Ghost blobs lead someone to Danny
(There is a part 2 now)
Batman froze at the floating blob, nearly the same color of lauzus waters and glowed even brighter. It seemed to notice him and ziped over to him at an alarming speed. Batman tensed ready to strike. But the thing just hovered in front of him and humming? It sounded desperate and worried, despite sound completely inhuman. His lack of response on seemed to increase the noise it made now make odd movements in one direction.
Before he could blink suddenly he was swarmed with the things. Some started pushing at his back and face. Others grabbed at his cape and tried tugging him forward. All of them humming the same desperate tune. Against his better judgement, a feeling in his chest told him to follow. "Alright" He whispered to the odd blobs. "Lead the way." Several bolted away as he chased behind them. A few stayed with him flying next to him or tucked into his cape.
He followed them over buildings until they reached a warehouse district. He was lead to an area designated for demolition. Finally the blobs float to the ground stoping at a warehouse with a door left ajar.
When Batman pushed the doors open he saw nothing, he stood still for a moment. He nearly thought it was a trap. Before the familiar gentle push urged him on. The ones leading him before flew behind a pile of trash and just barely he could see a faint glow behind it.
When Batman walked behind the trash pile, he froze. A dozen more blobs were there all crowding around a dimly glowing child. The white haired child was curled up and seemed to be bleeding lauzrus green. Batman rushed over and grabbed the child's wrist to feel for a pulse. His heart lurched when he found one, and it lurched again when the boy moved. He whimpered and weakly tried pulling away.
He sprang into action and pulled the boy to himself. He grabbed his bandages and gently uncurled the boy to see his wounds. He froze again at the Y-shaped cut on his chest and the countless other cuts left on him. "Please- please stop." Batman snapped back to when the boy spoke. "It's alright, you're safe now." He said softly, he wrapped the boy up as best he could. "What's your name?" He asked as he gently picked the boy up.
The boy was humming like the blobs he realized, it was far weaker like a buzzing in his hands. "Danny" The boy replied, Batman nearly didn't hear him. "I'll keep you safe Danny, I promise." At that Danny seemed to relax and melt into him. Batman called the Batmobile.
The blobs followed them outside a few seemed to fly away before coming back. Like they were patrolling the area. Others were comforting Danny, rubbing up against him or humming a different sound possibly to reassure him. "What are they?" Batman asks, hoping to get some information before the boy could pass out. "Blob ghosts." He muttered.
"Ghosts?"
"It's what I am, but I'm really bad at it" Danny mumbled the last part to himself but Batman caught it. A ghost entity? It would explain the lack of a pulse and even the wounds. A ghost haunted with his own autoposy scars. Before he could ask more the bat mobile stopped in front of them.
Batman hopped inside and gently place Danny in the passenger seat, buckling him in. The blob ghosts followed tucking into the back in a quick flurry. And like that Batman set off. He called Alfred. "Alfred, prepare the medbay. I have a severely injured unknown."
"Right away"
Batman barely managed to keep the boy awake all the way to the Batcave. Batman tries to ignore Alfred's shocked face as he sees Danny and the swarm of blob ghosts that follow them. "You didn't say they were this unknown."
"Danny says that they are 'blob ghosts' and claims he is a ghost as well. But that he is bad at it some how." Batman explained as they rushed to the medbay. When Batman set the boy down a white ring of light appeared around the boy it split and passed over him. They were left with a very human looking boy who was now bleeding red, mixing in with the green.
He and Alfred shared a look of shock. Before having to push the feeling away to help the boy.

You know what? I just had A Thought(tm)~☆
Danny. Our bby boy. MINDING HIS BUSINESS. Maybe visiting one of his buddies in the Realms after he graduates. When he just?? Get full on tackled from the sky.
And like?
Huh.
THIS hasn't happened in a bit. Not since he's become king. Legit, no one dares. He's honestly kinda missed it. Alright, square up... Mr. Uuuuuh.... Who are you?
And it's this barely formed New Ghost. Still in that glitch-y goopy blob phase and everything. Is Baby. Why... why does this infant Want To Fight God? I mean. He Respects It(tm), no lie, but? Not exactly usual for him?
And it turns out? This dude is some rando hero. He basicly JUST died. By all rights SHOULD be resting and gathering his strength to Form Right. But he's so worried for his team mates and everyone else he CAN'T. Recognized a fellow Hero's Costume even at a distance.
Please. PLEASE! You have to help him! We have to WARN everybody!
And Danny is just? Oh no. This Actual Infant Baby is gonna Anxiety himself to Actual Second Death at this rate. Yes! Sure! Just CALM DOWN! Anything you need buddy! BREATHE.
And this dude? Who died? Is legit a minor player who got WAY too deep but refused to abandoned People In Need(tm). It happens. It HURTS. But he saved a LOT of lives before he went down. Him and his team were just some Minor Heros from Belarus. How they ended up in deep space? Even THEY couldn't tell you.
They couldn't even bring him home.
He forgives them.
He could NEVER blame his friends. Not for this. The planet is in danger. Some... some THING. An invasion. The League has to be made aware. He DIED helping a planet try to evacuate all that they could. He... at least he...
He can't remember if the Eggs got out. They... they're like babies. A whole room full of toddlers who couldn't run. They had to de-connect from the main building to lift it out. He can't... can't...
He saved them... right? Held on.. long enough? Why can't he.. he...
Danny has to make him focus be for the kid spirals. Don't think of your last moments. Purpose. You NEED to do something right now, right?
Right! The League! We gotta warn them! And... okay. Danny can totally do that. (What LEAGUE??!) He DEFINITELY knows who you are talking about and will tell them Right Away. YOU however are gonna rest up.
So he leaves the kiddo with Lunch Lady. Mother and Frightening Matriarch Extraordinaire. Lunch Box promises to SIT on him if he tries to sneak off. Good kid. Now eat your soup before you BECOME soup.
Time to bully the eyeballs. Whoms't the F*ck is this "league"? And where does he find it? Talk. He has sand and he's not afraid to use it. Don't MAKE him get out the pepper grinder! Yeah. That's what he THOUGHT.
After much, prolonged and unnecessary, whining and dramatic threatening... he gets a printed out map. Cheapskates even used flimsy paper. He gets there. Jaunt is even kinda nice. He says hi to a few folks he hasn't seen in a while.
Opens a portal.
Steps out.
Gets punched in the face. RUDE! He punches the flying blue man back. Dents their wall. Not even a LITTLE sorry about that now! See if HE does you a favor aga-... is that his Ex? John?
John! Constantine you B@STARD. YOU OWE ME 20 BUCKS. *Ten different hands slap a twenty on the table at his feet, including Constantine. Who is refusing to look at anybody.* Well, okay then. Debt payed. Gonna buy himself a shake or something, after this.
ANYWAY~ Good News Or Bad News?
He is met with silence. It's like they've never seen an ethereal, giant, glowing man with a suit that looks like a cut out of the night sky, step out of an eye searing rip in reality before. Man they're lives must be boring. But frankly? Danny can wait. It's not HIS reality that's gonna get messed up. He can take care of it if the wanna be Wah Babies. Good News or Bad News??? Pick one.
He sits back in the air and waits.

To be Human a Third Time
"See you tomorrow for a movie marathon?" A girl with black hair and purple eyes asks. She was wearing a black tank top with purple markings, a black skirt with green accents, and under it, there were purple leggings and using a pair of black combat boots.
"Sure thing Sam!" A boy with black hair and ice-blue eyes responds. The teen wore a white hoodie with black details, ripped black jeans, and dark blue converses.
"Bye then, Danny!"
Walking inside his home, he noticed one thing.
The house was dark and quiet...
Too quiet.
Danny didn't have time to turn around before his head hit the floor, and everything went black.
Danny woke up to the sounds of his parents' muffled desperate cries, seeing his parents tied into chairs while he was on the ground with his hands tied, close to something that felt wrong.
Extremely wrong...
Looking behind him, he found what was messing with his ghost senses.
A Lazarus Pit...
But this one felt wrong... corrupted... or tainted.
This particular pit was reduced to something lesser than a blob ghost.
Danny still remembers his lessons with clockwork. The master of time told him how Pariah Dark had, in his reign, created sentient pools of ectoplasm to better feed the habitants of the Infinite Realms, and while those pits still did their jobs to feed ghosts, they weren't used like in the past.
But something must have happened when they lost control of those pits, and CW could not see what happened but knew a human interfered with them and now had control of the Lazarus Pit.
He needed to get away!
Whatever happened to the ectoplasm, he knew it was...
Danny had to stop to dwell on his thoughts when a man came out of the shadows of the dark room, which only the ectoplasm to light the room, giving it an eery vibe.
"I will offer one more time, help me with my... project, and I will not introduce your son to my ranks..." The mysterious man said to his parents, who were looking in fear at the man while trying to look brave.
Danny's parents started to scream, desperation very clear in their voices. The teen couldn't clearly hear what they were saying but knew the man wanted something if he kidnapped his parents and used Danny as a bargain.
The man seemed to have lost his patience as he grabbed Danny by the neck and dumped him in the pit.
The moment he touched the tainted ectoplasm, he felt immense pain he never imagined was possible. The tainted ectoplasm was invading his core, messing with his body and ghost-half.
He could faintly hear his parents scream before he blacked out.
___________________
He didn't have a name.
As master told him so.
He was a weapon, a tool to his master.
He killed, sabotaged, pleased his master, and was everything his master needed him to be.
So... why did the other weapon insist he was a human being with rights?
It began when Onryo had to nurse someone back to health, and the new weapon thought it was human and wanted to go after his murderer and old owner.
All for revenge.
Onryo did not understand, especially when Red Hood called him Danny or Phantom.
It made no sense, but there was something about the name Phantom that reached something inside of him. It made him warm... complete.
Like... he should remember, know why the name was his.
________________
They were running from the league.
Well... not exactly them, but Red Hood decided to kidnap Onryo and take it with him.
Now they were on the run.
They had reached Gotham some weeks ago, and now Red Hood, who insisted Onryo call him Jason, was hunting down the Joker while Onryo was ordered to find a school and blend with the population.
It didn't make sense.
Jason gave him some identification papers so he could apply to university. They said he was Danyal Phantom, a student who finished high school with high scores and aspiring to become an astronaut and work at NASA.
Should I continue this on ao3?

Is it terrible that I want to see more of toxic husband ghost?? 🙈🙈🙈 Not divorced, but maybe just watching his wife with their kids, or coming home to a warm meal, or seeing her in the bath relaxing and realizing he has a nice life, he just hasn't let himself be open to it 🙈🙈🙈🙈
tw: vague but brief mentions of miscarriage absolutely no judgment anon we all like what we like! i will give you a taste of simon and reader before things went to shit hehe ☻ this turned out way sadder than i planned i'm so sorry omg i just cant help it, it's what i do best.
you couldn't believe what you were seeing, tears welled in your eyes as you scanned over the pregnancy tests lined up on your bathroom counter. pregnant. two stark lines visible on each one. you momentarily considered keeping the news to yourself, but you just couldn't wait to tell your husband. you yell out for him from your spot in the bathroom, too in shock to leave; as if they'll suddenly disappear if you glance away from them even for just a moment. the thundering sound of your husband rushing up the stairs into your bedroom breaks you from your reverie, and when he finds you in the bathroom all you do is turn to him and smile widely.
simon steps slowly towards you, his eyes flitting rapidly between your face and the tests on the counter. "baby..." like a dam breaking, tears stream down your face as simon pulls you into his arms. "is this real, like really real this time?" the older man's question pricks at the bubble of joy in your chest. you’re sure he meant no harm with his question, but you're brought back into your reality. you two couldn't get your hopes up again, at least not too much.
"it's real si, i swear. am i stupid for being so happy? i know i should wait until we go to the doctor and have foolproof confirmation, but-"
your husband trails a hand to your jaw and tips your head so you're looking up at him. "you're not stupid for being happy, 'specially not over this. after all the heartbreak we've experienced, we deserve a little happiness."you know he's right, but you're not sure if you can handle waking up in the middle of the night writhing in pain, only to come back home with a piece of you missing. the calloused pad of simon's finger smooths over the wrinkle between your eyebrows.
"whatever happens, we'll survive it because we have each other.
~
"i cant believe this little blob is our baby," you laugh out with a shine of tears in your eyes. the two of you are walking back to the car after your first ultrasound appointment and it feels like everything is falling beautifully in place. you let out an embarrassingly loud squeal as simon picks you up and spins you around gleefully. when he finally puts you down, he pulls you into his chest and nuzzles his head into your hair.
"i can't believe i get to have this life with you, baby. i am an irredeemable man and probably don't deserve you or our baby, but i promise i'll do everything to prove that i do."
looking back on that fateful day, you understand why they say to believe a man when he says he doesn't deserve you because they will always prove that they don't.

DP x DC
not me thinking about imaginary scenarios of ten year old Tim Drake in the ghost zone (pariah’s castle)
where Tim thinks it’s strangely soothing that despite being the only one whose steps connect to the ground, there’s not that eerie silence that befell drake manor
strange blob creatures chitter softly and nip at his hair and swooshes and wisps of wind betray the presence of an invisible ghost
which after following he realizes it’s almost like he’s trailing after the black dark shadow that is batman again
which gives him the idea that, maybe, just this one time, he can play the part of robin
that in mind Tim makes out a game of sneaking to the side of ghosts that look like they’re brooding and if they can spot him he loses
most just grunt in response (very in character) while others fuss over him and ask questions which Tim uses to infodump
he also politely asks the ghost that always asks him how he’s doing to instead say the word “report”
(the ghost looks at him weirdly but humors him and besides the answer would be the same anyways)
Tim also(!!)
gets on the case of why the walls lack tangibility when he is the one leaning on them (he doesn’t live down the time he wanted to look cool only to fall through the wall)
hyperfixates on how gravity works in the ghost zone because he couldn’t do a skateboard trick he has pulled off many many times and he’s salty about it
tries to figure out where they are getting human food from (cause it’s hot enough to be homemade but also there’s no kitchen —so how could it be) (also he wants coffee)
finds out the dude that often gives him a side eye when he finds that Tim knows how to do something (math homework), is next in line for the throne and yet doesn’t have a single “mingle and talk people up” bone in his body. (despite it his networking is a solid 7/10)
gets a ghost horse to adopt him what
discovers pretty quickly that there are rooms to which he can’t phase through (a.k.a. he’s not allowed entry) to which he begrudgingly backs off even though that stands in his way of doing a very thorough layout™ of the place (robin would)
sulks over the lack of extreme sports in the place
(Danny takes him to the Far Frozen where they go tire sliding in the snow and where tim learns how to use a skateboard skate and also that ghost ice cream is just as good as normal ice cream)
sulks again cuz he caught a common cold
also because there’s no sun or moon poor Timmy’s already screwed sleep schedule gets more messed up to the point no one knows when or where he will fall asleep
(ghosts find him in the most unhinged of places with a signature purple cloak draped over him every. single. time.)
overall, be a menace
see-> the time he threatened to build ghost weapons he’d somehow memorized the blueprints of cause Danny wouldn’t let him visit the radium girls factory but yes the renaissance period
see-> that time he went through the whole ghost energy and how to work with it book section in the library and half an hour later had a prototype of a star wars laser beam made
(note: bribing only works for hot chocolate, not for letting him keep cool-looking guns)
just tim having the time of his life
clockwork being no help at all (the ghost loves being a cryptid)
and danny trying not to get attached while he progressively gets more concerned over this chaos child he emotionally adopted as his little brother
(to fit canon cause i want it to this would just be until Danny finds the dimension little Timmy is from, then they can safely yeet the child back to the moment he first went missing)
anyways before anyone knows it’s been three months

Forgotten Demon Twin 2/?
Prev | Next
Danny came back early from his patrol. There had been no ghost attacks. All he had found were ghost blobs, and he let them be. They were harmless. He got under his covers, glad that the next day was Sunday. He hoped he would be able to sleep late.
Danny was starting to fall asleep when he heard his phone ring. He groaned. He just wanted to sleep. He looked at his phone and immediately called Tucker.
“What do you mean someone is looking into me?” He asked without preamble.
“I don’t know what to tell you, dude. About six hours ago, I got an alert of someone looking into Amity Park. No biggie, sometimes people get curious. The firewall the GIW and me and Technus have set has kept them out so far. Then, a few hours later, I found out someone was trying to find out about you.”
“I’ve been able to keep them out, but just barely. Whoever they are, they’re good at hacking. Technus and I are having a hard time keeping them away from your information. I’ve had to direct them to your Doom and old Twitter account to get them off your scent, but I don’t know how long that’ll last.”
Okay, okay. This wasn’t the time to panic. It was probably the League (in which case he was [fully] dead anyway). He had to find a way to keep his family and friends safe, hide the portal from his fruit loop of a grandfather and mother, and keep his secret of being half-dead—no big deal.
“Danny, Danny, you still there?”
“Yeah, I’m still here. Listen, I want you to stop interfering with the hacking. I don’t want you or any of my loved ones in danger if it's who I think it is. I haven’t told you guys the whole truth, and if I make it out alive, I will. Until then, don’t contact me.”
“Danny, wait! What’s going—”
Danny hung up before Tucker could finish asking the question.
His phone immediately started lighting up. He turned it off. Danny moved his bed and pulled the wakizashi hidden under his floorboard; some ninja throwing stars, needles, and poison.
Danny stared at his weapons and knew he was screwed.
He could never measure up to the assassins in the League, let alone his family. He had no doubt the Al Ghuls had learned Danny had lied to them and was here to kill him and his family.
Ra’s Al Ghul did not believe in leaving loose ends.
Maybe Danny could convince his grandfather to leave the Fentons alone if he gave them all his information and let Ra’s kill Danny.
No, Danny would have to win against Ra’s. He couldn’t let the older man win; Danny knew his family would never survive if Danny died.
He didn’t know if he’d come back as a full ghost if he got killed (could he even die?), and he wasn’t willing to find out.
Besides, he no longer was the Al Ghul’s failure. He was Danny Phantom. Hero of Amity Park and the Ghost Zone. Crowned Prince of the Infinite Realms. He would win.
Danny heard a tap on his window and was met with two piercing green eyes.
They were here.
____
Once they entered Amity Park, whatever firewall kept them out went out. Suddenly, they could see everything that was happening in the small city. It disturbed Bruce.
Mentions of ‘ghosts’ attacking the town. A weatherman who predicted and announced the presence of ghosts and the Fentons on the road. The city being sucked into an alternate dimension (without the Justice League ever hearing about it), and a dead teenager taking care of the city. And the mention of a portal into the Land of the Dead, courtesy of the Fentons.
“Danyal never mentioned this portal,” Damian muttered as he looked through old letters he had.
The plane landed at 2:25 in the morning at Amity Park Airport.
It wasn’t hard to find the Fenton’s address once they were in Amity Park. Their address, phone number, and business number were public records in the small city.
The family made a plan.
They decided they would send Damian first. A (kind of) familiar face could help draw Danyal, Danny, out.
(God, it sounded like he was trying to lure out a wild animal. Though, if Danny were anything like his brother, that description wouldn’t be too far off the mark…)
“Remember, Damian, don’t engage if Danny starts attacking. It’s just talking. If he attacks you leave, and we find a different way to communicate.”
“Yes, father,” Damian said through gritted teeth. That was the fifth time his father had said the same thing. He wasn’t an imbecile.
Please, his thoughts intruded; not even an imbecile would forget they had a twin brother.
Shut up, he answered back.
Damian put on his dark clothes (not his league outfit; he threw that away a long time ago.) and the wire so his family could hear what was happening before leaving.
It wasn’t hard to find the Fenton’s house. The giant light arrow spelling out Fenton’s Work toward a house, and the big, he didn’t even know what was on top of the house, gave it away. These people weren’t subtle at all.
Damian climbed the windows. In one, there was a couple. The behemoth of a man was snoring so loudly it shook the whole room. A red-haired teenage girl slept in the next window while holding an old teddy bear. He went to the next one and froze.
For the first time in almost a decade, Damian saw his twin once more.
His back was turned to the window, but Damian saw a wakizashi in his hand. Ah, Danyal probably suspected someone was coming and thought it would be a member of the League.
Well, it was time to put his brother at ease.
Damian tapped on the window and saw blue eyes suddenly looking at him.
The two twins stared at each other for a long time. Then, Danyal adverted his gaze and went to the window. He kept the small sword in his hand.
He opened the window and let Damian in.
“Heir to the Demon’s Head, what a pleasure to be acknowledged and visited by you. To what does this Spare owe the honor?”
Once upon a time, Danyal’s subservience sent a thrill of pleasure down Damian’s spine. Now, it reminded him how far apart he had been kept from his twin. A horrid feeling twisted in his stomach and caused him physical pain.
His brother should never have been treated the way he had been by their grandfather and mother.
Damian should have never treated his brother that way.
“Danyal,” Damian said softly; his brother stiffened, “It’s okay. We are no longer loyal to the League. We are free.”
Danny didn’t dare look up. Was this a test? Was his twin testing his loyalty?
Danny’s heart rate picked up as Damian touched Danny’s shoulder.
“Brother,” Danny felt incredulous; the Heir never acknowledged the Spare as ‘brother,’ “Brother, grandfather is dead. We are free.”
Danny kept his gaze adverted. He couldn’t bring himself to hope that he was free.
Damian let his hand drop to his side.
“You don’t believe me.”
Danyal kept quiet.
Damian took a deep breath, “I have proof. He was killed in public. I brought the newspaper article.”
Damian took out the newspaper clipping and gave it to Danyal. His brother took it with shaking hands.
Danny’s breath caught as he read the title.
Ra’s Al Ghul was…dead. Danny was free! Would his brother let him stay in Amity Park? He was the heir, so he undoubtedly had taken over. Maybe if he pled his case to Damian and promised loyalty, he would let him stay with the Fentons.
Besides, Danny was the weak link of the Al Ghul line. He wasn’t a threat. Maybe Damian would grant him his wish.
Damian felt his heart twist as his twin got down on one knee, bowing his head.
“Demon’s Head, I ask you to let me stay in Amity Park. I’ll send weekly or even daily reports. Please, don’t kill the Fentons. My weakness has made me feel attached to them. If you don’t want me to stay here, please at least grant me the request of sparing their lives.”
Damian’s sadness suddenly turned to anger.
Hadn’t Danyal listened to a word he had said? They were free; they were no longer bound to the League.
“No, Danyal. The League no longer exists,” he spat out.
Danny flinched at his twin’s anger. His hold tightened on his sword.
“Bring it back a bit, baby bat,” Richard said through the comms.
Danny didn’t give any outward appearance that he heard another man’s voice calling Damian…Baby Bat?
What the fuck?
“I apologize, Danyal. My temper still gets the best of me sometimes.”
Danny couldn’t believe his ears. Damian, the Prince of the League, Heir to the Demon’s Throne, was apologizing…to Danny.
“Danyal, I left the League six years ago. I’ve been with our father.”
Father. The Batman. If what Damian was saying was true…
“Father and the rest of our siblings would like to meet you. They’re here in the city.”
…He could be free. All he had to do was convince Batman he was fine and to let him stay in Amity Park. Danny wouldn’t say anything about being Phantom, so Batman wouldn’t find any excuse to make him leave his little city.
Besides, how hard could it be to lie to the greatest detective in the world?
Danny got up, dusted his pants, and asked, “When do we leave?”

✨Elriel moments: love languages edition✨
Acts of service:
He set her down gently on the foyer carpet, having carried her in through the front door. Elain peered up at his patient, solemn face. Azriel smiled faintly. “Would you like me to show you the garden?” She seemed so small before him, so fragile compared to the scales of his fighting leathers, the breadth of his shoulders. The wings peeking over them. But Elain did not balk from him, did not shy away as she nodded—just once.
“Can I set you up in the garden? The herbs you planted are coming in nicely.” “I can help her,” said Azriel, stepping to the table as Elain silently rose. No shadows at his ear, no darkness ringing his fingers as he extended a hand. Nesta monitored him like a hawk, but kept silent as Elain took his hand, and out they went.”
But I strode to my seat—nestled between Amren and Mor—in time to see Elain say to Azriel, “Hello.” Az said nothing. No, he just moved toward her. Mor tensed beside me. But Azriel only took Elain’s heavy dish of potatoes from her hands, his voice soft as night as he said, “Sit. I’ll take care of it.” Elain’s hands remained in midair, as if the ghost of the dish remained between them.
Words of Affirmation:
Elain said to Azriel, perhaps the only two civilized ones here, “Can you truly fly?” He set down his fork, blinking. I might have even called him self-conscious. He said, “Yes. Cassian and I hail from a race of faeries called Illyrians. We’re born hearing the song of the wind.” “That’s very beautiful,” she said.
Azriel, graceful as any courtier, offered her an arm. I couldn’t tell if she was looking at his blue Siphon or at his scarred skin beneath as she breathed, “Beautiful.” Color bloomed high on Azriel’s golden-brown cheeks, but he inclined his head in thanks and led my sister toward the back doors into the garden, sunlight bathing them.”
Elain’s eyes widened at the obsidian-hilted blade in Azriel’s scarred hand. The runes on the dark scabbard. “It has never failed me once,” the shadowsinger said, the midday sun devoured by the dark blade. “Some people say it is magic and will always strike true.” He gently took her hand and pressed the hilt of the legendary blade into it. “It will serve you well.”
Quality Time:
“Elain sat silently at one of the wrought-iron tables, a cup of tea before her. Azriel was sprawled on the chaise longue across the gray stones, sunning his wings and reading what looked to be a stack of reports—likely information on the Autumn Court that he planned to present to Rhys once he’d sorted through it all. Already dressed for the Hewn City—the brutal, beautiful armor so at odds with the lovely garden. And my sister sitting within it.”
Azriel and Elain remained in the sitting room, my sister showing him the plans she’d sketched to expand the garden in the back of the town house, using the seeds and tools my family had given her tonight. Whether he cared about such things, I had no idea
Gift Giving:
“Az, this one’s for you.” The shadowsinger’s brows lifted, but his scarred hand extended to take the present. Elain turned from where she’d been speaking to Nesta. “Oh, that’s from me.” Azriel’s face didn’t so much as shift at the words. Not even a smile as he opened the present and revealed—“I had Madja make it for me,” Elain explained. Azriel’s brows narrowed at the mention of the family’s preferred healer. “It’s a powder to mix in with any drink.” Silence. Elain bit her lip and then smiled sheepishly. “It’s for the headaches everyone always gives you. Since you rub your temples so often.”
She extended the wrapped gift, her hand shaking. "Here." … Azriel unwrapped the box, glancing at the card that merely said, You might find these useful at the House these days, and then opened the lid. Two small, bean-shaped fabric blobs lay within. Elain murmured, "You put them in your ears, and they block any sound. With Nesta and Cassian living there with you..." He chuckled, unable to suppress the impulse.
He pulled the small velvet box from the shadows around him. Opened it for her. Elain sucked in a soft breath that whispered over his skin. His shadows skittered back at the sound. They'd always been prone to vanish when she was around. The golden necklace seemed ordinary -- its chain unremarkable, the amulet tiny enough that it could be dismissed as an everyday charm. It was a small, flat rose fashioned of stained glass, designed so that when held to the light, the true depth of the colors would become visible. A thing of secret, lovely beauty.
Physical Touch:
Azriel rasped, swaying on his feet, “We need Helion to get these chains off her.” Yet Elain didn’t seem to notice them as she rose up on her toes and kissed the shadowsinger’s cheek.
He knew it was wrong, but there he was, sliding the necklace around her. Letting his scarred fingers touch her immaculate skin. Letting them brush the side of her throat, savoring the velvet-soft texture. Elain shivered, and he took a damn long time fastening the clasp. Azriel's fingers lingered at her nape, atop the first knob of her spine. Slowly, Elain pivoted into his touch. Until his palm lay flat against her neck.
It had never gone this far. They'd exchanged looks, the occasional brush of their fingers, but never this. Never blatant, unrestricted touching.
Azriel's hand slid up her neck, burying in her thick hair. Tilting her face the way he wanted it. Elain's mouth parted slightly, her eyes scanning his before fluttering shut.
Based on these, I think Elain mostly shows love with gift giving/words of affirmation while Azriel is acts of service/quality time. I’m sure they both love physical touch coming from the right person 😉

Bruce Wayne and his kids went to visit the Fentons as they had weapons that could counter ghosts. As ridiculous as believing that ghosts exist, Bruce had to prepare just in case and besides, this 'ectoplasm' could be useful if he researched more about it.
But when they truly saw and encountered a ghost in Amity Park, Richard joked about it by saying something along the lines of "let's help them fulfill their business!" as a way to kill time cuz the Fentons seem too stubborn to give them any info nor let them get anywhere near their weapons.
And thus, the kids started with those green little blobs while Bruce would talk with the Fentons but for some reason, the parents would sometimes dodge the topic of how to trap ghosts. Cuz like, the Fentons had already accepted and changed their views on ghosts and they wouldn't want their weapons to get in the wrong hands. Especially when their own son is a ghost himself.
Something that goes like....
One day, Danny just suddenly got surrounded by Bruce's kids while he and his friends were out patrolling. And of course, Danny is in his human form since there wasn't any ghosts around yet and the three hopefully stays that way since it would be hard explaining things to the kids or even getting away from the kids.
They tried and failed, it's like the three were somehow chipped a tracker in each one of them each time they make a run and split so now the trio had to stop their patrolling and focus on the kids who wouldn't stop bugging them.
"So you guys are here to find out about the ghost's unfinished business???" Tucker asked.
"Yes and no, well, at first it was just for the ectoplasm thing but then...." Richard drawled.
"...Then you encountered a ghost." Sam finished, "So you all are just curious?" Sam asked and the kids nodded, "Well, that's going to be hard... Oh! Wait!" Sam tapped Danny's shoulder, gaining his attention, "There were those blob ghosts weren't there? You know, the weak ones?" Sam said.
Danny hummed and thought about it when he had an idea what Sam was getting at, "Ah! You mean them? Well, they do have simple unfinished business." Danny replied, turning to Wayne's kids, "You guys wanna help, right? We can go over there and help out those little guys." Danny said.
At first the kids were confused on how Danny would find the said ghosts but as it turns out, it was easier than expected. Most of those blobs of ghosts would hang around the cemetery.
And one thing they learned, the ghosts were quite friendly, albeit shy but friendly. And one by one, the ghosts get to rest in peace from the help of Wayne's kids.
"Well... This is one way to kill off your workload." Sam started.
Tucker hummed in delight, "Mhm-hm! We can finally hang out without any distractions!" Tucker said.
"You bet!" Danny chuckled, "Just hope that no big ghosts would come tho... Those kids might really wanna go straight up and ask because of how friendly these guys are." Danny said, his worries slowly creeping in his heart as he said it, "....let's... Let's keep an eye out for their safety..."
The other two nodded in agreement when Damian suddenly went up to the trio with a blob floating on his hand, seemingly fading. Damian stretched his hand out to Danny, "There's something wrong with this guy." Damian said.
When Sam took a look, her face contorted with immense worry while Tucker frowned. Damian noticed the change, "What's wrong? What is happening to it?" Damian asked, his voice was gaining volume that it alarmed the others.
"That's..." Danny spoke, his hand reaching out to the weak ghost, "Well... They're fine..." Danny croaked, the ghost left Damian's hand to Danny's.
Damian narrowed his eyes at the weak ghost, "It doesn't seem fine to me." he said but Danny ruffled the kid's hair to redirect his stare to somewhere else.
"Don't worry about it." Danny smiled, "For now, I'll have this little guy with me." Danny said, discreetly giving the ghost a bit of his ectoplasm, though, he knew that it won't last long.
Damian grumbled but let it go and searched for other ghosts and so did the others. Though, Jason stopped in his tracks and went up to Danny, "Hey..." he started, "What exactly... Is wrong with it?" Jason asked, his voice low as for Damian not to hear.
Danny faced Jason with a weak smile.
"This ghost... Had an unfinished business but it had a deadline." Danny started, "Couldn't complete it in the end. And now they're starting to fade." Danny said.
"But couldn't it just live forever since it's business was never finished???" Richard suddenly popped in on the conversation, "Why would they fade???" he asked.
Danny sighed, "They fade because there's nothing here for them anymore. Besides, their unfinished business is like their heart, their life, so when it's gone then, they'll just have to fade away forever... Who knows where they go though..." Danny replied.
Jason and Richard glanced at each other before one of them asked, "What was it's business anyway?"
"...who knows..." Was all Danny could answer.
Before long, everyone had to go back home. Home of Danny though, he's still stuck with the Wayne's and when he arrived, it turns out Maddie and Jack decided to let the Wayne family stay for the night. The parents somehow built extra rooms for the guests.
And when Danny looked at his parents with his eyes filled with shockness, the parents shrugged. Their smiles were more of, 'We panicked' kind of telling and, 'Welp, we tried....'
Well, what can they say, keep your friends close and your (possible) enemies closer.
But anyway, whatever, I'm still new to Gotham fandom so I'm not sure with the names and personalities lelellelel

“What the fuck is that” You mumbled, squinting your eyes to try and get a better look. Moving your curtain to the side, you stared at the massive black blob that laid almost 50 Ft away from your house. It wasn’t moving, but you could see the outline of a hand and maybe even a head.
Taking a step back, you reached into the entryway table and pulled out a Glock .19, pushing it into the back of your pants, you made your way out the front door.
You walked carefully to it.
It was indeed a body, a body that was unresponsive, but you could hear some mumbling. Using your nurse strength, you pulled the body onto its back and stared down at the odd mask and military clothing. “Sir, are you breathing?” You asked, trying to sound as professional as possible. “Sir! Can you hear my voice!” Leaning down, you could hear him say something.
“Roba? Is that your name? Sir, is your name Roba?”
Getting behind him, you hooked your arms underneath his armpits and began dragging him towards your back door.
“Oh My GAwd!” You let out a loud huff as the man’s body finally hit the hospital-like-bed you kept downstairs. “I never regretted having an entire hospital downstairs more than right now- ow! My back-“ You whined out, rubbing the sore spot on your lower back. Getting him downstairs….well…if he knew, it would probably break his pride.
If he had any left.
You got “scrubbed in” as fast as you could. Slipping on a pair of scrubs over your clothes, getting into some gloves and even putting a mask to your face.
You had everything. Of course you did, you’re a pretty famous underground nurse. You worked with petty criminals, politicians that needed embarrassing or private work done, even with poor people who couldn’t afford basic help. Though licensed as a nurse, your knowledge and expertise went as far as a doctor.
You took off the mask first.
“Wow…you’re..something” you mumbled, placing it to the side, your fingers searching for a wet wipe to clean his face a bit. Once clean, you checked for any sort of cuts or wounds.
The man had a crooked and bumpy nose, with a massive scar coming across of it. His eyebrows were brown and messy, with once again, another scar vertically cutting through it. His hair was dyed blonde and grown out, some of it covering his face. He had a Glasgow smile cutting up the right side of his face and his cheeks were sunken in.
Very obvious sign of malnourishment.
Peeling open his eye lids, you flashed a light and watched how they simply didn’t respond. His pupils seemed to be uneven and you heard the smallest groan slip out of his mouth.
Concussion? Seriously. Fuck.
“Roba? Can you hear me?” The man licked over his dry and cracked lips. “No.” He mumbled, “no? No What?”
The man went silent again.
It was bad. It really was. When you cut off the man’s shirt, his body was littered with unimaginable scars and wounds. His shoulders were burnt and messy. He had a hole between his ribs. What seemed like 100 gunshot and stab wounds. His body was also littered with many messy and faint tattoos. The most prominent and taken care of was the one that adorned his forearm.
Lucky for you, those were all scars and seemed to be in the man’s past. The bloody ones…weren’t any better. His skin almost seemed to be peeling, he had a branding on his pelvic bone that stuck out, and shards of glass and wood stuck into him.
His ribs were sunken in and his skin seemed to be almost purple and red. The man needed something in his system, STAT!
Infection. Infection. Infection Was all that ran through your mind as you hurried to grab a IV bag full of fluids. You searched his cubital fossa for a vein and when you got a good one; you injected him with the needle. Letting the bag drip its liquid gold into his system, you cut off his pants.
Not as bad. But his legs were skinny and taunt.
His wrist was also broken. It seemed cleanly broken though. Like someone purposely did it to inflict pain.
You’re not worried that he might be a horrible person, you really aren’t. You’ve worked with people in the mafia and so much worse. If this man deserved all this to happen to him…then who gives a shit!
“Finished!” You huffed, sitting down in your chair and breathing heavily. Working with a limp body was super difficult, you barely had control over it. You used over the counter Antibiotics for his infection and a “homemade” cast for his wrist.
To heal? He needs lots and lots of nourishment.
Sliding your wheely chair to the closet, you opened it up and searched for a pair of handcuffs. To be safe. Of course. You wheeled back and attached his good hand to the railing of the bed and a sense of comfortability washed over you.
The painkillers you injected into the IV bag will keep him asleep, make him a little drowsy, so he’ll for sure wake up screaming and thrashing, confused where he ended up at. While he had his beauty sleep, you searched his pants, vest, side bags and the broken down backpack he had on him. Messy and dirty clothes made up most of the bag and you made a mental note to wash them in your softest and best detergent.
He had a bag of essentials in the smaller pocket of the military backpack and you took them to the bathroom in the basement. He had no phone, just a loose watch that had a broken screen. His vest seemed to be missing something, like some sort of system was ripped out of it.
The man had no ID.
The man seemed to be no one. Like he didn’t exist.
Cleaning up the mess you made, you didn’t need to worry about weapons as the man had nothing on him. Maybe, he himself was the weapon. You left upstairs, locking the door on the bottom of the stairs, and then the door that led to the stairs. You washed his messy clothes and stitched up the ones that had tiny holes in them. You made a homemade tomato soup and kept it warm until he would wake up.
Before you left upstairs, you snapped a photo of his face. Your “friends” could help you.

Still Deeper
Based on the prompt “How deep is the Ghost Zone?” for Phic Phight!
For @aggressivelyclueless Word count: 3,055 AO3 Link
Danny often wondered how deep the Ghost Zone ran. When he let himself drift over the islands, watching the lap of ectoplasm tug at the purpled stones like the endless waves of a moonless ocean. When he drifted closer, feeling that pull that ached to tug him into the depths.
Settling down on one of the islands, Danny let his spectral tail dip where the ectoplasm grew heavy. It sent a shiver down his spine, not unlike a cold splash of water, freshly thawed in the spring.
He couldn’t help but compare it to the sea. Green and ghastly as it was, the similarities felt hauntingly close when great behemoths rose from the depths, too many eyes skirting what Danny could only call the surface, before sinking back down to the depths.
He tried to venture there once.
Shutting his eyes, Danny recalled that hapless voyage with a shudder. He’d tied a Fenton fishing line around his waist and trusted Sam and Tucker with the other end. They’d advised against it, knuckles whitening with fear for his safety as they held that thin thread with everything they had.
Danny offered a smile and a salute as he took the plunge.
Diving was easy. The ectoplasm did not fight him, rather welcoming him as he struck through the wash of green. That first layer was not too dissimilar to the surface itself, and by the time Danny glanced upwards he would not have been able to see the difference at all were it not for the sharpened bases of the islands striking downward.
He struck downward too, his tail flickering as he went.
If the surface of the Zone was air, this layer was a fog. It clung to Danny’s skin like mist, cold and hazy with the scent of petrichor heavy in his nostrils.
Blob ghosts trilled in the distance, their sounds echoing on and on in the open expanse. They darted towards Danny, a flock of bright green and brighter red eyes. He welcomed them with a pulse of his core and their trills redoubled with glee.
“Is everything okay?” Sam asked through the Fenton Phones, her tone as tense as the line around his waist.
“Everything’s fine, Sam,” Danny reassured as he held his hand out, letting one of the blob ghosts roll over his fingers. “There’s just some blob ghosts here.”
She wanted him to resurface, but Danny had more to see.
The blob ghosts stuck with him for a time, corkscrewing around his tail and settling in his hair like fat drops of rain. Danny hummed with their trills, finding a chorus of song answering his own.
The mist of the expanse began to densen, coalescing in a blanket of jade fog. It coiled around Danny as he met it, the chill it left on his skin buzzing.
The blob ghosts quieted as he swept his tail through the fog. They tentatively drifted to meet it, their own tails skirting just above the layer. Curiosity and unease mixed, pinging from their little forms with each warbling trill and chirp.
Tentatively, Danny sank his hand beneath the layer of fog, feeling that electric buzz shudder through his ectoplasm.
It wasn’t unpleasant. Strange and new, but no less unpleasant than the crackle of a distant storm.
With one last glance at the blob ghosts, sure they would not follow him down, Danny sank deeper into the abyss.
The cold sparks that danced across Danny’s face electrified his core, filling him with energy and nerve. The jade of the fog had faded into a strange sort of blue, not unlike the open atmosphere of the world the Zone paralleled.
Large, cloud-like structures rose up from the new depths, cyclical spirals that drifted slowly, as if caught in a current. Danny could spot rocks drifting along with them, some as vibrantly purple as the ones at the surface and others as jet-black as obsidian. He moved in an arc to meet one of the stones, finding it tumbled and rounded like the pebbles of a river.
A loud trill startled Danny from his thoughts. He spun around to find a large blob ghost winding towards him, a long tail flowing behind it. Its ectoplasm was as teal as Jazz’s eyes and its face pointed like the tapered snout of a sturgeon. It met Danny with beady magenta eyes, his own glow reflected in those bright orbs as it drifted around him. Its tail ghosted across his arms, curiosity brimming from its ectoplasm in one long, drawn-out trill that whistled and crackled at the end.
Danny returned it in kind with a chirp from his core, watching the ectoplasm ripple across the ghost’s back as it made one last spin around him.
Just as soon as it came, it was gone, tail flicking lazily as it threaded through the stones circling one of those cloud-like spires.
Danny wondered just how deep the spires went. He followed their spiral, finding more oddities amidst the collection of stones. There were odd items gathered in the current: old watches, faded photographs, and glistening jewelry. Trinkets lost to time— though how literally, Danny couldn’t say. He regarded a locket with an inscription so worn that he couldn’t read more than the letter ‘A’. It took everything in him not to reach out and touch it and see if something lay inside.
Something as innate as the hum of his core told him that he shouldn’t disturb their rest.
Rest… it was a funny word for a lump of old bronze and a rusted chain.
“Where are you?” came Tucker’s voice in his ear, the words oddly distant and ringed with static.
“I’m not sure,” Danny answered, still following the curve of the spire, giving distance to the items pulled towards it. “It almost looks like the sky here. It’s nice, honestly.”
Tucker hummed, his anxiety evident. “Just don’t go too far. There’s still plenty of line, but you need to turn back at the first sign of danger.”
Danny nodded, though they couldn’t see. “I know, Tuck. I’ll be careful,” he said.
The buzz hummed alongside his core as he dove still deeper.
The spires did not end, in a sense. They merely faded, drifting apart into a layer of rich white fog that mixed in swirls and rivulets with bright streaks of goldenrod. The static lingered most prominently there, as cold as the Far Frozen and as lively as a sparking wire. Danny hesitated before he met this fog, worried for a moment that the sparks would be more electrical and biting than the familiar caress of active ectoplasm. He brushed the tip of his tail through the swirls, watching as it melted outwards from the contact in jagged ripples.
His core pulsed with energy, a cold hum resonating with the fractals of ice that lingered in his own ectoplasm.
He readily dove through it, laughing as ice bloomed over his hands and in his hair, trailing off of him in powders of snow.
The channels of white fog faded altogether into that goldenrod yellow. It was denser than the green and blue had been, yet no less alive— in a way only ectoplasm could be. Danny tensed as he saw shadows in the distance, moving through the last fading reaches of the spires. It took him a moment to recognize them as ghosts, though he supposed he ought not be surprised.
They were like no ghosts that Danny had ever seen. More fish and mollusk than blob, with arching fins and tangling whiskers. They drifted in schools, watching him with too many eyes above too many teeth. Each was as different from the next, some more vapor and smoke than anything, and others as dense and sharp as horn.
They ignored Danny for the most part, continuing on their course, though some darted away as soon as their eyes met.
One approached, six eyes green and gleaming in the golden haze. Danny knew fear, his hand tensing on the line as it drew close. It was as large as he was, an awful thing that was more shark in the front and nautilus in the back, with a mouth that stretched from its snout to the horn of the shell.
It kept some distance and Danny let go of some of his fear, regarding the ghost with a tilt of his head that it copied— as much as it could with the stiffened, inorganic rigidity of something that may have never existed outside of this place.
Three of the eyes blinked and two long tendrils stretched out, brushing close to Danny’s face as the ghost let out a staccato of unearthly clicks.
The same curiosity as the blob ghost from the layer above, enough to mirror Danny’s own. He tried to return it in kind, finding a trickle of something neighboring on amusement when his core garbled the odd notes.
The creature went on its way, leaving a channel of rippling goldenrod in its wake. Sparks danced along its ectoplasm as it went and Danny watched as the green of the ghost's eyes faded into the mire around him.
More of those strange ghosts followed Danny, perhaps emboldened by the first. They ranged in size, some no larger than dimes and others enough to rival small whales. A ghost swam below Danny, all tentacles and eyes, like a jellyfish without its crown. Small fish-like ones flitted around his head, all teeth and sharp edges.
He kept his guard about him, ready to make good on his word and flee at the first sign of danger, but… found none amidst the odd assortment of ghosts. They almost danced, in a way, following currents he couldn’t feel in patterns he couldn’t see. Many of them dove downwards, fading to golden shadows in his periphery.
Danny followed one of them, tracing the trail it left in its wake, watching the flicker of its smoke-like tails as they wound and undulated with the ghost’s movement.
The goldenrod darkened into a rich sunset orange. The trail tunneled, the path wavering like sand pulled by the tide. Sparks crackled along Danny’s back, the space smelling of ozone and, strangely, of stone. The mute scent of a cavernous cave far below the soil, all rock and dripping water.
The ghost before him took a sharp dive downwards, the smoke of its tails stretching to faint wisps that tickled Danny’s nose. He scrunched up his eyelids, shaking the vapor from his face. His movement felt slow and stuttered, the air as dense as the mud-choked waters of a swamp.
When he opened his eyes again, Danny had to blink to make sure he was seeing things correctly. The rich sunset ombre of orange had gone, and in its place the sky bled red.
A red so absolute that it pressed on Danny’s eyes, warping the colors around him. It stained his gloves the same color, as rich and bloody as a weeping wound. The static had lessened from the lively buzz to something much more languid and rhythmic. The slow beats of a resting heart. The offbeat thumps of a timpani drum. The rumble of faroff thunder without so much as a spark of lightning to see.
Shadows hung in Danny’s periphery, blacker than the night. They formed strange structures not unlike tangled tree branches, only too geometric and sharp-edged to ever be something so organic. The ghost he had followed swam on, its blue ectoplasm now a rich purple in the red light. It coasted along, uncaring of the shift in pressure.
Danny tried to follow it, but paused when that energy squeezed at his core, pulsing like the heartbeat of something far too vast and far too old. It had pinpricks racing along his arms and to his chest, freezing his torso in a way that had nothing to do with the chill surrounding him and everything to do with the frantic, nervous humming of his core.
He shouldn’t be here. Wherever here was, it did not know the living. It hardly knew the dead, too uncaring of Danny’s fear in its vast wake.
Sounds echoed around him, the cracks of shattering glass and grinding stone joining the monotonous tune that squeezed at his chest. The air smelled strongly of iron, only worsening the awful likeness to fresh blood.
The ghost was nearly gone now, aiming towards one of the blackened structures with slow, languid flicks of its tails. Danny could just make out its eyes, too many luminous dots that raced along every inch of its form.
Just as it began to round the corner, the air seemed to shift. The space behind the structure rippled, a wall of red colliding with the ghost, opening into a vast, cavernous maw of blade-sharp teeth.
It swallowed the ghost whole, the rich purple ectoplasm disappearing into the void-dark belly of the beast.
Danny’s core could have shattered with how strongly it hummed, fear coursing through every inch of his being. He remained stockstill, hoping that the thing with too many teeth wouldn’t turn its attention on him.
Static crackled in his ears, the garble of voices unable to make it through the wall of interference.
A thousand eyes, each darker than shadow, turned to meet him.
The line tugged and Danny didn’t fight it. He welcomed the reminder of safety up above and turned sharply, throwing everything he had into rocketing upwards through the warped tunnels above.
The static rippled in his ears, a small nuisance compared to the heavy thunder of crashing glaciers and rumbling earth that chased behind. It brought its own static, too piercing and high for Danny to make sense of anything more than a cruel, twisted pitch that met his ears so sharply he was sure they bled.
Danny didn’t stop, his chest heaving with breaths he didn’t need as he shot through the electric buzz of goldenrod, this time finding no safety in its energetic embrace.
He could feel the creature behind him still. Its thrum of energy, the acidic bite of its breath. He didn’t dare spare a glance backwards, least of all when he felt something sharp rake along his tail, the world darkening as the thing that shadowed him drew too close.
Danny put everything he had into soaring upwards. Every last ounce of energy, every prayer. He ignored the fish-like ghosts as they peeled away, their cores sparking with a horrendous fear as Danny brought the thing that lurked in the bloody depths into their peaceful layer of gold.
Danny could have cried when he saw the goldenrod mix with white. Could have kissed the odd trinkets that danced around the spires, if disturbing their rest meant escaping the gnash of too many teeth.
Its presence lingered behind Danny far too long, his core stuttering with each rhythmic pulse of ancient, resonant ectoplasm. It knew no emotion he could recognize. Nothing he could understand past the desire to tear and bite and end.
Danny didn’t stop when the last deep thrums of the ghost’s core faded, sinking back to the depths far below. He kept going, tears pricking the corners of his eyes when he spotted the sharp stones of the islands overhead.
Danny shot out of the ectoplasmic sea and breathed like a man starved of air. His chest heaved, his arms shook. He landed on the nearest island, crumpling into a quivering heap.
He sobbed.
Danny hardly remembered when Sam and Tucker found him. They had been several islands away when he resurfaced, he was told.
They had almost gone down for him, they had said.
That memory lingered much more strongly— the fear tied to it as he looked at his friends with tear-stricken eyes and made them promise to never venture where he had gone.
Danny rolled on his side as he remembered the fear that had gripped at his core. How close he had come to finding himself in the belly of a beast, utterly lost to anything resembling home.
His hand ghosted along his hip, right over where the ghost’s teeth had scraped him, digging deep channels into his body that bled through layer upon layer of gauze.
More layers than he has dove.
The scars remained, just as much as that fear, and yet… as Danny flicked his tail through the dense waves of ectoplasm, part of him longed to delve still deeper.
~*~
A fish-like ghost, more shark and nautilus than any one thing, knew the red depths well. It often sank through the goldenrod tunnels to linger in the forests of blackened branches. It was quicker than most, able to dart away from the behemoths that stalked the open stretches and hummed discordant songs that spelled a death it didn’t know.
The black branches shot downwards into the familiar dusky stretches of its first home. Here the branches merged into colossal trunks that stretched too high and too low. It would hug the trunks, sinking deeper until the red faded into a cold silver rich with fragments of stone and drifting globules of ectoplasm.
The trunks branched out again if the ghost went deep enough. They formed massive roots, digging into shattered plains amidst glowing fronds, each clinging to the other. Small ghosts congregated on these expanses, finding shelter in the vast network of roots, and sustenance in what fell from the stretches above.
The behemoths, ancient as they were, did not always last. When they fell they would drift through the haze and into the silver, their weakened forms snagging on the roots and laying within the fronds. The last hums of their cores, if they still pulsed, rang like a dinner bell throughout the hallowed roots. The ghosts that lingered there would congregate, a symphony of cores welcoming a feast for the Ancients— perhaps even of them, if they could ever be so lucky to have one fall.
The plains were not endless, broken by great cracks that wove over the blackest black.
It didn’t know what lay below, only that it went still deeper.

A Shattered Core
Danny gets turned over to the GIW. A core gets shattered.
It all happened so quickly.
He was too late.
Danny didn’t make it. He didn’t get freed quickly enough.
He didn’t get to Dani in time. Only witnessed the travesty.
It all started with him. Didn’t it always?
If he hadn’t walked into that portal would any of this happened?
Danny was the one who got caught. Opening the door to the possibilities of those “disguising” as human. He was the one who attracted the ghost. Skulker was hunting him after all.
Danny got engaged in a fight with him. That’s how they caught him. A single fight changed everything. Skulker had gunned for his prey yet again. Danny barely managed to get out of his room before the first hit. Skulker most of just came from the portal. Immediately gunning for him.
It had all been going well. They were out of the house, he thought away from his parents. A few ecto blasts here and there. A standard night out on the town. Danny had been so close to ending the battle and souping his rogue. Jack and Maddie most of heard the commotion.
Coming out guns blazing. Now it was Danny versus two groups on top of keeping his parents from attacking Skulker.
It all comes down to him getting hit. Jazz rushing out. Skulker getting away.
Jack and Maddie had taken it well. Apologizing for everything. Playing nice, disarming the weapons in the lab. The security system no longer went off on him. Even if he did use his powers.
The two were good actors.
No one suspected them.
Pretending to listen. Pretending to believe them. Pretending they still cared.
Three weeks of pretending. Three weeks of faking.
Jazz left town for the night. A quick college visit. Leaving that morning to be back the next one. Sam and Tucker were with him for the day.  He was only alone for maybe an hour. They all thought the two accepted him. No one had any suspicions.
They turned him over. Handed him off to the GIW. Claiming he was causing the others to believe the lies.
Everything was from his powers. Possession. Something of the sort. He was corrupting them. Danny was the one to blame.
He ended up strapped down in a lab. White walls, white ceiling, and a dandy power suppressor.
Danny didn’t know how long they had him. It got hard to think. Hard to breathe. Hard to comprehend what was going on around him.
Experiment after experiment.
Cut after cut.
Never-ending. No rest
He had given up on getting himself out. It was a waste of his energy. He couldn’t waste it all. The less he fought the more Danny could save. It was already difficult with the constant jabs and lack of pain meds. Danny needed to be ready for the escape.
His friends would find him. He knew it. Danny could always trust them to bail him out. The latest it would be was in the morning. Tucker and Sam must know by now. There was no way they weren’t already forming a plan.
It was just a matter of time.
Most of it was a haze anyways. Couldn’t recall much of what they’ve done.
It was just a waiting game.
Then something in the air changed.
everything came to a halt.
The cuffs and metal on his back remained. Not the cutting or the pain. Danny still could hardly move and was unable to talk. Nothing would come out, no noise no cough nothing. The silence of the room and pure white walls was driving him mad.
Then a muffled noise. Almost like a scream, too far and distant to tell. The vibe in the room began to change. Horror and fear fill him up. It kept building up, getting worse and worse. The screams get closer and louder. No, it couldn’t be. Not her.
Danny couldn’t see her, but he could hear her screams. He didn’t even know how they knew about her. Last he saw she was long gone. She didn’t stick around after being stabilized.
Dani was begging pleading. Screaming about how she was still human. That she wasn’t non-sentient. She wasn’t just a blob of emotions. Danny knew it would be no use.
He had tried explaining it to them. Everything he thought could help. Just got told it was an impressive act. Just that is a simple act. No true emotions, no humanity, and no sentience.
Her being here complicated matters. When Sam and Tucker got here, they needed to prioritize her. Dani wasn’t the most stable in the first place. Whatever they did to him may not work for her. Who knows what could happen if they experimented on her? Danny didn’t want to find out.
They brought Dani into the room. She fought the whole time. Danny began again. There was no good ending for her in this situation. Neither were successful. Agent K and O followed in right after. Double the trouble.
Those two only appeared when they had some seriously messed up scheme. Only for the worst of the experiments. The device in their hands did them no favor. Then the two began talking about how they didn’t have a need for two. Two ghosts pretending to be human.
Only one is needed. One to test and prod. To see what lengths their deception would go to. Now that they had two it was time to prove a point. Prove they don’t care about one another. What better time than now to test a new weapon? One designed to destroy a ghost's very being.
They had enough evidence to suggest one area of a ghost that contains their very being. Danny knew what they meant. A ghost's core. The place all their ectoplasm is stored and powers flow through. That’s when his fight became more urgent. More panicked.
Fighting against the restraints holding him back.
The agents paid no mind to him. Focused on the weapon in hand. The one they raised to her chest.
The cuff around his wrist began to get colder. Despite the power restraint around his neck. Danny knew it was breaking. His powers overpowering it. The two were still too lost in what they were doing.
The same moment he broke free was the same moment the device shot out.
At the exact moment Sam, Tucker, and Jazz broke in. Fully armed and ready for war.
He was busy watching as her core shattered. The pieces explode out all over the ground. No more screams or pleading. No green pile of goo.
A shattered core was all that was left.
Rushing to them. He began to piece them together. Desperation fueled his motions. Trying to piece the shattered shards together. All the fighting going on behind him was ignored.
Not responding to anyone.
Just trying to solve an unsolvable puzzle.
The adrenaline rush began to fade. Danny kept going. Kept going until the world became spotted black. Only stopping when it all went black.
Coming to he didn’t expect to be in a car. For Jazz to be driving and Tucker in shotgun navigating. Sam is on the other side of the car. He most certainly wasn’t expecting the little girl in the middle. One who looked exactly like Dani, red beanie, and all. Only younger.
The way Sam looked at him and the way the girl leaned into him was all Danny needed. He knew it was Dani.

New Beginnings
Fandom: Danny Phantom Prompt: White Crow Character: Danny, Clockwork, Lancer Words: 1,109 Summary: With Sam and Tucker out for the week Danny is having a tiring week. That is until Clockwork stops by and gives him some news Warnings: strong language
Tumblr media
Danny was having an off day. An off week. An off month maybe even. He was having to fight ghost after ghost after ghost for the past week. He’s gotten no sleep and it’s been killing him.
Sam was off on some event her parents dragged her to while Tucker was visiting his uncle out of the city. It was killing him. While his two friends were excused from school Danny was stuck. Sleeping in class accidentally and missing school days. It was a lot, and he was struggling. The last time he struggled as much was possibly when he first got his ghost powers.
He knew that there was no way to fight it so instead he chooses to just yawn and make his way towards Lancer’s next class. He would have to work hard to stay awake since his two best friends were not here to take notes for him.
The plan did not work as well as he wanted it to, Lancer had to shake him awake, a worried expression on his face, so Danny wouldn’t be late to his next class.
“Is everything okay Mr. Fenton?” Lancer asked, he figured it was safe considering everyone else already left for their next class.
“Yeah. Everything’s fine Mr. Lancer. It’s just harder without Sam and Tucker here,” Danny shrugged off the old teacher’s worry.
“Well Mr. Foley and Ms. Manson will both be back before the end of the week is up. Is there a reason why you’ve been sleeping through my classes?” he crossed his arms. It felt like he was looking in Danny’s soul.
“No sir. I’ve just been working hard at some after school things. Sam and Tucker normally help me. It’ll be better once they get back. I’ll try not to fall asleep tomorrow. I promise!” Danny yelled at him, hearing the late bell ring, rushing towards his next class.
The day continued for Danny, skipping gym to take care of a few small blobs that found their way into the school. Last thing Danny wanted was for the small helpless blobs to set off the ghost alarms.
After school he quickly made his way back to his house, finding it empty, he untenanted the thermos into the portal.
He flew back up to his room, hopefully he could get some homework started before his patrol, or worse a ghost shows up before that.
An hour or two had to have passed when his ghost sense went off.
“Time in.” a medallion was placed over his neck. “Working hard young Daniel?”
“Clockwork? What’s wrong? Did Dan get out!” Danny was quick to change into ghost form, ready for a heavy fight.
“Calm down young one,” the ancient ghost chuckled. “I do not come bearing bad news,” He shifted from an adult to an older man.
“Then why are you here?” Dann took a seat at his desk once again, not changing out of ghost form.
“Well, I have an announcement to make.” Danny really didn’t want to deal with the older ghost dramatic pauses right now. “I pronounce you, Daniel Phantom, next in line for the throne of the Infinite Realms!” Danny could swear he saw a smile on Clockworks’s face, but he was to shock; flabbergasted.
“I’m sorry?” he said after two minutes of pure silence.
“The council has been fighting ever since Pariah was fully defeated. They’ve been looking to crown the next ghost and a decision had to be made,” He spoke as if Danny was the obvious choice
“No. Why me? I don’t deserve to be king! I don’t want to be king! What would I even do! No! Just No! Give it to someone else!” Danny was pacing around his room, not realizing that his feet were slowly leaving the ground.
“You defeated Pariah Dark. The choice was between Vlad or you and the council has made a decision. You were vouched for by Princess Dora, Pandora, Frostbite and many other ancients. I even gave my vote,” Clockwork informed him.
“Theirs’s a council? And they vouched for me?”  Danny was truly surprised at everything that he was hearing.
“Like I said their were two candidates. Vlad or You. Frist the council had to narrow down their options for the throne. Next, they needed to be vouched for. With the two choices only one or two out of the entire council voted for Vlad. You won the majority rule. We are on the third step. I have informed you. This is where you make the decision to try for the throne. If you refuse then we go on to Vlad,” Clockwork spoke from memory.
“Okay so if I don’t accept it goes to Vlad and if I do then what?”
“Once you accept, we set up a meeting with the council. There you will go preliminaries and answer any questions. Once all that is done, if the council accepts you then you will be crowned as Prince until the council deems you worthy of a crown. After that you will be titled prince. A different ceremony will be set up for that, where you will receive the ring of rage. There is more after, but that is the step that you are talking about.”
“Do I have time to think about it?” Danny asked.
“I wish. Sadly, the time is only what I can give you here. Once I return it to normal the council will be waiting a decision. I know it’s a big one, but I would not be vouching for you if I didn’t believe in you,” Clockwork put a supportive hand on the younger ghosts shoulder.
“I’ll do it. I’ll became the next Ghost King,” Danny decided after a minute.
“I will alert the council of your decision. The road ahead is hard, but very much worth it. You will be a good king.”
“Did you see that in my timeline?” Danny rolled his eyes.
“The second you were nominated for king you timeline has been blocked from me. You’re future is fully up yo you. I’ll be letting you know when your first council meeting is. Until then you take care young prince,” Clockwork bowed, disappearing in a swirl of time.
Danny couldn’t believe his luck. He needed to tell Sam and Tucker. Needed to tell Jazz. He needed to finish homework. He needed to go on patrol.
But at that moment all he could do was see at his bed looking out of his window, a strange feeling forming in his stomach when he saw a white crow perched outside of his window, disappearing as if it was a trick of the light.

Lastly, I have been using different stores as my teacher, and I do not know all of them, I want to give a big shot out to you guys because without this story might not even happen. one of the authors is @halfghostwriter, and there are so many more on here, fanfation.net, AO3, in other words, thank you.
I would love feedback however, I will not be happy if there is rude comments, I believe in you guys!
Rate T - M (Have not fully decided on the rate yet)
Now let’s start this story, shall we?
Walker and his adopted halfa son
Chapter 1) Danny having ghost problem again?
No point of View
When ghosts are born there are different types, true ghosts are born in the ghost zone, then there is the undead ghost, which is after the life of a human is done and come to the ghost zone they are called an undead ghost. During this time both types of ghosts take months to stabilize and start forming, and they start as blobs with different lengths of tails and different shades of green depending on how evil or good they are dark being evil and cruel light green being good, and kind however the action of an infant ghost can affect the color of their skin, in other words, if they did something bad, then their skin slowly turns darker green and it works both ways too and for their eyes are the color of their core, and when they start growing into whatever form they see fit or who they look up to.
Unfortunately, that can be slightly hard for Danny however he does not know about this and it is a bit of a learning moment when it happens, luckily his not going through it alone, he has Sam, and tucker who have been there right from the start and helping him physically, and his sister Jazz who found out due to help of the psych bitch and her henchman, since then she has been helping him mentally, which is a good thing because his human has physically grown normally however mentally it some time goes on the same level as his ghost form, and it has slowly been happening more and more often, which of course is showing a red flag between Sam, Tucker, and Jazz, unfortunately, they don’t know what to do and they just think it is a ghost thing given that Danny is half ghost and half-human, so ghost habits and behaviors is a whole new thing for the four them, not to mention trying to make sure Danny, and Jazz’s parents do not find out, along with keeping the crazy fruiteloop away from them, and along with going to school so it can be really packed when redom ghost pop up out of the blue and like to give them hell and destore places, ever sense he got his powers.
One day Danny is in the ghost zone exploring the zone and trying to make a map because getting lost is not fun he looks at the time on his watch, reads the time of 8:00 pm, and decided to head home so he does not miss his 10:00 pm curfew. On his way to the portal to home, he spots Walker’s goons, and the best course of action is to void them because he is tried and he needs food, along with doing his homework for school Danny went in a different way, that leads to the portal while voiding walker’s goons naturally it falls and they spotted him, and start attacking him to bring him in while Danny keeps putting up shield after shield, something happens to Danny that both of Walker’s goons paled and become speechless.
See what happens next!
???? Goon 1: YOU’RE A BABY????
???? Goon 2: ……….. ( still in shock)
Danny: …… (looks confused while trying to look mad)

Frazzled & Frizzy
Ok. So, lack of sleep. Depending on the person the symptoms of sleep deprivation can differ greatly. Some people get tired, others get paranoid or grumpy, and quite a few get migraines. However, a select few fall victim to a specific symptom of sleep deprivation I like to call frazzled and frizzy. I am one such victim.
Frazzled and frizzy happens when your so tired the mind bypasses the need for sleep by substituting it with the manic need to do anything but. Everything is hilarious, you feel like you could run a marathon on your hands while singing Bohemian Rhapsody out of tune at the top of your lungs, and common sense becomes distorted. The moment you stop moving, however, you collapse into a pile of goo and bone-deep regret.
I can help but think of how beautifully this would work with Danny.
Here’s Danny. He’s fought ghosts the entire night before, he had a math test the following morning, interspaced ghost attacks in the afternoon coupled with detention for missing gym, not to mention homework and the various household chores his dad pushed off onto him. He’s been waiting to collapse on his bed and into sleep all day.
Which he does. Right after dinner and Jazz-mandated family bonding time, he practically crawled up the stairs and down the hall to his room. At first Danny doesn’t even bother to brush his teeth. He puts on his PJ’s and curls up under the perfectly cozy covers of his space themed bed spread.
Five minutes later he’s out of bed and brushing his teeth because his mom didn’t believe the dentist could do anything better than what she could do herself. Danny still had trauma from the last time his dad played nurse and whipped out the Fenton Instant Cavity Filler.
So he goes back to bed. This time the covers don’t feel nearly as cozy and his pillow seems to have developed an unpleasant lump. By the time he finds the perfect position he can’t stop thinking about how he hasn’t gone pee yet. He doesn’t actually have to pee. Danny knows he doesn’t.
One bathroom trip later, his eyes had adjusted to the light and his blankets been tangled from the last time was in bed. After several moments of wrestling the comforter into submission, he finally gets comfortable again and closes his eyes.
For quite awhile he lays in the quite darkness of his room. He hardly moves until the last glowing star on his ceiling has lost it’s splendor.
Danny’s eye twitched. He felt a shiver roll down his spine. With starbursts exploding out his chest, he launched himself out of bed and immediately turned on the lights to his room in order to recharge his stars. Speaking of which, has his room always been this messy?
Danny eyed the pieces of the rocket Skulker had shattered that time he broke into his room. His eyes flickered over to the clock.
10:46pm
Well, it wasn’t too late to put it back together.
.......
There was a noise. It was low and rumbling. Sleepily, Sam rolled away from it, dipping quickly back into silent dreams.
The sound continued its rolling cadence. Sam, it seemed to whisper. She burrowed deeper into her pillow.
Sam, it called again. Gradually, she peeled an eye open to catch something glowing and green. The blob released a hysterical giggle.
“Danny?” She questioned, sitting up and rubbing sleep from her eyes.
Once her vision was clear, she was better able to take in his appearance. His hair was sticking up in ever direction more than usual with twigs and leaves interwoven into the white strands. There was an unnaturally long grin spread across his face with a gently green tint across his cheeks. His hands where splattered with something green.
“Sam! You won’t believe what I figured out!” He laughed hysterically, “So I was trying to fix my rocket, you know, the one that Skulker broke, and I started thinking about how nice the stars are outside. So naturally I jumped out the window-”
“You want!? You went ghost, right?”
“Don’t worry about it, I landed in a bush,”
That explained the leaves.
“Anyway, the stars where cover in clouds because October weather sucks, so I started to wander around and ran into the Red Huntress!”
“What!? Did she shoot at you?”
“Only a little, I defeater her by forgetting to go intangible though a tree and face planting into another bush. She totally missed me, and then-”
“Danny?”
“Hmm?”
“Please just tell me what you figured out so I can go back to sleep.”
Danny blinked at her blankly for several minutes before a look of recognition flew over his features. Reaching intangibly into his stomach, Danny pulled out a tiny green blob ghost. The tiny thing blinked tiny black eyes at her.
Sam watched as Danny proceeded to ring the blob ghost out like a towel. Quite a bit of green liquid poured out of the little creating, staining he rug in the neon color. Once he was done the blob ghost popped back up into it’s normal shape.
Danny looked at her with a big smile, “Isn’t that neat?”
“What the fuck?”

A Phantom Adopted
Murder Misery
A devil and a priest go on the hunt, while a late fee collector and his cousins withdraw from attempting to teach a 15-year-old baby. discussions are had, plans are made.
Ao3
One would expect that a soul-sucking shadow demon would be somewhat difficult for people not particularly well versed in tracking others down to find - even more so considering that Leico’s attempt to scry her failed him.  Still, it turned out that feeding on misery in order to sustain one’s looks made one unpopular, and so finding Penelope Spectra was no challenge.  The irritating part was merely that she had someone with her.
A green blob with red eyes, claws, and a fanged mouth arched a brow that wasn’t there a moment ago at them, looking wholly unimpressed.  A corpse-pale woman wearing a cropped black shirt and black pants covered in green flame accents turned around to look at them both, purple lips pulling back to reveal a smile full of fangs.
“My my, it appears someone went about seeking us out, Penelope.  We don’t get many clients who want us, do we?”
“No, we don’t.  I assure you, gentlemen, that I’ll be perfectly able to help you through whatever it is that you’ve got going on in those little heads of yours.”
Leico reached under his cloak, pulling from behind him a silver mace that hummed with power.  Duncan pulled out his pistol, disabling the safety he’d installed after one too many close calls with drunken family.
“You can help me by sitting still and letting us purge you from existence.”
“You can help me by giving me a moving target.”
Five cracks rang through the air as bullets, engraved with infernal sigils, flew and dug into the pair of ghosts with lightning speed and deadly precision.  Duncan grinned at the pair, 3 holes blasted into Spectra and 2 splatters of goo flung from Bertrand’s gelatinous form.
The grin fell and a yelp escaped him as the blob took on the form of a large cat of some kind, and claws sliced into his tail as Duncan tried to dodge out of the way.  Wonderful to learn that one of his opponents could change form like that, very nice.
“What violent little men you are!  You are men, aren’t you, not a pair of monsters trying to make themselves-AH!”
Bertrand was forced back rather quickly when Leico’s hand, wreathed in blinding grey light, slapped the shapeshifter in the center of his body and over half of it was burned away by the light.  The warbling screech Bertrand made as he retreated was music to Duncan’s ears, and he fist bumped Leico while Bertrand turned into a small bird.
A crackling bolt of violet light flew toward them and the brothers jumped away, putting some space between themselves.  Grey-violet-green light swirled into a ball in his hand, a veritable maelstrom of color, and scoffed at Spectra.
“May your soul face proper judgment at the hands of the Queen.”
“The only Queen I answer to is myself, you pest!”
Spectra rose into the sky, as much as it was the sky, and raised a wall of ectoplasm.  The bolt of holy light pierced it like a rocket through glass, and with a flare of incandescence and a hellish wail, Penelope Spectra was nothing more than a wispy ball of shadow floating aimlessly through the void.
Bertrand flew after the core, hoping to fly his oil stain of a mistress away from the battle.
CRACK
Metal coated in literal hellfire slammed through Bertrand’s wing, and he lost hold of his falcon form.
CRACK
Pain became his world and Bertrand was reduced to naught but his core, the ectoplasm around him too thick with holy and infernal magic from their attackers to pull into himself, to build a new body.  That was fine, he would be fine, they’d assume this was the worst that could be done and walk away.  Humans didn’t know how the soul worked, after all.
CRACK
Another bullet sailed through Penelope Spectra’s core, and even stripped down to a core himself, Bertrand could feel her screams, fire and shadows exploding into nothing.  He shuddered with a violent sorrow that threatened to rip him apart.
CRACK
Rather than joining his precious Penelope, Bertrand was faced with a far more horrific reality.  Without his core, he was unbound from the ectoplasm that made up the liminal realm, and without it there was nothing.  No sight, no sound, no touch or smell or taste.  The countless senses that being a ghost afforded them, gone.  He simply was.
True destruction would have been a mercy, but demons and priests were not known for mercy when dealing out retribution.
Duncan sighed, checking over his pistol before holstering it.  Taking a deep breath, he let fire rise from within, sealing up the miniscule cuts that Bertrand had managed to land on him, and shook out his limbs.
“That was disappointing.  I expected a fight not 12 seconds of executing a couple of weaklings.”
“They preyed on children, Duncan, what did you expect?   I’m honestly just surprised they managed to nick you.”
“Yeah yeah, rub it in.  I just didn’t know that there’d be a shapeshifter, or I’d’ve backed up a bit more.   Whatever.   Think there’s a bounty we can collect on?”
“What currency would ghosts in a multicultural melting pot of an afterlife even use?  Energy?”
“True, it’d probably be a barter system or IOUs.  Whatever, let’s get back home, shall we?  Truly a riveting tale on how long this took to get to.”
Leico snorted and put away his mace, gesturing at the air in front of them.   The ectoplasm swirled up and out into a shimmering grey-violet disc, resolving into a gateway onto the deck of the Rose Phoenix.  Sharp winds and arctic cold flew out of the Gate and Leico shivered, wrapping an arm around Duncan for warmth.
“Well, if Toby and Valdan got wrapped up with the kid, Dave is dealing with learning the medicinal technology.   Hopefully this doesn’t turn into a fight.  I can feel that place sucking in my heat from here.”
The pair walked onto their spelljammer, leaving Spectra and her assistant to think about what they’d done for however long it took for souls to connect with ectoplasm.  Or however long it took until a lich found them, either or.
#
Jazz rushed over to check on Danny, and after several minutes of making sure there were no bruises, bumps, or cuts, she had to admit to that overprotective sister within that he was fine.  She turned to glare at Cole, who drifted lazily down beside her to give Danny his own cursory once over.  She took a deep breath, and spoke in a near hiss.
“What just happened?”
Cole held up his hands in surrender and shrugged, which did little to soothe Jazz’s building irritation.
“I dunno, probably used up a lot of energy learning a new power and tossing it out at me.  I’m not the best at all this spirituality stuff-“
“You’re literally half air spirit but alright, cous.”
“-I do know how to keep people from pulling on my magic to fill up their own drained supply.  Your brother needs to eat more.”
“Most likely needs more food filled with ectoplasm, it’s incredibly energy rich.  Maybe he should spend some time in the Ghost Zone?  Who knows.”
“As I asked, do you know where Elle is?  I personally haven’t tried my hand at scrying her but I’m rather certain that she’d feel it if we did that and I’d rather not creep her out when we go find her to offer her help.”
“I can try to look for her, I guess, but I’m pretty sure that Elle is laying low to avoid grabbing Vlad’s attention.”
“Who exactly is this Elle person, Tucker?”
“Oh yeah, we never did end up telling you about her.  Save any and all yelling until the end of the explanation or I’m going to stop telling you, got it?”
Jazz took a deep, measured breath, and nodded to Sam.
“Ok, before you start telling that tale, I’ve gotta say I’d find her better if I had the Fenton FinderTM since that could track down her ectosignature.  Buuut, I’d need Vlad’s record of that ectosignature in order to look for it in particular.”
“We should also probably get Danny into an energy rich environment so he can recover faster.  How do you kids feel about seeing our ship?”
“No.  We’ve just met you, it’ll take more than one meeting to establish the trust needed to get us to a secondary location, especially with Danny passed out.  I’m taking Danny home now, we’ll contact you when we’re ready to meet you again.”
“Well, that’s a fair enough point I guess.  After we sneak into Vlad’s place to get some more data, I’ll get back to you on finding Elle if we do before you.  Regardless, you should probably tell us before you go to get her, so we can talk with her as a group - familiar faces and all that.”
“Well now, if it’s breaking into some rich guy’s house to steal information, I can help you out with that.  Kinda my specialty and all that.”
“You don’t have a specialty; you just do everything.”
“Thank you, yes.  So, you guys head back to your place, we’ll figure out what we’re gonna do on our end, and we can meet back… well, how about here?”
“Oh sure, we can turn the observatory into a real homebase.”
Tucker paused as he considered that, tilting his head.
“Actually, yeah, why don’t we do that?”
“Tucker, schemes later, getting Danny in the car now.  Thank you, Toby, Valdan, Cole, for helping us out.  We’ll keep in touch, see what you can teach the kids.  For now, have a good day.”
Tempting as it was to ask just how old Jazz was to be calling the others kids, Valdan knew when to cut his losses.  So he nodded and shook Jazz’s free hand, while Cole picked Danny up and carried him over to Jazz’s… car.
“I don’t like the vibes this thing gives off.  You got here in this?”
“Well if you’re connected to the weather like you claimed then I imagine you wouldn’t be all that pleased near a car.  I’ve tried to convince my parents to make an engine that’s eco friendly and isn’t running on ectoplasm, since that’d just animate the car itself.  They’re not much into making things that aren’t related to ectoplasm.  I might just make a new engine myself, actually, that’s probably a lost cause.”
“Welp, you’ve lost me so I’m gonna go now before you start rambling about machine parts the way Duncan and David do.  Bye.”
A cloud of shimmering vapor and ice swirled into Cole’s hand and flew out to an empty spot a few feet away.  Lightning flew from his hand to the cloud and it compressed into a flat circle of sky blue and toxic green, which swept out to the edges.  On the other side was the deck of a ship, surrounded by a howling blizzard and blinding white snow and ice.  Laughing at the sight, Cole grabbed his husband and cousin before jumping through the portal, which sealed shut behind him.
“Alright, a lot of things happened just now.  Let’s talk about that on the way home.  But first, Tucker, you’re going to tell me about this Elle person.  We’ve got plenty of drive to go before we even get to Sam’s house, so don’t try to say ‘it’s a long story’.”
Tucker sighed and settled down in shotgun, sticking tongue out at Sam when she glared from the backseat.
“Ok, so it all starts with Vlad.”
#
The Rose Pheonix was currently in the shape of a submarine, and David wondered about that.  He did not, after all, instruct it to change into any particular kind of vessel when they approached the massive iceberg that bordered the seemingly infinite Far Frozen realm, having no plans to go into it on the ship – he’d modified his and Apogo’s armor to be perfectly suited for the cold after all.  He would have to check the engines and see how the ectoplasm around them was affecting the mythallars.
Returning his attention to his family, however, David looked them all over and sighed.
“Duncan, didn’t we agree not to have weapons at the table?  Put your guns away before Valdan and Leico see them.  You don’t need em to regale us with how amazing your battle with Spectra and Bertrand was.”
Duncan rolled his eyes but got up anyway, stalking out of the room with a shout over his shoulder.
“It was barely a fight anyway!  Next targets need to be tougher.”
“Next time we need you to kill someone, I’m sure they’ll be a better opponent.  For now, we should focus on finding this Elle kid and getting her the help she needs.  Thankfully, the Far Frozen have agreed to lend us their medical technology and offered their services in actually checking out Elle’s stability issues and all that after we mentioned that she’s the clone of Danny.”
“Apparently they had this prophecy about him beating the big bad King of Ghosts single-handedly, and he did, so they find him worthy of worship or whatever.  Makes me wonder what kind of tyrant that king had to be for that kind of love for a kid ya don’t know.”
“Welp, that’s a whole other thing to look into but let’s keep our priorities straight, shall we?  First we need to find and help Elle, then we track down this Vlad character and see how best to eliminate him from the equation.  After that, I kinda wanna stay here for a bit, their world feels like it’s in need of help to maintain a balance with nature.”
“Before we can take out Vlad we need to find out if he’ll come back as a regular old ghost or if there’s a way to properly purge him, because there’s no reason he can’t shapeshift to look like his living self and resuming business as usual.  He’s a threat to everyone we’ve gone and gotten attached to here, and there’s no guarantee that he isn’t a major threat to Elle too since he made her.”
“Find and help Elle, research and kill Vlad, guarantee he stays properly dead for long enough that the kids don’t have to deal with him until they’re adults, and then we can split up jobs between helping the material world with whatever imbalance it’s having with nature and technology.  That sound good?”
There were agreements all around the table, and the twins walked in setting down food along the table.
“Glad you guys decided on a plan, cause it’s time to eat now.”

This here is for @floralflowerpower, @ebonyheartnet, and @five-rivers ! I hope you enjoyed! Have a lovely December and feel free to toss out conflicts I can shovel onto Danny's plate if you think I've been a touch too nice to him.

Ok so you know how everyone has been making/finding blob ghosts, I went to get one of my jars of ectoplasm for a customer and there was like three of them?? Just chilling there?? Does this mean I'm a parent now?? Help-
You may want to find an adult ghost willing to take them in. Due to current events, Amity Park is not safe for them.
