Day 30/90 Days of Productivity

I will definitely say that it was a productive day.

I had my computer lab today and totally fucked it up as I was alone and had no teammate and was too scared to open Google and copy down the code from there while the professors keep roaming around us. So.. that was the worst part of the day.

HOWEVER, later on, I shared this thought of mine with my friends: "I'm just imagining how nice it'll be if I knew how to code. Cuz like, I'm great at typing, i type fast. And if I'll be able to code while typing fast???? Girl, I'd totally have a crush on myself I consider that super cool!!"

That was something nice.

I watched some videos for trigonometry. I think I finally understood the concept?? All that's left to do is make some time to solve allll the problems in the textbook for these chapters.

I also wrote a bit of my bio notes (a bit in the library and a bit in the room).

Also also!! I made formula sheets for both trigonometry chapters and also conic sections chapter.

Productive, huh?

I been struggling with time management for the last few weeks, and my mental health went all haywire, so it has been a slow study month. Couldn’t accomplish much and felt even worse about that, while all of this was going on my smart band decided to break. The new band got delivered today and I like it more than the original one honestly, and I’ll be on a new 90dop, it really does help with being on track and acts as a pretty good motivation in my opinion.

lololol, aside from not drawing bayverse or next mutation turtles in forever my ass also hasn’t drawn my au turtles in a hot-ass minute either

like, since returning with Rise after my last memories were with Next Mutation one of the things I noticed is the teenage part seems roughly... the same? I can’t really speak on it since I’m barely scratching 03′s surface and I haven’t even gone near 12. But aside from contemporary fixtures like their cellphones, and maybe Rise!Leo dabbing.

like just very vague, almost non-descript “(american) teen culture” markers. but like. these are new york kids. 

and in my time they were new york kids from the 90s????? And they had them referencing Moonlighting???????? like Raph wouldn’t have been hard into Biggie, or Mikey wouldn’t be out on the cardboard mats with the bboys. c’man. At the very least Next Mutation had them throw a Save the Animals Rave, and honestly that’s the most 90s fucking thing they’ve done that I remember ‘til that point.

This has been sitting in my inbox for almost a week because I needed to make a futile effort at organizing my thoughts into something coherent--but this is as organized as they're going to get for now! Thank you so so much for the ask though bc I do love to yell about MHA <3

(Obligatory reminder that I'm watching this show in such a confusing order so if what I'm about to rant about has been addressed before and I'm harping on it unnecessarily I Am Sorry.)

SO. It feels relevant to mention that my sister and I were talking about All Might in the first place because we were talking about MHA Moments That Haunt Us. For me, it's the 'I am not here' sign hanging around the neck of the All Might statue in Kamino Ward after the Paranormal Liberation War. It literally lives in my brain rent-free 24/7 365 days a year, especially with the AM vs AFO fight being relatively fresh in my mind. The reversal of All Might's catchphrase and all it represents hurts, but to display it at the site of his 'last stand' in Kamino? That's brutal.

All Might vs All For One and how that rematch plays out is so so important to the story for so many reasons, but one of them is that the fight itself is a sacrifice. Toshinori gives everything he has, short of his life, to defeat All For One. He gives up his physical strength, his public image as the unbeatable Symbol of Peace, and, effectively his Quirk ("Goodbye, All For One. Goodbye, One For All" haunts my every waking moment, still!)

This battle is also the culmination of years of All Might's life and heroic philosophy (because Toshinori has been both practicing AND preaching self-sacrifice in the name of the greater good since we met him. It's what he thinks a hero does). Kamino is the sacrifice to end all sacrifices, if you will. Yes, he does get to walk away from the fight with AFO, but he walks away irrevocably different, almost unrecognizable. He's forced to totally change his focus and his mindset and his life. Everything he has given up is made literally visible in the deterioration of his body.

But most most importantly, All Might's sacrifice at Kamino was... all for nothing. Even if AM defeated him in that moment, All For One is free less than a year later. The world is in shambles. People are afraid, and their faith in heroes is crumbling. Heroes are afraid, and this time, they have no idealized symbol to rally behind. When Dostoevsky wrote "Your worst sin is that you have destroyed and betrayed yourself for nothing," he was talking about All Might btw.

Toshinori gave this fight (and his career, and being All Might) everything he had, and it still wasn't enough. He sacrificed so much of himself, and so much of how he perceived himself and his purpose, and he didn't even save the world. He just bought them time--and not much of it. I think that's why he's so desperate to keep fighting, no matter the cost, no matter what condition he's in--even 'quite literally half-dead.' He can't let Kamino be the Symbol of Peace's final stand, because Kamino was ultimately for nothing. Instead of saving the world, it has been reframed through the sign on the statue as All Might abandoning the world. And ever since then, he's been scrambling to prove that he is still here.

(There's also probably something here about Sir Nighteye telling him that he was going to die. Since Nighteye used his Quirk on him, Toshinori has been anticipating sacrificing his life for good. Knowing that his entire hero career is effectively a fight to the death has probably maximized his self-sacrificial tendencies.)

Introduction

The point of this challenge is for me to get back into the groove of studying, and also to fix my life a little bit since its a very big mess right now. I'm using this place to document everything, from pretty notes to messy journals and an even messier room.

My Life Areas + Goals

Education - To Finish the syllabus I'm setting for myself in these 90 days

Physical Health - Building Strength and flexibility

Mental Health - Practising good coping mechanisms and mindfulness

Hobbies - Learning how to draw

Self-care - Taking time for myself

Knowledge (this is for non-study things that interest me) - Learning German, some coursera/edx courses

Personal growth - Developing daily routines that are sustainable

Environment (Mostly my room) - Having a clean room and a daily/weekly cleaning routine to keep it clean

Dailies (Floor goals)

These are the minimum I want to do everyday

Waking up before 8am

Having a simple morning routine

Morning journaling

15 minutes of intentional movement, doesn't have to be a full workout

10 pages of non-fiction reading

30 mins of learning something new

Meditation

These are going to be updated as i go on, but this is all for now.

90 DAYS OF PRODUCTIVITY: 28 AND 29/90

Day 28/90 (16th october 2023)

I don't remember much but I got back to campus today, had a nice healthy breakfast with my parents and rushed off to class. I got there on time, thanks to my parents dropping me off at the academic block entrance :) I did a bit of math (wrote my notes) and also did a teeny bit of gen bio notes.

I've set a bunch of goals for myself this week (literally did this on thursday the previous week) and I've also set a reward for it. My fav maggi + a drink along with a movie of my choice.

Day 29/90 (17th October 2023)

I felt so good at the end of the day. Why? I solved the problems of one whole chapter. In one single day. Like, after midsems, I figured out that trying out problems in math in the last minute won't give me enough time to properly prepare for the exam. Now that I did all problems of conic sections chapter, I feel more confident in the chapter. It's pretty simple. That's how I feel about it. I worked a lot today on this.

Anyways, that's it!! Byee!!
