Alright this is a long shot but if anyone knows about this they're probably here.
So my parents recently busted out some of their old 90's stuff cuz it was conversationally relevant. Among the collection of stuff there was a Philco radio and cassette player it's pretty cool and fun.
I poped in one of the random cassettes that my parents have around, and unfortunately it didn't work. A hop, skip, and three hours of soldering and finding a replacement belt later I fixed it up. Most of the tapes my parents have are just random junk, songs from their dancing classes to practice to, instrumental versions of songs to practice singing to, some random family recordings. It's a nice relic of how people integrated with music and these tapes 30 years ago, but nothing really worth listening to more than once.
There was one professionally produced tape in the bunch, and that's where it gets interesting. It's a six song album from checks notes Hawaiian Punch. Yes the drink brand. Here's the tape.
I've looked for hours and I cannot find a single mention of any of these songs anywhere (except for Wipeout ofc). In the process I leaned about Punchy, his band at Sea World in the 80s and 90s but I cannot find a recording of these songs anywhere. I found the audio adventure with Punchy, but that's not this, this is six songs, very clearly about Punchy and Hawaiian Punch. There is no mention of the album, or the songs anywhere I've looked.
What is this, where'd it come from, and why can't I find it anywhere but this tape my parents have from decades ago.
“Dreams last for so long, even after you're gone .. and I know that you love me and soon you will see, you were meant for me and I was meant for you” -Jewel
Due to misinformation on an unnamed blazed post I've taken it upon myself to correct that misinformation
Bring me to life by evanescence is not a #90s song
That shit was released in 2003 and if you think my 13 year old ass wasn't obsessed with the non-threatening dramatic nu-metal music of Amy Lee then you don't know me at all.
Fun, carefree, and petty. Do Revenge is attractive, and its two female leads have incredibly good chemistry. This is Camila Mendes' best role yet although there's a little similarity between Drea Torres and Veronica Lodge from Riverdale. Drea Torres shows and performs unlike Veronica Lodge, she's more of a storyteller and a speaker. At any rate, Do Revenge's writing is witty and sarcastic which gives a fresh and active vibe and it had to be because it's set in high school and the young cast delivered it exceptionally. We can also see a transformation of Maya Hawke here. Her role is quite different from Stranger Things. There's still that awkwardness, but she's a little feisty. Overall, this film is just enjoyable to watch and something you can sing-along with most especially it plays a lot of 90's songs. Do Revenge is one of Netflix's best this year.
