck with the amount of angst they have from shows and movies they’re from. All the turtle boys have gone through so much suffering, but I want to get this out of my head. This purple clad turtle can fit a lot of trauma :,)

WARNING THERE WILL BE SPOILERS FOR 2003, 2012, Rise, a bit of 2019, I don’t really need to mention IDW (which I haven’t read yet but know of) and The Last Ronin (which I also haven’t read yet but know of). SO BE WARY.

I sadly can’t include 1987 yet due to not watching it completely yet (currently on the 90’s movies and going backwards). I may not include EVERYTHING cause I don’t memorize everything entirely sometimes and I’m not doing research for this post because this is just a messy rant. Anyways yes, the pain and suffering for the purple clad turtle- Donatello Hamato/Splinterson.

2003 Donatello - Has gone through double mutation, almost had his brain fried by the Triceratons, ahem episode Same As It Never Was, has witnessed like the other bros the beaten up forms of his bros on multiple occasions, the “death” of Master Splinter

2012 Donatello - Almost got his brain fried too by Karai by electrocution (I wonder if they got inspired by 2003 over there), literally DIED at one point but came back, almost got vivisected by a hateful gang who hated mutants, has gotten beaten up many times, became a murderous car, in an alternate future(?) he lost his body and became a robot that helped Raph survive the post-apocalyptic world, and the death of a family member :,)

2018-2020 (Rise) - Rip proper validation, got his battle shell shredded, allowed the takeover of kraang tentacles to become a spaceship on his exposed shell, almost lost two of his brothers, all his tech failed against Shredder and that included losing Shelldon practically his son, and could be more BECAUSE WE DON’T have season 3 D:

2019 (Batman vs. TMNT) - got his completely arm broken if I recall correctly (it’s worse than you think when you watch it xd)

But the pain of Donnie is strong in these incarnations bro like - they all need therapy. Due to these spoilers, Idk how to work spoilers if there is any way to spoil text but to play it safe I won’t add any tags here as this is just a random rant of mine. Favorite TMNT show?

Probably the 2003 reboot that 4Kids did.

The original 80's/90's show is just too cheesy for me nowadays. I loved it deeply as a kid, but I must have spent too long away from it, because going back with adult eyes and I could not stand it for very long. It really is mostly a 30 minute toy commercial that they hang some absolutely awful cheesy jokes on top of.

I started watching the CGI show when it premiered, but that first season very quickly fell in to a routine of "the turtles screw up and create a new mutant by accident, and then beat up that mutant when it tries to get revenge on them." Which is a pretty messed up viewpoint, to be honest. I hear it gets a little less monster-of-the-week in later seasons, and I've caught some of it on PlutoTV's 24/7 TMNT channel, but it rests firmly in the realm of "just okay."

Haven't seen a lick of Rise, outside of the absolutely insane fight clips that were being passed around on twitter a few years ago. Good lord, what a beautiful show. I naturally had a knee-jerk shock reaction to them shaking up the dynamic (making Raph the leader, making all the turtles so visually distinct, etc.), but I don't think I'd hate it if I actually sat down and saw it. But I don't have cable anymore, I can't afford any streaming services anymore, and even when I did I just didn't feel like I had the time.

But the 2003 reboot, wow. I am always thinking about the season 1 finale, when the turtles assault Shredder's dojo. It's the last showdown; Leo has Shredder's tengu sword, and Shredder has Leo's katanas. They both rush each other and deliver a decisive blow in an iconic shot.

That type of shot. The ninja-vs-ninja shot.

And what happens after they clash... in context, being there in 2003, watching this at 8am on a Saturday morning, from a production studio known for some of the tightest, most bizarre censorship rules...

And then you see that (spoiler link) happen. And it's this total moment of "THEY GOT AWAY WITH THAT?? THE CENSORS LET THEM JUST DO IT???" And they kind of linger on it! Like they're saying "yeah, we got away with it!"

I was reeling. And they marinate in it for as long as they can before setting up how things can continue after that. And instead of it feeling like a copout or whatever, it made me go "Ohhhhh crap."

Absolutely perfect.

Until Al Khan pissed off Peter Laird and he severed his ties with the show. It didn't take long for it to go down the toilet after that. But before then? I'd put the first three or four seasons of TMNT 2003 close to, like, Batman TAS and Spectacular Spider-man for some of my favorite types of comic-to-cartoon shows. They pushed so many boundaries on TMNT 2K3 for something in the Saturday Morning time slot, it's crazy.

And even if the show itself ended on a whimper, Turtles Forever was WAY ahead of its time and basically set the standard for that type of "modern incarnations meet the classic cast" crossover that was (and still kind of are) so common.

Unforgettable.

Just watched Chip 'n Dale movie and gotta say: It's not what I expected because I actually liked.

I couldn't stop laughing at it. Not because it has good comedy, but because of all the Easter eggs and references they poured in it, and I loved every single one

Everyone keeps talking about Ugly Sonic and okay that's big and he's actually a lot in this movie but they put and mentioned who knows how many other franchises that almost leaves in shame "Who framed Roger Rabbit?": (Spoilers ahead!)

Nickelodeon Jr studios lore: Peppa Pig was kidnapped and the Paw Patrol bite off some cop’s "intimate parts"
