Dear fanfic readers,
While long and detailed reviews are always awesome, just remember that any variation of the above will still make a writer grin, giggle, or blush for hours :)
(And tons of thanks to the readers that left these particular comments on my stuff! I love you all so much!)

Yes! This! All this! This is one of the reasons that the Archie series is my favorite comic version of the Turtles!
I have recently been getting back into TMNT lately and whilst I haven’t caught up with all of the iterations yet, one consistency that I have noticed that keeps fucking me up is that every storyline that depicts the future for the brothers - Donnie always dies.
The Last Ronin comics are a given, considering it’s focused on Mikey’s grief with the death of his whole family - not just Donnie. But this consistency also exists in both RotTMNT and the 2003 iteration.
RotTMNT’s film depicts only Leo and Mikey as the only surviving members of the original family unit - not long before they both pass as well.
Whilst I am not familiar with the 2003 series (plus I don’t want to spoil myself too much), I understand that while Donnie didn’t died in “Same as it Never Was” - the people around still grieve his absence. Him being sent to the future directly caused not only the events of that episode to take place, but the erasure of a future Donnie to begin with; thus leading his brother to believe he died (again, that’s what I am pretty sure is going on).
The only exception to this rule was the 2012 series, and even that is loosely stated. Donnie is the only one to die due to the mutagen bomb. The only reason he was able to survive was due to his mind being connected to Metalhead and even then, he is still technically dead. The Donnie that we watched throughout the series and Donbot are not the same people. Donbot is just Metalhead with a dead teenager’s consciousness uploaded into it.
His survival was due to a lucky alignment of circumstances and despite it, he doesn’t even get to live.

Mike: Guess who just found out the difference between wax paper and parchment paper the hard way?
Leo: Wait, what's the difference?
Mike: One you can use in the oven safely, and the other you can also use in the oven... if the thing you are trying to make happens to be fire.

Hamato Yoshi goes to his sons room to tell him the 3rd part of the Turtles adventure.
Yoshi has been rediscovering his human body. He has a premonition the Turtles are in trouble.
Leo holds Mikey, now a normal Turtle. Raph knocks out Psonic, as TKO floats the Talisman towards her. Yoshi subdues her. Leo shows Mikey to him. He concludes the only way to restore him is to use the combined Talisman during the celestial alignment. Don takes Psonics teleportation device & says he can hack into it, to send them to Shredders HQ.
At the Kyrran desert, Shredder has slaughtered both armies. Cyberius says the Turtles are trying to hack into the teleporter. As they have the 3rd Talisman, Shredder allows it.
The Turtles & Yoshi teleport in & Shredder attacks. Mikey is sent flying in the chaos, into Cyberius’s pizza. With his power Shredder is unstoppable & is about to kill Yoshi, when he realises he’s wearing the 3rd Talisman, nearly destroying it. Shredder unites it with the others to become invincible.
The celestial alignment begins, beaming down green energy to the ground, incidentally on a slice of tossed pizza. Shredder approaches, ignorant to Mikey waddling into the pillar of light. He slips on Mikey, dropping the Talisman onto the Turtles back. The ultimate power is now with Mikey, who uses it to turn the pizza slice into a full one. The alignment ends & the Talisman starts to depower.
Shredders mind breaks down, the loss of power reducing him to a gibbering state. Don stops Cyberius escaping. Yoshi collects the Talisman & tells the others they must all put a hand over it & hold it above Mikey, channeling their willpower they can use it’s remaining energy to turn Mikey back to a mutant. It starts to glow.
Back in the bedroom, the son asks Yoshi if they were able to restore Mikey. Yoshi tells his son he was Mikey all along. Back to full size, but childlike.
He says goodnight & joins the others & April. He tells them Mikey mind is returning, just as his bodies starting to turn back into Splinter’s.
